Latest / Voice Notes After Dark / The Audacity of Piper Sifton
Transcript
- PIPERFINAL: No no. All right. Well we're gonna go ahead and get started. This is Voice Notes After Dark and we have the amazing Piper Sifton here. She is an awesome script writer. she just murdered us on Friday with her latest her latest script, which we're gonna we're gonna we're gonna talk about. We're gonna get into the bratless of it all, Piper. We already had enough to yell at you about. Yeah. With the previous one. But you know. When I when I put out the call for questions, like 90% of them were just like, How dare you? And how dare you? And how dare you. The audacity. The audacity of Piper. But Piper, you have written sh over 20 scripts, it sounds like. you have over 250,000 listens on Quinn, which is insane. So how long have you been writing? Yeah, writing in general I've done my whole life. just more as like a personal outlet kind of thing than anything in particular. Erotic audio scripts I've been writing for two years. And then I'm also working on a book right now. That's exciting. Yeah. So about two years, I guess. That's awesome. I mean, that's a lot in two years. You are really you've really done a lot. So that's That's something to be very proud of. How did you kind of get into this whole world of Audio Erotica? Where did how did you were you a listener first? Like how'd you get into it? Yeah, I was a listener first. I kind of stumbled upon Quinn from TikTok. So I discovered Quinn in December 2023. And I was on maternity leave with my youngest daughter. and I had been like really into audiobooks. I just found like they were a nice way to feel like I wasn't isolated. And especially during that time. It was still kind of COVID and it was tough to get together with people. pregnant at that point in time, especially with a nightmare. Absolutely was. Yes. So yeah, so I found that and then Found Quinn, loved Quinn, immediately. And then I noticed that some of the scripts had authors attached to them. So I went and found some of those authors on Instagram and just talked to them about it. And like Miranda and she doesn't do it as frequently anymore, but Wild Rose Rambles has a few scripts on Quinn as well, and she's a fantastic writer. So those two especially really kind of helped me get started. and yeah, so then I started writing scripts and I put a few on Reddit. and then eventually got some picked up for Quinn and the rest is history. Yeah, that's amazing. Miranda's so she's a legend. Like she's done so much in for I think I think everyone we've talked to has like, Yeah, talk to Miranda. You know, it's just like she's just such a so good and so helpful too. She's amazing, yeah. Yeah, she's amazing. so since you've been doing this for a while now, do you have you do you think you've kind of found your niche or are you still kind of learning what you love to write? Or are you learning new things? I feel like it's a combination of all of it. I feel like I do know what I do very well. and I also really enjoy trying new things. So I I like to do both. and luckily I have the option to do that. So yeah, I've done a lot of things that I'm really comfortable with, and then I've done quite a few things. this year that are new to me and that I had to really sit with or do a lot of research to do them. Yeah. Yeah. You you have done some pretty amazing scripts lately. Like I I mean like Friday excluded, even before that, like just you have been blowing everybody away. Everyone has just been so enamored with what you're writing, what you're coming out with. And I'm just curious if there's it do you feel like there's something that's kind of clicked with you or do you feel like it's just people are finally starting to see where you're doing what you're doing, or what do you think is is attributed to that a little bit? I think it's probably a mixture of things. part of it is obviously I think the more that you practice something, the more you do it, especially if you're somebody who is looking to improve. I d I love learning, which is a super nerdy thing to say, but I really do. Nope. You're in the like nerdy space. Yes. Exactly. Exactly. Yeah. So I do like pick up things to improve my writing and You know, make sure that I Try different things and make sure that I listen to feedback and all that kind of thing. so I think that's part of it. But I also think that especially in this kind of a space, it takes a while to build up trust in yourself and and reputation. And so, you know, I think I I put a little thing out a couple of days ago because it was exactly two years since I posted my first script. And I just said, you know, I I posted that about Yeah. Yeah. but I just said, you know, I posted that script when I had thirty followers on in like less than thirty followers on Instagram. So it's like it it has taken a long time. But I think that's just part of it, especially, you know, with AI and everything, you just have to you have to prove yourself. And I think that's fair. but I think I have done that at this point. So yeah, I'm happy about it. Definitely have. You definitely have. And you definitely have a style, Piper. Like I think that people definitely know or have an idea when they're like, yeah, I know who did this or I know who wrote this. And you have such a unique style to your writing. And it's just ugh, it's so good. It's so damn good. Thank you. Yeah. So I know lately you have written you know, certain things for certain VAs. But typically do you write things with certain VAs in mind or do you just kind of is it just kind of what inspires you? Momotail. It's both. I'm gonna it's just it's always gonna be both for my answers apparently. that's okay. So for the most part now that I kind of have like established working relationships, I kind of write for a certain voice. so I I'll pitch something and then they'll say yes or they'll say no or they'll say, Let's work work with that idea. but I do still sometimes just write because I wanna write something. and yeah, so those ones sometimes I haven't posted anything on Reddit in quite a while. But I did do that back in October and it was just like a a guided grocery shopping script that and it's really dirty. that both Boons and Dolph filled on on Reddit. my god. Okay, I'm gonna have to find that to go find that. Yeah, no, grocery shop that's really dirty. Yeah. Yeah. They both did such a good job of it. But it's just like That one I did and I wrote it like A for A. So it's anybody can write it or a fill it for anybody. but yeah, so like sometimes I do get like random ideas and I'm like, well, I'm just gonna write this because I wanna write it. and not necessarily like get a voice attached to it before I do that, but for the most part I'm writing for somebody. Yeah. Yeah. Like Yeah. Could you like say me and such and such were thinking of doing a collab and we'd really like you to write it. Here's the idea that we've got I do. I I don't officially have like I used to have a commissions thing up. I don't officially do commissions, but there are like if I've worked with somebody before and they would like me to write something, or if I've talked to them about writing something. And they ask me to do something, I for sure will. So I have had a few of those. but most of the time it's me pitching something. and I kind of prefer it that way because it's just for me, it's easier when it's like my idea. Yeah. At the beginning to start with. That is absolutely not why what I want out of mind, but okay. Yeah, yeah. Do you ever do you still get nervous when you pitch things to certain people? yes. All the time. I kind of got all the time. Every time I do it. Yeah. Yeah. I have these relations like working relationships with people and I'm like, I know that you enjoy my work, but like, what if this one makes you hate me? Right. So it's so real. That's so real, Piper. Yeah. But so what I do is I just like if I'm gonna pitch something, I put it in, I send it, and then I forget about it and I just go do something else and when they respond to me, they will respond to me. because otherwise I will just sit there and like, my god, they saw it and they didn't say anything, so they must hate it. It's the worst. But really they just were like scrolling through and saw it and then they had to do something else and exactly. Exactly. Yeah. So I yeah. No, I had a I did a post not too long ago where it was like, you know, like your top five horror stories or whatever. And my one of mine was, you know, the scene on an Instagram DM. Like just seeing that scene and then like no response just makes you want to like throw up instantly. Yeah. Especially when you're pitching, you know, hey, come on my show to someone you've never talked to before. It's like the worst. Yeah, no, I get it. I totally get it. Yeah, and it doesn't matter how many times you do it, it still just makes you sick. Yeah. It's even worse when it's a scene 35 minutes ago, active now. Yeah. Like okay. Okay. You hate me, fine. Yeah, I get it. It's came. Fine. It's fine. No, I know. It's so and we all do it though. That's the thing. It's like I've I've looked at people's messages and then be like, I'll answer that later. And you know, it just it is what it is. But yeah. It's when it's me and you're doing it, I'm like, no, no, you hate me. Surely you hate me. I get it. It's fine. Mm-hmm. So so since you started doing this, I know there's a lot of things that are challenging about you know, writing these scripts, a lot of things that you have to think about when you're writing 'cause obviously you want to be inclusive, you wanna be you wanna have a good, you know, the right tone for everything. What is something that is really challenging for you, you know, just kind of as a writer in this space? it's a good question. I think I guess just kind of navigating the online space. I think sometimes it's easy to forget that, you know, this is a small part of someone's life and you know, I am a mom, I have two kids, I am currently navigating a career change. I have a family member who's dealing with a terminal illness and I know that like none of those things are just me. I think it's easy to see one part and just kind of think that you know everything about someone. true. So yeah, I think just that. But in terms of the writing part, I am I I'm very Careful. I guess I'm mindful. I really want to make sure that I'm inclusive. I do work really hard on that. there's actually a transcript for one of my scripts with useless timidity that has the wrong word in there and it says pink something instead of peaked. It's supposed to say peaked, but it says pink in the transcript. And so somebody commented on that. Like, my God, like I would never write that. so I don't usually comment on my audios, but I did put one in there and just say, like, this is wrong in the transcript. It should be this. I work very hard not to do that kind of thing. so yeah, I think you'd rather have the script up there than than the transcript, like yeah, because that comes from AI basically, right? Yeah, I it's some kind of combination. That's a good question. I don't know. It's it's kind of messy because I work with the VA, I don't work with Quentin. So it's not like they have a copy of my script. so I don't really know what I would prefer for that. It's yeah, it's a kind of tricky situation with that. Yeah. but yeah, I don't know. I just think there I know there have been other cases where Transcripts are just like not that's not transcription They're never a hundred percent correct. I mean you should see some of the stuff that pops up on our transcripts from this. It's just like that's so not what I said. Like how transcripts for the voice notes can't even translate me half the time. Yeah, like he's saying all kinds of crazy stuff. Yeah, exactly. So usually just squeals and squeaks. Noises. Loud noises. Yeah. Yeah, that's that's unfortunate because yeah, it can't really can make a big difference. You know, something as something that small can really make a big difference to a lot of people. So I understand that yeah, you definitely want that to be correct. and I think that's something that you know Quinn probably doesn't really think about. because they don't really have to answer to that for the most part. So I can see why. It would be something they wouldn't really think about. But yeah, social media is smaller than you think. it is. Do you ever get stuck in like a comfort zone? Like for like as an artist you can kind of draw the same pose over and over again just because you want to draw and then you realize, I've done this a lot of times. Like, do you ever get that with with the way you write? like thinking, I've say, done I don't know, this particular MDOM type a lot and I don't wanna do anything else right now but I should. honestly, not really. Like I I I gravitate more like Sub is very easy for me to write. It's just like very natural. Dom. Thank you. Dom used to be a little bit more difficult for me, but now I find it pretty close to Sub, just 'cause I've written it so often. Yeah. And then I also have done F Dom and I do a lot of established relationship audios and like slice of life. and I think that's probably the like slice of life is probably the one that I do the most. but I feel like because it is slice of life and life is like that's a huge topic, that I'm not really doing the same thing over and over again. so I don't know. Yeah, I feel like I've got a pretty good variety. and I don't there's certain things that I don't really like there's certain tropes and things that I want to explore and research, but then there's others where I feel like people who have that experience and can do it better than I can. I don't necessarily need to do everything. so yeah, I don't know. I'm I'm I'm happy with the variety in my work. Is there like is it is it better to do is it which do you prefer? Do you prefer it from like Bear with me. My brain is currently running on Windows 95. And it's not updated. Do you prefer writing from like say if you were doing an FDOM subscript, like would you prefer doing it from the F Dom's perspective or the sub? Like which do you find easier to write? Good question. I think probably the sub is easier to write. could I tell you why? Not really. I have written just vibes. I have written quite a few well, not quite a few, like three or four FDOM scripts too. And I really enjoy writing those. But yeah, I don't know. It's somehow sub is a little bit easier, but they're both like that kind of dynamic, the F Dom sub is really easy for me. It could just comes naturally when I write. Yeah. I think F Doms are super like empowering for women to write. Mm-hmm. But that sub is where the the sub is where the fantasy part comes in where you can really just kind of go, Okay, what would I what would I want in this situation kind of thing? Yeah, it's a and it's Yeah, I I I think that's honestly, B and I both, you know, this whole you know, the whole Atlas sub, you know, conversation I was yeah, like going on for months now. Like when it was like a lecture. Yeah, when is it gonna drop? And you know, B and I were just like, you know, it's probably gonna be soon and but you know, but we're you know we're We're cool. We're not super, you know, co you know, excited about it's not really our thing, you know, we're not huge sub fans. Well just forget that. Learn something new about myself this week. yeah, whole new perspective on Sub show. I was just like, woo, I'm learning new tricks. B your camera went off, babe. I know, because I needed to take a drink and it looks ridiculous. okay. That's fine. Just wanted to make sure. yeah, so yeah, being a yeah I sent yeah, po I posted that today. I was like, wow, you guys are really making me learn things about myself today. Honestly, that's like one of my f my favorite comments is I didn't know I liked this. Because it's I feel like some of the stuff that I write, like sub and like the collabs. People are like, well, I don't I don't like to listen to like ones where it's not listener insert or I don't like sub or I don't like this or that. and I sh I take a lot of pride when people say that and then they listen and they're like, actually, the way that you did it this way, I do like it now. Yeah. It was just yeah, so like some of the some of the stuff that was written. It was just like the At the end of the word, that's just my personality. It was like Yeah. The B was very just like, okay, wow. Yeah, I would do that. Yeah, I would do that. It was so Yeah, I was like, you can evil cackle while you're while you're okay, cool, cool. And the growling, yep, okay, yep. I just Yeah, can we just talk about that fucking like subby growl? I almost like literally lost it. Like I almost shut my computer and just walked away. I was like, no. Cause I was literally like live, you know, live reacting. And I was like, my god, ha what is this? And the amount of soul that live react that we're just going like Like half of them were actually reacting and half of them hadn't listened to it yet. And they were like, You you guys are only three minutes in. What's happening? Why? Why already? It's like you just wait. You just wait. Ugh. It was so good. It was so good. It was just so much it just so well written. Yeah. Just And was the I'm curious. I you know, I know we talk we talk a lot about you know, kind of ad libbing and things like that with scripts. how much do you do you think that how much of that was ad libbing for the, you know, for parts of that for that script? there were a few. I would say like ninety or ninety-five percent of it is my writing. yeah, the script. but Atlas threw in a few good ones in there. What was his as he did? The one the the Let Me Tell You Something that was see I missed that the two times that I was l that I was part of the listener party and every b every single time I missed it. Yeah. so I did the like Okay, we can talk about this, but he added in the let me tell you something. and then at the end, the other big one that he did was the the Greg part. So I ended it with I just would like to know like what yeah. I just would like to know what to expect of the next work function. And then he added everything after that. So my god, that's so funny. Did he did he let you know when no he said that he He said no. Throughout throughout the script. He said there were parts that made him say, Jesus, Piper. Did he let you know where those parts were? Because I'd quite like to know. I don't actually, but I do know, like, when I was writing it, I sent him a few tropes that I was considering, like things that I was considering putting in the script. And I said, like, what are your thoughts on these? How do you feel about it? And he told me to go nuts. So I thought you might say go for myself. He really he really trusts you, Barbara. He may have regretted that after, but Yeah, he may have regretted that. Did who approached who first for the subscript? Because this is his first one. Did he say like so you approached him? Yeah. Mm-hmm. I did, yeah. Because he It had been like an ongoing conversation for a while. I don't know, just like in different spaces. And like I said, I I am I'm pretty confident in my S thing. You should be, girl. You just you just throw it out there. You are good at it. You're you can say it. yeah, so there's that. And then I also feel pretty comfortable writing for Atlas. and I feel like I can write things that fit his voice pretty well, and his acting. So I just kind of said that to him. I just said, like, just I don't know if you know this, but like sub is kind of a specialty of mine. So can I write you one? And he said, sure. And then I sent him a couple of little like snippets of things that I I have like my notes app is just full of like, I don't know, a paragraph or two of a script here and there. so I sent him two different snippets. it is. It is. so I sent him two and I said like which one any of these your either of these speak to you. and then he he picked Bratless. So Yeah. Just Bratless. Fucking hell. That was like a placeholder name. I was like, I can't think of a title for this. So we're leaving this here. And he was like, I'm not opposed to Bratlist. And I was like, all right, we'll come back to it. He wouldn't. And of course, and then I was like, okay, well, you know what? It's growing on me. So maybe we'll just use that one. Yeah. It worked so well. He earns that title on the regular. So yeah, he gets he gets to have that. my gosh. It was so good, Piper. I mean, it just really was. I mean, I know that. It was like, it's his first the first and so and I honestly I think you may I think he may may end up having to do a lot more of these because of you. Yeah, I'm sure he has like all of his writers now being like, Okay, can I write you one? Yeah, exactly, exactly. Cause yeah, I mean I mean, obviously he killed it. He did such an amazing job attack. Yeah, absolutely. Always does. I mean, give credit where credit is due. But yeah, I I can I can see this being I can see him maybe regretting this. 'Cause you know, he said it's you know, he wasn't sure about, you know, b about doing it and whether or not he thought he would enjoy it or whatever. But yeah, I think he did. Yeah. Seemed like he did at least. I think he he killed it. He absolutely nailed it. So my gosh. Yeah. No, he nailed it. Absolutely nailed it. As we knew he would. As we knew he would. And you know, that's probably because he was so comfortable, like, with your scripts. That he just he just could go Well and I I I do that with every VA. I just say, like, you know, if there's anything you're not comfortable with, just tell me and we'll change it or I'll like we'll work around it. so I I would hope that the people that I work with feel comfortable with my work because I'm very careful about that. Yeah. And that's why I did ask him about those things before I put it in there. So Yeah. Just see, you know, safety is important. You know, we talked about that a little bit last week with or another VA and it's like, you know, it's the same way for VAs as it is for listeners. They have to feel safe. They have to feel like, you know, what they're putting out there is, you know, good for them. And, you know, if they trust you, it that's that's a huge deal. So you've earned that for sure. so you said you're writing a book. I would assume is that would that be your romance book? It is. Yeah. I I still have to kind of get back into it. I've been trying to write this book for like two years since I started script writing. But then I have ADHD and so script writing is like, well, I can write three thousand words and be done. Right. Whereas the book is like, no, that's a lot more. but yeah, so I started this book For a writing contest locally. and then I I didn't end up winning anything, but it was like the thing that kind of sparked me to start writing again because I was like, I really liked doing this. so it's just like a brother's no, sis hold on, best friend's brother romance. And it's like a dual perspective and flashbacks and that kind of thing. so like childhood friends. And yeah, I'm I it's called catch point and it's I will start putting things on my Instagram eventually about it, but still excited. It's very exciting. Yeah. We love it. We love we love it what to hear when you guys are gonna tell us like full fledged stories because like you know, that's we love our scripts, we love our we love our AE, but you know We really get into these stories and these characters. And, you know, we keep asking you guys for these sequels and these series and we need to know what how we need another one. We need another one. And it's like, yeah, you know, it's we just we're just very greedy. We just want more of what you do. Well, I do I write a lot of series probably because of that. Yeah. Because I can continue stories longer. But yeah. No, that makes sense. I I just, you know, I I've absolutely loved everything that you've done. So what are your yeah, since you are writing a book, what are your like long term goals? Like do you want to continue script writing? Would you prefer to, you know, move into more of the books or author space? What what's your what does your heart want the most? my heart is very greedy, so I want both. you want it all? I get that. I want it all. No, I I'm very content with script writing right now. It is like I don't know, it it feeds my soul. It's like I I just really enjoy doing it. and I also want to write a book. So I yeah, I think both. I don't know where I'm gonna get all the time for this, but That's not that's not relevant. It's not relevant. No. We don't yeah, no, I don't plan to stop script writing anytime soon. So we don't let reality ruin our dreams, Piper. Fair. That is fair. It's fair, exactly. So is there something in pop culture, movies, stories, or anything like that that you would love that would love to like let inspire a script that you haven't done yet? yeah, it's for me, a lot of my inspiration comes from music. so there's a song by Somber, My Body Isn't Ready. And that one has just been like digging at me. So I need to write a script about that. I literally be teller, what was this last night I told you? I said, How cool would it be to do a series? Where like someone tells you their favorite song and you just do and then like you write a script about their favorite song. Like if a VA told you their favorite song and you wrote a script about it. Yeah. I just thought that would be so cool because it's you know, music is so emotional, you know? Mm-hmm. And it pulls and there's Some some music has stories. Some music makes you make up stories in your mind. And I just always just like that would be so cool, you know, just to hear, first of all, what music someone likes, just to kind of get that little insight into them as a person. And then also, you know, but so like you said, like you love that song and it just inspires you. So music is just so inspiring in general. Mm-hmm. Yeah. There's some times where I will just hear a song and then it's Even if it's not related to the lyrics, like there's just something about the melody that's like well, that's what this one is for. Yeah. Even if it's just a cadence or a rhythm, sometimes it can just really like fuel your imagination. Yeah. Totally. Yeah. I love that. Okay. So I'm gonna ask you a couple of questions from some listeners. Like I said, two or actually four people just said, How dare you? and then there were a couple of actual questions. so Vicky asked us to ask you, is there a theme you would love to explore more but don't feel like you have the audience for yet? Or something that you would like to dive into? that's a good question. Not necessarily that I don't feel like I have the audience for. I think a lot of what I want to do that I haven't done is time constraints. I am not like a quick writer, like it takes me a while to write a script. so it's hard to like I've had this idea for a larger sort of collab thing. But it would require me to write several scripts and just don't have the time. I haven't had the time yet. so I do want to do that, but that might take me a while. but yeah, no, I feel like if there's something that I want to try, I feel pretty comfortable trying that. you know, I started my very first script on Quinn was trying times, which is like a about a couple that's trying to get pregnant and like there was nothing on Quin about at the time. Yeah. So I just kind of like dove in face first and yeah. So I'm not really I don't know. I just taking risks as somebody who used to be very risk averse has just become like it's just what I'm gonna do. It's so good for you. It's so good for you. And you did a whole series about pregnancy, right? Mm-hmm. Yeah. We did trying times, which is it was there was four audios on Quinn and there's one Safe for Work one on Reddit as well. So cool. I love that. Yeah. Some something that is just really not represented. So yeah, that that's so cool that you did that. I love it. so our beloved Meg had a couple of questions for you. we'll go with the we'll go with the serious one first. Meg wanted to know how has and this is an absolutely amazing question, how has writing AE changed the way you view intimacy in real life? that is a great question. It's so good. yeah. It has totally changed it. Yeah, I I feel like I learned how to communicate. something that I really didn't know how to do before I started writing this and listening. So that and again I think my confidence too. So confidence in myself, confidence in my ability to talk to my partner. and bring things up that might be uncomfortable. I also think that it has given me an opportunity to just kind of really dive into that and think about what intimacy is and what it means to me and ways that I can portray that. So just like very conscious and aware of it. whereas before I feel like I sort of had an idea of what intimacy was, but I didn't like if you had asked me, I don't know if I would have had an answer before. Yeah. and I yeah. I feel like I have a lot more to say about it now. Mm-hmm. Right. Yeah, it's like something that you almost it was something like that was sadly, but was almost like an afterthought. You know, it was just kind of like Something that you didn't really think about. Yeah, exactly. You explore all the different ways that it can be a thing, you know, even in an established like you said, even in an established relationship. It's it's insane all the things that you can that you've never even had to do. Well, and I mean, not to get too personal, but my husband and I have been together for twenty years and we're in our thirties still. Yep. You know, we were teenagers when we got together. And so things like aftercare, like we didn't know what that was. Like neither of us, because we were so young and like you know. And so diving into this world where you have all of these things to figure out and listen to and you know discover things that you didn't know before that nobody taught you. yeah, it has a big impact. Huge. Yeah, I I mean my husband and I have been together since I was nineteen. So trust me, I get that on a whole level. Also, I think man, could men learn so much from listening to A E? Wow. You know, we talk all the time about romance books 'cause, you know, in the book space we say, Man, if we're we're giving you the manual, if you would just, you know, read it, you know. You you would you would have so much an easier time. But man, talk about simplified. It's 20 to 30 minutes. Just go listen. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. You don't even have to take that much time. You don't even have to read a whole book. So easy. Yeah, I mean, what are you gonna do? It is what it is. Okay. So Meg also wants to know, do you think cakes are elite or need to put put be put in the bin? cakes are elite. A hundred percent. Who doesn't like cake? Yeah. Well my husband is God, he he loves pies. He would rather have a birthday pie than a birthday cake, but no, no, I'm all about the cake. Me too. I'd have a cake. That sounds dirty, but it's not meant to be dirt. It's not. Yeah, no. Just just give me a cake. Like actual cake. Yeah. Exactly. All the time. Yes. So B, do you wanna get into you have any like technical questions for Miss Piper? Sell backs, I need to find them Okay. Okay, okay, okay. here's one. Do you like writing in st stage directions? Like what you think where you think certain sounds should be, or do you let the VA and the editor kind of go off intuition? it really depends on the VA that I'm working with. So some of them, especially if they're working with an editor, they want like, here's where this starts, here's where this stops, that kind of thing. whereas other VAs that I work with, they They just kind of like to put their own stuff in. So again, it really depends on who I'm working with. and people that I work with a lot, I kinda get used to what they like and that's the way I write it. Makes sense. Okay. Is it difficult sometimes? Like like do you I mean first, do you have multiple scripts on the go sometimes? all the time. I have like I said, have ADHD. I can't just sit and do one thing. So I will have like three three to four scripts going at the same time. And then I write like based on what I feel like writing. So if you've got like I say a regular script, like a a one perspective script, is it difficult to kind of switch from that to like an F or an back to like the four A or F four A, like no, I don't really find it difficult. I I think my brain really likes the dopamine of just getting a few things done on one and then moving to the other one and doing something there. I think I I don't I did at one point mix a couple up. So I don't work on things that are Yeah. That was like way back at the beginning, but Yeah, so I don't work on things that are similar at the same time. I have that's fair, you know, different things open at the same time. but no, I this is I really enjoy reading back my scripts. So like if I have, you know, half of it done, I will read the whole half and then continue from there. 'cause I really like to immerse myself in it and get into that character's mind frame. so I don't know, I just it's fun. I I pop back and forth between different characters. Yeah. It's so fun. Yeah. What kind of character Or rather has bit has there been a character type that you find quite difficult to write? Yeah, a genuinely mean person. So I have, you know, different Yeah, like dominant scripts and things like that. I have a couple that could probably border on the hate sex stuff. But I I really struggle to write like mean characters that don't like at the end it's not a scene. Yeah, like you genuinely don't like each other. Yes. Yeah. that is hard for me to do because I do like for me intimacy part of that is genuine care, not necessarily love, but just like you care about the person that you are. Yeah, you have to like the other person as a person in order to be intimate and there's a disconnect. Yeah, and I understand that that's not the case for everyone, but I do struggle with like writing that authentically because it's difficult for me to imagine that. Yeah. That's what I'm thinking that's one of the ones that I just leave to people who are good at that. I think that's okay. I think that you don't like you said earlier, you don't have to do everything. Like I feel like if you try to do everything, you're inevitably gonna find something that is not for you. So you stick with what you stick with what you like and what you know and what you enjoy. So On that vein though, have you ever written something that you'd kind of forced yourself to write and then realised, Ooh, I like writing this. I want to do more now. good question. I don't I've never f forced myself to write it, but is there one that I wasn't sure about? yeah. There was kind of along the same veins, but not necessarily hate, but I have one with Lux that's called Master Strokes. And it was like rivals to lovers. Mm-hmm. And they are yeah, very competitive. he's like dominant and sorta mean, to be honest. But it's like it's a dynamic that they have and then at the end it's just kinda like Playful kind of. Yeah. but yeah, that one I didn't I I really was excited about that idea and I really enjoyed writing it, but it was totally out of my comfort zone at the time. It was like very different to anything I'd ever written. and then from there I figured out that I really like writing condescending DOM. So yeah. That's that's the one that I discovered from that. Yeah. Considering it like you struggle writing or imagining like mean people, was it a bit of a surprise for you to be like, I like writing condescending? A little bit, but also I I know myself enough to know that like I love writing like hockey sh little shits. Like I love that. They're so much fun. whether they are being like taken down a peg or two, or whether they are the ones in charge. Like they're just really fun characters to write and they can be so sassy and I love writing that. So I wasn't really I don't know, I was I guess a little bit surprised 'cause Again, condescending can be mean, but I think there's a way to write it that is yeah more more playful and less yeah mean outright. Yeah. I feel like that's the script writer's like version of banter. Like, you know, banter and I love banter is like everything, you know, that back and forth. But that's like in when you can't write back and forth and you have to just write one perspective. you know, most of the time. Yeah. That's that kind of banter element. Yeah. Mm-hmm. I love that. Do you have to stop yourself like writing more? Like I know it's only one side, but like do you ever find yourself like kind of right like four pages in, writing an entire conversation between these two people? Arguing with yourself. That's not I need to mm yes, actually. There's one script that I wrote, well, I s the first version I wrote, probably within like the first three months that I started script writing. And it has been through so many rewrites. and it is going to be coming to Quinn soon. But I had to rewrite like multiple scenes and I had to take out things and redo parts because it just I it was It's very character driven and I think I think the way that I have it now is going to be awesome. but the other versions that I had, it was just like so much build up to the actual event that it was like, Well, okay, is this actually audio erotica or are you writing like a novella here? Like you gotta take some of this out. cut it down, that kind of thing. So it took me a while, but I think I've I found the balance. Yeah. So do you like write have you ever written a character in a script and thought I need to adopt him or her and put her I need to put her in her own little box and do something with that because I I I cannot I love I love them. I love them. They are they are my adorable little I love them. I want to write more. I need to write their entire life. Yeah, their whole thing. Yeah. Like 90% of my screen. I was gonna say I feel like that. Yeah. This is this This is why I have so many series because I do kind of fall in love with characters. And I'm like, well, but what if they did this? And what if this happened? What if that happened next? but actually I go ahead, I'm sorry. Yeah, no, that's okay. I did the opposite. So I had I don't know, like five or six chapters of this book that I was writing, not the one that I am now, but a different one. And I kind of got stuck and I was like, I don't know, like I don't really know what to do with the rest of this. and then I turned that into a three script series. that useless timidity did the I thought I knew you and so that originally was going to be a book but I got stuck and I was like, you know what? I don't know if I have enough for a whole book. so then I just adapted it into that. And so it's really fun to be able to like mold and change things and go from one one medium to another. yeah. Is it hard though taking out like an in like an entire character? Because you essentially have to do that when writing scripts, don't you? Like if you're changing it from a book to a script, you'd have to take out one of the main characters. not necessarily. I feel like the script writers that do this really well, and the one that pops to mind is Viola, like Voracious Bard. I don't know if she writes for Rum a lot. and she's fantastic at somehow making the listener a character. Like you're not just there, but like there's there's more to the listener. and it like you don't lose that character, like you're still there. and I feel like I did a pretty good job of that with this one. this is one where the the I got a lot. Well, we got a lot of comments. Like, I I can't stand the listener. Like, I can't why is he still with her? because she is a flawed character. Like she makes bad decisions. and I kind of love that. Yeah. Like, so I d I feel like I didn't actually lose that character. I just transferred it to the listener for that one. Yeah. I love that. That's so cool. And I mean, think about how much art. has come out of bees included, out of this one audio has been inspired by this. And they don't they aren't all just pictures of Bratless. They're pictures of, you know, the listener and the person who's on the other end of those of that. And so but I mean what I was gonna say I think is that you know you were talking about how much you love your characters. And I think to me that's a sign of and that's one of the reasons why people really identify with your characters and what you write is that it's clear that you pour a lot of love into them, you know, regardless of whatever however you want to say it. it's just we're just threading about sex or this or that. These are our characters. They're fully fledged characters. They have backgrounds, they have stories, they have emotions, trauma, all of that stuff. And it's just in a smaller package, but you can tell that you absolutely love the characters from the way that the stories play out on the page. So I think I mean if you love the the amount of times that me and Kim The amount of times that me and Kim talk about you know wonder what that I wonder what they do for a job. What do you think? I'm glad they snuck home one day and did this and it was just It was a fifteen minute audio. Jesus Christ. Yeah, exactly. What's wrong with you? Like, what do you think they're doing after this? It's it's a problem, Piper. It's a problem. Think about this stuff way too much, obviously. Yeah. But yeah. Yeah. We blame the fact that we read very long books. Yeah, it's a book. I think it's a book girly thing. Yeah. We just we just want to know the whole story. Yeah. For sure. We want to know what happens when they go to McDonald's and stuff. It's just and that's why I write Slice of Life, so you can know what happens when they go to McDonald's. I freaking love that so much. I've said I've said this before. You know, audio erotica can be like, you know, books for ADHD girlies. You know, like you get you get a whole story, but you don't have to read, you know, a five hundred page book. Yeah, but then you press pause and you realise that you've been stood staring at a wall for an hour and a half while you're supposed to be doing laundry or the washing up, thinking of a very elaborate story of what happened next week. I may have done that on Friday, yeah. May have done that. Yeah. my gosh. Okay. So Piper, if your future self left you a five-word note, what do you think it would say? My future self. So now I have to tell the future. A five-word note. keep doing what you're doing. Can I count? Keep it what you're doing. Yeah. Okay. Yep. Keep doing what you're doing. Yeah. Please do. God, don't stop. Please, please, please. I do not plan to stop anytime soon. Yeah, good. B are do you want to move on to silly's? Okay. This is kind of funny. Do you have a group chat that has a really weird or funny name? Do I? I don't think so. Hold on. Let me check this. It's probably ours with just your name spelled really weird. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know. I think I think probably just that. That that me that checks out. We are probably the weirdest people you know. Papa had one with Alice and Atlas. That was for the I feel you, but I don't know where that one went. I forget what that one was titled. That was the title. But it was good. That was probably a weird name. I don't remember. my god. Speaking of which, can we just talk about those frickin' bloopers from that? my god. That was incredible. That was incredible. I think those two share a brain, seriously. We've talked about this before. Yeah. But my gosh. Just listening to them crack each other up was so funny. They have so much fun and it totally comes through in the audio. I just love the bits where they were sort of reading and they were like going, they're gonna hate us And when what when you were listening to that, did you like sit there and go Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho Just sat there in your wheelchair. Like, yeah, a dead. Yeah. No, when I sent them That script, both of them, their reactions were amazing. They were just like, What did you do? And I mean it was killer. It was killer. Yeah. It was such a good series and like it was so They were so different. Like the episodes, they were just practically completely different concepts. Yeah. Like Yeah. I'm really, really proud of that one. But they still but they still made sense together. That was the thing. Yes, they did. Yeah. Insane. So good. Yeah. And that one that honestly that came from I wrote like a mini narrative script in not this past summer, but the one before. and I had worked with Alice a couple times and she saw that. I had posted it on Reddit and that was the the part of her script that's before she calls him. So that's all it was. It was that little bit of it. And then she messaged me and said, like, Are you gonna do more with this? Cause you should do more with it. so then we started working on it and then Yeah, it was I love that. Just all came from that. It's so cool. Yeah. I love it. That's so. Okay, Piper, what is your most irrational fear? My most irrational fear. Mm-hmm. my god. I have I'm a very scared person. Probably that everybody hates me, but on a on a more lighthearted note. I feel no spiders. I don't like spiders. Spiders. Spiders. We'll go with spiders. Totally make totally get it. Yeah. Hate them. Hate them so much. Hate them. What about so Piper? You're gonna be the first person that gets to play our new game. I should I be scared? I found this one. I'm very excited about it. Okay, let's go to the game. Let's go to the game. Okay. So this game is called Quick Quick Quick. And it's you say three things, and there's like a ton of different scenarios. Okay. So We can do it one of two ways. We can do everyone does one or we can make type or two all three. We'll see how it goes. Whatever you want. Yeah. All right. Okay. Quick, quick, quick. Say three reasons to skip school. sick family trip, Hurt Hurt Okay, are you ready? god, yeah. Say three ways a unicorn could use its horn Revenge I got one. Donut holder. Donut holder. I like that. back scratcher. Back scratcher. Excellent. Excellent. Okay, here you go, Piper. Say three things you do not want to hear on a roller coaster. oops. Where's that? I don't feel so good. no, I don't feel so good. No, I haven't seen the last one. that's so good. So good. Okay. Last one. Okay. Say three reasons to take your socks off really fast. I got one. Ants. The color was disturbing. That's such a B answer. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. Yes. What did you say, B? The colour was disturbing. the colour was disturbing, yeah. the wrong texture. Yes. Yes. Or you realize they don't That's like that's a that's a throw the socks out of the window situation. Or you realize they don't match, like they look like the same sock, but they weren't. And then you're like see, I don't mind that. That's fine. I don't just like whatever. my God. All right. B, what do you got? Anything else? Are we have we exhausted all of our questions? I got one for you, Piper. Is there anything that you have? I know you probably can't say any details, but is there anything that you have coming up that you're like super excited about or anything that you're Like really like having trouble not telling everyone about Ooh, up until this week it was Bratless. Yeah. Yeah. I've seen that. Super excited about that one. yeah, I have a few things coming up in the next couple months. what can I talk about? okay, there's one since we were talking about based on songs. there's one that's based on Zombie by Youngblood. You know that one? Stop. and yeah, it's like I know I've written emotional stuff before, but that one is like devastating. no. so that one's gonna come out and I am yeah, I think it's gonna be really good. So my god. Yeah, that's probably the the one that I can talk about. There's other stuff, but yeah. That's amazing. Yeah. that sounds like What audio what like audio or audio series would you like to direct people towards that? you think deserve more attention or that you're really proud of? Yeah. yeah, I I it's always gonna be trying times for me. Yeah. so that whole series is yeah, it it follows a couple from trying to have a baby through pregnancy and then the last safe for work one is a postpartum one. and like for me, maternal mental health is a huge thing that I'm an advocate for. I struggled. I have people in my life that have passed away because of postpartum depression. and so like that is really important to me. and I am like unbelievably proud of the work that Lex and I did with that series. and I just the the comments that we got with that one and how like healing people felt it was and like the genuine gratitude for it. Like that is really important work that I am so proud of. I'm proud of all my work, but I feel like that one is the one, you know, at the end of all of this, I don't know if I'll be able to create something that is that impactful. So yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I love that. I love that. And it is such an important, important issue. So yeah. I absolutely love that. Yeah. The Piper, I I know that B and I both are just I it's funny how this always happens. Like we get we we ask people to come on and then it just turns out to be like the most perfect timing. Considering some kind of drop or something that comes out. And I tell you, I couldn't be more thrilled that you were here, you know, two days after Bratless dropped. Because what an epic drop. What an amazing drop day. Like I will never forget just that experience of reacting to that. And with you know, so many friends and in such a lovely community. And it was such a such an amazing time. I mean a whole day of just watching people listen to this audio. I it was lose their mind fabulous. Yeah. And that that teaser day on on when just just like all the people that were like Piper Yes What the fuck? Yeah. Yeah. The whole week was just so fun and so special and so glad that we got to have that this week. So what yeah a great I always say it, but you Atlas and Dex are like Voltron. Like when you get together it's like, danger. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I was perfect storm. Yeah. Team effort and it was awesome. And like I I know he was nervous about it, but wow. I I mean the fact that he gets nervous about anything just says all we need to know about the man to begin with because he's absolutely fabulous at everything. But, you know, he's obviously, you know, humble enough to still get nervous about things, which is, you know, one of the reasons why we all, you know, think he's pretty cool. But Yeah. And that's as far as she'll go. And that's as far as I'll go on that. I'm just kidding. Yeah, he's pretty cool, I guess. He's all right. Yeah. I still got I gotta talk to this guy like three more times this year. I I I g I can't go I can't go overboard, you know. but yeah, so I I think that you guys make such an amazing team because you do just you are so humble and but you are also so talented. So Yeah, but also when when you kind of are together in this it kind of creates this little whirlpool of menace little menace trifecta Yeah, exactly. Yeah, yeah. The little horns come out and it's like Yeah, exactly. Exactly. It's almost like a conversation of how evil was I today. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah. Well, Piper, thank you so much for being here. I can't I'm so excited that we got Thanks for having me. That was fun. I can't wait to hear the Youngblood audio. That's amazing. I'm so excited about that. And then I'm sure you're gonna do so many more amazing things. So and we're can't wait for the book. So you know, when you feel like working on that. We take your time, but also like you take your time, but you know, we're we're yeah, we wanna read it. Yeah. No pressure. We love you and thank you so much for being here and hanging out with us again. We are always so grateful for anyone who takes the time to chat with us. So I hope that was fun. Thank you. good. I'm so glad. And well, I guess we'll see you around. Can't wait to see what when okay, so when do you have something dropping next? I believe I have one with Lux this week. and then I have a couple of drops with Brewey's Halloween collab in October. my gosh. I can't wait for that. So those should be the next ones. It's gonna be good. I've read her scripts, so I can't wait. I can't wait. All right. Well, we'll be seeing you around. Thank you so much, Piper, for hanging out with us. And we'll see you guys next time. We've got some good guests coming. So stay tuned. Bye. Bye bye. Swinging on the pro texts of the promoter.
