The epistle reminds us of our divine affiliation and the gospel and a parable tells us of the duties thereby entailed. We are the children of God since we may say in all truth, our father. God has given us life wherefore we must live according to his will.

Just as the rich landowner who before giving his son his share of the heritage wishes to test his administrative capability by entrusting to him things of little value. God, before making us his heirs in heaven, has wished to test our fidelity by giving us the management on earth of both temporal and spiritual goods. But like the steward mentioned by Jesus, we have been unfaithful dissipating by sin the riches and talents which God entrusted to us. Therefore, vying in zeal with the children of the world, the sons of light imitate the foresight of the steward who by means of his father's riches prepared friends unto himself. Turning to profitable use, the goods God has given to us, let us do good.
• 1:55
And especially by almsgiving, let us secure the testimony which the poor will bear their benefactors at the moment when all will have to give an account of their stewardship to the divine judge. In the name of the father and of the son and of the holy ghost. Amen. The introit. Within thy temple, o God, we have sought and found thy merciful presence.
• 2:32
O God, wherever thy name is known on earth, thy praise is told, ever just in thy dealings. The Lord is great, and great honor is his due here in the city of our God, here on his holy mountain. Glory be to the father and to the son and to the Holy Ghost as it was in the beginning is now and will be through all ages of ages. Amen. Within thy temple, O God, we have sought and found thy merciful presence.
• 3:14
O God, wherever thy name is known on earth, thy praise is told ever just in Thy dealings. The Collect, let us pray. O Lord, we pray Thee, let Thy abundant gracious inspiration prompt us always to right thoughts and rightful action so that we who cannot exist without thee may be enabled to live as thou wouldst have us live through our Lord Jesus Christ, thy Son, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God through all ages of ages. Amen. A lesson from the letter of Saint Paul the Apostle to the Romans.
• 4:13
Brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die. But if by the spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are led by the spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the spirit of sonship.
• 4:48
When we cry Abba, father, it is the spirit himself bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God. And if children then heirs heirs of God sharing the inheritance of Christ. The gradual. Be my divine protector, my stronghold of defense to keep me from harm. In thee, oh God, have I put my trust.
• 5:27
Let me never be confounded. Alleluia. Alleluia. The Lord is great and great honor is his due here in the city of our God, here on his holy mountain. Alleluia.
• 5:47
A continuation of the holy gospel according to Luke. At that time Jesus told his disciples this parable. There was a rich man that had a steward and a report came to him that his steward had wasted his goods. Whereupon he sent for him and said to him, what is this that I hear of thee? Give an account of thy stewardship for thou canst not be my steward any longer.
• 6:24
At this, the steward said to himself, what am I to do now that my master is taking my stewardship away from me? I have no strength to dig. I would be ashamed to beg for alms. I see what I must do so as to be welcomed into men's houses when I am dismissed from my stewardship. Then he summoned his master's debtors one by one, And he said to the first, how much is it that thou owes to my master?
• 7:02
A 100 firkins of oil, he said. And he told him, here is thy bill. Quick. Sit down and write it as 50. Then he said to a second, and thou, how much does thou owe?
• 7:21
A 100 quarters of wheat, he said. And he told him, here is thy bill. Write it as 80. And this knavish steward was commended by his master for his prudence in what he had done. For indeed the children of this world are more prudent after their own fashion than the children of light and my counsel to you is make use of your base wealth to win yourselves friends who when you leave it behind will welcome you into the everlasting dwellings.
• 8:07
The offertory. Lowly people you save, o lord, but haughty eyes you bring low. For who is God except you, O Lord? The secret, except we pray thee, O Lord, the gifts we bring thee out of thy own bounty so that by the powerful working of thy grace, these holy rites may sanctify our conduct in this present life and bring us finally to everlasting joy. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, thy Son, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God through all ages of ages.
• 8:58
Amen. The Preface of the Most Holy Trinity. Just it is and fitting, right and for our salvation, that we should at all times and in all places give thanks unto thee, O Holy Lord, Father Almighty, everlasting God, who together with thine only begotten son and the Holy Ghost, art one God, one Lord, not in the oneness of a single person, but in the trinity of one substance. For what we believe by thy revelation of thy glory, the same do we believe of thy son, the same of the Holy Ghost without difference or separation. So that in confessing the true and eternal Godhead distinction in persons, unity in essence, and equality in majesty may be adored In praise of which the angels and archangels, the cherubim also and Seraphim day by day exalt without end with one voice saying, holy, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts.
• 10:19
The heavens and the earth are full of thy glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. The communion.
• 10:40
Taste and see how good the Lord is. Blessed is the man that learns to trust in him. The post communion. Let us pray. May this heavenly sacrament renew us in mind and body, O Lord, making us feel the power of the rite we celebrate through our Lord Jesus Christ, thy son, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God through all ages of ages.
• 11:19
Amen. In the name of the father, and of the son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen. Thanks be to God.
