- 0:07Speaker 1: Welcome to the Favorites, presented by Draft Kings. The crown
- 0:13Speaker 1: is yours. We are an Action Network podcast. I'm Brandon Kravitz,
- 0:17Speaker 1: your host to back at it with partials of the crew.
- 0:20Speaker 1: The Prime Minister of degen Nation, Stucky Kendrim Middleton will
- 0:23Speaker 1: be back next week. Evan Abrams Optimus Primer is here
- 0:27Speaker 1: as well. My fantasy drafts are scheduled and set, but
- 0:32Speaker 1: I do need some guidance on who to draft, where
- 0:35Speaker 1: to draft, who we should be avoiding like the plague
- 0:38Speaker 1: Kendall Vevenezuela from Fantasy Life. We'll be joining us on
- 0:42Speaker 1: today's episode. But first and foremost, Stucky, A happy birthday
- 0:45Speaker 1: to you.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Yeah, yes, that was my birthday.
- 0:50Speaker 3: But I.
- 0:52Speaker 2: I have I had some When I was driving to
- 0:57Speaker 2: dinner for my birthday, I had this this random thought.
- 1:01Speaker 2: So I got a call on my cell phone. It
- 1:06Speaker 2: was a spam call. When I get seventeen million of
- 1:09Speaker 2: those a day to climb that, And then I got
- 1:13Speaker 2: a notification on my phone that there was someone on
- 1:18Speaker 2: my front door, which was someone a delivery person. So
- 1:22Speaker 2: I just and then I looked at my kid and
- 1:25Speaker 2: I said, you know, one of the most when I
- 1:28Speaker 2: was like ten twelve, I don't know, like a young
- 1:32Speaker 2: kid in middle school. One of the like the things
- 1:36Speaker 2: that we would do for like that was so much
- 1:38Speaker 2: fun is like it just being a like just getting
- 1:42Speaker 2: into mischief as a kid. One prank calls. We did
- 1:47Speaker 2: a lot of prank phone calls. I feel like you
- 1:49Speaker 2: can't do prank phone. Kids can't do prank phone calls
- 1:51Speaker 2: anymore because no one's going to pick up unless they
- 1:53Speaker 2: know it's your number. Right, Like every and every you
- 1:56Speaker 2: would call, you'd just call random number. We would get
- 1:57Speaker 2: out in the elevators to call random number, do prank call,
- 2:00Speaker 2: and everyone would pick up because it we just called.
- 2:02Speaker 2: It would go to your person's house and they didn't know,
- 2:04Speaker 2: so they would pick up. And you could just do
- 2:06Speaker 2: prank calls for days. And then we would do like
- 2:08Speaker 2: ding don ditch. You can't do that anyone because everyone
- 2:10Speaker 2: has a camera that did you see it at your
- 2:13Speaker 2: front door your ring camera and it doesn't work and
- 2:15Speaker 2: it's like, oh I just saw a kid run away.
- 2:17Speaker 2: I'm not going to go answer my door. So what
- 2:18Speaker 2: are kids doing these days for their pranks? I don't know,
- 2:21Speaker 2: random thought I had, that's.
- 2:22Speaker 1: A great question. I don't know. I guess it would
- 2:25Speaker 1: have to be something like creating a burner account on
- 2:28Speaker 1: social media. It's got to it's got to be something
- 2:31Speaker 1: like that. And uh And I think that probably UH
- 2:35Speaker 1: lends itself to our uptick in cyberbullying around the country
- 2:39Speaker 1: and the world. But it's a good point. I don't
- 2:41Speaker 1: pick up my phone for anybody. I barely pick up
- 2:44Speaker 1: my phone if I do know the person that's calling
- 2:46Speaker 1: and I've got them on caller, I d definitely not
- 2:49Speaker 1: at if somebody rings.
- 2:50Speaker 2: The I didn't know the answer that the number two
- 2:54Speaker 2: in I don't know a decade.
- 2:57Speaker 1: My heart drops into my stomach. If somebody rings the
- 3:00Speaker 1: door bell, like I think that the world must be ending.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Why else would you be trying to contact me at
- 3:07Speaker 1: my front door. It feels so invasive. And as a kid,
- 3:10Speaker 1: I didn't care if somebody knocked at the door, you
- 3:12Speaker 1: went and answered it. Now as an adult, it gives
- 3:15Speaker 1: me the hives the idea of going to answer my door. Yeah.
- 3:21Speaker 2: The other thing is you don't have I think I
- 3:22Speaker 2: brought this up on the show for you. You don't
- 3:24Speaker 2: have to. And this goes back to people's like communication skills.
- 3:29Speaker 2: But you don't have to remember having to like call
- 3:31Speaker 2: a girl in high school. You had to call their
- 3:34Speaker 2: house so for them, but you had to like talk
- 3:38Speaker 2: to the parent first, and oh my.
- 3:40Speaker 1: God, that was it's these days they don't answer the.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Dad answered ship for now you're just just hit up
- 3:48Speaker 2: their cell.
- 3:49Speaker 1: But my revery that exists. That wasn't your question that
- 3:54Speaker 1: that felt so stucky question?
- 3:55Speaker 2: Like, no, Mike, my quick, that was just an observation,
- 3:58Speaker 2: my quick. My question of the day is, Hey, this
- 4:02Speaker 2: is a dumb question.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Let me ask you a personal question kind of question.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Is that is question.
- 4:10Speaker 2: If you had to lock in the rest of your life,
- 4:14Speaker 2: you can only have There's one plate and this is
- 4:18Speaker 2: what you get every day for breakfast for the rest
- 4:23Speaker 2: of your life. You can't change it. And you can
- 4:25Speaker 2: fill up one plate. What is what does your plate
- 4:29Speaker 2: look like for your breakfast? I'll let you think about it.
- 4:33Speaker 2: I mean, I'm going I want like a cheesy Now
- 4:43Speaker 2: the thing is like, now I'm stuck, just I can't
- 4:44Speaker 2: ever have a healthy breakfast, but whatever a cheesy like
- 4:50Speaker 2: like hash potato hash and and then I guess I'll
- 4:56Speaker 2: say like a little bowl of oat me own fruit.
- 4:58Speaker 2: And then I want a sausage egg And excuse me
- 5:05Speaker 2: why I say sausage a scrapple if you know you
- 5:08Speaker 2: know what scrapple from? Do you know what scrapple is?
- 5:11Speaker 1: I have no idea. I thought that was a board game.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Scrapple is like this meat like google scrapple people, only
- 5:22Speaker 2: it's like a Pennsylvy. It's like an Amish thing, but
- 5:24Speaker 2: it's in Pennsylvania. You'll find it a lot. It's like
- 5:27Speaker 2: one of my favorite breakfast foods. Scrapple egg and cheese
- 5:30Speaker 2: on a croissant.
- 5:33Speaker 1: That looks nice, that looks like that looks like elevated
- 5:36Speaker 1: spam pretty much.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Yeah, and you I'd like to make it like make
- 5:40Speaker 2: a make it real thin and I put a like
- 5:43Speaker 2: a couple of extra slices on the side. But yeah,
- 5:47Speaker 2: that I go, scrapple egg and cheese on a croissant,
- 5:51Speaker 2: a little cheesy potato hash, some like peppers and onions
- 5:55Speaker 2: in there, a lot of garlic, and then like a
- 5:58Speaker 2: little little like ramikin of oatmeal and fruit. I think
- 6:05Speaker 2: That's what I'm going with.
- 6:06Speaker 1: I dig the variety. I think I would I would
- 6:08Speaker 1: go with along those same lines.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Eat it every day, cause you're gonna get it every day, right,
- 6:14Speaker 2: So like it's like, all right today, I'm not eating
- 6:15Speaker 2: the breakfast sandwich. I'm just gonna eat.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Those big breakfast guys. So I'd have no problem. I
- 6:19Speaker 1: think you got to start your day with a hearty breakfast.
- 6:21Speaker 1: And almost ten years ago now, when my wife and
- 6:24Speaker 1: I went on our honeymoon went to Sandals, Jamaica, and
- 6:28Speaker 1: we stayed at the all inclusive resort, the breakfast that
- 6:32Speaker 1: they had available every morning was I still have dreams
- 6:36Speaker 1: about it. The omelet. They had this all this tropical
- 6:40Speaker 1: fruit like lee cheese. I'd never even had those before.
- 6:44Speaker 1: And so whatever I had on that plate breakfast, potatoes,
- 6:49Speaker 1: omelet and some of that tropical fruit, maybe like a muffin,
- 6:53Speaker 1: that would be every single day of my life. I
- 6:55Speaker 1: could eat that. I would never get sick of it,
- 6:58Speaker 1: never get sick of it. That's the thing with breaks
- 7:00Speaker 1: is too stucky, is it? Like once you get into
- 7:02Speaker 1: a certain break there's only so many options you have,
- 7:04Speaker 1: like cereal, eggs, bacon, And we have not expanded the
- 7:10Speaker 1: breakfast variety all that much as time has gone on.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Yeah, Like I've been like I agree, you get like
- 7:16Speaker 2: over to like Europe. It's like someone like a nice
- 7:20Speaker 2: hotel has like a breakfast spread in the morning, oh man,
- 7:22Speaker 2: with like all the meats and cheeses and different frick
- 7:27Speaker 2: it's much more expansive. But okay, I dig it, Evan,
- 7:33Speaker 2: what's your plate?
- 7:34Speaker 4: I was thinking about it. It's just got to be eggs,
- 7:37Speaker 4: Like it's something I wouldn't get sick of, and you'd
- 7:40Speaker 4: probably throw like some fruit on there, like an old meal.
- 7:43Speaker 4: You're right to make variety, but if you just told
- 7:46Speaker 4: me you can only have one dish, it's like, don't
- 7:48Speaker 4: fuck around with all the other stuff and like make
- 7:50Speaker 4: it hard. It's probably like just like scrambled eggs with
- 7:53Speaker 4: a ham like or something like that I just wouldn't
- 7:55Speaker 4: get sick of.
- 7:57Speaker 2: And then David Mexico, I mean, are you going Mexico
- 8:02Speaker 2: breakfasts are awesome? Are you going like Upper Out or
- 8:05Speaker 2: like Waveos friend cher Us. I'm going biscuits and gravy
- 8:09Speaker 2: with some green chili hmm, every morning, every morning, and
- 8:13Speaker 2: I will be dead in a couple of years. That's heavy.
- 8:18Speaker 4: I was gonna go oatmeal, but it's so fucking boring.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I have oatmeal a lot. Some more like a
- 8:23Speaker 2: lot of mornings during football.
- 8:24Speaker 4: And well, like every morning I would.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I do. I got some over. I got like
- 8:29Speaker 2: some of those overnight oats during football season that I
- 8:31Speaker 2: do like just putting in a shaker and yeah, so
- 8:35Speaker 2: they have different flavors and I'll just put different types
- 8:37Speaker 2: of food in there to keep it spice it up.
- 8:38Speaker 2: But yeah, every morning. That's why I just need it
- 8:40Speaker 2: as one of the sides, where like if I'm just
- 8:41Speaker 2: gonna have o once some mornings, but yeah, that's a
- 8:45Speaker 2: crazy choice, going biscuits and graty every morning. But grisson
- 8:49Speaker 2: and gravy with green chilis, I'm going out on top.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Sounds amazing.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Yeah quickly too. That's the fantasy life that we are living.

- 9:58Speaker 5: the crown is yours.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Kendel Valenzuela seen your fantasy analyst at Matthew Berry's Fantasy
- 10:05Speaker 1: Life website. I'm sure she is already knee deep in drafts,
- 10:09Speaker 1: but still took some time to chop it up with
- 10:11Speaker 1: the favorite screw today. Thanks so much for joining us, Kendall.
- 10:14Speaker 1: I'm beyond excited to get into this.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Yeah, what's up? Guys, I'm excited fantasy football rolling. That
- 10:19Speaker 3: means football is very close, so it's time to like
- 10:22Speaker 3: start grinding and get ready for it.
- 10:25Speaker 1: And this badass background that Kendall has, like she's got
- 10:29Speaker 1: some pool holes in the background. We got a griffy figurine.
- 10:33Speaker 1: I think Jalen Hurts is looking at the sky. Mean,
- 10:35Speaker 1: we really covered all the.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Bases there, exactly exactly. I'm a Mariners fan, so in
- 10:40Speaker 3: the back of my mind, I always have to be like, hey,
- 10:41Speaker 3: you can't get too excited about your Seahawks because you're
- 10:44Speaker 3: a Mariners fan and we have nothing good ever happened
- 10:46Speaker 3: to us. So it's just like a little reminder to
- 10:48Speaker 3: keep myself grounded.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Yeah, the Mariner's just every night is a different, painful loss.
- 10:53Speaker 3: I get like, if you get me going on the
- 10:55Speaker 3: Mariners right now, like that'll be the whole show. And
- 10:57Speaker 3: it's just it's awful. And you just have to say
- 11:00Speaker 3: for all Mariners fans, because it feels like it's never
- 11:02Speaker 3: gonna get better and they're in a horrible division and
- 11:04Speaker 3: they still can't do much.
- 11:05Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah, that was so close last year. All right, well,
- 11:10Speaker 1: you know, another season in front of us still draft season.
- 11:15Speaker 1: This is something I struggle with every year, is the
- 11:18Speaker 1: prep side of it. I do think that there is
- 11:21Speaker 1: some paralysis by analysis that can set in. Is it
- 11:25Speaker 1: possible to have too many mocks? Do you think it's
- 11:30Speaker 1: possible to dip into too many?
- 11:32Speaker 3: There cap No, you're asking the wrong person. I do
- 11:35Speaker 3: mocks every single day just to like, because my thing
- 11:37Speaker 3: with mox is you want to go in with the
- 11:39Speaker 3: right intention. I always tell people if you're doing mock drafts,
- 11:42Speaker 3: you know, do them for fun, whatever. But if you're
- 11:44Speaker 3: in multiple leagues across multiple different platforms, it is such
- 11:47Speaker 3: a helpful tool to be able to do that. Like
- 11:49Speaker 3: we've got one at fantasylife dot com. That's the only
- 11:51Speaker 3: one I use because it's so important to know the
- 11:54Speaker 3: different ADPs across all these different platforms. If you're a
- 11:57Speaker 3: best ball bro and you're doing Underdog, that's going to
- 11:59Speaker 3: be so different and from the ADPs that are coming
- 12:01Speaker 3: off on ESPN. So it's just like getting your mind right,
- 12:03Speaker 3: getting yourself ready, and like especially if you can sink
- 12:06Speaker 3: your scoring settings, you know, your league settings, whatever it
- 12:08Speaker 3: may be. Now, there's no such thing as too many mocks.
- 12:11Speaker 1: There's a lot of that personalized stuff over in Fantasy Life.
- 12:14Speaker 1: So to that point, that's a smart extra plug for
- 12:17Speaker 1: the company.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Exactly. That's all I'm gonna do fantasylift dot Com today
- 12:21Speaker 3: because that's it's true, like you just want to get
- 12:23Speaker 3: you just want to get ready. And so if you can't,
- 12:24Speaker 3: if you can't practice by doing best ball drafts. I
- 12:26Speaker 3: love best ball drafts on Underdog. If you can't do that,
- 12:29Speaker 3: some people just can't, whether they live in the state
- 12:30Speaker 3: or they just don't want to. You still want to
- 12:32Speaker 3: go and practice.
- 12:33Speaker 2: What is your personal split going into this year between
- 12:37Speaker 2: like standard, you know, like guillotine, best ball, Like, what
- 12:41Speaker 2: is your personal portfolio split.
- 12:43Speaker 3: I'll have the most best ball drafts because then it
- 12:46Speaker 3: just it just brings you in right and then you
- 12:48Speaker 3: have to stop, like right before the season starts. But
- 12:50Speaker 3: I'll have the most best ball drafts. But I really like,
- 12:53Speaker 3: you know, traditional redraft formats. I'll be in a really
- 12:56Speaker 3: good amount of those. And I think I'm glad you
- 12:58Speaker 3: brought up guillotine links. So I'll be in about ten
- 13:01Speaker 3: guillotine leagues as well. So guillotine leagues is such a
- 13:03Speaker 3: fun different way to do it. So if you guys
- 13:05Speaker 3: haven't done that. I've actually been telling people if they're
- 13:07Speaker 3: trying to get into fantasy or like I don't know,
- 13:10Speaker 3: get their parents into fantasy, Like I made my mom
- 13:12Speaker 3: start doing it. I'm like, here, this one isn't like
- 13:14Speaker 3: as bad because you still have to, you know, hopefully
- 13:16Speaker 3: manage a roster throughout the whole season. But it's just
- 13:19Speaker 3: fun being able to like bin on Derrick Henry in
- 13:21Speaker 3: week five or like Christian McCaffrey in week ten. So yeah,
- 13:25Speaker 3: I've got a good amount of everything Dynasty as well,
- 13:28Speaker 3: keeper leagues. Like, there's just so many ways to get involved,
- 13:31Speaker 3: so I would say get involved in all of them.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Can we go back to the beginning a little bit
- 13:37Speaker 1: with you before we get into the players itself. So
- 13:40Speaker 1: with a lot of different coaching changes, offensive schemes, battles
- 13:44Speaker 1: going into training camp that we've got to dig into.
- 13:46Speaker 1: But Kendall, the beginning for you, When did you get
- 13:49Speaker 1: the bug? When did the fantasy bug? When did And
- 13:52Speaker 1: I'm sure back then, whatever this was, you never thought
- 13:55Speaker 1: you'd be making a living off of that on top
- 13:57Speaker 1: of it.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Yeah, no it was. My dad was high school football coach,
- 14:01Speaker 3: so I grew up always around football, like sports in general,
- 14:04Speaker 3: as you can hear from my Mariners fandom. But like
- 14:06Speaker 3: my dad was a football coach. He coached offensive lineman,
- 14:10Speaker 3: so I was always out there with him when I
- 14:11Speaker 3: was like six, I want to say this like my
- 14:13Speaker 3: earliest memory, and I remember he would always host our
- 14:16Speaker 3: fantasy football drafts with his friends and our family in
- 14:19Speaker 3: our backyard, and I would be the one. They would
- 14:21Speaker 3: do it in a way where I would have to
- 14:22Speaker 3: go and pick out of a deck of cards to
- 14:24Speaker 3: be able to pick the draft order. So no one
- 14:25Speaker 3: can yell at a sweet little six year old when
- 14:27Speaker 3: they give them, you know, the twelfth pick in this draft.
- 14:29Speaker 3: They can't be like, shoot, I can't. I don't like that.
- 14:32Speaker 3: So that's my earliest memory. And then I've just always
- 14:34Speaker 3: loved I've always loved sports. Grew up with obviously the
- 14:37Speaker 3: Seattle Seahawks. We had our basketball team sent away, so
- 14:41Speaker 3: there wasn't much. There wasn't a lot else to go
- 14:43Speaker 3: and look at, look at. We didn't have a hockey
- 14:44Speaker 3: team until recently. Mariners were still there just breaking our hearts.
- 14:48Speaker 3: So yeah, it's been around. I've been around it for
- 14:51Speaker 3: a long time here and then went to Arizona State
- 14:53Speaker 3: to study broadcasting journalism, and then you know, worked my
- 14:56Speaker 3: way up, worked in Denver, worked at PFF over there
- 14:58Speaker 3: in Cincinnati, and now Fantasy Life. So it's been a
- 15:01Speaker 3: really really fun journey to kind of get here.
- 15:05Speaker 1: You think that the NFL would be as popular as
- 15:08Speaker 1: it is without fantasy.
- 15:10Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I think so. But I think fantasy is
- 15:12Speaker 3: what makes you know, us stick around for those really
- 15:15Speaker 3: crappy Jets games, no offense Jets fans, but like the
- 15:17Speaker 3: Thursday nights in like late December, right where you're just like,
- 15:20Speaker 3: do I really want to watch this? And we're like sweating,
- 15:22Speaker 3: you know, a Browns game or a Texans game. It's
- 15:24Speaker 3: because we have you know, it's fantasy and betting. Like
- 15:27Speaker 3: that's what my co host Adam ronas Alway says. He's
- 15:28Speaker 3: a Cowboys fan, he hates his life, but at least
- 15:31Speaker 3: we have fantasy football and betting. So I think it
- 15:32Speaker 3: would still be, you know, popular, obviously, but I think
- 15:35Speaker 3: fantasy keeps the fandom going, especially with those bad.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Games, and it's a great gateway for us and what
- 15:40Speaker 1: we do on this show and the sports betting side
- 15:43Speaker 1: of it is that because fantasy is something like, you
- 15:45Speaker 1: could do that with your kid. You could start that
- 15:47Speaker 1: when you're ten. Nobody's gonna judge you for it. If
- 15:49Speaker 1: you've got your kids slamming point spreads at ten years old,
- 15:52Speaker 1: and people are going to look at you sideways.
- 15:54Speaker 3: A little frowned upon.
- 15:55Speaker 1: But that's okay. It's definitely helped helped us. When did
- 15:58Speaker 1: you start stucky? What was your first You remember your
- 16:01Speaker 1: first fantasy team?
- 16:03Speaker 2: My first fantasy now, I mean it was just really.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Yeah, you were doing fantasy when you were in diapers.
- 16:07Speaker 2: If I had to guess the first fantasy team, I
- 16:12Speaker 2: remember my first bet, my first bets, I mean he
- 16:16Speaker 2: was in high school. I mean I always did fantasy
- 16:18Speaker 2: dress with my high school friends. Yeah, so I mean
- 16:22Speaker 2: we're talking that was my birthday yesterday, so we're talking
- 16:26Speaker 2: twenty plus years ago generously. So yeah, that I we did.
- 16:34Speaker 2: I'm trying to think if we had. Yeah, we did
- 16:39Speaker 2: like a board where I did a couple with a
- 16:42Speaker 2: with a like you know, manually with just like a
- 16:44Speaker 2: big board and you write it up. But yeah, I've
- 16:48Speaker 2: been doing doing fantasy forever. I'm really interesting. I haven't
- 16:51Speaker 2: done any guillotine leagues, but for those not familiar, It's
- 16:54Speaker 2: like they look interesting to me because I can just
- 16:58Speaker 2: I'll get eliminated early and then not have to worry
- 17:00Speaker 2: about them. But for people not familiar, do you want
- 17:04Speaker 2: to just explain them real quick and then talk about
- 17:06Speaker 2: Like the different mindset of howroach.
- 17:09Speaker 3: Guillotine leagues is amazing because like if again, if you're
- 17:12Speaker 3: just starting, or if you know anything about fantasy football,
- 17:15Speaker 3: you almost like throw it out the door with with
- 17:17Speaker 3: guillotine leagues, Like anything you think you know about fantasy
- 17:19Speaker 3: football doesn't necessarily always apply to guillotine leagus. So you've got,
- 17:23Speaker 3: you know, eighteen eighteen weeks, you go the full season,
- 17:26Speaker 3: and what you do in this kind of format is
- 17:29Speaker 3: you draft. You've got no bench spots, so you can
- 17:32Speaker 3: you know, set it differently, but you know, you have
- 17:34Speaker 3: no bench spots, so every single player that you draft
- 17:36Speaker 3: you have to they play. And so the one thing
- 17:39Speaker 3: here though, is that when you're eliminated, if you have
- 17:41Speaker 3: the lowest score of the week, it's really just survive
- 17:43Speaker 3: in advance, and so you don't have to necessarily win
- 17:46Speaker 3: and be the you know, highest scoring player that single week,
- 17:49Speaker 3: but you don't want to be the lowest because then
- 17:51Speaker 3: your team is done. You get chopped is what we
- 17:53Speaker 3: call it, and then all of your players get put
- 17:56Speaker 3: back into the pools so people can bid on them, uh,
- 18:00Speaker 3: you know throughout waivers and stuff. So it's this crazy
- 18:03Speaker 3: thing where you know, you could have a super team,
- 18:05Speaker 3: but one week, you know, Patrick Mahomes goes down, Derek
- 18:07Speaker 3: Henry doesn't score you, you know, thirty plus fantasy points,
- 18:10Speaker 3: and all of a sudden you're looking around like, wow,
- 18:12Speaker 3: I am actually going to get chopped here. And then
- 18:13Speaker 3: the fun part is bidding on those players that go
- 18:15Speaker 3: back into the pool. So it's a super fun way
- 18:18Speaker 3: to do it, so different from just like regular fantasy football,
- 18:21Speaker 3: and I high We've got guillotine leagues dot com. I
- 18:24Speaker 3: highly recommend it. We've got those already started, so you
- 18:26Speaker 3: guys can go and start drafting on those. But it
- 18:28Speaker 3: is so much fun.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Well traditional league's most people do them still. When you
- 18:34Speaker 2: go into them this year, do you have one two
- 18:37Speaker 2: part question? Do you have a favorite position that you
- 18:40Speaker 2: get that you're like yes, and or a favorite player
- 18:44Speaker 2: that you come out of the first round with where
- 18:46Speaker 2: you're like yes.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Oh the first round, well, so my, oh my. The
- 18:50Speaker 3: one thing that's different in my rankings, which you guys
- 18:52Speaker 3: can see at fantasylife dot com, is that I've got
- 18:54Speaker 3: Bijon Robinson is my one oh one, not just RB one.
- 18:57Speaker 3: It's gonna be between Jim, but you know, between Jami
- 18:59Speaker 3: or gibbsbe Jehn Robinson. If you're drafting in the first
- 19:01Speaker 3: round and you've got the one of the first two picks, like,
- 19:03Speaker 3: don't overthink it. You're going to have a great season
- 19:06Speaker 3: with Jamir Gibbs or Bijon. But I just I just
- 19:09Speaker 3: like Bjeon Robinson. I like the idea that you know
- 19:12Speaker 3: he's gonna maybe potentially catch more a little bit more passes.
- 19:15Speaker 3: But it's really just like it's a coin flip between
- 19:18Speaker 3: the two. I think more people are going to lean
- 19:19Speaker 3: to Jamior Gibbs because the offense is just overall better
- 19:22Speaker 3: than what the Atlanta Falcons are going to do. But
- 19:25Speaker 3: Bjeon Robinson, like he has a chance to go for
- 19:27Speaker 3: a thousand and one thousand and So it's one of
- 19:29Speaker 3: these things where I've just stuck with it since the
- 19:31Speaker 3: beginning of the season and I haven't done anything to
- 19:33Speaker 3: move it. So Bjon Robinson is like my favorite player
- 19:36Speaker 3: in the first round, but I think you really can't
- 19:38Speaker 3: go wrong with Jamar Chase. Joe Burrow is one of
- 19:40Speaker 3: my most drafted quarterbacks this season. And then I'll say,
- 19:43Speaker 3: like Aman Ross, Saint Browns, Ceedee Lamb, James Cook, Ashton Genty.
- 19:46Speaker 3: I'm naming like six guys out of the twelve that
- 19:48Speaker 3: you could pick from, but like they're really good guys
- 19:50Speaker 3: in the back half of the first round that I
- 19:52Speaker 3: think you will not be sorry that you picked up,
- 19:55Speaker 3: especially like James Cook, Ashton Geni's back there too.
- 19:58Speaker 1: What about team build? I find myself really gravitating towards
- 20:03Speaker 1: the running backs. I was always in the old school
- 20:06Speaker 1: camp you got to get your running backs early, and
- 20:08Speaker 1: then we started to see that transition to heavier passing offenses,
- 20:11Speaker 1: and I started to make that switch, like I got
- 20:13Speaker 1: to get the elite wide receiver and then we'll fill
- 20:15Speaker 1: out running backs later. I think I'm back to the
- 20:17Speaker 1: old school mentality where I've got to get these top
- 20:20Speaker 1: tier backs first, and I find myself pushing guys like
- 20:23Speaker 1: James Cook and ash Jingenty a few slots higher than
- 20:27Speaker 1: I think I see them in the ADP. How do
- 20:29Speaker 1: you think the best way to fill out that early
- 20:31Speaker 1: portion of your roster.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Is Listen, if you haven't drafted yet, you're gonna get
- 20:35Speaker 3: on there and be like, wait, what the heck, what
- 20:37Speaker 3: year is this? Because like all the running backs are
- 20:39Speaker 3: being pushed up. You've got six running backs going in
- 20:42Speaker 3: the first round, and you've got seven going in the second.
- 20:44Speaker 3: So it's almost this because running backs have stayed relatively
- 20:47Speaker 3: healthy and they have been a huge part of fantasy
- 20:49Speaker 3: football over the last two seasons. So now we're kind
- 20:51Speaker 3: of correcting it and we're saying, Okay, zero or B
- 20:53Speaker 3: isn't in fashion anymore where we could have just waited
- 20:56Speaker 3: till the fifth round to get our first running back.
- 20:58Speaker 3: So that's my favorite way to build right now too.
- 21:00Speaker 3: Obviously the board has to fall your way, but like
- 21:03Speaker 3: anchor our B approach, where you're just exactly how it sounds,
- 21:05Speaker 3: you're anchoring your team to one elite, workhorse running back.
- 21:08Speaker 3: That's the thing that I tell people is that they
- 21:10Speaker 3: need to be elite. Like you can hope the best
- 21:12Speaker 3: for Jeremiah Love, but that is not like you don't
- 21:15Speaker 3: want to anchor your team necessarily to him. I think
- 21:17Speaker 3: he's gonna have a great season, but when we're talking
- 21:19Speaker 3: anchor RB. It's an elite guy, you know, Derrick Henry,
- 21:22Speaker 3: the guys that's going to get a ton of touches,
- 21:24Speaker 3: Jonathan Taylor, v John Robinson, Jamier Gibbs. And so when
- 21:27Speaker 3: you do it that way, you hammer home the wide
- 21:29Speaker 3: receivers after that. That's how I like to do it,
- 21:31Speaker 3: is like getting three elite wide receivers. Maybe you pay
- 21:34Speaker 3: up at the onesie position at the tight end spot,
- 21:36Speaker 3: and then you come back around with your second running
- 21:39Speaker 3: back in the fifth or sixth round. Like that's my
- 21:41Speaker 3: favorite way to do it because I think there's just
- 21:44Speaker 3: such a drop off and talent with the wide receiver
- 21:46Speaker 3: spot where you get to a point where there's so
- 21:48Speaker 3: many guys with some like mildly red flags or base
- 21:51Speaker 3: flags or you know, you look around and you're like, nah,
- 21:52Speaker 3: this is a lot of mouths to feed. Are they
- 21:54Speaker 3: really going to be able to come out on top?
- 21:55Speaker 3: So that's my favorite build right now is anchor RB.
- 21:59Speaker 3: Sometimes if you're in the bet half, you could maybe
- 22:01Speaker 3: you know, get James Cook Saquon Barkley. But if you
- 22:03Speaker 3: do that, do not touch the running back position for
- 22:05Speaker 3: like a really long time. I'm talking like tenth round.
- 22:07Speaker 3: You don't need to get your third running back until then.
- 22:11Speaker 2: You have any strong stances or takes on any of
- 22:15Speaker 2: the crowded wide receiver rooms. So packers come to mind.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Also Jaguars, Like I the Jaguars is very interesting because
- 22:21Speaker 2: you have, you know, three receivers that you know what's
- 22:23Speaker 2: hunter going to be. Then they have strange and they
- 22:25Speaker 2: drafted two tight end so how much more multi tight
- 22:28Speaker 2: end stets are they going to use? Do you have
- 22:30Speaker 2: any strong takes or stances on how you're approaching any
- 22:33Speaker 2: of the receivers in those rooms.
- 22:34Speaker 3: I'm trying, and this is this is going to be
- 22:37Speaker 3: like kind of a two part because my easy answer
- 22:39Speaker 3: is that we do so many drafts that I'm just
- 22:41Speaker 3: going to be taking stabs on all of them. If
- 22:43Speaker 3: you're in a traditional you know, you do two drafts
- 22:45Speaker 3: a year or whatever it may be, which is fantastic.
- 22:48Speaker 3: I think the answer that's really crappy is like, we
- 22:50Speaker 3: have no idea how it's going to look. And so
- 22:53Speaker 3: the player that I've actually drafted the most from Jacksonville
- 22:56Speaker 3: is Brian Thomas Junior. And maybe it's because I like
- 22:59Speaker 3: pain and being hurt, and last season he was the
- 23:01Speaker 3: guy that I took at the one two turn and
- 23:02Speaker 3: it was awful. But like to me, I look at
- 23:05Speaker 3: Brian Thomas Juner and I say, well, his ad aunt,
- 23:08Speaker 3: his average s up of the target was insane last season.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Is that is that role going to stick? I think
- 23:11Speaker 3: Parker Washington is still a really good player. I know
- 23:14Speaker 3: some people have said, like, is Parker Washington the Michael
- 23:17Speaker 3: Wilson you know, the Arizona Cardinals Michael Wilson of this
- 23:19Speaker 3: team And I don't think so. I think Parker Washington's
- 23:21Speaker 3: going to be able to give them, you know, the
- 23:24Speaker 3: performance that he did last season for a whole year.
- 23:26Speaker 3: But I just I don't know. I can't quit Brian
- 23:28Speaker 3: Thomas Junior. There were drops, there were mental things that
- 23:30Speaker 3: he was going through, injuries as well. So I want
- 23:32Speaker 3: to believe that that marriage between him and this Liam
- 23:35Speaker 3: Cohen offense with Trevor Lawrence is going to work. But overall,
- 23:39Speaker 3: I've taken BTJ the most and then Parker Washington, And
- 23:42Speaker 3: like you said, Brenton Strange is going to get involved.
- 23:44Speaker 3: We've got him projected all for one hundred plus targets,
- 23:47Speaker 3: like all three of them. So this could be a
- 23:49Speaker 3: situation in Jacksonville where at the end of the day
- 23:51Speaker 3: we look back and we say, dang, we took too
- 23:54Speaker 3: many of these players and this actually just ended up
- 23:56Speaker 3: being the Packers of this division where they just spread
- 23:58Speaker 3: the ball around. Same thing with the Packers. I've been
- 24:00Speaker 3: taking the most Jayden Reid because he's cheap, cheaper than
- 24:03Speaker 3: Christian Watson. But I don't know if they're really going
- 24:06Speaker 3: to have this alpha alpha target earner. I think they're
- 24:08Speaker 3: still going to spread the ball around, but at least
- 24:10Speaker 3: it's a little bit more condensed without d'antavian rick Wick's
- 24:13Speaker 3: Romeo Dobbs there. So it's like a horrible because it's like,
- 24:16Speaker 3: I don't know, we've got him projected so close together
- 24:19Speaker 3: too where and I don't even know if training camp's
- 24:21Speaker 3: going to really give us an answer that we want either.
- 24:23Speaker 3: It's probably gonna be week one and we sit back,
- 24:25Speaker 3: we say, ah, that's how they're gonna do it.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, it's muddy. Are we still drafting Travis Hunter?
- 24:31Speaker 1: Is like, I'm not convinced that they're gonna play him
- 24:33Speaker 1: that much on offense, but they refuse to admit it
- 24:36Speaker 1: out loud.
- 24:37Speaker 4: No.
- 24:37Speaker 3: I know, Well, because they hate our fantasy teams. Like,
- 24:39Speaker 3: I'm still drafting Travis Hunter at cost because last year
- 24:43Speaker 3: you were taking him really early like he was he
- 24:46Speaker 3: was a third round pick. I think he got steamed
- 24:49Speaker 3: up even maybe earlier than that, depending on who you
- 24:51Speaker 3: were drafting with. So like the idea there is like
- 24:53Speaker 3: don't hate the player, hate the ADP. And so last
- 24:56Speaker 3: year I was priced out of Hunter, thank goodness because
- 24:58Speaker 3: obviously it didn't work out. Still drafting him because he's
- 25:01Speaker 3: going outside the top one one hundred and twenty picks,
- 25:03Speaker 3: so it's not necessarily someone that can sink your league
- 25:05Speaker 3: like where he was at last season, but I'm with you,
- 25:08Speaker 3: I don't and if if Travis Hunter has a role,
- 25:10Speaker 3: you know who really gets hurt is Parker Washington because
- 25:12Speaker 3: that really coincides with Parker Washington having a really great
- 25:15Speaker 3: year last season is when Travis Hunter went down without
- 25:18Speaker 3: unfortunate injury. So it's one of those push and pull situations.
- 25:21Speaker 3: I'm gonna draft him again. It's a lot easier in
- 25:23Speaker 3: best ball because you won't have to wonder when to
- 25:25Speaker 3: start him either. But yeah, his price is a lot
- 25:28Speaker 3: better this year.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Well, speaking of potential flyers, do you have any late
- 25:33Speaker 2: round flyers, and in particular, if you want to touch
- 25:36Speaker 2: on one or two potential late round rookies that you.
- 25:40Speaker 3: Think, okay, shine, yeah, I've got man. The rookie class
- 25:44Speaker 3: this year was not as fun. I felt like someone
- 25:47Speaker 3: is going to come out on top of this class,
- 25:48Speaker 3: but it wasn't. It wasn't necessarily as fun of a year.
- 25:51Speaker 3: I think one of my late late round guys at
- 25:54Speaker 3: the tight end spot is chickacong Wo. And we can
- 25:56Speaker 3: totally delete this if this team goes out and signs
- 25:58Speaker 3: another wide receiver, because I think that it's a different
- 26:01Speaker 3: conversation for the commanders. But I love Chicka kon Quo.
- 26:04Speaker 3: I think that if we're looking around and we're saying
- 26:07Speaker 3: it's Terry McLaurin, Antonio Williams, it's just two parts to
- 26:10Speaker 3: your question. Is one of my favorite other late round
- 26:12Speaker 3: rookie wide receivers that you can go and get. But
- 26:15Speaker 3: to me, Chiga kon Quo came over here and he
- 26:17Speaker 3: hasn't had a really good quarterback like Jayden Daniels, like
- 26:20Speaker 3: we can look at him and I think Ryan Tannehill
- 26:22Speaker 3: was the last quarterback in my notes that I saw
- 26:25Speaker 3: that like had an on target throw percentage that was
- 26:27Speaker 3: better than like twenty fifth, and so to me, I
- 26:30Speaker 3: think Chiga Konko is a yat guy. He's yards after
- 26:32Speaker 3: contact guy, he's fast, and the way that they utilized
- 26:35Speaker 3: zach Ertz last season, even though it's a new OC
- 26:37Speaker 3: coming in, we could maybe expect a little bit of
- 26:40Speaker 3: a difference there, but they were peppering zach Ertz with targets,
- 26:42Speaker 3: and so I think Chicka Konko has an opportunity, especially
- 26:46Speaker 3: at the beginning where we see rookies really take a
- 26:48Speaker 3: little while unless they're a mechic Buca to come onto
- 26:51Speaker 3: the scene. So he could be their number two pass
- 26:53Speaker 3: catcher in this offense. So I love chickacon Quo. Antonio
- 26:58Speaker 3: Williams again, another late round rookie wide receiver that you
- 27:01Speaker 3: can pay attention to. And then there's just like sprinkles
- 27:04Speaker 3: of little rookie running backs here, Like I love Nicholas Singleton.
- 27:08Speaker 3: He's over in Tennessee. I think for him to have
- 27:10Speaker 3: a role though it would take an injury, but Tony
- 27:12Speaker 3: Pollard's another year older and Tajay Spears hasn't been able
- 27:15Speaker 3: to stay healthy. So I love Nicholas Singleton, He's he's
- 27:18Speaker 3: probably one of my most drafted rookie. Yeah, running backs
- 27:22Speaker 3: over there, and so those are probably Antonio Williams Nicholas
- 27:25Speaker 3: Singleton are my two most drafted rookies, and then Chicka
- 27:28Speaker 3: Kong was my favorite late round guy.
- 27:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't mind looking at the Washington looks because I, yeah,
- 27:34Speaker 2: don't see much hope for that defense. So they could
- 27:37Speaker 2: be in a lot of shootouts once again.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Exactly, and like the OC stuff, I know people are
- 27:43Speaker 3: nervous about that because we just haven't seen it. But
- 27:45Speaker 3: at the end of the day, I think hopefully they're
- 27:47Speaker 3: just they just look around and they're like, well, we
- 27:49Speaker 3: have Jayden Daniels and Jaden Daniels was able to do
- 27:51Speaker 3: this without much help with like not a ton of weapons.
- 27:54Speaker 3: Two years ago when it was his rookie season, it
- 27:56Speaker 3: was Terry McLaurin who had an insane amount of touchdown
- 27:59Speaker 3: So I think I think he can do it again.
- 28:00Speaker 3: Even though it wasn't like the best off season for them,
- 28:03Speaker 3: I think he can work.
- 28:04Speaker 1: It does seem like we haven't gotten the discount on
- 28:06Speaker 1: Jaden Daniels I thought we'd get because he was pretty
- 28:09Speaker 1: bad last year on top of the injuries. But even
- 28:12Speaker 1: when he played, he wasn't as sensational as he was
- 28:15Speaker 1: as a rookie. And I'm seeing him drafted right alongside
- 28:18Speaker 1: Joe Burrow. I see completely different paths for those guys,
- 28:22Speaker 1: especially with the weapons they have. Why have we not
- 28:25Speaker 1: gotten that discount on Jaden Daniels.
- 28:28Speaker 3: Because he uses it, Because we love dual threat guys.
- 28:32Speaker 3: He uses his legs. I mean, that's the only thing, Like,
- 28:34Speaker 3: that's the thing that can set you apart. We can
- 28:36Speaker 3: say that, you know, he didn't look at and even
- 28:38Speaker 3: some of the passing metrics. He wasn't necessarily on the
- 28:41Speaker 3: top of his game, but it was because he was injured.
- 28:43Speaker 3: As a rookie, he was on fifty three percent of
- 28:46Speaker 3: ESPN playoff rosters. So anyone that can give you the
- 28:49Speaker 3: dual threat ability is going to be someone that is
- 28:52Speaker 3: just steamed up. Like except for Joe Burrow, who you know,
- 28:55Speaker 3: gets drafted inside the top five or six, depending on
- 28:58Speaker 3: what platform you're on. But that's because he's an elite
- 29:00Speaker 3: pastorer and we know that they're usually going to be
- 29:02Speaker 3: playing from behind, so that matters there. But yeah, Jayden Daniels,
- 29:06Speaker 3: I mean I think you know he's given us an
- 29:08Speaker 3: average across twenty three games at least eighty percent of
- 29:11Speaker 3: the snaps twenty two point three fantasy points per game,
- 29:13Speaker 3: and that's something that you can't ignore. And you know
- 29:15Speaker 3: that if they're if nothing's there over in the air,
- 29:18Speaker 3: for Terry McLaurin, he's just going to tuck it and run.
- 29:20Speaker 3: And I don't think no matter how many offensive coordinators
- 29:23Speaker 3: you have that change your team, they know that that's
- 29:25Speaker 3: going to be kind of their bread and butter there.
- 29:27Speaker 3: So you're now, unfortunately, you're not going to get discounts
- 29:30Speaker 3: on guys like that. I think the one this year
- 29:32Speaker 3: that has more of a discount than I expected was
- 29:35Speaker 3: Jackson Dart cause he's kind of the same way Jackson
- 29:38Speaker 3: Dart through the year was able to get things done.
- 29:40Speaker 3: It wasn't necessarily the prettiest, but you didn't have Molik
- 29:42Speaker 3: neighbors there, and then he was also able to give
- 29:44Speaker 3: you something on the ground. But I think people are
- 29:46Speaker 3: a little bit more nervous that maybe they don't let
- 29:49Speaker 3: him run as much just because of all the concussions
- 29:51Speaker 3: and how wildly free he was when he was running
- 29:54Speaker 3: and just trying to get those extra yards and like,
- 29:56Speaker 3: you know, lowering his head. So that's the one that
- 29:58Speaker 3: surprises me the most is I thought he was going
- 30:00Speaker 3: to be a little bit more expensive this year, but
- 30:02Speaker 3: he's not.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Is there a coaching change that impacts fantasy values in
- 30:06Speaker 1: a big way that might be overlooked. And we've got
- 30:08Speaker 1: Mike McDaniel now with the Chargers, and we've got guys
- 30:12Speaker 1: that have also exited. The Goobiac not being in Seattle
- 30:16Speaker 1: anymore has me a little worried about the Seahawks. And
- 30:20Speaker 1: if Kevin Petula is not in Philadelphia, that should help
- 30:23Speaker 1: the Eagles. What are the ones that you're looking at
- 30:27Speaker 1: positively negatively for fantasy?
- 30:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I think the obvious one here is the Chargers
- 30:33Speaker 3: because Mike McDaniel is so damn good, Like he is
- 30:36Speaker 3: so creative, he knows exactly what he wants to do
- 30:38Speaker 3: with his running backs, and so I think people are
- 30:40Speaker 3: making them one for once, right, Marion Hampton's going to
- 30:43Speaker 3: be devon a chan You're going to be able to
- 30:45Speaker 3: have a huge season from Lad McConkey. And it makes
- 30:47Speaker 3: them expensive, Like Quentin Johnson is getting steamed up to
- 30:51Speaker 3: levels where I'm not even I can't even go there. Like,
- 30:54Speaker 3: I can't draft Quentin Johnson the sixth round. I just
- 30:57Speaker 3: really can't find myself doing it. But everyone is so
- 31:00Speaker 3: excited about Mike McDaniel and what he can bring to
- 31:02Speaker 3: this team. Justin Herbert has shown flashes before, hasn't you know,
- 31:05Speaker 3: I don't know, hasn't won in a playoff game. But
- 31:07Speaker 3: he's still one of those guys that can be the
- 31:09Speaker 3: dual threat archetype that we like for fantasy football. And
- 31:11Speaker 3: so that's the one that's going to be interesting because
- 31:15Speaker 3: that'll sink a lot of teams, like if they are
- 31:16Speaker 3: not good or for whatever reason, you know, it doesn't
- 31:19Speaker 3: click right away. It's really gonna hurt some people. But
- 31:21Speaker 3: I'm still believing, like it's it's Mike McDaniel, and so
- 31:25Speaker 3: I think that things are gonna be fine there. Yeah, Seattle, Seattle.
- 31:28Speaker 3: I'm not necessarily worried about Seattle. I think the you know,
- 31:31Speaker 3: not to go back to the Giants, But I do think,
- 31:33Speaker 3: you know, John Harbaugh, Matt Naggy as some people spooked
- 31:36Speaker 3: because Matt Naggy is not necessarily the greatest coaching mind
- 31:40Speaker 3: in the world, especially for us in fantasy football. So
- 31:43Speaker 3: I worry about that one and then I think a
- 31:44Speaker 3: sneaky one is just the Tennessee Titans. Not necessarily that's
- 31:49Speaker 3: more in dynasty if you're buying into them. But I
- 31:51Speaker 3: do think Robert Sala Brian Dable as an offensive coordinator
- 31:54Speaker 3: over there can help Kim Ward really step up in
- 31:56Speaker 3: the second year. And he needs some Yeah, he he
- 32:00Speaker 3: needs a lot, but just continuity though he needs to
- 32:02Speaker 3: be able to stick with these guys for a few
- 32:04Speaker 3: years to see it. So drafting Carnel Tate, I don't
- 32:06Speaker 3: think is a bad idea. Getting one of the running
- 32:09Speaker 3: backs Tony Pollard, not necessarily again the sexiest name, but
- 32:12Speaker 3: someone that can at least give you some consistency out there.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Robert Sala and Dable are like Lombardi and Glad ref
- 32:22Speaker 2: for compared to what Brian Callahan was doing their last year.
- 32:25Speaker 3: Yeah, well that's what I'm saying. It was so bad,
- 32:27Speaker 3: and some people are like, that's why I say too,
- 32:29Speaker 3: Like short term memory is important in fantasy because you
- 32:31Speaker 3: guys played every year and it's like it's so hard
- 32:34Speaker 3: sometimes to just like say, this guy's burned me for
- 32:37Speaker 3: five years. I did it with Kyle Pitts last year,
- 32:38Speaker 3: and I actually got burned because I was like, I'm
- 32:40Speaker 3: not going back to Kyle Pitts, like he stinks it's
- 32:42Speaker 3: never gonna happen. And then the end of last year,
- 32:44Speaker 3: I was like, dang, I should have just looked at
- 32:46Speaker 3: him at his price and said why not. So it's
- 32:48Speaker 3: like really important to have some kind of short term
- 32:50Speaker 3: memory there.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Yeah, that's very applicable to betting too. It's like you've
- 32:53Speaker 2: bet speaking to the Titans, who have burned me more
- 32:57Speaker 2: than any other team, and.
- 32:58Speaker 1: I don't know if short term boards is help them
- 33:00Speaker 1: for a couple of years with them.
- 33:01Speaker 2: Well, I guess yeah, short of memory hasn't helped me there,
- 33:03Speaker 2: but uh yeah, like if team burns you a couple
- 33:06Speaker 2: of weeks in a row and then you like them again,
- 33:08Speaker 2: and it's it's hard to pull the trigger. Is there
- 33:12Speaker 2: a player where you essentially have to someone would have
- 33:17Speaker 2: to like back you into a corner, put a gun
- 33:19Speaker 2: to your head for you to draft and you just
- 33:21Speaker 2: hope have zero exposure of going into the season compared
- 33:25Speaker 2: to like where they're being drafted and where you value them,
- 33:27Speaker 2: or like you're just worried about their situation or or injury.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Is there someone like you just see yourself avoiding even
- 33:34Speaker 2: though they're available.
- 33:35Speaker 3: That's a really interesting question.
- 33:37Speaker 1: I like, I do also love the idea of somebody
- 33:40Speaker 1: trying to rob me and then asking me to draft
- 33:43Speaker 1: a bad fantasy like give me JK.
- 33:45Speaker 3: Dobbins, and I'm like, you're fine, literally, please take jab
- 33:48Speaker 3: like I would say, probably the probably the Broncos. And
- 33:51Speaker 3: this is like a little bit of a caveat because
- 33:53Speaker 3: I draft so many teams that eventually I'm going to
- 33:56Speaker 3: take one or two, you know, one or two of them.
- 33:57Speaker 3: But I said that last year and I didn't draft CMC.
- 34:00Speaker 3: Like I always like to tell be transparent when you're wrong,
- 34:02Speaker 3: and I was like, I'm not going to draft Christian
- 34:04Speaker 3: McCaffrey what if he gets hurt. And I'm still sticking
- 34:06Speaker 3: to that today. But it is one of those things
- 34:08Speaker 3: that's a really scary fade to do it again. But
- 34:10Speaker 3: based on the touch, he was the only cod Niner
- 34:12Speaker 3: that's say to stay healthy somehow, which is so odd,
- 34:14Speaker 3: Like I don't know what kind of like magic happened there. Well,
- 34:17Speaker 3: he went over to Europe to get some you know,
- 34:19Speaker 3: treatments done on his legs, and so I don't know
- 34:21Speaker 3: if that was something that helped. But I will say
- 34:24Speaker 3: players that I'll have on zero teams are more than
- 34:27Speaker 3: likely close to it. It is probably like JK. Dobbins,
- 34:29Speaker 3: and I'll put the Broncos backfield as a whole on
- 34:32Speaker 3: that one because they're just like to me, JK. Dobbins.
- 34:37Speaker 3: And it's so tough because I just said, you want
- 34:38Speaker 3: to have short term memory, but I think when a
- 34:40Speaker 3: player shows you who unfortunately they are in terms of injuries,
- 34:44Speaker 3: it's really tough to look at him and say, well,
- 34:46Speaker 3: he hasn't been able to stay healthy for a full season,
- 34:49Speaker 3: and so I think at the price that he's going
- 34:50Speaker 3: right now. For others, if they want to get on board,
- 34:52Speaker 3: I think that's totally fine. But to me, you know,
- 34:55Speaker 3: when you are only going to be able to maybe
- 34:57Speaker 3: have them four seven to ten games. Last year he
- 35:00Speaker 3: gave us ten games and he was solid during that,
- 35:01Speaker 3: but it's never been a full season for him, so
- 35:04Speaker 3: it's unfortunate. But like that's one of the guys JK. Dobbins, RJ. Harvey,
- 35:07Speaker 3: I don't think was you know, very very good over
- 35:10Speaker 3: there either. So the Broncos backfield as a whole is
- 35:13Speaker 3: one that I'm just going to avoid. They also, you know,
- 35:15Speaker 3: they mix in Jalia McLoughlin and stuff like that. So
- 35:19Speaker 3: if you want a rookie that you can get late,
- 35:21Speaker 3: if you just want a piece of it, it's Jonah Coleman.
- 35:24Speaker 3: But yeah, that's when I'm not gonna have. Honestly, Ricky Piersoll.
- 35:27Speaker 3: I've not drafted Ricky Piersoll ever, and I'm probably just
- 35:29Speaker 3: gonna keep the trend the same because I just he's
- 35:31Speaker 3: also someone that unfortunate gunshot injury. Uh when was that now,
- 35:35Speaker 3: last year, two years ago, whatever it was. And then
- 35:37Speaker 3: he also though was injured in college, and so I
- 35:40Speaker 3: know that people are you know, it's a great story
- 35:42Speaker 3: and everything, but he's one of those guys that I
- 35:44Speaker 3: just I don't necessarily like him, especially now that Mike
- 35:47Speaker 3: Evans is over there. It looks like George Kittle's going
- 35:48Speaker 3: to be able to start the year. You've got CMC
- 35:51Speaker 3: who magically stayed healthy last season as well. So those
- 35:54Speaker 3: are probably the big, you know, the big groups. Ricky
- 35:56Speaker 3: Pearson and then the Broncos backfield are the ones that
- 35:58Speaker 3: I'm gonna avoid, right, you know.
- 36:00Speaker 2: The Broncos my favorite This is deep, deep, deep sleeper.
- 36:03Speaker 2: But and maybe more for you know, longer term leagues.
- 36:08Speaker 2: But I'm a big fan of the potential of Justin
- 36:11Speaker 2: Joelie the tight end. Oh yeah, the Broncos took Ingram
- 36:14Speaker 2: had at Ingram's back, it's gonna be thirty two if
- 36:18Speaker 2: and Jolie was. I mean, he basically played like a
- 36:20Speaker 2: slot receiver a lot with NC State. He is a
- 36:23Speaker 2: tremendous pass catcher. Got hurt at the end of last year,
- 36:26Speaker 2: which I think caused him to drop in the draft.
- 36:28Speaker 2: But if Peyton, I mean, like Ingram gets hurt, he's
- 36:32Speaker 2: just he's not as productive as he once was. Yeah,
- 36:34Speaker 2: there's potential there with Peyton unlocking him in like that
- 36:37Speaker 2: that joker role.
- 36:38Speaker 3: Yeah, and we we so at Fantasy life dot Com.
- 36:41Speaker 3: We've got the rookie supermodel from Dway McFarland who does
- 36:44Speaker 3: an amazing job. And when he was breaking down Joe Lee.
- 36:47Speaker 3: It was so interesting because I think there were so
- 36:49Speaker 3: many tight ends taking in the draft this this past year.
- 36:52Speaker 3: I think it was like twenty It ended up being
- 36:54Speaker 3: twenty two or something like that, like something crazy. So
- 36:56Speaker 3: we're not only seeing this shift where you're seeing more
- 36:59Speaker 3: of that usage, but you know, it makes people like
- 37:02Speaker 3: Justin Joelee kind of go under the radar where you're
- 37:04Speaker 3: just like, oh, well, they're just drafting them so they
- 37:05Speaker 3: can be a blocking tight end, and that's like not justin.
- 37:07Speaker 3: Joee also has like the skill set and the capability.
- 37:10Speaker 3: It's just if yeah, you said it, it's just if
- 37:12Speaker 3: they want to utilize him like that. Again, Sean Payton
- 37:15Speaker 3: hates our fantasy teams. Evan Ingram. They told us three
- 37:17Speaker 3: years ago was going to be the Joker and everyone
- 37:19Speaker 3: was drafting him and then it was like sadness and despair.
- 37:22Speaker 3: But yeah, I like the call, especially in Dynasty. If
- 37:25Speaker 3: you're not if you haven't done your Dynasty draft yet,
- 37:28Speaker 3: there's there. Honestly, I think when you get to the
- 37:30Speaker 3: sixth pick in one of those drafts, or even I'll
- 37:32Speaker 3: push it to the eighth after that, just go with
- 37:35Speaker 3: guys you like, because at some point you're gonna look
- 37:37Speaker 3: around and say, are these guys really?
- 37:38Speaker 1: Like?
- 37:38Speaker 3: The path for a lot of these rookies coming in
- 37:40Speaker 3: is so tough. So if you are in a tight
- 37:42Speaker 3: end premium league and you're looking around and you need
- 37:44Speaker 3: one of those guys, like, I think that's a really
- 37:46Speaker 3: good call out.
- 37:48Speaker 1: Well what about a more obvious option inside of the
- 37:50Speaker 1: Denver Broncos offense. Like a new addition in Jalen Wattle.
- 37:55Speaker 1: I feel like I'm not seeing or hearing a lot
- 37:58Speaker 1: of buzz around him as a potential number one target
- 38:03Speaker 1: for bon Nicks. Am I just missing it or is it?
- 38:07Speaker 1: Is it not there? Usually we like the guys that
- 38:09Speaker 1: are old face in a new place.
- 38:11Speaker 3: I can tell you right now like he's he's going
- 38:13Speaker 3: to be the number one target earner, and in this offense,
- 38:16Speaker 3: I think I think what people probably has people scared
- 38:19Speaker 3: is maybe Bonigs and again Sean Payton, especially in fantasy.
- 38:22Speaker 3: But Jalen Wattle, like what he was able to do
- 38:26Speaker 3: when he was in Miami, he had not necessarily the
- 38:29Speaker 3: best quarterback in the world, and then he had Tyreek
- 38:31Speaker 3: Hill at some point still ahead of him, and he
- 38:33Speaker 3: was able to give you some fantasy goodness there. So
- 38:36Speaker 3: I think Jalen Wattle is going to be like the
- 38:38Speaker 3: target earner that you want in this offense. He's projected
- 38:41Speaker 3: for us to have over one hundred and fifteen targets. Now,
- 38:44Speaker 3: I will say on the other side, Courtland Sutton still
- 38:46Speaker 3: projected to have one hundred over there, but Courtland Sutton's
- 38:48Speaker 3: you know, a year older. And I'm looking at Jalen
- 38:50Speaker 3: Wattle as someone that averaged seventy five receptions a little
- 38:53Speaker 3: over one thousand yards in his five years in Miami,
- 38:56Speaker 3: And so there's a there's a quarterback upgrade. There's just
- 39:00Speaker 3: and off. I struggled too though to say offensive upgrade,
- 39:03Speaker 3: because we know how good Mike McDaniel is. But I
- 39:05Speaker 3: do think there's something there where you have to look
- 39:06Speaker 3: at the targets and the volume and say to yourself, well,
- 39:09Speaker 3: this should probably work. And this team was really good
- 39:11Speaker 3: last year, like they were a broken ankle away from
- 39:14Speaker 3: going to the super Bowl probably, And it's just one
- 39:16Speaker 3: of those things where it's not I think it's not
- 39:18Speaker 3: the sexiest name. He's wide receiver sixteen for me in
- 39:21Speaker 3: my rankings, so he's not inside the top twelve. But
- 39:23Speaker 3: someone that can earn a ton of targets in an
- 39:25Speaker 3: offense that could yeah, be ascending. I like him.
- 39:28Speaker 1: It should be much more efficient than it was a
- 39:30Speaker 1: year ago. What about the messy backfields or even handcuffs
- 39:35Speaker 1: that you prioritize or are there some guys I was
- 39:38Speaker 1: looking I was doing some Emmett Johnson research the backup
- 39:41Speaker 1: for the Kansas City Chiefs. Speaking of those dynasty drafts,
- 39:44Speaker 1: are there guys that you feel like, hey, if you
- 39:47Speaker 1: have this stud you've got to get the backup?
- 39:50Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 39:51Speaker 3: I think you know this, Lens. I think it's really
- 39:54Speaker 3: important that if you are drafting guys that have injury
- 39:58Speaker 3: history right, that you handcuff, that you just say, hey,
- 40:01Speaker 3: if this is going to work out, you know, I
- 40:02Speaker 3: need to make sure to do that. I think Kenneth
- 40:04Speaker 3: Walker is a perfect example of that because you know
- 40:06Speaker 3: he's missed time in Seattle. We loved him. He's an
- 40:08Speaker 3: explosive back I think the big question for him is
- 40:11Speaker 3: is he going to be able to keep up with
- 40:13Speaker 3: all the potential touches that they're going to give him.
- 40:15Speaker 3: And they're going to utilize him in the passing game too,
- 40:17Speaker 3: because they didn't add any wide receivers to this group either.
- 40:21Speaker 3: So I think it's important to handcuff, you know, when
- 40:23Speaker 3: when you need to. I think some of the interesting
- 40:26Speaker 3: ones where these backfields we have question marks is like
- 40:28Speaker 3: base Shall Tuton, right Tutin and looking at Chris Rodriguez,
- 40:32Speaker 3: and I've come around more a lot more to someone
- 40:35Speaker 3: like base Shall Tuton because at the beginning of the
- 40:37Speaker 3: year is like, well, they're brought in Chris Rodriguez and
- 40:39Speaker 3: he spent time in Kentucky with William Cohen, So how
- 40:41Speaker 3: is this going to work out? You still have la
- 40:43Speaker 3: Quinn Allen over there too, who's going to catch a
- 40:44Speaker 3: little bit of passes. But if you like him at costs,
- 40:47Speaker 3: I actually haven't drafted much base schell Tutin because paying,
- 40:50Speaker 3: you know, a round five price tag, that's not usually
- 40:52Speaker 3: how I build my teams. In those rounds. I'm usually
- 40:55Speaker 3: getting wide receivers. But he's not a bad one to
- 40:57Speaker 3: you know, throw throw something on if you want to
- 40:59Speaker 3: wait and get Chris Rodriguez. There's a huge gap between
- 41:02Speaker 3: the two. And then I'd say, like one that one
- 41:06Speaker 3: that's interesting is Tampa Bay because people have really written
- 41:09Speaker 3: Bucky Irving off and so it's a little bit messy
- 41:12Speaker 3: because it could be three guys, right, Bucky Irving, Kenneth Gainwell,
- 41:15Speaker 3: Sean Tucker, and so Kenneth Gane Weell is the one
- 41:18Speaker 3: that I'm gonna have the most exposure to because he's
- 41:20Speaker 3: going to be that pass catching running back kind of
- 41:22Speaker 3: like they were Shad White. They go ahead fill that
- 41:24Speaker 3: role for him. But if Bucky Irving stays healthy, because
- 41:27Speaker 3: he not only went through injuries last season, but he
- 41:29Speaker 3: had some you know, mental stuff going on, stuff behind
- 41:32Speaker 3: the scenes that I don't think anyone really knew what
- 41:35Speaker 3: was happening. Because these guys, at the end of the
- 41:36Speaker 3: day are just human beings, and so I think that
- 41:38Speaker 3: can take a lot away from the fields as well.
- 41:41Speaker 3: So there's this opportunity for Kenneth Gainwell to get the
- 41:43Speaker 3: pass catching work, Sean Tucker still get the goal line work.
- 41:46Speaker 3: But yeah, Bucky Irving's someone I also haven't drafted. It's
- 41:49Speaker 3: more Kenneth gane Well over there.
- 41:51Speaker 2: Speaking of running backs, are you give any thoughts on
- 41:53Speaker 2: what are you doing with Jeremiah Love. I mean you have,
- 41:56Speaker 2: first of course, about the quarterback situation. You also have
- 41:59Speaker 2: still but people compare him to the gente situation. But
- 42:03Speaker 2: Genty got a ton of the workload in Arizona. They
- 42:06Speaker 2: could be in shootouts, but they also still have Aljier
- 42:08Speaker 2: Connor Benson is still there. So what do you make
- 42:12Speaker 2: of the of Jeremiah Love going into the season.
- 42:14Speaker 3: I love Jeremiah Love at cost because I think what
- 42:17Speaker 3: people I think we're over correcting and sometimes we do
- 42:20Speaker 3: this in fantasy where we make it a one for
- 42:21Speaker 3: one situation because you're right, Ashton genty was a first
- 42:24Speaker 3: round pay last season and if you drafted him, you
- 42:27Speaker 3: got pretty burned. But he still didn't have a bad year, right,
- 42:30Speaker 3: he finished right outside the top twelve. So to me,
- 42:33Speaker 3: I love Jeremiah Love though, because at cost you're getting
- 42:36Speaker 3: him at the end of the second round, and probably
- 42:38Speaker 3: in redraft formats, like if you're going into your home legues,
- 42:40Speaker 3: you'll probably get him in the third especially if you're
- 42:42Speaker 3: drafting on ESPN. So at cost, I look at that
- 42:46Speaker 3: and I say, okay, are we drafting him close closer
- 42:48Speaker 3: to the ceiling? Like maybe, but it's way better than
- 42:51Speaker 3: getting him as the you know, RB seven or RB
- 42:54Speaker 3: eight and him finishing outside the top twelve when he's
- 42:56Speaker 3: going as the RB thirteen off the board. So I
- 42:58Speaker 3: love Jeremiah Love. I think the only thing that can
- 43:01Speaker 3: you know, kill that, and what will bring him down
- 43:03Speaker 3: is having Tyler El's year there, because like Tyler ELL's
- 43:07Speaker 3: year in Atlanta, he was stealing you know, goal line
- 43:09Speaker 3: work from Bijon and all of us were like trying
- 43:11Speaker 3: to throw things at our TVs and being like, why
- 43:13Speaker 3: the hell are they doing this? Like it's Bijon Robinson.
- 43:15Speaker 3: But I still think he could potentially have that role
- 43:18Speaker 3: here for the Cardinals. I don't know. I don't even
- 43:21Speaker 3: know if James Connor makes the team at the at
- 43:24Speaker 3: the end of this, Like, I don't know if he's
- 43:25Speaker 3: still going to even be on this roster. So I'm
- 43:27Speaker 3: not necessarily worried about the other guys, But Jeremiah Love
- 43:31Speaker 3: at cost. At some point you have to look at
- 43:32Speaker 3: that and say, well, I think the risk is baked
- 43:35Speaker 3: into this price, and so I'm going to take him.
- 43:37Speaker 3: Even though it's a bad team, even though we don't
- 43:38Speaker 3: expect him to score that much, it's still someone that's
- 43:41Speaker 3: going to get a ton of volume, and at the price. Again,
- 43:44Speaker 3: I'm just always gonna mention the price. It's the third round,
- 43:46Speaker 3: I think is a really good place to get him for,
- 43:48Speaker 3: you know, the guy that went that early in the draft.
- 43:51Speaker 1: Endyll, you have me properly hyped for my upcoming fantasy
- 43:55Speaker 1: drafts where some people Where can people find your work?

- 45:00Speaker 3: Thank you guys so much. I appreciate it.
- 45:02Speaker 1: And dol was awesome. She's got our minds firmly wrapped
- 45:05Speaker 1: around the fantasy world. So what Stucky and I are
- 45:08Speaker 1: going to do is plant our flag on a fantasy
- 45:11Speaker 1: sleeper for the twenty twenty six season. Mind flag in it.
- 45:15Speaker 2: Shut up, I'm trying to plant my flag here.
- 45:18Speaker 1: Okay, you're really planting your flag in that deck. Who
- 45:21Speaker 1: do you think is going to break out among the
- 45:22Speaker 1: guys we'll market at post round six as the as
- 45:28Speaker 1: the sleeper portion of the draft. Stucky, who you looking at?
- 45:32Speaker 2: Deep deep, deep, deep deep sleeper? I already mentioned Julie.
- 45:35Speaker 2: It's sticking with tight ends. Let's go with Greg dolcic
- 45:38Speaker 2: I I for looking at like where he's being drafted, Like,
- 45:43Speaker 2: what is it? Does he even have an adp.
- 45:47Speaker 1: Uh. He's being drafted one hundred and ninety fourth, which
- 45:51Speaker 1: let's see, that would be round sixteen, so that would
- 45:54Speaker 1: be at the very end. That'd be like he's right
- 45:56Speaker 1: around the kickers and the defenses.
- 45:58Speaker 2: Yeah, this point, I mean, that's pretty crazy to me.
- 46:00Speaker 2: For he was very efficient last year and the routes
- 46:03Speaker 2: that he did run. But for isn't there a world
- 46:05Speaker 2: where he leads the Dolphins and targets, right?
- 46:09Speaker 1: I think that that's probably not only is there a world,
- 46:12Speaker 1: I think it's the world that we're living in.
- 46:14Speaker 2: Yeah, wide receiver room. I don't think it's slowick, so
- 46:18Speaker 2: like we've seen tight ends get a lot of targets
- 46:21Speaker 2: in his offenses before the defense is probably gonna be bad.
- 46:28Speaker 2: So like, yeah, I think he's well worth a sleeper
- 46:32Speaker 2: selection in fantasy.
- 46:33Speaker 1: Drafts, basically free. I love that. I really like Blake Korhum.
- 46:38Speaker 1: This year we saw him start to steal some work
- 46:40Speaker 1: from Kyon Williams last year. Six touchdowns, five point one
- 46:44Speaker 1: yards per carry. He's the more explosive of the two.
- 46:47Speaker 1: He forced missed more miss tackles last year than Kyrien
- 46:51Speaker 1: Williams did. Williams is really expensive in terms of like
- 46:54Speaker 1: from a real life contract standpoint, so I don't think
- 46:58Speaker 1: they're just gonna push him to the side, but he's
- 47:00Speaker 1: a slight of build back. If he goes down, I
- 47:04Speaker 1: think Korum could be a league winner behind that Rams
- 47:07Speaker 1: offensive line, And you don't need Williams to go down
- 47:11Speaker 1: in order for Korum to be successful. He's a must
- 47:14Speaker 1: have handcuff and fantasy, but he's I think he's got
- 47:16Speaker 1: plenty of standalone value as well.
- 47:19Speaker 2: Yeah, and if the Rams are a powerhouse and their
- 47:22Speaker 2: defense gets that much better, right, they're blowing out a
- 47:25Speaker 2: lot of teams, they're running it a lot late, and
- 47:30Speaker 2: he's probably getting even more of a workload.
- 47:34Speaker 1: And you can bet his rushing yards over if you'd like,
- 47:38Speaker 1: If you agree with me and you want to make
- 47:39Speaker 1: some bread off of it over six seventy four and
- 47:43Speaker 1: a half at minus one ten over on DraftKings stuck.
- 47:48Speaker 1: He likes Greg dulcich my Dolphins tight end, and I
- 47:52Speaker 1: like Blake Korum, the backup for the La Rams.
- 47:56Speaker 2: I was looking for Greg Dulciic markets. The only thing
- 47:59Speaker 2: you can bet is most regular receiving tou touchdowns four
- 48:03Speaker 2: hundred to one. The next player to record one hundred
- 48:07Speaker 2: and fifty plus receiving yards in a game, Greg Dulcicic,
- 48:12Speaker 2: which I would not recommend betting. But who did the
- 48:17Speaker 2: Dolphins start with? Again?
- 48:19Speaker 1: I mean, Dolphins have to start anytime, anytime touchdown Greg
- 48:24Speaker 1: dulcic Week one. I kind of like looking at that route.
- 48:28Speaker 2: Yeah, four hundred to one lead, the lead the league
- 48:31Speaker 2: and receiving touchdowns. That would be hilarious.
- 48:33Speaker 1: But that's pretty bold, pretty bold. Go and go and
- 48:36Speaker 1: discover all of these over on draft Kings. That'll do
- 48:39Speaker 1: it for today's episode. If you want more from the favorites,
