- 0:37Speaker 3: Very pleasant a pointing to you. You're listening to ask
- 0:39Speaker 3: the expert w c HS the Voice of Charleston. It
- 0:41Speaker 3: is Wednesday morning. Is cold out there? If you haven't
- 0:43Speaker 3: left the house yet, Bundle up a little bit, fut
- 0:45Speaker 3: a little extra scarf around your neck or something.
- 0:46Speaker 4: It is cold, cold cold, No snow or anything. It's
- 0:48Speaker 4: just cold. That's nos crunching.
- 0:50Speaker 5: It is cold. I was telling Fred before I came
- 0:53Speaker 5: on the ring. Alert at Snowshoe notified me three three
- 1:01Speaker 5: am this morning that there was a winter storm coming,
- 1:04Speaker 5: like an urgent message. I wish it hadn't been at
- 1:08Speaker 5: three or three because I have been up since three
- 1:11Speaker 5: oh three. Once I was awakened, I couldn't go back
- 1:14Speaker 5: to sleep. So those listeners that might be in snowshoe
- 1:18Speaker 5: if you haven't looked outside, I guess there's something coming.
- 1:22Speaker 5: I asked Steve the animal, because I'm planning to go
- 1:24Speaker 5: up there this afternoon or tomorrow to Stoma Bill Ride,
- 1:27Speaker 5: and he said, well, I have a friend of mine.
- 1:29Speaker 5: It's kind of stuck up there. So I asked Steve,
- 1:31Speaker 5: I said, would you get a hold of your friend
- 1:34Speaker 5: and see if I can get up on that mountain
- 1:36Speaker 5: or not?
- 1:37Speaker 2: That was my plans.
- 1:38Speaker 5: Maybe probably not this afternoon because I'm operating since three.
- 1:43Speaker 4: A little tired now, no doubt.
- 1:45Speaker 5: That are doing nap and I never naped, so anyway,
- 1:48Speaker 5: that's uh, that's my waiting and experience this morning. But yes,
- 1:53Speaker 5: it is cold, Winfield. The river is chunks of ice.
- 1:59Speaker 5: Those who not live near or by the river see
- 2:02Speaker 5: the river. It's not froze over, but there's large chunks
- 2:05Speaker 5: of ice coming down, flowing very slowly. We have a
- 2:09Speaker 5: lot of towboat traffic, you know in Orange Canal River.
- 2:14Speaker 5: In Canal River is relatively a short river and for
- 2:19Speaker 5: merchandise to be moved up and down a lot of
- 2:21Speaker 5: coal gases and things like that, so it breaks the
- 2:25Speaker 5: ice up. But if it stays like this and that
- 2:28Speaker 5: is not I think next week is supposed to be
- 2:30Speaker 5: as cold, if not cold something.
- 2:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know. It's a spell, that's for sure.
- 2:34Speaker 5: So that's what we're looking at. And but you know
- 2:37Speaker 5: it's you still have to get out there. And I'm
- 2:40Speaker 5: not a stay at home person, as you can.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Tell by the way listening to the radio of this morning,
- 2:45Speaker 3: that voice is Larry Dawson. Larr Dawson's bike in twenty
- 2:48Speaker 3: twenty five.
- 2:49Speaker 5: Yeah, we'll just call me Larry.
- 2:50Speaker 4: That's right, Just Larry Dawson's here this morning.
- 2:52Speaker 5: And let me tell you what's Larry's or Larry's mind
- 2:55Speaker 5: or agenda that the listening audience that is probably the
- 2:59Speaker 5: on what's he? What's he talking about? A year ago today,
- 3:04Speaker 5: I came on this radio and announced that to Stevens
- 3:07Speaker 5: Automotive Group had taken the facility over. And I did
- 3:12Speaker 5: my best the following year this past year to promote is,
- 3:16Speaker 5: you know, because I want them to succeed. But I
- 3:20Speaker 5: just didn't want to go home and they knew that.
- 3:22Speaker 5: And there was a little building next door that I
- 3:25Speaker 5: just go over and kind of fall around and hang out.
- 3:28Speaker 5: But my love has always been buying cars. What the
- 3:31Speaker 5: grind had became after thirty seven years and birthdays and birthdays,
- 3:36Speaker 5: which I just had one was the everyday grind of
- 3:40Speaker 5: promoting retail employees. And I had wonderful employees, so there
- 3:47Speaker 5: were no excuse by any means. It's just being there
- 3:51Speaker 5: every day. So when I left and turned the keys
- 3:55Speaker 5: over to Richard and Chase, in which I think is
- 3:58Speaker 5: doing an excellent job and you want them to, I
- 4:02Speaker 5: still had the desire of the one thing that I
- 4:06Speaker 5: really liked doing was buying cars. But what followed me
- 4:10Speaker 5: was contacts. People calling me say, hey, I know you're retired,
- 4:14Speaker 5: but I know you know you're no longer there, but
- 4:18Speaker 5: I've got this car, And so I followed up and did.
- 4:22Speaker 5: What I enjoy doing is doing the concierge service, lots
- 4:26Speaker 5: of times, going to people's house for different circumstances. I'm
- 4:29Speaker 5: not instant gratification. If you want that, call Carvana. They'll
- 4:33Speaker 5: send you some kind of little figure on your phone
- 4:36Speaker 5: and you can take it for what it's worth, and
- 4:38Speaker 5: yeah they'll show up with a check. But there's a
- 4:40Speaker 5: lot more than just it's not that simple. Well, Larry
- 4:43Speaker 5: comes along that, you know, if I have to all
- 4:45Speaker 5: make house calls. I got a call yesterday from a
- 4:48Speaker 5: friend of mine in a mobile home business. He said,
- 4:51Speaker 5: I don't know if you're interested. I know you're kind
- 4:53Speaker 5: of retired. But a friend of mine called lives in Florida,
- 4:56Speaker 5: brother died, lives in Boone County, has two or three cars,
- 5:00Speaker 5: need someone to help them. Would you be willing to
- 5:03Speaker 5: do that? I said, send her my name a number,
- 5:05Speaker 5: send me her name a number. I will call her tomorrow.
- 5:08Speaker 5: And yes, I'll do it. And there's where I sell.
- 5:13Speaker 5: I own the trademark or the copyright till we buy cars,
- 5:18Speaker 5: and have for almost.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Two decades.
- 5:21Speaker 5: Until COVID came along. No one ever talked about buying
- 5:25Speaker 5: cars that would come along. There's a shortage now. Everybody's
- 5:28Speaker 5: got a little shingle hanging out there. Will we buy cars?
- 5:30Speaker 5: They're infringing up on me, but so bent. But where
- 5:35Speaker 5: I have the essence of time now and I can
- 5:39Speaker 5: go slowly. I'm not pressed by anyone in the word,
- 5:43Speaker 5: especially the word profit, because I'm not doing this for money.
- 5:48Speaker 5: I mean, is there money at the end of it? Well, yeah,
- 5:50Speaker 5: it pays a little bit of ghastly expense and this
- 5:52Speaker 5: and that. But I don't have that pressure every day expense.
- 5:56Speaker 5: I'm enjoying my retirement. I'm slowly settling in and finding Larry.
- 6:01Speaker 5: I did keep off my dealer license. I do have
- 6:04Speaker 5: a shingle, and I do have a desk in office
- 6:06Speaker 5: and all the things I need to have. But what
- 6:09Speaker 5: really helped me in making this decision when I decided
- 6:13Speaker 5: to go and did leave and went over I don't
- 6:19Speaker 5: like to use in the word open up to start
- 6:20Speaker 5: occupying another space. A gentleman that I've known for many years.
- 6:25Speaker 5: His name is Doug Craigo, synonymous with car business West
- 6:29Speaker 5: Virginia Auto Sales owned it for I don't know two
- 6:33Speaker 5: or three decades he and I. Doug might be a
- 6:35Speaker 5: touch older me, but we have been acquaintance's friends, business
- 6:41Speaker 5: relations for many years, with a lot of respect for
- 6:45Speaker 5: each other. At least I have for him, and I
- 6:47Speaker 5: believe he has for me. When I was packing my
- 6:50Speaker 5: office up on a Sunday or Saturday, I can't remember,
- 6:53Speaker 5: he stopped by and he said, well, what are you
- 6:56Speaker 5: going to do, Larry? I said, well, I'm going to
- 6:58Speaker 5: go overn that building there that own I'm going to
- 7:01Speaker 5: set up shop and I'm just going to do whatever
- 7:03Speaker 5: Larry wants to do. Buy a few cars. I have
- 7:07Speaker 5: a tremendous amount of customers, not retail. I had a
- 7:12Speaker 5: lot of retail. I said that Stevens will take care
- 7:14Speaker 5: of them. But on the wholesale end that I have
- 7:16Speaker 5: supplied cars too, I think I'll mingle on that, do
- 7:19Speaker 5: some appraisals.
- 7:21Speaker 4: Maybe.
- 7:21Speaker 5: I had a couple of lawyers that contact me about
- 7:24Speaker 5: doing some expert testimony to work, and I told him,
- 7:27Speaker 5: I said I'll do that, but not today. You know,
- 7:30Speaker 5: I just need to relax and find myself. I didn't
- 7:33Speaker 5: realize it was going to take a year, but that's okay.
- 7:36Speaker 5: So he said, well, Larry, I think I'm selling my
- 7:40Speaker 5: store to the Greed family. I think the Greed family, okay,
- 7:43Speaker 5: the wonderful family and Cross Lanes Dentistry and other things.
- 7:47Speaker 5: And so they were conversing about buying. A month or
- 7:51Speaker 5: two went by and they bought his dealership, and so
- 7:58Speaker 5: he came over. I had another office building. I was
- 8:01Speaker 5: building an office for myself and I just duplicated the
- 8:03Speaker 5: office similar to what we're setting in, and he occupies
- 8:08Speaker 5: that space. So he and I co work together. He
- 8:11Speaker 5: does his thing, I do my thing. He's a great company,
- 8:14Speaker 5: he's a very pleasant person to be around. And we're
- 8:18Speaker 5: just two older car guys that didn't want to go home,
- 8:21Speaker 5: that got tired of the daily grind and all the
- 8:24Speaker 5: things that takes to continue operating in this environment. The
- 8:29Speaker 5: automobile business is no different. For what's going on here.
- 8:32Speaker 5: I see a lot of movement in this building, a
- 8:34Speaker 5: lot of remodeling. You all have stepped your game up.
- 8:38Speaker 5: If you're going to be in the automobile business, you
- 8:40Speaker 5: better step your game up. If you're going to be
- 8:42Speaker 5: in the food business, if you're going to be in
- 8:44Speaker 5: a retail business, you better step your game up. And
- 8:47Speaker 5: that comes with a huge cost. Now, the smaller you are, yes,
- 8:51Speaker 5: it's a lesser cost, but it's a cost with the
- 8:56Speaker 5: adversements and the promoting and the exchanging of goods and
- 9:01Speaker 5: exchanging of money and all the things goes along. It's
- 9:05Speaker 5: becoming through the internet. It's not the mom and pop
- 9:08Speaker 5: shop that I started in nineteen eighty seven. It's the
- 9:11Speaker 5: way beyond that. And I was faced with that decision,
- 9:16Speaker 5: and I think I made the right I know I
- 9:18Speaker 5: made the right decision. Richard and Chase kept my employees,
- 9:22Speaker 5: which was meant a tremendous amount to me. Two of
- 9:27Speaker 5: them are still there. One them retired and the other
- 9:29Speaker 5: one decided to go into barrow business. But the two
- 9:32Speaker 5: in the bike, which had been with me for eternity,
- 9:35Speaker 5: or still there. And it's wonderful news for them and myself.
- 9:41Speaker 5: And it's not conflicting because I'm really not in the
- 9:43Speaker 5: retail business. I'm supplying inventory for some dealers that I
- 9:47Speaker 5: have bought for for many years, and I'm doing it
- 9:49Speaker 5: over my time when I want to. But to promoting
- 9:53Speaker 5: of we buy cars, that seems like everybody's grabbed and duplicated.
- 9:57Speaker 4: Maybe I'm to crack down.
- 10:00Speaker 5: I've Judge Douglas and I talked about I shared this
- 10:04Speaker 5: with him one day and he said, hey, you know yeah,
- 10:06Speaker 5: I said, you know, Jim, probably my younger days. But
- 10:11Speaker 5: I'm not gonna make any ways I originated, I started it,
- 10:14Speaker 5: and I guess maybe it's the compliments made that the
- 10:18Speaker 5: others decided to follow.
- 10:19Speaker 4: Me for once.
- 10:20Speaker 3: You know, Michael Buffer, then let's get ready to rumble guy.
- 10:22Speaker 3: He like he is litigious as heck. He takes everybody
- 10:25Speaker 3: to court. If they try to use his catchphrase, you're saying,
- 10:27Speaker 3: you know, he's protected that shield a long time.
- 10:29Speaker 5: But there's a plaque on my wall in my office
- 10:32Speaker 5: that I have that trademark and I've had it for
- 10:34Speaker 5: a long time and I continue to use it. But
- 10:37Speaker 5: that's what my plans and that's what I have been doing,
- 10:40Speaker 5: is the listening audience. If you have a loved one,
- 10:44Speaker 5: if you have it, something you come up in your life. Yes,
- 10:47Speaker 5: you can call the one eight hundred Carvon. You're gonna
- 10:49Speaker 5: get funny little numbers sent to you, a little list
- 10:52Speaker 5: of a laundry list that you've got to jump through,
- 10:54Speaker 5: and hoops and all that, and you know it doesn't
- 10:57Speaker 5: work at the end. Sometimes. You know, car is driven
- 11:01Speaker 5: by the public's money. They are publicly traded. If they
- 11:05Speaker 5: need to raise money, they create more stock and sell it.
- 11:09Speaker 5: And you know, I'm just Larry.
- 11:12Speaker 3: You want a quick two minute story about about Caravana.
- 11:16Speaker 3: It was things that converge in life are sometimes strange.
- 11:19Speaker 3: I'm a big listener. I love talk radio, but I
- 11:21Speaker 3: also love podcasts, and you know, they're basically the same
- 11:24Speaker 3: thing anymore. And there's a podcast I listened to that
- 11:27Speaker 3: does like people will reach out for investigations and weird
- 11:31Speaker 3: things that's happened to them, like they have no solution
- 11:33Speaker 3: to it. There's been things like, you know, there's a
- 11:34Speaker 3: song that I heard at a at a department store
- 11:36Speaker 3: that I know I heard one other time in my life,
- 11:38Speaker 3: but I don't know who it is. Can you help
- 11:39Speaker 3: me find out who made this song or whatever it was?
- 11:41Speaker 3: Things like that, And this particular one the person purchased
- 11:44Speaker 3: a car and their title vanished and they couldn't find
- 11:48Speaker 3: the title. They were going through all this rigmor world.
- 11:50Speaker 3: People kept on trying to like take their car, think
- 11:52Speaker 3: that it was represented like all that they were going
- 11:54Speaker 3: It was like they felt like they were haunted by
- 11:56Speaker 3: this car because of the people that kept on coming
- 11:57Speaker 3: after it. They couldn't find the title on it. The
- 12:00Speaker 3: higher apex of the story everything hinged on the fact
- 12:03Speaker 3: that they bought it through Carvonia and they couldn't get
- 12:05Speaker 3: any of the paper work for it.
- 12:07Speaker 4: You can be It was an hour long episode and
- 12:09Speaker 4: it was all about.
- 12:10Speaker 5: That you can google and read and read. And my
- 12:12Speaker 5: answer to people is how can you pay more and
- 12:16Speaker 5: self or less? It doesn't work? How can they pay
- 12:20Speaker 5: you this enormous amount of money, but advertise on the
- 12:22Speaker 5: other side with these low prices. It doesn't work that way.
- 12:27Speaker 4: You know.
- 12:28Speaker 5: It's smoking mirrors where I come into play, and I
- 12:32Speaker 5: by no means of my volume. I I hunt and
- 12:35Speaker 5: peck the same way as I type on a keyboard
- 12:38Speaker 5: with one finger. But I can get it done. I'm
- 12:41Speaker 5: slower in the nice thing.
- 12:43Speaker 4: You make less typos, see you know, I mean you
- 12:45Speaker 4: can take that. You can tell the other.
- 12:47Speaker 5: Thing that that does not involve me, And in the
- 12:50Speaker 5: larger institution that is going out buying cars, is that
- 12:55Speaker 5: I'm the guy. It's there's not a face behind me.
- 13:01Speaker 5: It's Larry DAWs. It's something he has done his entire life.
- 13:05Speaker 5: I opened up in eighty seven and took a bottle
- 13:07Speaker 5: of white shoe polish and rolled on a window we
- 13:10Speaker 5: buy cars. I never staggered off at even when I
- 13:14Speaker 5: had no money to buy cars. I advertised we buy
- 13:17Speaker 5: cars until COVID came along. No one ever did that
- 13:20Speaker 5: COVID come along, there was a shortage. Everybody jumped on
- 13:23Speaker 5: the bandwagon started doing it. So, yes, the market out
- 13:27Speaker 5: there is somewhat. If you drive by the dealerships, you're
- 13:30Speaker 5: going to see a lot of inventory. Well, a lot
- 13:32Speaker 5: of invatory creates a lot of trades. The market has
- 13:36Speaker 5: not fulfilled the void that we was created during COVID,
- 13:42Speaker 5: but it's fastly returning. And where I come into play.
- 13:47Speaker 5: Just the other day, I sent a friend of mine
- 13:50Speaker 5: to a dealer and I just texted himself, I'm sending
- 13:53Speaker 5: a friend they have a trade in they want to
- 13:55Speaker 5: buy a car, because that's not what I do any
- 13:59Speaker 5: longer now. In some cases, in a lot of cases
- 14:03Speaker 5: where people has lease, they don't have the sales tax credit,
- 14:08Speaker 5: or they just have that third or fourth or extra car,
- 14:11Speaker 5: and is you know, it costs money sitting there. That's
- 14:15Speaker 5: where they contact me. And once again, if you can't
- 14:18Speaker 5: come to me, I'll come to you. Time is on
- 14:21Speaker 5: my side. I'm not sitting there pressing with a lot
- 14:25Speaker 5: of acivity going on to where I can't break away
- 14:28Speaker 5: and say, yeah, look, I want to make a trip
- 14:30Speaker 5: to Boon County here in the next few days, depending
- 14:33Speaker 5: on the weather, depends on when this lady comes in
- 14:35Speaker 5: from Florida, and I want to help her and probably
- 14:39Speaker 5: buy these vehicles, or at least make a real hard
- 14:41Speaker 5: attempt to buy vehicles. And that is what Larry Dawson
- 14:45Speaker 5: is now doing.
- 14:47Speaker 3: I think that we're better off as a community for
- 14:50Speaker 3: Larry Dawson doing that. And I was just thinking about
- 14:52Speaker 3: it with your year. Although you're I guess a semi
- 14:55Speaker 3: retired officially, Yeah, but you're still doing the work. And
- 14:57Speaker 3: if you're still doing the work in twenty twenty seve,
- 15:00Speaker 3: which is it, which is right around the corner. Now
- 15:02Speaker 3: you'll be celebrating your fortieth and WHS will be celebrating
- 15:05Speaker 3: it's one hundredth. So we should do something together, you know,
- 15:08Speaker 3: a combined one hundred and forty years of experience.
- 15:10Speaker 5: Right well, when I ventured off to I guess sunset
- 15:16Speaker 5: my career the words I used that has not changed.
- 15:20Speaker 5: You know, nothing's forever, and I do not go at
- 15:23Speaker 5: it as hard. I wouldn't have got up at three
- 15:25Speaker 5: or three if I hadn't got a work this morning
- 15:27Speaker 5: from the ring camera, the conduct Snushhoe. But I can
- 15:33Speaker 5: now go with ease, not being pressed, not having to
- 15:37Speaker 5: do anything, And that's a really nice luxury of life
- 15:41Speaker 5: because the person on the other side will they will
- 15:45Speaker 5: detect that if you're pressing. They know that if you
- 15:49Speaker 5: come in casual and there's where I'm at, I'm the
- 15:52Speaker 5: casual concierge of buying automobiles that if we can get together,
- 15:57Speaker 5: I'll feel the knee that you need by buying your car.
- 16:01Speaker 5: I've done it forever. It's simply. It's simple with me,
- 16:07Speaker 5: and I make it very simple. There's not a lot
- 16:09Speaker 5: of paperwork. There's not a lot of anything other than
- 16:13Speaker 5: exchanging of the money, some paperwork and the title. I'm
- 16:18Speaker 5: not going to mention names of prominent people in this
- 16:23Speaker 5: area that we're in, but i can tell you this
- 16:28Speaker 5: from politicians, to attorneys, to bankers, to people that did
- 16:33Speaker 5: not want to be bothered with the influx in giving
- 16:38Speaker 5: out all their information to an entity they do not
- 16:44Speaker 5: know who they are, because once they get that information,
- 16:47Speaker 5: they're free to do with it what they want to.
- 16:50Speaker 5: It's between you and I. When I come to your house,
- 16:54Speaker 5: I tell no one, and that information goes nowhere. Now,
- 16:58Speaker 5: I do have to have certain documents title. You copy
- 17:03Speaker 5: your driver's license, I'll exchange a check for it. I'll
- 17:06Speaker 5: hand you your license plate. But I'm not going to
- 17:09Speaker 5: tell me anyone.
- 17:09Speaker 4: You know.
- 17:10Speaker 3: You bring up a great point with that, And although
- 17:11Speaker 3: this isn't the nuts and the bolts of what you
- 17:14Speaker 3: do in your program when you come in here and talk.
- 17:15Speaker 3: But there is some legitimacy to that. I was just
- 17:18Speaker 3: reading an article yesterday from EFF the Electronic Frontier Foundation,
- 17:22Speaker 3: who does a lot of work in privacy space and
- 17:23Speaker 3: stuff like that, and so they came out with like
- 17:25Speaker 3: their worst apps of twenty twenty four from a privacy standpoint. Now,
- 17:29Speaker 3: you would think with all the buzz that's going on
- 17:32Speaker 3: in national politics and stuff like that, that would be a
- 17:34Speaker 3: social media app or something that would be the worst
- 17:36Speaker 3: for you as far as privacy leaks and stuff goes.
- 17:38Speaker 3: It's not the case at all. It's things like my
- 17:40Speaker 3: Fitness Pal, things that you give permissions for that like
- 17:44Speaker 3: track you all the time, because it's like, oh, it's
- 17:46Speaker 3: tracking your steps, it's telling you how far you go,
- 17:49Speaker 3: different things like that. Any car app, anything that you
- 17:52Speaker 3: use in your car that uses your car for anything
- 17:55Speaker 3: that tracks distance or things. I mean, it's not just
- 17:58Speaker 3: the location that it's tracking all your information that you're
- 18:01Speaker 3: using during that time, all the stuff you search for
- 18:03Speaker 3: on your phone, the music you're playing, like all this stuff.
- 18:05Speaker 3: I mean, these things are getting vacuumed up by apps
- 18:08Speaker 3: that you don't even they have no reason to know
- 18:10Speaker 3: this information from you. So before you download an app
- 18:13Speaker 3: and you fill in all your information.
- 18:15Speaker 4: To maybe see.
- 18:17Speaker 3: You want to get into a car, you're looking to
- 18:19Speaker 3: sell a car or something like that, maybe see if
- 18:21Speaker 3: there's any local options for something like that first, because
- 18:23Speaker 3: you have no idea in this. I mean, it's not
- 18:26Speaker 3: just TikTok that's a threat as far as leaking data goes,
- 18:31Speaker 3: as much as that's in the news, Frankly, all the
- 18:33Speaker 3: US companies collect that exact same data, and it's just
- 18:36Speaker 3: they're ready for like a really easy subpoena to give
- 18:39Speaker 3: to the federal government. Here, you got to be careful
- 18:41Speaker 3: of that stuff.
- 18:42Speaker 5: You have to be very careful. And I'm fortunate to
- 18:46Speaker 5: have my health and have I think a good reputation
- 18:50Speaker 5: on tout in town in this area that allows me
- 18:53Speaker 5: to do this. And here's a very good example. Tomorrow
- 18:57Speaker 5: the patents will be on here common Harvey one of
- 18:59Speaker 5: the two. I don't know which one, but Harvey has
- 19:01Speaker 5: stepped back. I mean he's kind of twilighting his career
- 19:05Speaker 5: to sunsetting whatever the word, but he's still active. Harvey.
- 19:09Speaker 5: I have a lot of respect for Harvey. I have
- 19:11Speaker 5: a lot of respect for Tom, and over the last
- 19:16Speaker 5: I don't know, a few years, there's been a couple
- 19:19Speaker 5: times that I think Harvey and the last time was Tom.
- 19:24Speaker 5: They were the executor or administrator of an estate and
- 19:27Speaker 5: they're involved in automobile and they basically came down, dropped
- 19:32Speaker 5: the vehicle off, had me analyze it and says, share
- 19:35Speaker 5: a you know, share a figure with me because you'll
- 19:38Speaker 5: be fair. And I did, and I bought the car.
- 19:41Speaker 5: It's satisfied everybody's needs. I've had sheriffs of counties call
- 19:46Speaker 5: me when someone becomes if they don't have family helping them,
- 19:50Speaker 5: and they become incapacitated and there's assets there. They have
- 19:54Speaker 5: to sell a house off, they have to sell the
- 19:56Speaker 5: car off. When the sheriff calls me, I show up.
- 20:00Speaker 5: I said, we have a car because it's a situation
- 20:04Speaker 5: that they need to raise the money to further the
- 20:07Speaker 5: existence of this person, the commodities, the house. I've went
- 20:11Speaker 5: to houses and bottom now. It doesn't happen fast. And
- 20:14Speaker 5: there's where I stand apart your car. Rona wants it
- 20:16Speaker 5: right now. You know Great Big Joe's Auto Mall. They
- 20:21Speaker 5: want it right now. You have to wait, and I
- 20:24Speaker 5: mean I there was one tweel. I believe I waited
- 20:27Speaker 5: ninety days, but it has to go through the courts,
- 20:30Speaker 5: and I understand that. And once again time, I have
- 20:34Speaker 5: all the time in the world that to wait, because
- 20:37Speaker 5: no base pushing me.
- 20:38Speaker 4: Now that's a great point, man, I mean, that's so.
- 20:41Speaker 4: I love the vibe. The vibe is excellent.
- 20:42Speaker 5: Well that's where I go at And still do I
- 20:46Speaker 5: still have the phone calls concerning evaluations of automobiles to
- 20:53Speaker 5: an estate. Not so much as I used to. I
- 20:59Speaker 5: used to be a little bit of in that divorce court.
- 21:01Speaker 5: Some of divorce attorneys would call me said, you know,
- 21:03Speaker 5: they're arguing over the car. You know, can you give
- 21:05Speaker 5: me a fair evaluation? And would you buy the car
- 21:08Speaker 5: so I can present to either side. This is from
- 21:11Speaker 5: an expert. Your evaluation, mister, is way too high, and missus,
- 21:16Speaker 5: it's way too low. And here's evaluation, and we can
- 21:19Speaker 5: back it up with a check. Well, I fact comes
- 21:22Speaker 5: true and it gets backed up by the check. If not,
- 21:24Speaker 5: they settle and go on. You know, I don't charge,
- 21:28Speaker 5: call someone else and see if they don't charge, right exactly,
- 21:32Speaker 5: caller and for the forensic accountant and which I happen
- 21:37Speaker 5: to know one. He's a great guy and his wife
- 21:38Speaker 5: is a divorce attorney. But you know that's they do
- 21:41Speaker 5: this for a living. I do this not so much
- 21:44Speaker 5: for a living, to occupy time and give me something
- 21:48Speaker 5: to do.
- 21:48Speaker 3: Yeah, and you're good at it, So there's no reason
- 21:51Speaker 3: to rob folks of some expertise out there that's really
- 21:53Speaker 3: hard to fill. Otherwise, well, there's not other people to
- 21:55Speaker 3: do that.
- 21:56Speaker 5: How many sports amounts? Most sports announcers? Where were they
- 21:59Speaker 5: before on the field?
- 22:00Speaker 4: Yeah? Absolutely.
- 22:01Speaker 5: Father Time called up on them, said, hey, you better
- 22:06Speaker 5: quit plane is You're really gonna get hurt. So they
- 22:08Speaker 5: go home, they buy the yacht or buy the ferrari
- 22:11Speaker 5: and you know, get a divorce or whatever, and go, boy,
- 22:13Speaker 5: I'm bored. Then WC or WHS, CBS, you know, somebody
- 22:19Speaker 5: calls them fox is, Hey, you put some headphones on
- 22:22Speaker 5: and talking to microphone. You know, we're gonna pay you
- 22:24Speaker 5: some crazy amount of money. But they make good sports announcers,
- 22:28Speaker 5: you know what, because they were in the game. They're
- 22:31Speaker 5: not playing the game. They were in the game, and
- 22:34Speaker 5: they're talented the individuals.
- 22:35Speaker 4: And they can offer insights that people that never played
- 22:37Speaker 4: the game don't have.
- 22:39Speaker 5: There's a professional football player that happened to be maybe
- 22:41Speaker 5: up from around rand that's doing that. Maybe About a
- 22:45Speaker 5: couple of years ago, I was at his children's grandmother's
- 22:49Speaker 5: house buying a car. They called me. I went there,
- 22:55Speaker 5: actually made two trips and set there, and she has
- 22:59Speaker 5: since past. She was a very lovely lady. And I
- 23:02Speaker 5: sat out there in her driveway and we probably talked
- 23:04Speaker 5: an hour. We may have talked longer. I saw her
- 23:08Speaker 5: a few months later at a funeral that she had
- 23:11Speaker 5: lost one of her classmates that was a father or a
- 23:14Speaker 5: friend of mine. I walked by her and gave her
- 23:16Speaker 5: a little hug. I said, you know who I am,
- 23:18Speaker 5: And she said, you bought my car.
- 23:21Speaker 2: I said, well that's what you try to do.
- 23:24Speaker 4: Make it.
- 23:25Speaker 5: That's not going to happen with carbon. No, that's not
- 23:28Speaker 5: an impact. That's an immediate gratification. And they'll send you
- 23:32Speaker 5: a number and you go, you know this is what
- 23:35Speaker 5: it's worth. Well, you can call your broken and ask
- 23:37Speaker 5: you what your stock's worth. Doesn't mean you have to
- 23:40Speaker 5: sell it. This is crazy where they said you want
- 23:43Speaker 5: to know what your car is worth?
- 23:43Speaker 4: Your evaluation?
- 23:44Speaker 5: You know, you can call anytime texting time, Well, what
- 23:47Speaker 5: difference does it make you if you're not going.
- 23:49Speaker 4: To get how about this day? I don't even know
- 23:50Speaker 4: if it's them that's offering.
- 23:51Speaker 3: It might be them, But it's like notifications that notifies
- 23:54Speaker 3: you when your value goes up or down. It's like
- 23:56Speaker 3: of a car, like you get daily what what what
- 23:59Speaker 3: kind of s people are looking at their daily value
- 24:01Speaker 3: of their car.
- 24:02Speaker 5: And guess what that means? They're being tracked.
- 24:04Speaker 3: Well, that's exactly what I was just talking about. You
- 24:06Speaker 3: open up those notifications and all those things. They're tracking
- 24:09Speaker 3: immense amounts of data on you.
- 24:11Speaker 5: So there's a lot of information that you give a
- 24:13Speaker 5: way that they use to make money, whether they buy
- 24:18Speaker 5: your automobile or No. Absolutely, I'm not gonna give nobody
- 24:20Speaker 5: anything other than I'll give you some money for your car.
- 24:23Speaker 3: It's just like a Facebook is people talk about social
- 24:26Speaker 3: media company. Facebook is not a social media company or
- 24:28Speaker 3: it is an ad company. It is a commercial placement company,
- 24:32Speaker 3: and it's businesses you.
- 24:35Speaker 5: When you build a reputation in regardless of whatever you
- 24:38Speaker 5: want to do, be the best that you can be.
- 24:42Speaker 5: A few months ago, I was on this radio, I
- 24:44Speaker 5: was actually with you and I lost, and I lost
- 24:48Speaker 5: my cousin, Bob Ashley. And Bob was such a fine man,
- 24:53Speaker 5: a fantastic man. Well later on through between then and now,
- 24:58Speaker 5: his name is came up and I have mentioned he
- 25:01Speaker 5: was my cousin. If Bob only knew how much he
- 25:05Speaker 5: was respected, and if only I could gain half what
- 25:10Speaker 5: I hear about my cousin Bob at the end of
- 25:12Speaker 5: my career, because Bob was a very well respected man.
- 25:16Speaker 5: He was a politician. His wife is a judge in
- 25:18Speaker 5: Jackson count I talked to his son yesterday, but he
- 25:21Speaker 5: started out round.
- 25:23Speaker 2: I amma.
- 25:25Speaker 5: Was his house when he's a child, Like I said,
- 25:27Speaker 5: He's my first cousin. His father and my mother was
- 25:30Speaker 5: brother's sister. But Bob built a career in politics, kind
- 25:35Speaker 5: of liked car business. You can go this way, you
- 25:38Speaker 5: can go that way. Because people likes to throw darts
- 25:40Speaker 5: at us. We can be the best we can be.
- 25:43Speaker 5: I've never heard of anyone speak ill of Bob Ashley,
- 25:47Speaker 5: and that's part of my family. And I hope that
- 25:51Speaker 5: today that you know I am son set that people say,
- 25:55Speaker 5: you know I bought a car from him, I said
- 25:57Speaker 5: at Sleepy Holly yesterday, and a gentleman owns a business
- 26:02Speaker 5: quite a bit older me. I went over the table
- 26:04Speaker 5: to sit and talk to him. He said, you know,
- 26:06Speaker 5: I bought a television from your dad. My father died
- 26:09Speaker 5: in nineteen nine. He's born in nineteen twenty six. My
- 26:12Speaker 5: father owned Dawson Stevie in appliance with this gentleman made
- 26:16Speaker 5: a point to let me know that he bought a television.
- 26:19Speaker 5: He said, Ian when you use a little young fellow, run.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Round that show.
- 26:23Speaker 4: That's great stuff. Larry Dawson's here this morning.
- 26:25Speaker 3: If you want to give a shout out to Larry
- 26:26Speaker 3: and give us call this morning three zero four, three
- 26:28Speaker 3: four two eight one three one three zero four, three
- 26:29Speaker 3: four two eight one three one. You could text over
- 26:31Speaker 3: question two if you went through three zero four nine
- 26:32Speaker 3: three five five zeros or eighth. But larr Dawson is
- 26:35Speaker 3: here this morning. We're going to take a break. We'll

- 27:44Speaker 2: This update is brought to you by Fourth Avenue financial
- 27:47Speaker 2: A good retirement takes planning. Let's get started today.
- 27:53Speaker 7: Good morning, here's your traffic update. Debris in the roadway
- 27:55Speaker 7: on I seventy seven north at mile marker one oh
- 27:58Speaker 7: two at Westmoreland Road, a disabled vehicle on I seventy
- 28:02Speaker 7: seven south at mile marker ninety eight at the thirty
- 28:05Speaker 7: fifth Street bridge, congestion and delays on I sixty four
- 28:09Speaker 7: east at mile marker fifty eight at Virginia Street. And
- 28:12Speaker 7: a vehicle crash at fifty six twenty three mccorko Avenue Southeast.
- 28:16Speaker 7: I'm Chapel in the WCCHS Network traffic studio.
- 28:34Speaker 3: You're listening to the Voice of Charleston five EWHS. Larry
- 28:37Speaker 3: Dawson is in studio with this morning. If want to
- 28:38Speaker 3: shout out to Larry and give him a call, three
- 28:40Speaker 3: zero four three four two eight one three one three
- 28:41Speaker 3: four two eight one three one, if you want to
- 28:44Speaker 3: talk a little bit about the auto industry, or give
- 28:46Speaker 3: a testimonial for Larry, or talk about Nitro or any
- 28:49Speaker 3: of those great things we've been on the I've been
- 28:51Speaker 3: doing this show for a long time with Larry, and occasionally,
- 28:53Speaker 3: especially the last couple of years, I would bring up
- 28:55Speaker 3: every once in a while because I would just want
- 28:56Speaker 3: Larry's opinion on it. But you know, all these cars
- 28:59Speaker 3: keep on leaning in to the technical and I'm not
- 29:00Speaker 3: saying there's anything wrong with the technology. It could be
- 29:03Speaker 3: perfectly useful in most situations, and it's getting easier and
- 29:06Speaker 3: easier to do different things. Nothing wrong with it at all,
- 29:08Speaker 3: But we've kind of bandied around. Well, if automakers would
- 29:11Speaker 3: start coming out with cars that have less screens and
- 29:14Speaker 3: more like actual physical buttons and knobs and stuff like that.
- 29:17Speaker 3: I was reading a story the other day, Number one.
- 29:19Speaker 3: In the last six or eight months, all of the
- 29:21Speaker 3: foreign manufacturers, I can't find anything. There might be stuff
- 29:24Speaker 3: out there, somebody could prove me wrong. I can't find
- 29:26Speaker 3: anything from like GM and Ford and stuff like that.
- 29:28Speaker 3: But Hyundai and Volkswagen and Kia and all of these
- 29:32Speaker 3: foreign manufacturers are talking about their huge initiative going forward,
- 29:36Speaker 3: meaning twenty five and later are gonna be going back
- 29:38Speaker 3: to physical buttons in a lot of areas. They're gonna
- 29:40Speaker 3: not get rid of screens, but make them less prominent
- 29:43Speaker 3: for issue features where you can use buttons again for
- 29:46Speaker 3: it and stuff like that. And then I guess Volkswagen
- 29:48Speaker 3: is investing in a manufacturer whose focus is purely on
- 29:53Speaker 3: the physical buttons and cars all the way to you
- 29:56Speaker 3: could get optional crank windows and stuff, so all the
- 29:58Speaker 3: way to where you're getting. But it will have modern
- 30:01Speaker 3: conveniences as far as how the car operates, in fuel
- 30:04Speaker 3: efficiency and different things like that, but the actual engagement
- 30:08Speaker 3: with the vehicle will all be analog. And I'm like,
- 30:10Speaker 3: great idea. That's a good idea. You can make it
- 30:14Speaker 3: today with today's technology. If you made an analog car
- 30:16Speaker 3: like that, it would probably last forever or darn near it.
- 30:19Speaker 5: I believe so. And the automobile business has been on
- 30:24Speaker 5: a rocket ship to technology, and I think once they
- 30:30Speaker 5: got to the moon they may not liked being on
- 30:33Speaker 5: the moon, and somewhere in between they felt was probably
- 30:37Speaker 5: the best position to be in. So as I see
- 30:40Speaker 5: things happening yesterday evening board at the house, I started, well,
- 30:46Speaker 5: I started reading about the Scout which Volkswagen's coming out with,
- 30:50Speaker 5: and I think it's a twenty twenty seven, It could
- 30:53Speaker 5: be a twenty twenty eight. I read a lot about
- 30:56Speaker 5: it last night, and you can reserve one. Now they
- 31:03Speaker 5: use the word reserve, I guess you can put your
- 31:05Speaker 5: name in a hat. So when the Scout comes out,
- 31:08Speaker 5: but it's going to be an ev It's one option
- 31:13Speaker 5: is going to be a small gasoline fire generator to
- 31:17Speaker 5: add mileage. I think it takes it from three hundred
- 31:21Speaker 5: miles to five hundred plus miles if you fire up
- 31:24Speaker 5: the gas line to charge the batteries to get you
- 31:26Speaker 5: a farther distance. Now, I read that quite a bit
- 31:29Speaker 5: yesterday evening because Scout was originally built by International Harvester,
- 31:34Speaker 5: and I think they have what they call a Harvester
- 31:36Speaker 5: option or it. It's interesting read. I'm not going out
- 31:40Speaker 5: to borrow and reserve one.
- 31:42Speaker 4: It's funny.
- 31:42Speaker 3: During this whole thing that I was reading about, this
- 31:44Speaker 3: was part of what came up and I was reading
- 31:45Speaker 3: about yep.
- 31:45Speaker 5: But once again back to technology, when you share things
- 31:50Speaker 5: is guess what's been popping put on my phone? Very
- 31:54Speaker 5: often about automobiles because I was googling reading on my phone.
- 31:58Speaker 4: Of course, out to Scout.
- 32:02Speaker 5: Let's put out there because if people are listening, may
- 32:05Speaker 5: once say, well, how do I find you? Larry Well,
- 32:07Speaker 5: I've had the same cell phone number since nineteen eighty
- 32:11Speaker 5: nineteen eighty nine, it's three oh four five four five
- 32:14Speaker 5: zero two one one. Don't let my office at three
- 32:18Speaker 5: oh four seven two seven oh four sixty four. You'll
- 32:21Speaker 5: talk to the Stevens family. That's okay. If you want me,
- 32:24Speaker 5: it is three oh four five four five zero two eleven.
- 32:27Speaker 5: The website is being created. The website would be up
- 32:31Speaker 5: and running.
- 32:31Speaker 2: I would.
- 32:32Speaker 5: I really wanted to have it, but we've had a snowstorm,
- 32:36Speaker 5: we've had a like of people will be able to
- 32:38Speaker 5: get to work. I owned the building, the Gentleman's Building,
- 32:41Speaker 5: my website. I was in communication with him yesterday, but
- 32:44Speaker 5: he is out until the twenty six. Hopefully when I
- 32:47Speaker 5: come on the second week in February, I will be able.
- 32:51Speaker 5: You'll be able to contact me.
- 32:52Speaker 2: Through the website.
- 32:53Speaker 5: But right now it's cell phone is three oh four
- 32:56Speaker 5: five four five zero two eleven. I'm located next door
- 32:59Speaker 5: to Steve Automotive. I'm at four sixteen. There at four eighteen,
- 33:03Speaker 5: there's a signage it's Larry Dawson. That's where I receive
- 33:06Speaker 5: the mail and that's where my office is at. But
- 33:09Speaker 5: if you want to sell your car, you want me
- 33:11Speaker 5: to come to your house, or you want to meet
- 33:13Speaker 5: me somewhere, or you want to come there. You can
- 33:14Speaker 5: feel safe. The nice thing about this building is his warehouse.
- 33:19Speaker 5: I can raise the door. You can drive in one door.
- 33:22Speaker 5: It's wide and big. You can step out of it.
- 33:25Speaker 5: You want to step my office, you can if you
- 33:26Speaker 5: want to stay there. I spent a tremendous amount of
- 33:30Speaker 5: money on this building, just on the floor. But you
- 33:33Speaker 5: know how I do things. I mean, if I told
- 33:35Speaker 5: you what I paid to have this floor done. But
- 33:38Speaker 5: you step out, you're in a safe environment. You're enclosed,
- 33:40Speaker 5: you're out of the weather. And I created this building
- 33:45Speaker 5: kind of thinking of this along the lines when I started,
- 33:50Speaker 5: you know, my journey through the retirement stage. Now, I
- 33:54Speaker 5: want to put a little teaser out there. It's not
- 33:58Speaker 5: officially started yet, probably around March, maybe April, but Doug
- 34:05Speaker 5: and I have came up with and we're bringing to
- 34:08Speaker 5: West Virginia, and I think we will be the only
- 34:11Speaker 5: ones in West Virginia that will provide this service for
- 34:16Speaker 5: your automobile. It's taking a little bit longer for us
- 34:20Speaker 5: to do it. I think he will be the first one.
- 34:23Speaker 5: I will be the second one. We're doing this together.
- 34:25Speaker 5: I'm not going to tell you what it is. If
- 34:27Speaker 5: you call, I'm not going to tell you, and I
- 34:30Speaker 5: don't think Doug's going to tell you, but it is
- 34:32Speaker 5: a service for automobile owners that is really needed in
- 34:37Speaker 5: the state of West Virginia, and we've decided to do it.
- 34:41Speaker 5: We will create a different web page for it, exclusive
- 34:45Speaker 5: for helping you with this need. So probably when the
- 34:49Speaker 5: flowers start blooming, we'll be talking about it. I'll bring
- 34:52Speaker 5: Doug up here, we'll sit down and we'll explain what
- 34:55Speaker 5: we're going to do. But I think once it's launched
- 34:59Speaker 5: and up and running, then it's going to feel a
- 35:02Speaker 5: big void in the automobile business.
- 35:04Speaker 4: I love it.
- 35:05Speaker 5: So that's just a little teaser. We'll talk about it
- 35:07Speaker 5: a little bit more, but I'm not going to share
- 35:09Speaker 5: anymore until it is finalized.
- 35:12Speaker 3: But what I like about this is, you know, you've
- 35:14Speaker 3: been doing You've been in the radio gig for a
- 35:16Speaker 3: long time.
- 35:16Speaker 4: So here we got a.
- 35:17Speaker 3: Teaser, got a little bit of a mystery, you know,
- 35:20Speaker 3: a little bit of a carrot to day and go out, Hey,
- 35:21Speaker 3: you want to listen to the next show to get
- 35:23Speaker 3: the next update, and then you know you maybe.
- 35:25Speaker 4: The show after that we'll be able to talk about
- 35:27Speaker 4: what's going on.
- 35:28Speaker 3: I love it. Man, I love it. I love it
- 35:29Speaker 3: that we're back doing the show. That that hey, we're
- 35:32Speaker 3: just talking about what Larry Dawson loves to do. Which
- 35:36Speaker 3: I'll finish on this because I wanted to tell you
- 35:38Speaker 3: about this. I had a issue where I needed to
- 35:40Speaker 3: have my car to it off of this lot earlier,
- 35:43Speaker 3: and I had one toe company kind of passed on
- 35:47Speaker 3: it because our lot here's tricky. You know, it's a
- 35:49Speaker 3: little tricky. One Toe company passed on they didn't want
- 35:51Speaker 3: to do it. I called charleson Auto. I'll give them
- 35:52Speaker 3: a shout out because they really helped me out. They
- 35:55Speaker 3: got it out of here, no problem. I don't know
- 35:56Speaker 3: why the other company was so concerned about it. It
- 35:59Speaker 3: was seriously ended up being no drama at all. Anyway,
- 36:02Speaker 3: John by the name of Bobby came by and he's
- 36:05Speaker 3: the guy that helped me out with my car, and
- 36:06Speaker 3: he does listen to this show from time to times
- 36:08Speaker 3: with Bobby for listening out your thanks again for your help.
- 36:10Speaker 3: But he was you know, people that there's seven radio
- 36:13Speaker 3: stations here, so people don't really know, you know, they're
- 36:15Speaker 3: just talking about radio stations and what they listen to
- 36:17Speaker 3: and stuff and just out of the Blue. He's like,
- 36:18Speaker 3: you know one show I did listen to all the time,
- 36:20Speaker 3: and I haven't heard him on the radio all that
- 36:22Speaker 3: much recently, but that Larry Dawson show.
- 36:24Speaker 4: Is that yours?
- 36:24Speaker 3: Because I like listening to that show a lot. And
- 36:26Speaker 3: I'm like, that's me, that's my show, that's my station. Man, Yeah,
- 36:29Speaker 3: thanks for listening, and I'm by yeah, and he was just,
- 36:31Speaker 3: you know, he was just like, I like listening to Larry. Look,
- 36:33Speaker 3: common sense guy talking about cars. I like to listen
- 36:35Speaker 3: to that. I don't listen to much other talk radio,
- 36:36Speaker 3: which I was like, hey, man, come on, got to
- 36:38Speaker 3: listen to more talk radio. But we appreciate you listening
- 36:40Speaker 3: to Larry.
- 36:41Speaker 5: When I come up on someone that I have not
- 36:44Speaker 5: seen in a while, the first question always house car business.
- 36:49Speaker 5: Well to look Amason, I don't know, that's not that's
- 36:53Speaker 5: not Larry. You know I wanted not yeah right, I'm
- 36:57Speaker 5: out last night. I'm reading about a scout, you know,
- 37:01Speaker 5: as the guy that supposedly retired. Why would it matter?
- 37:04Speaker 5: It does matter because you've heard me say this so
- 37:07Speaker 5: many times. I want to further my education. I want
- 37:12Speaker 5: to further my knowledge until the day comes and says,
- 37:15Speaker 5: you're out here, buddy, then I'll have to deal with that.
- 37:19Speaker 5: But until that day comes, I want to feel needed.
- 37:23Speaker 5: The grind of thirty seven years and all the things
- 37:26Speaker 5: that comes with it and what's coming at us in
- 37:29Speaker 5: technology and digital and all that is going to come
- 37:33Speaker 5: at such a tremendous expense of small entrepreneurs that you know,
- 37:38Speaker 5: it was either get big or get out, and I
- 37:40Speaker 5: didn't want to do either. I did not want to
- 37:43Speaker 5: get big, So I thought, I'm going to step to
- 37:45Speaker 5: the side and see where this takes me. And I'm
- 37:48Speaker 5: sure there's duties here that you have that you're not
- 37:51Speaker 5: fond of, and there's duties that you love. And it's
- 37:54Speaker 5: probably the radio. It's probably you.
- 37:56Speaker 4: Yeah, this part, yeah, this part's never this one.
- 37:58Speaker 5: Well, guess what cars was madey? That was the funnest
- 38:02Speaker 5: part is buying cars, meeting people, setting down and sharing.
- 38:06Speaker 5: And but I know it's a service, and I've always
- 38:10Speaker 5: looked at it as a service that I provided.
- 38:12Speaker 3: And Larry does it better than anybody as far as
- 38:15Speaker 3: this space goes. I'm glad that Larry's back this year.
- 38:17Speaker 3: He's going to be here the second Wednesday of every month.
- 38:19Speaker 3: From here going forwards, you'll be able to tune into
- 38:21Speaker 3: Larry Dawson. He'll be here at those times. If you
- 38:23Speaker 3: need to get a hold of Larry for any of
- 38:24Speaker 3: these reasons. He said his cell phone's been the same forever.
- 38:26Speaker 3: Three zero four, five four five zero two one one
- 38:29Speaker 3: three zero four five four five zero two one one.
- 38:31Speaker 3: You'll want to stay tuned because there's more news coming up.
- 38:34Speaker 5: One thing, if you want to contact me, please text
- 38:37Speaker 5: me first.
- 38:37Speaker 4: That's a good idea because there's so.

- 38:41Speaker 5: is George and I want to call you.
- 38:43Speaker 2: Can you take a call?
- 38:44Speaker 4: There you go.
- 38:44Speaker 3: You don't want to accidentally get to speaking of leaking data.
