- 6:56[SPEAKER_07]: And, um, I don't know, goodness.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_07]: So, just so many things going on to do this cut back in airline flights.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know fly anywhere.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_07]: I don't care.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_07]: Well, it'll affect some people.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_07]: But just give rid of the filibuster.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_07]: Get rid of it.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_07]: I don't care about it.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_07]: Maybe it'll come back to bite you later, but so what?
- 7:19[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_07]: Can they just get rid of the filibuster on the
- 7:25[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know, I'm sick of filibusters, yeah, sick of 755-1240, the phone number, interesting storage is saw in Channel 7 of the North Country's window on the world, yeah, it was out in the election, out in Defariet, no one ran from
- 7:52[SPEAKER_07]: That's a little village on Route 3.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_07]: Used to be where the paper mill was, nothing there, and I'm not much there now, but nobody ran for office.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_07]: I'm saying to myself, if people understand what governments are anymore, maybe that's why nobody runs, nobody's interested.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_07]: So I mean, if there was a right-in candidate, that person would get elected if they accepted.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_07]: So it's possible they might have a mayor and council members, but I don't.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know, I don't know, any absence of that with a governor appoint someone as mayor.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_07]: What if nobody wants to be mayor?
- 8:25[SPEAKER_07]: It's kind of like here in Watertown.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, a turnout was a, what maybe 27, 100, maybe 28?
- 8:30[SPEAKER_07]: Hmm.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_07]: Less than one and four people even voted.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_07]: When people don't care, they don't think it's important.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_07]: They don't understand it.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_07]: they see all these governments around and they just don't know what's going yeah they hear about it but they don't really understand i guess well uh... so what's going on who isn't really i mean dear other than those people on the square with their no king stuff most of them don't know what village of town they live in it's just the way it is these days
- 9:09[SPEAKER_07]: So, you see this in towns with no highway superintendent up in Lewisville, a town in there, Marcina, the highway superintendent, quit because the town board wanted to cut his pay or something, and it's just something else.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_07]: And they make it.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_07]: The officers are so unappealing all we have are the professional administrators now.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_07]: The six figure boys and girls.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_07]: Well, anyway, what's going on with is at least a finite good or run for mayor or governor, I mean, I don't know if she is or not, I plan was to do it after the election to help get people elected, but the Republicans in New York had a bad year down and I got a county that was not very good at all.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_07]: That's why those three of the four Republicans on the ballot for Supreme Court lost.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_07]: So anyway, um, I don't know if at least to find it's going to, what do you think should she run for governor?
- 10:12[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, I believe.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_07]: Lawson, you know, she'd be giving up her house seat, but I think she's giving that up anyway.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_07]: I don't think she wants to run for a seventh term and, you know, she's getting some traction running for governor.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, there's some polls show it's titan, then
- 10:30[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know what the whole mom down the local things can end up as is a lot of intangibles in this election you're coming up, so don't really know what to say, but a prominent radio voice, prominent radio voice, not me, can you believe it?
- 10:49[SPEAKER_07]: There are other prominent radio voices in the state.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_07]: And I don't know Bob Linesberry down at Wham and Rochester, WHA, they're nice people, I know that.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_07]: You still listen to him as a kid when I live down here, not him, but that station.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_07]: But he says that running for governor is not the political hill that at least Strafonic should die on.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_07]: He thinks she'd lose.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, it looks at this year's local elections.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know, I don't know what to say.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_07]: Trump's not going to be of any help in New York.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_07]: He's not going to help her anyway, I don't think.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_07]: I think that whole UN thing was bad anyway.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know what's going to happen.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_07]: They keep saying she's going to run.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_07]: I'm certainly willing to put a sign up over on my way.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_07]: I'd like to.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_07]: There's others who say maybe she won't admit this column by Mr. Lanzberry over in Rochester.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, it's not to be taken lightly.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_07]: There aren't a lot of deep thinkers and politics in this state or anywhere else.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, the Fred Dickers of the World are diminishing and I don't know.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_07]: I'm getting text messages, galore here.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_07]: Somebody says, do I think she has the fund?
- 12:17[SPEAKER_07]: I think she can get the funding.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_07]: Here's the thing, and to he ran once before, remember Bob can't well, a great guy up in Clayton.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_07]: He's a county legislator, that's kind of normally a dead end job, but it's a nice extra 15 grand a year for nothing.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_07]: With baddies and all that.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_07]: But there, somebody texted me that he may be running for Grey's seat, if Grey, now, the proof.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_07]: What we're looking at, and he'd be a good candidate, actually.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_07]: Good looking guy, smart, well-spoken.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, comes from Clayton, could help hold the flag here in St. Lawrence or in Jefferson County.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_07]: But the general consensus is if Staphonic runs, then gray runs for Congress, I guess he'd have to be in a primary against the stick whom you owe, but they must be confident.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_07]: He could win that, and then it opens the assembly race, and maybe Bobby Campwell, they call him Bobby, Robert Campwell, Mr. Campwell.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_07]: Maybe he can run, and I don't know what I vote for him.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_07]: I would in less adi-ran than I'm a big adi-genny fan.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_07]: I hate to say it.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_07]: It's like chocolate, it's a guilty pleasure, but I'm a big adi-genny fan.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_07]: And because I party labels don't matter to me in the assembly ways.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_07]: So, but if adi-s and ride from Mr. Chan, well, I think he's a great guy.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_07]: And he spends a lot of time on picked an island, I hear.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_07]: So, we never know.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_07]: I will have to call him and ask him one of these days or maybe he'll call me or maybe he'll call the show with 315-755-1240.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_07]: We don't hear much from county legislators, they don't talk much, you know.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_07]: They don't, although my county legislator got his face on the front page of the time this morning, you know what I did today?
- 14:05[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_07]: If I showed over and not, I do believe in old media.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_07]: I like legacy media.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_07]: I don't want us to become a news desert.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_07]: I know the times has had its problems in recent years.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_07]: I like Craig Fox and all of that stuff.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_07]: And Brian Kelly, they're all nice people.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_07]: I renewed my subscription for another year today.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_07]: I sent it in today.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_07]: Senate right in.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_07]: So, that was nice of me, wasn't it?
- 14:39[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_07]: Set my subscription in today.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_07]: And a lot of people ridicule me for that, make fun of me, because most people don't don't subscribe anymore, comes by mail, they don't subscribe.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_07]: And they didn't take a three month winter or something like that, because I showed confidence that I got the whole year.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_07]: I should get a thank you notice from somebody but I did and that's that even though they cut out the money edition so But I'm I'm versatile enough as a newshound I like I don't have to wait till Tuesday to find out who won the Super Bowl.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_07]: I can I can get it from other sources I just think it's good to have Even though they don't have editorials anymore no Jerry more they ought to write them um
- 15:31[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, even though Mr. Gorman's gone, too.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_07]: I don't, well, they know what goes on.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_07]: But I, I did re-subscribe.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_07]: So there we go.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_07]: Another political thing at 150th Assembly District in Southern Platsburg, the Democrat won that, Mr. Cashman.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_07]: Not by a big margin over the retired state trooper, but, uh,
- 15:55[SPEAKER_07]: You know, that's another race that, hey, I don't think that was very wonderful for the GOP anyway.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_07]: Potspotspots a wicked liberal town, wicked liberal.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, so I didn't think they were going to win that.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_07]: And Nancy Pelosi says she's not going to run for Congress next year.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_07]: So who will run from her San Francisco district?
- 16:14[SPEAKER_07]: Well, we know it will.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, as they say in a democratic party, we want someone who looks like us.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_07]: It won't be anyone who looks like us.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_07]: No one too mailed to pale that you stale.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_07]: And it probably won't be anybody who looks like her.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_07]: We're she going to get her stock.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_07]: I guess she's made enough in the market.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_07]: Made enough.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_07]: She's 85.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_07]: That a great career.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_07]: A rank partisan, but that's her job.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_07]: That's her job.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_07]: All right, well listen, we're going to take a commercial break.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_07]: see what's going there and then we're going to come back with more at a moment.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_13]: And a reminder, you're listening to the hotline on AM2040.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_27]: If you live in the North Country, you know how fast things get real.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_27]: One minute, it's clear skies.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_27]: The next, you're buried in a white-out, snow-piled high in the driveway, tire spinning.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_27]: Can't even see the end of your hood.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_27]: That's when you realize you need something dependable.

- 21:01[SPEAKER_07]: Hey, Jeff, what are I all is the netty daddy in?
- 21:04[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, that's not the question,
- 21:08[SPEAKER_07]: already seven five five well forty so phone number if you'd like to give us a call to be on the show of shows today.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_07]: One of the things I saw in New York heat today which I thought was interesting or maybe you didn't I think it was interesting but I thought it was interesting um they're doing a little pole one of those online straw poles where was it here um it was about what what's your favorite place to go to our nightclub or bar to go to on the um
- 21:36[SPEAKER_07]: Thanksgiving weekend.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_07]: That's a big weekend for everybody's in town.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_07]: You're kind of getting out.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_07]: A lot of people say, well, it's not good to go out.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_07]: You should be home.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_07]: I've had a cozy evening with your family and some people, they want to get out.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_07]: You know, they like to see their friends.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_07]: I can remember coming home from school, but for Thanksgiving back in the day.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_07]: And the first thing you'd want to do is hit the water jump bowl.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_07]: See if all young was there or any of the other people from high school.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_07]: not the way it is right now.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_07]: So anyway, news junkie is asking a question.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_07]: And they list all the bars and they keep in left off double dozers.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_07]: But anyway, what's your favorite water town bar to gather at over the Thanksgiving weekend?
- 22:19[SPEAKER_07]: And the number one finisher, there is time warp over in states.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_07]: That's a very popular spot.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_07]: Great wings.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_07]: They're hosting a big pub crawl this weekend on Saturday.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_07]: So yeah, that's a nice place, and that's one of those places where people, when they're back in town, they go to Coleman's Corner as a course.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_07]: Joe's tavern is number three, I had.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_07]: Haven't been to Joe's in the years.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_07]: Paddock Club is four.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_07]: I would expect that bad apple, followed by me.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_07]: And me, and then BJs over on the military.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_07]: That's popular again.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_07]: The hitch and coal Saudays.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_07]: How many said George wants out?
- 22:58[SPEAKER_07]: I can't believe it.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_07]: I can't believe it.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_07]: First round, and then the rooster, well, the rooster hasn't been open too long.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_07]: So the craft eight, 36 canteen, wasloostavern, in 1869.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_07]: So,
- 23:15[SPEAKER_07]: You know, I think that sounds reasonable to me.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_07]: I like how many weekends, like, thanks.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_07]: Of course, we're off.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_07]: There's the infreity that we put from the hotline.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_07]: So I'll be over there working, but it's kind of fun.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_07]: People come in.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_07]: You don't see very often and all of that.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_07]: Well, I know.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_07]: I know you're better off sitting on that.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_07]: It's a family gate, don't you know.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_07]: But some people don't like it.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_07]: Somebody wrote in a text, what about Glenwood cemetery?
- 23:41[SPEAKER_07]: What about it?
- 23:43[SPEAKER_07]: Is there something wrong with it?
- 23:45[SPEAKER_07]: That's where Catholics are buried up on up near the doff's house there.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_07]: There's Brookside and I don't know if somebody, I don't know if she's something going on up there.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_07]: Let's see what else is happening here.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_07]: The airlines cutting back favorite bars below see we hit.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_07]: We talked about staphonic.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_07]: How about our elections?
- 24:13[SPEAKER_07]: Listen, stop listening to people who say, well, those 200 absentees.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_07]: There are no 200 absentees to be counted.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_07]: Back in the old days, when all the pretty much 99% of the absentees got there by election day or the day before whatever, you could say there's this number of absentees in the box, but absentees as they come in before the election.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_07]: are run through the machine, they're Android already.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_07]: So the numbers you saw on election night included, all the absentees that had arrived through Monday.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_07]: Now there might be a couple trickling in in the mail.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_07]: It's possible, like five, six, seven, who knows.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_07]: But it's not going to be all the rest of it.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_07]: Most of those people either didn't vote or voted on election day in which case they were counted.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_07]: So there's not going to be some swing of truth.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_07]: Now unless there was a transcription error that shows up on camera, on a recanverse,
- 25:04[SPEAKER_07]: something could change, but no, I get a grant and Osborne are you two new members of Council, congratulations to them both, and we'll see how they do take a break, gentlemen take a little break, and keep tabs on things, read all the reports, and the agenda, and all of that, and I wouldn't take a stand, and don't get sucked in by the media.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_07]: Hey, how would you vote on this issue that's coming up on the 17th?
- 25:30[SPEAKER_07]: Let this Council deal with that stuff.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_07]: and just soak it in.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_07]: That maybe that's not good advice.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_07]: But I don't think we all of a sudden want to have a seven person council.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_07]: So just a lot of them finish out their last three meetings.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_07]: Not a lot will happen and that's that.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_07]: I just hope only doesn't give another speech like
- 26:03[SPEAKER_07]: I thought I was listening to William Jennings' Brian or something for a while there, oh, he's just went on and on and on.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_22]: But after dinner on the air, Oh, man, it's got a little air here.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_22]: I think better the show, but it's a long time listener.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_22]: Group of my buddies get together all the time, talk about the show, and we got a small break with you.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_07]: What's up?
- 26:25[SPEAKER_22]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_22]: That noise goes off in the background.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_22]: I don't know if you notice, but it's in the stretch I know you don't know it because it is then you're probably wouldn't keep doing it.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_07]: So we just wanted to bring it to your attention Okay, well, I like to see the Yeah, I like to read the text messages as people
- 26:55[SPEAKER_22]: Mayor, Comedy Goals, we love this show, keep us to go to work, come on in the house.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, thank you.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_07]: A lot of people out there who love the show, there's no doubt about it.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_07]: And we've got people who over, like I said, highway department, the county building down in my God and Barnes Corners and the landfill, all sorts of places.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_07]: We listen to this show for a, it's not that you're listening
- 27:25[SPEAKER_07]: I love these people who wrote, right, I take some, well, why do you talk about that election?
- 27:30[SPEAKER_07]: Because people who tune into this show are looking for, they're not looking for recipes on chocolate chip cookies that are looking forward to find out political insight.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_07]: What's going on?
- 27:39[SPEAKER_07]: Who's doing what?
- 27:40[SPEAKER_07]: We don't have a Fred Dicker in Watertown.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_07]: So I have to fill that role.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_07]: We don't have a Bob Londspirion like down in Rochester to help fill that role.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_07]: So it's falling upon me.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, falling upon me.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, hey, on channel seven right now, there's somebody's making Mr. Food Caramel Cupcakes.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_07]: They look delicious.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_07]: Who Mr. Food is, oh, he's not local.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_07]: That must be one of those syndicated things.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_07]: Anyway, 755, 1240, or from number, if you'd like to be on the show of show is today, is any of this traveling,
- 28:24[SPEAKER_07]: If the airline, I guess Secretary Duffy has to do something, you've got traffic controllers who aren't showing up for work because I get paid and I don't blame them to expect people to work when they're not getting paid.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_07]: That's what they call wage theft and all, but the same liberals who talk about wage theft and their human rights and don't do this.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_07]: I think this don't say anything about that.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_07]: That's wage theft is what it is.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_07]: Even if you get it back later, it's not fair.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_07]: It's not right.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_07]: If the government can't pay them, then they should close the airports down into, yeah, close them down.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_07]: Close them all down, close them down.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_07]: And see what the Chuck Schumer's or the Senator Blumenthals or whatever they are, but yeah.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_07]: a crying guy out in California, and then there's the other one there, shift, shift, shift.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_07]: Whew.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_07]: I'll tell you.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_07]: I'll tell you.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_07]: 755, I had 1240, the phone number.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_07]: If you'd like to see somebody said, Mayor, we love you down at the probation office.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_07]: You know, I've never been on probation.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_07]: I hope I don't end up there this early next year, but I might.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_07]: But, uh,
- 29:44[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, probation.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_07]: Well, I don't know if everybody down there, I used to know what's failure is to be there.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_07]: God bless Phil.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_07]: And great family, great people.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_07]: Boy, I remember they he did a lot of stuff for me when I first ran.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_07]: I remember that.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_07]: Good afternoon, you're on the air.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_07]: Danny, and I go ahead, Dan.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_21]: Yeah, you just talk about not paying
- 30:11[SPEAKER_21]: But the question, and then you took off on the projected tangent of blame in the Democrats.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_21]: But here's the question, if we can't afford to pay air contours that control the skies, or USDA, or whatever, if the acronym is radiation of the agency that we're not paying it because they cut them under Elon Musk or Mr. Trump, then here's the question,
- 30:42[SPEAKER_21]: to Argentina, 40 billion with a capital B. Yeah.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_24]: I don't know.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_21]: I don't know.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_21]: I don't know.
- 30:54[UNKNOWN]: I don't know.
- 30:55[UNKNOWN]: I don't know.
- 30:56[UNKNOWN]: I don't know.
- 30:57[UNKNOWN]: I don't know.
- 30:58[UNKNOWN]: I don't know.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_21]: I don't know.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_21]: I don't know.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_21]: I don't know.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_21]: I don't know.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_21]: I don't know.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_21]: I don't know.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_21]: I don't.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_07]: Why do you listen to me?
- 31:14[SPEAKER_07]: Your natural inclination is just a blame Trump.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_07]: I'm saying Republicans have been at fault over the years for some of these shutdowns.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_07]: I'd say get rid of the filibuster.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_07]: In this particular case, the Democrats in a Senate could reopen this government stuff, but they won't.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_07]: For political reasons, they have said, this helps us.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_07]: A lot of Democrats feel they're the results of two these election were a result of the shutdown.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_07]: So I'd want to keep it going if I were them.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_07]: But they have the ability to end it, right now, and they should.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_21]: I agree with you on the side of us, but here's the here's part of why.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_21]: The side of us did not, was not the primary cause of the government shutdown.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_21]: Period.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_21]: It wasn't the cause.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_21]: It's part of a solution.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_07]: No, no, Danny.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_21]: Shut down.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_21]: Danny.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_07]: OK, let me do the math for you.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_07]: Republicans have 53 in the Senate, 52, if you take out the idiot from Kentucky.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_07]: So they could fund the budget with 52 votes, but you need 60 under the Clocher rule, which is the filibuster.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_07]: So the Democrats did have a role, because how do you get from 52 to 60?
- 32:24[SPEAKER_07]: Well, you've got to have eight of the other side.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_21]: Yeah, I understand what the rule is.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_07]: Well, so don't tell me the Democrats have no way.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, no, I don't.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_21]: My question was, or statement was, that the filibuster was not the cause of the shutdown, just the cause of the solution to reopen perhaps was if they'd get the same pass of the Senate back for the house.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_21]: All I know is speaking.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_21]: The house, the house has not even been in Senate under Naga Mike Johnson for a few weeks.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_21]: By now.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, let's play a game here, Danny's in charge, house convenience today, what's the house do?
- 33:07[SPEAKER_21]: Well, of course, if you did, if you must have some business pending, I don't know what you got done.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_21]: I didn't have to represent it, but you got to have some business pending down there.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_21]: Like, wearing in that lady from Arizona who won the election, a month ago.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_21]: Again.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, I don't care about that.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_07]: I don't care about Epstein.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_07]: Danny, I agree with you.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_07]: The lady from Arizona should be sworn in.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_07]: She won the election fair and square.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_07]: I'm able to look at these things objectively.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_07]: You have a strict partisan prism.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_21]: I am too.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_21]: I'm saying to you that the bill of us was not the cause of shutdown.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_21]: The cause of the shutdown started with Elon Musk, all the country government, project 25,
- 33:58[SPEAKER_07]: Danny Danny Danny.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_07]: I got another call.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_07]: All right, Elon Musk.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_07]: All right.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_07]: Thank you.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_07]: All right.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_07]: Bye now.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_07]: Good afternoon.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_07]: I'm here.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_07]: Go ahead.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_07]: You're on here.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_22]: Oh, Mayor, uh, you last caller.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_07]: Mm-hmm.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_22]: Mayor.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_07]: Let's go ahead.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_22]: Yeah.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_22]: He boarded for Kamala Harris.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, I know we do.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_22]: Am I wrong on that?
- 34:21[SPEAKER_22]: And it's President Trump.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_22]: Danny, not Mr. Trump.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_22]: He won an election per and square.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_22]: He buried you and you party and you can't have it.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_22]: Because we got fed up with the whip of what the country ruled in everybody's life.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_22]: Stop sticking up for your party when they're wrong.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_22]: We need five votes to swing, get the damn government open.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_22]: We can't even get Democrats through the right thing.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_22]: You can get the government over and push the CR through.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_22]: And you can just dust the rest of these issues that you get the government going.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_22]: What the hell is the problem?
- 34:52[SPEAKER_22]: Nothing's going to get deep farther than if we do that.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_22]: Everything's staying clean.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_07]: Well, we got the angry guy.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_07]: I know I just see.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_22]: I said.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_22]: One or my right.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_07]: You're right.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_07]: You're right.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_22]: You'll see five Democrats, the polls.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_22]: They get the game covered back.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_22]: All three.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_22]: All three.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_22]: Okay.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_22]: All right.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_22]: Everything stays the same.
- 35:13[UNKNOWN]: Everything's funded.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_22]: People are getting paid.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_22]: You can discuss the other issues.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_22]: I don't want healthcare.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_22]: Illegal area is what a menacee guards, explain that one.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_22]: Okay.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_22]: 42 million people are stat benefits.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_07]: I got ya, yeah.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_22]: I'm free in a year on stat benefits.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_22]: 1 and 8 are people in this country for a stat.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_22]: How that hell is that possible?
- 35:45[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_22]: My father respite children with no government help there.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_22]: You didn't depend on the government to pay you damn bills.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_22]: And Mr. Montgomery's going to solve all your problems.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_22]: With an act of night statement that was the other night.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_22]: One of the worst speeches I've ever heard there.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_22]: Put the most of the power everybody see what happens.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_22]: Every issue in this world is months of trying to take over society.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_22]: They've absolutely ruined,
- 36:20[SPEAKER_07]: Land of 10,000 Lake, shall.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_22]: Yeah, there's there for a lot of speed.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_22]: Doesn't work here.
- 36:28[UNKNOWN]: Look up, shoot real off.
- 36:29[UNKNOWN]: Look up behind her, killings.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_04]: Look it up.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 36:32[UNKNOWN]: Your father picked just a minute here.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_22]: A father picked so his daughters, often, at 14 years old, and she has no say on it.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_22]: And if she thinks the grease, he pulls her away in a back of a taxi camp that happened in Connecticut.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_07]: Wow, that's terrible.
- 36:52[UNKNOWN]: Wow, that's terrible.
- 36:54[UNKNOWN]: Wow, that's terrible.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_22]: Wow, that's terrible.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_22]: Wow, that's terrible.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_22]: Wow, that's terrible.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_22]: Wow, that's terrible.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_22]: Wow, that's terrible.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_22]: Wow, that's terrible.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_22]: Wow, that's terrible.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_22]: Wow, that's terrible.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_07]: Wow, that's terrible.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_07]: Wow, that's terrible.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_07]: Wow, that's terrible.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_07]: Wow, that's terrible.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_07]: Wow, that's terrible.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_22]: Wow, that's terrible.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_22]: Wow, that's terrible.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_22]: Wow, that's terrible.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_22]: Wow, that's terrible.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_22]: Wow, that's terrible.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_22]: Wow, that's terrible.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_22]: Wow, that's terrible.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_22]: Wow, that's terrible.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_22]: Wow, that's terrible.

- 55:18[SPEAKER_07]: I'm kind of ambivalent on Felix.
- 55:21[SPEAKER_07]: But it could be, you know, when you name somebody, it's not just the question of your little delirious coming out of the delivery room, and you tell the nurse a name, and they write it down.
- 55:31[SPEAKER_07]: You got to think about it, because you're settling the kid with this name for their whole life.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_07]: And if it's got a weird spelling, or it's a weird sound, or something like that, first of all, no name should be more than a couple of syllables.
- 55:44[SPEAKER_07]: uh... i'd like for a drick you call it for a for a drick's fine for a drick's fine for a drick the great there's a lot of fredericks out there uh... there was a red uh... wasn't missed monster wasn't he fed and i was for a good played uh... monson for a monson well hermons a good name uh... yeah but i think that we were serving and uh... monsters
- 56:10[SPEAKER_07]: Correct.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, Fred.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 56:13[SPEAKER_07]: I know a guy named Fred.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_07]: He listens to the show every day.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_07]: Great guy.
- 56:17[SPEAKER_07]: In fact, I saw him yesterday.
- 56:20[SPEAKER_20]: Okay.
- 56:20[SPEAKER_20]: I just want to go over there.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_20]: We're here.
- 56:22[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.
- 56:22[SPEAKER_07]: Thank you.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 56:24[SPEAKER_07]: And I'm trying to think of what else.
- 56:29[SPEAKER_07]: This whole name thing is, you know, we in a lot of times when we read the names from the hospital when they're publishing.
- 56:38[SPEAKER_07]: And I never read the last name, so I'm not trying to embarrass anybody, but really people, you know, if you can't decide, get that list that's on news junkie of what social security says at the top names and pick a name, or call me, and I'll tell you what to name your kid.
- 56:55[SPEAKER_07]: I will pick a name for you.
- 56:58[SPEAKER_07]: And I'm not going to give the kid a stupid name that they're going to be embarrassed with the rest of their life, okay?
- 57:05[SPEAKER_07]: Alrighty.
- 57:07[SPEAKER_07]: Bula or Nellie, those are older names.
- 57:12[SPEAKER_07]: Bula.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_07]: Athol, that's an, no.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_07]: And let's just spell it with a Y. Athol, Athol, the gasoline or something.
- 57:25[SPEAKER_07]: But no, I don't agree with that.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_07]: You know, and if you don't want to, if the names like Michael and Mark and Jeff and Joe and Harry, and if they're all gone fine,
- 57:39[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, remember when lightning was in that it was out and all of that.
- 57:42[SPEAKER_07]: There was a brief period of Britney's in the world.
- 57:46[SPEAKER_07]: So, not sure how I feel about it, but, um, of course most people know what the gender of the baby is now before it's born.
- 57:59[SPEAKER_07]: Good afternoon, you're on the air.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_29]: Yeah, you're talking about names and one of my favorite recently from one of the hospital
- 58:10[SPEAKER_04]: Nivella.
- 58:14[UNKNOWN]: Nivella.
- 58:15[SPEAKER_07]: Nivella.
- 58:19[SPEAKER_07]: Nivella.
- 58:21[SPEAKER_07]: Nivella.
- 58:22[SPEAKER_07]: Nivella.
- 58:24[SPEAKER_29]: Nivella.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_29]: Nivella.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_29]: Nivella.
- 58:28[SPEAKER_07]: Nivella.
- 58:29[SPEAKER_07]: Nivella.
- 58:30[SPEAKER_07]: Nivella.
- 58:31[SPEAKER_07]: Nivella.
- 58:33[SPEAKER_07]: Nivella.
- 58:34[SPEAKER_07]: Nivella.
- 58:34[SPEAKER_07]: Nivella.
- 58:35[SPEAKER_07]: Nivella.
- 58:36[SPEAKER_07]: Nivella.
- 58:40[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, how about a boy?
- 58:41[SPEAKER_29]: My probably a middle name would be after a family member.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_29]: A family member's middle name that would make sense.
- 58:52[SPEAKER_29]: But what was the first name?
- 58:54[SPEAKER_29]: And a first name would make sense that it wouldn't live a middle name.
- 58:57[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_07]: Would you know, now, would you know the name well before delivery?
- 59:04[SPEAKER_29]: Oh, yeah.
- 59:05[SPEAKER_29]: I think you actually have to.
- 59:08[SPEAKER_29]: because if otherwise they send the birth certificate in a student after as they can.
- 59:14[SPEAKER_25]: And I know that if you have a name and a choice, they ask you almost right away if you know, the poor man.
- 59:22[UNKNOWN]: So yeah, you would think you would.
- 59:25[SPEAKER_24]: Don't then you better pick something quick because you're not the one with the baby.
- 59:29[SPEAKER_24]: You're just giving it a name.
- 59:31[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, nowadays it's all complicated because everybody's non-binary and trans and all that.
- 59:35[SPEAKER_07]: You don't know what the kid is.
- 59:39[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, thank you.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_07]: Newtrol, the name can call it Newt for short.
- 59:47[SPEAKER_07]: Okay.
- 59:48[SPEAKER_07]: There's problem solved.
- 59:50[SPEAKER_07]: Alrighty, that's our show for today.
- 59:52[SPEAKER_07]: This is the hotline on AM-1240 WATN Watertown, New York.
- 59:56[SPEAKER_07]: The time is 1 o'clock.
- 59:58[SPEAKER_07]: CBS News is next.
- 59:59[SPEAKER_07]: You have a great day.
