- 1:38Speaker 1: the algorithm, and so thank you in advance, everybody, Thank you. Now,
- 1:44Speaker 1: before we go into our recap, Beatrice, what's your takeaway
- 1:49Speaker 1: after this episode?
- 1:50Speaker 2: God, I'm living for this era of Mary just calling
- 1:54Speaker 2: Cody out on his bs and shutting him down. Like
- 1:56Speaker 2: I loved this. I also thought it was equally frustrating
- 2:01Speaker 2: to watch two Capricorns talk to each other and have
- 2:05Speaker 2: one of a be like this malignant narcissist who's just crazy,
- 2:08Speaker 2: and then you have Mary Brown like it was just wild.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:12Speaker 1: I My takeaway is I didn't really I did appreciate
- 2:16Speaker 1: Mary's energy, and I think she came into the interaction
- 2:20Speaker 1: with the right intention and I think she did really
- 2:22Speaker 1: well with like a such a slimy narc as Cody,
- 2:26Speaker 1: But like the amount of times he cut her off
- 2:30Speaker 1: right before she was gonna say the thing that she
- 2:33Speaker 1: really needed to say. It was just like absolutely making
- 2:37Speaker 1: me crazy and fury. I wish she would have just
- 2:40Speaker 1: talked over him. And you can really tell that it
- 2:43Speaker 1: is a long history of him just steamrolling her. Now,
- 2:47Speaker 1: that's not to say she wasn't a hard person to
- 2:49Speaker 1: live with or that she didn't participate in the toxicity,
- 2:52Speaker 1: but like in this snapshot of a conversation, you can
- 2:54Speaker 1: see how he doesn't give a crap about her, not
- 2:57Speaker 1: at all. Doesn't want to hear anything from her.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Oh one thing, getting so obsessed, so frustrating, but juicy though,
- 3:05Speaker 2: very much juicy.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Okay, So let's get into it without any further adew
- 3:11Speaker 1: the recap of Sister Wives season twenty, episode fourteen fourteen
- 3:15Speaker 1: or fifteen. I think it's fourteen fifteen, and told you
- 3:18Speaker 1: are toxic to me, right, I need an acknowledgment to yeah.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Yeah, apologize for being toxic to me, Cody Brown, I apologize.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Okay, my god, I guess if that's what you need
- 3:31Speaker 1: to hear to heal from me, I'll apologize. So everything
- 3:36Speaker 1: was so passive, aggressive, so.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Bad, so mullignant. So the bulk of this episode was
- 3:41Speaker 2: Cody's fake ass apology to Mary. But then we had
- 3:44Speaker 2: a couple other sections that were kind of brief. We'll
- 3:47Speaker 2: start with that will end with Mary's apology. Because there
- 3:50Speaker 2: was so much in there. But we had Janelle out
- 3:53Speaker 2: in North Carolina. She's gardening with Maddie and she's talking
- 3:57Speaker 2: to her about going through with the spiritual release, and
- 4:00Speaker 2: Maddie's like, why, what's the point of doing that? And Janelle,
- 4:05Speaker 2: like she said last week, was she wants to completely
- 4:09Speaker 2: nullify the marriage. She was married to Cody for thirty years,
- 4:13Speaker 2: even though it was in spirit and not legally, she
- 4:16Speaker 2: still feels like she needs to do this to fully
- 4:18Speaker 2: cut all ties with Cody. And you know, if she's right,
- 4:22Speaker 2: and the Mormon God is the god of all of
- 4:24Speaker 2: us and she has to be stuck on a planet,
- 4:26Speaker 2: she don't want to be stuck on a planet with
- 4:28Speaker 2: Cody Brown. So she's going to go through with it.
- 4:30Speaker 2: But what did you think about this conversation with Janelle
- 4:33Speaker 2: and Maddie.
- 4:34Speaker 1: I could understand Janelle's perspective, and I think she says
- 4:37Speaker 1: something like I authentically and intentionally entered into a sacred
- 4:43Speaker 1: covenant of marriage. Like I took that very seriously, and
- 4:45Speaker 1: even though I'm not active in the church right now,
- 4:49Speaker 1: I still think it's important. Yeah, I want to do
- 4:51Speaker 1: everything that I possibly can to sever all ties known
- 4:55Speaker 1: or unknown in this life or the afterlife, like, whatever
- 4:58Speaker 1: I gotta do, I want to do it. And I
- 5:00Speaker 1: can respect and appreciate that because she did spend like
- 5:02Speaker 1: thirty years with that man. Yeah, she wants a little
- 5:05Speaker 1: ceremony around the severing of that connection. But I can
- 5:09Speaker 1: also appreciate Maddie's perspective. She's like, I don't want my
- 5:13Speaker 1: mom to have to go back into the space of
- 5:17Speaker 1: that polygamy, like sitting down in front of like a
- 5:20Speaker 1: council of old white men who are going to decide
- 5:24Speaker 1: whether you can split from your husband. Like that's misogynistic,
- 5:29Speaker 1: that's patriarchal, that's incredibly toxic. So I can understand why
- 5:33Speaker 1: Madison wouldn't want that, But this is about you, Nol. Yeah,
- 5:36Speaker 1: and it's her decision and I respect it.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I respect it too. I also thought it was
- 5:41Speaker 2: interesting that Maddie claimed polygamy was toxic. I mean, obviously,
- 5:45Speaker 2: like we've been saying this for a while, but it
- 5:47Speaker 2: was just interesting to hear it from one of the
- 5:49Speaker 2: og older kids, because if you look back and the
- 5:52Speaker 2: Rolodexes and go back into the rewinds and everything, like
- 5:55Speaker 2: they were so positive about polygamy and thought it was
- 6:00Speaker 2: great like, even though a lot of the older kids
- 6:01Speaker 2: didn't want to live it for themselves, I mean, who would,
- 6:04Speaker 2: they still championed polygamy and thought that it was good
- 6:08Speaker 2: because they had like a pretty decent upbringing with all
- 6:12Speaker 2: of their parents and everything. So I thought it was
- 6:15Speaker 2: interesting and cool that now Maddie as an adult is like, yeah,
- 6:18Speaker 2: polygamy's toxic.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Yeah. I think when she was in it, when they
- 6:21Speaker 1: were all in it, they thought, oh, we're a big,
- 6:23Speaker 1: happy family. But once they were out of it and
- 6:26Speaker 1: when they got to watch the show back, I think
- 6:28Speaker 1: they saw it for what it really is. Did you notice,
- 6:31Speaker 1: perchance when Maddie referred to him as Cody? Yeah, she's a.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Couple of times, so I'm like, ooh, yikes. But she
- 6:40Speaker 2: doesn't have a relationship with him, So why would she
- 6:42Speaker 2: call him dad if he doesn't act like her dad
- 6:45Speaker 2: and he doesn't even know a couple I think he
- 6:46Speaker 2: doesn't know two of her kids, right, just got four.
- 6:49Speaker 2: He hasn't met two of them.
- 6:51Speaker 1: I believe that.
- 6:51Speaker 2: I think's like the younger ones. So yeah, Cody, yeah dad.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Right.
- 6:56Speaker 2: What did you think about Janelle talking about Cody being
- 7:00Speaker 2: aware of the spiritual release and how Cody's like, will yad,
- 7:05Speaker 2: I mean whatever, if you want to get it whatever.
- 7:07Speaker 1: So that was interesting. I wanted to ask you and
- 7:10Speaker 1: everybody else as well, like do we believe him when
- 7:12Speaker 1: he says that he tried to get a spiritual release? No,
- 7:16Speaker 1: because I believe you would have said something about that
- 7:20Speaker 1: in the previous I don't know, however, many seasons just
- 7:22Speaker 1: to be super vindictive. If he actually did that, it
- 7:25Speaker 1: just felt to me like he was lying. I think
- 7:27Speaker 1: he absolutely was aware that Janelle was going for that
- 7:30Speaker 1: spiritual release. Yeah, I think deep down that probably hurts
- 7:34Speaker 1: him on some level. But he's going to pretend like
- 7:37Speaker 1: he's not tracking, and yeah, I don't know what she's doing.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Who cares? You care? I think Cody Brown you care.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Of course he cared because when Mary got her spiritual release,
- 7:47Speaker 2: like he was pissed off that the elders called him
- 7:49Speaker 2: and were like, yeah, we're granting this because you abandoned Mary,
- 7:52Speaker 2: and he was offended because he's like, I didn't abandon her.
- 7:55Speaker 2: I was a great husband. I was there. So I
- 7:59Speaker 2: think he does care. I think he's trying to play
- 8:01Speaker 2: off like he doesn't. I think he's trying to play
- 8:03Speaker 2: off like he went and asked for a release, and
- 8:06Speaker 2: because he's saying like, yeah, I asked, they told me no.
- 8:10Speaker 2: I guess it's some part of the dogma or something.
- 8:12Speaker 2: I don't know what the rules are. What do you mean,
- 8:15Speaker 2: You're the one that converted to this religion. You had
- 8:17Speaker 2: to have known that this was a tenant if it
- 8:20Speaker 2: allegedly is Like, I feel like he could have gotten
- 8:22Speaker 2: a release, he just didn't.
- 8:24Speaker 1: I really don't know what the rules are. I know
- 8:26Speaker 1: if he had tried, though, he would have said so, yeah,
- 8:29Speaker 1: like absolutely, I want to go to the church and
- 8:31Speaker 1: I don't want to have anything to do with these
- 8:33Speaker 1: women that I never loved. Yeah, Like he would have
- 8:35Speaker 1: been saying that all season long, but he never did,
- 8:37Speaker 1: so I think he's lying.
- 8:39Speaker 2: I think so too. And then we have Christine and
- 8:42Speaker 2: David in Utah in their basement because they're renovating it
- 8:46Speaker 2: or whatever. They want to turn it into some apartment
- 8:48Speaker 2: or something.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Can I just preface this entire section by saying, I'm
- 8:53Speaker 1: just so sick of the rehashed historical explanations from this family.
- 8:59Speaker 1: It's kind of insulting at this point, Like Christine, you
- 9:02Speaker 1: have discussed being the basement wife. We've literally heard an item,
- 9:07Speaker 1: like we have heard it a million times, Like, why
- 9:10Speaker 1: do you feel the need to constantly refresh her memory
- 9:14Speaker 1: about how polygamy worked for your family? We know this,
- 9:17Speaker 1: I know about having to be in the basement. We
- 9:19Speaker 1: know this too. Like the only like juicy bit of
- 9:24Speaker 1: information that came out of this section was her talking
- 9:26Speaker 1: about hearing Cody and Mary fight yeah from the basement,
- 9:30Speaker 1: and also other noises that we might hear. I thought
- 9:35Speaker 1: that was a little interesting that she would even be
- 9:36Speaker 1: talking about that. I think Mary's gonna find that to
- 9:39Speaker 1: be disrespectful totally that she said that. But all this
- 9:43Speaker 1: other basement wife lore, like I don't care, I know already.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Well, Like what annoyed me about this conversation was that
- 9:52Speaker 2: Christine was acting like she didn't know what the term,
- 9:55Speaker 2: like that the term basement wife was popular in their community.
- 9:59Speaker 2: She's like, yeah, like I didn't even know, but I
- 10:01Speaker 2: guess they like volunteered to be the basement wife. And
- 10:03Speaker 2: it's like you've been saying that for many years and
- 10:06Speaker 2: you wrote it in your book that we read on Patreon.
- 10:08Speaker 2: By the way, if you want to listen to our
- 10:10Speaker 2: recap of it, but like we're acting like you're so
- 10:14Speaker 2: surprised by this term and you're surprised that it became
- 10:18Speaker 2: a reality in your family. But then I volunteered to
- 10:21Speaker 2: be a basement wife. I'm like, shut up, yeah, we
- 10:24Speaker 2: get it. Yeah, and then we have to end the
- 10:25Speaker 2: scene with being like I'm no longer a basement wife though, right, Daddy, David,
- 10:30Speaker 2: I love you so much. I'm so glad that I'm
- 10:31Speaker 2: like your whole wife. Like we know, that's great, that's awesome.
- 10:35Speaker 2: I feel like you guys could manufacture better content for
- 10:38Speaker 2: us to watch than you guys just standing in your
- 10:40Speaker 2: unfinished basement talking about being a basement wife.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure. Like I would not mind a bit
- 10:48Speaker 1: to meet some of David's family. I know we did
- 10:51Speaker 1: during the wedding special and stuff like that, but like,
- 10:54Speaker 1: get to know who these people actually are, maybe introduce
- 10:57Speaker 1: some interesting new characters. Find out about David's past, Yeah,
- 11:01Speaker 1: because I think he mentioned in last week's episode, Like,
- 11:03Speaker 1: believe me, Cody, I've been there with my kids, right,
- 11:06Speaker 1: Like what does that mean? Like did you have a
- 11:08Speaker 1: falling out with your children after your wife passed? And
- 11:11Speaker 1: I would love just something fresh, Yep, something new in
- 11:14Speaker 1: the dumpster to chow on. Yeah, not the same basement
- 11:19Speaker 1: wife conversation. I was just like, oh God.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Help me, and talking about how polygamy isn't equal and
- 11:26Speaker 2: it wasn't equal in their family, like we know. I
- 11:28Speaker 2: think we've been saying that for thirteen episodes of this
- 11:31Speaker 2: season already, Like we get it, I understand. And then
- 11:34Speaker 2: we had to talk about like the hierarchy with the
- 11:37Speaker 2: wife and how Cody didn't want a pecking order but
- 11:40Speaker 2: then inevitably had a pecking order. And then I guess
- 11:43Speaker 2: Mary was like the head wife because she was the
- 11:45Speaker 2: legal wife. Like we know this already as well. We
- 11:49Speaker 2: know that Mary was in charge of everything and she
- 11:52Speaker 2: was a big old bitch allegedly, and that her Enganelle
- 11:54Speaker 2: had problems, and then her and Christine had problems, like
- 11:58Speaker 2: we know. Then we have to hear from who was like, yeah,
- 12:02Speaker 2: if there was a hierarchy, it's because people weren't being cool.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Well they were cool before you got into the family though,
- 12:09Speaker 1: And I actually really loved hearing Mary talk about like,
- 12:12Speaker 1: well before Robin, Cody was really great with rotating his
- 12:16Speaker 1: affection and like going from wife to wife to wife.
- 12:19Speaker 1: But then as soon as Robin came, then there was
- 12:21Speaker 1: a favorite wife and then there were some issues. And
- 12:24Speaker 1: I thought that was that was nice to hear Mary,
- 12:27Speaker 1: Like we all knew that. Yeah, it's great to hear
- 12:29Speaker 1: it from you.
- 12:30Speaker 2: It's great to hear her finally verbalize it after so
- 12:32Speaker 2: many years of totally copying for Robin and Cody. But
- 12:35Speaker 2: it's like it only happens after her and Robin have
- 12:39Speaker 2: a falling out and then you want to tell the truth.
- 12:42Speaker 2: But I did appreciate that comment from Mary, I will say,
- 12:45Speaker 2: and I was pretty much it from that section with
- 12:47Speaker 2: Christine and David. It was just talking about basement wives
- 12:49Speaker 2: and polygamy and.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Like how polygamist weddings are like funeral rights and the
- 12:54Speaker 1: legal wife has the nicest wedding and then it just
- 12:56Speaker 1: gets worse and worse from there. Although not for Robin,
- 13:00Speaker 1: she got the very best wedding out of all of
- 13:02Speaker 1: the four wives.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Yes, she did get a really nice wedding. And what
- 13:06Speaker 2: else did she Oh, she got the wedding dress that
- 13:09Speaker 2: she got to pick with Cody, Like, so, yeah, she
- 13:12Speaker 2: got the perfect experience. Robert or Christine got the funeral.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Wedding unfortunately in the case and the funeral honeymoon according
- 13:21Speaker 1: to her book.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Yeah, and like, look, I know we were very critical
- 13:25Speaker 2: of Christine and her whole wedding and like the whole
- 13:28Speaker 2: wedding special last season because it was a lot because
- 13:30Speaker 2: we saw so much of it. But it makes sense
- 13:33Speaker 2: why she went like so over the top and why
- 13:36Speaker 2: she has been so over the top with David and
- 13:38Speaker 2: how she's been so affectionate with him and googoo gaga
- 13:41Speaker 2: over him, Like I get it, and I'm glad for that.
- 13:44Speaker 2: I would love to see more of their relationship. I
- 13:47Speaker 2: would love to see more of it outside of the
- 13:49Speaker 2: realm of like talking about polygamy and talking about how
- 13:52Speaker 2: Cody fucked up polygamy, like we know, yeah, we get
- 13:55Speaker 2: it right. And then we have Janelle also traveling I
- 13:58Speaker 2: think back to Utah, Yeah, yeah, to talk to the
- 14:02Speaker 2: church leaders or whatever. She's going to ask them for
- 14:05Speaker 2: the spiritual release and she's like nervous about it because
- 14:07Speaker 2: she hasn't seen or talked to any of them in
- 14:10Speaker 2: fifteen years or something like that. And that's kind of
- 14:12Speaker 2: how we leave the episode. It was like a cliffhanger,
- 14:15Speaker 2: which I'm sure it's going to be a nothing burger. Yeah.
- 14:18Speaker 1: I think she's going to get it, and then I
- 14:20Speaker 1: think she's going to meet up with Mary. What I
- 14:22Speaker 1: liked about this scene in Salt Lake City, though, was
- 14:25Speaker 1: her enumerating the reasons she felt she qualified for the release.
- 14:30Speaker 1: I think she said, we no longer live together. He's
- 14:33Speaker 1: totally in love with his wife, and he is estranged
- 14:37Speaker 1: from all of my children, and I think there was
- 14:39Speaker 1: one other that I might be missing, But like she
- 14:41Speaker 1: laid it out there, and based on these grounds, I
- 14:44Speaker 1: should be entitled to a release.
- 14:46Speaker 2: You know.
- 14:46Speaker 1: He's just gonna hate, oh yeah, to hear that, and
- 14:49Speaker 1: I learned and I love that for him too.
- 14:50Speaker 2: I love that. And I also kind of feel bad
- 14:52Speaker 2: for Janelle because she's having to come up with these
- 14:55Speaker 2: justifications for this spiritual release, because she is nervous about
- 14:59Speaker 2: the the elder saying like, no, we're not gonna grant it,
- 15:03Speaker 2: and she compares it to Mary, and she says that
- 15:06Speaker 2: her situation was so much more different because Mary and
- 15:09Speaker 2: Cody were not living together for many, many, many years,
- 15:12Speaker 2: and so it was granted on the grounds of abandonment.
- 15:16Speaker 2: So she's worried that the elders will somehow be like, no,
- 15:20Speaker 2: we're gonna have you be married to coding prown. But
- 15:22Speaker 2: I'm sure the elders are gonna be like, yeah, we
- 15:24Speaker 2: granted one release, We're gonna grant We.
- 15:26Speaker 1: All watch the show like we get it. When Maddie
- 15:29Speaker 1: did ask her, what are you gonna do if they
- 15:31Speaker 1: say no, right, and I liked her response, She's like, well,
- 15:35Speaker 1: then I know that I have done absolutely everything I
- 15:39Speaker 1: need to do in order to extricate myself from this marriage,
- 15:43Speaker 1: and I just have to trust that God sees me
- 15:46Speaker 1: and God knows the truth, and at the end of
- 15:47Speaker 1: the day, it's gonna work out in my favor because
- 15:49Speaker 1: I'm doing all the right things.
- 15:51Speaker 2: I mean, really, like, if you think about it, if
- 15:52Speaker 2: this turns out to be true, right, and Mormon God
- 15:55Speaker 2: on Coolab looks at.
- 15:56Speaker 1: This, fucked, we're so fun to her, we don't get
- 15:59Speaker 1: a planet Hell, straight to Hell.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Purgatorio or whatever. Seriously, But I mean, I feel like
- 16:06Speaker 2: Mormon God on Kolab would look at Janelle being unhappy
- 16:10Speaker 2: on Cody's planet with Robin and be like, you know
- 16:12Speaker 2: what I'll do you a solid I'll put you over
- 16:14Speaker 2: here with a beautiful planet with a beautiful garden, with
- 16:18Speaker 2: your babies and everything. It'll be great.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like that'll happen. I think so too,
- 16:22Speaker 1: But what do I know? And I think she feels
- 16:24Speaker 1: confident in that she does say though, like if they
- 16:26Speaker 1: said no, it would lead to some kind of a
- 16:29Speaker 1: crisis of faith, which I find to be interesting because
- 16:34Speaker 1: it seems to me like you're already not aligned with
- 16:37Speaker 1: AaB for fifteen years, you haven't been affiliated, Like why
- 16:39Speaker 1: don't we care so much what these people have to say?
- 16:41Speaker 1: But I mean, okay, that's your journey.
- 16:42Speaker 2: I guess it is her journey, and I don't understand
- 16:45Speaker 2: that too, Like why are you so worried about what
- 16:47Speaker 2: they're gonna say if you haven't been a part of
- 16:49Speaker 2: it for fifteen years, and if it's supposed to be
- 16:53Speaker 2: like a separate sect from like LDS, Like why are
- 16:56Speaker 2: you even trippin'?
- 16:58Speaker 1: Well? Because she entered into the union through the system
- 17:01Speaker 1: of that, maybe she wants to cleanly exit the union
- 17:04Speaker 1: through the system.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Of that, And look, that's fair, But I also respect
- 17:07Speaker 2: Christine for not giving a fuck.
- 17:09Speaker 1: And Maddie being like, Mom, you do not need to
- 17:12Speaker 1: do that.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Wouldn't it be awesome? Though? If Christine like next season
- 17:16Speaker 2: was like, Yeah, I'm gonna get a spiritual release because
- 17:19Speaker 2: Janelle and Mary got it, so now I'm gonna do it.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Wouldn't that be great? That would be fantastic.
- 17:23Speaker 2: And watch the aub be like, no, it's actually for you.
- 17:26Speaker 1: You're gonna have to spend the rest of your eternal
- 17:28Speaker 1: life on a planet watching Cody bang Robin.
- 17:32Speaker 2: That'd be so terrible.
- 17:33Speaker 1: And you'll be in the basement of the planet and
- 17:35Speaker 1: you have to make dinner for all of their children,
- 17:37Speaker 1: their eternal children. Oh my god.
- 17:39Speaker 2: No, but for real though, but that would be really funny.
- 17:42Speaker 2: I would love to see that in season twenty one.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Christine being like, you know what, I'm actually gonna go
- 17:46Speaker 2: through with the spiritual release.
- 17:47Speaker 1: That'd be great.
- 17:48Speaker 2: It'd be so great. And then we get to the
- 17:50Speaker 2: bulk of the episode, which is Cody's apology to Mary.
- 17:54Speaker 2: So he pulls on it to this booty ass park
- 17:58Speaker 2: in Cedar City, Utah to meet with Mary.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Janelle got a nice little restaurant with Cody, Christine and
- 18:08Speaker 1: David got to meet him at the big conference room
- 18:11Speaker 1: in Vegas and go go kart racing and go go
- 18:13Speaker 1: kart racing. But Mary, you get a picnic bench, not
- 18:17Speaker 1: unlike the one on Cody pass, which is where he
- 18:19Speaker 1: sat you down to break up with you last bad
- 18:21Speaker 1: You got a picnic bench and that's it for you, honey.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Yikes. But I did love that Mary showed up with
- 18:29Speaker 2: boss bitch energy.
- 18:30Speaker 1: She did.
- 18:31Speaker 2: I mean she was not upset. I mean she was
- 18:34Speaker 2: like she showed up unbothered. She's like, I don't know,
- 18:38Speaker 2: like we'll see what he has to fucking say.
- 18:40Speaker 1: I felt like she was looking a little bit for
- 18:43Speaker 1: a fight. But I feel like that's entirely valid, Like
- 18:47Speaker 1: he wants to give her a hug when he sees her,
- 18:50Speaker 1: and she's like, we're not really cool like that. We
- 18:54Speaker 1: haven't really been cool like that for quite some time.
- 18:56Speaker 1: And so just from the very beginning, she's setting a
- 18:58Speaker 1: tone and this what triggers Cody immediately, and so the
- 19:02Speaker 1: rest of the conversation goes terribly because of that, because
- 19:05Speaker 1: is so horrible. She's not falling into line. And I
- 19:08Speaker 1: really wish I knew whether she ultimately signed some kind
- 19:12Speaker 1: of NDA with him, because if I recall correctly, he
- 19:16Speaker 1: asked once. I think she said no. Maybe he put
- 19:19Speaker 1: a different agreement in front of me, Like we can't
- 19:21Speaker 1: talk about these specifically.
- 19:22Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 19:23Speaker 1: I don't know if she ever signed anything, but I
- 19:25Speaker 1: am curious about it.
- 19:27Speaker 2: I am too, because it did seem like she was
- 19:30Speaker 2: not going full force, like I feel like, I think
- 19:33Speaker 2: you're right. She was probably showing up looking for a fight.
- 19:36Speaker 2: And I would be too mm hm, oh my god.
- 19:38Speaker 2: I would be so livid to have to just sit
- 19:41Speaker 2: down and do this fakess apology with Cody the Brown,
- 19:45Speaker 2: knowing full well that it's like just for the cameras,
- 19:49Speaker 2: it's just for the show. But she shows up, she
- 19:52Speaker 2: tries to be a little bit nice. I did love that.
- 19:55Speaker 2: She was like I'm not gonna hug you. We're not
- 19:58Speaker 2: friends like that. And then Cody asks her some follow
- 20:00Speaker 2: up question like so how's life, Like what's going on.
- 20:02Speaker 2: She's like, you don't know me like that.
- 20:04Speaker 1: She's like, I'm thriving. Actually I'm thriving out here in
- 20:07Speaker 1: these streets. He's like, oh, like how are you thriving?
- 20:09Speaker 1: And he's like, she's like, I appreciate your curiosity, but like,
- 20:12Speaker 1: I'm not here to tell you about my life and
- 20:14Speaker 1: all of my secrets. He's like, I'm literally not asking
- 20:17Speaker 1: for your secrets. I'm just trying to find out if
- 20:20Speaker 1: you're okay. But all right, I see how it's going
- 20:22Speaker 1: to be.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Well and she's like, I know you're not asking for
- 20:24Speaker 2: my secrets, but I'm still not going to tell you
- 20:25Speaker 2: anything because we're still not friends. He's like, well, I'm
- 20:28Speaker 2: trying to be friendly. Well, okay, I tried to do that,
- 20:31Speaker 2: but it didn't work out that way Cody. So it's just,
- 20:35Speaker 2: oh my god. They really do kind of tip for
- 20:37Speaker 2: tat the entire time with each other the entire time,
- 20:40Speaker 2: and you could tell Cody was so triggered by all
- 20:43Speaker 2: of it. And I think that was why she was
- 20:46Speaker 2: the last one. That's why she gets the park bench
- 20:48Speaker 2: and she doesn't even get a restaurant or even a drink.
- 20:52Speaker 2: She just gets a fucking free park bench filming because
- 20:56Speaker 2: she does trigger him the most. Because I think they're
- 20:59Speaker 2: very similar in like they both come in with hard energy,
- 21:03Speaker 2: want to be right, and like two things could be
- 21:05Speaker 2: true at once, Like Mary could have been a total,
- 21:07Speaker 2: big old bitch in the earlier she could have totally
- 21:09Speaker 2: made everyone's life hell in the early years especially, but
- 21:14Speaker 2: at the same time, Cody was a piece of shit husband,
- 21:18Speaker 2: not just to Mary, but to Christine and to Janelle.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Well, he talks about not wanting a pecking order with
- 21:24Speaker 1: his wives and never wanting one wife to be in
- 21:27Speaker 1: control of the other wives, but then they started arranging
- 21:31Speaker 1: themselves in a pecking order, and he's just like, you
- 21:34Speaker 1: guys figure it out. You guys can scrap it out yourselves.
- 21:36Speaker 1: I'm just gonna go and pay the mortgage, thank you.
- 21:38Speaker 1: I'm like, when did you ever pay the mortgage? I
- 21:40Speaker 1: mean Janelle who was out here working and Christine had
- 21:44Speaker 1: to work at night so they could also help pay
- 21:45Speaker 1: the mortgage. But like, you just left your wives to
- 21:50Speaker 1: fight it out like wolves. Yeah, as you just skipped
- 21:54Speaker 1: out of the house and never took any responsibility for anything,
- 21:57Speaker 1: which you are continuing to do this conversation with Mary.
- 22:01Speaker 1: He takes responsibility for nothing. It's clear he has come
- 22:04Speaker 1: here with a list of items that he wants to
- 22:07Speaker 1: apologize for. But he is so insincere when you just
- 22:12Speaker 1: look at his face if you read body language, which
- 22:15Speaker 1: I absolutely don't, so I'm just talking out of my
- 22:17Speaker 1: ass right now. But like sometimes the way he looks
- 22:19Speaker 1: at her is with such disgust yep, like she is
- 22:24Speaker 1: so beneath him, and anytime she opens her mouth to
- 22:28Speaker 1: say anything, he's just like looking at her like yeah,
- 22:32Speaker 1: like he can't stand her well.
- 22:34Speaker 2: And like the whole time he's like trying to apologize
- 22:37Speaker 2: to her at the park on the couch, he tries
- 22:41Speaker 2: to spin this story or this narrative to act like
- 22:45Speaker 2: Mary was the one coming in with terrible energy, Like
- 22:48Speaker 2: I was coming in trying to be friendly. I was
- 22:50Speaker 2: trying to be benevolent, and it was really hard because
- 22:53Speaker 2: you know, me and Mary's relationship has been like a minefield.
- 22:56Speaker 2: It's just like so hard to deal with her. Like
- 22:57Speaker 2: he's trying to spin it like it was Mary being
- 23:01Speaker 2: the bad guy the entire time, like that he was
- 23:03Speaker 2: the victim being abused at this park pinch, and it's like, dude,
- 23:07Speaker 2: you were gaslighting her the entire time, and like you
- 23:09Speaker 2: say these things like I apologize for saying I never
- 23:12Speaker 2: loved you, I apologize for being toxic, But then he's
- 23:16Speaker 2: not taking full responsibility. He's not sitting in the weight
- 23:19Speaker 2: of anything.
- 23:20Speaker 1: You won't even let her finish a thought. I loved
- 23:23Speaker 1: when she said, like, are we just here to listen
- 23:26Speaker 1: to you apologize or can this be a conversation where
- 23:29Speaker 1: like I actually get to say things too, because I'm
- 23:31Speaker 1: not able to say them because you keep cutting me off,
- 23:33Speaker 1: which is something you have always done in this relationship.
- 23:36Speaker 1: And as she's just trying to say that, he cuts
- 23:38Speaker 1: her off. He cuts her off again. I don't want
- 23:40Speaker 1: to look at the luggage. The luggage is downstream. We
- 23:44Speaker 1: don't need to go through the luggag. She's like, I'm
- 23:45Speaker 1: not talking about luggage. I'm talking about in this moment,
- 23:49Speaker 1: I would like to be able to complete a goddamn sentence.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Would you let me speak?
- 23:53Speaker 2: No, he won't. And even when she says that and
- 23:56Speaker 2: says like, I'm not gonna let you shut me down.
- 23:58Speaker 2: I'm not gonna let you keep cutting me off, Cody
- 24:01Speaker 2: has to make a snide remark, and I think it
- 24:03Speaker 2: was on the couch, saying like, well, I've got two
- 24:05Speaker 2: ex wives and Robin who say that I never used
- 24:08Speaker 2: to cut you off. I never shut you down. So
- 24:10Speaker 2: I don't know what the fuck she's saying, because I
- 24:13Speaker 2: always let her talk. It's like, okay, are we what
- 24:16Speaker 2: are we doing?
- 24:16Speaker 1: He's triangulating. He's trying to make sure that Mary hears
- 24:20Speaker 1: that everybody else does do not agree that she was silenced,
- 24:23Speaker 1: and so it cannot be true. And he wants us
- 24:25Speaker 1: to believe that as well. But like we're seeing it
- 24:27Speaker 1: right in this conversation, you're not letting her say her
- 24:31Speaker 1: piece and listen, if we're going to apologize to somebody,
- 24:34Speaker 1: if we're coming from a true place, like you have to.
- 24:38Speaker 1: First of all, you can't have an expectation about whether
- 24:41Speaker 1: they accept that apology or not. And it's really not
- 24:43Speaker 1: about that, but you have to give them this space
- 24:46Speaker 1: to receive it and respond in whatever way they feel
- 24:49Speaker 1: is best for them. It's so obvious that he's not
- 24:52Speaker 1: giving her any room to express herself in any way,
- 24:57Speaker 1: and he's just hoping she'll go along with it. He's
- 25:00Speaker 1: hoping she understands we're doing this for the cams. We're
- 25:03Speaker 1: doing this for the cram. I'm not really here because
- 25:05Speaker 1: they care about you. I'm here because I want to
- 25:08Speaker 1: make television with you. Are you game for that? And
- 25:10Speaker 1: she is not? She's not. And it was so good
- 25:12Speaker 1: to see her. And it wasn't that she showed up
- 25:15Speaker 1: like with a bad attitude. She showed up with boundaries. Yes,
- 25:18Speaker 1: And you could tell too that he's actively pissed whenever
- 25:23Speaker 1: this was filmed, and I'm not sure when it was filmed.
- 25:25Speaker 1: I was trying to figure it out based on his hair,
- 25:27Speaker 1: I know, in his slight little body, and like it's
- 25:30Speaker 1: like spring.
- 25:31Speaker 3: Before Special Forces.
- 25:32Speaker 2: It's probably right before he went on Special Force.
- 25:34Speaker 1: But like you're still mad about Jen, Yeah, And he
- 25:37Speaker 1: doesn't understand that her friends said what they said about
- 25:42Speaker 1: you because you spent three seasons trashing Mary, which she
- 25:46Speaker 1: tries to tell him, yep, like my friends wouldn't be
- 25:48Speaker 1: out here saying things about you, and then he cuts
- 25:52Speaker 1: her off. I know, he cuts her off.
- 25:54Speaker 2: And he keeps saying like, oh, I don't want to argue,
- 25:56Speaker 2: like again, trying to put it on Mary, like she's
- 25:58Speaker 2: being argumentative and she's being bitchy in this situation, and
- 26:01Speaker 2: it's like no, like that's the issue. And he even
- 26:04Speaker 2: came to this apology with that in mind, Like I
- 26:08Speaker 2: think he talked about it on the couch, saying like
- 26:10Speaker 2: him and Mary had a good moment when he helped
- 26:13Speaker 2: her move and everything was fine, but then he found
- 26:17Speaker 2: out that her friends were talking shit about him, and
- 26:19Speaker 2: so then he called her up and got super mad
- 26:21Speaker 2: at her for what her friends I got it right
- 26:24Speaker 2: in her face on the phone.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Right, he had to correct himself exactly. Like the first
- 26:28Speaker 1: time the friends thing comes up, though, is like when
- 26:31Speaker 1: they're walking to the picnic bench and she's like, well,
- 26:34Speaker 1: I've tried to be a friend to you, but like
- 26:37Speaker 1: that really hasn't worked out. And then he says something like, well,
- 26:39Speaker 1: that's your friends because of your friends and what they've done,
- 26:43Speaker 1: and it's like, immediately out of the gate, he's got
- 26:45Speaker 1: a problem with Jen and all of her friends. And
- 26:49Speaker 1: there was a lot last season there was, and there's
- 26:51Speaker 1: a good amount this season with Janelle's rando friends, and
- 26:54Speaker 1: we appreciate that, but like he's but hurt. But how
- 26:56Speaker 1: much of a hypocrite do you have.
- 26:59Speaker 3: To be to take, in literal years, saying the most violent,
- 27:03Speaker 3: disgusting and invalidating things about all of these women and
- 27:06Speaker 3: then feel like them responding or having their friends respond
- 27:11Speaker 3: and defend them, like is such a terrible thing.
- 27:15Speaker 2: Well, and it's like such a narcissistic thing to be, like,
- 27:19Speaker 2: you need to have your friends stop talking bad about me. Like,
- 27:21Speaker 2: first of all, they're their own independent people, and they're
- 27:24Speaker 2: allowed to say whatever the fuck they want to say.
- 27:26Speaker 2: If it's on TV or not. They're allowed to say
- 27:28Speaker 2: what they think of you because they're free people. But
- 27:32Speaker 2: he can't deal with that. He's an avid comment reader.
- 27:37Speaker 2: We know that from Christine's book. Like he's always on
- 27:39Speaker 2: the social media, so he's seeing what everybody in the
- 27:41Speaker 2: world and what we're saying about him. Probably on our podcast,
- 27:45Speaker 2: he's probably listening right now. Fuck you Gody if you are.
- 27:48Speaker 2: But like, it's the fact that it's Mary's friends and
- 27:51Speaker 2: it's people that are close to Mary, because he, I think,
- 27:55Speaker 2: is afraid of what they know and like what they
- 27:57Speaker 2: know about him, what they know about him and Mary's relationship.
- 28:01Speaker 2: I think he's afraid of what Mary's been telling them.
- 28:03Speaker 2: I think he's afraid of something getting out. So he's like,
- 28:06Speaker 2: tell your loud mouth friends to shut up. No, dude,
- 28:09Speaker 2: they're not going to and you can cry about it. Yeah,
- 28:13Speaker 2: you can be mad about it. Nobody cares well.
- 28:15Speaker 1: And I feel like he always needs to attribute some
- 28:19Speaker 1: peripheral person's criticism of him to a primary player. And
- 28:23Speaker 1: what I mean by that is like when the kids
- 28:25Speaker 1: come out and criticize Cody, then that's Janelle's fault or
- 28:29Speaker 1: that's Christine's fault, and it's because both of those women
- 28:32Speaker 1: are turning his children against him. Great and then having
- 28:34Speaker 1: Jen come out and these other women come out and
- 28:37Speaker 1: defend Mary, well, that's because Mary is causing them to
- 28:39Speaker 1: do that and embarrass him on national television. So he
- 28:42Speaker 1: can blame Mary. He can focus on Mary as opposed
- 28:45Speaker 1: to addressing the things that are actually being said that
- 28:49Speaker 1: are critical of him, right and like owning any of
- 28:52Speaker 1: that or examining any of that, or like trying to
- 28:54Speaker 1: do something to make amends for that, Like far be
- 28:57Speaker 1: it from him right to do any of that work.
- 28:59Speaker 1: He's just going to blame somebody close to him and
- 29:01Speaker 1: take it out on them.
- 29:02Speaker 2: That's such a great point, Like and if you were
- 29:04Speaker 2: so upset, and if you knew Jen, like Jen's been
- 29:07Speaker 2: in your guys' lives for fifteen sixteen years or something
- 29:10Speaker 2: like that, like why don't you like call up Jen
- 29:13Speaker 2: and be like, hey, why are you saying this shit
- 29:15Speaker 2: about me on TV? Let's talk about it?
- 29:16Speaker 1: Because to be scared because you know she would lay
- 29:19Speaker 1: into him.
- 29:19Speaker 2: Oh she so would, and she would never fall for
- 29:22Speaker 2: any of his bullshit. So of course he has to
- 29:25Speaker 2: go to Mary. And I think he was so taken
- 29:28Speaker 2: aback by how Mary was not falling for any of
- 29:32Speaker 2: his bullshit. He kept saying, I apologize, I apologize, and
- 29:36Speaker 2: Mary calls him out for this and is like, you know,
- 29:38Speaker 2: you keep using this word and you keep saying I apologize,
- 29:42Speaker 2: but it doesn't feel sincere, and it feels a bit
- 29:44Speaker 2: extreme and a bit performative. And Cody on the couch
- 29:48Speaker 2: is like, well, I just have to ignore that she
- 29:50Speaker 2: said that, and I just have to keep apologizing, because
- 29:53Speaker 2: you know, how can you be mad at somebody who's
- 29:54Speaker 2: saying sorry all the time?
- 29:57Speaker 3: Your delusional.
- 29:58Speaker 1: He's also dumb. He's not, in mytionally intelligent. I don't
- 30:01Speaker 1: said a million times, but he just doesn't get it,
- 30:04Speaker 1: not at all.
- 30:05Speaker 2: This whole conversation was so frustrating to watch because I mean,
- 30:10Speaker 2: I've been saying from the get go that all of
- 30:12Speaker 2: these apologies from Cody have been bullshit. They were fake,
- 30:15Speaker 2: they're super performative. I don't think that there was any
- 30:18Speaker 2: sincerity with any of them whatsoever, because to be sincere
- 30:23Speaker 2: in apology, in an apology is to sit in the
- 30:26Speaker 2: full weight of your responsibility and how you destroyed all
- 30:29Speaker 2: of your relationships. There was like one little kernel that
- 30:32Speaker 2: I felt like he was a little bit sincere when
- 30:34Speaker 2: he was apologizing for how he handled the divorces, and
- 30:38Speaker 2: he cries a little bit. He says, like, I'm really
- 30:41Speaker 2: ashamed because he had always said, at least to the
- 30:44Speaker 2: OG three, that from the get go, if one of
- 30:48Speaker 2: them wanted to leave, he would make sure that they
- 30:50Speaker 2: were taken care of and he would pay child support
- 30:52Speaker 2: and like he would be as kind as possible. And
- 30:55Speaker 2: when the divorces ultimately happened, he didn't do any of that,
- 30:58Speaker 2: and he went completely the opposite of what his soul
- 31:03Speaker 2: was telling him to do and who he was as
- 31:07Speaker 2: a person, how he always said he was going to
- 31:09Speaker 2: do this stuff and he didn't do it. I felt
- 31:11Speaker 2: like that was sincere. But then he goes right back
- 31:13Speaker 2: into the bullshit, and then he says something else about
- 31:17Speaker 2: the like not loving her.
- 31:19Speaker 1: Yeah, he apologizes, and it does seem to be somewhat sincere.
- 31:24Speaker 1: He apologizes for saying that he didn't love her, for
- 31:27Speaker 1: not being there for her in Vegas, not being there
- 31:31Speaker 1: for her in her dark time, and I'm just like,
- 31:34Speaker 1: what time is that?
- 31:35Speaker 2: I mean, Catfish?
- 31:36Speaker 1: Was it the Catfish or was it flag Staff? Because
- 31:38Speaker 1: She then says something like, well, I had a dark
- 31:40Speaker 1: time because you weren't there, and so I'm wondering if
- 31:42Speaker 1: it's the COVID years. I am not sure. In those
- 31:46Speaker 1: small moments, he did seem sincere, but there were so
- 31:48Speaker 1: many apologies that actually came across as insults, like when
- 31:54Speaker 1: he says something like well, I'm sorry Mary that I
- 31:56Speaker 1: don't find you hilarious. Oh my god, that was so rude.
- 31:59Speaker 2: I know.
- 32:00Speaker 1: He said a few things like that, while I'm sorry
- 32:02Speaker 1: they didn't understand that you're toxic, Like yeah, the way
- 32:06Speaker 1: he phrased it, I'm like, oh my god, you're such
- 32:08Speaker 1: a petty, awful, poisonous little person.
- 32:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:11Speaker 2: There was another one where she said something about how
- 32:14Speaker 2: she was trying to be kind to him, and he's like, well,
- 32:16Speaker 2: i'm sorry, I didn't think that you were being kinder,
- 32:19Speaker 2: Like I'm sorry that I didn't know that you were
- 32:21Speaker 2: being kind, Or.
- 32:21Speaker 1: How about when they first sat down at the picnic
- 32:24Speaker 1: table and he's like, well you got that money, huh, yeah,
- 32:27Speaker 1: you got your share. You've got your share of coyote pass.
- 32:31Speaker 1: I forget how he phrased it, and he's like, smile,
- 32:34Speaker 1: you should be happy. For that, I'm like, why should
- 32:35Speaker 1: she be happy? And she just stares at him. I know, like,
- 32:38Speaker 1: why would I be happy about that? That was my
- 32:40Speaker 1: fair share. I paid into Coyote Pass equally with everybody else.
- 32:45Speaker 1: I also contributed to Robin's mcmansin. I gave a lot
- 32:49Speaker 1: of money into this family. So why am I supposed
- 32:51Speaker 1: to be so happy that you did the right thing?
- 32:52Speaker 1: Why were you not going to.
- 32:53Speaker 3: Do the right thing?
- 32:54Speaker 2: I mean, really, like, what is that supposed to mean?
- 32:56Speaker 2: It was literally him just being like, well, you shouldn't
- 32:58Speaker 2: be upset anymore because I did.
- 33:00Speaker 1: The right thing.
- 33:00Speaker 2: I did the right thing. And even then it was
- 33:03Speaker 2: a little bit less than her fair share because Cody
- 33:06Speaker 2: and Robin got more of Coyote Pass than they were allotted.
- 33:10Speaker 2: But whatever, I guess it's nicol and dimes at this point.
- 33:14Speaker 2: Everybody got their their pain.
- 33:15Speaker 1: But she should be satisfied. She happy got what you
- 33:18Speaker 1: paid into the property, you got what you were owed.
- 33:21Speaker 1: It's because I'm such a great guy.
- 33:24Speaker 2: It's so ridiculous.
- 33:25Speaker 1: He's so bad.
- 33:26Speaker 2: He's so bad, and like he set out on this
- 33:29Speaker 2: apology tour saying that this was benevolence and that I'm
- 33:33Speaker 2: extending in all of branch and that even if they
- 33:35Speaker 2: don't want to accept my apology, like I'm just trying
- 33:37Speaker 2: to do this in good faith because I'm trying to
- 33:39Speaker 2: get right with God and get right with myself and
- 33:41Speaker 2: blah blah blah blah. But like in this conversation with Mary,
- 33:44Speaker 2: it's clear he didn't even want to apologize for anything.
- 33:47Speaker 2: He was just doing it because she's the last one,
- 33:49Speaker 2: and he already did it with Christine and Janelle and
- 33:52Speaker 2: it went okay with those two. So I'm going to
- 33:55Speaker 2: force it with Mary just for the cameras, so that
- 33:58Speaker 2: way I can say that I did it and then
- 34:00Speaker 2: move on. And at the end of it, he says
- 34:02Speaker 2: something like I just want to let it go, Like
- 34:05Speaker 2: we can't like tip for tap forever. We just have
- 34:07Speaker 2: to be able to let it go. I want you
- 34:09Speaker 2: to move on. I want to be happy, we to
- 34:11Speaker 2: live a free life. And Mary's like I've been doing that.
- 34:15Speaker 2: I don't need your permission and I don't need this
- 34:17Speaker 2: stupid apology.
- 34:19Speaker 1: I don't need any of this closure that you're offering.
- 34:22Speaker 1: I'm moved on, I'm living my best life. I need you.
- 34:26Speaker 1: Nobody cares about you. It's just ridiculous, it is.
- 34:30Speaker 2: And when she tries to bring up the kids, this
- 34:32Speaker 2: part pissed me off so bad.
- 34:34Speaker 1: I said, you're not allowed to talk. It's verboten, which
- 34:36Speaker 1: means you're not allowed to talk about it forbidding. You
- 34:39Speaker 1: can't tell me what the fuck to talk about.
- 34:40Speaker 2: See.
- 34:41Speaker 1: I would have loved to see a little bit of
- 34:43Speaker 1: back for Mary. I would have loved for her to
- 34:45Speaker 1: get into her feelings about that and just talk right
- 34:47Speaker 1: over him. You cannot stop me from bringing up the children.
- 34:49Speaker 1: You are a strange from all of your kids. Have
- 34:51Speaker 1: you ever asked yourself, why what about our children that
- 34:54Speaker 1: you are hurting? I would have just talked right over
- 34:56Speaker 1: him for those cameras, I don't care. And then like
- 34:59Speaker 1: at the end, Tiny when he's like, I want you
- 35:02Speaker 1: to think that this whole apology is for you, but
- 35:07Speaker 1: it's actually really about me, me and God. I know
- 35:14Speaker 1: it's all about you. Cody Hello, He's like, well and God.
- 35:17Speaker 1: She's like, okay, maybe God's here too. But like the
- 35:20Speaker 1: fact that you can't see how that would be perceived
- 35:24Speaker 1: by the world much less Mary Brown, Like how narcissistic
- 35:27Speaker 1: and self absorbed things I know you want this to
- 35:29Speaker 1: be about you, but it's all about me, babe, about me.
- 35:32Speaker 1: I was just like, wow, dude, well, it's.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Contrary to everything he's been saying on this stupid apology tour,
- 35:37Speaker 2: because he's like, I'm trying to make amends and I'm
- 35:39Speaker 2: trying to be friendly with all of them because i
- 35:42Speaker 2: feel bad that I hurt them and I'm so ashamed
- 35:44Speaker 2: by my behavior. So now, okay, the truth is out.
- 35:47Speaker 2: It was for you to feel better about yourself, not
- 35:51Speaker 2: take any responsibility, and now if anybody says anything bad
- 35:56Speaker 2: about you, you're going to play the victim card and
- 35:58Speaker 2: be like, but I apologize though I tried to make amends.
- 36:01Speaker 2: It's them being toxic, it's them being petty bitches.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Well, and he also says something like, well, I hope
- 36:09Speaker 1: after this we can all put our swords down and
- 36:13Speaker 1: you know, be at least friends going forward. And I
- 36:16Speaker 1: was wondering, like, is there an ulterior motive? Like yes,
- 36:20Speaker 1: he's saying God requires me to do this and to
- 36:23Speaker 1: apologize and to try and heal the situation. He's trying
- 36:26Speaker 1: to present it as some sort of spiritual duty. We
- 36:30Speaker 1: have our suspicions that he's probably just creating content. But
- 36:33Speaker 1: I'm also wondering, and I think we talked about it
- 36:34Speaker 1: either last week or the week before, like is there
- 36:37Speaker 1: another motive around wanting to ensure that he can continue
- 36:41Speaker 1: with the show because if they all refuse to film
- 36:44Speaker 1: with him, if they refuse to include him, like maybe
- 36:47Speaker 1: he's a little bit worried that the show falls apart
- 36:51Speaker 1: if he doesn't have some kind of a relationship or
- 36:54Speaker 1: a connection with his with his og wives.
- 36:57Speaker 2: I could see that. I mean, I could see before
- 37:00Speaker 2: this season aired, producers sitting down with Cody and Robin
- 37:04Speaker 2: being like, look, this is the public perception of you,
- 37:06Speaker 2: and if you want to have any chance of staying
- 37:09Speaker 2: on the show or any chance of creating content with
- 37:11Speaker 2: these women, you need to go on a redemption arc
- 37:14Speaker 2: and you need to at least pretend like you're trying
- 37:18Speaker 2: to make amends. And Cody, of course, being the ultimate grifter,
- 37:21Speaker 2: is like, Okay, I'll do whatever I can so that
- 37:23Speaker 2: way I can keep my big mansion and keep my
- 37:25Speaker 2: bitch wife Robin happy. Like I could see a world
- 37:29Speaker 2: like that. I could also see him just doing this
- 37:31Speaker 2: purely for his ego and trying to rehab his image
- 37:34Speaker 2: because he is so concerned about how people perceive him.
- 37:38Speaker 2: But it's like, if you really, I don't know, if
- 37:42Speaker 2: you were really concerned about it, then why wouldn't you
- 37:44Speaker 2: just do the real work and actually be sincere in
- 37:47Speaker 2: these apologies and actually be willing to talk about your children,
- 37:51Speaker 2: Like the fact that you're just.
- 37:52Speaker 1: Saying to listen, Yeah, it doesn't cost you anything to
- 37:55Speaker 1: shut the fuck up right and let the injured person
- 37:58Speaker 1: off gas and expel rest themselves in a safe way,
- 38:02Speaker 1: like you kept saying last week, I'm going to be
- 38:04Speaker 1: able to hold space or we're just going to hold
- 38:05Speaker 1: space for whatever they need to do to process through
- 38:08Speaker 1: losing me, right, the biggest wound of their lives, Like
- 38:11Speaker 1: you couldn't just shut up and let Mary speak and
- 38:14Speaker 1: let her go through her own process, whatever that may
- 38:16Speaker 1: look like, because you are an infant, you are a child,
- 38:20Speaker 1: you are immature, You're insecure, You're so painfully insecure.
- 38:24Speaker 2: You can't have.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Any of this criticism expressed out loud because then other
- 38:30Speaker 1: people are going to know. We already know, but then
- 38:32Speaker 1: other people are going to know. And how is that
- 38:34Speaker 1: going to make me look? Like? He just can't do it.
- 38:37Speaker 2: He can't deal with it. He really can't. And I
- 38:40Speaker 2: think that when he was filming this, like I can
- 38:42Speaker 2: tell in his interstitials, I think he thought he did some.
- 38:47Speaker 2: I think he thought, oh my god, people are totally
- 38:49Speaker 2: gonna buy this because Mary was so rude to me,
- 38:51Speaker 2: and like, I came in with good faith and I
- 38:53Speaker 2: was really trying my hardest to be benevolent and apologize. Like,
- 38:57Speaker 2: I really think he thought he did something. And so
- 39:00Speaker 2: now that the season's airing, I'm wondering if he's reading
- 39:02Speaker 2: all the comments and watching the recaps and stuff and realizing, like, oh,
- 39:07Speaker 2: he couldn't pull the wool over anyone's eyes.
- 39:10Speaker 1: Well maybe Janelle's maybe maybe, I don't know.
- 39:14Speaker 2: Her fucking apology now just pisses me off a bit more.
- 39:17Speaker 2: All of this pisses me off.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Well, Like, what's the feedback like online? I haven't looked
- 39:20Speaker 1: on Reddit or on socials at all. Are people talking
- 39:24Speaker 1: about Mary and his conversation?
- 39:27Speaker 2: Oh yeah, they're loving Mary? Okay, Yeah, they're totally on
- 39:29Speaker 2: Mary's side and being like yes, queen, because yes, queen.
- 39:33Speaker 1: Yeah, but she didn't really say the things that she
- 39:36Speaker 1: truly wanted to say. I think she's so very much
- 39:39Speaker 1: wanted to defend her friends more than she was able to.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Even though you know, when Cody says something like, well,
- 39:45Speaker 1: Jen does not know me. She spent her time with you,
- 39:48Speaker 1: Mary's like she knows you.
- 39:49Speaker 2: She knows you.
- 39:50Speaker 1: She was around the fam in Vegas, and she was enough,
- 39:52Speaker 1: she was around you enough to clock exactly who it
- 39:55Speaker 1: is that you are. But like just there wasn't enough
- 39:58Speaker 1: space for her to finish her which was such a
- 40:02Speaker 1: regrettable thing because I really wanted to hear from her.
- 40:05Speaker 1: But you know, it is what it is. I'm sure
- 40:08Speaker 1: she's glad to just be like, Okay, go pee. I mean,
- 40:10Speaker 1: I don't get me out of here. I don't want
- 40:12Speaker 1: to spend one more second with this odious little leprechaun
- 40:15Speaker 1: of a man's demonic individual.
- 40:18Speaker 2: Him running away to go pee was so funny to me.
- 40:21Speaker 2: I mean, just like so symbolic. I know he had
- 40:23Speaker 2: a pee, but just him like running away from the conversation,
- 40:27Speaker 2: just in and of itself, was just perfect to me
- 40:29Speaker 2: because I think that's what he's doing with all of it.
- 40:31Speaker 2: It's like here, I'm gonna say I'm sorry, and then
- 40:34Speaker 2: I'm gonna walk away. I'm gonna go fuck off to
- 40:36Speaker 2: my McMansion, and I'm gonna live my life knowing that
- 40:39Speaker 2: I did the right thing and that you can accept
- 40:41Speaker 2: it if you want. But like I did the right thing,
- 40:43Speaker 2: I apologize.
- 40:44Speaker 1: I'm gonna sit down with my wife, who had the
- 40:46Speaker 1: nerve in her interstitial to say, well, like back in
- 40:49Speaker 1: the day, Cody never really told me about what was
- 40:52Speaker 1: going on with his wives. I mean, of course not.
- 40:55Speaker 1: But now it's just Cody and me, and so he'll
- 40:57Speaker 1: come home and he'll tell me about it. And so
- 40:59Speaker 1: because of that, I don't need to be there with
- 41:01Speaker 1: him to speak Cody and interpret. For Mary, I think
- 41:05Speaker 1: if she had, I think she was scared to show up.
- 41:07Speaker 1: I think Mary has just as much fire for Robin
- 41:11Speaker 1: and just as much to say to Robin as she
- 41:13Speaker 1: does to Cody.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Definitely that's why she's hiding out with her dolls, like
- 41:16Speaker 2: she doesn't want to confront any of them.
- 41:19Speaker 3: I mean, today, we're gonna buy you a new outfit
- 41:22Speaker 3: for a spring.
- 41:23Speaker 1: While Cody goes on as the Poljic tour.
- 41:25Speaker 2: She's probably got a Marry doll because.
- 41:29Speaker 1: Yeah, Christine Voodoo doll, phau Show.
- 41:33Speaker 2: Definitely David one too. Yeah, because I mean, really, Robin
- 41:38Speaker 2: doesn't have any friends. Have we ever seen on the
- 41:41Speaker 2: history of this show Robin with any friends? But like
- 41:44Speaker 2: did we see her.
- 41:45Speaker 1: With Yeah, she showed up in San Francisco, just like
- 41:48Speaker 1: they went by fabric or whatever for their celebration outfits.
- 41:53Speaker 1: But since then, no, we have heard about Kendra. Yeah,
- 41:56Speaker 1: collecting intel on Mary during the Catfish air and bringing
- 42:00Speaker 1: those bones back to Robin and Golodie. But like, no,
- 42:03Speaker 1: we don't see anybody. I mean, we see her sister
- 42:06Speaker 1: or her niece. Who's the nanny That doesn't count though
- 42:09Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 42:10Speaker 2: My point is like Robin doesn't have any friends besides
- 42:12Speaker 2: her dolls, so like she's probably crazy high on ambient
- 42:18Speaker 2: in her house playing with her dolls and stuff.
- 42:20Speaker 1: They don't even have like dogs or cats, No, they don't.
- 42:23Speaker 1: She'll kick them. She will kick out of the house.
- 42:25Speaker 1: And literally, I hate to laugh, but it's like she will.
- 42:28Speaker 1: She will. She can't get along with animals.
- 42:30Speaker 2: She can't get along with anybody, and you.
- 42:32Speaker 1: Know, animals can suss out a poisonous demon.
- 42:34Speaker 2: They can't.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Why she can't be around them for real?
- 42:39Speaker 2: Though, But yeah, like to your point, I don't think
- 42:42Speaker 2: Robin will ever sit down with Mary and deal with
- 42:45Speaker 2: an apology or try to make amends or anything like that.
- 42:48Speaker 2: Even if, like the producers were pushing for maybe she would.
- 42:51Speaker 2: If the producers like, you have to do it or.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Else you're not paid, that's the only way.
- 42:56Speaker 2: Yeah, then she might. But like it won't be good
- 42:59Speaker 2: because I don't think Mary is going to be very nice.
- 43:02Speaker 1: No, And I don't think Robin has the oral ability
- 43:07Speaker 1: to defend herself. She's not smart enough in the moment,
- 43:10Speaker 1: especially when she's a lying ho and she knows it
- 43:12Speaker 1: when her lies are being called out. She would not
- 43:14Speaker 1: have the ability to defend herself, which is why we
- 43:16Speaker 1: should really see it, I know, but we never will.
- 43:20Speaker 1: We can't even get them into one room for the
- 43:23Speaker 1: town nothings, which is just so fucking aggravating.
- 43:26Speaker 2: But I digress, because we're going to come up to
- 43:29Speaker 2: that soon. Okay, Then we get to the preview for
- 43:32Speaker 2: next week.
- 43:33Speaker 1: Was that it was there anything else juicy in their conversation.
- 43:35Speaker 2: I'm trying to think there was like a lot that
- 43:37Speaker 2: was said, but it was a lot of them cutting
- 43:39Speaker 2: each other off.
- 43:40Speaker 1: Right, I mean, and getting him to deign to admit
- 43:45Speaker 1: to the fact that he shared in the toxicity was
- 43:47Speaker 1: really tough.
- 43:48Speaker 2: Oh yeah, where he had to think about it because
- 43:50Speaker 2: she's like, are you going to apologize for being toxic
- 43:52Speaker 2: to me?
- 43:53Speaker 1: To me directly? And he's like, Mary, I apologize for
- 43:58Speaker 1: being toxic to you. Yes, But it was like pulling teeth.
- 44:01Speaker 1: Just the whole thing was awful. I mean I took
- 44:04Speaker 1: a lot of notes on this one, because every single
- 44:06Speaker 1: thing that was said I thought was important and that
- 44:09Speaker 1: I wanted to remember, But like then, I didn't remember
- 44:11Speaker 1: any of it. I just remembered what an awful person
- 44:14Speaker 1: he is and feeling bad for Mary, but also like, yeah,
- 44:19Speaker 1: feeling proud of Mary at the same time, because you know,
- 44:22Speaker 1: she talks a lot about worthying up, and we've lamented
- 44:25Speaker 1: the fact that we haven't really seen her do a
- 44:27Speaker 1: lot of that worthying up. But in this episode, hud Day,
- 44:30Speaker 1: I think she worthied up. She showed up strong as fuck,
- 44:33Speaker 1: she left strong as fucks. She said what she could say. Yep,
- 44:36Speaker 1: And I loved it. I did love that.
- 44:38Speaker 2: I loved how she brought up boundaries with him too,
- 44:40Speaker 2: of being like I'm not coming here to fight, like
- 44:42Speaker 2: I'm literally just establishing hard boundaries because of how fucked
- 44:45Speaker 2: up our relationship has been, and how fucked up you
- 44:48Speaker 2: have treated me so like I'm just having boundaries and
- 44:51Speaker 2: you don't have to like it, and that's fine, but
- 44:54Speaker 2: I'm not here to argue and like, for me, this
- 44:57Speaker 2: whole conversation, I was thinking about how the marriage must
- 45:00Speaker 2: have been, because I feel like anytime Mary brought up
- 45:04Speaker 2: any issue, it turned into something like this, where it
- 45:09Speaker 2: was just a tit for tat. Cody could not sit
- 45:12Speaker 2: in the weight of anything, He could not deal with
- 45:14Speaker 2: Mary's problems or needs, and it just became a fight
- 45:18Speaker 2: because Mary would try to express like, hey, I don't
- 45:22Speaker 2: like when you do that, and then Cody would be like,
- 45:24Speaker 2: but it's your fault, and it was just a back
- 45:26Speaker 2: and forth.
- 45:27Speaker 1: I don't think Mary was a victim back then. I
- 45:30Speaker 1: think she sounds based on what we've read and what
- 45:34Speaker 1: kids have said, what wives have said, it sounds like
- 45:37Speaker 1: Mary was somewhat unregulated in terms of her emotions and
- 45:40Speaker 1: her ability to not like, fly off the handle and
- 45:42Speaker 1: take it out on other people. I can see her
- 45:44Speaker 1: absolutely dominating Cody in that way, because before Cody crystallized
- 45:49Speaker 1: into the demon that we see today, he seemed like
- 45:52Speaker 1: a fun, loving sort of, you know, wounded by his father,
- 45:55Speaker 1: but like looking for love and to make a family.
- 45:58Speaker 1: I think Mary was probably probably hard on him, and
- 46:02Speaker 1: so I think some of what we might be seeing
- 46:05Speaker 1: to just be so gracious to him, which he does
- 46:07Speaker 1: not deserve, could be a bit of a trauma response,
- 46:10Speaker 1: Like he's showing up. He's already triggered because she's coming
- 46:13Speaker 1: in with this somewhat hard energy, which is deserved, but
- 46:16Speaker 1: like it's taking him back to a time when maybe
- 46:19Speaker 1: she wasn't so good to him.
- 46:21Speaker 2: I could see that, But I could also see two
- 46:23Speaker 2: things being true at once. Like I could see Mary
- 46:25Speaker 2: being a bit of a hard ass all their lives.
- 46:27Speaker 2: I could see her being a total bitch. But I
- 46:29Speaker 2: could also see Cody being from the Jump a bad husband. Yes,
- 46:33Speaker 2: because if we're to believe like everything in Christine's book,
- 46:36Speaker 2: like he was a bad husband for her from the Jump.
- 46:39Speaker 1: And for Janelle. He apologized for it when they met
- 46:42Speaker 1: in Charlotte, and he's like, you know, I should have
- 46:44Speaker 1: stuck up for you. I just kind of left you
- 46:46Speaker 1: hanging and I should have been there.
- 46:48Speaker 2: And with Mary, I feel like from the get go
- 46:51Speaker 2: he wasn't really thinking about how she felt about things,
- 46:54Speaker 2: and so I feel like it could have created, well
- 46:58Speaker 2: not created, I feel like it could have as escalated
- 47:00Speaker 2: Mary's resentment and Mary's instability and her emotional like chaos
- 47:06Speaker 2: in the family. I'm not saying that that was the
- 47:08Speaker 2: sole cause, because I think Mary has some baggage from
- 47:13Speaker 2: her luggage down the river, down the river, from her
- 47:16Speaker 2: family and everything. I'm sure she came in with heart energy,
- 47:20Speaker 2: but like Cody, I don't think ever was compassionate about
- 47:24Speaker 2: that or like trying to work through that with her.
- 47:27Speaker 2: So I think that was my whole point with just
- 47:29Speaker 2: watching their conversation, like manly, this was probably how every single,
- 47:34Speaker 2: every single conversation that they had was.
- 47:37Speaker 1: What sounds like they fought a lot, according to Christine
- 47:40Speaker 1: in the basement.
- 47:41Speaker 2: I don't know, fuck up a little bit too, which
- 47:44Speaker 2: is kind of interesting. Why because Christine being like I
- 47:47Speaker 2: heard all the other noises and I'm like, well, how often.
- 47:50Speaker 1: Yeah, give us some details because we know what was
- 47:53Speaker 1: happening in your bedroom. I know, God bless you. You
- 47:56Speaker 1: had to wear them Mormon, the Holy Mormon underwear, and
- 47:59Speaker 1: when you didn't wear the Holy Moment Mormon underwear, which
- 48:02Speaker 1: Cody insisted that you wear you had. You wore lingerie
- 48:05Speaker 1: what she calls lingerie in her book, which I just
- 48:07Speaker 1: have to imagine is not like Victoria's Secret. No, it's
- 48:11Speaker 1: like a night you little It's probably a full on nightgown, yeah,
- 48:15Speaker 1: Puritan style. And she had to wear that to have
- 48:18Speaker 1: sex with him because he never really wanted to have
- 48:20Speaker 1: sex with her.
- 48:21Speaker 2: Because he was disgusted by her.
- 48:23Speaker 1: So he was a terrible husband from the very beginning.
- 48:25Speaker 1: But he seemed like a good dad. I don't know,
- 48:27Speaker 1: there's just glimpses of a good Cody from his youth.
- 48:30Speaker 1: We don't see any of that anymore, certainly not after
- 48:34Speaker 1: watching this episode.
- 48:35Speaker 3: Not.
- 48:35Speaker 2: It was terrible, so awful, and it's like really pathetic
- 48:39Speaker 2: to watch him try and do this stuff, Like you're
- 48:41Speaker 2: such a pathetic excuse for a man. You are so
- 48:45Speaker 2: old at this point, like.
- 48:46Speaker 1: You're almost sixty years old, Cody.
- 48:48Speaker 2: Why wouldn't you let some of this anger go? It's
- 48:50Speaker 2: just going to crystallize in your body and fall out
- 48:53Speaker 2: through your hair, and you're just as it is exhibited.
- 48:56Speaker 2: Did you see the sun reflect us that? Yes?
- 49:00Speaker 1: Only did I see it? I paused, I got up
- 49:03Speaker 1: from my sofa and I walked to my big television
- 49:06Speaker 1: and I inspected it very closely, and I'm like, Cody,
- 49:09Speaker 1: you're losing all your hair, Honey, it's so bad. David.
- 49:12Speaker 1: What are we doing? David? You dumb, little, insecure, self absorbed, narcissistic,
- 49:20Speaker 1: awful father, awful person. And he keeps using the word benevolence,
- 49:24Speaker 1: and you're to be benevolent. I think what you mean
- 49:27Speaker 1: to be saying is you're here to be humble like
- 49:29Speaker 1: and to just put yourself out there and get them
- 49:32Speaker 1: to see a different side of you. Benevolence to me
- 49:35Speaker 1: implies like you're coming from a position on high. I'm
- 49:39Speaker 1: a benevolent monarch. I'm a benevolent king being good to
- 49:44Speaker 1: the little people. Yeah, right, So to that end, maybe
- 49:48Speaker 1: he means benevolent because I just think he sees himself
- 49:51Speaker 1: that way. But like, would it kill you to just
- 49:53Speaker 1: shut up and be humble?
- 49:54Speaker 2: I know, like would it kills you to actually let
- 49:56Speaker 2: shit go? You can't let anything go because he's pissed
- 49:59Speaker 2: off still.
- 50:00Speaker 1: Even if you don't agree, like you could have somebody
- 50:02Speaker 1: say what they feel and their perception of it.
- 50:04Speaker 2: Oh.
- 50:05Speaker 1: That was one thing that Mary said that I thought
- 50:07Speaker 1: was so great. She's like, even though we shared the
- 50:09Speaker 1: same experience, we did not have the same experience, right, Like,
- 50:13Speaker 1: we were both there at the same time, but my
- 50:15Speaker 1: experience was vastly different than yours. Yeah, and it takes
- 50:19Speaker 1: a certain kind of emotional maturity to sit there and
- 50:22Speaker 1: let somebody explain that experience from their perspective without needing
- 50:26Speaker 1: to correct them according to your experience exactly. She called that,
- 50:31Speaker 1: And I love that.
- 50:32Speaker 2: I did love that too, because that Cody wants to
- 50:35Speaker 2: be right, like in all of these apologies, like he's
- 50:39Speaker 2: saying he's coming at it from a humble, benevolent place
- 50:42Speaker 2: or whatever, but it really isn't. He thinks that his
- 50:46Speaker 2: perception of all of it was one hundred percent right.
- 50:50Speaker 2: The only reason why he's apologizing for things like well,
- 50:53Speaker 2: I'm sorry I said I didn't love you is because
- 50:55Speaker 2: Robin gave him the script and said, you need to
- 50:58Speaker 2: apologize for these things because people hate it, and otherwise
- 51:02Speaker 2: it's a lie because you did love them. So he's
- 51:04Speaker 2: only coming at it from this performative aspect. And you're right, like,
- 51:09Speaker 2: he isn't being humble because if I'm sitting if I'm
- 51:13Speaker 2: Cody Brown, and I want to be. I want to
- 51:16Speaker 2: make amends for things. I'm gonna go and I'm gonna apologize,
- 51:20Speaker 2: and I will shut the fuck up and I will
- 51:22Speaker 2: let them say whatever they want to say. I will cry.
- 51:25Speaker 1: I don't need to agree with it.
- 51:26Speaker 2: I don't need to agree, but I'm going to let
- 51:29Speaker 2: it go. Because if you are at this big age,
- 51:32Speaker 2: like if you're this fucking old and you're acting like.
- 51:35Speaker 1: This, yeah, he's never going to change.
- 51:37Speaker 2: You're never going to change at all. It's so sad.
- 51:40Speaker 2: And then you want to say talking about the kids
- 51:42Speaker 2: is for boten. I'm like, oh my god, I can't
- 51:46Speaker 2: believe he had the balls to say that. And then
- 51:48Speaker 2: he said, I'm working on my relationship with my kids.
- 51:51Speaker 2: And then you have Mary being like, m I ain't
- 51:52Speaker 2: seeing it though.
- 51:55Speaker 1: Yeah, he still was so controlling and like he is
- 51:59Speaker 1: the one that's dictating the way the conversation happens and
- 52:03Speaker 1: what is said. And this is how we know. And
- 52:05Speaker 1: this is how Mary saw very quickly that he's not sincere,
- 52:08Speaker 1: that this really is about him. And she says something
- 52:10Speaker 1: in er interestitial like, I will give him the space
- 52:13Speaker 1: and the time to say whatever he needs to say.
- 52:15Speaker 1: I'm fine with that. This is about him, it's not
- 52:17Speaker 1: about me. But I'm just like Mary, But why, I know,
- 52:20Speaker 1: why would you be fine with that? Why would we
- 52:21Speaker 1: need to entertain this little person and his tangents and
- 52:24Speaker 1: his rage and his perspective of things. Why wouldn't you
- 52:28Speaker 1: talk over him? Why wouldn't you get up and leave?
- 52:30Speaker 1: Which is what I think Jen was advocating for last
- 52:33Speaker 1: week when they all sat down together, like why are
- 52:35Speaker 1: you going there right? Why do you need to sit there?
- 52:37Speaker 1: Why so he can vomit onto you all of his
- 52:40Speaker 1: ideas and his apologies that mean absolutely nothing? Like why
- 52:44Speaker 1: do you need that for yourself? Why do you need
- 52:46Speaker 1: to give that to him? Mary?
- 52:47Speaker 2: I mean really, the real boss move for Mary would
- 52:50Speaker 2: have been I'm not gonna go. Yeah, I don't need
- 52:53Speaker 2: to hear anything that you have to say. Sorry, But
- 52:55Speaker 2: maybe you're right, like you had said at the beginning
- 52:57Speaker 2: of this subisode, maybe she did sign some kind of
- 52:59Speaker 2: NDA or contract or something that like obligated her to
- 53:02Speaker 2: go and sit and listen to this bullshit, because otherwise,
- 53:06Speaker 2: why would you Like if Cody Brown was messaging me
- 53:09Speaker 2: and I was his ex or something and was like,
- 53:10Speaker 2: I want to apologize I'd be like, fuck off. I
- 53:13Speaker 2: had an ex girlfriend do that for many years after
- 53:16Speaker 2: we broke up. She kept trying to contact me and
- 53:18Speaker 2: kept trying to call me and message me and apologize
- 53:21Speaker 2: for bullshit that was so many years in the past,
- 53:25Speaker 2: and every time I'd be like, I don't want to
- 53:27Speaker 2: listen to you.
- 53:28Speaker 1: Sorry, bye. Well, you know that happened to me recently
- 53:31Speaker 1: as well. I had an ex from a long time
- 53:33Speaker 1: ago call my brother.
- 53:37Speaker 2: You want to go uncensored?
- 53:38Speaker 1: Yeah, let's go uncensored. So back from our uncensored where
- 53:43Speaker 1: were we? That was so long conversation about a recent
- 53:46Speaker 1: phone call that I say.
- 53:48Speaker 2: It was crazy. You guys want to listen to uncensored stuff,
- 53:50Speaker 2: you gotta get a Patreon.
- 53:51Speaker 1: You gotta go to Patreon. Anyway, where were we?
- 53:53Speaker 2: And that was pretty much it Like the end of
- 53:55Speaker 2: Mary's conversation with Cody, And like, you wish she would
- 53:58Speaker 2: say something different or act a little bit different with Cody,
- 54:02Speaker 2: but she did handle herself pretty well given the circumstances,
- 54:05Speaker 2: and given the fact that Cody is a malignant, demonic, narcissist.
- 54:09Speaker 1: Yeah, there's not enough ways to describe how awful he
- 54:12Speaker 1: is and how immature and tantrum me, toddlery, pamper boy.
- 54:18Speaker 1: Awful person, horrible. I just detest him.
- 54:20Speaker 2: I hate him.
- 54:21Speaker 1: So we started this podcast like literally screaming about how
- 54:24Speaker 1: much we hated Cody Brown and we were team too much. Yeah,
- 54:28Speaker 1: definitely going a little crazy, a little ham on the internet.
- 54:32Speaker 1: But I stand by it. Me too, just an awful
- 54:34Speaker 1: person and I'm just like, we gotta be calling these
- 54:36Speaker 1: people out, No, I mean, really though, and curate your persona.
- 54:41Speaker 1: I mean, if you have any consciousness and intelligence in
- 54:44Speaker 1: that fucking ball ahead of yours, sit down and make
- 54:46Speaker 1: a game plan so you don't come off looking like
- 54:48Speaker 1: a complete gargoyle, no, straight up.
- 54:51Speaker 2: And it's like on our other shows that we cover,
- 54:53Speaker 2: like Welcome to Plasfall, for example, I feel like I
- 54:55Speaker 2: try to see the light in everyone, and I try
- 54:58Speaker 2: to try to have except for Olivia Plat.
- 55:01Speaker 1: But well I can see something you do a little, yes, you.
- 55:04Speaker 2: Tiny little shadow in there. But like with Kim Plav
- 55:08Speaker 2: for example, who's also a bit of a fucking narc
- 55:11Speaker 2: and also a drunk yeah, and also an alcoholic, it's
- 55:14Speaker 2: like I can try and have some compassion for her.
- 55:16Speaker 2: But with Cody Brown, it's so hard for me to
- 55:19Speaker 2: draw on anything, because I feel like he's been like
- 55:21Speaker 2: this his entire life, and I just struggle to have
- 55:27Speaker 2: sympathy for someone who just constantly lies and constantly what's
- 55:33Speaker 2: the word do you use last week? Blovate?
- 55:35Speaker 1: Can I use that oviate?
- 55:36Speaker 2: Oviate?
- 55:37Speaker 1: Yes, just loves to hear himself speak.
- 55:39Speaker 2: Yes, it's like I can't. I can't have compassion for somebody.
- 55:42Speaker 1: And then Robin, with her big old Eastern Island head,
- 55:45Speaker 1: just come just through her fucking interstitials on the couch
- 55:48Speaker 1: like we don't need your commentary, like we didn't need
- 55:50Speaker 1: you at all in this entire episode. We don't need
- 55:53Speaker 1: you ever. I don't want to see you anymore with
- 55:55Speaker 1: your dour face.
- 55:56Speaker 2: Serious, unless you want to go on an apology tool
- 56:00Speaker 2: with all.
- 56:00Speaker 1: These women, Well, I have to apologize for exactly we.
- 56:04Speaker 2: Came in cap in hand. And speaking of the preview,
- 56:07Speaker 2: we get to that we have Cody going on his
- 56:10Speaker 2: final stop of the apology tour and apologizing to Robin,
- 56:13Speaker 2: saving the bits.
- 56:14Speaker 3: For last my queen, My queen, I get.
- 56:18Speaker 2: He says that he hasn't been fair to her or something,
- 56:22Speaker 2: and then Robin says his apologies with the og wives
- 56:27Speaker 2: have given him peace, and so now he's coming back
- 56:29Speaker 2: to the beautiful husband that I know him to be
- 56:32Speaker 2: sure we can live our best life in our McMansion
- 56:35Speaker 2: next to a mine. We have Janelle in the preview,
- 56:41Speaker 2: also saying she doesn't regret any of the last thirty
- 56:44Speaker 2: years because it brought her all of these children and
- 56:47Speaker 2: this family and everything, which I think is great. They
- 56:49Speaker 2: shouldn't regret any of this time, screat because it all
- 56:52Speaker 2: everything happens for a reason. Then we have Janelle meeting
- 56:56Speaker 2: up with Mary. I'm assuming after like the spiritual release
- 57:00Speaker 2: or something, because we have this little scene in the
- 57:03Speaker 2: preview of Janelle asking Mary if she's dated and Mary says, yeah,
- 57:06Speaker 2: she's done some dating around. And then we have her
- 57:10Speaker 2: in the river with Ron or whatever.
- 57:13Speaker 1: Snoozefest. God, what a poet.
- 57:17Speaker 2: She talks about their connection and I guess they've been
- 57:20Speaker 2: dating or whatever, and she's hopeful about it. I'm like,
- 57:23Speaker 2: are you guys kissing? Are y'all fucking.
- 57:26Speaker 1: It's gonna be a lavender marriage.
- 57:30Speaker 3: Ron's gay.
- 57:31Speaker 1: I wouldn't be surprised.
- 57:32Speaker 2: I mean I wouldn't either. And then we also have
- 57:35Speaker 2: Cody and Robin going on their ATVs and he crashes
- 57:39Speaker 2: and I love it.
- 57:40Speaker 1: I'm sorry, we can't. We can't. We can't do that.
- 57:44Speaker 1: We cannot celebrate anybody's down home. I know it's done
- 57:47Speaker 1: a grave literally, but like we can't like celebrate somebody's
- 57:49Speaker 1: bad fortune.
- 57:50Speaker 2: But it's a demon.
- 57:52Speaker 1: Also, it's just like how karma works. And sometimes karma
- 57:56Speaker 1: is filmed for television, so.
- 57:58Speaker 2: We're gonna have a karma, Like we're gonna have bad
- 58:00Speaker 2: karma because we're wishing.
- 58:02Speaker 1: That's how karma for him works and we just happened
- 58:05Speaker 1: to see it. Sometimes karma lets us watch somebody getting
- 58:08Speaker 1: their karma. But I doubt he's hurt, No doubt anything's
- 58:12Speaker 1: gonna come of that.
- 58:13Speaker 2: It's gonna be like Robin when she crashed off.
- 58:17Speaker 1: That was so great too. Sorry, oh we can't great dance.
- 58:20Speaker 1: We can't see but that was that you're laughingnot.
- 58:23Speaker 2: She wasn't you're laughing at her.
- 58:25Speaker 1: It was so was so great that look, now I'm
- 58:29Speaker 1: gonna get hurt. This is something called bachi in Japanese lore,
- 58:33Speaker 1: like when you say stuff, sometimes you connect yourself to
- 58:37Speaker 1: the sentiment of that and then it happens to fucking
- 58:39Speaker 1: use like.
- 58:39Speaker 2: I don't want to be I don't want that, but
- 58:41Speaker 2: Robin and Cody are literal demons.
- 58:43Speaker 1: Though, you're right, So you're right. It's fine, okay, okay,
- 58:51Speaker 1: so noted. Anyway, that's it. Was there anything else that
- 58:55Speaker 1: we need to say to these beautiful raccoons before we
- 58:58Speaker 1: get up on out of here and before New Year's?
- 59:03Speaker 2: Happy New Year's.
- 59:04Speaker 1: You're watching this on Patreon because you get it early,
- 59:08Speaker 1: But is there anything else that we need to say?
- 59:09Speaker 2: Well, if you love our podcast, please go to your
- 59:11Speaker 2: favorite podcast platform and leave us. A going five star
- 59:14Speaker 2: review really helps screw the pod so more people can
- 59:16Speaker 2: join us in the dumpster.
- 59:17Speaker 3: And we'll see y'all next year.
- 59:19Speaker 1: Oh my god, We'll be back next week to continue
- 59:22Speaker 1: our sister next year, to continue our sister wife's journey.
- 59:26Speaker 1: I am thinking this is the last episode of the season.
- 59:29Speaker 2: Before the tell Nothing, before the four part.
- 59:32Speaker 1: Tell Nothings that nobody asks for with Sokranya. Until then,
- 59:37Speaker 1: please do not forget that we have nothing but love
- 59:39Speaker 1: for you and pease a night
