- 0:41Speaker 1: Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Alex will not be here.
- 0:46Speaker 4: She has sent her pick.
- 0:48Speaker 3: Yeah, feeling a little under the weather today. She got
- 0:50Speaker 3: something she thinks she picked up telling not to touch
- 0:53Speaker 3: dirty things.
- 0:54Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 0:55Speaker 3: The one and six Panthers are at the four and
- 0:58Speaker 3: three Broncos.
- 1:00Speaker 4: Where are they playing at home?
- 1:02Speaker 3: It's unbelievable. I mean, the league has gotten away with
- 1:06Speaker 3: this for thirty years.
- 1:07Speaker 4: It's unbelievable.
- 1:08Speaker 5: You know.
- 1:08Speaker 4: The worst thing, it's it's Fred's favorite team too. The
- 1:10Speaker 4: Broncos used to be when we played in high school.
- 1:14Speaker 4: You know, we ran the play, and you ran the play,
- 1:16Speaker 4: Jimmy golant To. You would come back and say, Paul
- 1:19Speaker 4: I was open, Like I wouldn't have read the field
- 1:21Speaker 4: and done that, only because I was so sick of
- 1:24Speaker 4: listening to them every play.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Do you think you could go into the wide receiver
- 1:28Speaker 3: room and tell that story?
- 1:29Speaker 4: And I think I could tell them to you know, yeah,
- 1:32Speaker 4: shut the right get in there, off your phone, As
- 1:35Speaker 4: Teddy Bruski would say, to Chad O Cho Senko, get
- 1:39Speaker 4: off your phone and getting your playbook.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Paul finishes his five minute like you know, fire and
- 1:43Speaker 3: Brimstone speech walks out and they're.
- 1:45Speaker 4: Like, who was that. That's the guy that works on
- 1:48Speaker 4: the website.
- 1:49Speaker 6: He just knows.
- 1:50Speaker 1: This is Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:52Speaker 7: Presented by Toyota's official website.

- 2:00Speaker 4: the Patriots Unfiltered.
- 2:01Speaker 3: It is Tuesday here at Let's Stadium, and it's a
- 2:04Speaker 3: victory Tuesday because the Patriots beat the Jets. It's always
- 2:08Speaker 3: a good day when the Jets lose, and even better
- 2:11Speaker 3: when you win when you beat them.
- 2:13Speaker 4: So what I was doing the pup, but I wasn't
- 2:16Speaker 4: on oh victory Tuesday. Absolutely. I just want to echo
- 2:21Speaker 4: your sentiments from the post game show and let you
- 2:22Speaker 4: give get a chance to reiterate. Just I'm proud.
- 2:26Speaker 3: I'm proud of the guys, I'm proud of the bounce back,
- 2:29Speaker 3: I'm proud of the fight.
- 2:30Speaker 4: The response, yeah it, m yeah, Fred Fred had a
- 2:35Speaker 4: lot of pride, beaming with pride. One might say, Mike,
- 2:38Speaker 4: that's taking that beaming with pride.
- 2:41Speaker 8: I feel like I was I was so off because
- 2:43Speaker 8: I had computer issues, so I didn't enjoy the win
- 2:46Speaker 8: at all. He was like, I got home that like
- 2:48Speaker 8: I got home Sunday night, and I like had to
- 2:50Speaker 8: rewatch it on TV, just the ending, just the end
- 2:52Speaker 8: of the whole game.
- 2:53Speaker 6: Don't worry to Paul, just the ending.
- 2:55Speaker 8: And I was like, this is great, what a nice win.
- 2:57Speaker 8: And all of a sudden, I had this like where
- 2:59Speaker 8: was this energy for the postgame show?
- 3:01Speaker 6: And I had to talk about it because I was
- 3:02Speaker 6: so like, I can't publish my thing, and I like,
- 3:04Speaker 6: you know, and I had to.
- 3:05Speaker 4: Get a late step.
- 3:06Speaker 3: I was so frazzled, rattled, and I wasn't really.
- 3:08Speaker 4: Honest with you. I didn't sense that. Now I seem
- 3:10Speaker 4: I know that like you were, you had some no
- 3:14Speaker 4: I know, we had computer issues. He touted that when
- 3:16Speaker 4: it came down. But I thought, you know, I thought
- 3:18Speaker 4: you brought energy. You disputed Fred's pride.
- 3:21Speaker 3: That was jump in.
- 3:25Speaker 6: You know that energy from my future energy.
- 3:28Speaker 4: So I used it.
- 3:29Speaker 6: But I'm hoping to have a little good feel to
- 3:31Speaker 6: you know.
- 3:32Speaker 3: It's a good win last year, last week. Last week
- 3:35Speaker 3: the theme was we're soft. This week, we're hard.
- 3:37Speaker 4: That's right, all of us, He actually said that. He
- 3:41Speaker 4: said that on the post game show and almost I
- 3:46Speaker 4: almost lost the diapet. So yeah, I mean good stuff.
- 3:51Speaker 3: I mean the only negative coming out of the game
- 3:54Speaker 3: is Drake May and the concussion protocol. We're all waiting
- 3:58Speaker 3: to see what happens. I mean the way Gerard talked
- 4:02Speaker 3: about it and he saw him, you know, at halftime
- 4:05Speaker 3: or something. May was trying to make the case to
- 4:08Speaker 3: go back in. I know it has nothing to do.
- 4:11Speaker 3: It's up to the doctors, but I'm hoping that you know,
- 4:14Speaker 3: it was minor. He's going through the protocol and he
- 4:17Speaker 3: does get to play this week, but no one has
- 4:20Speaker 3: any idea.
- 4:21Speaker 6: Yeah, how coock do we know? I mean it was
- 4:22Speaker 6: until tomorrow.
- 4:23Speaker 4: With he's out there tomorrow, I that he'll know it
- 4:26Speaker 4: pretty late.
- 4:27Speaker 6: Yeah, that's what you think.
- 4:28Speaker 4: You'll have to wait, yeah, to It didn't get it
- 4:30Speaker 4: announced until Saturday, and he was practicing all.
- 4:33Speaker 9: Week, so they see how it goes, right, because right
- 4:38Speaker 9: he could have setbacks, you know, get out of practice
- 4:40Speaker 9: and then have a setback.
- 4:42Speaker 4: So okay, yeah, yeah, And I would just sort of
- 4:46Speaker 4: add when Gerard said that he had talked to the
- 4:51Speaker 4: trainer in quote unquote, it didn't seem that bad. That
- 4:54Speaker 4: was before he was declared that he had a concussion. Yeah, okay,
- 4:58Speaker 4: so I mean I don't. I just don't want to
- 5:00Speaker 4: raise anything Ipecas Yeah, yeah, I know. I'm just I
- 5:04Speaker 4: don't and I don't know. I mean, I've seen plenty
- 5:06Speaker 4: of examples where guys have gotten a concussion and played
- 5:09Speaker 4: the next game, and I've seen plenty where they haven't.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Most of the time they don't.
- 5:13Speaker 4: I would say most of the time they don't.
- 5:15Speaker 9: Statistically it's very high actually that I would agree with.
- 5:19Speaker 3: That, So that would be discouraging. But otherwise, you picked
- 5:23Speaker 3: up your second win. Drake may look good while he
- 5:27Speaker 3: was in there, especially his feet.
- 5:29Speaker 4: Uh.
- 5:29Speaker 3: And then hey, Jacoby came in and did what he
- 5:32Speaker 3: had to do. And probably I heard one person describe
- 5:37Speaker 3: that pass he made to Booty at the end being
- 5:40Speaker 3: the best pass he made in his career. You know,
- 5:42Speaker 3: forget about in the game.
- 5:43Speaker 4: That was Mike Reese. Mike Reese, not a you know,
- 5:47Speaker 4: Johnny cum lately, he's been around a little bit.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Yeah, he had one thing that he said that the
- 5:51Speaker 3: Patriots haven't played in Tennessee since twenty eighteen.
- 5:55Speaker 9: In Tennessee in the regular season.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Oh, in the regular season.
- 5:58Speaker 9: We were there last year, right, right, preseason.
- 6:01Speaker 6: Twenty nineteah, right, yeah, okay, we're just talking about it.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Yeah, in the regular season's about right, yep, yeah, okay,
- 6:09Speaker 3: what else?
- 6:10Speaker 6: What else in the Jets and a tailsman? How about that?
- 6:13Speaker 9: Check will tell you all about it?
- 6:15Speaker 8: I mean, that's that's that's perfect prescient Paul Perillo calling
- 6:18Speaker 8: that one.
- 6:19Speaker 4: Do I get anything to that? Yeah, when you said no,
- 6:21Speaker 4: he won't bring it up, I said, oh no, no.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Oh yeah, you're right, yeah, no, I immediately.
- 6:25Speaker 4: Said and the one what is the one thing he
- 6:27Speaker 4: said about the Patriots?
- 6:29Speaker 9: Good Win by who?
- 6:31Speaker 4: Great drive by who? Who drafted him?
- 6:36Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 6:37Speaker 4: So I and the rest was about that. Now, in
- 6:39Speaker 4: fairness to Bill here, you know we've been I have
- 6:42Speaker 4: been snarky with Bill, but this nationally, this game was
- 6:47Speaker 4: about the Jets nationally, of course, So I understand if
- 6:51Speaker 4: Bill and the shows that he's on are going to
- 6:54Speaker 4: focus more on the Jets. As Mike said, crash and burn,
- 6:57Speaker 4: because it's and let's get I'll give you your flowers me. Yeah,
- 7:02Speaker 4: I'm going to give you your flowers exactly the way you
- 7:05Speaker 4: said it in the summer is exactly what's happened in
- 7:07Speaker 4: the first eight weeks of the Jets season. Hasn't been
- 7:09Speaker 4: about injuries, hasn't been about anything like that. Just hasn't worked.
- 7:13Speaker 4: That just hasn't worked. And Evn said that that it's
- 7:16Speaker 4: not going to work.
- 7:16Speaker 3: They just cannot get out of.
- 7:20Speaker 4: I can be fair.
- 7:21Speaker 6: I don't know why it's just not going to work.
- 7:23Speaker 4: But most people, in all seriousness, I'm joking with you
- 7:26Speaker 4: because I do know that. That's why you said it.
- 7:28Speaker 4: Like most people that said the Jets thing, it's it's
- 7:31Speaker 4: not gonna it was like Rogers will get hurt, they'll
- 7:34Speaker 4: jets it up.
- 7:35Speaker 9: Yeah, like they have jets it up in a different way.
- 7:38Speaker 3: And Rogers is contributing to it. He is huge.
- 7:41Speaker 4: Like I think he's just being.
- 7:43Speaker 3: Difficult to work with when it comes to the coaches
- 7:46Speaker 3: and it reflects in the game and.
- 7:48Speaker 4: He's not playing with.
- 7:50Speaker 5: Quarter.
- 7:51Speaker 3: That's all on Rogers, I think, I really do.
- 7:55Speaker 4: I agree. But to your point about the response, I
- 7:58Speaker 4: thought that's the the key takeaway. Before we started, Fred
- 8:02Speaker 4: looked at the three of us, what's that? What are
- 8:04Speaker 4: we gonna do today? What's our theme today? I think
- 8:06Speaker 4: the theme is they responded I mean it wasn't perfect. No,
- 8:10Speaker 4: you know, the whole definition of soft according to both
- 8:15Speaker 4: Belichick and Mayo, the whole run, the ball stopped to run.
- 8:18Speaker 4: You can make an argument they didn't do great at
- 8:20Speaker 4: those things, but the mental toughness they showed to me
- 8:24Speaker 4: was the That was the response.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Yep.
- 8:26Speaker 8: Yeah, they kept fighting. I mean, like you said, they
- 8:28Speaker 8: gave up plays here and there. But I think just
- 8:31Speaker 8: uh I told him, and I only grinded the defensive tape.
- 8:33Speaker 6: I didn't.
- 8:34Speaker 8: I didn't get to big Shot, my favorite week, No,
- 8:37Speaker 8: but I I just I came away more impressed. I
- 8:39Speaker 8: came away more impressed with Key on White. Maybe I
- 8:41Speaker 8: deserve fred an apology because I think it was a
- 8:42Speaker 8: Freder Matt that had.
- 8:44Speaker 4: Him on that I did not say. No, he gets
- 8:48Speaker 4: a little defensive with his list.
- 8:50Speaker 8: I got a Key on White blind spot, I think
- 8:51Speaker 8: because I I mean, he certainly had, but but he was,
- 8:56Speaker 8: you know, disruptive, and he made some big plays and
- 8:58Speaker 8: some key moments too.
- 8:59Speaker 4: I just I just don't at that play I did
- 9:02Speaker 4: remember at the time, but.
- 9:03Speaker 6: I thought he was good.
- 9:04Speaker 9: He was a rough early yeah, early on, he got edge,
- 9:08Speaker 9: just got pan tight end for the Jets got pancaked
- 9:12Speaker 9: and got lucky that Bristol tripped over their legs. Otherwise
- 9:15Speaker 9: it would have been an eighty yard house call.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Uh.
- 9:18Speaker 9: But then he as a game wre on for ke
- 9:20Speaker 9: On White, I thought the film got better and better,
- 9:22Speaker 9: and he he finished really strong.
- 9:24Speaker 8: Yeah, there's always a couple times against guards during a
- 9:28Speaker 8: game where they just look over matched against him, and
- 9:30Speaker 8: it's you know, not every down, but there's always a
- 9:32Speaker 8: couple that you're like, they miss. I mean, I thought
- 9:36Speaker 8: I thought Jerremy Thumbs was pretty good too.
- 9:37Speaker 9: Yeah, he said had a nice run stuff early on
- 9:40Speaker 9: whim over Tyland Smith, as you know, had some experience.
- 9:43Speaker 8: I know he played against him in We three too,
- 9:45Speaker 8: So uh no, I credit those guys. It's just I
- 9:47Speaker 8: think those are one of the things where watching it,
- 9:50Speaker 8: the live bullets flying, you're not always locked in on
- 9:52Speaker 8: every single guy, and just at least defensively, going back
- 9:55Speaker 8: and looking at it, I felt like they really they competed.
- 9:57Speaker 8: They competed, and and even though there were some bad plays,
- 10:00Speaker 8: they didn't get down on the dumps. They didn't seem
- 10:01Speaker 8: to feel sorry for themselves. They were able to, you know,
- 10:03Speaker 8: bounce back and make it graze.
- 10:05Speaker 3: I mean, they're you know, a couple bad plays, but
- 10:07Speaker 3: when it comes to tackling, but I thought the tackling
- 10:09Speaker 3: was much better the past few games.
- 10:12Speaker 8: And I'd say, like, like Christian Ellis is fast and
- 10:15Speaker 8: that's I mean, that's not much to say about him,
- 10:17Speaker 8: but he's fast and he gets in trouble. But I
- 10:19Speaker 8: think he also, you know, has some some good plays
- 10:21Speaker 8: and coverage where he closes some you know, gaps quickly.
- 10:26Speaker 8: But you know, I think they they got a better
- 10:28Speaker 8: performance wise, showed up a couple you know.
- 10:32Speaker 9: The interior run defense was much better. Yeah, they didn't
- 10:35Speaker 9: get pushed around like they did against the Jaguars. They
- 10:38Speaker 9: still couldn't stop outside runs.
- 10:39Speaker 4: The problem in the first half mostly, but yeah.
- 10:42Speaker 9: Some of those, Godshaw said after the game, and I
- 10:45Speaker 9: thought it was backed up, were like kind of game
- 10:47Speaker 9: planned runs by the Jets to get the ball to
- 10:50Speaker 9: the outside with Hall a couple of times, and they
- 10:53Speaker 9: they really gashed him on some of those outside tosses
- 10:56Speaker 9: and things like that. But the interior run defense Gotshaw
- 11:01Speaker 9: wise Farms even Eric Johnson had a few reps in
- 11:06Speaker 9: there where he was okay, uh, you know, they they
- 11:08Speaker 9: did a much better job on the inside this week.
- 11:11Speaker 9: And I thought Tobay was was better and Jennings is
- 11:14Speaker 9: just good every week against the run. It's it's not
- 11:18Speaker 9: happening on his side of the field, like you know,
- 11:20Speaker 9: that's that's for sure. So I thought they were better
- 11:24Speaker 9: against the run, but the numbers suggest that they weren't great.
- 11:27Speaker 4: Still, they were definitely better though, yeah, yep, I mean
- 11:30Speaker 4: one hundred and thirteen. I mean, I mean they were
- 11:32Speaker 4: so sad last Sometimes you can't just say, like, well,
- 11:35Speaker 4: the numbers don't tell the whole story. I just you know,
- 11:38Speaker 4: to go from one hundred and seventy or so one
- 11:41Speaker 4: hundred and sixty five on average the last five weeks
- 11:43Speaker 4: down to one hundred and thirteen, that's better now.
- 11:46Speaker 3: It's still not like they don't have good running backs.
- 11:48Speaker 4: Well, and he averaged five yards to carry.
- 11:50Speaker 9: So I you know, I shouldn't see wise.
- 11:52Speaker 4: I gave him a half a point, you know what
- 11:53Speaker 4: I mean. It's like if you wanted to say one, two, three,
- 11:56Speaker 4: those three things, I give him half a check. In
- 11:58Speaker 4: stopping the run, they couldn't run the ball, and they
- 12:00Speaker 4: couldn't cover k they improved, they improved stopping the run.
- 12:04Speaker 4: I would agree.
- 12:05Speaker 3: The other news Ouce getting traded to the Chiefs for
- 12:10Speaker 3: twenty twenty six six round pick. What did you think
- 12:14Speaker 3: about that?
- 12:16Speaker 9: Cascratch? And it's on this real quick with Bill, because
- 12:19Speaker 9: usually I let the Bill bashing to Paul, I let
- 12:22Speaker 9: him do that, but go ahead. But Bill goes on
- 12:25Speaker 9: and he says, that's not much for a pretty good
- 12:29Speaker 9: pass rusher. Why do you think that is okay?
- 12:33Speaker 4: Bill?
- 12:33Speaker 9: Who drafted him at the trade deadline last year when
- 12:37Speaker 9: was on an expiring contract and he was scratched from
- 12:40Speaker 9: games last year at the trade deadline because he was
- 12:42Speaker 9: in trade rumors?
- 12:44Speaker 4: What was the offer right?
- 12:46Speaker 9: And what were you doing? Were you locked in? Were
- 12:49Speaker 9: you trying to do what was best for the team
- 12:52Speaker 9: or did you want to win as many games down
- 12:53Speaker 9: the stretch? Like what was it that you were doing
- 12:56Speaker 9: at that point in time, Because if a actual draft
- 12:59Speaker 9: pick was on the table for Joshua Uch that could
- 13:02Speaker 9: have helped the Patriots rebuild this roster this offseason. You
- 13:05Speaker 9: blew it, Yeah, And I just feel like you go
- 13:08Speaker 9: on TV and you say, oh, he's a good, pretty
- 13:10Speaker 9: good player, that's you know, why did you make that trade?
- 13:13Speaker 9: Why didn't you trade him last year when his value
- 13:15Speaker 9: was higher, Bill.
- 13:16Speaker 4: He is a pretty good player in a situational role.
- 13:19Speaker 4: I think he is a decent situational pass rusher. But
- 13:23Speaker 4: that doesn't mean you don't trade him. You know, he's
- 13:26Speaker 4: an expiring contract. You made that mistake, as Evan absolutely
- 13:30Speaker 4: correctly points out, last year, instead of chasing a record,
- 13:34Speaker 4: you should have done what's best for the team and
- 13:36Speaker 4: garnered a draft pick. The other part that Bill said,
- 13:38Speaker 4: I don't know if you caught this, you know it's
- 13:40Speaker 4: a twenty twenty six sixth round pick, because well that's
- 13:44Speaker 4: you know, that's a waste. They were going to get
- 13:46Speaker 4: that anyway. Yeah, in a compic, No, you can't, and
- 13:49Speaker 4: you're not. It's wrong, I think, I mean, according to
- 13:53Speaker 4: the way everybody. I mean, I trust Mike Reese implicitly
- 13:56Speaker 4: with this stuff. And one year, three million dollar guy,
- 14:00Speaker 4: you know now he's already on his set.
- 14:03Speaker 6: I don't think you're gonna get off set by anyone.
- 14:05Speaker 8: They're gonna sign some guys that we are going to
- 14:07Speaker 8: easily offset that contract.
- 14:09Speaker 9: It just rubs me the wrong way because I look,
- 14:11Speaker 9: I don't know for a fact that there were better
- 14:13Speaker 9: offers last year for j But I read back some
- 14:16Speaker 9: of the reporting that was done from people last year,
- 14:19Speaker 9: and it certainly sounded like there was a better offer
- 14:22Speaker 9: than a twenty twenty six sixth round pick or whatever
- 14:25Speaker 9: it was that they got for him. So you know,
- 14:28Speaker 9: this could have been done this time last year and
- 14:31Speaker 9: you might have actually had an asset. But I'm assuming
- 14:33Speaker 9: that Bill didn't give a crap about the asset for
- 14:35Speaker 9: this offseason, right, so, like, you know, they don't make
- 14:38Speaker 9: the trade.
- 14:39Speaker 3: And I just so that said, regardless of what Bill
- 14:42Speaker 3: had to say, do you think they could have gotten
- 14:45Speaker 3: more if they had held out maybe a couple more
- 14:47Speaker 3: days or something like that.
- 14:49Speaker 4: Oh for this year, for this year? No, No, I don't.
- 14:53Speaker 4: I mean I mean maybe maybe, yeah, maybe someone would
- 14:57Speaker 4: have given you one this year, maybe Kansas I don't
- 14:59Speaker 4: I didn't look into it. Maybe Kansas City didn't have one,
- 15:02Speaker 4: or maybe they didn't want Kansas City's this year. Figuring
- 15:05Speaker 4: there seven and ohero it's gonna be. I don't know.
- 15:07Speaker 8: Yeah, It's seemed interesting to me to see how they
- 15:09Speaker 8: how they use them, and how productive he is with Spagnolo.
- 15:12Speaker 8: I mean, he's really respected, really good defensive coordinator. He
- 15:15Speaker 8: knows what he's doing. He's got some great pieces around there,
- 15:17Speaker 8: I mean complimentary pieces when had his big year. I
- 15:20Speaker 8: mean Bill even pointed out he had chewed on across
- 15:22Speaker 8: from when he had his big year, right, so he
- 15:25Speaker 8: can be that finisher that they need against some of
- 15:26Speaker 8: these athletic quarterbacks. I think it's the same kind of
- 15:29Speaker 8: philosophy why the Patriots kind of originally took him trying
- 15:31Speaker 8: to deal with. You know, I think we've seen it
- 15:33Speaker 8: in spurts where he can run down some of those
- 15:35Speaker 8: quarterbacks that are pretty mobile.
- 15:37Speaker 6: Okay, but he's just always been what he was. He's
- 15:39Speaker 6: what he wasn't.
- 15:39Speaker 3: Calledst the run, No can't.
- 15:42Speaker 8: But it's you know, I'm just probably not and he's
- 15:44Speaker 8: probably gonna do the same thing in Kansas City. But
- 15:46Speaker 8: I am curious if Spagnolmo's got anything up asleep with
- 15:49Speaker 8: him where it's you know, a different system and different views.
- 15:53Speaker 3: But if you're a Chiefs fan, you're like, listen, they're
- 15:55Speaker 3: sure doing whatever. They're not sitting, you know, they're undefeated,
- 15:59Speaker 3: but we're not sitting. You know. Still we're trying to,
- 16:02Speaker 3: you know, make that run.
- 16:03Speaker 4: So I'd be very surprised. I'd be very surprised if
- 16:06Speaker 4: he didn't contribute. I don't think he's gonna go in
- 16:08Speaker 4: there and be like this whirlwind put you over this.
- 16:12Speaker 4: But that's a team that's gonna play with the lead
- 16:14Speaker 4: more often than not. Mike brought up the you know
- 16:18Speaker 4: you're thinking about the playoffs, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, C. J. Stroud.
- 16:22Speaker 4: You know, mobile quarterbacks that can make play some place.
- 16:25Speaker 4: He's an athlete that can run with those guys.
- 16:28Speaker 3: You think anybody else might be unloaded before the deadline,
- 16:32Speaker 3: which is Tuesday, right, yep?
- 16:34Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean tough.
- 16:35Speaker 8: I mean Jonathan Jones banged up. I mean I might
- 16:37Speaker 8: throw him in the mix, but I think he's he's
- 16:39Speaker 8: been hurt. I think he's hard to move right now.
- 16:41Speaker 4: I don't think well, I don't think that they want
- 16:43Speaker 4: to move him either. I think that he's a pretty
- 16:45Speaker 4: pretty important guy for what they're trying to do.
- 16:47Speaker 9: Locker room guy.
- 16:48Speaker 4: Yeah, maybe kJ Osborne.
- 16:51Speaker 9: Yeah, I was gonna say one of the receivers, one.
- 16:53Speaker 4: Of the receivers in Osborne to me would be at
- 16:54Speaker 4: the top of the list.
- 16:56Speaker 3: You think you'd do a more impactful thing if the
- 16:58Speaker 3: if the tray, if the draft pick you're getting in return,
- 17:02Speaker 3: was big enough. Like you know, we mentioned Keon White.
- 17:05Speaker 3: He's a guy that maybe a lot of teams say
- 17:07Speaker 3: have a bright future. But maybe you're willing to give
- 17:10Speaker 3: up a second round pick for him.
- 17:13Speaker 4: You know, I would do that in a blink.
- 17:15Speaker 3: But I don't you would.
- 17:15Speaker 4: I don't think I would.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Question.
- 17:17Speaker 4: I don't know if I would. Anyone's given you a
- 17:18Speaker 4: second round pick for that?
- 17:20Speaker 3: Really? Why because he's got a bright, big upside, then
- 17:25Speaker 3: keep them, That's what I'm saying. I don't think I
- 17:27Speaker 3: would do it.
- 17:28Speaker 4: But like, yeah, I mean, I don't think they have
- 17:30Speaker 4: any interest in training key On White. I think he's
- 17:32Speaker 4: a guy that they figured will be part of their future. Yeah,
- 17:35Speaker 4: but I mean the second round pick.
- 17:38Speaker 6: Yeah, I think two.
- 17:39Speaker 8: You're just so desperate for talented players. He drafted one.
- 17:41Speaker 8: You're developing him.
- 17:43Speaker 6: Yeah, don't don't get rid of him. Now, keep your drafting, developing,
- 17:46Speaker 6: keep doing it.
- 17:47Speaker 4: I like the thought, though, Freddy, Yeah, different, it's a
- 17:50Speaker 4: different surprise one.
- 17:51Speaker 9: I would say, just if they're a surprise one, like
- 17:54Speaker 9: maybe one of the guards, like they have like seventeen guards.
- 17:57Speaker 9: They don't need them all, you know, I don't.
- 17:59Speaker 4: Know, it seems like they have needed them all this year.
- 18:01Speaker 9: Yeah, but I don't know if they haven't any real value.
- 18:04Speaker 9: But he's injured now, so it complicates things. But like
- 18:07Speaker 9: a cold strange or city so or like one of
- 18:09Speaker 9: those players that you know, you have Onenhu, you have
- 18:13Speaker 9: Jordan who's played pretty well for you, you have Leyden Robinson,
- 18:16Speaker 9: there's a recent draft pick. Like how many of these
- 18:18Speaker 9: guards are really gonna factor into their future plans on
- 18:22Speaker 9: the offensive line, Like you really only need one backup
- 18:25Speaker 9: and you know you have four or five of them.
- 18:26Speaker 4: I don't like it, though, Fred outside the box, sure,
- 18:29Speaker 4: you know, yeah, I don't think I agree with the boys.
- 18:31Speaker 4: I don't think that they would have any interest in
- 18:33Speaker 4: trading a guy like Keon White. But it's easy to
- 18:35Speaker 4: come up with veteran guy expiring contract. We all know
- 18:39Speaker 4: all those names, right, that would be one that would
- 18:42Speaker 4: be certainly different.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Yep.
- 18:45Speaker 4: Okay, So.
- 18:48Speaker 3: Jets win. I think it was a big win for
- 18:52Speaker 3: the team. They're not going anywhere in terms of turning
- 18:55Speaker 3: the record around or playoffs, forget about that.
- 18:57Speaker 4: I just think the day in terms of just.
- 19:00Speaker 3: Re establishing the program and you know, getting a little
- 19:04Speaker 3: bit of confidence back for Gerardmeo and the players in validation. Yeah, validation.
- 19:09Speaker 3: I think I think it was a big win. And uh,
- 19:12Speaker 3: you said before the show that was a big yard.
- 19:14Speaker 3: It was a big yard, you know, for for Stevenson.
- 19:17Speaker 4: You know, And I think that you know, it's funny
- 19:19Speaker 4: because it's all perception, right. I think everything that we're
- 19:22Speaker 4: talking about that we liked about the game in terms
- 19:25Speaker 4: of their mental fortitude and you know, their response and handling,
- 19:30Speaker 4: sort of the noise of the week all happened over
- 19:34Speaker 4: the first you know, fifty nine minutes and forty seconds.
- 19:37Speaker 4: If they didn't get the yard and it was close,
- 19:40Speaker 4: I mean they looked at it right, Yeah, But perception wise,
- 19:44Speaker 4: it would be so different if they did all of
- 19:46Speaker 4: that and lost again, all the talk would be can
- 19:50Speaker 4: they get up off the mat? You know, and they
- 19:52Speaker 4: poured a lot out they you know, they emptied the
- 19:54Speaker 4: bucket in that, you know, emotionally, the backup quarterback comes
- 19:58Speaker 4: in and plays. I think that by far the best
- 20:01Speaker 4: game he's played this year. Yeah, per set, they can
- 20:05Speaker 4: they rebound from that. It's just so much different perception wise.
- 20:08Speaker 3: Are you surprised at how the Jets attacked per set?
- 20:11Speaker 3: Like they really didn't like send the house.
- 20:14Speaker 4: You know, and they didn't really butz him until the
- 20:16Speaker 4: last drive.
- 20:16Speaker 9: Yeah, last drive, they came after him a little bit.
- 20:20Speaker 9: I want to give a VP a little bit of flowers,
- 20:24Speaker 9: because if we're gonna kill him when they're down, then
- 20:27Speaker 9: I sure when they have a good games, we should
- 20:29Speaker 9: give him some praise. He's getting better at it, like
- 20:33Speaker 9: you can tell in the games that he's getting better
- 20:36Speaker 9: at you know, calling the right calls at the right
- 20:40Speaker 9: times and timing things up to the coverages and attacking
- 20:43Speaker 9: tendencies and things of that nature. I thought that last
- 20:47Speaker 9: couple of weeks really he deserves credit to for for Drake,
- 20:51Speaker 9: Like Drake May has been ready to play three weeks
- 20:54Speaker 9: in a row. They've had him ready to play. He
- 20:57Speaker 9: knows what he's looking at, he knows what they're asking
- 20:59Speaker 9: of him. He's making plays. He's head coach offense, and
- 21:04Speaker 9: you know, Drake May's development is his purview. Also, getting Jacoby,
- 21:08Speaker 9: you know, ready to be the backup is his purview too.
- 21:10Speaker 9: So they're run out. Their rushing attack is still dreadful, frankly,
- 21:16Speaker 9: but the passing game has gotten a lot better.
- 21:18Speaker 4: Doesn't it seem like so long ago that they were
- 21:21Speaker 4: racking up like one hundred and seventy yards on the ground.
- 21:24Speaker 6: Oh yeah those the first game.
- 21:25Speaker 4: They had, first couple.
- 21:27Speaker 9: Yeah, they had minus thirty one yards before contact in
- 21:31Speaker 9: this game, negative thirty one. That is that's hard to
- 21:35Speaker 9: do like that.
- 21:36Speaker 4: That is answer your question as to why stephensenter right, yeah, yeah,
- 21:41Speaker 4: right on them. I mean he's getting hit every time
- 21:43Speaker 4: he gets Yeah, I mean he had seven force missed
- 21:46Speaker 4: tackles in this game and twenty four yards after contact,
- 21:50Speaker 4: you know, above expectations.
- 21:53Speaker 9: So like you're looking at Remandre just any of the
- 21:56Speaker 9: running yards that they got were either Drake may or Remandre.
- 21:59Speaker 4: Just maybe something in the field.
- 22:02Speaker 9: Yeah. So they can't run block, that's a big concern.
- 22:05Speaker 9: But their past protection has been better and their scheming.
- 22:08Speaker 9: I think in the.
- 22:08Speaker 3: Past myself game yeah, right, one day I can't drive
- 22:12Speaker 3: and I can put next day my short game stinks,
- 22:14Speaker 3: but then I can drive.
- 22:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:16Speaker 3: You know, now all of a sudden they can pass
- 22:17Speaker 3: protect okay, and now they can't run block.
- 22:19Speaker 4: Yeah, because it's definitely been better in protection. Yeah, that's
- 22:23Speaker 4: why I put it on. It was one of the
- 22:24Speaker 4: things I on my good list for the week. I
- 22:27Speaker 4: kind of blew it off a little bit in the
- 22:29Speaker 4: Jacksonville game because I didn't really think it was that
- 22:31Speaker 4: much better. It was just so much better than it
- 22:34Speaker 4: had been. But I think Jacksonville doesn't really get after
- 22:37Speaker 4: the passer at all. I still thought the numbers were
- 22:39Speaker 4: reasonably high. But this game, the Jets can get after
- 22:43Speaker 4: the passer a little bit. They killed them with it
- 22:46Speaker 4: in the first game. Now, I don't know how much
- 22:48Speaker 4: of that is the Jets maybe outthought themselves a little
- 22:50Speaker 4: bit and said, well, we sent all those all that
- 22:53Speaker 4: pressure at them the first time, they're going to be
- 22:55Speaker 4: more prepared for it. We're not going to do it
- 22:57Speaker 4: this time. I don't know if they kind of, you know,
- 22:59Speaker 4: they know what we we know. Maybe they they would themselves.
- 23:04Speaker 4: But the pass protection was better. I mean, those guys
- 23:07Speaker 4: did a better job, I thought. Bill. One of the
- 23:10Speaker 4: things that Bill pointed out that I think was valid
- 23:13Speaker 4: was Thesan Reddick, you know, doing the Chris Slade chasing
- 23:18Speaker 4: cars behind the.
- 23:18Speaker 3: Course Chicago been a possible destination for Bill Belichick.
- 23:23Speaker 6: After out the Chicago.
- 23:27Speaker 4: After I hadn't heard that cornerback wouldn't have been taunting
- 23:32Speaker 4: the fans.
- 23:33Speaker 3: I'm just saying that that wouldn't have happened. That's a
- 23:36Speaker 3: place where got the quarterback go in.
- 23:40Speaker 8: That works, Like he hits that bomb and that's what
- 23:43Speaker 8: they're and like we Patriots get in like one play,
- 23:47Speaker 8: like one play kind of it's like deflected to a
- 23:49Speaker 8: guy in the back of the end zone.
- 23:50Speaker 6: You know, like just he just everything, you know.
- 23:53Speaker 3: Even the way he created time.
- 23:55Speaker 6: Oh yeah, I was trying to take car away from him.
- 23:58Speaker 4: I'm a great play by Daniels. I don't know if
- 24:00Speaker 4: you guys watched any of that, like before, just the
- 24:02Speaker 4: highlight of the Hail Mary kind of a month. The
- 24:04Speaker 4: fourth quarter was an incredible football. It was really good.
- 24:08Speaker 4: Like Washington probably should have won the game by three
- 24:10Speaker 4: touchdowns prior to that because Chicago couldn't do anything offensively.
- 24:14Speaker 4: Then all of a sudden they couldn't be Like Caleb
- 24:17Speaker 4: Williams just caught fire in the fourth quarter. They had
- 24:19Speaker 4: the long run at the end of the third quarter
- 24:21Speaker 4: by Swift and then they got all the way down
- 24:23Speaker 4: there to take the lead twice, and they tried to
- 24:28Speaker 4: hand the ball off to a lineman who dropped it. Yeah,
- 24:31Speaker 4: that wasn't a great handoff, and fairness to the lineman.
- 24:35Speaker 4: I don't think Williams did a really good job of
- 24:37Speaker 4: giving the ball, but they fumbled inside the two yard
- 24:40Speaker 4: line yep. And then you're like, oh, they had a
- 24:42Speaker 4: chance to steal this game. Nope, they stopped him and
- 24:45Speaker 4: went right back down the field, and Williams made some
- 24:48Speaker 4: really really good plays to do it, and I thought
- 24:51Speaker 4: that was going to be like kind of a defining
- 24:53Speaker 4: win for him, and then all of a sudden they
- 24:55Speaker 4: came up by al Mary, which was amazing.
- 24:58Speaker 9: Can we normalize not backing off on Hail Mary's, Like,
- 25:04Speaker 9: I just they like two man three man rushes that
- 25:08Speaker 9: you see on Hail Mary's.
- 25:09Speaker 4: The rush so stupid, it's ridiculous.
- 25:11Speaker 9: Like you got the quarterback. I saw it on Sunday
- 25:14Speaker 9: Night Football at Jayden Daniels had twelve seconds almost thirteen.
- 25:17Speaker 4: It was like twelve yeah, nine to.
- 25:19Speaker 9: Run around back there, like can you blitz them or
- 25:21Speaker 9: something like you just you don't have to put everybody
- 25:24Speaker 9: in the end.
- 25:25Speaker 3: Two things, the ineligible man downfield rule is still an
- 25:29Speaker 3: effect on a Hail Mary, right, Yeah, so you don't
- 25:31Speaker 3: have to, like you said, you don't have to do
- 25:33Speaker 3: it that way.
- 25:34Speaker 4: The defense, it just does have to do with intelligible
- 25:37Speaker 4: men down field.
- 25:38Speaker 3: Well, it's not like you can have guys down there
- 25:41Speaker 3: able to catch the ball.
- 25:42Speaker 9: Yeah yeah, yeah, right, because you're always talking only five
- 25:46Speaker 9: eligible receivers, right right, So can we have one, you know,
- 25:49Speaker 9: six or guys down there instead of everybody or seven entirely?
- 25:54Speaker 4: What I would do, I would either do what Evan's
- 25:55Speaker 4: talking about now would I don't know if you guys
- 25:58Speaker 4: saw the week before, Probably you don't because I'm the
- 26:00Speaker 4: only one that cares about this crap. But Detroit, Minnesota
- 26:03Speaker 4: had a similar situation the prior week. It's about Midfield
- 26:06Speaker 4: Minnesota's got uh hail Mary. They went after him and
- 26:10Speaker 4: they ended up sacking them. You know, they sent more
- 26:12Speaker 4: than they could block and they got them right. And
- 26:15Speaker 4: I think their theory is the very.
- 26:16Speaker 3: Least, you're not going to have a good base in
- 26:18Speaker 3: which to throw it at eighty.
- 26:19Speaker 9: But the receiver receivers also need the time to get.
- 26:22Speaker 4: They need time to get down there. Jill said, I'm
- 26:25Speaker 4: not giving him time to get down there. And I
- 26:26Speaker 4: think Fred's point is really valid. Who can throw the
- 26:30Speaker 4: ball with the guy hanging on him sixty five yards
- 26:34Speaker 4: like Jayden Daniels did. He didn't have to throw it
- 26:36Speaker 4: with a guy hanging on him because they only rushed three.
- 26:39Speaker 4: Now here's what I really don't understand about that play
- 26:42Speaker 4: rush Like, to me, either rush nobody and put all
- 26:45Speaker 4: eleven guys in the end zone, or play it conventionally.
- 26:49Speaker 4: What the Bears did is they rushed three guys with
- 26:52Speaker 4: a spy. What is the spy doing? Did you see that?
- 26:57Speaker 3: I didn't notice that they had, Like, you know, Casey
- 26:59Speaker 3: takes off and then then what then he can't catch him? Well,
- 27:04Speaker 3: you got the Miami miracle.
- 27:07Speaker 4: Make make them do it that way if they want,
- 27:09Speaker 4: don't you know? Like I just didn't really understand the
- 27:12Speaker 4: idea of we're only going to rush three and we're
- 27:14Speaker 4: going to keep a spy in case Daniels gets out
- 27:17Speaker 4: of the pocket like he was, like Evan said, thirteen
- 27:20Speaker 4: It was almost thirteen seconds he bought on that.
- 27:22Speaker 6: Play rush five one on one across that would.
- 27:25Speaker 4: Just come after him. I might even send an extra guy.
- 27:28Speaker 9: It depends on where you are on the field. Because
- 27:30Speaker 9: a couple of years ago, it's probably a lot of
- 27:32Speaker 9: years ago now, but Greg Williams famously sent the House
- 27:36Speaker 9: in a similar situation and they just had a one
- 27:39Speaker 9: on one on the outside, and the guy threw a
- 27:41Speaker 9: go ball for a game winning touchdown and it burned.
- 27:44Speaker 9: He ran cover zero and it burns.
- 27:46Speaker 4: Oh was it a hill Mary or is it?
- 27:48Speaker 9: I can't remember exactly where they were on the field, right,
- 27:51Speaker 9: Like that's the difference. Like, if they're in, you know,
- 27:55Speaker 9: on the other side of the fifty, even if it's
- 27:56Speaker 9: just inside the fifty, then most quarterbacks can make that throw.
- 28:00Speaker 9: But once you start to get to like, you know,
- 28:01Speaker 9: a sixty plus yard bomb, that's when he said, Like, if.
- 28:05Speaker 4: It's a situation where you can just have him throw
- 28:07Speaker 4: it up and he can catch it at like the
- 28:09Speaker 4: thirty and run the thirty yards, then you can't do it.
- 28:12Speaker 4: But if the guy needs to get the ball to
- 28:14Speaker 4: the end zone and you you do what Detroit did.
- 28:18Speaker 4: I just don't see what Sam Donald can possibly do.
- 28:21Speaker 4: I don't know how he can get that pass off.
- 28:23Speaker 3: Speaking of the Lions, are they the best team in
- 28:25Speaker 3: the end NFL right now?
- 28:26Speaker 4: And they're playing the best So I have a little
- 28:30Speaker 4: little observation. I'm curious with you guys, think all three
- 28:34Speaker 4: of you you've been watching some of the stuff that
- 28:36Speaker 4: the Lions have been doing the last few weeks.
- 28:38Speaker 6: He's got a little trolling.
- 28:40Speaker 4: Two thousand and seven, Bill Belichi vibe.
- 28:42Speaker 3: To it, like where Dan Skipper, Yeah, we're having too
- 28:44Speaker 3: much fun. Yeah.
- 28:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:47Speaker 9: Montgomery threw a touchdown pass.
- 28:48Speaker 4: Montgomery threw a touchdown pass. They kicked a fifty one
- 28:51Speaker 4: yard field goal to make it fifty two to fourteen. Yeah,
- 28:55Speaker 4: you know stuff like you know, like almost like Joe
- 28:58Speaker 4: Gibbs is coaching the other team. You know, we got
- 29:01Speaker 4: some kind of forty year old actra grind. It just
- 29:04Speaker 4: seems to me that Dan Campbell is out of poops
- 29:08Speaker 4: to give and he's look, he's looking to win these
- 29:10Speaker 4: games as impressively.
- 29:11Speaker 8: I set it off the ineligible receiver thing that they
- 29:14Speaker 8: did with Skipper right last year, that that was the
- 29:16Speaker 8: whole thing. Like I get that's why they were initially
- 29:18Speaker 8: kind of felt wronged by the league. But has there
- 29:20Speaker 8: been something else that they like that.
- 29:21Speaker 4: I don't know, but they've started with the Dallas, But.
- 29:23Speaker 6: I've seen what you're talking about. That's why have a
- 29:25Speaker 6: lot of.
- 29:26Speaker 9: They have a lot of trick plays in their bag,
- 29:28Speaker 9: and they're not afraid to use them. They're very tricky,
- 29:31Speaker 9: Like Johnson's just a douche. Yeah, but I.
- 29:34Speaker 4: Wonder if like it's I don't know this, I don't
- 29:37Speaker 4: cover the Lions, but I'm just looking at it. I
- 29:39Speaker 4: believe that they're trying to do these trick plays in
- 29:43Speaker 4: an effort to run the score up.
- 29:44Speaker 9: Yeah, the touchdown was definitely I was like, okay, this
- 29:49Speaker 9: is a little much.
- 29:49Speaker 4: I mean they had they had the touchdown pass back
- 29:52Speaker 4: to Golf I think like two weeks ago, you know now,
- 29:55Speaker 4: and then you say that, and then at the same time,
- 29:58Speaker 4: like Jared Goff threw for eighty five yards in that game.
- 30:00Speaker 8: That's what I was going to say, Paul. It kind
- 30:01Speaker 8: of feels that the Lions are an anti Perillo team.
- 30:04Speaker 8: They don't throw well, they just run and they score
- 30:06Speaker 8: fifty points.
- 30:07Speaker 4: Well, this game, they just decided to let their punt return.
- 30:10Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 30:10Speaker 4: They had like two hundred and sixty something yards of
- 30:13Speaker 4: returns in this game.
- 30:15Speaker 9: They had five drives start inside the Tennessee twenty six
- 30:19Speaker 9: card line, right, four turnovers by the Times, two big returns.
- 30:23Speaker 9: I obviously am I'm reading my pre you for the Titans.
- 30:26Speaker 4: I think they were three big returns they had. I mean,
- 30:28Speaker 4: you're not counting the touchdown.
- 30:30Speaker 9: The punt return and the kickoff return.
- 30:32Speaker 4: They had two punt returns of over fifty yards. I
- 30:34Speaker 4: believe they had one hundred and ninety yards of punt returns. Yeah,
- 30:37Speaker 4: in this same I still.
- 30:38Speaker 6: Think it's an anti Parlo game though, all special teams
- 30:41Speaker 6: in credit game.
- 30:42Speaker 4: Oh absolutely.
- 30:43Speaker 9: But even like when you look at the Titans defense
- 30:45Speaker 9: and the Lions offense in that game, it like, wasn't
- 30:48Speaker 9: that bad for the Titans defense. They're just getting twenty
- 30:51Speaker 9: They literally get the ball at the twelve yard line, Like,
- 30:53Speaker 9: what do you want the defense to do?
- 30:54Speaker 4: It's like force a field goal? But no, they I'm
- 30:58Speaker 4: just kidding.
- 30:59Speaker 9: They have our twenty fourth defense.
- 31:02Speaker 4: And they are number one in defense period. Yeah that's deceiving, right,
- 31:06Speaker 4: well I assume, but like they're ninth and DVA, so
- 31:09Speaker 4: they're they're the other team gets the ball on such
- 31:11Speaker 4: short fields, right, but yards wise, But that doesn't explain
- 31:14Speaker 4: at all. That explains the game Sunday. Yeah, like they
- 31:17Speaker 4: get fifty two points and yeah, I mean I'm just
- 31:21Speaker 4: looking at it.
- 31:22Speaker 9: Two points.
- 31:24Speaker 4: It's twenty four carries for one hundred and sixty four yards,
- 31:27Speaker 4: Like that's that's you know, good ground production. But it
- 31:30Speaker 4: was one seventy yard run, you know, to go the
- 31:33Speaker 4: whole Democras Covington route and Chared Goff is twelve or
- 31:36Speaker 4: fifteen for eighty five yards, so you know, no three touchdowns. Statistically,
- 31:43Speaker 4: did the number one ranked defense in football yards wise,
- 31:46Speaker 4: yards wise and pass yards, which to me is far
- 31:48Speaker 4: more Yeah, wouldn't. I just look at it, and you
- 31:54Speaker 4: better be ready to not, you know, to try to
- 31:57Speaker 4: take the ball away because I don't think you're going
- 31:59Speaker 4: to mount a lot of based on these stats. The
- 32:02Speaker 4: number one and you know they turned the ball minus
- 32:04Speaker 4: thirteen yeah, turnal ratio.
- 32:06Speaker 9: Yeah. I mean the advanced metrics really like their defense too.
- 32:09Speaker 9: They're ninth in DVA. They're top what twelve in EPA
- 32:15Speaker 9: right as well, and like their their defenses are really exotic,
- 32:18Speaker 9: like they it's hard to identify exactly what they're doing
- 32:21Speaker 9: in the back end some of the time. And they
- 32:24Speaker 9: have a good defense. It just they've been put in
- 32:27Speaker 9: some really tough spots. They're not very good in the
- 32:29Speaker 9: red zone. They had they're twenty fourth in the red zone.
- 32:31Speaker 9: So to Paul's point, they don't they don't force a
- 32:33Speaker 9: lot of field goals when they get the ball at
- 32:35Speaker 9: the twenty yard line, but a lot of it is
- 32:38Speaker 9: not on on the defense.
- 32:39Speaker 6: It sounds like don't get a lot of takeaways either.
- 32:42Speaker 3: All right, eight five to five pass five hundred is
- 32:44Speaker 3: the TPX hotline podcasts at Patriots dot com. Is the
- 32:48Speaker 3: email address? Anything else before we open it up?
- 32:51Speaker 9: Good for Jacoby?
- 32:52Speaker 3: Yeah, yep, good for Jacoby, yep, really good?
- 32:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 32:55Speaker 3: Yeah. Let's go to Mike and Vermont. What's up, Mike.
- 33:01Speaker 10: How are you guys doing today?
- 33:03Speaker 3: We're doing great.
- 33:05Speaker 10: My thing is why did the rest call?
- 33:07Speaker 4: How much the helmet on May?
- 33:11Speaker 3: I thought it was a good non call. Honestly, I
- 33:13Speaker 3: thought May went into a slide light. I don't think
- 33:16Speaker 3: there was any way that the defender could have held up,
- 33:20Speaker 3: So I wasn't like.
- 33:21Speaker 4: Oh my god, they could have been could have been
- 33:23Speaker 4: it could It.
- 33:25Speaker 3: Was definitely helmet to helmet contact, no doubt.
- 33:27Speaker 4: No doubt.
- 33:28Speaker 3: But I don't know.
- 33:29Speaker 9: I had no problem with the non flag for the
- 33:32Speaker 9: reasons you're talking about. It probably was helmet to helmet. Oh,
- 33:35Speaker 9: but it wasn't a late hit on the court, right, No.
- 33:37Speaker 4: And I would also say that I think it's pretty
- 33:40Speaker 4: rare thanks to see helmet to helmet hits with established
- 33:44Speaker 4: ball carriers, like you see it on the defenseless receiver,
- 33:47Speaker 4: and you certainly see it in the pocket with the quarterback.
- 33:50Speaker 4: But when the quarterback runs, I mean, he had already
- 33:53Speaker 4: run seventeen yards for a touchdown. Now he's in the
- 33:56Speaker 4: midst of an eighteen yard run. You got to treat
- 34:00Speaker 4: him like a runner. I think that's probably you mentioned
- 34:02Speaker 4: this Sunday, Freddy, maybe a little lesson well, you know
- 34:06Speaker 4: what you can get and get down.
- 34:08Speaker 3: My thing on pap was very filtered. My little thing
- 34:11Speaker 3: that I do on that show was talking about you know,
- 34:15Speaker 3: I'm not saying get rid of the slide rule, but
- 34:17Speaker 3: I think these teams need to start coaching their quarterbacks
- 34:20Speaker 3: to be a little bit more aggressive and not rely
- 34:23Speaker 3: on the slide rule to protect you.
- 34:24Speaker 4: And I think they also and I don't know how to.
- 34:26Speaker 4: I don't know. I have no idea how that this
- 34:28Speaker 4: would be incorporated. But these quarterbacks are getting really good
- 34:33Speaker 4: at it. You know, that's sort of I'm gonna go
- 34:36Speaker 4: out of bounds maybe like Mahomes did a couple of
- 34:39Speaker 4: weeks ago, and then you tip down the sideline. You
- 34:42Speaker 4: should get blasted. You but it's so hard because aren't
- 34:46Speaker 4: you surprised that that wasn't a penalty on Sunday when
- 34:49Speaker 4: you saw that live, didn't you think the helmet? Yeah?
- 34:51Speaker 6: I was.
- 34:52Speaker 4: I'm not asking you if you thought it should have.
- 34:53Speaker 3: No, I wasn't surprised.
- 34:55Speaker 4: I was. I was really surprised. And I'll bet you
- 34:57Speaker 4: if you know not to go all Patriots Homer here,
- 35:00Speaker 4: I bet you if it was Mahomes, it would have. Yeah,
- 35:02Speaker 4: Josh Allen wouldn't have got that cooled down, but Mahomes
- 35:05Speaker 4: would have.
- 35:05Speaker 6: The whole slide itself is just so taugh.
- 35:07Speaker 4: It's so late, and I don't know how the defender
- 35:09Speaker 4: is supposed to determine as he's coming full blast that
- 35:13Speaker 4: he's going down.
- 35:15Speaker 9: The only thing he literally just ran through three guys
- 35:20Speaker 9: to break a tackle to get to get to that point.
- 35:23Speaker 9: The Drake May and we were talking about a little
- 35:25Speaker 9: bit in the in the press box about getting used
- 35:27Speaker 9: to a mobile quarterback. Yeah, and I have some tough
- 35:32Speaker 9: times determining whether I like it or I don't like
- 35:35Speaker 9: It's really like the seventeen yard touchdown.
- 35:37Speaker 4: It this isn't the day. This isn't the day for it.
- 35:40Speaker 4: Because it was a great win. I could have a
- 35:43Speaker 4: two hour show about how much I liked the first
- 35:46Speaker 4: quarter plus in his development as opposed to the previous
- 35:50Speaker 4: two games.
- 35:50Speaker 6: Really, yeah, that's interesting.
- 35:52Speaker 4: I think everything they did offensively that was positive was
- 35:55Speaker 4: him scrambling.
- 35:56Speaker 3: Oh yeah right, It just there's so much have been
- 35:58Speaker 3: that big throat of booty if he hadn't dropped it.
- 36:01Speaker 4: Thornton, Yeah, Thornton. But yeah, sorry, right, even that was
- 36:04Speaker 4: kind of I mean, that was a great throw, but
- 36:06Speaker 4: that was school yard but broke containing he's running around.
- 36:09Speaker 3: Oh but that was the kind of thing that we said, Oh,
- 36:12Speaker 3: he's going to be able to do.
- 36:13Speaker 4: That, and I love it, and I love it. I
- 36:15Speaker 4: love the athleticism. Yeah, I don't say that as a negative,
- 36:19Speaker 4: but yeah, I kind of liked more, you know, the
- 36:22Speaker 4: conventional stuff. I thought that the Ville first quarter, like
- 36:27Speaker 4: he can move, he moved around, he bought some time
- 36:30Speaker 4: and that, but he also like so I thought he
- 36:32Speaker 4: was seeing it really well from the pocket. Maybe he
- 36:34Speaker 4: did in this game too. I didn't love the first
- 36:37Speaker 4: third down throw.
- 36:38Speaker 3: Not everyone could be Vince Ferragama.
- 36:39Speaker 4: I thought he saw great point.
- 36:42Speaker 9: I thought he saw the field pretty well. But like
- 36:47Speaker 9: you just you don't want to be nitpicky when you
- 36:49Speaker 9: when you're watching the film, because there are times where
- 36:51Speaker 9: you're like, well, if you'd stayed in the pocket, like
- 36:53Speaker 9: he probably could have just made this throw instead of running.
- 36:56Speaker 9: But then he runs for a seventeen yard touchdown and
- 36:58Speaker 9: you're like, Wells said, yeah, and I.
- 37:01Speaker 4: Totally agree with that. And I get back to the
- 37:03Speaker 4: Belichick criticism of the Jets pass rush. I thought they
- 37:06Speaker 4: gave him those those lanes. I didn't think it was taken.
- 37:08Speaker 4: He didn't have to be Houdini to get out of
- 37:10Speaker 4: the pocket. I think, you know the seas parted.
- 37:13Speaker 9: Yeah, that was some of the blitzing stuff we were
- 37:15Speaker 9: talking about earlier. I think you know they came into
- 37:17Speaker 9: this game from a game plan standpoint. It's you can't
- 37:20Speaker 9: blitz them, Like it's it's much harder to blitz him
- 37:23Speaker 9: than it is to butch Jacoby, right, So it might
- 37:25Speaker 9: not have been in their game plan to blitz a lot.
- 37:29Speaker 4: We talked about that. Yeah, you know, how much different
- 37:32Speaker 4: was the game plan because of may as opposed to
- 37:34Speaker 4: present Now. I would if I were the Jets, I
- 37:37Speaker 4: would have heeded him up and see if he could
- 37:39Speaker 4: handle it first, and then backed off. Yeah, but they
- 37:43Speaker 4: chose to do it the other way.
- 37:44Speaker 3: Jacob and Illinois writes in it continues to boggle my
- 37:47Speaker 3: mind how winning a game can cause so much division
- 37:50Speaker 3: in this league. The amount of comments I've seen on
- 37:52Speaker 3: social media saying the season is lost and everyone needs
- 37:55Speaker 3: to be fired into the sun because May got hurt
- 37:58Speaker 3: is rage inducing.
- 37:59Speaker 4: Who said that?
- 38:00Speaker 3: I don't know, is this a straw man email?
- 38:03Speaker 4: Didn't hit? I got an a SPFW from one person
- 38:06Speaker 4: who I'm not even sure he was entitly serious, but
- 38:09Speaker 4: I have not really heard that.
- 38:10Speaker 3: Now, this isn't a huge set back if TUA is
- 38:13Speaker 3: any metric to measure by, and we should be rejoicing
- 38:16Speaker 3: that we rained on the New England New Jersey Packers parade.
- 38:20Speaker 3: Whether it's Brisset or May wins the good so let's
- 38:22Speaker 3: be happy about them. Should be as hard as shop
- 38:25Speaker 3: at Bob's Discount Furniture.
- 38:27Speaker 11: U p s.
- 38:28Speaker 3: Any of you watch games and lament your picks and
- 38:30Speaker 3: spread standings as they.
- 38:32Speaker 6: Yes, definitely this week, Definitely this week.
- 38:35Speaker 9: I'm going to be honest, I kind of forget I
- 38:37Speaker 9: was going to say.
- 38:39Speaker 3: Who I picked.
- 38:40Speaker 6: I write it down, and then.
- 38:43Speaker 4: Sometimes I remember the like there's always a game or
- 38:46Speaker 4: two that I picked differently than everybody else, and I
- 38:49Speaker 4: remember that particularly game, But in general terms, I don't
- 38:52Speaker 4: remember who I picked, and I have noticed a lot,
- 38:55Speaker 4: especially lately, I picked different on Thursday, and then sometimes
- 38:59Speaker 4: that those games are in the six pack, Like I
- 39:01Speaker 4: picked the Eagles in the six pack and I picked
- 39:03Speaker 4: the Bengals on Thursday. Now, I didn't know that t
- 39:06Speaker 4: Higgins wasn't going to play, and that impacted my my
- 39:09Speaker 4: Sunday pick.
- 39:09Speaker 9: But I also just wonder with the back to the emailer,
- 39:14Speaker 9: sorry for a second, but football, like, what what are
- 39:19Speaker 9: they tanking for this year?
- 39:22Speaker 4: I don't think anybody anybody who were they taking. That's
- 39:26Speaker 4: what I said.
- 39:26Speaker 9: So last year. If you embrace the tank for the quarterback,
- 39:31Speaker 9: then I totally understand. But they picked the quarterback and
- 39:35Speaker 9: we all think that he looks pretty good and it's
- 39:37Speaker 9: trending in the right direction.
- 39:38Speaker 4: That gives you freedom, So they don't need.
- 39:40Speaker 9: Another quarterback, So we're tanking for for Travis Hunter.
- 39:44Speaker 4: I haven't heard it. Maybe I'm just not listening to
- 39:47Speaker 4: the right people. I haven't heard people be upset with winning.
- 39:51Speaker 4: I haven't heard people say lose as many.
- 39:52Speaker 11: Games on your show for the draft pick, that's Felger. No,
- 39:57Speaker 11: the callers, but they really you've fallen for it. You're
- 40:01Speaker 11: falling for it. He's inventing it. No, they're not calling
- 40:04Speaker 11: in saying that on any consistent basis. He picks the
- 40:07Speaker 11: one guy that just did that, and he says, that's consensus. Okay,
- 40:12Speaker 11: I heard it.
- 40:13Speaker 4: I heard him.
- 40:13Speaker 3: Oh we should have lost the draft.
- 40:15Speaker 4: Because he's the one, Fred, he's the one. Trust me.
- 40:20Speaker 4: You don't want to be a zero, one or two
- 40:22Speaker 4: win team. Trust me on this? Well, I agree with him,
- 40:26Speaker 4: No you do. Yeah, Wow, that's really controversial. Take what
- 40:29Speaker 4: I'm saying. You don't think it's a good thing to
- 40:31Speaker 4: be two and fifteen.
- 40:32Speaker 3: Saying that there were callers that disagree.
- 40:33Speaker 4: We'll tell yeah, and I'm going to tell you out
- 40:36Speaker 4: of their percentage of callers, there's like two. Okay, but
- 40:40Speaker 4: he makes it out to be all right. The other
- 40:42Speaker 4: wicks them, Oh we picked not only he picks them.
- 40:45Speaker 4: He accentuates, oh listen, and he creates that as consensus.
- 40:49Speaker 6: That sounds like the great OZ.
- 40:51Speaker 4: Because I don't know about you, Mike, but I think
- 40:53Speaker 4: it's really good if we only win one or two games.
- 40:56Speaker 4: That means we're a really good team. That's what all
- 40:58Speaker 4: the great teams do. Let's win two games. Trust me
- 41:02Speaker 4: on this mic. You don't want to be there. We
- 41:04Speaker 4: don't want to do that six or seven.
- 41:06Speaker 9: They wanted to lose sixteen games in a row. That's
- 41:08Speaker 9: why that's what everybody did.
- 41:11Speaker 4: Like Felger is the voice of reason, like he's the
- 41:13Speaker 4: one that had to teach us how it's better to
- 41:16Speaker 4: go fifteen and two than two and fifteen. It's you people,
- 41:19Speaker 4: because you people want you people want to lose.
- 41:22Speaker 3: Uping Fresno writes in uh subject line, thank you Jacoby Brissett.
- 41:28Speaker 6: There we go, go Fred.
- 41:30Speaker 3: If we're supposed to issue Matt Patricia a big thank you,
- 41:33Speaker 3: I'd say it's high time we did the same for
- 41:35Speaker 3: Jacoby Brissett. Sure, Rogers's post menopausal, but Perset manufactured a
- 41:42Speaker 3: win that might destroy the entire Jets organization, and did
- 41:45Speaker 3: so despite having the lumbering gait of Tom Barringer at
- 41:49Speaker 3: the end of Major League the movie broad a point
- 41:53Speaker 3: though the wins should be credited more to what Brissett
- 41:56Speaker 3: did on the field than to what Mayo previously said
- 41:59Speaker 3: on the podium.
- 42:00Speaker 4: I'm with Mike.
- 42:01Speaker 3: Maybe the team isn't baby bottom soft, but there's still
- 42:05Speaker 3: several viagras short of rock hard. They didn't really stop
- 42:08Speaker 3: the run we're doing here. Yeah, they really didn't stop
- 42:11Speaker 3: the run. The Jets didn't run as much as they
- 42:12Speaker 3: should have, so they ended up with less total rushing
- 42:15Speaker 3: yards and high yards per carry.
- 42:18Speaker 6: Yeah, can we put that?
- 42:19Speaker 8: I mean, you know, I wasn't trying to take anything
- 42:21Speaker 8: away from the team's response and how they played. I
- 42:25Speaker 8: just didn't connect it directly to I think these comments
- 42:27Speaker 8: got blown up outside and everyone saw it as well,
- 42:30Speaker 8: they need to respond to this. I'm not sure that
- 42:32Speaker 8: they ever really felt like I listened.
- 42:33Speaker 6: To what key On White said. He wasn't going out
- 42:35Speaker 6: there feeling like in his mind thinking about what may A.
- 42:39Speaker 4: Couple of different team meetings about it.
- 42:41Speaker 9: That was about it.
- 42:42Speaker 4: They offered that to us.
- 42:44Speaker 9: Team meetings, though.
- 42:45Speaker 6: Was that about losing six in a row or was
- 42:47Speaker 6: that specific?
- 42:48Speaker 4: I think it was in the wagons. I think I
- 42:50Speaker 4: think it was the latter.
- 42:51Speaker 9: I think in some of it was about, you know,
- 42:53Speaker 9: some of the rumors that were going on with the
- 42:55Speaker 9: receiver room and like stuff like just it was more
- 42:59Speaker 9: it was more about like buttoning things down than I
- 43:01Speaker 9: think it was directly about Gid's comments.
- 43:04Speaker 4: I think it was all part of it. I totally
- 43:06Speaker 4: agree with you with the receivers. I think they wanted
- 43:09Speaker 4: to tighten things up a little bit. But the fact
- 43:11Speaker 4: that they felt important enough to have a meeting, and
- 43:14Speaker 4: I think Juwan Bentley addressed the team.
- 43:17Speaker 9: Jonathan Jones, Jonathan Jones, veteran guys.
- 43:21Speaker 4: Like that to me, tells me it wasn't just the media.
- 43:23Speaker 4: First of all, the media had nothing to do with it,
- 43:26Speaker 4: said it not the media.
- 43:27Speaker 3: The wide receiver room was a mess, and it still
- 43:29Speaker 3: might be, but it needed it needed something. And and
- 43:34Speaker 3: right there's still not playing well.
- 43:36Speaker 9: Let the four drops in this game, and and some
- 43:38Speaker 9: bad ones like two on third down and then obviously
- 43:41Speaker 9: Taekwan's drop, and.
- 43:42Speaker 4: So do you you guys, Mike, I'm sorry you're going
- 43:45Speaker 4: to drop, but you only you only grinded the defense
- 43:51Speaker 4: a couple of crossers, booty and borne business decisions.
- 43:58Speaker 9: I always hate going there, but because I alligator arms,
- 44:03Speaker 9: like you know, like like why where they protected themselves
- 44:07Speaker 9: because they were going to get hit?
- 44:08Speaker 4: Those are tough, Yeah, should have been. Yeah, it's but
- 44:11Speaker 4: it's easy for us to say, just catch the ball.
- 44:13Speaker 4: You're gonna get hit anyway.
- 44:14Speaker 6: The board one was terrifying, the other one scary.
- 44:17Speaker 4: That's what I'm asking you guys a chance to watch
- 44:19Speaker 4: it again.
- 44:20Speaker 9: The second booty one from Brissett just was he didn't
- 44:25Speaker 9: l in the zone like that was more of like
- 44:26Speaker 9: a route running issue than it was like there was
- 44:29Speaker 9: a guy coming and he was going to take a hit.
- 44:31Speaker 9: But the two incuts that they threw the booty and Bourne, uh,
- 44:34Speaker 9: there is a guy flashing, and I do think that
- 44:36Speaker 9: they might have sensed that. I hate the business decision label.
- 44:40Speaker 4: But but you know what I mean, Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 44:41Speaker 4: yeah yeah.
- 44:43Speaker 3: Aaron's in Connecticut on the tpx houtline. What's up Aaron?
- 44:47Speaker 4: Oh is gone?
- 44:49Speaker 3: Then let's go to Baltimore where Rashad's on the line.
- 44:52Speaker 3: What's up for shot?
- 44:54Speaker 4: Hey?
- 44:55Speaker 3: What's up?
- 44:59Speaker 5: Well? I mean, first, let me just say I like
- 45:02Speaker 5: the Jets. They they I mean, it's like we always
- 45:06Speaker 5: in the season, So I guess I should have known
- 45:09Speaker 5: that we would somehow.
- 45:10Speaker 10: Someway win that game.
- 45:11Speaker 5: But I'm calling because of the pretty much like the talent,
- 45:17Speaker 5: but like the wide receiver was like I feel like
- 45:20Speaker 5: we about to go through what we went through, like
- 45:22Speaker 5: the last full year, the goal where we're going to
- 45:24Speaker 5: have to try to believe in these wide receivers to develop,
- 45:28Speaker 5: and I don't think none of them won't really develop
- 45:31Speaker 5: to you know, anything special. So you know, it just sucks.
- 45:36Speaker 5: It's like I had high hope for a lot of receivers,
- 45:39Speaker 5: but I think at best, you know, they still it
- 45:42Speaker 5: might be a two or three, but you know snow ones,
- 45:47Speaker 5: you know the defense. You know, they try their best,
- 45:50Speaker 5: but like we just not, they just don't have the talent,
- 45:54Speaker 5: Like they just don't have the talent the speed. Like
- 45:59Speaker 5: I don't know, I'm glad they won, but like I'm not,
- 46:02Speaker 5: I'm not and I'm not in the boat of tanking.
- 46:05Speaker 5: I don't want them to tank, like I don't. I
- 46:06Speaker 5: don't want to see them lose, Like I don't want
- 46:08Speaker 5: to see them lose every game, Like I want to
- 46:09Speaker 5: see them compete and win. Like I'm I'm a realist
- 46:14Speaker 5: saying like like they're not good like they you know,
- 46:18Speaker 5: Like I love Drake May. I definitely think he's the truth.
- 46:21Speaker 5: He's the one we might got this one, but like
- 46:25Speaker 5: we got it around him with Pama, Like we.
- 46:27Speaker 3: Got We've got a lot of work to do in
- 46:29Speaker 3: the offseason. Yeah, thanks for show. I appreciate the call.
- 46:32Speaker 4: A lot to be excited about that.
- 46:34Speaker 9: Yeah, I'm not like to like the receivers are what
- 46:37Speaker 9: they are for this season, right, but if you have
- 46:41Speaker 9: a quarterback.
- 46:43Speaker 3: Right now, you had to make a decision, these are
- 46:45Speaker 3: the guys we're going to keep from the receiver room.
- 46:47Speaker 3: Who would it be?
- 46:48Speaker 9: Pop Douglas?
- 46:49Speaker 3: I would put him on my list.
- 46:52Speaker 9: End of list, Like did I absolutely need to keep?
- 46:55Speaker 3: Yeah, but if you read like the X this week,
- 46:58Speaker 3: like you know, Booty is now he's earned, he's earned
- 47:03Speaker 3: what you know, a lot more reps and he has
- 47:05Speaker 3: one he's on the he's on the rise.
- 47:07Speaker 9: He has one really good vertical route of game. There's
- 47:11Speaker 9: the deep ball in Jacksonville, the deep ball in Houston,
- 47:14Speaker 9: the deep ball this week. He has one really good
- 47:16Speaker 9: rout of game that doesn't make him. Starting receivers on
- 47:21Speaker 9: other teams have six or seven of those routes a game,
- 47:24Speaker 9: not just one. Yeah, you know, so like you're he's
- 47:28Speaker 9: he's been fine. And I'm not trying to rag on
- 47:30Speaker 9: the guy, but I think Douglas is the only guy
- 47:32Speaker 9: that consistently separates every week.
- 47:36Speaker 3: That was a question I got in the many one
- 47:37Speaker 3: holding out hope for Pope that he can turn it around.
- 47:39Speaker 6: Yeah, I think so sure?
- 47:41Speaker 4: Why not?
- 47:42Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean I don't I mean, I don't have
- 47:44Speaker 8: the question just because all these guys are gonna be
- 47:47Speaker 8: back next year and they're gonna get a chance to compete.
- 47:49Speaker 6: It doesn't mean that they have to be the starters.
- 47:51Speaker 6: They can get bumped down. But I don't is anybody
- 47:53Speaker 6: realistically saying we're gonna cut Kendrick Horn, We're gonna cut kaishambui.
- 47:57Speaker 3: Like, well, I think once camp comes around and if
- 47:59Speaker 3: you do bring another.
- 48:00Speaker 4: People, it'll let me know what happens in the off seats.
- 48:03Speaker 6: Right right, But but not before that, right, No?
- 48:07Speaker 3: No, no, well no, you're not gonna just before now.
- 48:09Speaker 4: Before like those are the guys you have now? Yeah,
- 48:12Speaker 4: but if you if you, if you draft, let's say
- 48:16Speaker 4: you drafted. I mean, I know that people don't want
- 48:18Speaker 4: to hear this, and I probably don't want to hear
- 48:20Speaker 4: it either. But let's say you draft someone in the
- 48:22Speaker 4: top five, So you draft Travis Hunter and then maybe
- 48:26Speaker 4: you sign you know, a big time free agent t
- 48:30Speaker 4: Higgins or someone someone else. Those four or five guys
- 48:35Speaker 4: that you're talking about aren't all going to be.
- 48:36Speaker 8: Here, right Douglas, And I put Polk in that mixed
- 48:40Speaker 8: to him, I still have hope for him. What about Baker,
- 48:43Speaker 8: I don't have any hope for him.
- 48:44Speaker 4: No, wow, really no hope. I haven't I heard that
- 48:48Speaker 4: he's turn things around with dope. Not no hope.
- 48:53Speaker 9: I just it's dwindling. It's dwindling, Okay. I worry about
- 49:00Speaker 9: some of the things that cause him to drop to
- 49:01Speaker 9: the fourth round.
- 49:02Speaker 6: Put it that way, repeater, and those things have kind
- 49:05Speaker 6: of carried over into the season.
- 49:07Speaker 3: And I would say, also going back to the game,
- 49:12Speaker 3: I think Hunter Henry's maybe having the best season he's
- 49:14Speaker 3: had since he was a Patriot.
- 49:16Speaker 9: He's outstanding in this game.
- 49:17Speaker 4: I thought he was really good Sunday. But I mean
- 49:19Speaker 4: it's hard to top.
- 49:20Speaker 3: I mean the numbers Foe are huge, but every catch
- 49:22Speaker 3: was clutch.
- 49:23Speaker 6: I thought he was offensive really good.
- 49:26Speaker 9: I mean just drive starter on the game winning drive,
- 49:30Speaker 9: which was tough catch he blocked well. I mean the
- 49:35Speaker 9: goal line played at the end of the game, he
- 49:37Speaker 9: saves the game, you know, the right side of the line.
- 49:40Speaker 9: They both lose their blocks. The nineteen million dollar guard
- 49:43Speaker 9: again loses the block and Michael Jordan and Hunter Henry.
- 49:50Speaker 4: They did they did, They whiffed the practice. Jacobson on
- 49:53Speaker 4: when you whift.
- 49:54Speaker 6: Yeah, oh yeah, no.
- 49:54Speaker 8: I I kind of wanted to bring it up earlier,
- 49:56Speaker 8: but we were in a positive phase of say, if
- 49:58Speaker 8: they had lost the game, it would have been like
- 50:01Speaker 8: how often piece people.
- 50:03Speaker 4: Don't want to hear it. It's rare that they go
- 50:07Speaker 4: every scoring play is subject to review, it's rare that
- 50:11Speaker 4: they actually go to replay to review it. So it
- 50:15Speaker 4: was close enough that the guys upstairs said, you guys
- 50:18Speaker 4: might want to take a look at this. And the
- 50:20Speaker 4: reason it was close is what Evan said. The two
- 50:22Speaker 4: guys whiffed. Yeah, they both end up sort of on
- 50:26Speaker 4: their stomachs and didn't hit anybody.
- 50:28Speaker 3: Yeah, point of attack all right, Time to take a break.
- 50:31Speaker 3: When come back work calls and emails here on Patriots Unfiltered.

- 52:02Speaker 13: Only look excited to get back in the win column.
- 52:07Speaker 13: Excited to get a win here at home. You know,
- 52:09Speaker 13: I was a good football team you played against yesterday
- 52:11Speaker 13: and presented a bunch of problems. As I said on Friday,
- 52:15Speaker 13: you know, anytime you see Aaron Rodgers on the other
- 52:17Speaker 13: side of the balls, you got to put four quarters
- 52:20Speaker 13: in more if need. Be very proud of just the
- 52:23Speaker 13: way the guys responded and saying that, you know, you
- 52:26Speaker 13: watch the film and there were definitely still plays that
- 52:28Speaker 13: we left out there at this time. Look, Drake is
- 52:31Speaker 13: in the NFL concussion protocol, so I'm not going to
- 52:34Speaker 13: get too much into that. As far as straight questions,
- 52:37Speaker 13: what I told the guys in the locker room last
- 52:39Speaker 13: night was, you know that next man up mentality.
- 52:42Speaker 14: It doesn't matter what position you play.
- 52:44Speaker 13: You could be a defensive linment, offensive linement, whatever, or
- 52:48Speaker 13: a quarterback, which we saw yesterday. And kudos to jakobefore
- 52:52Speaker 13: being ready to go when we needed them. I would
- 52:55Speaker 13: say there was, you know, a couple of examples as
- 52:57Speaker 13: far as complimentary football. You know we had to thrown
- 53:00Speaker 13: out then a good punt return that led to a touchdown.
- 53:03Speaker 13: That's that's the complimentary football we need to play if
- 53:06Speaker 13: we want to be successful going forward.
- 53:08Speaker 14: And that's my message to the team and for.
- 53:12Speaker 15: Questions, will suffer. Doug Kaite, followed by Mark Daniels. Good morning, Drudd.
- 53:18Speaker 16: We saw Joshua ushe was in active in yesterday's game
- 53:23Speaker 16: despite not being on the injury re board. Was that
- 53:27Speaker 16: related to the NFL trade deadline? Related to something else?
- 53:29Speaker 16: What led to that decision?
- 53:31Speaker 13: It was just a healthy scratch and we also to put,
- 53:34Speaker 13: you know, the best team out there that we think
- 53:35Speaker 13: gives us the best chance to win.
- 53:38Speaker 15: Thank you, Next question, Mark Daniels follow like Chris Ryan.
- 53:42Speaker 14: Ed Rave, Good morning.
- 53:46Speaker 2: Last last yesterday, it seemed like there were more drops
- 53:48Speaker 2: than usual from the receiver group and a lot of
- 53:50Speaker 2: the players admitted that after the game.
- 53:51Speaker 15: Just was that a focused thing?
- 53:53Speaker 2: You know, what what did you see from that group
- 53:55Speaker 2: and what do they need to do here to respond
- 53:56Speaker 2: and sort of get over that?
- 53:58Speaker 14: They need to get better?
- 53:59Speaker 13: And I mean those guys went out there and they
- 54:02Speaker 13: were open at times, and you know, when you know,
- 54:04Speaker 13: the job of a receiver is to get open and
- 54:06Speaker 13: catch the ball. And if you're really good a run
- 54:08Speaker 13: with it afterwards, so they definitely have to get better
- 54:11Speaker 13: and they understand that.
- 54:13Speaker 14: Thank you, Thanks Chris Ryan.
- 54:16Speaker 15: Follow it to Courde Randall war are mon chrazy.
- 54:21Speaker 17: I want to ask you about the touchdown drive and
- 54:23Speaker 17: you know the execution that you awe on that obviously
- 54:26Speaker 17: you know we'll play seventy yards brings it down to
- 54:31Speaker 17: twenty two seconds left overall on the drive. What what
- 54:34Speaker 17: stood out to you and watching the film.
- 54:38Speaker 14: Just the overall operation.
- 54:39Speaker 13: You know, I joked about, you know on that drive
- 54:41Speaker 13: before that drive started. Usually I don't give a VP
- 54:44Speaker 13: any timeouts or anything like that going into a game
- 54:49Speaker 13: win drive.
- 54:49Speaker 14: And I thought those guys went out there and next
- 54:50Speaker 14: secute it well.
- 54:52Speaker 15: Thanks Thanks court Randell, Felt Bry Mike Reese.
- 54:57Speaker 14: Good roun.
- 54:58Speaker 18: It looked like it looked like Drake he might have
- 55:01Speaker 18: been slow to get up after the hit and was
- 55:03Speaker 18: moving slowly between plays. Just wanting did you see any
- 55:05Speaker 18: warning signs from him after the hit? And you know,
- 55:08Speaker 18: what was the conversation like with him before he went
- 55:10Speaker 18: into the medical tent.
- 55:12Speaker 13: I did not, you know, I was surprised when when
- 55:16Speaker 13: Whalan told me he had to go to the medical
- 55:17Speaker 13: tent because he threw a couple of good balls afterwards,
- 55:20Speaker 13: and I thought he was still pretty sharp in those regards.
- 55:24Speaker 13: But you know, I so it's above my pay grade
- 55:26Speaker 13: as far as like pulling them out of the game
- 55:27Speaker 13: and putting them in the protocol.
- 55:32Speaker 15: Expression. Mike Breese follower tiv Kyles.
- 55:34Speaker 4: Morn and draw.
- 55:36Speaker 19: Can you can you just repeat what you mentioned about
- 55:39Speaker 19: the before the final drive with a VP, that you
- 55:42Speaker 19: usually don't give them timeouts or I didn't quite follow
- 55:45Speaker 19: you there.
- 55:45Speaker 14: What did you I was saying?
- 55:47Speaker 13: In practice, sorry, in practice, we go through that situation,
- 55:51Speaker 13: you know, multiple times a week, and usually I say,
- 55:54Speaker 13: all right, it's a minute with no timeouts, and we
- 55:57Speaker 13: operate that way, so we do get time outs.
- 55:59Speaker 14: It's a it's a it's a it's a bonus for him, gotcha. Gotcha.
- 56:03Speaker 19: Thanks for clarifying that. And and the touchdown run to
- 56:07Speaker 19: win the game when you went back to watch it,
- 56:10Speaker 19: I'm curious what you saw.
- 56:13Speaker 13: Yeah, it's the same thing I said last night, where
- 56:15Speaker 13: you know, there comes a point in time where everyone
- 56:17Speaker 13: knows you're going to run the ball and you got
- 56:18Speaker 13: to beat the man across from you. And I've never
- 56:21Speaker 13: wavered and saying that reminder is one of the best
- 56:23Speaker 13: backs in the league, and why not give it to him.
- 56:24Speaker 13: We should give it to him in that situation, and
- 56:28Speaker 13: the offense capitalized.
- 56:29Speaker 15: And then one quick fault. Just theme wise on the
- 56:32Speaker 15: same topic.
- 56:33Speaker 19: You had seven offensive linemen on the field on that
- 56:37Speaker 19: play with Thomas and City coming City as the fullback right.
- 56:44Speaker 19: We also saw Lasidas actually in the first play of
- 56:47Speaker 19: the game, you know, but he come in and a
- 56:50Speaker 19: like offset there in the backfield. What was the thought
- 56:53Speaker 19: process obviously in the last play or just power right
- 56:56Speaker 19: with the but what was the thought process on using
- 56:59Speaker 19: some of the offensive linement like that.
- 57:01Speaker 14: No, I think you bring up a great point.
- 57:02Speaker 13: You know, what was perceived I would say earlier on
- 57:06Speaker 13: as a weakness on this team has now become a strength.
- 57:08Speaker 13: And that has been through you know, Elliott, his team
- 57:10Speaker 13: and the acquisition of guys like Lasidas.
- 57:12Speaker 14: And this is one of those guys that practice is hard.
- 57:16Speaker 13: He's a great professional off the field as well, and
- 57:19Speaker 13: you know, we felt good putting those guys in to
- 57:21Speaker 13: move the to move the offense. Sorry the movie defensive linemen,
- 57:23Speaker 13: and they did that.
- 57:27Speaker 15: Taylor Kyle's follower, Sophie Walder coach, thank you for your
- 57:31Speaker 15: time with Marcus Jones.
- 57:33Speaker 18: It seemed like he played outside more than we've seen
- 57:35Speaker 18: in a while matching up with Garrett Wilson.
- 57:37Speaker 14: I was wondering what was.
- 57:38Speaker 18: The thought process about that matchup and also how did
- 57:40Speaker 18: you feel that win because obviously gave up some catches
- 57:42Speaker 18: but also made some plays in the.
- 57:43Speaker 14: Matchup as well. That's a great question, Taylor.
- 57:45Speaker 13: I would say, there's no secret they liked that matchup
- 57:50Speaker 13: against twenty five and they went after him quite a bit,
- 57:54Speaker 13: and just like you said, he made some plays and
- 57:56Speaker 13: gave up some players, But at the same time, I
- 57:58Speaker 13: would say, just that dog mentality of being able to
- 58:01Speaker 13: get up and go again the next rep.
- 58:03Speaker 14: I thought he. I thought Marcus definitely displayed that. Yes, sir,
- 58:06Speaker 14: Thank you.
- 58:08Speaker 15: Have two final questions. Sophie Waller and Chris.
- 58:11Speaker 20: Ryan Hid congrats on the win.
- 58:16Speaker 14: Thanks.
- 58:16Speaker 20: So I was curious we kind of saw Javon Baker
- 58:20Speaker 20: back returning was a kick returns, which was kind of
- 58:24Speaker 20: a new role for him him. What did you see
- 58:26Speaker 20: from him there and how do you feel he's progressing
- 58:30Speaker 20: to maybe get some opportunities as well with that wide
- 58:33Speaker 20: receiver group in the game.
- 58:34Speaker 13: Yeah, yeah, one opportunity to run back a kick. Obviously
- 58:37Speaker 13: it was it was disappointing, but it wasn't just him.
- 58:40Speaker 13: It was also just the block and up front, this
- 58:42Speaker 13: guy is very explosive with the ball in his hands,
- 58:44Speaker 13: and we have to as coaches, you know, when the
- 58:47Speaker 13: solution based business find ways to get him the wall.
- 58:52Speaker 15: And last question, Chris roy.
- 58:55Speaker 17: Kid, I want to ask you about a couple of
- 58:56Speaker 17: guys and how they've responded to to adversity this year
- 59:00Speaker 17: and Ormandre obviously the game winning run, and also Yo
- 59:03Speaker 17: Jacobe Rissette and how he's handled things. What have you
- 59:07Speaker 17: seen from both of those individuals behind the scenes and
- 59:10Speaker 17: how do they kind of set the tone when it
- 59:12Speaker 17: comes to, you know, what type of sacrifices need to
- 59:15Speaker 17: be made.
- 59:16Speaker 14: Yeah, I'll started with Mandre.
- 59:19Speaker 13: Look, you know, obviously early in the season he had
- 59:22Speaker 13: a hard time keeping the ball right, so as far
- 59:24Speaker 13: as fumbles and things like that are concerned, and you know,
- 59:27Speaker 13: he had been going through some things, you know, also
- 59:29Speaker 13: off the field, and I just I tipped my hat
- 59:31Speaker 13: to a guy like that who's able to once he
- 59:33Speaker 13: crosses the white line, nothing else really matters. And so
- 59:36Speaker 13: proud of him and what he's what he's been able
- 59:38Speaker 13: to do. And Jacoby is just you know, we said
- 59:41Speaker 13: this the ultimate professional, also a tough guy that is
- 59:44Speaker 13: able to go out there and operate the offense, and
- 59:46Speaker 13: we're bust to have him.
- 59:48Speaker 14: Thank you, Thanks.
- 59:50Speaker 9: Everyone, and now great moments.
- 59:57Speaker 3: History.
- 59:58Speaker 4: Sometimes like that was a regular argument that was fine, yeah,
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: but there are times that we get like sort of upset.
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: We started yelling, well, it's great, and it's not. Really.
- 1:00:05Speaker 4: I don't think it's the best moments of the show.
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: If you're yelling over each other as a listener, you
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: literally can't hear what people are saying.
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: There are times I know this is going to surprise
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: some people, but when I have an argument with you
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: that I'm embarrassed about it afterwards, well you should and
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: I don't necessarily some of you stance. I don't necessarily.
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: Actually I'm surprised. I can't believe I'm losing to this guy.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: That's another great moment from.
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: All right back here on Patriots Unfiltered eighty five five
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: past five hundred is the TPX hotline. Patriot Podcasts at
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: patriots dot com is the email address. I got a
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: new laptop you know it, every you know, ten years
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: tells you you have to upgrade your laptop. So I
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: did that, and I had to rebuild like every password
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: that I have, and like everything everything happen.
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: You're telling me, I'm gonna wait for them.
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: My life is on that you know laptop and every
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: password to every site that runs my life. I had to,
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: you know, put in So where did I put that password? So?
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: Yeah, So you know, the best thing to do is
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: you get you get out like a packet of like
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: post it notes. Yeah, write them all on sticky notes.
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: That's how you do it, and then just put them
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: up all over all over your work area.
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: I hope not listening.
- 1:01:31Speaker 4: That's the safe That's the safest way to go. But
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: he did, You'll never forget them.
- 1:01:34Speaker 6: Do an online seminar for that.
- 1:01:36Speaker 9: I have my notes app on my phone.
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: I have some like that.
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: I like when I get attachments from people I don't know,
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: I like to see what they are.
- 1:01:44Speaker 4: I generally try to open up, like what is it?
- 1:01:46Speaker 5: You know?
- 1:01:47Speaker 9: I just curious attachments.
- 1:01:49Speaker 6: How do you remember the passwords to your passwords? Yeah,
- 1:01:53Speaker 6: it's only one.
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: That's another word for the social recognition wicked smart. Yeah, Yeah,
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: the facial wreck. Is that that's that's a good, good advancement.
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: Yeah, nice tech, yeah, Norman writes. In Norman, he says,
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: I was disappointed when Bill was relieved of his duties
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: with the Patriots. But the more I hear him on
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: all the shows that he appears on, the more respect
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: I lose. I know everyone has their own opinion, but
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: to go on what seems like a bash the people
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: have wronged me tour, I think it's kind of hypocritical
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: for a guy that despised the media as much as
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: he did to go around praising only people he likes.
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: My opinion, he's losing credibility there you go.
- 1:02:38Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 1:02:39Speaker 8: I haven't I don't feel like I've watched enough of
- 1:02:41Speaker 8: it to really say that. I mean, I've seen the highlights,
- 1:02:44Speaker 8: but the highlights that are always put in my face.
- 1:02:46Speaker 6: Are what he says about the Patriots.
- 1:02:48Speaker 9: Yeah, I admit that That's part of it, is that
- 1:02:50Speaker 9: what's going to get picked up is the negative stuff
- 1:02:53Speaker 9: or this stuff for Patriots related or what.
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: I don't really care.
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: I think we're all I'm smack dab in the middle
- 1:02:59Speaker 4: of fifty on that female like. I think He's right.
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: I think he's hypocritical. He is oh as anti media
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: as he was throughout his coaching career for him to
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: have so many media jobs now at the same time,
- 1:03:13Speaker 4: like you know, the whole on this crusade against you know,
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: people that wronged him. I mean, I can't understand how
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: he feels. Yeah, and he wasn't wronged because he was
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: like go, it's kind of what's happened since. And you know,
- 1:03:29Speaker 4: I can understand how he feels now. I think he's
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: always been hypocritical in terms of, you know, it's okay
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: for him to say and do things or change his
- 1:03:40Speaker 4: agenda as he goes. But you know, the media was
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: always getting called out for that, you know. So I'm
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: kind of half and half line. I see the stuff
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: that I've been very critical of, some of the stuff
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: that Bill has said. You know, didn't have anything good
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: to say about how buttoned down the Patriots looked in
- 1:03:57Speaker 4: Week one, you know, and you know, they avoided penalties,
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: they avoided turnovers, they won the game exactly the way
- 1:04:03Speaker 4: Bill Belichick always wanted to win games, right, and he
- 1:04:06Speaker 4: didn't say word one about it, and then all of
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: a sudden they start doing a couple of things strategically
- 1:04:12Speaker 4: that you know, Drew second guesses and he was right
- 1:04:15Speaker 4: there to pile on.
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: So I get both sides are a little butt hurt.
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: They're very oversensitive, but you know, you know, Patriots fans,
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: he's not coming He's not coming back, so get over it.
- 1:04:29Speaker 8: I just wonder, like, you know, Paul, we do our shows.
- 1:04:32Speaker 8: We have the The Patriots on Filter on TV, which
- 1:04:34Speaker 8: I hope everyone watches. But then we do these shows,
- 1:04:35Speaker 8: and we do the pregame in the post game show
- 1:04:37Speaker 8: and sometimes you said earlier, you make different picks when
- 1:04:40Speaker 8: we do picks, and I do the same. But it
- 1:04:42Speaker 8: must be hard for Bill to keep track of everything
- 1:04:45Speaker 8: he says and what you know, and and keep track
- 1:04:47Speaker 8: of all the people that he maybe wants to highlight
- 1:04:48Speaker 8: or people that he doesn't want to highlight.
- 1:04:50Speaker 6: A right, Well, he's got like six different shows, like
- 1:04:52Speaker 6: how do you.
- 1:04:53Speaker 8: Remember, like, well, I can't go too hard on the
- 1:04:55Speaker 8: Patriots here because I killed him in this show, or
- 1:04:57Speaker 8: you know, because it does he even think about it
- 1:04:59Speaker 8: that way, or you know, like I can't imagine.
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: Having question all show keeps a question everything.
- 1:05:04Speaker 8: You know, he's especially being on with you know, favorable
- 1:05:07Speaker 8: people Matty p and A.
- 1:05:12Speaker 4: I tease Mike Lombardi a lot too, but I think
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: he sort of he comes in like wreaking of kerosene.
- 1:05:18Speaker 4: He wants to he wants to light the fire. He want,
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: he knows where they want to go, and I think
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: and it's not good for.
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: Him, and they've had co Like you know, I'm sure
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: Lombardi talks to Bill and it's like.
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: You can't believe what they said about you.
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: I'm gonna I'm gonna straighten that out, you know.
- 1:05:35Speaker 9: Stuff that like that type of stuff. I tried not
- 1:05:37Speaker 9: to let bother me, but the thing bothered me because
- 1:05:39Speaker 9: it was like, you literally had the opportunity to trade
- 1:05:42Speaker 9: this player last year, and he didn't take the opportunity,
- 1:05:45Speaker 9: and now you're killing them because his value is is
- 1:05:48Speaker 9: been hurt and so now they got less of a return.
- 1:05:50Speaker 4: But I would also say too, like you know, to
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: your point of these trade deadline deals almost never end
- 1:05:58Speaker 4: up going down for what people think they're gonna go
- 1:06:00Speaker 4: down for, except for him who gave up a second
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: round hit for Mohammed Sanu, Right, you know, like DeAndre
- 1:06:06Speaker 4: Hopkins got a fifth right, you know, like you're telling me,
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: DeAndre Hopkins even now wasn't more valuable than Mohammed Sanu
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: was when they acquired him. Right, So just because you
- 1:06:16Speaker 4: don't read the market properly doesn't mean that that was
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: a terrible trade for a sixth round pick.
- 1:06:20Speaker 9: Yep, Yeah, I just his J's value was at its
- 1:06:24Speaker 9: highest point last year. He's coming off the twenty twenty
- 1:06:27Speaker 9: two season, and he had some value at that point.
- 1:06:30Speaker 9: And if you wanted to sell high on the asset,
- 1:06:33Speaker 9: it was to trade him at the deadline last year
- 1:06:35Speaker 9: or even before the season last year, if you knew
- 1:06:37Speaker 9: you weren't going to resign him and instead I don't
- 1:06:40Speaker 9: know where his head was at on that one. You know,
- 1:06:42Speaker 9: only he can answer that.
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: But like you said, it could have been I want
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: to win as many games as possible, yeah, or maybe
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: given up already. I don't want to hurt the defense.
- 1:06:51Speaker 9: Yeah, right, Because.
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: It sounded like you could have couldn't have cared less
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: about the offense. Yeah, you know the way last year
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: looked like it too, Johnny and Matdtown writes in at
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: podcast at Patriots dot Com. Halloween yay or nay? Game?
- 1:07:06Speaker 4: You ready?
- 1:07:06Speaker 6: Okay?
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: Real simple? Do you like it? Or not one the
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: original movie from nineteen seventy eight, Halloween. Yeah.
- 1:07:13Speaker 9: I don't like scary movies.
- 1:07:15Speaker 4: Yeah, kind of okay, kind of like Evan.
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: Candy corn noay, nay. Absolutely, haunted houses, corn mazes, Nope, nay.
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: I like corn maze house is yay. No, they creep
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: me out, man, those haunted houses. Don't get in my space.
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: I don't.
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: I don't like. Yeah, decorate your house yeay, yay. Yeah,
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: you decorate your house for Halloween.
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: But do you think I do it?
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:07:38Speaker 4: No, But I like the fact that it's done.
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: Okay, you like it? I have people like you like
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: having your house decorated?
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: I do, Okay. Christmas, oh absolutely, okay. I'm a little
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: bit more involved with the Christmas setup.
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: But in terms of the drum roll, in terms of
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: what you like better Christmas or Halloween.
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: Oh, Christmas, Christmas, love Christmas.
- 1:08:01Speaker 9: That doesn't apply to me, right.
- 1:08:03Speaker 3: I hope it was okay? As long as there's no
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: risk of long term issues. This is likely just a
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: mild bump in the road in a season that's only
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: about development. Anyway, misses this week and hopefully back for
- 1:08:14Speaker 3: the next game. Patriots win again this Sunday twenty one,
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: seventeen with a pick six mixed in.
- 1:08:20Speaker 4: That'd be nice.
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: I haven't had one of those.
- 1:08:22Speaker 8: My lovely wife dropped her iPhone in a corn Mas
- 1:08:25Speaker 8: once and it was just ridiculous trying to find it,
- 1:08:30Speaker 8: like because we didn't have before track my iPhone. It
- 1:08:33Speaker 8: was it's like walking through a corn Mas calling the phone,
- 1:08:36Speaker 8: like trying to listen. You can't even find your way
- 1:08:39Speaker 8: out of the thing, much less find a phone.
- 1:08:41Speaker 6: We never did find the phone.
- 1:08:42Speaker 4: But speaking a Belichick, oh yeah.
- 1:08:45Speaker 6: Doing the round.
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: Yeah, gotta let's see more emails. Jack writes in about
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: the Tigers that we are the Tigers. The Lions that
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: we mentioned earlier. Lions have not forgotten how they've been
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: jobbed twice against the Cowboys. First in the nineties in
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: a playoff game when a late, outrageously bad PI call
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: rob them of a victory, and then last season when
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: the officials took a tackle eligible conversion off the board,
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: again robbing the lines of a victory.
- 1:09:15Speaker 4: Now, the first one was not in the nineties. That
- 1:09:17Speaker 4: was much more recent. That was Matthew Stafford.
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: Now the Lions are pissed off. They don't want just
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: to beat you. They want to humiliate you, and they
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: have the talent to do it. The Lions are playing angry.
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: Yeah, the question is it a good thing?
- 1:09:31Speaker 6: I think we'll see. Can you run on hate that?
- 1:09:34Speaker 4: Well? No, Like, if it's those things worth the energy
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: that it takes to think about, I think you could
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: in twenty twenty hindsight make a good case that the
- 1:09:45Speaker 4: two thousand and seven Patriots were close to out of
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: gas at the end of the at the end of
- 1:09:50Speaker 4: the road, and Mike, they had a little bit more
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: left in the tank had they not been so sort
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: of preoccupied with the fu tour from Spygate and you know,
- 1:10:01Speaker 4: running up the score as often as they did.
- 1:10:04Speaker 9: A good point.
- 1:10:04Speaker 6: I really like the twist uniforms right now though, the
- 1:10:07Speaker 6: new blue they've got. I like that that.
- 1:10:11Speaker 9: We also haven't talked about Aaron Rodgers and just what's
- 1:10:16Speaker 9: going on with him, because I gotta say that he's
- 1:10:21Speaker 9: like not washed, but it's he's not Rogers.
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: He's just close to a watch. Yeah, it's not I
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: thought you.
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: Were going to go into the hygiene area.
- 1:10:29Speaker 4: I mean probably not that.
- 1:10:31Speaker 9: Yeah, all of the areas, but it looks to me like,
- 1:10:35Speaker 9: you know, he he's always broken the rules of quarterback mechanics,
- 1:10:39Speaker 9: and he's always thrown off, you know, both feet off
- 1:10:41Speaker 9: the ground and moving around and just flicking his wrist
- 1:10:45Speaker 9: and getting the ball out, and like, I don't think
- 1:10:47Speaker 9: he's got the physical ability to do it anymore.
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: Yeah, people you know, are suspecting this. Achilles did not
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: heal the right way.
- 1:10:54Speaker 6: I think Paul said in the postgame show, and I
- 1:10:56Speaker 6: when I grinded the film ground the film, I know,
- 1:10:58Speaker 6: he don't look like you want to get hit anymore.
- 1:11:00Speaker 4: Yeah, sure that to me, Sure he didn't. He's always
- 1:11:04Speaker 4: Evans right, He's always sort of played by his own rules.
- 1:11:07Speaker 4: But now it looks like he's afraid to get hit.
- 1:11:09Speaker 4: And as soon as I thought, there were plenty of
- 1:11:11Speaker 4: times in that game where he just like left the
- 1:11:14Speaker 4: pocket before you need to, there was no pressure. Yeah yeah,
- 1:11:16Speaker 4: and then he would like sort of slide right a
- 1:11:18Speaker 4: little bit, and all of a sudden he had to
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: throw it away because he moved into a guy. And
- 1:11:23Speaker 4: I also don't think he saw the field very well.
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: Was even a couple of completions we were watching and
- 1:11:27Speaker 4: we were like oh wow, uh oh oh. And then
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: sometimes he made the you know, made the completion. Sometimes
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: he was too late.
- 1:11:33Speaker 6: Could have just kept throwing the gear.
- 1:11:35Speaker 9: I just wonder if.
- 1:11:35Speaker 4: Like well Adams was like the first half of the game,
- 1:11:38Speaker 4: someone one of the New York guys had like a
- 1:11:41Speaker 4: thing he put up and it's like, he's gonna look
- 1:11:43Speaker 4: at this tape. Adams is going to see how many
- 1:11:45Speaker 4: times that either he was open or he was schemed
- 1:11:48Speaker 4: open in the first half and Rogers never threw it
- 1:11:49Speaker 4: to him.
- 1:11:50Speaker 9: Yeah, there was a couple of times. One gone they
- 1:11:53Speaker 9: ran like a pick play for him and Gonzo got
- 1:11:55Speaker 9: got picked off. Another one was like a little slant
- 1:11:58Speaker 9: that Adams shook him pretty good at the line of scrimmage.
- 1:12:01Speaker 9: But I thought Gonzalez was pretty good in this game
- 1:12:03Speaker 9: against Adams.
- 1:12:04Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: PFF certainly thought so, right, he made my good list. Yeah,
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: he didn't have huge numbers for Gonzales.
- 1:12:11Speaker 9: Well, he was targeted five times, only gave up one catch,
- 1:12:13Speaker 9: so that that's always gonna gonna be good in their grading.
- 1:12:17Speaker 9: And the one catch was that at the end of
- 1:12:18Speaker 9: the game was the last play of the game. It
- 1:12:20Speaker 9: was the sixteen yarder to Adams that ended the game,
- 1:12:23Speaker 9: so it was a meaningless catch. So he covered him
- 1:12:26Speaker 9: twenty three times and gave up one catch for sixteen
- 1:12:29Speaker 9: yards on a meetingless throw.
- 1:12:30Speaker 6: So he looked so good to me.
- 1:12:33Speaker 8: He's just so athletic, and I think, you know, maybe
- 1:12:36Speaker 8: you want him to be more physical at times, but
- 1:12:38Speaker 8: I think he's physical enough.
- 1:12:39Speaker 6: But he just he can run. He can run with anybody.
- 1:12:42Speaker 4: Yeah, and my problem with the PFF stuff is totally
- 1:12:46Speaker 4: results based, Like the one catch on five, you know, like,
- 1:12:50Speaker 4: so it doesn't count, The passing appearance doesn't count, the
- 1:12:52Speaker 4: play that probably should have been called for passing affairs
- 1:12:55Speaker 4: gets downgrade, you know it?
- 1:12:57Speaker 10: You know?
- 1:12:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that he was better in this game.
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: I told you know, I had him on my good
- 1:13:03Speaker 4: list this week. I thought Marcus Jones struggled. Now I
- 1:13:05Speaker 4: give him points for competing before anybody yells at me,
- 1:13:08Speaker 4: but I thought he struggled. And I thought Gonzales was
- 1:13:12Speaker 4: better than he had been in the previous couple of
- 1:13:14Speaker 4: weeks in this game. So I'm not telling you that
- 1:13:16Speaker 4: I think PFF is wrong. Yeah, I think they're right.
- 1:13:18Speaker 4: I think he was good. What about the decision I
- 1:13:20Speaker 4: don't like the whole percentage thing.
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: What about the decision to put Marcus Jones on Willson
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: and rather than the other way around and have Gonzo
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: on Willie.
- 1:13:28Speaker 8: That's the follow up question, Fred, because Giord said they
- 1:13:31Speaker 8: liked that matchup, and so I put my pall hat
- 1:13:33Speaker 8: on with, well did you try to get out of that?
- 1:13:36Speaker 8: Like what you know, why why did they liked it?
- 1:13:39Speaker 8: You let them keep going to it. I mean it
- 1:13:40Speaker 8: was so obvious off the line.
- 1:13:43Speaker 9: They tried to double him a few times as the
- 1:13:45Speaker 9: game war on, and I thought, you know, the biggest
- 1:13:47Speaker 9: reason to me would be that Adams is like the bigger,
- 1:13:49Speaker 9: more physical receiver. So Gonzo has the size that Marcus
- 1:13:54Speaker 9: Jones doesn't have it.
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: Wilson's six ' three, isn't he No, he's.
- 1:13:57Speaker 9: Like six to one, but he's also not That's not
- 1:13:59Speaker 9: how he plays. Yeah, So I think that that was
- 1:14:03Speaker 9: probably why they liked that matchup better. But I thought
- 1:14:06Speaker 9: they had some really cool coverages on third down in
- 1:14:08Speaker 9: this game where they were matching in man and stuff
- 1:14:12Speaker 9: like that, and like kind of passing off crossers and
- 1:14:15Speaker 9: things of that nature that ended up starting to work
- 1:14:17Speaker 9: as the game war on. I had a really good
- 1:14:19Speaker 9: rep on Ellis's sack that was a really good coverage
- 1:14:22Speaker 9: rep where they doubled both guys and had them both
- 1:14:25Speaker 9: bracketed on the play and Gonzo was actually on Mike
- 1:14:28Speaker 9: williams uh on an island, so they put Gonzo on him.
- 1:14:32Speaker 9: Said you got to take him by yourself.
- 1:14:34Speaker 6: Single the three, yeah, double the one on the.
- 1:14:37Speaker 9: Two exactly yeah, And it worked perfectly. So I thought,
- 1:14:41Speaker 9: I said a VP got had some good calls earlier.
- 1:14:43Speaker 9: I thought Covington had some moments in this game that
- 1:14:45Speaker 9: were better to two.
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: Point conversion two, which I don't know if you know what.
- 1:14:49Speaker 4: The Jets felt like they had a better chance from
- 1:14:51Speaker 4: the seven, well that one too.
- 1:14:54Speaker 6: I kind of watched it.
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: Do you know he said that right?
- 1:14:56Speaker 9: Rogers did?
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: Yeah, he did not really, Oh my god, Oh geez.
- 1:15:00Speaker 9: It's just so much of what their offense. So much
- 1:15:03Speaker 9: of their issues are him, Like, it's not even just
- 1:15:05Speaker 9: about physical, it's about all the other crafts.
- 1:15:08Speaker 4: I think I think percent of their.
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: Issues being a petulant child.
- 1:15:12Speaker 4: I underestimated how much of a dB he is and
- 1:15:15Speaker 4: that that's me And I've been calling.
- 1:15:17Speaker 9: Out of the huddle get the.
- 1:15:20Speaker 4: Like know what the mess? It's so casual everything, you know, And.
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: This is one of those years ago.
- 1:15:28Speaker 4: But this is one of those things like you know,
- 1:15:30Speaker 4: just because you're ranting and raving like a lunatic doesn't
- 1:15:33Speaker 4: mean you're always wrong, like the Fred Toucher thing on
- 1:15:35Speaker 4: on one of my shows. He's a Jets fan, right.
- 1:15:38Speaker 4: He insists the whole torn Achilles was Rogers's fault, like
- 1:15:42Speaker 4: you're you're under attack, Like it's not. You don't have
- 1:15:45Speaker 4: to be super cool. You can just get sacked or
- 1:15:48Speaker 4: just throw the ball away. You don't have to look
- 1:15:51Speaker 4: super cool doing everything that you do because you're Aaron Rodgers.
- 1:15:54Speaker 4: He thinks that he put himself in harmony and he's
- 1:15:57Speaker 4: probably not wrong, Like it's this casual, like what me
- 1:16:01Speaker 4: worry kind of approached that he has to everything. That
- 1:16:04Speaker 4: leads to four different times they had to either burn
- 1:16:09Speaker 4: a time out or got called for delay a game. Yep,
- 1:16:12Speaker 4: like that's on the quarterback.
- 1:16:13Speaker 9: Yeah, he was like, oh, they were late to get
- 1:16:15Speaker 9: the play calls, and I don't know he's been doing
- 1:16:17Speaker 9: that everyone else scrimmage and then you also so much
- 1:16:20Speaker 9: of their play calling is clearly him, Like the Patriots
- 1:16:24Speaker 9: run defense could not stop Breeze Hall, Like, I know
- 1:16:28Speaker 9: we they were better and we're trying to you know,
- 1:16:31Speaker 9: the soft stuff and all that, but they really couldn't
- 1:16:33Speaker 9: stop Breeze hauled out that much. But Rogers has to cook,
- 1:16:36Speaker 9: like Rodgers has to have his moments in the game,
- 1:16:38Speaker 9: and he's gotta he's got to.
- 1:16:40Speaker 4: Throw the spine fifty. But the amount of guys that
- 1:16:43Speaker 4: he was missing in that game.
- 1:16:44Speaker 9: Yeah, they should have ran the ball forty times in
- 1:16:46Speaker 9: that game, and they did it because of him.
- 1:16:48Speaker 3: Jake writes in Love to Win, Hope may Uh is alright.
- 1:16:51Speaker 3: He looked fantastic until the injury. Curious if you guys
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: think Booty's comments the last few weeks about being mad
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: about not getting the ball due to not dropping any
- 1:16:59Speaker 3: that came to him was a not so subtle shot
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: at Polk, who was an incompletion machine in getting a
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: bunch of targets week after week. Also, I know we
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: still need to tackle and line help. I love Ted McMillan, yep,
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: And if he's there when we draft, I'm shooting for him.
- 1:17:17Speaker 9: I'm definitely starting to come around on the receiver thing,
- 1:17:21Speaker 9: mainly just because some of the tackles have kind of
- 1:17:24Speaker 9: dropped off off a little bit, but also just you know,
- 1:17:27Speaker 9: look if you have a really good quarterback like Drake May.
- 1:17:29Speaker 9: We're already seeing that even this line is starting to
- 1:17:32Speaker 9: level off a little bit in past protection.
- 1:17:35Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:17:35Speaker 9: Ted McMillan is a is a dog with a D
- 1:17:38Speaker 9: A w G.
- 1:17:39Speaker 3: But what do you think about his hypothesis that Booty's
- 1:17:45Speaker 3: comments were aimed at poke, like when they throw it
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: to me, I don't drop it.
- 1:17:48Speaker 4: See. I think that's one If we go back to
- 1:17:51Speaker 4: me and Evan talking last week, that's when I think
- 1:17:53Speaker 4: you're you're putting some pieces in place that haven't been said. Now.
- 1:17:57Speaker 4: You're interpreting something stretching, you know. And I'm not telling
- 1:18:00Speaker 4: you you're wrong, but I'm saying I don't think. I
- 1:18:03Speaker 4: don't think it's a logical conclusion to say that's that's
- 1:18:06Speaker 4: what he said. Just take him a face back. He
- 1:18:08Speaker 4: feels like he needs to have the ball throw in
- 1:18:09Speaker 4: his way more. Yeah, Like, I don't think it has
- 1:18:11Speaker 4: to be an indictment of Polk.
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: It felt like, how can you throwing it to him
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: so much?
- 1:18:15Speaker 4: Right now? Maybe that maybe that is what he meant,
- 1:18:18Speaker 4: but I didn't take it that way. A little trivia, Yeah,
- 1:18:21Speaker 4: I love love trivia.
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: Brian and Swansea writes in this is raft themed trivia,
- 1:18:26Speaker 3: so we've got to bring Alex in. Drake may joins
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: Richard Seymour and Gerard Mayo as the only Patriot player
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: drafted with a top ten pick during the last thirty years.
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: What team has had the most top ten draft picks
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: during this time period?
- 1:18:43Speaker 9: The Cleveland Browns No. One of two teams Jaguars.
- 1:18:48Speaker 4: No Jaguars, are you looking?
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: No?
- 1:18:50Speaker 6: I didn't.
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: They have an astonishing twenty, including ten straight from two
- 1:18:55Speaker 3: thousand and eight to twenty seventeen during the Super Bowl era.
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: Named the three players drafted number one overall who have
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: had the same last name as a Massachusetts municipality number
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: one overall, So that narrows it down quite a bit.
- 1:19:14Speaker 4: Cam Newton, Yes, ooh.
- 1:19:17Speaker 9: That's a good one. Crap, I'm not going to think
- 1:19:23Speaker 9: it outside.
- 1:19:23Speaker 4: The box like that. We move on to the next one.
- 1:19:25Speaker 3: You don't.
- 1:19:26Speaker 4: I want to. I want to keep thinking, but move
- 1:19:27Speaker 4: on to the next one. I don't want to bog
- 1:19:28Speaker 4: the show down like Mike Franceso.
- 1:19:31Speaker 3: In the nineteen eighty nine Draft eighty nine, the first
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: pick Troy a Minute, third pick Barry sanders In, fourth
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: pick Derek Thomas, and fifth pick d On Sanders were
- 1:19:41Speaker 3: all elected to the NFL.
- 1:19:42Speaker 4: A bad draft.
- 1:19:43Speaker 3: Yeah, who was the second pick in that year's.
- 1:19:46Speaker 4: Draft eighty nine, nineteen eighty.
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: So who was the pick after Troy A?
- 1:19:52Speaker 4: Can you give me the team that drafted Brian Bosworth
- 1:19:55Speaker 4: might give it away, but the Colts Steve Empman. No.
- 1:20:00Speaker 8: But along the trev Alberts no Dawson.
- 1:20:06Speaker 4: Dawson boards illustrated vander rich Tony manderridch he was drafted
- 1:20:12Speaker 4: by green Bay, wasn't he?
- 1:20:14Speaker 3: According to this According to Brian and Swansea, he said,
- 1:20:17Speaker 3: I thought.
- 1:20:17Speaker 4: He was drafted by green Bay. But that's four Hall
- 1:20:20Speaker 4: of famers in.
- 1:20:21Speaker 6: The first five picks those induced football card collecting.
- 1:20:24Speaker 4: Nice, I had all those guys.
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: Who was the last player drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers
- 1:20:29Speaker 3: with a top five pick?
- 1:20:32Speaker 4: Pittsburgh, give you a hint time ago? Correct? Wow? Correct?
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: And finally, what college has had a quarterback, running back,
- 1:20:43Speaker 3: wide receiver, and tight end drafted during the Super Bowl era?
- 1:20:48Speaker 3: Who have been selected to the Hall of Fame? What
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: college had all those players drafted and all gone to
- 1:20:55Speaker 3: this Hall of Fame? Alabama, Penn State, Notre Dame, Joe Montana,
- 1:21:09Speaker 3: Jerome Bettis, Tim Brown, and Dave Casper.
- 1:21:13Speaker 4: I did not know.
- 1:21:13Speaker 3: Dave.
- 1:21:14Speaker 4: That's a good one. You want to go back to it.
- 1:21:16Speaker 4: I'm thinking about it. No more questions.
- 1:21:19Speaker 9: He's going to put it on the.
- 1:21:22Speaker 4: Alright, give me.
- 1:21:23Speaker 3: One is north Shore or close to nor Short Chris
- 1:21:26Speaker 3: pe but it's up north in Massachusetts, Trevor Lawrence. And
- 1:21:35Speaker 3: the other one is i'd say, you know, on the how.
- 1:21:40Speaker 4: About like give me like a team or something that
- 1:21:42Speaker 4: drafted him. Could be anybody. Uh he played for team
- 1:21:50Speaker 4: I hate wow. That could be no help. That could
- 1:21:55Speaker 4: be many. He's either on the Bills, Jets, Dolphins, Bengals, Steelers, Ravens, Chiefs, Cardinals, Chargers, Raiders.
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: There's a lot of team was having a great season
- 1:22:09Speaker 3: and then got hurt close to the playoffs I think,
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: or maybe it was in the week one of the
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: playoffs there, Watson mass Now.
- 1:22:19Speaker 4: All right, why don't you just tell me Carson Palmer.
- 1:22:22Speaker 4: Palmer Palmer never would have gotten Okay, good one, Brian.
- 1:22:28Speaker 9: That's good because are too deep, that's outside the box,
- 1:22:31Speaker 9: thinking too much.
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: Yeah, let's go to Newton Palmer and Lawrence. Let's go
- 1:22:38Speaker 3: to Christian in Virginia. What's up, Christian?
- 1:22:43Speaker 21: Hey, how's it going?
- 1:22:43Speaker 3: Guys?
- 1:22:46Speaker 22: I got three things. One, I think our chances of
- 1:22:51Speaker 22: getting Key Higgins or DK Metcalf are getting slimmer and
- 1:22:55Speaker 22: slimmer every game that well, every game that they don't play.
- 1:23:00Speaker 22: The Seahawks and the Bengals just can't pull it off.
- 1:23:04Speaker 22: The Seahawks, especially this last game. It was a season
- 1:23:08Speaker 22: low and they didn't have a play longer than twenty yards.
- 1:23:11Speaker 22: DK Metcalf averages like sixteen yards per reception.
- 1:23:19Speaker 9: Metcalf isn't going anywhere.
- 1:23:21Speaker 4: So I don't Yeah, I don't.
- 1:23:23Speaker 9: I don't think he's the only one that has this take.
- 1:23:26Speaker 9: It's not your fall, Christian, So wait a minute, I
- 1:23:29Speaker 9: don't know.
- 1:23:29Speaker 3: I just take this morning that the Patriots could be
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: buyers of it.
- 1:23:33Speaker 4: Oh, we're talking about acquiring a wide receiver right now.
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: Well, they could be buyers of a player that a
- 1:23:38Speaker 3: team wants to unload.
- 1:23:39Speaker 4: Are you talking about a free agency Christian or a trade? Okay?
- 1:23:45Speaker 4: And your point is that because the teams Cincinnati and
- 1:23:50Speaker 4: Seattle haven't played well in the games that those guys
- 1:23:52Speaker 4: haven't played is going to up the level of urgency
- 1:23:56Speaker 4: to resign them. Is that your point? Yeah, Okay, I
- 1:24:00Speaker 4: get what you're saying. I get what you're saying.
- 1:24:03Speaker 9: But DK Metcalf isn't even a free agent. This is
- 1:24:06Speaker 9: a bath take He's on his island about this. DK
- 1:24:09Speaker 9: Metcalf is going to somehow be available for somebody to
- 1:24:12Speaker 9: acquire via trade. And I keep telling him that that
- 1:24:15Speaker 9: is unlikely to happen, and he keeps giving the take out.
- 1:24:18Speaker 4: And I would say, if you think T Higgins is
- 1:24:20Speaker 4: going to be a free agent, I would absolutely Cincinnati
- 1:24:23Speaker 4: is not going to change. Oh we need we need
- 1:24:25Speaker 4: to Cincinnati's yea polly run. So I think there's a
- 1:24:30Speaker 4: good chance that he's going to become available.
- 1:24:32Speaker 9: Has he had three things?
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:24:33Speaker 4: That was one to my.
- 1:24:35Speaker 10: Other point was.
- 1:24:37Speaker 21: I think I think it's kind of dumb when people
- 1:24:40Speaker 21: get upset about running the score up. You know, it's NFL.
- 1:24:43Speaker 21: It's professional football. It's not like Alabama playing some no
- 1:24:46Speaker 21: name school. And I think that's kind of an overblown thing,
- 1:24:51Speaker 21: especially that I saw this week with like the Panthers
- 1:24:54Speaker 21: uh Broncos game. And then my last point something kind
- 1:24:59Speaker 21: of random. I don't know if you guys have seen
- 1:25:01Speaker 21: John Gruden's TikTok but it's very entertaining.
- 1:25:06Speaker 4: That out. And I would just say like this, I
- 1:25:09Speaker 4: think people misunderstand when people talk about running up the score.
- 1:25:14Speaker 4: It's not necessarily because like it, you know, it's it's
- 1:25:17Speaker 4: not like you know, having to watch Tua Tiger value
- 1:25:19Speaker 4: Loa play football and it you know, it upsets you,
- 1:25:22Speaker 4: it makes you, you know, put you in a bad
- 1:25:24Speaker 4: place mentally, right, It's it's just wasted energy. Like I
- 1:25:29Speaker 4: would say, as a you know, as a follower of
- 1:25:31Speaker 4: the two thousand and seven Patriots, I think they wasted
- 1:25:34Speaker 4: time worrying about things that weren't important, like putting fifty
- 1:25:37Speaker 4: on Joe Gibbs. Like I just didn't think that that
- 1:25:40Speaker 4: was worth it.
- 1:25:41Speaker 3: I don't think they wasted time. I think it was
- 1:25:43Speaker 3: easy to do and they did it.
- 1:25:44Speaker 4: Yeah, I just don't think you get anything out of that.
- 1:25:46Speaker 4: I don't really think there's any value in that. Well,
- 1:25:48Speaker 4: what are you gonna do? Field goals? Paul, Yes, that's
- 1:25:51Speaker 4: exactly what you got. That's running up the score. You
- 1:25:53Speaker 4: give them a chance to stop you, No, you take
- 1:25:55Speaker 4: your guys out of the game, So maybe they have
- 1:25:57Speaker 4: a little bit more left. Yeah, that's all I'm saying.
- 1:26:00Speaker 4: Did they do that too. No, no, no, they famously
- 1:26:04Speaker 4: didn't because if you remembered out Jill Arnold explained to
- 1:26:08Speaker 4: us that just can't take them all out because you
- 1:26:10Speaker 4: don't have enough backups. Gollie g Willakers.
- 1:26:14Speaker 9: It's kind of like the equivalent of like, you know,
- 1:26:17Speaker 9: they don't do it as much as now, but like
- 1:26:19Speaker 9: the Slocks used to leave the Jason to get their
- 1:26:21Speaker 9: stats at the end of blowouts and so that Jason
- 1:26:24Speaker 9: Tatum could have thirty points a game for the seasons,
- 1:26:26Speaker 9: they would keep them in the game. And it was like, now,
- 1:26:29Speaker 9: hopefully they've matured and they've realized and I think they
- 1:26:32Speaker 9: have a little bit.
- 1:26:33Speaker 4: Yeah, I think they have a little bit. They don't.
- 1:26:35Speaker 4: They don't stat hump anymore like they used to. And
- 1:26:39Speaker 4: I listen, Detroit, more power to you. You're a really
- 1:26:43Speaker 4: good team. I just think that's waste and energy. I
- 1:26:47Speaker 4: think that you can, you know, you can rest guys
- 1:26:51Speaker 4: a little bit. You can, you know, ensure their health
- 1:26:54Speaker 4: a little bit better. What do you like in the
- 1:26:57Speaker 4: end of the day, what's the difference if you win
- 1:26:59Speaker 4: a Super Bowl but you have a plus ten point
- 1:27:02Speaker 4: differential as opposed to a plus twenty Who cares, But
- 1:27:06Speaker 4: isn't the goal to win the game? No, but you
- 1:27:08Speaker 4: read your lot. I mean they were having fun.
- 1:27:10Speaker 3: They were going in there and they were pumping another
- 1:27:12Speaker 3: one that bites the dust after a game.
- 1:27:14Speaker 4: But ironically that was the most fun they had. And
- 1:27:16Speaker 4: that was a close game twenty four to twenty. There
- 1:27:18Speaker 4: was no but there was no running up to score.
- 1:27:21Speaker 3: I know, but they would have if they could, you know,
- 1:27:24Speaker 3: I know they obviously would have if they could have,
- 1:27:27Speaker 3: because they did it every game that they could.
- 1:27:28Speaker 4: I just don't think you get anything out of that.
- 1:27:31Speaker 4: I don't think there's any value in it. And for
- 1:27:33Speaker 4: a guy like Bill Belichick, who was constantly talking about
- 1:27:37Speaker 4: staying in the moment, worrying about I'm not what's important.
- 1:27:41Speaker 4: I thought, I know you at.
- 1:27:44Speaker 3: The time, I loved it.
- 1:27:46Speaker 4: But I just don't. Just kind of you don't have
- 1:27:50Speaker 4: to agree with that reason either. But it's not because
- 1:27:52Speaker 4: I think it offends the other team. Now, there is
- 1:27:56Speaker 4: part of it, but there's part of it you're being
- 1:27:58Speaker 4: to dB and the call it. Christian was right. Denver
- 1:28:03Speaker 4: was trying to run up the score against Carolina the
- 1:28:04Speaker 4: other day and the Panthers didn't like it, and actually
- 1:28:08Speaker 4: it backfired because they ended up turning the ball over
- 1:28:11Speaker 4: and Carolina ended up scoring a touchdown at the end
- 1:28:13Speaker 4: of the game, and like, just there's energy now being
- 1:28:17Speaker 4: wasted having to defend at the end of a game
- 1:28:19Speaker 4: that should have been over. You know. Obviously an extreme
- 1:28:23Speaker 4: example from two weeks earlier, in a game that had
- 1:28:26Speaker 4: long since been decided and Chris Godwin goes down for
- 1:28:29Speaker 4: the season. You know, it's a hard game to play
- 1:28:33Speaker 4: at the highest level, and I think you're just asking
- 1:28:36Speaker 4: for trouble like that, like losing a player. Now, Tampa
- 1:28:39Speaker 4: was losing, they weren't winning. It wasn't a running up
- 1:28:42Speaker 4: to score kind of a thing. But the game was
- 1:28:44Speaker 4: over in the last minute and they're you know, they're playing.
- 1:28:48Speaker 4: I'm not suggesting that they did that, they did it wrong,
- 1:28:50Speaker 4: but I just think more things like that can happen
- 1:28:55Speaker 4: bad than oh okay, we ended up winning fifty two
- 1:28:58Speaker 4: to fourteen.
- 1:28:59Speaker 6: It's one of my favorite pul parolotics of all time.
- 1:29:01Speaker 6: I love that. That's great. I've never thought about it
- 1:29:03Speaker 6: that way, And that's why I'm not being because.
- 1:29:05Speaker 4: People always go to like the soccer mom, that's what
- 1:29:08Speaker 4: they used to make fun of. So this is maybe
- 1:29:10Speaker 4: this triggers me a little bit because this is back
- 1:29:12Speaker 4: in my big show days when I used to be
- 1:29:14Speaker 4: on EEI, my original station. Fred and I would go
- 1:29:19Speaker 4: in with Glenn wood Way and like Fred Smerlis and
- 1:29:21Speaker 4: Fred would want Fred and Steve you know you guys
- 1:29:24Speaker 4: ruled up to remember Friend and Stave of course, right
- 1:29:27Speaker 4: they you know, if you disagree with them, they would.
- 1:29:29Speaker 4: You know, we're gonna throw you in a locker. You
- 1:29:31Speaker 4: know that That's what it was, right, you know, And
- 1:29:32Speaker 4: it was fun. They weren't being serious about it, but
- 1:29:35Speaker 4: they were. And I would and I would just say like, yeah,
- 1:29:38Speaker 4: like what do you get at it?
- 1:29:40Speaker 14: Like?
- 1:29:40Speaker 4: What is what? What is the end game? Let me
- 1:29:43Speaker 4: is the I always say, like, what's the pluses and minuses? Right?
- 1:29:46Speaker 4: What's the pluses and minuses? To me, the minuses grossly
- 1:29:49Speaker 4: outweigh the pluses. So let me if you lose an
- 1:29:51Speaker 4: important player while you're trying to get a meaning with.
- 1:29:53Speaker 3: Score, so let me ask you a question. If you
- 1:29:55Speaker 3: do sub and the subs continue to score, is that.
- 1:29:58Speaker 4: Okay, Yes you can't.
- 1:30:00Speaker 3: It's all about keeping the player.
- 1:30:01Speaker 4: I'm not suggesting. With nine minutes left in a four
- 1:30:04Speaker 4: touchdown game. You should just go out, take a knee
- 1:30:06Speaker 4: and punt. No, the guys that are on the field
- 1:30:08Speaker 4: need to play right, okay, like you know, but at
- 1:30:12Speaker 4: the same time, you don't need to be throwing bombs bombs.
- 1:30:16Speaker 9: Having the running back throw touchdown passes.
- 1:30:19Speaker 4: You know. As an example, Although I don't know how
- 1:30:21Speaker 4: how late that touchdown was, I want to say it
- 1:30:24Speaker 4: was the second happened, but I certainly they wouldn't be
- 1:30:25Speaker 4: taking fifty one yard field goals to make it fifty two.
- 1:30:28Speaker 3: But it was also part of that, you know, just
- 1:30:31Speaker 3: Bill being pissed off at the league.
- 1:30:33Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, that's what I'm saying it. That's what Dan
- 1:30:36Speaker 4: Campbell's doing right now. That's why I draw the comparison. Yeah,
- 1:30:39Speaker 4: Dan Campbell was bad at what Mike said. Like he
- 1:30:41Speaker 4: thinks they were wronged last year. This all started with
- 1:30:43Speaker 4: the Dallas game, but in a game, right, they were
- 1:30:46Speaker 4: wronged in a game. Yeah, but he thinks that it
- 1:30:49Speaker 4: was the league that has an out for him. It's
- 1:30:51Speaker 4: the same principle.
- 1:30:52Speaker 3: Why would the league have anything out for the Detroit Lions.
- 1:30:55Speaker 4: I don't know. You tell me why they consistently get
- 1:30:57Speaker 4: screwed when it's the biggest spots because I could understand
- 1:31:01Speaker 4: how they feel like that.
- 1:31:03Speaker 3: I don't know, maybe it's more that the league loves
- 1:31:07Speaker 3: the Cowboys.
- 1:31:08Speaker 4: Whatever.
- 1:31:09Speaker 9: Yeah, so it was, it wasn't over yet. It was
- 1:31:12Speaker 9: twenty eight to fourteen when Montgomery threw the touchdown.
- 1:31:15Speaker 4: Yeah, And I just I'm using these as examples, like
- 1:31:21Speaker 4: the Dallas game, they emptied the bucket with these trick
- 1:31:24Speaker 4: plays they had. They had like three or four different
- 1:31:26Speaker 4: things that one I get. I think they're doing it
- 1:31:29Speaker 4: on purpose, and that's I'm not complaining that they're running
- 1:31:33Speaker 4: up the score. I'm just saying, like, can't you.
- 1:31:38Speaker 3: Thing?
- 1:31:38Speaker 4: Can't you better? Especially that team, which I think they kind.
- 1:31:42Speaker 6: Of right, they're feeling themselves a little bit, and they lose.
- 1:31:45Speaker 4: They lose the details on the margins on a regular basis,
- 1:31:48Speaker 4: let alone, when your goal is to win by as
- 1:31:50Speaker 4: many points as opposed to just win.
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: Who's the most overrated team right now in the NFL
- 1:31:56Speaker 3: overrate over It's a big question. I think I've got one.
- 1:32:00Speaker 4: It's a big question. I would have had an answer
- 1:32:04Speaker 4: a couple of like Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, min Pittsburgh would have
- 1:32:07Speaker 4: been my answer. But I think they're going to be
- 1:32:09Speaker 4: playoff fodder. I kind of think that, well, I don't
- 1:32:12Speaker 4: think that they're a contender, so I guess they fit
- 1:32:15Speaker 4: your criteria. Yeah, I will say I've been a little
- 1:32:19Speaker 4: surprised that Russell Wilson, Like I thought, Russell Wilson the
- 1:32:21Speaker 4: first week was a fluke. He was throwing balls up
- 1:32:24Speaker 4: for grabs and Jege Pickens was making ridiculous catches on
- 1:32:27Speaker 4: balls that in a lot of cases bounced off of
- 1:32:30Speaker 4: Jets defenders first. But last night wasn't fluky. Like their
- 1:32:35Speaker 4: offense was good last night.
- 1:32:36Speaker 9: I wouldn't say like overraight, It's probably not the right word.
- 1:32:39Speaker 9: But like, I don't expect Washington to actually make serious noise.
- 1:32:44Speaker 9: I think that they have a really good rookie quarterback.
- 1:32:46Speaker 9: It's had a great year, but I don't when it
- 1:32:50Speaker 9: really becomes, you know, money making time in the playoffs,
- 1:32:53Speaker 9: I don't really expect that.
- 1:32:54Speaker 6: At Baltimore, great one still, So no, I just I
- 1:32:59Speaker 6: can't do it to Lamar.
- 1:33:00Speaker 9: But defense, their defense has not been good, but he's
- 1:33:03Speaker 9: been awesome.
- 1:33:04Speaker 3: Dana Virginia and Michigan. Wasn't there a reason why the
- 1:33:07Speaker 3: Patriots ran up the score against Washington and seven. I
- 1:33:10Speaker 3: vaguely remember Gibbs something about Bill Belichick having an axe
- 1:33:13Speaker 3: to grind, specifically with Joe Gibbs.
- 1:33:15Speaker 4: Yep, that's the theory. I mean that's not what was
- 1:33:19Speaker 4: it that he didn't like Joe Gibbs from his NFC.
- 1:33:21Speaker 9: Easters Yeah eighties Redskins.
- 1:33:24Speaker 4: Yeah, now that's not like that doesn't mean that's fact,
- 1:33:27Speaker 4: but that's the general consensus at the time was right,
- 1:33:30Speaker 4: he doesn't like you did something. Do you remember when
- 1:33:32Speaker 4: we used to go to every game and we would
- 1:33:34Speaker 4: figure out by the end of the game, like you know,
- 1:33:36Speaker 4: every once in a while, they would just take a
- 1:33:38Speaker 4: knee and run the clock out and there he must
- 1:33:40Speaker 4: he must like Fred Kursh you know, do you remember that?
- 1:33:43Speaker 4: You know that's how that's how bad that you know,
- 1:33:45Speaker 4: like they went undefeated. These are the things that we
- 1:33:47Speaker 4: talked about these games. Oh, he must not have an
- 1:33:50Speaker 4: extra grind with him.
- 1:33:54Speaker 3: John writes in he says, I have an apology to
- 1:33:56Speaker 3: sexual assault. Wanted to apologize for Mike to Mike for
- 1:34:02Speaker 3: saying he was moving the goalpost in the Sunday post
- 1:34:04Speaker 3: game show. Finding out it was his computer networking that
- 1:34:08Speaker 3: was causing the frustration. I can imagine the ride home now,
- 1:34:12Speaker 3: no music playing, just a straight face Mike in the
- 1:34:14Speaker 3: open road. Also, can you talk about the good game
- 1:34:18Speaker 3: Gonzo had. I love hearing the micd up when his
- 1:34:21Speaker 3: coach said, be ready, they're coming at you here. Yeah,
- 1:34:24Speaker 3: that was a little NFL film's magic there.
- 1:34:26Speaker 4: Nice.
- 1:34:27Speaker 6: I appreciate it. I appreciate that. That was very true.
- 1:34:29Speaker 6: I was very flustering.
- 1:34:30Speaker 9: I have not seen you quite that fall.
- 1:34:32Speaker 8: I mean, imagine this, the game is unfolding, it's the
- 1:34:35Speaker 8: final drive. Everybody knows what happened, and it's like you're
- 1:34:38Speaker 8: like everybody's on edge, and I'm like, try to type
- 1:34:41Speaker 8: a sentence. It's there, and then all of a sudden
- 1:34:43Speaker 8: it's gone, you know. And then I like, so I
- 1:34:45Speaker 8: reload the page. You know, this is what you're going through,
- 1:34:48Speaker 8: and you're looking up like the place going off and
- 1:34:49Speaker 8: you know.
- 1:34:50Speaker 6: So I just didn't enjoy the win at all. And
- 1:34:53Speaker 6: I got home and I.
- 1:34:54Speaker 8: Was just so like, God, I'm like in a bad
- 1:34:56Speaker 8: mood right now, and they won the game, Like what
- 1:34:58Speaker 8: the hell? And then so, like I said, I watched it,
- 1:35:00Speaker 8: I just put it.
- 1:35:01Speaker 6: You get to be proud with Fred, right, I didn't
- 1:35:04Speaker 6: know I wasn't proud. I was just like stupid comp.
- 1:35:06Speaker 9: Always tell you the back. I tell you this all
- 1:35:10Speaker 9: the time. I write those old dogs, and then you
- 1:35:13Speaker 9: copy and paste it the time. We keep telling you asking.
- 1:35:19Speaker 3: That you're writing right into That's dumb, that really is
- 1:35:24Speaker 3: I live on the edge do that.
- 1:35:25Speaker 4: I don't really.
- 1:35:26Speaker 6: I want to publish immediately, but it doesn't really.
- 1:35:29Speaker 3: Say you know, as you're done, you copy and paste,
- 1:35:32Speaker 3: you put it in.
- 1:35:34Speaker 9: I hit her three years.
- 1:35:37Speaker 4: I can't believe that even even the young tech guy
- 1:35:40Speaker 4: is telling you not to do that.
- 1:35:42Speaker 8: It's not just the old In my defense, I couldn't
- 1:35:44Speaker 8: even get into Google Docs during the during the.
- 1:35:48Speaker 6: US, I wasn't I was using one of the.
- 1:35:50Speaker 3: What are you doing?
- 1:35:51Speaker 9: I don't even know how you do how you write?
- 1:35:54Speaker 3: He's using the tablet.
- 1:35:57Speaker 6: I live on the end of the game.
- 1:35:58Speaker 4: Why don't you just use your phone? That's what would
- 1:36:00Speaker 4: do well? Why don't you just dictate that?
- 1:36:04Speaker 9: That's also partially why I use Google Docs is because
- 1:36:07Speaker 9: then I can access it on all my devices. So
- 1:36:09Speaker 9: like when we are in game, I'll write on my
- 1:36:11Speaker 9: laptop and then when I go down to the locker room,
- 1:36:13Speaker 9: it's still there on my phone, so then I can
- 1:36:16Speaker 9: keep writing.
- 1:36:17Speaker 6: All right, I'll come up with something new for everybody.
- 1:36:20Speaker 4: I definitely need to do more with Google Docs because
- 1:36:22Speaker 4: I don't really know.
- 1:36:24Speaker 9: If I could everything on my phone when we're on
- 1:36:27Speaker 9: the road, I would never publish in time because like
- 1:36:31Speaker 9: how would I be able to?
- 1:36:32Speaker 6: You know, but do you write into pocket on your
- 1:36:34Speaker 6: You just write into Google Docs and then and then yeah,
- 1:36:36Speaker 6: as soon as we get on to publish.
- 1:36:38Speaker 4: So well, that's the other thing that you can know.
- 1:36:40Speaker 4: I do it myself, but just send it to the squad.
- 1:36:43Speaker 9: Yeah, I do it myself. But by the time we're
- 1:36:45Speaker 9: on the bus, I've already written the entire game observations
- 1:36:49Speaker 9: is done on my phone, and then I copy it.
- 1:36:53Speaker 4: Great inside Baseball, see.
- 1:36:54Speaker 8: I just the hard part with writing on your phone though,
- 1:36:56Speaker 8: was like I think it's something, and I got to
- 1:36:58Speaker 8: go back up and then I got to like get
- 1:36:59Speaker 8: the cursor and then I can't.
- 1:37:01Speaker 3: Oh, I could never write.
- 1:37:02Speaker 4: I can't. I can't write on my phone.
- 1:37:03Speaker 6: That's without this multiple fat finger.
- 1:37:06Speaker 4: I'm not saying I've never done it, but like, if
- 1:37:09Speaker 4: I have any kind of choice, I would that would
- 1:37:11Speaker 4: be my last resort.
- 1:37:12Speaker 6: I still miss the BlackBerry push do some of my
- 1:37:14Speaker 6: best miss my phone?
- 1:37:16Speaker 4: Wow, you know that was the original phone that we
- 1:37:19Speaker 4: got from from Freddy. You know, I don't remember that.
- 1:37:22Speaker 4: It was very brief. I never got one. By the
- 1:37:24Speaker 4: time we got them, they kind of were already on
- 1:37:26Speaker 4: the way out and becoming obsolete.
- 1:37:28Speaker 3: Figuthing.
- 1:37:29Speaker 9: Do you want some NFL news to get us off? Yeah,
- 1:37:33Speaker 9: we got The Colts have made a quarterback change.
- 1:37:37Speaker 4: Not surprised by that.
- 1:37:38Speaker 9: Anthony Richardson to the bench and Joe Flacco the starter.
- 1:37:41Speaker 4: And when do we play the Colts?
- 1:37:45Speaker 9: Not not too long from that.
- 1:37:46Speaker 4: That's not good for the Patriots. That game becomes much
- 1:37:49Speaker 4: more difficult with an actual quarterback.
- 1:37:51Speaker 9: Passes and Stefan Diggs. Your boy torn a c l
- 1:37:55Speaker 9: out for the season.
- 1:37:56Speaker 4: Oh, I didn't know he got hurt?
- 1:37:58Speaker 6: Yes?
- 1:38:00Speaker 4: Did I miss that on?
- 1:38:00Speaker 9: That's been your update?
- 1:38:01Speaker 3: He did?
- 1:38:02Speaker 6: No, I know, I knew he got hurt. They were
- 1:38:04Speaker 6: They said it didn't look good.
- 1:38:05Speaker 4: I should have known. That's why you were sad, did you?
- 1:38:07Speaker 6: Guys? See though, Anthony Richardson tapping out.
- 1:38:09Speaker 4: Well, that's what I'm saying. You can't stiking, but that's
- 1:38:14Speaker 4: what you have to do. Like you absolutely positively have
- 1:38:17Speaker 4: to do that move. You can't let a guide do.
- 1:38:19Speaker 4: Did you see how many guys that have been in
- 1:38:21Speaker 4: the NFL? It said, I've never literally never seen this before.
- 1:38:25Speaker 3: You need a blowcoach.
- 1:38:26Speaker 4: I'm tired of what's going on. I need a blow.
- 1:38:30Speaker 6: Like, what's he doing the rest of the offensive cornerator?
- 1:38:34Speaker 4: He did? He literally just Donevan McNabb throw up in
- 1:38:37Speaker 4: the right.
- 1:38:37Speaker 6: Right, but you stay in there.
- 1:38:40Speaker 4: That's that's the point, Fred, Even the guy who was
- 1:38:43Speaker 4: throwing up in the huddle didn't tap out right.
- 1:38:46Speaker 9: Anthony Richardson is like the guy that everybody thought Drake
- 1:38:49Speaker 9: may was, which is like in college, you could put
- 1:38:52Speaker 9: like five amazing throws in a highlight package, but then
- 1:38:56Speaker 9: the rest of it is just an absolute disaster.
- 1:38:58Speaker 4: He's had more like ten to thirty two's right than
- 1:39:00Speaker 4: you can.
- 1:39:01Speaker 6: And like five of them are all like thirty two.
- 1:39:02Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 1:39:04Speaker 9: Like he has these unbelievable big time throws down the field,
- 1:39:07Speaker 9: but then he just can't hit like a slam I mean.
- 1:39:10Speaker 3: Athlete. He needed a lot of work and he missed
- 1:39:13Speaker 3: those work seasons. Who knows who knew of like playing
- 1:39:17Speaker 3: more games might have helped him ah.
- 1:39:22Speaker 4: Good shot shot? Uh, North Carolina?
- 1:39:25Speaker 3: What's up?
- 1:39:25Speaker 4: Todd?
- 1:39:27Speaker 23: Hey, guys, I just want to thank you guys for
- 1:39:30Speaker 23: keeping it real. For some of these other stations, I
- 1:39:32Speaker 23: don't even like reading their stop or listening doesn't because
- 1:39:36Speaker 23: they have these weird, bizarre takes on everything and come on, like,
- 1:39:40Speaker 23: we've got a rookie head coach, a rookie defensive coach,
- 1:39:43Speaker 23: a ricky offensive coach. And I looked up. I think,
- 1:39:47Speaker 23: didn't Jakobe just play like three or two gamest year?
- 1:39:50Speaker 23: Wasn't he with Washington or something?
- 1:39:52Speaker 2: He wasn't wasn't.
- 1:39:53Speaker 23: Ready to go this year. Really, he didn't have a
- 1:39:55Speaker 23: full year last year, and they had to try to
- 1:39:56Speaker 23: prep him up. And then they're working on May and
- 1:39:59Speaker 23: we've got to make shift everything, we've got to rebuild.
- 1:40:03Speaker 4: I'm wanting names, Todd. Who are these other stations?
- 1:40:08Speaker 3: Yeah? Who?
- 1:40:09Speaker 4: Come on?
- 1:40:10Speaker 3: So it was a little bit of the musket thing, guys.
- 1:40:15Speaker 4: W e I okay, I haven't heard anyone say that
- 1:40:18Speaker 4: they're not interview.
- 1:40:19Speaker 3: I have to be honest, right, Yeah, the musket fires.
- 1:40:22Speaker 10: You guys are keeping realistic.
- 1:40:23Speaker 23: We should celebrate our wins. And I like, why you
- 1:40:27Speaker 23: look at us We shouldn't have win. We brought so annoying.
- 1:40:31Speaker 4: So your boys, Mike, I'm gonna blame you and your
- 1:40:35Speaker 4: musket fired because I was looking for the people who
- 1:40:39Speaker 4: actually said that bloggers.
- 1:40:41Speaker 6: Aren't being positive. That doesn't sound right.
- 1:40:43Speaker 9: It does feel like this win as much as we
- 1:40:45Speaker 9: are excited about it, Like we talked about it after
- 1:40:48Speaker 9: sustainability factor after week one, and it's the same thing,
- 1:40:51Speaker 9: like there's no.
- 1:40:52Speaker 3: You're not going to play a team that's just melting
- 1:40:54Speaker 3: down in front of your eyes.
- 1:40:56Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean I think this one out of every
- 1:40:58Speaker 4: far right every five games, right.
- 1:41:00Speaker 9: I think the stat was teams that score twenty plus points,
- 1:41:05Speaker 9: zero turnovers and give up fewer than two hundred and
- 1:41:08Speaker 9: fifty yards. We're seven hundred and fifty and oh right
- 1:41:12Speaker 9: in NFL history until the Jets. On Sunday, I heard
- 1:41:15Speaker 9: that seven hundred and fifty and one.
- 1:41:17Speaker 4: That's the most Jets things.
- 1:41:18Speaker 9: So just putting into perspective like that's how little sustainability
- 1:41:25Speaker 9: and I would.
- 1:41:26Speaker 4: I would just say, like, what the numbers are, what
- 1:41:28Speaker 4: the numbers are? Seven hundred and fifty and oh is unbelievable.
- 1:41:31Speaker 4: Yeah right. I think it's a little misleading to say
- 1:41:34Speaker 4: like without with no turnovers when no, they technically didn't
- 1:41:39Speaker 4: turn the ball over. They missed a field goal, two
- 1:41:42Speaker 4: extra points, three delay of games right, used all the
- 1:41:45Speaker 4: timeouts in the first quarter, snap the ball to under
- 1:41:49Speaker 4: center when the quarterback was in the shotgun. I mean
- 1:41:52Speaker 4: they turned the ball out, allowed a sixty two yard
- 1:41:55Speaker 4: part return. I mean there's a lot of turnover like plays.
- 1:41:58Speaker 5: In at it.
- 1:41:58Speaker 4: They turned the game over absolutely, you know, but technically
- 1:42:01Speaker 4: they did not turn the ball over.
- 1:42:03Speaker 3: That's what do you think is gonna happen? I mean,
- 1:42:06Speaker 3: you know Woody Johnson, uh, you know, got rid of Salah.
- 1:42:11Speaker 3: Do you think that he's going to do something like
- 1:42:13Speaker 3: this week like fire somebody else?
- 1:42:16Speaker 4: I think he just got to play it out.
- 1:42:17Speaker 6: At this point, they're out of moves. I think they're.
- 1:42:19Speaker 9: Fascinated to see what they do, though, because you can't
- 1:42:23Speaker 9: be beholden to Rogers. If he's going to like this,
- 1:42:25Speaker 9: like if he was going to play like an MVP,
- 1:42:27Speaker 9: then you can be but you can't be beholden to Rodgers.
- 1:42:30Speaker 9: He's gonna play like this, So you're not going to
- 1:42:31Speaker 9: hire the next head coach for Aaron Rodgers. Like It's
- 1:42:35Speaker 9: not like if Mike McCarthy gets fired in Dallas, that
- 1:42:37Speaker 9: they should be hiring Mike McCarthy go.
- 1:42:40Speaker 4: Twenty more minutes. It was a really good one that
- 1:42:42Speaker 4: Florido throughout it today. Do you think you think if
- 1:42:46Speaker 4: someone gets hurt this week that someone would want to
- 1:42:49Speaker 4: trade for Aaron Rodgers, Like if some team that loses
- 1:42:53Speaker 4: their starring quarterback. Yeah, Like how it changes so fast
- 1:42:59Speaker 4: the narrative.
- 1:43:01Speaker 3: Christians in LA. What's up, Christian.
- 1:43:04Speaker 10: Guys?
- 1:43:04Speaker 4: How are you?
- 1:43:05Speaker 6: Today's good?
- 1:43:07Speaker 12: Great?
- 1:43:08Speaker 10: But my most overrated team right now is the Minnesota Viking. Well,
- 1:43:12Speaker 10: I'm happy for Sam Donald soa final finally coming on
- 1:43:17Speaker 10: and researching as a competent quarterback. I don't think it's
- 1:43:20Speaker 10: sustainable as far as as far as our team goes.
- 1:43:23Speaker 10: Like the gentleman before me just said, hey, I'm just
- 1:43:26Speaker 10: enjoying the Royds this year. I'm seeing mainly for me,
- 1:43:29Speaker 10: if this system can be a workable system with better athletes.
- 1:43:33Speaker 10: What do you guys think?
- 1:43:35Speaker 9: Yeah, that's a that's sort of how I watched these games.
- 1:43:39Speaker 9: When I watch them back, especially is more okay, you know,
- 1:43:42Speaker 9: no offense to any of the players that are on
- 1:43:44Speaker 9: the field. But if this is T Higgins instead of
- 1:43:47Speaker 9: wide receiver X. I don't want to name anybody specifically,
- 1:43:51Speaker 9: but is it would this be better? And would this work?
- 1:43:54Speaker 9: And like the obvious answer is yes, But I still
- 1:43:57Speaker 9: think offensively, they're they're they're not a very innovative offense.
- 1:44:02Speaker 9: Like I don't think that it's an offense. It's not sound,
- 1:44:05Speaker 9: but it's just not very creative or innovative. I don't
- 1:44:08Speaker 9: think they've really.
- 1:44:09Speaker 3: Had a chance yet to do that type of thing.
- 1:44:11Speaker 9: Yeah, maybe right now, which is not his in his
- 1:44:14Speaker 9: typical it's not an a VP's DNA to be.
- 1:44:17Speaker 3: Like, I just I can't make a judgment yet one
- 1:44:21Speaker 3: way or the other. I just don't think they've had
- 1:44:23Speaker 3: enough opportunity yet. You you know, as billys to say,
- 1:44:26Speaker 3: we're just trying to get the you know, center quarterback exchange.
- 1:44:29Speaker 4: The Jets are still doing it. You know, I think
- 1:44:31Speaker 4: this didn't work.
- 1:44:32Speaker 3: There's a lot of stuff we're working through before we
- 1:44:34Speaker 3: get to that point where we can be creative.
- 1:44:37Speaker 9: I would say that there's also you know, since the
- 1:44:39Speaker 9: past protection is settled down, you see some of their
- 1:44:43Speaker 9: route combinations actually start to take hold and like you know,
- 1:44:46Speaker 9: work and create space, do things like that and That's
- 1:44:49Speaker 9: why I was talking about at the beginning of the show,
- 1:44:51Speaker 9: like now that they have some time back there for
- 1:44:53Speaker 9: the quarterbacks to let these plays develop, suddenly you are
- 1:44:56Speaker 9: seeing some bigger plays down the field. You are seeing
- 1:44:58Speaker 9: some of those route combinations work. Well, I just don't
- 1:45:02Speaker 9: see them the way they present plays, you know, formations, motion,
- 1:45:07Speaker 9: things like that, Like they don't do that the way
- 1:45:09Speaker 9: that the type pantskys do it.
- 1:45:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:45:11Speaker 8: I had similar kind of thoughts watching the defense, thinking about,
- 1:45:14Speaker 8: you know, what's the real nose tackle. What's this defense
- 1:45:16Speaker 8: look like with a real nose tackle in here? Somebody
- 1:45:18Speaker 8: who's really controlling the middle of the line. Well, not
- 1:45:23Speaker 8: not him, not him, not him, because he was getting
- 1:45:26Speaker 8: off to you know, they're playing him off the side something.
- 1:45:27Speaker 8: But same thing with the edge, you know. I mean,
- 1:45:30Speaker 8: I like Jennings. I wish Jennings could rush the passer.
- 1:45:32Speaker 8: I wish he had something, but he you know, it's
- 1:45:35Speaker 8: just a he's a big physical guy. He's going to
- 1:45:37Speaker 8: try to throw a little shimi and get around, but
- 1:45:39Speaker 8: he doesn't have you know, moves. I like him, I mean,
- 1:45:41Speaker 8: I like him being part of the team, but they
- 1:45:43Speaker 8: need somebody who's in every down edge rusher that you
- 1:45:46Speaker 8: know you get bar more back and you got White,
- 1:45:48Speaker 8: You're really cooking.
- 1:45:49Speaker 3: Then I think, yep, let's see David Maine right saying.
- 1:45:54Speaker 3: I'll start by saying that I hope Drake is okay
- 1:45:57Speaker 3: and makes a speedy recovery. Mayo mentioned on Monday that
- 1:46:00Speaker 3: it was the league that called down to have May
- 1:46:02Speaker 3: brought to the locker room for a concussion assessment. Do
- 1:46:05Speaker 3: you find yet a little suspect that just a few
- 1:46:08Speaker 3: short weeks ago, Josh Allen was not unconscious and was
- 1:46:12Speaker 3: sniffing smelling salts on the sideline, but only missed one play.
- 1:46:16Speaker 3: Rewind to last year in the AFC Championship, Mahomes took
- 1:46:19Speaker 3: a blow to the head that broke a chunk out
- 1:46:21Speaker 3: of his helmet. No locker room for him. It seems
- 1:46:25Speaker 3: to me that player safety comes first as long as
- 1:46:27Speaker 3: they don't have to pull a star. I know this
- 1:46:30Speaker 3: sounds insensitive, but I only bring this up because after
- 1:46:33Speaker 3: May's hit, he threw a beautiful pass while on the run.
- 1:46:36Speaker 3: Then Mayo said that May really wanted to go back.
- 1:46:39Speaker 3: Now he'll probably have to miss at least one more game.
- 1:46:41Speaker 3: All I'm saying is that the league needs to be consistent.
- 1:46:44Speaker 3: Does anyone to know does anyone even know what the
- 1:46:49Speaker 3: concussion of the proto call is? Specifically? I googled it
- 1:46:52Speaker 3: and all I could find is that it's a five
- 1:46:54Speaker 3: step process.
- 1:46:55Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean I could tell I'm not going to
- 1:46:56Speaker 9: sit here and bog down the whole show telling you
- 1:46:58Speaker 9: the five step process. But some of the b reporters
- 1:47:01Speaker 9: I saw, I think Mark Daniels put out like the
- 1:47:05Speaker 9: entire five step process word for word, if you are
- 1:47:08Speaker 9: really that interested in it. The throw that he made
- 1:47:11Speaker 9: after the concussion was the one to Booty that Booty
- 1:47:13Speaker 9: dropped on third down. That was the good throw that
- 1:47:16Speaker 9: he made. That happened after he significantly got didn't he.
- 1:47:21Speaker 4: Get sacked after that? And then the next drive coming
- 1:47:25Speaker 4: out the second quarter.
- 1:47:26Speaker 9: He did get sacked once. I don't remember when exactly
- 1:47:29Speaker 9: it was.
- 1:47:29Speaker 4: I don't think he completed any path. I don't think
- 1:47:31Speaker 4: he threw any that. The Thornton pass definitely happened before before.
- 1:47:35Speaker 3: Yeah, what about though, you know we remember Josh Allen
- 1:47:39Speaker 3: getting him and he.
- 1:47:40Speaker 4: Didn't have a concussion. Well, how do they know because
- 1:47:43Speaker 4: they evaluated him on the sideline.
- 1:47:46Speaker 3: I mean, like, if he's unconscious.
- 1:47:48Speaker 4: That's okay, Okay, So when was he unconscious? That's what
- 1:47:52Speaker 4: he said. No, he didn't, that's what the emailers. That's
- 1:47:55Speaker 4: what the emailer said. He didn't say he was unconscious.
- 1:47:57Speaker 3: Yeah he did.
- 1:47:58Speaker 4: The emailer said, he's on he was unconscious.
- 1:48:00Speaker 9: Josh Allen was No.
- 1:48:02Speaker 4: The emailer said that Josh Allen was unconscious. I watched
- 1:48:05Speaker 4: the game. He wasn't unconscious.
- 1:48:06Speaker 3: I didn't say that.
- 1:48:07Speaker 4: They made him go off the field telling you what
- 1:48:08Speaker 4: he wanted.
- 1:48:09Speaker 3: To stay on. The emailer said he was unconscious and
- 1:48:11Speaker 3: then he was sniffing smelling salts.
- 1:48:13Speaker 4: Okay, so that's that's a lie. Okay, Like that's a lie,
- 1:48:17Speaker 4: David Man, you're a liar. Well, he wasn't. I was
- 1:48:20Speaker 4: watching the game. That was a red zone.
- 1:48:22Speaker 24: Was a weekend at Bernie's possession where they were just
- 1:48:24Speaker 24: kind of like he also just Drake May did not
- 1:48:27Speaker 24: look right after he took that hit, and it kind
- 1:48:30Speaker 24: of took him a second to get up, and I.
- 1:48:32Speaker 4: Think that the NFL made a mistake not pulling him
- 1:48:36Speaker 4: off the field, like this whole thing that the NFL
- 1:48:38Speaker 4: made him. But they were about fifteen minutes late. Zoe
- 1:48:43Speaker 4: Live on the broadcast said he's slow getting up here.
- 1:48:48Speaker 4: He saw it like these guys when they leave the
- 1:48:52Speaker 4: game and they have to go to get evaluated. Not
- 1:48:54Speaker 4: everybody has a concussion. Right now, you can make an
- 1:48:58Speaker 4: argument that he really did have a concussion, and they
- 1:49:00Speaker 4: said that he didn't. I don't know. I didn't do
- 1:49:02Speaker 4: the medical evaluation. I can't speak intelligently on that.
- 1:49:06Speaker 3: And I would think with all the you know, she's
- 1:49:09Speaker 3: money and scrutiny the league has been over the years
- 1:49:12Speaker 3: and the lawsuit with the concussions, the last thing that
- 1:49:15Speaker 3: they want is to be found out that they're giving
- 1:49:18Speaker 3: preferential treatment to stars.
- 1:49:20Speaker 4: What comes to the well, how about a guy was
- 1:49:22Speaker 4: unconscious on the field and they didn't make him go
- 1:49:25Speaker 4: to the locker room?
- 1:49:26Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:49:26Speaker 4: Does that make any sense to anybody? That's what he said.
- 1:49:30Speaker 4: But I'm asking you if you think that makes sense.
- 1:49:32Speaker 3: It does.
- 1:49:32Speaker 4: I don't think that that defense. Pat McAfee is the
- 1:49:34Speaker 4: one that's been saying he was knocked out.
- 1:49:36Speaker 15: I'm looking at it right now.
- 1:49:37Speaker 4: He wasn't knocked out. In Pat McAfee, you're a liar.
- 1:49:42Speaker 9: This is just mine. Something happened I missed. I do
- 1:49:45Speaker 9: think that in just my opinion. I think this does
- 1:49:47Speaker 9: happen in the playoffs.
- 1:49:48Speaker 4: There's no question that happened to Julian Edelman.
- 1:49:50Speaker 9: Right, I was going to bring up Edelman. I believe
- 1:49:54Speaker 9: after the fact has admitted that he was definitely.
- 1:49:56Speaker 4: Oh yes, he said he didn't remember what down it was. Yeah.
- 1:50:00Speaker 9: Yeah, But so it does happen when the State High
- 1:50:04Speaker 9: it happens in a meaning not meaningless, but a regular
- 1:50:08Speaker 9: season game in the middle of October. I don't think
- 1:50:10Speaker 9: that that's happening.
- 1:50:11Speaker 4: But there's a difference between getting your bell rung and
- 1:50:13Speaker 4: getting you know, impossibly have a concussion and being knocked out. Yeah, Like,
- 1:50:17Speaker 4: do you believe that Patrick Mahomes was was knocked out
- 1:50:20Speaker 4: in the playoffs last year?
- 1:50:21Speaker 3: Well, he talked about he was talking about the other guy, Josh.
- 1:50:24Speaker 4: Do you believe that Josh Allen knock Well, I saw
- 1:50:26Speaker 4: that he wasn't. Okay, So why are you get busted
- 1:50:28Speaker 4: my chops about.
- 1:50:29Speaker 3: Him because you were telling me that that he didn't
- 1:50:32Speaker 3: say that.
- 1:50:33Speaker 4: I said he, I said he wasn't knock. No, But
- 1:50:35Speaker 4: you say he didn't say that.
- 1:50:36Speaker 3: I said, no, he did say it.
- 1:50:37Speaker 4: That's what you were saying. Oh okay, Yeah, my bad.
- 1:50:43Speaker 6: It's like he wasn't Like I.
- 1:50:48Speaker 4: Just every time this all gets back to the tour thing.
- 1:50:50Speaker 4: For me, it really does. Every time someone gets hit,
- 1:50:54Speaker 4: it's the end of a guy's life, and.
- 1:50:56Speaker 3: It's just right.
- 1:50:58Speaker 4: It's a there's a lot of risk that's involved in
- 1:51:01Speaker 4: the sport. Guys are going to get concussions. I didn't
- 1:51:05Speaker 4: see anybody the Miami game here about three or four
- 1:51:09Speaker 4: weeks ago, a Chan got lit up by Jalen Hawkins
- 1:51:13Speaker 4: right in front of the Dolphins bench. He went down
- 1:51:17Speaker 4: with the fencing position, and no one said a word
- 1:51:20Speaker 4: about it. I've heard so many people claim that they've
- 1:51:24Speaker 4: never seen the fencing position other than from Tua. I've
- 1:51:28Speaker 4: seen that at least even once a year, every year
- 1:51:32Speaker 4: i've watched the game.
- 1:51:34Speaker 6: I also heard a lot of yes, yeah.
- 1:51:37Speaker 9: After it happened to May, Like I had a lot
- 1:51:39Speaker 9: of people and I mentioned saying that he's now he's
- 1:51:41Speaker 9: got to wear the Guardian cap and they're gonna have to,
- 1:51:44Speaker 9: you know how what's his long term like health implications
- 1:51:48Speaker 9: of this. And I'm not trying to make light of
- 1:51:50Speaker 9: concussions or anything like that.
- 1:51:52Speaker 3: But I think other people try to like like tell you,
- 1:51:55Speaker 3: like Paul said, it's the end of their career.
- 1:51:57Speaker 4: Yeah, like, like every single hit is a referendum on
- 1:52:00Speaker 4: the future of the person the league. You know, in
- 1:52:04Speaker 4: this case, it's cheating. They're rooting for the you know,
- 1:52:08Speaker 4: they're allowing stuff for stars like Mahomes and Allen that
- 1:52:11Speaker 4: they won't for a rookie. Like not everything is it
- 1:52:15Speaker 4: like an uncovered like conspiracy.
- 1:52:19Speaker 3: Let's talk about good things. Ben Brown Patrick in Connecticut
- 1:52:23Speaker 3: rights and been listening for about three years now. I
- 1:52:25Speaker 3: want to say I love the show. Wanted to bring
- 1:52:28Speaker 3: up Ben Brown. I feel like I haven't heard anything
- 1:52:30Speaker 3: about his play since taking over the center spot. I'm
- 1:52:33Speaker 3: not a deep in the woods guy when it comes
- 1:52:35Speaker 3: to stats, but I like what I've seen. Was wondering
- 1:52:38Speaker 3: if he's someone who has surprised you, and do you
- 1:52:41Speaker 3: feel like he has a longer future than just this year.
- 1:52:46Speaker 9: I would say he's certainly surprised me because he's a
- 1:52:48Speaker 9: guy off the scrap he that's starting games for the
- 1:52:51Speaker 9: Patriots and doesn't look totally out of place. I would
- 1:52:54Speaker 9: just say that Quentin Williams ate his lunch money a
- 1:52:56Speaker 9: little bit in this game, But like Quinn Williams, an
- 1:52:58Speaker 9: all pro player.
- 1:52:59Speaker 6: And David Andrews lunch More and.
- 1:53:02Speaker 9: Like literally every time they played the Jets, Quinn Williams
- 1:53:04Speaker 9: is in the backfield one hundred times. So it's like,
- 1:53:06Speaker 9: I'm not trying to hold that against Ben Brown, but
- 1:53:09Speaker 9: I would say the one thing that stands out to
- 1:53:11Speaker 9: me is that he's a bigger center, and that has
- 1:53:16Speaker 9: helped him out maybe at times in the run game
- 1:53:18Speaker 9: a little bit, that he has a little bit more
- 1:53:20Speaker 9: size to him than some of the typical centers that
- 1:53:23Speaker 9: you see. But I still think he's a backup. Like
- 1:53:26Speaker 9: I haven't seen enough to say that he's a starting center.
- 1:53:28Speaker 6: I just say too, like we saw so many boss
- 1:53:30Speaker 6: snaps this summer that.
- 1:53:31Speaker 9: Hasn't been a problem. Yeah, And he's making all the
- 1:53:33Speaker 9: line calls too, which I is remarkable. Like he started
- 1:53:36Speaker 9: the game against Houston, he had been there for like
- 1:53:39Speaker 9: a cup of coffee and he's already making line calls
- 1:53:42Speaker 9: with a rookie quarterback, and that's really impressive.
- 1:53:46Speaker 3: So I don't I'm asking because I don't know in
- 1:53:48Speaker 3: order to make line calls, do you have to know
- 1:53:51Speaker 3: the playbook or is it something else the protections?
- 1:53:54Speaker 9: Yeah, Yeah, so like that's not easy no, no, and
- 1:53:57Speaker 9: they they they've simplified some of their protections, which I
- 1:54:00Speaker 9: think has actually worked out in their favor. So they're
- 1:54:02Speaker 9: doing a lot of like half slide and then locked
- 1:54:05Speaker 9: on the backside into man to man, so like that,
- 1:54:08Speaker 9: I actually think that that's helped the past protection settle
- 1:54:11Speaker 9: down a little bit. It's less five man slides, moving pockets,
- 1:54:15Speaker 9: things like that. But it's hard, like he has to
- 1:54:18Speaker 9: point out the mics and it's not. None of that
- 1:54:21Speaker 9: is on the quarterback in this offense like it has
- 1:54:23Speaker 9: been in the past, So it's different.
- 1:54:25Speaker 3: Okay, Paul. On the shirt that you're wearing, though, is
- 1:54:28Speaker 3: that that's not a quarters?
- 1:54:29Speaker 4: Is that a half zip?
- 1:54:30Speaker 3: Is that what it's considered low quarters?
- 1:54:33Speaker 4: It's not a quarter, it's a quarter.
- 1:54:35Speaker 3: How can that be a quarter zip? It's only a quarters?
- 1:54:39Speaker 4: Fred hates me? You agree.
- 1:54:43Speaker 6: I think it's at least the third zip.
- 1:54:44Speaker 4: Yeah, that's not that.
- 1:54:47Speaker 9: It's a three quarters zip.
- 1:54:48Speaker 4: This is Fred's half.
- 1:54:49Speaker 6: Fred's a full zip.
- 1:54:50Speaker 3: It's a half sip.
- 1:54:51Speaker 4: I think there's much more shirt at the bottom of the.
- 1:54:53Speaker 3: Yeah, but you can't count the last you know, that's
- 1:54:56Speaker 3: a half if it goes below your nipples.
- 1:54:58Speaker 4: That's a half zip below the nipples.
- 1:55:00Speaker 3: Yeah, it's below the nipples.
- 1:55:04Speaker 6: It's up here.
- 1:55:04Speaker 4: It's a quarters. A little lower than that.
- 1:55:07Speaker 3: It's a quarter zip. That's a quarter.
- 1:55:10Speaker 9: We've had some good ones today.
- 1:55:12Speaker 4: That's a quarters.
- 1:55:13Speaker 6: It's the full sip guy calling everybody out over here.
- 1:55:16Speaker 4: He's young and hip. Now with the you know little
- 1:55:19Speaker 4: zip zips, you know, sweaterwater, take it out of my murray,
- 1:55:25Speaker 4: you want to you want to wear? Do you want
- 1:55:27Speaker 4: to wear a sweater or a vest? To make up
- 1:55:29Speaker 4: your mind?
- 1:55:30Speaker 3: It's a sweater.
- 1:55:31Speaker 4: It can't decide what it wants to be.
- 1:55:32Speaker 3: Really, Why sleeves.
- 1:55:34Speaker 14: It's funny jacket.
- 1:55:35Speaker 4: It's funny looking. It is weird, it's sweetish, it's definitely.
- 1:55:40Speaker 4: It's definitely the young and hip look.
- 1:55:42Speaker 3: You think, so it is it young and hitting the right?
- 1:55:45Speaker 4: Okay, it is.
- 1:55:45Speaker 6: I'll take that on video.
- 1:55:46Speaker 9: Now he's swist. He's going to be pissed it out.
- 1:55:49Speaker 3: I like it because it's warm. I get cold a
- 1:55:51Speaker 3: lot these days, my extremities.
- 1:55:54Speaker 4: So I you know, we have time it fifty six
- 1:56:00Speaker 4: degrees from now this morning had yeah, no, I had
- 1:56:06Speaker 4: to pull the trigger and put the heat on. Broke
- 1:56:08Speaker 4: the seal. I did. It's going right back off because
- 1:56:10Speaker 4: it's supposed to be like seventy tomorrow.
- 1:56:12Speaker 3: I know, we'll just put it down to like sixty two.
- 1:56:14Speaker 4: The thermostatic. It hasn't been on, no, I know. I
- 1:56:17Speaker 4: just put it on because you know, there was a
- 1:56:20Speaker 4: little fifty six that's a little long.
- 1:56:21Speaker 6: Yeah, that's smell that smell.
- 1:56:24Speaker 4: Yeah yeah. Beth left for work this morning, she goes, hey,
- 1:56:27Speaker 4: it was fifty six in the house. Maybe you want
- 1:56:28Speaker 4: to put them I go, why don't you put it
- 1:56:30Speaker 4: on now? She goes, yeah, just shut it off when
- 1:56:32Speaker 4: you go to work. But I didn't. So let's get that.
- 1:56:34Speaker 4: Let's let's warm the house Outmber November first is always
- 1:56:38Speaker 4: my target date here, and especially now I have no money.
- 1:56:40Speaker 3: I had to put it on kids in college. Jordan
- 1:56:43Speaker 3: and Kansas.
- 1:56:44Speaker 4: We didn't get any you know, the last time.
- 1:56:46Speaker 3: Everybody else did Jordan and Kansas. Do you think the
- 1:56:49Speaker 3: Patriots gave Taekwon Thornton a significant amount of reps to
- 1:56:53Speaker 3: display him for a trade? You obviously didn't show anything
- 1:56:56Speaker 3: that we already didn't know, but just the thought, I
- 1:57:01Speaker 3: don't know.
- 1:57:02Speaker 4: Made a good play. I mean, I know we dropped one,
- 1:57:05Speaker 4: but the guy was like on the bench for like
- 1:57:07Speaker 4: a month, comes out he made a big play.
- 1:57:08Speaker 3: I got big so excited when he got that play
- 1:57:10Speaker 3: on the crosser. And it's like, okay, use your speed go.
- 1:57:13Speaker 4: Did you guys missed to look it up?
- 1:57:17Speaker 9: He only played twelve snaps. Yeah, so I wouldn't necessarily
- 1:57:20Speaker 9: say it was like a big role.
- 1:57:22Speaker 6: I justep going back to your thing with him, he
- 1:57:24Speaker 6: just it doesn't look right. Doesn't look right, like he
- 1:57:27Speaker 6: doesn't have the right body type and the movement skills
- 1:57:30Speaker 6: don't there's no suddenness. Do you think if we straight line.
- 1:57:33Speaker 4: Watch stuff and that's our take, do you think that
- 1:57:36Speaker 4: people around the league are like, oh yeah, give him
- 1:57:40Speaker 4: a three. You're getting you're getting a conditional you know,
- 1:57:44Speaker 4: seventh round pick, sixth round pick.
- 1:57:47Speaker 9: Be nice than other than Hunter Henry, who again very
- 1:57:51Speaker 9: good in this game. Like, can one receiver make a
- 1:57:54Speaker 9: play on the ball for his quarter for the quarterback here,
- 1:57:56Speaker 9: like and it's not that catch has to be made
- 1:57:59Speaker 9: either quarterback, Like it's not.
- 1:58:00Speaker 3: Just it just it just reminds me about, you know,
- 1:58:04Speaker 3: being an athlete. We're playing bubble football here, Remember we
- 1:58:08Speaker 3: used to play bubble football. Andy was quarterbacking, and I
- 1:58:10Speaker 3: ran across Or and he threw the ball to me
- 1:58:12Speaker 3: and I caught it, but I was having trouble putting
- 1:58:14Speaker 3: it away. So I'm running it and the ball's like
- 1:58:16Speaker 3: up here, and and he just goes to be an athlete.
- 1:58:20Speaker 3: That's what I thought. He's such a be an athlete.
- 1:58:23Speaker 6: Do you throw that back at him? During the tennis game, or.
- 1:58:27Speaker 4: Fred was running with the ball like this, like the
- 1:58:31Speaker 4: point up and right exactly. That's how it was.
- 1:58:33Speaker 3: I I remember, all right, that's going to be it
- 1:58:38Speaker 3: for this edition of Patriots Unfiltered. We'll be back tomorrow.
- 1:58:41Speaker 3: Will turn the page to the Tennessee Titans. Be an athlete,
- 1:58:46Speaker 3: I just I'll never forget. And then he gets into
- 1:58:48Speaker 3: a fight with somebody. All right, we'll see you tomorrow.
