- 0:45Day. Now, I wanted to do this video
- 0:46because I came across this news article, and this story and I
- 0:49felt like it was quite a bit. Has our story.
- 0:51So I wanted to kind of cover it in a video, but before we get
- 0:55started, guys, what is going on? Where are you watching from?
- 0:58Drop me a comment down below. Let me know where you're
- 1:00watching from. Would love to know where my
- 1:01viewers are. Oh.
- 1:02And also, I have three autism lifehack PDF book.
- 1:06You want to download that. You can do it, autism, acts
- 1:08dotnet right now for free. So autism is a communication
- 1:12disorder as we all know. If you're, you know, Recurring
- 1:15subscriber my channel. You know, I talk a lot about
- 1:17autism and some of the characteristics and behaviors of
- 1:19people on the autism spectrum. Now, one of the things is that
- 1:22auditory sensory, processes it with autism are somewhat
- 1:27challenging sometimes. So autistic people have comorbid
- 1:30conditions, like sensory processing disorder or SPD now
- 1:35SPD can impact the lives of people with an Autism Spectrum
- 1:38condition in many ways, like, they could be sensitive to food,
- 1:42or light, or sound, or Smiles or anything really that Your sense
- 1:45touch it, you know, like maybe it would be the collar on your
- 1:48the neck of your shirt or it could be like the seam of your
- 1:51socks or even the heat of a room and maybe you're more
- 1:54susceptible to heat than other people.
- 1:56But having this auditory senses heightened or sometimes under
- 2:03sensitive to those things and can give a good indication for
- 2:06certain things because non-autistic people don't
- 2:09usually, I don't typically have these these heightened senses in
- 2:14terms of like All the tree in sensory processing disorder.
- 2:17So researchers at the University of Miami with along with Harvard
- 2:21Medical School, they explored responses to standard hearing
- 2:26tests administered by millions of newborn kids around the
- 2:29world. They suggested that they are
- 2:32super close to detecting an early indicator of autism in
- 2:36children, even just at Birth. So, basically, they took a bunch
- 2:39of people who are neurotypical, which means they are not
- 2:43artistic at Birth. And they did the hearing test
- 2:46stuff. And then they did the standard
- 2:48hearing test and for people on the autism spectrum and compared
- 2:52the results. Now, they compare the results
- 2:54and everybody who was non-autistic responded, pretty
- 2:58much the same way. But everybody who was autistic
- 3:00responded in a completely different way.
- 3:02And that way was actually characterized only notice that
- 3:04down. But you basically means that the
- 3:06research team, analyzed over 140,000 order to recordings from
- 3:11babies in Florida and Anna match that data with the records from
- 3:14the Florida. One of Education, indicating,
- 3:16you know, children with developmental disabilities, like
- 3:19autism. So, I mean, where does that
- 3:21leave is really at the only thing that it does is that it
- 3:24opens up the possibility that if you are pregnant, they do a
- 3:29bunch of different tests to see how your baby is progressing.
- 3:31And seeing, you know, how everything's going.
- 3:33And they do all these tests. And when your baby's born, I
- 3:35remember when my son was born, they come over, they do these
- 3:37tests, they make sure that, you know, they've got enough
- 3:39vitamins and the body and all this kind of stuff.
- 3:41So I guess an added test would be a hearing test and that test
- 3:44just one another to paste it here in just, that would
- 3:47actually search for how they respond to certain things.
- 3:50And those, you know, being one of those ones that look for is
- 3:52autism. Now, a lot of people be thinking
- 3:54to themselves and say, well, why would you want to know if your
- 3:56baby is Autistic or not? You know, you truly find out as
- 3:59they grow and develop and that is true in a lot of people, you
- 4:03know, don't kind of develop until, you know, maybe the three
- 4:06or four years old that cans to become more of something that
- 4:09impacts your life. Now because of this, you then
- 4:13have to start the process from the Child's age of when they get
- 4:16diagnosed outfits 3 or 4 years old, then you go to come.
- 4:18Start the process of trying to get help and trying to get all
- 4:20these accommodations in place for you and your child or
- 4:24whatever and it's so difficult. Imagine having that ability to
- 4:27know from birth that hey, my kid is on the autism spectrum.
- 4:30So now I need to go and find help, you know, instantly it's
- 4:34like the first thing you understand like you, okay, well,
- 4:36now I'm going to go see my doctor.
- 4:38See, my physician, you know, see my pediatrician asking for what
- 4:41helps available when my kid starts to develop talking.
- 4:44Language and stuff. Because children on the autism
- 4:47spectrum, will have certain delays in like speech and stuff
- 4:49like that. And language, depending on what
- 4:52level of support needs, they they will need depends on their
- 4:55ability really and this obviously is something that you
- 4:57judge over time and something that you will eventually have
- 5:01some sort of process in place for.
- 5:02But in terms of this test, what do I think about it?
- 5:05I think it's super interesting. I think it could help a lot of
- 5:08people access help earlier but that's pretty much it.
- 5:11I mean there's no other upside to it other than knowing earlier
- 5:14if your Something else inspection or not and I guess
- 5:17it's not really a mandatory thing.
- 5:18I guess people probably don't even know, you know, some people
- 5:21like have the option to know if their kids are going to be bored
- 5:23with any people have the option to know if their child is going
- 5:26to be born with any physical disabilities.
- 5:28A lot of people just opt out with that because they just
- 5:30think well it's my kids are going to love and whatever.
- 5:32I don't really care if they have any physical disabilities you
- 5:34know or otherwise. So I guess it kind of like is
- 5:37helpful for some people. It's going to be very helpful
- 5:38but I just thought was fascinating research that I
- 5:41could present to you guys to talk about and have a discussion
- 5:43and I love to have that. Discussion.
- 5:45Drop me a comment right now. Let me know what your thoughts
