- 0:16Speaker 1: I'll do one. Do one. Do it for Canada, Broh,
- 0:20Speaker 1: do it for the homeland. I actually like these ones
- 0:25Speaker 1: a lot too. Mm hmm. They're tasty, pretty good. Hopefully
- 0:32Speaker 1: this makes for a much more interesting conversation. We'll find
- 0:35Speaker 1: out about fifteen. We'll see. I'm gonna take two, just
- 0:42Speaker 1: so you know. I'm with the ships. You'll be on one,
- 0:44Speaker 1: I'll be on two. Wait, this is really shrooms. This
- 0:49Speaker 1: is this is really shrooms. I mean officially, no, of
- 0:54Speaker 1: course not. Which was fucking candy. Yeah, dropped to seven
- 0:59Speaker 1: eleven anyway, man, welcome back, Thanks man, how's everything been?
- 1:03Speaker 1: Everything's good? Man? You know, new record, new record, enjoying life,
- 1:06Speaker 1: dabbling into the Spanish world, got Jay Balvin on it.
- 1:10Speaker 1: How did it start out? Did it start out with
- 1:12Speaker 1: Quabo giving you that hook and you were like, oh
- 1:13Speaker 1: this is crazy. Yeah, so it actually started, Yeah, like
- 1:16Speaker 1: it started this is like one of the beats that
- 1:18Speaker 1: actually started with another producer. This started with Farrell. An
- 1:21Speaker 1: idea from Farrell. You know what I'm saying. I called
- 1:24Speaker 1: them up, got the files, collaborated on it with him
- 1:26Speaker 1: and stuff. Quevo killed it. I got Valving on it
- 1:30Speaker 1: like around the same time, like I heard it, and
- 1:32Speaker 1: then I put my girl and Nita on it too.
- 1:34Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying to put she's from Brazil.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Put the cherry on top. Is she from Brazil? Yeah,
- 1:38Speaker 1: she's from Brazil. Have you been there? Yeah? I was.
- 1:40Speaker 1: I was there, Like I went with her like a
- 1:42Speaker 1: month ago. Maybe it was crazy. Are you single? No? No, okay,
- 1:47Speaker 1: never mind, man, how are the women out there? Like
- 1:49Speaker 1: if you were single? Were they Anita's great? Honestly, I
- 1:53Speaker 1: just mean like Brazil as a country, Brazil's beautiful country.
- 1:56Speaker 1: As a young man, Brazilian was like my favorite cat,
- 2:00Speaker 1: had a glory to go to on the hub. You know,
- 2:02Speaker 1: Rezilian women are amazing. Yeah, don't get enough of them
- 2:04Speaker 1: in La unfortunately. Yeah, you're right, honestly, out to Brazil.
- 2:08Speaker 1: I got to Brazilian myself. You know, Oh you have
- 2:10Speaker 1: a Brazilian girl, so then you know more than anyone Yeah,
- 2:13Speaker 1: kudos to you, sir. I Needa, she's great. Oh Nita
- 2:16Speaker 1: is your girl? Yeah? What the fuck? I had no idea.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Yeah she's lit, dude. That was so awkward the fact
- 2:23Speaker 1: I didn't know that. No, she's it's the strooms, man,
- 2:28Speaker 1: it's not the shrooms. I just had no fucking idea. Man.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Apparently I'm not tapped in enough. No, she's dope though.
- 2:32Speaker 1: I met her like last year in Miami, and then
- 2:35Speaker 1: we just kept talking and stuff and then like started
- 2:38Speaker 1: like hanging out a lot, and then like she brought
- 2:40Speaker 1: me out of Coachella and then yeah, you know what
- 2:42Speaker 1: I'm saying. And now that you're lady, that's dope. Awesome.
- 2:45Speaker 1: I like she had a record with the Baby that
- 2:47Speaker 1: was dope. Yeah. Yeah, No, she's she's super far. She's
- 2:49Speaker 1: killing it. That's super. She just got like a Guinness
- 2:51Speaker 1: World Record for like high streaming Latin song, solo Latin
- 2:56Speaker 1: artist song or something. You might know this better than me.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Was in Brazil. It's a Portuguese speaking country. Yeah, I'm
- 3:03Speaker 1: learning Portuguese right now. Yeah, and Portuguese is like my
- 3:07Speaker 1: homies from Portugal, so he'd be sometimes he'll speak that
- 3:10Speaker 1: ship in front of me. And it's definitely a different
- 3:12Speaker 1: language than Spanish, but I think it's it's kind of
- 3:14Speaker 1: tricky to learn. I don't know Spanish. It's probably easier,
- 3:18Speaker 1: like I've learned French and stuff, because French is the
- 3:20Speaker 1: second language in Canada Canada, but Portuguese is kind of difficult.
- 3:23Speaker 1: You know what you're learning. She's teaching you. What is
- 3:26Speaker 1: something that you've learned like that, You're like confident. You know,
- 3:28Speaker 1: you get into a pin you need to bust out
- 3:30Speaker 1: a Portuguese sentence. What are we saying? Insane? She what
- 3:34Speaker 1: does that mean? Innocent? Oh? Shit, in case the police
- 3:37Speaker 1: pull up, You're like, like, so there was one day,
- 3:40Speaker 1: like I saw some crazy shit on the side of
- 3:42Speaker 1: the street. We were like driving and it was like
- 3:44Speaker 1: a coffin and they had all these people like in
- 3:46Speaker 1: handcuffs on this on the on the road and like
- 3:48Speaker 1: everyone in eight k's and shit, and her mom was
- 3:50Speaker 1: like suspect though, or like suspect though. And then like
- 3:53Speaker 1: I learned innocent. It was funny. I like learned how
- 3:55Speaker 1: to say insanecy or whatever, like innocent. And then like
- 3:58Speaker 1: I was in like a grocery store there and like
- 4:00Speaker 1: a guy walked out right when I walked in and
- 4:02Speaker 1: the beat the alarm beat, and you were like you
- 4:04Speaker 1: got it off, and I was like, oh ship And
- 4:06Speaker 1: then like everyone's like, hey, hey, hey, you you like
- 4:09Speaker 1: what's going Like they're all looking at me like I
- 4:11Speaker 1: just like stole something like and they're all like we
- 4:14Speaker 1: got him, Like they're like we got this this this
- 4:16Speaker 1: skid from Canada, like we got you were able to
- 4:18Speaker 1: use it though, and then they're like, walk back through
- 4:20Speaker 1: the metal detector like in Porcheese. I'm like like like
- 4:22Speaker 1: this and I walked in like insane, see and I
- 4:25Speaker 1: walked through and it didn't beat, and everyone was like laughing.
- 4:27Speaker 1: It's gonna feel great to be able to get off
- 4:28Speaker 1: a word like that that you just learned. It was great.
- 4:30Speaker 1: It's like perfect circumstance. No, it was fun. Uh So
- 4:33Speaker 1: Pharrell co produced, Yeah, that's pretty fucking cool. Legendary out
- 4:38Speaker 1: to far. You know, he's one of the goats. He's
- 4:39Speaker 1: like on the Mount Rushmore. I'd say, hell yeah, you know, legendary. Yeah.
- 4:44Speaker 1: What what's your relationship like with Pharrell? Because I met
- 4:48Speaker 1: him at Kavos album release party twenty eighteen. Remember when
- 4:54Speaker 1: Leo dropping his album. I met him at that release
- 4:57Speaker 1: party and then he said that he was a big
- 4:59Speaker 1: fan of Stuf we should link up, and then we
- 5:01Speaker 1: kept in touch. I started going studio with them, working
- 5:03Speaker 1: on a lot of stuff, and then this record came
- 5:05Speaker 1: about years later, so it was awesome. So like we
- 5:07Speaker 1: definitely wanted to release something together, you know what I'm saying.
- 5:10Speaker 1: And then this was perfect. So when you like get
- 5:12Speaker 1: the beat originally from Pharrell, it was one of the greats.
- 5:15Speaker 1: What is the sauce you add to it? I like
- 5:19Speaker 1: put some of my drums with his drums and made
- 5:22Speaker 1: it crazier and then like did some melody stuff produced
- 5:25Speaker 1: out the record, put everybody on the record, and like, yeah,
- 5:28Speaker 1: super big, and like we both like did notes for
- 5:30Speaker 1: like mixing and mastering. He helped me like with some
- 5:33Speaker 1: notes like take it to the finish line like things
- 5:35Speaker 1: and like how to tweak like sequencing the song and stuff. Yeah,
- 5:38Speaker 1: and I think it's gonna be a huge record for you, bro. No,
- 5:40Speaker 1: I appreciate it. But I as soon as I heard it,
- 5:41Speaker 1: I was like, oh, this shit. I told my boy
- 5:43Speaker 1: Brandon from your label. I was like, Yo, this is
- 5:45Speaker 1: a this would be easy, you know what I mean
- 5:48Speaker 1: I shot a big budget video in Miami. Big budget video.
- 5:51Speaker 1: What is a big budget video in twenty twenty two.
- 5:53Speaker 1: I'm just curious because I think back in the day,
- 5:55Speaker 1: they were like really big budget videos. Big budget video
- 6:00Speaker 1: for me is like three K like over like five
- 6:07Speaker 1: hundred thousand, half a million. That's fair, you know what.
- 6:09Speaker 1: I'm big budget? Yeah for sure. Yeah, because I feel
- 6:12Speaker 1: like back in the day, like when Buster Rhymes and
- 6:13Speaker 1: Missy and Big those were like they were like fucking
- 6:16Speaker 1: millions of dollars. I think about the momentey More Problems video. Yeah,
- 6:19Speaker 1: motherfuckers had to shut down the ocean and they had
- 6:21Speaker 1: speedboats and ship Oh yeah, that's it was crazy. Yeah,
- 6:24Speaker 1: videos those times were incredible. So what does the j
- 6:27Speaker 1: Balvin call? Like? So I was in I was in
- 6:31Speaker 1: LA at the time. It was like during COVID, I
- 6:33Speaker 1: was working with Valvin. So you're already locked in with him. Yeah,
- 6:36Speaker 1: So I was working with him already. This fucking fly
- 6:38Speaker 1: won't go away, It's all good, shut up, shut the fly.
- 6:40Speaker 1: But I was already working with him and stuff. So
- 6:43Speaker 1: like when I had the record, Like when I got
- 6:45Speaker 1: the record and stuff, I was like, Yo, this is
- 6:46Speaker 1: gonna be perfect to get Valvin on right, So I
- 6:48Speaker 1: took it right to him. He loved it. He's like, Yo,
- 6:51Speaker 1: this is super fire, can't wait to do it. He
- 6:53Speaker 1: sent me like a verse back in like a week.
- 6:55Speaker 1: That's a pretty nice turnaround for arguably the biggest artist
- 6:58Speaker 1: in the And then we were kind of we were
- 7:00Speaker 1: kind of sitting on the record for a bit. I
- 7:01Speaker 1: thought Quabo was gonna use it, you know, and then
- 7:04Speaker 1: he ended up not using this On the top of
- 7:05Speaker 1: the year. I was like, hey, man, can I get this? Yeah? Yeah,
- 7:09Speaker 1: is that something that happens like because obviously you're putting
- 7:12Speaker 1: out a lot of music, So is that something that
- 7:15Speaker 1: is happening with you picking songs where you'll be like, Yo,
- 7:18Speaker 1: we cut this idea like a year and a half ago,
- 7:20Speaker 1: what are you doing with it? Because I wouldn't mind. Yeah, sometimes,
- 7:22Speaker 1: but then a lot of like rappers and stuff, they'll
- 7:25Speaker 1: feel like stuff's old and they'll just want to make
- 7:27Speaker 1: new stuff. That always that's a problem because a lot
- 7:29Speaker 1: of the rappers that like I work with, they just
- 7:32Speaker 1: record so fast, so they're always recording new music. So
- 7:35Speaker 1: something I feel like all artists are like that, where
- 7:38Speaker 1: it's like it could be nine months old, it could
- 7:42Speaker 1: be a year old, and they're like, yo, man, but
- 7:44Speaker 1: that's just old. That's played out, you know. It's crazy.
- 7:47Speaker 1: I feel like that. That is something that happens where
- 7:49Speaker 1: I'll hear artists play me shit and I'll be like, Yo,
- 7:51Speaker 1: that's a hit. You should drop that shit. And then
- 7:53Speaker 1: like a year later their album comes out and the
- 7:55Speaker 1: fucking sure shot fucking banger did not make the project,
- 7:58Speaker 1: and I'm like, what the fuck? And it's because motherfuckers
- 8:01Speaker 1: driving around listening to their own shit. He gets played
- 8:03Speaker 1: out to them, they do the new shit and they're
- 8:06Speaker 1: like Nahue, yeah, no, it's crazy, man. And that's the
- 8:09Speaker 1: thing is like a lot of artists they like forget
- 8:11Speaker 1: about the gems. It's like, dude, there's been so many artists.
- 8:15Speaker 1: I'm like, dude, you had you had, you had a
- 8:18Speaker 1: fucking big record that you just kept on kept on
- 8:20Speaker 1: a hard drive somewhere. Yeah, So you're you're kind of
- 8:23Speaker 1: running into that just with because obviously when you're reaching out,
- 8:25Speaker 1: you're like, yo, I love this idea. We cut Yeah,
- 8:28Speaker 1: And even even for me though, like I put records
- 8:31Speaker 1: together in like twenty eighteen with like all big name,
- 8:34Speaker 1: major artists. And then I just listened to it too
- 8:36Speaker 1: much and it gets like a year old, and I'm like,
- 8:38Speaker 1: it's too old. I need new shit. Oh so you
- 8:40Speaker 1: And I was like, Yo, no, like we need to
- 8:41Speaker 1: drop this like this fire. So that's happened with you.
- 8:44Speaker 1: It happens all the time. Man, I'm sitting on so
- 8:46Speaker 1: much music. What would you say is give me the
- 8:50Speaker 1: artist on a song that you've decided to just not
- 8:53Speaker 1: drop or that you're kind of like it's a little old.
- 8:56Speaker 1: I might pass. I might still drop it, right, it's
- 9:02Speaker 1: got like I might like renew the beat or something.
- 9:04Speaker 1: But like I got like a bunch of stuff with
- 9:05Speaker 1: a bunch of people. But one example is like, uh
- 9:09Speaker 1: sway y two chains Gucci. That's a nice record, you
- 9:12Speaker 1: know that feels like twenty eighteen though, but still yeah,
- 9:16Speaker 1: but still have you got anything on the new Race
- 9:18Speaker 1: Rammand project? I don't think so. Yeah that one, right,
- 9:24Speaker 1: I should have took that one super fired, Yo, I
- 9:26Speaker 1: had one for them. I got some shit, just needs
- 9:28Speaker 1: to send Jimmy to hop on it. It's a race
- 9:29Speaker 1: swimmer zone, yeah for sure. Man. So I you know
- 9:35Speaker 1: you have a lot of stuff that you have your
- 9:37Speaker 1: hands in. Talk about the water that you got. It's
- 9:40Speaker 1: is a psychedelic water. Is that what it's called. Yeah,
- 9:42Speaker 1: sucking that up. Yeah, it's called likedelic water. We got
- 9:44Speaker 1: it in like Ara One, We got it in a
- 9:46Speaker 1: bunch of stores. It's going crazy right now right now,
- 9:51Speaker 1: the product that we have in stores because you obviously
- 9:53Speaker 1: can't you know what I'm saying, but you can't put
- 9:56Speaker 1: a psilocybin in water and sell it. You can't put
- 9:58Speaker 1: like mushrooms and water in Walmart. So it's like you're
- 10:01Speaker 1: in Canada, I think. So it's legal in Canada's suicide
- 10:04Speaker 1: and is legal. Will Whiz just announced he's dropping his
- 10:07Speaker 1: own shrooms in Canada. Yeah that's good, mister cap It
- 10:10Speaker 1: makes sense. Now you got it, do your ship. Yeah.
- 10:13Speaker 1: So right now, what we have is it's like cava root,
- 10:16Speaker 1: the mini a leaf, like just stuff that's like if
- 10:18Speaker 1: you drink it, you you'll get a little buzz. Like
- 10:20Speaker 1: I drink it, I get a little buzz. I feel good,
- 10:22Speaker 1: energetic and stuff like it's cool, just fucking fly. There
- 10:27Speaker 1: is there's like a lot of like legal mushrooms that
- 10:30Speaker 1: are like super beneficial though, like like there's like I
- 10:33Speaker 1: take this supplement. It's like, bro, when I'm taking this
- 10:37Speaker 1: ship because I never get sick. Really, what the fuck
- 10:40Speaker 1: it's called? It's it's on Amazon for like one hundred
- 10:43Speaker 1: dollars a bottle. That ship's goat shout out to the shrooms.
- 10:45Speaker 1: How often are you like microdocent through life? Uh? I
- 10:49Speaker 1: dabble sometimes. I don't know, not really though you can
- 10:52Speaker 1: wearing like heavy, like a heavy trip. No, you've never
- 10:56Speaker 1: fucking talked to God or fucking I had had one
- 10:59Speaker 1: of those fucking see maybe back in the day, Back
- 11:03Speaker 1: in the day, this guy is you got psychedelic water.
- 11:05Speaker 1: It's the name of your water brand. And you've never
- 11:07Speaker 1: had a crazy experience. No, I've had a crazy experience. Like, yeah,
- 11:11Speaker 1: you just don't want to talk about it. I has
- 11:13Speaker 1: a few shares, you know. I mean, what's been the
- 11:15Speaker 1: worst trip you've ever had or the best trip? Could
- 11:22Speaker 1: go either way. I just like, I don't know. It's
- 11:24Speaker 1: like laughing a lot and stuff. You know, it's fun.
- 11:26Speaker 1: You know. I discovered Tam and Paula. I've always heard
- 11:30Speaker 1: of Taman Paula. Never knew it was one guy. I
- 11:33Speaker 1: always did you know it was one gone? Then I
- 11:35Speaker 1: always thought it was some fucking megaband. I saw they
- 11:38Speaker 1: like headline Coachella a few years ago. I was fucking
- 11:41Speaker 1: off a whole bag of these joints, like fucking Joshua Tree,
- 11:45Speaker 1: like a real fucking La motherfucker going to Joshua Tree
- 11:49Speaker 1: to do shrooms. And I just throw on some playlists
- 11:51Speaker 1: called like shrew Music on Spotify, and the fucking Tame
- 11:54Speaker 1: and Paala came on. Bro, It's the fucking best ship
- 11:55Speaker 1: I ever heard of my life at the time, being
- 11:58Speaker 1: high on shrooms listening to Let It Happen by Tam
- 12:01Speaker 1: and Paula. That was the best. That's the best song
- 12:03Speaker 1: in I've ever heard in life. I used to I
- 12:06Speaker 1: used to smoke a lot of weed. I used to
- 12:08Speaker 1: love coming to LA, Like back in the day, I'd
- 12:10Speaker 1: come to LA, I'd like pull up on a dispensary,
- 12:12Speaker 1: I'd like do a story post and give me like
- 12:14Speaker 1: they give you heyah taking out. But this is like
- 12:16Speaker 1: even before, like they even had like crazy branding out
- 12:19Speaker 1: here in LA, like twenty like fifteen, like it was
- 12:21Speaker 1: getting started, but like you know what I'm saying, But
- 12:24Speaker 1: I just started getting like super anxious off weed a
- 12:26Speaker 1: lot like it just like started like hitting me differently,
- 12:28Speaker 1: and I so I just like I remember like one
- 12:30Speaker 1: year after Coachella, I was like, you have to Coachella.
- 12:32Speaker 1: I'm just gonna completely stop smoking weed. And I just stopped.
- 12:35Speaker 1: And like I haven't smoked weed. Like like like if
- 12:39Speaker 1: I'm like drunk and you have a blunt, like I'll
- 12:40Speaker 1: hit the blunt. You know what I mean. It makes sense,
- 12:42Speaker 1: but like, yeah, I haven't smoked weed, and like like
- 12:44Speaker 1: I quit. We probably like five six years ago. Do
- 12:46Speaker 1: you think that increased your like productivity in life? Did
- 12:50Speaker 1: you notice anything like get better? I definitely leveled up
- 12:57Speaker 1: in life, but I don't know if it was because
- 13:03Speaker 1: to do with it, Like I don't know. Hey, we

- 14:09Speaker 1: want to know your thoughts on the new Drake album.
- 14:12Speaker 1: I like it. I like it too. I'm not mad
- 14:15Speaker 1: at I'm just glad he took a risk. I actually
- 14:17Speaker 1: like it. Like I know, like when he first dropped
- 14:18Speaker 1: it and stuff, like a lot of people were like
- 14:20Speaker 1: I saw like people bashing it and stuff. And I
- 14:22Speaker 1: was in Canada at the time, and I was like
- 14:25Speaker 1: driving back to Niagar to see my mom. And I
- 14:27Speaker 1: was just playing the album and I was like, this
- 14:28Speaker 1: is fire music to ride to. It's just like you
- 14:30Speaker 1: need to have refreshing music, you know what I'm saying.
- 14:33Speaker 1: And I feel like when you travel a lot and
- 14:35Speaker 1: you experience different cultures in different parts of the world,
- 14:38Speaker 1: and there's a lot of different music out there, right,
- 14:41Speaker 1: So I just feel like he's introducing like a new
- 14:43Speaker 1: sound to like I think, like for me, I think
- 14:47Speaker 1: Drake taking a risk is I'm just happy. I'm like, Yo,
- 14:52Speaker 1: this dude just put out a whole fucking house album. Like,
- 14:55Speaker 1: I'm just happy he's taking risks with his music because
- 14:57Speaker 1: I feel like Drake could do anything, Like he could
- 14:59Speaker 1: just do the Drake ship and it'll work it all like,
- 15:03Speaker 1: but he could do like he could just make the
- 15:04Speaker 1: same album over and over again, not saying he's done that.
- 15:09Speaker 1: I think my favorite, maybe he has my favorite record
- 15:12Speaker 1: on the album on that album is Sticky. Sticky is
- 15:15Speaker 1: the one shout out to fucking Carnate. That's my joint. Yeah,
- 15:19Speaker 1: he snapping Sticky's crazy, super crazy. And then I know
- 15:24Speaker 1: I think he I think he's going to be putting out.
- 15:26Speaker 1: I don't know they're saying he might do another Scary Hours.
- 15:28Speaker 1: You got any unreleased Drake ship, I had some, but
- 15:32Speaker 1: we ended up using it. What's that mean? Like you
- 15:37Speaker 1: used the beat or you use Drake's vocals or like
- 15:39Speaker 1: like me and Drake were gonna work a record, but
- 15:42Speaker 1: then we put it. We give it to two Chains
- 15:43Speaker 1: for Bigger than You, great record does a great record too.
- 15:46Speaker 1: That was a great record. Shout out two Chains. Me
- 15:50Speaker 1: and two Chains has had a lot of success together. Man,
- 15:52Speaker 1: we had that one. Bigger than You. We had It's
- 15:55Speaker 1: a vibe. We had four Am, like three bad three
- 15:59Speaker 1: four Am Travis, It's a vible Quavo, It's vibe Ti
- 16:03Speaker 1: Jane and Trey on it. Right, banger. Wow, that's a
- 16:07Speaker 1: that's like a classic record that could be played anywhere.
- 16:11Speaker 1: And that's a great record anytime. Any vibe it's a
- 16:14Speaker 1: vibe four Am was That was one of the better
- 16:17Speaker 1: records on that album. Yeah, that whole that album's crazy.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Have you like ever thought about like a lot, like
- 16:22Speaker 1: if you see someone like two Chains where you've got
- 16:24Speaker 1: a great chemistry with him, like doing like a whole
- 16:27Speaker 1: fucking album where you're executive producer. Hell yeah, we talked
- 16:30Speaker 1: about it, you know, what I'm saying, you might have
- 16:32Speaker 1: to revisit it. Have you done that with anyone? Were?
- 16:34Speaker 1: Just like I just did. I just dropped the project
- 16:36Speaker 1: last year with Shorty. I was about to say that
- 16:38Speaker 1: short we talked about that last time you heard Smoke
- 16:40Speaker 1: Purp like five years ago. Yeah, I love that project,
- 16:44Speaker 1: Smoke Purp. I don't know, he has some dope ship.
- 16:48Speaker 1: I don't know what happened with that kid, man. You
- 16:50Speaker 1: just underrated man. He's a good He's a good artist.
- 16:53Speaker 1: I think like that whole era, the cloud era, whatever
- 16:57Speaker 1: you want to call it. I just think that I
- 17:00Speaker 1: could chewed up a lot of people to spit them out. Bro. No,
- 17:02Speaker 1: for sure, you know what I'm saying. It's just like
- 17:04Speaker 1: that whole era of music, Like just like the times
- 17:08Speaker 1: and music are changing so fast now, you know what
- 17:10Speaker 1: I'm saying. So it's like people can get lost in it,
- 17:15Speaker 1: you know. Yeah, like you think of like like Little Pump,
- 17:19Speaker 1: Smoke Perp, even six ' nine, who else was popping
- 17:24Speaker 1: during that? You probably can't say anyone's name because I
- 17:27Speaker 1: can be a dick. You can't. I don't know, you
- 17:29Speaker 1: get it. Yeah, it just felt like a lot of
- 17:32Speaker 1: those guys like the music was like good enough at
- 17:36Speaker 1: the time because the antics were up there in terms
- 17:38Speaker 1: of like you know, people like actually like going like
- 17:41Speaker 1: and paying attention to what they were doing, and the
- 17:43Speaker 1: music was like ah checks out, Like Little Pump had
- 17:45Speaker 1: some shit I loved. But I think like once people
- 17:48Speaker 1: stopped giving a fuck about like Instagram antics as much,
- 17:52Speaker 1: the music really had to like stack up. And I
- 17:55Speaker 1: just feel like sometimes like those guys weren't as focused
- 17:58Speaker 1: on making great music as they were like making okay
- 18:01Speaker 1: music and being like fucking rap rap stars, you know
- 18:04Speaker 1: what I mean. Get I get where you're coming from.
- 18:06Speaker 1: I personally like loved like this the ship that Me
- 18:08Speaker 1: and Purple making though fire like I think of like
- 18:11Speaker 1: Little zan like, what the fuck man, God bless him Jesus.
- 18:15Speaker 1: His music was atrocious, but like he was, Little Zany
- 18:18Speaker 1: had that one song. What was that song called? Was
- 18:20Speaker 1: the Skittles? One the fuck was it called? Were something?
- 18:23Speaker 1: Pussy tastes like Skittles? He only had one good song.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Shout out to him, are you like? I just had
- 18:31Speaker 1: South Side on the show last month and he was
- 18:33Speaker 1: saying that what he deals with a lot is people
- 18:36Speaker 1: selling bootlegs. South Side beats, So we're like people because
- 18:39Speaker 1: his tag's everywhere. So he's like, Yo, people take my
- 18:42Speaker 1: tag and they'll put it on their shitty the EIGHTO
- 18:44Speaker 1: eight Mafia tag. They'll put it on their shitty beats,
- 18:46Speaker 1: and then like people will fucking actually really think that
- 18:50Speaker 1: it's real shit and they'll they'll cash out this struggle
- 18:53Speaker 1: producer or whoever it is. Have you had anyone like,
- 18:56Speaker 1: have you ever had some ship drop like randomly that
- 18:59Speaker 1: has your tag like that, I didn't do that fucking beat. Yeah,
- 19:01Speaker 1: I've had that happen. I've had people put my name
- 19:04Speaker 1: on records, just a lot of stuff. Yeah, it happens, though.
- 19:07Speaker 1: It happens like when you when you get success. You
- 19:10Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, people are gonna try to like
- 19:11Speaker 1: use your name to like get one up or something.
- 19:14Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. Yeah, is there any uh
- 19:17Speaker 1: do you deal with this a lot where maybe like
- 19:18Speaker 1: I don't know, five years ago, you sent a pack
- 19:20Speaker 1: to somebody and or you were in this session with
- 19:24Speaker 1: somebody the kind of idea and they tried dropping it
- 19:26Speaker 1: like and you gotta like shut that shit down. Oh yeah,
- 19:29Speaker 1: that's happened before too. Yeah, it's gotta be. I can
- 19:32Speaker 1: imagine just you being a kid coming up fucking traveling
- 19:35Speaker 1: to Atlanta to work with a migos. How many random
- 19:37Speaker 1: sessions you've been in where people have gotten your beats? Yeah?
- 19:41Speaker 1: I used to always try to like not like delete
- 19:43Speaker 1: my beat out of the computer. This that blah blah blah.
- 19:45Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. That's smart Most people don't do.
- 19:48Speaker 1: People record here all the fucking time, And I'm just
- 19:51Speaker 1: like the lack of like care people have to like
- 19:54Speaker 1: take their shit off. Did they just leave their shit
- 19:56Speaker 1: on the computer? Oh? Yes, but I had like half
- 19:58Speaker 1: a g Herbo's album. Mom, I fucking laptop with stems
- 20:00Speaker 1: and everything on the computer there. The album's out now,
- 20:03Speaker 1: but's like, do you guys want these like nine months later? Yo?
- 20:07Speaker 1: Can you send the sessions? Fuck? Man, bring a hard drive?
- 20:11Speaker 1: Do you always bring a hard drive? You always gotta
- 20:12Speaker 1: have the hard drive? Are like like we transfers, you
- 20:15Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, stuff like that USB's I don't
- 20:17Speaker 1: want a hard drive? Course, Uh what for you? Man?
- 20:21Speaker 1: Like stepping into the Spanish world, it's something new for you,
- 20:24Speaker 1: so like, uh, you're obviously a Caucasian from Canada, yeah,
- 20:28Speaker 1: I'm like, you're you're white. We're white. Uh what is Like?
- 20:33Speaker 1: How are you digging it so far? It's cool, man.
- 20:36Speaker 1: I'm just always just trying to like do new stuff
- 20:38Speaker 1: and like stay refreshing for myself, you know what I'm saying.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Like I feel like I've done a lot, and like
- 20:43Speaker 1: I just want to like keep having fun with it
- 20:44Speaker 1: and like try new things, and like you know what
- 20:46Speaker 1: I'm saying. It's good. Like even like during COVID, like
- 20:49Speaker 1: I was like I was like, yeah, I want to
- 20:50Speaker 1: like do some different stuff. And I got the opportunity
- 20:52Speaker 1: to like get connected with Ariana Grande and then we
- 20:54Speaker 1: work during COVID on FaceTime and then started linking up
- 20:57Speaker 1: and like we were just working on music for her
- 20:59Speaker 1: album and stuff. We did some records and just like
- 21:01Speaker 1: doing different stuff, you know, like a year ago, like
- 21:04Speaker 1: I did the Chloe Bailey have Mercy record, Big record. Yeah,
- 21:07Speaker 1: just like and just like having fun with it doing
- 21:09Speaker 1: different stuff. You know what I'm saying. I never want
- 21:11Speaker 1: to be put in a box, and I always want
- 21:13Speaker 1: to be remembered for being able to make like all
- 21:16Speaker 1: different kinds of music. Was it hard for you to
- 21:19Speaker 1: get out of the box having a name like Murder Beats. Initially,
- 21:24Speaker 1: it wasn't hard getting out of the box because the
- 21:26Speaker 1: rap records I was making, I was part of that
- 21:30Speaker 1: time where like those records were becoming mainstream pop records
- 21:33Speaker 1: of course, but definitely, like with the name, Like I remember,
- 21:36Speaker 1: like years ago, like people were telling me to like
- 21:38Speaker 1: change my name, like use my government name Shane Lindstrom
- 21:42Speaker 1: on my producer stuff. I was like, hell no, because
- 21:45Speaker 1: like I was like, I can't do that because I
- 21:47Speaker 1: just like built this brand, right and then like I
- 21:49Speaker 1: spent years of my life building this shit. What to
- 21:52Speaker 1: throw it away and to change my name? I can't
- 21:53Speaker 1: do that. Yeah, man, when you think, like and that
- 21:56Speaker 1: was the groundwork, like me by myself, like I did,
- 21:59Speaker 1: like I really started it obviously, like when I brought
- 22:02Speaker 1: more piece of the puzzle, like my managing ship, we
- 22:04Speaker 1: took it to the next level. But like all those
- 22:06Speaker 1: nights in my mom's basement and like on Twitter and
- 22:09Speaker 1: doing all that stuff and moving around Chicago, moving around
- 22:12Speaker 1: Atlanta by myself, like so much sleepless nights and stuff.
- 22:15Speaker 1: You know, it's having my blood sweat and tears into
- 22:17Speaker 1: that name. Can't switch it, can you? Imagine Shane Shane beats.
- 22:22Speaker 1: How many fucking Shane beats are there. There's gonna be
- 22:24Speaker 1: at least four or five guys, that's crazy. Shout out
- 22:27Speaker 1: to Shane. Yeah, shout out to Shane. It's a great name, man,
- 22:29Speaker 1: it's a great name. Yeah. But like when we think
- 22:32Speaker 1: of the Spanish ship, bro, it's like worldly music. So
- 22:34Speaker 1: it's like, you know, I always you know it's worldly
- 22:37Speaker 1: and it's Latin America. Yeah, Latin America is big. It's huge.
- 22:42Speaker 1: It's like the biggest genre of music in the world, bro,
- 22:45Speaker 1: And like it's gonna open you up to like so
- 22:48Speaker 1: much different spaces. Do you You don't really do you?
- 22:51Speaker 1: Like you do gigs sometimes where you do? Yeah? I
- 22:54Speaker 1: love I was kicking it. I'll be DJing in Vegas
- 22:57Speaker 1: and stuff. How's that? It's fun? Man? I have a
- 22:59Speaker 1: black not even go dj in Barcelona or fucking Brazil. Yeah.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Or Puerto Rico. Yeah, you know what I'm saying. Puerto
- 23:07Speaker 1: Rico is the vibe. Yeah. I like Puerto Rico. I
- 23:10Speaker 1: went out there like a couple of years ago for
- 23:12Speaker 1: my birthday. I was like, there was like a there
- 23:14Speaker 1: was like a moment on my trip where I was
- 23:16Speaker 1: like on an ATV ride into the forest. There was
- 23:19Speaker 1: like raining and it was like that sounds like around.
- 23:21Speaker 1: I was like, this is crazy. Yeah, where am I at? Right? Yeah?
- 23:25Speaker 1: I felt like I was in like rainforest, Like is
- 23:27Speaker 1: that a rainforest? If it's a forest and it's raining. Fuck,
- 23:30Speaker 1: that's a good question because I was gonna say rainforest,
- 23:32Speaker 1: but I didn't want to say rainforest. Yes, but it
- 23:34Speaker 1: was a forest and it was raining. Technically there's an
- 23:37Speaker 1: argument to be made there. Does anyone know this is
- 23:43Speaker 1: the type of questions you asked when the microdoes kicks.
- 23:45Speaker 1: If you're in a forest and a rains, are you
- 23:47Speaker 1: now in a rainforest? Have you ever been? Have you
- 23:51Speaker 1: ever been to rainforest Cafe? Yes? I literally was in
- 23:55Speaker 1: Niagara Falls with my mom and we like we like
- 23:58Speaker 1: walked by the falls like week, like literally a few
- 24:00Speaker 1: weeks ago, Like we went to rainforest Cafe. You went recently?
- 24:04Speaker 1: First time? Like I was like, where should we eat?
- 24:05Speaker 1: I was like I'm starving. I'm like, there's a rainforest
- 24:07Speaker 1: Cafe right there, Like, oh, let me go. I haven't
- 24:08Speaker 1: been there since I was like eight, dude, when I
- 24:10Speaker 1: was when I was a little kid. That was like
- 24:13Speaker 1: the biggest thing we had in Arizona. They opened this
- 24:16Speaker 1: new man there was a rainforest cafe and it was like,
- 24:18Speaker 1: there's animatronic shit in Arizona. Well now there's a little
- 24:22Speaker 1: bit of stuff animals moving and she was like fucking
- 24:24Speaker 1: animatronic alligators. It was like a tourist attraction, like the food.
- 24:28Speaker 1: Who gives a you know. The craziest sh it is
- 24:30Speaker 1: is like when you remember like restaurants used to eat
- 24:33Speaker 1: as a kid, like nostalgic feelings. Like I remember like
- 24:36Speaker 1: back in the day. I wouldn't even eat there. We
- 24:37Speaker 1: were too poorty there, but weld just standing there. My
- 24:39Speaker 1: parents like we were like a big, a big big
- 24:42Speaker 1: dinner would be like to go to like Red Lobster,
- 24:45Speaker 1: It'd be like, oh my god, this is like gourmet,
- 24:47Speaker 1: five star. You know what I'm saying. I think Applebee's
- 24:49Speaker 1: was fancy brom like, yeah, Chili's all that stuff chilies.
- 24:52Speaker 1: I was like, damn, we're going to Chili's. I tried
- 24:54Speaker 1: to go back today, yo, me and my boys, Like
- 24:56Speaker 1: I was driving by a Chili's like six months ago.
- 24:58Speaker 1: I was like, Yo, we got to this guy. I
- 24:59Speaker 1: gotta go try, Like you know what I'm saying I
- 25:01Speaker 1: hopped out. We ate it. It was I thought it
- 25:03Speaker 1: was terrible. Probably was. I thought it was terrible. But like,
- 25:06Speaker 1: but like the nostalgia of me going like with my
- 25:09Speaker 1: parents when I was a kid, driving over to Buffalo,
- 25:12Speaker 1: going to the Gallery of Mall, going to eat at Chili's,
- 25:15Speaker 1: Like it was like incredible, you know what I mean,
- 25:16Speaker 1: You guys would go to Buffalo to eat. Yeah, that's
- 25:18Speaker 1: tight because I grew up in forty eer. It's like
- 25:21Speaker 1: on the border of Buffalo. It's like five minutes drive
- 25:23Speaker 1: to Buffalo there, so it's like people go there to shop.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Like America has like a lot of better brands, shopping malls,
- 25:30Speaker 1: cheaper gas, better food and grocery stores like everything, you know,
- 25:33Speaker 1: cheaper gas. Yeah, it's like, are you still a Canadian
- 25:37Speaker 1: citizen obviously so you get free Henker, No, no, not anymore.
- 25:41Speaker 1: I spent too much time Bootleg Camp podcast. Got to
- 25:43Speaker 1: stop things real quick. Tell you about our good folks
- 25:45Speaker 1: at Blue Chew. Listen, fellas, if you're trying to get
- 25:48Speaker 1: your dick right, you're trying to stay harder. Everyone wants
- 25:52Speaker 1: to be hard. Can you stay hard? You know what
- 25:55Speaker 1: I mean? If you need some help with your dick
- 25:58Speaker 1: is essentially what I'm trying to say. You need to
- 26:00Speaker 1: go to blue cheo dot com and get down with
- 26:04Speaker 1: something that I feel like is imperative and having yourself
- 26:06Speaker 1: a lovely evening with a lovely young lady or mail,
- 26:10Speaker 1: whatever you're into. If you go to blue choo dot com,
- 26:12Speaker 1: you will get a blue choo. It has the same
- 26:14Speaker 1: active ingredient as cialis and as viagra. Right, but guess
- 26:19Speaker 1: what it doesn't have the awkward doctor visits. That's right.
- 26:22Speaker 1: You don't got to wait in line. It's some lobby
- 26:24Speaker 1: to go get you some fucking shit to get your
- 26:26Speaker 1: dick working, and have some awkward conversation with a nurse,
- 26:29Speaker 1: and then have an awkward conversation with a doctor and
- 26:31Speaker 1: then he writes you a prescription, and then you go
- 26:33Speaker 1: to the pharmacist and then it's awkward because you pass
- 26:35Speaker 1: them the prescription and everyone knows you're picking up dick stuff.
- 26:39Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. No blue chew. You go
- 26:41Speaker 1: to the website. It's all online. It gets sent straight
- 26:45Speaker 1: to your house in discrete packaging in a chewable form. Listen,
- 26:49Speaker 1: your first month free right now. When you go to
- 26:52Speaker 1: blue cheo dot Com and you use the promo code bootleg.
- 26:56Speaker 1: That's right, you get the first month for free blue
- 26:59Speaker 1: choo dot com promo code boot leg. Take me later,
- 27:04Speaker 1: all right, go get your dick together, fellas. What do
- 27:06Speaker 1: you think of the Trudeau guy. I feel like people
- 27:09Speaker 1: are like I feel like he's like a polarizing guy.
- 27:11Speaker 1: I don't know, man, I don't know, man. I think
- 27:13Speaker 1: he kind of fucked up during the whole quarantine stuff,
- 27:15Speaker 1: fucking people down and like turning Canada into like different
- 27:19Speaker 1: country a little bit. It was crazy, right, Yeah, it
- 27:21Speaker 1: was crazy because like I was over here, so I
- 27:23Speaker 1: was like, oh, I don't know if it's calling me
- 27:25Speaker 1: back home, like we can't even leave the house and ship,
- 27:27Speaker 1: like I don't know about y'all. Like I'm on the
- 27:29Speaker 1: beats right now, Like yeah, nah, Buffalo is a I
- 27:35Speaker 1: went to Buffalo one time last year and hung out
- 27:38Speaker 1: with the Grizzel the guys and pretty interesting place. Good
- 27:41Speaker 1: food though, but interesting, Like I remember the Grizzl the guys.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Like I used to go to Buffalo and try to
- 27:46Speaker 1: like figure out like try to like build myself in
- 27:48Speaker 1: the Buffalo market way back or I used to go
- 27:50Speaker 1: hang out with John Boy. There was a rapper John
- 27:52Speaker 1: Bay out there shut out with John Boy, and like
- 27:55Speaker 1: he brought me to the studio where Conway was, and
- 27:57Speaker 1: I met Conway like way back then, wow, and like
- 28:01Speaker 1: they're like, boy was trying to like buy my drums
- 28:03Speaker 1: off me for like twenty five bucks. I was like,
- 28:05Speaker 1: was it like seventy five? They're like noo, was it drums?
- 28:08Speaker 1: I think it was DJ Sha l R I R
- 28:13Speaker 1: great guy. Yeah, did you ever link with Deringer back then?
- 28:16Speaker 1: I don't know. Deringer is like a fucking I don't
- 28:18Speaker 1: think so. He's like the new like I just get
- 28:21Speaker 1: like real like new Riza New. He reminds me of
- 28:26Speaker 1: the reason Lokay. Yeah, shout out to Deringer. But yeah,
- 28:30Speaker 1: like that whole Buffalo scene. And then like then, like
- 28:32Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, like me coming up, you
- 28:34Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, getting success in the business, and
- 28:36Speaker 1: then seeing the other guys pop off from and be like,
- 28:38Speaker 1: oh wait, I met them back the day five minutes apart.
- 28:41Speaker 1: I was like, that's crazy, you know what I'm saying.
- 28:43Speaker 1: So I've been sending packs and stuff to Conway and
- 28:44Speaker 1: stuff I was on his last album. Yeah, shout out
- 28:47Speaker 1: to Shout out to mister Conway. You were you on
- 28:49Speaker 1: the one that came out on Shady I don't know's
- 28:52Speaker 1: I did a record called Anzia. I don't know. Ania
- 28:56Speaker 1: shouts to mister the Machine, Hey, so are are you
- 29:00Speaker 1: doing all this to do the album eventually? Are you
- 29:03Speaker 1: only focused dropping singles because we had a Dope Blast
- 29:06Speaker 1: and wil a record earlier this year? Is this leading
- 29:08Speaker 1: up to a project or are you just gonna drop songs?
- 29:11Speaker 1: It'll definitely lead up to something, But right now I'm
- 29:13Speaker 1: just dropping music, you know what I'm saying. Yeah, getting
- 29:15Speaker 1: it out the door, just songs, just having fun with it,
- 29:18Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. Do you feel like you're
- 29:20Speaker 1: trying to like essentially Well, I'm not even gonna ask
