- 0:59Speaker 6: Oh.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Yeah. The last time we talked it was pretty rough.
- 1:04Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean you were on the way back, but
- 1:08Speaker 5: you were also like, I haven't talked.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Really in a couple of days.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Yeah, all the things. Things got much better since then.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Love that. Just the other night we got to play
- 1:19Speaker 3: the Ryman Auditorium. Yes, and I was like one hundred
- 1:23Speaker 3: healthy for it and felt very good.
- 1:25Speaker 5: It's awesome. That's great.
- 1:28Speaker 3: I felt really bad I had to miss some shows.
- 1:31Speaker 3: But my boy Frank, he really held it down.
- 1:36Speaker 1: He did.
- 1:36Speaker 5: Those videos were cracking me up.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Man, it was silly. We even sold headshot. His stage
- 1:43Speaker 3: name was Ron Lindquist.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Oh beautiful, beauty, pretty.
- 1:47Speaker 5: Great merchandising, merchant exzing.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Well, it's I get feeling bad.
- 1:54Speaker 5: I would feel the same, but also it's like it's
- 1:56Speaker 5: part of the deal. What are you gonna do nothing?
- 1:58Speaker 3: Thankfully we didn't have to cancel the shows.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Which is really nice. Love that.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Yep, that was good. How have you then? What's been
- 2:06Speaker 3: anything new and exciting with you?
- 2:07Speaker 5: I just got back from Voyager National Park in Northern
- 2:10Speaker 5: Minnesota to tell me about it. Gorgeous. That place is
- 2:14Speaker 5: super nice. Uh, I want my brother and sister. We
- 2:18Speaker 5: had just a lovely time we did.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Did they bring kiddos or was it just the three
- 2:22Speaker 3: just us?
- 2:23Speaker 5: The kiddos decided not to join us, which was like,
- 2:27Speaker 5: you know, partially a bummer and also like, well we
- 2:30Speaker 5: never get to hang out just us, so that's kind.
- 2:32Speaker 3: Of neat, Like that's cool, sib ben trip.
- 2:34Speaker 5: Yeah, man, And honestly, like we didn't do a whole
- 2:37Speaker 5: lot we did. We did like tour around on my
- 2:41Speaker 5: brother's boat, and stuff like that, which was super fun.
- 2:43Speaker 5: He just got that pontoon boat and it's just like that.
- 2:46Speaker 5: I mean, it's so fun. You know, you know very well,
- 2:50Speaker 5: but it's just a blast. And we made a ton
- 2:53Speaker 5: of like super good food. I cooked like the whole
- 2:56Speaker 5: weekend nice and otherwise just like hung out and read
- 3:00Speaker 5: books and you know.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Soaked in the nature.
- 3:04Speaker 5: Yeah, talk smart to each other and soaked in the nature.
- 3:06Speaker 5: It was fantastic.
- 3:08Speaker 3: It was loud, fun. Man, that's very cool up there.
- 3:11Speaker 1: I think we will be back for sure.
- 3:13Speaker 5: And the weather was like we could have been more perfect.
- 3:18Speaker 5: It was like seventy five in the day and then
- 3:22Speaker 5: got down to like fifty five at night, so you still.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Got that little chill. And it was amazing were it
- 3:30Speaker 1: was really wild.
- 3:31Speaker 5: So there was a few a lot of pine trees
- 3:33Speaker 5: up there, so like you know, hit or miss as
- 3:35Speaker 5: far as that, but we actually saw them change while
- 3:39Speaker 5: we were there because we were there for four days
- 3:41Speaker 5: and I was able to actually verify because we had
- 3:43Speaker 5: taken some pictures from our campsite and I was like, yeah,
- 3:46Speaker 5: that is totally different than when we got here. So yeah,
- 3:49Speaker 5: it was neat. It was just beautiful and it was lovely, nice,
- 3:54Speaker 5: very good.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Yeah, glad you had a good time, man, Yeah, man,
- 3:56Speaker 3: it was super fun. Were able to watch any movies
- 3:59Speaker 3: up there?
- 4:00Speaker 5: Not up there?
- 4:01Speaker 1: But I did go to the theater before.
- 4:02Speaker 5: I left, You did, tell me I did, And I
- 4:05Speaker 5: saw one that I wasn't excited about but pleasantly surprised by,
- 4:09Speaker 5: which is always fun. Transformers one saw that with the boys.
- 4:15Speaker 3: I get that you weren't excited for it, but you
- 4:18Speaker 3: you dug it.
- 4:19Speaker 5: Yeah, I think post really wanted to see it, and
- 4:22Speaker 5: it was like, yeah, I mean I'll go.
- 4:24Speaker 1: That sounds cool.
- 4:26Speaker 7: Sure.
- 4:27Speaker 5: For those that don't know, this is basically like the
- 4:29Speaker 5: origin story for Megatron and Optimus Prime. Yeah, way back
- 4:35Speaker 5: in the day. So it's it's back.
- 4:37Speaker 1: There on.
- 4:39Speaker 5: Oh what is the place called Cybertron? I think is
- 4:43Speaker 5: the name of the planet that they that they come from,
- 4:47Speaker 5: and they are just young young men and it sort
- 4:53Speaker 5: of is their origin story and they're actually like pals,
- 4:57Speaker 5: which is kind of fun because they're obviously not later
- 5:00Speaker 5: and all that good stuff. Right, But dude, like, I mean,
- 5:05Speaker 5: so it's an animated one, right, So it's it's packed
- 5:07Speaker 5: with great actors, uh, animated either, fun, Yeah, it's it's
- 5:12Speaker 5: sort of that like almost realistic looking, but you know,
- 5:15Speaker 5: definitely animated more than I mean, I guess the other
- 5:19Speaker 5: Transformers are animated too with CGI, but this was This
- 5:22Speaker 5: was clearer animation, I guess, and kind of a little
- 5:25Speaker 5: bit more for kiddos, but but really compelling. Chris Hemsworth
- 5:30Speaker 5: is the voice of Optimist Prime Brian Tyree Henry, who
- 5:35Speaker 5: is the bless of Voltron in this one. Scarlett Johansson's
- 5:39Speaker 5: in it, Keegan Michael Key is in it, Steve Buscemi,
- 5:43Speaker 5: Lawrence Fishburne, I mean, John Ham. Like, it's just you know,
- 5:47Speaker 5: they really go all out with these voices, I feel like,
- 5:50Speaker 5: which is super fun. There's a bunch of Transformers you'll know,
- 5:53Speaker 5: and de Septicons you'll know, and stuff like that that
- 5:55Speaker 5: are kind of fun little Easter eggs. Although I don't
- 5:58Speaker 5: know that universe like super well personally.
- 6:02Speaker 1: But yeah, I thought it was a fun little movie.
- 6:04Speaker 1: It's it's like.
- 6:07Speaker 5: Like an hour forty five I think is what it is,
- 6:10Speaker 5: ish and it went by quick. It was really enjoyable.
- 6:14Speaker 5: It was really funny in parts. Key Mike Key was
- 6:17Speaker 5: responsible for a lot of that, and yeah, I really
- 6:20Speaker 5: liked it. I thought it was fun cool. I recommend
- 6:23Speaker 5: people check it out. So, okay, if you think you're
- 6:26Speaker 5: into it, I don't. I think it's PG, but I
- 6:30Speaker 5: don't know how kiddos would like it or what's too much?
- 6:34Speaker 5: So yeah, look into that. That's all your parents do.
- 6:37Speaker 5: But yeah, I thought it was fun. So how about you?
- 6:41Speaker 5: What movies have you been watching?
- 6:43Speaker 3: I watched a hilarious film about three sisters whose dad
- 6:48Speaker 3: is in hospice. Amazing. Okay, so I'm being sarcastic. It
- 6:54Speaker 3: was not hilarious serious if there were some funny parts.
- 6:59Speaker 3: But it is a dry and it stars Elizabeth Olson,
- 7:03Speaker 3: Natasha Leone, and Carrie Koon And it's a Netflix film
- 7:08Speaker 3: and it's called His Three Daughters.
- 7:11Speaker 5: Love That.
- 7:12Speaker 3: It's great acting from these three. They're all related but
- 7:18Speaker 3: very different from each other. It felt like it could
- 7:21Speaker 3: have been a play. There were a lot of monologues
- 7:25Speaker 3: going on, and most of it took place in the
- 7:28Speaker 3: dad's New York City apartment. But yeah, that being said,
- 7:34Speaker 3: I thought it was written really well and the performances
- 7:37Speaker 3: were great. All three of them were just acting their
- 7:40Speaker 3: butts off.
- 7:41Speaker 1: That's cool, man.
- 7:42Speaker 3: Obviously it was pretty sad, but still definitely worth checking out.
- 7:47Speaker 3: And yeah, I haven't seen I haven't really seen Elizabeth
- 7:52Speaker 3: Olsen do a lot of other stuff, you know, outside
- 7:55Speaker 3: of like Marvel and I guess that Ingrid Goes West movie.
- 8:01Speaker 3: But it was it was fun. It was fun seeing
- 8:04Speaker 3: her do something a little different.
- 8:05Speaker 5: Now, was she and wind River? That's like the only
- 8:08Speaker 5: other one I can think of?
- 8:09Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it was her? And was that her Renner? Right?
- 8:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I think so.
- 8:15Speaker 3: That sounds right, That sounds right. But yeah, check it out.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Check it out. It's on Netflix. Really really good actor
- 8:22Speaker 3: this year or it came out like three days ago.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Oh no kidding, I was all over it. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 8:29Speaker 3: all over it.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Nice.
- 8:30Speaker 5: Just I haven't heard anything, but yeah, I'll definitely check
- 8:32Speaker 5: that out.
- 8:33Speaker 3: His three Daughters Netflix. Speaking of Netflix, have you been
- 8:39Speaker 3: streaming anything?
- 8:40Speaker 5: I have?
- 8:42Speaker 1: Yes?
- 8:43Speaker 7: Uh?
- 8:45Speaker 1: Have you watched?
- 8:46Speaker 5: This will affect my decision to talk about her. Are
- 8:49Speaker 5: you up to date on Rings of Power?
- 8:52Speaker 3: I am only on episode three. I did finally finish
- 8:55Speaker 3: episode three.
- 8:57Speaker 5: Then I will say that I am starting at Man
- 9:00Speaker 5: ninety seven.
- 9:02Speaker 3: Oh okay, I've heard very good things.
- 9:04Speaker 5: I know I have to, and I just feel like
- 9:05Speaker 5: it's right up my Alley. I loved the our guesttoon
- 9:09Speaker 5: back Love. Oh that's right, Yeah, what a nice little
- 9:13Speaker 5: homage to him. Yeah. I haven't full disclosure, only watched
- 9:18Speaker 5: a couple episodes, but I'm super digging it.
- 9:21Speaker 1: I loved the old show.
- 9:22Speaker 5: It's got very much the same vibes. Still getting used
- 9:25Speaker 5: to some of the like voice acting, but I'm hear
- 9:28Speaker 5: to it, man' and I'm excited to see what happens
- 9:31Speaker 5: because it's been so you know, like people have been
- 9:34Speaker 5: liking it, and especially like the Super the Super Nerds
- 9:37Speaker 5: have really been enjoying it. So I'm into it. I'm
- 9:40Speaker 5: excited to see that that's on Disney Plus. Of course,
- 9:43Speaker 5: as all it is, that makes sense. Yeah, so check
- 9:47Speaker 5: that out if you want to, and I'll report back
- 9:50Speaker 5: as well.
- 9:51Speaker 3: But are there a ton of seasons? Is that the deal?
- 9:53Speaker 5: I think it's only one so far because ChRI is
- 9:56Speaker 5: the new one right now. I was gonna to catch
- 10:00Speaker 5: up on by watching all the old ones, and I
- 10:03Speaker 5: kind of fell off and I was like, I'm just
- 10:05Speaker 5: gonna watch the new ones. I can always watch those
- 10:07Speaker 5: later if I want. But I believe there's twelve episodes
- 10:11Speaker 5: total right now. Cool and it's only one season, so
- 10:15Speaker 5: and you can, you know, you can whip through them
- 10:17Speaker 5: pretty quick. So so yeah, I'll have a firmer idea later.
- 10:20Speaker 1: But it's been fun, very cool.
- 10:23Speaker 5: And I love just like the animation style is very
- 10:26Speaker 5: much the same, which is so fun, just very nostalgic.
- 10:29Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah, it's very fun. How about you?
- 10:32Speaker 5: What have been streaming?
- 10:33Speaker 3: I was also over on Disney Plus and I went
- 10:37Speaker 3: and checked out the show you talked about I believe
- 10:39Speaker 3: last time. But I got caught up on Agatha all along.
- 10:45Speaker 5: Oh nice, and I think I'm an episode behind on
- 10:47Speaker 5: that now. Well so many things.
- 10:49Speaker 3: Okay, when I I saw the two episodes.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Okay too, that's where I'm at, y Yeah, when I.
- 10:56Speaker 3: Don't know when they come out. But yeah, so, I mean,
- 11:00Speaker 3: I I watched so much while I was sick, and
- 11:04Speaker 3: this was like the last thing I watched, And yeah,
- 11:09Speaker 3: it started off kind of weird until there was a
- 11:11Speaker 3: big reveale and then I was super into it.
- 11:15Speaker 5: At first, I was like, am I watching the wrong thing?
- 11:19Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 11:21Speaker 5: That was weird because me and don't recall what's happening
- 11:24Speaker 5: right now.
- 11:24Speaker 3: I felt like, like, why is Catherine Han like really overacting?
- 11:28Speaker 3: What has happening right now and then it's revealed, and
- 11:32Speaker 3: then it's so much fun. It's wonderful.
- 11:34Speaker 5: You must have been like, am I do I have
- 11:36Speaker 5: a fever again? What's happening right now?
- 11:39Speaker 3: Oh no, I'm regressing, But yeah, I was loving the
- 11:44Speaker 3: new characters that have been introduced, so fun and it's
- 11:48Speaker 3: just very fun to have a show like this before Halloween,
- 11:51Speaker 3: getting everybody in the fall Halloween spirited.
- 11:55Speaker 5: I assume it's going to like end right around Halloween
- 11:58Speaker 5: probably like you would think, thought about these things.
- 12:01Speaker 3: They're smart, they're smart, and yeah, it was. It was
- 12:04Speaker 3: a it was a fun way to get the get
- 12:07Speaker 3: fall started.
- 12:08Speaker 5: Love that, love it. Yep, I feel the same way.
- 12:11Speaker 5: I'm super excited to see what happens because I into it.
- 12:14Speaker 5: Have just no idea, you know, right, like what's gonna
- 12:18Speaker 5: go on with this?
- 12:18Speaker 3: So but yeah, Catherine Hunt can almost do no wrong.
- 12:22Speaker 1: So seriously, she's always it's pretty dang great.
- 12:26Speaker 5: It's not amazing, So I love that.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Very cool. Buddy, Well, what do you think she would
- 12:30Speaker 1: do if you plug runs?

- 13:18Speaker 3: Houston was out in Lancaster when I was sick, so
- 13:23Speaker 3: I didn't get to see her and I felt really bad.
- 13:26Speaker 5: At least she'll never find out you weren't actually sick
- 13:29Speaker 5: and just avoiding her.
- 13:30Speaker 1: So that's good.

- 13:49Speaker 3: draft that pertains to the movie that we're talking about,
- 13:52Speaker 3: and for this one, it's gonna be fun. We got
- 13:56Speaker 3: our top five favorite Brad Pitt films.
- 13:59Speaker 5: Yeah, and he's been in some stuff gags.
- 14:02Speaker 3: He's been in some Yeah. I was like, I've seen
- 14:04Speaker 3: I don't know, it was like forty of his films.
- 14:06Speaker 3: I was like, fifteen pretty much bangers.
- 14:10Speaker 5: Yeah. I kind of stopped after. I was like, I
- 14:13Speaker 5: love these ones and just yeah. Usually I write down
- 14:16Speaker 5: like everything like you're saying, everyone ever scene, but this one,
- 14:19Speaker 5: I was.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Like, We've got plenty.
- 14:22Speaker 5: We're pretty good.
- 14:22Speaker 3: He's been in some really good movies. Yeah, there were
- 14:25Speaker 3: there was some stinkers too, but yeah, like for how
- 14:29Speaker 3: many options we need, I'm like, oh, I'm gonna be
- 14:31Speaker 3: good with any of these.
- 14:32Speaker 5: So that's percent agreed on that. So that'll be tons
- 14:36Speaker 5: of fun. Stick around for coming attractions as we cover
- 14:40Speaker 5: a new movie next week that I once again have
- 14:43Speaker 5: forgot to look.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Honestly, it's still kind of up in the air, so
- 14:45Speaker 3: you're not in great, it's all good.
- 14:47Speaker 5: Well, then it's gonna be a surprise. Let's all be
- 14:49Speaker 5: surprised together. It'll be so fun. Come on back, there'll
- 14:52Speaker 5: be something. But we're here today to talk about a
- 14:56Speaker 5: Bradley Pitt film from nineteen hundred ninety nine, a little
- 15:00Speaker 5: movie called fight Club, Yes.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Which is gonna be really fun.
- 15:05Speaker 7: Uh.
- 15:05Speaker 5: And so we had to get our our fightiest friend here.
- 15:09Speaker 5: I guess I don't know he's our fightiest, but he
- 15:13Speaker 5: is lovely. He is the super nerd that we referenced earlier.
- 15:18Speaker 5: And uh yeah, let's get him on here without any
- 15:20Speaker 5: further Ado, give it up for Adam Up?
- 15:25Speaker 3: What's up? Rup?
- 15:26Speaker 7: You know.
- 15:28Speaker 1: You know you know well, you do you actually do
- 15:33Speaker 1: know we It's true.
- 15:34Speaker 3: We have been talking for some time, and mostly about
- 15:37Speaker 3: Minnesota sports, so we won't bore everybody with that.
- 15:40Speaker 1: That's true.
- 15:41Speaker 3: Very excited to have you on again, buddy. We haven't
- 15:44Speaker 3: had on since the movie Game with the Adams.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it's been It's good good to you, which
- 15:51Speaker 1: is nice.
- 15:52Speaker 7: Good to be back. I'm really tired tonight, but.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Oh okay, we're gonna pep you up.
- 15:57Speaker 5: We're gonna pep you up if you want to see
- 15:59Speaker 5: him his like most caffeinated glory to Adam Up, music
- 16:03Speaker 5: to I.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Kind of do it.
- 16:05Speaker 5: You can find all kinds of fun stuff there.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Oh he does all the neat things.
- 16:09Speaker 7: I think. I think it's because we had such a
- 16:11Speaker 7: huge weekend to it.
- 16:12Speaker 3: I'm just like, yeah, well the last show he did
- 16:15Speaker 3: was the Rhyman. That's always a crazy day, and that's
- 16:22Speaker 3: been you know, the best show by far, just a
- 16:26Speaker 3: lot of energy, you know, yeah, yeah, it's yeah. Yeah,
- 16:30Speaker 3: the shows were great too, but that one was. Yeah,
- 16:33Speaker 3: it's it's always cool there.
- 16:36Speaker 5: Also, you were beck at full strength, which helps help
- 16:39Speaker 5: help me a lot. I think it helps everyone though, right,
- 16:42Speaker 5: because like those shows where other people aren't there are
- 16:44Speaker 5: always like a little fun in their own way. But
- 16:47Speaker 5: it's just like, you know, I think think about stuff.
- 16:50Speaker 7: More Ronquist was.
- 16:53Speaker 3: I was going to say, it seemed like they had
- 16:55Speaker 3: way more fun with Ron.
- 16:56Speaker 5: I mean, if we need a dancer, I think he's
- 16:58Speaker 5: our guy.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Honestly.
- 16:59Speaker 3: I mean I get that.
- 17:01Speaker 5: Rob's more of the exotic type of dancer, but.
- 17:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I would say more exotic.
- 17:05Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, Ron really brought up Rob's more of a
- 17:08Speaker 5: free spirit than a choreo guy.
- 17:10Speaker 3: Exactly exactly what I always say. Yep, I can't be
- 17:15Speaker 3: held down by these numbers.
- 17:18Speaker 5: I just needed the numbers, the man, the credit card companies.
- 17:21Speaker 5: Let's talk about this great movie called Fight Club. I
- 17:24Speaker 5: love it, and let's rage against said machine. Uh and Rob,
- 17:30Speaker 5: will you get a start it with just a Rob
- 17:31Speaker 5: SYNOPSI okay sure.
- 17:34Speaker 3: A depressed man suffering from insomnia means a strange soap
- 17:38Speaker 3: salesman named Tyler Durden, and soon finds himself living in
- 17:41Speaker 3: his squalid house after his perfect department is destroyed. The
- 17:45Speaker 3: two board men form an underground club with strict rules
- 17:48Speaker 3: and fight other men who are fed up with their
- 17:50Speaker 3: mundane lives. They're perfect partnership phrase. When Marla, a fellow
- 17:56Speaker 3: support group Crasher, attracts Tyler's ten.
- 18:00Speaker 5: Chin, oh we'll we're calling.
- 18:03Speaker 1: It nice good read, good read.
- 18:06Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 18:07Speaker 5: Let's go to Rotten to Models and hear what they
- 18:09Speaker 5: have to say. Critics had this coming in at a
- 18:11Speaker 5: pretty rock solid eighty percent.
- 18:14Speaker 3: I thought that was gonna be lower or excuse me,
- 18:18Speaker 3: going to be higher. I thought that was pretty long.
- 18:20Speaker 5: Really that was Yes, I agree, it is slightly lower
- 18:23Speaker 5: than I thought.
- 18:24Speaker 7: Yeah, sure, yeah, yeah, this is before Rotten Tomatoes existed though.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Right, yeah, yeah, this was ninety nine, you know, I
- 18:32Speaker 3: don't know.
- 18:33Speaker 1: It is interesting.
- 18:34Speaker 5: Audience members much more in line with what I thought,
- 18:36Speaker 5: because they have it at ninety six percent.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Yeah, that is free.
- 18:40Speaker 7: That's better.
- 18:42Speaker 5: That is that much rareh But I agree. I kind
- 18:45Speaker 5: of thought critics loved this.
- 18:47Speaker 3: More same you same, which is interesting.
- 18:52Speaker 5: But I think we should go in and hear what
- 18:54Speaker 5: we think. It's time for our hat take.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Ooh, that's a hot take.
- 18:59Speaker 3: That's a hot take. Oh, don't put.
- 19:02Speaker 1: That light put in my head.
- 19:05Speaker 7: It hurts me.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Nice.
- 19:07Speaker 5: Nice, I'm not lying, really looking nice. I'm going to
- 19:12Speaker 5: cut myself off from talking there.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Nice.
- 19:15Speaker 5: I like it.
- 19:16Speaker 7: I like you.
- 19:18Speaker 5: I will go first because I am Bukes's teppid hot take.
- 19:22Speaker 7: Love it.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Come on, come on, guys, what are we doing good?
- 19:26Speaker 5: I only say it's tepid because I love this movie
- 19:29Speaker 5: a lot. I think it's really great. Yes, it blew
- 19:33Speaker 5: my mind back in the day. Oh my god, I
- 19:35Speaker 5: don't even know if we ever said nineteen ninety.
- 19:37Speaker 3: Nine, twenty fifth anniversary.
- 19:39Speaker 5: Twenty fifth anniversary. So I saw this, you know, as
- 19:42Speaker 5: an adolescent man, and I loved it. I thought it
- 19:48Speaker 5: was super fun. The like twist was awesome. I don't
- 19:53Speaker 5: think I knew it. You know, I don't think I
- 19:55Speaker 5: knew it was coming at all, same which was so
- 19:58Speaker 5: fun and it it is one of those movies that
- 20:02Speaker 5: is still fun to watch despite knowing the twist, because
- 20:05Speaker 5: it makes it kind of like richer almost in a
- 20:08Speaker 5: fun way, Like her reactions to him make so much
- 20:12Speaker 5: more sense, you know, like as time goes on and
- 20:15Speaker 5: stuff crazy. Yeah, yeah, one hundred percent just like what
- 20:19Speaker 5: are you talking about, bro, Like you're nuts? But yeah,
- 20:24Speaker 5: it's just it's a really enjoyable movie to watch, and
- 20:28Speaker 5: it's it has been often you know, like referenced now
- 20:32Speaker 5: and Satired and all the things ripped off some might
- 20:37Speaker 5: say in various other projects, but this one holds up
- 20:42Speaker 5: really well honestly for what it is. It's still you know, hits.
- 20:47Speaker 5: I think the acting is pretty wonderful throughout the whole thing.
- 20:51Speaker 5: There's nothing too crazy. I mean, you know, like it's
- 20:54Speaker 5: it's violent, and it's you know, like he obviously doesn't
- 20:59Speaker 5: like culture, but he's not like.
- 21:02Speaker 1: One hundred percent wrong either.
- 21:04Speaker 5: I mean, the way he chooses to take care of
- 21:06Speaker 5: him maybe, but not everything else. You know, He's got
- 21:09Speaker 5: some points. I guess that's all I'm saying. But I
- 21:12Speaker 5: just think it's really fun. It was fun to rewatch
- 21:14Speaker 5: this with like slightly more of a critical eye and
- 21:18Speaker 5: just see, like cool that he was like addicted to
- 21:21Speaker 5: being vulnerable into like feeling like himself and he could
- 21:26Speaker 5: do it for a second, but then not quite completely.
- 21:29Speaker 5: But then he kind of got that Catharsis by the
- 21:31Speaker 5: end of it, and that was kind of neat to see.
- 21:36Speaker 5: And yeah, overall, I just think this movie is really
- 21:39Speaker 5: great with some great acting.
- 21:42Speaker 2: And I like it pot take nice hot, it's super hot.
- 21:49Speaker 3: It was tepid. I also love, love, love this movie.
- 21:54Speaker 3: It also blew my mind. I have a lot of
- 21:56Speaker 3: all of those similar takes from when we were younger,
- 21:58Speaker 3: when we watched it totally. It is number thirteen on
- 22:03Speaker 3: IMDb's Top two fifty.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Wow.
- 22:05Speaker 3: It's sandwiched in between Lord of the Rings of Two
- 22:08Speaker 3: Towers and Inception. That's where it is on the list.
- 22:12Speaker 3: It was written by Chuck poll Nick, and I now
- 22:17Speaker 3: know how to say his last name.
- 22:20Speaker 5: Is it Pollinic?
- 22:21Speaker 3: It is Pollinick. I looked it up. I thought it
- 22:23Speaker 3: was or something I've always said Polanic always. It is
- 22:30Speaker 3: poulin Nick found that out yesterday and this was the
- 22:35Speaker 3: thing that really got me into his writing. I then
- 22:37Speaker 3: went on to read like eight of his books. Yeah,
- 22:41Speaker 3: you've read a lot of I loved his stuff so much,
- 22:46Speaker 3: and he has just such an interesting point of view
- 22:50Speaker 3: that is so different from my own, and it's just
- 22:55Speaker 3: really fun to read. This was directed by David Fincher,
- 23:00Speaker 3: and this one really solidified him as one of the
- 23:02Speaker 3: great directors out there. Now, he had already done seven,
- 23:06Speaker 3: which people were super impressed with, and The Game, but
- 23:10Speaker 3: I think this is the one that really made him
- 23:13Speaker 3: a household name. The actors are all incredible in this,
- 23:17Speaker 3: like you said, even the supporting cast. The script is incredible,
- 23:24Speaker 3: so many of those lines have been quoted a lot,
- 23:28Speaker 3: and has one of the most memorable last lines ever.
- 23:33Speaker 3: But the filmmaking is incredible. The violence is gratuitous, but
- 23:37Speaker 3: something to be expected with the name like fight Club,
- 23:43Speaker 3: and my hot take is that I guess I wasn't
- 23:47Speaker 3: as into it twenty five years later, and I think
- 23:51Speaker 3: one of the main reasons is because it really showcases
- 23:54Speaker 3: like QAnon kind of broy culture with like about that too, Yeah,
- 24:00Speaker 3: conspiracy theories like crazy and like wanting to create chaos
- 24:03Speaker 3: and dealing with misinformation and just anything that makes those
- 24:07Speaker 3: kind of folks look cool kind of turns me off now.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Like proto in cell behavior.
- 24:14Speaker 3: Yeah, where like when I first saw this, I was
- 24:17Speaker 3: just like, Wow, this is just incredible, and I didn't
- 24:20Speaker 3: really think about that kind of stuff.
- 24:24Speaker 5: Yep, so that kind of way less like glorified for me.
- 24:27Speaker 5: Now I was just right, Okay, yeah that's gross.
- 24:30Speaker 3: So anything that's like kind of making them look cool,
- 24:34Speaker 3: it kind of grosses me out.
- 24:36Speaker 5: Like I feel like I knew people that took this
- 24:38Speaker 5: on as their like identity for a minute, you know.
- 24:41Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, reading the like uh, steal this book and
- 24:46Speaker 5: stuff like that, you know, back in the day and
- 24:47Speaker 5: all that, you know what I mean?
- 24:49Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, anyway, Sorry.
- 24:52Speaker 3: So that's my that's my hottest take. Oh and also
- 24:54Speaker 3: we didn't mention the music. The music is cool and
- 24:57Speaker 3: Fincher always has really cool scores. He usually uses Trent
- 25:02Speaker 3: Reznor now, but I think it's was that the Dust
- 25:06Speaker 3: Brothers that do the music, and it's cool man. They
- 25:10Speaker 3: do a lot of cool stuff. Oh yeah, So really yeah,
- 25:13Speaker 3: that's that's my last bit. What do you got, buddy?
- 25:20Speaker 7: Do you think that there is some impetus for this
- 25:26Speaker 7: movie being the cause or at least maybe around other
- 25:30Speaker 7: things at the time of this sort of cultural change
- 25:35Speaker 7: that led us to the things that you were last
- 25:38Speaker 7: talking about with QAnon and like conspiracy theorists and like
- 25:41Speaker 7: the you know, against everything, you know, fists in the
- 25:45Speaker 7: air kind of culture that we've been seeing for the
- 25:48Speaker 7: last like ten years. Do you feel like this is
- 25:52Speaker 7: about the time and you feel like this movie sort
- 25:56Speaker 7: of sparked some of those feelings and those ideas.
- 26:01Speaker 3: I don't know that. I feel like it's only become
- 26:05Speaker 3: more mainstream and cool, you know, to be conspiracy theory
- 26:15Speaker 3: like in the last ten years. But I don't know.
- 26:21Speaker 3: It could have. It could have been because it feels
- 26:24Speaker 3: like a lot of those people are like our age,
- 26:26Speaker 3: and like we were kind of you know, this was
- 26:28Speaker 3: at a pretty critical point in our lives and are
- 26:30Speaker 3: growing up. It could have.
- 26:33Speaker 5: I think there's a correlation, not a causation, would be
- 26:36Speaker 5: my best guess. Like, you know, yes, they are our age,
- 26:40Speaker 5: but also people our age went through a number of
- 26:43Speaker 5: like pretty big events, you know, both economic and otherwise
- 26:46Speaker 5: that you know, could sort of lead to people wanting
- 26:49Speaker 5: to reclaim power for themselves. And I only say, like,
- 26:53Speaker 5: I think it's been co opted by those groups a
- 26:56Speaker 5: little bit maybe, but like you know, I mean, I'm
- 27:00Speaker 5: reading that Eric Larson book the I forget the title
- 27:03Speaker 5: of it now, but it's the one about Nazi Germany,
- 27:06Speaker 5: and like there were groups you know, doing sort of
- 27:10Speaker 5: these anarchist kind of things even back then. Right, So
- 27:13Speaker 5: it's it's sort of the rise and fall of like
- 27:15Speaker 5: fascism and stuff too.
- 27:17Speaker 7: You know, I think the difference with this is, and
- 27:22Speaker 7: this is a testament to how good the writing is
- 27:26Speaker 7: that where this differs from say, like you know, the
- 27:30Speaker 7: Nazis or whatever, right, is that it's directly sort of
- 27:37Speaker 7: like an anti capitalism, yes, uh, take on it, where
- 27:41Speaker 7: like you're not you aren't the stuff that's around you,
- 27:45Speaker 7: you know, like you know, the stuff that you own
- 27:47Speaker 7: ends up owning you. Yeah, yeah, movie, and and sort
- 27:51Speaker 7: of just you know, f capitalism, f the whole system.
- 27:54Speaker 7: You don't need, stuff, you don't need to buy, you know,
- 27:56Speaker 7: all those kind of and just going against the system
- 27:58Speaker 7: and all that kind of I feel like that is
- 28:03Speaker 7: relatively new because I'm not sure if I knew what
- 28:06Speaker 7: was before that that had those same ideas and sentiments and.
- 28:11Speaker 1: That kind of stuff.
- 28:12Speaker 7: Yeah, And I guess I think, I guess it goes
- 28:14Speaker 7: also into more. I wanted to know more about the
- 28:16Speaker 7: writer because I think, I mean, I haven't read his
- 28:19Speaker 7: other stuff, but what I've heard from is you know
- 28:21Speaker 7: that he does really go out there with ideas.
- 28:27Speaker 5: And I've read a number of his books too, not
- 28:29Speaker 5: as many as Rob because I don't I don't. I
- 28:33Speaker 5: respect them a ton, but I don't like that, right,
- 28:36Speaker 5: you know what I mean, like in.
- 28:38Speaker 1: The same way.
- 28:38Speaker 3: But some of them, bro, he goes out, he goes
- 28:41Speaker 3: a way out, and some of them are too much
- 28:43Speaker 3: for me too, Like Choke is weird. That was my
- 28:47Speaker 3: favorite of his, Like, I actually liked that one the most,
- 28:51Speaker 3: but I was like, also, I don't know, like this
- 28:53Speaker 3: is this is wild?
- 28:55Speaker 7: Yeah, So what's what's interesting. What's interesting is I watched
- 29:00Speaker 7: the documentary of Woodstock ninety nine and they directly reference
- 29:06Speaker 7: this movie as being a part of the zeitgeist for
- 29:12Speaker 7: all the distruct and destruction and all that. Yes, yeah,
- 29:17Speaker 7: it was like a part of the cultural like angsty
- 29:20Speaker 7: as it will. And then I start and I started
- 29:22Speaker 7: thinking deeper about it in the sense of you know,
- 29:25Speaker 7: there's you always hear about people that you know, if
- 29:31Speaker 7: they're sort of in this this vacuum of of capitalism
- 29:35Speaker 7: or just stuff, and like they just don't really feel
- 29:37Speaker 7: anything anymore that you know, chaos is just sort of
- 29:40Speaker 7: bound to happen, or like people that will just want
- 29:44Speaker 7: to go and do awful just to feel something again, totally,
- 29:49Speaker 7: and you just it's you can see the parallels between that,
- 29:56Speaker 7: and I'm just thinking of like everything that's been around
- 29:59Speaker 7: for the last like twenty years that just hit the
- 30:02Speaker 7: same ideas, you know, like what like when happens and
- 30:07Speaker 7: then you're just like why did that happen? And then
- 30:10Speaker 7: you just you could just kind of peel back the onion,
- 30:14Speaker 7: if you will, and go back to the root of
- 30:16Speaker 7: like what is the cause of all these things? Now,
- 30:18Speaker 7: I'm not saying that this is like you said, it's
- 30:21Speaker 7: not the causality.
- 30:22Speaker 5: But it's part of that, you know, blanket.
- 30:25Speaker 7: Right, It's just and I think this goes into a
- 30:29Speaker 7: lot of like why this movie is And I haven't
- 30:32Speaker 7: even hot take yet. This this is a perfect movie.
- 30:36Speaker 7: It's perfect. It's it's absolutely perfect. Let's go to the music.
- 30:40Speaker 7: The music is great. I listened to the soundtrack a
- 30:42Speaker 7: lot the Dust Brothers, Like, hell yeah, I would listen
- 30:47Speaker 7: to this regularly. Like as you said, Uh, this came
- 30:51Speaker 7: out right after I think The Matrix came out. It
- 30:57Speaker 7: was a great movies. Yeah, no, it was.
- 31:01Speaker 3: Yeah, it literally was.
- 31:04Speaker 7: Matrix came out and it was like hope. And then later,
- 31:07Speaker 7: like a month or it, this came out and we
- 31:09Speaker 7: were just like blown away. And I remember me and
- 31:12Speaker 7: my friends all going to see it because we thought, all,
- 31:14Speaker 7: this looks cool. The trailer that was really cool with
- 31:16Speaker 7: his whoa whoa. Yeah, okay, so much energy That's what
- 31:21Speaker 7: I was texting right And then of course none of
- 31:25Speaker 7: us knew what was going to happen in this movie.
- 31:28Speaker 7: Spoiler alert. He's the same person my friend. Afterwards, it
- 31:37Speaker 7: was just couldn't stop talking about it. When we that
- 31:41Speaker 7: revelation came and we just were in the parking lot
- 31:45Speaker 7: and we were there for like a couple of hours
- 31:47Speaker 7: just geeking out over this movie. And he kept us saying, again,
- 31:51Speaker 7: it's not about a fight club.
- 31:59Speaker 5: It really did tickle our collective brain.
- 32:02Speaker 1: Was so sure, yeah, agree with that.
- 32:05Speaker 3: The Sixth Sense also come out this year because I
- 32:07Speaker 3: felt like there was a.
- 32:08Speaker 5: Lot of like, know, like, I think that's older, but
- 32:11Speaker 5: it was a bunch because I read a book all
- 32:14Speaker 5: about this year in film and it was crazy.
- 32:17Speaker 3: But just having those huge twists and stuff, those big reviews.
- 32:20Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, yeah, any movie that makes you go back
- 32:24Speaker 7: and realize, now everything you've seen up to this point
- 32:27Speaker 7: is completely new meaning and it's just so incredible.
- 32:32Speaker 5: Was ninety nine You're right, right? I thought it was earlier?
- 32:35Speaker 7: Nice it, man, Yeah, what a great year for movies.
- 32:40Speaker 7: Ninety nine. Was going back and watching it again, and
- 32:46Speaker 7: I was gonna when Rob we were talking about that stuff,
- 32:49Speaker 7: I was like, yeah, that's exactly how I felt, too,
- 32:51Speaker 7: Like I I I feel icky about it for sure.
- 32:57Speaker 5: You know, I'll get that.
- 32:59Speaker 7: A lot of the stuff that I when I was
- 33:01Speaker 7: a young man, like twenty years old or no, I
- 33:04Speaker 7: was eighteen years old. I think I was seventeen years old. Difference, back,
- 33:11Speaker 7: I thought like, this was incredible, it was amazing, it
- 33:15Speaker 7: was so funny, and it was just like all these scenes.
- 33:17Speaker 7: But now a lot of these scenes when I go back,
- 33:19Speaker 7: I'm like, yeah, some of the scenes were still like
- 33:22Speaker 7: some of this stuff is still really funny, Like oh,
- 33:24Speaker 7: I laughed again. But then I saw some of the
- 33:27Speaker 7: stuff and I'm like, oh, man, that would not go
- 33:31Speaker 7: well at all. If this movie came out within the
- 33:34Speaker 7: last ten years, you know what I mean, I feel like,
- 33:38Speaker 7: I mean, you could fluctuate that date. But if this
- 33:42Speaker 7: stuff came out, people would really take it in a
- 33:47Speaker 7: bad way. I felt like, I feel like because I
- 33:50Speaker 7: think it hits home with a lot of the things
- 33:53Speaker 7: that can be upsetting to a lot of people. Sure,
- 33:57Speaker 7: does that make sense?
- 33:59Speaker 5: Yeah, I guess I think it's because you can do
- 34:03Speaker 5: anything now.
- 34:05Speaker 7: Yeah, but.
- 34:07Speaker 1: I'm with you.
- 34:09Speaker 7: They would have they would have made it more topical,
- 34:12Speaker 7: you know, because that was nineteen ninety nine, right, so yeah,
- 34:16Speaker 7: stuff is different now, Like they wouldn't be going necessarily
- 34:19Speaker 7: after the credit card buildings or something like that. Maybe
- 34:23Speaker 7: it'd be all social media is destroyed or something like that,
- 34:27Speaker 7: you know, So it would have been it would have
- 34:30Speaker 7: been different issues that we're dealing with. But you know,
- 34:34Speaker 7: it's it's interesting, what's that movie that the Civil War
- 34:36Speaker 7: movie that came out kind of kinda the same, Like.
- 34:42Speaker 3: They didn't they left it. They left all of that, really,
- 34:45Speaker 3: they they did.
- 34:46Speaker 5: They did, but they never went into that at all.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Neither.
- 34:50Speaker 3: They didn't go to any politics really, Yeah, which could.
- 34:54Speaker 7: You imagine, could you imagine if they did. Though, I
- 34:57Speaker 7: feel like this movie.
- 34:58Speaker 3: They were going to do and I was kind of nervous.
- 35:00Speaker 7: Yeah, right right, And that's so like I look at
- 35:04Speaker 7: this movie and I feel like, you know, we didn't
- 35:06Speaker 7: have those concerns back then. Sure, and I might stretch
- 35:14Speaker 7: exactly exactly that, but let's you know, just even being
- 35:21Speaker 7: a parent now and seeing some of the scenes in there,
- 35:24Speaker 7: like I thought that was so funny, but now like no, no, no, no, no,
- 35:32Speaker 7: absolutely not no, no, not okay, not okay. So yeah,
- 35:38Speaker 7: that's one thing.
- 35:39Speaker 5: I love about that can hit you differently based on
- 35:42Speaker 5: where you're at, Like I think that's fun.
- 35:45Speaker 7: Yeah, that's cool. It is a very good lesson to
- 35:52Speaker 7: keep coming back to as as we get older and wiser,
- 35:55Speaker 7: and you know, you realize things a little different, you
- 35:58Speaker 7: see things a little differently, you realize things, but you remember, yeah,
- 36:02Speaker 7: what it was like back then, you know. Anyway, the
- 36:06Speaker 7: movies that Yeah, everything you guys have said is is
- 36:09Speaker 7: right on, right on. And like I said, I felt
- 36:13Speaker 7: it was a perfect movie. I just don't really have
- 36:17Speaker 7: much I love that bad things to say about it obviously.
- 36:20Speaker 5: The same although I did come up with the hot
- 36:23Speaker 5: take while we've been talking. Okay, cool, do you want
- 36:24Speaker 5: to hear it?
- 36:25Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 36:25Speaker 5: Yeah, scathing hot take is there's something deeply delicious about
- 36:29Speaker 5: the irony that a movie talking about like capitalism and
- 36:33Speaker 5: all the bad Things is a Hollywood film that was
- 36:36Speaker 5: probably sixty million dollars to make and probably made like
- 36:39Speaker 5: three hundred million, you know what I mean? Really nuts
- 36:43Speaker 5: about that. That's just like you know, and has been
- 36:46Speaker 5: co opted by various movements and things. But also it's
- 36:50Speaker 5: there to make money, you know what I mean, Like that's.
- 36:52Speaker 7: Just really silly and fun. Did you know that there
- 36:56Speaker 7: were actual fight clubs that started?
- 36:58Speaker 5: I heard that because by that, But like I said,
- 37:02Speaker 5: I know people that it felt like it became their
- 37:04Speaker 5: identity kind of for a minute.
- 37:06Speaker 3: I also don't know if this movie did that great
- 37:09Speaker 3: in the theater. I think it's a.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Better yeah, like Later or something.
- 37:14Speaker 3: I think it became more of like a cult, which
- 37:17Speaker 3: kind of makes.
- 37:19Speaker 5: Say, like one hundred and fifty million from the box officide.
- 37:24Speaker 5: I mean, so that's box office numbers.
- 37:27Speaker 3: And that's not also adding in all the other stuff
- 37:30Speaker 3: over the years.
- 37:31Speaker 5: I don't think that's how I am.
- 37:33Speaker 1: I am.
- 37:34Speaker 5: Ok. Jeez, easy for me to say that's it. But
- 37:36Speaker 5: I also, like, I don't know, I've never researched their
- 37:40Speaker 5: numbers brought, but I think that's how they do.
- 37:42Speaker 3: I just thought i'd heard at the time that, Yeah,
- 37:46Speaker 3: I'm kind of with you of what. It didn't make
- 37:47Speaker 3: a ton of money.
- 37:48Speaker 5: But it's probably been re released in theaters though, too,
- 37:51Speaker 5: so like that money would get added on. So you're
- 37:54Speaker 5: I think you're right about that.
- 37:56Speaker 3: I think we're getting in the weeds a little bit here.
- 37:58Speaker 3: Let's sorry, let's keep even along. We got all of
- 38:01Speaker 3: our hot takes. They're all very hot.
- 38:03Speaker 5: I love it.
- 38:04Speaker 3: I think we should pick our favorite acting performance, and
- 38:07Speaker 3: let's pick the dude the dude.
- 38:11Speaker 6: I'm the dude, so that's what you call me, you
- 38:14Speaker 6: know that, or his dude or duder or you know,
- 38:20Speaker 6: eldudo reno if you're not into the whole brevity thing.
- 38:23Speaker 3: This was tough for me, but rup, what what do
- 38:25Speaker 3: you have?
- 38:25Speaker 1: Buddy?
- 38:26Speaker 7: Agreed, I'll take Edward Norton.
- 38:29Speaker 5: I love that.
- 38:29Speaker 3: Okay, I love that.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Ye do you want to talk about that?
- 38:33Speaker 3: That's it?
- 38:34Speaker 7: I mean it literally equally could have been bad.
- 38:38Speaker 5: Pitch Yep, Yeah, I'm with you on that for sure.
- 38:41Speaker 7: It's like, but if we're playing fair, it's the same person,
- 38:46Speaker 7: So I'm taking.
- 38:47Speaker 3: Over the Actually, I do like that a lot. I
- 38:51Speaker 3: was coming in ready to pick Edward Norton, since he's
- 38:55Speaker 3: the main character in this and we know that he
- 38:58Speaker 3: like switches and all that. But when I was like
- 39:02Speaker 3: figuring out my favorite scenes, it's all of Brad Pitt's
- 39:06Speaker 3: monologues that make this movie for me. So I guess
- 39:11Speaker 3: I got to give it to Brad Pitt. And you
- 39:14Speaker 3: kind of understand why all these people are like wanting
- 39:19Speaker 3: to follow Brad Pitt or Tyler, and he could totally
- 39:22Speaker 3: be the leader of a cult if he wanted to be.
- 39:25Speaker 3: He's so charming and charismatic. Yeah, yeah, I don't know
- 39:31Speaker 3: I would pick Brad Pitt. What what did you have? Bikes?
- 39:35Speaker 5: I think I picked Edward Norton, is what I finally
- 39:39Speaker 5: came That's what I finally wrote down, anyway, mostly just
- 39:42Speaker 5: because I agree Brad Pitt's amazing and I think we
- 39:46Speaker 5: can just pick both of them, honestly, But Norton got
- 39:51Speaker 5: to react to finding out that he had sort of
- 39:55Speaker 5: had this like mental break and react to all the
- 39:59Speaker 5: things and and react kind of with us. So I
- 40:01Speaker 5: think that's I think that's slightly more impressive acting wise
- 40:04Speaker 5: to me anyway.
- 40:07Speaker 7: It's it's kind of like the product of the writing
- 40:09Speaker 7: in the care totally. But he's like he got the
- 40:12Speaker 7: opportunity to show the world and change.
- 40:15Speaker 5: Yes, I totally agree with that. I also did not
- 40:18Speaker 5: know that we never knew his name until this same dude,
- 40:22Speaker 5: I feel like same, like I just glossed over that,
- 40:25Speaker 5: I guess every other time. I never watched it.
- 40:28Speaker 3: No, I never thought of him as Jack, and I
- 40:32Speaker 3: know that, like a lot of people are like, isn't
- 40:34Speaker 3: the same Jack? But you see that he's reading that
- 40:37Speaker 3: I am Jack's you know.
- 40:38Speaker 5: Yeah, I never thought of that ever, presumed we knew and.
- 40:42Speaker 3: He always used a different you know, Cornelius, Serve Rupert
- 40:47Speaker 3: or whatever at the support groups. So yeah, I never
- 40:52Speaker 3: thought about that either ever once.
- 40:55Speaker 5: Which is weird. Yeah, that's strange, but yeah, I just
- 40:59Speaker 5: I think he's wonderful. Well, and yeah, I'm cool with
- 41:01Speaker 5: picking both of them.
- 41:03Speaker 3: I think that's like that.
- 41:07Speaker 5: Yeah, dude, Yeah, I love that. But there's tons of
- 41:13Speaker 5: great other people in this Should we name some of
- 41:15Speaker 5: our favorites and named the.
- 41:16Speaker 7: Tucciy the Tucci. So I mean, I know one of
- 41:24Speaker 7: you is gonna is gonna pick Helena. Yeah, I'm assuming
- 41:30Speaker 7: so I'm gonna go with meat Loaf.
- 41:32Speaker 3: Dude.
- 41:33Speaker 5: I love that.
- 41:33Speaker 1: I might. I'm with you. I'm with you.
- 41:38Speaker 3: Was awesome.
- 41:39Speaker 5: He's wonderful.
- 41:41Speaker 7: Yes, uh. I mean it's just if you had not
- 41:46Speaker 7: if I had not looked up or like, I didn't
- 41:49Speaker 7: know who that was when I saw it. No, I
- 41:52Speaker 7: didn't know who he was.
- 41:53Speaker 5: That I would have known either some time.
- 41:56Speaker 3: But I was really into that song that he had
- 41:59Speaker 3: come out with proper a couple of years before that.
- 42:01Speaker 1: The actually pretty good question, by the way.
- 42:09Speaker 7: Yeah, so I just it's just such a nice little
- 42:13Speaker 7: icing on the cake.
- 42:15Speaker 5: Was he was he wearing a prosthetic?
- 42:20Speaker 3: I read that it was almost one hundred pounds of
- 42:24Speaker 3: extra prosthetics.
- 42:26Speaker 5: Wow, that's good because I was like, was he that big?
- 42:29Speaker 5: Because it was like, yeah, but it can't be right.
- 42:34Speaker 3: They said it was like a ninety pound like fast.
- 42:38Speaker 1: That must have been miserable, poor guy.
- 42:41Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure, his character that was such a fun
- 42:48Speaker 3: for sure. But yeah, Helen the bottom Carter is the
- 42:52Speaker 3: third you know, incredible for sure. Yeah, Yeah, she was
- 42:58Speaker 3: incredible in some of this stuff that came out of
- 43:01Speaker 3: her mouth. I remember the one line that I won't
- 43:05Speaker 3: even say out loud, just grossed me out so hard
- 43:12Speaker 3: after they've had sex in the bedroom.
- 43:14Speaker 5: Yes, so you know the because I have it written down.
- 43:17Speaker 5: But we've talked about the trivia behind that before, right,
- 43:20Speaker 5: I know that story.
- 43:21Speaker 3: Looked up the trivia, so I now know it.
- 43:24Speaker 5: It's it's the most it's the Should I talk about
- 43:26Speaker 5: it now? I can talk about.
- 43:27Speaker 3: Later because so there's a pine of God?
- 43:31Speaker 5: What is the actual line? She says, Sorry, now I
- 43:33Speaker 5: got to scroll down to it.
- 43:35Speaker 1: I want to have I want to have your abortion,
- 43:38Speaker 1: I think is what she says.
- 43:39Speaker 3: That is what the trivia was what they originally wrote
- 43:44Speaker 3: for that.
- 43:45Speaker 5: So the original line was supposed to be I want
- 43:48Speaker 5: to have your abortion, and they didn't like that, so
- 43:50Speaker 5: they were like, you got to come up with something different,
- 43:53Speaker 5: and I think they came up with something so much worse,
- 43:57Speaker 5: Like I haven't been that way since grade school? Is
- 44:03Speaker 5: I mean, that line is incredible, but so troublesome, so bad.
- 44:10Speaker 3: And apparently I also saw that Helena Bottom Carter didn't
- 44:15Speaker 3: realize that grade school in America means like like elementary school.
- 44:22Speaker 3: So she didn't get you know, because she's so she
- 44:29Speaker 3: was appalled as well, so she was thinking like college
- 44:33Speaker 3: or something.
- 44:34Speaker 5: Which really made the line work so much better because
- 44:37Speaker 5: she is so matter of fact about it that it
- 44:39Speaker 5: really Yeah, but it's that line is so much worse
- 44:42Speaker 5: than abortion.
- 44:45Speaker 3: Horrible lines.
- 44:48Speaker 1: But like, yeah, that's so that's so wild.
- 44:51Speaker 5: Yeah that was the line.
- 44:54Speaker 3: But her, she, I mean, she was so good in it,
- 44:56Speaker 3: and getting getting to after you have you know, watching
- 45:03Speaker 3: her is so much better.
- 45:05Speaker 5: It's so much fun. Yeah, it's so much fun. Yeah, yeah,
- 45:10Speaker 5: I love that. Those are great picture.
- 45:13Speaker 3: Do you have us?
- 45:13Speaker 5: Yeah, well I had both of those people for sure,
- 45:18Speaker 5: So good job. I liked his boss quite a lot
- 45:21Speaker 5: on this read. He was great dude, Zach grenire Yes,
- 45:25Speaker 5: who has been in a lot of things years.
- 45:28Speaker 3: But wasn't he in Tommy Boy? Wasn't he one of
- 45:31Speaker 3: the board members.
- 45:33Speaker 5: One of the board members, yeahndred percent he's the one
- 45:36Speaker 5: who's like kind of likes him. But also it was
- 45:39Speaker 5: like this it kind of sucks, right.
- 45:41Speaker 7: You know.
- 45:41Speaker 5: Yeah, I thought he was wonderful in this and that like, well,
- 45:46Speaker 5: we'll talk about it. But his interactions that he has
- 45:48Speaker 5: with Edward Norton.
- 45:49Speaker 1: Are just super fun.
- 45:50Speaker 5: Yeah, agree, in this so I liked him a lot.
- 45:54Speaker 3: I remembered Jared Leto having a bigger role and he
- 45:58Speaker 3: really does not have that role this.
- 46:01Speaker 7: Yeah, I who the hell is he in this movie?
- 46:04Speaker 7: I was looking at it.
- 46:05Speaker 3: He was the blonde guy.
- 46:06Speaker 5: He's the pretty boy that he beats the he wanted
- 46:08Speaker 5: to dis beautiful.
- 46:10Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, exactly, jinks that that was who I thought.
- 46:14Speaker 7: It was like my best guess, But when I watched it,
- 46:18Speaker 7: I was like, I just didn't recognize him.
- 46:20Speaker 5: He looks now, I mean he's there, he gets.
- 46:22Speaker 7: His face gets complete. Yeah, so it's hard to recognize
- 46:26Speaker 7: anything at that point.
- 46:27Speaker 3: But yeah, yeah, I was expecting him to be in it.
- 46:31Speaker 3: Morey agreed because I just thought he was anymore another
- 46:38Speaker 3: guy that has been in other Fincher things, specifically that
- 46:43Speaker 3: mind Hunter show which I loved, was that Holt mcallaney.
- 46:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 46:50Speaker 3: Yeah, he's got such a great voice, dude.
- 46:53Speaker 5: And like he's also the dad in The Claw, the
- 46:57Speaker 5: Iron Claw movie, right, yes, the wrestling movie.
- 47:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:01Speaker 1: Oh man, I mean that movie's a trag, but he's
- 47:03Speaker 1: so good in it.
- 47:04Speaker 3: Yeah, he's like a actor and yeah, he's so you
- 47:08Speaker 3: can get to do a ton in this, but I
- 47:10Speaker 3: thought what he did was good.
- 47:11Speaker 5: Agreed.
- 47:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I wrote him down too with you.
- 47:18Speaker 5: Yeah, I didn't have a lot of other Like everyone
- 47:22Speaker 5: else was good, but nobody else was in it a
- 47:24Speaker 5: whole lot right now, like the the like sidekicks and
- 47:27Speaker 5: all that stuff.
- 47:28Speaker 3: So yeah, and all the extras, I thought they were
- 47:31Speaker 3: all good. I thought everybody was good, agreed. Like, I
- 47:37Speaker 3: didn't look up the name of the guy, But how
- 47:40Speaker 3: nuts would it have been to pretty much be like
- 47:42Speaker 3: a glorified extra the guy who has the neck thing
- 47:47Speaker 3: on I he's the guy that reveals the whole movie
- 47:52Speaker 3: pretty much. Yeah, you know it'd be like, how would
- 47:56Speaker 3: that that would be so nuts to just be I guess,
- 48:00Speaker 3: like little tiny part and you have that big of
- 48:04Speaker 3: like exposition in the movie.
- 48:05Speaker 7: It would be nuts, is it, David Andrews, I have
- 48:09Speaker 7: no idea.
- 48:10Speaker 3: I didn't look it up, but I just thought that
- 48:12Speaker 3: that was kind of cool that he had such a
- 48:15Speaker 3: big part. And one other thing that I never.
- 48:18Speaker 5: Noticed Seamus Wiles, So.
- 48:20Speaker 3: Sorry, but Michael Seamus Wilder.
- 48:22Speaker 5: Just saw him and he's actually named Bartender in Halo
- 48:27Speaker 5: there it.
- 48:27Speaker 3: Is, Yeah, that's what they call that Halo. Yeah, the
- 48:32Speaker 3: only thing I was going to say was I did
- 48:35Speaker 3: recognize and I don't know that I knew this before,
- 48:39Speaker 3: but the lead singer of Live, Ed Kowalcik. He is
- 48:43Speaker 3: the one that is the waiter that tells him like, well,
- 48:47Speaker 3: He's like, we want clean, fluid food, and he's like, well,
- 48:50Speaker 3: then I suggest she doesn't have the clam chowder. That
- 48:53Speaker 3: is that's the lead singer of Live.
- 48:56Speaker 5: That's kind of fun, which.
- 48:59Speaker 3: I was a big fan back in the day. Cool,
- 49:02Speaker 3: but yeah, a lot of good people in this, but
- 49:05Speaker 3: really just kind of those four or five main roles.
- 49:10Speaker 1: Yeah, another one.
- 49:11Speaker 5: Otherwise everyone's kind of just like in and out.
- 49:13Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, with you.
- 49:15Speaker 3: Agreed, Well, let's move on. Let's pick our favorite scene.
- 49:18Speaker 3: Let's pick the dingus so is quite simple, really dingusings.
- 49:25Speaker 5: I can talk about my dingas all night long.
- 49:28Speaker 3: So so hard.
- 49:31Speaker 7: This is it's one of the hardest dingus is to
- 49:34Speaker 7: like in your entire everything.
- 49:36Speaker 5: Calm down with centers, Come on, Spike.
- 49:44Speaker 7: Club, come on, were talking about we can do that
- 49:47Speaker 7: splicing anyway. Anyway, I ended up landing on the scene
- 49:59Speaker 7: where it was a homework assignment from Tyler Dirton where
- 50:03Speaker 7: he holds up a convenient store clerky takes him out
- 50:08Speaker 7: back to God, and that scene just I felt like
- 50:16Speaker 7: it had so much weight and was so poignant to
- 50:19Speaker 7: the whole movie and about letting go and all this
- 50:23Speaker 7: and the whole end of that scene where he explains
- 50:28Speaker 7: why he just did that, you know, and to thinking
- 50:31Speaker 7: about tomorrow will be the best breakfast he ever has
- 50:35Speaker 7: in his life, and that he actually like got him
- 50:38Speaker 7: to go and pursue his dreams. Incredible. It's absolutely incredible,
- 50:42Speaker 7: it really is. And it's not it's a scene that
- 50:46Speaker 7: I think you kind of forget about.
- 50:49Speaker 3: It's a powerful scene, you know what I mean.
- 50:50Speaker 7: It's a powerful scene. And every time he comes up,
- 50:53Speaker 7: I'm like, oh my god, Yeah, wow, I'm just kind
- 50:55Speaker 7: of mind blowing every time I see it. It's one
- 50:57Speaker 7: of those scenes that gives an example of kind of
- 51:00Speaker 7: like what you were saying, bus where there's like not
- 51:03Speaker 7: redeeming qualities, I would say, but you understand the points
- 51:09Speaker 7: that are being put out there, like there is definitely
- 51:12Speaker 7: merit to that, and he there's definitely truth to that.
- 51:15Speaker 7: And that's actually the line I think Edward Norton says
- 51:18Speaker 7: after that scene plays out, I can't know what it
- 51:22Speaker 7: is the lie, but something to the effect of like
- 51:24Speaker 7: he does have a plan, like a point to this,
- 51:28Speaker 7: like like he always finds a way to like make
- 51:32Speaker 7: you go like oh yeah.
- 51:34Speaker 5: Also think about from that poor guy's standpoint, he just
- 51:37Speaker 5: hears him being like, don't do it, stop it. You know,
- 51:40Speaker 5: I'm gonna.
- 51:41Speaker 3: Do it right right.
- 51:46Speaker 7: Yeah, it's a good yeah, definitely.
- 51:54Speaker 1: One of the few people that hears those two.
- 51:57Speaker 5: Talk at the same time. Like the fighting and stuff
- 52:01Speaker 5: is a different thing, right, that other people see, but
- 52:03Speaker 5: the talking and stuff, I don't know.
- 52:05Speaker 1: That is interesting.
- 52:06Speaker 7: Well that that's like when they're in the limousine and
- 52:10Speaker 7: he's having that conversation to the headsman then back there
- 52:13Speaker 7: and you just all the scenes where he's like having
- 52:15Speaker 7: this dialogue and imagine how people are watching this guy
- 52:20Speaker 7: have this worked us out in his head and he's
- 52:22Speaker 7: just like what the Yeah, that's great. Yeah, that was
- 52:26Speaker 7: my favorite saying that's a great scene.
- 52:27Speaker 3: It's another scene you can't really have twenty five years
- 52:30Speaker 3: later because everyone owns a gun and sure at this point, Yeah,
- 52:36Speaker 3: that's sure.
- 52:38Speaker 5: Sure.
- 52:39Speaker 3: So the scene that I think of when I think
- 52:42Speaker 3: of this movie is the Rules of fight Club scene. Yeah,
- 52:48Speaker 3: you know, both of the scenes that I think of
- 52:52Speaker 3: are monologues from Brad Pitt. There's the rules scene explaining
- 52:59Speaker 3: all of it, and then there's that like the modern
- 53:01Speaker 3: man monologue and explaining why we're so pissed off, and
- 53:09Speaker 3: it's I mean, it's great. And then that leads into
- 53:12Speaker 3: I believe when the owner of that club comes in
- 53:18Speaker 3: and he just lets him beat the hell out of
- 53:21Speaker 3: him and then he bleeds all over him, which is
- 53:24Speaker 3: just well, yeah, and he's laughing, and dude, that's you
- 53:29Speaker 3: don't know where I've been, Just like I picked up.
- 53:32Speaker 5: For one of my favorites, just him the just that
- 53:37Speaker 5: laugh is so great in that scene. I love that.
- 53:40Speaker 3: Yeah, So I those are kind of a tie for
- 53:45Speaker 3: me for what I think of with this movie.
- 53:49Speaker 5: Yeah, I honestly the same for both of those. I
- 53:52Speaker 5: had both those written down. I love them a lot.
- 53:55Speaker 5: It's a little hard to not pick. Just like the
- 53:59Speaker 5: the moment where it for him that he is, you know,
- 54:02Speaker 5: like but that feels a little like geaty almost or
- 54:06Speaker 5: something I also like. And it's sort of in between
- 54:09Speaker 5: the scenes you guys were talking about, but the homework
- 54:12Speaker 5: assignment where he tells the dudes and it leads into
- 54:15Speaker 5: a montage of them picking fights with other people. It
- 54:19Speaker 5: was really fun, Like that's more of just like a.
- 54:21Speaker 3: Fun one almost you know.
- 54:23Speaker 7: Yea, yeah, I believe that.
- 54:26Speaker 1: I think that's really great.
- 54:28Speaker 7: I thought they could have done more with that, honestly,
- 54:30Speaker 7: show three examples. Yeah, I wanted to see more examples,
- 54:35Speaker 7: more like play it out where you actually have a
- 54:38Speaker 7: guy actually beat the other person then like lose, and
- 54:41Speaker 7: like see the reaction of be like the person being
- 54:43Speaker 7: like I just I just beat him. You know, you
- 54:47Speaker 7: know what reactions could be.
- 54:49Speaker 5: What's fun is I saw the car salesman guy and
- 54:51Speaker 5: I don't think I ever had He's in the scene
- 54:54Speaker 5: at the end where they're.
- 54:55Speaker 1: Like making all the soap and.
- 54:56Speaker 5: All that stuff and making the actual like dine mit
- 55:00Speaker 5: and all that stuff.
- 55:01Speaker 3: He got into it.
- 55:02Speaker 5: Which I was like, oh, I bet they all are
- 55:04Speaker 5: like the people that we see for a minute. But
- 55:06Speaker 5: that's such a fun. I don't know to show that
- 55:09Speaker 5: like there was it worked.
- 55:11Speaker 3: I was going to look it up and I didn't,
- 55:14Speaker 3: and I'm just lazy, I guess. But so you know
- 55:18Speaker 3: how he gets the priest, the priest to come after him,
- 55:21Speaker 3: which is so great.
- 55:22Speaker 5: The priest is there?
- 55:24Speaker 3: Is he the guy? Then when they're fighting with their
- 55:28Speaker 3: shirts off and he like like gives the guy a hug.
- 55:31Speaker 5: Like I believe that is him.
- 55:32Speaker 3: Because I was like, that might be the priest.
- 55:35Speaker 5: Yeah, and he's in one of the soap scenes later too,
- 55:38Speaker 5: okay as well, which is crazy I think. Anyway, I
- 55:42Speaker 5: guess I never confirmed either, but I'm with you, I thought, because.
- 55:46Speaker 3: You don't really get a good look of the priest
- 55:50Speaker 3: and kind of balding to but yeah that would Yeah
- 55:57Speaker 3: that makes that even cooler.
- 55:58Speaker 1: Yeah, really fun, really fun.
- 56:01Speaker 3: Another scene that I wrote down was the when they
- 56:06Speaker 3: first fight, Yes, you know, when he gets them in
- 56:09Speaker 3: the ear and all that came back at like how
- 56:15Speaker 3: crazy that must have looked those.
- 56:17Speaker 5: Two dudes that came out and were like what is happening.
- 56:20Speaker 3: Right kicking my out?
- 56:24Speaker 7: Well then they show that too, like later on at
- 56:26Speaker 7: the end of the r yeah, which explains explains why
- 56:33Speaker 7: those people like didn't be like, oh, they're fighting, let's
- 56:36Speaker 7: get away, but they're like.
- 56:37Speaker 1: Like what.
- 56:40Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I also love this is a very
- 56:44Speaker 5: small one, but when they're doing the like sort of
- 56:47Speaker 5: uh you know, tried and true thing of like make
- 56:51Speaker 5: someone tell them no, three times before you let them
- 56:55Speaker 5: come in and learn your ways or whatever on the porch, right,
- 56:59Speaker 5: and just like again to Bob. It must have been
- 57:03Speaker 5: so wild to hear this guy that he knew be like,
- 57:06Speaker 5: you're too old, you're too fat, you're too dumb, get
- 57:08Speaker 5: out of here, Bob, and then be like, Bob, just stay,
- 57:11Speaker 5: it's okay, Just stay a couple of days.
- 57:13Speaker 1: It's gonna be fine.
- 57:13Speaker 5: You know, Like that must have been yeah, right, But
- 57:18Speaker 5: I love that little scene.
- 57:20Speaker 1: I think that's so fun.
- 57:21Speaker 3: Yeah, because he shows like he gets.
- 57:23Speaker 5: Control back for a quick cot second and all those things.
- 57:27Speaker 1: I think that's neat.
- 57:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I like that too. The only other one I
- 57:31Speaker 3: wrote down was just when Edward Norton kicks his own
- 57:35Speaker 3: ass do you mind in the in the office.
- 57:38Speaker 5: Yes, I love that scene.
- 57:41Speaker 3: No, no, yeah, so good? Oh yeah ed Norton, Man,
- 57:47Speaker 3: that guy is so good, very talented with you. How
- 57:53Speaker 3: do you pull that scene off?
- 57:55Speaker 5: I don't know, but he does it so well.
- 57:57Speaker 3: Yeah. But yeah, it was really hard. It was hard
- 58:00Speaker 3: like narrowing down the scenes because there were so many
- 58:03Speaker 3: beautiful scenes, messed up scenes. The the last like however,
- 58:10Speaker 3: many minutes.
- 58:12Speaker 5: Like super intense and crazy them holding hands watching.
- 58:16Speaker 3: All the buildings. I mean, that is just a really
- 58:21Speaker 3: iconic ending to a movie.
- 58:23Speaker 5: You remember how cool that looked? Like it's aged a
- 58:26Speaker 5: little bit now obviously, but at the time it was like,
- 58:28Speaker 5: what is happening? This is insane?
- 58:31Speaker 3: And yeah, you've met me at.
- 58:32Speaker 7: So here's a question for you. What building were they
- 58:36Speaker 7: in that that he saved?
- 58:39Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 58:39Speaker 7: I don't know, because he says all the credit card
- 58:44Speaker 7: companies and then like the t RW or something building. Yeah,
- 58:48Speaker 7: so I don't know. You assumeing maybe it was that one.
- 58:52Speaker 7: It's it's just curious, but oh sorry, go ahead. Well
- 58:57Speaker 7: that just just because we're hitting all the good scenes
- 59:00Speaker 7: when he actually fights Tyler knowing that Tyler is himself
- 59:03Speaker 7: in security.
- 59:04Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, including the whoa wo wo because I thought
- 59:13Speaker 5: that was hilarious.
- 59:15Speaker 7: Yeah, Like, okay, so funny Founds of Night Licord.
- 59:25Speaker 5: Just before I forget Rob. Did you read this book ever?
- 59:28Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 59:29Speaker 5: Yep, okay, because there's a big difference between how it
- 59:32Speaker 5: ends and the book and how it ends in this right,
- 59:34Speaker 5: Oh god, And that's okay, you don't know, Yeah, I've
- 59:38Speaker 5: just read the trivia that he was like, I actually
- 59:40Speaker 5: think the movie is better than my book.
- 59:44Speaker 3: Way too, which pretty doesn't happen very often. I felt
- 59:48Speaker 3: that way with this book. I also felt that with
- 59:50Speaker 3: Jurassic Park.
- 59:52Speaker 1: Nice but yeah, well.
- 59:55Speaker 7: Yeah, that's like for obvious reasons.
- 59:59Speaker 1: Ha, you know, because you actually get to see it.
- 1:00:02Speaker 7: It's like it's all about the thrill and scared.
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: Oh no, but the actual like the plot. They changed
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: a lot of things for the better, which is smart.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: They made good choices.
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: Right yeah, yeah, yeah, Okay, I love that.
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: But I don't.
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: I don't remember exactly, and that's cool.
- 1:00:20Speaker 5: I just I just have heard him say that before
- 1:00:22Speaker 5: and I was like, I should read.
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: That, But how cool is that? Like, I doubt that
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: there's many writers that are like.
- 1:00:28Speaker 5: They made it better or would even admit it if
- 1:00:32Speaker 5: they did. I love that.
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: But if we had to pick one club, oh, I mean,
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: that's a good scene.
- 1:00:45Speaker 5: That is a great scene. I don't. Can we speak
- 1:00:49Speaker 5: all the fighting scenes?
- 1:00:50Speaker 7: M hm mine?
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: It does?
- 1:00:55Speaker 7: Right? So deep but but sure you know you'll take
- 1:00:59Speaker 7: the take the low hanging from.
- 1:01:02Speaker 5: I mean it is should be at least a little
- 1:01:04Speaker 5: low hanging there.
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: It is good. There, it is, it's good.
- 1:01:09Speaker 5: Let's go talk about some of these quotes. It's time to.
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: Show me the money, show me.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: Why don't you say a couple?
- 1:01:22Speaker 5: But you had a great one already with that, Yeah.
- 1:01:29Speaker 7: Whoa, that's it's probably the best. I mean, I guess
- 1:01:32Speaker 7: I don't. I didn't really think about that, but it
- 1:01:34Speaker 7: might be the best woe in a movie.
- 1:01:39Speaker 5: I mean, there's so many, I know.
- 1:01:44Speaker 7: Like the Matrix for perfect, like with the jump in
- 1:01:46Speaker 7: the building. Whoa, of course that's gonna who huge. There's
- 1:01:51Speaker 7: so many good ones. I guess I'll just go I'll
- 1:01:54Speaker 7: start with the the stuff you own ends up owning you.
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:02:00Speaker 7: That's a pretty powerful statement.
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: Yep, I agree.
- 1:02:07Speaker 7: I mean, you guys can just start naming off.
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: The one that I say the most is for sure,
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: just his name is Robert Paulson. Robert, I say that that.
- 1:02:21Speaker 7: Was Yeah, that was all of our friends. That's my friends.
- 1:02:26Speaker 7: When we would say, like at when we get together
- 1:02:29Speaker 7: or just hanging out and stuff like that, we would
- 1:02:31Speaker 7: always say that.
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: And then it's just like a lot of deep ones
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: for the most part, like that's like the most fun one.
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: You know, you met me at a very strange time
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: in my life. You know, that's a pretty memorable last
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: line of a movie. And then I wrote down all
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: the I am Jack, the I am jackson flamed sense
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: of rejection, I am Jack's complete lack of surprise. That
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: was my favorite one thumbs up. I am Jack's broken heart. Yeah,
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: I am Jack's raging bile duct.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: Yes, like that one.
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: And I'll say one other one before I'm done here
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: is sticking feathers up your butt does not make you
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: a chicken.
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: I do love that line. That's a great line.
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: I like that one. What do you got bugs?
- 1:03:22Speaker 5: Um? When he and Hella Bottom Carter walking out and
- 1:03:28Speaker 5: they're talking and they're like, well, testicular cancer should be
- 1:03:31Speaker 5: no contest. I think when they're talking about splitting up
- 1:03:34Speaker 5: the groups and he's like and she's like, well, technically
- 1:03:37Speaker 5: I have more of a right to be there than you.
- 1:03:39Speaker 5: You still have your balls. I just always thought that
- 1:03:42Speaker 5: was a really funny line.
- 1:03:43Speaker 7: I like that.
- 1:03:45Speaker 5: One that I think of a lot is just how's
- 1:03:47Speaker 5: that going for you? What being clever?
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: Yeah, that's just a great line.
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: Yeah, it just.
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: Makes you feel so small.
- 1:03:57Speaker 5: Yeah, it's really great. But oh, one that comes up
- 1:04:02Speaker 5: quite a lot. Now there's the question of etiquette. When
- 1:04:04Speaker 5: I leave, do I give you the ass or the crotch.
- 1:04:07Speaker 7: I've used that several times. Here's what that God was
- 1:04:13Speaker 7: in here. I wanted to shoot between the eyes of
- 1:04:17Speaker 7: every panda who wouldn't screw to save their species.
- 1:04:20Speaker 5: Yes, that's a great one. That was a great one.
- 1:04:24Speaker 7: Where is that in the movie. I didn't know I'm
- 1:04:26Speaker 7: seeing Jackson's.
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: Was that when it's part of them being a man talk?
- 1:04:30Speaker 5: I think.
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: I thought it was when he wanted to destroy something beautiful?
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right, it is.
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: You're right, yeah, because he says a lot of stuff
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: like that, like literally, it's all like a narration.
- 1:04:47Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, right, right, right, yeah, yeah, that is great
- 1:04:53Speaker 5: the gentleman, Welcome to fight club. The first rule of
- 1:04:55Speaker 5: fight club. We don't talk about fight club. The second
- 1:04:57Speaker 5: rule of fight club is you do.
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: Not talk about that has been off a million times.
- 1:05:03Speaker 5: Yes, absolutely, yeah.
- 1:05:05Speaker 7: Absolutely, I'd fight Gandhi. Yes, yeah, I always. It was
- 1:05:16Speaker 7: my favorite there. Yeah and obviously, uh is her name
- 1:05:21Speaker 7: is Martha? Right?
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: Or Marla Marla Marla?
- 1:05:25Speaker 7: Yeah that you already said the line earlier, But that
- 1:05:27Speaker 7: one was insane.
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: Oh my god, so wild, so wild, yucky.
- 1:05:36Speaker 5: Listen to me. You have to consider the possibility that
- 1:05:38Speaker 5: God does not like you never wanted you, and in
- 1:05:41Speaker 5: all probability hates you. And that is a Chuck palainook
- 1:05:47Speaker 5: line if I've ever heard.
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: One, big time.
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: I love that.
- 1:05:53Speaker 5: I also love self improvement is masturbation now self destruction.
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: It's just that are great, no, so funny, very nihilist.
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a lot of that. It's only after we've
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: lost everything that we're freeing out anything. Yeah, this is
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: your life and it's ending one minute at a time.
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: drops to zero. It's all very depressing, quote so poignant,
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: you know, And I remember at the time just being like, man,
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: this is yeah, just so deep. Yeah.
- 1:06:33Speaker 7: The final time when they're in the car and it's
- 1:06:40Speaker 7: the final push that he gives to Jack Tyler Driton
- 1:06:44Speaker 7: gives to Jack and says basically let go. Yeah, because
- 1:06:50Speaker 7: right after that, what happens is he's like knocked out
- 1:06:53Speaker 7: for days, for like maybe who knows how long, like
- 1:06:57Speaker 7: a long time, and you don't wake up. And he
- 1:07:00Speaker 7: finally wakes up, becomes himself again and realizes that he's
- 1:07:03Speaker 7: flown over the entire country and he's like he got
- 1:07:05Speaker 7: all these travel receipts and like he's you know, so
- 1:07:09Speaker 7: it's kind of like that the last time it's said
- 1:07:12Speaker 7: in the movie to like let go or whatever. I
- 1:07:16Speaker 7: think I could be wrong.
- 1:07:18Speaker 5: Yeah, that's fun. Also love the when he's fighting the
- 1:07:25Speaker 5: one guy that kind of kicks his ass, Edward Norton,
- 1:07:28Speaker 5: and the guy's like, hey, man, that was great.
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: How about next week?
- 1:07:31Speaker 5: And he's like, how about next month?
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: Hoot month? He was really slamming his head into the ground.
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: I don't like that. Was that was too much?
- 1:07:41Speaker 7: That was hard? Yeah, too much to watch. Hey. And
- 1:07:46Speaker 7: then there's the penguin slide.
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: And then it's Marla and she's just like slide. Yeah.
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: The only other one that I wrote down was the
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: right before they're gonna fight for the first time. He's
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: just like, how much can you know about yourself if
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: you've never really been in a fight. I don't want
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: to die without any scars.
- 1:08:10Speaker 5: Yeah, that's pretty good. But I had another funny one
- 1:08:15Speaker 5: and then this could be my last one. But it
- 1:08:17Speaker 5: was the it was beautiful. We were selling rich women's
- 1:08:20Speaker 5: fat asses back to them.
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: And when it when the fact gets oh no, catch it.
- 1:08:32Speaker 5: I love that that.
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: Was probably just happening in his mind.
- 1:08:36Speaker 5: Big time.
- 1:08:37Speaker 7: Yes, yes, right, so discussion it.
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: Was yucky, yucky icky, Why don't we move on to
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: bu boohoo moments? Strong men also cry?
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: Strong men Also, I.
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: Don't think he cried in this movie.
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: Bud an interesting take.
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: It's too darker. It's too dark. There's no real romance.
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: I mean maybe when he feels bad and is like,
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: you know, get on the bus. I don't care, like,
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: just go just yeah I didn't get me.
- 1:09:17Speaker 7: But yeah, there is never a moment that is trying
- 1:09:22Speaker 7: to pull at your heartstrings. I feel like the music.
- 1:09:24Speaker 7: The music doesn't do it. The the tone doesn't do it.
- 1:09:30Speaker 7: So I'm gonna say no. But I have guesses on
- 1:09:33Speaker 7: what if it is. Yes, I have guesses what it is.
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: Well, we don't.
- 1:09:36Speaker 5: We don't need those guesses because you guys are right.
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: It was not.
- 1:09:39Speaker 5: I was kind of surprised, but I was like, but yeah,
- 1:09:41Speaker 5: like when yeah, you know, so.
- 1:09:46Speaker 7: I just remembered because I was trying to think of
- 1:09:48Speaker 7: what was sad in the movie, like, oh, we didn't
- 1:09:50Speaker 7: talk about one of the funniest early funny scenes when
- 1:09:54Speaker 7: Chloe gets.
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: All right, yes, yes I have loobs and I have photographic.
- 1:10:08Speaker 7: I just.
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: It was like, well, maybe that funny.
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: Though.
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: The thing that made him funny was the actress who
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: did like decided to go just eat the mic just
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: like to the point where it's like about to feedback.
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: That's what was That was great. Yeah, but otherwise, yeah,
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: that was really sad. Yeah that's a good call. That's
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: that scene.
- 1:10:37Speaker 7: That's so funny. Okay, okay, okay, that's like that's nice.
- 1:10:42Speaker 5: Okay, we got to move on now, can somebody helped?
- 1:10:47Speaker 7: No one will have sex with me? Oh that cracked
- 1:10:55Speaker 7: me up.
- 1:10:56Speaker 5: No, who's Who's movie trivia?
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: So let's go to that now, Robins And.
- 1:11:03Speaker 5: He pronounced the author's name again one more time.
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: Polinick Poulinick.
- 1:11:07Speaker 5: I have always said it the other way. Author Chuck
- 1:11:11Speaker 5: Polinick first came up with the idea for the novel
- 1:11:14Speaker 5: after being beat up on a camping trip when he
- 1:11:16Speaker 5: complained to some nearby campers about the noise of their radio.
- 1:11:20Speaker 5: When he returned to work, he was fascinated to find
- 1:11:22Speaker 5: that nobody would mention or acknowledge his injuries, instead saying
- 1:11:27Speaker 5: such commonplace things as how was your weekend? And he
- 1:11:30Speaker 5: concluded the reason people reacted this way was because they
- 1:11:35Speaker 5: if they asked him what had happened. A degree of
- 1:11:37Speaker 5: personal interaction would be necessary, and people just didn't want
- 1:11:41Speaker 5: to connect with him on a personal level. So yeah,
- 1:11:44Speaker 5: that was kind of the impetus for the movie, which
- 1:11:46Speaker 5: I think is interesting.
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: Interesting.
- 1:11:50Speaker 5: Let's see, there's a short that the short scene which
- 1:11:54Speaker 5: is actually really great, where there Brad Pitt and Edward
- 1:11:57Speaker 5: Norton are like drunk and hitting golf balls. Apparently they
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: are actually legit drunk, and the golf balls are sailing
- 1:12:06Speaker 5: directly into the side of the catering.
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: Truck apparently, so they were just peppering the catering truck
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: and having a grand old time. So that's kind of fun.
- 1:12:15Speaker 5: Let's see the DVD copy. After the copyright warning that
- 1:12:20Speaker 5: comes up at the beginning of it, there's another warning there,
- 1:12:24Speaker 5: and it's from Tyler Durden.
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: It just flashes for.
- 1:12:26Speaker 5: A second, but it says something along the lines of,
- 1:12:29Speaker 5: if you're reading this, then this warning is for you.
- 1:12:32Speaker 5: Every word you read of this useless fine print is
- 1:12:35Speaker 5: another second off your life. Don't you have things to do?
- 1:12:38Speaker 5: You know? That sort of same, like, yeah, the time
- 1:12:41Speaker 5: and all that stuff. So I thought that was kind
- 1:12:43Speaker 5: of fun, fun little easter egg.
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: Let's see.
- 1:12:47Speaker 5: Oh, the hitting him in the ear, He actually did
- 1:12:51Speaker 5: hit a bread Pitt in the ear. He was originally
- 1:12:55Speaker 5: going to fake hit him, but before the same Fincher
- 1:12:57Speaker 5: pulled Norton aside and told him to really hit him
- 1:12:59Speaker 5: in in the ear, And after he hit him, you
- 1:13:03Speaker 5: can see him smiling and laughing while Pitt is hurting
- 1:13:06Speaker 5: and swearing.
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: So I'm always surprised when I hear about actors like
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: really doing stuff.
- 1:13:12Speaker 5: Like that, like that that's cool. Actually like saying or
- 1:13:16Speaker 5: be like hit me. But let's both agree, you know, like, yeah.
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: I'm with you to do it for the surprise is like,
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: that's not cool.
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: It seems not cool.
- 1:13:26Speaker 7: I'm with you method acting, yes, but I don't know.
- 1:13:30Speaker 5: It seems like there should be consent talked about, but
- 1:13:33Speaker 5: maybe not in this film.
- 1:13:36Speaker 7: Is it easier to ask for forgiveness?
- 1:13:40Speaker 5: But that doesn't make it.
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: No, Yes, I hear you, for sure. Let's see.
- 1:13:47Speaker 5: We said the thing about the line I still can't
- 1:13:49Speaker 5: believe it, I want to have your abortion was too
- 1:13:53Speaker 5: gross and they went to that other line, my Heavens.
- 1:13:58Speaker 5: During the shooting of the film, Helena Bottom Carter insisted
- 1:14:01Speaker 5: that her makeup artist apply all of her eye makeup
- 1:14:04Speaker 5: with her left hand, because she felt that Marlow woulds
- 1:14:08Speaker 5: not a person who'd be, you know, particularly skilled that
- 1:14:11Speaker 5: or concerned with correctly applying makeup. And I thought that
- 1:14:13Speaker 5: was just like a neat, a neat sort of methody thing.
- 1:14:16Speaker 5: As well, this is insane. The visible breath in the
- 1:14:21Speaker 5: cave scene when you see him like when he's entering
- 1:14:25Speaker 5: his mind cave or whatever, that is recycled visible breath
- 1:14:30Speaker 5: from Leo DiCaprio in the Titanic movie, and it was
- 1:14:36Speaker 5: compositive into the shot and I was like, that's insane, Okay.
- 1:14:41Speaker 3: So would he have had to have gotten permission from
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: James Cameron to do that? Then?
- 1:14:46Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't know. They don't go into that in
- 1:14:48Speaker 5: this trivia, so I have no idea unless like maybe
- 1:14:51Speaker 5: the if it was the same FX company or something,
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: maybe they own the.
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:14:57Speaker 5: Yeah, seems like he would have had to write yeah, wild.
- 1:15:01Speaker 5: Let's say, when the fight club member sprays the priest
- 1:15:05Speaker 5: with the hose, the camera briefly shakes and apparently that's
- 1:15:09Speaker 5: the cameraman laughing, and he couldn't keep himself from laughing.
- 1:15:14Speaker 5: And I thought that was really funny because it was Adlete.
- 1:15:16Speaker 5: I guess it was like, we're gonna he's gonna mess
- 1:15:18Speaker 5: with you, but we don't know how.
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: And then it just like sprayed him and stuff. I guess,
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: which is fun.
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: It was funny, man, Yeah, I really liked that. That
- 1:15:25Speaker 3: was a funny scene.
- 1:15:26Speaker 5: There's a it's a it's a movie, and maybe it's
- 1:15:28Speaker 5: helped because it is so serious and nihilistic a lot,
- 1:15:31Speaker 5: but there's some really funny, genuinely funny parts of this,
- 1:15:34Speaker 5: which is fun. Brad Pick got talked into doing the
- 1:15:39Speaker 5: movie when David Fincher arrived on his doorstep while he
- 1:15:44Speaker 5: was making Meet Joe Black in nineteen ninety eight, insisting
- 1:15:47Speaker 5: that they go for a beer, and then he pitched
- 1:15:50Speaker 5: the movie to him, and he agreed to read the
- 1:15:51Speaker 5: screenplay and it all went on from there.
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: So because initially he turned it down, it sounded like.
- 1:15:56Speaker 5: Oh okay, nice nice.
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:15:57Speaker 5: Yeah, it just says that he wasn't overly in So yeah,
- 1:16:01Speaker 5: I guess if you turn it down that.
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: Applies for sure. Let's see.
- 1:16:06Speaker 5: Oh, originally, Chuck didn't know that Tyler and the narrator
- 1:16:12Speaker 5: were the same person until he was two thirds of
- 1:16:15Speaker 5: the way through writing the story, at which he point
- 1:16:18Speaker 5: he noticed that they acted together as one person, and
- 1:16:21Speaker 5: then chose to finish the story as such.
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: So like, that's wild, Like he didn't.
- 1:16:25Speaker 5: Even have I think that's really neat.
- 1:16:29Speaker 3: That is crazy.
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: I've never heard that.
- 1:16:31Speaker 5: Yeah, And when Tyler and the narrator are hitting the
- 1:16:35Speaker 5: cars with baseball bats, you know, apparently Tyler hits first,
- 1:16:40Speaker 5: but the alarm is only triggered when the narrator hits
- 1:16:43Speaker 5: it sort of an homage to only one of them
- 1:16:47Speaker 5: is actually happening.
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: Wow, I did.
- 1:16:51Speaker 5: I definitely didn't notice that, right, but that was in there,
- 1:16:54Speaker 5: which is cool.
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: Let's see.
- 1:16:58Speaker 5: Also another just cool thing in that airport, Valet gives
- 1:17:03Speaker 5: them the car and he addresses him as mister Durden.
- 1:17:06Speaker 5: He's apparently staring directly at the narrator, not not Tyler.
- 1:17:11Speaker 5: Well he is, you know what I mean? Yea, And
- 1:17:16Speaker 5: I just thought this was nuts. That final shot of
- 1:17:18Speaker 5: the collapsing buildings was designed by Richard Bailey, who worked
- 1:17:23Speaker 5: on that one shot for over fourteen months straight, and
- 1:17:28Speaker 5: according to Fincher, there are almost four million separately animated
- 1:17:33Speaker 5: digital elements in that shot, which is insane. I mean,
- 1:17:38Speaker 5: that sounds like truly maddening.
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: To me, honestly. Yeah.
- 1:17:44Speaker 5: So yeah, there was a lot more trivia, but I
- 1:17:47Speaker 5: didn't want to undate you anymore.
- 1:17:49Speaker 3: I get yep, yep, yep. That's a good idea. I
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: had a couple. Other one was Chuck Polinik claims coining
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: the term snowflake to describe a generation that is easily
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: offended by opposing world views, stemming from the line you
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: are not a beautiful and unique snowflake. So he is
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: taking credit for that right. As far as other actors
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: and things, it sounds like it did come down to
- 1:18:22Speaker 3: Helena bottom Carter and Reese Witherspoon.
- 1:18:25Speaker 7: Wow.
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: Fincher wanted bottom Carter, but the studio wanted a bigger
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: name and chose to go with Witherspoon. In the end, however,
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: the decision was taken out of their hands when Witherspoon
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: turned down the role as being too dark and I
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: cannot imagine blonde. I can't imagine. I think she's talented
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: enough to be able to do that, but I can't
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: picture it at all with you. Oh, One thing I
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: saw was that Fincher wanted to try and include a
- 1:19:02Speaker 3: single frame flash of Tyler Durden. We didn't talk about that.
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: How they had those.
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: Little like that was such a funny thing.
- 1:19:09Speaker 3: Yeah, those little bursts of Tyler Durden. And I think
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: it's pretty early in the movie where we saw, but
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: they wanted it in the twentieth Century Fox logo, which
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: I liked.
- 1:19:21Speaker 5: Oh that's cool. He's pointing, pointing too, He's pointing on
- 1:19:24Speaker 5: his computer.
- 1:19:25Speaker 7: You can't you can't really see it. See, I did
- 1:19:27Speaker 7: his whole thing where I was like trying to have
- 1:19:30Speaker 7: that in the background.
- 1:19:31Speaker 3: I love nice.
- 1:19:32Speaker 7: That's that's Tyler up there, Tyler Nice.
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: Well, our patrons can see it. Sure, do you want
- 1:19:38Speaker 3: to see it? Dot com slash the avidendorsment. Yeah, so
- 1:19:43Speaker 3: I liked that. He also then tried to do it
- 1:19:46Speaker 3: in the Regency Enterprises logo, and they also wouldn't allow.
- 1:19:49Speaker 5: Him to do that, gotcha.
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: I did like that idea. And Fincher was not first
- 1:19:55Speaker 3: contacted for this film. It initially number one was Peter Jackson.
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: Oh wow, okayyep.
- 1:20:05Speaker 3: Number two is singer and number three was Danny Boyle
- 1:20:10Speaker 3: and they were all in the midst of other projects
- 1:20:13Speaker 3: and couldn't.
- 1:20:13Speaker 7: Do it right.
- 1:20:14Speaker 5: Well, yeah, Peter Jackson was busy at that point.
- 1:20:17Speaker 7: No way he's going to get Peter Jackson.
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: No doubt. Why.
- 1:20:22Speaker 7: Yeah, can you imagine, like the mag the alternate reality
- 1:20:27Speaker 7: like this becomes like a Lord of the Rings type movie.
- 1:20:30Speaker 7: It's extra hour long.
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: I just can't imagine doing something that.
- 1:20:37Speaker 5: No, that'd be weird, be interesting.
- 1:20:41Speaker 3: Yeah, it would be interesting. That was all I had though.
- 1:20:44Speaker 5: Nice, I love it. Well, what do we think Judgment Day?
- 1:20:48Speaker 5: Will there be a sequel? I did see that.
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: Chuck Polinick did write a fight Club too, and it
- 1:20:55Speaker 3: was a it was a graphic novel series.
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:20:58Speaker 3: And the story takes place ten years after the original
- 1:21:01Speaker 3: book and explores the concept of a second father in
- 1:21:04Speaker 3: the hero's journey. So he is now married to Marla
- 1:21:10Speaker 3: and they have a nine year old son.
- 1:21:13Speaker 5: That would actually kind of be interesting. I might check
- 1:21:15Speaker 5: that out. That sounds that sounds kind of cool.
- 1:21:18Speaker 3: But I don't believe that they're planning on now doing
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: I doubt they'd make the movie.
- 1:21:24Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, interesting.
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: I thought that's interesting.
- 1:21:28Speaker 7: Yeah, so the answer is.
- 1:21:29Speaker 5: No, probably not agreed?
- 1:21:33Speaker 3: Yeah, no, probably not. Well, then do you guys want
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: to play a game?
- 1:21:37Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 1:21:38Speaker 7: I do do.
- 1:21:39Speaker 3: I decided to do a deep cuts game and We
- 1:21:44Speaker 3: used to call this Malkovich Malkovich Malkovich, but there was
- 1:21:48Speaker 3: a certain person actually on tonight that was very confused
- 1:21:53Speaker 3: by it, so we're now calling it deep cuts. So
- 1:21:57Speaker 3: deep cuts, I'm going to say a quote, and I'm
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: gonna want you to tell me three different things the movie,
- 1:22:04Speaker 3: that it's from, the actor who said it, and the
- 1:22:07Speaker 3: character's name, So you can get three points for each quote.
- 1:22:11Speaker 3: If you get any of those wrong, the other person
- 1:22:13Speaker 3: can steal for points. All of these quotes do have
- 1:22:16Speaker 3: something in common, so if you know what it is,
- 1:22:19Speaker 3: you can ring in with your name. New Tribe love it,
- 1:22:25Speaker 3: we said, Does that make sense? Everybody feel good?
- 1:22:27Speaker 5: Yes?
- 1:22:28Speaker 7: Yep?
- 1:22:28Speaker 3: Cool number one. I do wish we could chat longer,
- 1:22:33Speaker 3: but I'm having an old friend for dinner, Bukes Bukes.
- 1:22:40Speaker 5: So it's definitely Hannibal Lecter it is, and Anthony Hopkins
- 1:22:46Speaker 5: it is. Is it the silence of the Lambs? It's
- 1:22:49Speaker 5: the silence of the Lambs?
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: I just got scared.
- 1:22:51Speaker 5: It was the Hannibal movie. Yeah, you know you were
- 1:22:54Speaker 5: screwing with those or something nice.
- 1:22:56Speaker 7: I would have got that one.
- 1:22:57Speaker 3: I think you would have to believe you get ready
- 1:23:01Speaker 3: for this one, Adam just get ready.
- 1:23:05Speaker 7: Okay, I'll just.
- 1:23:06Speaker 3: Number two finish. Wait, number two? Roads where we're going?
- 1:23:11Speaker 3: We don't need roads, Adam, I think Buke's got it?
- 1:23:18Speaker 7: That that wasn't sorry, babe?
- 1:23:23Speaker 5: Back to the future. Yes, Doc Brown? Yes, what is
- 1:23:29Speaker 5: his name though?
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: Find Christopher Lloyd Boom? Got it? Do you know Doc
- 1:23:35Speaker 3: Brown's first name?
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: Emmett nice Emmitt Brown?
- 1:23:41Speaker 3: Nicely done?
- 1:23:43Speaker 5: Another three points, mostly because Mary Steinbergen calls him emment
- 1:23:46Speaker 5: all the time.
- 1:23:47Speaker 3: In the third one, love it all right, Let's go
- 1:23:51Speaker 3: to number three. Life moves pretty fast. If you don't
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: stop and look around once in a while, you might
- 1:23:58Speaker 3: miss it.
- 1:23:59Speaker 5: Oh uh, Bukes, Bukes, fair Spueller's stay off, yes, fair Spueller.
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: Yes, Matthew Brodrick.
- 1:24:11Speaker 3: We're doing well. I'm honest, you're doing well. Are we
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: noticing any themes here?
- 1:24:20Speaker 5: No?
- 1:24:20Speaker 3: Okay, all right, let's go to number four.
- 1:24:26Speaker 7: Movies from the eighties.
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: That's not correct, Sounds of the Lamps.
- 1:24:31Speaker 5: It's in the nineties, but movies Psychosis, No, Packs of
- 1:24:36Speaker 5: the Future doesn't work for that, got it.
- 1:24:37Speaker 3: Let's go to number four. They called me mister Glass.
- 1:24:46Speaker 5: Oh, Bukes, Bukes, unbreakable, unbreakable, Samuel L.
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: Jackson.
- 1:24:53Speaker 3: Yes, I would be impressed.
- 1:24:55Speaker 5: His name is mister Glass, but I don't know, Yeah,
- 1:24:58Speaker 5: definitely not. I don't know his first name.
- 1:25:00Speaker 3: Yeah. Do you know his name in this in that rep?
- 1:25:03Speaker 7: I don't Philip.
- 1:25:05Speaker 5: Yeah, please, got a different name, right, like the glasses
- 1:25:09Speaker 5: not Is that his real name?
- 1:25:11Speaker 3: No? No, no, yeah, that was just what the kids
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: called him.
- 1:25:15Speaker 5: What it was?
- 1:25:16Speaker 3: His name was Elijah? Yeah? But another two points for bugs.
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: Let's go to number five. I never had any friends
- 1:25:28Speaker 3: like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus,
- 1:25:31Speaker 3: does anyone Oh bugs, bugsp how's your mic? Is your
- 1:25:38Speaker 3: mic working?
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: Says?
- 1:25:43Speaker 7: Is that.
- 1:25:45Speaker 3: Stand by me? It is stand by me?
- 1:25:48Speaker 5: Now it's it's Richard Dreyfus that says it it raider.
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: But are you looking for the kid's name?
- 1:25:56Speaker 3: I'm just looking for Richard Dreyfus's name.
- 1:26:03Speaker 5: Oh, because he is the kid. I don't remember the
- 1:26:05Speaker 5: kid's name. I don't know the character name.
- 1:26:08Speaker 3: So if you would have gotten the kid's name, I
- 1:26:11Speaker 3: would have given it to you. However, in the movie,
- 1:26:14Speaker 3: Richard Dreyfus is referred to as the writer.
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: The writer.
- 1:26:19Speaker 3: Yeah, got so that was a tough one.
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: I just watched that to be fair. So yep at
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: the Oregon Getaway.
- 1:26:26Speaker 3: Where are we after five?
- 1:26:29Speaker 5: I've got thirteen? Rupp has a functioning mic from everything
- 1:26:33Speaker 5: we're told, and he has now.
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: Left the picture.
- 1:26:37Speaker 3: Have we noticed anything about any of these quotes?
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: So? Oh oh god?
- 1:26:43Speaker 5: That quotes themselves Where we are?
- 1:26:46Speaker 3: It's life is.
- 1:26:51Speaker 5: Life is a highway of references.
- 1:26:53Speaker 3: Life is a highway reference. It's that's a.
- 1:26:55Speaker 5: Great free music dot com The Crazier Life Tour.
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: Go check it out right now, all.
- 1:27:00Speaker 3: Right, nobody, let's keep going. Let's keep going. Number six.
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: I don't know what you're pointing us to.
- 1:27:06Speaker 3: You know you're fine, number six? Okay, chief take him away.
- 1:27:11Speaker 3: I'm going to go home and sleep with my wife. Adam, Adam. Correct?
- 1:27:18Speaker 3: Nice John Ritter not right? No?
- 1:27:23Speaker 7: No, is it Jonathan Ridter.
- 1:27:25Speaker 3: No, it's not John Ritt. It's not that actor. But
- 1:27:30Speaker 3: I could kind of see it. It kind of looks
- 1:27:33Speaker 3: like him from back then.
- 1:27:34Speaker 7: It's a guy from Three's Companies too.
- 1:27:36Speaker 3: That is John Ridder. But that is not who this is.
- 1:27:40Speaker 7: Tim Curry saying, oh yeah, it's that's not him.
- 1:27:44Speaker 3: Wow, that's not him. I don't know, I've only seen
- 1:27:47Speaker 3: do you know what the character's name is bru.
- 1:27:50Speaker 7: I thought I was disqualified because I do.
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: You know what the character's name is? Yes, what's the
- 1:27:55Speaker 3: character's name?
- 1:27:56Speaker 7: Get mister nice dude?
- 1:28:00Speaker 3: Yeah, you love it too? And where you guess? And Curry?
- 1:28:04Speaker 5: Sure, yeah, he's the butler, right, so yeah, yeah, he's The.
- 1:28:09Speaker 3: Actor's name is Michael McKeon, who was like in this
- 1:28:13Speaker 3: is final tap gotcha?
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, I've only.
- 1:28:16Speaker 3: Ever seen that like some time. I saw it for
- 1:28:19Speaker 3: the first time last year on a plane.
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: That's fun.
- 1:28:24Speaker 3: Do you remember when in the movie that is, yes,
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: when it's the.
- 1:28:30Speaker 7: Very end of the movie. Oh, interesting, it's after the
- 1:28:34Speaker 7: final reveal.
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 1:28:36Speaker 7: Last line, the first, the first, Yeah, the first two
- 1:28:40Speaker 7: endings of the go it's Tim Curry.
- 1:28:42Speaker 5: Yeah, I see what you're doing.
