- 0:02you by BET three sixty five. Whatever the sport, whatever
- 0:04the moment, it's never ordinary. At BET three six 's five,
- 0:07Jeff Boucher from the Inside the Birds Podcast is here
- 0:11five days in on the Eagles, of course, training camp
- 0:15off today, no practice today for the Birds. They'll be
- 0:17back on the field tomorrow getting ready for the Cincinnati Bengals,
- 0:21and we'll take a look at some of the storylines
- 0:23that are emerging from the first five days at practice
- 0:26with Jeff Bocher right now from the Inside the Birds Podcast.
- 0:29Who joins us here on the Sports Past Live on
- 0:33ninety seven three ESPN. Jeff Bocher, Welcome back, man, what's
- 0:36going on?
- 0:37Speaker 2: What's up, Mike? How you doing today?
- 0:39Speaker 3: Always good, Bud, It's always good to catch up with you.
- 0:41Speaker 1: And we've got a bunch of stuff happening here at
- 0:43Eagles practice throughout the first five days. So let's get
- 0:47some recaps and thoughts from you on some of the
- 0:49guys and some of the storylines emerging. Everybody keeps talking
- 0:52about morow Ojomo. Is it fair or unfair to bring
- 0:56him up and think that the Eagles will not maybe
- 1:00miss a beat without Milton Williams in there.
- 1:03Speaker 4: Well, it's fair to talk about him and the fact
- 1:05that he's being asked as the first guy up to
- 1:08replace what Milton Williams brought. Vic Fangio has said, and
- 1:12this is the difference between this year and last year.
- 1:14Last year, when Milton Williams came off the field, it
- 1:17was let's go to Morowadjomo in the four man rush
- 1:22and even in the five man front. But there was
- 1:25really if one of those two got hurt, would there
- 1:27wouldn't have been a whole lot more.
- 1:28Speaker 2: You know, Gabe Hall wasn't ready, Byron Young wasn't ready.
- 1:31Speaker 4: This year with Ty Robinson in the mix, I should
- 1:36say that Thomas Booker did.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Play a smattering of snaps last year.
- 1:38Speaker 4: But this year you've got Booker back, Ty Robinson the
- 1:42draft pick, and then you have a year of Gabe
- 1:44Haul and a year of Byron Young.
- 1:46Speaker 2: With the team, so they're a little deeper there.
- 1:48Speaker 4: And plus you add in the fact that they are
- 1:50giving Jordan Davis some looks in the four man rush
- 1:53here in camp next to whoever, whether it's Jalen Carter
- 1:57or somebody else. So Moro Joe doesn't have to absorb
- 2:02all those snaps, but you know, obviously he wants to.
- 2:05Speaker 2: He wants to be that starter, and he's ready for it.
- 2:07Speaker 4: He's built a little differently than Milton Williams, longer arms,
- 2:11more slender of a body, but he's got, you know,
- 2:14really good hand usage, good motor, good get off so
- 2:17good athleticism, and he'll be the first guy to get
- 2:19that opportunity.
- 2:21Speaker 1: To say, how does Ojomo's game differ from Milton Williams.
- 2:24Milton Williams a guy who was probably more known for
- 2:27his pass rush and skills.
- 2:28Speaker 3: So how are they different?
- 2:30Speaker 1: You know, if you're the Eagles, do you have to
- 2:32use Ojomo differently than you use Milton Williams.
- 2:35Speaker 4: Milton was a little bigger Milton, if you remember, also
- 2:38played some defensive end at Louisiana, and he could line
- 2:42up a d end in a four man front if
- 2:44need be, and he had great athleticism for that size.
- 2:47He was also a third round pick because he tested
- 2:50through the roof athletically. Moro a Joemo is a seventh
- 2:53round pick. He's a little smaller in size, longer arms,
- 2:57I believe. So when if you if you were to
- 3:00stand them next to each other, you would see that
- 3:02they have different body types and his strengths are a
- 3:05little bit different. He has really, like I said, good
- 3:08hands and nice feet. You know he can keep churning.
- 3:12He's learned a lot in his two years. You can
- 3:14tell he's refined as a pass rusher. But that's how
- 3:17they differ. There's built differently and more is not as
- 3:20big of a guy as Williams.
- 3:22Speaker 1: You know, we're looking at that spot and I thought,
- 3:24Vic Fangio, you know who's the truth serum guy, right,
- 3:27he tells you the truth on everything. He did talk
- 3:29about Jordan Davis being twenty five pounds twenty six pounds,
- 3:32I guess lighter, and how that will change possibly for him,
- 3:36And I wonder from you when you look at Jordan
- 3:38Davis losing twenty six pounds, he's still six foot six.
- 3:41That's the problem with him is in terms for me
- 3:43as a pants rusher, to be the low man, that's hard.
- 3:46But Vic Fangio said, like, I want to see that
- 3:48should help him be in better shape as the game
- 3:51goes on. It sounded like he thinks he should be
- 3:53better because he's smaller. But do you see him being
- 3:56a different type of player than the one we've seen
- 4:00the first four seasons.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean we're only a week in. The pads
- 4:04have only been on once.
- 4:05Speaker 4: I haven't I have paid attention to him with his
- 4:07new physique, I will say I think there are times
- 4:09that he still plays high. So you heard Vic say
- 4:12that he's got to play like he's six three or
- 4:15six four and not six six. And that's I think
- 4:17easier and said than done for a guy who's you know,
- 4:21played high for a lot of his life because he
- 4:23is tall, and for most of his life he did
- 4:25weigh a lot more so it's hard to get low,
- 4:27especially when your legs are wearing down.
- 4:31Speaker 2: So yeah, the weight loss should help.
- 4:33Speaker 4: It should allow him to do some pass rushing that
- 4:36maybe weren't as easy when he was bigger. But it
- 4:38is not the be all to end all, and it
- 4:41takes more than just weight loss to really develop the
- 4:45technique and the fundamentals that you need to be a
- 4:48good pass rusher from the inside.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Jeff, Obviously, when we look at the linebacker spot, let's
- 4:56take a look at that. Everybody's you know, excited about Campbell.
- 5:00Is it a Zach Bond? Jehad Campbell. Is that the
- 5:03configuration of linebacker that we will see the most this season.
- 5:07Speaker 4: You know it's gonna be tough, Mike, because the temptation
- 5:11is to say yes, because Campbell is a first round pick,
- 5:14and when you watch him out there, you can see why.
- 5:16Speaker 2: I mean, he's a great.
- 5:17Speaker 4: Athlete, makes plays happen fairly instinctive. But he's but when
- 5:23you watch Jeremiah Trotter junior Mike, you can see that
- 5:27for what he lacks in the athleticism of the other two.
- 5:30When I say two, I mean not only Jihad Campbell,
- 5:34but Smile Montin is a really good athlete too.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Jeremiah Troyner lacks the athleticism.
- 5:40Speaker 4: But he makes up for it with just knowing how
- 5:43to play the position, knowing where to be, and you
- 5:45can you can make a lot of really good plays
- 5:49when you just know the position really well.
- 5:52Speaker 2: And I think t J. Edwards was a really good
- 5:54example of that.
- 5:55Speaker 4: Where he may not have been the greatest athlete, but
- 5:57he made so many important plays for the team because
- 6:00he knew where to be, he knew how to cover,
- 6:02he knew what landmarks he needed to get to to
- 6:06clog a passing lane, or how to get around an
- 6:08offensive lineman to get through the lane. You know, Nikobe
- 6:11Dean's the same way. Nikobe Dean is not the biggest
- 6:14guy in the world. Good athlete, but not the biggest.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Guy in the world.
- 6:17Speaker 4: But he just last year learned how to play downhill
- 6:21the right way, how to cover the right way. So
- 6:23I can't dismiss Trotter Junior being some you know, being
- 6:29able to either beat out to hot Campbell. Or maybe
- 6:32it's a thing where one guy's playing on first and
- 6:35second down the other guy's playing in the nickel.
- 6:37Speaker 2: I don't know, but I will say I think the temptation.
- 6:40Speaker 4: Is to go say, hey, Campbell's on the field way
- 6:42earlier and he's making all this progress.
- 6:44Speaker 2: That's great, but Trotter's going to make it tough.
- 6:48Speaker 1: On the latest episode of Inside the Burge, you guys
- 6:50can check that out on all podcasting platforms. The latest
- 6:53intel on these camp competitions, I guess one of the
- 6:56bigger unknowns to see where you guys handicap us right
- 6:59now and which way do you see it going off?
- 7:01The first week at Dori Jackson, Kaylee Ringo and do
- 7:04you throw Mac McWilliams in there at all.
- 7:07Speaker 2: It was interesting because.
- 7:10Speaker 4: You know, Dorry Jackson got like three or four days
- 7:12in a row of taking the first team reps, and
- 7:14you were starting to wonder if this were like was
- 7:16like last year.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Where he where Rogers.
- 7:18Speaker 4: Isaiah Rodgers clearly pulled away from Ringo after about a
- 7:22week of competition and then started to take the reins there.
- 7:25But then Vic Fangio said something interesting about how the
- 7:28first few days of camp a Dori Jackson. He said,
- 7:31it's almost like he wasn't there because nobody was throwing
- 7:34the ball. He said, you can still make good plays
- 7:36even when the ball doesn't come your way, but you're
- 7:38obviously trying to be evaluated when the ball does come
- 7:41your way. So I do wonder if part of seeing
- 7:44a Doorri Jackson run with the first team for three
- 7:47or four days in a row was because Vic wanted
- 7:48to just see how he held up to it. And
- 7:51then you know, he didn't have as good of a
- 7:52day when the pads came out, got called for a penalty.
- 7:57Speaker 2: I don't have a lot longer to go. I imagine Ringo will.
- 7:59Speaker 4: Start to get some also, some some first team reps
- 8:02again as this becomes a competition, But Vic certainly likes
- 8:05what he's seen from mac McWilliams.
- 8:07Speaker 5: If I were to, if I were to guess educatedly here,
- 8:11I would say what he's looking for with mac McWilliams
- 8:15is to see if he could really be a good
- 8:17slot corner, so that they can play Cooper de Gene
- 8:21at either safety or outside corner if they wanted to
- 8:24in certain formations.
- 8:27Speaker 4: But we'll see as camp goes on. Certainly mcmmcckwilliams has
- 8:30caught Vic fan Joe's eye.
- 8:31Speaker 3: Yeah, there's no I agree with you there.
- 8:33Speaker 1: And the follow up when you brought it up, I
- 8:35want to follow up with is are they intrigued to
- 8:38see Cooper de gene play outside corner?
- 8:41Speaker 3: Is that something that you think is plausible?
- 8:44Speaker 2: Plausible?
- 8:45Speaker 4: I mean, right now, it looks more like they're intrigued
- 8:47to see what he can do as.
- 8:48Speaker 2: A safety in base. In the OTAs we saw him
- 8:53playing outside corner.
- 8:54Speaker 4: I imagine we'll see him doing that again in practice in
- 8:58the in the preseason games. I think there's just you know,
- 9:02what I know is that they've got a lot of
- 9:04optionality and they're looking to see where the best combinations are.
- 9:08And part of that means giving young players a chance
- 9:11to prove themselves among also giving proven players a chance
- 9:16to prove themselves at other positions.
- 9:18Speaker 1: All right, so a young player is trying to prove
- 9:20it to young players at safety. Where are we in
- 9:23your mind at the safety position.
- 9:26Speaker 4: Well, hopefully for Andrew mccooba, he gets back from this
- 9:30injury that he had.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Uh was an injury.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Yeah, he ran into I think was it him that
- 9:35ran into too Gray and they both got hurt. I
- 9:37think I got got himself released. Yeah, yeah, that's too
- 9:41bad for Danny gray Man. It can't stay healthy. But yeah,
- 9:44I think mccooba's got to be able to get on
- 9:46the field. You know, Sydney Brown's now taking a lot
- 9:48of reps, Tristan mccollms getting some reps in there too.
- 9:50I mean, it truly is a may the best man
- 9:53win type of competition. Although mccooba is going to be
- 9:56the leader in the clubhouse by being a second round pick.
- 9:59Speaker 2: But if this is a situation like Tyler Steam last year.
- 10:02Speaker 4: Where mccoop are gonna be out for two or three weeks,
- 10:05it's gonna be harder for him to For Jack Gap,
- 10:07you know, Cooper to Gen was able to do it
- 10:09because it was there was nobody else that could play
- 10:11the nickel.
- 10:12Speaker 2: As well as he did. He could when he got
- 10:14back with mccooba.
- 10:16Speaker 4: There are guys who can play safety here, including Cooper
- 10:19to gen right, So he needs to get on the
- 10:22field and show it.
- 10:23Speaker 1: I know by the way that that safety spot will
- 10:26probably you know, one of the things I wanted to
- 10:28ask you about today. We were talking about this this morning,
- 10:31which is generally the last Siriani during the Sirianni area,
- 10:36the Eagles starters have not appeared in games on the.
- 10:40Speaker 3: Defensive side of the ball. Is that gonna have to
- 10:43change this? Yere? Are they gonna have to play in
- 10:45these games?
- 10:46Speaker 4: Well, I mean I think guys who have who are
- 10:48who might be starters in the week one but have
- 10:51not won it yet. Sure, we'll We'll probably have to play.
- 10:55You know, Adorri Jackson is probably gonna have to play, KEITHA.
- 10:58Ringo is gonna probably have to play, Macouba is probably
- 11:01going to play. Sidney Brown is going to have to play.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Trotter Junior. I imagine we'll probably play.
- 11:08Speaker 4: So yeah, I do think on defense now A Jomo
- 11:11probably not right?
- 11:12Speaker 1: Well, what about Campbell. I mean, he's a first round pick.
- 11:15Did they want to see him normally? You know, we
- 11:18I don't remember Quinnon Mitchell playing. Did he play in
- 11:21a preseason game last year?
- 11:23Speaker 2: You know, that's a great question. I don't remember. I
- 11:24have to go back and look. I think he did.
- 11:26I think he did play in the preseason last year.
- 11:30Speaker 4: So, yeah, some of these guys will have to get
- 11:32out there and get that experience.
- 11:35Speaker 3: On the other side, we'll we'll flip over to offense.
- 11:37Same thing. You know.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Do you see Tyler Steen having to play preseason games? Uh,
- 11:41to win that job or is that job over?
- 11:44Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 11:44Speaker 4: I don't think he If they're not going to play
- 11:47the first team line, I don't think that they're going
- 11:48to play Tyler Steed.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Right, so he does any guys.
- 11:51Speaker 1: He doesn't have to win the job by performing in
- 11:54a game.
- 11:54Speaker 2: In other words, right, I mean he's performed in games.
- 11:57Speaker 4: They've evaluated in games and just waiting for him to
- 12:00see as a starter year in camp. Are they seeing progress,
- 12:03which Jeff Stealton said, I believe yesterday that he is.
- 12:07And you gotta remember they have a ton of guys, yeah,
- 12:10that they've got to evaluate here between Miles Hinton and
- 12:14Drew Kendall and Darien Kinnard and Matt Pryor and uh,
- 12:17you know, the list goes on to Kenyan Green that
- 12:20they're gonna they're gonna have plenty of snaps that they
- 12:22need to get.
- 12:23Speaker 2: They need to get evaluation from those guys.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Well, it's funny you bring this up because this is
- 12:26another thing that we were discussing you this morning, which
- 12:29was these guys that got drafted last year Keegan and
- 12:34there was another guy that got drafted on the offensive, that.
- 12:40Speaker 3: There's gonna be a lot of competition in.
- 12:42Speaker 2: The Yeah, I lost you a little bit.
- 12:46Speaker 4: The guy they drafted last year along with Keegan was
- 12:49Dylan McMahon, but then they wound up losing him.
- 12:51Speaker 2: To the Rams.
- 12:53Speaker 4: And yes, they've got to not only do they need
- 12:56to play guys right, Mike, but they got to play
- 12:58him sort of in different spots. And see, you know,
- 13:00they need to find a backup center. This Brett toe
- 13:02thing has got to stop. You can't snap the ball
- 13:04and shotgun. It's been like that for three years. No
- 13:07knock against the guy. I mean, honestly, he's been in camp.
- 13:09I mean he's competing. You're in you're out, and good
- 13:12for him, but he's just not a center. So you've
- 13:14got to find whether Keegan can be that guy, whether
- 13:17it's Kendall, whether they need to go and find one
- 13:21on the open you know, the scrap heat free agent market.
- 13:24And then they got to figure out, you know, important
- 13:26roles for those rookies I mentioned and the Canards of
- 13:29the world and their swing tackle is that Prior Or?
- 13:33Is Prior just gonna be a right guard?
- 13:34Speaker 2: Right tackle? Who would be the back of left tackle?
- 13:37Speaker 1: All of that well, and and you know, uh this,
- 13:41we might have talked about this a little bit, but
- 13:43if Landon, if the center got hurt and Landon Dickerson
- 13:46moved over. Last year, they put Steen it left guard.
- 13:48Obviously they can't do that this year. Matt Pryor would
- 13:51probably be that guy. But correct me if I'm wrong, Jeff,
- 13:56he started.
- 13:56Speaker 4: I think Megan would actually be that guy because Prior,
- 13:59I I don't believe they view as a left guard.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Well, that makes me wrong.
- 14:03Speaker 4: I know he played left tackle one year for the Bears,
- 14:06but he's mostly been a right side guy.
- 14:07Speaker 1: But again, okay, so correct me if I'm wrong here.
- 14:11Last season it was Steen that was the starting right guard.
- 14:16Becton got a shot because Steen got hurt and then
- 14:19never gave the spot up right, So that situation wouldn't
- 14:25have materialize. Had possibly Steen not got hurt, we might
- 14:29not have seen Bechten win that job.
- 14:32Speaker 2: It's possible.
- 14:33Speaker 4: I mean, it's also possible that two weeks into camp
- 14:36they would have said I want to see a little
- 14:39more considered, or we've seen before where guys get promoted,
- 14:42you know, after especially after that first preseason game, they
- 14:45have a day off and then the next day is
- 14:47a day that's sort of known for.
- 14:49Speaker 2: When you start to see some movement up and down.
- 14:52The U is p G laughing at me. What's going on?
- 14:55I see him pointing at me at laughing. Michael'll show
- 14:59me tweet. Oh okay, look at you're appointing at me
- 15:03on that disclosure. It's about John Krock being annoyed that
- 15:06the Phillies reigned a lay which shot. Trucker's annoyed by something.
- 15:11Speaker 4: Yes, but yeah, you'll you'll see movement a lot after
- 15:13that first preseason game MIC when you guys start to
- 15:16go up and down and the coaches see have a full.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Game to evaluate.
- 15:19Speaker 4: So possibly that could have happened last year, but but
- 15:23you're right that the ankle injury paved the way from
- 15:27Makai bect and kind of Wally Pip Tyler Steen in
- 15:30that moment.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Jeff Boucher from the Inside the Birds podcast, which you
- 15:33can get on all podcasting platforms here on the Football
- 15:37at four Wednesday edition. Here last look on the offensive
- 15:41side of the ball. Yesterday Adam was on. He talked
- 15:43about AJ Dillon and Will Shipley behind Saquon Barkley. Do
- 15:47you think the running backs behind Barkley have a bigger
- 15:50role this year?
- 15:52Speaker 2: I think that sort of.
- 15:54Speaker 4: I think that Eagles want them to, yes, but that
- 15:58will be dependent on how effective they are in their roles,
- 16:03you know.
- 16:03Speaker 2: I mean, it would be great for AJ Dillon to
- 16:05make this team, and he's not going to be the Kenny.
- 16:08Speaker 4: Gamewell because he doesn't catch the ball the same way
- 16:10and he's not the same kind of running back. But
- 16:14you know, if the Eagles are up twenty four to
- 16:16fourteen in the fourth quarter, it was seven and a
- 16:18half to go, you'd love to be able to give
- 16:20the ball to AJ Dillon as a bulldozer and close
- 16:22out the game and give Saquon a little bit of
- 16:25a rest.
- 16:25Speaker 2: And at the.
- 16:26Speaker 4: Same time, if you want to be in your two
- 16:30minute drill and your four minutes drill, and you've just,
- 16:32you know, already given fifteen touches to Saquon in the
- 16:35first half, you'd like to get Shipley involved there and
- 16:37catch the ball a little bit more, throw some screens.
- 16:40Speaker 2: You know, you're trying to open up your playbook. Shipley's
- 16:42the type of guy that can help you do that.
- 16:45Speaker 3: I will go on out on a limb and say this.
- 16:47Speaker 1: I was very, very disappointed the way they used uh
- 16:50Rashot Penny a couple of years ago. I will go
- 16:52out and a limt will say that AJ Dillon will have.
- 16:54Speaker 3: A bigger role.
- 16:55Speaker 1: I was way off on Penny. Now, I don't know
- 16:57if I was off. They never gave him a shot,
- 16:59but I guess there's I was off by not giving
- 17:01him the shot. But yeah, I think Dylan will have
- 17:04a bigger role than Rashad Penny did. Who I was
- 17:07very excited when they got Penny. I said, oh man,
- 17:09this guy's been a beast. Uh they never gave him
- 17:12the ball ever, And I think Dylan will have a
- 17:15bigger role there. So we'll watch that all materialize an unfold.
- 17:19It all starts on Thursday night next week. You could
- 17:21listen to the Eagles and the Bengals right here on
- 17:24ninety seven three ESPN and Football at four each and
- 17:26every day. I know Frank wants to ask you a
- 17:29Phillies question.
- 17:30Speaker 6: Hey, Jeff, your boy Ramon Loriano. Is this the year
- 17:32the Phillies finally get him?
- 17:35Speaker 2: No, I wish I love Ramond Mariano.
- 17:38Speaker 4: He's not the player that he used to be when
- 17:39he was with Who's in Oakland? Yeah, no, I tell
- 17:43you I did staying with Oakland. My dream scenario was
- 17:48that the A's would trade both Rooker and Miller to
- 17:51the Phillies, and I would honestly give up any any
- 17:54prospect package, even Andrew Painter to get those two.
- 17:57Speaker 2: But I don't know that's gonna happen.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Well, there's a late report here that the Phillies are
- 18:01calling the A's back to see if Miller could be had.
- 18:05I don't know that Rooker. I don't think they want
- 18:07to move Rooker, but possibly Miller. Who knows man.
- 18:11Speaker 4: Pretty gutsy of them to Pitcher Painter today, by the way,
- 18:14and play Crawford.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Well, I would think that that.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Is a pretty good indication that Painter is not getting traded.
- 18:21Speaker 2: That was I thought that as well.
- 18:23Speaker 4: I mean, weirdly, Griffin jacks Picked pitched for the Twins today,
- 18:27so I know, it's kind of weird the messages teams
- 18:29are sending there.
- 18:30Speaker 2: They're taking some risks here. But yeah, I thought Painter
- 18:33is starting.
- 18:33Speaker 4: Today, especially with him coming back from the surgery, meant
- 18:36that he is very very very unlikely to get traded.
- 18:38Speaker 3: Yeah. I would agree with that, by the way.
- 18:40Speaker 4: Which also then makes me think that the Phillies are
- 18:42very very very unlikely to really land a home run
- 18:45kind of player in this trade deadline.
- 18:47Speaker 1: The Mets have acquired right handed pitcher Tyler Rogers from
- 18:52the Giants. His brother, Taylor Rogers, was traded earlier this week,
- 18:56so the Mets have now added another bullpen arm in
- 18:59the addition to Gregory Soto.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I listen, give me Duran. I'll be pretty happy
- 19:05with that. From the TWI no no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 19:08Well that's what they want. Well, of course they want that,
- 19:12by the way.
- 19:13Speaker 6: A lot of plastering I think going on because Ken
- 19:15Rosenthal the same report that connects the Phillies to Miller.
- 19:19He also says the Dodgers are not in on a big,
- 19:22high end reliever like Duran, so we'll see. I think
- 19:26that I think teams are playing the media against stay tuned, right.
- 19:29Speaker 2: Does that I've never been that before?
- 19:33Speaker 1: No? Seriously, though, has that like if you've ever been
- 19:35in that situation where people feed you stuff to try
- 19:37to get it out there that has no barry.
- 19:40Speaker 4: Yes, And I've generally was pretty good at it because
- 19:43I have a pretty good BS meter.
- 19:45Speaker 2: I did one.
- 19:46Speaker 4: Time, very early in my career, not report something but
- 19:50insinuate something that in my mind didn't make sense and
- 19:53I shouldn't have, and you know, I realized, So don't.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Call you know, hey, Jeff, you know we are making
- 19:58calls to try to get said wider receiver in hopes
- 20:01that you put that out there with no intention of
- 20:03getting said wide receiver, so that other teams around the
- 20:05league are like, oh, the Eagles are interested in a
- 20:07wide receiver.
- 20:08Speaker 2: It's all usually another way around.
- 20:09Speaker 4: I try to talk to the other teams, not the
- 20:12team that I cover, to see who's calling them, also
- 20:16knowing that there's a BS meter involved with them too.
- 20:20So so it works both ways. But usually the team
- 20:23that you cover is really not trying to advertise to
- 20:25the local guys who they're going after. But you can
- 20:28get good info from other teams who hear about. Like
- 20:32if you know your a team is going to make
- 20:33a trade but not with your team, but you know
- 20:35that they're exploring the market, that team is pretty good
- 20:38at knowing who's asking for what. I've gotten a lot
- 20:40of accurate, actually accurate information from teams that were sort
- 20:45of only involved because they knew the landscape.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Well, there, you got a little insight on a trade
- 20:51deadline situation from Jeff Boscher from the Inside of the
- 20:54Birds podcast and Phillyboys dot Com as he joined us
- 20:57here on the Sports Batch for today's football for It.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Thanks Jeff, you got it, guys.
