- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles.
- 0:03Speaker 1: In this episode, we're going to dive right back into
- 0:06Speaker 1: those court documents and keep providing those receipts. And in
- 0:10Speaker 1: this batch of receipts, we're going to be hearing from
- 0:13Speaker 1: Juliet Bryant about her allegations against Jeffrey Epstein and Jeffrey
- 0:18Speaker 1: Epstein's estate. So let's get to it. Plaintiff Juliet Bryant,
- 0:24Speaker 1: by her attorneys Boyce, Schiller, Flexner, LLP, for her complaint
- 0:28Speaker 1: against defendants Darren K. Indyke and Richard D. Kahn in
- 0:32Speaker 1: their capacities as the executors of the estate of Jeffrey
- 0:36Speaker 1: Edward Epstein, upon personal knowledge as to her own acts
- 0:40Speaker 1: and status, and upon information and belief, and to all
- 0:44Speaker 1: other matters as follows. Nature of the Action 1. This
- 0:49Speaker 1: suit arises out of Jeffrey Epstein's sexual abuse of plaintiff
- 0:53Speaker 1: beginning when plaintiff was 20 years old that lasted years
- 0:57Speaker 1: and included trafficking plaintiff to each of his homes in
- 1:00Speaker 1: the United States and Paris. 2. Plaintiff was a young
- 1:04Speaker 1: girl living in South Africa with hopes of becoming a
- 1:07Speaker 1: model when she was approached by one of Epstein's recruiters
- 1:11Speaker 1: about a prospective modeling opportunity in the United States and
- 1:15Speaker 1: invited to a restaurant to meet Epstein, who was dining
- 1:18Speaker 1: with a former high U.S. government official, a famous actor,
- 1:21Speaker 1: and a well-known comedian. So, Bill Clinton... Kevin Spacey, and
- 1:28Speaker 1: Smoke Dog himself, Chris Tucker. What appeared on the outside
- 1:32Speaker 1: as a legitimate opportunity to break into the modeling business
- 1:36Speaker 1: in the United States turned into years of horrific abuse
- 1:40Speaker 1: and manipulation at the hands of Jeffrey Epstein. 3. Epstein's
- 1:45Speaker 1: trafficking scheme involved recruiting young females by making false promises
- 1:50Speaker 1: and using his wealth, power, and threats to intimidate the
- 1:53Speaker 1: females into submission to his demands. The same pattern was
- 1:56Speaker 1: repeated numerous times with numerous young women. 4. As United
- 2:01Speaker 1: States District Judge Kenneth Mara found, from between about 1999
- 2:07Speaker 1: and 2007, Jeffrey Epstein sexually abused more than 30 minor
- 2:11Speaker 1: girls at his mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, and elsewhere
- 2:15Speaker 1: in the United States and overseas. That's what the judge
- 2:18Speaker 1: is telling you, not me. The judge is saying that.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Keep that in mind. In addition to his own sexual
- 2:24Speaker 1: abuse of the victims... Epstein directed other persons to abuse
- 2:28Speaker 1: the girls sexually. Epstein used paid employees to find and
- 2:32Speaker 1: bring minor girls to him. Epstein worked in concert with
- 2:35Speaker 1: others to obtain minors not only for his own sexual gratifications,
- 2:40Speaker 1: but also for the sexual gratification of others. Doe 1 v.
- 2:44Speaker 1: United States 359F. SUPP. 3D 1201-1204 Southern District of Florida 2019 So
- 2:56Speaker 1: who are all these others that he was gratifying, and
- 2:59Speaker 1: how come nobody else has been arrested? 5. Epstein organized
- 3:03Speaker 1: this sex trafficking network to obtain hundreds of young females
- 3:06Speaker 1: for himself, for sex, and also lent these females out
- 3:10Speaker 1: to other powerful and wealthy individuals to be sexually abused. 6.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Epstein conspired with others and hired staff to maintain and
- 3:19Speaker 1: keep secret his network of sexual abuse for years. which
- 3:23Speaker 1: sprawled throughout Epstein's residences in New York, Florida, New Mexico,
- 3:28Speaker 1: the United States Virgin Islands, and Paris. Epstein's preference was
- 3:32Speaker 1: to have three different young females a day for his
- 3:35Speaker 1: sexual pleasure. 7. Despite his significant criminal activity, in 2008
- 3:41Speaker 1: Epstein received a shockingly minimal charge pleading guilty to a
- 3:45Speaker 1: single Florida state law charge of procuring a minor for prostitution,
- 3:50Speaker 1: and a non-prosecution agreement with the U.S. Attorney's Office for
- 3:53Speaker 1: the Southern District of Florida. Unknown to the public and
- 3:57Speaker 1: to the victims at the time, Epstein's lawyers were pressuring
- 4:00Speaker 1: the government to commit to the NPA without informing the victims.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Epstein's multiple victims were kept in the dark and told
- 4:07Speaker 1: to be patient, while Epstein's lawyers worked to protect him
- 4:11Speaker 1: and other potential co-conspirators from prosecution. Epstein served one year
- 4:16Speaker 1: in jail but was afforded the privilege of being able
- 4:19Speaker 1: to leave the jail to go to work for 12
- 4:21Speaker 1: hours per day, 6 days per week. 8. The NPA
- 4:26Speaker 1: allowed Epstein to escape proportionate punishment for his actions and
- 4:29Speaker 1: to continue operating his sex trafficking enterprise with liberty. 9.
- 4:34Speaker 1: A few years later, Epstein flippantly referred to his sexual
- 4:38Speaker 1: abuse of multiple minors and the slap on the wrist
- 4:40Speaker 1: that he received for it in a 2011 interview with
- 4:43Speaker 1: the New York Post. Billionaire pervert Jeffrey Epstein is back
- 4:47Speaker 1: in New York City and making wisecracks about his just-ended
- 4:50Speaker 1: jail stint for having sex with an underage girl. I'm
- 4:54Speaker 1: not a sexual predator. I'm an offender, the financier, pedophile,
- 4:58Speaker 1: told the Post yesterday. It's the difference between a murderer
- 5:01Speaker 1: and a person who steals a bagel, said Epstein. Amber Sutherland,
- 5:05Speaker 1: billionaire Jeffrey Epstein. I'm a sex offender, not a predator,
- 5:09Speaker 1: New York Post, February 25th, 2011. Number 10. In August 2018,
- 5:15Speaker 1: just one year before his death, Epstein told a New
- 5:17Speaker 1: York Times reporter that criminalizing sex with teenage girls was
- 5:22Speaker 1: a cultural aberration and that at times in history it
- 5:25Speaker 1: was perfectly acceptable. James B. Stewart, the day Jeffrey Epstein
- 5:29Speaker 1: told me he had dirt on powerful people. Number 11.
- 5:32Speaker 1: When plaintiff was 20 years old, Epstein added her to
- 5:35Speaker 1: his long list of victims by committing sexual assault and
- 5:38Speaker 1: battery against her. As such, Epstein is responsible for battery
- 5:43Speaker 1: an intentional infliction of emotional distress pursuant to New York
- 5:46Speaker 1: common law. The damage to the plaintiff has been severe
- 5:50Speaker 1: and lasting. 12. This action has been timely filed pursuant
- 5:55Speaker 1: to NYCPLR Section 215-8A, which provides that a plaintiff shall
- 6:00Speaker 1: have at least one year from the termination of a
- 6:03Speaker 1: criminal action against the same defendant to commence an action
- 6:06Speaker 1: with respect to the event or occurrence from which the
- 6:09Speaker 1: criminal action arose. A criminal action against Epstein with respect
- 6:13Speaker 1: to the same-sex trafficking enterprise from which plaintiff's claims arise,
- 6:17Speaker 1: was terminated on August 29, 2019. Number 13. This action
- 6:24Speaker 1: has also been timely filed pursuant to NYCPLR Section 213C,
- 6:30Speaker 1: which provides that a plaintiff shall have 20 years to
- 6:32Speaker 1: file civil claims for physical, psychological, and other injury or
- 6:37Speaker 1: conditions suffered by such person as a result of conduct
- 6:41Speaker 1: which would constitute rape in the first degree, as defined
- 6:45Speaker 1: in Section 130.35 of the Penal Law. Epstein raped plaintiff
- 6:50Speaker 1: within 20 years of filing this complaint. 14. Any statute
- 6:54Speaker 1: of limitations applicable to plaintiff's claims, if any, is told
- 6:58Speaker 1: due to the continuous and active deception, duress, threats of retaliation,
- 7:03Speaker 1: and other forms of misconduct that Epstein and his co-conspirators
- 7:07Speaker 1: used to silence his many victims, including plaintiff. Epstein's actions
- 7:11Speaker 1: deprive plaintiff of the opportunity to commence this lawsuit before
- 7:15Speaker 1: his death. Until his death, plaintiff feared that Epstein and
- 7:19Speaker 1: his co-conspirators would harm her or her family or ruin
- 7:22Speaker 1: her life if she came forward. 15. Defendants are equitably
- 7:29Speaker 1: e-stopped from asserting a statute of limitations defense. Allowing defendants
- 7:33Speaker 1: to do so would be unjust. Epstein and his co-conspirators
- 7:37Speaker 1: intimidated each of his victims into silence by threatening their
- 7:40Speaker 1: lives and their livelihoods. They therefore prevented plaintiff from commencing
- 7:45Speaker 1: this lawsuit before his death. By using threats along with
- 7:49Speaker 1: his wealth and his power, Epstein was able to escape
- 7:52Speaker 1: punishment for his intolerable and brutal crimes against countless young
- 7:56Speaker 1: women and underage girls for the duration of his life. Parties. 16.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Plaintiff Juliet Bryant is a citizen and resident of South Africa. 17.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Defendant Darren K. Endyke is sued in his capacity as
- 8:12Speaker 1: an appointed executor of the Epstein estate. 18. Defendant Richard D.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Kahn is sued in his capacity as an appointed executor
- 8:20Speaker 1: of the Jeffrey Epstein estate. Jurisdiction and Venue 19. Jeffrey
- 8:27Speaker 1: Epstein was a citizen of the United States domiciled in
- 8:30Speaker 1: the U.S. Virgin Islands at the time of his death.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein maintained a residence in the Southern District of
- 8:36Speaker 1: New York As the legal representatives of the estate of
- 8:40Speaker 1: Jeffrey E. Epstein, Darren K. Indyke, and Richard D. Kahn
- 8:44Speaker 1: are deemed citizens of the U.S. Virgin Islands. 20. The
- 8:48Speaker 1: amount and controversy in this action exceeds the sum or
- 8:51Speaker 1: value of $ 75, 000, excluding interest and costs, and is between
- 8:56Speaker 1: citizens of different states. Accordingly, jurisdiction is proper under U.S.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Code 28, Section 1332. 21. Venue is proper in this court.
- 9:07Speaker 1: as Epstein's sexual abuse of plaintiff began in New York,
- 9:10Speaker 1: New York, where he recruited her at age 20 and
- 9:13Speaker 1: began grooming her for sex in his organized sex trafficking ring. 22.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Many of the events giving rise to these causes of
- 9:21Speaker 1: action occurred in the Southern District of New York, where
- 9:24Speaker 1: a substantial amount of Epstein's property is located. Thus, the
- 9:27Speaker 1: venue in this district is proper. U.S. Code 28, Section 1391,
- 9:30Speaker 1: B and 2. Factual Allegations. A. Epstein Sex Trafficking Enterprise, 23.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein was widely renowned as a billionaire who used
- 9:45Speaker 1: his vast connections to powerful individuals and seemingly unlimited wealth
- 9:49Speaker 1: and resources to create a web of transcontinental sex trafficking
- 9:54Speaker 1: that served himself, his co-conspirators, and some of the most
- 9:58Speaker 1: powerful people in the world. 24. Epstein owned multiple residences
- 10:03Speaker 1: and frequently traveled between them, including 9 East 71st Street,
- 10:07Speaker 1: New York, New York, and 49 Zorro Ranch Road, Stanley,
- 10:11Speaker 1: New Mexico, where the illegal sexual crimes against plaintiff occurred.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Epstein conservatively valued his New York townhome at $ 55, 931, 000. Epstein
- 10:22Speaker 1: conservatively valued his New Mexico ranch at $ 17, 246, 208. In addition,
- 10:29Speaker 1: Epstein owned residences in the Virgin Islands, Florida, and France,
- 10:35Speaker 1: and even his own island, Great St. James Island, where
- 10:39Speaker 1: his transcontinental sex trafficking of hundreds of young females servicing him,
- 10:43Speaker 1: his co-conspirators, and wealthy and powerful individuals around the world occurred. 25.
- 10:50Speaker 1: The allegations herein concern Epstein's torteous acts against Plaintiff while
- 10:55Speaker 1: at Epstein's mansion in New York, his home in Florida,
- 10:58Speaker 1: his home in the Virgin Islands, and his apartment in Paris,
- 11:01Speaker 1: and his New Mexico ranch. 26. At all times material
- 11:05Speaker 1: evidence To this cause of action, Jeffrey Epstein utilized his
- 11:09Speaker 1: seemingly unlimited power, wealth, and resources, as well as his
- 11:13Speaker 1: deep connections to powerful and politically connected individuals to intimidate
- 11:18Speaker 1: and manipulate his victims of sexual abuse. 27. Epstein and
- 11:23Speaker 1: his co-conspirators had perfected a scheme for manipulation and abuse
- 11:27Speaker 1: of young females. As part of the scheme, a female
- 11:30Speaker 1: recruiter would approach a young female and strike up a
- 11:33Speaker 1: conversation with in an effort to quickly learn about the
- 11:36Speaker 1: young female's background and any vulnerabilities they could expose. The
- 11:40Speaker 1: recruiter would then manipulate the young female into coming back
- 11:44Speaker 1: to one of Epstein's residences by offering the young female
- 11:47Speaker 1: something she needed. At times, the recruiter's lure would be
- 11:51Speaker 1: a modeling opportunity, money for education, help for the young
- 11:55Speaker 1: woman's family, and a whole host of other related offers
- 11:58Speaker 1: depending on their target situation. Once in the residence, the
- 12:02Speaker 1: recruiter and Epstein would work in concert to impress and
- 12:06Speaker 1: intimidate the young female with displays of vast wealth, including
- 12:10Speaker 1: having employees that were butlers and maids formally dressed around
- 12:14Speaker 1: the house. They would also strategically place photographs of very
- 12:18Speaker 1: powerful political and social figures among photographs and art displaying
- 12:23Speaker 1: nude females in an effort to normalize the sexual abuse.
- 12:27Speaker 1: They would also normalize the sexual abuse by placing a
- 12:29Speaker 1: massage table and spa-related products around the massage area in
- 12:34Speaker 1: an effort to legitimize the area where the abuse was
- 12:37Speaker 1: set to occur. Once abused, Epstein and his co-conspirators continued
- 12:41Speaker 1: to manipulate the victims using their financial power, promises, and
- 12:46Speaker 1: threats to ensure that the victim returned as directed and
- 12:49Speaker 1: remained compliant with their demands. Alright, we're going to finish
- 12:53Speaker 1: up with part one here. And we'll finish this off
- 12:56Speaker 1: in the next episode. All of the information that goes
- 12:59Speaker 1: with this episode can be found in the description box.
- 13:03Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles.
- 13:07Speaker 1: We're going to pick up where we left off with
- 13:10Speaker 1: Juliet Bryant complaints against Jeffrey Epstein's estate and against Jeffrey
- 13:15Speaker 1: Epstein's bitch ass himself. So let's get back to it. B,
- 13:20Speaker 1: the arrest, prosecution, and death of Epstein. 28. The sexual
- 13:26Speaker 1: trafficking ring described herein started at least as early as
- 13:30Speaker 1: 1995 and continued up until at least July 2, 2019,
- 13:35Speaker 1: when the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of
- 13:37Speaker 1: New York charged Epstein with sex trafficking conspiracy and sex
- 13:41Speaker 1: trafficking in violation of U.S. Code 18, Section 1591. He
- 13:44Speaker 1: was arrested on July 8, 2019. pursuant to the SDNY-sealed
- 13:51Speaker 1: two-count indictment, which is attached as Exhibit A. 29. The
- 13:56Speaker 1: indictment described Epstein's conduct and his abuse and trafficking of
- 13:59Speaker 1: females in the same trafficking operation he used to abuse
- 14:03Speaker 1: and traffic plaintiff. 30. Epstein's last will and testament, the will,
- 14:08Speaker 1: was executed on August 8, 2019, at the Metropolitan Correctional Center.
- 14:13Speaker 1: The witnesses were Mariel Colon Miro and Golnora Talley. The
- 14:18Speaker 1: will included affidavits from Darren K. Endyke and Richard D.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Kahn in which they swear an oath of willingness to
- 14:25Speaker 1: serve as executor and appointment of local council. 31. Epstein
- 14:30Speaker 1: was found dead in his cell at Metropolitan Correctional Center
- 14:33Speaker 1: on August 10, 2019. 32. Epstein's last will and testament
- 14:39Speaker 1: was filed on August 15, 2019 in the Probate Division
- 14:44Speaker 1: in the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands. 33. Darren K.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Endyke and Richard D. Kahn filed a Certificate of Trust
- 14:52Speaker 1: in the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands for Epstein's
- 14:55Speaker 1: 1953 trust on August 26, 2019. C. Certificate of Trust
- 15:01Speaker 1: in the matter of the estate of Jeffrey E. Epstein,
- 15:04Speaker 1: probate number ST-19-PB-80, Superior Court, Virgin Islands, August 26, 2019. 34.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Epstein's will was entered into probate On September 6, 2019,
- 15:19Speaker 1: and the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands accordingly authorized
- 15:23Speaker 1: Darren K. Endyke and Richard D. Kahn to administer Epstein's estate.
- 15:27Speaker 1: See Order for Probate in the Matter of the Estate
- 15:30Speaker 1: of Jeffrey Epstein, Probate Number ST-19-PB-80, Superior Court, Virgin Islands,
- 15:37Speaker 1: September 6, 2019. Letters Testamentary in the Matter of the
- 15:42Speaker 1: Estate of Jeffrey Epstein, Probate Number ST-19-PB-80, dash PB-80, Superior Court,
- 15:50Speaker 1: Virgin Islands, September 6, 2019. 35. The will's first article
- 15:57Speaker 1: directs Epstein's executors to pay from my estate all expenses
- 16:01Speaker 1: of my last illness, my funeral and burial expenses, the
- 16:05Speaker 1: administration expenses of my estate, and all of my debts
- 16:09Speaker 1: duly proven and allowed against my estate. The will further
- 16:12Speaker 1: directs that after the payments and distributions provided in Article 1st, Epstein,
- 16:18Speaker 1: give all of my property, real and personal, wherever situated,
- 16:22Speaker 1: to the then-acting trustees of the 1953 trust. 36. Following
- 16:28Speaker 1: Epstein's death, SDNY submitted proposed order in a criminal matter
- 16:33Speaker 1: against him because it was required by law to do
- 16:36Speaker 1: so after Epstein was deceased. On August 29, 2019, U.S.
- 16:41Speaker 1: District Judge Richard Berman formally dismissed SDNY's indictment against Epstein,
- 16:46Speaker 1: terminating the criminal action against him. Plaintiff's claims are therefore
- 16:50Speaker 1: timely under NYCPLR Section 215.8a. C. Juliet Bryant 37. Plaintiff
- 17:00Speaker 1: Juliet Bryant was born on July 23, 1982, in South Africa. 38.
- 17:06Speaker 1: In 2002, Juliet was 20 years old and an aspiring model.
- 17:11Speaker 1: In Cape Town, Najah Hill, an American model, approached Juliet
- 17:15Speaker 1: in an attempt to befriend her. Hill asked Juliet if
- 17:18Speaker 1: she would like to meet Epstein, who she called the
- 17:21Speaker 1: King of America. Hill described Epstein as a well-connected billionaire
- 17:26Speaker 1: who could help her with her modeling career and explained
- 17:29Speaker 1: that he was visiting Africa with a former U.S. government official,
- 17:33Speaker 1: a famous actor, and a well-known comedian. 39. Juliet considered
- 17:38Speaker 1: meeting Epstein an amazing opportunity because modeling in New York
- 17:42Speaker 1: City had always been one of her biggest dreams. Hill
- 17:45Speaker 1: brought Juliet to a restaurant to meet Epstein, who at
- 17:48Speaker 1: the time was dining with a former high U.S. government official,
- 17:52Speaker 1: the famous actor, and the well-known comedian. Juliet had never
- 17:57Speaker 1: met a celebrity before. She was invited to attend a
- 17:59Speaker 1: speech the former high U.S. government official, a.k.a. Bill Clinton's
- 18:04Speaker 1: bitch ass, was giving in Cape Town the next day
- 18:07Speaker 1: and was escorted to the speech by police cars with
- 18:10Speaker 1: individuals associated with the former official. Forty. Later, Epstein asked
- 18:16Speaker 1: Juliet to bring her a modeling portfolio to his hotel
- 18:19Speaker 1: for casting. Epstein told Juliet that he owned a modeling
- 18:23Speaker 1: agency and would get her an agent in New York,
- 18:26Speaker 1: and he also mentioned that his good friend, Les Wexner,
- 18:29Speaker 1: owned Victoria's Secret, a lingerie conglomerate. 41. Within a few days,
- 18:34Speaker 1: Leslie Groff began calling Juliet. Groff told Juliet that Epstein
- 18:39Speaker 1: wanted to bring her to New York City to model.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Groff who was in New York at the time, helped
- 18:44Speaker 1: Juliet get a visa, passport, and airline tickets. It was
- 18:48Speaker 1: Juliet's first time traveling overseas, so she was nervous. Epstein
- 18:52Speaker 1: called Juliet's mother from New York to assure her that
- 18:55Speaker 1: Juliet would be safe with him in New York. 42.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Within two weeks, Juliet arrived in New York. A car
- 19:02Speaker 1: picked her up from the airport and brought her to
- 19:04Speaker 1: her apartment building on 66th Street. where Epstein housed some
- 19:08Speaker 1: of the other models who he was abusing. But Juliet
- 19:12Speaker 1: was not there for long. Shortly after arriving at the apartment,
- 19:15Speaker 1: Sarah Kellan, another one of Epstein's co-conspirators, called and told
- 19:19Speaker 1: Juliet that Juliet was going to the Caribbean. Juliet did
- 19:23Speaker 1: not understand why she was traveling to the Caribbean so
- 19:26Speaker 1: soon after arriving in New York City, but hoped it
- 19:29Speaker 1: was for a modeling job. 43. Juliet was taken on
- 19:33Speaker 1: Epstein's private plane During the flight, Epstein began sexually touching
- 19:37Speaker 1: Juliet's leg. She felt trapped and terrified, and feared that
- 19:41Speaker 1: she would be killed. 44. When they arrived at Epstein's
- 19:45Speaker 1: home in the Virgin Islands, Epstein's abuse of Juliet there
- 19:48Speaker 1: began when Kellan, sent Juliet to Epstein's room to massage him.
- 19:53Speaker 1: For the rest of the trip, Epstein repeatedly raped Juliet
- 19:56Speaker 1: by a forcible compulsion. Kellen repeatedly sent Juliet to Epstein's
- 20:00Speaker 1: room where he would touch her, use massage devices on her,
- 20:04Speaker 1: force her to perform oral sex on him, and sexually
- 20:07Speaker 1: force himself on her. Juliet also witnessed another young girl
- 20:11Speaker 1: performing oral sex on Epstein in front of Juliet while
- 20:14Speaker 1: they were watching a movie. Juliet was terrified of Epstein
- 20:18Speaker 1: and his power. No one knew where she was, and
- 20:20Speaker 1: she believed that if anything happened to her, no one
- 20:23Speaker 1: would ever know. 45. Instead of fulfilling her dreams of
- 20:28Speaker 1: becoming a model in New York City, Juliet was subject
- 20:31Speaker 1: to extreme and repeated sexual abuse. Epstein's sexual abuse of
- 20:35Speaker 1: Juliet was humiliating and degrading and caused Juliet to cry
- 20:40Speaker 1: herself to sleep each night. She fell trapped and alone
- 20:43Speaker 1: on Epstein's private island. Juliet learned very quickly that Epstein
- 20:47Speaker 1: was incredibly powerful and that she should not disobey his demands. 46.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Epstein's abuse of Juliet lasted for years. Epstein forced her
- 20:57Speaker 1: to travel to the United States many times to see
- 21:00Speaker 1: Epstein and be subjected to repeated sexual abuse for one
- 21:04Speaker 1: to two weeks at a time, sometimes staying in his
- 21:07Speaker 1: New York apartment. Epstein never introduced Juliet to a modeling agent,
- 21:11Speaker 1: and she was never hired for a modeling job. 47.
- 21:15Speaker 1: For those years, Juliet felt like a prisoner and was
- 21:18Speaker 1: afraid of betraying Epstein because of his money and his power.
- 21:21Speaker 1: She was afraid he would hurt her or her family.
- 21:24Speaker 1: In fact, the very first time Epstein brought Juliet to
- 21:27Speaker 1: the United States was In order to scare her, he
- 21:30Speaker 1: told her when another woman had accused him of rape,
- 21:32Speaker 1: he planted drugs in the woman's apartment and had sent
- 21:35Speaker 1: her to prison. 48. Epstein made very clear to Juliet
- 21:39Speaker 1: that he was incredibly wealthy, powerful, and regularly in contact
- 21:43Speaker 1: with world leaders. In fact, in his New York mansion,
- 21:47Speaker 1: he had photographs displayed of significant political figures to ensure
- 21:51Speaker 1: that any young females entering the home would know that
- 21:53Speaker 1: he had extensive government connections. Epstein was not to be
- 21:57Speaker 1: disobeyed and he made this clear by his words and
- 22:00Speaker 1: his actions, and there would be consequences if Juliet did
- 22:04Speaker 1: not comply with his demands. 49. Juliet was also forced
- 22:09Speaker 1: to travel to Epstein's home in Paris, where she had
- 22:12Speaker 1: to stay with Ghislaine Maxwell, one of Epstein's main recruiters
- 22:15Speaker 1: of young females, and where Sarah Kellen forced her to
- 22:19Speaker 1: be photographed nude for Epstein. During that trip, Juliet witnessed
- 22:23Speaker 1: that young females were on call to sexually pleasure Epstein. 50.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Juliet's final trip to the United States was in 2004.
- 22:32Speaker 1: She flew to see Epstein at his New Mexico ranch
- 22:35Speaker 1: called Zorro Ranch. Epstein abused Juliet at Zorro Ranch. During
- 22:39Speaker 1: that trip, Epstein took Juliet with him to meet another
- 22:43Speaker 1: important government official. Juliet complied and went with Epstein. At
- 22:48Speaker 1: the meeting, Juliet believed Epstein had brought her there so
- 22:51Speaker 1: the official could look her over. Juliet felt very uncomfortable
- 22:55Speaker 1: and she and Epstein began to fight because he claimed
- 22:57Speaker 1: she was not being obedient. Epstein then informed Juliet that
- 23:02Speaker 1: he wanted her to travel with him on his plane
- 23:04Speaker 1: to California and serve drinks to some of his scientist
- 23:07Speaker 1: friends who were going to be flying with him to California.
- 23:10Speaker 1: But before the flight, after an argument with Epstein, Juliet
- 23:14Speaker 1: flew home to South Africa. That was the last time
- 23:16Speaker 1: Juliet visited Epstein. 51. Epstein attempted to keep in contact
- 23:21Speaker 1: with Juliet through email over the years. For example, in 2016,
- 23:27Speaker 1: Epstein emailed Juliet to ask if she knew Sarah Ransom,
- 23:31Speaker 1: another woman who was a victim of Epstein's sex trafficking scheme.
- 23:35Speaker 1: In June 2019, only two months before his death, Epstein
- 23:39Speaker 1: sent Juliet an email asking her to send him nude photographs. 52.
- 23:44Speaker 1: Juliet was deeply affected by her harrowing experiences at the
- 23:48Speaker 1: hands of Epstein. She developed eating disorders that affected her
- 23:51Speaker 1: for years afterwards. She also suffered from substance abuse, debilitating
- 23:56Speaker 1: panic attacks, and severe anxiety. 53. Epstein's sexual assault and
- 24:01Speaker 1: battery of Juliet continues to cause her significant distress and harm.
- 24:05Speaker 1: First cause of action, battery. 54. Plaintiff repeats and re-alleges
- 24:10Speaker 1: the allegations stated above in paragraphs 1 through 53 as
- 24:15Speaker 1: if fully set forth herein. 55. Epstein intentionally committed battery
- 24:21Speaker 1: by sexually assaulting plaintiff on numerous occasions at his homes
- 24:25Speaker 1: in New York, New Mexico, Florida, France, and the U.S.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Virgin Islands. As described above, on multiple occasions over a
- 24:33Speaker 1: years-long period, Epstein raped plaintiff and intentionally touched intimate parts
- 24:38Speaker 1: of her body in an offensive and sexual manner without
- 24:41Speaker 1: her consent. 56. Epstein's actions constitute sexual offenses, as defined
- 24:47Speaker 1: in New York Penal Code, Article 130, including but not
- 24:51Speaker 1: limited to rape in the first degree as defined in
- 24:54Speaker 1: Article 130.35, inasmuch as Epstein engaged in sexual intercourse with
- 25:00Speaker 1: plaintiff by forcible compulsion, CNY CPLR Section 213c. 57. A
- 25:07Speaker 1: criminal action against Epstein with respect to the same trafficking
- 25:11Speaker 1: enterprise from which plaintiff's first cause of action arises was
- 25:15Speaker 1: terminated on August 29, 2019. less than a year prior
- 25:19Speaker 1: to the filing of this complaint. CNY CPLR Section 215.8a. 58.
- 25:27Speaker 1: As a direct and proximate result of Epstein's conduct, Plaintiff has,
- 25:31Speaker 1: in the past and will in the future, continue to
- 25:34Speaker 1: suffer extreme emotional distress, humiliation, fear, anxiety, panic attacks, psychological trauma,
- 25:41Speaker 1: loss of dignity and self-esteem, and an invasion of her privacy.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Second Cause of Action intentional infliction of emotional distress. 59.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Plaintiff repeats and re-alleges the allegations stated above in paragraphs
- 25:56Speaker 1: 1 through 53 as if fully set forth herein. 60.
- 26:01Speaker 1: As a direct result of these allegations as stated, Epstein
- 26:04Speaker 1: committed intentional infliction of emotional distress against plaintiff. 61. Epstein's
- 26:10Speaker 1: actions described above constitute extreme and outrageous conduct that shocks
- 26:15Speaker 1: the conscience. Epstein's plan to recruit, entice, rape, and assault
- 26:19Speaker 1: plaintiff on multiple occasions goes beyond all possible bounds of
- 26:23Speaker 1: decency and is intolerable in a civilized community. 62. Epstein
- 26:29Speaker 1: knew or disregarded the substantial likelihood that these actions would
- 26:33Speaker 1: cause plaintiff severe emotional distress. 63. A criminal action against
- 26:39Speaker 1: Epstein with respect to the same-sex trafficking enterprise from which
- 26:42Speaker 1: plaintiff's second cause of action arises was terminated in on
- 26:46Speaker 1: August 29, 2019, less than one year prior to the
- 26:50Speaker 1: filing of this complaint. CNY CPLR Section 215, 8A. 64.
- 26:57Speaker 1: As a direct and proximate result of Epstein's conduct, plaintiff
- 27:01Speaker 1: has in the past and will in the future continue
- 27:04Speaker 1: to suffer extreme emotional distress, humiliation, fear, anxiety, panic attacks,
- 27:10Speaker 1: psychological trauma, loss of dignity and self-esteem, and invasion of
- 27:14Speaker 1: her privacy. prayer for a relief. Wherefore, plaintiff, respectfully request
- 27:19Speaker 1: judgment against defendants, awarding compensatory, consequential, exemplary, and punitive damages
- 27:26Speaker 1: in an amount to be determined at trial, cost of suit,
- 27:29Speaker 1: attorney fees, and such other and further relief as the
- 27:33Speaker 1: court may deem just and proper. Jury demand. Plaintiff hereby
- 27:36Speaker 1: demands a trial by jury on all causes of action
- 27:40Speaker 1: asserted within this pleading. This was dated November 14th, 2019
- 27:44Speaker 1: and signed by Joshua Schiller. All right, folks, that's going
- 27:49Speaker 1: to do it for this one. All of the information
- 27:51Speaker 1: that goes with this episode can be found in the
- 27:54Speaker 1: description box. What's up, everyone? And welcome back to the
- 27:57Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. On Monday, a new documentary is set to
- 28:03Speaker 1: premiere over on BBC, and that documentary is called House
- 28:08Speaker 1: of Ghislaine. Well, in that documentary, they talk to some
- 28:12Speaker 1: of the survivors and And one of those survivors that
- 28:16Speaker 1: they chatted with was Juliet Bryant. And her story? Absolutely soul-crushing.
- 28:24Speaker 1: What this young lady went through while she was held captive,
- 28:28Speaker 1: because that's what happened, she was held captive, on Epstein's
- 28:31Speaker 1: Island is just unbelievably horrible. And the fact that Jeffrey
- 28:37Speaker 1: Epstein was allowed... To operate for so long. Is just. It's.
- 28:44Speaker 1: There's no words really to describe. How maddening it is.
- 28:49Speaker 1: And again. This is another example. Another reason. Why I'm
- 28:53Speaker 1: so adamant. About the Virgin Islands. Not getting any money.
- 28:58Speaker 1: As a territory. As a claimant. Against Jeffrey Epstein's estate.
- 29:05Speaker 1: Because all of this stuff. Like what happened to Juliet Bryant.
- 29:09Speaker 1: happened down there in the Virgin Islands. And let's remember
- 29:13Speaker 1: that it was the officials in the Virgin Islands that
- 29:16Speaker 1: set Jeffrey Epstein up with all of these different benefits
- 29:21Speaker 1: that none of us would ever get. All kinds of
- 29:24Speaker 1: tax loopholes, this, that, the other thing. And on the
- 29:27Speaker 1: flip side, he was supposed to pump some of that
- 29:29Speaker 1: dough back into the community. Did that ever happen? Of
- 29:33Speaker 1: course not. But I guarantee you, politicians enrich themselves You
- 29:39Speaker 1: want it? bet? So where is the investigation into all
- 29:43Speaker 1: of those people that enrich themselves on the back of
- 29:47Speaker 1: abuse to girls like Juliette Bryant? And that's why it's so...
- 29:54Speaker 1: absurd to think that any state or territory should be
- 29:58Speaker 1: a claimant against the estate. Girls like Juliette Bryant, Annie Farmer, Virginia,
- 30:06Speaker 1: and the rest of them, the girls we don't even know,
- 30:09Speaker 1: all of them deserve to have every last penny from
- 30:13Speaker 1: this estate. Because what went on down here on this island,
- 30:19Speaker 1: it's the stuff right out of a horror movie. So
- 30:24Speaker 1: let's dive into this article from thedailymail.com and let's see
- 30:29Speaker 1: what Juliette Bryan had to say to this BBC documentary. Headline,
- 30:36Speaker 1: Epstein fed off the terror of a girl being scared.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Sex trafficking survivor speaks for the first time in BBC's
- 30:44Speaker 1: House of Maxwell, revealing how she was lured to his
- 30:47Speaker 1: island and raped three times a day as part of
- 30:50Speaker 1: his factory of abuse. I mean, every time we read
- 30:56Speaker 1: something like this, it just takes a little bit more
- 31:00Speaker 1: of a chunk out of me as far as me
- 31:03Speaker 1: believing in humanity. That somebody would have the, I don't
- 31:08Speaker 1: even know, the desire to do this to another human
- 31:12Speaker 1: being is just so depraved and so disgusting that words
- 31:18Speaker 1: can't even begin to explain it. and raped up to
- 31:22Speaker 1: three times a day? Sheesh. This article was authored by
- 31:29Speaker 1: Monica Greep. A survivor of Jeffrey Epstein has spoken out
- 31:34Speaker 1: for the first time in a BBC documentary describing how
- 31:38Speaker 1: she was lured to his private island, where she was
- 31:41Speaker 1: forced to visit his ice-cold, pitch-black bedroom and raped up
- 31:45Speaker 1: to three times a day as part of his factory
- 31:48Speaker 1: of abuse. Now, remember... How many women have not come forward?
- 31:52Speaker 1: How many of these girls and who are women now
- 31:55Speaker 1: were abused by Epstein? And we don't know their their
- 31:58Speaker 1: full story, right? Like we always talk about, it's only
- 32:02Speaker 1: a little drop in the bucket what we have heard.
- 32:05Speaker 1: And that's why you know that this went much deeper
- 32:09Speaker 1: than the authorities even want to let on. Juliette Bryant,
- 32:14Speaker 1: from Cape Town, South Africa, was a 20-year-old aspiring model
- 32:18Speaker 1: when she was first introduced to the billionaire pedophile, eh,
- 32:22Speaker 1: billionaire is debatable, who told her she had the most
- 32:25Speaker 1: beautiful figure he had ever seen, and promised a flyer
- 32:28Speaker 1: to New York to launch her career. Where have we
- 32:31Speaker 1: heard this story before? One of Epstein's go-to moves, right?
- 32:35Speaker 1: Remember in the show Seinfeld, the episode about the go-to move?
- 32:39Speaker 1: Jerry had the go-to move. And then, you know, Putty
- 32:42Speaker 1: stole his go-to move. This is Epstein's go-to move right here.
- 32:46Speaker 1: All of these scumbags like him and Jean-Luc Brunel, they
- 32:50Speaker 1: love this one. Oh, we'll launch your modeling career. You
- 32:53Speaker 1: can trust us. Look, we're big shots. Look at all
- 32:55Speaker 1: the people we know. Look at all the friends we have.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Look at all of our connections. So you're thinking as
- 33:01Speaker 1: a young lady, hey, look, this is my shot. I'm
- 33:04Speaker 1: going to make it. I'm going to finally be able
- 33:05Speaker 1: to make it in Hollywood or New York, whatever it is.
- 33:08Speaker 1: And I'm going to chase my dreams. Because that's what
- 33:11Speaker 1: these models are doing. What do you think? They wake
- 33:13Speaker 1: up and they're like, oh, well, my goal is to
- 33:16Speaker 1: go and be exploited by people like Epstein and Jean-Luc Brunel.
- 33:20Speaker 1: Let's be real. Have you seen Epstein and Jean-Luc Brunel?
- 33:23Speaker 1: If these dudes weren't rich, you really think that they'd
- 33:26Speaker 1: have any chance with any of these girls? And the
- 33:29Speaker 1: only reason they had any girls around them is because
- 33:33Speaker 1: they had money and power. And they were able to
- 33:37Speaker 1: exploit that money and power and used it as a
- 33:40Speaker 1: tool and a vehicle to abuse people, to traffic people,
- 33:45Speaker 1: to rape people. But instead, Juliet was taken on his
- 33:54Speaker 1: private jet to his Caribbean island where she became trapped
- 33:57Speaker 1: in the sex trafficking operation run by Epstein and operated
- 34:02Speaker 1: by Ghislaine Maxwell. Speaking in BBC series House of Maxwell,
- 34:06Speaker 1: which premieres on Monday night, Juliet tells how she watched
- 34:11Speaker 1: other survivors perform sex acts on Epstein and was sexually
- 34:15Speaker 1: assaulted by the predator on a number of occasions over
- 34:18Speaker 1: almost two years. She estimates she saw 60 girls and
- 34:22Speaker 1: women in the time she was there. Now think about
- 34:25Speaker 1: that for a minute, folks. And again... When we're talking
- 34:29Speaker 1: about this story, I just, I have to reiterate that
- 34:32Speaker 1: the most important thing to do is listen to the survivors.
- 34:35Speaker 1: They were there. They lived through this. Not secondhand knowledge,
- 34:40Speaker 1: not from me or anyone else. That's why whenever we
- 34:43Speaker 1: can hear from one of these survivors, you know, on
- 34:46Speaker 1: their own terms and telling their story, it's important because
- 34:50Speaker 1: when you listen to all of their stories and you
- 34:53Speaker 1: see how they all match up, it's rather obvious that
- 34:57Speaker 1: What was going on here. And it's crazy to think.
- 35:02Speaker 1: That everybody else around them. All the supposedly smartest people
- 35:06Speaker 1: in the world. Had no idea. That Epstein and Maxwell
- 35:10Speaker 1: were up to this. Things happened there that scared me
- 35:15Speaker 1: so deeply. That I can't even talk about them. She says.
- 35:18Speaker 1: He fed off the terror. That was something about the energy.
- 35:21Speaker 1: There was something about the energy of a girl being scared.
- 35:24Speaker 1: That he liked. One of those, like, energy vampires they
- 35:27Speaker 1: talk about, right? And these depraved lunatics, these maniacs, these sickos,
- 35:32Speaker 1: they get off on having this power over people. And
- 35:37Speaker 1: when you have somebody like Jeffrey Epstein, who is not
- 35:40Speaker 1: only somebody who is sadistic, but he has very depraved
- 35:45Speaker 1: and twisted proclivities, you add that all up, and you're
- 35:50Speaker 1: dealing with somebody who has the potential to be a monster.
- 35:55Speaker 1: And folks, make no mistake, that is exactly what Jeffrey
- 35:58Speaker 1: Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell are. Well, Epstein in past tense anyway,
- 36:04Speaker 1: but monsters. She also shares never-before-seen photos she took on
- 36:12Speaker 1: Epstein's island, including one of Maxwell and one of an
- 36:15Speaker 1: artwork depicting a woman being raped by a sea monster. Boy,
- 36:19Speaker 1: that sounds like a pleasant place, huh? artwork of a
- 36:23Speaker 1: woman being raped by a sea monster. It's hard to
- 36:30Speaker 1: even try and understand the psyche of people like Jeffrey
- 36:34Speaker 1: Epstein and Glenn Maxwell. And you just look at their
- 36:37Speaker 1: artwork and it's telling, right? Remember at the townhouse, how
- 36:41Speaker 1: he had the chess board with the chess pieces carved
- 36:44Speaker 1: in the likeness of his staff and workers. And he's
- 36:47Speaker 1: just a creepy dude. and this whole entire class of
- 36:50Speaker 1: people are creepy as well. Juliet, who in 2019 filed
- 37:00Speaker 1: a lawsuit against Epstein's estate alleging the former financier, pedophile,
- 37:05Speaker 1: had repeatedly raped her numerous times, explained she and other
- 37:09Speaker 1: survivors had been too afraid to speak out because Epstein
- 37:13Speaker 1: threatened her and her family. It was just like a factory,
- 37:16Speaker 1: she says. He was running a machine and Ghislaine Maxwell
- 37:20Speaker 1: was operating it. People ask why I went back. Nobody
- 37:23Speaker 1: disobeyed Epstein. And that's the thing, right? It's easy for
- 37:26Speaker 1: people to sit around and judge and say, oh, why
- 37:28Speaker 1: would you go back? Why didn't you just leave? You're
- 37:31Speaker 1: a grown ass woman. What's wrong with you? Well, when
- 37:34Speaker 1: you start adding all the other stuff to it that
- 37:36Speaker 1: goes along with situations like this, I've said it a
- 37:40Speaker 1: million times and I'll say it a million more. I'm
- 37:42Speaker 1: certainly not qualified to break down the psyche. You know,
- 37:46Speaker 1: all of the things that go into that, the trauma bonding,
- 37:50Speaker 1: the Stockholm syndrome, you know, there's a lot. And then
- 37:53Speaker 1: you add the threats on top of that. And when
- 37:56Speaker 1: you're dealing with somebody like Epstein, who is, you know,
- 37:58Speaker 1: very powerful, has a lot of powerful friends, you know,
- 38:02Speaker 1: it quantifies everything. So when you're someone like Juliet Bryant, who,
- 38:07Speaker 1: South Africa, young, aspiring model, certainly doesn't run in the
- 38:11Speaker 1: same circles that Jeffrey Epstein did, of course you're going
- 38:14Speaker 1: to be fearful, and of course you're going to do
- 38:17Speaker 1: what he wants you to do, especially once he has
- 38:19Speaker 1: his hooks into you. Now, however, she wants to shed
- 38:23Speaker 1: light on the industrial scale of the abuse she witnessed,
- 38:26Speaker 1: which involved carefully coordinated visas and travel plans for dozens
- 38:30Speaker 1: of girls and women from around the world... Over a
- 38:33Speaker 1: number of years. Yo, can we get a real investigation, please,
- 38:37Speaker 1: into all of this? Where's the Rico at? Yo, SDNY.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Southern District of New York. Are you ever going to
- 38:46Speaker 1: redeem yourselves? Stop with the BS and go after these people.
- 38:53Speaker 1: We're talking, you know, a survivor here going on the
- 38:56Speaker 1: record with the BBC talking about an intricate trafficking operation.
- 39:02Speaker 1: So again, when we're talking a trafficking operation, it wasn't
- 39:06Speaker 1: Epstein and Maxwell trafficking these girls back and forth to
- 39:09Speaker 1: each other. Where are all of the other moving parts?
- 39:12Speaker 1: And where are all of the Johns being outed like
- 39:15Speaker 1: they're being outed over in the Sarah Lawrence sex cult trial?
- 39:20Speaker 1: We've heard some names over there. Let's get some more
- 39:22Speaker 1: names going here. And these people who have been fighting
- 39:27Speaker 1: tooth and nail for their privacy and have been in
- 39:30Speaker 1: the luxury of not being scrutinized by the American press,
- 39:34Speaker 1: I think it's time for that to change. How many
- 39:37Speaker 1: more stories like this do you need to hear? Yo,
- 39:43Speaker 1: that is a very highly charged statement. And again, it's
- 40:07Speaker 1: something we can't discount. How many of these unnamed girls
- 40:11Speaker 1: that would show up if we're talking about the thousands,
- 40:13Speaker 1: where did they all go? Has anyone done a real
- 40:18Speaker 1: look at, you know, the travel nexus of all of
- 40:23Speaker 1: these girls? You know, it takes resources to do that
- 40:27Speaker 1: kind of stuff, though. And, you know, these outlets out
- 40:30Speaker 1: here that are always pumping their gums, this is a
- 40:33Speaker 1: perfect opportunity for them to really dig in. Because there's
- 40:37Speaker 1: a story here. There is definitely a story here. And
- 40:40Speaker 1: Juliet is not the only one with these tales to tell.
- 40:44Speaker 1: But her coming forward here, hopefully it gets the ball
- 40:47Speaker 1: rolling again. BBC2' s House of Maxwell charts how Ghislaine Maxwell
- 40:54Speaker 1: went from a multi-millionaire's daughter to a woman convicted of
- 40:58Speaker 1: grooming and trafficking underage girls. Juliet's ordeal started in 2002
- 41:04Speaker 1: when Juliet was approached by a beautiful American girl asking
- 41:08Speaker 1: if she was a model and whether she wanted to
- 41:10Speaker 1: meet her friend who she claimed had links to Victoria's Secret. Again,
- 41:15Speaker 1: another tie that binds to Les Wexner. When's this dude
- 41:18Speaker 1: going to be held accountable? Running around like the king
- 41:21Speaker 1: of New Albany, Ohio. Dude's never been held accountable for
- 41:25Speaker 1: anything in his life. His company... Victoria's Secret was directly
- 41:32Speaker 1: used by Jeffrey Epstein to commit criminal activity. I don't
- 41:36Speaker 1: understand how these people avoid prosecution. Go ahead and get
- 41:40Speaker 1: involved with one of your friends who's selling drugs and
- 41:44Speaker 1: get caught up in the investigation via phone call or
- 41:47Speaker 1: whatever and see how quickly your life becomes miserable. But,
- 41:51Speaker 1: you know, you use a company like Victoria's Secret and
- 41:54Speaker 1: you can traffic girls through there, use it as a lure,
- 41:57Speaker 1: all of it. And it's no big deal. No one
- 41:59Speaker 1: will ever get in trouble. And it'll take 20 years
- 42:01Speaker 1: for there to be any kind of real, you know,
- 42:05Speaker 1: just a justice, if you if you'll call it even
- 42:07Speaker 1: that on a civil level where people lose their jobs
- 42:11Speaker 1: and shit at Victoria's Secret like we've seen. But how
- 42:14Speaker 1: long did it take? How long did these people continue
- 42:18Speaker 1: to enrich themselves, continue to promote a poisonous culture at
- 42:23Speaker 1: Victoria's Secret from the top down? I was just a
- 42:29Speaker 1: young girl with hopes and dreams, and I thought I
- 42:31Speaker 1: could really make something of my life. Sort of a
- 42:34Speaker 1: modeling career, she said. Soon after, she presented her modeling
- 42:37Speaker 1: portfolio to Epstein in a hotel room, where he told
- 42:40Speaker 1: her that she had the most amazing figure I've ever
- 42:43Speaker 1: seen in my life. So she's in this room with Epstein,
- 42:47Speaker 1: and obviously her goal is to be a model, right? Look,
- 42:50Speaker 1: come on. That's like, at least when I was young anyway,
- 42:53Speaker 1: that was the dream of a lot of girls I knew. Oh,
- 42:56Speaker 1: I want to be a model. I want to walk
- 42:58Speaker 1: the runway. I want to be, you know, in this
- 43:01Speaker 1: magazine or in that magazine. Just like young boys, I
- 43:04Speaker 1: want to be an athlete. You know, I want to
- 43:06Speaker 1: be a baseball player. I want to be a football player. Bro,
- 43:08Speaker 1: you're 5'2. You're not playing football. Sorry. But that's the dream, right?
- 43:13Speaker 1: So this girl... meets this guy and he says to her, hey, look,
- 43:17Speaker 1: we can make this happen. I'm a big shot. I
- 43:19Speaker 1: can hook you up. Come into my web here and
- 43:23Speaker 1: I'll make sure that your dreams come true. And of course,
- 43:26Speaker 1: when we want something to be real, we want something
- 43:29Speaker 1: to be true. Our confirmation bias plays a role, right?
- 43:33Speaker 1: And we, you know, sometimes we're swayed. And especially when
- 43:37Speaker 1: you're young and you're naive and you don't have as
- 43:39Speaker 1: much experience in the world. A lot easier for these
- 43:42Speaker 1: predators to make these kinds of moves. And you see,
- 43:45Speaker 1: Epstein was very particular about the kind of girls he
- 43:48Speaker 1: went after. Epstein said he wanted to take Juliet to
- 43:53Speaker 1: New York to launch her modeling career, offering to pay
- 43:55Speaker 1: for her visa and ticket. I thought it was going
- 43:58Speaker 1: to be the most amazing opportunity of my life, Juliet recalls.
- 44:02Speaker 1: Now remember, she's from South Africa. So she's coming from
- 44:06Speaker 1: a different country, coming to America, and that's the dream
- 44:09Speaker 1: of a lot of people. Get to America and pursue
- 44:12Speaker 1: your goals, pursue your dreams with nobody bothering you. That's
- 44:16Speaker 1: how it used to be anyway. And she thought she
- 44:19Speaker 1: was doing that. But instead of flying to the U.S.,
- 44:24Speaker 1: Epstein's office phoned Juliet and said she would be flying
- 44:27Speaker 1: to Epstein's Island in the U.S. Virgin Islands. She assumed
- 44:30Speaker 1: the purpose of the trip was for a photo shoot
- 44:32Speaker 1: and immediately said yes. Yeah, that's what you would think, right?
- 44:35Speaker 1: You're a model. You meet this guy. He works at
- 44:37Speaker 1: Victoria's Secret, he says. He has an island. Common sense
- 44:41Speaker 1: would dictate that you're going to have a photo shoot.
- 44:45Speaker 1: Juliet recalls being astounded by the beauty of Epstein's notorious
- 44:49Speaker 1: island when she arrived. She discovered a pile of discarded
- 44:52Speaker 1: disposable cameras, which she used to take photographs of her
- 44:56Speaker 1: time on the Caribbean island. The photographs shown for the
- 45:00Speaker 1: first time in the documentary include ones of her posing
- 45:03Speaker 1: by the docks, photos of the small chalet in which
- 45:08Speaker 1: she stayed near the port, and a disturbing artwork showing
- 45:11Speaker 1: a deformed sea creature clambering on top of a naked
- 45:15Speaker 1: young woman. Man, that's crazy. She has all of these
- 45:18Speaker 1: photos still, and this is the first time that she's
- 45:20Speaker 1: releasing them. Look, it takes time. And each one of
- 45:24Speaker 1: these survivors of Epstein or survivors in general, they're going
- 45:28Speaker 1: to go at their own pace. And people just need
- 45:30Speaker 1: to respect that. When they're ready to go on the
- 45:32Speaker 1: record or they're ready to speak out, they'll do it.
- 45:35Speaker 1: But with somebody like Juliette Bryant, she's had these pictures
- 45:38Speaker 1: for a while. And obviously now, with this documentary coming out,
- 45:42Speaker 1: Maxwell going to prison, Epstein dead, Jean-Luc Brunel in a
- 45:46Speaker 1: jail cell, she felt a little more comfortable sharing them, obviously.
- 45:50Speaker 1: But it gives you a little bit of a look
- 45:51Speaker 1: behind the curtain and what was going on behind the scenes.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Because remember, these girls, they're the ones who lived it.
- 46:00Speaker 1: We're the ones just talking about it. It was a
- 46:04Speaker 1: naked girl, and there was like a big walrus it
- 46:07Speaker 1: looked like. The walrus was trying to rape her. It
- 46:11Speaker 1: was a very disturbing picture. I've never seen a picture
- 46:14Speaker 1: like that ever, she says. Other images show Juliet with
- 46:18Speaker 1: a camera inside Epstein's island home, Maxwell eating a meal
- 46:21Speaker 1: on a table, and Epstein's bedroom, which included a four-poster
- 46:26Speaker 1: bed with white bedding and mosquito netting. He had a
- 46:30Speaker 1: lot of weird stuff around his house. There were just
- 46:33Speaker 1: pictures of naked girls everywhere. And there were a lot
- 46:36Speaker 1: of naked pictures of Ghislaine, too. How many times do
- 46:39Speaker 1: we hear that? It was like they were, you know,
- 46:42Speaker 1: very upfront about it, right? Very brazen about Ghislaine Maxwell
- 46:47Speaker 1: and her being naked and the pictures of her being taken.
- 46:50Speaker 1: And for my money, that was all part of the
- 46:52Speaker 1: normalization process to groom the other girls. Well, you see,
- 46:56Speaker 1: head honcho Ghislaine does it. Look, we got pictures of
- 46:58Speaker 1: Miss Fancy Pants Ghislaine up here naked. It's no big deal.
- 47:01Speaker 1: It's just like Playboy. These are taken in taste. And
- 47:04Speaker 1: then each time, in increments, you know, you push the envelope.
- 47:09Speaker 1: Some girls, obviously, they worked faster. But it goes along
- 47:12Speaker 1: with the grooming process, right? Makes it easier for the
- 47:15Speaker 1: sick pervert to normalize things. But shortly after arriving on
- 47:21Speaker 1: the island, it became clear the trip was far from
- 47:24Speaker 1: the dream destination photoshoot she had imagined. Juliet was asked
- 47:28Speaker 1: to watch a movie with Epstein and another girl. To
- 47:31Speaker 1: her horror, the girl began performing a sex act on
- 47:34Speaker 1: the pedophile. I was absolutely petrified, Juliet recalls. I was
- 47:40Speaker 1: so young. I'd never seen anything like that. I was crying.
- 47:44Speaker 1: I just ran out of the room. I didn't know
- 47:46Speaker 1: what to do. Now again, remember, She says a girl.
- 47:51Speaker 1: I wonder who. And I can't help but wonder what
- 47:54Speaker 1: happened to these unnamed women. Girls. Then women now. There
- 48:00Speaker 1: was no hope of getting away. I was in a
- 48:02Speaker 1: foreign country with no money or cell phone or means
- 48:06Speaker 1: of communication. I just realized then I was completely trapped
- 48:10Speaker 1: and there was nothing I could do. Ghislaine was running
- 48:13Speaker 1: the girls and would tell us when we needed to
- 48:15Speaker 1: go to his bedroom. You couldn't say no. There was
- 48:18Speaker 1: just no option. She remembers his bedroom as being pitch
- 48:22Speaker 1: black and ice cold and says she disassociated with her
- 48:26Speaker 1: body as he silly assaulted her. It's really painful to
- 48:30Speaker 1: read that kind of stuff, honestly. I mean, I don't
- 48:33Speaker 1: know Juliet from any other stranger on the street, but
- 48:36Speaker 1: just basic human empathy. And to think about what my
- 48:42Speaker 1: sister or my girlfriend or my mother could have easily
- 48:46Speaker 1: been in the hands of somebody like this. And that
- 48:52Speaker 1: there was no justice for so long. It's just... How
- 48:58Speaker 1: do you, as a law enforcement person who worked on
- 49:02Speaker 1: this case, how do you look yourself in the mirror, right?
- 49:04Speaker 1: How do you come to terms with that? Then again,
- 49:06Speaker 1: a lot of these people are just... They don't have
- 49:09Speaker 1: a moral compass. It's just a job to them. I
- 49:16Speaker 1: tried to escape in my mind. I tried to pretend
- 49:19Speaker 1: it wasn't happening. Things happened there that scared me so
- 49:22Speaker 1: deeply that I can't even talk about them. He fed
- 49:25Speaker 1: off the terror. There was something about the energy of
- 49:27Speaker 1: a girl being scared that he liked. Well, that's typical
- 49:31Speaker 1: for bullies in general, but for these kind of people
- 49:34Speaker 1: who exploit women or boys or people who are more
- 49:37Speaker 1: vulnerable than them, They definitely get off on this. It's
- 49:41Speaker 1: all part of it. And the power play was definitely
- 49:45Speaker 1: something Epstein was into. We saw it with his whole life.
- 49:48Speaker 1: He used his money to manipulate people. He used these
- 49:51Speaker 1: depraved sexual acts to manipulate people. That was just in
- 49:55Speaker 1: his nature. When Juliet was first introduced to Ghislaine, she
- 50:00Speaker 1: was told that there were a couple but remains unconvinced
- 50:05Speaker 1: their relationship was ever romantic. The thing is... I didn't
- 50:09Speaker 1: see them hold hands or kiss once, she said. I
- 50:12Speaker 1: never saw them give each other a hug. To be honest,
- 50:15Speaker 1: I never saw them come close, so it definitely was
- 50:17Speaker 1: not a romantic relationship. Man, it's nice to hear Juliet
- 50:21Speaker 1: confirm what I've been thinking. I've said that for how long, folks?
- 50:24Speaker 1: There's no way these two were in a romantic relationship.
- 50:27Speaker 1: for my money, it's like the Americans, the show, the Americans,
- 50:31Speaker 1: when they put the two Soviets together and they acted
- 50:33Speaker 1: like they were a married couple kids and all of it. Well,
- 50:37Speaker 1: that's how these intelligence agencies work, right? They're, they're very shrewd.
- 50:41Speaker 1: They'll put together people and they'll have a whole entire
- 50:44Speaker 1: template built for them. And I'm convinced at this point,
- 50:48Speaker 1: that's what went down with Maxwell and Epstein, at least
- 50:51Speaker 1: on some level. Before she was sent home, Juliet was
- 50:56Speaker 1: threatened by Epstein, who told her of another girl who
- 50:59Speaker 1: had accused her of rape and ended up in jail
- 51:02Speaker 1: because he had planted drugs in her home. Juliet was
- 51:13Speaker 1: also warned her family was on a list. And we
- 51:16Speaker 1: know that Epstein had lists. Look what he did to
- 51:18Speaker 1: Bradley Edwards' family. Do you think he wasn't going to
- 51:21Speaker 1: follow these girls around? What about what Maxwell said to
- 51:24Speaker 1: Maria Farmer about where Maria Farmer liked to jog and
- 51:27Speaker 1: how Maxwell knew where she was? These people weren't above that,
- 51:32Speaker 1: making these threats. I just did as I was told,
- 51:41Speaker 1: she says. I was petrified of him. Who he was?
- 51:44Speaker 1: I knew crossing him would be a very bad idea.
- 51:47Speaker 1: Juliet was forced to return to the island for various periods,
- 51:50Speaker 1: on and off, for nearly two years. I was so
- 51:54Speaker 1: broken at that point. I just sort of went along
- 51:56Speaker 1: with it, she says. I never felt okay again after that.
- 52:00Speaker 1: Everything just fell to pieces. It's very, very hard to understand.
- 52:04Speaker 1: I am still trying to piece it all together. I
- 52:07Speaker 1: can't imagine. You know, she goes through her life and
- 52:10Speaker 1: has to deal with these memories, and I'm sure some
- 52:13Speaker 1: of them were repressed, and then all of this blows up.
- 52:17Speaker 1: She has to deal with it again. Has to be
- 52:19Speaker 1: a lot of trauma. Epstein killed himself in prison in
- 52:24Speaker 1: 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, allegedly. Maxwell
- 52:28Speaker 1: was convicted of trafficking girls in December last year, but
- 52:31Speaker 1: her lawyers are requesting a new trial after information emerged
- 52:36Speaker 1: about one of the jurors. Series producer Siri Isfren said
- 52:41Speaker 1: Juliet felt ready to come forward and tell her story
- 52:44Speaker 1: on camera after Epstein's death. Juliet is a remarkable woman.
- 52:49Speaker 1: She's a very strong, independent woman. Series producer Isfren said
- 52:53Speaker 1: ahead of the program's premiere. I think the arrest of
- 52:56Speaker 1: Ghislaine Maxwell spurred her on to feel less scared of
- 53:00Speaker 1: speaking out and less ashamed of speaking out. She really
- 53:03Speaker 1: felt strongly that she wanted to speak for those women,
- 53:07Speaker 1: those who were girls, some of them at the time
- 53:09Speaker 1: who can't. So look, she felt it was to the
- 53:13Speaker 1: point and she was at a point in her life
- 53:16Speaker 1: where it was time for her to step forward and
- 53:18Speaker 1: tell her story and add her voice to the other
- 53:20Speaker 1: voices that are demanding that enough is enough. So mad
- 53:26Speaker 1: props to Juliet for finding the courage to do this
- 53:30Speaker 1: because it's not easy. It can't be. Obviously, I have
- 53:33Speaker 1: no idea. I wouldn't even begin to try and project
- 53:36Speaker 1: what it must be like, you know, laying there at night.
- 53:38Speaker 1: Do I want to bring this stuff out in public?
- 53:40Speaker 1: I'm going to have to deal with a bunch of people,
- 53:42Speaker 1: you know, interviews and my life could change all kinds
- 53:45Speaker 1: of stuff. But sometimes the truth is so important and
- 53:50Speaker 1: the information you have is so important that it's it's
- 53:53Speaker 1: worth it. navigating the minefield. I think the other thing
- 54:01Speaker 1: she felt she wanted to get across was the complexity
- 54:04Speaker 1: of this sex trafficking operation in terms of when she
- 54:07Speaker 1: describes the visas, traveling. If you just look at how
- 54:11Speaker 1: many different women from different countries, from different years, and
- 54:15Speaker 1: I think she really wanted to convey how masterful they
- 54:17Speaker 1: were at grooming women and girls and how well they
- 54:21Speaker 1: did that for such a length of time. And it's
- 54:25Speaker 1: very important to point that out. This has never been
- 54:28Speaker 1: a conspiracy theory, folks, as far as the core principles
- 54:32Speaker 1: of what Epstein was up to. This has always been
- 54:36Speaker 1: an international criminal enterprise. And there's more people out there
- 54:42Speaker 1: like Brunel. You really think that Brunel was the only
- 54:44Speaker 1: one who was procuring for Epstein over in Europe? Stop it.
- 54:49Speaker 1: So who's running the next big ring? Where are these
- 54:53Speaker 1: next psychos hanging out? And are the remnants of Jeffrey
- 54:58Speaker 1: Epstein's operation ever going to be brought to justice? If
- 55:05Speaker 1: you'd like to contact me, you can do that at
