- 0:13Speaker 1: Hello, everybody, it is La La Kent with Randall. We
- 0:18Speaker 1: took a week off, yes.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Full hiatus, a lot of hiatus, a lot of hiatus
- 0:25Speaker 2: e tight, I don't even know if.
- 0:27Speaker 1: That's a word, but a lot of quarantine. We took
- 0:29Speaker 1: a quarantine week.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Well, we're taking a lot of quarantine weeks right now.
- 0:33Speaker 1: We're doing this in quarantine.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Correct. We're sitting in our dining room looking at each
- 0:37Speaker 2: other versus having like a crew of three or four
- 0:40Speaker 2: or five people round. But that's it.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Yeah, And you know, there's a lot of things that
- 0:46Speaker 3: I'm going to be really brutally honest right now. I
- 0:49Speaker 3: feel like doing this podcast, like for me, this is
- 0:54Speaker 3: a safe format, like where I feel like I can
- 0:57Speaker 3: be completely honest, completely myself. Yeah, And like my Instagram
- 1:02Speaker 3: is more where I treat it like an episode of
- 1:05Speaker 3: Curb Your Enthusiasm. Like I say a lot of stupid shit.
- 1:09Speaker 3: I know when other people are saying stupid shit because
- 1:12Speaker 3: I too say a lot.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Of stupid shit.
- 1:16Speaker 2: I'm not going to involved in this. No.
- 1:18Speaker 3: So there was this post that I did and I
- 1:24Speaker 3: was talking about coronavirus and like I wouldn't get it
- 1:28Speaker 3: and all of these things and you have to know.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Like for me, Randall has his hands over his face.
- 1:34Speaker 2: I really do think we're going to go on this
- 1:36Speaker 2: road well because.
- 1:37Speaker 3: I feel like it's important for me to tell people,
- 1:39Speaker 3: like the difference between my podcast and the difference between
- 1:42Speaker 3: Instagram for me is Instagram is like my playground where
- 1:46Speaker 3: I just like spew bullshit and I hope that people
- 1:48Speaker 3: think it's funny. And if they don't think it's funny,
- 1:50Speaker 3: I get it. I'm not everyone's cup of tea.
- 1:52Speaker 1: It is what it is.
- 1:53Speaker 2: But I also think people just in your defense because
- 1:56Speaker 2: I know who you are, I think that people don't
- 1:58Speaker 2: understand that you are a very empathetic person to people,
- 2:04Speaker 2: to causes to especially in the world that we're living
- 2:08Speaker 2: in right now, and we talk about it a lot
- 2:10Speaker 2: over the last seven days of the uncertainty that we're
- 2:12Speaker 2: living in. You know, I know how scared you are
- 2:15Speaker 2: the uncertainty that we both have and the rest of
- 2:17Speaker 2: the world has. So I think that you basically what
- 2:21Speaker 2: you're trying to say is this format you can share
- 2:25Speaker 2: your your true self, and sometimes Instagram you're goofing off
- 2:29Speaker 2: and then you get punished for it because it doesn't
- 2:32Speaker 2: come off the way that the way you really feel,
- 2:35Speaker 2: because the real Lala has been quarantining. The real Lala
- 2:39Speaker 2: has has been very emotional and very up and down
- 2:42Speaker 2: over the last week. And I think that what you
- 2:45Speaker 2: want your fans, because I only have three or four
- 2:47Speaker 2: year ones in the house, and then and then my kids,
- 2:51Speaker 2: and then I think my mom. I think she's a
- 2:53Speaker 2: fan still, So yeah, anyway, But the point is is
- 2:55Speaker 2: that I think what you're trying to say is that
- 2:57Speaker 2: people should know how emotional you've been over the last
- 2:59Speaker 2: week and how affected you have been. Let alone the
- 3:02Speaker 2: rest of the world. We've all been affected.
- 3:04Speaker 3: But well, right I don't even feel like it's like
- 3:06Speaker 3: me being affected because well, okay, we're going to go
- 3:11Speaker 3: into how I've been affected. But on the flip side,
- 3:14Speaker 3: people have been way more affected, yes than I have.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Well, people are losing that life.
- 3:18Speaker 3: For me, I have a different mindset about the entire thing,
- 3:23Speaker 3: which I won't get into because it's just too up
- 3:27Speaker 3: and down and crazy.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Right now, we don't know what anything, That's.
- 3:30Speaker 3: What I mean, So I can't even tell you how
- 3:33Speaker 3: I'm feeling because I no, I don't know what's going
- 3:37Speaker 3: to happen tomorrow. What I do know is people are
- 3:39Speaker 3: getting extremely sick and losing their lives. And the only
- 3:41Speaker 3: thing I can sit here and do this is just
- 3:44Speaker 3: like right, just like make sure that my I don't
- 3:48Speaker 3: even know what to say because this is so new
- 3:50Speaker 3: for me.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Okay, But first of all, you know, we weren't even
- 3:55Speaker 2: going to go on the air today, and we decided
- 3:57Speaker 2: that this was a format that would at least make
- 4:00Speaker 2: us feel or have some sense of normalcy. So I
- 4:04Speaker 2: feel like sitting here with you and talking it out
- 4:06Speaker 2: is okay. And I think I listened to somebody speak
- 4:09Speaker 2: the other day and the first thing he said he
- 4:11Speaker 2: was one of the top economists and one of the
- 4:13Speaker 2: top doctors. I was listening to this and he started
- 4:15Speaker 2: out by saying, we don't know. Before I give you
- 4:19Speaker 2: my opinion, with all the experience and things that I have,
- 4:23Speaker 2: I want to tell you that we have never seen
- 4:25Speaker 2: anything like this, and I don't have the answer. The
- 4:28Speaker 2: President doesn't have the answer. Nobody has an answer. So
- 4:31Speaker 2: I think for you to sit here, it's okay lot
- 4:33Speaker 2: to look at me and say, I don't even know
- 4:35Speaker 2: how I feel, because, to be honest, I'm forty eight
- 4:38Speaker 2: years old turning forty nine on Wednesday, and I have
- 4:42Speaker 2: seen a lot to.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Day that the podcast airs. Is your birthday?
- 4:48Speaker 2: Okay, so my birthday today, Happy birthday to me. Okay,
- 4:51Speaker 2: the podcast is airing and it is my birthday. But no,
- 4:53Speaker 2: what I'm just trying to say is like, I think
- 4:55Speaker 2: it's okay to not know. And we're all confused, and
- 4:59Speaker 2: I think we're scared, but I think we're trying to
- 5:02Speaker 2: as a human race. We come together and we fall
- 5:09Speaker 2: in a line, and we're all here quarantining and living
- 5:12Speaker 2: in our homes and doing what we can do. And
- 5:16Speaker 2: I'm an optimist, so in my mind, you know, I'm
- 5:19Speaker 2: already in July, you know, with everybody back on the beach,
- 5:23Speaker 2: and we beat this as a society. That the truth is,
- 5:27Speaker 2: you know, nobody knows. And the sad part of this
- 5:30Speaker 2: is that thousands and thousands of people are dying, and
- 5:34Speaker 2: not just eighty five year old people with underlying conditions.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Young people are dying. People who were healthy have also died. Yes,
- 5:42Speaker 2: it is affecting based on the reports we're reading, but
- 5:46Speaker 2: it is a scary thing that a thirty one year
- 5:49Speaker 2: old that I know is in the hospital with double
- 5:53Speaker 2: pneumonia and it's going to recover now, But I mean,
- 5:58Speaker 2: what is his feeling going into the hospital and you
- 6:02Speaker 2: don't know if you're going to make it through and
- 6:03Speaker 2: you're a healthy guy. So I just think, lot, it's
- 6:06Speaker 2: okay to feel the way you're feeling. And I think
- 6:08Speaker 2: I think we're all confused, we're all scared, and we're
- 6:12Speaker 2: all fucking overwhelmed. I'm beyond overwhelmed. I mean, I got
- 6:16Speaker 2: I mean take us being safe because we're in this
- 6:22Speaker 2: house and we're together, but you know, all the people
- 6:25Speaker 2: that have lost their lives, and I've said prayers for
- 6:27Speaker 2: all them and every night and go to bed and
- 6:29Speaker 2: I pray that this goes away, you know, yesterday, but
- 6:32Speaker 2: we've also had came home. I came home from a
- 6:34Speaker 2: movie that got put on hiatus for safety reasons, right
- 6:38Speaker 2: along with everybody in the world. Their jobs, their careers,
- 6:41Speaker 2: we've all been put on hold. And you and I
- 6:43Speaker 2: were planning on getting married April eighteenth.
- 6:46Speaker 3: So yes, that is the way that this has affected
- 6:50Speaker 3: me personally. And like I go back to when I
- 6:55Speaker 3: did that Instagram post and then we.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Don't have to bring that up anymore.
- 7:00Speaker 1: We do because it's like cue the curb.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Your Enthusiasm theme song that my well, our wedding does
- 7:08Speaker 3: get pushed now put that aside. I'm going through my
- 7:13Speaker 3: planner because I'm like a seventy year old woman.
- 7:17Speaker 1: I don't use Google calendars whatever.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Yeah, you write it, and I put my wedding day
- 7:24Speaker 3: on April eighteenth in pen because I didn't think I
- 7:29Speaker 3: would need to erase it at any point. And so
- 7:32Speaker 3: when I was going through and looking at it and
- 7:35Speaker 3: like erasing the parts where it just said like wedding
- 7:40Speaker 3: week or honeymoon.
- 7:42Speaker 2: It's okay, bab okay, okay to be sad. I don't
- 7:47Speaker 2: think people realize how devastating, you know, it is for
- 7:52Speaker 2: somebody to have a wedding. I don't think people realize
- 7:58Speaker 2: how devastating it is to a bride. As a groom,
- 8:01Speaker 2: you're a guy and you just want to take care
- 8:03Speaker 2: of your girl, and you're like, don't worry, babe, We're
- 8:05Speaker 2: going to have a great wedding, and it's going to
- 8:06Speaker 2: be a great wedding no matter what. But for a bride,
- 8:09Speaker 2: you know, I've watched you cry and you've seen me upset,
- 8:13Speaker 2: and you know we had a full out cry fest
- 8:17Speaker 2: a week ago when we first made the decision. But
- 8:19Speaker 2: I've watched you, you know, the bridal shower, the bachelotte party.
- 8:24Speaker 3: Weddings to leave for my bachelorette today today, I know
- 8:27Speaker 3: so oh no, and.
- 8:29Speaker 2: I don't think anybody's prepared for this. And it's like,
- 8:32Speaker 2: you know, we always keep telling ourselves because you and
- 8:34Speaker 2: I've had this conversation one hundred times, like we're safe,
- 8:37Speaker 2: our family's safe, we're doing the right thing. But that
- 8:40Speaker 2: doesn't take away from the fact that your heart has
- 8:43Speaker 2: broken and my heart is broken from having two hundred
- 8:46Speaker 2: and fifty people when we thought we were three weeks away,
- 8:49Speaker 2: you know, yeah made it.
- 8:50Speaker 3: And I just keep thinking about like, Okay, April eighteenth
- 8:56Speaker 3: was only special because that's the day that I was.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Going to marry you. Yeah, so no matter what day
- 9:03Speaker 1: we choose, like, it's still going to be that way.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Okay, I love you and I know it's sad, but
- 9:14Speaker 2: the main thing I told you is that we love
- 9:17Speaker 2: each other and that we're here and that we're safe.
- 9:20Speaker 2: And at the end of the day, a lot of
- 9:22Speaker 2: people would pick this spot.
- 9:25Speaker 1: That's what I mean. It sounds silly to.
- 9:29Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no, no, no time, No, You're allowed.
- 9:32Speaker 2: First of all, I don't I don't take that away
- 9:34Speaker 2: from you. I'm going to tell you right here you
- 9:36Speaker 2: are allowed to be sad and devastated over this day. Yes,
- 9:40Speaker 2: do we look at the bigger picture. People are losing
- 9:43Speaker 2: their lives and we are, and people are losing their jobs.
- 9:45Speaker 2: People can't people can't feed their families. So that is
- 9:48Speaker 2: the number one thing. And but at the same time,
- 9:51Speaker 2: it doesn't take away from your heartbreak that you've been
- 9:54Speaker 2: planning this wedding for two years and you know we're
- 9:57Speaker 2: not going to have it on that day. The good
- 9:59Speaker 2: news is I still want to marry you. But I
- 10:08Speaker 2: just want you to know that. And I keep telling
- 10:09Speaker 2: you this, that you're entitled to feel all the sad
- 10:12Speaker 2: and all of the angst and all the things you feel.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Whenever you've gotten sad over the last week. I've been
- 10:18Speaker 2: there for you, and I've never told you it's not
- 10:20Speaker 2: okay to feel that way, because you know what people
- 10:23Speaker 2: like you. I mean. I was thinking today about a
- 10:28Speaker 2: friend of mine's kid was getting ready for his high
- 10:31Speaker 2: school prom, coming up for a senior prom, getting ready
- 10:34Speaker 2: to graduate high school. I have the big graduation party.
- 10:36Speaker 2: All those things are gone are gone for all of
- 10:40Speaker 2: these people. So like, the only thing that I take
- 10:43Speaker 2: comfort in even though it's our devastation, Just like that
- 10:47Speaker 2: kid is devastated that he doesn't get to go to
- 10:49Speaker 2: a high school prom. We all have had loss together,
- 10:53Speaker 2: and it's the first time I've ever seen the planet
- 10:57Speaker 2: have lost together. And so when I call somebody and
- 11:01Speaker 2: I say, I'm sad about my wedding or what are
- 11:02Speaker 2: you doing about your wedding, and I say, you know,
- 11:04Speaker 2: we're devastated, but at the same time, we're safe. And
- 11:06Speaker 2: then they say, my kid's not going to play his
- 11:09Speaker 2: last game, my recruiting school that was going to come
- 11:13Speaker 2: will not come now now they're just going to go
- 11:15Speaker 2: off tape. All of these people in the world have
- 11:17Speaker 2: been affected. But then you hear the most devastating stories
- 11:21Speaker 2: people that live paycheck to paycheck, which is a lot
- 11:24Speaker 2: of America, can't pay their bills. So then I shift
- 11:28Speaker 2: into humanitarian like what can we do to give to
- 11:32Speaker 2: help those people? So I just think the whole world
- 11:35Speaker 2: is fucked right now, and we're all confused and we're
- 11:38Speaker 2: all scared, and we're all in it together. I mean,
- 11:41Speaker 2: that's the it's the first time I've ever seen the
- 11:44Speaker 2: world come together like this. I mean, it's not like
- 11:46Speaker 2: an earthquake in one country where you send aid and
- 11:49Speaker 2: it's like you know, you know, or a hurricane or
- 11:52Speaker 2: all of these things are catastrophic, but every country in
- 11:56Speaker 2: the world is affected by this virus. So it's a
- 11:59Speaker 2: unique thing, and God willing, will never happen again, and hopefully,
- 12:05Speaker 2: God willing, we get through this and people get their
- 12:07Speaker 2: lives back, because you know, this is destroying people's industries
- 12:12Speaker 2: and business and making a living and providing for families.
- 12:14Speaker 2: So I just I think, you know, my heart breaks
- 12:17Speaker 2: for everybody, and my heart breaks for you because you're
- 12:19Speaker 2: my fiance. Yes.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Can we move on to a really high fee topic?
- 12:26Speaker 1: Part two?
- 12:27Speaker 2: Wait, you want to switch gears.
- 12:28Speaker 3: We're going to switch gears. Let's take a short break.
- 12:31Speaker 3: We'll be back.
- 12:40Speaker 1: We are, Zach. It's give them la luck with Randall
- 12:46Speaker 1: the first like.
- 12:47Speaker 4: A little bit.
- 12:47Speaker 1: We had a little bit of cries.
- 12:50Speaker 3: I have I have my best my best friend slash
- 12:54Speaker 3: Lady of Honor, working the whatever.
- 12:57Speaker 1: This contraption is.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Run of the control room here here in the dining room,
- 13:03Speaker 2: here in the dining room. All right, let's let's shift gears,
- 13:08Speaker 2: like you said, I agree.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Look, that is such an Andy Cohen thing to say.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Like during reunions he's always like, I want to shift
- 13:14Speaker 3: gears for a moment.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Well that's a compliment because any Cohne's about us, Okay, any.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Cone is about us.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Let's shift gears.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Okay.
- 13:21Speaker 3: So we're shifting gears because in this thing that's happening,
- 13:25Speaker 3: this quarantine that we're all in. Like, as much as
- 13:28Speaker 3: we want to acknowledge everything that's happening, I want you
- 13:32Speaker 3: guys to be able to laugh and like maybe bring
- 13:35Speaker 3: a little bit of light into.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Your correct homes. Yes, give me some like mindless drama.
- 13:41Speaker 2: I mean, oh, we're getting your show, You're getting new.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Pump Rules goes crazy again.
- 13:52Speaker 3: No, So I made rand to watch this episode. It
- 13:56Speaker 3: was the episode that Jackson Brittany got married. It was
- 13:59Speaker 3: fucking beautiful way by.
- 14:01Speaker 2: The way, by the way, you did make me watch
- 14:03Speaker 2: this episode. But because it was Jack's wedding, I did
- 14:06Speaker 2: want to see it because he is one of you
- 14:07Speaker 2: wanted to see it any any And it was a beautiful,
- 14:11Speaker 2: beautiful day and two people who love each other very much.
- 14:14Speaker 2: It was a beautiful wedding.
- 14:15Speaker 1: It really was.
- 14:16Speaker 3: And the thing that I loved about the wedding is
- 14:19Speaker 3: I love when a wedding rings true to who a
- 14:21Speaker 3: couple correct is behind like closed doors and you get
- 14:24Speaker 3: to see, like in their vows their relationship comes through,
- 14:28Speaker 3: like when Britney said, you're my lobster.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Yes, well said well said, Well said no, And I
- 14:34Speaker 2: agree with you. It really rings true to them. And
- 14:37Speaker 2: I felt like every part of that wedding was beautiful.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Everything was either Jack's or Britney or both of them,
- 14:43Speaker 2: and it was just so much fun. I had the
- 14:44Speaker 2: best time. It was a great, a great wedding. Now
- 14:48Speaker 2: back to the episode. So, in watching this particular episode,
- 14:52Speaker 2: which I don't think i'll watch anymore that day, I
- 14:55Speaker 2: want to set the stage until you make.
- 14:57Speaker 1: An appearance again.
- 14:58Speaker 3: The second he finds out like, Babe, babe, my own this,
- 15:01Speaker 3: my own this coming upisode.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Really, that's where you want to go with this.
- 15:04Speaker 1: It's a safe format, Randall. People listen and.
- 15:06Speaker 2: That's a bunch of business. That's a bunch of bush.
- 15:09Speaker 2: That's not how I am. It's Lala's version. That's Lala's version,
- 15:12Speaker 2: the only version. I am a busy person and I
- 15:16Speaker 2: do not try to fanom girl into the episode. Thank
- 15:20Speaker 2: you Lala. All right, Okay, I'm an Oscar nom I'm
- 15:23Speaker 2: an Oscar. I am an Oscar nominated producer. No comment.
- 15:29Speaker 1: I will not take you at the away from you.
- 15:32Speaker 2: You've got the mic in your hand. You look like
- 15:34Speaker 2: you're about to come over the table.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Then I feel like I'm Beyonce with this mic like this. Okay, okay,
- 15:39Speaker 1: so can I can?
- 15:40Speaker 2: I can? I?
- 15:40Speaker 1: Because I want to get to the shade part. I
- 15:43Speaker 1: want to throw a man shape.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Okay. I don't want to be part of that part.
- 15:45Speaker 2: I just want to talk about it. I just want
- 15:47Speaker 2: to keep going. You don't even let me get shipped out. Okay, listen,
- 15:53Speaker 2: there's only you and me here. Can you just try
- 15:55Speaker 2: to listen? And I don't know what you're looking at
- 15:57Speaker 2: over there on Madison, but I'm see what I'm talking about,
- 16:01Speaker 2: Like Madison, tell.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Us what you wanted to say, Spit it out.
- 16:05Speaker 2: There's three people here, and you pick the other person.
- 16:08Speaker 2: I guess doesn't.
- 16:09Speaker 1: I'll give you a my next time, Maudi goa.
- 16:12Speaker 2: You just shoot me like a like a like a dog. Okay,
- 16:16Speaker 2: I'm gonna speak at my own pace, all right, it's
- 16:19Speaker 2: my podcast too. By the way, it says with Randall,
- 16:21Speaker 2: just so we're clear, okay, number now I approved it.
- 16:24Speaker 2: So that day, let me set the stage for our
- 16:26Speaker 2: audience or your audience and buy four fans. That day.
- 16:31Speaker 2: There were only about ten rooms in the hotel or whatever,
- 16:33Speaker 2: fifteen rooms. You woke me up castle, Okay, you woke
- 16:37Speaker 2: me up. You had volunteer in our suite to the
- 16:41Speaker 2: bridle get ready room or something. So I woke up
- 16:44Speaker 2: at like nine am, probably with a hangover, and you
- 16:48Speaker 2: were like, everybody's coming in to put their dresses on.
- 16:50Speaker 2: You gotta get up. Wait nine am. The wedding's at
- 16:52Speaker 2: five thirty. What am I supposed to do from nine
- 16:55Speaker 2: to five thirty? I mean steam cleaned the clothes. So pissed,
- 17:00Speaker 2: so I went downstairs. I ran into Bow. I just
- 17:04Speaker 2: want to set the stage of how the bow thing happened,
- 17:06Speaker 2: because it made it look like we just like to
- 17:07Speaker 2: watch xpin X games in bed together something. So Bo
- 17:11Speaker 2: and I were like, it was like, what are you doing.
- 17:13Speaker 2: I was like, I'm not doing anything. He's like me either,
- 17:15Speaker 2: I'm screwed because you know all the rooms are taken.
- 17:18Speaker 2: I was like, he said, well, my room is empty.
- 17:21Speaker 2: I was like, bo, I just want to chill out today.
- 17:24Speaker 2: I don't this madness with all the cameras and crazy
- 17:26Speaker 2: just kind of So we went to his room and
- 17:29Speaker 2: hid and I closed the door and I got five
- 17:32Speaker 2: hours to just veg out, watch TV, roll it, do emails,
- 17:35Speaker 2: just catch up, right, And I want to make this
- 17:38Speaker 2: clear to Tom Schwartz because Tom Schwartz can say whatever
- 17:41Speaker 2: he wants to say. But Schwartz, you know he fucked
- 17:45Speaker 2: me bad. And Schwartz, you know that I don't call
- 17:48Speaker 2: people out because you guys are all my friends, but
- 17:50Speaker 2: you fucked me. You could talk all the bullshit with
- 17:52Speaker 2: your little you know, passive aggressive eye.
- 17:55Speaker 1: It's not passive aggressive, it's more passive kind.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Such a good thing. You're right, Schwartz is passive kind
- 18:02Speaker 2: because he's not vas aggressive. So I said to Schwartz,
- 18:05Speaker 2: I said, Schwartz, please text me when they're ready, because
- 18:09Speaker 2: I don't want to get ready with like sixteen dudes.
- 18:11Speaker 2: So just I'll wait in this room with he said, Randy,
- 18:15Speaker 2: I got you. So I sat there, I was watching
- 18:17Speaker 2: the TV, and Bom, I get a text from you,
- 18:23Speaker 2: a wacko text that says they're taking pictures. Why aren't
- 18:26Speaker 2: you down there? And I'm like, what are you talking about?
- 18:28Speaker 2: Bow would have already called me.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Schwartz would have called you.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Sorry, Schwartz would have already my bad. Schwartz would have
- 18:33Speaker 2: already called me. And next thing, I know, the doors
- 18:36Speaker 2: being basically kicked in by you, and you're like, get debt,
- 18:40Speaker 2: and I said, no, no, no, no, no, that's not happening.
- 18:42Speaker 2: We shorts. I had a thing that you said. They're
- 18:44Speaker 2: out there taking the pictures already. Now I'm like freaked out.
- 18:47Speaker 2: I feel horrible because I would never be late for
- 18:49Speaker 2: something like that. That's very that's an important thing. And
- 18:52Speaker 2: so I have to get ready in literally twelve seconds.
- 18:55Speaker 2: No shower, no uh, hair gel because I'm a hair
- 18:58Speaker 2: gel specialist, no hair joel.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Oh my god. Yeah, and then Chrispy hair.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Oh no. And then I run and then I run
- 19:05Speaker 2: downstairs and and they're taking pictures, and so I pull
- 19:09Speaker 2: up the Schwartz and I say, dude, like, come on, man,
- 19:12Speaker 2: like you said you got me. If you didn't get me,
- 19:15Speaker 2: it's fine whatever, and he goes, no, man, you know,
- 19:18Speaker 2: I just forgot. And then they were torturing me over it,
- 19:21Speaker 2: like for the next thirty minutes. They can bring me
- 19:23Speaker 2: it up anyway. I just want to say to jacks A,
- 19:26Speaker 2: your wedding was very important to me. You know that.
- 19:28Speaker 2: B I love you, and see Schwartz, I'm coming for you,
- 19:32Speaker 2: and I just haven't figured out how I'm going to
- 19:33Speaker 2: do it. But payback.
- 19:35Speaker 3: I feel like Jack's was so in his own head
- 19:38Speaker 3: again that he was like, it's fine, and here's the
- 19:41Speaker 3: thing with Rand and you get a pass for this,
- 19:45Speaker 3: mostly because you're older than us.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Really, you just did the age thing again.
- 19:50Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's because for so many years, you've had
- 19:55Speaker 3: an assistant that travels with you and.
- 19:57Speaker 1: He keeps you on yourself.
- 19:58Speaker 3: I still do, right, I know that, but during this situation,
- 20:02Speaker 3: there were only so many rooms, so the assistant could
- 20:04Speaker 3: not stay.
- 20:05Speaker 2: I stayed in downtown down right.
- 20:07Speaker 3: For so many years, you've had an assistant that keeps
- 20:09Speaker 3: you on track because your mind is full of so
- 20:12Speaker 3: many other things, So one never ever rely on Schwartz
- 20:18Speaker 3: to give you any sort of headsonest that something's happening,
- 20:22Speaker 3: because I love you Schwartz, But bro, your head is
- 20:25Speaker 3: so in the clouds.
- 20:26Speaker 1: But that's why we love you. That's why we love you.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Shorchwarts. I want to say one thing after seeing what
- 20:31Speaker 2: Sandoval did. No, look, wait, rewind You're right. I have
- 20:35Speaker 2: an assistant because when I'm on movies or we're traveling
- 20:38Speaker 2: or whatever, you know, it helps keep schedules and keeps
- 20:41Speaker 2: us moving. But at the end of the day, I'm
- 20:43Speaker 2: an adult and I had no problem with being ready
- 20:45Speaker 2: for pictures or whatever time. Somebody said. The only problem
- 20:47Speaker 2: is is that I thought bo u bo damn it.
- 20:50Speaker 2: I thought Schwartz. I thought Schwartz would be like right
- 20:53Speaker 2: there on the ground and say, hey, Ran, I'm gonna
- 20:55Speaker 2: come grab you. I thought it would get me and
- 20:57Speaker 2: we go together. That was a mistake. But I'm going
- 21:00Speaker 2: to tell you if this, if there's another vander Pump wedding,
- 21:03Speaker 2: which there is, right Bow and Stassy right that after
- 21:07Speaker 2: seeing the remarkable, impeccable job that Tom Sandoval did as
- 21:13Speaker 2: a best man, I have not seen anything like this.
- 21:16Speaker 2: He should write a book. He should write a book,
- 21:18Speaker 2: and it should be tips to be a best man.
- 21:21Speaker 2: I have never seen anybody more prepared. When I showed
- 21:24Speaker 2: up for the pictures, all the way up to the
- 21:26Speaker 2: point where we went down the aisle, he had a
- 21:28Speaker 2: cooler that had wine openers. He had every kind of
- 21:34Speaker 2: liquor you could want.
- 21:35Speaker 1: I mean, Peno, bark baby, I.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Mean Santoval is a rock star of and honestly, you
- 21:42Speaker 2: don't I know.
- 21:42Speaker 1: I actually for a minute was going to demote my
- 21:45Speaker 1: Lady of honor Madison.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Oh you're going to drop her?
- 21:48Speaker 1: Bring on Tom Sannibal.
- 21:49Speaker 2: No, but Sante, did you see the glass he had?
- 21:51Speaker 2: He had it as cooler glasses for every shot glasses,
- 21:55Speaker 2: wine glasses. This guy rock star.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Take that out of the equation.
- 21:59Speaker 3: When we were taking our pictures after sweating in the
- 22:01Speaker 3: sun for like an hour and fan and a full mirror,
- 22:06Speaker 3: not a compact, a full it was cool.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Crazy. Do you know what I called him at the
- 22:10Speaker 2: wedding and this true story, he's the meguiver.
- 22:14Speaker 1: That's amazing. I love that you labeled him that. Okay,
- 22:17Speaker 1: so then there's the other side of vander Pump And
- 22:22Speaker 1: here we go, you guys. I know you are all
- 22:24Speaker 1: in quarantine and you need to hear some shade and
- 22:28Speaker 1: I'm about to throw it.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Okay, I'm about to step out of this section.
- 22:31Speaker 3: No, no, you're gonna listen and you're gonna feed into
- 22:33Speaker 3: what I'm fucking saying that's a partnership. Really, it's very
- 22:40Speaker 3: scary and very dark at times, but you just fucking
- 22:45Speaker 3: deal with it, all right, Go Okay, I can not
- 22:51Speaker 3: deal with these New People, you guys.
- 22:56Speaker 1: I'm gonna be fucking honest.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Cord the show and then I watch it and I
- 23:03Speaker 3: have to fast forward for like a while because here's
- 23:07Speaker 3: what happens. Randall, get off your phone and engage with me.
- 23:12Speaker 3: It's getting so nervous. Okay, tell your boyfriend, hold on
- 23:16Speaker 3: a minute.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Okay, this is happen.
- 23:20Speaker 2: Are you bashing the New People again?
- 23:22Speaker 1: No, I'm not bashing the New People I'm spitting mad truth.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Okay, that's not nice.
- 23:27Speaker 1: It's not even about that. It has nothing to do
- 23:29Speaker 1: with it. I actually think that the New People are great.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Oh good.
- 23:33Speaker 3: I think that they have But here's where I'm conflicted.
- 23:37Speaker 3: This is the only way I can explain how I feel.
- 23:40Speaker 3: I feel like I'm super into a show, like I'm
- 23:43Speaker 3: watching vander Pump and then it's almost like I change
- 23:47Speaker 3: the channel and when I come back, like all of.
- 23:50Speaker 1: This stuff has happened and I've missed it.
- 23:53Speaker 3: Like the New People is like a commercial that started
- 23:56Speaker 3: and I flipped the chance like it takes.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Me out of You don't think it gives another layer
- 24:03Speaker 2: of excitement.
- 24:04Speaker 1: No, I think that, Like that's how I would explain it.
- 24:07Speaker 3: The new people coming on, It's like, fuck, I gotta
- 24:09Speaker 3: wait for a commercial to see what's gonna happen in
- 24:12Speaker 3: a storyline.
- 24:13Speaker 1: That I'm invested in. Take me out of it, take
- 24:15Speaker 1: me out of it.
- 24:16Speaker 2: I don't give a fuck.
- 24:17Speaker 3: I'm interested in what's happening with the witches of who.
- 24:19Speaker 3: I want to dive deep into everything. I want to
- 24:22Speaker 3: see what's happening with Tom Sandoval and Jacks like that.
- 24:27Speaker 3: That if you lasted one episode that went on for
- 24:29Speaker 3: fucking weeks and I asked you a question and I
- 24:31Speaker 3: wanted to know everything that happened.
- 24:33Speaker 2: You just said before you started this shade thing you
- 24:36Speaker 2: call it whatever, you said you weren't going to bash
- 24:39Speaker 2: the new people, and now you just bashed the new people.
- 24:41Speaker 2: You equated them to a commercial. That's what you just
- 24:43Speaker 2: called them.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Kate, I'm so.
- 24:45Speaker 3: Sick of people where it it's like, but that is
- 24:48Speaker 3: like you're bashing and it's like, no, this is just factual.
- 24:51Speaker 1: How I feel. This is like how I feel. It
- 24:54Speaker 1: has nothing to do with you personally.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Oh so you like them personally?
- 24:57Speaker 1: I don't know them.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Okay, so you don't know them. You're not sure, are you? Like?
- 25:00Speaker 2: Here's the thing, right, the New People commercial or not?
- 25:02Speaker 1: Because that's what people a commercial.
- 25:03Speaker 2: You just basically told the new cast that they're not
- 25:07Speaker 2: cast members, they're the commercial in between the show.
- 25:10Speaker 1: That's how I feel a lot of people.
- 25:12Speaker 2: I'm sure bring it down. You got your hands flying
- 25:16Speaker 2: in the air. Now, shit's going crazy. Okay, I'm going
- 25:18Speaker 2: to bring it back to center. I like the New People.
- 25:21Speaker 2: They've been very nice to me. I don't watch the show.
- 25:24Speaker 2: I only watch Oh my god, can.
- 25:27Speaker 1: I throw up in a bucket? Please? Randall? Get the
- 25:31Speaker 1: fuck out of it.
- 25:32Speaker 2: I do like the New People.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Oh what do you know about don?
- 25:34Speaker 2: Okay, I'll tell you right now. I don't know all
- 25:37Speaker 2: of them, but I know Max. He's very nice. He's
- 25:41Speaker 2: very kind. He I've had a bunch of phone conversation
- 25:43Speaker 2: with him. He's very nice. Talk on the phone a
- 25:46Speaker 2: couple of times, two times. I think he's very nice.
- 25:49Speaker 3: Is happening in this house when I'm not around? You're
- 25:51Speaker 3: just having bromances with care But when.
- 25:54Speaker 2: I when I go to Tom Tom with like Jackson them,
- 25:56Speaker 2: that's where I see him, and he's always a gentleman
- 25:59Speaker 2: to me and always very kind. Hold On and then
- 26:02Speaker 2: your other friend on when I celebrated the Oscar Brunch.
- 26:07Speaker 1: What's her name exactly, Randall? Her name is Dana, Dana.
- 26:11Speaker 2: I know it's Dandy. Stop. Why are you see now
- 26:13Speaker 2: you're trying to make me look bad. First of all,
- 26:17Speaker 2: I love Dana. She's a great person. She's very kind.
- 26:20Speaker 1: I agree.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Wait, and I want to say, every time I've gone
- 26:23Speaker 2: into the restaurant when she's there, she always comes up
- 26:26Speaker 2: says hello. It's totally nice. I just think they're authentic people.
- 26:31Speaker 5: I do.
- 26:31Speaker 2: I think, I think Max. I don't know everybody else.
- 26:34Speaker 1: I don't know anybody you out of the other however,
- 26:37Speaker 1: many people.
- 26:38Speaker 2: But the two that I know I think are really fun,
- 26:41Speaker 2: interesting people. And I'm gonna be honest and if I
- 26:44Speaker 2: would see and that's what I mean.
- 26:45Speaker 3: There's a lot of people that feel the exact same
- 26:48Speaker 3: way that you do. For me, all the new storylines
- 26:52Speaker 3: from New Faces is the fucking commercial.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Okay, this is the part where I think, you know,
- 27:00Speaker 2: everybody has to start somewhere in the world.
- 27:03Speaker 1: But here's the other thing that I must say this
- 27:05Speaker 1: is this is a dead.
- 27:06Speaker 2: End street payer. No, No, you had your hands in
- 27:08Speaker 2: the air two seconds ago.
- 27:10Speaker 1: I'm just worried I'm having my hands in the air
- 27:12Speaker 1: Randall because I just don't care.
- 27:13Speaker 2: Oh god, here's the worst part about this podcast. If
- 27:20Speaker 2: you start waving your hands and shit starts getting thrown off,
- 27:23Speaker 2: I can't leave. We're stuck.
- 27:25Speaker 1: We're stuck at quarantine bitches in.
- 27:28Speaker 2: This dining room where it's stuck in the diving room.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Here's how let me just explain something to you really quickly. However,
- 27:35Speaker 1: you're looking like if I if those people would have.
- 27:38Speaker 3: Come on season four when I came on, all those
- 27:42Speaker 3: bitches would be my best friends, because they.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Were they're like totally like out there.
- 27:46Speaker 3: Like I was like when I the episodes that I
- 27:49Speaker 3: have seen with them in it, I'm like, oh my god,
- 27:51Speaker 3: they're saying shit that like I used to say.
- 27:53Speaker 1: And I swore to myself like this is me. I'll
- 27:56Speaker 1: never change, and like here I am approaching thirty and
- 27:58Speaker 1: shit don't change.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Okay, right, but you grew up kind of some days
- 28:02Speaker 2: depending on what day it is.
- 28:03Speaker 1: But that's true, depending on if you wake me up
- 28:06Speaker 1: before nine am.
- 28:07Speaker 2: No, you're a one out of three, or I call
- 28:08Speaker 2: them the grown up division, one for every three days
- 28:11Speaker 2: you're grown up.
- 28:12Speaker 1: It blows my mind that you put a ring on
- 28:14Speaker 1: it with that.
- 28:15Speaker 2: Because I love you and you brainwashed me a little
- 28:17Speaker 2: bit in a lot of different ways. I love you. Okay, listen,
- 28:23Speaker 2: we're not talking. Let's not get back to our relationship
- 28:25Speaker 2: please as a podcast, we can have relationship conversation later. No,
- 28:28Speaker 2: what I want to say is this. I feel like
- 28:31Speaker 2: I feel like your little heart on on the new
- 28:34Speaker 2: cast members, and I think that everybody should be given
- 28:36Speaker 2: a chance.
- 28:37Speaker 1: I'm not hard on them at all.
- 28:38Speaker 3: I have no idea what's happening with any of them
- 28:40Speaker 3: because I have to fast forward for not seconds, minutes.
- 28:44Speaker 1: I'm going to get a phone call about this.
- 28:46Speaker 2: Just so you know, I just want to tell you
- 28:47Speaker 2: that I think Banner Pump Roules is one of the
- 28:49Speaker 2: greatest shows of all time to all the producers and
- 28:52Speaker 2: I have nothing to do with this part of.
- 28:53Speaker 3: The conversation, So do I The producers of Vanner Pump Roles.
- 28:56Speaker 3: They should be producing every reality TV show.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Oh that was a segway.
- 29:00Speaker 1: They should there's a lot of reality shows I watch
- 29:02Speaker 1: and I'm like, this is.
- 29:03Speaker 2: I'm glad that I don't get a page I'm glad
- 29:06Speaker 2: I don't get a page back from Man of prop
- 29:08Speaker 2: rules because here's what I think. Here's what I think,
- 29:12Speaker 2: because we're in quarantine, so I'm not even really sure
- 29:13Speaker 2: there's a world that exists right now, because if not, I.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Was on the four or five at seven and there
- 29:19Speaker 1: was zero two.
- 29:20Speaker 2: It's scary out there's scary. It's scary. But let me
- 29:23Speaker 2: just say this, I understand what you're saying that you
- 29:25Speaker 2: feel the show maybe isn't have the momentum the way
- 29:28Speaker 2: you start without the cast members. But I also feel
- 29:31Speaker 2: shows have to evolve, and clearly the producers know better
- 29:35Speaker 2: than most because they're one of the most successful reality
- 29:38Speaker 2: producers in the business. Hold on, I see you about
- 29:40Speaker 2: to fucking go off. What I'm saying is being a producer,
- 29:44Speaker 2: I do feel that there is a reason the network
- 29:48Speaker 2: and the producers brought in new cast members because they
- 29:51Speaker 2: felt that the synergy between as you guys call yourselves
- 29:55Speaker 2: ogs and the new bees, well there's.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Like ooog's OG's and then o.
- 30:00Speaker 2: G, oh my god, I'm getting I know it's a lot, okay,
- 30:03Speaker 2: but either way, I think the balance is probably very
- 30:06Speaker 2: healthy for the show, and I think that you are
- 30:09Speaker 2: very sensitive.
- 30:10Speaker 1: But Babe, this is why I'm not a fucking producer.
- 30:14Speaker 2: Yeah, clearly, because they know what the fuck is of
- 30:17Speaker 2: That's why I'm.
- 30:18Speaker 3: Invested in the storylines that I know are going on
- 30:22Speaker 3: with people that I want.
- 30:23Speaker 2: You're invested in your fucking storylines.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Oh yeah, more than anybody's, right obviously. Oh my god,
- 30:34Speaker 1: enough about these people. Let's fast forward to me.
- 30:36Speaker 2: Me let me Okay, that's on family guy. Wait, okay, all.
- 30:43Speaker 3: Right, Well before I start throwing shit across the kitchen
- 30:46Speaker 3: because I'm so angry that you don't agree with me.
- 30:49Speaker 1: Yeah, let's take another break. We'll be back. We are back. Yes,
- 31:05Speaker 1: we're back, and I've calmed down. I feel very Then
- 31:09Speaker 1: now I feel great that I got a lot of
- 31:11Speaker 1: shit off my chest.
- 31:13Speaker 3: I got to share about our wedding plans, which, by
- 31:16Speaker 3: the way, is important for us, Randall.
- 31:20Speaker 1: At some point, high I'm getting.
- 31:23Speaker 2: The voice smails ready, somebody has to also where produce
- 31:27Speaker 2: the show.
- 31:27Speaker 1: Okay, we have not yet rescheduled our wedding.
- 31:33Speaker 2: We've tentatively said July. But we have to wait for safety,
- 31:38Speaker 2: for people to tell us that right safety, So we
- 31:40Speaker 2: don't know our wedding could be. I mean, as soon
- 31:43Speaker 2: as the world is a safe place to go, that's
- 31:46Speaker 2: when our wedding will happen.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Month's good.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Okay, all right, I got a bunch of voice smails
- 31:51Speaker 2: for you.
- 31:51Speaker 3: Did you see that meme where it was like before
- 31:54Speaker 3: I used to cough to cover a fart, Now I
- 31:57Speaker 3: fart to cover a cough.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Okay, let's go to our voicemails. Here's the voice The first.
- 32:05Speaker 4: Voicemail, Hi, Lala and Randal. Is this Emily calling from Toronto.
- 32:10Speaker 4: I absolutely love your love story from your podcast A
- 32:14Speaker 4: Couple Like as a Couple podcasts ago. My question is
- 32:18Speaker 4: for both of you, Laila, how did you tell Randall
- 32:22Speaker 4: about your anxiety? I have bipolar and I don't know
- 32:26Speaker 4: how to tell any guy that I'm dating that I
- 32:29Speaker 4: have it without him running away or thinking that I'm crazy.
- 32:33Speaker 4: So I'm just searching advice from you as a woman
- 32:36Speaker 4: and Randall as a man of what I should do.
- 32:38Speaker 4: Love you, So thanks.
- 32:40Speaker 1: This is a really great I love this question.
- 32:44Speaker 3: So I would say my advice would be like I
- 32:48Speaker 3: don't feel like I ever had to tell Randal. I
- 32:50Speaker 3: think as our relationship progressed, he saw that I struggled
- 32:54Speaker 3: with those things. But we had kind of a whirlwind romance.
- 32:58Speaker 3: It was like very much like we hung out one
- 33:01Speaker 3: night and we were inseparable after that.
- 33:04Speaker 2: Correct.
- 33:04Speaker 1: But I think if I were out and.
- 33:06Speaker 3: Like dating somebody talking about mental struggles that you have,
- 33:11Speaker 3: whether you're bipolar or you have anxiety or depression, I
- 33:15Speaker 3: think it's something that obviously has a stigma behind it,
- 33:18Speaker 3: but I don't. I literally don't have one friend who
- 33:21Speaker 3: doesn't have some sort of medication that they.
- 33:24Speaker 4: Have to take.
- 33:25Speaker 1: So for me, I think that talking about that stuff
- 33:29Speaker 1: is obviously very productive.
- 33:31Speaker 3: But you have to that person that you're dating has
- 33:34Speaker 3: to number one, he has to earn you talking about
- 33:38Speaker 3: that with him.
- 33:38Speaker 1: He has to be a safe place for you.
- 33:41Speaker 2: I agree. I want to say this, I agree with
- 33:43Speaker 2: you law that you know when you feel safe. First
- 33:46Speaker 2: of all, get to know somebody, get to know them date,
- 33:49Speaker 2: that's the honeymoon phase. And then if you're starting to
- 33:52Speaker 2: get real serious with that person, you should be able
- 33:55Speaker 2: and feel comfortable at that moment, at the right moment
- 33:57Speaker 2: where they're not going to judge you. I didn't judge
- 33:59Speaker 2: law when when Lawa I knew had anxiety very early on,
- 34:03Speaker 2: and you know, we talked about it, and she talked
- 34:06Speaker 2: about it openly. You know, it was lucky and I
- 34:08Speaker 2: even encourage her to talk to somebody to like, you know,
- 34:12Speaker 2: help you get on track. But Laala always had been
- 34:14Speaker 2: dealing with her anxiety, was very open with it. It
- 34:16Speaker 2: wasn't like something I had a pry out of her.
- 34:18Speaker 1: She was you were very like you were always because
- 34:21Speaker 1: you made me feel safe.
- 34:22Speaker 3: So with this question, like, I'm not saying to be
- 34:27Speaker 3: ashamed of any sort of I don't even like the
- 34:30Speaker 3: word mental illness, just a mental struggle, because I'm telling
- 34:33Speaker 3: you what, anybody that you're going to be dating is
- 34:35Speaker 3: going to have their own set of baggage that you're
- 34:37Speaker 3: going to have to learn how to deal with. So
- 34:40Speaker 3: I would just make sure that that person is worthy
- 34:44Speaker 3: of you talking to them about the struggles that you have,
- 34:47Speaker 3: because that's a privilege that makes it a person.
- 34:50Speaker 2: I agree, and I just I'll second that if you're
- 34:52Speaker 2: if this is the right guy and he loves you
- 34:54Speaker 2: and cares about you, and you guys are in the
- 34:56Speaker 2: right you know right place and you're really moving forward,
- 34:59Speaker 2: then he's just going to be there to support you
- 35:01Speaker 2: and whatever it takes to be by your side. There'll
- 35:04Speaker 2: be no judgment. Otherwise he's the wrong fucking guy and
- 35:06Speaker 2: kick them with the curb.
- 35:07Speaker 1: Amen Baby's voicemail.
- 35:09Speaker 6: Paying my questions for a la lat.
- 35:11Speaker 7: You don't really speak.
- 35:12Speaker 4: Much on your podcast about your story coming into vander
- 35:17Speaker 4: Pump Rules, and I wanted to see if you could
- 35:19Speaker 4: maybe talk about your journey and how you became a
- 35:23Speaker 4: employee within the vander Pump Rules cast and the restaurants
- 35:29Speaker 4: and if you apply to the restaurant knowing that the
- 35:33Speaker 4: show was going on, or just kind of your journey.
- 35:36Speaker 5: I love you both, and I love the podcast.
- 35:38Speaker 6: I listened to it every week.
- 35:39Speaker 1: So another great question.
- 35:43Speaker 3: I love these voicemails. It's one of my favorite parts
- 35:45Speaker 3: of the podcast. So my journey to vander Pump Roule's
- 35:49Speaker 3: true story. I remember living in Utah and they did
- 35:53Speaker 3: that like segue thing from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
- 35:57Speaker 3: into the new show, which was vander Pump Rowles. I
- 36:00Speaker 3: remember looking at my mom and being like, who the
- 36:02Speaker 3: fuck is ever gonna watch that show? Keep in mind
- 36:04Speaker 3: when that show came to be my best friend and
- 36:08Speaker 3: lady of honor, who's literally sitting next to me. Madison
- 36:10Speaker 3: and her sister were working at Sir. I had been
- 36:13Speaker 3: going there like anytime I traveled to LA So when
- 36:16Speaker 3: I decided to move, Madison and her sister Danny.
- 36:19Speaker 1: Were like, we can get you a job to pay
- 36:21Speaker 1: your rent and your bills. At Sir.
- 36:24Speaker 3: Most people will say I've never seen it, but then
- 36:27Speaker 3: you talk to them for five minutes and they know
- 36:29Speaker 3: every single thing about every episode. That's I genuinely had
- 36:33Speaker 3: never watched the show. Still to this day haven't watched
- 36:35Speaker 3: any season up until I came on to it. Obviously,
- 36:39Speaker 3: then I watched every episode with me in it. But
- 36:43Speaker 3: I was still going to the restaurant and Lisa came
- 36:46Speaker 3: up to me and was like she saw me mingling
- 36:49Speaker 3: with everybody that was working there, and she was like,
- 36:52Speaker 3: would you like to be a hostess here? And I
- 36:54Speaker 3: told her my sob story that I'm terrified to work there.
- 36:56Speaker 3: The restaurant is crazy busy. I freak out under pressure. Yeah,
- 37:00Speaker 3: that was pressure for me. She talked me into it,
- 37:02Speaker 3: and with that position as a hostess, I became a
- 37:07Speaker 3: part of the rest is history.
- 37:08Speaker 2: Very good to give them, La bitch. Okay, here's our
- 37:12Speaker 2: next question, nice voicemail.
- 37:14Speaker 7: Hi, Lala and Random. My name is Melissa. I'm from
- 37:17Speaker 7: New York. I'm really big fans of both of you, Wala,
- 37:21Speaker 7: love you so much.
- 37:22Speaker 2: But my question is actually for Rand.
- 37:24Speaker 7: Though I am actually a third year in college and
- 37:28Speaker 7: I'm studying TV and film and I'm my focus production.
- 37:31Speaker 7: I want to know if you had any advice for
- 37:33Speaker 7: like college students, because I really want to work in
- 37:36Speaker 7: like behind the scenes, and I know, like that's what
- 37:39Speaker 7: you do. You work to production, mind the scenes, like
- 37:41Speaker 7: you worked up to be director, Like I want to
- 37:43Speaker 7: know if you just give me advice. Thank you so much.
- 37:46Speaker 2: I love you both. Buy that is a good question.
- 37:48Speaker 2: What I would recommend because I went to college in
- 37:50Speaker 2: New York City. I went to school Visual Arts on
- 37:52Speaker 2: twenty third Street, and what I prided myself on during
- 37:56Speaker 2: college was that if you have a couple of days
- 38:00Speaker 2: a week, because a lot of people in college have
- 38:02Speaker 2: to have full time jobs or partners does but assuming
- 38:05Speaker 2: you have one day or two days a week, I
- 38:07Speaker 2: would not wait for the school to help you. I
- 38:10Speaker 2: would figure out what you want to do. Let's pretend
- 38:13Speaker 2: you like I wanted to be a producer at that
- 38:15Speaker 2: time and only want to produce. So I called around
- 38:18Speaker 2: to the various TV shows, the different production companies, and
- 38:21Speaker 2: I got internships, and I told them I will work
- 38:23Speaker 2: for free, I will do whatever it takes, and they
- 38:25Speaker 2: would hire me as an intern, and then I would
- 38:27Speaker 2: get to be all hands on deck access. And I'm
- 38:31Speaker 2: telling you that working at talent agencies in different places
- 38:34Speaker 2: like that as an intern gave me a much clearer
- 38:37Speaker 2: path of what I wanted to do, what I didn't
- 38:39Speaker 2: want to do, where I wanted to start when I
- 38:41Speaker 2: got out of college. And you'll have a lot of
- 38:43Speaker 2: connections by the time you graduate. So what I suggest
- 38:46Speaker 2: to everybody is, if you're in college, take advantage of
- 38:50Speaker 2: those four years I was interning. I didn't go through
- 38:53Speaker 2: the college department for internships, which a lot of them
- 38:56Speaker 2: have phenomenal internship departments. But I didn't want to wait,
- 38:58Speaker 2: and I just picked where I wanted to work and
- 39:00Speaker 2: I just called these people up. I worked at CBS,
- 39:03Speaker 2: I worked different places. So my advice be a go getter.
- 39:06Speaker 2: Don't wait for things to come to you, pick up
- 39:08Speaker 2: the phone, get an internship. If you hate that internship
- 39:10Speaker 2: you're working for, free quit and go to the place
- 39:13Speaker 2: until you finally find your place. A lot of my
- 39:15Speaker 2: friends who were in film school ended up with the
- 39:18Speaker 2: job that they had as an intern as their first
- 39:21Speaker 2: job out of college. So there you go.
- 39:23Speaker 3: You want to know what my mom always told me,
- 39:25Speaker 3: tell me squeaky wheel gets the grease, which is why
- 39:29Speaker 3: I have always been that annoying person that's like, I'm
- 39:31Speaker 3: gonna call you twenty four to seven until you give
- 39:33Speaker 3: me a solid answer, which is yes, we're interested, No
- 39:36Speaker 3: we're not, so be a motherfucking squeaker.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Next voicemail, Okay, uh here we go.
- 39:44Speaker 6: Hi, Lala and Randall.
- 39:45Speaker 5: My name's Olivia. I just wanted to say that I
- 39:47Speaker 5: love the podcast Love You Laala on vander Punt Ruled
- 39:51Speaker 5: and Randall. I loved your premiere the other day, it
- 39:54Speaker 5: was so exciting. My question was, Laala, we obviously know
- 40:00Speaker 5: that's not.
- 40:01Speaker 6: Your birth name.
- 40:02Speaker 5: I wanted to know where exactly that La La kent
- 40:04Speaker 5: from the meeting behind that, if you've actually legally changed
- 40:08Speaker 5: your name to that, and why you chose to use
- 40:11Speaker 5: La La Kent on your wedding invitation instead of your
- 40:14Speaker 5: birth name. If you've mentioned that, Omanda Pump, I'm sorry,
- 40:17Speaker 5: but I was just curious.
- 40:18Speaker 2: I just want to say one thing before you say that.
- 40:20Speaker 2: So many people have said to me, you know, why
- 40:23Speaker 2: does she use her legal name. It's actually a really
- 40:25Speaker 2: good question.
- 40:26Speaker 3: So I was born Lauren Burningham, and everyone called me
- 40:31Speaker 3: Lauren Birmingham, so they I call you Lauren, you call
- 40:35Speaker 3: me Lauren.
- 40:35Speaker 1: Okay.
- 40:36Speaker 3: So at a very young age, like, my nickname was
- 40:39Speaker 3: always la la and in high school people called me
- 40:43Speaker 3: La La.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Bee super gangster, and I don't know about that. It
- 40:48Speaker 1: was gangster, it was super.
- 40:52Speaker 2: I just want to say one thing anyway, what Ran
- 40:55Speaker 2: City is not super gangster.
- 40:56Speaker 3: Oh, we don't play in the eight to one the
- 40:58Speaker 3: East Side. We can't until about eighty.
- 41:01Speaker 2: Let's get to a question, okay.
- 41:04Speaker 1: So I was then going by Lauren.
- 41:08Speaker 3: I switched it and still went by Lauren, and switched
- 41:11Speaker 3: it to Kent because I didn't want to ask my
- 41:13Speaker 3: dad out completely.
- 41:14Speaker 1: My dad's first name is Kent, so I took his
- 41:15Speaker 1: first name as my last name when I moved out
- 41:18Speaker 1: to la No joke.
- 41:20Speaker 3: Danny my my bff, my sister, Snatty's sister was introducing
- 41:26Speaker 3: me to everybody as La La. So all of the sudden,
- 41:29Speaker 3: it wasn't just people that I knew really well that
- 41:32Speaker 3: were calling me that nickname.
- 41:34Speaker 1: It was like everybody knew me as just Lala.
- 41:38Speaker 3: So that's where like the name Lala stuck. But really
- 41:42Speaker 3: it was a name given to me because no one
- 41:43Speaker 3: could say Lauren. Everyone said Lauren, and everyone thinks that
- 41:46Speaker 3: I go by La la Ken because I'm a shamed.
- 41:48Speaker 3: They're like Lauren Burningham from Utah.
- 41:51Speaker 1: I'm like, bitch, I know my fucking name, I know
- 41:53Speaker 1: my name, I know where I'm from.
- 41:55Speaker 2: Boo, that's aggressive. And I asked my mom, I put
- 41:57Speaker 2: laa about what about what about our friend Johnathan Chen
- 42:00Speaker 2: who legally changed his name.
- 42:01Speaker 1: The food God Amazing?
- 42:03Speaker 2: That'd be so so so if you're going to Laala Kent, well,
- 42:06Speaker 2: and I put.
- 42:07Speaker 3: Laala Kent on the wedding invite because if I were
- 42:09Speaker 3: to put my legal name Lauren Burningham, I.
- 42:12Speaker 2: Don't think anybody. I don't think no one would.
- 42:14Speaker 1: Know who that was. They'd be like, who's fucking wedding
- 42:16Speaker 1: is this?
- 42:18Speaker 3: I did ask my mom though, I was like, would
- 42:19Speaker 3: you care if I legally switched my name because my
- 42:22Speaker 3: mom wants to legally switch her name from Burningham to
- 42:24Speaker 3: Kent as well. And I was like, would you care
- 42:28Speaker 3: if I switched my name to Lala? Because they like,
- 42:30Speaker 3: I don't know, it's just like your fa. Your parents
- 42:32Speaker 3: sit there and they're like, what should we name her?
- 42:34Speaker 3: Like it's a cue, it has a meaning behind it.
- 42:36Speaker 1: And she was like, I wouldn't care.
- 42:37Speaker 2: Here's what I think?
- 42:38Speaker 1: Do you boo?
- 42:39Speaker 2: Can I get my opinion on this?
- 42:40Speaker 3: What?
- 42:41Speaker 2: Could you just keep your name and your other name
- 42:44Speaker 2: and you just have both?
- 42:45Speaker 1: Thanks?
- 42:46Speaker 2: Dad?
- 42:47Speaker 1: No, I cannot. I'm actually I'm definitely.
- 42:51Speaker 2: You're in a real arm. I'm changing the name though.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Because I'm going to switch my last name this justin
- 42:58Speaker 1: to dun da da dah and it.
- 43:03Speaker 2: All right? Look, oh look you look so happy right now.
- 43:07Speaker 2: On that note, because we're gonna wrap this up soon,
- 43:09Speaker 2: I want to tell you what I've planned for our
- 43:11Speaker 2: next podcast, which we're gonna go every week we have.
- 43:14Speaker 1: Any lightsol because I'm definitely life sooling that mic.
- 43:16Speaker 2: Could I please tell you what our next Where we're
- 43:19Speaker 2: going to record our next podcast. Yes, since we're going
- 43:22Speaker 2: to be in quarantine for a while, I have rented
- 43:26Speaker 2: a motor home, something I've never done before. Okay, and
- 43:30Speaker 2: we are going to go on the open road alone
- 43:33Speaker 2: because we were in quarantine. So we'll be living in
- 43:36Speaker 2: this motor home. We will not be interacting with any
- 43:38Speaker 2: other people, will shop, we'll get all take all the
- 43:41Speaker 2: growth frite on nowse load up our motor home and
- 43:44Speaker 2: we're going to go out to the wilderness together.
- 43:47Speaker 3: I love it because Randall's like, I've never done this before,
- 43:49Speaker 3: because you're a Miami kid. I'm a Utah bitch like
- 43:51Speaker 3: I grew up camping motor I'm petrified.
- 43:54Speaker 2: I'm petrified. I'm petrified.
- 43:55Speaker 1: We're going to have the best time.
- 43:57Speaker 2: But you know, you know what I'm excited about. It's
- 44:00Speaker 2: either live in the motor home out in the wilderness
- 44:03Speaker 2: or live in our house. And I think, you know what,
- 44:05Speaker 2: this will be an adventure. We won't be around anybody,
- 44:08Speaker 2: and we'll read, we'll hang out, we'll make s'mores and.
- 44:13Speaker 3: We'll That's really what I hope Like people that are
- 44:16Speaker 3: in quarantine and they're healthy, I hope that people really
- 44:20Speaker 3: take advantage of just like loving their loved ones in
- 44:22Speaker 3: quality time. Yeah, and I understand it's stressful to go
- 44:27Speaker 3: through what we're going through. But if there is a
- 44:29Speaker 3: bright side, that's it that we get to be with
- 44:31Speaker 3: each other and just like disconnect me.
- 44:33Speaker 2: Well, I almost think like the whole world is being
- 44:36Speaker 2: forced to take a time out, and none of us.
- 44:39Speaker 2: I don't want to see none of us. So there's
- 44:41Speaker 2: a lot of people that take a lot of time
- 44:42Speaker 2: outs and really do it and know how to manage
- 44:44Speaker 2: their time, but a lot of people also don't. I'm
- 44:47Speaker 2: not the best at that, and I think this is
- 44:50Speaker 2: like forcing me and you to just say, hey, you
- 44:54Speaker 2: know what, there's nothing we can do about what's going
- 44:57Speaker 2: on except pray, be there for people and be supportive
- 45:01Speaker 2: and be educated.
- 45:02Speaker 1: The only thing we can do is eat, pray and love.
- 45:05Speaker 2: But what I'm saying is that this I think it's
- 45:08Speaker 2: nice to like get in the get in the camp.
- 45:10Speaker 1: Or drive out to I want to show you how
- 45:12Speaker 1: the Utah bitches.
- 45:14Speaker 5: No.
- 45:14Speaker 2: I already took it. I took on the phone that
- 45:16Speaker 2: gave me a whole lesson where I have to change
- 45:18Speaker 2: the water, and I talked about the generator. I'm very
- 45:21Speaker 2: educated today. I'm there.
- 45:24Speaker 3: Okay, Before we sign off, I want to let you
- 45:28Speaker 3: guys know that myself and DJ James Kennedy have a
- 45:31Speaker 3: new song dropping on iTunes, Spotify.
- 45:34Speaker 1: And wherever else you get your music. It's called Playboy Bunny.
- 45:39Speaker 2: When when is it dropping Friday? Yeah, well that's we're
- 45:43Speaker 2: all quarantine.
- 45:44Speaker 3: We could definitely listen to me, yes, So I hope
- 45:47Speaker 3: you enjoy this podcast my loves. Make sure you go
- 45:49Speaker 3: and download Playboy Bunny on Friday, featuring Yours truly and
- 45:54Speaker 3: James Kennedy again.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Stay in wait.
- 45:57Speaker 2: I'm also for every download that you get on that song,
- 46:00Speaker 2: I'm going to donate one dollar per download to people
- 46:05Speaker 2: that are in need right now and in the in
- 46:07Speaker 2: the quarantine and the people that are you know, to
- 46:09Speaker 2: a cause to help people. I'm going to find a
- 46:11Speaker 2: charity that's funneling money to people in crisis right now.
- 46:15Speaker 2: So as many downloads as you get, I will donate,
- 46:18Speaker 2: and I hope you get ten thousand downloads so we
- 46:20Speaker 2: can make a good donation.
- 46:22Speaker 3: And this is why I love you, honey Bunny, and
- 46:24Speaker 3: I can't wait to be your wifey again for the
- 46:27Speaker 3: first time ever. I'm going to tell y'all stay in
- 46:29Speaker 3: slay your homes during this quarantine and we.
- 46:32Speaker 1: Will catch you next week. That Baby's Book.
- 46:38Speaker 6: Time. My name is and I was calling because I
- 46:41Speaker 6: just turned on your podcast. Randall's say that he has
- 46:45Speaker 6: eleven fans and La La has nine hundred thousand. I
- 46:50Speaker 6: just wanted to say, is that, Randall, I think you're
- 46:52Speaker 6: not giving yourself enough credit, and I think that you're
- 46:55Speaker 6: super likable and all that that almost every single one
- 46:59Speaker 6: of the tine hundred thousand pms is a fan of
- 47:02Speaker 6: you now as well, because you're super real and you're
- 47:06Speaker 6: a good dad and seem like an all around good person.
- 47:10Speaker 6: So before you saw yourself short, Randall, think about how
- 47:14Speaker 6: many people out there probably really do love you, and
- 47:18Speaker 6: don't be so quick to think that everyone's peen La La.
- 47:21Speaker 3: Thank you my loves to everyone who has already left
- 47:24Speaker 3: us epic messages.
- 47:25Speaker 2: And keep them coming because we love hearing from you guys.
- 47:28Speaker 1: Call us anytime at eight sixty six La La Pod.
- 47:31Speaker 1: That's eight sixty six La La Pod.
- 47:34Speaker 2: Yes, thank you, folks,
