- 0:03Speaker 1: To see a podcast call twenty five whists stuck in
- 0:07Speaker 1: football and they go a whizz.
- 0:10Speaker 2: So, yeah, it's too bad, But what did you expect.
- 0:13Speaker 1: It's a podcast call twenty five whist.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Souls twenty line. I mean, football's kind to hear, which
- 0:23Speaker 3: is exciting because we've been like struggling. Blow at Eddie,
- 0:26Speaker 3: Thank you welcome. Albert Breer coming up in a little bit.
- 0:29Speaker 3: The funniest thing and I guess if I had a
- 0:33Speaker 3: company credit card, I just would not use it at
- 0:35Speaker 3: the strip club. I would find a way to get money.
- 0:39Speaker 3: And that's kind of what's happened as a part of
- 0:41Speaker 3: this whole NFLPA, the whole scandal with the owners, and
- 0:44Speaker 3: really it comes down to this that Deshaun wants to
- 0:49Speaker 3: get all the guaranteed money. The owners were secretly colluding
- 0:51Speaker 3: to make sure nobody gets that again, so we're gonna
- 0:53Speaker 3: make sure it doesn't happen, but they can't really do that.
- 0:55Speaker 3: And then the guy that's representing the union, this is
- 0:58Speaker 3: a very rough version of this, the guy that's representing
- 1:00Speaker 3: the union is like, Okay, I can kind of throw
- 1:04Speaker 3: you guys a bone, but you throw me a bone later.
- 1:06Speaker 3: And so then they are investigating him, and then turns
- 1:08Speaker 3: out he's been using his credit card of the strip
- 1:10Speaker 3: club the company, and also that strip club should have
- 1:15Speaker 3: had like a better charged to name instead of like
- 1:21Speaker 3: Lucy's Diamonds Cabaret. It should just be like Money Center,
- 1:24Speaker 3: right right, Yeah, so yeah, we'll talk to Albert Brier
- 1:28Speaker 3: about that. I've never had a company credit card. I
- 1:32Speaker 3: still don't have one.
- 1:33Speaker 1: You don't. That's surprising to me.
- 1:35Speaker 3: I don't want one now, but I don't have one
- 1:38Speaker 3: because I never want to use one. I have people
- 1:41Speaker 3: that have them. Actually, I have them that I give
- 1:44Speaker 3: people for me. Like Mike, you have a credit card, mind,
- 1:48Speaker 3: I do have one?
- 1:49Speaker 1: Okay, Wow, it's crazy.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Morgan has one.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Morgan number one, Scuba has one.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Scuba has a company card, though, like I have people
- 1:56Speaker 3: that have cards on my account O business.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Mike has a Bobby Bones card.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Yes, oh, I thought you're talking about like an iHeart.
- 2:04Speaker 4: No.
- 2:05Speaker 3: No, Mike has a ME card right yeah, yeah, here's
- 2:07Speaker 3: your name on. So does Morgan number one.
- 2:09Speaker 5: Mike.
- 2:09Speaker 1: How hard is that to have that in your wallet?
- 2:11Speaker 1: I feel like I'd be.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Heard at all.
- 2:12Speaker 2: I just have it in there whenever we buy something
- 2:14Speaker 2: for the show or on the road or something. It's
- 2:16Speaker 2: gonna use it, never think about it, and don't.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Use it as the strip club. I want to see
- 2:21Speaker 3: where it's from.
- 2:23Speaker 1: That's crazy, is it?
- 2:24Speaker 4: Brandon?
- 2:24Speaker 3: Do you have one yet?
- 2:25Speaker 1: I don't know yet. So Brandon is gonna get one too.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Possibly Reed had one read I think out of one,
- 2:32Speaker 3: I think read which. By the way, Rea hit me
- 2:34Speaker 3: up last night. He was like, I miss playing golf.
- 2:37Speaker 1: They don't have that in Saint Louis.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna read his message. He said, I want
- 2:44Speaker 3: to play golf so bad.
- 2:47Speaker 1: How his voice?
- 2:48Speaker 3: How Saint Louis? He said, not terrible, just hate downtown.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Gonna be out here for a few weeks, So gonna
- 2:54Speaker 3: be out out of here. But he says, going to
- 2:56Speaker 3: be out here for a few weeks because we're headed
- 2:58Speaker 3: to New York for a few days. Yeah, Matt, he's
- 3:01Speaker 3: sister's wedding.
- 3:07Speaker 1: It's like Reid is right here.
- 3:09Speaker 3: He hates Saint Louis. But I think Reid possibly had
- 3:12Speaker 3: a credit card. Let me ask him. That just means
- 3:17Speaker 3: I trust you. If I'm giving your card and you're
- 3:18Speaker 3: gonna have to buy stuff that we're gonna need for
- 3:21Speaker 3: the operation. And I don't have to buy everything. What
- 3:30Speaker 3: does he have to do right now?
- 3:31Speaker 1: Nothing? Nothing?
- 3:32Speaker 3: What's hey, we're recording the podcast right now. We're talking
- 3:38Speaker 3: about you question. Did I ever give you a credit
- 3:41Speaker 3: card of mine? You did, not a physical copy, but
- 3:45Speaker 3: just pictures.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Got it?
- 3:48Speaker 3: So then what I did with him was even better.
- 3:51Speaker 3: I gave him a copy of pictures of my card
- 3:54Speaker 3: with numbers and the CVV.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Technically he still has it.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Oh he does, because he had to buy something the
- 4:00Speaker 3: other day.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I got a couple of a couple of
- 4:03Speaker 1: little gifts for myself. Read Is it hard having that
- 4:05Speaker 1: those numbers in hand? A little bit?
- 4:09Speaker 3: You know, I mean, it's just it's tempting, you know.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Can you use it at the strip club? I don't
- 4:15Speaker 3: know about the strip club, but I mean it works
- 4:18Speaker 3: perfectly at Sonic.
- 4:21Speaker 1: That's great.
- 4:22Speaker 3: I told him that you're not loving downtown Saint Louis.
- 4:26Speaker 3: It's not the greatest. I be honest. I'm ready to
- 4:28Speaker 3: move a little bit outside of the city. It's just
- 4:31Speaker 3: it's just scary. Man, just taking the dog out, I'm
- 4:35Speaker 3: like looking over my shoulder, man, try not to.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Say anything, look at anybody.
- 4:39Speaker 3: When do you get to move outside the city, like
- 4:42Speaker 3: next week or next year.
- 4:43Speaker 2: I wish.
- 4:45Speaker 3: So we're gonna start looking in January. Our lease in April.
- 4:49Speaker 3: But if we find something in January and it's open,
- 4:52Speaker 3: I'm just gonna be like, we're going year three years.
- 4:58Speaker 3: It's not too bad this. You just survive, survive for
- 5:01Speaker 3: six more months, like literally, Yeah, that's all.
- 5:03Speaker 1: That's all I'm doing.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Yeah, surviving, making my way.
- 5:06Speaker 5: Man.
- 5:07Speaker 3: I hope you have a good day. Thanks man, y'all too,
- 5:10Speaker 3: Love you guys, say Boddy.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Next time, can you talk to read as read?
- 5:16Speaker 4: Hey?
- 5:16Speaker 3: Man, is that an echo?
- 5:18Speaker 4: It sure is.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Hulk Cogan died seventy one years old. I made a
- 5:22Speaker 3: list of my favorite wrestlers of all time in Hulk's honor,
- 5:25Speaker 3: But then he didn't make it honor. I did my
- 5:28Speaker 3: mount rushmore of wrestlers. Okay, because Hould Cogan in my
- 5:32Speaker 3: lifetime is the biggest wrestler ever.
- 5:34Speaker 4: I did not know he died.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Yep, WHOA just died? Like this morning? Whoa? This goes
- 5:40Speaker 3: up Thursday afternoon and it happened this morning. Yeah, oh yeah,
- 5:43Speaker 3: I should tell you the story. Then, seventy one years old,
- 5:46Speaker 3: Hulk Cogan died cardiac arrest are saying, as of right now,
- 5:50Speaker 3: ambulance cops, the whole thing took him out in a stretcher.
- 5:52Speaker 5: I saw some posts like Jimmy Hart was saying, like
- 5:56Speaker 5: yesterday that he's like he's not doing too good.
- 5:58Speaker 2: I was like, but it's whole, but.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Yeah, he's not good.
- 6:02Speaker 3: I hate to have to break that news to you. Yeah,
- 6:04Speaker 3: we've been sitting with it a little bit because we
- 6:06Speaker 3: did it on the podcast number one on my Mount
- 6:09Speaker 3: Rushmore's Sting my favorite wrestler of all time and blonde
- 6:13Speaker 3: haired Sting to go to his face paint, but he
- 6:15Speaker 3: was black haired Sting in the trench coat way longer. Yeah,
- 6:19Speaker 3: but my favorite was California Sting.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't even know blonde haired Sting.
- 6:23Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Stone Colds a number two, yeah, nic show and definitely
- 6:27Speaker 3: number two at number three. I have the Ultimate Warrior
- 6:31Speaker 3: absolutely because I was a kid and I thought his
- 6:33Speaker 3: muscles were freaking huge and he wore those bands around
- 6:36Speaker 3: his arms and I shook the ropes. I loved Ultimate Warrior,
- 6:39Speaker 3: rooted for him to beat Hulk Hogan many times and
- 6:41Speaker 3: then finally rap Master pn news.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Oh I'm gonna have to google him.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know.
- 6:46Speaker 1: I don't know that one.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Very brief career, but I thought he was the coolest
- 6:51Speaker 3: because he rapped. He was terrible too. He'd be out
- 6:53Speaker 3: there and be like yo baby, yo baby yo. He
- 6:58Speaker 3: was my favorite rap Aster P and new News is
- 7:04Speaker 3: I wanna play a look for her, Go get ready,
- 7:06Speaker 3: break yourself, boys and girls. He comes out, He's in
- 7:07Speaker 3: like a unit hard.
- 7:10Speaker 6: Set that I should wrap for my wife if I
- 7:14Speaker 6: had to it, I wouldn't think twice. They can't just
- 7:19Speaker 6: make I don't kill what they say because that's not
- 7:23Speaker 6: They came into your news and play.
- 7:26Speaker 1: So if you don't listen.
- 7:28Speaker 6: Take my my sore ass the price.
- 7:35Speaker 5: By yo baby yo baby Yo, Yo baby, Yo baby
- 7:40Speaker 5: Yo Yo baby, yo baby yo.
- 7:46Speaker 4: Laugh.
- 7:49Speaker 3: It's so corny. That's pretty cool. But that was my favorite.
- 7:52Speaker 3: I think he had like a three month career. But
- 7:55Speaker 3: I loved rap Master Pan.
- 7:57Speaker 2: And his outfit. I mean, his his whole image. It's
- 8:00Speaker 2: even better.
- 8:02Speaker 1: And the PM the N is Paul New. That was
- 8:04Speaker 1: his name. Paul New.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Didn't know that. Don't think he had much of a
- 8:07Speaker 3: career other than rap Master P and News. A matter
- 8:09Speaker 3: of fact, I don't think rap Master P and News
- 8:11Speaker 3: had much of a career. I just thought it was
- 8:13Speaker 3: so cool that a guy came down and wrapped in
- 8:15Speaker 3: the middle of the ring.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Awesome, that is cool.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Yeah, rest in peace, Holcokeing seventy one years old. A
- 8:20Speaker 3: quarter of sports betters have missed bill payments over wagers.
- 8:24Speaker 1: What do you What do you mean? How do you
- 8:26Speaker 1: do that?
- 8:27Speaker 3: You don't pay a bill, you gamble with it instead.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Oh yeah, see they tell you that there's like a
- 8:34Speaker 1: little disclaimer there that says, do not do stuff like that.
- 8:38Speaker 1: This is for entertainment.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Only you ever done that. We're all looking at you. No, dude,
- 8:42Speaker 3: like all of us were looking at you.
- 8:45Speaker 1: I would never miss a bill because of gambling. Like,
- 8:48Speaker 1: have I put in a few extra deposits, yes, but
- 8:52Speaker 1: nothing where I'm going to get in trouble.
- 8:53Speaker 3: American's back close to one hundred fifty billion on sports
- 8:56Speaker 3: at least last year, according to the American Gaming Association.
- 8:59Speaker 3: US News and World Report polled twelve hundred people who
- 9:02Speaker 3: placed sports bets in the past six months, and thirty
- 9:04Speaker 3: percent have debts because of gambling. More than two and
- 9:07Speaker 3: ten admit they've verbally abused an athlete, either in person
- 9:10Speaker 3: or online. You guys need to chill out.
- 9:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:14Speaker 3: First of all, I love betting, but it's entertainment. It
- 9:17Speaker 3: needs to be treated as such. And it's awesome because
- 9:20Speaker 3: it makes me be involved in games and situations I
- 9:23Speaker 3: won't even care about. Like it brings entertainment to me.
- 9:26Speaker 3: If I bet twenty five bucks on something and then
- 9:29Speaker 3: I have nothing to do. But now I'm watching some
- 9:31Speaker 3: cricket game in India. I now have provided myself with
- 9:34Speaker 3: twenty five bucks of entertainment.
- 9:36Speaker 1: And if you're watching that cricket game in India, heye,
- 9:38Speaker 1: you're not alone. I've been there, man, Yeah, I've been there.
- 9:40Speaker 1: But it gets better.
- 9:43Speaker 3: You're treating them like they're kids who growing up being
- 9:47Speaker 3: made fun of.
- 9:47Speaker 1: No, it just say you're not alone, because I mean,
- 9:49Speaker 1: I'm sure people in that dark, dark place are thinking
- 9:51Speaker 1: like I'm the only idiot. No, you're not.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Have you been there, like in that dark place? Better
- 9:56Speaker 2: an idiot, like oh my.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Gosh, betting on a random horse race?
- 10:00Speaker 3: No, but like not paying your bills?
- 10:02Speaker 1: No, never been there, but yes, I I found myself
- 10:05Speaker 1: at like you know, eleven am trying to watch this syndicate,
- 10:09Speaker 1: this well simble cast of a race in California.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Yes, I've been there, and by racing means a dog race,
- 10:16Speaker 3: not even horse. Bill Belichick's getting a Hulu doc series
- 10:21Speaker 3: after Hard Knocks falls through and Jordan is Jordan, Hudson's
- 10:25Speaker 3: girlfriend is part of the oh executive produced Who is
- 10:28Speaker 3: This Guy Who was a Quarterback? In May that it
- 10:30Speaker 3: was Hudson who allegedly torpedoed a deal that would have
- 10:32Speaker 3: had the NFL coaching legend on Hard Knocks as he
- 10:35Speaker 3: embarked on his first season as head coach of North Carolina.
- 10:38Speaker 3: News broke yesterday that Hulu has shown interest in telling
- 10:40Speaker 3: the unc Belichick story in a proposed DOCU series. It
- 10:43Speaker 3: does appear Hudson has managed to involve herself with a
- 10:45Speaker 3: new deal. A firm controlled by Hudson has registered trademarks
- 10:48Speaker 3: for Chapel Bill. That's funny, Ya do your job Bill's
- 10:54Speaker 3: version and No Days Off Bill's version. Belichick's first game
- 10:58Speaker 3: as head coach at u NC is against TCU Monday,
- 11:01Speaker 3: September first, Pretty.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Quick, Gotta go. Chapel Bill, Chapel Bills, Bill, Chapel Bills.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Find Does everyone know?
- 11:10Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 11:10Speaker 1: I guess everyone knows that it's in Chapel Hill right.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Yeah, well if they if they don't, they wouldn't even
- 11:16Speaker 3: get Chapel Hill, right, Like to get Chapel Bill, you
- 11:20Speaker 3: have to get Chapel Hill. And so if you see
- 11:22Speaker 3: Chapel Bill and you don't get it and it's in
- 11:25Speaker 3: that blue, you wouldn't get it anyway if it said
- 11:27Speaker 3: Chapel Hill.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Yeah, right, that makes sense.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Yeah. ESPN has said to be closing in on the
- 11:33Speaker 3: next era defining media deal. Sources in the loop say
- 11:38Speaker 3: negotiations with NFL and ESPN are closing. The deal, those
- 11:42Speaker 3: sources say would see ESPN acquire NFL Media, which is
- 11:45Speaker 3: the arm of the league that focuses on content and
- 11:47Speaker 3: runs the NFL network. I do believe that they're getting
- 11:51Speaker 3: Red Zone Chain Zone. Yeah, that'd be one of the
- 11:53Speaker 3: products that they buy. It's no coincidence that this coming
- 11:56Speaker 3: fall we'll see ESPN's programming become available as a direct
- 11:59Speaker 3: to consumer product at twenty nine ninety nine a month.
- 12:02Speaker 3: I'm not sure what that means. I know what it
- 12:05Speaker 3: means is then you pay twenty nine ninety nine and
- 12:06Speaker 3: then you get ESPN. But I don't think they're coming
- 12:09Speaker 3: off of cable. I don't have cable. I have YouTube TV.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Mm hmm, yeah same.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Is that the same thing? What as cable?
- 12:17Speaker 3: Yes? Uh what do you mean.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Because like you say, you don't have cable? Is cables
- 12:21Speaker 1: even still exist?
- 12:21Speaker 3: Because yeah, yeah, like Spectrum or Infinity Yeah for sure?
- 12:26Speaker 2: Even direct TV?
- 12:27Speaker 3: Yeah still I think all that can which say provider. Yeah,
- 12:30Speaker 3: I use as my main provider YouTube TV, so I
- 12:33Speaker 3: get a ESPN, But then I also subscribe to ESPN already,
- 12:37Speaker 3: So I don't know how this direct consumer model changes things.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Maybe you don't have to have a package at all
- 12:41Speaker 3: and you can just buy ESPN for twenty nine ninety
- 12:43Speaker 3: nine a month. I don't know.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Yeah, like, well, maybe you don't have to have YouTube TV.
- 12:47Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying right as like a streaming service basically.
- 12:50Speaker 3: But then it's do you have no it's for people
- 12:54Speaker 3: who have no streaming services I assume, or not streaming
- 12:58Speaker 3: service providers for cable I hard.
- 13:00Speaker 1: To yeah, so hard.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Yeah, another way for them to get our money, how
- 13:03Speaker 3: about it?
- 13:04Speaker 1: Yep?
- 13:05Speaker 3: Eddie and I played another round of our golf tournament yesterday.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Okay, round two in the books, Round.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Two of four the humiliation games, okay, where I have
- 13:13Speaker 3: to give Eddie five hundred bucks if he wins, and
- 13:15Speaker 3: he has to dress up in a superman costume and
- 13:18Speaker 3: stay on the street corner for two hours holding a
- 13:19Speaker 3: sign this is Bobby's better golf than me, and then
- 13:21Speaker 3: grill from my wife and I in the same superhero costume.
- 13:25Speaker 1: That's gonna be weird and be honest.
- 13:27Speaker 3: And we played round two yesterday. Round one, I shot
- 13:30Speaker 3: at eighty four. Eddy shot at eighty five. Round two yesterday,
- 13:33Speaker 3: I shot at eighty four again and shot at eighty six.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Day So I am three strokes.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Back the same course, same course you're doing all four.
- 13:41Speaker 1: There, right, Yeah?
- 13:43Speaker 3: I did that because it was close and easy.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Yeah, why not? Yeah, we're not day So it's a dogfight, dude.
- 13:48Speaker 3: It's weird because like Eddie was getting malthed yesterday and
- 13:52Speaker 3: it wasn't the guy he usually is.
- 13:54Speaker 2: You're get mad, Yeah, I wasn't.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Something kind of just irked me the wrong way, you know.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Like a competitive Eddie came out.
- 14:00Speaker 3: People like Bobby.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Hits in the water and then he drops in the
- 14:03Speaker 1: middle of the fairway. I'm like, oh, you're gonna just
- 14:04Speaker 1: drop it in the middle of the fairway, like that's
- 14:05Speaker 1: where the drop is.
- 14:06Speaker 3: He was like he was mauthy way before that, by
- 14:08Speaker 3: the way, and if you go backward you can drop
- 14:10Speaker 3: it wherever. And I was backward from.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Work, and then in the middle of the fairway he goes, okay,
- 14:14Speaker 1: so he kicks it a foot backwards.
- 14:15Speaker 3: I'm like, I was, I was already backward and the
- 14:18Speaker 3: fairway's right by the water.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Now you dropped it in the middle of the fairway.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Not so yeah, am I gonna get a mouthy? Yeah?
- 14:25Speaker 1: I got a little mad.
- 14:26Speaker 3: When that ball went in the water, he yelled. This
- 14:28Speaker 3: is this is how dishonest he's being, because when that
- 14:31Speaker 3: ball went in the water, he yelled water So before who?
- 14:35Speaker 3: So before he this is this is the one point
- 14:38Speaker 3: because I have like three or four before this, But
- 14:40Speaker 3: this is how you know he's lying well, by the way,
- 14:43Speaker 3: one of the things that we were like, dude, like,
- 14:45Speaker 3: you're like yelling stuff I did hit in the water
- 14:47Speaker 3: was the only time hit on the water. And he
- 14:48Speaker 3: goes water right when it hit in. And so if
- 14:51Speaker 3: that's what made him mad, why was he already being
- 14:53Speaker 3: a drink before that the water?
- 14:55Speaker 1: No? No, no, I wasn't being mad about the water. Every
- 14:58Speaker 1: hole He's like, is that him because you know him
- 15:00Speaker 1: with a glass, I.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Can't see anything exactly.
- 15:02Speaker 1: So what I'm telling you it's in the water.
- 15:07Speaker 2: That's where the water comes from.
- 15:09Speaker 4: Not a single hole.
- 15:10Speaker 3: Was he like, it's in the middle, that's in the left.
- 15:12Speaker 3: But the one time I go on the water goes water.
- 15:14Speaker 2: I was assisting any hey, next shot man?
- 15:18Speaker 1: Any lot? No.
- 15:19Speaker 3: He he was so cranky yesterday the whole time on
- 15:21Speaker 3: the course. And when you drop, the water is right
- 15:24Speaker 3: by the fair away and there's a sliver of rough
- 15:28Speaker 3: and also Eddie was trying to move his ball and crap.
- 15:31Speaker 3: I was like, no, no, we leave it. But I
- 15:33Speaker 3: took a drop and I went backward for it dropped
- 15:35Speaker 3: in and He's like you're not back far enough. So
- 15:36Speaker 3: I kicked it back.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Even more and a penalty stroke.
- 15:40Speaker 3: But oh you know why it was because he hit
- 15:42Speaker 3: his ball ten feet off the tee leading up to that,
- 15:45Speaker 3: and the same hole he hit it ten feet off
- 15:47Speaker 3: the tee and that's why he started to get pissy.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Dude. Well was so frustrating. Is like there were these
- 15:51Speaker 1: holes where like Bobby would just you know, hit in
- 15:54Speaker 1: the water or something, and I'm just like, oh, this
- 15:56Speaker 1: is my chance, Like this is my chance to get
- 15:58Speaker 1: a stroke on him, two strokes even, and I could
- 16:00Speaker 1: never do it. So yeah, it got frustrating. It got frusted,
- 16:03Speaker 1: and the whole moody Eddie that you're seeing, I'm not
- 16:07Speaker 1: moody dude. This competitive Eddie. Man, you've never seen me before.
- 16:10Speaker 3: We played this part five and we don't do many gimmis,
- 16:16Speaker 3: but if it's close enough, really close, it's like's it
- 16:18Speaker 3: was hot, Like you can have it next hole. Yeah,
- 16:21Speaker 3: And so we're at one and it was close enough
- 16:24Speaker 3: to where it had been. Give me the whole time,
- 16:25Speaker 3: and Eddie's like, nope, put it, and I put it.
- 16:28Speaker 3: I missed it. That's fine because I did miss it.
- 16:30Speaker 3: And then he was like, god I did that, and
- 16:33Speaker 3: he got well, got to the next ta, the whole one,
- 16:38Speaker 3: and I'm not mad about it because you can't call
- 16:40Speaker 3: it anytime. And we get to the next tea and
- 16:42Speaker 3: I'm like, okay, this is where the cookie crumbles, because
- 16:44Speaker 3: anytime he gets like this, he falls apart. And Tom
- 16:48Speaker 3: is with us, our friend, and he goes, Yeah, I said, Eddie,
- 16:51Speaker 3: why do I said Tom, what do you think they call?
- 16:53Speaker 3: The cookie goes? Because he crumbles. I'm like exactly, Eddie
- 16:56Speaker 3: double bogie, next hole, double bogey crumbled.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Yeah, his head games, dude, head games with this guy.
- 17:01Speaker 1: You think they do that on the tour.
- 17:02Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 17:03Speaker 3: I said nothing. I said nothing the whole time until
- 17:05Speaker 3: he started to be like.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Water put it.
- 17:08Speaker 3: There was a club on a par three. You throw
- 17:11Speaker 3: your irons in between the green and the cart so
- 17:14Speaker 3: you don't forget them.
- 17:17Speaker 1: I know exactly what you said.
- 17:18Speaker 2: Good okay.
- 17:19Speaker 3: And so we both light our clubs down like our
- 17:22Speaker 3: sixty degrees and Eddie walks back, picks U up and
- 17:24Speaker 3: leaves mine on the ground.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Dang, we're in a match, man. You think Kepka picks
- 17:30Speaker 1: up Bryce. Bryce is the point a club and this
- 17:33Speaker 1: is my point your own club.
- 17:34Speaker 2: But does get you a little happy because you always
- 17:36Speaker 2: say Eddie doesn't have a competitive edge to him side
- 17:38Speaker 2: to him.
- 17:40Speaker 3: This is not this is him being a petulant child.
- 17:44Speaker 4: Okay, this is whining.
- 17:45Speaker 3: Yes, okay, okay, Hey.
- 17:47Speaker 1: I did see something, though I didn't want to point
- 17:48Speaker 1: out what's crazy? Like there was a hole where we
- 17:51Speaker 1: were I mean it was I think we were both
- 17:53Speaker 1: putting for pars. Maybe he made his par putt and
- 17:56Speaker 1: I got a bogie and he's walking off the green
- 17:59Speaker 1: and I see him put his hand up.
- 18:00Speaker 3: Like I did, Johnny Manzel money to this guy. I
- 18:03Speaker 3: thought I was praying, but I was doing Johnny Manziel
- 18:05Speaker 3: money because I just I'd hit it in the water
- 18:07Speaker 3: off the tee, but the water was like right down
- 18:09Speaker 3: the middle, and I didn't think I made it that far,
- 18:11Speaker 3: and I guess I hit it so good and went
- 18:13Speaker 3: in the water, which sucked, but I did hit it
- 18:15Speaker 3: pure and then I put it within five feet as
- 18:18Speaker 3: my approach best shot. I hit all day over two
- 18:20Speaker 3: waters onto like this, not an island green, but surrounded
- 18:24Speaker 3: by water green within five feet and I ended up
- 18:26Speaker 3: paring the hole. And so when I finished, I did
- 18:28Speaker 3: the money money Manziel to the sky and anything. I'm
- 18:31Speaker 3: praying that guy. You were like, no, I was. I
- 18:34Speaker 3: was like, because it was over then, that deserves a
- 18:38Speaker 3: Manziel money. Yeah, that round it was over then, But
- 18:40Speaker 3: he hana be a little baby.
- 18:42Speaker 2: So how was the last two gonna be?
- 18:44Speaker 5: Then?
- 18:44Speaker 4: Oh?
- 18:45Speaker 1: Dog fights? Dude?
- 18:47Speaker 2: Are how are you gonna be?
- 18:48Speaker 1: What you mean?
- 18:48Speaker 2: Like, are you gonna keep this?
- 18:50Speaker 1: By the way, I'm never macked talking way, got in the.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Car accident right before I played golf, so I was
- 18:55Speaker 3: all out like accidents. Well, somebody backed into my car.
- 18:58Speaker 3: Oh man, it was all dense in the back and
- 19:00Speaker 3: went straight from there.
- 19:01Speaker 1: You showed up in a neck brace and every range,
- 19:04Speaker 1: the arm past and everything. Dang, dude, you shot eighty four.
- 19:07Speaker 2: And you well you didn't see it though, like you
- 19:10Speaker 2: who you're calling.
- 19:12Speaker 3: That?
- 19:12Speaker 2: Guys, Guys relaxed. There's a little a fender bender, okay,
- 19:15Speaker 2: and you still have the mental like wear all.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Round.
- 19:19Speaker 3: Drone was like, oh god, because you find your cars.
- 19:21Speaker 3: It's a new car as well. Yeah, it sucks. How
- 19:25Speaker 3: do you how do you take your mind out of
- 19:27Speaker 3: that into competition? You know it's called championship compartmentalizing? Glad
- 19:31Speaker 3: you asked, Oh, there's a term for that, dude. So
- 19:35Speaker 3: we're two down, dang, so wait three three strokes? Yeah,
- 19:39Speaker 3: two rounds down of four, I'm up three strokes. I
- 19:42Speaker 3: can lose all three of those on one hole. I'm
- 19:43Speaker 3: not stupid.
- 19:44Speaker 1: We're gonna we're gonna need a big one.
- 19:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:46Speaker 2: But the fact that it's this closed after two, it's
- 19:47Speaker 2: pretty pretty good.
- 19:48Speaker 1: It's pretty awesome.
- 19:49Speaker 3: Yeah. No, it's winner's the winner.
- 19:53Speaker 1: I mean round one. He came in with a throbbing headache.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Head hurts, head hurts, round car crash, what's gonna I
- 20:00Speaker 1: never have the car.
- 20:01Speaker 3: I played the game without even talking to I mentioned
- 20:03Speaker 3: at the beginning, say somebody had my car, and then
- 20:05Speaker 3: I focused and play golf.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Yeah, round three person on eighteen, I just saw my
- 20:12Speaker 1: window smash in my house. Man, somebody's in my house
- 20:14Speaker 1: right now.
- 20:14Speaker 3: Somebody's got my wife kidnapped. But I'm here, I'm here,
- 20:18Speaker 3: I'm going to play off.
- 20:20Speaker 1: That's right.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Okay, Albert Breer coming up. Let's take a break and
- 20:24Speaker 3: we'll talk to him. Let's now talk with senior NFL
- 20:28Speaker 3: reporter or sports illustrated Albert Breer. I love Albert when
- 20:32Speaker 3: he's on anything. Right now, he's traveling training camp to
- 20:35Speaker 3: training camp. I think he's with the Packers right now.
- 20:37Speaker 3: And so we'll talk about Jordan Love, we'll talk about
- 20:40Speaker 3: Minnesota and JJ McCarthy because he just wrote an article
- 20:43Speaker 3: about that. And big thanks to Albert for coming on.
- 20:46Speaker 3: Follow him on Twitter at Albert Breer, keep up with
- 20:49Speaker 3: his insight and his articles here he is Albert Breer. Hey, Albert,
- 20:53Speaker 3: I appreciate the time. I know you're at Packers camp.
- 20:56Speaker 3: I imagine camp is like the first day of school.
- 20:58Speaker 3: This is my only relation to NFL football camp, where
- 21:01Speaker 3: everybody's kind of excited on day one and then they
- 21:04Speaker 3: slowly realize now they have a lot of camp to go.
- 21:06Speaker 3: Is that what camp's like?
- 21:08Speaker 5: Yeah, I would say, well, I think for everybody in football,
- 21:10Speaker 5: and this is the way I feel now having done
- 21:12Speaker 5: this for twenty one years. It's sort of like the
- 21:15Speaker 5: first day before so sort of like before doubles in
- 21:19Speaker 5: high school football, or like before the first day of
- 21:21Speaker 5: school when you're a kid, where you know, you kind
- 21:25Speaker 5: of look at it like you're staring down the barrel
- 21:27Speaker 5: of a gun before you, before you, before you get
- 21:30Speaker 5: into it, and then once you get into it, it's fine,
- 21:33Speaker 5: and then I would say, like maybe a weekend, ten
- 21:36Speaker 5: days in, it starts to wear on you a little bit.
- 21:38Speaker 5: So it's like this sort of natural progression. I think
- 21:41Speaker 5: that that we all kind of feel like me obviously
- 21:45Speaker 5: much less so than the players because I'm just driving
- 21:47Speaker 5: from camp to camp and talking with people, but yeah,
- 21:51Speaker 5: there's obviously a lot going on, and it's an interesting
- 21:54Speaker 5: time of year.
- 21:55Speaker 3: We were at Panthers camp last year we're gonna be
- 21:57Speaker 3: a Titans camp coming up this year, and it feels like,
- 22:00Speaker 3: if you are a young, multi multi millionaire, this is
- 22:04Speaker 3: one of the worst times of the year because it
- 22:06Speaker 3: is the biggest grind, it seems. And the Panthers camp,
- 22:08Speaker 3: they're not even in Charlotte. They're in like South Carolina
- 22:11Speaker 3: in like a at a college. If you're like a
- 22:14Speaker 3: rich young dude who is used to have an access
- 22:18Speaker 3: to everything, does this just suck?
- 22:19Speaker 4: Well, it depends on who you are, you know.
- 22:21Speaker 5: I think like first of all, it's like what camp
- 22:23Speaker 5: you're at right like, because some camps the players are sequestered,
- 22:27Speaker 5: Like the Panthers actually just moved their camp back to Charlotte,
- 22:31Speaker 5: so they're in a little bit of a different dynamic.
- 22:33Speaker 5: But the Chiefs go to this town like an hour
- 22:36Speaker 5: and a half north of the actual Kansas city and they're.
- 22:39Speaker 4: Staying in the dorms. You know.
- 22:42Speaker 5: The Rams went away to camp and have gone away
- 22:46Speaker 5: to camp, and for a bunch of years they were
- 22:49Speaker 5: staying in this like beautiful resort in Newport Beach in
- 22:55Speaker 5: Orange County, you know, So it sort of depends on
- 22:58Speaker 5: what team you're at.
- 22:58Speaker 4: And then like for a lot of the guys.
- 23:00Speaker 5: It's the rules too, Like there are some teams that
- 23:03Speaker 5: only make their young players stay in the hotel and
- 23:06Speaker 5: then the veteran players can can go home at night,
- 23:08Speaker 5: you know. So I think it's a different experience for everybody.
- 23:12Speaker 5: But yeah, I think like the the older the guys get,
- 23:15Speaker 5: the more the grind of it wears on them and
- 23:18Speaker 5: the more and and you also have like things that
- 23:20Speaker 5: you're doing that you have to get away from. It's
- 23:24Speaker 5: I think what most people would think, which is like
- 23:26Speaker 5: you're going from living that life to now all of
- 23:29Speaker 5: a sudden, it's sort of work.
- 23:30Speaker 4: Twenty four to seven.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Let's start with the packers for a second, because I
- 23:33Speaker 3: know that's where you are today. What's the expectation for
- 23:36Speaker 3: Jordan Love in general? Now?
- 23:38Speaker 5: I think the expectation is that he's gonna he's gonna
- 23:40Speaker 5: level up, and you know, he got paid last summer
- 23:43Speaker 5: and so he's now on on on this tier with
- 23:47Speaker 5: you know, Joe Burrow and you know some of his peers,
- 23:50Speaker 5: justin Herbert and two a tongue of Aloa and you
- 23:55Speaker 5: know for all of those guys, really the dynamic changes
- 23:58Speaker 5: a little bit after you get paid, because when you're
- 24:01Speaker 5: on a rookie contract, a team can build aggressively around you,
- 24:04Speaker 5: and the Packers, you know, have have been pretty aggressive
- 24:07Speaker 5: and building around Jordan Love, and then you know they
- 24:10Speaker 5: after you get the big contract. Now that means that
- 24:14Speaker 5: they have to be a little bit more conservative and
- 24:17Speaker 5: have a little more long range thinking in the way
- 24:19Speaker 5: that they're putting the team together, which is sensibly means
- 24:22Speaker 5: that you've got to be a little.
- 24:23Speaker 4: Bit more of a force multiplier.
- 24:25Speaker 5: And I think there were some growing pains with that
- 24:27Speaker 5: with Jordan Love, Like I think a lot of people
- 24:29Speaker 5: thought the way he finished twenty three like this was
- 24:33Speaker 5: a rocket ship, you know.
- 24:34Speaker 4: What I mean, Like the way he played in the playoffs.
- 24:37Speaker 5: And the way he played at the end of the
- 24:38Speaker 5: regular season, like that was just gonna that was just
- 24:41Speaker 5: going to roll right in twenty twenty four, and you know,
- 24:43Speaker 5: the Packers have their answer for the next fifteen years
- 24:45Speaker 5: the way they want to do with Farvan Rogers. And
- 24:48Speaker 5: it was a bumpy or second year for him. So
- 24:51Speaker 5: there are some moving parts on the offensive line right now.
- 24:55Speaker 5: They're bringing in Matthew Golden to a group of young
- 24:59Speaker 5: receivers they brought along the last few years Obviously Christian
- 25:02Speaker 5: Watson's hurt, but do Tavian Wicks and Jaden Red and
- 25:06Speaker 5: Romeo Dobbs and so, you know, like I think it's
- 25:10Speaker 5: really kind of more on Jordan Love to be the
- 25:12Speaker 5: leader now and to be the force multiplier, you know,
- 25:15Speaker 5: like to be the guy that's starting to lift the
- 25:18Speaker 5: people up around him, and that's going to start with him,
- 25:21Speaker 5: you know, cleaning up some of the turnover issues, playing
- 25:23Speaker 5: more efficient ball, you know, and then I think getting
- 25:27Speaker 5: getting the most out of a young receiver group that
- 25:30Speaker 5: he's grown up with.
- 25:31Speaker 3: Trey Hendrickson is not even in Ohio, Like he's like,
- 25:34Speaker 3: I'm out, I'll see you when I see. Are we
- 25:37Speaker 3: anywhere close to resolving that?
- 25:39Speaker 5: I would say that is one of the more unpredictable
- 25:42Speaker 5: contract disputes of the last few years, Like because there is.
- 25:47Speaker 4: So much water under the bridge, Bobby. Two years ago
- 25:52Speaker 4: this really began.
- 25:53Speaker 5: And part of the reason why he's in this position
- 25:55Speaker 5: in the first place is because the Bengals got a
- 25:58Speaker 5: pretty deep discount on him when they sign him the
- 26:00Speaker 5: Saints because they were sort of in a COVID economy
- 26:03Speaker 5: where the cap.
- 26:04Speaker 4: Was depressed, and so you know, he.
- 26:07Speaker 5: Produced at a high level for him, and the contract
- 26:09Speaker 5: wasn't pacing with his production. So two years ago, you know,
- 26:13Speaker 5: he he really pushed for a new deal. They did
- 26:17Speaker 5: a band aid one year extension. He tried to push
- 26:20Speaker 5: again last year, nothing happened. So this is the third
- 26:22Speaker 5: offseason that they've been in this situation where he's been
- 26:25Speaker 5: fighting for.
- 26:26Speaker 4: He's been fighting for a contract.
- 26:28Speaker 5: So a guy who's been through all of that generally
- 26:30Speaker 5: isn't going to take a hometown discount. And the pass
- 26:33Speaker 5: rusher market has exploded. So you have Miles Garrett at forty,
- 26:36Speaker 5: have TJ. Watt at forty one. You have Denil Hunter
- 26:38Speaker 5: and Max Crosby who are also older players. Those guys
- 26:42Speaker 5: are now in the mid thirties, and so how do
- 26:47Speaker 5: you how do you get him a deal that's commensurate
- 26:50Speaker 5: with the guys at thirty five sacks the last years.
- 26:53Speaker 4: And then there's the way that they've done their own contracts.
- 26:55Speaker 5: The Bengals had strict rules on guarantees and structure and
- 26:58Speaker 5: all that stuff. They broke those rules to keep Joe Burrow.
- 27:01Speaker 5: They signed the two receivers this offseason.
- 27:04Speaker 4: One kind of went.
- 27:05Speaker 5: In that Burrow bucket where he's like a contract that
- 27:08Speaker 5: went beyond the president Styd set before that was Jamar
- 27:11Speaker 5: Chase and then T Higgins signed a little bit more
- 27:13Speaker 5: of a traditional deal the Bengals have done. So which
- 27:16Speaker 5: bucket are you in? He's in his thirties. I'm sure
- 27:19Speaker 5: the Bengals would look at and say, well, you know,
- 27:21Speaker 5: we want to put him more with T Higgins where
- 27:23Speaker 5: he's been fighting this fight for three offseasons.
- 27:25Speaker 4: So he'd be more on the on the on the
- 27:28Speaker 4: on the Chase side of it. So it looked like
- 27:30Speaker 4: they had momentum over the weekend.
- 27:32Speaker 5: Things really broke down on Monday, which I think precipitated
- 27:34Speaker 5: that long drive back to Florida. And I think because
- 27:37Speaker 5: of all that history that's there, it's a pretty unpredictable
- 27:40Speaker 5: one going forward.
- 27:41Speaker 3: It just seems like the Bengals are in disarray right
- 27:44Speaker 3: now more than ever. They can't sign Schmart Stewart from
- 27:47Speaker 3: Texas A and M either and so, and that's a
- 27:50Speaker 3: contract deal where it's and that was a clause deal,
- 27:53Speaker 3: right like like if you act bad, and Joe Burrow
- 27:56Speaker 3: has had to like step in and be like hey,
- 27:58Speaker 3: even like sub tweeting them like we need to get
- 28:01Speaker 3: our deals done. Is Cincinnati just a mess in general?
- 28:04Speaker 3: Is it because of the ownership there?
- 28:06Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 28:07Speaker 5: I think it's like I think it's your history follows you,
- 28:09Speaker 5: you know, and the reputation has always been that that
- 28:11Speaker 5: they're cheap.
- 28:13Speaker 4: It's I mean, it goes back to things.
- 28:16Speaker 5: That don't relate to any of this, you know, Like
- 28:18Speaker 5: they didn't have a practice bubble until a couple of
- 28:20Speaker 5: years ago, despite the fact they're in a northern climate.
- 28:23Speaker 5: Their scouting staff is very small, like, you know, four
- 28:26Speaker 5: guys and the scouting staff, and and Joe. I remember
- 28:29Speaker 5: having a conversation with Joe a few years ago about this,
- 28:32Speaker 5: and I remember him saying to me, the old Bengals
- 28:34Speaker 5: are dead. And I really think like Joe has taken
- 28:37Speaker 5: upon himself to try to change the face of the
- 28:39Speaker 5: organization and be the change agent there, you know. And
- 28:43Speaker 5: so he's had ways of putting pressure on the organization.
- 28:46Speaker 4: He put pressure on them, on Chas.
- 28:48Speaker 5: And Higgins, you know, and so it's it's not surprising
- 28:52Speaker 5: that he would try to do this with Hendrickson too.
- 28:56Speaker 4: I know, like how Joe values every football.
- 28:58Speaker 5: Season and how he views every season that goes by
- 29:02Speaker 5: without a championship as a missed opportunity. And I also
- 29:06Speaker 5: know he's well aware of the Bengals reputation and what
- 29:10Speaker 5: their reputation has been, not just over the years, but
- 29:11Speaker 5: over the decades, and so he's tried to be the
- 29:14Speaker 5: change agent.
- 29:15Speaker 4: And I think he's succeeded in a lot of different ways.
- 29:18Speaker 5: Their scouting staff is had this offseason, they added three
- 29:21Speaker 5: new scouts to the scouting staff without.
- 29:25Speaker 4: I think, while they only lost one. You know, so.
- 29:30Speaker 5: I think, you know, the Chase deal was a step
- 29:33Speaker 5: in the right direction. Burrows deal itself was a was
- 29:37Speaker 5: a step in the right direction.
- 29:38Speaker 4: And and we'll see where this one takes him.
- 29:40Speaker 5: But that's that's the reputation they've had a long time
- 29:42Speaker 5: that I think in both these situations, both with Stuart
- 29:45Speaker 5: and with Hendrickson, it's going to follow them.
- 29:48Speaker 3: Michael Parsons, speaking of Edge Rusher's last year of the
- 29:51Speaker 3: deal with Jerry Jones talking about ITIM like, well, what
- 29:53Speaker 3: is there any chance he doesn't end up a cowboy?
- 29:55Speaker 4: I don't think so.
- 29:57Speaker 5: Like, you know, there was a point earlier in the
- 29:59Speaker 5: off season where I said, like, I think, if if
- 30:03Speaker 5: you were another if you're another team in need a
- 30:05Speaker 5: pass rush, I would at least make the phone call.
- 30:07Speaker 5: And I'm not saying the team shouldn't now, but we're
- 30:10Speaker 5: in training camp, and are you going to be able
- 30:13Speaker 5: to get full value for Micah Parsons? And if you're
- 30:17Speaker 5: the Cowboys, are you going to be willing to give
- 30:19Speaker 5: up Michaeh Parsons for assets that you might not.
- 30:22Speaker 4: Be able to use this year?
- 30:24Speaker 5: They'd be you know, you'd be talking about trading for
- 30:26Speaker 5: draft picks that you're not going to be able to
- 30:29Speaker 5: They won't help you on the field until twenty twenty six,
- 30:32Speaker 5: you know, so I don't think so.
- 30:35Speaker 4: It's just been the Cowboys way of doing business.
- 30:38Speaker 5: And I can't say, Bobby that I fully understand why
- 30:42Speaker 5: they keep going down this road.
- 30:43Speaker 4: But it's a road they went down with Ceedee Lamb.
- 30:46Speaker 5: It's a road they went down with Dak Prescott at
- 30:49Speaker 5: one point a couple of summers ago. They went down
- 30:50Speaker 5: this road with Zach Martin where he was out of
- 30:52Speaker 5: camp for I think almost a month before he got
- 30:55Speaker 5: the adjustment he wanted to his contract. Generally, and a
- 30:59Speaker 5: team right there in the division has benefited from doing
- 31:01Speaker 5: business this way. The Eagles always get way ahead on
- 31:04Speaker 5: these things. Generally, if you've got a player that you're
- 31:09Speaker 5: really sure on, you want to sign him as early
- 31:11Speaker 5: as you can. And when it's a young player, the
- 31:13Speaker 5: first chance you have to do that is after three years.
- 31:16Speaker 5: The Cowboys didn't do that with Dak, they didn't do
- 31:19Speaker 5: that with CD, and they didn't do that now with Micah.
- 31:22Speaker 5: And in each case, at least with DAK and CD,
- 31:26Speaker 5: it cost them a lot of money to wait. So
- 31:28Speaker 5: I can't tell you exactly why you would want to
- 31:32Speaker 5: wait here. I know Micah hasn't been perfect, you know,
- 31:35Speaker 5: and there are you know, some some relationships in that
- 31:39Speaker 5: building like that, that some stuff that he's had to
- 31:42Speaker 5: that that that that he's fought through and the team's
- 31:44Speaker 5: fought through.
- 31:45Speaker 4: But he's such a great player.
- 31:47Speaker 5: I just I don't fully understand the logic on not
- 31:51Speaker 5: wanting to get this one done early so you pay
- 31:53Speaker 5: a little bit less than you would if you waited.
- 31:56Speaker 4: Like they have.
- 31:57Speaker 3: I was reading your article on MMQB about j McCarthy
- 32:01Speaker 3: and you know, obviously last year he didn't play at all,
- 32:03Speaker 3: but he was able to be around the game, and
- 32:05Speaker 3: Kevin O'Connell has and I work with Matt Castle, who
- 32:09Speaker 3: O'Connell was Castle's backup and their boys, and I've been
- 32:11Speaker 3: able to spend time with with with Kevin O'Connell, and
- 32:14Speaker 3: but he was talking about how that system fits any
- 32:18Speaker 3: I would say cerebral quarterback is if you can make
- 32:23Speaker 3: decisions quick, you will succeed in that Kevin O'Connell system.
- 32:26Speaker 3: How do you see JJ McCarthy coming along, being that
- 32:28Speaker 3: he didn't didn't get to play at all last year?
- 32:30Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I think two things.
- 32:31Speaker 5: Like you do feel the effects of losing the year,
- 32:34Speaker 5: you know of stuff in practice. One example I was
- 32:37Speaker 5: given just talking to the guys yesterday was how you know,
- 32:40Speaker 5: when you're in the scout team you learn kind of
- 32:42Speaker 5: like some of the subtleties to throwing the ball in
- 32:44Speaker 5: the NFL.
- 32:45Speaker 4: Like one thing JJ really had to work.
- 32:46Speaker 5: On was you know, what they call layering the ball
- 32:48Speaker 5: and learning to throw a little bit more touch and
- 32:51Speaker 5: takes taking some speed off his fastball. And that's something
- 32:53Speaker 5: when you're running the scout team that you can learn
- 32:56Speaker 5: to do that because you start to learn like, okay,
- 32:58Speaker 5: like this is what the windows look like in the NFL,
- 33:00Speaker 5: this is how I have to throw the ball to
- 33:02Speaker 5: complete it, and he lost all of that, like all
- 33:05Speaker 5: that works, so he definitely had some catching up to
- 33:08Speaker 5: do from that perspective, lost some of the meeting time
- 33:10Speaker 5: that he would have had last year. I mean, it's
- 33:12Speaker 5: a really hard year on him for sure, Like he
- 33:15Speaker 5: went through a lot physically mentally. All of that that said,
- 33:18Speaker 5: I think since January he's really checked every box and
- 33:22Speaker 5: he's been around a lot and he's spent a lot
- 33:24Speaker 5: of one on one time with Kevin, which obviously is beneficial.
- 33:27Speaker 5: They've got good infrastructure for the quarterback there with Wes
- 33:29Speaker 5: Phillips and Josh McCown, you know, and I think for
- 33:34Speaker 5: JJ now it's drill after drill he's gotten better. It's
- 33:39Speaker 5: you know, it's day after day he's gotten better, and
- 33:41Speaker 5: it's just making up for all that lost time, which
- 33:44Speaker 5: you know, just it's going to take time to do that.
- 33:47Speaker 4: The second thing is I think what you touched on,
- 33:48Speaker 4: which is how good the situation is. The coaching situation
- 33:52Speaker 4: is really good.
- 33:52Speaker 5: We've seen what it did for Kirk Cousins, We've seen
- 33:54Speaker 5: what it did for Sam Darnold, and on top of that,
- 33:57Speaker 5: I don't think and this is just talking to Kevin
- 34:00Speaker 5: and yesterday They're definitely not going to ask the world
- 34:01Speaker 5: of him. You know, they want him to just be
- 34:04Speaker 5: able to go out there and play quarterback, which is
- 34:06Speaker 5: what they do with Sam. You know, So they're going
- 34:08Speaker 5: to do things in the screen game. They're going to
- 34:10Speaker 5: do things with the run game. They're gonna do things
- 34:12Speaker 5: with play action off the run game. They're gonna do
- 34:13Speaker 5: things with a quick game. Like they're not going to
- 34:16Speaker 5: be asking him to carry the team and be Superman
- 34:19Speaker 5: right out of the gate. And they've got a good
- 34:20Speaker 5: enough team to execute that where the offensive line, bringing
- 34:24Speaker 5: in you know, Will Fries and Ryan Kelly from the
- 34:26Speaker 5: Colts and drafting Donovan Jackson the first round, you get
- 34:28Speaker 5: Christian Darris back from the acl and then you know
- 34:31Speaker 5: the receiver position, what they've gotten Justin Jefferson and Jordan
- 34:34Speaker 5: Addison and then TJ. Hockinson at tight end and Aaron
- 34:37Speaker 5: Jones in the backfield. They signed Jordan Mason from the Niners. Like,
- 34:41Speaker 5: they don't need him to go out there and be
- 34:43Speaker 5: Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen, and so the hope is
- 34:46Speaker 5: that you know, he just gradually grows, you know, like
- 34:49Speaker 5: that they can ask a little bit more of him
- 34:51Speaker 5: gradually as.
- 34:52Speaker 4: He goes on. So I think those would be the
- 34:53Speaker 4: two things.
- 34:53Speaker 5: Is making up for lost time and then just going
- 34:56Speaker 5: out and playing quarterback and not trying to be superman
- 34:58Speaker 5: out there. It's it's certainly worked for the guys they've
- 35:00Speaker 5: had there since Kevin got there three years ago.
- 35:02Speaker 3: I've got three final questions. The first one is the Lions.
- 35:05Speaker 3: They lost both coordinators. Can they hit the ground running
- 35:08Speaker 3: or is it a bit of start over?
- 35:09Speaker 4: I think one thing that's like one thing. I definitely
- 35:11Speaker 4: have my radar.
- 35:12Speaker 5: So I think they've groomed Kelvin Sheppard to take over
- 35:15Speaker 5: for Aaron Glenn.
- 35:16Speaker 4: I'm not saying it's gonna be perfect.
- 35:17Speaker 5: But I think that transition should be fairly clean. On offense,
- 35:23Speaker 5: I just think it's It's interesting because Ben Johnson is
- 35:25Speaker 5: one of these guys where I think the offense was
- 35:27Speaker 5: very specific to Ben, and it's like a little different
- 35:32Speaker 5: than when you come from these big families where all
- 35:34Speaker 5: of these coaches go different places and they've they've all
- 35:36Speaker 5: been successful and everything else. I think, you know, what
- 35:39Speaker 5: you hear about Ben and Detroit was that it was
- 35:41Speaker 5: very much like specific to him, you know, and that
- 35:44Speaker 5: he would go into the lab on Monday night and
- 35:47Speaker 5: come out Wednesday with something that.
- 35:49Speaker 4: Was very much of his own creation.
- 35:51Speaker 5: So I think, you know, Johnny Morton is an experienced guy,
- 35:55Speaker 5: you know, a great pass game guy. You've got Hank
- 35:58Speaker 5: Frailey back who will help on the run game. He's
- 36:00Speaker 5: been their offensive line coach. But how you kind of
- 36:05Speaker 5: replace the uniqueness of what Ben was, I think is
- 36:08Speaker 5: an interesting question.
- 36:08Speaker 4: And how you make up for it. I think it's
- 36:10Speaker 4: with players.
- 36:10Speaker 5: And one thing that's like really apparent when you go
- 36:13Speaker 5: out to their practice, how many guys they have in
- 36:15Speaker 5: like year three, year four that are just hitting their
- 36:19Speaker 5: stride as players year five, like.
- 36:21Speaker 4: Pinay Sewell, Amanta Ross Saint.
- 36:23Speaker 5: Brown, Brian Branch, Aiden Hutchinson, Jamison Williams, Jamira Gibbs. You've
- 36:29Speaker 5: got all of these players in that roster that are
- 36:32Speaker 5: still ascending, you know. So we all looked at it,
- 36:34Speaker 5: Alin McNeil, we all looked at it as this group
- 36:37Speaker 5: that was like, God, this is a really talented team.
- 36:40Speaker 5: And then you look at the age and it's like
- 36:42Speaker 5: maybe that like little bit of that tick up that
- 36:45Speaker 5: you get from where those guys are in their career
- 36:47Speaker 5: can make up for whatever they're going to lose with
- 36:49Speaker 5: the coaching turnover.
- 36:51Speaker 3: Final two questions. Bow Nick's an older quarterback, so is
- 36:55Speaker 3: he closer to a ceiling now than some of these
- 36:56Speaker 3: other guys.
- 36:57Speaker 5: I think it's an easy thing to say, and I
- 36:59Speaker 5: think to some degree that's probably true. You know, Jayden
- 37:03Speaker 5: and Jayden and Bownix played five years. Those guys are
- 37:06Speaker 5: those guys are older. Michael Pennis played six you know,
- 37:09Speaker 5: so those guys are older.
- 37:10Speaker 4: Than Drake May and Caleb Williams and j. J.
- 37:13Speaker 5: McCarthy, who were all only in college for three years.
- 37:18Speaker 5: I think Bo doesn't get enough credit for what he
- 37:21Speaker 5: did last year because if you look at like a
- 37:23Speaker 5: lot of the young quarterbacks when they have, you know,
- 37:25Speaker 5: big years when they're young, you can look at the
- 37:28Speaker 5: talent around them and say, all right, like that team
- 37:30Speaker 5: was able to build something really great around him. And
- 37:32Speaker 5: I'm not saying like the Broncos don't have really good players,
- 37:36Speaker 5: but he's throwing the Courtland Sutton and Marvin.
- 37:39Speaker 4: Mims and and and Devon Valley and Troy Franklin, and
- 37:44Speaker 4: you know, the offensive line is good.
- 37:46Speaker 5: You know you have got Garret Bowles and Mike McGlinchey
- 37:48Speaker 5: and Quinn minors, but are you looking at like a
- 37:51Speaker 5: really special offensive group. So I think his ability to
- 37:54Speaker 5: come in and play at the levely did I don't
- 37:56Speaker 5: think he gets the credit he deserves for it.
- 37:58Speaker 4: So, you know, adding Evan Ingram, bringing in RJ.
- 38:02Speaker 5: Harvey from UCF, like, I think there's an opportunity for
- 38:05Speaker 5: him to get better just by virtue of Sean Payton
- 38:09Speaker 5: has got another year with him and they've gotten a
- 38:12Speaker 5: little bit better from a personnel standpoint on offense. And
- 38:14Speaker 5: the defense should be lights out like That's the other
- 38:17Speaker 5: part is like people don't look enough at that when
- 38:19Speaker 5: it comes to quarterback play.
- 38:22Speaker 4: You know, when you've got.
- 38:23Speaker 5: A great defense that's giving you a good field position,
- 38:26Speaker 5: that's you know, giving you three and out, so the
- 38:29Speaker 5: other defense gets worn out. That can really be something
- 38:33Speaker 5: that helps, you know, a young quarterback. And the Broncos
- 38:35Speaker 5: defense was top of the league last year. They had
- 38:38Speaker 5: Drake green Law, they add Telenoah Hafunga. It's that should
- 38:44Speaker 5: be one of the best groups in the league, which
- 38:45Speaker 5: I think will only help.
- 38:46Speaker 4: Oh.
- 38:47Speaker 3: My final question is about the NFLPA scandal, and look,
- 38:50Speaker 3: I think now we look at that Deshaun watson Dale
- 38:53Speaker 3: and go, holy crap, because that's just a lot of
- 38:55Speaker 3: money to guarantee you. And now you find out afterward
- 38:57Speaker 3: they're like, we shouldn't do this anymore. And then people
- 39:00Speaker 3: are stepping down resigning. Where does this end? Like what
- 39:03Speaker 3: is worst case scenario?
- 39:06Speaker 5: Well, I mean, first of all, like I think for
- 39:07Speaker 5: the players, they have every reason to be pissed.
- 39:10Speaker 4: You know, I always I said this.
- 39:12Speaker 5: I remember being asked about this when Deshaun signed his
- 39:14Speaker 5: deal in twenty two. People ask like, is this going
- 39:18Speaker 5: to be the beginning of fully guaranteed contracts? And my
- 39:21Speaker 5: answer generally was it depends on what happens next. They
- 39:24Speaker 5: said the same thing after Kirk Cousins signed his deal
- 39:26Speaker 5: in Minnesota in eighteen. Is the next deal fully another
- 39:29Speaker 5: fully guaranteed deal or is it a traditional quarterback deal?
- 39:33Speaker 5: And then the deal after that, and then the deal
- 39:35Speaker 5: after that. And so what we found in twenty two
- 39:37Speaker 5: was those deals all became more traditional deals, which allowed
- 39:41Speaker 5: other teams to point at watson as the outlier. The
- 39:44Speaker 5: level of organization that went into that, the communication between
- 39:47Speaker 5: the owners, that behind the scenes meeting at the at
- 39:51Speaker 5: the owners meetings where the management council basically discouraged teams
- 39:55Speaker 5: from doing fully guaranteed contracts, the way the Russell Wilson
- 39:58Speaker 5: negotiation went unication between Dan Spanos and Michael Bidwell.
- 40:02Speaker 4: It all makes the owners look awful.
- 40:04Speaker 5: And this is something that the union should have been
- 40:06Speaker 5: shouting about from the mountaintops, and instead they were helping
- 40:10Speaker 5: cover it up.
- 40:11Speaker 4: So if you're a player, you have.
- 40:12Speaker 5: Every reason to think your union wasn't serving in your
- 40:16Speaker 5: best interest and the best interest of the greater group.
- 40:19Speaker 5: So I think that that's a small piece of what's
- 40:23Speaker 5: a massive, massive mess. And because you have all these
- 40:26Speaker 5: other elements, I mean the crazy Oj Simpson thing that
- 40:29Speaker 5: came out the other day, the Strip Club expenses all
- 40:32Speaker 5: that stuff, you know, the one team partners thing, which
- 40:34Speaker 5: I think could wind up being worse than any of it.
- 40:37Speaker 5: I think there's an opportunity here for the players to
- 40:40Speaker 5: look at it and say, how.
- 40:41Speaker 4: Do we want to reinvent our union?
- 40:43Speaker 5: So I think in a lot of cases, like you
- 40:45Speaker 5: would say, like the worst case is this nuclear option
- 40:48Speaker 5: where the union gets completely blown up, but that might
- 40:51Speaker 5: be what the players need here, right, is that we
- 40:53Speaker 5: need a chance to kind of go in and reevaluate
- 40:57Speaker 5: the way our union works and reevaluate what we one
- 41:00Speaker 5: out of our union. I think this very well could
- 41:04Speaker 5: end with them bringing in an interim director and then
- 41:07Speaker 5: asking those questions. And I think that's probably exactly what
- 41:09Speaker 5: the union.
- 41:10Speaker 4: Needs to do right now.
- 41:11Speaker 3: A follow up statement, I can't believe anyone would use
- 41:14Speaker 3: their the credit card to go to strip club. I mean,
- 41:16Speaker 3: it's it's all there, it's all documented, it's on a receipt.
- 41:18Speaker 3: It's unbelievable. It almost feels like an old Alabama parching situation.
- 41:23Speaker 5: I'm not saying I spent too much time in those places,
- 41:25Speaker 5: but they generally have ATMs in there, right.
- 41:27Speaker 3: But they should list them as different. Now, I don't
- 41:29Speaker 3: want to stand out for the person using the card.
- 41:31Speaker 5: You can get the discreet don't they normally have this
- 41:33Speaker 5: great Yeah, some of them have like it's like great building.
- 41:36Speaker 3: Money option, Like that's what shows up on the credit card,
- 41:38Speaker 3: not cabaret. The other thing is. And again the final
- 41:42Speaker 3: part of that is the nfl PA, like the union,
- 41:46Speaker 3: weren't they doing it as a quid pro quoe meeting.
- 41:49Speaker 3: We'll cover you here, but you got to give us
- 41:50Speaker 3: something on the backside.
- 41:52Speaker 4: So I mean there were a couple of things on that.
- 41:54Speaker 5: There was the first one, which was there were about
- 41:57Speaker 5: twelve million dollars in legal fees at the NFL and
- 42:00Speaker 5: in fighting this case, and since they won the case,
- 42:02Speaker 5: there's the question of whether or not they can go
- 42:04Speaker 5: after that money and try to recover the legal fees
- 42:07Speaker 5: from the union.
- 42:08Speaker 4: So, you know, one thing I.
- 42:10Speaker 5: Heard out there was there could have been a quid
- 42:12Speaker 5: pro quo saying like, all right, like, we won't pursue
- 42:14Speaker 5: the twelve million dollars dollars in legal fees if you
- 42:17Speaker 5: help us keep this quiet.
- 42:19Speaker 4: The other one was, of course the j C. Treader
- 42:22Speaker 4: situation where j. C.
- 42:24Speaker 5: Treader was was found to be responsible for for for
- 42:28Speaker 5: them for making the comments about running back pay, in
- 42:32Speaker 5: which case, like they would be, they would be basically
- 42:36Speaker 5: covering up the j C.
- 42:38Speaker 4: Tretder messed that up. In either case.
- 42:40Speaker 5: It doesn't look good though, Bobby, you know, because in
- 42:42Speaker 5: either case it's like you're putting the well being, You're
- 42:45Speaker 5: you're throwing the well being of two thousand players overboard
- 42:48Speaker 5: for either the financial wellbeing of the union you know,
- 42:52Speaker 5: of the organization, or for the reputation of one person.
- 42:57Speaker 5: And so no matter how how you slice that and
- 43:02Speaker 5: how you want to cut it up.
- 43:03Speaker 4: Like even the.
- 43:04Speaker 5: Private equity think is probably the worst thing, where like
- 43:06Speaker 5: Lloyd Howe was actually in cahoots with the owners, and
- 43:08Speaker 5: I know there were a lot of people based on
- 43:10Speaker 5: Lloyd's approach that felt like he was way too friendly
- 43:13Speaker 5: with the owners to begin with. And so you know,
- 43:15Speaker 5: having that smoking gun was that part of wanting to
- 43:17Speaker 5: help the owners that you're looking to get an ownership.
- 43:20Speaker 4: No matter how you slice this.
- 43:21Speaker 5: Whatever the reason was, I don't think there's a good
- 43:24Speaker 5: reason that the union can.
- 43:26Speaker 4: Give the rank and file player for why they did this.
- 43:29Speaker 3: Albert Breer you can follow him on Twitter at Albert
- 43:31Speaker 3: Breer and also read it JJ McCarthy interview that I
- 43:34Speaker 3: read on MMQB dot com. Also a massive fan when
- 43:36Speaker 3: you go on Dan DP, I love you over there.
- 43:39Speaker 3: I'm a big Dan fan. And so Albert, thank you
- 43:41Speaker 3: for the time and thanks for talking with us about this.
- 43:43Speaker 4: Awesome Thanks Bobby. My wife's a big fan. She wanted
- 43:45Speaker 4: me to make sure I said that.
- 43:46Speaker 3: Tell Rus hello, Albert, thanks man, thank you for the time.
- 43:48Speaker 4: All right, Thanks Bobby.
- 43:49Speaker 3: N Eddie has scoop that Josh Allen lives here. In Nashville.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Now, oh, my insider told me.
- 43:57Speaker 3: Okay, and so what is the news first.
- 44:00Speaker 1: That he lives in Nashville. Now, I guess still plays
- 44:03Speaker 1: for Buffalo but lives here. So in the off season, yeah,
- 44:07Speaker 1: because it wouldn't be possible to live in Nashville while
- 44:10Speaker 1: you're playing in Buffalo.
- 44:10Speaker 3: Quick flights in the morning.
- 44:12Speaker 1: Yeah, but that's pretty cool to have Josh Allen as
- 44:14Speaker 1: our neighbor.
- 44:15Speaker 2: I don't know if that's true as your neighbor, as
- 44:16Speaker 2: your neighbor or.
- 44:17Speaker 1: My neighbors because we live here, you know what I mean.
- 44:21Speaker 3: Do you want to say your sources?
- 44:23Speaker 1: Let me just say, because I don't want to out
- 44:26Speaker 1: my source, but let me just say my source found
- 44:29Speaker 1: out from some other sources. Parents.
- 44:33Speaker 3: That sounds like total bull crap.
- 44:35Speaker 1: It's my son, it's my eleven year old. He was
- 44:37Speaker 1: at a camp. He was at a camp and he
- 44:39Speaker 1: said that his buddies were telling him, yeah, Josh Allen
- 44:42Speaker 1: lives here, according to their dads. Their dads are in
- 44:46Speaker 1: the industry, and they know that Josh lives.
- 44:48Speaker 2: Here in like the NFL industry, something like what industry
- 44:53Speaker 2: eleven football eleven year old industry? What are we talking about.
- 44:57Speaker 1: I really don't know what they're talking about.
- 44:59Speaker 3: I googled what does it say. It says, no, Josh
- 45:01Speaker 3: Allen has not moved to Nashville as of July twenty
- 45:04Speaker 3: twenty five.
- 45:05Speaker 1: Oh July, that's what.
- 45:07Speaker 3: That's what we're unless he just moved here.
- 45:09Speaker 1: Well, I mean it was fresh off the press.
- 45:10Speaker 3: That's all my son's I'm not saying you're wrong because
- 45:13Speaker 3: Aaron Rodgers has a house here. Yeah, I don't know
- 45:15Speaker 3: that he lives here a full time. George Kittle, he
- 45:17Speaker 3: does live here full I mean this is his home.
- 45:19Speaker 3: He's not in San Francisco. Calipari has like a house
- 45:23Speaker 3: here and as a member of a club, you know.
- 45:26Speaker 3: So I think people are here, but I don't see anything.
- 45:29Speaker 1: I think it's probably not a googleble thing, you know,
- 45:32Speaker 1: like it's it's it's still private. Like you still, yeah,
- 45:35Speaker 1: you want to move to Nashville, you want to keep
- 45:37Speaker 1: it maybe so on the down low, but uh, you know,
- 45:40Speaker 1: people in the industry, like I said.
- 45:42Speaker 3: Sounds like you're just start as well.
- 45:44Speaker 2: But it's possible taking a Jared Allen.
- 45:47Speaker 3: Jared Allen does live here.
- 45:49Speaker 1: No way, no way. The kids thought they were talking
- 45:50Speaker 1: about Jared Allen.
- 45:51Speaker 3: I would not think so either.
- 45:52Speaker 2: Yeah, your kids probably don't know who Jared Allen are.
- 45:54Speaker 1: No, but they know exactly who Josh Allen is.
- 45:57Speaker 3: Going to the Hall of Fame this year, though, Jared,
- 45:58Speaker 3: that's right, Yep, that's right.
- 45:59Speaker 4: Yea.
- 46:01Speaker 3: Eddie's given you crap for being a dad influencer.
- 46:03Speaker 2: Yeah, a couple of weeks ago, remember we talked about
- 46:05Speaker 2: that he's giving me a crap. And then he invited
- 46:07Speaker 2: my wife and I and our kids over to barbecue
- 46:09Speaker 2: last weekend and he starts barbecuing and grilling up and
- 46:13Speaker 2: all of a sudden, he's like, hey, Kevin, can you
- 46:15Speaker 2: come take some pictures and video of me barbicue over here? Like, yeah, man,
- 46:20Speaker 2: I got you. So then I take pictures video send
- 46:22Speaker 2: it to him. A couple hours later he posts it
- 46:24Speaker 2: and now he's all about this grill he's and now
- 46:27Speaker 2: he's a grill influence girl flinzer. He even invited me
- 46:30Speaker 2: over just so I could take pictures and grill.
- 46:32Speaker 1: That's not the only reason I invited you over.
- 46:34Speaker 2: It's it's one of them.
- 46:35Speaker 1: Then did I make you feel that way?
- 46:37Speaker 2: I mean, after you just used me for my camera skills?
- 46:40Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 46:40Speaker 1: Look, how how long have I been cooking? Thought? How
- 46:42Speaker 1: long have I been grilling?
- 46:44Speaker 3: Yeah, but you haven't tried to be a grill influencer
- 46:45Speaker 3: until you got that Black Lives And I will say this,
- 46:50Speaker 3: your stuff looks good, and I know I don't to
- 46:52Speaker 3: give a crap about that stuff that's like good. I
- 46:54Speaker 3: find myself liking those pictures. And I don't like anything
- 46:57Speaker 3: on Instagram, not because I dislike things. I just don't
- 46:59Speaker 3: think about liking stuff.
- 47:00Speaker 1: No, I appreciate it.
- 47:01Speaker 3: I doubled have dose.
- 47:02Speaker 1: I appreciate that. But but look, dude, I've been cooking
- 47:04Speaker 1: for ages, right, so it's natural for me if I
- 47:07Speaker 1: want to cook a little more share on my Instagram.
- 47:09Speaker 1: This dude's been a dad for three months and now
- 47:13Speaker 1: he's showing people had it. This is how you hold
- 47:15Speaker 1: a baby.
- 47:16Speaker 3: Get out of here. Is there a threshold of when
- 47:19Speaker 3: you can be an influence?
- 47:21Speaker 1: You got to have knowledge, You got to have knowledge
- 47:23Speaker 1: of what you're doing.
- 47:23Speaker 3: What if you're influencing as you're learning, And that's your
- 47:26Speaker 3: whole style.
- 47:27Speaker 2: Like yeah, like my whole thing is new parents because
- 47:31Speaker 2: I'm a new parent.
- 47:32Speaker 1: Like I saw something pop up, I didn't the two
- 47:35Speaker 1: babies on them. Yeah, honestly, I didn't watch it, but
- 47:39Speaker 1: I don't.
- 47:39Speaker 2: Know if you like them. I didn't like it, you know, okay,
- 47:41Speaker 2: because I didn't purpose.
- 47:42Speaker 1: What was that about?
- 47:43Speaker 2: Purpose?
- 47:44Speaker 3: Yeah, it was like drink machine or something.
- 47:46Speaker 2: Yeah, drink station. Yeah, it's a little drink station, just
- 47:48Speaker 2: something might kind of came up with and saw. And
- 47:50Speaker 2: then little like advice for new parents, and this one
- 47:53Speaker 2: is all about the summary centrals, Like I don't how
- 47:55Speaker 2: to keep your kids cool during the summer.
- 47:57Speaker 3: Right there, I don't know anything. He just said, Yeah,
- 47:59Speaker 3: what are you talking talking about?
- 48:00Speaker 1: Drink station? What do you mean?
- 48:01Speaker 2: So it's in their nursery and I just give this
- 48:04Speaker 2: quick advice on things that you should But what's the.
- 48:07Speaker 3: Drink station mean? Don't I didn't see a drink station.
- 48:10Speaker 2: You didn't see the SCIENTI says, drink station.
- 48:12Speaker 3: But I was looking for like a drink station.
- 48:14Speaker 2: Yeah, like the kids are drinking out of the bottles,
- 48:17Speaker 2: Like there's empty bottles in there for kids, and it's
- 48:20Speaker 2: like the drink station. The first one I was, I
- 48:22Speaker 2: was eating them.
- 48:23Speaker 1: You see what I'm saying.
- 48:23Speaker 3: But I'm not the audience. And also, yeah, I don't
- 48:26Speaker 3: I've never had a baby, so it's like, what am
- 48:28Speaker 3: I doing? I saw it, I was like, I'm missing
- 48:30Speaker 3: at the joke. I just squired it out.
- 48:32Speaker 1: Now, dude, listen, I've been a dad for many, many years.
- 48:34Speaker 1: I have four boys. I'm not getting it.
- 48:36Speaker 3: Are you trying to be an influencer, a dad influencer?
- 48:38Speaker 2: No, I'm just having fun with side money.
- 48:40Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 48:40Speaker 2: I mean yeah, I'm having a little fun with it.
- 48:42Speaker 2: I got a TikTok now.
- 48:43Speaker 3: Guys, Hey, well he sounds like Bill Belichick. I TikTok.
- 48:50Speaker 2: I'd take it once a week.
- 48:53Speaker 3: So what's what's the best case scenario with your dad influencing.
- 48:57Speaker 2: I haven't really thought that far. I just have fun
- 48:59Speaker 2: doing it. My wife wouldn't be the kids to do
- 49:00Speaker 2: it with me, and we just have fun, like collaborating together.
- 49:03Speaker 2: Why don't you look fun making these videos and like
- 49:05Speaker 2: the target audience, like you have these people commenting, especially
- 49:07Speaker 2: the females, because they're like I want them to be like, hey,
- 49:10Speaker 2: look to their dad's new dads, husbands, whoever might be
- 49:14Speaker 2: what we should be doing.
- 49:15Speaker 3: So, have you had a video that's gone like soft viral? No?
- 49:20Speaker 2: I think the first one was like six thousand views.
- 49:23Speaker 2: What do you get normally I don't really post many reels,
- 49:27Speaker 2: maybe like two to three.
- 49:28Speaker 3: Okay, so it was better than your average double.
- 49:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess so. Yeah, it depends on what viral
- 49:34Speaker 2: soft viral, So for me maybe yeah.
- 49:36Speaker 3: Could I give you a tip, Yeah, if you want
- 49:39Speaker 3: to have this be your thing, what the social media
- 49:43Speaker 3: platforms do, because if you go to my TikTok, I
- 49:45Speaker 3: used to TikTok as an example, my TikTok, it's all
- 49:48Speaker 3: country music stuff. It's really I don't do anything except
- 49:50Speaker 3: stuff country music or country music adjacent because they feed that.
- 49:53Speaker 3: Because there's really no such thing as social media anymore,
- 49:55Speaker 3: it's mostly media you want and for you media, So
- 50:01Speaker 3: especially TikTok, Like if I'm all in the following page,
- 50:03Speaker 3: I quickly go over to the for you page because
- 50:06Speaker 3: I wanted to feed me things that I want. And
- 50:08Speaker 3: it used to just be we would follow as social
- 50:11Speaker 3: media was you just see what everybody you're following does.
- 50:13Speaker 3: Now it's even YouTube is basically a for you page
- 50:15Speaker 3: more so than just than who you're following, and so
- 50:18Speaker 3: if you're creating a certain type of content, it feeds
- 50:21Speaker 3: that content to the people that want that kind of content.
- 50:24Speaker 3: If you're doing that, then you put up some Celtic stuff,
- 50:26Speaker 3: and that those people see your Celtics thing, they don't
- 50:28Speaker 3: like it, it'll stop putting that content into their feeds.
- 50:31Speaker 3: So you have to be super consistent with it and
- 50:34Speaker 3: not fully divert from it if you want that type
- 50:39Speaker 3: of content to be focused and given to people who
- 50:41Speaker 3: don't follow you, who want that type of content.
- 50:43Speaker 2: I think for TikTok, that's because the only two videos
- 50:45Speaker 2: I have are the two that I've done on TikTok,
- 50:47Speaker 2: that is, and the second one. I mean it was
- 50:50Speaker 2: like as of yes or a couple of days ago,
- 50:53Speaker 2: it was like eight hundred views compared to the first
- 50:55Speaker 2: one that have been out for a month and only
- 50:57Speaker 2: had like two hundred now had a lot more interaction,
- 50:59Speaker 2: and that TikTok is strictly as of right now just
- 51:03Speaker 2: for those videos. That's the only thing I've put up
- 51:05Speaker 2: on there and the only time I've gone on there.
- 51:08Speaker 3: It's why I have set separate sports accounts now, because
- 51:10Speaker 3: I would find that put sports up on stuff I
- 51:12Speaker 3: put music stuff on it, it would kill both of
- 51:14Speaker 3: them because sports people didn't want see the country music
- 51:16Speaker 3: stuff and the countries and people don't see the sports
- 51:18Speaker 3: stuff and everything's before you page now more so than
- 51:20Speaker 3: it is people you're following. So my TikTok is all
- 51:23Speaker 3: country music stuff, interviews, me talking about it, et cetera.
- 51:26Speaker 3: My Twitter for the most Twitter sucks. Twitter is the worst. Now.
- 51:29Speaker 3: I love Twitter, it is, it's my favorites forever. But
- 51:32Speaker 3: it's it's scumbag. It's like their nudity on it. Now
- 51:35Speaker 3: they're finding these bought farms that people can buy so easily.
- 51:38Speaker 3: It's so easily manipulated you can't trust it. Twitter was
- 51:42Speaker 3: my favorite, It is now the worst. It's the most toxic.
- 51:46Speaker 3: That is.
- 51:47Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 51:47Speaker 3: I just put up anything because like who cares. It's
- 51:49Speaker 3: like paint and building in a bad neighborhood that like Twitter.
- 51:53Speaker 1: Is like you're like having a bad day to day.
- 51:56Speaker 1: That's it, right, I use the right stuff like that
- 51:58Speaker 1: or like.
- 51:59Speaker 3: No, don't you say, like a grandma, I don't want
- 52:01Speaker 3: to see if people are eating every you know, here's
- 52:03Speaker 3: what I'm eating. Well, when I get on Twitter, I
- 52:04Speaker 3: see Twitter's best for news.
- 52:06Speaker 1: Other than you stuff people other people I see it
- 52:09Speaker 1: just they say stuff just like you know, what's the
- 52:13Speaker 1: deal with green blah, like you know.
- 52:15Speaker 3: Why people Seinfeldt tweets and then people starting you know
- 52:18Speaker 3: what I mean. I don't think you're on Twitter enough.
- 52:20Speaker 3: I'm definitely not on minds all news, sports news, it's
- 52:23Speaker 3: mostly news.
- 52:23Speaker 1: Yeah, and good luck with that, thank you. I thought,
- 52:26Speaker 1: so he's you're really trying to do this dad thing.
- 52:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 52:29Speaker 2: First it was just kind of an idea, and then
- 52:31Speaker 2: now I just I legit, have fun with it. It's
- 52:33Speaker 2: just a fun little side thing and if it turns
- 52:34Speaker 2: into something, great.
- 52:35Speaker 3: So what's best case scenario for you in this dad
- 52:38Speaker 3: fluencing world?
- 52:39Speaker 2: Best case is to gain a following, especially following on TikTok.
- 52:48Speaker 2: I don't know more than I have on Instagram. I
- 52:49Speaker 2: guess than ten thousand.
- 52:50Speaker 3: Okay, good, ten thousand. You can monetize it, Okay, so
- 52:53Speaker 3: there we go ten thousand. Now you can do lives
- 52:55Speaker 3: at ten thousand. I think that's what it is.
- 52:57Speaker 1: You can monetize your lives.
- 52:58Speaker 3: You can monetize anything. I think I think ten thousand
- 53:01Speaker 3: is live, right, Mike.
- 53:02Speaker 2: Yeah, and you said up a TikTok shop at ten dolls. Yeah, okay,
- 53:04Speaker 2: well there you go ten thousand then, and then just
- 53:06Speaker 2: kind of see where it goes from there, and if
- 53:07Speaker 2: I can monetize off of it, great, But these kids
- 53:10Speaker 2: are also so young for so long. That's the thing too, Eddie.
- 53:13Speaker 3: What's your goal best case scenario being a grill fluencer oo.
- 53:16Speaker 1: I mean, I really hadn't thought of it until now
- 53:18Speaker 1: that Kevin thinks I invited him over to be a
- 53:20Speaker 1: grill influencer cameraman. But I'm for it, and I didn't
- 53:24Speaker 1: really even think about just kind of focusing in on
- 53:28Speaker 1: my TikTok on what that's going to be about, because
- 53:29Speaker 1: right now it's anything, everything and anything. Yeah.
- 53:32Speaker 3: Maybe, and in social media times that was what you
- 53:34Speaker 3: could do because the people that followed you cared. But
- 53:37Speaker 3: now what you need to do is catch the algorithm,
- 53:39Speaker 3: and the algorithm is feeding your specific type content to
- 53:42Speaker 3: a specific type person and if you're producing anything outside
- 53:46Speaker 3: of that, they don't know that at first, and all
- 53:48Speaker 3: of a sudden they're saying that the people who usually
- 53:49Speaker 3: like your grilling stuff, they don't like whatever you just
- 53:51Speaker 3: put up. But what you just put up is you
- 53:54Speaker 3: singing with your guitar. Yeah, Jimmy Buffett's song exactly. Because
- 53:58Speaker 3: those people that used to like you get the point you.
- 54:00Speaker 1: Know what I'm thinking about doing, and I probably will
- 54:02Speaker 1: start doing this here soon. But I like watching what
- 54:06Speaker 1: people put on TikTok and like there's like, hey, here's
- 54:08Speaker 1: a saracha chicken. I tried that. I want to take
- 54:11Speaker 1: that and then make it myself and see how good
- 54:13Speaker 1: it actually is, because a lot of people put these
- 54:15Speaker 1: things on there, like this is so good in the summer.
- 54:17Speaker 1: But then I'll make it and be like this is
- 54:18Speaker 1: not good at all.
- 54:19Speaker 3: You have to do it and you have to be
- 54:20Speaker 3: consistent with it.
- 54:21Speaker 1: Yeah, but I do it anyway, so why not record it? Right?
- 54:24Speaker 1: Like I do take meals off of TikTok and cook
- 54:27Speaker 1: it for my family anyway, and then we kind of
- 54:28Speaker 1: judge it. Do we like it? Keep doing it? We
- 54:30Speaker 1: don't like it, don't do it anymore. But instead of
- 54:32Speaker 1: just doing it for the family, do it on TikTok, Like.
- 54:35Speaker 3: Are my influencers here? Look at us. It's like my
- 54:37Speaker 3: coaching tree. There you go, Yeah, it's like my coaching
- 54:41Speaker 3: tree all right. Finally, in New York City, pawn shop
- 54:44Speaker 3: owners put a guilty to buying and selling luxury items
- 54:46Speaker 3: stolen by a burglary crew. Cruise victims include Joe Burrow.
- 54:50Speaker 3: There's people who stole from him.
- 54:51Speaker 1: Yes, this was the pawn shop, yeap. So like, as
- 54:55Speaker 1: a pawn shop owner, if you know that these are
- 54:59Speaker 1: stolen goods and now you're in trouble.
- 55:01Speaker 3: Yes, got it, but but no is a general person.
- 55:04Speaker 3: If you know it's stolen as you sell it, well,
- 55:06Speaker 3: I feel like that's that's what a punch chop is,
- 55:07Speaker 3: right like, not stolen, not supposed to be.
- 55:10Speaker 1: But no, that's usually what happens.
- 55:12Speaker 2: Right now, they checking all that.
- 55:14Speaker 1: Not only that.
- 55:14Speaker 3: We used to punch shop a lot as a kid,
- 55:16Speaker 3: because you just pawn anything and they give you a
- 55:18Speaker 3: fraction of the price. And then let's say I wanted
- 55:20Speaker 3: to pawn the Vanderbilt helmet we got from Diego Pavia.
- 55:23Speaker 3: If I want to punchop, I was like, not going
- 55:25Speaker 3: to do that. No, but I want to pawn this.
- 55:26Speaker 3: They gotta be like, I'll give you thirty bucks for it.
- 55:28Speaker 3: Now he doesn't own it, but he takes it, gives
- 55:32Speaker 3: me thirty bucks. He has the helmet. After a certain
- 55:34Speaker 3: amount of time, I have to go back and to
- 55:35Speaker 3: buy it back, I have to pay forty five dollars.
- 55:38Speaker 3: But if I don't buy it back. He then has
- 55:40Speaker 3: it and owns it and then he can sell it,
- 55:42Speaker 3: but he knows he's going to sell it for seventy dollars.
- 55:46Speaker 1: So you take it for quick cash. Yeah, with the
- 55:49Speaker 1: plan of getting your property back.
- 55:51Speaker 3: You need money. Now. It's almost like a loan check
- 55:54Speaker 3: cashing place, Yeah, but with stuff. And the difference is
- 55:58Speaker 3: with a check cashing place, they're giveing you a little
- 56:00Speaker 3: less money to get it early, right, and they'll get them.
- 56:04Speaker 3: You guys, ever been mad and all that?
- 56:06Speaker 2: I've never been, But I have an idea.
- 56:07Speaker 1: I have a family.
- 56:08Speaker 3: It's a version of that where they're going to give
- 56:12Speaker 3: you less than it's worth. You get some cash, you
- 56:14Speaker 3: do get a chance to buy it back, but you
- 56:15Speaker 3: got to buy it back with interest. So they're making
- 56:16Speaker 3: money off of that at the least. And if you
- 56:20Speaker 3: never come back, they know that that's valued it more
- 56:22Speaker 3: than what they gave you for it, so they can
- 56:23Speaker 3: sell it and make a profit then. So they're making
- 56:25Speaker 3: a profit. As soon as you drop something off and
- 56:26Speaker 3: they value and give you they got a profit.
- 56:28Speaker 1: As far as it being stolen, they ask.
- 56:30Speaker 3: You, yeah, well are there stolen things that are sold? Absolutely?
- 56:35Speaker 3: But I don't think and having family members that have
- 56:37Speaker 3: run pawn shops and use pun shops. I don't think
- 56:40Speaker 3: most things are stolen.
- 56:42Speaker 2: I had a friend a long long time ago stole something,
- 56:44Speaker 2: took it a pawn shop in the same city that
- 56:46Speaker 2: he stole something.
- 56:47Speaker 3: Oh yeah, he got arrested.
- 56:48Speaker 1: Yeah, is that because the pawn shop told on him.
- 56:51Speaker 2: Well, they run it like, make sure there's nothing reported
- 56:54Speaker 2: stolen of this, whatever it might be, and if they
- 56:56Speaker 2: see them pop up, then they report it to the
- 56:58Speaker 2: police and then so forth.
- 57:00Speaker 1: Yeah. That Joe Burrow stuff's crazy.
- 57:03Speaker 3: I wonder how they knew the guy knew the paunch
- 57:07Speaker 3: shop guy. I wonder how they knew he knew. Yeah,
- 57:10Speaker 3: all right, cool, all right, that's it. Thank you guys. Hey,
- 57:14Speaker 3: before we go, Edie, want to talk about Cowboys Camp
- 57:17Speaker 3: for a second.
- 57:17Speaker 1: Yeah, just a few updates. I thought it was really interesting.
- 57:20Speaker 1: I love the press when they talked to Jerry Jones
- 57:22Speaker 1: and one of them asked, Jerry Jones, uh, you know,
- 57:25Speaker 1: have you ever thought of stepping down as a general manager?
- 57:27Speaker 1: And he said, yeah, there you go.
- 57:30Speaker 4: Oh, yes, momentary. I love a moment.
- 57:36Speaker 5: Now we're getting that to it small fractions of seconds.
- 57:43Speaker 3: You got a fractions you got us good, Jerry.
- 57:46Speaker 1: And then another thing too is they're showing the quarterbacks
- 57:48Speaker 1: and like that's pretty cool, and they was like, who
- 57:50Speaker 1: is that? You know, Will Greer's in the Cowboys, Like
- 57:54Speaker 1: I had no idea. I know Joe Milton's, you know,
- 57:57Speaker 1: the backup, but Will Greers on the Cowboys. And they
- 57:59Speaker 1: spent h had a little lot of camera time. I'm like,
- 58:01Speaker 1: why are we highlighting Will Grear? Are we is there something?
- 58:04Speaker 1: Are they telling us something?
- 58:06Speaker 3: Why do you hate Will Gear?
- 58:07Speaker 1: No, no hate, It's just like, you know, he's just
- 58:09Speaker 1: you know, he's been in the league for three six,
- 58:12Speaker 1: six years, six years I could be wrong, five or six. Yeah,
- 58:17Speaker 1: it's been a while. And I didn't even know he
- 58:19Speaker 1: was a Cowboy. And they spent some time on Will
- 58:21Speaker 1: Greer at camp, like that's pretty interesting.
- 58:23Speaker 3: I think they probably just highlight the second guy because
- 58:25Speaker 3: they know he's gonna play a whole lot.
- 58:27Speaker 1: No, I think Milton should be the second guy though.
- 58:30Speaker 3: Right, it's a good pointing.
- 58:31Speaker 2: Did you guys see Justin Fields went down?
- 58:33Speaker 3: I did today. I saw across today. They said he
- 58:36Speaker 3: started that like he walked at first Jets camp. I
- 58:40Speaker 3: can read you this from the athletic Justin Fields carted
- 58:43Speaker 3: off a training camp. The New York just quarterback left
- 58:44Speaker 3: the training camp field on a cart Thursday after he
- 58:46Speaker 3: dropped at the ground following an incomplete pass during eleven
- 58:48Speaker 3: on eleven drills. He initially walked off the field to
- 58:51Speaker 3: the medical tent with a heavy limp before being driven
- 58:53Speaker 3: inside the locker room.
- 58:54Speaker 2: Do you have more to toe from what coach? Who's
- 58:58Speaker 2: their new head coach? Quinn not Quinn? Glenn Glynn?
- 59:04Speaker 4: There?
- 59:05Speaker 3: Like, who's the head coach?
- 59:06Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 59:07Speaker 3: Of the Jets?
- 59:07Speaker 1: Got it and it's like a day to day so
- 59:09Speaker 1: what's wrong with the tote of?
- 59:10Speaker 2: Then he just said we'll know more Aaron gn the.
- 59:14Speaker 3: Liken Glenn Powell.
- 59:16Speaker 4: Great.
- 59:16Speaker 3: I started to think, do I not know who the coaches?
- 59:18Speaker 3: Clint Aaron Glenn that defensive coordinator from the Lions. Yes, okay,
- 59:23Speaker 3: thank you guys, that's gonna be it. Appreciate you, appreciate
- 59:26Speaker 3: the Eddie, Thanks for the hot tips on grilling and
- 59:30Speaker 3: the cowboys and who lives in town now that Josh Allen?
