- 0:38Music.
- 1:02She's a happy girl There's no doubt the devil is powerful and is the prince of the power of the air.
- 1:08However, he is not more powerful than God, and he can't take you down if you
- 1:12allow God to fight your battles.
- 1:15Come join us as we continue this journey through the scriptures as Kim Miller
- 1:20of Woman at the Well Ministries continues to open up the Bible and allows it
- 1:24to reveal the truth about the power God has over sin.
- 1:27With God on your side, man can do nothing to you.
- 1:31Sin can't overpower you and you will be victorious.
- 1:36Hello and thank you for joining us in part two of Sin Has No Power Over God
- 1:41and No Power in His Presence.
- 1:44In part one, we painstakingly detailed the three Hebrew children being thrown
- 1:50in the fire and coming out. And I just want to pick up.
- 1:54In verse 24 of Daniel chapter 3, Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astounded
- 2:01and rose up in haste and spake and said unto his counselors,
- 2:04Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?
- 2:08They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.
- 2:12He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the
- 2:16fire, and they have no hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
- 2:20Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace,
- 2:24and spake and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the Most
- 2:29High God, come forth and come hither.
- 2:31Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came forth of the midst of the fire,
- 2:35and the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counselors,
- 2:39being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power,
- 2:45nor was a hair of their head singed.
- 2:47Neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire passed on them.
- 2:53Today, I want you to see what God does when you allow him to cover you in your fire,
- 3:05when you allow him to protect you in your storm.
- 3:11In Isaiah 43.2, he says this, When thou passest through the waters,
- 3:18I will be with thee, and through the rivers they shall not overflow thee.
- 3:22When thou walkest through the fire, thou shall not be burned,
- 3:26neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
- 3:30The three Hebrew children is a particular account of an example of the truth we see in Isaiah 43.2.
- 3:39It's highly unlikely and mostly improbable that any of us will ever be thrown
- 3:45into a fiery furnace because of our faith.
- 3:49But daily we are thrown into symbolic fiery furnaces because of our love for
- 3:54the Lord, because of the God that is in us, because of our deep devotion to
- 3:59who he is, because we don't do and partake of things of the world.
- 4:03And this is what we're talking about when we're trying to determine,
- 4:08as God is revealing himself in the fire, what do we do?
- 4:13How do we respond?
- 4:15I think first we have to understand this faithful saying of Psalms 118.6, The Lord is on my side.
- 4:23I will not fear. What can man do unto me?
- 4:28How can we live a life in the midst of the fire without any fear?
- 4:34I think it comes down to understanding the power of God, to understand what
- 4:40he's already done for you,
- 4:42to understand the magnitude of his grace and his mercy and what it cost him
- 4:48to buy you the freedom of your salvation.
- 4:52Jesus has freed sinners from their sin debt.
- 4:55Thereby he disarmed satan do you
- 4:58understand that so regardless of what your problem is
- 5:01regardless of what your fire is regardless of what your storm is satan has been
- 5:06disarmed because god is victorious we read in first corinthians 15 55 through
- 5:1358 these precious words oh death where is thy sting?
- 5:18O grave, where is thy victory?
- 5:21The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.
- 5:26But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- 5:32Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoved.
- 5:36Music.
- 5:50And smell of smoke because he's disarmed the fire.
- 5:55It's just a place you're walking. If you have tucked yourself under the mighty
- 6:02hand of God, if you've allowed him to cover you with the sweet presence of his feathers,
- 6:08if you've given him complete authority of your life and you just are following
- 6:13in his shadow, if you are drawn up close to him and letting him hold you,
- 6:18if this is what your life is,
- 6:21then you have nothing to fear because it is just one more step.
- 6:26But you've got to believe that the steps in his shadow in the valley are as
- 6:33sweet and protected as the steps on the mountaintop.
- 6:38You've got to believe that his presence in your life in times of trouble is
- 6:43the same as his presence in your life in times of great benefit and blessing.
- 6:49The three Hebrew children understood that because earlier in that account,
- 6:54he says, but my God will deliver me, and if he don't, I'm still not bowing,
- 6:58because they understood,
- 7:01that God was perfect and God was right, and the scripture in 1 Corinthians 15
- 7:06that I just read in your hearing says that death is sin and that the strength of it is the law.
- 7:13But God sent his son, to die on an old rugged cross.
- 7:20And because of his grace, we have the free gift of salvation as Jesus freely,
- 7:26willingly gave his life on the cross of Calvary to cover your sins.
- 7:30And he disempowered and disarmed the devil on that day because he tore through the veil.
- 7:42He gave us free access to himself.
- 7:46And he was victorious over hell, death. in the grave.
- 7:52He stripped him of all of his power then.
- 7:56So if the devil has any power in your life right now, it's because you've opened
- 8:00up the door and given it to him.
- 8:02If he's defeating you, it's because you've thrown up the white flag.
- 8:06But as I'm telling you, Jesus has freed their sinners from their sin debt,
- 8:11and he disarmed Satan when he did.
- 8:14Satan can no longer hold your sin debt against you. It's free.
- 8:22It's gone. It's paid in full.
- 8:26John 3.16 says, For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son,
- 8:32that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
- 8:37Let me tell you something. Just as Satan was powerless in the fiery furnace
- 8:44to the three Hebrew children,
- 8:46even the source of the fire, the sin was eliminated, and they had no smoke,
- 8:52they had no hurt, they had no singed on their hair,
- 8:55their coats looked as if they had never been in the fire,
- 8:58just as that is the case for them, that is the case for us, regardless of our situation,
- 9:04regardless of our circumstance,
- 9:06regardless of how bleak the world thinks it looks, you have victory in Jesus.
- 9:12Because Jesus freed you when he defeated hell, death, and the grave,
- 9:17and when he paid your sin debt.
- 9:21The devil hasn't got anything, really, to entice you with.
- 9:26Because the devil came to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might
- 9:31have life and have it more abundantly, we're told in John 10.10.
- 9:35Let's look at what Colossians 2, 13 through 15 has to tell us.
- 9:39And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh,
- 9:44hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses,
- 9:49blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us,
- 9:53which was contrary to us, and took it out to the way, nailing it to his cross.
- 9:59And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly,
- 10:04triumphing over them. The devil's got nothing on you.
- 10:08He can't pin anything on you.
- 10:11All he can do is trick and lie and cheat and deceit, and you fall and you stumble.
- 10:17Because you've taken your eyes off of Jesus, because you begin to look around, just like Peter.
- 10:24When Peter fixed his eyes on Jesus, he was walking on water.
- 10:29He was walking over the storms.
- 10:32He was walking over the very thing that had caused him fear,
- 10:36that had slowed him down, that was impending death for him. He was walking on it.
- 10:42It was under his feet because he was trusting and watching and following Jesus.
- 10:52Oh, Jesus said, come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I'll give you rest.
- 10:57Jesus' arms are wide open in their nails card, and he's begging you to lay it down.
- 11:04He's begging you to lay down that burden, to lay down that problem,
- 11:10to rest in his shoulders in the fiery furnace.
- 11:14And don't allow the devil to get in your mind. Don't allow him to get in your head.
- 11:20Don't follow him. Don't listen to him. But crawl up.
- 11:26Crawl up on his lap Lay your head on his chest And hear him say He that dwelleth
- 11:34in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty,
- 11:39I will say of the Lord He is my refuge and my fortress My God in him will I trust,
- 11:45Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler And from the noisome pestilence,
- 11:50He shall cover thee with the feathers And under his wings
- 11:53thou shalt trust his truth shall be
- 11:57thy shield and buckler in
- 12:00colossians 2 what we learned was that
- 12:03he has forgiven us of all of our trespasses he blotted out all of the records
- 12:09of our wrongdoing and everything that was contrary to what it meant to be a
- 12:15child of god to walk in his ways he took it and he nailed it to the cross.
- 12:22He totally spoiled any ideas of principalities and powers.
- 12:27He made fun of them openly, and he said, I have defeated them,
- 12:31and he triumphed over them.
- 12:34And I'm telling you, that's Satan and the devil.
- 12:37In Ephesians chapter 6, we are given a beautiful encouragement and recipe for
- 12:44how to walk in this world and not let things get to us.
- 12:48But putting on the whole armor of God. And in verse 12, he says this,
- 12:53for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers,
- 12:58against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
- 13:03That's who we're talking about in Colossians 2, 13 through 15,
- 13:08when he says he spoiled the principalities and powers.
- 13:12He disrupted their ideas.
- 13:14He triumphed over them.
- 13:17And because of that, death has no more sting. The grave has no more victory.
- 13:23And hell can't have us.
- 13:26We have to choose it for it to ever get us.
- 13:30John 10, 28 says that no man shall pluck us out of his hand.
- 13:35Oh, friends, that power that was in that fire, that fourth man,
- 13:42let's read about it in Ephesians 1, 19 through 23.
- 13:45And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe you cannot
- 13:52refute the display of his power in the fiery furnace with the three hebrew children
- 14:00he destroyed the power of the source.
- 14:06The burning wood no longer could produce heat. The burning wood could no longer hurt.
- 14:14It was powerless.
- 14:16The three Hebrew children were safe in the shield and buckler of Jesus and God.
- 14:23Because the exceeding greatness of his power toward us is unimaginable.
- 14:30And we know that the three Hebrew children believed they weren't going to bow no matter what.
- 14:36And for us who believe there's exceeding greatness of power,
- 14:40according to the working of his mighty power, which he brought us through Christ,
- 14:46when he raised him from the dead and set him at his own right hand in heavenly places far above all.
- 14:54Far above all principality and power and might
- 14:56and dominion and every name that is named not only
- 15:00in this world but also in that which is to come and
- 15:03hath put all things under his feet and gave him to be the head of all things
- 15:07to the church which is his body the fullness of him that filleth all in all
- 15:12oh friends he has exceeding great power and that same exceeding great power
- 15:19was on display in the fiery furnace.
- 15:23Jesus loves me, this I know, for the devil can get me. The Bible tells me so.
- 15:31The devil has to go through nail-scarred hands and his blood to touch me.
- 15:39I can step outside of it, and I can invite him in.
- 15:44But if I'm believing, if I'm walking in faith and trusting, the devil can't
- 15:51get me because he triumphed over him.
- 15:55Jesus has freed sinners from their sin debt, thereby disarming Satan.
- 16:01He can't hold anything against us.
- 16:05So in that fire, you can look to the world and you can allow it to consume you.
- 16:13You can allow it to fill your mind to the point that's all you can think about,
- 16:18you can watch it destroy your body raise your blood pressure raise your blood
- 16:25sugar make you lethargic.
- 16:29Disable you. Or you can remember, we've been freed.
- 16:35Satan has nothing. He's disarmed and he's not powered unless we let him.
- 16:41Ephesians 2, 1 through 6 reads like this. And you hath he quickened who were
- 16:47dead in trespasses and sins, wherein time past you walked according to the course of this world,
- 16:53according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit thou now worketh
- 16:57in the children of disobedience. We were once that.
- 17:00But those who truly believe, those who have become new creatures in Christ Jesus,
- 17:05those who've placed their faith in Jesus,
- 17:08among whom also we had conversation in time past in the lust of our flesh,
- 17:13fulfilling the desires of the flesh of the mind, and were by nature the children
- 17:17of wrath, even as others.
- 17:18We all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
- 17:21Those of us, we once were that. but God sent his son to go to hell and come
- 17:28back victorious by the shedding of his blood on the cross of Calvary that wipes away our sins.
- 17:35But God, who is rich in mercy for his great love wherewith he loved us,
- 17:41even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ.
- 17:45By grace ye are saved and hath raised us up together and made us sit in heavenly
- 17:51places. In Christ Jesus, we are victorious in him.
- 17:56Thanks be to God who gives us the victory.
- 18:00Sin has no more dominion over us. We can sit in our fiery furnace, close to the Lord,
- 18:10arms wrapped around him, following his every move and doing his every word.
- 18:16The fire won't get us.
- 18:19Is powerless, because God has already fought that battle, and he won.
- 18:26Friends, sin has no power where God is, and sin has no power in his presence,
- 18:34and sin can't touch you unless you go seeking for it.
- 18:38John 8.36 says this, If the sun therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
- 18:49Did you get that? If the sun therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
- 18:56I can't promise you you won't have a fiery furnace, but I can promise you,
- 19:01if you crawl up with Jesus, it's not going to hurt you.
- 19:05Because he said in Isaiah 43 too, when thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee.
- 19:12And through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee.
- 19:15And when thou walkest through the fire, thou shall not be burned,
- 19:20neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
- 19:26Walk with Jesus and know the peace of a disarmed devil.
- 19:32Remember you are loved. Jesus loves you.
