Latest / Connor with Honor: AI, Real Estate and Real Life / The AI Interface Shift: How Agents Win with Trust, Distribution, and Operations
Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Good morning, everybody.
- 0:01SPEAKER_00: It's February 9th, 2026.
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: I'm Connor.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: We're gonna do something different than most of the uh real estate AI shows of the past.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: So most people are still stuck in the tutorial energy.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: Click here, paste this, use this particular prompt, and all that stuff is fine, but it's really not the game anymore.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: The game is gonna be positioning for you as a real estate agent, it's gonna be distribution, it's also going to be trust.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: And the game is who stays in business as AI changes the interface between the consumer and the marketplace.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: So today I'm gonna bring you three signals from this week, and then I'm gonna give you the moves as an agent or as a broker team, so you know exactly where your eyes need to be looking.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: And I'm gonna say this up front.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: If you're watching this and you're an agent, this isn't to scare you, this is to simply wake you up.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Because the people that treat AI like a trend, they're gonna get trend washed.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: The people who treat AI like operations, they're gonna definitely compound.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: So here's the headline for today the front door is real estate is becoming conversational inside of artificial intelligence.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: And the winners aren't going to be the ones who use AI, they're gonna be the ones who build trust systems, governance, and distribution inside AI.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: So let's get into it.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: So every Monday we're doing the same structure, the signal, what changed in the world this week, the impact, what that means for real estate agents and other businesses, and then the move, what to do next.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: Agents, brokers, and operators.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: So what's gonna end up happening?
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna keep this, uh, I'm gonna keep it repeating something all year.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: You'll hear this from me.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: AI doesn't replace agents, it replaces undisciplined operations.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: So if you have systems, standards, and trust, AI makes you faster and bigger.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: If you're winging it, AI exposes you.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: All right, so here's the first signal.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: Redfin this week actually just distributed a real estate app inside ChatGPT.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: So no longer is, well, Zillow is still the partner, but they're not the only one in there.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: Now Redfin jumped in.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: So consumers can access listings, data, and market insights directly inside the AI interface.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: So this press release that was dated February 6th, 2026, just a few days ago.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: And industry coverage is framing this as a major shift in consumer home search.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: So Redfin becoming the latest portal to roll out an app in ChatGPT after earlier debate sparked by similar moves.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: Now, I want you to really hear this.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: This is not a feature, this is not another app, this is a distribution shift.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: For the last decade, the consumer journey looked like so you had portal, filters, clicks, and maybe reaches out.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: Now, increasingly, it's going to be question, conversation, shortlist, confidence, and then action.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: That matters because when the interface changes, the winners change.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: So, what's that impact look like?
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: The impact is that marketing becomes the answer.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Let me explain.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: When people search in a portal, they compare properties.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: When people search in a conversational AI interface, they compare interpretations.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: They're not just asking how many beds, they're asking, is the neighborhood safe?
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: Is the commute realistic?
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: What kind of buyer is the home perfect for?
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: What's the hidden downside?
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: What should I watch out for?
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: And in a conversational interface, the consumer expects a coherent explanation, a trustworthy tone, a clear set of trade-offs, and a path to action, a direct path to action, which means the agent, the brokerage that win are the ones who can supply the clarity, evidence, the consistency, and of course the trust, not just the pretty photos, which every website's able to do very well.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: And here's the part that nobody wants to hear.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: So if you're a random agent with random messaging and you're doing random content, you're going to be invisible in a world where the consumer asks the AI for the best path.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: In a world like that, the winners are going to be the category leaders, the trusted explainers, the operators, and the brokerages with standards.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: So the biggest shift isn't how to use or how do I use ChatGPT or Claude or Grok or any of these other systems.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: The biggest shift is how do I become that trusted interpreter of the market inside of the AI era.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: So here's the move for agents this week.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: And I want you to build something I'm calling the conversational listing pack.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: This is what makes your listings AI ready.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: And more importantly, this makes you the trusted authority when buyers start to ask questions.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: Now it's three parts, and it's going to be very simple.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: So the first one, part one, the plain English property story.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: So it's not features, not fluff.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: This is going to be a story like around the campfire story.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: And who is this home going to be for?
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: Why does it matter?
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: What lifestyle does it support?
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: Now, I gave you three things there.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: Who is this home for?
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: Why does it matter?
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: What lifestyle does it support?
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: Be wary.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Don't answer in a regard that's going to get you in a bind or in a pinch.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: You have to stay away from any kind of assignment that violates any kind of the rules out there as far as ethics, races, genders, religions, any protected class, just be wary because some of those can get people involved into saying things that they shouldn't say and they need to stay away from.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: So be wary with that.
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: But an example tone, this is for the buyers who wants this and cares more about this than that, and is willing to trade something to get something else.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: Those are those types of tones we want to use.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: And that'll keep you protected as well.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: So the buyer QA sheet, you write the questions buyers will ask before they ask them.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: Parking, schools, HOA, insurance realities, big deal now in California, age of the roof, that plumbing type, the electrical, solar terms.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: People aren't talking about that.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: Is there a lease in place?
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: Is it paid off?
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: What kind of power is it generating?
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: What are the rules on the inside of the building cycle?
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: Permits, commute patterns, noise, heat, wind, and of course, fire considerations.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: Now, not just hype, but actual facts.
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: And the third part, the neighborhood truth deck.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: This is what pros do what's great, what's not great, what's changing, and what is coming.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: The AI era rewards honesty because honesty builds confidence.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: Now, here's what you need to do with this pack.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: Use it to write your listening description, use it to train your own content, use it to create your showings follow-up, and also use it to create your buyer consult narrative.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: And the biggest reason you do this is because when AI becomes the interface, your clarity becomes your lead generation.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: Brokers and teams, this is going to be the move move.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: Now, brokers, owners, team leaders, this is where you can dominate.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: Your move is to create an AI distribution playbook.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: And it has four components: approved listing narrative template, a standard QA field so your agents can stop improvising facts, a source of truth doc per listing, everyone, and a policy line that you enforce.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: If I can't cite it, you can't claim it.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: Because the minute your brokerage becomes known for accuracy and transparency, we're not just marketing homes, you're marketing trust.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: That's the game changer.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: And trust becomes the moat.
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: All right, so signal one, AI is going to be becoming the front door, not now signal two.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: Signal two, trust laws are turning into competitive advantage.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: Signal number two, California's AB 723 is now in effect.
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: Starting January 1st, 2026, real estate professionals must disclose when listing or marketing images have been digitally altered and provide access to the original images when altered images are made public.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: So MLS organizations are also implementing enforcement standards around AB 723 inside MLS rules and downstream distribution.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: So here's what's happening: the law is catching up to AI marketing.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: This is not theoretical anymore.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: What's the impact of this going to be?
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: The impact is that the era of just made to look perfect is ending.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: And I want to say something clearly AI tools can make photos better.
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: They can stage, they can brighten, they can remove objects.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: But as soon as you materially alter reality, the world is saying to tell the consumer.
- 8:36SPEAKER_00: Now, here's the power move.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: Most agents are going to treat disclosure like a burden.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: We see this all the time.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: Leaders are going to treat disclosure like branding.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: That's where you need to be.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: Because in a world where everyone can generate glossy marketing, trust becomes the differentiator.
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: And real estate is the most trust-sensitive canopy there is.
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: I went from law enforcement into a whole different venue in the real estate world, and absolutely there is a lot less trust in real estate than there was in law enforcement.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: Well, we've seen that change too.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: But if buyers feel like they're being AI sold, they're going to hesitate.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: If sellers feel like marketing is fake, they're going to escalate.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: And if brokerages can't prove what's changed and by whom, that's risk.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: So the real impact is going to be governance becomes growth, compliance becomes marketing, transparency becomes your competitive advantage.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: That's where this is going.
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: So, agents, here's your move this week.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: You're going to create a simple process.
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: Step number one is make a before and after folder for every listing.
- 9:45SPEAKER_00: Stick it on your desktop, put it in some kind of a file that you get to keep track of.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: If you use AI staging or edits, store originals and final versions.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: Step number two, you're going to add a disclosure line in your marketing workflow.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: Where does it appear?
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: MS, MLS, social posts, website, flyers, anywhere that your agents or you are going to be placing this altered image.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: Now, build trust language that makes you sound like a pro.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: Here's the exact line that I would probably use.
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: We use enhancements responsibly and we disclose them because in real estate, trust beats hype.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: That's how you turn a compliance requirement into a brand asset.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: This is how you show that you are aligned with the consumer and you are on their side.
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: So broker owners and team leaders, you're going to need a one-page standard.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: I'll call it AI marketing standards.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: That's one page.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: This is going to include what's going to count as altered in your brokerage.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: And that's going to be any, any change in the image from the original that was taken at the property to anything that's modified later.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: Where the disclosure must appear is number two, you're going to have it include where originals are going to be stored and who audits these weekly, and then the consequence for noncompliance.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: Because let me tell you something.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: When AI gets more powerful and it's getting more powerful every single moment of every single day, the consumer is going to assume more deception.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: You've seen them, deep fakes, all that AI slop out there.
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: These it's it's just getting more and more ridiculous, and pretty soon we will achieve ludicrous speed, if you've seen space balls.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: The brokerage that wins is the one that can confidently say we use AI ethically, transparently, and with receipts.
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: Now that's signal number two.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: Trust laws are turning into competitive advantage.
- 11:41SPEAKER_00: Now, signal three, and this one matters beyond real estate.
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: Signal number three, all disclosure is going to go mainstream.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: So New York, uh New York passed the AI Transparency and Advertising Act, requiring disclosure when ads used AI-generated synthetic performers.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: It was signed in December 2025 and takes effect June 9th, 2026.
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: And I'm bringing this up on a real estate show for a reason.
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: This isn't just about ads, it's about the direction of regulation and consumer expectation.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: The world is moving forward.
- 12:13SPEAKER_00: Tell me when AI is simulating reality.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: That's the theme.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: So what's the impact?
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: The impact is that every business category is entering the trust era.
- 12:24SPEAKER_00: Marketing is going to be more regulated, claims are going to require more proof, and the public is going to get more skeptical.
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: That means if you're an agent, you can't just rely on content.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: You need credibility systems.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: So if you're a brokerage, you can't just rely on recruiting.
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: You need standards and trading.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: If you're a business owner, restaurant, law firm, dental contractor, you can't just use AI to pump out ads.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: You're going to need governance, you're going to need review and disclosure discipline because the penalty won't just be legal.
- 12:55SPEAKER_00: The penalty is going to be reputation.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: And the reputational damage kills conversion.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: So here's the meta point.
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: AI is making trust explicit.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: And when trust becomes explicit, operators end.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: When, excuse me, here's the move I want every business owner to make this week.
- 13:12SPEAKER_00: Real estate agent and real estate brokerage agents are not.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: Create a trust stack.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: So number one on that trust stack is going to be disclosure policy.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: When and where you disclose AI use.
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: Number two is review policy.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: Who approves the outputs before you publish?
- 13:29SPEAKER_00: Number three is evidence policy, what data you keep that supports claims.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: And number four, training policy, how your staff is trained to use AI responsibly.
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: And if you think this is too much, let me say it another way.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: This is going to become as normal as HR policies, as normal as your compliance binder, as normal as your onboarding.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: The leaders that adopt it now, everyone else adopts it after an incident.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: The leader, now, everybody else, they wait for something to happen.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: Don't let that be you.
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: Now I'm going to give you the fourth signal, which is the capability leap signal.
- 14:06SPEAKER_00: This is the tech side, but I'm going to translate it into a business strategy.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: Signal number four, tech to business.
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: AI is moving from prompts to agent teams.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: So Anthropic released Claude Opus 4.6 on February 5th, 2026, a few days ago, upgrading its flagship model and emphasizing planning, long context performance, and what they describe as AI teammates and workflows.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: And if you haven't played with it yet, it's yeah, it is everything in a bag of chips.
- 14:38SPEAKER_00: It's just amazing.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: Coverage this week also emphasizes Opus's 4.6 in complex reasoning and even vulnerability discovery, showing how artificial intelligence is moving from chat into real operational tasks.
- 14:52SPEAKER_00: Now, regardless on whether you prefer open AI tools, anthropic, grok, or something else, the direction is all the same.
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: And in fact, most of them are going to be very, very similar to each other.
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: They'll become a point where they're going to exceed all human expectation, and they're going to be put together in such a way that it's all going to blend together and everything's going to be exactly what we want.
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: The only thing we're going to see difference is when we switch a model.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: Right now, my suggestion to anybody watching and the people that I have in my training seminars is you need to work with all of them.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: You need to test out all of them.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: Doesn't mean you need to go out there and spend money on all of them.
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: A lot of the free tiers are going to give you enough exposure so you can see how they act.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: The biggest point for us as human beings is after a while, we're going to get spoiled by a particular model because it knows a lot about Connor.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: It knows what Connor likes.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: It knows what kind of outputs Connor likes to see.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: The shock of it is, is once you go from having someone that knows you, it's like dealing with somebody that might have had some kind of a brain problem where they don't remember you anymore.
- 15:59SPEAKER_00: You move over to another model.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: It's just as smart, just as sharp, just as accessible.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: But when you start to deal with it, it doesn't know anything about Connor or it knows very little, especially if you've never used it before.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: So all of a sudden it kind of puts you back a little bit on your heels and you start to realize that I had something that really knows me well.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: Now I'm dealing with something that doesn't know me at all.
- 16:22SPEAKER_00: And that little change, that little fact is something that's good.
- 16:25SPEAKER_00: That's a good, uncomfortable space for you to be in because this new model, the one you just met, might not give you the answers that you're so ready to hear.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: It might give you something that you aren't ready to hear, and that might be very helpful.
- 16:40SPEAKER_00: It's like having a very strong mentor that's going to tell you how it is.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: You know, don't be BS, don't delay, don't do this, don't do this thing that you do.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: The other system might have actually developed an affection and likes it when you talk nice to it and thank you very much and so on.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: The new system doesn't know you, so it might not be as critical of you, or it might be more critical, I should say.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: So watch out for that.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: So the direction is all going to be the same.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: AI is going to be shifting from a tool you ask questions to into a layer of work for workforce capacity.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: So here's the impact in simple terms.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: Most people still use AI just like this.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: Write me a post, give me a script, make me a flyer.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: That's all entry-level stuff.
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: That new game is going to be at running workflows.
- 17:30SPEAKER_00: AI runs workflows.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: And the brokerages and businesses that are going to have standardized workflows, shared knowledge, clean inputs, and consistent outputs, and then they're going to win.
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: And that's why, because AI is only going to be as good as the quality of the input, the structure of the process, and the discipline of the operator.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: So let me translate this into real estate.
- 17:53SPEAKER_00: This is what an AI teammate looks like inside of an agent's business.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: It turns your lead intake notes into a structured consultation plan.
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: It generates your follow-up sequences based on buyer personality.
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: It creates your weekly market commentary based on your data.
- 18:11SPEAKER_00: It drafts your listing QA and disclosure language.
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: It flags risks before you publish.
- 18:17SPEAKER_00: It creates your showing feedback summaries into seller updates.
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: That's not magic.
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: That's operations.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: And operations is the difference between agents who survive and the agents who are going to fade.
- 18:29SPEAKER_00: So, agents, your move this week is not to learn 40 tools.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: It's to build one workflow, one end-to-end.
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: Here it is lead, consult, and follow-up.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: So step one, the lead intake, the structured summary.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: Every lead you get, you capture motivation, timeline, budget constraints, fears, decision makers, and the next steps.
- 18:54SPEAKER_00: Then you run it through AI to produce a consulting plan, key objections, and your next best action checklist.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: And the number two, step number two, consult and personalize follow-up.
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: After the call, AI drafts a recap email, a text summary, and a seven-day follow-up sequence.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: So here's the rule: you approve every message before it goes out.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: You own the relationship.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: Step number three is you're going to be following up the weekly touch system.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: AI is going to produce a Monday check-in, a Thursday value drop, and a Sunday scheduling task.
- 19:29SPEAKER_00: It's simple, it's clean, and it's repeatable.
- 19:32SPEAKER_00: If you do this, you will out-operate 90% of the agents who are still chasing hacks.
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: So here's the end one.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: Move.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: Broker, owners, and team leaders.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: You move is to choose one workflow for the office and standardize it.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: You can pick one of these.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: Listing launch workflow, new agent onboarding workflow, client communication standards workflow, transaction timeline workflow, compliance plus marketing review workflow.
- 19:59SPEAKER_00: And if you document it, train it, and measure it, AI doesn't replace your team.
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: AI replaces chaos.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: And the brokerages that build discipline will gain market share during the shakeup.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: Here's the 90-day reality I see coming.
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: Number one, the portal era becomes the AI interface era.
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: Consumers start their journey in conversation, not asking for a two-bedroom, three-bedroom help.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: How is it like to live in Valencia?
- 20:25SPEAKER_00: What kind of houses do you think I can find there?
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: What's the price point?
