- 0:02- Well, Olivia, I haven't seen you in person
- 0:10in like two months and that's unacceptable.
- 0:12- I know.
- 0:13- So I need some updates about like what you're reading,
- 0:16what you're watching, what you're, what you're doing.
- 0:20I mean, I know you're, I follow you on good reads.
- 0:23I know you're on book number like 75 or some stupid shit.
- 0:27(laughing)
- 0:28- Actually, that's a really good point.
- 0:29What book am I on now?
- 0:31I think I, so last year I had set a goal of 36
- 0:35and I did not hit it, so I lowered it to 30,
- 0:39but I am gonna surpass that in like a week
- 0:44from now on. - That's insane.
- 0:45- Honestly, I am, let's see what book number am I on.
- 0:50Again, I live alone, I just moved to New City,
- 0:55so I also don't have a partner out here.
- 0:58So I very much just like have time to listen and read books.
- 1:03- I love it.
- 1:04- In fact, last night.
- 1:06I like picked up this like stupid little book
- 1:09from Target, I was like, oh, that's gonna be like an easy one.
- 1:12It's like a hockey romance or whatever.
- 1:15I was like, oh, look at this before I go to bed
- 1:18and I laid down last night at 8 p.m.
- 1:21to go to sleep and I did-
- 1:22- I'm almost done with it.
- 1:25I did not go to bed until 12, 30 last night
- 1:29because I couldn't put it down.
- 1:31So again, I am very much like a hyper-fixation person,
- 1:34but I am on book 25.
- 1:37- Jesus Christ, dude.
- 1:40- Okay, let's read 25 books into the first week of April.
- 1:44So we are,
- 1:45the book that I was reading though was really good,
- 1:49was a spiral.
- 1:51I also have been on a really big Abbey Yemenis kick.
- 1:56A book that just came out,
- 1:59it was her next book kind of,
- 2:02she doesn't do series,
- 2:03but she does all in the same universe.
- 2:06And so I read just for the summer
- 2:09and then say you'll remember me,
- 2:12just came out like a week ago.
- 2:14- So some romantic.
- 2:16- Yes, I've been on a contemporary romance kick.
- 2:19I actually, after on X Storm and finishing that,
- 2:23I read Quicksilver right after that.
- 2:26And then I was like, okay, it's getting to predictable.
- 2:31I need to like go into- - Yeah.
- 2:33Break it up a little bit.
- 2:34- Yeah, and I love romance, you know,
- 2:36we've got to believe in love still.
- 2:38- Yeah, of course.
- 2:39(laughing)
- 2:40- As a single person.
- 2:41So I was like, okay, I'm gonna go into contemporary romance.
- 2:44And I've been on a giant Emily Henry kick,
- 2:47Ashley Poston, Abby and Liz.
- 2:50- You and Jessica were talking about the other day.
- 2:52- Emily and Jerry.
- 2:53- Okay, I thought that was it.
- 2:55- Yes, and Emily Henry is a great vacation read person.
- 3:00- Yeah.
- 3:02- She has quite a few books and great pick up,
- 3:05like great one book reads.
- 3:08She just sold her first book to,
- 3:11or one of her first books to Netflix.
- 3:14- Oh, she, oh.
- 3:14- And I think it comes out in a few months.
- 3:16It's called Beatread.
- 3:17It's really, really good.
- 3:18- Beatread. - Beatread.
- 3:20- Yeah, Beatread.
- 3:21It has that guy who plays Coriolena Snow
- 3:24in song Birds and Snakes,
- 3:26which I still haven't read or seen.
- 3:29- Oh my god, I didn't read that immediately
- 3:31after "Sunday's on the Reaping."
- 3:33So, I'm so close.
- 3:35- I'm so close to being Dima sunrise on the Reaping.
- 3:38So, what we're gonna talk about that in a future episode.
- 3:41- Yes, I just counted.
- 3:42I have read, let me see here this year so far.
- 3:46I finished one, two, three, four, five, six books.
- 3:50So, look at you go.
- 3:51- Look at that.
- 3:52- And I'm gonna be on seven soon.
- 3:54So, not bad, not bad, Trinidad.
- 3:56Besides that, I'm just watching all the usual stuff.
- 4:01Andrew and I watch next level chef, solo leveling.
- 4:06I just watched a movie called Akira from 1988,
- 4:13which is one of the most famous anime movies of all time.
- 4:16And I can't believe I've never seen it.
- 4:17It's like, I know I've seen the artwork
- 4:20and definitely like gifts of it more.
- 4:23And it's like this cyberpunk action film.
- 4:27It reminds me a lot of stranger things,
- 4:31like kids with telekinetic powers and stuff.
- 4:34So, I definitely think that might be where they got
- 4:37some like stranger things and flowance from.
- 4:39So, gonna pop that.
- 4:41It was, it had that like violent quality
- 4:44that only like 80s and 90s cartoons can have.
- 4:47Do you know what I mean?
- 4:48- Yeah.
- 4:49- Where it's just the hits hit harder
- 4:50and you just, there was like body horror at one point
- 4:54and we were very engaged.
- 4:56- So, like that.
- 4:58- I've been reading a lot, but sometimes, you know,
- 5:00a girl has to go back to her roots and masturbate.
- 5:03- And listen, yes, totally, totally.
- 5:06Not to this though.
- 5:09So, Netflix dropped a true crime documentary
- 5:14called Gone Girls, The Long Island Serial Killer,
- 5:18which it's a three episode series.
- 5:22I don't know how familiar you are
- 5:24with The Long Island Serial Killer, just in general.
- 5:28He was, you know, uncought for like 15 years.
- 5:33I think that it's so interesting
- 5:37because there are, you know, active serial killers
- 5:40existing right now, right?
- 5:42But the way that, yeah, right.
- 5:45But we don't really talk about them,
- 5:47like in the same way that you would think about, you know,
- 5:50like a Ted Bundy and how much it was covered back then.
- 5:53And a lot of the time it is kind of,
- 5:55police don't want to stir up like a fear of like comedy
- 6:00and things like that.
- 6:01And so they try to like downplay it
- 6:03and not connect these things.
- 6:04But The Long Island Serial Killer, for like,
- 6:06as long as I can remember, was one of those, like,
- 6:09infamous serial killers in our time
- 6:12where nobody knew what it was.
- 6:14So he, I think it started in the early 2000s
- 6:20and he was just caught like two years ago.
- 6:23Oh shit.
- 6:23I'm gonna have to watch this.
- 6:25- And true.
- 6:25- It's really good.
- 6:27He, it was ignored for so long
- 6:30because he was going after sex workers.
- 6:33- I hate it.
- 6:34- Within like, me and video.
- 6:35- Yeah.
- 6:36- Which to decide, yeah.
- 6:37- Yeah, and they were discovered kind of
- 6:39in a fluent area.
- 6:40And then it wasn't until, you know,
- 6:42a non-sex worker was murdered that they did it.
- 6:46- Pretty like blonde hair.
- 6:46- But they started to take, yeah, right, exactly.
- 6:49And so it's really, really good.
- 6:51It goes over, it goes over kind of how,
- 6:54'cause some of these women got away.
- 6:56Some of these sex workers got away as well.
- 6:58And so that was like the start of the authorities about it.
- 7:02Yeah, oh that's fascinating.
- 7:03- Yeah, they do these interviews.
- 7:04So that was really, really good.
- 7:06I would definitely pump that if you are a true crime fan.
- 7:11- It's kind of mad.
- 7:12- Yeah, I might get it all over.
- 7:14- I've also been, I've also been on a big,
- 7:16if you have HBO Max, people investigate,
- 7:21has like individual episodes on like one case.
- 7:26And you know, not a big people magazine reader,
- 7:29but their true crime stuff is actually pretty good.
- 7:32- Interesting.
- 7:33And I do have HBO Max.
- 7:34I just haven't perused it in a minute.
- 7:37I need to get back on showtime
- 7:38so I can finally watch yellow jackets.
- 7:41And the decks are pretty cool.
- 7:43We need to start at the same time
- 7:46so we can talk about it.
- 7:47- Yeah, you also need to watch white load ass.
- 7:50- I know, I've gotten every spoiler for white load ass
- 7:53because there's so many memes and I just look it up
- 7:56'cause I wanted to know, do those two brothers ever do it?
- 8:00Like I just would Google it.
- 8:01Like, I know.
- 8:03I was like, I don't want to spoil it,
- 8:04but spoilers for white load ass in three, two, one.
- 8:07Handy.
- 8:08- Yes, my hand. - Handy.
- 8:10- Handy. - Hands in a brother handy,
- 8:11always great for cinema.
- 8:14- I mean, for cinema, yeah, I guess that's true.
- 8:17- Yeah, yeah, real HBO special.
- 8:20- Incessed.
- 8:21- Oh God, no.
- 8:23- So, yeah, well, good to catch up.
- 8:25I hope I see you soon.
- 8:27- Yes, miss you.
- 8:28- Thank you, love you.
- 8:30- Now you do me.
