- 0:03Speaker 1: This is a Bramble Jam podcast this week on your
- 0:13Speaker 1: Gabble Gabble. If you accuse your ex boyfriend of faking
- 0:16Speaker 1: being blind, does that make you the worst person or
- 0:20Speaker 1: the worst person? In Judge Matthes's courtroom, justice is blind.
- 0:24Speaker 2: And if you hire someone to do a job for
- 0:27Speaker 2: you they do a bad job, do you still have
- 0:29Speaker 2: to pay them for that bad job?
- 0:31Speaker 1: Judge Judy tells us real people, real cases. Thank Justice.
- 0:34Speaker 1: This is all right. Everybody sat down? Why do you
- 0:45Speaker 1: stand up? Sit down? Oh my goodness, I said, all right, yeah,
- 0:48Speaker 1: but that's what we you know. Sit down, everybody.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Come on, It's great to be back here in the
- 0:53Speaker 2: chambers of the gavel.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Chambers of the gavel. That's exactly right. Uh where are
- 0:59Speaker 1: you going again? Math maths? I love Mathews. This is
- 1:03Speaker 1: a case I found on the YouTube that was from
- 1:05Speaker 1: a decade ago and they have an update on Ah wow,
- 1:09Speaker 1: let me can I just can I get out of
- 1:10Speaker 1: the way, go go for it. Judy's bad and so
- 1:13Speaker 1: let's just Judy every time we get let's give her
- 1:16Speaker 1: another go, try to give her another. Judy is my homegirl.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Jeremy to Torres sold like hotket Jeremy de Torres is
- 1:23Speaker 2: suing Chad Smith for seven nine nine dollars that is,
- 1:28Speaker 2: for lost wages and a unlawful or unnecessary restraining order.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Chad Smith is counter suing for five thousand dollars for
- 1:37Speaker 2: vandalism and bad job done.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Bad job done. That's exactly right.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Jeremy says he worked for Chad Smith for over a
- 1:47Speaker 2: month doing different jobs from Chad Smith is contractor tour
- 1:53Speaker 2: and our guy Jeremy over there is, you know, doing
- 1:56Speaker 2: odd jobs here and there, and and he's a independent contractor.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Chad would pay you know, in cash. And and Judy
- 2:08Speaker 2: every time we watch Judy there is there is an
- 2:11Speaker 2: example of her pressing someone on details and then being
- 2:18Speaker 2: annoyed when they answer. So this and this happens for
- 2:22Speaker 2: far too long in this case. But she's like, how
- 2:25Speaker 2: did he pay you? And Jeremy says, sometimes in check,
- 2:29Speaker 2: sometimes in cash, independent contractors. So and then she goes
- 2:33Speaker 2: over to Chad and it's like, explain to me how
- 2:35Speaker 2: you're paying people. And he's like, well, check, sometimes cash.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Sometimes they're all independent contractors. Yeah, and she and then.
- 2:42Speaker 1: She says, do you take out taxes? And he says no,
- 2:46Speaker 1: he says I.
- 2:47Speaker 2: And she then gets annoyed and she's like, I know,
- 2:51Speaker 2: I know what toennight, And I is like, you're not
- 2:53Speaker 2: the first person to come in here and talk about
- 2:56Speaker 2: ten I and I and paying people in cash. And
- 2:58Speaker 2: I'm just like, yo, Judy, Judy, Jude, did you you
- 3:01Speaker 2: asked the question?
- 3:02Speaker 1: That's right. It's not like he was trying to hide anything.
- 3:05Speaker 1: He's like, yeah, ten ninety nine them in a be
- 3:07Speaker 1: a contract. Yeah, And she was just like, yeah, it's
- 3:10Speaker 1: she is the stuff she asked for. She's mad. Yes,
- 3:12Speaker 1: always don't get it.
- 3:13Speaker 2: I don't get it anyway, She's.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Not her homegirl.
- 3:16Speaker 2: So Jeremy claims that he did a job in August
- 3:22Speaker 2: over the course of three days, and he is owed
- 3:26Speaker 2: eight hundred and thirty dollars for those jobs.
- 3:30Speaker 1: D yes, so to ten a day, it's what six thirty?
- 3:35Speaker 2: Uh so maybe it was four days. It might have
- 3:38Speaker 2: been four days ecctually. She says two ten per day.
- 3:41Speaker 2: I'm just taking her work for it. He says three days.
- 3:43Speaker 2: She says two ten. So someone's wrong, Tomato. Yeah, that's
- 3:47Speaker 2: exactly right. That's interesting.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Uh.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Anyway, I'm just telling you what what what it has
- 3:52Speaker 2: been told he says, over the course of three days.
- 3:54Speaker 1: It's either six thirty or eight forty. If it's two
- 3:59Speaker 1: ten a day, well let's just find out what happened
- 4:02Speaker 1: to day. You put that, take that away. We just
- 4:05Speaker 1: find out what happens. Okay.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Anyway, She's like, hey, do you have like a log
- 4:12Speaker 2: or something that shows that you did the work? He says,
- 4:15Speaker 2: I got a notepad, but it's just shorthand showing the
- 4:19Speaker 2: stuff that I did. She's like, can I see it?
- 4:21Speaker 1: And she's like, this isn't helpful. She's like, what about
- 4:25Speaker 1: like when you get a job, Like, how do you
- 4:26Speaker 1: know you get a job?
- 4:27Speaker 2: And he says, I get an email, but it was
- 4:30Speaker 2: on a cell phone that he that Chad gave me,
- 4:33Speaker 2: and when he fired me, he came and he took
- 4:34Speaker 2: it back.
- 4:34Speaker 1: So I don't have any proof of nothing. Off to
- 4:38Speaker 1: a great start here, Chad says, yes he did. I
- 4:42Speaker 1: did hire him. He did not work three days, He
- 4:45Speaker 1: only worked one day. He did a bad job, so
- 4:47Speaker 1: I did not pay him.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Plus he calls me and leaves me a threatening voicemail
- 4:53Speaker 2: saying that if I don't send him his money, he's gonna.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Come find me.
- 4:57Speaker 2: He play He plays the voice Smeil. After Judy's got
- 5:04Speaker 2: a granddaughter comes in and helps her play them. In
- 5:07Speaker 2: the new Judy on Freevy, her granddaughter's next to her
- 5:10Speaker 2: to help with any tech needs, I believe best second figure.
- 5:15Speaker 2: So she plays the voicemail for her and Okay, so
- 5:21Speaker 2: he does say if if you.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Don't pay me, I'm going to come to your house.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Jeremy says that. Jeremy says, it's the chad. Okay, I
- 5:30Speaker 2: will say, and I probably should have just brought the audio.
- 5:33Speaker 2: It does sound like they're it is breaking up a
- 5:37Speaker 2: little bit and that stuff is missing. Judy does not
- 5:40Speaker 2: acknowledge that despite the fact that Jeremy is saying that.
- 5:44Speaker 1: He says that he said with the police that it
- 5:48Speaker 1: kind of yes, he says, I will he added the police,
- 5:51Speaker 1: and he.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Is saying that on the phone, I said I'm gonna
- 5:54Speaker 2: come with the police. And we do have a text
- 5:57Speaker 2: message showing that he did say that. Then in Texas
- 6:00Speaker 2: he said, Hey, if you don't pay me, I'm gonna
- 6:02Speaker 2: come to your house with the police. He says he
- 6:04Speaker 2: also said that in the voicemail. We don't hear that
- 6:06Speaker 2: in the voicemail for my money, It sounded like it
- 6:09Speaker 2: is possible that he did say that in it cut out.
- 6:11Speaker 2: We don't get into that. She says, this does sound
- 6:14Speaker 2: threatening to me. Jeremy says that the restraining order is bogus,
- 6:18Speaker 2: and he gives Judy a bunch of texts showing that
- 6:21Speaker 2: he was never threatening him, that he just wants the
- 6:23Speaker 2: money and he was trying to do it the right way.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Hey, I'm going to go through the police and blah
- 6:27Speaker 1: blah blah.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Judy says, okay, but I have the voicemail and it
- 6:29Speaker 2: does sound threatening. He says, okay, but also he claims
- 6:35Speaker 2: that I slashed his tires, which I did not.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Let's get to the slashing of the tires. The tires
- 6:43Speaker 1: on Chad's car. He comes out one day and they
- 6:46Speaker 1: are slash got them. So a couple of things happen here.
- 6:51Speaker 2: He filed a police or he had called the police,
- 6:54Speaker 2: the police came. They fly filed a police report upon
- 6:58Speaker 2: the initial voicemail call.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Then when he went in to file.
- 7:03Speaker 2: The restraining order after the tires slashed Chad, Chad goes in,
- 7:07Speaker 2: he says, hey, I have this police report, and now
- 7:09Speaker 2: also my tires have been slashed. In the thing, Hey,
- 7:18Speaker 2: don't come near me restraining order. In the restraining order,
- 7:22Speaker 2: it says that the reason for it.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Is flattened tires, And so he is saying that Jeremy
- 7:33Speaker 1: saying the words slashed proves that he did it because
- 7:39Speaker 1: no one else would know that they were slashed by
- 7:42Speaker 1: the restraining order saying flattened. Are you following here, yes,
- 7:46Speaker 1: So he's saying that that is proved proof. Jeremy says, well,
- 7:50Speaker 1: in my mind, flattened in a restraining order can only
- 7:54Speaker 1: mean one thing, which is slashed. So yeah, I'm just
- 7:58Speaker 1: reading in between the lines that Judy asks, Chad, do
- 8:02Speaker 1: you have receipts for the tires?
- 8:04Speaker 2: He says, I'm sorry? How much for the tires? He
- 8:06Speaker 2: says for fifty? She has for a receipt He says,
- 8:09Speaker 2: I paid cash. I did not get a receipt. She says,
- 8:12Speaker 2: you have to stop paying cash, and now she is
- 8:16Speaker 2: ready to rule just one more time to lay this
- 8:19Speaker 2: down for you. Jeremy is suing for seven nine and
- 8:22Speaker 2: ninety nine dollars eight hundred and thirty of that is
- 8:26Speaker 2: for three and or four days of lost wages, and
- 8:31Speaker 2: then he's just suing for the rest for Hey, restraining order.
- 8:34Speaker 1: You shouldn't have done that. I hurt my feelings. Basically, what.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Chad is suing for five thousand dollars. Part of that
- 8:42Speaker 2: is for the four point fifty for vandalism. The rest
- 8:45Speaker 2: is for the amount of money that he had to
- 8:48Speaker 2: spend to fix the job, the bad job that Jeremy's going.
- 8:54Speaker 1: I following, yes, but I feel like no one should
- 8:56Speaker 1: get anything here. Judy, I think, is gonna give him
- 8:59Speaker 1: the eight to thirty. What do you what is it?
- 9:01Speaker 1: She's gonna give them the eight thirty.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Judy gives him the two ten one day, one day
- 9:06Speaker 2: because Chad admits to him showing up one day and
- 9:11Speaker 2: not paying him. So, even if the job was bad,
- 9:14Speaker 2: you still have to pay for what you asked for.
- 9:16Speaker 1: I'm not I'm not gonna like it. If I thought
- 9:19Speaker 1: he had shown up all three or four days, he
- 9:21Speaker 1: says he did, But he said, Chad says, one day, yes, correct,
- 9:25Speaker 1: And that's where the two that's what that's what's confused,
- 9:28Speaker 1: he said, he said, But but this is where the
- 9:30Speaker 1: your point is valid, because he says, I worked for
- 9:34Speaker 1: three days and I'm owed eight thirty, and she comes
- 9:38Speaker 1: down with two ten for one day and all if
- 9:42Speaker 1: it was four days, she's just a rounding up now
- 9:46Speaker 1: because it's like two o seven and change two seven fifty.
- 9:50Speaker 1: But yeah, that's why anyway, Judy says, and if if
- 9:55Speaker 1: anybody cares about my opinion, I actually found Jeremy to
- 9:59Speaker 1: be quite trust worthy in this scenario. I uh, I
- 10:04Speaker 1: felt and this is just my opinion. I felt that
- 10:09Speaker 1: it is possible that he did a bad.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Job, but Chad really didn't like him, and I think
- 10:15Speaker 2: Chad framed him for.
- 10:16Speaker 1: All a whow, that's just my bold brain. I know,
- 10:19Speaker 1: I know, I'm sorry, Chadd. If you're listening to this,
- 10:21Speaker 1: don't sue me for defamation. Speaking of bold, let's go
- 10:24Speaker 1: over to Judge Mathes's courtroom, where an old Italian woman
- 10:27Speaker 1: is going to accuse someone of not having a medical
- 10:31Speaker 1: condition that they have. Oh, I like that. Hey, do
- 10:33Speaker 1: you want to go to break first? Sometimes we do that.
- 10:36Speaker 1: We do that all the time. He will be right back,
- 10:41Speaker 1: welcome back the break. We always take it into the gabble.
- 10:43Speaker 1: It's Judge Mathis. Yes, you told me a little bit
- 10:45Speaker 1: about it before the break. Christine Galuzo say hello to
- 10:49Speaker 1: your mother for me. Christine Galuzo is suing her ex
- 10:53Speaker 1: boyfriend for five thousand dollars for lying about being blind.
- 10:58Speaker 1: This is an actual hold on an actual phrase from
- 11:02Speaker 1: the narrator. Is this Gary Bavinzi and sists he's blind? Fantastic?
- 11:11Speaker 1: That is something that actually is said by the narrator
- 11:14Speaker 1: of Judge Math. She is suing her ex boyfriends for
- 11:18Speaker 1: five thousand dollars because he's lying about being lined. I
- 11:22Speaker 1: don't know how that number. It's the max. It's the
- 11:26Speaker 1: max now, but but but for what He's all what
- 11:30Speaker 1: happened to her? No, he's countersuing her for five thousand
- 11:33Speaker 1: dollars for unpaid bill's emotional distress. She actually has some
- 11:37Speaker 1: receipts for other things. Intro is this though lying about
- 11:41Speaker 1: being blind and the numbers aren't going to make sense.
- 11:43Speaker 1: I'm just letting you know that. I'm just saying I
- 11:46Speaker 1: can't sue you for li Like if you say, hey,
- 11:50Speaker 1: I have blue eyes and I find out that you don't,
- 11:52Speaker 1: I can't sue you for that. So a couple of
- 11:54Speaker 1: things union. First of all, like Christine has gotta be
- 11:57Speaker 1: like late fifties to late sixties, like Mom asked for
- 12:02Speaker 1: the manager haircut, right, And Gary has like a sports
- 12:08Speaker 1: coat on. He looks a little like John Taffer from
- 12:11Speaker 1: Bar Rescue if you knocked him down about eight inches,
- 12:14Speaker 1: and then has very dark sunglasses on in the courtroom.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Oh blazer dark because he's oh, because he's blind. I
- 12:22Speaker 1: thought that he wasn't. I was told he wasn't. She
- 12:24Speaker 1: told me he wasn't. One more, he wasn't. He wasn't. Okay,
- 12:30Speaker 1: So Christine is like, your honor, I'm a dancer. I've
- 12:34Speaker 1: been a dancer for years. I'm a dancer at a
- 12:38Speaker 1: local hip hop club, which is where I'm at Gary
- 12:41Speaker 1: and Matthis perks up. He says what kind of club?
- 12:47Speaker 1: And she says a hip hop club, and then she
- 12:51Speaker 1: further goes a swing dancing club, and Mathis goes, oh,
- 12:54Speaker 1: got it. She said hip hop club and he was like, no,
- 12:58Speaker 1: you're not. And then she said a swing dancing club
- 13:01Speaker 1: and he was like, okay, different kind of hip hop.
- 13:03Speaker 1: I guess is what you're talking about. So then she
- 13:05Speaker 1: gets into it. I don't know, I don't know. That's
- 13:07Speaker 1: what happens. You can go watch you to table that's
- 13:09Speaker 1: what happened. Maybe listen. I don't know enough about swing
- 13:13Speaker 1: dancing to know whether or not the cool kids call
- 13:16Speaker 1: swing dancing hip hop. Apparently the cool old kids too
- 13:19Speaker 1: old white Italian people. Uh. So then she goes, I've
- 13:22Speaker 1: been dancing there for years. Gary and I met, We
- 13:26Speaker 1: danced there, we had a great time, and I don't
- 13:29Speaker 1: believe Gary was blind. He says he's blind. He said
- 13:34Speaker 1: he was blind at the time. I don't believe he's
- 13:36Speaker 1: too good at hip hop to possibly be blind. Mathis says,
- 13:39Speaker 1: you don't believe he's blond. Fantastic? She says, no, your honor.
- 13:43Speaker 1: I believe he's a predator. I believe this is how
- 13:46Speaker 1: he gets women and manipulates them by acting blind. I
- 13:50Speaker 1: love that. Mathis is like, did he ever show any
- 13:53Speaker 1: signs of blindness or not being blind? Christine goes, I
- 13:57Speaker 1: have an affid David of a witness of someone witnessing
- 14:02Speaker 1: Gary giving directions to a friend using locations. I love that.
- 14:09Speaker 1: That's fantastic, telling them where to turn and how to
- 14:12Speaker 1: get there. Uh, he uses his blindness. I have so
- 14:15Speaker 1: many affidavits. She's her podium. You can't see it from
- 14:20Speaker 1: all the PaperWorks. She's like, I have a video I'm
- 14:24Speaker 1: going to show you later that will prove what I'm
- 14:26Speaker 1: talking about. I have more affidavits of people observing Gary
- 14:29Speaker 1: cutting his lawn and pulling the weeds. Now there, there are,
- 14:35Speaker 1: there are ways for I wouldn't. I'm just gonna try
- 14:38Speaker 1: to cut you off where he say anything else? Stupid? No,
- 14:40Speaker 1: I'm just silent sunglasses. Huh. Listen, all listen, you had
- 14:46Speaker 1: me at directions. I'm starting to get onto your side.
- 14:48Speaker 1: But Christine says, and for someone that dances swinging hip
- 14:51Speaker 1: hop like he does, I can't imagine. I can't imagine
- 14:58Speaker 1: him spinning around and having the moves that he does
- 15:00Speaker 1: the dance floor. We then see a video of Gary dancing.
- 15:05Speaker 1: It's impressive even for someone is impressive for anyone. My
- 15:12Speaker 1: man is moving and grooving dark in this club. He
- 15:18Speaker 1: is not just sitting there and leading her. He is
- 15:20Speaker 1: spinning out. He's moving on his own. He's grabbing her hand.
- 15:24Speaker 1: It is unreal. How good of a dancer he is.
- 15:27Speaker 1: What is the percentage of swing dance to hip hop?
- 15:31Speaker 1: It's all hip hop? None hip hop, You've got none.
- 15:40Speaker 1: But what is she sing for? So that wait, wait
- 15:43Speaker 1: for we're geting there. But we see this video and
- 15:45Speaker 1: the crowd literally is laughing. Yeah, and this big. I mean,
- 15:49Speaker 1: he's where are you at right now? Seeing this dance?
- 15:52Speaker 1: As soon as I see it, I'm like, first of all,
- 15:55Speaker 1: in my head, I'm going, I can't believe this is
- 15:57Speaker 1: happening in real life. In the two things like this
- 15:59Speaker 1: is cases in twenty fourteen, I think, I can't. You
- 16:02Speaker 1: can't bring this to court. This is the one that
- 16:04Speaker 1: has an updates. Judge Mathis. Judge Mathis is all real people,
- 16:07Speaker 1: real cases. There's no fakes, no fakes, and and and
- 16:12Speaker 1: she is doing this and I'm like this is offensive
- 16:15Speaker 1: to like, it's offensive. And then you see the dancing
- 16:18Speaker 1: and the guy's things Gary Bavinzi and he's from the Sopranos,
- 16:22Speaker 1: Like the dude is like, hey, hey, what do you
- 16:24Speaker 1: want from me? Ay? And so speaking of offensive, So wait,
- 16:28Speaker 1: he didn't have to go that hard. I went hard.
- 16:30Speaker 1: I know I did. Uh. The crowd starts laughing when
- 16:34Speaker 1: this guy is freaking just destroying it on the dance floor.
- 16:37Speaker 1: You're starting to think he's a liar though, so so
- 16:40Speaker 1: he's they're laughing and I'm like, man, this is this
- 16:43Speaker 1: is this is something. You go over to him as
- 16:45Speaker 1: they're laughing, and he goes, hey, I can do these
- 16:47Speaker 1: moves right now. Where's the camera? Show me where somebody
- 16:49Speaker 1: point to me where the camera is, or come over
- 16:52Speaker 1: and tell me and I'll do the moves right now.
- 16:53Speaker 1: What's the problem. And he's like that, And at this
- 16:56Speaker 1: point that's the first time that I'm like, he might
- 16:59Speaker 1: not be blind. Wow. When he when he says, hey,
- 17:02Speaker 1: I can do these moves right now, where's the camera,
- 17:04Speaker 1: I'm like, that's a little too cocky, like that from
- 17:08Speaker 1: what I was expecting to see. Because if you're blind
- 17:10Speaker 1: and you have medical paperwork, yeah, you just sit around
- 17:14Speaker 1: and let her say whatever she wants and then you
- 17:16Speaker 1: go here, here's the doctor saying I'm blind. She needs
- 17:20Speaker 1: to go to jail. For a long long time, I
- 17:22Speaker 1: got to the same hip hop cloud Baffrey week. I
- 17:24Speaker 1: know that I know everything. Yeah, my man is all
- 17:27Speaker 1: over that dance floor. He's just crushing it. Matthis is like, sir,
- 17:33Speaker 1: you matthis is like, doesn't want to be on her
- 17:36Speaker 1: side all He's like, sir, you do know the precise
- 17:39Speaker 1: moment of winning where to grab her hands and her
- 17:41Speaker 1: hips like you do. And Gary goes, You're on her.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Everything's timing. I love that Christine goes cutting your lawn?
- 17:50Speaker 1: Is that timing? Here's a picture of Gary trimming a tree. Yeah, uh,
- 18:00Speaker 1: what say you? Mathis goes, sir, you trim trees, Gary goes,
- 18:06Speaker 1: If it's a low tree, yeah, I can grab those
- 18:08Speaker 1: limbs with a pair of scissors. It's easy. Yeah. And
- 18:12Speaker 1: he's Mathis Is like, mister Mavinzi like, are you blind?
- 18:15Speaker 1: He goes, yes, Sir, he says, I'm legal. He goes,
- 18:18Speaker 1: I'm legally blind. I'm not completely blind. I'm legally blind.
- 18:21Speaker 1: He said. The cells are almost gone that allow me
- 18:25Speaker 1: to see in Uh, this eye, he says, this eye,
- 18:28Speaker 1: I don't remember which one it is, And in this
- 18:30Speaker 1: side they're starting to go. In this eye that I
- 18:32Speaker 1: have cells left, and I have a blur in front
- 18:34Speaker 1: of my eyes. I can do these dance moves because
- 18:38Speaker 1: my parents were jitterbug champions wow. And they started teaching
- 18:43Speaker 1: me how to jitterbug when I was five years old,
- 18:46Speaker 1: and they would take me to dance clubs at five
- 18:49Speaker 1: years old. I had full vision when I was My
- 18:51Speaker 1: parents are the hip Hop Hall of Fame, hip Hop
- 18:53Speaker 1: jitterbug Hall of Fame, exactly right when I was five,
- 18:56Speaker 1: I was doing these moves and I had full vision
- 18:58Speaker 1: for most of my life, So yeah, I can do
- 19:01Speaker 1: these things. Christine is interrupting him, going hard with the
- 19:06Speaker 1: blind jokes. She brings up Stevie Wonder makes a Stevie
- 19:10Speaker 1: Wonder joke. At this point, Mathis loses it on her.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Ma'am Stevie Wonder was blind since birth. Steve like gives
- 19:21Speaker 1: her a history lesson on Stevie Wonder. You gotta stop it.
- 19:25Speaker 1: You got it like you cannot. What you're doing is
- 19:28Speaker 1: not right in this courtroom. It's not right. So Gary's like, look,
- 19:32Speaker 1: I can still see images, like if if you have
- 19:34Speaker 1: a book and you give me a scope and a
- 19:37Speaker 1: large print book, I could make out some words to that.
- 19:40Speaker 1: But I'm one hundred percent legally blond. And she didn't
- 19:46Speaker 1: believe me, your honor before we get into this, and
- 19:48Speaker 1: she took me to the best eye doctor in the
- 19:50Speaker 1: East Coast and paid for it and hurt the diagnosis
- 19:54Speaker 1: herself that I was legally blond. Oh no, And he
- 19:57Speaker 1: goes and I have that documentation. Oh no. So Christine
- 20:04Speaker 1: brought a witness. It's her daughter, Gina. What is she
- 20:09Speaker 1: suing for getting there? Okay? Gina comes up to the
- 20:13Speaker 1: stand and goes this man walks around telling everyone that
- 20:16Speaker 1: he's totally blind. He picked out DVDs for me to
- 20:19Speaker 1: watch with my husband. I've seen him play the lottery.
- 20:22Speaker 1: I've seen him read the Bible. Are you okay? Yeah? Uh? Gary,
- 20:34Speaker 1: it's good. This is a good one. It's a good one.
- 20:36Speaker 1: It's an all time dabble. Gary goes large print Bible
- 20:40Speaker 1: with my scope. Sure, I'll read the Bible. Gina's like,
- 20:43Speaker 1: when he goes to nightclubs, he picks up all his
- 20:45Speaker 1: women and then that's how he gets all their money.
- 20:49Speaker 1: And Matthews is like, all right, let's get to it.
- 20:50Speaker 1: What do you mean this money. Christine's like, over the
- 20:53Speaker 1: course of our relationship, I gave him several loans. She's like.
- 20:56Speaker 1: The first one I gave him was for seventeen hun
- 20:57Speaker 1: and eighty dollars. It was for credit cards. I have
- 20:59Speaker 1: a promise, SERI note right here. The second loan is
- 21:06Speaker 1: for a home. He needed money to start like on
- 21:09Speaker 1: his home. He promised me to pay it back. It
- 21:11Speaker 1: was four thousand and seventy dollars and ninety cents. I
- 21:14Speaker 1: have that promisary. Note Mathis, Oh wait, Mathis turns to
- 21:20Speaker 1: him and Gary goes, your honor, we combine those two
- 21:23Speaker 1: loans into one document, and that document says that I
- 21:26Speaker 1: owe one hundred dollars a month, of which I paid.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Here's my bank. Oh, but where's the combination combined? He's
- 21:33Speaker 1: got the combined comt Oh boy. She then says, your honor,
- 21:39Speaker 1: that shows he's taken out one hundred dollars in cash
- 21:42Speaker 1: once a month, not that he's paid me. And he goes,
- 21:46Speaker 1: He goes, why else would I take out one hundred
- 21:48Speaker 1: dollars in cash every month? And Christine says, it's because
- 21:53Speaker 1: our Gina Christine's otters says it's because he gambles, and
- 21:57Speaker 1: Mathis goes at one hundred dollars a month exactly, and
- 22:02Speaker 1: he's like, oh wait, what does the promisory note say?
- 22:04Speaker 1: The promisory note says he has one hundred dollars a
- 22:06Speaker 1: month to pay back both of these loans combined, which okay,
- 22:10Speaker 1: so that is what that says. They're claiming that he
- 22:12Speaker 1: does take out one hundred dollars a month, hasn't paid,
- 22:14Speaker 1: but hasn't paid them. Correct, great, and he has nine
- 22:18Speaker 1: straight months where he's paid one hundred dollars a month
- 22:20Speaker 1: that he's taken out one hundred dollars a month. Yeah,
- 22:22Speaker 1: and so now gamble that's right, and he says he's
- 22:24Speaker 1: still paying it. So I'm paying one hundred dollars a month.
- 22:26Speaker 1: They're like, no, you're not. Oh so uh so, then
- 22:31Speaker 1: we got Gary's counterclaim. Your counterclaim is for unpaid bills
- 22:35Speaker 1: and emotional distress. And he goes, well, we have utilities
- 22:39Speaker 1: for this house we were going to live in together.
- 22:41Speaker 1: We decided on fifty to fifty. And Christine's like, yeah,
- 22:45Speaker 1: we did. I have a proof that I paid seven
- 22:47Speaker 1: hundred and thirty two dollars, which is my half of
- 22:49Speaker 1: the fifty to fifty. What's the proof that she has?
- 22:51Speaker 1: She has the bills and she has them coming out
- 22:53Speaker 1: of her account, literally, like has proof, and and he says, Gary,
- 23:00Speaker 1: has she failed to pay? Gary says yes. Christine's like, no,
- 23:03Speaker 1: I have evidence. These are the bills. If he has
- 23:04Speaker 1: other evidence, I'd love for him to present them. And
- 23:07Speaker 1: then he goes, well, then she took when she left house,
- 23:10Speaker 1: she took all the appliances, the refrigerator, of the stove,
- 23:13Speaker 1: all of these things. Christine's like, I put all the
- 23:16Speaker 1: money down. He was supposed to split those with me.
- 23:19Speaker 1: He didn't put any money down. I took him because
- 23:20Speaker 1: he didn't pay me any money. And Mathis is like,
- 23:25Speaker 1: did you agree to buy it together? And they said yeah,
- 23:27Speaker 1: and she says yes. So she's suing for five thousand.
- 23:30Speaker 1: Her numbers way higher than that five thousands of max.
- 23:33Speaker 1: You get that all the different things Gary's like, and
- 23:36Speaker 1: he goes tell me about emotional distress. Gary's like, she
- 23:38Speaker 1: made two false reports with the police saying that I'd
- 23:41Speaker 1: threatened her and did all these crazy things like I
- 23:43Speaker 1: was going to snap her neck. Not true. I had
- 23:45Speaker 1: to get a restraining order against her, and then she
- 23:47Speaker 1: stayed in the house for three more nights. Anyway, even
- 23:50Speaker 1: with the restraining order, Christine I just wrote down, Christine
- 23:54Speaker 1: has so many pieces of paper, I mean they're everyway.
- 23:57Speaker 1: So Judge Mathis is now read to rule, well, this
- 24:01Speaker 1: is tough. This is a tough one. Yes, Gary wants
- 24:05Speaker 1: five thousand, emotional is stressed, and then fourteen hundred dollars
- 24:07Speaker 1: in unpaid bills. Christine wants the max. That you can
- 24:11Speaker 1: get five thousand dollars for all of these things. And
- 24:16Speaker 1: it's well more, It's way more than that. It's really
- 24:18Speaker 1: closer to eight thousand dollars that he owes. This is
- 24:26Speaker 1: this is tough.
- 24:27Speaker 2: It's an all timer, man, because obviously we have the
- 24:32Speaker 2: promisory notes that have been combined, and we have somebody
- 24:37Speaker 2: who is claiming and showing that he has taken out
- 24:41Speaker 2: one hundred dollars every month, no proof that that money
- 24:45Speaker 2: has been handed to them, and they are claiming they haven't.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Received it yet. So I don't know how that works legally,
- 24:53Speaker 1: Like if you can just say, hey, I never got it,
- 24:57Speaker 1: Like do you need to start like asking for receipts
- 25:01Speaker 1: for everything, Like, hey, can you just write down that
- 25:03Speaker 1: you got the Like I don't know how this works
- 25:05Speaker 1: because this is at this point he said, she said
- 25:09Speaker 1: with slightly more proof on his part that he actually
- 25:13Speaker 1: took That's very interesting. I think it's actually a little
- 25:16Speaker 1: bit of a like it's most of the case, but
- 25:18Speaker 1: it actually is nothing to it, nothing to it about
- 25:20Speaker 1: to do it.
- 25:22Speaker 2: His the seven was it seven dollars in unpaid seven utilities?
- 25:30Speaker 2: I mean, clearly she has proof that she paid those,
- 25:32Speaker 2: so that's gonna.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Get thrown out. I think that.
- 25:37Speaker 2: If you are blind and you're being harassed from someone
- 25:40Speaker 2: saying that you are not blind. I think that's defamatory,
- 25:48Speaker 2: and I think you should get some money. So I
- 25:50Speaker 2: think that Judge Ross is just going to Judge Matthews
- 25:55Speaker 2: is gonna wipe the slate clean here. I think it's
- 25:57Speaker 2: gonna be no one knows anything. Anybody just leave each
- 25:59Speaker 2: other alone. Christine's getting paid.
- 26:01Speaker 1: He so basically what he does is he takes the
- 26:03Speaker 1: total amount that she believes she's owed, and then he goes,
- 26:09Speaker 1: I'm gonna believe it's too much of a coincidence that
- 26:12Speaker 1: he takes one hundred dollars out of the first of
- 26:13Speaker 1: every month. Yeah, in cash, I'm giving him the nine
- 26:16Speaker 1: hundred you took his appliances when you agreed to buy
- 26:18Speaker 1: him together. It doesn't matter who put the money down,
- 26:21Speaker 1: you agreed to buy him together. I'm giving him fourteen
- 26:23Speaker 1: hundred dollars for that. And then she gets like the
- 26:27Speaker 1: rest of it, which I put thirty thousand, hundred. No, no,
- 26:30Speaker 1: because he's the amount she asked for was five. Oh,
- 26:33Speaker 1: but you can give more. Yes. I think she I
- 26:36Speaker 1: have written Christine six thousand dollars, so I think it's
- 26:39Speaker 1: six thousand. But that doesn't make sense. Maybe we're at
- 26:41Speaker 1: six instead of five. I don't remember. You have an update. Yeah,
- 26:45Speaker 1: so they spoke to both. We don't get to see both,
- 26:48Speaker 1: but Christine has a current active restraining order against Gary
- 26:52Speaker 1: right now. Yeah, and they've not spoken to each other since.
- 26:56Speaker 2: As far as we know, he's still blind. What a time,
- 26:58Speaker 2: As far as we know, he's still blind.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Yes, yes, still you think he's blind? I do? Okay,
- 27:04Speaker 1: I do? Yeah, absolutely. I mean that's something that in
- 27:07Speaker 1: court you should never have to do. You just went
- 27:10Speaker 1: she just went so hard, Yes, so hard. Yeah. It's
- 27:13Speaker 1: like people that don't understand the spectrum of blindness. Yeah,
- 27:16Speaker 1: go into a courtroom and make a a ass of themselves.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Like it's just like interesting, dude, and like you had
- 27:23Speaker 1: all the proof you needed for him to pay. Why
- 27:25Speaker 1: did you bring blind into this? Yeah? So stupid, that's wild.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Yeah, well we did everybody. We're gonna be back next
- 27:31Speaker 2: time with another one. Until then, all rise.
