- 0:48She's a happy girl.
- 1:03God has made so many promises to us, promises that we can count on because each
- 1:08and every one of them is true.
- 1:10What he has done for others, he will surely do for you. He has promised you
- 1:15that he changes not and he is no respecter of persons.
- 1:19What he has done in days of old, he is still doing today.
- 1:22Trust in Him, and He will make it happen. Join us in this broadcast,
- 1:27His Promises Are True, as Kim Miller of Women at the Well Ministries takes us
- 1:31through 1 Kings 8.56 and Malachi 3.6, which say.
- 1:36Blessed be the Lord that hath given rest unto His people Israel,
- 1:40according to all that He promised.
- 1:42There hath not failed one word of all His good promise, which He promised by
- 1:47the hand of Moses, His servant.
- 1:50And then we read, For I am the Lord, I change not.
- 1:54Hello and welcome to this broadcast of Woman at the Well Ministries.
- 1:58And I love talking about God's promises.
- 2:01It's like a great big treasure hunt. Only when you go on a regular treasure
- 2:06hunt, you're not certain whether or not you're going to find the treasure.
- 2:10You're not even certain whether the time you have spent is going to be worth it or not.
- 2:15But when you open up the Holy Word of God, regardless of where you put your
- 2:20fingers, you're going to find a treasure of knowledge and truth that's life-changing.
- 2:28And when we learn of God and we begin to read his promises and we begin to see all that he has done,
- 2:38it increases our faith and it allows us to live the kind of life that God intended for us.
- 2:45And he said that he came that we might have life and have it more abundantly,
- 2:48and it's found in the treasures of his scripture.
- 2:51I love the fact that you cannot read his word.
- 2:57Without it doing something to your heart. Even the genealogies that are found
- 3:02in the beginning of Matthew and such, and you think to yourself,
- 3:06or even perhaps the book of Chronicles, and you think to yourself,
- 3:09I'm not really getting anything out of this.
- 3:11When you think about it, and you meditate upon it, and you read the scriptures
- 3:15that are associated with it, and you pray, God will give you something even
- 3:19out of what you think are the most obscure pieces of scripture.
- 3:24But as you begin to read God's Word, and no doubt you'll find scriptures that
- 3:29appeal to you more because you feel like you can understand them,
- 3:33you're going to find something amazing.
- 3:35The Word comes alive. No other book in history and no other book ever will be
- 3:42written that is as alive and full and dynamic as the Word of God.
- 3:49And the reason it is is because the word
- 3:52was made flesh and dwelt among us and as
- 3:55we begin to look at the scriptures we are spending
- 3:58time with the most high god not only
- 4:00are we learning the truths that he would have us
- 4:03to learn that transform our lives but we
- 4:07are spending time with the most high
- 4:10God and the Bible says that he will reveal to
- 4:13us the things that we need
- 4:16to understand and he does
- 4:19that through the the scriptures and through
- 4:22the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives and as the Holy Spirit reveals
- 4:27to us the meaning of scripture you'll find that you may read something today
- 4:31and you may have read that piece of scripture 20 or 30 times but today it speaks
- 4:37to your heart in an entirely different way.
- 4:41That's what I mean about it being alive and dynamic.
- 4:45Because it truly is God speaking to us.
- 4:50It's an amazing thing as we begin to look at the promises that he gives us.
- 4:55And the promises are too numerous for me to spend the time with you about them.
- 5:01But I want to inspire you and motivate you to spend the time in the holy word
- 5:06of God that you might dig out the promises that you love most.
- 5:10But perhaps all of us should
- 5:14pay very close attention to what
- 5:18he says in Romans 10 13 for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall
- 5:24be saved and all of us have the honor and the privilege to be titled a whosoever
- 5:33you don't have to be rich you don't have to be poor you don't have to be famous.
- 5:38You don't have to have your name in lights. You don't have to have high intelligence.
- 5:43You don't have to be from a certain family.
- 5:46You don't have to have been to church.
- 5:48You certainly don't have to have been perfect.
- 5:50None of those things are required for you to become a child of the most high God.
- 5:55He says, whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
- 6:02And when we call upon the name of the Lord, we are doing an act of showing him.
- 6:08That we believe in who he is and we are dependent on what he can do for us.
- 6:14And we realize that he is the holy son of God and that he and he alone can wash away our sins.
- 6:21And we have the promise that he will do so.
- 6:25I believe that when I begin to think about that promise and.
- 6:30Romans 10.13, I quickly come to 1 John 1.9, where the Bible says that if we
- 6:36confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse
- 6:42us from all unrighteousness.
- 6:44If you only dug up those two treasures, you would have a peace that passes understanding
- 6:50and a joy unspeakable and full of glory.
- 6:53Again, a promise that the Holy Word of God reveals to us as we read the Scriptures.
- 7:00I only have time for a few, but I would be remiss if I didn't read to you, John 3, 16.
- 7:07If I did not, in your hearing, allow you to hear the promise that you are loved.
- 7:13By God and that he sent his son to die on the cross of Calvary, so that you, whosoever,
- 7:20should call upon his name and find eternal life.
- 7:24The Bible says for God so loved
- 7:27the world that he gave his
- 7:30only begotten son that whosoever believeth
- 7:34in him should not perish but have
- 7:37everlasting life I ask you
- 7:39my friend have you placed your faith in
- 7:44Jesus Christ have you come to
- 7:47the saving knowledge that you cannot make
- 7:50it in this world and that we're all sinners and have come
- 7:53short of the glory of god that the way of
- 7:56the world leads to the wages of sin that are
- 7:58death but the gift of god is eternal life through jesus christ that you can't
- 8:04buy it you can't steal it and you can't lose it the bible says for by grace
- 8:11are you saved through faith and that not of yourselves it is the gift of god
- 8:16not of works lest any man should boast.
- 8:19There's no other way to get there. There's none other name given among men whereby we must be saved.
- 8:26But if we believe, we have the promise that he will receive us unto himself.
- 8:33And that, my friend, leads me to the other promise that I want to make sure
- 8:40you hear. He's coming back.
- 8:43He made that very clear to us in John chapter 14, beginning at verse 1.
- 8:50He told us about what he had gone to prepare for us.
- 8:53He told us about how he loved us so much that he went away and that while he
- 8:59was away in John chapter 14,
- 9:00he tells us he sent us the Holy Spirit as a comforter that we might be comforted
- 9:06by it and we might learn of him.
- 9:09The Bible says in John chapter 14 and one says, let not your heart be troubled.
- 9:14You believe in God, believe also in me.
- 9:18In my father's house are many mansions. if it were not so i would have told
- 9:23you i go to prepare a place for you and if i go to prepare a place for you i
- 9:28will come again and receive you under myself that where i am there ye may be also,
- 9:34then he says and whither i go you know and the
- 9:38way you know not only does this verse
- 9:41reveal to us the promise that he's gone to prepare a place for us but it reveals
- 9:46to us the promise that he's coming back and those that have believed in the
- 9:51holy name of Jesus Christ will be saved and they'll go to that home not made
- 9:56with hands eternal into the heavens that he is prepared for them that love him.
- 10:01In fact the Bible says that eye hath not seen and ear hath not heard what lies
- 10:06in store for them that love the Lord.
- 10:08But this scripture in John chapter 14 also
- 10:12reveals to us that he tells us the things
- 10:15we need to know but i believe as christians we
- 10:18have an obligation but we should also have the
- 10:21desire to read his word to learn
- 10:25of him he said that we could take
- 10:28his yoke upon us and that we could give him his our burden and he would give
- 10:33us his burden and it would be light there is no other deal in the world that
- 10:39you can do that with where you pretty much give rags and nothing and you receive an amazing return.
- 10:48Jesus doesn't build junk. Look at the earth when you begin to see a beautiful
- 10:54sunrise and you watch a sunset.
- 10:56It's a beautiful painting in the sky that he effortlessly puts for us to enjoy each and every day.
- 11:04I tell you what, if I hath not seen and ear hath not heard what lies in store
- 11:08for them that love him, you can be sure that heaven is way too beautiful to miss.
- 11:15But you must also realize that if you're not going to heaven, you're going to hell.
- 11:20And you'll go that because you've refused to believe in the only begotten Son of God.
- 11:26Because whosoever, and you are
- 11:28a whosoever, has the promise that you can receive eternal life in heaven.
- 11:34You need to realize that you do have eternal life.
- 11:38You will just either spend it in heaven with Jesus, or you will spend it in
- 11:43hell where the pain and suffering never stops, a place never meant for me or you.
- 11:50But we go if we do not believe.
- 11:54Perhaps another one of the greatest promises that I'd
- 11:57like for you to really hang on to
- 12:00is that he says for i am the lord i change
- 12:04not you can trust him because he's
- 12:07not one way today and another way tomorrow you can believe in him because what
- 12:13he did for others he'll do also for you he's no respecter of persons he will
- 12:20never leave you and he will never forsake you and he never changes.
- 12:25You don't have to worry about how God is going to greet you because he will
- 12:32do it the same every time. And it is with a loving, caring heart.
- 12:38The promises that I have spoken about over these last few moments with you have
- 12:44but scratched the surface,
- 12:46but I hope they served as an appetizer for you to open up the holy word of God
- 12:51and let him speak to you that your faith would be increased,
- 12:55that your peace would be multiplied, and that your joy would be unspeakable and full of glory.
