- 0:11The thing is though, now that you say that, I can't see it.
- 0:13You're absolutely right. After what time?
- 0:15Let's let's talk about that first because I was going to.
- 0:17Go in a totally different direction.
- 0:19You can make as much money as you need and work your way
- 0:22towards any ship in the game. They they were trying to cash in
- 0:26off of that nostalgia and that height.
- 0:32Open comes Radio, your Star Citizen call in show coming to
- 0:39you live from the verse every Wednesday at 9:00 PM Join us.
- 0:44You can call on in in our Discord, share your thoughts.
- 0:48If you don't like the sound of your voice, you can always pop
- 0:50in our Discord and just type in the ask the couch for some of
- 0:55our new listeners. The way we get this going, as we
- 0:57have a big old couch here and as we call in, they just kind of
- 1:01scoot on down the couch. You call in, you stay on, be a
- 1:05part of the conversation. Most weeks I'm here with my Co
- 1:09host Tav. But if you tuned in last week,
- 1:12you'll know that Tav is that a baking show?
- 1:16He's baking. Last week he did something with
- 1:17Peaches. This week he didn't want to tell
- 1:20me. I think they're pretty, pretty
- 1:23litigious. So with Tav not here today, I do
- 1:28have a fantastic Co host with me, leader of the Red Scar
- 1:34nomads. Murphy, Jack.
- 1:36Murphy, Jack. Welcome to Open Coms Radio.
- 1:39Well hello, it's a pleasure to Co host with you there.
- 1:43It's a pleasure to be Co hosted by you.
- 1:47So with you, yes. So what do we think about the
- 1:53question? What's the question?
- 1:56Should I care about citizen gun? Oof.
- 2:04Maybe. I don't know if you if you know,
- 2:09after last year's Citizen Con I felt kind of down, but the year
- 2:14before I was right and high. So there's for me, there's a lot
- 2:21of different things that play into the Citizens Con.
- 2:25This will be my third one that I'm actually going to a physical
- 2:30con, but but this year is a little different, right?
- 2:33Well, this year it's Citizen Con Direct, so it's a digital event.
- 2:37So bar citizens all over the world, all over the world.
- 2:40You could find some around you, unless you're on the East Coast.
- 2:44If you're on the East Coast of the United States, it looks like
- 2:47you might only have a few options, at least a couple
- 2:50options where CIG may be sending people a couple of really big
- 2:55options. We're going to be doing one of
- 2:57those in DC. We're going to be at DC Bar
- 3:01Citizen doing some Star Citizen stuff.
- 3:04You're going to be there with us.
- 3:07Yeah, it's shaping up to be pretty awesome.
- 3:10Getting excited. It's only a month away.
- 3:13Need to get those RSVPS in. If you're coming, let us.
- 3:17Know how many you're coming exactly.
- 3:22What do you think? What should I care?
- 3:26Yeah, that's your question. I totally think you should care.
- 3:31Now I've seen some like things that people say, you know,
- 3:34waiting on the stuff we saw 12 months ago on that.
- 3:37And that's like, yes, that's a big part of it.
- 3:40And I think towards the actual Citizen Khan stuff they show us.
- 3:45Should we care? I mean, yeah, that's the
- 3:47direction they're. We're getting a little bit of
- 3:50behind the scenes look at how they're building this and a
- 3:54little explanations why it might be taking so long, whether we I
- 3:58agree with it or not, right. But I mean, what other game,
- 4:04alpha game is there that like shows us this level of their
- 4:09ongoing development? They say it all the time at
- 4:12their inside stars and stuff. Let it, you know, thank you for
- 4:16letting us share this process of game development with you.
- 4:19That's true. And then to be able to go to a
- 4:22citizen con in person with thousands of other people that
- 4:26are in the same boat as you as alpha testers.
- 4:29But loving this experience. Just the energy you feel there
- 4:33is amazing. So there's so many different
- 4:36aspects that. You should.
- 4:38Care about one being the biggest one for me being community is my
- 4:41biggest care right, but there's so many different things we've.
- 4:47Had some. It gets pretty pretty wild these
- 4:50events sometimes. Well, those are the after
- 4:53parties, right? The event themselves.
- 4:55Don't get too wild. It all mashes together.
- 4:59Yes, it does. We'll see that.
- 5:01Good times and. We'll see that in about a month.
- 5:04But yeah, I totally think everybody should care about it,
- 5:08put the effort in to watch it, rewatch it, and then also later
- 5:14on down the road, do a little look back, see what we've
- 5:18gotten. It was funny because the other
- 5:21night we were all talking about how when we saw in LA the Pyro
- 5:25playground, right? Pyro hasn't even been out a
- 5:29whole year yet. If you'll it's honestly when
- 5:31we'd said that Pyro hasn't been out a year, we're all like, wow,
- 5:34well. From when we played it to when
- 5:36they released it, it was maybe a year and a half.
- 5:41Yeah, that was what so it. Would be in October and then it
- 5:44came out in when Pyro come out like December, January of this
- 5:49year. Did it come out before the end
- 5:53of the year? It came out with Christmas.
- 5:56I I don't know for sure. I'd have to look it up, but it
- 6:01was around that time, it was after IE, right?
- 6:05But just, you know, we get a lot of things they show us in
- 6:09Citizens Con, but we also don't get a lot of things or haven't
- 6:13gotten a lot of things. That they showed us.
- 6:15So there is. You know, a back and forth.
- 6:19Oh yeah, the fire. Fire the whale, Space whale all.
- 6:27Right, I think we're going to dive through a lot of these on
- 6:30this episode. Today.
- 6:31We do have 3 callers in the waiting room.
- 6:33Murphy, did you see who got in there first?
- 6:37Lord Anubis, I think. So, so we're going to pull on up
- 6:40our first guest. You know how it works, Murphy.
- 6:43Jack, when they come on in, you can ask him the question and and
- 6:46they'll stay on the couch with us.
- 6:48Open comms radio. Welcome, Lord Anubis.
- 6:52Well, hello. Anubis, I am so glad that I am
- 6:58the first person that I won today.
- 7:01Oh yeah, And let me turn off Twitch so I don't hear myself
- 7:04because that is really disconcerting.
- 7:05Sorry. I like I can deepen your voice
- 7:09later. Oh, oh, OK, OK, that that would
- 7:12work. I usually do.
- 7:13I deepen. Everyone sound like this like
- 7:15hey what's going on how y'all doing?
- 7:18Well, open Coms Radio. Every week we have a question
- 7:20for our callers. This week is no different.
- 7:22Murphy, Jack, what's our question for Laura Nubis?
- 7:25Good. I care about Citizen Khan.
- 7:29Yes, you should, because even if it's not physical, it's still a
- 7:34fun, enjoyable thing to even if there's shit that is bullshit,
- 7:41it's still fun to talk about it. It gives us something to talk
- 7:44about. It keeps us talking to our
- 7:45friends. We can get mad about it, we can
- 7:47get happy about it, and we're still sharing experiences
- 7:51together. And I think that's important,
- 7:54especially right now. And you know, people are like,
- 7:57not really having much else to talk about other than
- 7:59infuriating shit. Are you concerned at all that
- 8:04it's digital in only two hours? Not really.
- 8:11I mean, it's the way a lot of these things are going.
- 8:14It's it's not the only franchise that's doing this even even
- 8:19well, I'll just bring up Star Trek because I'm a Uber Star
- 8:21Trek nerd, but I used to go to a lot of events that Paramount
- 8:25would throw. And each year for every Star
- 8:28Trek day, which is September 8th, they would hold a big
- 8:31party, right? And we would go to like, let's
- 8:34say the Skirball Center, which is a, which is a, which is like
- 8:39a cultural Arts Center. It's very, very high up there,
- 8:41right? And they would serve wine.
- 8:43They I, I would get, I get wasted there.
- 8:46Like if, you know, if I check it up, like they serve a lot,
- 8:49right? And you have all the stars out
- 8:51there doing all these things and it's wonderful.
- 8:53And they stopped doing those a couple years ago just because
- 8:55the entire industry across everything is just kind of
- 8:59running out of money. Yeah, and, and I think that
- 9:03especially as it is harder and harder for people to get around
- 9:06the world, having it is just the natural conclusion.
- 9:10I I'm not so mad at them as as I am at the world for that.
- 9:16Just just for shit being so bad that it that it's affecting the
- 9:21things we celebrate and love. Right.
- 9:25Well, I mean, so I guess the good part you're saying is that
- 9:27they have all these, it's decentralized.
- 9:29So everyone for the most part can go to an event you know
- 9:33relatively close to them. Yeah, well, we still have
- 9:36something to celebrate. And now you know it, it'll be.
- 9:40It'll be more of a production rather than a.
- 9:44You know, a production live. Event the different production
- 9:47yeah, I mean, but a production you can rehearse several times,
- 9:50then you then you run it live and right, right.
- 9:56But, you know, we still have things we still have things to
- 9:59talk about and as much as we want to bitch about the game,
- 10:02they do do what they do and they and they make more of what they
- 10:07do and you know, even if it's upsetting like or pisses you
- 10:12off, it's still something that you're talking to someone else
- 10:15about that I don't know that's it.
- 10:17So yeah, we should like it. Nicely said.
- 10:23Well spoken, Murphy. Jack, you have any another
- 10:25question for Lord Anubis? No, you hit the nail on the
- 10:29head. I just would say, do you feel
- 10:33this is something I wanted to ask everybody to do?
- 10:35We feel that the reason why it's two hours and digital only is
- 10:40because next year they want to do something huge.
- 10:44You think that's possible? That would be a very good reason
- 10:49that that's the hopeful reason. I think that, you know, it would
- 10:56be the, I mean, if they're actually going to release
- 10:59Squadron 42, then that would be that we the best and most
- 11:05hopeful reason. But I I'm not holding up for
- 11:08that. Just generally, even even if
- 11:10it's something as momentous as that, I just think generally
- 11:17that it's it's kind of just not easy to do right now, Not like
- 11:21it was. I mean venue prices are insane.
- 11:25Yeah. But I think, I think in
- 11:27reference to being at two hours, I think they just don't have
- 11:29more than two hours that they want to share.
- 11:31And two hours isn't a lot of time.
- 11:33If you think about they do like an hour a week or they were
- 11:35doing an hour a week. So I think it's just going to be
- 11:38pop, pop, pop short 5-10 minutes because most of the stuff that
- 11:44they are likely going to deliver they bragged about for the last
- 11:47two years. So you can't do another year
- 11:49bragging about the same shit that you've been working on for
- 11:52the last two years. So I think they would do like a
- 11:56montage like upcoming pop, pop, pop, pop and all like the stuff
- 12:00we know. And then they'll do like, you
- 12:02know, probably 2/3 of it on some like new stuff.
- 12:06I just don't, I don't think if you're holding out hope that
- 12:10next year's going to be like some gigantic blowout thing.
- 12:12I don't know, dude. I'm, I'm kind of also thinking
- 12:17that, you know, I mean there'll be auxiliary programming that
- 12:20they're counting on, you know, the lead up to the event that
- 12:23day with other content providers or whatever.
- 12:27Well, like Open Cons Radio. Yeah, there we go.
- 12:30There you go. We are not officially sponsored
- 12:33by. No, we're not.
- 12:35No, but we are sponsored by Cruise Lux.
- 12:39Yes. Cruise Lux is the refreshing
- 12:41drink that will give you that pep in your spep.
- 12:44With 20% SLAM by volume, Cruise Lux has the most SLAM in the
- 12:49industry drink. Cruise Lux give no fucks.
- 12:54Open Comms Radio, your star season calling show.
- 12:57We have another caller in the waiting room.
- 12:59Someone you know, someone you love.
- 13:03Cosmic Hobo hanging out with us. Welcome to Open Comms Radio,
- 13:06buddy. How?
- 13:09Hello. Murphy, Jack, you have a little
- 13:11something you want to ask him. I think I know the answer, but
- 13:15cosmic hobo should I care about Susan Khan?
- 13:19Yes, Yeah, yeah. It's a show everyone.
- 13:24Thanks for coming. Why?
- 13:29Why? Well, I, I have a bit of a
- 13:33conflict of interest with this question, but you, you should
- 13:40care because it's, I think I, I have deep down, my thought is
- 13:46that they're going to pull a surprise patch on us.
- 13:51It's going to be A and in an hour we're going to put Nick's
- 13:57on the test preview server like something like that.
- 14:01At the end, they're going to have a big kind of swelling
- 14:04thing and that's going to be the big reveal is surprise Knicks on
- 14:09the testing server. There's not live.
- 14:11I don't think they're going to do a surprise live launch.
- 14:13That'd be be a little much. But I I do think they're going
- 14:18to pull something like that. Surprise live.
- 14:23Surprise live. Is a sounds like a recipe for a
- 14:27disaster. I'd buy tickets to that.
- 14:31I will say even though our waiting room is has no sound, I
- 14:36can hear screaming Let. It wait, wait, let it wait, let
- 14:40it wait. Let, let hobo, let hobo beef it
- 14:43up a bit for us first. Fluffer.
- 14:46What do you call him, a fluffer? Oh God.
- 14:49Sure. Fluff me up, fluff me up, hobo.
- 14:54Oh. Wow.
- 14:56At least 1/4 I'd say of Star System Direct will be teasing it
- 15:02like it'll be they'll be teasing, Yeah, just like for at
- 15:07least I'd say 1/4 of it. Because honestly, if they're not
- 15:12going to focus on Squadron 42, which I from everything they've
- 15:16kind of hinted at, they won't. If we get anything for Squadron
- 15:2042, the biggest thing we could possibly get I think is a
- 15:24release date. And that's we all know how CIG
- 15:30is with dates, 51st dates, the company.
- 15:37But so like, yeah, which will be a cool finale.
- 15:43Like, yeah, they'll be like, Oh yeah, Nick's is live on the test
- 15:46preview server. And then Chris will start
- 15:49walking up stage and go one more thing and then they'll have some
- 15:54hype music for about like a minute.
- 15:57And then the Squadron 42 coming October, November.
- 16:04Did you make British, you made him like Welsh or something?
- 16:07Like what was that? He is British.
- 16:09He's 9 tails. Is he really?
- 16:12I thought he was Canadian. No, he's British.
- 16:16Why? Why else would they have their
- 16:18like, headquarters in Manchester?
- 16:23Taxes. No, You go to like Toronto or
- 16:30you go somewhere in Canada for like.
- 16:32He's got one. He's got one in Canada.
- 16:34Well, yeah, exactly because it's.
- 16:36Cheap shit though, and there's. Attack breaks, yeah, everyone
- 16:39has studios in Montreal because of the tax breaks, so.
- 16:44The last two episodes I learned that Chris Roberts is 5 foot 8
- 16:48and that he's British. Yes he is British and one of the
- 16:54reasons why Turbulent was in Montreal was because of the tax
- 16:57breaks. Ubisoft has a huge studio there
- 17:01and like every other major video game company has a studio there
- 17:04because of the insane tax breaks they give to to video game
- 17:08companies or tech companies in general.
- 17:11So they can. Fla is what they did.
- 17:15Yeah. We used to give tax breaks and
- 17:17then we stopped giving tax breaks.
- 17:18And they're like, well, Fla, then you know it.
- 17:21It was a very bad decision. It's.
- 17:25One of the reasons Austin has so many tech companies now too is
- 17:28because of their generous tax breaks.
- 17:34Kind of why I like a lot of film companies like Disney and what
- 17:38not film in Georgia because of all the tax breaks there for
- 17:42film companies. That's going away though.
- 17:46Well, maybe one day they can just buy their own planets.
- 17:54Well, funny, that was good. All right, all right.
- 17:59Well, if if you guys are any, do you have anything else nice to
- 18:02say about the Citizen Con Direct before you bring up our next
- 18:06guest? Hey, go to your local live
- 18:08stream of Citizen Con Direct, especially if you're on the East
- 18:13Coast and and you're saying they we are the only, and by we I
- 18:17mean the Washington DC live stream is the only one CIG is
- 18:21coming to you on the East Coast. East, are you are you allowed to
- 18:25say this? Yes.
- 18:27I, I don't know what, what we're allowed to say or not, which is
- 18:30crazy because I'm, I have, I have the microphone.
- 18:33I can't go into the annoyingness that I've had to do with the IG
- 18:38and some of the legal stuff, but that's another topic that I can
- 18:41talk about at another time. All right, All right.
- 18:44Well, we'll bring up. We'll pull up our next one.
- 18:46What do you think? Murphy Jack.
- 18:48Yeah. Murphy Jack.
- 18:50I mean, are you just all right? Murphy Jack.
- 18:53Here's this next one. You can introduce him.
- 18:57Broccoli, Rob. Welcome to Open Comms Radio.
- 19:02Thanks so much. I think I may have heard you
- 19:06making some noise down there. Oh yeah, about the.
- 19:15Next, but first, should I care about Citizen Khan?
- 19:21Should you care about Citizen Khan?
- 19:23All right, so here's here's what I think.
- 19:27I think you should care about Citizen Khan, but not to the
- 19:32level that I think it's been built up to in the past.
- 19:37I think that they are showing that with this all digital 2
- 19:43hour show that they're trying to take what they found to be the
- 19:47best parts of Citizen Con, which is showing off some good stuff
- 19:51and hosting like the community and they decided to get rid of
- 19:59the extra stuff. No huge Convention Center, No
- 20:02like physical goody bags. It's community and it's quick
- 20:09videos, nothing live, nothing to stretch out 2-8 hour days.
- 20:14They just want to give you something good to look at, give
- 20:17you community to interact with. Yeah, get behind that.
- 20:23Also, it's probably way less work for them.
- 20:26Yeah, less work. Yeah, preparing.
- 20:30Like I don't know, 13 different like hour long presentations
- 20:38that they had to get a bunch of software devs to feel
- 20:41comfortable talking in front of thousands of people.
- 20:44Yeah, that's got to be rough. I don't know any company that
- 20:46puts their employees through that.
- 20:49Yeah, like, I'm like, I'm used to talking to groups of people,
- 20:53and that would terrify me. I can't imagine what it's like
- 20:55if you're, you know, just coding all day.
- 21:04Yeah. That's.
- 21:06Interesting to think about. It's it's important they're
- 21:11they're getting the important stuff in front of us.
- 21:15I also think because it's only two hours long that they're
- 21:18running out of far away features to show us like we had like
- 21:23Planetech and stuff like that. And instead of I think.
- 21:28It's engineering still, yeah, I think.
- 21:34I think this is good. I think this is going to be I
- 21:36don't know if I don't know if there are any big like like
- 21:39wrestling fans in in the audience, but the big sort of
- 21:46culmination, the big like season finale in WWE has always been
- 21:49WrestleMania. Kind of like everything builds
- 21:53and builds to this. And that's how that's what I
- 21:58think Citizen Khan is a little bit like.
- 22:00It's like the the season finale, all right, they're going to come
- 22:07in, they're going to show us all this stuff that they kind of
- 22:11said that they want to do for the year and then like moving
- 22:13forward, what the next year storyline is going to be like.
- 22:18I see like the end of the calendar year for Citizen Con
- 22:22Development being, I'm sorry, Star Citizen Development being
- 22:26Citizen Con. But what's, what is that?
- 22:29What does that end of the year look like to you?
- 22:32Give me, give me two. Things two things that what that
- 22:36I think is going to be at. Yeah.
- 22:39What's this kind of a conclusion?
- 22:40Because now we're only a month away from Citizen Con, which is
- 22:45the conclusion. So.
- 22:47And then after that they only have two more patches maybe,
- 22:51probably only one if they give us one at Citizen Con because
- 22:55it's only said they were going to give us 10, so.
- 22:58So I. Think this is going to be?
- 23:00The end of Pyro being the sort of hot new thing and I think
- 23:06that's going to they're going to introduce Knicks I.
- 23:08Don't know if it's going to. Come out.
- 23:10I I can't I can't wait. I don't know if it's going to
- 23:13come out like this year even, but I think that I would love
- 23:19for it to come out this year. I would love to get that
- 23:20December Knicks drop before everyone leaves for the holiday.
- 23:25But I think that this is the start of the Nick's hype and all
- 23:32of the features that they've hinted at previously, like like
- 23:37on ship refuelling, engineering. Really.
- 23:44That's a that's a tall order on ship refuelling.
- 23:47You mean like I'm on my ship in the back of it?
- 23:49And what do you mean ship to ship?
- 23:54It's it's not as far away as you think because they have talked
- 23:58about it coming for a quote upcoming event.
- 24:01It is important for a quote upcoming event.
- 24:04Refuelling. Yes, ship refuelling and
- 24:07rearming. What does that mean?
- 24:09That mean though like I'm I'm I'm I have to fill my ammo or
- 24:12whatever physically. So you'll have a It's only for
- 24:16like certain ships, big ships. So Polaris interest.
- 24:20If you have SCU of ship ammunition, hydrogen fuel,
- 24:24quantum fuel on there, and you land a fighter in the hangar,
- 24:28you'll be able to treat it like landing services on a space
- 24:31station hangar. Yeah, they'll be able to refuel
- 24:34from you, just like if you went to a pad, but you got to be
- 24:38stocked. So they're hinting at this
- 24:43coming down the pipeline soon for like, like I said, an
- 24:47upcoming event. And there's not a whole lot of
- 24:51places that we can't get to even in a fighter.
- 24:54But if you look at Nix, there's not much there and there's a
- 24:59whole lot of system. OK.
- 25:03Oh, so you think they need it? Oh yeah, I think it's need 100%
- 25:10needed for an upcoming event that will happen in.
- 25:13Nix. Nix.
- 25:15I, I do think that they also need to go back to having the
- 25:20fuel run out really quick more give people a reason to like
- 25:25float out in the middle of nowhere and say, hey, you know,
- 25:28you need fuel. Come on over here.
- 25:30I'm just floating in midway between this.
- 25:32You can get to me or, you know, give people a reason to be fuel
- 25:36rats because there currently isn't any, because people were
- 25:39like, I can't go anywhere without having to go to like 5
- 25:42places. Like, OK, well, welcome to, you
- 25:45know, the world consequences plan better.
- 25:49You know, I like that part of it, but then I got rid of it.
- 25:54Yeah, that was a little disappointing.
- 25:56But yeah, I think that's going to be the major thing that they
- 26:01throw out for Citizen Con. That and some kind of
- 26:06terraforming thing where they can introduce swap biomes
- 26:08finally, but I don't know where that's going to come in.
- 26:13Yeah, none of the next systems, to my understanding, would have
- 26:17a swamp. None of them are they at least
- 26:21in the original concept for the 3:00-ish planets there they are
- 26:27lifeless and inhospitable. Which, yes, I know the next
- 26:31response is, but Pyre was supposed to be lifeless in the
- 26:33hospital too. Yeah but like it makes sense now
- 26:40what Pyro is. I don't know how they could make
- 26:43Nicks make sense being some populated system when it's been
- 26:48completely sold constantly as a dead zone.
- 26:52Yeah, and it being a dead system is going to bring in scanning
- 26:57gameplay as a nothing that they develop and are able to work on
- 27:02and get us to use. This is a lot.
- 27:07I'm. I'm a little more pessimistic
- 27:09just because I'm still waiting on that engineering and that
- 27:11fire from two years ago. Yeah.
- 27:13Well, hey, they've got the tech preview up.
- 27:16They got that cooking now, so. Is that in tech preview?
- 27:20No, no, no, but they have tech, the tech preview up and running
- 27:23now for all waves. So they're they're pushing it.
- 27:26So it's. You have engineering.
- 27:28No, no, there's a tech preview. It doesn't have engineering.
- 27:31It's just. Vulcan.
- 27:32Yeah, it's Vulcan. It's just Vulcan.
- 27:35But because they're introducing it to all waves and they're
- 27:37trying to work out kinks on it, it makes sense that that now is
- 27:41going to have engineering added to it soon.
- 27:46Tech Preview Come back is hopeful that they're going to
- 27:48use it again. It's been a while since they've
- 27:50used it, honestly. Yeah, it's just, it's just a
- 27:53Vulcan. And because engineering is
- 27:55definitely not a tech preview kind of thing.
- 27:57I mean that that's that's a patch thing, but like.
- 28:00No, they said. They said they're going to have
- 28:02have it be a tech preview. One of the OK, so they they
- 28:06didn't burn that then, because that's that's something that
- 28:08they need to hurry up with because it's sorry.
- 28:14Well, before I bring up our next guest, we did have a couple
- 28:17people write. They wrote to us.
- 28:20If you're on the Discord, you can ask the couch and here you
- 28:23can write a comment, you know, have a question.
- 28:29So we have two in here. I'm going to read the first one
- 28:31right now. Read the second one later.
- 28:33The first one says it's from Duke Lado.
- 28:36The second can't be there tonight.
- 28:39Should I be excited about Citizen Khan?
- 28:42I absolutely am. I'm going to watch.
- 28:45I'm going to the watch party in DC.
- 28:47So this will be my third trip for Citizen Con.
- 28:49But can't help but feel we are still waiting on lots of things
- 28:53that were promised to be coming within 12 months of last year's
- 28:56event. So that's kind of do kind of
- 29:00echoing at least echoing my sentiment, I think.
- 29:04But maybe we'll get a different point of view here at Murphy
- 29:07Jack. We have one other caller in the
- 29:09waiting room. You know this guy.
- 29:11I do, and he is a familiar face. Wicked.
- 29:17Welcome to open coms radio citizens.
- 29:23Long from the land of Dune. Long time listener, occasional
- 29:27caller. Oh man.
- 29:31You've downgraded yourself. Hurt.
- 29:32Been a while, I know. Why it hurt?
- 29:35Listen, I was going to to answer the question, should I care
- 29:40about Citizen Con? I was super optimistic until I
- 29:44heard you guys talking about it and it's two hours.
- 29:49Yes, yeah. I changed my mind.
- 29:52I'm super pessimistic about it. Oh, I'm shocked.
- 29:57To to me, for every Yang was a gang.
- 30:01Listen, I was very optimistic for it.
- 30:03I thought it was going to be at least like a four 6-8 hour deal.
- 30:07I mean, Warfame, Warframe has nowhere near the money that that
- 30:13CIG has. They put on a 8 hour thing every
- 30:16year and they've done it for like 6-7 years in a row.
- 30:19It's a massive and I mean, obviously that's a finished
- 30:24game, you know, constantly under development, but neither here
- 30:27nor there really. The reason I'm pessimistic about
- 30:30it is because for two hours, what are you going to get in two
- 30:32hours? You know what you're going to
- 30:34get? You're going to get a big
- 30:35marketing PowerPoint. They're basically going to tell
- 30:40you for two hours the next ships you need to buy and hurry up and
- 30:44start saving up, Billy, because these aren't going to last.
- 30:47They're limited edition or some BS.
- 30:49You know, this is that's, that's kind of like when I heard two
- 30:54hours. I'm like, OK, what are they
- 30:55going to do in two hours? I mean literally almost nothing.
- 30:59It would be an absolute waste to make it just a ship sale
- 31:02commercial like that's not what any of the systems cons have
- 31:05been. Well, none of them have only
- 31:08been two hours though, too, right?
- 31:10They've all been way longer than that.
- 31:13Even the digital ones that that we had in the past, they were
- 31:16way longer than two hours. How long was the 2021?
- 31:20Thank you. I remember being online watching
- 31:23that for gosh at least 4 hours I think maybe 5.
- 31:29I mean, literally they only need to have someone like Jared or
- 31:32something like that sit on screen for 8 hours just talking
- 31:36about stuff, interacting with people.
- 31:37Then they do 2 hours worth of presentations.
- 31:40That's how you do a con in real life.
- 31:42So I mean it it, it is kind of weird that they're not doing
- 31:45that. I mean because there is only
- 31:47about two hours of the presentations when you get to a
- 31:49real con. Then then the the other thing
- 31:53that some other threads that started gnawing at me as I was
- 31:56listening to you guys talking about it is like, you know,
- 31:58everybody's talking about Nicks. And you know, that'd be great if
- 32:02they brought that. I'd love to see that, might even
- 32:05make me log in. But then then I started thinking
- 32:10about, well, why only two hours? Unless they got way more
- 32:18marketing stuff to do, they got to do later on this year for
- 32:23something other than Star Citizen Squadron 42 release
- 32:30trailers. You know, getting the average
- 32:32Joe interested in Star Citizen, not just the captive audience
- 32:36that that it has now, but new blood, new players.
- 32:40They need that, you know, they need to put set aside money and
- 32:43marketing dollars because there's going to be a release
- 32:46soon. And instead of spending a bunch
- 32:49of money on on the captured audience, we need to spend money
- 32:54on the new audience. So that started me thinking
- 32:56about that whole thing. I like, well, what are they
- 32:59going to do? You know, this is this is their
- 33:02perfect opportunity. Holiday 2025 because GTA 6 is
- 33:09delayed and GTA 6 is only coming on console for at least a year.
- 33:14Anyway, is it delayed? Yeah, it was supposed to be out
- 33:18this year. It's out.
- 33:19It's coming out next summer. Oh, I thought it was coming out
- 33:2420. Six, you know, holiday release
- 33:27for Squadron 42 would be amazing what every space and space game
- 33:33enthusiast wants in their stocking, you know, and they
- 33:37they could have box additions, collectibles, you know how they
- 33:40are. They love to hype up all the
- 33:42stuff. I mean, just think about it,
- 33:45think it through and this is like big money, big money in the
- 33:50bank, especially if if they could sell close to what what
- 33:55some of these other space games like the was it Bethesda?
- 33:59There was it was that I don't even remember the title.
- 34:02It's it was so terrible. Starfield.
- 34:06Starfield. I mean look how many copies that
- 34:09thing sold and it was a junk. True, you know.
- 34:14Even if you capture half of the audience that that captured and
- 34:17and keep them coming back and wanting maybe to get into Star
- 34:20Citizen, you know, talk about marketing.
- 34:24It's a gold mine. And this this will be mostly all
- 34:27new blood. Yeah.
- 34:29And you're, I mean, you're thinking about this, I think
- 34:31rightfully so as a business management, you know, marketing
- 34:35perspective, you, you have a limited budget, where do you
- 34:38spend it? I could see that that that would
- 34:40make a lot of sense to me. I'm not so pessimistic about it
- 34:44being two hours, though. I'm optimistic about that
- 34:49because I hope. I'm wrong.
- 34:50I'm hope. I'm hope I'm.
- 34:52I'm terribly wrong. I hope I am.
- 34:54I mean I. Well, I mean, how much do you
- 34:55need to advertise? If you look at the last couple
- 34:57of years, some of the most successful games and game
- 35:00releases haven't been marketed at all.
- 35:04But that's good. Well, they released a blade.
- 35:06They had this one, they had this one thing going for them.
- 35:09They were pretty good games. Yeah, Star Citizen can is almost
- 35:14a crazy game. It's a known unknown.
- 35:18It's a known unknown, Yeah. Star Citizen is pretty good and
- 35:22we got it. We got to we, we got to admit
- 35:23that. I mean, look at nail I'm doing
- 35:25right now. I just but we don't we're.
- 35:27We're not. We're talking about Squadron 42
- 35:30though, so. We don't know.
- 35:32We don't know. Yeah, because that's the thing.
- 35:34Everybody knows Star Citizen outside of our world, outside of
- 35:39the Star Citizen world, no one knows Squadron 42.
- 35:42It's not like everybody is like, like the lay people are just out
- 35:45there going. I've heard that Squadron 42 is
- 35:48going to come out one day like they don't know what it is.
- 35:51Most people outside the bubble think this is all a scam.
- 35:55Yeah. OK, most people outside the
- 35:57bubble think it's a scam. So, you know, if you bring
- 36:01something like a single player title out and it's not a scam
- 36:05and it's amazing, guess how the tide will start to turn.
- 36:10That's true. Well, I I would think that what
- 36:13they also need to do is, you know, you get spot in 42.
- 36:16Welcome to Star Citizen. You know, I mean it, it just
- 36:20happens to be part of it, you know, So I think that would
- 36:24definitely bring a new influx of players because I'll be honest,
- 36:27I'll be playing that game for a month.
- 36:29I'll be playing Star Citizen for 10 years.
- 36:31So yes, you know, will it benefit us?
- 36:33But like, I don't know, like I don't, I don't know.
- 36:41I don't know what what what they can do to to really get the type
- 36:45of success that they need to justify the delay of Star
- 36:51Citizen so long. Well, if, if, if, if squadron
- 36:55comes out and it plays smoothly, it it is, it is compelling, it
- 37:01looks good, got a decent frame rate on a halfway decent
- 37:06computer. These are all things that point
- 37:10to the average Joe, the average gamers like, oh, wait a minute,
- 37:14Maybe I was wrong about this. Maybe this whole CIG, Star
- 37:18Citizen whole thing is there's a little bit more to us and, and,
- 37:22and then what I've been led to believe.
- 37:24And I'm I'm talking from the point of view as a non Star
- 37:28Citizen fanatic. Oh, I get it, I get it.
- 37:31So these these are the people that we as a community need more
- 37:36than anything. I think, I think the the the,
- 37:39the existing player base. I mean, yes, this says a 5
- 37:42million accounts, but come on, let's just be serious.
- 37:46How many alts are there in there?
- 37:47How? Many.
- 37:47How many of those people are actually playing of the 5
- 37:50million? Well, how many?
- 37:51How many people here have an alt account?
- 37:54I do. I do, I don't.
- 37:56I don't have a game pack on it but. 1234 of you.
- 38:02I do, I do or I have. I have a citizen.
- 38:05I have a Star Citizen pack on my alt but not a squadron.
- 38:10OK, there you go. So, and just in here and I mean
- 38:14you're all a bunch of animals anyway.
- 38:16So it maybe it's not the best sample.
- 38:18Size, that is, that is true very.
- 38:22Well, no offense. Here's accurate statement.
- 38:24To that, to that point about Squadron 42 and Star Citizen, I
- 38:28think that it's a good thing if they don't talk about Squadron
- 38:3242 during the Citizen Con. Oh yeah.
- 38:38We all know 100. Percent.
- 38:40We all seen it, we all know. Like they're the regular guy
- 38:45who's never really played a space game is tuning in to
- 38:49Citizen. They're going to wait until the
- 38:53Squadron 42 trailer pops up at the end of the year when they
- 38:57start advertising it for a 2026 holiday release, which is my
- 39:02guess. So I would like to get some news
- 39:06about it, but I would also not want to see it at Citizen Con
- 39:11because last. 5 minutes. Just give us the last five
- 39:13minutes. I mean, even if I don't see
- 39:16that, I'm fine with it because fair enough, you know, Like
- 39:20what? What else are we going to see?
- 39:22I don't really care to see anything else other than a firm
- 39:25building state give. It or or a.
- 39:28Demo. I'll take a demo.
- 39:30You know it wouldn't. Big Treat Squadron 42 is the
- 39:34main project. This is the thing that they
- 39:38think is, is, is what we're all funding.
- 39:43We are not funding Star Citizen. We are funding Squadron 42 in
- 39:47their eyes. So I, I don't think that that
- 39:49I'm not talking about is going to happen.
- 39:51I think that it's it, there's going to be a lot of talk about
- 39:53it. There's possibly going to be
- 39:55another demo. There may be even a new live
- 39:58demo that isn't just a bunch of you know.
- 40:02Pre setup animations, you know cut scenes so.
- 40:06I heard they have a leak of Mark Hamill with his shirt off
- 40:12topless. That's not hard to do.
- 40:14I'm. Just saying that's what I heard.
- 40:17Like old man Mark Hamill. Or well, he's it was like 1010
- 40:22or 15 years ago when he recorded. 10 or 15 years ago
- 40:27when he recorded his his. When he recorded his mocap, the
- 40:30first source. Of its squadron.
- 40:33Yeah. Oh.
- 40:35He's supposed to be a military man, so hope.
- 40:38There's a. See there could be that that's
- 40:44what's been holding the game back.
- 40:45They can't get shower tech fixed.
- 40:48Well, we needed to physicalize water droplets coming out of the
- 40:54Bosfitz when they come out, so it has been a hard challenge to
- 40:59overcome. You heard it here first from
- 41:02Jens Flores, CIG developer out of Frankfurt.
- 41:07Is that right, Jens? Yes, yes, yes.
- 41:10It's the only place where we can get Xanax over the table.
- 41:14This is not the only place you can get Xanax over the table,
- 41:17Jens, What is the strangest thing that Chris Roberts has
- 41:22asked you to physicalize? In a recent project, we're
- 41:27working on solid and liquid waste.
- 41:30So now we are working on solid waste and it is our
- 41:34physicalization process has changed.
- 41:37So now we can account the density as well.
- 41:41And how is the density going to affect the biological gameplay?
- 41:47In many ways, depending on how many gallons of waste you may
- 41:53have, if it is more solid waste it is easier to manage with the
- 41:58gravity gun, or if it is more liquid waste than it is harder
- 42:03to manage. And what about fires and
- 42:08engineering gameplay? That is a project we will be
- 42:12working on. Yens Flores, everybody, straight
- 42:17from Frankfurt, Germany. If that doesn't sound like a
- 42:20crock of shit. Yes, the Croc.
- 42:25Is rim shot sound? What's going to happen when when
- 42:28the ship gets disabled, the gravity generator fails?
- 42:31Is there going to be a bunch of shit floating everywhere?
- 42:35We do have a reminder for the player to flush and if they do
- 42:40not flush then yes, that is a possibility.
- 42:43How many? Of these, how many of these
- 42:45savages will not put the seat down?
- 42:50It is you. You press F It's not hard.
- 42:57It'll be in one of the next surveys they send out.
- 43:00Yes, I. Don't think we're going to like
- 43:03the results though. So Murphy Jack, you're my Co
- 43:09host today, my original host, as everyone may or may not know, I
- 43:15I announced the beginning of show.
- 43:17He's on a Bake Off, a Bake Off challenge, not the Bake Off
- 43:21show. I can't tell you which show, but
- 43:22he's on a show right now. He's bacon.
- 43:25Last week he did something with Peaches.
- 43:26He wouldn't tell me he was working with this week.
- 43:29But Drake left us a comment here.
- 43:32Can you see it there, Murphy? In the I can.
- 43:36Oh, you want you read it out for us?
- 43:37So Drake? Tevington asked.
- 43:40So for your question, what's the best way to introduce people to
- 43:43the game who say have the entry Aurora or Mustang?
- 43:48Well, get them out of that Aurora or Mustang, put them in
- 43:51an interest with us. Yeah, show them.
- 43:57Show them what the game could be when you're getting out of a
- 44:01startership. Come play with the group.
- 44:05Yeah, that that goes against the spirit of the question.
- 44:09I know you know, he's he's asking if they have a piece of
- 44:12shit, shit. What can they do?
- 44:15They. Can do lots of stuff.
- 44:20So the other night Blay and I were over at a outpost in Pyro.
- 44:27They were doing repair missions and we flew into this one
- 44:32outpost and there was a starter ship down near a cargo pad.
- 44:37And I'm like, well, I'll go down, I'll see what's going on.
- 44:39And then lo and behold, is this guy doing his first ever cargo
- 44:42mission, couldn't figure out how to get the freight elevator to
- 44:46work. So I got down and I helped him
- 44:51and showed him like, oh, you got to raise the elevator first,
- 44:53right, To be able to put the boxes.
- 44:55So they snap on and that right there, like shows you like just
- 44:59hop in and go just to get out there, do a, do a, take a car, a
- 45:04starter cargo mission. You know, you can fit that cargo
- 45:07in an Aurora or a Mustang. It's only like 3 SCU.
- 45:11Get out there and explore. If you're in pyro, you're
- 45:14probably gonna get blown up. But I mean, that's all part of
- 45:17it. And I was telling the guy I was
- 45:19like, you know, you're in 'cause this was in pyro.
- 45:21It's like, you know, you're in a really dangerous spot.
- 45:23And he's like, oh really? He's like, yeah, it's very
- 45:26dangerous over here. Like this is you're lucky you
- 45:29didn't get shot and he was at like the number he was at
- 45:30Sacron's plot, which is like right now is a hotspot, but just
- 45:36get in there and look at the missions and just, and, and go
- 45:38for it. But I mean, the, the best way to
- 45:45introduce people, I like I was saying to the, the best way I
- 45:50see to introduce people to this is with friends, 'cause if you
- 45:55go out there and just do this alone without any idea of how to
- 45:58do some critical workarounds or like the stuff that we've just
- 46:02become so accustomed to that it's not even a bug to us
- 46:04anymore, but it actually is a bug.
- 46:09Find, find a group of people. That's the best way to introduce
- 46:14them, I feel. But I get it.
- 46:15In the spirit of the question, what can they do with the order
- 46:17of Mustang? Cargo missions, Starter combat
- 46:21missions, investigation missions, bunker missions.
- 46:26There's so many things that you can do on a small scale to get
- 46:30started. It's not as intimidating as it
- 46:33seems, even though it does seem extremely intimidating.
- 46:39I I think to add to your point and bring it to that spirit is
- 46:45you can have other people on your Aurora.
- 46:50I think we we can get like 4 in there.
- 46:52Yeah, your Mustang. You know, two behind you.
- 46:59Yeah, the Mustang is a very individual ship.
- 47:02I mean, it's very much a solo ship.
- 47:05And you won't have the same experience.
- 47:07You know, you'll be like looking for space combat constantly, and
- 47:10then you'll go, well, I'm not really finding the level of, you
- 47:13know, constant excitement that I need.
- 47:14So it's like, whatever. But in Aurora, you know, it's
- 47:18made to have other people on it. It's made to do other things,
- 47:22and I think that it's made to do the thing for the things that
- 47:24you're Speaking of is, is, is, you know, having community,
- 47:28having fun with other people because, you know, that's why
- 47:31you're in an open world, you know?
- 47:36But I think probably just adding on to what was already been
- 47:41said, but anybody with the one of those starter ships, the one
- 47:45thing I would say is if they've already, you know, bit the
- 47:48bullet and bought that starter and they have it and they're
- 47:52ready to go, hook them up with a decent org like Red Scar and
- 47:58have them make sure they're they're able to find the
- 48:02discord, get on because and just tell them just jump in, jump in
- 48:06the deep end, see what you can do.
- 48:08And when you finally get to that point where you can't move
- 48:11forward, jump on discord, get with some people will though.
- 48:15There'll be plenty of people that would love to help you out
- 48:18and show you the ropes. That's true.
- 48:21I would like to add for those that are intimidated by going
- 48:24into a voice chat with a bunch of strangers, don't have to talk
- 48:27like. Yeah, you don't have to talk,
- 48:29but it does help. It does.
- 48:31It makes things a lot easier, especially there's you're you're
- 48:35going to be spinning multiple plates, juggling balls, using
- 48:38all your. Penalties.
- 48:39Whoa. Not in this Discord.
- 48:44You get the point and being able to talk makes it a lot easier.
- 48:49And I mean, it used to be, I think, you know, maybe 10 years
- 48:53ago, 15 years ago, people had a really hard time talking and
- 48:57comms and stuff like that. But most gamers now, I think
- 49:01that most people that want to progress and be active in a
- 49:05community, they kind of, it's just kind of comes with the
- 49:08territory. You just got to, you know, queue
- 49:10up, hit that mic, enable, go talk and, you know, just take
- 49:14baby steps at first. You know you'll, you'll find
- 49:16your voice and you and and you'll fit into, into, into one
- 49:20of the niche groups in the in the orgs, one of the orgs,
- 49:23whatever org you decide to go with, I think you'll, you'll
- 49:26find your way quite easily. Yeah, I think that that the
- 49:31voice aspect of it, because, you know, I was born on the 360, so
- 49:35I was cutting my teeth out in old Halo and everyone was
- 49:38talking trash all the time and teabagging each.
- 49:41I still teabag to this day. If you get teabagged by a guy in
- 49:44purple armor in Star Citizen or on Halo, might be me.
- 49:48And also during Citizen Con. And also during citizen con if
- 49:52you're there. But that wasn't in game so.
- 49:56We don't have to talk. We don't have to talk.
- 49:58Well, that was cool. Warning about that.
- 50:01Don't want evidence? We don't even know you.
- 50:03Don't. Even follow me.
- 50:05I have I have pictures. Yeah, well, that's on you.
- 50:10You shouldn't have been taking pictures of that.
- 50:12That's that's gross. What was I saying?
- 50:16It's irrelevant now. You grew up on 360?
- 50:20But but now I think that's coming back though, like the
- 50:24chat and the game chat and stuff I see, I see that coming back.
- 50:27I see that in when I'm playing other games.
- 50:30I see people on the mics all the time, like competitive PvP
- 50:33stuff. That is fascinating.
- 50:35I think there's probably a good a good research paper from
- 50:39there, like the bones of something there.
- 50:41That would be interesting. But I think a lot of it goes
- 50:43back to the pandemic where we all had to be talking online,
- 50:47like we didn't necessarily have an alternative unless we want to
- 50:51talk to the walls. The walls.
- 50:55That's an excellent point actually.
- 50:58Yeah. And I'm, I'm just curious as to
- 50:59like what made that go away and I'm wondering if it was like a
- 51:02phenomenon 'cause. You know I.
- 51:05Was so young, online chatter and stuff.
- 51:08I don't know. I feel like for a few years
- 51:09there it was like. What do you mean like just
- 51:12talking online with strangers? Like in a chat room or voice
- 51:16comms? I'm I'm thinking specifically
- 51:18with video games. I think it's the technology.
- 51:23The technology has changed and the social environment has
- 51:25changed because the technology used to be your voice Commons
- 51:28were more or less. If you're with more than one
- 51:31person on the phone, that's an that's odd, but if you're with
- 51:34more than one person in a video game, you're in a match made
- 51:37server or something, that's different than the tech.
- 51:41That's where the tech was. Maybe got up to 8 people or so
- 51:44tops. But then things shifted with
- 51:48VoIP becoming more and more available and more platforms and
- 51:52look at us now, we're on Discord right now and that is the go to
- 51:56platform after things like Teamspeak and Ventrilo and all
- 52:02the others just kind of lost the VoIP race.
- 52:08I think. One, one thing we're we're
- 52:10quick, one thing that is holding back a lot more social
- 52:13interaction and voice comms is a lot of these multiplayer games,
- 52:19a lot of them went down this path that if you decided, oh, I
- 52:23don't want to play with other people, I want to solo
- 52:27everything. A lot of these these games made
- 52:30it possible where you could just solo most if not all the
- 52:34content. At some point you didn't need to
- 52:36interact with people anymore. And I think that hurt that whole
- 52:39social aspect of interacting on boys.
- 52:44Yeah, yeah, I'd, I'd probably agree with you there.
- 52:50I'm just thinking also Discord right now.
- 52:53And I just know that there are a lot of people who use Discord
- 52:55who aren't necessarily gaming on it.
- 52:58Like it's not gaming communities.
- 53:00And so the technology now has expanded so that like we're
- 53:06using it, we're all playing games on it.
- 53:07But like, I have other Discords here that have nothing to do
- 53:10with video games. Yep.
- 53:13And I think it's just expanded so much now and you can find C&D
- 53:18and they have political things on Discord now.
- 53:21It's just like a generalized communications app I feel.
- 53:25I have one personal clubs. Mass protests in Nepal recently
- 53:30where it was organized on Discord like hundreds of people.
- 53:36Yeah, I think we're going to see a lot more of that.
- 53:41It's just it's got good organization tools too.
- 53:43You ever, you ever do something at at work, if you got like a
- 53:47desk job or or whatever and everyone's using whatever
- 53:51management software they're using and you're like, man, this
- 53:53would flow way better on Discord.
- 53:56Yeah. Microsoft Teams.
- 53:58Oh my God, if. We could all just be on discord
- 54:01for this. This would make job the job way
- 54:03easier. So glad I've never had a job
- 54:06where Teams is the go to online. You haven't worked in an office.
- 54:11I have, but slack. We had a lot of slack.
- 54:17Teams isn't that bad. Teams isn't that bad.
- 54:20It works it it does what it needs to do for most.
- 54:22People, it's a resource hog. It doesn't matter.
- 54:26Most people, most people in offices, their computers are 99%
- 54:31idle anyway. Yeah, I, I worked in an office
- 54:35where we had four gigs on our computer for some dumb ass
- 54:38reason. And it was, it got to the point
- 54:40where, you know, I mean, obviously we're using, you know,
- 54:43we have to use, we use Chrome for a web client for SAP and or
- 54:48for CRM and like Teams would just make the computer just die
- 54:53all the time. I have to like actually.
- 54:55Not a teams problem. Yeah but there's no reason for
- 54:58it to suck up like over a gigs worth of ram for nothing.
- 55:02Because it's tracking all your mouse movements and everything.
- 55:05Literally your boomer boss who doesn't know how a computer
- 55:09works can feel like they can spy on you whenever they want to.
- 55:13In reality, they're just slowing everybody down.
- 55:18That's my experience anyway. And I am sorry to all the the
- 55:21boomers out there. You guys get a a hard rap.
- 55:25I'll admit it in in credit to boomers, these people were
- 55:30driving to and from an office five days a week.
- 55:32A lot of them. I used to do that.
- 55:36I know, that's why you're fucking insane.
- 55:39I used to work 80 hours a week at an office man.
- 55:42Jesus. I was a salaried employee that
- 55:45was getting basically paid for 40 hours a week and and the
- 55:49phone didn't stop when the when I left.
- 55:53I mean, I was an IT. So when shit hit the fan, you
- 55:56got to, you know. How?
- 55:58Long how? Long was your commute.
- 56:02Towards the end of my corporate America stint, it was like 1 1/2
- 56:06miles because I moved so close to the office because I
- 56:10literally got like one of these efficiency apartments but in the
- 56:14upscale community. And this was like 15 years ago.
- 56:18The rent for like a shoe box in Alpharetta, GA was like almost
- 56:23$900 which is outrageous if you saw the size of the apartment.
- 56:28I mean laugh. Laugh in LA laughing.
- 56:30At him. No, you don't understand at the
- 56:35time a a nice apartment like a three bedroom went for that in
- 56:40the Alpha in in Georgia. You have to understand.
- 56:43Georgia, you know, you, you, you, you can't, you can't look
- 56:48at those prices compared to LA. It just doesn't work.
- 56:52Whole of different scales here. I got an IT friend that moved
- 56:58from LA. They had a shithole 3 bedroom
- 57:00apartment in a shitty part of town that sold for over
- 57:04$1,000,000 and they came over here and they built like a 3500
- 57:08square foot mansion. Oh yeah, a nice community and
- 57:12they still had money leftover. Oh, yeah.
- 57:15But there's, there's, there's the trade off too.
- 57:17And there's a reason why it is so expensive out here.
- 57:19But like 900, it's still like people dream of that.
- 57:24And it's more of looking at the current, the current situation
- 57:27where across the country $900 is still very low.
- 57:31And that's 15 years ago. Not even.
- 57:34Oh yeah, no, no, no, no. I'm looking at the same.
- 57:35Apartment now is like 2500. Oh I bet and and it sucks
- 57:40because it's not just LA anymore like L as prices are pretty much
- 57:44everywhere everywhere now and it sucks one of my.
- 57:48Clients, they have a, they have a, they have a high rise in
- 57:51Birmingham, AL. The, the penthouses on that in
- 57:57that building start at over 5 grand for like a shit hole.
- 58:03So, And that's Birmingham, AL. East.
- 58:06Bumblefuck. Well, maybe all these big tech
- 58:11companies should take over giant landmasses, no?
- 58:15You know what we need in? Star Citizen.
- 58:16Housing we don't need alien Earth OK like.
- 58:20That's the other thing I think, sapping on sitcom.
- 58:22Housing. Do you?
- 58:24Think Alien. That maybe, I don't know, it's
- 58:27better like steering about the citizen.
- 58:30Like like building our own houses or.
- 58:33No no no no prefabs where you can store your your pet flat
- 58:39cat. Oh yeah, See what you're saying?
- 58:41Like, like at the at the at the green circle thing on Orson,
- 58:47That's your private thing. You're not going to spawn in
- 58:50there with Billy Bob at the same time, right?
- 58:53That's really awful going. To happen.
- 58:55Yeah. Well, you might be on to
- 58:56something Broccoli. Because maybe or maybe not,
- 59:00you've seen the Citizen Con Direct 2955 Digital Goodies
- 59:05Pack. I have.
- 59:08Have you seen anything in it that indicates that?
- 59:11Is there a house key inside of it?
- 59:13There is. Well it's not a house key but
- 59:16they are giving you decorations and supposedly something you can
- 59:22sit on I believe. Yeah, but they've been doing
- 59:25that for a while now if you're a subscriber.
- 59:27Or do you think it's been giving up furniture for months?
- 59:31Yeah. I mean all.
- 59:32All the more reason decorate your hanger.
- 59:34Like what am I going to do is sit in my giant hanger, put a
- 59:36house in there, you know, like put a little section in there.
- 59:39But like, no, it's just they give us a couch to put in the
- 59:43side of A and they've been doing that shit for months that it's
- 59:46dumb. Yeah, they're given 3 new decor.
- 59:51Yeah, 3 new decor for your house instead of second digital
- 59:54goodies pack. So I assume if they're giving
- 59:56you decor and the goodies packed, there's some kind of
- 59:59content there at the in the event video?
- 1:00:03I'm going to take the pessimistic view and say no,
- 1:00:06they just like giving us crappy furniture.
- 1:00:10Yeah, decorate your hanger. They did the last year.
- 1:00:13Blast blows it away. Yeah.
- 1:00:16But hey, you know, that's just, that's more stuff for when that
- 1:00:19does come online that we'll be able to.
- 1:00:22That's true. Yes.
- 1:00:23And I I would also love to see diversity of haves like everyone
- 1:00:30has the space for it. Let us buy a more expensive hat
- 1:00:35and pay rent on it. Oh yeah.
- 1:00:39Like I want to see, like I want to have a penthouse in Area 18.
- 1:00:43Through 9. 100. HOA fees?
- 1:00:46That sounds like something on the on the pledge store if it's
- 1:00:52in game. If it's in game that'd be
- 1:00:54awesome, but if it's on the pledge store I poo poo.
- 1:00:56That it'll it'll be in game. Let's get this whole this.
- 1:01:04We have a whole plan. They did lasted the thing.
- 1:01:06I mean, not lasted the thing gone, but well, yeah, the last
- 1:01:08citizen gone, they were talking about how like you make a claim
- 1:01:11on the land and all that stuff. I mean, just because it's based,
- 1:01:13it doesn't mean it's your house, doesn't mean it's not your
- 1:01:15house. I mean that that is your house.
- 1:01:16Oh no, I'm, I'm talking about not like, not like land claims.
- 1:01:20I'm just talking about like an instanced apartment with
- 1:01:24different floor layouts, like a three bedroom.
- 1:01:28Maybe one of those bedrooms can be an Armory.
- 1:01:31And. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:01:37And so that's an early version of instant saying.
- 1:01:41And I know like the last monthly report, they mentioned how it's
- 1:01:45just now coming online. So I would love to see it.
- 1:01:49I don't think it's going to happen though, unfortunately,
- 1:01:52but I've been saying it's going to been happening, going to be
- 1:01:54happening for a while. So I may as well just stick with
- 1:01:56it. The one thing I've always wanted
- 1:02:01for the hangers is, you know, when you land and you, you pull
- 1:02:06into your hanger and there's that one wall where the guys are
- 1:02:10like walking around like there's like MPCS, like I don't know if
- 1:02:14it's ATC or something. Like I always thought, you know,
- 1:02:17what would be cool is if we had access to that and that could be
- 1:02:20our half right off the hanger, but it's like enclosed, you
- 1:02:24know, I. Agree dude, I was saying.
- 1:02:26Those guys and those guys that are in there coordinating the
- 1:02:30hanger, those are like APC you could hire and they could be,
- 1:02:34you know, managing your shit for you.
- 1:02:37The old tangos let us access that area.
- 1:02:40Yeah, I would like to see that. My only, the only reason I think
- 1:02:45it's not going to happen is because they built out these
- 1:02:48entire cities for us to go into. Yeah, that's.
- 1:02:52True. So they have I they have reasons
- 1:02:55other than we want you to go to your have to go into these
- 1:03:01cities like I think like missions are going to you're
- 1:03:04going to have to go to a location to pick them up.
- 1:03:07Eventually you're going to be turning in families at certain.
- 1:03:10That was in the monthly report. It's like there's going to be
- 1:03:12locations you can start missions instead of just your mobi class.
- 1:03:16Yeah, yeah, like you're required to go to like a mission giver
- 1:03:20instead of yeah, instead of just pulling up your mobi.
- 1:03:24Yeah, but I do want like a taxi service from our hangar.
- 1:03:28It's like, all right, pay 50 UEC to to fly me directly to my hat.
- 1:03:33Sure. Yeah, land on the roof and then
- 1:03:37take the elevator down. Or I could take public transit
- 1:03:40if I want to be stingy. OK, I'm I'm conflicted on the
- 1:03:48mission giver idea. I I don't like that everyone's
- 1:03:50going to the same guy. I just the whole Doctor Yorit
- 1:03:54thing. It's like how many facilities?
- 1:03:56Maybe, maybe, maybe they can make it to where it's not it's
- 1:04:00it's procedurally generated and it's not a they may be similar
- 1:04:05missions almost maybe it's identical missions, but you have
- 1:04:08to talk to somebody else. But then.
- 1:04:10Who? Broccoli has to talk to, for
- 1:04:12example. Yeah, I mean that.
- 1:04:15That that would be awesome. I.
- 1:04:16Think, yeah, they're going to be like, oh, it's jar, jar.
- 1:04:18He should talk to someone else. Yeah, I don't want to talk to
- 1:04:22the same guy. Yeah.
- 1:04:25Or even I, I thought, I always thought it was a cool idea where
- 1:04:27it's like you get a mission or like something pops up and
- 1:04:32you're like, hey, go to this bench in the area AT Plaza or go
- 1:04:38to G Lac and sit at a booth and someone will be in touch.
- 1:04:41And then they spawn an NPC from one of the spawn closets.
- 1:04:45And then just some random guy comes up and he's like, hey, I
- 1:04:48work for twitch. Here's the details.
- 1:04:51All right, see you later. That's the way to do it, man.
- 1:04:54Yeah. So something like that.
- 1:04:56Then when you get higher up you go and you go to like the
- 1:05:00headquarters that twitches it and you take an elevator and it
- 1:05:03instances you into that meeting. I I think bonus points if Twitch
- 1:05:11actually does a corporate partnership where you can make
- 1:05:13this happen. Twitch on Twitch.
- 1:05:17Oh, Twitch on Twitch? I got you.
- 1:05:20That was slow. Insert the worm shot there too.
- 1:05:24Well, Speaking of corporations, it's Pirate Week.
- 1:05:30Yeah, that's good. That's good.
- 1:05:32That's a good segue. Shiver me livery pirate paints.
- 1:05:36We got pirate paints coming in if you like those.
- 1:05:38I've got skulls on them. I'm into this.
- 1:05:40It's pretty cool if you like skulls.
- 1:05:42Anyone here like skulls? I've got mine.
- 1:05:46Yeah, carrying one around with me every day, yeah.
- 1:05:48It's with me all the time. So this year, every year, I
- 1:05:53guess it'll last three, maybe four years.
- 1:05:55Now they have these cool, I love these, these pirate clues.
- 1:06:00So you have like a treasure map. And this year I think it's just
- 1:06:04two clues. Last year they are they blue?
- 1:06:09No clue. But then you you go to the
- 1:06:13places and you basically find a code and you type the code in
- 1:06:16the website. And this year you will be
- 1:06:18getting fancy yourself. A Wayfair worthy of loot.
- 1:06:26Best keep that code safe from mutineers and enter it here.
- 1:06:32Oh, OK, I thought I told you what it gave you.
- 1:06:34Well, I'm going to read you guys the clues and we're going to
- 1:06:37maybe see if we can kind of figure this one out.
- 1:06:41So there are there are two, but I'm saying right now there are 4
- 1:06:44total. OK, so they're going to release
- 1:06:47the other two? Oh yeah, 4 clues are already
- 1:06:49waiting. Yes, they're already.
- 1:06:54Are they going to release those next week?
- 1:06:57No, they're already out. Oh really?
- 1:07:00Where do you have the other ones?
- 1:07:03Don't worry about it. OK, spoilers.
- 1:07:07So the first two publicly released clues are hoist
- 1:07:12yourself up the Spire region for the Clouds oyer Cutter's Rig
- 1:07:17where X be planted on the Lone Peak.
- 1:07:21Let O Odel guide ye to the 6th be seek Cutter's Rig.
- 1:07:31Cutter drag. I have farmed some armor there
- 1:07:33before. Where is this?
- 1:07:36What planet? What?
- 1:07:39Moon, that is Hurston. It's on.
- 1:07:42Hurston, yeah, Or one of the moons.
- 1:07:45No Hurston. Yeah, yeah, it's Hurston.
- 1:07:48Hurston OK, yeah. All right, so there's an X
- 1:07:50planted on a Lone Peak guidee to the 6th E seek.
- 1:07:57On a Spire there, so it's on one of the towers of Cutter's rig.
- 1:08:04I got stuck on one of those towers once going down.
- 1:08:10The second clue is where memories fade in, whispers hiss.
- 1:08:16Never mind the treasure. Be not in the stacks, but on the
- 1:08:20flank. And where the senior or senor
- 1:08:25could be senor, And where the senior keeps the cipher, the
- 1:08:29secret be yours to claim, And where the senior keeps the
- 1:08:35cipher, the secret be yours to claim.
- 1:08:39Where memories fade and whispers hiss, Never mind the treasure.
- 1:08:44Be not in the stacks, but on the flank.
- 1:08:49That is extremely cryptic and I don't that.
- 1:08:52Is I don't got anything for that one.
- 1:08:55I think they're going to have to update that shit soon because
- 1:08:57that is completely. Very vague.
- 1:09:04Well if you just want the answer to the clues, I'm sure you can
- 1:09:06find it on Reddit. If not, just ask around.
- 1:09:10Someone will tell it to you if you ask.
- 1:09:11Oh. Yeah, the racism app.
- 1:09:14So I was walking around. Yes, broccoli Rob, please.
- 1:09:20It's there's a forward operating base called Never mind.
- 1:09:26And never mind is with a capital N where memories fade and
- 1:09:32whispers hiss. Never mind.
- 1:09:35OK, it's right there. So they always put the location
- 1:09:38in there and it's you can tell it's location because it's
- 1:09:41capitalized. Oh, OK.
- 1:09:44Proper nouns. Well, back, yeah.
- 1:09:46I was going to say, back in the day, they would capitalize every
- 1:09:51proper noun that's reading The Terror right now.
- 1:09:55And they do that in the personal journal entries.
- 1:10:00Well, you're supposed to capitalize proper.
- 1:10:04Noun. Or is it?
- 1:10:04No, no, they capitalize every noun, and I think I know why.
- 1:10:07Oh yeah, because it's Germanic influence.
- 1:10:10Yeah, because in Germany you capitalize nouns like all.
- 1:10:14Nouns. German high school.
- 1:10:16So if they have German staff, even if they speak English right
- 1:10:20and they're going to start, they're just, it's just going to
- 1:10:24look normal to them. Yes, this is true.
- 1:10:27My mother was from Germany. Sorry, my father was from
- 1:10:32Germany. You're wotter.
- 1:10:43All right. Well, Jens Flores, do you, do
- 1:10:44you have any spoilers for us for the upcoming Citizen Khan Direct
- 1:10:48coming almost exactly a month from today?
- 1:10:52Month after tomorrow. If I do that, I unfortunately
- 1:10:58would be contractually euthanized.
- 1:11:02Harsh, but fair. Wow, I I kind of feel guilty
- 1:11:07giving them my money now. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 1:11:11no, no, no. Give, give, give, give money.
- 1:11:12Please please please please please.
- 1:11:15I don't know. I like to vote with my wallet.
- 1:11:17You know what I'm talking about. Wait, wait, wait, wait.
- 1:11:20They're over there euthanizing their employees.
- 1:11:23No, please give money. You know, don't don't mistake me
- 1:11:29for some pinko commie, but I just don't feel good about this
- 1:11:34one. No, you don't understand.
- 1:11:39All right, so if you thought all the bugs were over right now
- 1:11:42playing on the on the twitch on the stream there, it may not be
- 1:11:46lined up in the recording. I got stuck here, this door
- 1:11:49wouldn't open and I ended up getting stuck in the ship.
- 1:11:54CIG fixed that shit. Hey, you're supposed to be dead,
- 1:12:02Get. Out of here, tired of getting
- 1:12:03stuck in walls and shit. I know it's probably really
- 1:12:06hard, but you know, cutting out. We have to work on the flight
- 1:12:10model first. That's right.
- 1:12:13OK, So Citizen Khan, let's wrap it up here.
- 1:12:16We're obviously going to hear something about the flight
- 1:12:18model. Always.
- 1:12:21What's the wind stuff? It's just like.
- 1:12:25Physicalized air flying through wind.
- 1:12:27Physicalized air and grain droplets.
- 1:12:31So we're going to hear about that.
- 1:12:33What do you guys think? Are we going to hear about
- 1:12:36engineering? Oh, are they going to let it go?
- 1:12:43Yes, Murphy says yes. Maybe in passing, like I don't I
- 1:12:48don't know if it'll get a full like dedicated segment, but it'd
- 1:12:51be like, oh, Dev junior, go back to turn the Shields up.
- 1:12:58It's like we need more power to shield.
- 1:12:59It's like, aye, captain, that's how we're probably good of that.
- 1:13:03I've. Given her all she's got,
- 1:13:05Captain. All right then, Paramount's
- 1:13:09lawyers, you'll be knocking. Yeah.
- 1:13:12Hello, Sir. So Lord Anubis, you were on the
- 1:13:15show last week and at the end of that show you and I made the
- 1:13:20thumbnail for last week's episode.
- 1:13:22Yes. Now we said, man, this
- 1:13:25thumbnail, this is going to get so many clicks.
- 1:13:29We did all the click pity stuff and it is our worst performing
- 1:13:34episode of Sense like. Just hate Nicholas Cage, it's
- 1:13:40so. I, I am, I will now prepare my
- 1:13:43sword. I am very sorry about this and I
- 1:13:46will no longer be a bother to you.
- 1:13:48Can there's some on the Spotify where people don't really get
- 1:13:51the thumbnail? Like it's like our second most
- 1:13:55listened to on the Spotify. That makes me feel worse, thank
- 1:13:58you. So I'm pretty sure not to make
- 1:14:03you feel bad, but this week, Lord neighbors, if you want, if
- 1:14:05you want to, if you want to give it a second go, I'm willing
- 1:14:10because, you know, I don't care about anything anymore.
- 1:14:15Wow, Yeah, yeah. Thanks.
- 1:14:17If you want to give it, if you want to give it a second go,
- 1:14:19maybe a little redemption, maybe just solidify, you know.
- 1:14:25The scientific method of thumbnails to to prove your
- 1:14:28conclusions so I can internalize it and take it as a part of my
- 1:14:33psyche. There you go.
- 1:14:36So we're we're kind of to the end here, but we did do
- 1:14:39something pretty, pretty cool this week before Citizen Khan,
- 1:14:44before the next patch, which is going to have medical gameplay.
- 1:14:50Yeah, I think next, maybe next week we'll talk a little bit
- 1:14:52more about medical gameplay. But I did want to touch in it a
- 1:14:55bit. This week they released all the
- 1:14:57the medical beds. They're releasing the what is it
- 1:15:01called the medical, the RSI. Apollo.
- 1:15:05The Apollo. They're releasing the Apollo.
- 1:15:07They give us a little briefing on how medical beds work.
- 1:15:11OK, hobo you. You know how they're working,
- 1:15:15right? Yes.
- 1:15:17Can you give us a little brief overview?
- 1:15:19How do the tier one through 3 medical beds work as of today?
- 1:15:24As of right now before the patch, you just spawn on them
- 1:15:29and that's about all. Like currently there is very
- 1:15:33little differentiation between them.
- 1:15:35The higher the tier medical board, I guess the lower
- 1:15:39technically because it uses the American system which is 3 is
- 1:15:42the lowest, 2 is the middle, and one is the highest.
- 1:15:46That is going to have a lot more new nuance and features coming
- 1:15:53with the next patch. So now you just spawn for free
- 1:15:58and it doesn't matter and you can just spawn forever and it's
- 1:16:00honestly kind of obnoxious at times.
- 1:16:02You can just spawn forever but in the next patch you will have
- 1:16:06a consumable Med gel. You put your Med gel into Med
- 1:16:10beds and you need that to do anything with Med bed.
- 1:16:15Fun heal. Oh OK.
- 1:16:17No you can still receive IV fluids and food without any Med
- 1:16:23gel that is not consumed. But everything else from healing
- 1:16:27to reviving, well that's it. You you you need Med gel for and
- 1:16:33I recently updated it from pretty much just a flat amount
- 1:16:37for each Med bed and there's a certain amount so I can go
- 1:16:41through what they are now. There's no point talking about
- 1:16:43what happened before but pretty much the short of it is tier 3
- 1:16:48Med beds are your smallest Med beds.
- 1:16:50You will get 2 revised out of them with a full Med bell Med
- 1:16:55gel complement in your Med bed. For Tier 2 you get you will have
- 1:17:014 revives available with a full complement of Med gel and then
- 1:17:07for Tier 1 you will have 6 revives available with a full
- 1:17:11complement of Med gel. Now you ask what else can you
- 1:17:14use Med gel for healing? You know those injuries you
- 1:17:18sometimes get? Well backspacing will cost
- 1:17:21resources now, so maybe just go get those healed for cheaper
- 1:17:24instead because it uses less resources to heal.
- 1:17:28When you say bad spacing will cause resources, what resources
- 1:17:32in particular? Med Gel.
- 1:17:34Just Med gel, you're not going to like lose any money or
- 1:17:36anything. Not yet but Med gel costs money
- 1:17:41outside of we. We still have socialized
- 1:17:44healthcare in the verse. So responding is still free at
- 1:17:48stations. But if you want to respond at
- 1:17:50your private vessel or vehicle like a medic pen or medical
- 1:17:56ursa, that requires Med gel to fill out the Med bed.
- 1:18:01And as of right now, each canister of Med gel and that's I
- 1:18:08think 1 revive per canister of Med gel has was essentially how
- 1:18:12it was before, though it's a little different now because it
- 1:18:16used to be. So canisters have now 200 Med
- 1:18:20gel. So that is 2 revives per
- 1:18:22canister at each canister cost 100,000 UEC.
- 1:18:29So we're getting a healthcare system, baby America.
- 1:18:35Yeah, that sounds about right. So last time we spoke, Lord
- 1:18:40Anubis, I remember you in particular voiced this, that how
- 1:18:45ridiculous is it that these Tier 3 and Tier 2 Med beds can't heal
- 1:18:51severe injuries, but they can reprint you, they can revive
- 1:18:54you. I thought about that and you
- 1:18:59inspired me. And so this week we had a
- 1:19:03question, Should all Med beds allow revive?
- 1:19:08And we had 31 votes on this, which is pretty good.
- 1:19:11I think everyone in here voted. So thank you all for voting.
- 1:19:16So should all Med beds allow revive?
- 1:19:19The choices were yes. The revive system as presented
- 1:19:22is perfect. Two, only tier one and two Med
- 1:19:27beds should allow revive, 3 only tier one Med beds should allow
- 1:19:30revive, and four citizens should only be allowed to revive in
- 1:19:35medical centers. The number one, the highest
- 1:19:40voted with 39% was yes. The revive system as presented
- 1:19:44is perfect. Now the other three all have
- 1:19:50it's close enough that it's split.
- 1:19:53But the second highest one was 29% only tier one Med beds
- 1:19:57should allow revive. So I'm going to bring this all
- 1:20:01to y'all. Maybe Anubis?
- 1:20:04Maybe you want to start with this one since you inspired me
- 1:20:06for this. What do you think about this
- 1:20:09pole and what do you think about the revive as it is?
- 1:20:13I think everybody's wrong, as they often are.
- 1:20:18No, I mean, you know, reviving. OK, so are we talking reviving?
- 1:20:24Are we talking respawning? You know, because there's a
- 1:20:28difference between there. There is.
- 1:20:30Remotely, you know, reviving, I think all bets should be able
- 1:20:34to, you know, give you a little jump start to the heart.
- 1:20:38You know, if you, if you were to take someone and you know, put
- 1:20:41them on there, it should be able to reanimate them.
- 1:20:43I, I think even tier 3 should be able to do that.
- 1:20:46It may not be able to treat the major injuries, but it can get
- 1:20:48you alive again. Respawning, printing, I think
- 1:20:52level 2, Tier 2 and up my I, I don't think that a Pisces should
- 1:20:58be able to respond from that. I I don't know why.
- 1:21:00It just doesn't seem. It doesn't seem plausible to me.
- 1:21:10As a as a pollster, your take care and revive respond.
- 1:21:14I'm ashamed. I'm ashamed That's that's a good
- 1:21:18point. I would also take umbrage with
- 1:21:20the word perfect, but that's. I know, I know I did.
- 1:21:23I just, you know, I'm going to be honest guys, I just, I
- 1:21:25blatted it out there, you know, I made sure it was spelled
- 1:21:28correctly. But it's a start.
- 1:21:31It's a start. We're getting there.
- 1:21:32I I'm actually thought about this now.
- 1:21:36Someone who's not upset Wicket. What do you think about this
- 1:21:38pole? I don't even know those this was
- 1:21:42a thing. Is this a thing now or is it?
- 1:21:47I didn't either. Just go.
- 1:21:48With it, yeah, this is a thing. Well there's talk in the
- 1:21:51community like not all Med beds should maybe allow you to
- 1:21:55respond, which I feel I voted that only tier one beds because
- 1:21:59I figure if if only tier one beds can heal, you know, severe
- 1:22:03injuries, then only tier one beds should allow you to be
- 1:22:07fucking printed again like Mickey 17 you know?
- 1:22:10I think. I think this is all mute until
- 1:22:13we really know what death of a spaceman means.
- 1:22:19Very well, very well, Broccoli. What do you think about this?
- 1:22:22Yeah. So I think that it should either
- 1:22:26be all Med beds or it should be no bed beds.
- 1:22:30I think having it be only tier ones or like Tier 1 and tier
- 1:22:36twos. I think though that's just care
- 1:22:38owners that want their Med bed to be relevant.
- 1:22:42It needs to be all Med beds or none.
- 1:22:46And I think that what CIG is signalling is that you're going
- 1:22:52to be respawning a lot based off of this latest medical like
- 1:22:59article they put out. They're they're building a lot
- 1:23:03of stuff to be like, oh, you, you are incapacitated and
- 1:23:07there's no help. All right, here's a bunch of
- 1:23:10options. Here's something that's very
- 1:23:13easy to look at because we're expecting that you're going to
- 1:23:15be looking at it not or kind of often often may be the wrong
- 1:23:23word, but I think more than a lot of people initially thought,
- 1:23:27like instead of 10 lives before your your quote perma death, I
- 1:23:32think it's going to be 100 or 200.
- 1:23:36Like I think this character that you have before you perma death
- 1:23:40is going to be with you for a very long time.
- 1:23:44It definitely feels like they've taken that.
- 1:23:48They're putting a lot more effort into the responding then
- 1:23:52they would have implied years ago, because years ago they're
- 1:23:55like, Oh yeah, you're just, you're eventually going to
- 1:23:57permit that. You know you after like $10 you,
- 1:24:00you'll die. Yeah, and that freak people the
- 1:24:04fuck out because they thought permit death meant like, I don't
- 1:24:07know, they get their pledge deleted or something.
- 1:24:10Yeah, that was never going to happen, but.
- 1:24:13It's just a tax. Is this a tax?
- 1:24:17Well, I get the resources thing with the beds, but I don't I
- 1:24:20don't get the tiered injury thing.
- 1:24:23Like if it can print a whole new body, why can't it?
- 1:24:26I'm cuz I'm yeah, I'm just always focused on the lore of
- 1:24:28the narrative. And when things don't, I know
- 1:24:30it's a video game, but when things don't make sense like
- 1:24:32that, I'm like, couldn't you have just like, written it
- 1:24:34differently? OK, how's this out here?
- 1:24:38Here's a bit of a compromise. OK, if you regen or if you
- 1:24:45respawn in a tier 3 bed, all of your tier 3 injuries go away.
- 1:24:52Your Tier 2 gets brought down to a tier 3, your tier ones get
- 1:24:56brought down to a Tier 2. So it kind of like kind of
- 1:24:58repairs you at great cost. But I can still respond there.
- 1:25:05Like if my arm's broken and it can print a new arm anyway, Like
- 1:25:10why not just chop that arm off and reprint a new one on me?
- 1:25:14Because the trauma echo of like like getting into like
- 1:25:18regeneration, like your body remember or your imprint
- 1:25:22remembers that you had. So yeah, but.
- 1:25:25So what the the Tier 1 bed can do that?
- 1:25:29It's not that that can't happen. It's not that they have this
- 1:25:31like the Tier 1 bed can reprint you and fix all your injuries
- 1:25:36and the tier 3 bread can reprint you but it can't fix all your
- 1:25:39injuries and it takes. More resources because it's a
- 1:25:42because it's a lower quality bed, so your imprint gets there
- 1:25:46and this lower quality bed tries to reprint you, but maybe
- 1:25:49reprints you with that broken arm still.
- 1:25:52Oh I see what you're saying. So if I revive at my OK, so if
- 1:25:56I'm brought back to life on my low tier 3 bed, I might be
- 1:26:02brought back with some of those injuries still?
- 1:26:05If we remember some of the lore or that's already been announced
- 1:26:09or that's out there about regen, it's we.
- 1:26:13We stole this tech, Humanity stole this tech.
- 1:26:15So we're kind of monkeys playing with with God tier tech.
- 1:26:20So I can see how we might not. There's budgets involved and
- 1:26:26corporations involved and we've seen what megatech megacorps do.
- 1:26:30So maybe they, you know, cut some corners on these lower tier
- 1:26:33beds. OK, all right, all right.
- 1:26:38You're, you're, you're, you're slowly bringing me to the to the
- 1:26:41light there or to the. Dark.
- 1:26:42I'm not saying that's what they're doing, I'm just saying I
- 1:26:44think that's what they should. Do what they should do.
- 1:26:47That's a good idea guys, just saying.
- 1:26:49United Healthcare still exists 1000 years in the future, so,
- 1:26:53you know, draw whatever conclusions you need.
- 1:26:57UEE Health. Evil corporations pour in, the
- 1:27:00evil corporations vile then pour in playing with tech we don't
- 1:27:06truly understand. Which is actually one of the
- 1:27:09cool things of the current ASD phonics facilities and the
- 1:27:13region crisis. Because we're kind of coming to
- 1:27:15the conclusion that, oh, maybe we didn't work out all the kinks
- 1:27:20of this tech before we started implementing it in a wide scale.
- 1:27:24And if you do look at the timeline, this has only been
- 1:27:27implemented for the past less than a decade.
- 1:27:31Yeah. Is this some kind of Freudian
- 1:27:33psychological thing by CIG? Like maybe this wasn't ready
- 1:27:37before we sent it out? I do, Maybe are they reflecting
- 1:27:42a little bit? They they do kind of hint at
- 1:27:46things in there. If you look at the loading
- 1:27:48screen one, it's like. Yeah, Good, good, good.
- 1:27:51Good for them. Murphy, do you have anything you
- 1:27:54want to add, anything you want to say about these medical beds
- 1:27:56or the revives? I hope it's, you know, it's a
- 1:28:01good change. I I wish they kept with the 100K
- 1:28:07per Regent. I think, you know, make it a
- 1:28:12little more harsh, like we're getting a little a little too
- 1:28:16comfortable. Just, you know, careless
- 1:28:19respawning. Make the medical roll count like
- 1:28:24big time, right. I know we talked about it in our
- 1:28:28combat. I think it does need to be a
- 1:28:31little more punishing down the road.
- 1:28:33I get it the bugs, but I think it's a step in the right
- 1:28:37direction. All right, very good.
- 1:28:41We're just. Begging for money sakes.
- 1:28:44Begging. Begging for money sakes.
- 1:28:48Please give me, let me spend, let me sync that shit.
- 1:28:53Well Murph Co host this week. What do you think?
- 1:29:00Yeah, I think I should care about Citizen Khan.
- 1:29:04Yes, you should. Yes, you should.
- 1:29:08Well, this is open Comms Radio. If you've made it this far, give
- 1:29:12us a little, like maybe a little subby sub.
- 1:29:15You can listen to us on the on the Spotify.
- 1:29:19We're on the YouTube. We're gonna move to Rumble.
- 1:29:22Very soon. And we're gonna, we're gonna
