- 0:02Speaker 1: College football fans. Welcome back to the College Ball Show.
- 0:07Speaker 1: He's Marshall, I'm Chris, and we're here to talk what
- 0:11Speaker 1: else in college football? And something's going on with my
- 0:15Speaker 1: screen randomly, I thought I had it all set up perfectly.
- 0:19Speaker 1: But we're okay either way. I just really thought that
- 0:24Speaker 1: I had it's set up properly. But it's all good anyway.
- 0:31Speaker 1: We are gonna break down. Let me just make sure
- 0:34Speaker 1: it's all good here. Yeah, we're still recording. Yeah, we're good.
- 0:39Speaker 1: We're gonna break down. Week nine. Bama escapes somehow, some way,
- 0:45Speaker 1: Old Miss survives Oklahoma. Van Dey polls it off. Virginia
- 0:51Speaker 1: skates by in overtime, Memphis comes storming back, speaking of
- 0:56Speaker 1: finding a way. Texas somehow survive the cow bells BYU
- 1:03Speaker 1: pretty much handled Iowa State and a variety of other things.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Houston pulled a nice upset over asu A and m
- 1:12Speaker 1: It was a blood bath in the second half, so
- 1:14Speaker 1: much so that we have yet another firing this year.
- 1:19Speaker 1: It's been a crazy year for firing, man. I mean,
- 1:22Speaker 1: this is something that we rarely see. But we are
- 1:26Speaker 1: going to break down Week nine, right, and then Week ten,
- 1:32Speaker 1: Number nine, Vandy at number twenty Texas Sincy at Utah,
- 1:37Speaker 1: Tennessee at Oklahoma, USC at Nebraska, in a variety of
- 1:42Speaker 1: other interesting games like Virginia at cal Old Miss Baby.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Just maybe South Carolina can summon up something and give
- 1:53Speaker 1: them a run. And then, of course, you know, we'll
- 1:57Speaker 1: talk upsets against the spread. I got a variety of
- 2:01Speaker 1: against the spread, plus numbers that I'm eyeballing. I've only
- 2:05Speaker 1: put down. I think two bets are one bet. I
- 2:07Speaker 1: can't remember. I think it's two bets. But yeah, we're
- 2:10Speaker 1: gonna break it all down on the call. It's Ball Show.

- 3:12Speaker 1: gonna go ahead and bring in my co host Marshall
- 3:15Speaker 1: Marshall Man. First and foremost, you survived your weekend. You know,
- 3:21Speaker 1: you got a little, not a little. You got a
- 3:23Speaker 1: lot delayed on the way home, but you are here.
- 3:26Speaker 1: That's why we're doing a Tuesday Night. Sometimes life gets
- 3:29Speaker 1: in the way. How are you doing, my friend? And
- 3:32Speaker 1: we're gonna jump right into Bama and old miss getting
- 3:36Speaker 1: getting big dubs.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Hey. The Bachelor party went great. Got to enjoy all
- 3:41Speaker 2: the events I wanted to a lot. A lot of
- 3:44Speaker 2: friends and family were there. I wish you could have
- 3:45Speaker 2: been there, but I know you're there in spirit. It
- 3:49Speaker 2: was a good time. Then I sat on an airplane
- 3:51Speaker 2: for four and a half hours to get tested by
- 3:53Speaker 2: the gods again. But I passed somehow, so uh speaking
- 4:01Speaker 2: of role, tiede role which shouted in my Bachelor video
- 4:06Speaker 2: of the piano bars that are playing Rocky top. So
- 4:09Speaker 2: that's that's the good friends I got. It was really good.
- 4:11Speaker 2: I'll say that video, hey, uh that you know you
- 4:18Speaker 2: went from week one to where you got the The
- 4:22Speaker 2: Alabama lady is saying, if I'm the lottery have paying
- 4:24Speaker 2: for Dobors buyout and now that dude has won five
- 4:29Speaker 2: legit hard games, four of which were ranked in a row.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Wins in a row. I mean, he's best coaching colle
- 4:39Speaker 2: football this year. I'm not. I'm not gonna give it
- 4:41Speaker 2: to Ryan Day because Ryan Day has got a little
- 4:43Speaker 2: more of a money based team than the Bordas by
- 4:45Speaker 2: a little bit. But and Ryan Day's not faced the
- 4:48Speaker 2: calbery of opponents. Hey he has, But I mean, show
- 4:50Speaker 2: me a better coach in the boord this year. He
- 4:53Speaker 2: what they're doing there is amazing. Because yes, I think
- 4:55Speaker 2: Ty Simpson's a good quarterback. I've become more of a believer.
- 4:59Speaker 2: But he's not like an elite heisman, like oh my god,
- 5:04Speaker 2: you got to watch this guy play every week, like
- 5:05Speaker 2: I think like cam Ward's act though, But yeah, but
- 5:11Speaker 2: he just doesn't jump off the map to me, like
- 5:13Speaker 2: you know, maybe like a shore or a cam Ward is.
- 5:15Speaker 2: He's not like super athletic doesn't mean he's not a
- 5:17Speaker 2: great quarterback. And you know, but I just from a
- 5:20Speaker 2: coaching thing, like what more can de Bor do? Like
- 5:23Speaker 2: from his standpoint, your team's won five tough games in
- 5:25Speaker 2: a row. As we've discussed this year, Chris, it's hard
- 5:28Speaker 2: to win two big games in a row, let alone three.
- 5:31Speaker 2: So hey, if you're Bama, just keep doing your thing.
- 5:35Speaker 2: And they've had a pretty beast of a schedule, so
- 5:40Speaker 2: you know, we we discussed on the show last week
- 5:42Speaker 2: about it could this be a letdown but the spread
- 5:44Speaker 2: scene too high, which we both agreed it probably was,
- 5:48Speaker 2: but hey, that's what good teams find a way to do.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Just like we have complimented Georgia a lot this year
- 5:54Speaker 2: about winning a lot of games where they're down in
- 5:56Speaker 2: the first half, comeback in the second half. Hey, if
- 5:58Speaker 2: you're Bama, week after a week, get tested, get tested,
- 6:01Speaker 2: get tested. They've not had to buy, they've not had
- 6:03Speaker 2: that Citadel game. They just keep winning. Man, So again,
- 6:09Speaker 2: it maybe we will just have a Georgia Bama national
- 6:11Speaker 2: title game because those two teams not standing there the best,
- 6:14Speaker 2: because Ohio State definitely has a voice to reckon with,
- 6:17Speaker 2: but some of them some of the messy Sea boys
- 6:20Speaker 2: are getting tested. So I give Tysimpson credit, give the
- 6:23Speaker 2: board credit. Even though they're O line and D line,
- 6:26Speaker 2: Chris are not up to like that Urban Meyer Nick
- 6:29Speaker 2: Saban level. Quite they're still very good. And I just
- 6:33Speaker 2: get I gotta keep tipping the cap because I don't know,
- 6:37Speaker 2: I suppose I don't even know what they got this week,
- 6:39Speaker 2: but it's just like, damn, every week you've been tested
- 6:41Speaker 2: and even though I had one slip up, that's really
- 6:44Speaker 2: fucking hard to do, whether it's in high school, college
- 6:46Speaker 2: or pro. And they're doing at the college level. So hey,
- 6:49Speaker 2: in South Carolina, you were so hopeful going into this
- 6:52Speaker 2: year because what you had last year, you were like
- 6:54Speaker 2: inches away from making the playoff. And Lenora Sellers hasn't
- 6:58Speaker 2: quite gotten healthy or throughout the whole year, and they
- 7:00Speaker 2: haven't quite found that moult of that last year. Because
- 7:02Speaker 2: last year, Chris, they were a really good team. I'm
- 7:04Speaker 2: not saying they become a joke this year, but not
- 7:06Speaker 2: probably not the expectations they wanted to have when the
- 7:09Speaker 2: season started.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Yeah, they have a buye and then they take on
- 7:13Speaker 1: LSU at home Oklahoma at home Eastern Illinois, which you know,
- 7:18Speaker 1: Watch Out that's on the SEC Plus network, and then
- 7:24Speaker 1: at Auburn. Okay, so let's let's hold on. You know,
- 7:30Speaker 1: I won't say one hundred percent he's doing the best
- 7:34Speaker 1: coaching this year because I think people with less talent
- 7:37Speaker 1: are doing just as good. But and he did have
- 7:42Speaker 1: a slip up obviously, it just since we won, you know, yeah,
- 7:46Speaker 1: and that was a bad slip. But they have tightened up.
- 7:51Speaker 1: The one thing their defense isn't a top ten defense
- 7:57Speaker 1: on the surface anyway. The only questions I have is
- 8:03Speaker 1: their running game, because you're not gonna be able to keep
- 8:06Speaker 1: passing it all the time. That they can't run the
- 8:08Speaker 1: ball consistently. But what he's done and what Bama's looking like,
- 8:13Speaker 1: and I like this Ty Simpson a lot. I'm not
- 8:16Speaker 1: worried about where he gets drafted. He's he's damn good.
- 8:22Speaker 1: And so they have a multi they have three good
- 8:24Speaker 1: wide receivers, high level receivers, i'd say, And then it
- 8:30Speaker 1: just you know, can they run the ball consistently because
- 8:32Speaker 1: at some point you're not gonna be able to because
- 8:35Speaker 1: their office line is pretty good. It's definitely playing better
- 8:38Speaker 1: than it was earlier in the year. But if you
- 8:42Speaker 1: have to rely on protecting the quarterback consistently. You're just
- 8:47Speaker 1: gonna have to run the ball better. So that that's
- 8:49Speaker 1: a wait and see before I put Bama in Georgia
- 8:53Speaker 1: in the conference or in the finals. But yeah, you
- 8:56Speaker 1: got to give it to him. The pressure was on,
- 9:01Speaker 1: Like I said, they're ready to sell him down the
- 9:04Speaker 1: the way, and uh, you know he's he's responded. So
- 9:09Speaker 1: you know, at Auburn, you never know what happens in
- 9:12Speaker 1: that game, but they should. They haven't lost the game
- 9:15Speaker 1: in the SEC just yet, you know. Yeah, And although
- 9:21Speaker 1: it does feel like the two most dominant teams are
- 9:25Speaker 1: in the Big Ten, but the middle class, you know,
- 9:29Speaker 1: down to the let's say four to six and seven
- 9:33Speaker 1: and eight, we know seces it deeper squad or deeper conference.
- 9:39Speaker 1: So they're definitely getting tested more than those two teams,
- 9:44Speaker 1: and maybe maybe that ultimately helps in general. We'll see,
- 9:50Speaker 1: we will see. Okay, Old Miss, we'll get into a
- 9:55Speaker 1: variety of games. But Old Miss is up, then they're not,
- 10:01Speaker 1: then they're up again. You know, your boy made a
- 10:05Speaker 1: really stupid call, not putting any faith really into his
- 10:10Speaker 1: uh into his defense, who, by the way, stopped it
- 10:14Speaker 1: to a field goal, so he should have more confidence.
- 10:17Speaker 1: But other than that, he was oh of six on
- 10:19Speaker 1: the road against a ranked team at Old Miss and
- 10:22Speaker 1: he got over the hump. He got over the hump.
- 10:25Speaker 1: They only have one loss, it's a quality loss. It
- 10:28Speaker 1: was a really good game. And you know they were
- 10:30Speaker 1: shut down in the fourth quarter against Georgia those fourteen
- 10:34Speaker 1: yards and two punts or whatever. Not. This time they
- 10:37Speaker 1: outscored him nine to zero after a sixteen to three
- 10:41Speaker 1: third quarter. So I like the way they responded.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Yeah, you know this. I don't know if it's maybe
- 10:48Speaker 2: the flashiest team Old Missus had, and don't I think
- 10:51Speaker 2: le Land has had better offenses and better defenses well
- 10:55Speaker 2: but an Old miss But I don't think. I think
- 10:58Speaker 2: this is the best combination he's had it off and
- 11:00Speaker 2: some defense together, if that makes sense. He's had two
- 11:03Speaker 2: years ago his offense was better and three years.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Ago last year is defense was better.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Yeah, So but combined, this is probably the best squad
- 11:14Speaker 2: he's had overall. So that's a positive. Again, the miracle
- 11:19Speaker 2: that you find Trinidad Chambliss, who was a D two
- 11:22Speaker 2: kid in the lands, like holy shit, need a quarterback,
- 11:24Speaker 2: let me go, like look on like the college football
- 11:27Speaker 2: dating app and just start searching you, which is literally
- 11:30Speaker 2: he just watched film. He's like, oh, this kid's okay.
- 11:33Speaker 1: So I mean it was supposed to be depth, you know,
- 11:36Speaker 1: like to challenge his guy, and sure enough he's taken over.
- 11:41Speaker 2: It would be it would be cool, just kind of
- 11:43Speaker 2: if if they did a thirty minute documentary on Champs.
- 11:46Speaker 2: It's like, dude, last year, you're playing D two ball
- 11:48Speaker 2: and I are in the SEC, like you could be
- 11:50Speaker 2: on the playoff like that. Dude's gotta be living a
- 11:52Speaker 2: good life. Say for that game though, you know what
- 11:56Speaker 2: just kind of hit me overall. And I'm obviously I
- 11:58Speaker 2: don't hate ou because I got a good friend that
- 12:00Speaker 2: takes me to the games. I'm not a Texas guy,
- 12:02Speaker 2: but you know they're their offense. I got, I got,
- 12:08Speaker 2: I fell asleep a little bit on the wheel. I
- 12:09Speaker 2: think I was impressed with how good material looked at
- 12:12Speaker 2: the start of the year. Chris over that game. But
- 12:15Speaker 2: maybe it is a hand thing. But Oklahoma's offense really
- 12:19Speaker 2: hasn't been that good this year. Like I think their
- 12:22Speaker 2: defense is every the ball? Yeah, is that an elite level? Oh?
- 12:27Speaker 2: They could run the ball for shit. The day at
- 12:29Speaker 2: the State Fair versus Texas, But every time I see
- 12:31Speaker 2: his oaklhum box sports man, it is almost poltine to
- 12:35Speaker 2: get them to score points that game versus Auburn, you
- 12:40Speaker 2: had you had to do a trick play which was
- 12:41Speaker 2: actually illegal, just wasn't caught. Like So this Oklahoma team,
- 12:45Speaker 2: I'm not saying they shouldn't be ranked where they are,
- 12:48Speaker 2: but man, when was the last time they had like
- 12:50Speaker 2: their breakout offensive game. So I'm not I'm not dropping
- 12:54Speaker 2: down Lands win. I'm happy my guy won, and their
- 12:57Speaker 2: playoff chances are good, as we talked about before the show,
- 13:00Speaker 2: But Oklahoma, man, you're almost wasting a year where you
- 13:04Speaker 2: have a top ten defense in your offense. Like, yes,
- 13:06Speaker 2: Mati is athletic, but man, they haven't played found the rhythm.
- 13:09Speaker 2: And this year they're not missing six wide receivers, they're
- 13:12Speaker 2: they got a quarterback who's decent, but they can't run
- 13:16Speaker 2: the ball and it's something's not clicking. Now, then their
- 13:20Speaker 2: chances are probably gonna be de because they still got
- 13:22Speaker 2: a lot of hard schedules to go.
- 13:23Speaker 1: But and we talked about it for his heisman candidacy,
- 13:27Speaker 1: that people were freaking them out early and also just
- 13:29Speaker 1: in general, like their schedule. It's just not no, it
- 13:33Speaker 1: can't be judged fully like, oh, boy better not be
- 13:36Speaker 1: fired or anything. And in Materier, if he's smart, he'd
- 13:40Speaker 1: come back, you know, And they come back in this
- 13:43Speaker 1: system and they can really make a run next year,
- 13:46Speaker 1: you know.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Yeah, hell, I'm still going to see them play in
- 13:49Speaker 2: tusc Loose this year, and you're going to Kneeland this week.
- 13:52Speaker 1: So.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Good luck there at those locations of it. Hey, Lane,
- 13:58Speaker 2: now you got four games year where you're gonna be
- 14:01Speaker 2: favored for the rest of the year, and you went
- 14:02Speaker 2: all four, you're in the playoff, could have possibly a
- 14:05Speaker 2: really high seeding, maybe being the SEC title game. Possibly that.
- 14:08Speaker 2: That's so many different dynamics things go there. But hey,
- 14:11Speaker 2: keep doing what you're doing, Hotty Toddy, and we'll see
- 14:14Speaker 2: what Boy does is the year goes on, hopefully not
- 14:16Speaker 2: to slip up like last year.
- 14:18Speaker 1: That's that's the difference. They cannot lose to the teams
- 14:22Speaker 1: they're not. You know. It's it's fine to lose to Georgia.
- 14:25Speaker 1: You gave them a hell of a game. It's one
- 14:27Speaker 1: to grow on, nothing wrong with that. But if they
- 14:30Speaker 1: go and lose another one, then all of a sudden,
- 14:33Speaker 1: you're like, now they're gonna Now they may not make it.
- 14:36Speaker 1: It's tough to say, you know, because then all of
- 14:38Speaker 1: a sudden, Okay, what's your best win and blah blah blah.
- 14:41Speaker 1: So we'll see, we'll see how that goes. But yeah,
- 14:44Speaker 1: they're they should, like, you know, they should make it.
- 14:49Speaker 1: And just talking about you know, how we had so
- 14:51Speaker 1: much hype earlier. You brought up Matier, but we also,
- 14:55Speaker 1: of course, you know, had a lot of these names
- 14:58Speaker 1: that were big time Heisman favorites, right and obviously they
- 15:04Speaker 1: fell off some, some majorly obviously, like you know, the
- 15:10Speaker 1: main guy everybody was talking about, Manny. But as the
- 15:14Speaker 1: weeks have gone on, it seems like every time someone
- 15:17Speaker 1: goes up, because Mateer then went up, then that went down.
- 15:21Speaker 1: If you look at Carson Beck, he was leading and
- 15:24Speaker 1: then he threw a bunch of picks, like it seems
- 15:27Speaker 1: like the leader this year. It's like, hey, maybe you
- 15:31Speaker 1: don't want to be in the number one spot because
- 15:33Speaker 1: you get dropped down right now. True at FanDuel Fernando
- 15:37Speaker 1: Mendoza is plus three point thirty, same with Ty Simpson.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Julian Sang is four hundred Marcus Reed, who I just
- 15:45Speaker 1: mentioned about the A and M before we hit record.
- 15:49Speaker 1: We'll talk about them too. Diego, Gunner, Stockton, Dante More
- 15:54Speaker 1: kind of fell off a little bit and then even
- 15:58Speaker 1: Jeremiah Loves arted out as one of the favorites. He
- 16:01Speaker 1: dropped down because they took some losses, but all of
- 16:05Speaker 1: a sudden he's having a great season. And same with
- 16:09Speaker 1: like Haines King. He was the leader. Then they started
- 16:12Speaker 1: having tight games and all of a sudden, it's like, oh,
- 16:14Speaker 1: hang on. So it's been kind of an interesting, you know,
- 16:20Speaker 1: way to get here. But yeah, it's almost like, man,
- 16:23Speaker 1: you do not want to be in the lead right
- 16:27Speaker 1: now because it's almost like a jinx. But we'll see,
- 16:31Speaker 1: you know how that that plays out. Vandy in Missou
- 16:39Speaker 1: a close, close game. Obviously, Diego scored with a little
- 16:43Speaker 1: under two minutes. I believe Missouri lost their quarterback, their
- 16:50Speaker 1: starting quarterback, and it was like, I think this is
- 16:54Speaker 1: their third quarterback now, because didn't their first one get hurt.
- 16:57Speaker 1: It was like a competition, so they're on their third quarterback.
- 17:02Speaker 1: I did think though that both like Hardy had a
- 17:08Speaker 1: good game. Twenty and ninety seven twenty carries, ninety seven.
- 17:13Speaker 1: That four point nine O clip. That's pretty damn good.
- 17:15Speaker 1: As did Young for Vandy. But if you look at
- 17:19Speaker 1: what they were, you know, rushing coming in, holding him
- 17:22Speaker 1: to one thirty six and even won seventy to an
- 17:24Speaker 1: extent on forty one rushes, I thought, actually the defenses
- 17:29Speaker 1: showed up in this one. Diego didn't necessarily have a
- 17:32Speaker 1: great game. He did. They just made enough plays that
- 17:35Speaker 1: Kevin Coleman was making plays. I think Coleman junior or
- 17:38Speaker 1: whatever was making a lot of plays. You know, it
- 17:44Speaker 1: was just a grind out game. They both scored in
- 17:47Speaker 1: the fourth quarter, and Vandy just got the job done.
- 17:50Speaker 1: And and you know, I do think that if you
- 17:53Speaker 1: look at overall talent, this is one of these guys
- 17:57Speaker 1: that you could point to who's having a damn goodyear
- 17:59Speaker 1: coaching too.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Oh yeah, clerk Lee is doing quite a fucking job.
- 18:07Speaker 2: And he talked about how on College Game Day, which
- 18:11Speaker 2: I actually watched for once, and I did miss the live
- 18:14Speaker 2: part of the guy that did the like the McAfee kick,
- 18:17Speaker 2: That dude played soccer. Holy dude, that kick was good
- 18:19Speaker 2: from fifty He bombed the shit out of that. So, yeah,
- 18:23Speaker 2: this was a game where Clark Lee on game day
- 18:25Speaker 2: talked about how he had to teach these guys how
- 18:28Speaker 2: to win and if you're a coach or it's kind
- 18:30Speaker 2: of good sports, like it's not a simple dump quotes,
- 18:32Speaker 2: but like they've been in a program that had struggled,
- 18:35Speaker 2: kind of like where I'm at. I'm not comparing my
- 18:37Speaker 2: coach in life, but I was at my high school.
- 18:39Speaker 2: I've coached a softball program. My first three years at
- 18:42Speaker 2: my school. We won four games in three years, and
- 18:45Speaker 2: now we've won twenty the last two. So it is
- 18:48Speaker 2: something that over time. Again I'm not saying I'm an
- 18:51Speaker 2: SEC football coach, but you do have to change the culture,
- 18:54Speaker 2: and that's something he's discussed. And I think that this
- 18:56Speaker 2: is one of those wins where this is a Dandy
- 19:01Speaker 2: win him changing culture because you've had some big gins.
- 19:03Speaker 2: You had the Bama game, then you had last week,
- 19:05Speaker 2: and now you've had this week versus Miszoo, and it's
- 19:08Speaker 2: like these are games in the past where Vandy doesn't
- 19:11Speaker 2: win because they don't have the skill level to keep
- 19:12Speaker 2: up that point. But even once you do get the
- 19:14Speaker 2: skill set, how can you come off a big win
- 19:17Speaker 2: followed by another win like it's hard to do so
- 19:21Speaker 2: and now I got Texas again. Now I'm just so
- 19:23Speaker 2: like the culture is changing. Hats off to Clerk League again.
- 19:28Speaker 2: You could get you can if you gave him coach
- 19:29Speaker 2: of the Year in the SEC over Dubor. I want
- 19:33Speaker 2: to argue with that. Uh, And it's just they keep
- 19:36Speaker 2: making steps in the right direction. If you're Missoo, that's
- 19:39Speaker 2: tough man. You've had You had a tough one at Auburn.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Now you have to go to Vandy. Your boys hustled
- 19:44Speaker 2: and work their asses off. You throw a hell Mary
- 19:48Speaker 2: you catch on the half yard line or there's no
- 19:50Speaker 2: t or maybe go for the win. That's that's that's heartbreaking.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Like you know, the back quarterback throws a fifty five
- 19:58Speaker 2: yard pass, need to be fifty six yards. That probably
- 20:01Speaker 2: wraps up in the Zoo's chances for the title spot,
- 20:04Speaker 2: which is tough because this was their easiest schedule. They're
- 20:06Speaker 2: probably gonna have the next four to five years.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Yeah, they need a lot to happen now.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Yeah, drink Woods apparently is on the list to go
- 20:14Speaker 2: to all the top schools to get to there eventually
- 20:16Speaker 2: with a new job opening up. But hey, Miszoo tough spot.
- 20:22Speaker 2: You feel for Forbula, he was gaining momentum, getting better,
- 20:25Speaker 2: getting better. I'm assuming he'll probably be back next year
- 20:28Speaker 2: again more likely, So tough one from a Zoo and
- 20:31Speaker 2: Vandy hate again. You're continuing to learn how to win
- 20:34Speaker 2: in new ways. So props to them. I guess we
- 20:37Speaker 2: are both kind of Pavia fans. I'm it's cool to
- 20:40Speaker 2: see a good story, but hey, realisticly, Chris Vandy could
- 20:43Speaker 2: be in the playoffs.
- 20:44Speaker 1: And oh yeah, good, yeah they have good They been
- 20:49Speaker 1: riding that wave for a while now. Just like, if
- 20:54Speaker 1: you're gonna keep giving me minus two and a half, dude,
- 20:56Speaker 1: I'm taking it. You know it's not even and I
- 20:59Speaker 1: already I made sure I jumped on it. I took
- 21:01Speaker 1: the money line, so I didn't even mess with the
- 21:03Speaker 1: one or two point game, you know. I took the
- 21:06Speaker 1: plus one sixteen and now it's a minus number for
- 21:09Speaker 1: money line for Vandy next week. So I'm already in man,
- 21:14Speaker 1: I'm I'm riding til the wheels fall off Dune. A
- 21:17Speaker 1: lot of people are obviously all right, Texas twenty four,
- 21:27Speaker 1: just seven in the fourth quarter, and then obviously you
- 21:30Speaker 1: know they won an O T shape and had three
- 21:36Speaker 1: eighty one through the air four touchdowns. Booth ran enough.
- 21:44Speaker 1: You know, I gotta give Arch some credit. I mean,
- 21:47Speaker 1: you know, ten carries for six yards isn't good because
- 21:50Speaker 1: you know that sacks or whatever. But he actually played
- 21:53Speaker 1: pretty good in this one. Now he did get hurt though,
- 21:56Speaker 1: so we'll see if that, you know, blends into this
- 22:01Speaker 1: week and their big game. Wingo had a huge game,
- 22:03Speaker 1: five for a buckety four the average. You had a
- 22:06Speaker 1: sixty two yard orty thirty six point eight average. Not bad.
- 22:12Speaker 1: There was obviously, you know, some some turnovers or just
- 22:18Speaker 1: one turnover I think, because there was fumbles, but only
- 22:21Speaker 1: a couple of them actually that they lost. You know,
- 22:26Speaker 1: they're twelve tackles for loss for Mississippi State. So they
- 22:29Speaker 1: were definitely getting home. You know, it looked like the
- 22:36Speaker 1: Texas run of tight games is just over. Like it's done. Dude,
- 22:42Speaker 1: you guys, you know it's it's finally happening. And given
- 22:48Speaker 1: that they have a home game Vandy at Georgia, you know,
- 22:53Speaker 1: Arkansas they're not chumps. And then A and M to
- 22:57Speaker 1: close this is obviously their hard part. It was almost
- 23:00Speaker 1: like they almost got caught looking ahead and somehow some
- 23:06Speaker 1: way Texas just keeps going. They somehow won this game,
- 23:13Speaker 1: and you feel bad. Mississippi State had that kind of
- 23:17Speaker 1: a comeback against a su or no, they had a
- 23:19Speaker 1: lead issue came back, but they ended up beating them.
- 23:21Speaker 1: But they haven't won speaking of heartbreak, you know, they
- 23:24Speaker 1: haven't won an SEC game, and it's just like they've
- 23:27Speaker 1: been so close and somehow Texas, you know, special teams
- 23:33Speaker 1: and everything, they just buy they got it done. I
- 23:36Speaker 1: don't believe in them, you know, because they I just
- 23:39Speaker 1: don't because of their schedule. But yeah, they freaking got
- 23:43Speaker 1: this one done. I'll tell you that.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Yeah, if they made the playoffs would be kind of
- 23:47Speaker 2: a miracle because you'd have.
- 23:49Speaker 1: To dude, if they went ten and two with the
- 23:51Speaker 1: remaining schedule, I may all of a sudden be high
- 23:54Speaker 1: on them going to the playoffs. You know.
- 23:57Speaker 2: Yeah, that's fair. That's fair. Hey, to be down seventeen
- 24:01Speaker 2: to the second half and it's come back and win,
- 24:06Speaker 2: that is kind of just that. Don't say quid attitude obviously.
- 24:09Speaker 2: You know people always like say, you know, because they
- 24:11Speaker 2: did that one video of the kids having all like
- 24:13Speaker 2: the like the fancy really cool sport cars in the
- 24:16Speaker 2: parking lot. So I mean, you got the money there.
- 24:18Speaker 2: It's not a lack of money, it's not a lack
- 24:19Speaker 2: of donations, it's not a lack of the cool probably
- 24:21Speaker 2: that maybe the best locker rooms in the country. But
- 24:26Speaker 2: they're they're they're they're They're a good B plus level
- 24:29Speaker 2: football team. They're not a level tier now. I know
- 24:32Speaker 2: they get the media recognition, but they're they're probably not
- 24:35Speaker 2: gonna be a playoff team this year, and they probably
- 24:36Speaker 2: shouldn't be now, Like you said, if they win, like
- 24:40Speaker 2: at if they beat Georgia, you know, they beat Vandy, alsener,
- 24:43Speaker 2: maybe turn around, but we've not seen them consistently have
- 24:46Speaker 2: an offense. They can get the job done with Arch again. Now,
- 24:53Speaker 2: he could easily improve next year easily and become a
- 24:58Speaker 2: higher level. But this has definitely probably not been the
- 25:02Speaker 2: year people expected. But I think we're now kind of
- 25:04Speaker 2: seeing a realistic expiation of where he's at now. So yeah, hey,
- 25:09Speaker 2: but a good, good come from behind win. There was
- 25:12Speaker 2: kind of a controversial overtime call. Some people think it
- 25:16Speaker 2: be a catch, some people wouldn't think it be a catch.
- 25:18Speaker 2: It obviously depends on your thoughts and your teams.
- 25:22Speaker 1: So you know you think that, right, because yeah, I
- 25:25Speaker 1: just think it.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, so in Texas's catch, to get a touchdown overtime,
- 25:33Speaker 2: the wide receiver basically you need to have a foot
- 25:38Speaker 2: down in college football. And when he caught the ball,
- 25:42Speaker 2: it looked like his the ball was maybe touching his
- 25:46Speaker 2: fingertips and it.
- 25:48Speaker 1: So is that shoulder yeah like that?
- 25:53Speaker 2: Yeah, and he was running full speed. So like from
- 25:56Speaker 2: all I've seen so many different calls here, it's like,
- 25:58Speaker 2: if the ball is just cressing your fingertips, is that
- 26:01Speaker 2: really complete control the ball? Because you need to see
- 26:03Speaker 2: a couple other times where it's like, ah, that's not
- 26:05Speaker 2: a catch.
- 26:05Speaker 1: But yeah, it also didn't move, that's true, you know
- 26:09Speaker 1: what I mean.
- 26:10Speaker 2: So the ball was in his hands technically, right. I
- 26:15Speaker 2: just think that if that's rule to catch, then there's
- 26:18Speaker 2: been a couple of calls sure, I'm like, yeah, okay,
- 26:21Speaker 2: or moving forward if if it's touch your fingertips, because
- 26:23Speaker 2: a lot of times it's like, well, yeah, you gotta
- 26:25Speaker 2: have complete control the ball. Well, he didn't have complete control.
- 26:28Speaker 2: The ball was on his hands, but it wasn't complete
- 26:30Speaker 2: control in my opinion for when I've heard it.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Also wasn't out of control. It wasn't wobbling or you
- 26:35Speaker 1: know that's fair, It was subject And it was the
- 26:39Speaker 1: first couple of weeks there was some NFL like calls. Yeah,
- 26:43Speaker 1: we were starting to scratch our head a little bit, like,
- 26:45Speaker 1: wait a second, you didn't You didn't do that to
- 26:47Speaker 1: our sport, did you.
- 26:49Speaker 2: True? So Hey, they got the job done again. Hey,
- 26:52Speaker 2: Mississippi State, you know we talked a lot. We've been
- 26:54Speaker 2: talking a lot about coaching. Hey, your special teams coach
- 26:57Speaker 2: just said, do not punt the fucking ball of that kid.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Because it was crazy. Was he had that punt return
- 27:02Speaker 2: versus Oklahoma and it was literally up the same sideline
- 27:05Speaker 2: and he had like five yards in no wiggle room,
- 27:07Speaker 2: and he did it again and Mississippi State, there was
- 27:11Speaker 2: literally two minutes left in the game. Chris, Hey, two
- 27:13Speaker 2: minutes left in the game. Your defense has played well.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Arch Manning is not gonna just go Eli or Peyton
- 27:19Speaker 2: on you probably, so, Hey, punt the ball out of
- 27:22Speaker 2: bounce or higher for a shorter distance your team can
- 27:26Speaker 2: get out of there. Yeah, but don't punt that ball
- 27:28Speaker 2: to that kid again, because now I'm sure someone else
- 27:30Speaker 2: is gonna do it again this year. But dude, that
- 27:32Speaker 2: Texas special teams coach is better than a lot of
- 27:34Speaker 2: other teams coaches and they're benefiting from that.
- 27:38Speaker 1: Yeah, And it's funny because not that it would have
- 27:40Speaker 1: mattered in Minnesota and Iowa, but uh that that dude's
- 27:45Speaker 1: a great returner. Uh for Iowa. Go figure, they got
- 27:48Speaker 1: a great returner and the player was told to kick
- 27:53Speaker 1: it out of bounce. He just didn't. He just realiked
- 27:57Speaker 1: up and the dude returned it, you know, like mother effort.
- 28:01Speaker 1: That guy has five overall and three in the like
- 28:05Speaker 1: last six games or something like that, some kind of
- 28:08Speaker 1: crazy number like that. Oh, here it is. It's a
- 28:11Speaker 1: five career return touchdowns in three in the last six games.
- 28:18Speaker 2: And then hard I'm not saying these right, but.
- 28:22Speaker 3: To get it out of bounce, you'd think that you
- 28:24Speaker 3: could get it out of bounce, you know, like yeah,
- 28:29Speaker 3: but entering today, right, entering today, FBS teams, and today
- 28:33Speaker 3: is Saturday.
- 28:35Speaker 1: Last Saturday, FBS teams had lost four hundred and twenty
- 28:40Speaker 1: nine straight games when trailing by at least seventeen points
- 28:44Speaker 1: with ten minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. They score
- 28:49Speaker 1: twenty four straight points to win the game, including overtime.
- 28:52Speaker 1: So that's how that shows you how rare that what
- 28:57Speaker 1: happened on that field was man, that was who But yeah,
- 29:02Speaker 1: I mean, if Andy don't get him, somebody's gonna get him.
- 29:06Speaker 1: It's just it's gonna happen. In other top twenty five news,
- 29:13Speaker 1: Michigan beat Michigan State. They did get a backdoor cover.
- 29:18Speaker 1: So you talked about a plus fourteen and a half
- 29:21Speaker 1: good call there. They used a really I think a
- 29:25Speaker 1: true freshman came in at the last little bit and
- 29:27Speaker 1: he went down to score. Houston. They they did their thing.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Even though Arizona State sorted sixteen points, They're sixteen to
- 29:36Speaker 1: zero in that fourth quarter, didn't matter. Houston ended up
- 29:40Speaker 1: winning that game. Illinois dropped the game to Washington. Washington
- 29:45Speaker 1: that Williams junior just all purpose offense forty two to
- 29:50Speaker 1: twenty five. Though that was kind of surprising the score.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Cincinnati keeps it rolling. They got a big game coming up,
- 29:57Speaker 1: forty one to twenty over Baylor. Louisville took care of
- 30:00Speaker 1: business Memphis seventeen to oh run to get the job
- 30:06Speaker 1: done and upset South Florida. I thought South Florida was
- 30:11Speaker 1: gonna win that game. That was a hell of a
- 30:15Speaker 1: you know, comeback, especially coming off a loss to UAB
- 30:18Speaker 1: and then you know that that's college football for you man.
- 30:23Speaker 1: And they had a fifty two or a fifty four
- 30:25Speaker 1: I think it was a fifty two yard field goal
- 30:27Speaker 1: celt Again, they had it lined up, just couldn't quite
- 30:33Speaker 1: get it over. Kentucky hung with Tennessee until they didn't
- 30:37Speaker 1: fifty six thirty four. They handled business. Virginia keep sneaking
- 30:43Speaker 1: by much like Georgia Tech a few weeks ago. Now
- 30:48Speaker 1: they've righted the ship and they're starting to beat teams cleanly.
- 30:51Speaker 1: Virginia better get their offense together seventeen and sixteen and ot.
- 30:55Speaker 1: But North Carolina fumbled the ball for the back to
- 30:59Speaker 1: back weeks now into the end zone for a touchback.
- 31:02Speaker 1: And then we talk about a couple of inches or
- 31:05Speaker 1: a foot, you know at the one yard line, Hail Mary,
- 31:09Speaker 1: this is like centimeters. It felt like inches on that
- 31:13Speaker 1: two point conversion. North Carolina ended up going for it,
- 31:15Speaker 1: it didn't get it. But Virginia, who a lot of
- 31:18Speaker 1: people don't realize. Yeah they're seven and one, and yeah
- 31:21Speaker 1: they lost to NC State, and yeah NC State does
- 31:24Speaker 1: play in the ACC. But it's kind of like the
- 31:27Speaker 1: Big twelve where that doesn't count as an ACC game.
- 31:32Speaker 1: Blame it on the big conferences. They're four and oh
- 31:35Speaker 1: still so in the accs, but they have to get
- 31:39Speaker 1: their shit together Otherwise, when you play with fire like this,
- 31:43Speaker 1: we know you end up getting burnt BYU eight and
- 31:47Speaker 1: oh now for the first time or first time back
- 31:50Speaker 1: to back in school history, because remember I think they
- 31:52Speaker 1: stretched it to nine or ten and oer last year
- 31:56Speaker 1: before they took their first loss. They I mean twenty
- 32:00Speaker 1: four to three in the second half, forty one to
- 32:02Speaker 1: twenty seven on the road. That was a big one.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Stanford kind of hung with scrappy it was seven to seven,
- 32:11Speaker 1: and then Miami blew them out. They got the run
- 32:13Speaker 1: game going, Georgia Tech blew out QS, Oregon got up
- 32:17Speaker 1: and then just kind of stuttered over Wisconsin. We'll see
- 32:21Speaker 1: they got a big game coming up. And then Indiana
- 32:24Speaker 1: just no mercy. Fifty six to nine or no fifty
- 32:29Speaker 1: six to six over Ukula. They just are showing no
- 32:33Speaker 1: mercy per usual. Any other items from the week that was, sir.
- 32:43Speaker 2: Just to kind of touch on a few those points
- 32:45Speaker 2: you just said. I really think the BYU win was impressive.
- 32:49Speaker 2: I did actually bet Iowa State first half and I
- 32:52Speaker 2: bet BYU live second half, So that was kind of
- 32:54Speaker 2: a rare win. Two bets in one game on two
- 32:57Speaker 2: different teams.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I love that because we discussed about how
- 33:02Speaker 1: or I kind of went off about yesterday I have.
- 33:05Speaker 2: I thought this was a hard spot for BYU coming
- 33:08Speaker 2: in Iowa State. Iowa State. It's done a great job
- 33:10Speaker 2: up sending people, especially in ames Iowa, and BYU had
- 33:14Speaker 2: just won a huge rivalry game verus Utah, which is
- 33:16Speaker 2: the Holy War, which is a rivalry not many people
- 33:19Speaker 2: know about. It's like, dude, you're gonna come in flat
- 33:21Speaker 2: Iowa State, and they did, but they were also down
- 33:25Speaker 2: fourteen they came back to win. So when I saw
- 33:29Speaker 2: that score get tied in the second half, early third quarter,
- 33:31Speaker 2: like dude, they're gonna win this fucking game, because like
- 33:34Speaker 2: you get punched in them out, you're off a rivalry game.
- 33:36Speaker 2: People can't blame me if you lose that one and
- 33:39Speaker 2: then you still come back and then the fourth quarter
- 33:42Speaker 2: you score a touchdown to get up seven, and then
- 33:44Speaker 2: you have a pick six a minute later, Like hey
- 33:48Speaker 2: do that? That's kind of like Bama, Like dude, it's
- 33:52Speaker 2: hard to win big games consistently in a row like,
- 33:55Speaker 2: so hats off BYU. That's a gritty fucking win that
- 33:58Speaker 2: in Iowa State. I know, it's not like Death Valley
- 34:00Speaker 2: or Kinnick at Night, but it's it's top ten hard
- 34:03Speaker 2: places to win. Yeah, it's tricky. So that was a.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Getting healthy too. They're getting healthier and healthier. So yeah,
- 34:11Speaker 1: I thought they'd do it, you know.
- 34:13Speaker 2: And Memphis they did have that blow up versus U
- 34:16Speaker 2: A B. I was kind of followed in a little
- 34:18Speaker 2: bit there. Their playoff chances aren't dead yet. If they
- 34:21Speaker 2: can win out and win the American Conference, Uh yeah,
- 34:26Speaker 2: they could be an out out, big outlier team. So
- 34:29Speaker 2: that that was They needed that one though, because if
- 34:31Speaker 2: they lost out Florida, their year would have been done
- 34:33Speaker 2: from playoff chance. But they bounced back and Miller Moss,
- 34:37Speaker 2: as usual, he kind of played this food a little bit.
- 34:40Speaker 2: Louisvo wasn't looking too pretty, but they got the job
- 34:42Speaker 2: done and saw the matters. So their playoffs aren't dead.
- 34:45Speaker 2: And my last one I did bet Cincinnati. I give
- 34:48Speaker 2: credit to Nick Staven. He was doing a little breakdown
- 34:50Speaker 2: of the Cincinnati's wide receivers now, but they got playmakers,
- 34:53Speaker 2: and I looked in the points spread, I was like, Okay,
- 34:56Speaker 2: I know Baylor's defense sucks. I bet they quite a
- 34:58Speaker 2: bit this year to have good offense already defense ain't good.
- 35:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:01Speaker 2: Yeah, and since and since he's actually having a really
- 35:03Speaker 2: nice year. Their only loss was the first lost years
- 35:06Speaker 2: versus Nebraska by three points, which it's Nebraska loss, but
- 35:09Speaker 2: still he says, like, damn if Nick Saban believes in it,
- 35:13Speaker 2: I'm like, I'll take a good offense versus a bad defense.
- 35:16Speaker 2: And that actually won me some money too, So it
- 35:17Speaker 2: was a very enjoyable, profitable Saturday. So hats off to Cincion.
- 35:24Speaker 2: They're quietly Chris having a really nice year, and they're
- 35:27Speaker 2: not out of it yet from the Big twelve at
- 35:28Speaker 2: all either, because that Nebraska loss doesn't hurt them by
- 35:31Speaker 2: any meanings.
- 35:32Speaker 1: So yeah, speaking up, they got a big game coming
- 35:35Speaker 1: up that we'll get into it just a short a
- 35:37Speaker 1: little bit.
- 35:38Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, well and you might as well just say it.
- 35:42Speaker 2: My best friend and I we had the Borough jerseys
- 35:44Speaker 2: on because I got like a burrow and speltmon cage words. Dude,
- 35:47Speaker 2: that was just a bad loss.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Well, that's all. I saved it for the last part.
- 35:52Speaker 2: Okay, okay, okay. Yeah, So that that one was a
- 35:56Speaker 2: tough one for LSU fans.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Twenty one to zero in the in the third quarter
- 36:04Speaker 1: and midway through the third when they had that kickout
- 36:06Speaker 1: or pump return or kickoff return punp return that it
- 36:10Speaker 1: was a rap after that, dude, yeah it you know.
- 36:14Speaker 2: And again I've not been the biggest fran Kelly guy.
- 36:17Speaker 2: I know you he win. Last records have been good,
- 36:20Speaker 2: it really has. But I do think, in my opinion,
- 36:23Speaker 2: I think he could earn himself this year and more.
- 36:27Speaker 2: But like the personality that he personifies and the personality
- 36:31Speaker 2: of like of a Cajun or of a coach, O
- 36:34Speaker 2: was just so different. I really felt he never quite
- 36:36Speaker 2: met that mold. Now again he's not a bad coach,
- 36:42Speaker 2: but of course, I just it just wasn't the mix
- 36:45Speaker 2: for him. And like the first day there, he tried
- 36:47Speaker 2: to doing like the music video, but hen tel it
- 36:49Speaker 2: wasn't him. He tried to use like his his fake
- 36:51Speaker 2: Cajun accent. People kind of like, dude, what the family?
- 36:54Speaker 1: The family at the basketball game, We just he's so
- 36:57Speaker 1: nice to our family.
- 36:59Speaker 2: And it just never what never was quite the nice
- 37:02Speaker 2: fit and you know, and and then so that gets
- 37:07Speaker 2: that gets the fans on your ass quicker, and now
- 37:09Speaker 2: even the governor was like when the governor's out on
- 37:12Speaker 2: you and the fans are on you and you have
- 37:14Speaker 2: some tough losses in a year where you could have
- 37:16Speaker 2: had a potential Heisman favorite candidate quarterback, I get it now.
- 37:20Speaker 2: I do think some other fires have been rushed the one.
- 37:23Speaker 2: This one makes a little more sense to me just
- 37:25Speaker 2: because of the pressure of LSU and you had a
- 37:28Speaker 2: bad loss and you've kind of had disappointing year. Again,
- 37:31Speaker 2: they deserve it, yeah, you know, but this one makes
- 37:34Speaker 2: a little more sense to me, more so than like
- 37:36Speaker 2: the to me and a billionairep you're firing, so you know,
- 37:39Speaker 2: and so.
- 37:40Speaker 1: I I agree with that because it's never really looked
- 37:43Speaker 1: great in Florida. But it still makes sense to me
- 37:49Speaker 1: because you know, he did go to the conference final
- 37:53Speaker 1: in the SEC and lost to the national champion Georgia,
- 37:56Speaker 1: which was a dominant team. But it still makes sense
- 37:59Speaker 1: to me. I the Napier, it never it never went
- 38:02Speaker 1: anywhere with Napier, Like he had a little run, but
- 38:08Speaker 1: it was it was too late. For a run, you
- 38:10Speaker 1: know what I mean. So it never went anywhere, you know,
- 38:14Speaker 1: like anywhere. But I agree it did make sense. And
- 38:18Speaker 1: here's a couple of reasons why beyond the fit. And
- 38:22Speaker 1: you know, head coaches are politicians. Yes, you know, when
- 38:26Speaker 1: when Saban was at Michigan State, he wasn't saying I.
- 38:30Speaker 1: He wasn't I et and everything I I. He wasn't
- 38:33Speaker 1: saying that. So it was just funny to see it,
- 38:37Speaker 1: you know, right that way. But to your point, the
- 38:41Speaker 1: last two Saban obviously left on his own, which was
- 38:45Speaker 1: a mistake, and I'm sure LSU fans hate him for
- 38:48Speaker 1: it because they went to Bama. But at least the
- 38:52Speaker 1: last two coaches that got fired, they got fired not
- 38:57Speaker 1: long after winning a championship. So if they fired the
- 39:04Speaker 1: last two coaches, well I shouldn't say not long after
- 39:07Speaker 1: for less Miles because less Miles that had been a while,
- 39:10Speaker 1: and less Miles like that was in a different area
- 39:14Speaker 1: where the era where the you had to wait a
- 39:17Speaker 1: year if you're going to transfer, So the program wasn't
- 39:21Speaker 1: a five hundred program when less Miles took over, right
- 39:25Speaker 1: from this sat right, but it had fallen off enough.
- 39:30Speaker 1: But he won a chip, So you got to give
- 39:32Speaker 1: him that. But he did get fired and then ed
- 39:36Speaker 1: he he won a CHIP and he got fired like
- 39:39Speaker 1: two years later. So at least the press that now,
- 39:44Speaker 1: that's in a different era those the ones I just described.
- 39:49Speaker 1: So we'll see ultimately if they do get a better coach. Right,
- 39:54Speaker 1: But to your point, it makes more sense. Like I said,
- 39:57Speaker 1: just because I disagree with the Florida thing, I'm still
- 40:00Speaker 1: on the same page with you as far as making sense,
- 40:02Speaker 1: because they did. They've already shown them that, Hey man,
- 40:06Speaker 1: if you don't want to chip within about four or
- 40:08Speaker 1: five six years, we're gonna kick you out. That's just
- 40:10Speaker 1: how it's gonna go. So yeah, that part made sense.
- 40:16Speaker 1: And like you said, the fit, you know that was
- 40:18Speaker 1: gonna be an issue unless you won games pretty early.
- 40:22Speaker 1: I know the Texas A and M straight people were
- 40:25Speaker 1: making a little bit more out of the strength and
- 40:28Speaker 1: conditioning coach. That's not why they lost games this year.
- 40:33Speaker 1: They had to replace four out of their five offensive
- 40:36Speaker 1: linemen and it just didn't work. He transferred the stuff,
- 40:38Speaker 1: but it didn't work. And you could make an argument
- 40:41Speaker 1: that if he had veterans and young players that he
- 40:47Speaker 1: could have taken with from Notre Dame when he came.
- 40:50Speaker 1: Would those guys be able to play fourth and fifth year? Sure,
- 40:54Speaker 1: but we're on a short lease in this era because
- 40:58Speaker 1: so much money isn't invested now, you know, so we're
- 41:03Speaker 1: seeing it now. Ultimately, will it payoff, we'll see. But
- 41:07Speaker 1: this Scott Woodward has some things to talk about. He
- 41:12Speaker 1: hired Jimbo Fisher, he hired Brian Kelly. That's one hundred
- 41:18Speaker 1: and seventy million dollars of guarantee money in there. So
- 41:24Speaker 1: I don't know, if you know, he needs to figure
- 41:28Speaker 1: out his shit, you know, because that's too on the
- 41:32Speaker 1: surface bad hirings, not good fits, you know. Obviously Fisher
- 41:37Speaker 1: was the offense stuff, but on the A and M side,
- 41:40Speaker 1: not to get away from that, speaking of good wide receivers,
- 41:45Speaker 1: like you said in the last one, they have two
- 41:48Speaker 1: top flight receivers and they brought him in through the
- 41:51Speaker 1: transfer the quarterback. If you look about a year ago,
- 41:55Speaker 1: we talked about before we hit record, they brought in
- 41:58Speaker 1: Marcel Reid at the half because they couldn't get shit going,
- 42:03Speaker 1: and then boom they took off and they beat the
- 42:06Speaker 1: hell out of LSU back to back years now, So
- 42:10Speaker 1: like you said, I think at home. He was twenty
- 42:12Speaker 1: and one at home at night. But when you get
- 42:16Speaker 1: beat like that at home, that means something to them.
- 42:19Speaker 1: And it's just but the defense, I'm still I still
- 42:24Speaker 1: got to find out about A and M to win
- 42:27Speaker 1: a championship with that defense. But the way they can
- 42:30Speaker 1: pass and run and Marcel's read in that system under
- 42:35Speaker 1: Elko has developed in a short amount of time. Before
- 42:38Speaker 1: he was like he can run, but Kenny pass. Well,
- 42:42Speaker 1: they put some talent around him. He got comfortable and
- 42:46Speaker 1: you know he's doing his damn thing. Yeah, real quick
- 42:50Speaker 1: before we get into week ten canal and this is positive. Okay,
- 42:55Speaker 1: I'm not getting on canal. But he put out a
- 42:58Speaker 1: suite that talked about this by nineteen seventy nine. Here
- 43:06Speaker 1: it is. Brian Kelly is the tenth coach fired in
- 43:09Speaker 1: the season this year, the most coaches fired before November
- 43:13Speaker 1: since nineteen seventy eight. And we were talking about how
- 43:19Speaker 1: I doubt there was this many high profile LSU, Florida,
- 43:25Speaker 1: Penn State, Auburn could still come open, you know, I mean, UCLA, Arkansas,
- 43:33Speaker 1: it is. There's gonna be a lot of movement, and
- 43:36Speaker 1: you know, like, who do you think like there's odds
- 43:41Speaker 1: for who's gonna take over a popular one? Is that
- 43:44Speaker 1: coordinator that really in that twenty nineteen came Joe Brady.
- 43:49Speaker 1: Remember he came for that one year and he's been
- 43:51Speaker 1: in the Rows ever since. Yea, not taking anything away
- 43:55Speaker 1: from coach Oe. But the year before they had the
- 44:00Speaker 1: same offense in Burrow was. I checked it before the show.
- 44:06Speaker 1: He was under sixty percent completion, which is not good.
- 44:10Speaker 1: They were ten and three that year though because they
- 44:13Speaker 1: won a bowl game. They were nine to three, but
- 44:15Speaker 1: their offense was pretty good, but you thought it was underachieving.
- 44:19Speaker 1: He comes Joe Brady one year and they have probably
- 44:24Speaker 1: the best offense of all time. You have to at
- 44:27Speaker 1: least debate that. I mean, I think it probably is,
- 44:30Speaker 1: you know, just off the talent now that we've seen
- 44:32Speaker 1: in the pros. But then you know, after that, it
- 44:36Speaker 1: was like five hundred years back to back. So I
- 44:41Speaker 1: wonder if Brady's gonna get in there. Otherwise, Lane Kiffin,
- 44:47Speaker 1: what did you think if Lane went there? Do you
- 44:49Speaker 1: think that because you can look at him and say,
- 44:52Speaker 1: well he was he had a team at USC that
- 44:55Speaker 1: was number one and they finished six and six or whatever.
- 44:58Speaker 1: You know, so what does he done to earn that job?
- 45:01Speaker 1: I mean, what what do you think they're gonna do? Man?
- 45:05Speaker 2: I do think that Lane's name is getting lingered on
- 45:08Speaker 2: all the jobs. Apparently said no to Florida, But that
- 45:11Speaker 2: doesn't mean a whole lot right now. Just because he's
- 45:14Speaker 2: currently an old miss having a good year. I kind
- 45:18Speaker 2: of hope one of them takes drink with you know,
- 45:20Speaker 2: I'm not a huge fan of the Zoo. I do
- 45:22Speaker 2: he's had a good numbers when last record, I just don't.
- 45:25Speaker 2: He just comes off kind of as a jerk.
- 45:27Speaker 1: But I don't know.
- 45:28Speaker 2: The drink with his name is popped up there. Lane
- 45:30Speaker 2: Kiffin's name is popped up there. All the fired coaches.
- 45:33Speaker 2: You know, it's kind of becoming. College football is going
- 45:35Speaker 2: to kind of become like EPL soccer to where you're
- 45:38Speaker 2: gonna see these guys get fired consistently. But then they're
- 45:41Speaker 2: just gonna take turns switching spots for other people. Yeah,
- 45:44Speaker 2: just the same thing with hockey to hockey.
- 45:46Speaker 1: And Kelley could go to Penn State, you know what
- 45:48Speaker 1: I mean?
- 45:49Speaker 2: And and yeah, maybe Napier or Franklin go to one.
- 45:54Speaker 2: He's you know, like, you know, they're probably not gonna
- 45:58Speaker 2: all hire people that are like up and Hummers. They
- 46:00Speaker 2: could it's made not the bad idea either, But I
- 46:06Speaker 2: think that of l s U Miami and sorry LSU Florida.
- 46:11Speaker 1: And slow down Penn State.
- 46:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I think LSU is the most intriguing. I bet
- 46:21Speaker 2: each fan base and boosters thinks they're the best. But
- 46:23Speaker 2: I do think LSU would be the number one most
- 46:26Speaker 2: high profile job. You know, I'm not saying Penn State
- 46:29Speaker 2: and Florida are bad programs, but I don't think they're
- 46:32Speaker 2: LSU with like the death value the name to it.
- 46:34Speaker 1: Yeah. So and you can tell. I mean they've had
- 46:37Speaker 1: three championships in the two thousands, you know.
- 46:39Speaker 2: Yeah, yes, and they Vegas did favor when I saw
- 46:47Speaker 2: this past weekend, like the Tulane guy is the number one?
- 46:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I saw that.
- 46:50Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's interstate. But I was I asked my
- 46:53Speaker 2: good ll SU friend, like there any ties, Like, no,
- 46:55Speaker 2: it's just maybe it's interstate guy having a good year
- 46:58Speaker 2: in Tulane. But to me, that's a little you can't
- 47:01Speaker 2: like I think that that would have made me scratch
- 47:03Speaker 2: my head a little bit. Okay, you don't want to
- 47:04Speaker 2: go high profile, Okay, but.
- 47:06Speaker 1: Also can't just get a Louisiana coach either, though, yeah,
- 47:10Speaker 1: I mean, okay, just because you know, you can't just
- 47:13Speaker 1: do it to do it, you know, so who knows.
- 47:17Speaker 2: I think it'll be a very interesting free agency coaching here,
- 47:21Speaker 2: but I also expect to have the same ship next year.
- 47:25Speaker 2: You don't say the one that I think should be
- 47:27Speaker 2: fired if just throw it like Luke Fickle Wisconsin. I
- 47:31Speaker 2: know you're not a Wisconsin guy because you're bad or
- 47:33Speaker 2: a Gopher fan, but if you want to look at
- 47:35Speaker 2: a program that has literally dropped off the map, like
- 47:41Speaker 2: who's dropped Okay, the only school you could say is
- 47:43Speaker 2: dropped off more is Oklahoma State and Gundhy is fired.
- 47:48Speaker 2: But if you look at what Wisconsin, I'm not saying
- 47:50Speaker 2: that Wisconsin has.
- 47:51Speaker 1: Ever dropped off the map. Yeah, but to your point,
- 47:55Speaker 1: he got.
- 47:56Speaker 2: Fired, you know, yeah, but Wisconsin that used to be
- 47:59Speaker 2: a pretty He's thirty eight to nine wins every year.
- 48:03Speaker 2: They've they've gotten the point out where they're they're Chris,
- 48:07Speaker 2: They're there. Their team total of points versus Oregon this
- 48:10Speaker 2: week to score in a game was six and a half.
- 48:13Speaker 2: That was for the whole game. So I'm I'm surprised
- 48:17Speaker 2: Fickle's not been fired because I know Belamo is kind
- 48:20Speaker 2: of a weird dude, but I'm just for they're they're
- 48:23Speaker 2: a pretty good program, So I'm just surprised he's not
- 48:25Speaker 2: been let go yet. Compared to the short leashes, a
- 48:28Speaker 2: lot of these other guys have been already cut off
- 48:31Speaker 2: from well.
- 48:33Speaker 1: And the former coach shouldn't have been fired yet, I thought,
- 48:39Speaker 1: now bringing in Fickle, it's this year three and and
- 48:43Speaker 1: he and he has gotten a quarterback every time, probably
- 48:48Speaker 1: two to three quarterbacks have gotten hurt every year. So
- 48:52Speaker 1: he's He's cycled through a bunch of these transfer quarterbacks
- 48:55Speaker 1: and none of them have worked out. But and and
- 48:58Speaker 1: to be fair, it's a huge buyout that they don't
- 49:02Speaker 1: necessarily have, you know what I mean, that's fair, that's
- 49:05Speaker 1: a little different. But to your point though, here Marshall,
- 49:09Speaker 1: he tried to put in the air raid at Wisconsin
- 49:13Speaker 1: and then this year changed it. Well, guess what if
- 49:17Speaker 1: you've recruited to the air raid. First of all, that's
- 49:20Speaker 1: a big mistake. Second of all, you can't just go
- 49:23Speaker 1: away from the air raid then all of a sudden,
- 49:25Speaker 1: because then you're in between. And that's what we're seeing,
- 49:29Speaker 1: you know. So I when they hired him, I was
- 49:33Speaker 1: very afraid, you know, I got admit, I was like,
- 49:36Speaker 1: motherfucker that dude. He built up Cincinnati. When they get
- 49:41Speaker 1: like eight dudes drafted off that defense, they gave Georgia
- 49:44Speaker 1: a good run, you know, Like I was afraid, dude.
- 49:48Speaker 1: But when you go air raid at Wisconsin, dog, you
- 49:51Speaker 1: better have Wilson then, you know, like you better have
- 49:55Speaker 1: like I mean, I just didn't line up. Makes no
- 49:58Speaker 1: sense to run that in a system. And that was
- 50:01Speaker 1: a head scratcher. So I'm really happy that that hasn't
- 50:04Speaker 1: worked out. The level of big ten coach now, if
- 50:09Speaker 1: you compare it to five years ago, is super high,
- 50:12Speaker 1: but he is underachieved. I do think though a lot
- 50:15Speaker 1: of it has to do with oh boyd probably shouldn't
- 50:18Speaker 1: have been fired Christ Chris, Chris shouldn't have been fired.
- 50:25Speaker 1: And I think that some of the we're gonna see
- 50:27Speaker 1: some of these that's happening this year that you're like, dude,
- 50:31Speaker 1: you know, And and to your point about Florida, I
- 50:34Speaker 1: don't know their schedules coming up, but I assume there's
- 50:38Speaker 1: no way it could be harder. Same with Oklahoma and
- 50:41Speaker 1: that's why I'm saying, do not fire him. You know,
- 50:45Speaker 1: go in the next year's schedule, which couldn't be any harder,
- 50:49Speaker 1: and come back with a quarterback and the system and
- 50:52Speaker 1: all that, you know. So so we'll see, man. I
- 50:55Speaker 1: do think that we're starting to get a little two
- 51:00Speaker 1: out of control with this, and the boosters are speaking
- 51:05Speaker 1: louder than they ever have agreement, you know. So whether
- 51:09Speaker 1: that's good or not, we're gonna find out. All right,
- 51:12Speaker 1: it was a long segment because you know, we got
- 51:15Speaker 1: another every week, we got a new coach fired. Let's
- 51:19Speaker 1: go to Vandy in Texas number nine at number twenty.
- 51:25Speaker 1: We've talked about how the underachieving you know, I mean,
- 51:28Speaker 1: they're only averaging one on the ground.
- 51:31Speaker 2: I'll tell you this, bark Lee ain't getting fired this year.
- 51:34Speaker 2: Even if Vandy loses it out, bark Lee ain't getting
- 51:36Speaker 2: fired this year. I'll tell you that, that's for sure.
- 51:39Speaker 1: And in same with Texas. Now they do Texas all Still,
- 51:45Speaker 1: what's that.
- 51:46Speaker 2: If let's say, let's say Texas finishes seven and.
- 51:50Speaker 1: Four, well, they're not going to finish seven and four,
- 51:54Speaker 1: that's possible. So they least lose three out of their
- 51:59Speaker 1: last four. Yeah, I still wouldn't do it.
- 52:04Speaker 2: I think I think you would be easier to blame Marge. Sorry, yeah,
- 52:07Speaker 2: you're right, search price safe.
- 52:09Speaker 1: I mean, if you don't make the runs they made
- 52:17Speaker 1: the last two years and get all those pro players drafted.
- 52:22Speaker 1: So in reality, this is a retooling year, so I
- 52:26Speaker 1: think that would be a huge mistake. I think that
- 52:29Speaker 1: would be silly, but you never know. We'll see either way. Though.
- 52:35Speaker 1: They stop the run eighty one a game, and we
- 52:38Speaker 1: know Vandy wants to run and their defense is still legitimate.
- 52:44Speaker 1: But Vandy stops the run too. And here we are,
- 52:48Speaker 1: Marshall a plus two and a half, except now it's
- 52:53Speaker 1: a plus instead of a minus. The last few weeks
- 52:55Speaker 1: it's been a minus. I have seen it down to
- 52:58Speaker 1: one and a half, and i've seen it a minus
- 53:01Speaker 1: money line on Fox Sports. You still have a plus
- 53:04Speaker 1: one fifteen. I got it for a plus one sixteen
- 53:08Speaker 1: for Vandy. I've already made the bet. What says you
- 53:11Speaker 1: in this one.
- 53:11Speaker 2: Here, sir Ah? Now I get that the sec it
- 53:19Speaker 2: just means more. But again, with all my years of betting,
- 53:26Speaker 2: which has been longer than I probably should ever have
- 53:28Speaker 2: done it, this tells you this is a great spot
- 53:33Speaker 2: for Texas due to what Vandy's been going through. Now
- 53:36Speaker 2: Bama has said, f you, dude, I don't care about
- 53:38Speaker 2: the Hardys' It's gonna keep winning them. But that is
- 53:41Speaker 2: a true rarity because if you look at Vandy's schedule, now,
- 53:45Speaker 2: this is their fourth Dama LSU Maszoo.
- 53:49Speaker 1: So this is our fourth ranked team.
- 53:51Speaker 2: Yeah, and you're going to Texas and this is really
- 53:56Speaker 2: something you're used to. And you just had game Day
- 53:58Speaker 2: and you beat Maszoo. Like, everything tells me you just
- 54:02Speaker 2: gotta Vandy's due for a letdown. Everything tells me it.
- 54:07Speaker 2: So if if I was, if if I had, if
- 54:11Speaker 2: someone gave me their money, I would go bet Texas
- 54:14Speaker 2: for that person, I personally will not see on this
- 54:17Speaker 2: show that I would bet them. But if if you
- 54:19Speaker 2: loan me some money, I would bet free on my
- 54:21Speaker 2: book you this weekend. I just can't go on the
- 54:23Speaker 2: air and say horns up. I think this is just
- 54:26Speaker 2: a really really hard spot again. Line of scrimmage, the
- 54:30Speaker 2: front four we saw when they played Bama. They impressed me.
- 54:33Speaker 2: They didn't get shoved around, they lost the end they
- 54:35Speaker 2: were it was head to head.
- 54:37Speaker 1: The Texas offens the line is a mess, and we
- 54:39Speaker 1: don't even know if Art is playing.
- 54:41Speaker 2: Yeah, so that's and that's probably indicative why the point
- 54:44Speaker 2: spread is what it is. So I'm never everything is
- 54:50Speaker 2: set up for a Texas win.
- 54:51Speaker 1: I'll just say that, well I will. I hear what
- 54:54Speaker 1: you're saying. But it almost feels like they when they
- 54:58Speaker 1: lost the Florida they came back and you know you right,
- 55:01Speaker 1: but then they've been skating by sixteen to thirteen. They
- 55:05Speaker 1: had to do something that hasn't been done in four
- 55:07Speaker 1: hundred would I say four hundred and twenty nine times
- 55:10Speaker 1: or something? Yea, Like they've been barely scraping two and
- 55:14Speaker 1: they're gonna kick the ball out of bounce this week. Marshall, Yes, yeah, So,
- 55:20Speaker 1: but I understand what you're saying. I do get it.
- 55:23Speaker 1: You know, these are trends. It is a letdown and
- 55:29Speaker 1: something's gotta give. I mean, we I mentioned with Virginia too,
- 55:34Speaker 1: like you're either gonna come out and just click and
- 55:38Speaker 1: win it by double digits or you're gonna be in
- 55:41Speaker 1: a fucking fourth quarter game again. And who do you
- 55:44Speaker 1: trust in a fourth quarter game? In this game? Oh well,
- 55:48Speaker 1: I diego, DIEGOA true you're right.
- 55:53Speaker 2: You're right.
- 55:54Speaker 1: And I'll say this historically speaking, you don't jump off
- 56:01Speaker 1: the wagon until it lost the wheel. Okay. So like
- 56:05Speaker 1: I'm going with Diego until he fails me.
- 56:08Speaker 2: Okay, okay, okay.
- 56:10Speaker 1: And I even took the points away. I said, I
- 56:11Speaker 1: don't want to mess with a one and a half
- 56:13Speaker 1: or anything like that, and they end up losing by
- 56:15Speaker 1: two and I lose the bat, you know, so I
- 56:19Speaker 1: took plus one sixteen. I'm going with it. I'm ride
- 56:23Speaker 1: with Diego until he fails me. Okay, just how I'm going.
- 56:28Speaker 1: So you're picking Texas to win.
- 56:31Speaker 2: For a friend.
- 56:33Speaker 1: On the show. Yeah, yeah, okay, and I'm going bandy.
- 56:37Speaker 1: But but but to your point, you are making fair
- 56:41Speaker 1: more than fair points because it is you know, it
- 56:46Speaker 1: is a spot that we've seen plenty.
- 56:48Speaker 2: Of Vandy can pull this off. Damn that that's a
- 56:52Speaker 2: really another impressive win for dark Leeton.
- 56:56Speaker 1: Mm hmm yep. And there's also a look I had
- 57:00Speaker 1: spot too. I mean we've listed who they got Dude
- 57:04Speaker 1: A and M in Georgia, Like, I mean, it's Texas
- 57:09Speaker 1: really needs this. But you know, you could make an
- 57:12Speaker 1: argument Vandy does too, you know, because they have a loss,
- 57:17Speaker 1: and you know, in the end, I don't think Texas
- 57:20Speaker 1: will be ranked at the end.
- 57:21Speaker 2: Of the year. No, I know if they are.
- 57:24Speaker 1: Now, maybe at the very end when they win a
- 57:26Speaker 1: bowl game or something, you know, get in the top
- 57:29Speaker 1: twenty five. But I'm saying, you know, because they're gonna
- 57:31Speaker 1: lose and they're already maybe shouldn't be ranked as it is.
- 57:35Speaker 1: They're only ranked as they beat Oklahoma. So all right,
- 57:39Speaker 1: number seventeen Cincinnati, we just mentioned them at number twenty four. Utah,
- 57:46Speaker 1: it's a nine to fifteen Central Time ESPN game. Soresby
- 57:52Speaker 1: nineteen TDS one interception and then that came in Nebraska
- 57:59Speaker 1: a long time ago. Can you believe on Saturday it's
- 58:05Speaker 1: November first, dude, we're in week fucking ten. It's just
- 58:10Speaker 1: it's crazy. But you know, think about November is we
- 58:14Speaker 1: do this every week or every year. Ah, the year
- 58:17Speaker 1: is almost done and we start to line up who
- 58:20Speaker 1: we think is gonna be where, and then November comes
- 58:23Speaker 1: and then five weeks of like oh shit, oh shit.
- 58:26Speaker 1: So my guess is it'll be another November to remember.
- 58:30Speaker 1: So you can sit there and say, oh, I got this,
- 58:33Speaker 1: this is how this is going to go down and
- 58:35Speaker 1: then all help. Right, So let's look at what happened
- 58:37Speaker 1: last year for christ sakes, so we'll see how it
- 58:40Speaker 1: ultimately ends up. But how do you see this one
- 58:42Speaker 1: playing out, my friend? Because in Utah is playing the
- 58:46Speaker 1: quarterback game again, they're playing the quarterback. He's healthy, he's
- 58:50Speaker 1: not healthy, but he is healthy. He's been practicing, but
- 58:52Speaker 1: he's not practicing. How do you see this one playing out?
- 58:57Speaker 2: The old ass boy who would have been on like
- 58:58Speaker 2: year thirteen by now.
- 58:59Speaker 1: Either yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 59:03Speaker 2: Man, you know, just saying that, like I gotta go
- 59:08Speaker 2: with Cincy. Hey, you had one slip up hiccup versus Nebraska.
- 59:13Speaker 2: Your offense is legit. You have been kind of surprising people.
- 59:18Speaker 2: I think the main reams I'm doing this, Chris, is
- 59:20Speaker 2: just because I again I we want to talk about
- 59:23Speaker 2: coaches who I think are my favorites and what I
- 59:26Speaker 2: and you can vouch him I've said this year is
- 59:28Speaker 2: I think what Witning you haven't has done at Utah
- 59:29Speaker 2: is one of the best coaching jobs we'll see in
- 59:31Speaker 2: our lifetime for any sport. That because I mean, I know,
- 59:35Speaker 2: besides what Meyer did, like Utah is not an elite program,
- 59:38Speaker 2: but They're winning nine to ten games almost every year.
- 59:41Speaker 2: So that guy's tremendous coach. He just has had some
- 59:43Speaker 2: bad luck with the quarterback calls. So I'm gonna I'm
- 59:48Speaker 2: gonna go with since I just think since he's a
- 59:49Speaker 2: better team this year. Oh it's again, And I said
- 59:51Speaker 2: that because of what Texas Tech did to them, Like
- 59:54Speaker 2: Utah has lost games in the past. This year, but
- 59:58Speaker 2: Utah got pummeled at home, which normally doesn't happen.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: They didn't have their quarterback, they got destroyed.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: Yeah, yes, So I just think that there may be
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: they're down just a couple of steps this year, which
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: for them is rare. But I think they're down a
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: little bit. So I'm gonna take since you to keep
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: that modro going a little bit. You had a good
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: win versus Bailey, you know, the year going in the
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: right direction. I just think this is a rare Utah
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: down year, which we don't say after this show at all.
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: So I'll take I'll take the Bearcats. Surprisingly, it feels
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: weird saying that, but I'll take Bearcats.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: I wouldn't call it a down year. I think last
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: year was a down year. I think the last two years.
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: The quarterback injuries again.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I already have a plus ten and a half. Oh,
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: got it early.
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: That's a lot of I'll take those points.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: Yes, I mean I'm looking at it's nine right now.
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: Okay, I'll probably drain you on that, sir.
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: And you know the the Fox facts. Dan Pierre Ankle
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: is feeling better each day, but it'll take time to
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: assess his health in progression.
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: So you've done this ship for three years.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: I know. And it is too bad that the coach,
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: like I respect that he stayed at Utah, but I
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: sure would have loved to see him in a big
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: conference and see how he did there. It's like the
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: only missing piece to his ship, because you're right, he
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: you know, he he definitely like you know, and shoot
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: Ah urban Meyer was at Utah if I remember correctly, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: because he was a like Bowling Green someplace else too. Anyway,
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: will Devin Dampier if damp Year plays, I think Utah
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: is gonna win. I'm gonna go. I don't know, man,
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: I'm gonna go Utah just be on the opposite. But
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: I already said I'm doing the plus number. Yeah, but
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: since he is different and you know, it. They're different
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: this year. Man, that dude's doing a good job too. Oklahoma,
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: who's now six and two, it feels like they've lost
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: more than that is visiting Tennessee. This is a night game,
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: ABC Prime Time. We know they stop the run, which
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: is you know, a pretty key. They can pass Tennessee,
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: but they average almost one hundred and eighty nine you
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: rushing yards, but they give up thirty one points a game.
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: So I think this is a very tight game. I
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: think Vegas is telling us that because you know three
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: and a half three, I've seen it two and a half.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: I've seen a little higher. Fox Sports has it at
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: three and a half. What says you, I want to
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: think Tennessee is gonna be able to Joey a guilt,
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: but honestly, like, I don't know, they give up some rush,
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: but we know, you know, Oklahoma can't run the ball.
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: So I just feel like when Oklahoma getst in the
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: red zone this year, they've done pretty good, but it's
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: getting to the red zone. So I like Tennessee at home,
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: but I'm not like one sold on it just because
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: Tennessee does give up a lot of points. Now you
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: can also say who they give those up to well, Arkansas,
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: who you know, Mississippi State put up thirty four on them,
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: so you know they gave up thirty four to Kentucky,
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: and Kentucky's not really known as a put up a
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: bunch of points team, you know, but they I got Tennessee.
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: I'll just put it right there.
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: I'll take Rocky Top for my sister too. I do
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: think that I just think I don't see Oklahoma winning
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: an Eland, Like, what is this Oklahoma offense done for
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: us in the past month to show us they win
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: a tough game on the road. I do think it'll
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: be a little more higher score than usual, but I
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: would just be really surprised to SeeU offense got a
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: herd environment and just get a road win. And also,
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: this is a if you lose the game, your playoff
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: chances are probably done. And Tennessee's got an easier path
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: moving forward than Oklahoma does, so I know this kind
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: of must win for either. It kind of could be
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: a playoff liamination game, but I will take Tennessee. I
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: just I don't see Materier winning on the road. Now,
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: obviously I'm biased because I watched that Texas State Fair game,
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: but man, that offense is just it said her show,
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: It just doesn't get to a flow. I don't think
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: Tennessee drops fifty. I don't use that either. That that
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: Oklahoma defense is legit. But I'll take Rocky Top at
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: home for this one.
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: Well, if you're ever gonna be able to put some
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: points up and move the ball consistently, this is the
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: defense to do it on. But we'll see. I'm right
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: there with you. You know, at the beginning of the year,
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: this this would this game would have had so many storylines.
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: Penn State at Ohio State, Penn State, Indiana that that
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: those were, you know, high profile match. Ship's no longer Georgia.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Will they slip up? But Florida could Florida plus seven
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: and a half. Maybe Virginia I talked about Virginia. They're
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: at Cal. It's an afternoon game though, so at least
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: it's not a super late night travel in a late
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: night but it's a long travel game. Four and a
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: half Virginia. I'm kind of eyeballing that maybe Cal pulls
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: the upset old miss. They're at home, but they gotta
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: take care of business. That plus twelve and a half.
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: I'm kind of eyeballing. I think they'll win, but you
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: never know. And then USC in Nebraska. I want to
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: get your thoughts on USC Nebraska. How do you see
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: this one breaking down? It's the NBC primetime six thirty
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: game at Nebraska.
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: I think USC is definitely the better team, and this
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: isn't one for Lincoln where you're like, you're not supposed
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: to win. I think USC wins this game. Yeah, and
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: they're they're they're alside this if this would be an
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: elimination year for USC in the playoff chances too, I'm
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: not saying it's a higher level, but if USC runs
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: the table, they could they could have a chance to
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: sneak in. Not they have a chance soon yeah, true, Yeah,
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: So I think this is when Lincoln's gotta win. I
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: think they should win again, hopefully a little different play
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: calling than we saw a versus n A name game.
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: Who knows what running back they have in there, because
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: they've kind of been a running back by committee, dude injuries.
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: But what is Nebraska done to beat a high level
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: team this year? I know they did beat since the
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: first week of the year. Besides, it was lucky yeah,
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: and hey, and when Nebraska from Okay, I would say
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: the Gophers are probably on par with USC. Maybe USC
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: is a slight notch better slightly, But if the Gophers
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: can sack the No. Nebraska like nine times in the game,
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: like us, you know, I know, I know week two
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: weeks very but like Nebraska, what are you doing?
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: That's something they do really well expressed of the quarterback.
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: Yeah, so I just think, Yeah, I think the USC
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: wins this one again to Vegas. Vegas, making USC a
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: six and a half point road favorite is all I
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: gotta know, like, because that normally doesn't happen for USC
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: in big games.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought it was a little wide. But the
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: more I thought about it, using that Minnesota thing, it's
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: like they take chances sometimes too much chances with the
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: blitz or like worry about rushing and maybe they won't
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: fill their run lane or whatever. But like you know,
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: they're really they're one of the top teams that get
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: into the quarterback USC. Right. They got to do in
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: the offensive line, especially the tackles, which is the worst
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: thing to be bad. It's huge, you know, so I think.
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: And then also Minnesota has been hasn't been their normal.
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: They pass better than they run, which is a rarity, yes,
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: but they were able to put like a buck eighty something,
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: so you know, odds are that that's just a bad combination.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: So I have USC winning two and but you know
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: Nebraska could this when the pressure's off them to an extent.
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: I mean it's not often because they got to win,
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: but you know, you wonder about that. But yeah, they
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: So if they do win, they got Northwestern. USC has
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: Northwestern at home, which they haven't improved defense, then they
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: have Iowa at home, which they haven't approved offense from
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: last year. And then they have at Oregon and UCLA,
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: who's better now than they were at the beginning of
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: the year. So they have their They got one of
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: the toughest schedules, you know, in the whole Big ten.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: So it's not like the work would be done, but
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: it's it's a challenging schedule. I think it really will
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: pay off for next year if you just look at
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: the trending. I will say this against the spread, I
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: mentioned some of them plus twelve and a half, even
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: plus thirteen and a half, I've seen SMU Miami. SMU
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: dropped a game they shouldn't have last week and they
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: didn't score a whole lot with Wake, but you just
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: never know it's at SMU. Maybe they get up for
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: the game. Ruggers plus twelve and a half versus Illinois.
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: I think Illinois wins the game, but Rutgers can score
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: plus three and a half. Dude, Clemson. Here's another one.
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: So Auburn has a defense, we know that, but we
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: know their offense struggles. They're plus ten against Kentucky. It
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: kind of makes me think, hmm, I wonder if they
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: can keep that plus number within range. Here's a funny
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: thing about Week ten, right, So Chris Phillips on Twitter
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: in August, this is just this kind of goes to
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: show the preseason rankings, and I'm glad that we're We
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: don't even know they do influence. Of course they do,
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: but they're not the rankings, he said in August. Just remember,
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: if you're a if your friend asked you to do
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: anything November first, other than Washington College football, they're not
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: your real friend. Right. So, Penn State it was two
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: against three Penn State, Ohio State, Miami was ten, SMU
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: was sixteen, Arizona State we didn't even mention this game eleven.
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: Iowa State was twenty two. South Carolina was thirteen old,
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: MISSUS twenty one, Texas Tech in Tech and Kansas State
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: twenty three, seventeen, the Oklahoma Tennessee holds, and then Georgia
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: Florida Florida was ranked fifteenth. So this was supposed to
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: be one of the best you know, game or weeks
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: of the college football season. However, don't you dare look
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: at this week and think, oh, it's a shitty week,
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: because that's when shit pops off, as we know in
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: college football.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: My friend, Yeah, just like I think that Georgia Tech
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: is quietly having a really good year, kind of like
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: A and M quietly too. Anyway, I think George Tech
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: could get upset this week. Like I know that that
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: Haines King everyone loves him, another great great coach and
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: Brent Key. George Tech has a great chance of making
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: the playoffs. They really do. But man, dude, it seems
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: like every week your quarterbacks got to run his ass
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: off and bust his ass like they don't have. Their
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: team is not full of like blue chip players. That's
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: a pretty well done coaching job. But could they lose
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: Ency State for sure? Like it's Georgia Tech, like they're
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: about as they've been about as relevant as Vandy's been,
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: honestly not being not quite that low. But they're not
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: a high level team. So could this be the week
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: where Georgia Tech has a slip up one hundred percent?
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: And again that's why we love college football.
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: I hope not because I got him plus one eight
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: one sixty eight that they'll make the playoffs.
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: Oh okay, well, and you're in your for your case.
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: I hope they don't.
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: But no, that's a good point. They had been struggling
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: there for a while. But it does seem like they
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: they turned the corner. By the way, Asu, I think
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: they're gonna be without their receiver again, their top receiver. Yeah,
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: that's big. Yeah, and they're they're seven point dogs to
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: Iowa State at Iowa State.
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: I'll tell you one bet I won't bet is bet Maryland. Dude,
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: Indiana doesn't give a shit about the point spread. Signetti
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: will drop fifty to six cent anyone any if you
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: bet the Maryland hurdles, I give you credit for having
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: the guts to do it, because Indiana.
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: Are you just a super homer?
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: Yeah? Now could Maryland's okay, they're not a joke, but yeah,
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: the good luck on your own, because that is what
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: I say, a crazy pick. As we're kind of wrapping
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: up here before he gets to the crafty craft picked
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: the week, which is above five hundred. Now, what does
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: your guts say for your gophers versus sparty gophers? Minus
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: three and a half at home?
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: Yeah, and that number came down some too, it was
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: five and a half. You know, had they lost heart
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: another heartbreaker in Iowa, I think maybe they'd be hungover
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: and been like god, you know, nine and three was
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: on the table and they would have been they would
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: have been a little stuck. But they got their ass
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: what they had to pick six in a in a
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: in a punt return within the first half. And you
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: never want to do that with your ass, especially this
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: year they got. They're back to having an offense. They
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: don't punt eighty sometimes a year anymore. I think they've
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: only punt twenty nine times this year or something. I
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: read a stat on the Viking Show. I just can't
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: remember it, but they went over three years. Remember they
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: were just punt punt, punt, Yeah, yeah, and now it's unorthodox.
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: The dude from South Dakota State, he doesn't throw a
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: bunch of you know, touchdowns, but they get it done.
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: He's got like twelve rushing touchdowns. Anyway, I think they'll
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: bounce back because Michigan State doesn't have a good defense
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: and when we're able to move the ball and it
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: just sets up. Plus they don't have a great offensive lion,
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: so it kind of sets up. But I I do think,
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: you know, they came off that big high of Nebraska.
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: Now it's like a really low low, So I wonder
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: where they're at psyche wise. But I am gonna pick
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: them to win in a competitive one. Here's another one,
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: Wake Forrest, who's scrappy. Plus nine and a half against
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: Florida State. It was plus eight and a half, now
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: it's nine and a half. I'm just I haven't made
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: the bet. I haven't made the bet, but I'm just wondering,
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: are we sure? Are we sure? Are we sure Clemson
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: beats Duke? I don't know. I'm not too sure. I
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: am picking North Carolina to finally get over the hump
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: and beat QS as a very minor underdog Friday Night.
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: Enjoy that, sir, good luck. I wish you good luck. Jesus. Yeah,
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: I'm just gonna you're You're a good friend. I'm just
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: gonna wish you good luck on that one. I can't
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: follow you on that path.
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: But sometimes they don't fumble through the end zone. They should.
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: They could win the game. All right, where we headed, sir?
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: You tell me where we're headed, and then you can
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: set it all up, sir.
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: Well, the boys are five and four. Thank you Missouri
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: State for a nice ot win and the cover to ching.
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: We're actually heading at your friends and gave on this.
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: But this is for for the teams in their conference.
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: This is a crafty, crappy game. I'm the I'm the
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: producer the game. Jesus Christ, Mississippi State versus Arkansas.
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: Okay, so SEC, SEC, yes, SEC. See how he went
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: with the intro. He kept going with the intro, and
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: he still went with.
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: The I had a preface reason for my picking this, okay,
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: because you talked about.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: The other games. Son of a gun? All right, Missus
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: State of Arkansas.
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: Yes, all right, the Mississippi State boys. Last year, they
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: had a really tough year in SEC. This year they've
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: looked better but are still struggling. Arkansas also let a
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: good coach, and we haven't talked about. Sam Paven was
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: a good coach to but yeah, he was probably should
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: have been fired, you know, any good coach.
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: So both these teams are ones trying to get off
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: the mat. Arkansas, I think Arkansas has literally lost every
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: game by three or six points, so they're after a
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: rough year. It is in Fayetteville. I could drive there
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: if I want to. I probably won't, but Arkansas is
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: minus four and a half. The over under sixty seven
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: point five and Mississippi State is a Oh yeah, they're
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: They're the road road road dog. So three o'clock kickoff,
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: Take it away, brother. This game is on the SEC network,
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: where it means more.
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: Now, you're right, he is gonna get his ship because
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: if Mississippi State wins, they're gonna be above five hundred,
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: just like us. But it is a shitty game. There's
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: no there's no way around for the SEC. Yeah, it
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: doesn't matter who it is. This is a ship game.
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: But from a hardcore perspective, I'm into this game. Actually.
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: But as far as like the numbers they do line up. Now,
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: these are the highest scoring teams, will have you know
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: in the segment of all time.
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: Yeah, only it's like these teams average seventeen points a game.
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's pretty good. So thirty five and thirty
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: two basically thirty five thirty three. So they both can
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: put up points, both of them can pass really well.
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: Arkansas favored there and Arkansas runs better. However, Okay, they're
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: also giving up thirty three points a game in a
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: buck ninety four on the ground. That's not good, whereas
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: Mississippi State they only give up twenty three point four
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: blake shaping coming off, you know, a hell of a
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: performance in a loss. But still, according to the Fox Facts,
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: the Razorbacks thirty nine big plays in the own territory
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: of the most. Soy they go big. They're gonna go big.
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: They're eighth in average yard per play. Now the Bulldogs
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: seven offensive penalties and goal to go situations are the
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: most in the NC double. Oh wow, we got ourselves
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: a barnburger. And like you said, these have been tight,
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: tight games in both sides. Really, you know. Now they
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: do have an opponent that they both faced, A and M.
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: And Mississippi State got beat thirty one and nine. And
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: we know Arkansas hang hung with them forty four to
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: forty two. They lost them as Memphis thirty two to
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: thirty one. Now Notre Dame beat them up, but that's
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: about it. You know, Auburn's got a really good defense.
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: This is okay. What's the over runner? Sixty said M.
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: Sixty seven and a half's pretty high for an over
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: hundred college football.
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: But yeah, I don't it doesn't scream over because it's
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: so high. I don't know, but I I like tailing
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: Green and I like Arkansas. They're two and six. Yeah,
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: they're coming off a game where they got beat cleanly,
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: but the heartbreak in back to back weeks Florida and Texas.
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: For Mississippi State, they're at home. I'm going with the
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: Razorbacks to get the job done at home, and so
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: therefore Mississippi State will be under five hundred. So it
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: fits in that category, perfect.
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: Sir, go Hogs. All right, for the alumni battle, this
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: is a pretty good one. A lot of sport games involved.
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: How did you do last week in your alumni battle?
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: Do you remember I'm gonna start springing questions on your ass?
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: All right?
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: Well, you know this was a tough one because of
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: the weekend. Your brain is not working.
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: Yeah, there was. There was a lot of whiskey consumers.
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: How it feels, except we're not talking about nineteen seventy eight.
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: Yeah, there there, there was. There were ubers done, There
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: were ubers done. Yeah, oh no, no, no, I I took.
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: I took in New Mexico stakes, I remember, right, like
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: Bryner Lacker. So all right, for for Arkansas, obviously, Jerry Jones,
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: I'm a Cowboys fan where you know it's good and bad.
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: Cliff Lee is a great baseball pitcher, or is a
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: former baseball pitcher still living. Darren McFadden. They've had a
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: handful of great running backs. Uh so, a lot of
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: apparently politicians I don't recognize Thurman, Yeah, Williamson, Joe Johnson.
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: They got, they got basketball player, they got forty minutes
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: of hell over here.
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: Yes, Clinton Clinton, Clinton Richardson was the coach, right yeah, yeah, okay,
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: so and obviously Richard Richardson, Nolan Richardson yet. Okay, So
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: that's that's respectable list for Arkansas. When you go to
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: Mississippi State, I always call it Dak you with my
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: friends because Dak Prescott went there. The very talented author
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: John Grisham, my dad's I think read all of his books,
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: went there. So that's a good first top two machine
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: gun Kelly, who's a musician. Buck Showalter, a very top
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: tier baseball coach. Uh, Chris Jones is.
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: The d N for the chief machine gun Kelly went
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: to college there. What this?
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: Yeah, oh machine gun Kelly. Sorry not okay, I saw it.
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: The mobster machine gun Kelly.
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's what I thought. I was like,
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: what hell? No, okay, the real machine gun Kelly, not
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: a knockoff.
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: Yeah, man, but this is such a strong Fletcher Cox
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: was like, I mean they're the Rafael Palmero. Man, Dude,
- 1:23:06Speaker 2: I gotta go with Dak you. I'm taking Mississippi State,
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: so I will take the cowbells on the road for
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: the line battle. But I hope your hoggsy had done.
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: So we moved to six in front of the year.
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: On that note, again, on paper, this might be a
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: quiet week which is due for maybe like a bloodbath
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: week where like shit just goes crazy.
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: So the rankings come next Tuesday. Rankings.
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: Let's go so hey, the boys are out, have a
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: good one. It's gonna be a fun recap next week
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: because we have a lot of gig hans and someone
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: some upset's gonna happen. Hopefully, three or four have a
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: good one piece
