- 0:49Speaker 1: We got a special guest in here. Surrealist.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Surrealist.
- 0:53Speaker 1: In the building, man.
- 0:54Speaker 2: It's cracking.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Man, finally got you here. You just rapped and went
- 0:58Speaker 1: fucking crazy. Yeah. So I didn't know this because you
- 1:02Speaker 1: and I had been chatting, and I don't know what
- 1:05Speaker 1: you would consider a doughboy, but whatever doughboy is, we
- 1:09Speaker 1: have him in common. And we have a lot of
- 1:12Speaker 1: people in common, it turns out.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Yeah, which is sick.
- 1:14Speaker 1: But we ended up linking up, and I didn't know
- 1:17Speaker 1: that you were a juggalo.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Whoop, whoop.
- 1:20Speaker 1: So you opened up for ICP.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Yeah, so my cousin, Gondre... He got that slot for
- 1:29Speaker 2: that show.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:30Speaker 2: They put him on, and he's like, hey, you want
- 1:33Speaker 2: to come do a song before ICP? And I was like,
- 1:36Speaker 2: fuck yeah, let's do it. And I was like, there's
- 1:38Speaker 2: no way none of these motherfuckers are going to get
- 1:40Speaker 2: excited when I come out. Bro, as soon as I
- 1:42Speaker 2: walked out to the stage, I seen everybody, and I
- 1:45Speaker 2: look in the crowd, and everybody just starts getting fucking crazy.
- 1:47Speaker 2: And I was like, what the fuck? This is fucking wild.
- 1:51Speaker 1: How do you get... Because I feel like the Juggalo
- 1:54Speaker 1: world is a very... It's a very interesting place.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Yeah, it is. My brother, Rudy, my older brother, he
- 2:03Speaker 2: put me on ICP when I was a kid. And
- 2:05Speaker 2: my cousin, Peter. And I grew up really liking their
- 2:08Speaker 2: shit because I liked the beats.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Right.
- 2:10Speaker 2: And then, like, honestly, there's, like, certain songs I'm like,
- 2:13Speaker 2: what the fuck? But there's songs that are, like, hip-hop
- 2:15Speaker 2: as fuck.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Yeah, the Great Malinko, I think, is, like, peak ICP, obviously, right?
- 2:19Speaker 1: Is that fair? Like, in terms of quality?
- 2:21Speaker 2: For sure.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:22Speaker 2: 100%. And I.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Like, obviously growing up and then seeing The Gathering and, like,
- 2:27Speaker 2: how they fucking treat certain artists at The Gathering.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 2:30Speaker 1: They would, like, throw up.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Fools would get fucked up.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Remember the Tila Tequila?
- 2:33Speaker 3: Bro.
- 2:34Speaker 1: The ice face chick?
- 2:35Speaker 2: Dude, she's... I hate that fucking bitch, but I give
- 2:39Speaker 2: her props because they were fucking her up. Yeah. She
- 2:41Speaker 2: was bleeding and she still kept going. And I'm like, damn,
- 2:44Speaker 2: you have to be either, like, really down for your
- 2:46Speaker 2: music or just a fucking crazy bitch to be doing
- 2:48Speaker 2: that shit. Yeah.
- 2:49Speaker 1: I remember when, you know, I got some homies in
- 2:53Speaker 1: that world. Like Ritz and Jelly Roll used to do
- 2:56Speaker 1: that shit all the time. So they used to just
- 2:57Speaker 1: tell me about like how like there would be like
- 2:59Speaker 1: a gangbang tent and like a drug bridge and like
- 3:03Speaker 1: all kinds. And there was like some sick ass fool
- 3:05Speaker 1: who like just like sits there and like licks on
- 3:07Speaker 1: ladies feet.
- 3:09Speaker 2: What the fuck?
- 3:09Speaker 1: I never got to go. Like there's like a foot
- 3:12Speaker 1: clown there who like if you walk by like he'll
- 3:14Speaker 1: just suck on your feet no matter how dirty they are.
- 3:16Speaker 2: What the fuck?
- 3:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I've seen some crazy shit.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Gangbang TP, for sure.
- 3:21Speaker 2: They literally have, like, ass-eating competitions and, like, dick-sucking competitions there.
- 3:25Speaker 2: I swear to God.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, listen, man. Shout out to the Juggalos.
- 3:28Speaker 1: I mean, maybe there's an unfair stereotype about their personal hygiene,
- 3:33Speaker 1: but fuck.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, it's wild. I mean, everybody sees the videos.
- 3:36Speaker 2: They let people film everything there, so you see all
- 3:38Speaker 2: the fucking gross shit, but it's tough.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Yeah, like, I grew up, like, and my cousin worked for, well,
- 3:44Speaker 1: he did some stuff for the Cottonmouth Kings.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Sick.
- 3:47Speaker 1: So like, you know, he had a plug on SRH.
- 3:51Speaker 1: So when I was a kid, like I used to
- 3:52Speaker 1: get free SRH shit.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Fuck the SRH.
- 3:55Speaker 1: That spade. And then like, you'd be able to, and
- 3:57Speaker 1: you'd go and see these fools and you'd be like, dang,
- 4:00Speaker 1: the live show's crazy. The music ain't crazy, but the
- 4:03Speaker 1: live show's like pretty, they had Pakalika and all that shit.
- 4:07Speaker 1: And then, and then I got to see ICP and
- 4:10Speaker 1: I went to a tour. It was ICP, Tech N9ne,
- 4:14Speaker 1: Bone Thugs, and Cottonmouth Kings.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Holy fuck. Yeah. On the same show?
- 4:20Speaker 1: On the same show.
- 4:20Speaker 3: God damn.
- 4:21Speaker 1: It was a tour, yeah. And that's where I, the Faygo.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Thing, I was like, oh, this is crazy. Oh, in
- 4:26Speaker 2: the beginning of the set?
- 4:27Speaker 1: Just throwing soda everywhere. I'm like, these sticky fucking white people.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Dude, people live for that shit. They did it at
- 4:33Speaker 2: the House of Blues when I performed that night. And
- 4:35Speaker 2: I was in the front. They had just given me
- 4:38Speaker 2: a dope-ass like, Juggalo jersey. And I was like, I'm
- 4:41Speaker 2: wearing this shit. But fuck it, I walked up to
- 4:43Speaker 2: the front and I was just, crazy because they started
- 4:45Speaker 2: moshing so i walked right in the front i was
- 4:46Speaker 2: like fuck i'm gonna fuck this jersey.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Up yeah the sodas i feel like if i was
- 4:50Speaker 1: a venue owner i'd.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Be like hey guys they probably pay for that shit
- 4:54Speaker 2: yeah they have to because there's no way because that's
- 4:56Speaker 2: right i would lose my shit.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Yeah so you gotta clean up all this sticky syrup yeah.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Fuck all that but it's crazy i but you know
- 5:03Speaker 2: what i feel like uh i fed i fed into
- 5:06Speaker 2: it a lot like as a kid because i also
- 5:08Speaker 2: grew up like in the hardcore scene so like on
- 5:09Speaker 2: rock and shit right so that it was, that was
- 5:12Speaker 2: like the same thing to me. That was like the
- 5:13Speaker 2: punk rock of hip hop. Cause they're the outbacks, you know?
- 5:17Speaker 2: So no, nobody, not everybody's going to like their shit.
- 5:20Speaker 2: And majority of the people that like their shit are
- 5:22Speaker 2: out of their fucking mind. And that's the cool part.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Yeah. I feel like, uh, I've met, you know, I
- 5:26Speaker 1: met Violent J and he's been on the show a
- 5:27Speaker 1: couple of times. And obviously, uh, I had them both
- 5:31Speaker 1: together once. They're nice guys. And like, whatever you feel
- 5:34Speaker 1: about their music, cause I'm not crazy about their music
- 5:36Speaker 1: at all. Um, Fucking just changed the game when it
- 5:41Speaker 1: came to the merch.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Yeah, bro.
- 5:42Speaker 1: And just the independent rap hustle.
- 5:45Speaker 2: The merch line at the show that day never went down.
- 5:49Speaker 2: It stayed throughout the whole, even their set. People waited
- 5:51Speaker 2: in line during their set, and the fucking merch was
- 5:54Speaker 2: just going. So I'm like, damn, these motherfuckers make so
- 5:57Speaker 2: much money off this fucking merch.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Yeah. I think it's like they ran so Tech N9ne
- 6:03Speaker 1: could walk. Yeah. You know what I'm saying?
- 6:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Because Tech N9ne took it to another level, but it
- 6:07Speaker 1: was without the ICP blueprint. You know what I mean?
- 6:10Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, they did the same thing with Psycho Realm,
- 6:13Speaker 2: because even Sig Jackin told me they got the merch
- 6:16Speaker 2: ideas and the way they sell their merch through Violent J. Yeah.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Because Sig Jackin and Violent J are really good friends.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Shout out to ICP. So you're from the 805. Is
- 6:24Speaker 1: that where you claim?
- 6:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm from the 805. I spent most of my
- 6:28Speaker 2: life in Oxnard, and then the rest of my life
- 6:31Speaker 2: in the Valley in L.A.
- 6:32Speaker 1: So you grew up, I didn't know, but I know
- 6:35Speaker 1: your pops. So your dad is a legendary radio guy.
- 6:38Speaker 1: He had a radio show called Pocos Pero Locos.
- 6:41Speaker 2: That's the guy.
- 6:41Speaker 1: It's his birthday today. Happy birthday to your pops. So
- 6:45Speaker 1: him and his ex-wife, Kool-Aid, who you grew up around, obviously,
- 6:50Speaker 1: your stepmom, a former, they had a radio show called
- 6:54Speaker 1: Pocos Pero Locos, which was very legendary. It started in LA,
- 6:57Speaker 1: but it was a syndicated show that, It was all
- 7:01Speaker 1: over the country and it broke all of the Chicano
- 7:04Speaker 1: rap wave.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Yeah, which is sick because nobody was pushing that shit.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Nobody. I didn't know who any of those people were
- 7:12Speaker 1: until I was like, I used to board up their show.
- 7:14Speaker 1: So I used to have to load the CD in.
- 7:15Speaker 2: That's so crazy, bro, to hear that story. Because it
- 7:19Speaker 2: is a reminder to me that sometimes people just don't
- 7:22Speaker 2: give a fuck about us and we're boxed into a
- 7:25Speaker 2: certain subculture as rappers.
- 7:26Speaker 3: So it's just.
- 7:29Speaker 2: They were a voice for people that like pretty much
- 7:31Speaker 2: didn't have a voice at the time. And then obviously
- 7:33Speaker 2: that comes with like controversial shit, but it's like, they
- 7:36Speaker 2: did their thing and they'll be bad.
- 7:38Speaker 1: That word.
- 7:38Speaker 2: They didn't give a fuck.
- 7:39Speaker 1: So yeah, it was dope too, because like they, I,
- 7:42Speaker 1: like you said, like, I feel like this was prior
- 7:44Speaker 1: to us having the internet for real. Like obviously the
- 7:48Speaker 1: internet was around, but it was prior to there being
- 7:49Speaker 1: like social media for real. Like my space was around,
- 7:51Speaker 1: but like it wasn't, it wasn't the same. So like
- 7:54Speaker 1: discovering artists literally what happened to radio. So it's like, Yeah, like, SPN,
- 7:59Speaker 1: Lil Rob, uh, The Criminal Fool, all them fools, the
- 8:03Speaker 1: high-power fools, they were all being broken on Pocos.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Yeah, they were being broken through Pocos. My favorite, I
- 8:07Speaker 2: have to say, like, my favorite Chicano rappers from those
- 8:10Speaker 2: times was, like, Mr. Shadow and fucking Slow Pain. Because
- 8:13Speaker 2: they were dope, like, they were dope rappers. They weren't just, like,
- 8:16Speaker 2: gangbanging on songs. They were actually spitting shit. And a
- 8:18Speaker 2: lot of my influence actually comes from Mr.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Shadow.
- 8:21Speaker 1: I liked Big Gemini.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Fuck.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Big Gemini had, he had a cool voice.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Yeah, Big Gemini had a sick-ass voice. And, uh, Damn,
- 8:28Speaker 2: there's another guy. He did a song with Mr. Shadow
- 8:31Speaker 2: back in the day, too. I forgot his fucking name.
- 8:33Speaker 1: What was the bro from San Diego?
- 8:36Speaker 2: Mr.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Owl? Something Owl?
- 8:38Speaker 2: Oh, Night Owl.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Night Owl.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Night Owl, yeah.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Everybody was Mr.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Daddy, I'm in love with a girl. Dude, that fucking
- 8:45Speaker 2: song was crazy.
- 8:46Speaker 1: I'll put a hole inside your brain.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Like, talking to his fucking chick. Fuck that.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Craziness.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, you could see, like, a lot of
- 8:53Speaker 1: that stuff didn't age very well. But, like, Little Rob
- 8:54Speaker 1: has some songs that aged very well.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Yeah, bro. I mean, you fucking... you go, you go
- 8:58Speaker 2: to a Chicano party, you're going to hear Lil Rob
- 9:00Speaker 2: no matter what.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Summer nights, dog.
- 9:01Speaker 2: That's, that's just, it's a classic.
- 9:03Speaker 1: For you, like growing up around that, like what kind
- 9:06Speaker 1: of pushed you into the direction of like being a more,
- 9:10Speaker 1: obviously you have the hardcore influence, but obviously you're a very,
- 9:14Speaker 1: I would say hip hop rappers, rapper.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Um, well, like I grew up doing graffiti. Yeah. I, my,
- 9:22Speaker 2: my brother's a graph writer, you know, and, um, my
- 9:25Speaker 2: dad's always kind of kept me in spots where I
- 9:28Speaker 2: was surrounded by graffiti writers. So I was just like,
- 9:31Speaker 2: those motherfuckers were like bumping atmosphere and idea and abilities
- 9:35Speaker 2: and shit like that. My favorite rapper of all time
- 9:37Speaker 2: is Idea.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Idea's dope.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Yeah, man. And, you know, also like having the heavy
- 9:43Speaker 2: Chicano influence because of my dad's show, it's just, it
- 9:47Speaker 2: was cool because I was able to, I was able
- 9:48Speaker 2: to mix it because like, I did a lot of
- 9:50Speaker 2: gangster shit like growing up with music.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Got it. But I was always like, Trying to bring
- 9:55Speaker 1: the two worlds together.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Punch lines. Fucking double entendres.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Just shit that.
- 10:00Speaker 2: A rapper's rapper would do. I don't like to classify
- 10:02Speaker 2: myself as that, but it's, like, it's true. Like, I don't...
- 10:07Speaker 2: I like showcasing my abilities. Like, I don't really give
- 10:11Speaker 2: a fuck about, like, doing what people want to fucking hear. Like,
- 10:15Speaker 2: I do it for myself, bro. Like, I've worked my
- 10:17Speaker 2: whole life, like, a regular job. And I've always made
- 10:19Speaker 2: the same music and I never really like, Oh, this
- 10:23Speaker 2: is what's in now. So I'm going to do this,
- 10:25Speaker 2: you know? So, and it's also just like, I think
- 10:27Speaker 2: the graffiti, the graffiti influence was for sure. Like you
- 10:30Speaker 2: got to stay true to yourself and, All that kind
- 10:33Speaker 2: of shit.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Well, and L.A. had like a dope bubbling scene, too. Like, obviously,
- 10:36Speaker 1: Merce was doing shit with Slug and Felt Albums and
- 10:40Speaker 1: Dilated and J5.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:43Speaker 3: L.A.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Had such a dope underground scene, too. Like, if you
- 10:45Speaker 1: were tapped in Southern California.
- 10:46Speaker 2: It had a way. Yeah, hell yeah. I mean, Evidence, too, bro.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Yeah, Mr. Slow Flow, baby.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Yeah, dog.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Weatherman LP.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Super super heavy influence on me obviously because like the
- 10:57Speaker 2: graffiti culture and then like being in la.
- 10:59Speaker 1: You're my best friend in the world uh my best
- 11:01Speaker 1: man at my wedding is raka from dilated.
- 11:03Speaker 2: So i've been around since i was 12 damn that's
- 11:07Speaker 2: crazy yeah he's hopping on uh me and static iris
- 11:09Speaker 2: signs yeah oh dope me and static are putting together
- 11:11Speaker 2: a project and uh i sent him one well dough
- 11:14Speaker 2: boy sent him one of the joints is like, he's
- 11:17Speaker 2: doing his verse. And I'm like, okay, well, we'll see
- 11:20Speaker 2: if that happens.
- 11:20Speaker 1: I heard Double A gets you M & M verse
- 11:22Speaker 1: if he tries hard enough. I mean, Kid Rock got one,
- 11:23Speaker 1: so I think he'd be all right.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I could do it. I could pull
- 11:26Speaker 2: a fucking M & M verse, I think, for sure.
- 11:31Speaker 1: All right, man, NBA season is back. It's my favorite sport,
- 11:33Speaker 1: so I'm super excited. Of course, Koushi, man, we could
- 11:36Speaker 1: trade all of our favorite NBA games. Futures, awards, all
- 11:40Speaker 1: that on CowShe. If you hit the link in the bio,
- 11:43Speaker 1: if you trade $ 25, you will get $ 55 for free.
- 11:46Speaker 1: This season, there are so many storylines. How's LeBron and
- 11:50Speaker 1: the 76ers going to mold together? They just beat the Knicks.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Will the Knicks be able to repeat?
- 11:55Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Anthony Edwards, LaMelo Ball. That is a hell of a
- 12:00Speaker 1: one-two punch in Minnesota. How are the Lakers going to
- 12:03Speaker 1: play with all the whites? Who knows? And I also,
- 12:06Speaker 1: I'm going to tell you the team, I think that
- 12:08Speaker 1: Not enough of us are talking about, and that's the
- 12:10Speaker 1: Indiana Pacers. Tyrese Halliburton's return. Look, basketball season is back.
- 12:15Speaker 1: And on Couchy right now, since it's early in the season,
- 12:18Speaker 1: I think we got to get in on some of
- 12:19Speaker 1: this MVP awards right now, man. Look, Victor Wemignana right
- 12:25Speaker 1: now is the favorite to win the MVP. He's trading
- 12:27Speaker 1: at 32% on Couchy. I'm liking Luka to win the
- 12:32Speaker 1: regular season MVP, trading at only 13%. I'm loving Luka
- 12:37Speaker 1: at 13% to win league MVP. I think he might
- 12:41Speaker 1: lead the league in scoring this year. I think he
- 12:44Speaker 1: might average a triple-double or close to it this year.
- 12:47Speaker 1: And I feel like the Lakers... Well, I just dropped something.
- 12:51Speaker 1: The Lakers are going to be an incredible regular season team.
- 12:53Speaker 1: I think they're going to crash out in the playoffs. But, man,
- 12:56Speaker 1: Luka at 13% on Kalshi. It feels good. And I
- 12:58Speaker 1: got to give a shout out. Now, if you guys
- 12:59Speaker 1: don't know, I am a Giants Suns fan. Can we
- 13:02Speaker 1: talk about how petty our guy Dylan Brooks is? Dylan Brooks,
- 13:06Speaker 1: all-time petty bruh. I don't know if you guys saw
- 13:09Speaker 1: his hate for LeBron.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Are you tired of hearing about the greatest basketball player
- 13:13Speaker 3: of all time? where he goes, what team is he
- 13:15Speaker 3: playing for this season, what ridiculous new product he's endorsing.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:20Speaker 3: Then you need the King Blocker 9000.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Crazy.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Advanced breakthrough technology that will mute any mention of or
- 13:27Speaker 3: as many nicknames like King's LB. That shows it.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Blocked.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Sound good? It sure does. Visit the URL today.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Yeah, hit the link in the bio too because you
- 13:40Speaker 1: actually can go on the link in our bio and
- 13:43Speaker 1: And enter to win the King Blocker 9000. Only 23
- 13:48Speaker 1: are made. Dylan Brooks, all-time villain, all-time petty. Hit the
- 13:54Speaker 1: link in the bio. Get $ 55 for free when you
- 13:56Speaker 1: trade $ 25 with Kalashie. Man, let's get back to the podcast.
- 13:59Speaker 1: You've been putting out music. We'll get to the Static
- 14:01Speaker 1: album that you're working on. But you just dropped a
- 14:04Speaker 1: record with Frankie Pulitzer.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Yeah, we just did a song last month.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Obviously, he just did a whole album with Zarface.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:13Speaker 1: It's going crazy. And there's speculation about who the man
- 14:18Speaker 1: behind the mask is.
- 14:20Speaker 2: It's Frankie.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Right. It's not Venom.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Who? I don't know who Venom is. Venom. No idea, bro.
- 14:27Speaker 1: So have you got to hang out with Frankie?
- 14:29Speaker 2: We haven't met in person.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Oh, but you guys have chopped it up. So how
- 14:32Speaker 1: does Frankie get hip to you? And how do you
- 14:37Speaker 1: guys end up making music together? Because he's a busy guy.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Mobland season two just dropped. And I heard he likes
- 14:42Speaker 1: to watch it.
- 14:43Speaker 2: He watches the show a lot but he doesn't like
- 14:45Speaker 2: the the dude tom oh yeah at all for sure
- 14:48Speaker 2: um but dude it was just we had followed each
- 14:53Speaker 2: other on social media already and i had no idea
- 14:55Speaker 2: that he was fucking dropping music and then i seen
- 14:59Speaker 2: i seen the project with was our face and i
- 15:02Speaker 2: was like dude you're super dope at fucking rapping like
- 15:04Speaker 2: what the fuck and i sent him a joint and
- 15:06Speaker 2: literally like 45 minutes later, he sent me back two verses.
- 15:11Speaker 1: What the fuck?
- 15:12Speaker 2: Like, two different verses. He's like, hey, pick one. And
- 15:14Speaker 2: then we had the joint ready for this month that's
- 15:18Speaker 2: coming out. And I was like, hey, I'm going to
- 15:20Speaker 2: just put that verse over this fucking beat so you
- 15:21Speaker 2: don't have to record a different verse. So we ended
- 15:23Speaker 2: up putting the whole topic together based on his verse.
- 15:26Speaker 3: Oh.
- 15:26Speaker 2: And then Sig Jackin ended up doing the hook on
- 15:29Speaker 2: it and fucking, dude, the record's sick.
- 15:31Speaker 1: That's crazy. That's got to be kind of crazy to
- 15:33Speaker 1: get in with a guy like Frankie.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Frankie. Yeah, he's... It's a trip, bro, because... A lot
- 15:39Speaker 2: of his fans follow me on social media, and I
- 15:43Speaker 2: get DMs all the time just because of him. And
- 15:47Speaker 2: it's the most annoying shit.
- 15:50Speaker 1: What do they ask?
- 15:52Speaker 2: Who he is, and is it really him? Yeah, and
- 15:55Speaker 2: I'm just like, dude, I know Frankie. Me and him
- 16:00Speaker 2: have even had some super in-depth conversations because he's a
- 16:03Speaker 2: sober dude.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Oh, he is?
- 16:05Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 16:06Speaker 1: I've seen that. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 16:07Speaker 2: You know, there's times where I'm like, I don't want
- 16:09Speaker 2: to bug my fucking sponsor because he's probably sleeping.
- 16:12Speaker 1: So you're talking to Tom Hardy? Talking to Frankie about...
- 16:16Speaker 1: About staying sober?
- 16:17Speaker 2: About, like, staying sober in AA meetings. That's fucking crazy.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Yeah, bro.
- 16:20Speaker 2: It's cool. He's a really fucking solid guy because.
- 16:24Speaker 1: So, how long have you been sober?
- 16:27Speaker 2: I'm going to have two years December 17th.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Off of liquor?
- 16:31Speaker 2: Liquor, blow, everything.
- 16:32Speaker 1: So you had a bad... Just kind of a bad
- 16:35Speaker 1: go at all of it.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Fuck yeah, bro. Yeah. Like, blow was worse for me
- 16:40Speaker 2: just because I quit drinking. And then I was still like...
- 16:43Speaker 2: Do coke. Yeah, which was fucking stupid as fuck.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Did you used to associate the two? Like, if I
- 16:47Speaker 1: get drunk, I'll do blow.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Nah. It was always like.
- 16:50Speaker 1: We got a buddy of ours who's just in here
- 16:51Speaker 1: who just, you know, his cocaine problem apparently is connected
- 16:54Speaker 1: to his alcohol problem.
- 16:56Speaker 2: That's most people. But, you know, it was.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Nah, fool, I don't have a coke problem. I only
- 17:00Speaker 1: sniff it when I drink.
- 17:02Speaker 2: I just like the way it smells.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Says Alexis.
- 17:06Speaker 2: But, you know, it was really hard for me at first,
- 17:12Speaker 2: you know, because I was just, like, doing stupid shit
- 17:15Speaker 2: and damaging, like, people's fucking lives.
- 17:18Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, dude. I mean, I grew up around
- 17:21Speaker 1: drug addicts, alcoholics in my house, and that is the.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Yeah, balance.
- 17:27Speaker 1: It's like, fuck what you got going on, because you're
- 17:29Speaker 1: obviously ruining your life, but you're also ruining everyone's lives.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Yeah, and the one person it never affected was my kid,
- 17:35Speaker 2: because I would never be drinking or doing anything around her.
- 17:39Speaker 2: But obviously, my relationship was getting fucked up.
- 17:43Speaker 1: But it indirectly affects your kid, because if you know
- 17:46Speaker 1: you're on a sick one, then you're like, I'm not
- 17:48Speaker 1: going to be around the kid. So it takes away
- 17:50Speaker 1: from the time, you know?
- 17:52Speaker 2: It took a lot of... Letting my emotions eat at
- 17:56Speaker 2: me and, like, dealing with it as a person instead
- 17:59Speaker 2: of dealing with shit, like, as a fucking drug-fueled dickhead. Right.
- 18:03Speaker 2: But it, you know, taught me a lot. Being sober,
- 18:05Speaker 2: going through, like, some of the shit I'm going through
- 18:07Speaker 2: now is, like, difficult. But it's cool, like, you know.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Because you used to just be able to check out.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Yeah. And it's not even, like, being checked out and doing, like,
- 18:13Speaker 2: fuck shit, getting drunk. It's, like, I'll get drunk, do blow,
- 18:16Speaker 2: go do graffiti. Like, just not do crazy shit like that.
- 18:20Speaker 2: But it's just... Now I have to deal with this sober.
- 18:23Speaker 2: I hit up my sponsor every now and then. I've
- 18:26Speaker 2: been on the road a lot recently, so it's just
- 18:28Speaker 2: I don't get to see that motherfucker that much. Shout
- 18:30Speaker 2: out to fucking Pauly. But I've been good, and being
- 18:35Speaker 2: sober helped me out a lot. And obviously some of
- 18:37Speaker 2: the conversations I've had with Frankie helped me out too
- 18:39Speaker 2: because for that motherfucker to be sober is just crazy
- 18:44Speaker 2: to me. And to be active in the AA.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I was going to say for you is because
- 18:50Speaker 1: I grew up around AA a lot, been to a
- 18:52Speaker 1: lot of meetings. It is a it's obvious you will
- 18:56Speaker 1: hear like people have mixed perspectives about the program. And,
- 19:01Speaker 1: you know, it's obviously a faith. It's based in faith. Obviously,
- 19:05Speaker 1: you don't have to be religious to be in the program.
- 19:08Speaker 1: But it's been like the like you're obviously the steps
- 19:13Speaker 1: have helped you and. Did you like work the steps
- 19:15Speaker 1: and all that?
- 19:16Speaker 2: Well, me and Pauly have not worked. We haven't worked
- 19:19Speaker 2: my steps together yet, but I've read the big book
- 19:21Speaker 2: like three times already. Okay. And I've read over every
- 19:24Speaker 2: step myself. I've done the steps myself, but I told
- 19:26Speaker 2: Pauly like I want to work.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Because you're supposed to do it with your sponsor, right?
- 19:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:30Speaker 2: But I didn't have a sponsor before him and I
- 19:31Speaker 2: was in AA for almost a year already. So it's
- 19:34Speaker 2: just kind of like.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Do you share in the meetings?
- 19:37Speaker 2: Yeah. Actually, I speak on panels and shit. Oh, dope. Yeah.
- 19:41Speaker 2: It's a rehab facility in Santa Monica. I've done a
- 19:43Speaker 2: panel there. And then I want to start doing the
- 19:45Speaker 2: panels in the prisons. Yeah. But it's just... I'm not
- 19:49Speaker 2: the dude that... like, yeah, my life is so fucking
- 19:51Speaker 2: great now, or I don't talk about using drugs heavily.
- 19:54Speaker 2: I just talk about, dude, you have to focus day
- 19:57Speaker 2: by day. If you really want this shit.
- 19:58Speaker 1: It's a day by day struggle.
- 19:59Speaker 2: If you really have a fucking issue with drugs, it's
- 20:02Speaker 2: not a long-term goal to fucking stay sober. It's like tomorrow. Yeah, bro.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Let me get through today.
- 20:08Speaker 2: That's exactly how I feel. But honestly, I put that
- 20:10Speaker 2: shit in the music, bro.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Like, I deal with the music shit the same way. Like,
- 20:15Speaker 2: how it came about, like, the shit with me and Static. Bro, for, like,
- 20:19Speaker 2: a month, I was telling Doe where I was like, hey, yeah.
- 20:21Speaker 1: That's got to be fun to be sober around Static.
- 20:24Speaker 2: It actually is, bro.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Because you're a spectator now.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's cool, though, because it's like.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Because Static, he drinks like a fish.
- 20:31Speaker 2: And I'm able to keep, like, the energy.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Yeah, that's good. Because I feel like sometimes people will, like...
- 20:37Speaker 1: have self doubt about whether they're still a vibe or not. Yeah.
- 20:40Speaker 1: I don't want to be the party pooper, bro. Everyone's
- 20:43Speaker 1: getting fucked up.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Nah, fuck though. I'm fun, bro. Like that. I feel
- 20:48Speaker 2: like I'm fucked up when I'm out with these fools.
- 20:50Speaker 2: So it's like, I don't have to go get drunk
- 20:52Speaker 2: and shit.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Are you California sober or sober sober?
- 20:55Speaker 2: I'm sober sober. I don't do shit, bro.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Because you know there's people like.
- 20:58Speaker 2: I just hit nicotine vapes. That's like the one thing
- 21:00Speaker 2: I can't fucking stop.
- 21:01Speaker 1: The nicotine vapes.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:02Speaker 1: They say that. What's that girl's name? Selena Gomez said
- 21:05Speaker 1: that they changed her voice, the vapes. She can't sing
- 21:08Speaker 1: anymore because she vapes so hard.
- 21:10Speaker 2: It's fucking bullshit.
- 21:11Speaker 1: She also was blowing that bruh. What's the bruh's name?
- 21:14Speaker 1: The real ugly producer? He's a beautiful man, Vinny. Benny Blanco.
- 21:18Speaker 1: That could be why her voice changed, because she's had
- 21:19Speaker 1: Benny Blanco's cock down her throat.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Probably. I don't see why that wouldn't be the case.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Obviously, man, growing up, you had to have had a
- 21:30Speaker 1: bunch of influences in terms of musically. Your rap style
- 21:34Speaker 1: in particular, who would you attribute most of your influence?
- 21:37Speaker 1: Where are you pulling from, you think?
- 21:40Speaker 2: I grew up listening to a lot of Idea, Evidence...
- 21:44Speaker 2: Sean Price.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Sean P. Rest in peace.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Rest in fucking peace.
- 21:49Speaker 1: I think most underrated rapper of all time.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Fuck yeah, bro. And then also like a lot of
- 21:53Speaker 2: Chicano rap, like Mr. Shadow. Shit we were talking about earlier.
- 21:56Speaker 2: Even Little One. And my uncle Mad Dog, he passed away,
- 22:01Speaker 2: but he's a dope ass rapper from Oxnard too. But it's,
- 22:04Speaker 2: I can't even really say where my style comes from.
- 22:08Speaker 2: I just, I'm not saying it's not influenced by people.
- 22:11Speaker 2: I just don't know where to like directly put it.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Did your pops, like, was he trying to pull you, like, hey, son,
- 22:17Speaker 1: I got all these plugs in this world, so if
- 22:20Speaker 1: you want to do this thing.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Nope.
- 22:21Speaker 1: He just let you do your thing.
- 22:22Speaker 2: He's never once been like, here, let me give this
- 22:24Speaker 2: to you.
- 22:25Speaker 3: Right.
- 22:25Speaker 2: My dad is.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Like, yo, son, do you want to work with Mr. Fingers?
- 22:28Speaker 2: Nope. Dude, my dad is... He's not like a Chicano Mexican.
- 22:32Speaker 2: He's like traditional Mexican.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Yeah, no, he's super... He's not the... Like when I
- 22:37Speaker 1: met him, I was like, oh, fuck, bro. I was
- 22:39Speaker 1: listening to you.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Yeah, he's very like get it out the mud. Like
- 22:42Speaker 2: if you can't do it yourself, then I don't know
- 22:44Speaker 2: what to tell you. Figure it out. Which is cool, though,
- 22:46Speaker 2: because it's like... I feel like if I was kind
- 22:49Speaker 2: of like a fucking Nepo baby.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Right.
- 22:52Speaker 2: I probably would have fell more into like the Chicano
- 22:54Speaker 2: hip hop shit and been like, OK, I'm.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Going to just go with this lane because it's easier.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Yeah. But fuck all that shit, bro. Like not in
- 22:59Speaker 2: a bad way. Right. I'm my own person. And my
- 23:02Speaker 2: dad knows that. And I put my dad through a
- 23:05Speaker 2: lot of shit because I'm a fucking dickhead. I grew
- 23:07Speaker 2: up doing graffiti like obviously my dad.
- 23:09Speaker 1: We were getting arrested a lot doing graffiti.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Uh as a kid i got caught once and they
- 23:15Speaker 2: sent me like to some graffiti action program and all
- 23:18Speaker 2: this shit yeah i got arrested ironically at fucking venice
- 23:21Speaker 2: beach where the walls are legal but they had like
- 23:24Speaker 2: seen my they seen me doing my name bro i
- 23:27Speaker 2: was like fucking 13 right and my dad was dude
- 23:30Speaker 2: he whipped my fucking ass but as i got older.
- 23:33Speaker 1: And venice beach i feel like it's fair game.
- 23:35Speaker 2: That's that's what i thought and at the time i
- 23:38Speaker 2: guess you had to get a permit And I was like,
- 23:40Speaker 2: what the fuck? So they arrested me, put me in
- 23:43Speaker 2: that program, and then I got older, and my dad
- 23:46Speaker 2: knew I was going to keep doing graffiti. Obviously, he's
- 23:49Speaker 2: not proud of it, but I think he just learned
- 23:50Speaker 2: to like, yo, that's what you do. That's what you do.
- 23:53Speaker 2: I can't tell you shit.
- 23:54Speaker 1: I mean, it's one of the elements of hip-hop, man. Yeah,
- 23:56Speaker 1: it is.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Yeah. And that's fucking crazy to me, bro.
- 24:01Speaker 1: Do you still tag a lot or do murals or anything?
- 24:03Speaker 2: Fuck murals. I do tag a lot, and I do
- 24:05Speaker 2: paint a lot, yeah.
- 24:06Speaker 1: I try to tell people like, Gorilla Nims was out here,
- 24:09Speaker 1: who you probably hung out with a lot. And if
- 24:11Speaker 1: you've been to Static's Bar, a sober guy, which is random,
- 24:14Speaker 1: but he is sober. But he came to LA and
- 24:18Speaker 1: he tagged the Welcome to Compton sign. And people wanted
- 24:23Speaker 1: to kill him.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, there's shit you don't do.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Right, but in New York, New York's approach to graffiti
- 24:30Speaker 1: is a lot more different than LA's approach. Because I
- 24:33Speaker 1: feel like New York is like, the birthplace of hip-hop
- 24:36Speaker 1: graffiti is a lot more widely accepted and it's not
- 24:39Speaker 1: necessarily correlated to gang culture as to where out here
- 24:44Speaker 1: depending on where you're tagging yeah it's some gang shit.
- 24:47Speaker 2: I've been shot at by dudes from like ms and
- 24:50Speaker 2: shit tagging koreatown right yeah so it's it's definitely a
- 24:53Speaker 2: different ball game but new york there's definitely a lot
- 24:56Speaker 2: of rules out there um Last time I was out
- 25:00Speaker 2: there to go see Static, I was kicking it with
- 25:02Speaker 2: my homies from DMS. Shout out to my homies Gamdust
- 25:05Speaker 2: and Danny Diablo. But they were basically walking me around
- 25:08Speaker 2: telling me, oh, look, you can't paint over this. You
- 25:11Speaker 2: can't do this and this. And I'm just like, all right, cool.
- 25:13Speaker 2: But you can fuck up everything else. And they're like,
- 25:15Speaker 2: I'm down. Shout out my homie MQ, too. He's in
- 25:18Speaker 2: New York, too.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Yeah, it's crazy. Because I was like, yo, Nim, this
- 25:21Speaker 1: was like 2018. I was like, bro, you cannot. You can't. Dude,
- 25:27Speaker 1: fuck your life on the Compton sign.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:29Speaker 1: That shit's crazy.
- 25:31Speaker 2: They're going to kill your ass. That's a crazy one.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Fuck that. I would fucking, I'd run.
- 25:38Speaker 1: In the Valley, I feel like we have a lot
- 25:39Speaker 1: of the Mexican gangs, like North Hollywood Boys and shit,
- 25:43Speaker 1: will always be hitting our walls and shit. And I'm
- 25:44Speaker 1: just like, fuck, man. There's nothing I can do about it.
- 25:46Speaker 2: They're everywhere. There's a lot of dope-ass graffiti artists from
- 25:48Speaker 2: the Valley. A lot.
- 25:51Speaker 1: You already know Arizona, man. The Bootleg Head Podcast brought
- 25:54Speaker 1: to you by our partners at Raffy Law Group. Now,

- 28:01Speaker 1: we need a new box. The basics, the basics, the basics,
- 28:03Speaker 1: all right? Oddsocks.com, use the promo code BOOTLAKE, save 20% off.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Let's get back into the interview. So tell me about
- 28:09Speaker 1: the Static album. Is it done?
- 28:11Speaker 2: I'm like five songs deep in it. I'm taking my
- 28:16Speaker 2: time with it. Usually I'm very like, I got to
- 28:19Speaker 2: get shit done. But what me and Static agreed on
- 28:23Speaker 2: was like, we're going to get this done. And then
- 28:26Speaker 2: if we're going to release it, we got to find
- 28:27Speaker 2: a fucking distro for it. Right, right, right. Which is
- 28:29Speaker 2: cool with me, bro, because it's just like, you could
- 28:31Speaker 2: have just told me, no, we're not doing a project.
- 28:33Speaker 2: But it was, I liked the way that he approached it.
- 28:36Speaker 2: And it gave me a task to like, not only
- 28:39Speaker 2: do I have to complete this project, but I have
- 28:41Speaker 2: to find the distro, which is fucking cool.
- 28:42Speaker 1: You got to find a home for it.
- 28:44Speaker 2: And which is dope, because I do like networking. I
- 28:46Speaker 2: like chopping it up. Like, I'm good at that kind
- 28:47Speaker 2: of stuff. but that is also what Doughboy's going to
- 28:51Speaker 2: be helping me out with, and if he doesn't, I'm
- 28:53Speaker 2: going to fucking fire his bitch ass.
- 28:54Speaker 1: When you put music out, like right now, are you
- 28:55Speaker 1: just doing Distro Kid, or how are you dropping, like?
- 28:57Speaker 2: No, I go through The Orchard.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Okay, okay.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Yeah, my dad did help me out with that one.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Fire.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Yeah, so my dad has a deal with The Orchard,
- 29:04Speaker 2: and he was able to create my sub label.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Is your pop still doing music stuff?
- 29:07Speaker 2: Yeah, he's doing a lot. He engineers and produces, and
- 29:10Speaker 2: he releases a lot of shit. He films the music
- 29:13Speaker 2: videos for his artists. He does everything on his own, bro.
- 29:15Speaker 1: Who are his artists?
- 29:16Speaker 2: It's a lot of, like, regional Mexican stuff. And then
- 29:19Speaker 2: he's doing some stuff with Stephanie Soul, who's an artist
- 29:23Speaker 2: from Bakersfield.
- 29:24Speaker 1: I feel like I've heard that name.
- 29:25Speaker 2: Yeah, she's dope. Kern County. Yeah, her style is pretty
- 29:28Speaker 2: fucking dope. She's sick.
- 29:30Speaker 1: What's it like having Kool-Aid as a stepmom growing up?
- 29:33Speaker 2: Wild. Wild.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Because Kool-Aid is a friend of the show.
- 29:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:37Speaker 1: She used to have a studio here.
- 29:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:40Speaker 1: She's back on her shit.
- 29:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:42Speaker 1: But having Kool-Aid as a stepmom, what's that like?
- 29:45Speaker 2: You know, growing up, it was really cool. And I
- 29:48Speaker 2: also think, like, I made it tough on her because
- 29:50Speaker 2: she was my stepmom. So, like, there was a lot
- 29:52Speaker 2: of the times we didn't get along. It was because of, like, me.
- 29:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:55Speaker 2: But, you know, she is a good person. Um, and
- 30:01Speaker 2: she's back out there doing her music shit. And I'm
- 30:04Speaker 2: very like, I'm, I like being ducked off, you know.
- 30:08Speaker 1: She's gotta be kind of proud of you too, to
- 30:09Speaker 1: be like, yo, you're doing your thing.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Like, yeah, no, she, she, she definitely is. It's, uh,
- 30:14Speaker 2: you know, it's, it's, it's been rough since like they,
- 30:16Speaker 2: they separated. So it's kind of like, I think we each,
- 30:20Speaker 2: have to set our own boundaries now, you know what
- 30:22Speaker 2: I'm saying? But not in a fucked up way.
- 30:23Speaker 1: It's just like... It just is what it is.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Yeah. And because I don't want to like disrespect my father.
- 30:27Speaker 2: Of course. I also don't want to disrespect her because
- 30:29Speaker 2: she did raise me.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Right, right, right.
- 30:30Speaker 2: So it's just... It's not rough because I go and
- 30:33Speaker 2: see her like I have no fucking problem. Right. I
- 30:35Speaker 2: was whipping around her fucking Cybertruck the other day, dude. Nice.
- 30:38Speaker 2: So it's just... It was dope, you know, having her
- 30:42Speaker 2: as a stepmom for sure. And then, like, I was
- 30:43Speaker 2: always going to Power 106 as a kid and being
- 30:46Speaker 2: exposed to that kind of stuff. It had to be
- 30:48Speaker 2: cool going to Power 106. Yeah, it was really dope. And,
- 30:50Speaker 2: you know, I made a lot of, like, friends there
- 30:52Speaker 2: as a kid.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Did you meet Big Boy as a kid?
- 30:54Speaker 2: That's my fucking dog, bro. Every time I see him,
- 30:56Speaker 2: he looks at me like, oh, shit.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:58Speaker 2: But I don't ever, like, those people, I don't ever
- 31:01Speaker 2: chop it up with my music about them, bro. I'm just,
- 31:03Speaker 2: I catch up and that's it. Like, I don't want
- 31:05Speaker 2: to use that shit as, like, a. fucking step a
- 31:07Speaker 2: stepping stone to like get somewhere right right right because
- 31:09Speaker 2: it's just like while i was doing all this cool
- 31:11Speaker 2: shit like with my dad and kool-aid like i was
- 31:14Speaker 2: also with my biological mom who was like struggling to
- 31:20Speaker 2: fucking find a place to live and living check to
- 31:22Speaker 2: check and right you know growing up in a gang
- 31:25Speaker 2: neighborhood it was it was rough.
- 31:27Speaker 1: What yeah because there's two big gangs in oxnard.
- 31:29Speaker 2: Right yeah so there's el rio and then there's there's colonia.
- 31:33Speaker 1: So which one is the one, because one of them
- 31:35Speaker 1: wears the Cowboys and one of them wears the White Sox, right?
- 31:37Speaker 2: Well, there's Raiders and then there's White Sox. So the
- 31:40Speaker 2: White Sox are the Southsiders. Raiders is El Rio. Cowboys
- 31:43Speaker 2: is Colonia.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Yeah. I grew up in El Rio.
- 31:49Speaker 1: So your neighborhood is what hat?
- 31:51Speaker 2: Raiders.
- 31:51Speaker 1: Raiders, okay.
- 31:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Yeah, it's crazy because I was, back in the day, well,
- 31:57Speaker 1: I wouldn't say back in the day, but my default
- 32:00Speaker 1: hat to wear for like, 20 years was just a
- 32:03Speaker 1: white socks fitted. So I remember I went to Oxnard
- 32:07Speaker 1: to meet with big bear and I had a white
- 32:11Speaker 1: socks hat on and they're like, yo, you got a
- 32:13Speaker 1: white socks hat on that. Just don't go anywhere over here.
- 32:17Speaker 1: And I was like, yeah, it's a white socks hat.
- 32:19Speaker 1: And then, then, and then when I found out that
- 32:20Speaker 1: was the Cowboys hat was a thing. I was like, yo,
- 32:23Speaker 1: but the Cowboys do their fucking training camp here.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Yep.
- 32:27Speaker 1: There's Cowboys fans.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Oxnard's a fucking crazy place. It's a small place, but
- 32:33Speaker 2: it's a crazy place.
- 32:34Speaker 1: It is, too. And it's like, if you ever just
- 32:36Speaker 1: drive around Oxnard, first of all, obviously, it's like the
- 32:38Speaker 1: lettuce capital of the fucking world. So it's like farm
- 32:41Speaker 1: workers everywhere. Farmland is fucking everywhere. And it just feels
- 32:46Speaker 1: like a pretty gnarly little town.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Yeah, it is, bro. I've been through a lot of
- 32:51Speaker 2: shit with... You know, growing up where I grew up
- 32:54Speaker 2: and then, like, getting into shit with, like, folks from
- 32:56Speaker 2: other neighborhoods. I've seen a lot of shit, but it's funny, like,
- 33:00Speaker 2: now that I'm, like, growing up and everybody's adults, like,
- 33:02Speaker 2: we're fucking homies.
- 33:04Speaker 1: It's, like, obviously, like, a town built on, like, farm
- 33:06Speaker 1: workers and farming and, like, all that shit.
- 33:09Speaker 2: Yeah, and a lot of those gangs are, like, really old. Like,
- 33:12Speaker 2: they're really old school, traditional, like, Chicano gangs. Right. Fucking crazy.
- 33:17Speaker 1: That's crazy. And then Ventura's so nice.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Ventura's sick.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Ventura's so sick.
- 33:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:22Speaker 1: I told my wife, I was like, yo, if this
- 33:23Speaker 1: wasn't so far, we could just live over here and
- 33:25Speaker 1: just drive every day.
- 33:26Speaker 2: I want to move to Ojai. That's where I want
- 33:28Speaker 2: to live.
- 33:28Speaker 1: I don't know what that is.
- 33:29Speaker 2: It's like a little past Ventura.
- 33:32Speaker 3: Okay.
- 33:32Speaker 2: There's like a lot of farmland and shit there. Johnny
- 33:34Speaker 2: Cash used to live in Ojai.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Oh, fire.
- 33:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Well, that's like Oxnard's, well, Oxnard Ventura is also very
- 33:41Speaker 1: Hell's Angel-like.
- 33:43Speaker 2: It's very mongols now well it used to be yeah
- 33:46Speaker 2: back in the day yeah well i my mom uh
- 33:49Speaker 2: she used to live in ventura and it was it was.
- 33:51Speaker 1: All the old biker bros that you see on vlad always.
- 33:54Speaker 2: Talk about like yeah the ventura the ventura clubhouse it
- 33:57Speaker 2: was right right there on the avenue um.
- 33:59Speaker 1: And they're out outside with it because i grew up
- 34:01Speaker 1: in a biker neighborhood and they had a clubhouse that
- 34:06Speaker 1: was painted and it was like oh that's the house.
- 34:08Speaker 2: Yeah yeah they uh I mean, I don't know too
- 34:11Speaker 2: much about that club because I have family members that
- 34:13Speaker 2: are Mongols and shit. Yeah, my cousins and shit. But
- 34:17Speaker 2: that was never really, like, I didn't give a fuck
- 34:20Speaker 2: about none of that shit until, like, I got older
- 34:22Speaker 2: and then I was kicking it around my cousins and
- 34:24Speaker 2: they introduced me to a lot of people from the
- 34:26Speaker 2: club and then I became close with a lot of people.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Yeah, the motorcycle club shit is crazy because it's, like,
- 34:31Speaker 1: it's its own, like, obviously, being from the streets and, like,
- 34:36Speaker 1: certain areas of town, like, you're, like, used to, like,
- 34:39Speaker 1: Gang banging in a certain way. But the motorcycle gang, bro,
- 34:43Speaker 1: when I was a little kid, because my uncle used
- 34:44Speaker 1: to run with this, he used to sell drugs for
- 34:49Speaker 1: this motorcycle gang called the Dirty Dozen. And they were
- 34:54Speaker 1: at war with the Hells Angels in Phoenix. And the
- 34:56Speaker 1: Hells Angels won. And they made everybody either flip patches
- 35:01Speaker 1: or they got killed. So a lot of random Dirty
- 35:05Speaker 1: Dozen fools got smoked or they had to become Hells Angels.
- 35:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:10Speaker 2: I couldn't do it.
- 35:11Speaker 3: Crazy.
- 35:12Speaker 2: Fuck all that shit, bro.
- 35:13Speaker 1: And then you watch like Sons of Anarchy and you're like,
- 35:16Speaker 1: oh my God, this is crazy. So many of these
- 35:17Speaker 1: people remind me of people I grew up around. I
- 35:19Speaker 1: was like, the biker shit is wild though. Cause it's
- 35:21Speaker 1: like them fools definitely like, I don't know what they're
- 35:23Speaker 1: up to nowadays. Obviously I don't want to speak on them.
- 35:25Speaker 1: Cause I know I've had Hells Angels reach out to
- 35:27Speaker 1: me like, yo, you can't talk about that shit on
- 35:29Speaker 1: the podcast. But it's just interesting. It's just different. It's different.
- 35:34Speaker 1: But you know, those guys don't play. The Mongols don't play.
- 35:38Speaker 2: It's a major respect thing, bro. You show respect to
- 35:41Speaker 2: Mongols and you get respect. I have a lot of
- 35:44Speaker 2: friends in that club now, and they're fucking great people,
- 35:48Speaker 2: great fathers, great family members.
- 35:49Speaker 1: For sure, 100%. We have a very close friend who
- 35:53Speaker 1: might be a Mongol who's also useless and not here. Yeah,
- 35:56Speaker 1: of course. Of course. Where would he be at? He's
- 35:59Speaker 1: probably eating.
- 36:00Speaker 2: For sure.
- 36:00Speaker 1: For sure he's eating.
- 36:01Speaker 2: 100%.
- 36:02Speaker 1: All right, so you got this album on... Are you dropping...
- 36:05Speaker 1: You got the new record with Sick Jacket and Frankie
- 36:08Speaker 1: coming soon?
- 36:09Speaker 2: That one's actually dropping.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Probably tonight?
- 36:12Speaker 3: Thursday?
- 36:12Speaker 2: Two days.
- 36:13Speaker 1: Thursday night?
- 36:13Speaker 2: Three days, yeah. Oh, two days, yeah, two days.
- 36:15Speaker 1: Thursday night, 9 p.m. PST?
- 36:16Speaker 2: Yep.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Are you going to drop another body of work or
- 36:20Speaker 1: anything prior to the Static album, or are you focused
- 36:22Speaker 1: on finishing that?
- 36:24Speaker 2: So me... The plan with me and Static is probably
- 36:26Speaker 2: not going to happen until like maybe second quarter next year.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Got it.
- 36:29Speaker 2: But me and Sick Jacket actually have a.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Joint?
- 36:32Speaker 2: A joint. No, a joint album together. Yeah. That's going
- 36:36Speaker 2: to be dropping at the beginning of the year. That's
- 36:38Speaker 2: got to be dope, man. And then we leave for
- 36:40Speaker 2: tour April and May to Europe and Central America. That's big.
- 36:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:44Speaker 2: So it's like, it's perfect timing for the album to
- 36:46Speaker 2: drop and him taking me like under his wing.
- 36:49Speaker 1: He's a legend.
- 36:50Speaker 2: Bro, he like put me in front of everybody's faces
- 36:53Speaker 2: and now I'm like.
- 36:55Speaker 1: He's also, like, underappreciated in the ground. Like, I feel
- 36:58Speaker 1: like Psycho Realm doesn't get the love that they deserve
- 37:02Speaker 1: in the big, big... I feel like here in L.A.
- 37:04Speaker 1: they get a lot of love in the West Coast,
- 37:05Speaker 1: but I feel like in terms of just, like, the
- 37:06Speaker 1: landscape of hip-hop, like, they deserve a lot more love.
- 37:10Speaker 2: That always tripped me out, because, like, dude, Jackin was producing, like,
- 37:13Speaker 2: all their shit, and also, like, TRT, Rest In Peace,
- 37:18Speaker 2: and they built a whole fucking culture off of one album,
- 37:21Speaker 2: pretty much, because, you know, dude got shot, and ended
- 37:25Speaker 2: up paralyzed, and Jack had to carry everything, and he
- 37:30Speaker 2: works his ass off. Dude, there's so much unreleased shit
- 37:32Speaker 2: that he showed me that I'm like, what the fuck? Oh,
- 37:36Speaker 2: I bet.
- 37:36Speaker 1: He's just sitting there.
- 37:37Speaker 2: Yeah, and he just likes to stay ducked out too.
- 37:39Speaker 2: It's like all he has to go do is the
- 37:41Speaker 2: fucking sick Jack and tours in Europe, and he's good.
- 37:44Speaker 1: Is there a place you guys are going on tour
- 37:46Speaker 1: you're most excited to go that you haven't been yet?
- 37:49Speaker 2: I haven't been to either of those places. I've never
- 37:51Speaker 2: been to Central America.
- 37:52Speaker 1: Oh, you guys doing the Columbia run?
- 37:54Speaker 2: I think so. That'd be crazy. Yeah, we got the
- 37:58Speaker 2: block of dates. We just haven't got the actual... The
- 38:01Speaker 2: whole routing. Yeah, we haven't got the route yet.
- 38:03Speaker 1: That'd be crazy.
- 38:04Speaker 2: But I'm excited as fuck. I've never rapped overseas, so
- 38:07Speaker 2: it's just.
- 38:07Speaker 1: You're like, yo, I'm getting out the country. Fuck it.
- 38:09Speaker 2: And he's the one who keeps telling me, after you
- 38:12Speaker 2: perform in Europe, it's over.
- 38:14Speaker 1: Just prepare yourself. Yeah, because then you're... I heard that
- 38:16Speaker 1: their fans are way... They're, like, less spoiled than the Americans. So, like,
- 38:20Speaker 1: they appreciate the shit more and they're more, like, I've
- 38:23Speaker 1: seen it in Japan. Japan, obviously, different than Europe. But
- 38:26Speaker 1: the way, like, they treat their artists or, like, if
- 38:29Speaker 1: you get some motion in Europe or Asia or one
- 38:31Speaker 1: of these places that isn't the U.S., like, it could
- 38:33Speaker 1: change your whole shit and how you look at everything.
- 38:36Speaker 2: I mean, that's how it happened with him. And it's,
- 38:40Speaker 2: he just keeps trying to mentally, like, prep me for, like,
- 38:44Speaker 2: You're going to be successful. You're going to be successful.
- 38:47Speaker 2: There's a lot of shit coming your way. Just keep
- 38:48Speaker 2: your head down. Keep doing what you're doing.
- 38:50Speaker 1: And then do the vinyl play. When you start seeing
- 38:52Speaker 1: that work, just start dropping stuff.
- 38:54Speaker 2: Well, yeah, dude, I did one vinyl run, and it
- 38:57Speaker 2: was an album that I was, like, never going to
- 38:58Speaker 2: put on DSPs. Bro, and they fucking sold out like that. Exactly.
- 39:01Speaker 2: And I was just like, God damn.
- 39:04Speaker 1: Yeah, you'll have fun. And then, obviously, I think your
- 39:07Speaker 1: songs with Frankie will help you in the UK.
- 39:09Speaker 2: Yeah, they have majorly. Like, I've grown a, a big-ass
- 39:14Speaker 2: fan base on Spotify and Apple Music, bro. We dropped
- 39:19Speaker 2: that song, and my whole catalog went up by, like,
- 39:21Speaker 2: tens of thousands of views.
- 39:23Speaker 1: And then, like, uh, if he ever, cause I know
- 39:27Speaker 1: somebody who he knows helped. So it was our face
- 39:30Speaker 1: get on the venom soundtrack.
- 39:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:32Speaker 1: So if he ever, you.
- 39:33Speaker 2: Know, yeah.
- 39:34Speaker 1: Relationship, something that could, uh, he's going to bear a
- 39:36Speaker 1: lot of fruit.
- 39:37Speaker 2: He's going to be out here in November for a
- 39:38Speaker 2: work trip.
- 39:39Speaker 3: Hmm.
- 39:39Speaker 2: And me and him are going to go to the gym,
- 39:42Speaker 2: to the jujitsu spot, and we're going to roll around
- 39:44Speaker 2: and fire.
- 39:46Speaker 1: Are you a jujitsu bro?
- 39:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I did jujitsu for a little bit. I gained
- 39:50Speaker 2: a bunch of weight, and I just lost weight again
- 39:53Speaker 2: this last year. But I stopped while I was a
- 39:56Speaker 2: fat piece of shit, but now I'm getting back into it.
- 39:59Speaker 1: My son does it and does tournaments and all that shit.
- 40:01Speaker 2: Oh, that's sick as fuck.
- 40:02Speaker 1: It's like, it just looks so gay to me.
- 40:05Speaker 2: It is gay.
- 40:06Speaker 1: It's so gay.
- 40:06Speaker 2: It's super gay.
- 40:07Speaker 1: It's just fools on the floor, just.
- 40:09Speaker 2: Dick and face but it's like dude if you're gonna
- 40:12Speaker 2: punch me in the face like in real life i'm
- 40:14Speaker 2: gonna fucking lift you off your feet i'm gonna break
- 40:16Speaker 2: your fucking arm bro yeah i'm gonna take you down
- 40:18Speaker 2: that's not fun your arm i guess yeah that's real
- 40:21Speaker 2: but it's different when you like watch a competition and
- 40:23Speaker 2: it's two dudes rolling around and like.
- 40:25Speaker 1: And it's so it's just so and just like oh
- 40:27Speaker 1: yeah and then you hear about fools getting like uh
- 40:29Speaker 1: what's that shit called when you get the when the
- 40:31Speaker 1: mats aren't closed or where the mats aren't cleaned Fools
- 40:34Speaker 1: will get that.
- 40:35Speaker 2: The staff infection.

- 41:08Speaker 2: start going back to a gym and fucking train all
- 41:10Speaker 2: the time.
