- 0:05[SPEAKER_02]: All right, welcome in.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome in.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_02]: It is Monday morning.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_02]: Happy Labor Day.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_02]: Hope everyone's been having a good weekend.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_02]: Hope a lot of you have today off.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure what our numbers will be today because I'm hoping some of you are getting some sleep, but not us.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_02]: There is no sleep for the wicked.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_02]: It's Eric and I this morning for
- 0:21[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos for breakfast.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_02]: Again, I'm Nick Kendall.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_02]: I'm joined with Eric Trickle.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_02]: Eric, I hope you're doing well.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_02]: Pretty soon here.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_02]: My background is going to be pretty sad because I'm at the pack up everything behind me here.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_02]: As I had the move coming up here in about three weeks, but getting out there and joining, I climbed a pinnacle peak south of Reneer on Saturday, which was some class four action.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of a
- 0:45[SPEAKER_02]: Lattering my way down with for my fingertips and my toe tips, but you know, we made it.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_02]: Some pictures of my mother didn't enjoy, but we're getting out there.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_02]: We're enjoying it.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_02]: And I got, I think I'm going to go do a small hike with my parents today.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_02]: So they're in town.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_02]: We're packing up the house and enjoying these last days in the Pacific Northwest.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I just got to say though, your background's already a little sad with the Iowa stuff back there.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I walked right into that man.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_02]: God, yeah, quarterback is so ass.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if I say that on here, gosh, man, I'm, I like at the point where it's kind of where I was at getting with the Broncos quarterback's two is like every year, people are getting hyped up.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, why are we getting hyped up at this point?
- 1:24[SPEAKER_02]: They stink every time.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_02]: Like, let's,
- 1:27[SPEAKER_02]: prove me wrong.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_02]: I think just going in baseline, you're not going to be good enough.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_02]: It's probably the reality.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_02]: Luckily for Broncos country doesn't seem that way for Bonax.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_02]: See, it is good enough.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_02]: Now the question is the extent of what good enough means, but we have time to figure that out.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_02]: We've had that conversation many times on here.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_02]: No reason to rush it.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_02]: We got three years at cost control left.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_02]: He's good enough for the rookie contract.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_02]: And that's good enough for me for now.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're in that stage of, I mean, as you said, we talked about it a lot, we're at that stage of just wait and see now.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: What's it going to do?
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: What's it going to do this year?
- 1:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's, I mean, we're still going to keep talking about it, of course, but all we can do is wait and see.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_01]: But when is it that you do move?
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: Because it's coming.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's few days is what you said, and just a few minutes ago.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_02]: It's about two and a half weeks, the moving truck comes.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_02]: We're doing like a some really convoluted back and forth, because I have extra PTO, so I'm actually going to drive back.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_02]: All right, now I'm going to stay in Seattle, fly with a little kid when my Natalie and my wife is going to go with the pets, then mid October, early October, I'm going to fly back to Seattle, have my last official day of work, and then drive our other car from Seattle to Denver.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_02]: So it's kind of a little bit of ping-ponging here, but the math works out.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_02]: in the end.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll see what that looks like with the show and everything with all the the moving and whatnot, but yeah time is a
- 2:48[SPEAKER_02]: Time's coming to end up here in Seattle, which is sad, but I will be very excited to see all that Denver has to offer.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_02]: So hopefully, let's say you'll load everybody in the chat.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate everybody, happy Labor Day.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_02]: David Young can come in and David's always one of our people in here, but he's not yet a member of the MHH team.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_02]: So David, we got to get you in here.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_02]: This is Broncos when the West, Bull Productions, Broncos when the West, Bow MVP, RJ when's working at the ERP, S-II, and Stephens play at the end of the play of game against the top team.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_02]: Now, that's a bull prediction.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_02]: David, why did you stop it winning a, if Denver has bonus to the MVP, RJ wins Ricky the year, PS two defense a play of the year, they win the division, and they only win a single playoff game.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_02]: That's gonna feel like a let down at that they're Super Bowl favorites at that point.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, if all of that happens, so we're like going full steam and then it's like off the cliff on that one, it feels like a groundhog day.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_02]: So you might as well just said Super Bowl champion there.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_02]: They beat the Eagles
- 3:44[SPEAKER_02]: sixty nine to zero, you know, let's just let's just lean into it.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, but I love it.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_02]: I'm I, uh, I don't think I might have any of these is my bull, bull predictions, uh, but we'll see what's there.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_02]: But this is, that's quite a list, but man, you just read the end.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_02]: It was right there for you.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_02]: It was right there.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_02]: It was on the T Super Bowl.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: And that actually leads me to a question that I asked Carl last Tuesday when I was filling in for you.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_01]: What is, what would you consider a more successful season for the broadcast this year?
- 4:10[SPEAKER_01]: Winning the division, but not winning a playoff game or making the wildcard or winning a playoff game.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_01]: Because traditionally, obviously, the farther you go on the playoffs, the more successful.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: But with what the chiefs have been able to do in the division for the last few years, upsetting them's kind of got to be like a small victory in of itself.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, this is going to be a kind of a
- 4:30[SPEAKER_02]: very specific answer.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_02]: But I think looking back on it, winning the division is better because it's a bigger sample size and you topple the chiefs.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_02]: But in the moment, it's going to hurt worse to win the division and then lose your first playoff game at home.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_02]: That's going to be a kick to the groin.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_02]: But you're not hanging a banner for winning a wildcard game against, I don't know.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_02]: Let's just call it the build.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yes, somebody like on the road like whatever like that's that's a good in the moment.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_02]: But we get a hang something we have hardware whatever for winning the division and that means something for the F.C.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_02]: West so.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_02]: Immediately it's going to hurt worse, no doubt, but I think that there's more value and it's more impressive to win the division.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_02]: That's a better statement for the health of the organization, the quality of the team than one playoff game where a lot of randomness can happen.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_02]: That goes with the Broncos losing a playoff game as well.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_02]: So I think the answer is the division, but that's also the more painful answer, unfortunately.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_01]: That's that's where I'm that's where Carl and I were at to be not only that it sends a better message winning the division and I'm unseating the genius that you really did run goes really are in the like the you know the top teams in the AFC right now we kind of believe it were maybe they are maybe there will be in winning.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_01]: winning a playoff game against the Houston Texans because that's who I'd expect it to be right where I'm at is I would think that the Texans win their division, but they're the fourth seed and then the Broncos are the top wild card team.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: So four foot gets five.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: That doesn't send as much of a message as it would unsaid in the chiefs.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously it will hurt more on one of the divisions losing the playoffs, but
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's better for the long term outlook of this team, I think, and that's kind of where Carl and I were at too.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_01]: But I just wanted to get your thoughts on it.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: I meant to ask you last Wednesday until these pasted.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no, that's a good question.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_02]: We got some, make sure you guys are clicking the thumbs up as you join us.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_02]: I know our thumbs up and eyeballs on the, our Facebook side of things are going to be smaller because we've been really pushing that YouTube.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_02]: But if you're joining us over there, make sure you drop the thumbs up.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_02]: We got Denver Luke joining as well.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_02]: So it's a good morning boys.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_02]: Denver Luke, another one of our constant members, but not yet a member member.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_02]: Denver Luke, let's show us your member, man.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_02]: Come on, let's do it.

- 6:55[SPEAKER_02]: Unfortunately, I'm in the hospital.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_02]: Jesus, David.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_02]: Hope you're doing better.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_02]: Night's day now.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_02]: I know what that's like.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_02]: That's no fun.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_02]: Hopefully you have a room with a window.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_02]: And hopefully things are getting better.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_02]: It's not doing too well.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_02]: Just want to stay with the Titans.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_02]: QB is in for a long day.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, yes.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_02]: Can more it is in for a long day.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm really sorry to hear that, David.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_02]: I hope you

- 7:31[SPEAKER_02]: Gene, good to see you.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_02]: Jenny Splash, hope you're doing well.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_02]: David can't figure out how to sign up.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I have to let Chad know of that one.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_02]: David says, Seattle Denver, you'll be exhausted.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_02]: Traded off rain for snow.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_02]: I've heard in Denver doesn't snow like that much and when it does snow, it melts right away, but we'll see, I'm honestly a little bit nervous for how sunny it's gonna be.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_02]: But I will miss the clouds.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_02]: Clayton, good to see you.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_02]: Hope we do well.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_02]: He says also smash that like button.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_02]: We got Ryan Allen says good morning from Connecticut.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_02]: Love that.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_02]: Another one of our longtime members.

- 8:07[SPEAKER_02]: Guys, it's not hard.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_02]: I guess it might be hard.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what's going on David.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_02]: But become a member of the MHA's YouTube team today.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_02]: We appreciate that.

- 10:08[SPEAKER_02]: I'm Broncos from breakfast.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_02]: Gobo Broncos.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, happy, happy labor day to you.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_02]: See David talking about his fever isn't stuff.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_02]: That sounds a lot like what my wife had going on.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_02]: I doubt you had the same thing, but the shit couldn't get those fevers down and she's in the hospital for like two weeks and sick for a month.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm sure you're in good care.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_02]: And kind of stay positive.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_02]: Easy for me to say, but like that's really doesn't matter.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_02]: Clayton here on a super jack for the season, our Whiteout's a great talent running tone of power and speed.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_02]: Pet end all around tight end around talent and our whole defense.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_02]: Clayton were excited to great to see you.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_02]: mile high, Kyle, morning Broncos country, hope you're doing well.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate you.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_02]: I got a guy, David Camillo, come in and says, what do you say the odds are percentage wise that extension gets done for Benito before Sunday?
- 10:59[SPEAKER_02]: I have nothing.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_02]: So this is just me pulling it out of, you know, where the sun doesn't shine.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_02]: But all go, ten percent it happening, ninety percent it not happens.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_02]: I think the Parsons contract maybe probably sends things a little bit back to the drawing board.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_02]: And we were going to probably wait until midseason end of the season.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_02]: They do have the franchise tag still on their back pocket and other factors that could play out that could impact the contract as well.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't think it's going to happen.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_02]: What I say, fifteen, eighty-five.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I'll put it at.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_02]: Ten, ninety.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_02]: That's about where it's at.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to take the cup out.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to go fifty-fifty because either it happens or it doesn't happen.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a big, I'm not a big odds person.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: Really, and that's kind of what it always is.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_01]: Either happens or it doesn't.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: I could see it happening either way, really, but with the Parsons contract done, I can see Nick's camp having a better idea of what they're looking for.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_01]: Go to Denver and Denver just saying, all right, let's focus on the season where we're a little bit negotiating back and forth to, you know, maybe over guaranteed money or whatever the case, the structure of it and then getting done.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: But I can also see Denver's camps in year looking at thirty plus million now.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we're not, we're not there yet.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see what you do this season.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see how you start this season and then reevaluate later on.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: Also, as you said, having that franchise tag, the franchise not tag number for edge rushers now is going to be like, thirty five million give or take because it's based on the average of the top five players on the, on the, at the position.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_01]: So that's really going to raise up that price.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_01]: So it could be a case of both both sides being like, we want to see what you do again.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_01]: And
- 12:41[SPEAKER_01]: But you don't know that if he goes out and has a great season, well, he has that franchise tag if they don't want to meet that number right now or come close to it.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_01]: Denver's like, Denver can be like, well, we have that franchise tag.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_01]: If you go out there and you have a big season, we're going to be paying you either way.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_01]: We'd rather see you go and replicate and step improve from what you did last year before we pay you that kind of money.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_01]: So they're, they may be fine planet.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: So it's either way at this point and only thing I can say is that
- 13:09[SPEAKER_01]: Thank god negotiations have not been public.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much for the super chat.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_02]: David, we appreciate you.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_02]: We got Troy also coming.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_02]: It's as excited for the year.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_02]: Ingram is going to have and how much that will open up for the running game and other receivers.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_02]: Do you think it will open up specifically for the running game?
- 13:28[SPEAKER_02]: I'm curious to see how he is
- 13:31[SPEAKER_02]: involved there because I'm expecting about a fifty fifty split uh... between in line and boundary or maybe you know if you want to include age back uh... wherever he's in line up but it's going it's not going to be fully tied in he's going to be kind of almost the i'm trying to figure what we wanted to go such as role to be the last season that we saw early on uh... in and out kind of player and
- 13:53[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if he helps the run game that much because I don't, like do you think they're going to be always, like he's out in the slot?
- 14:01[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to be matching with a linebacker or a safety recorder back.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_02]: I guess that's how it could impact the run game because it box numbers at the end of the day are the biggest dictator of run game efficiency and having another weapon out there should help in general, but I'm not expecting him to be like, you know, this massive
- 14:16[SPEAKER_02]: Why tied in that like changes the math like let's say Donald Washington, right?
- 14:20[SPEAKER_02]: He's out there.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_02]: He's essentially a six law offensive lineman.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_02]: He looks bigger than Project Jones for God's sake.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_02]: It's insane.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you saw this.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_01]: There's talk about them, both in and playing in my tackle now.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_02]: There was talk of that.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_02]: But then coming out of the draft.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_02]: He's massive.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_02]: He's got the frame for it.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the way more value doing that.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_02]: Although he did have some pretty good catches against the Broncos last season.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_02]: We too, but I digress.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_02]: I'm curious over where we go.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure if he's actually going to help the running game that much, but he should help the overall offense.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think the way he helps the run game is by helping the past game.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_01]: And as you kind of alluded to it, drawing the box numbers out, line them out in the slot, pulling that light, trying to pull that line back to that safety out and open up things that way.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: as a blocker, he's not going to help too much.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think he'll give you a little bit more than what we saw with some of the guys previously, not necessarily Adkins, maybe troublemakers, it's been terrible for two years in Denver as a blocker.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_01]: But it's not a great blocker in the technical sense of he gets a job done.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_01]: He's decent enough in the way of, I'm going to get in the way and impede the defenders
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the defender's path.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_01]: And hopefully that's enough to get, you know, the run broke and through the running back broken through.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_01]: So again, I think it's more so what he does in the passing game, opening up the run game again, easing up the box numbers, then directly with the blocking, but he should help at least to a, at least a little bit, I guess, would be the best would be the way to put it.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much, Troy.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_02]: I am excited just for his impact.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_02]: I'm hoping it's going to help the short pass game, the quick pass game and the outlet because last season, the option was Javansal Williams and that was not always all that exciting.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_02]: So hopefully the quick pass game and the yards after catch stuff that Sean Peyton and in theory, Botanix should be leaning into.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, if you were not a dominant running team, which
- 16:27[SPEAKER_02]: I guess that we can get in the bulltakes here pretty soon.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_02]: But if you're not a dominant running game, you need to be very good in the quick pass game and efficient.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_02]: There to keep yourself out of the third and longs and make those high percentage plays sometimes turned into explosives.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's where we'll see the value of ingram.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_02]: Good to see Rich, Rich in here.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_02]: Gene says, what's the idea with Baron?
- 16:47[SPEAKER_02]: Do we think he's going to start our shine?
- 16:48[SPEAKER_02]: Sit behind McWillon.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_02]: Based on everything we've heard, it sounds like Baron's going to be
- 16:54[SPEAKER_02]: rotated in some early on, but I've lost some McMillan.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_02]: It's not like they might be starting here, which is disappointing.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_02]: I know, down in May, it's not the end for a bear in or anything.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_02]: It's not a huge indictment, but it is disappointing.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's disappointing.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_01]: There's no doubt about that.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, when they drafted him, it was with expectation that he would come in and he would take the starting nickel job.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not that he's been so bad where they can't start him.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's just Jaclyn McMillan took a major step forward this off season.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_01]: By multiple accounts of people that I've talked that I talk with, they're like, he's been great.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_01]: He's definitely taking his game to his next level, comments like that.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_01]: And it's kind of tough because we've turned on that.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_01]: We saw that for an enters game where, you know, he gives up that big catch on that first drive that led to a touchdown.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_01]: But he, he's one of those guys that even last year and, you know, when he started a couple of seasons ago,
- 17:48[SPEAKER_01]: It was he'd give you those boneheaded plays, but he would make up for it with a big play, right?
- 17:54[SPEAKER_01]: It was pretty consistently turnovers.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_01]: But last year, you kind of added to it more with, you know, getting pressure on the quarterback got a couple, got a sack or two, some big plays against the run.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_01]: So he's just got to be more consistent with the coverage.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_01]: But Barren's not starting because Barren's been bad.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_01]: Barren's starting because McMillan's just been better.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: And Vanschuss of has a tendency to not fully, you know, trust rookies, especially since coming to Denver.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_01]: And then you add into the fact of, they have not hidden the fact that are being quite about the fact that internally it's Super Bowl or bust.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_01]: So when you have a guy who's making a rookie who's making rookie mistakes or a veteran who's improving his play, who are you going to trust a little bit more?
- 18:34[SPEAKER_01]: Who's a little bit more consistent?
- 18:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's the veteran.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_01]: That's the way they're going to go.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_01]: I would expect McMillan to have a short leash, even with him showing the improvements just because they have Baron in the wings waiting.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_01]: So I could see it if McMillan still struggling by week four week five, I can see the making that switch.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_01]: But until then, I at least see Baron rotating in with them a little bit.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, expect you don't typically see rotation for defensive backs too much with like offensive line or I assume it's similar to offensive line, but we'll see.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_01]: It could also depend on down and distance.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_02]: Also with the Broncos questions at Wine Becker, Health Wise, maybe we see time.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_02]: So they're going to try to get into time.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be fascinating.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_02]: Got to get into these predictions here.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_02]: Good to see you Greg Smith, yes, there's no more Sundays without an NFL football, not for a while.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_02]: Amy, great to see you.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_02]: Hope you're doing well.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate you.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_02]: And bold prediction number one for me, Eric.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_02]: Positive here.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_02]: I'm expecting a huge season from John Ellis.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_02]: That's my bold prediction and I think that come the end of the year.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_02]: It's not going to be the Broncos starting with Cooper and Benito.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_02]: It is going to be the Broncos trifecta of Benito Cooper and Ellis all viewed on the same.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_02]: tier and plain, and I think there's going to be a viable argument for any of them being the Broncos' best adressure this season.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_02]: So big step up from Jonah Ellis, he's going to give Cooper run for his money.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_02]: I think that Benito is still obviously the dominant fastball sack player, odd should be high for Benito to finish as the highest sack earner, but I think it's going to be pretty close to it.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_02]: even split in value and with what we've seen from the power profile from run defense and pass rush from Ellis this season.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_02]: I think Denver might have a three headed monster now.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_02]: It's not like when we had Von Miller and it's the first ballot Hall of Fame, you know, face of Philly defensive player.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_02]: But I think Ellis is going to step up and we're going to have a serious debates on which guy is actually the best of the three.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so when I saw the topic for today, I was trying to think of some and for those, you don't know this.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_01]: I don't see the topic until about five, ten minutes before we go live.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, hey, I need to set five pretty unless you don't get on until which would make sense because you're a last time.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_01]: And so I saw the topic and I'm like, all right, what's what's a bull prediction?
- 21:03[SPEAKER_01]: And first one that came to mind, Jonah Ellis is second in the room in tactical.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_01]: I think he beats out either Nick Benito or Drowned Cooper, obviously more likely to be Cooper.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_01]: Um, just because Benito with what he's done and how he wins, it's something that's can be pretty repeatable.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_01]: And especially if Benito is putting in the work to improve the past fresh moves, especially adding a counter to his game and working to get through tackles a little bit more that can help replicate that.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_01]: Ellis, I think, is has a really good chance to out sack Cooper.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_01]: I think that it'll lead to some conversations about Denver moving Cooper next year.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_01]: As good as it is to have three obviously financial situations.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously lead to issues with that.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_01]: And it might become a discussion of even though they still have Ellis with another year of before an extension kicks in.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_01]: They can't extend it in such an office for in twenty six.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_01]: Well,
- 22:01[SPEAKER_01]: that can play into it is we're going to be looking at extension after twenty six we're going to move Cooper prior to the trade deadline in twenty twenty twenty six.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that's a big thing there but Cooper has been one of the most impressive players to me throughout the preseason.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_01]: I have really big expectations for him.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's going to really emerge as a guy who is going to rotate a lot with Benito on rundowns in particular.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_01]: Did you mean Ellis?
- 22:27[SPEAKER_02]: You said.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Ellis has been one that's been, that has set up the most, and he's going to, that he's going to rotate with Benito on run downs, and then, and that's going to help him obviously, because not every run down is obviously a run down.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes they pass, I think that's going to help them there, and then rotating with Cooper on passing downs.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_01]: So I think he's going to see the field quite a bit.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_01]: Not quite starter snap counts, but pretty darn close to it and ends up, again, ends up at second in sacks among the edge room.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so very positive one at the end of the day, we call it good problems, but I'm really excited to see, I mean, just the play is zoning in on him in preseason, the despite not being a massive player, the leverage and the power that he's had that was just, I didn't see it as much there.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_02]: And I think a lot of it is technique, but it looks, it looks different from him.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_02]: And I see Kong got talking about if Ellis has that good of a year, do you trade Benito tag and trade?
- 23:21[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's,
- 23:22[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos obviously can get more expensive than it's risky for their camp to wait on Nick Benito, but waiting to see how Ellis plays can change the perspective as well along with obviously injury concerns.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_02]: If you don't have that guaranteed contract time with Benito, so Denver does have that.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_02]: bargaining chip rigorous fallback option in their back pocket.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_02]: If things with Benino kind of fall off the rails and whatnot, and maybe it is a tag and trade.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's not likely, especially with how important the human aspect, how important Benino has been in the locker room.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_02]: I think they find a way to get it done.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_02]: Certainly a factor, and I have big expectations for Ellis this season.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_02]: Cooper as well is a good player, but I think he's going to be a three-headed monster.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_02]: I think along with all the depth they have on the interior.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we've had multiple conversations about how, you know, part of the reason why we were fine with Denver waiting on, but need to is seeing if he can replicate the year, but also seeing what Ellis can do, because Ellis can change things in that conversation.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_01]: And I've kind of changed my tune a little bit to where as much as I have an issue with Nick Benito against as a run defender and the way he wins,
- 24:35[SPEAKER_01]: He's still a good player to have, as you said, talk about with a locker room.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_01]: That's a good reason to for them to keep him.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of become is, I've kind of switched it to where they need to keep Benito, and then with Ellis hits, then you switch that conversation as I was talking about just a few minutes ago.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_01]: to moving Cooper after this season because Cooper's he's a fine player.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's just he has always struggled with the consistency of it as a run defender and as a pass washer.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's always been such an issue with him and he you know last season he started off hot got the extension and really fell off.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_01]: and his rookie or not his rookie season, but the season before that, it was he started off really bad and then kind of came along as a run defender and then kind of struggled a little bit and then came back.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_01]: So the consistency with Cooper has been something that's why if you get LSS step up, you extend Benito and move Cooper and you know, switch to LSS and Benito.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_01]: And then hope that you can find somebody else step as a three, because obviously you want to three-headed monster at the position.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_01]: But again, financials is a big thing with it and Cooper's financials are a bit of an issue after this season.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see, he's definitely been one of the guys that Media has hyped up from training camp.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of the season now, it's always a zero sum because maybe the Broncos depth it offensive tackle is ass and he's beating them up.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, we'll see as the season goes on, but what we see right now is Dave Glassman to come and remember, I was just about to give you a hard time day for not being a member yet considering how much you are in here hanging out with us.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_02]: And boom, here you are, you're red in my mind.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_02]: So great to see you, Dave, happy Labor Day.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_02]: I hope you're doing well.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_02]: It's David Oregon, Ducks fan.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_02]: I can't remember if he is.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_02]: They looked, I'm played Montana State.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_02]: I think so.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, Alex Singleton, but Oregon looks pretty good.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_02]: I can't wait for Oregon at Iowa.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_02]: I guess I can, because Iowa did not look good.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_02]: I had Oregon looks pretty good.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_02]: I have another bulltake here, Eric.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just going to wrap it fire here because we're probably going to get out of here in fifteen or so minutes.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_02]: My next one, this is kind of a double hot take.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_02]: I think JK Dobbins is going to lead the entire offense in touches this season.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_02]: And why is that a hot take?
- 26:49[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that means that probably RJ Harvey didn't quite run with the opportunities at hand.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_02]: And I think some of that has to do with past protection woes we've talked about.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_02]: I still think it's going to be close in the touches are in the rushes.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_02]: But I think Dobbins is going to have a good time.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_02]: Also, I'm leaning into why that's a bold take.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_02]: That means Dobbins probably stays healthy this season.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm just, you know, believing in that one.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_02]: I've been not like, you know, super over the moon with Dobbins.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_02]: I also think that him being the lead teacher probably caps the offense a little bit because they've, like, let's say it's sudden or ingram or Harvey doing that.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's probably
- 27:30[SPEAKER_02]: And, and Domain State's healthy, that's probably means there's more explosive miss with the offense in general, the past games that much better run game, whatever.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_02]: But I'm leaning in, Dobbins and this one, I think that probably means the run game at best is probably middle of the pack this season.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not fully buying Denver's offensive line right now, especially with the outside zone stuff.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see, we'll give them time, just kind of like we do with bonus last season, you know, six, eight weeks.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_02]: Let's look at what the overall sample says, but right now I'm not over all buying the offensive line.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not buying the run game, but I am buying Dobbins getting
- 28:00[SPEAKER_02]: outlet touches, dropping the ball off, and a lot of snap still because he's the trustworthy one in pass protection.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I had a, I didn't have one for running backs, but if I had a make one, I would probably be too to over two thousand yards from scrimmage total between Harvey and Dobbins.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_01]: And the reason why that's bulletin, you can't attach on it is the offensive line.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of concern.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_01]: You good?
- 28:30[SPEAKER_02]: Did I not, did I not mute?
- 28:32[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't mute, no.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_01]: You good?
- 28:34[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, that means, that means, yeah, I'm good.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, that means I'm not coming through my, my microphone.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you're one second.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_01]: Anyways, so yeah, with Harvey and Dobbins with the offensive line issues, I could see them having, it would be hard for them to have a worse rushing offensive last year.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_01]: They'd have to actively try to be worse.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_01]: But I may not be as good as a lot of people think because the offensive line, particularly Luke Wattenberg when it comes to the run game is such an issue.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_01]: We saw him multiple times struggle to move people.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_01]: And this isn't, you know, Ben Powers has his issues too.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_01]: This is more past protection.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_01]: But Luke Wattenberg just cannot clear out the rushing lanes in the middle, even against some defensive linemen who aren't, you know, the best interior run defenders.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_01]: He still has those issues.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_01]: And the Broncos obviously they're adding a lot more outside.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_01]: Don't do it.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_01]: which that's going to really be, uh, indicative of what we're getting from the blocking from the tight end position.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not seeing it there.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_01]: I've been very vocal about how bad of a blocker.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_01]: Adam Trottman has been.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_01]: And he's the lead blocker here at the in the tight end room.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_01]: So I can see them having a lot of issues here.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_01]: So over two thousand yards between the two backs in total scrimmage yards, not just rushing.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's bold to me because that means that obviously that should mean that one of them is getting over a thousand yards brushing.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, because it's not going to be mostly receiving yards from the running backs.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_01]: You're probably going to be looking at maybe seven, eight hundred yards total at most receiving from their backs.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_01]: at most.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_01]: And so Harvey, it would be the guy that I'm looking at to take them get the most brushing yards.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_01]: And I can kind of see it where Dobbins ends up with more touches being that outlet receiver out of the backfield, that kind of safety net replacing that.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_01]: Where Javante Williams was among the top in total targets and receptions for running bags last year.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_01]: you're replacing that, that's Dobbins.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_01]: And then Harvey is the leading Russia, as you said, having the more yards.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_01]: So I can see it's up like eleven hundred nine hundred split or something to that effect between the two.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_01]: But the offensive line is going to be such a concern with this run game, because none of them of the starting offensive line were great this preseason.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_01]: Even when miners was really struggling in clearing out lanes in the running game and even in pass protection, it was an issue all over the place.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_02]: It really was.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_02]: It really was.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_02]: We got my given, it's coming in, in, in, in, in, in, in, great to see in my copy doing well and Todd says the interesting take by me.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_02]: I said touches.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_02]: And I think the big reason is going to be the outlet passing as well.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_02]: So I think Javansal Williams was probably the number one touch person last season for the Broncos.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that's going to distribute over it because he was definitely number two in targets.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_02]: But then when he had the rushing attempts as well, I think he had to be number one.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_02]: So that's that's where I'm leaning right now.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_02]: So Erica, we do have Mike Gibbons again.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_02]: Ninety ninety nine is pretty darn awesome.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_02]: Hope we're doing a little happy Labor Day.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_02]: Hope you're enjoying your three day weekend.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_02]: Hot take Eric before we get out of here another ten fifteen minutes.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_02]: Not hot to hold prediction.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_02]: We're not hot take artists, but that's not to really our realm.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_01]: One of the Broncos offensive linemen and this is this is a bit of a negative.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_01]: This is a fully negative.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_01]: Not a bit of one.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_01]: One of the starting offensive linemen get benched during this season.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, for who did and by who and if it should be obvious, one of the two that the main to it is, look what on Burger Ben Powers.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_01]: It could be if the Broncos have the issue getting the run game going last year, Alex Forsyth wasn't a great starter.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_01]: He really struggled in past protection, but what did he do well?
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: he opened up the lane to the running game.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_01]: He knew it was far better than Luke Wattonburg was there.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_01]: So if they're having those issues getting the run game going, I could see them making that switch and trying to come up with ways, maybe it's using Tobin's even a little bit more in pass for Dekin to help cover up for four sites in that aspect or hoping that four sites, you know, takes makes it big set for there.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_01]: But I think that Sean Peyton really wants to get the run game going this year.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_01]: He's a guy who loves to
- 32:40[SPEAKER_01]: Do what he can to prove himself right and he made he's getting gotten a lot of fight for taking Harvey even though NFL other NFL teams had Harvey.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_01]: Hi, a lot of media people have given him a lot of fight for it.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_01]: So I can see him doing something to try to prove himself right and maybe that's Benching Wattonburg.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe it's Benching Powers Calvin Throck Morton would be the one there unless Alec Pacheski is you know just playing
- 33:00[SPEAKER_01]: two good and practice, and doing better at garden, they want to make a switch.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_01]: Either way, I could see one of them benched.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_01]: And this sneaky bench option would be Mike McGlenshee.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it happens just because he is one of the better run blocking off with the vitamin.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_01]: But this, that would be the, you know, the sneaky third option, I guess, of the offensive one of the off of the one to get benched.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, man, we've aged into offensive line bros.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_02]: Eric, I mean, at the end of the day, that's the, if you're not good enough in the trenches, the other stuff doesn't matter.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_02]: It's superfluous.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_02]: If you're tiebreaker, then it can, you know, are you tied, then it can branch out.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_02]: But I, yeah, I don't know.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_02]: I see Richie Rich talking about the offensive line regressing.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_02]: Denver had a lot of health in the offensive line last season.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_02]: We will see if their theory that the running backs for the issue with the run game versus the offensive line because they really hammered that and especially the combine interviews.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_02]: I know the past protection stuff was good.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see if that continues this season.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_02]: We don't want Bonax to be trying to do too much there.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_02]: Kind of like we saw in that first preseason game where you took that safety.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_02]: But we'll see.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_02]: My next hot take here, Eric.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_02]: This is a
- 34:12[SPEAKER_02]: somewhat of a negative one as well, but I just think with how the team is set up.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_02]: I think the Broncos are going to lead the NFL in dime this season.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_02]: Why is that?
- 34:21[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's going to be amplified for two reasons.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_02]: One, you have four defensive four cornerbacks that you're very interested in in that unit and also.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_02]: You have two linebackers who are already going to be on a pitch count this season.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_02]: It kind of saw the Broncos already dabble with that last season.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_02]: They weren't overly excited about their linebacker room with some of the injuries.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, even before the injury to singleton happened, they weren't overly enthusiastic with the linebacker room trying to make a move at the deadline, if you recall, are not the deadline before the season started.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_02]: My close put not a tweet about that a year ago.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_02]: And I think one of those linebackers is going to get hurt.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_02]: Miss some time.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe both of them.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe they'll stagger who knows.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_02]: And then you have those four cornerbacks defensive backs as well.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_02]: So I think Denver is going to be one of the number one teams in.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_02]: dime usage this season.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_02]: They can do that because they have depth in the defensive tackle room in the edge room as well.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_02]: I do wish they had you know a three hundred and thirty pound lengthy boy at zero and one technique.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_02]: I would help that even more.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_02]: But when you have like a phonga as part of the rotation, all those cornerbacks, I think that it lends itself to being a dime team only amplified by not trusting the durability of the linebacker room.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, and one injury to it as you mentioned, already on a on a pitch count, which to side of the season is not too bad.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_01]: Not when you have the Titans in the courts on on the way.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_01]: I think those are two dot guys where two teams where you can really rest green law and single, then not there go ready for the rest of the season when things start to get tough, but one entry and that's going to change a lot, especially if it's green law.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_01]: Green law is such a difference maker for because of what he can enable the defense to do, where if you lose him, I could
- 36:04[SPEAKER_01]: very easily see it and that's and with the health of it when you look at teams who have done well staying healthy for you know a few years at time health comes due right the chiefs have been one of the luckiest teams in staying in you know for multiple years and last year they kind of got the short end of the stick a little bit um it's just one of those things where eventually injuries happen
- 36:30[SPEAKER_01]: And my worry is that that's going to happen this year.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_01]: And that's going to really derail those season, especially with all the guys that they brought in with Fanga injury concerns, Greenland injury concerns, Ingram, Dobbins injury concerns.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_01]: So a lot of it throughout the new veterans that they brought in is one.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_01]: And so I don't want to make it a bold prediction.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_01]: But it's things are on track this year for them to do a little bit worse in the health department.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_01]: But my next poll prediction is one where they, so fun fact, the Broncos last year were called for eight more penalties than their opponents, but they got hit with two hundred and eighteen more penalty yards, which was the third worse in it.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_01]: So my bold prediction is this year is that it completely flips.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_01]: The third among one of the best teams in terms of penalties going in their favor, not giving up as many yards.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_01]: And the big reason for that is cutting down on those big penalties, cutting down on the passenger clearance, the holding both offense and defense.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_01]: just cutting down on those and also helping take that step of, and this is kind of a, you know, in special, right?
- 37:40[SPEAKER_01]: We've kind of seen it multiple times how he can draw defensive passenger appearance.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's not necessarily going to become a big part of the game plan, but it's something that bone nicks is going, that's going to be like one of the steps bone nicks takes is being able to see, you know, those opportunities to draw a passenger appearance.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_01]: Not just on something, but other receivers, you know, team trying to slow it down, Franklin, team trying to slow it down.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_01]: Mims get in a way, holding and using that to draw more penalty.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not really one player, but it's whole team.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_01]: I think they flip the script when it comes to penalties this year.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, bold prediction.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_02]: Eric, that's a good one.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_02]: I hope that.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we'll see.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_02]: They are discipline.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_02]: They're a little bit more senior.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_02]: So you hope so.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_02]: The end.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_02]: My final bull prediction here.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos week one starting punter is not their week.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_02]: They're starting punter come weeks six.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_02]: I think Jeremy Krasha is going to
- 38:33[SPEAKER_02]: makes on Peyton loose his mind the risler is not going to be able to handle it and they're talking about you know that first punts bad or whatever this is not a team that has the ability to you know wait out a punter who is erratic so I think that bold prediction Denver's going to have to probably maybe limp through maybe Krasha goes to the practice squad or something I'm not sure you don't typically see that but I just don't imagine them having much
- 38:58[SPEAKER_02]: wiggle room patience for a punter trying to figure it out.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_02]: And that's stinks.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_02]: What was he a six-round pick?
- 39:05[SPEAKER_02]: He traded a fifth for six and seventh.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_02]: First punter drafted, maybe even the first true specialist drafted in this draft as well.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_02]: But other and obviously your returners are what not, but they have their little different.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_02]: But I don't buy it right now as it stinks.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_02]: The way they're talking about it is
- 39:24[SPEAKER_02]: It feels like they're making excuses for something.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't think the team with the window of competition that they're in, with how fine the margins are in the NFL that they can handle it.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_02]: So I think Krasha is going to be replaced by week six.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_02]: And hopefully I'm wrong.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_02]: That's a bold prediction, but we are on alert with special teams in the puncher right now.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think they write it out with him.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_01]: I think I think I think they'll write it out.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_01]: I think if anything, I think we'll see Peyton be a little bit more aggressive on offense on fourth down instead of punting, especially kind of in that dead man's area where it's actually better to go for instead of punting, which is basically about the, you know, forty to the forty, forty five to forty five, right in that range is better to go for it.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think we might see a little bit more of that from Peyton if Krasha is not getting it, but
- 40:15[SPEAKER_01]: One, there is, I don't think there's a single coach in the NFL right now that Peyton has more trust in developing somebody than the Wristler.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_01]: And this is, this is Darren Rizzi's guy.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_01]: I think Peyton's gonna trust him and, you know, defer to him when it comes to it.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_01]: So if Krasha gets benched, I think it's gonna be Rizzi giving up on him more so than Peyton.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_01]: And I just can't see, I just can't see Rizzi doing that during his rookie season.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Todd says that it's not a bold prediction to him.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_02]: Right now, I'm nervous.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously being an Iowa fan, I've come to appreciate punching because punching is winning at the end of the day.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_02]: And you're hoping that Denver's offense is, you know, so good that doesn't matter, but this isn't, you know, high school football where you're just overly dominant, even the college football where it's like,
- 41:06[SPEAKER_02]: punch like the margins are so fricking small in the NFL.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_02]: So Krasha better hurry up and figure it out otherwise I'm going to be in here every week complaining about punching and you can have obviously there's probably more value team building wise of like the core four like gunners and everything like that but that's because your stability with the kicker and the puncher if you have it and right now it doesn't appear the Broncos have it and they try hard to get the
- 41:32[SPEAKER_02]: The guy who signed with the Cowboys, I think they wanted him originally in preseason.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_02]: If I recall, I think he went back to the Cowboys.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_02]: They lost their punter from last season.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_02]: They were interested in bringing him back, but then he went to the bucks.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_02]: I think Dixon went off to the bucks.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_02]: It seems like the draft option was third choice at the end of the day, unfortunately.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_02]: And right now, I just, I don't, doesn't make me feel good.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_02]: I get nervous about it right now.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_02]: And that's just something you cannot be losing games because of your kickers or punches.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_02]: And that can get ugly quickly.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_02]: So punch or watch.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_02]: Eric, we got time for one more.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_02]: Bold prediction.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_02]: My bold prediction will do one more for me.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_02]: I think Denver does.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_02]: when the division.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_02]: I think we're going to get some Kansas City, uh, and I think it has as much to do with, I think I'm expecting Kansas City defensive regression this season.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_02]: Um, so Denver is going to be right there.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_02]: They have to beat the freaking chargers.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_02]: Like right now everybody's talking like, oh, the chiefs.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_02]: They've been number one forever, but like Denver went on to against the chargers last season.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_02]: I got to figure out how to be strong against Harbobble, uh, but I'll just say it being bold.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_02]: Denver wins a division.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_02]: We'll do that one.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know what's your final one.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if I just stole your thunder on it as well, but that's that's that's what I wanted to get out there.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_01]: No, that can't really be my prediction.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_01]: I've been recalling thirteen and four and I've been very outspoken about them when in the division.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_01]: And how this is like a fine opportunity.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_01]: I think the Broncos, my, my final blood prediction was I think the Broncos upset, and these are games that most people have done for losing.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_01]: They either upset the Eagles or upset the commanders.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_01]: They lose, they only go three and one against NFC, I guess would be the better way to put it.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_01]: They beat the giants, I think they beat the Cowboys, but then they either beat the commanders or the Eagles, which I already have them beat in the commanders.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not fully buying into the commanders as a whole.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_01]: especially that defense.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_01]: So I think there's an opportunity there.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_01]: That would be the one that I think is easier for them to win.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_01]: Eagles, East Coast game, early morning East Coast game, Eagles.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be tough.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_01]: But three and one against NFC East obviously conference games matter a little bit more when it comes to tie breakers.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_01]: But hey, it doesn't matter if you don't have to worry about tie breakers.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_01]: And one of the ways you can do that is by beating your out of conference opponents, three and one in the NFC East.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_02]: Well, going to be fun.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, a bold direction from Todd, Denver beats the chiefs as a division champs.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_02]: It'll be great.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_02]: So you guys know what you think.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_02]: Anything that we were way off the mark or something that you have that we didn't hit on.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like right now there's not as many question marks.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_02]: The question marks are can they stay healthy, right?
- 44:12[SPEAKER_02]: The two big question marks can they stay healthy?
- 44:15[SPEAKER_02]: Can Bonax take a step forward?
- 44:17[SPEAKER_02]: There's your season at the end of the day for the Broncos, but
- 44:20[SPEAKER_02]: Hopefully some of these ones are fun and you guys can leave out and maybe then the year we can come back and look at our bull predictions not so bold in the end.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_02]: Or hopefully some of them are bold and incorrect.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe the offensive line takes a step forward.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe RJ Harvey is rookie the year.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_02]: real game reps are happening.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_02]: He's just a completely different player and the past game stuff just amplifies or it figures it out and we'll see.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_02]: So appreciate it.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_02]: Season's right around the corner.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_02]: Next Monday will be a reaction to the Broncos actually having a game and hopefully beaten the heck.

- 46:19[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_02]: So, all doesn't even start until September, twenty seconds.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_02]: So, give me, we got to get through Halloween.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_02]: I'm here for writing off November.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_02]: You can put up your Christmas tree November first, God bless.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_02]: I need to get through Halloween.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_02]: I need to leave other decorations through January, too.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_02]: January and February, I don't care.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_02]: But born in February, the worst month.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_02]: By far.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_01]: The anywhere is not much better.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_02]: It's not, but like a January, it's still like the Christmas high, a little bit.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_02]: All right, well, everyone.
