- 0:02[SPEAKER_00]: Before we begin family, a quick heads up.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_00]: This story is a horror game and as such, it is full of things that might disturb your dreams, follow in your footsteps, and haunt your waking hours.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_00]: Please check the episode description for a full list of content warnings before proceeding.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: Take care of yourselves, and thanks for listening.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: The witch is bound, the ritual awaits, but to free her, the two men must surrender a memory they hold dear, when they will never get back.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: And in the dark, the man in the many coats is almost here.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_01]: Man, there are lots of things I would be happy to forget so it has to be a deeply
- 1:26[SPEAKER_01]: What sort of devil deal is this that you would ask us after all these trials and tribulations that seek and I have been going through to get this done?
- 1:41[SPEAKER_01]: Now we have to give up the only happy thing that we remember.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: It's the way things are.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: It must be done.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: This man from let the Langley Cole company, the one who tied me up,
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to want my help when he does.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_01]: Which?
- 2:03[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to turn the tables on you now.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: We've dug on and done everything rabbit rabbit wanted us to do.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_01]: Now, doing what I'm talking river wants us to do.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: And now we're doing what a witch wants us to do.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_01]: If we free you, you're going to do what we want you to do.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: I understand.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not against you, sir.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: Only if you're against me, but we can work together.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: All right, then.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_01]: God herself is an understanding.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, we do.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: And I think at that point, Zeke, you would make your way back.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Zeke's hustling in with just in his hands, kind of like, all right, I wasn't sure how many we needed.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_02]: So I got just got a small handful.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_02]: And he kind of just places them on the ground.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I'll stay on watch, and what else we need.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_02]: We got the cards.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_02]: We got the mushrooms.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_02]: Mushrooms.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: And she will also explain to you the shared memory as part three.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, see, do we get to choose the memory or is it sort of just randomly?
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: You both, you both will decide on this deeply hailed memory and it must be sincere.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_01]: I think for W.E.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think for W, he can't help but think of the happiest memory that he has had and that was that summer day by the rock that looked like a rabbit.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_01]: For everything went wrong and when he thinks of that, he looks back towards Eek.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: The guy, I feel we've gone through a lot together.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_01]: And I think what she's asking us to do now is to give up the one thing that we're trying to save.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: And I think she's asking us to give up Adelaide.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I don't think it would be just given up Adelaide entirely.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_02]: I think we'll still always have memories of a lifetime childhood with her, but perhaps if we're going to give up like that once those like one of those best days ever, I don't think it soils the rest of it.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's just make some of it foggy.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_01]: Which, and are we going to forget about Adelaide if we agree to this?
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: She says it's just a gap.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: They'll just be a gap in your memory.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: That's it.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: You're not forgetting anybody.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_02]: See?
- 4:36[SPEAKER_02]: See you just a gap.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_02]: I really.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_02]: You'll still remember who she is.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_01]: She'd better not be fooling with us.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, remember what we promised no matter how bonkers these things get the deals the critters whatever would do in this for our friend through thick and thin.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_02]: I'm with the onus.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_02]: What's that shit used to say musketeers three musketeers?
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, little toe hole that always got you.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_02]: You son of a gun.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_02]: May I think we are in the cord for what we're willing to offer to spice up what of a brew we need to get you out of here?
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: Perfect.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: And as you say that, a piece of the wall from about six feet away falls to the ground and it falls, it's like, comes from behind W.E.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: and you hear, and she says, uh, he's coming.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: He's coming.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: And as she says that, another one falls down to the ground.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: And she says, OK, you and she nods her head towards you, Zik, lay the cards in a circle, and a circle around me.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: I need you to.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_02]: All right, custom.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: Mash the mushrooms into a paste.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_02]: Shit, all right, he sets the cards out.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_02]: He kind of takes the mushrooms, kind of mash them, which means giant, glove-tands.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: and she looks at you.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: She looks at you, W.E.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: And you recount the memory out loud.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_01]: W will close his eyes, clutching the shovel, and throw his memory back to that warm summer day, back in that blade with the rabbit-shaped rock.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: Outside the cabin, there's a little fort, smell of a pine forest in the mossy, dirt, and the warm sun on their faces as they played, and wrestled, tussled, and soared played, and the arrival of Adelaide and the singing of her song, and her smile.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_00]: And as you speak it, and the more you speak it, the longer it goes, you start to feel it fade from your memory.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: After every word that's spoken, it starts to leave and the memory vanishes from both of your minds.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: You still remember Adelaide, but the specific memory is gone.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: And you can see, visibly the witch's power returns to her.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: as you can see her hair starts to like rise, when starts to circle around her and water as well.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: And you could see that the leathery skin starts to rot into dust instantly as her power returns.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: And she looks at you, W.E.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: Seeing the heroic, the horrific body wounds that you have.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: and the dark taint of the hunt, writing out, radiating off of you that fall out that you took.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: And she says, looks like the, looks like you were nearly taken out.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: And she sweeps her easier frail hand in like a soothing arc around your body.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: and a rush of cool pure spring water, magically washes over your injuries, and it starts to wash away some of the blood, and I'm gonna ask you to roll a D6, and that's how much you can restore to your strength.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_01]: All right, heck yeah.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't actually been booked this this year.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_01]: Four, I've got four back.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have the sixth strength now, I don't have the team.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so yes, she sees that and you can visibly start to see the risks and the angle starting to get restored as she looks at you and says thank you.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: We don't have much, and she's about to say time and you hear the footsteps coming down the shaft that you just walk through as well.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: And she says, okay, you both get ready, stand behind me.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: Stand behind me.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: And she spreads her arms up.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_02]: A massive silhouette blocks the tunnel exit.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: The man, if you can call them that, is a bulking mountain of leathery flesh, wearing decades of decaying, shed skin like a collection of tattered coats.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: And in his hand, he holds a whip, made of thin cord and rested metal barbs.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: And he looks at the freed witch, then back at the two of you.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: The Langley Coal and Navigation Company doesn't want her dead.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: But if you fight me, you will be.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: So let's make a deal.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_00]: Help me bind her permanently, once again.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: Do this, and the company will grant you wealth and power beyond your imagination.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: And your owe to the bloody rabbit?
- 10:43[SPEAKER_00]: Our personally severed for you.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: He takes a couple steps closer in.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_02]: What's your name?
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: You can call me Kiarna.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: I can't assure you the company is faithful.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_01]: Now what about Adelaide?
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: What's she be free?
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: He looks at you confused he's head turned to the side, I don't know any, Adelaide.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_02]: How do you know the rabbit?
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: He's been working against me for months.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_00]: That's how I know of him.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_00]: He's the reason why I knew where the Mander Witch lives.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm taking her and I'm buying in her.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_00]: They're getting in the way of progress.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_02]: And what are you gonna do when the river flashes out at you?
- 11:39[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have to worry about the river, son.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_00]: And the Mander Witch, she just looks at you too, and just shakes her head.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_02]: Zeke, Zeke's gonna squat down for a moment and pick up one of the cards, the one he found, with the mouth and sort of faults it.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_02]: Now, Mr. Keon, we have had a very difficult day in a half.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_02]: We had to say goodbye to a friend of ours, and then learn as children.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_02]: We've done made a deal that as adults we have to cash in home.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_02]: And one hurdle after another, we have had to make promises and satisfy owes, due deeds, just a clear ledger that we made when we were just nipperkins.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_02]: And he folds the moth card with the moth facing hounds sort of just
- 12:50[SPEAKER_02]: fidgets with it in his hand, flapping it, tapping W, nudging behind the ear of Prince and touching and grasping the hand of the
- 13:19[SPEAKER_02]: Especially around here, especially when it comes to nature, to blood, and he looks at W and to family.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_02]: I regret to inform you that I must decline your offer.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_02]: As tempting as it may sound, it wouldn't see a right with me.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_02]: Go back and all these promises, just because you're asking me to.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_02]: So, we could be on our way.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_02]: No harm, no fail.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_02]: This doesn't have to get messy.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_02]: And like you said, your wealthy, your prosperous, the company can always bounce back.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_00]: He says, and so it settled then, and you see his arm whip down, and he has the whip.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_00]: arm raises, and as the whip is reared back into the air, it goes straight towards your neck and your torso, Zeke.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_00]: And it's long and it reaches out like hands with talons to scratch you and scar you.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_00]: And you can feel it, the sound of the whip through the air as it comes to slice at you.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm going to roll a date of damage.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: That is six damage.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_02]: So, I activated that Moth card.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: Oh?
- 15:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_02]: That Moth card, for the remainder of an hour, being as I folded the Moth out and touched each one of my companions here.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_02]: For the next hour, we will all have plus three armor.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_02]: And...
- 15:16[SPEAKER_00]: Perfect, I'm happy for you.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_02]: And I will also say that at the beginning of this little trek,
- 15:22[SPEAKER_02]: He, Zik, did utilize the bag of the hunt on himself to give him one armor in addition.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_02]: So I would say he would only take two damage from this.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_02]: As he feels a bit of kind of divine protection around his throat.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_02]: As he kind of holds his ground, he feels like at one moment he's going to collapse.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_02]: As this thing wraps around his neck and then he feels just enough to point his rifle at
- 15:52[SPEAKER_02]: and then also goes, get a prince, and fires.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_00]: And Prince will attack as well.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Prince's D4 rolled higher than my D6 and because we're both attacking, we take his number, which is three damage.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so,
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: So you're shooting and your dog is attacking at the same time and you could see that Prince like tears off one of the strips of flesh that he uses as a coat and you could see he's rips it apart to shreds and you see him kian he doesn't scream but he looks more annoyed as he looks down at the dog.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_02]: And fun fact German shepherds have the second strongest bite in all
- 16:41[SPEAKER_00]: up, and Kian is feeling that bite right now.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_00]: The manderwitch raises her hands and her voice echoes with like the roar of the river and that power inside of her a swarm of massive.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: slick, hellfender, salamanders erupt from the dep, cavern floor, and they start to surge over Kian's boots and tearing at his like decaying coats.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm going to roll a D8 as well.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_00]: And this is for the mandor which against Kian.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_02]: And I rolled a 5.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_00]: You start to see that there are all the salamanders that have erupted from the ground are biting and tearing away at him and they're doing real damage as you can see balls to one knee.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_00]: And he looks up his eyes are red with anger.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, mechanically, mechanically, he is impaired.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_00]: I will let you know.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_00]: Just because I think this would be helpful.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_01]: A lot has happened since this man arrived.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_01]: He saw his friend get attacked by this weird shadowy whip.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: He's a gun is gone off.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_01]: Prince has blatched onto him and he's salamanders overrooking from the ground.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_01]: W.E.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_01]: is just kind of shake his head as he just starts marching forward, brandishing the shovels as I've just had a boat enough.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_01]: and he's going to raise his shovel over his head and just try and smack this key on over the head with it.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_01]: Big box.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_00]: Let's do it.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_01]: Let's do it.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_01]: Roll these while.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_01]: Because I have that weapon oil tincture on it, that is specifically damages whoops, spirits and whatnot.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_01]: I could throw another D12.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_01]: Is that correct?
- 18:40[SPEAKER_00]: Uh-huh.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I forgot about that.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_00]: That's good.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_02]: That's good.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_02]: That's a total.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_02]: When the DM regrets giving magic items.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_01]: That is a total of 15 damage.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_00]: Jeez.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_00]: Oh.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_00]: That is... That is good.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_00]: That is... Oh, that is a good amount of damage.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_00]: You see him?
- 19:03[SPEAKER_00]: He was already on one knee because of the Salamanders.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_00]: What does that look like, narrate that for us?
- 19:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so he just marshes right up to this guy.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_01]: Just Salamanders are crawling all over him.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_01]: He's, I can see this key on this, what did you call him, flesh?
- 19:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, flesh.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_00]: What is a flesh coat?
- 19:24[SPEAKER_00]: Like a stringy flesh coat, yes.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so these strands of flesh just kind of hanging off of them.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_01]: And his as he's distracted by the Salamanders.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just going to walk right up to him, raise my shovel over my head and just come.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_01]: down hard.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to say with a sharp end of the space to the business and you can see a deep gash from the forehead down to his eye and his eye starts to bulge out.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_00]: It goes down as cheek as well.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_00]: Crosses mouth and chin and you can see skin old skin start to open and split.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_00]: And he has his whip and he's going to slash it at you, but he is weakened for this round only one round and it's only a D4 because the man derwitch helped you.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_00]: And I rolled the one, I'm so happy.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_00]: That's fun.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_01]: Three armor thanks to my good friend, Seek, so I take nothing.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, perfect!
- 20:33[SPEAKER_00]: Look at me.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_00]: Look, I'm happy for you.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_01]: he sounds like as he tries to lash out what that means is I'm just saying go to the hell you son of a bitch
- 20:45[SPEAKER_00]: You know, yeah, so he had got his arm and like had the whip with the barbed in and he's trying to, but he's like being attacked by the Salamanders.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_00]: You had just ripped into his face.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: So he's not feeling good.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, I'm going to say completely just goes wide and misses as he's disoriented.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_00]: But that was his action.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's now back to you guys.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, if not the whips off of his throat and he sees that W's way up up and in a Mr. Fleshcoats business, he'll quickly reload his rifle.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, I imagine I have another shot before he has to reload.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_02]: He'll shoot at him again, and he'll also just shout to Prince, take him down, bud!
- 21:27[SPEAKER_02]: And I will roll for my gun and for Prince's bite and see which one does more damage.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, let's do it.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_02]: All right, that's a five.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think Prince could beat out that, you know, Prince consistently has rolled another three, but this time, my rifle rolled a five for five damage.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_02]: So I think if anything, Prince distracts him to a point where Zika can fire at a more vulnerable spot on Keyarn's body.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_00]: Where does it land?
- 21:57[SPEAKER_00]: The shot, the shot hits, and you can see his body jerk back.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_02]: I think this shot, I think he by I think Prince Bites into him to a point where Kionne like Rear's back exposing a bit of his neck and that's what Z fires at is like a big bulging part of his neck.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_00]: and you could see chunk of flesh, bullet goes right through and you could see and here it hit the other side of the cave too.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_00]: And the Vanderwich, she locks her eyes onto this monstrosity of a person.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_00]: And you hear her seek.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_00]: She's whispering a single word that kisses out of her mouth.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_00]: And you see W.E.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_00]: Kearn suddenly, second drop to the knee, and he falls onto his back, and you start to see him clutch his throat.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_00]: As you see, there's an opening in his throat, W.E.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_00]: starts to feel with water, and he's clutching it, like, there is like a phantom river.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_00]: that is drowning him on this dry land.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_00]: And you can see him in his eyes go wide as he's having this kind of psychic and physical attack that bypasses his kind of mundane defenses that he has.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_00]: Like this coat is kind of like a defense for him.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I had a feeling he had some sort of defense.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's the leathery skin.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_00]: And he begins he's still what clawing at his neck and looks like someone who is drowning above water.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see if this flesh-coat man thumble backwards start grasping out his throat, drowning.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just going to walk over him, raise the shovel over my head to hands and just drive it down into his skull.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, okay, let's do it.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_00]: I need you to paint a word picture for us as you end Keyarn once and for all.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_01]: I think there is a look of anger and of a man who is just had enough.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_01]: and he just wants this to end and end quickly, he's not by nature of violent man, but the events of the day have driven him to the edge and beyond.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_01]: So when he raises this shovel over his head and like a spear just drives it into this creature's monsters head.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_01]: There is a look of satisfaction on WWE's face, maybe even a smile, and as the shovel just cleaves this man's head in half.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, through.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_01]: He stands there for a moment.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_01]: Breathing heavily.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_01]: And it'll just call back without even turning.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_01]: Which?
- 25:35[SPEAKER_01]: Is it over?
- 25:37[SPEAKER_00]: Are you here from behind you?
- 25:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, sir, it's done.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's done.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_01]: Probably he will just throw his shovel to the ground almost as if.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_01]: He realizes the violence he has just done with it and wants that no part of it.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_01]: And he'll turn back.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_00]: You guys eventually leave.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_00]: They adrenaline starts to fade a bit, and you start to feel this supernatural tug at your navel.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_00]: And the cavern dissolves into mist, and you are instantly transported back 50 miles south to the childhood clearing where it all began.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_00]: It's like you blink in the damp smell of the mine
- 26:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's the evening now, and you are standing exactly where you were as children in the center of the clearing, and because she was bound to this forest, Adelaide is standing right where you left her, but she is lying in the dirt.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_00]: Well, she's not lying in the dirt.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_00]: Rabbit rabbit is.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_02]: This day just keeps getting stranger.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_02]: Adelaide, you alright?
- 27:22[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, I'm fine.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_00]: I just feel bad for poor rabbit, rabbit.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_00]: He was fighting in his own way.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_00]: And he returned here.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's the end of him for the end of line for him.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_02]: Well, when I guess it's good that we have satisfied,
- 27:45[SPEAKER_02]: are end of the bargain with him before he passes on it.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_00]: As you say, that rabbit rabbit looks to you both and kind of in his dying breath.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_00]: You kept your word.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_00]: The doorway remains closed, and your debt is paid in full.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_00]: And rabbit rabbit bells is head and vanishes.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_00]: and suddenly this old destroyed clearing seems to stitch itself back together, fallen branches, fly backward into place, the rabbit stone reforms, and the fort that you built as children is exactly as it was, preserved perfectly in the Appalachian wooded forever.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_01]: That link.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_00]: She's still here, but she is looking at you both, and you can see her body sort of fading flickering as her time is coming close.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_00]: She looks at you both.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_00]: I thank you for saving me once again.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_02]: No thanks necessarily old friend, just a real downer we got to say goodbye to you in a second time and such a short amount of time.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_01]: You would see a little reluctant to approach Adelaide, but he will walk up to her with, oh, make an eye contact.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_01]: And you'll say, we were to walk through hell and back for you.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_01]: Adelaide, I'm sorry, it took us so long to set things straight.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: So, you made this world a better place, made me a better man.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_00]: And she walks her arm with yours and you could feel her headlight on your shoulder as you
- 30:04[SPEAKER_00]: She says, look at our fort here, it's just like it was before the dark god in.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's beautiful.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_00]: You boys did so good today.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_00]: You kept your promise to the rabbit, and you kept your promise to me.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I need you to promise me one last thing.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_00]: Would you?
- 30:27[SPEAKER_00]: Anything.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_02]: If it was anyone else I'd say no, but because it's you, absolutely.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let the dark catch you again, okay?
- 30:38[SPEAKER_01]: I don't plan for it, too.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_01]: Now, with two devils dead today, I think, can sleep a little easier.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_00]: I'll be waiting for you both, somewhere sunny.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_00]: And you see, your body finally start to fade.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_00]: As it's just you, too, in the forest.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_02]: I think this time she could file a B&P's my friend.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_01]: I hope she finds it.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_00]: And that brings our time in the woods to a close.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_00]: A massive thank you to our players Andrew Park as W.E.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_00]: and Michael Gilbert as Ezekiel Green.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_00]: My name is Maya, and I have been your gay master and narrator.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you so much for listening.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_00]: Take care of yourselves, family, and remember.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_00]: It's always best to leave them, go solo.
