- 0:00Speaker 1: I'll get our team. Welcome to another installment of the
- 0:02Speaker 1: Bloody You Project. It's Craig, Anthony Harper, Tiffany and Cook.
- 0:06Speaker 1: It's the phrases. We'll get to them in a moment.
- 0:09Speaker 1: But the world Traveler, the girl who's been globe trotting
- 0:15Speaker 1: for the last couple of weeks and just neglecting Fatty
- 0:17Speaker 1: Harps in the You projects selfishly all about her spiritual
- 0:21Speaker 1: journey and her quest in far away lands. It's back
- 0:25Speaker 1: kind tiff High Harps.
- 0:27Speaker 2: You know my biggest regret. I don't know if I
- 0:30Speaker 2: said a big enough goodbye because I'm different to the
- 0:33Speaker 2: person who left and she's never coming back.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Wow, what part of you have you left behind? This
- 0:41Speaker 1: is good. This is a philosophical start.
- 0:44Speaker 2: I left a lot behind.
- 0:46Speaker 3: You know.
- 0:46Speaker 2: We actually did a ritual where we burned what no
- 0:49Speaker 2: longer served us in a ritual on the mountain. We
- 0:52Speaker 2: left it on the mountain. Oh, I've got goosebumps as
- 0:55Speaker 2: I say.
- 0:55Speaker 1: That now without divulging, you know, any thing too personal,
- 1:01Speaker 1: But fuck it, We're all families, so divulge away. And
- 1:04Speaker 1: if you're uncomfortable sharing, still share because it makes for
- 1:07Speaker 1: a good podcast. What tell us maybe one thing that
- 1:14Speaker 1: you needed to let go of or stop doing or
- 1:18Speaker 1: fucking ditch out of your emotional, bloody bag of tricks.
- 1:22Speaker 2: I'll tell you too. I'll tell you two of the
- 1:24Speaker 2: things that I that I wrote down that I let
- 1:26Speaker 2: go on the mountain, and that was what Number one
- 1:28Speaker 2: was shame and number two was the need for everybody
- 1:34Speaker 2: else to believe in me. And I reckon they're too
- 1:38Speaker 2: that have really had a lot of impact on me.
- 1:40Speaker 2: It was quite crazy, you know, the moment just before
- 1:42Speaker 2: I did it. I didn't plan this, but I I
- 1:46Speaker 2: had a moment where I had gratitude for those things
- 1:50Speaker 2: and whatever their purpose was up until the point of going,
- 1:53Speaker 2: I don't need them anymore. So it was big goosebumps.
- 1:56Speaker 2: There was lots of tears for everybody.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Well, that's bloody amazing.
- 2:01Speaker 2: And I brought some of the mountain back with me
- 2:03Speaker 2: in my suitcase.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I saw a bit of a post. I don't
- 2:06Speaker 1: know that that's totally legal. I don't know that i'd
- 2:09Speaker 1: be putting that on public display. I'm not sure that
- 2:12Speaker 1: you're allowed to bring back organic material from the other
- 2:16Speaker 1: side of the world. I'm no bloody you know, international
- 2:19Speaker 1: whatever they are those blokes at those ladies at the airport.
- 2:22Speaker 1: But anyway, you and I are going to have a
- 2:25Speaker 1: big chat. We might do a whole episode and debrief
- 2:27Speaker 1: your trip and talk about you know, breaking down and
- 2:30Speaker 1: breaking through like breakups, breakdowns and breakthroughs, some of the
- 2:34Speaker 1: best breaks of all time. So let me introduce our guests.
- 2:38Speaker 1: So Jan and I and Fraser have been friends of
- 2:41Speaker 1: mine for a very long time. Well, I won't do
- 2:44Speaker 1: too much of an intro because you'll get to know
- 2:46Speaker 1: them as we talk. But some of you already know
- 2:49Speaker 1: them because one you we've got a lot of listeners
- 2:51Speaker 1: that listen to this that actually personally know them. Two
- 2:55Speaker 1: they've already been on the shows, but it was a
- 2:57Speaker 1: very long time ago. I'll find out minute, maybe four
- 3:00Speaker 1: or five years ago. But the rest of you are
- 3:03Speaker 1: going to meet them now. So I'm really happy to
- 3:05Speaker 1: welcome back to the podcast. We'll start with the chatty one,
- 3:08Speaker 1: the super chatty one. We'll start with Jan because otherwise
- 3:11Speaker 1: she'll talk over the top of Aean like the dominatrix
- 3:14Speaker 1: that she is. Hello, Jenny, Dot's forget all.
- 3:18Speaker 3: About me, because I'm far more interested in what Tiff
- 3:20Speaker 3: has to say. I think that sounded wonderful, Tiff.
- 3:23Speaker 4: I want to know what you're burnt, but I want
- 3:24Speaker 4: to know in detail. You've got to do it. You
- 3:27Speaker 4: want to do a podcast on that.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Gosh, yeah, she does. Well it's like I've seen, isn't
- 3:33Speaker 1: it interesting? Jenny? Hello, Hello, Ian. We'll say hello to
- 3:37Speaker 1: you mate before we bet.
- 3:38Speaker 5: I am here, I am here?
- 3:40Speaker 1: Yeah, well we know you're here now. You two hit
- 3:43Speaker 1: momentary fame the other day when we had coffee. Monday.
- 3:47Speaker 1: We're recording this Monday? Was it last Monday? We did
- 3:51Speaker 1: coffee Jenny Friday, Friday morning, Oh Friday, just gone, What
- 3:55Speaker 1: the fuck do I know? So three days ago. By
- 3:57Speaker 1: the way, this is a swearing podcast, so I feel
- 4:00Speaker 1: free to open the swearing door. There is no swear jar.
- 4:04Speaker 1: In fact, you have to put two bucks in and
- 4:05Speaker 1: if you don't swear through the podcast, it's something of
- 4:08Speaker 1: a different concept. But we met on Friday, that is correct,
- 4:12Speaker 1: Friday morning. We had a coffee and I had a
- 4:14Speaker 1: chat with you. If you don't follow me on Facebook, folks,
- 4:17Speaker 1: where you can either follow me or momentarily follow me,
- 4:20Speaker 1: go and have a look on my personal page. And
- 4:23Speaker 1: there's already seven over seven thousand people that have had
- 4:26Speaker 1: a bit of a squizz at Jan and E and
- 4:28Speaker 1: having a chat to me over the bloody morning coffee table,
- 4:32Speaker 1: and it was so interesting and I got I literally
- 4:35Speaker 1: got emails and messages and dms from people going, you've
- 4:38Speaker 1: got to get them on the show, and I went, well,
- 4:40Speaker 1: they've already been on the show, but we'll get them back.
- 4:43Speaker 1: What is it like to you, Jan, to think that
- 4:46Speaker 1: seven thousand plus people listen to you to chat like,
- 4:51Speaker 1: isn't it a weird age that we live in?
- 4:54Speaker 4: To tell me about it? I can't believe it. I
- 4:58Speaker 4: mean I was a bit concerned that. You know. Well,
- 5:03Speaker 4: when I saw my sister.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Later in the day, I said, look, we had coffee
- 5:06Speaker 3: with Craig Harper and look we had she said, oh god,
- 5:09Speaker 3: you're you're you know, you're a big sort of boring.
- 5:12Speaker 4: Is that all you talked about?
- 5:14Speaker 2: There?
- 5:14Speaker 4: You go?
- 5:15Speaker 3: I thought, you know, And then I got the text
- 5:17Speaker 3: from you telling me, you know, six five of all
- 5:20Speaker 3: I think it was only five thousand people at that
- 5:22Speaker 3: stage had tuned into.
- 5:24Speaker 4: Us, And I said, good grief, look at this goodness?
- 5:27Speaker 4: So yes, isn't it a weird age within within within.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Which we live, Jenny, when you grew up like you
- 5:37Speaker 1: and you and Frase everyone I call ian phrase, But
- 5:40Speaker 1: so if I if I forget to say, but you
- 5:43Speaker 1: and Frase grew up like you went to school in
- 5:45Speaker 1: the forties, right, the nineteen forties. Now we're in the
- 5:49Speaker 1: two thousand and twenties.
- 5:52Speaker 5: Right.
- 5:53Speaker 1: I'm not trying to throw you under the bus, but
- 5:54Speaker 1: you're both old as fuck. I think that's not a
- 5:57Speaker 1: state secret. Could you do you ever have imagined in
- 6:02Speaker 1: when you guys were teenagers what was going on in
- 6:05Speaker 1: the world that you would be like talking like even
- 6:09Speaker 1: now to a bloke that you can see and hear
- 6:11Speaker 1: on a computer. I mean, I could be in New York.
- 6:14Speaker 1: I happened to be in Hampton. But how crazy is
- 6:17Speaker 1: it that from where you came to what the world
- 6:20Speaker 1: is now?
- 6:22Speaker 3: I know, it really is quite unbelievable, isn't it.
- 6:28Speaker 4: Like I don't know whether like it's just an example.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Like I remember when my mother died and you know,
- 6:35Speaker 3: I did the eulogy, and you know, we were talking
- 6:37Speaker 3: about and I said, you know, she'd lived through the Depression,
- 6:40Speaker 3: she'd lived through tours.
- 6:43Speaker 4: Try to compare that.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Now with well wars of course, But just the example
- 6:49Speaker 3: of the technical of the technical age is technicological era
- 6:55Speaker 3: in which we live.
- 6:56Speaker 4: Like my friend Rosie lives in London.
- 7:00Speaker 3: I'm talking to her face timed her the other night,
- 7:03Speaker 3: like it's been chatting, like she's in the next doorhouse,
- 7:06Speaker 3: so I know exactly what you're saying.
- 7:08Speaker 4: It's extraordinary and I think, you know, I.
- 7:11Speaker 3: Can actually see you and tip and you know, I
- 7:14Speaker 3: think it's it is quite well.
- 7:20Speaker 4: I'd like to.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Think that I'm reasonably or literally say talk about blood
- 7:26Speaker 3: its And then we struggle to get onto the podcast today,
- 7:29Speaker 3: but generally we're all right, but put anything wrong, absolutely
- 7:36Speaker 3: cletely stuffed, like I look at them and think, well
- 7:39Speaker 3: that's it. I've got no idea. I've got no idea,
- 7:42Speaker 3: And then Ian will say, well fuck, do I know
- 7:44Speaker 3: you know that's what he usually says sometimes standard you know, so.
- 7:50Speaker 4: Yes, extraordinary.
- 7:53Speaker 1: What do you phrase? Can you tell us about? So
- 7:58Speaker 1: you're eighty six, she said the day when we did
- 8:00Speaker 1: our little video. So am I guessing you were born
- 8:05Speaker 1: in like what nineteen thirty seven or eight or something?
- 8:11Speaker 5: Thirty eight great nine thirty eight eight?
- 8:16Speaker 1: Could you tell us a little bit about growing up
- 8:20Speaker 1: in the late thirties and forties, Like, what do you
- 8:23Speaker 1: remember from your childhood?
- 8:27Speaker 6: Well, the first thing I can remember, you know, apart
- 8:32Speaker 6: from being in a pusher, and I can remember that,
- 8:36Speaker 6: you know, my parents taking us on the holidays. But
- 8:41Speaker 6: my everlasting memory around that time, around the time of
- 8:46Speaker 6: probably around nineteen forty two, forty one forty two, was
- 8:52Speaker 6: when the war had started, and how my parents were
- 8:57Speaker 6: billiting American marines. So we had all these Yanks, you know,
- 9:03Speaker 6: staying in the house, sleeping on the floor and sleeping
- 9:06Speaker 6: here and sleeping there. And the other thing I can
- 9:10Speaker 6: remember is we had blackouts because I think the fear
- 9:17Speaker 6: was that German planes were going to come over or
- 9:21Speaker 6: Japanese planes are going to come over and vomits. So
- 9:24Speaker 6: cars were driving around with their lights sort of didn't
- 9:26Speaker 6: and blacked out. Now that's probably hard for young people
- 9:31Speaker 6: today to sort of think back to that era, but
- 9:34Speaker 6: they were my first memories.
- 9:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Wow, do you remember what school was like? Praise? Do
- 9:43Speaker 1: you remember? Because you went to obviously school in the
- 9:46Speaker 1: forties and fifties, and I know that grade three was
- 9:49Speaker 1: the best four years of your life. But do you
- 9:51Speaker 1: remember do you remember going to school and what that
- 9:54Speaker 1: was like, because it's vastly different now.
- 9:58Speaker 5: Absolutely yeah, I didn't. Really.
- 10:02Speaker 6: I wasn't a good student, but I enjoyed going to
- 10:05Speaker 6: school because going to school met. I mean, you met
- 10:09Speaker 6: all your friends. You know, you could muck around and
- 10:13Speaker 6: you can do this, and we did a lot of
- 10:15Speaker 6: mucking around and gotten a lot of trouble. But I
- 10:18Speaker 6: suppose in retrospect, I did enjoy the school of years,
- 10:23Speaker 6: even though you know, I left school a four year
- 10:28Speaker 6: or a year.
- 10:29Speaker 5: Alone, so I didn't go on there. I enjoyed it.
- 10:35Speaker 5: I did.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Were you an academic, Jenny, Were you a little bit
- 10:39Speaker 1: more studious than your offsider?
- 10:43Speaker 5: Oh?
- 10:44Speaker 4: Look, I might have been.
- 10:45Speaker 3: I mean I grew up in an Irish Catholic family,
- 10:49Speaker 3: and I went to a Catholic school and Catholic high school.
- 10:55Speaker 4: I left school at.
- 10:59Speaker 3: When I was fifteen, going on sixteen in year ten,
- 11:02Speaker 3: which was then.
- 11:03Speaker 4: Like Form four for me, because my father said.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Well, girls don't need an education because they just get married,
- 11:10Speaker 3: so you know that's good, So my must've met. I
- 11:13Speaker 3: always did feel that after a while a bit sort
- 11:18Speaker 3: of left out, and that's how I went back to school.
- 11:21Speaker 4: I went back to school and did my VC when
- 11:24Speaker 4: I was forty.
- 11:25Speaker 3: Went to university, which was pretty terrific really for me then.
- 11:30Speaker 3: I mean, you know, I didn't really aim to go
- 11:32Speaker 3: to university. I just wanted to do Year twelve because
- 11:35Speaker 3: I needed to sort of think I had that under
- 11:38Speaker 3: my that I'm when I felt more confident. That sounds silly,
- 11:43Speaker 3: it doesn't it, But honestly, it was the best thing
- 11:45Speaker 3: I ever did. It was wonderful. I loved it.
- 11:49Speaker 1: How old were you when you did Year twelve?
- 11:53Speaker 4: Forty?
- 11:54Speaker 1: That's amazing? And so did you go to school, like
- 11:58Speaker 1: did you go and sit with a seventeen year old?
- 12:00Speaker 4: Or I went to No?
- 12:02Speaker 3: No, I went to adult education, right, and that was
- 12:06Speaker 3: just a class with people like me. Yeah, and then
- 12:10Speaker 3: a couple of us went on to university.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Wow, that's amazing. And what did you study at yunie?
- 12:16Speaker 4: I had an arts degree. I did art. I majored
- 12:18Speaker 4: in English and history.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Well you've always been a performer and something of a
- 12:25Speaker 1: thespian because you still do you still do voiceover work?
- 12:28Speaker 5: Or no?
- 12:28Speaker 3: Yes?
- 12:29Speaker 4: Yes? Yes, very available? Anytime? Got me think?
- 12:36Speaker 1: Yes? Could you could you do a bit of an
- 12:38Speaker 1: impromptu promo for the you project? Just anything that comes
- 12:42Speaker 1: to mind, and then you know, just send me the bill.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Oh well, I think there's one.
- 12:51Speaker 4: Uh there was, Oh dear, there was one of I've
- 12:54Speaker 4: got one coming on here, I think soon.
- 12:57Speaker 3: And the bust of the mirror because the young man
- 13:02Speaker 3: was wanting to buy a car or something.
- 13:04Speaker 4: Mirror, mirror on the wall, you know what one? And
- 13:07Speaker 4: I said, oh, dear, you know the room, the not
- 13:09Speaker 4: the room, the verse.
- 13:11Speaker 3: The verse needs work, dear, now what well you know, yes,
- 13:15Speaker 3: I suppose you could do that. It was that sort
- 13:18Speaker 3: of voice, like.
- 13:21Speaker 4: So I do. I do find that if not putting.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Myself in a home or doing aged care in some
- 13:28Speaker 3: form or other.
- 13:30Speaker 4: Characters. I've got quite a few good characters.
- 13:32Speaker 1: So I'm sure you do. I'm sure you do. And
- 13:36Speaker 1: when did you When was the first time you did
- 13:38Speaker 1: anything on Telly on Australia? What was it?
- 13:43Speaker 4: Nineteen sixty four?
- 13:46Speaker 1: Oh my god, I was one and I was one?
- 13:50Speaker 1: And what did you do in it? What did you get? Tiff?
- 13:54Speaker 1: Was just a thought, what did you do in nine
- 13:56Speaker 1: n sixty four on television?
- 13:59Speaker 4: I said, on in Melbourne tonight? Wow, Graham Kennedy is
- 14:04Speaker 4: in Melbourne tonight, Yes, wow?
- 14:06Speaker 1: And from first, if you wouldn't know this, but in
- 14:10Speaker 1: Melbourne tonight was probably the biggest show in well definitely
- 14:15Speaker 1: in Melbourne, in Victoria, and it was a what do
- 14:19Speaker 1: they call it, Jenny, Do they call it a variety show?
- 14:22Speaker 4: Yes, the variety Show.
- 14:23Speaker 3: And it was live and it went on at nine
- 14:27Speaker 3: thirty every night of Monday to Friday. And it was
- 14:31Speaker 3: headed up by a wonderful fellow called Graham Kennedy who
- 14:36Speaker 3: was just just brilliant, just brilliant. And you probably remember
- 14:41Speaker 3: Bert Newton, would you remember that night? Yeah, well Bert
- 14:44Speaker 3: just recently died. Well Bert was on that at the
- 14:48Speaker 3: same time. So Bert and I were a similar age
- 14:51Speaker 3: and we were well he'd started long before me because
- 14:55Speaker 3: he used to do a lot of radio.
- 14:56Speaker 4: But yeah, that's where I started. Nineteen sixty four.
- 14:59Speaker 3: I've got it a you know where it tells you,
- 15:01Speaker 3: you know that that's how long you've been in love,
- 15:03Speaker 3: you know, nineteen sixty.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Four, So you've been you've been in entertainment, like professionally
- 15:10Speaker 1: for this would be your sixtieth year, twenty twenty four. Yeah,
- 15:15Speaker 1: do you remember the song that you sang?
- 15:17Speaker 4: Oh?
- 15:18Speaker 3: I remember the very first song I sang was the
- 15:20Speaker 3: Trolley song. Judy Garland very much musical theater.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Am I cheek enough to ask for just one or
- 15:27Speaker 1: two lines?
- 15:28Speaker 4: Oh?
- 15:29Speaker 3: God, that's going a bit far in my high starched
- 15:33Speaker 3: collar and my high topped boots and my hair piled
- 15:37Speaker 3: high upon my head.
- 15:39Speaker 4: There you go.
- 15:42Speaker 1: I tell you what typ moment for me here? That
- 15:46Speaker 1: is so fucking good. If there's our promo, there's our promo.
- 15:52Speaker 1: I think we need a type song. I might have
- 15:55Speaker 1: to write a song, and we might need to get
- 15:58Speaker 1: Janders Yes a phrase phrase. I want to know what
- 16:02Speaker 1: was your first car and how much did you pay
- 16:06Speaker 1: for it?
- 16:08Speaker 6: First car was an MG at TC Wow. I wish
- 16:13Speaker 6: I still had it. It was black green interior. It
- 16:18Speaker 6: was a terrible thing to dry. Were the first MG
- 16:24Speaker 6: sports car that was built straight after the Second World War,
- 16:29Speaker 6: and they were sort of glued together with all sort
- 16:32Speaker 6: of bits and pieces, terrible breaks, terrible steering.
- 16:36Speaker 5: They're worth of fortune.
- 16:37Speaker 6: Now you know, a good one you'll pay probably seventy
- 16:41Speaker 6: eighty ninety grand for But that was my first car,
- 16:45Speaker 6: and I.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Remember you remember? Do you remember what you paid for it?
- 16:49Speaker 5: Yes?
- 16:49Speaker 6: I probably paid about I think it was two hundred
- 16:53Speaker 6: and twenty pounds from memory.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Was that second hand on you?
- 17:00Speaker 5: That was secondhand?
- 17:03Speaker 6: And that was when I was, when I just turned eighteen,
- 17:08Speaker 6: So what's that thirty eight fifty six? And of course
- 17:16Speaker 6: the cap breaking down? And in those days, you know,
- 17:21Speaker 6: all kids like my age, we all had cars and
- 17:25Speaker 6: they're all old bombs, but we all learned a lot
- 17:28Speaker 6: about mechanics, you know, how to fix things, because if
- 17:31Speaker 6: you didn't learn, you know, your car would break down
- 17:33Speaker 6: and you couldn't fix anything. We're fucking around with carburettors
- 17:37Speaker 6: and changing points in the distributor, and these days kids
- 17:41Speaker 6: wouldn't know what points and carburettors even are, changing wheels
- 17:45Speaker 6: and so you know, I had a lot of fun
- 17:49Speaker 6: out of that car.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm sure. And Jenny, do you remember, did you two?
- 17:56Speaker 1: Was the first house that you owned once you'd gotten married,
- 17:59Speaker 1: or did one of you by property before he got Well?
- 18:01Speaker 1: How old were you when you got married? And when
- 18:03Speaker 1: did you have your first when did you buy your
- 18:05Speaker 1: first time?
- 18:08Speaker 3: Well, it was in nineteen sixty seven and I was
- 18:12Speaker 3: twenty seven, and we didn't buy a house until nineteen
- 18:20Speaker 3: seventy three. So we lived in a flat up first
- 18:25Speaker 3: of all, and then we had this weird idea that
- 18:29Speaker 3: we were going to build a house, and we were
- 18:31Speaker 3: going to build it in Mount Eliza, and Ian worked in.
- 18:37Speaker 4: Where you Blackburn, and so.
- 18:40Speaker 3: We thought, oh, look we'll rent in Mount Eliza to
- 18:43Speaker 3: make sure that you know we're okay with it.
- 18:45Speaker 4: Thank god we did. So.
- 18:48Speaker 3: We didn't last very long in Mount Eliza and we
- 18:50Speaker 3: sold it sold at the block and we bought a
- 18:53Speaker 3: house then further into closer to town, into bo Morris.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Wow, can I be rude? How much did you pay
- 19:03Speaker 1: for your first house in nineteen seventy three?
- 19:05Speaker 4: Forty thousand dollars? And yeah, I mech it.
- 19:10Speaker 3: We've often talked about it, but I'm quite sant that
- 19:13Speaker 3: interest rape when were seventeen percent?
- 19:17Speaker 4: I was terrible, wasn't it?
- 19:18Speaker 5: There? It was?
- 19:20Speaker 1: I remember I moved to Tazzy when I was five
- 19:25Speaker 1: or six years old, son sixty eight, and Mum and
- 19:29Speaker 1: Dad bought a house in Linda's Barn on what was
- 19:33Speaker 1: then called Main Road. It's now called East Durwin Highway,
- 19:36Speaker 1: I think. And this house, which overlooked the Derwent River,
- 19:41Speaker 1: cost eleven thousand dollars and I thought, oh my, how
- 19:45Speaker 1: rich are we that we can buy a house for
- 19:49Speaker 1: I remember thinking I didn't really understand what even one
- 19:52Speaker 1: thousand dollars meant, but that our house cost eleven thousand dollars,
- 19:57Speaker 1: And I remember thinking, my Mum and dad, we must
- 20:00Speaker 1: be rich because look at what we're buying. Is it
- 20:04Speaker 1: like you think, what's that's a good dinner now? Eleven
- 20:07Speaker 1: thousand dollars? Just a few people? Well not really, but
- 20:11Speaker 1: not far from it?
- 20:14Speaker 5: Can I just interrupt there?
- 20:16Speaker 6: With the living in Matalizer, we decided early on that
- 20:21Speaker 6: we were going to buy a block of land and build,
- 20:24Speaker 6: and we did. We bought a three quarter two thirds
- 20:26Speaker 6: of an acre block, lovely block up at the top of.
- 20:29Speaker 5: The hill, got a house.
- 20:33Speaker 6: Designs didn't like the design, so I threw a friend
- 20:40Speaker 6: designed the place for a house myself. Didn't all work
- 20:44Speaker 6: out anyhow. I bought an old house because we decided
- 20:50Speaker 6: we'd use old timbers on old bricks. I bought a
- 20:55Speaker 6: house in Brighton. They were Reckon, which was made of
- 20:58Speaker 6: old what they called black Hawthor bricks, which are those
- 21:01Speaker 6: beautiful old brown black spots in them. See them around
- 21:06Speaker 6: the customer. But a lot of the brick companies have
- 21:08Speaker 6: tried to duplicate them. But the original ones are terrific. Anyhow,
- 21:11Speaker 6: I bought all these blocks. I had about twenty thousand bricks,
- 21:15Speaker 6: got them all moved down to a block a matallizer
- 21:19Speaker 6: sat there. We decided that it was too far and
- 21:24Speaker 6: we had to sell, so I had to get rid
- 21:26Speaker 6: of the bricks.
- 21:27Speaker 5: Didn't know what to do.
- 21:28Speaker 6: I was down at Portsy one day valuing a customer's
- 21:32Speaker 6: boat of the day. Went for a bit of a drive,
- 21:35Speaker 6: saw a block of land. Thought that's interesting. Bought the block,
- 21:39Speaker 6: shifted all of bricks down there, and built a house
- 21:44Speaker 6: in Portsy, which we had for thirty something years.
- 21:48Speaker 4: How much you pay for that block?
- 21:50Speaker 6: Then the block in Portsy? I think I paid. God,
- 21:55Speaker 6: I can't remember.
- 21:56Speaker 4: Jan isn't that interesting because it was wasn't much.
- 22:00Speaker 6: No, it was about four four thousand.
- 22:03Speaker 5: I think it's about four grand.
- 22:06Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that's what I'm thinking.
- 22:08Speaker 6: And we built this. I designed the house copy copying
- 22:14Speaker 6: a lot of a friend's house, and I subcontracted the
- 22:18Speaker 6: whole thing and used old timbers. We used the old
- 22:22Speaker 6: timbers out of the jam factory. In my businesses, I
- 22:25Speaker 6: had a Tony Wheel and was one of my clients
- 22:28Speaker 6: and in the w record wheel in the Wreckord and
- 22:31Speaker 6: I said to Tony, I said, look, I'm looking for
- 22:32Speaker 6: some big timber beams to use for the roof beams.
- 22:36Speaker 6: He said, oh yeah, I'll get back to you. And
- 22:39Speaker 6: I heard nothing. That about a month later he said, look,
- 22:42Speaker 6: we just wreckon parts of the jam factory and we've
- 22:45Speaker 6: got all these big eleven by four that's eleven inches
- 22:47Speaker 6: by four inches beams. You better get your trailer and
- 22:51Speaker 6: go there and grab them. So I did, and we
- 22:53Speaker 6: used those in the house. I bought the roof of
- 22:59Speaker 6: an old cat church in Richmond which had beautiful slate
- 23:04Speaker 6: on it, and I got all that slate and got
- 23:06Speaker 6: an old guy who was really an expert to lay
- 23:12Speaker 6: it all on the floor. So the whole floor of
- 23:14Speaker 6: the house it was. What I built, was on a
- 23:16Speaker 6: concrete slab and we used the slate to pay.
- 23:21Speaker 5: The whole house was fantastic.
- 23:24Speaker 6: So you know that that sort of all started at
- 23:28Speaker 6: the Mountaalizer Adventure.
- 23:32Speaker 1: That house a block of land in Portsy for four grand.
- 23:37Speaker 1: That's the locket, like it depends where it is, but
- 23:40Speaker 1: just a block of land is going to be a
- 23:42Speaker 1: million bucks or more down there. I want to you
- 23:46Speaker 1: went there.
- 23:46Speaker 5: I think you went there.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, no, I went there. I remember it
- 23:49Speaker 1: was beautiful. All right, Let's let's fast forward a little bit.
- 23:53Speaker 1: This is a dumb question, but it's not. It's kind
- 23:56Speaker 1: of so. It's my birthday the other day and I
- 24:00Speaker 1: turned sixty one, right, and I don't like for me.
- 24:04Speaker 1: It feels so strange to say that, because you know,
- 24:08Speaker 1: like this is another dumb thing. But I've only ever
- 24:11Speaker 1: been me, so I've never felt what it's like to
- 24:12Speaker 1: be anyone else, but like mentally, emotionally, physically, socially. I
- 24:18Speaker 1: don't know what I thought I would feel like at
- 24:20Speaker 1: sixty one, but I definitely I definitely don't feel my
- 24:24Speaker 1: age right. And that's not ego or anything. I just
- 24:27Speaker 1: don't know what I thought I would feel like at
- 24:30Speaker 1: sixty one. But I still feel like my brain is
- 24:32Speaker 1: the same as when I was forty, maybe even better.
- 24:35Speaker 1: I still have great energy, I still train every day.
- 24:37Speaker 1: I'm still excited about life. I'm still ambitious, I've still
- 24:41Speaker 1: got purpose, I've got heaps of shit to look forward to.
- 24:44Speaker 1: I'm grateful. What does it feel like? Let's start with you, Janny.
- 24:49Speaker 1: What does it feel like to be in your eighties? Like,
- 24:54Speaker 1: did you have any expectation, like do you. I know
- 24:58Speaker 1: it's just a number, but it's allo. I'm more than that.
- 25:00Speaker 1: It's a physiological reality of aging. How do you feel.
- 25:06Speaker 4: Good?
- 25:07Speaker 3: I mean I would say the same as you. I reckon,
- 25:11Speaker 3: I'm just as good as I always was, you know,
- 25:13Speaker 3: on the floor at Harper's there and bluff puff right,
- 25:17Speaker 3: I reckon, I can still do it, do it.
- 25:19Speaker 4: Although the knees creak a bit, but that's that's nothing. No,
- 25:25Speaker 4: I agree with you.
- 25:26Speaker 3: It's I don't know that I would feel that I
- 25:31Speaker 3: feel any different. I mean, I mean, I still, you know,
- 25:34Speaker 3: love life. I'm still get excited. I'm still probably a
- 25:38Speaker 3: bit ambitious and would love to do more voice.
- 25:42Speaker 4: You know, they all look at her and you know,
- 25:43Speaker 4: think god, you know, she's been around for so long.
- 25:46Speaker 3: But then I never think about that, you know, I think,
- 25:48Speaker 3: well I could have done that, you know.
- 25:51Speaker 1: So I feel like you, yeah, do you Now? I
- 25:57Speaker 1: just want to talk a little bit about the workout stuff,
- 26:01Speaker 1: because obviously I'm me, and so everyone knows my background
- 26:04Speaker 1: and everyone knows I'm kind of the exercise bloke. Call
- 26:07Speaker 1: that's part of who I am. Anyway, and we did
- 26:10Speaker 1: talk about it on the video the other day, but
- 26:14Speaker 1: rays we spoke about the fact that let's talk about you.
- 26:18Speaker 1: So you do when you can, you do when the
- 26:20Speaker 1: weather's right. You do stand up paddle board twice a week.
- 26:24Speaker 1: You do five and a half CA's stand up paddle
- 26:27Speaker 1: board twice a week to the You ride your bike.
- 26:32Speaker 1: You get out on your bike for about three quarters
- 26:34Speaker 1: an hour several times a week, and you go to
- 26:36Speaker 1: the gym and you split your body. You train up
- 26:39Speaker 1: a body one day and lower body than next. Did
- 26:42Speaker 1: I miss anything out.
- 26:45Speaker 6: No, I think that's pretty much it, Craig, that's the
- 26:49Speaker 6: exercise Rosime.
- 26:51Speaker 1: And I remember in the old days, not even that,
- 26:55Speaker 1: even when you're in your mid seventies. I remember one
- 26:57Speaker 1: day you're doing lap pool down with nearly one hundred
- 27:01Speaker 1: kilos and you were seventy four or seventy five and
- 27:05Speaker 1: you were lifting almost one hundred kilos or maybe even
- 27:09Speaker 1: one hundred. How much can you lap pull down these days?
- 27:12Speaker 1: At eighty six?
- 27:15Speaker 6: I was doing them yesterday. Actually, I think I was
- 27:20Speaker 6: using about seventy that's seventy that's amazing.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Can you still do chin ups?
- 27:27Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 27:27Speaker 6: Yeahs. Chune ups have always been my favorite. I can
- 27:31Speaker 6: do I do twenty six chins. I do a dozen
- 27:36Speaker 6: and then I have a wrist. I do eight, and
- 27:39Speaker 6: I have a wrist, and then I can do another six.
- 27:43Speaker 5: You do hang on, hang on, hang on now, I'm
- 27:46Speaker 5: not kidding you.
- 27:48Speaker 3: No, I know you don't think I've seen you a
- 27:52Speaker 3: film of him doing them in the Danny Frawley gym.
- 27:57Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah, one of you when.
- 27:58Speaker 4: I said, well, he's the old block of a eighty
- 28:00Speaker 4: something he's doing.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Yeah, well you got me covered. That's fucking embarrassing. I'm
- 28:03Speaker 1: going to have to go to room of mirrors and
- 28:05Speaker 1: have a good hard look at myself.
- 28:07Speaker 4: I shouldn't have men it tif you better cut that better?
- 28:10Speaker 1: Yeah, No, let's just for my self esteem otherwise on that. Yeah,
- 28:15Speaker 1: so you are still on your first set of chin ups?
- 28:19Speaker 1: You do twelve, mate.
- 28:22Speaker 6: I can do twelve, it look to be honest. The
- 28:24Speaker 6: last couple, you know, I struggle a bit. No, I
- 28:27Speaker 6: don't get the bar of the chin. You know, probably
- 28:29Speaker 6: get it to before we're head or something like that,
- 28:32Speaker 6: but you know it is a chin.
- 28:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 28:36Speaker 1: I was going to invite you in for a workout,
- 28:38Speaker 1: but you can stay the fuck away with your twelve chins.
- 28:43Speaker 6: Well, I'm struggling at the moment because I heard my shoulder.
- 28:46Speaker 6: When I was screing in New Zealand back in August,
- 28:48Speaker 6: I had a bit of a I've stuffed up my
- 28:52Speaker 6: left shoulder, so I hadn't done chins and I just
- 28:56Speaker 6: I thought yesterday I better have a bit of a try.
- 28:59Speaker 6: So I got half a dozen out and it started
- 29:01Speaker 6: to hurt a bit, so I thought I'd better stop.
- 29:04Speaker 1: You might look after that. And also, when you're riding
- 29:08Speaker 1: out on the road, are you riding a mountain bike,
- 29:10Speaker 1: you're riding a road bike. What are you riding now?
- 29:13Speaker 6: I ride a mountain bike, Craig. And you know, as
- 29:16Speaker 6: I said, I don't go out for long. I said
- 29:18Speaker 6: three quarts of earlier the day I was out for
- 29:20Speaker 6: million hour a day.
- 29:21Speaker 5: Actually, but.
- 29:23Speaker 6: I haven't met up in the hills for a while.
- 29:26Speaker 6: When I say we're a couple of mates and a
- 29:29Speaker 6: son Jonathan, we're very keen mountain bike riders up in
- 29:33Speaker 6: the hills.
- 29:34Speaker 5: And in Melbourne you've got Listerfield Park, which is from here.
- 29:39Speaker 6: It's only three quarters of an hour away and that's
- 29:41Speaker 6: where they had the Commonwealth mountain Bike competition. So there's
- 29:46Speaker 6: still a course there that they used, which is quite challenging.
- 29:51Speaker 6: So you know, that's that's a real workout on the
- 29:54Speaker 6: mountain bike up there.
- 29:57Speaker 1: I can only imagine, and I will the imagine because
- 30:00Speaker 1: I'm not going up there, Janny, can I tell you?
- 30:04Speaker 6: Sorry Cratis, let me interrupt. One day I was talking
- 30:07Speaker 6: to the crab Viking and he said, oh, I'd like
- 30:11Speaker 6: to he'd been writing down at his property and I
- 30:15Speaker 6: was talking abouts. I said, well, why don't you come up?
- 30:17Speaker 6: And he came up with us and we rode around,
- 30:21Speaker 6: and I must admit I did boot him on the hills.
- 30:26Speaker 6: He was even struggling on some of those steep hills,
- 30:30Speaker 6: which was embarrassing.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Sorry interrupted, That is noted, that's fucking He has told
- 30:36Speaker 1: me that story with great humility and respect for you. Yeah. Yeah, no,
- 30:43Speaker 1: he told me, Well, the crab, of course, everyone is
- 30:45Speaker 1: my training partner, who is a was a world class
- 30:49Speaker 1: professional bodybuilder, also quite fit, but not in the end
- 30:53Speaker 1: Fraser category. Janny, we spoke about it the other day.
- 30:56Speaker 1: But just tell my listeners who didn't hear, which would
- 30:58Speaker 1: be most of them, what your exercise regime looks like
- 31:03Speaker 1: these days? Please?
- 31:06Speaker 3: Well, I do, I do like to lift weights. So
- 31:10Speaker 3: I always think that's very important in our lives, particularly
- 31:13Speaker 3: as we get older. So I do that three times
- 31:17Speaker 3: a week. I train with a friend one day and
- 31:20Speaker 3: I go to the gym another two times. And I
- 31:23Speaker 3: also I do a boxing still. I love to box
- 31:28Speaker 3: with them step tives of box the two I love
- 31:33Speaker 3: I love It, I love it and one about harvest
- 31:36Speaker 3: trainers Silvio Knata. I still box with Silk and I
- 31:40Speaker 3: don't run anymore, but I like to.
- 31:42Speaker 4: I do do a lot of walking.
- 31:44Speaker 3: And we've got a dog, so you know, Peg and
- 31:45Speaker 3: I do a lot of walking together, and she's old
- 31:48Speaker 3: enough now to do the rams and stairs with me,
- 31:50Speaker 3: and we go a doun lucky to be near the beach,
- 31:53Speaker 3: and of course it's a fabulous training ground, as you know,
- 31:55Speaker 3: you know, doing a bit of sand walking, doing a
- 31:57Speaker 3: bit of uphill on the ramps.
- 31:59Speaker 4: And you know, getting your heart rate up.
- 32:01Speaker 3: So that's that's a very important part of what I
- 32:05Speaker 3: do as well. But so like and you know, I
- 32:07Speaker 3: usually try to do something every day. I might have
- 32:10Speaker 3: a day off, but you know, I've usually got usually
- 32:13Speaker 3: do something every day.
- 32:15Speaker 1: And what I haven't mentioned this episode anyway, is that
- 32:19Speaker 1: a long, long time ago. You were a client at Harper's,
- 32:22Speaker 1: coming in Harpers being my one of my gyms or
- 32:24Speaker 1: my gym's back in the day.
- 32:25Speaker 4: Everyone your budge of trainers and I love five dollars.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Yeah really with the day budget.
- 32:32Speaker 4: Trainer five bucks. It was each of us.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Yep, really, yes, yes, a good thing. I don't know
- 32:40Speaker 1: if I knew that.
- 32:42Speaker 4: You stopped us. I think we then we used to.
- 32:45Speaker 3: We used to start off in the gym do emb
- 32:47Speaker 3: down in Hampton Street.
- 32:50Speaker 4: Eighty eight.
- 32:51Speaker 1: Are you talking about groups right? It was a group, yes,
- 32:55Speaker 1: oh yeah group. Yeah, yeah, I'm thinking cheapest. But but
- 33:00Speaker 1: at one stage I can't remember when you probably can
- 33:03Speaker 1: better than me. But I think you and I had
- 33:05Speaker 1: a conversation and you said something like I wish I
- 33:09Speaker 1: was or if I was younger, I would have become
- 33:11Speaker 1: a trainer, and you were in your fifties maybe at
- 33:13Speaker 1: that stage. And then did I say, we'll go and
- 33:17Speaker 1: get qualified and then you can work work with me.
- 33:20Speaker 1: Did it go something like that?
- 33:22Speaker 3: It went very similarly, yes, yes, yes, yes, And I
- 33:27Speaker 3: came to you and said, look, I've done all the
- 33:30Speaker 3: training now and I just wonder if you'd mind if
- 33:33Speaker 3: I did my work experience here and that was in
- 33:36Speaker 3: Bluff Road, and God, I loved it, loved it, loved it,
- 33:40Speaker 3: loved your training, loved it the whole thing.
- 33:43Speaker 4: The whole thing. I loved it all and never looked back.
- 33:47Speaker 3: Really with great moved in at Then I became a trainer,
- 33:51Speaker 3: a proper trainer. Then I had a client and said,
- 33:54Speaker 3: do you think I can bring I've got a client.
- 33:56Speaker 3: I've got a friend who'd liked to train. Is that
- 33:58Speaker 3: all right if I bring her? And you said, yeah, yeah,
- 34:00Speaker 3: that's fine, you bring her along.
- 34:02Speaker 1: At what age did you start training people professionally at
- 34:06Speaker 1: the first time, I was fifty Craig, Oh wow, I
- 34:12Speaker 1: thought you were a little bit older. But that's amazing still.
- 34:14Speaker 1: So if you're out there and you're thinking I might
- 34:18Speaker 1: become a trainer, I might become anything, and I might.
- 34:20Speaker 1: You know, Jenny did Year twelve at forty, she did,
- 34:25Speaker 1: she did UNI after that, she became a trainer in
- 34:28Speaker 1: her fifties. And when did you stop training people? Because
- 34:31Speaker 1: it wasn't that long ago.
- 34:33Speaker 4: Well, only COVID.
- 34:38Speaker 3: Stopped us all in our tracks, really, but i'd actually
- 34:42Speaker 3: I was actually just training a few people are there
- 34:45Speaker 3: in their homes then, so actually I'd actually sort of
- 34:49Speaker 3: gone off from the gym floor, so I wasn't sort
- 34:52Speaker 3: of training. And then I gave all my clients to
- 34:55Speaker 3: a friend, and then I just the few that I
- 35:00Speaker 3: could help at home. You know that's worked well, you
- 35:04Speaker 3: know until you know COVID hitch and sort of stopped
- 35:08Speaker 3: to fit things really didn't it well?
- 35:10Speaker 1: I did put the brakes on a lot of things
- 35:12Speaker 1: going on in the world I want to talk to
- 35:14Speaker 1: you about. So in the health wellness space, now this
- 35:21Speaker 1: is not new, but it's just becoming more known. I
- 35:24Speaker 1: think like there's a lot more awareness around the idea
- 35:29Speaker 1: of like when we used to talk about what makes
- 35:32Speaker 1: people healthy, wo'd go, you know, good food, exercise, not
- 35:35Speaker 1: too much booze, you know, a sleep, like, a good lifestyle,
- 35:40Speaker 1: all that, And now we know that like social connection, belonging,
- 35:47Speaker 1: having purpose, having a reason, all these things that are
- 35:51Speaker 1: not you know, food, exercise, booze related, but more about
- 35:58Speaker 1: emotion and psychology. Am I love? Do I have connection?
- 36:01Speaker 1: Do I belong to a group? Does anyone give a
- 36:03Speaker 1: fuck about me? Do I have something to do today that?
- 36:07Speaker 1: Do I have something of value and purpose to do?
- 36:11Speaker 1: Tell me about your thoughts either one of you around,
- 36:15Speaker 1: because I know you are both very busy and you
- 36:18Speaker 1: have great social lives and you're still ticking boxes and
- 36:22Speaker 1: achieving things and have a focus.
- 36:25Speaker 3: We have three kids who are really the nastest people
- 36:29Speaker 3: you could ever wish to meet, and then they're in
- 36:33Speaker 3: turn married with families, so we have a really great
- 36:38Speaker 3: relationship with the family, with our grandchildren and you know,
- 36:44Speaker 3: with the partners, etc. So I do think that's sort
- 36:48Speaker 3: of a starting point for us, because that's.
- 36:50Speaker 4: Really very important.
- 36:51Speaker 3: We just seem to have that wonderful connection kids coming
- 36:54Speaker 3: in and out, kids coming to stay, grandchildren coming to
- 36:57Speaker 3: stay or something. But you know, that's that's very important.
- 37:02Speaker 3: But then on the other hand, then it's the sort
- 37:04Speaker 3: of the other connection, and we've we are lucky. We've
- 37:07Speaker 3: got a lovely group of friends and that you know
- 37:11Speaker 3: that we see you know, we still have people for
- 37:13Speaker 3: dinner or we go there, or you know, we meet
- 37:15Speaker 3: out do you.
- 37:16Speaker 4: Know, meets people for lunch or something.
- 37:18Speaker 3: And I've got a lot of lovely group of friends
- 37:21Speaker 3: that I girlfriends, you know, that that I walk with
- 37:24Speaker 3: or that I have coffee with. And it's look wonderful.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Love it what about you, old fella, have you got
- 37:32Speaker 1: any you I think you just seem busy just doing
- 37:36Speaker 1: shit all the time.
- 37:37Speaker 6: Well, I think over the years, exercises probably almost dominated
- 37:43Speaker 6: my life. I can remember, you know, in the early
- 37:47Speaker 6: days of the Surf Club, you know, going back when
- 37:52Speaker 6: I was eighteen twenty five, you know, I used to
- 37:56Speaker 6: do a favorite of running. And then when I when
- 37:59Speaker 6: I have the various business businesses, I'd always put aside
- 38:06Speaker 6: probably an hour a day or close to it to exercise.
- 38:11Speaker 6: I just say to the staff, look, I'm going for
- 38:14Speaker 6: a run. We had we had our business was out
- 38:17Speaker 6: in Blackburn on stage, I'd run around the Blackburn Lake
- 38:21Speaker 6: and the s and then when we were down at
- 38:24Speaker 6: the Pattison River, you know, I'd run down to the
- 38:27Speaker 6: beach and run along the beach. So I would always
- 38:31Speaker 6: put aside some time to exercise and think. And I
- 38:36Speaker 6: still do that. How can I fit something in today?
- 38:42Speaker 6: What's on today? Look at the diary? When can I
- 38:46Speaker 6: have time.
- 38:46Speaker 5: To go to the gym, go for a bike ride?
- 38:48Speaker 6: Do there? So I think that's that's been very important
- 38:52Speaker 6: in my life.
- 38:54Speaker 1: And You've always been very handy phrase which has been
- 38:58Speaker 1: handy for some of the Harpest stuff. When something breaks
- 39:02Speaker 1: at your house, are you the guy that Are you
- 39:05Speaker 1: still the guy that fixes it?
- 39:07Speaker 5: Yeah? Absolutely, yeah, I really am.
- 39:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:09Speaker 6: I can fix most things except electrical. I won't touch
- 39:13Speaker 6: anything electrical for obvious reasons. But you know, charging tests
- 39:18Speaker 6: and washes and all that sort of stuff. And you know,
- 39:22Speaker 6: jenneal often say something is not working or broken. I
- 39:26Speaker 6: can usually fix it.
- 39:29Speaker 1: Now, Jenny, I know you love training with Silvio, who
- 39:34Speaker 1: also used to be a Harperst trainer, and you do
- 39:37Speaker 1: some boxing, but Tiff up there. Not only does Tiff
- 39:40Speaker 1: do a bit of boxing, but Tiff is actually a
- 39:42Speaker 1: boxer and has fought in the ring lots of Can
- 39:45Speaker 1: you see that picture behind her of the boxer on
- 39:48Speaker 1: the hole, Yeah we can, that's herrilous I reckon you
- 39:56Speaker 1: two girls might have to get together, just you know,
- 39:59Speaker 1: just a one just cheating behind your trainers back and
- 40:02Speaker 1: do a session with Tiff Tiff, could we?
- 40:06Speaker 4: I'd love that?
- 40:08Speaker 2: Well. I was already gonna ask you to come and
- 40:09Speaker 2: hang out and have coffee with me because I feel
- 40:12Speaker 2: envious that Harps and you guys caught up recently.
- 40:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I think we.
- 40:18Speaker 3: If you promise to tell me about what you're burnt
- 40:20Speaker 3: on the mountain. Yeah, I'd love it.
- 40:22Speaker 4: Lock it in, lock it.
- 40:24Speaker 1: In, yeah, yeah, that would be good. Hey, well, we
- 40:30Speaker 1: appreciate you too. I so love catching up with you,
- 40:33Speaker 1: love having you in my life, even though we don't
- 40:35Speaker 1: spend enough time together. Thanks for the coffee the other
- 40:41Speaker 1: day and the chat. And it's funny how I don't
- 40:44Speaker 1: think you realize because you're so both grounded, down to
- 40:49Speaker 1: earth humble. You know, people are so inspired by you,
- 40:53Speaker 1: and I know you don't feel inspirational because it's just
- 40:56Speaker 1: you just doing what you do, but without sounding cliche
- 41:02Speaker 1: or too self helpy. You are really an inspiration because
- 41:07Speaker 1: you know most people. Firstly, most people don't. This sounds bad,
- 41:11Speaker 1: but it's just true. The average life expectancy is younger
- 41:15Speaker 1: than both of you, like I think for women it's
- 41:17Speaker 1: eighty two in Australia and minutes like eighty. And you
- 41:20Speaker 1: guys look like you're going to be going strong for
- 41:22Speaker 1: another twenty years. So it's so inspirational. And you know,
- 41:26Speaker 1: thanks for coming to chat with us on the You Project, Jenny,
- 41:29Speaker 1: And do you want to leave our listeners with any
- 41:32Speaker 1: words of I don't know, inspiration or insight.
- 41:36Speaker 3: Can I just say that thank you for those kind words.
- 41:41Speaker 3: That's that's really lovely. But I don't want anybody to
- 41:46Speaker 3: out there to think that we're smug or that you know,
- 41:49Speaker 3: we think that we're better than anybody else. I tell you, okay,
- 41:55Speaker 3: and every day is a new day.
- 41:59Speaker 4: You just story?
- 42:00Speaker 1: Can you just can you just start again from just
- 42:02Speaker 1: because it cut out, so just go back to I
- 42:05Speaker 1: tell you like I tell you ye.
- 42:09Speaker 3: Well, I just wanted to say that I didn't want
- 42:12Speaker 3: any of your people listening to think that we're pains
- 42:16Speaker 3: in the art or a bit smug and you know
- 42:18Speaker 3: that we're we're up ourselves at all, because really that's
- 42:23Speaker 3: not so. We we treasure every day. We know that
- 42:27Speaker 3: we're getting to the pointy end, and and you know
- 42:30Speaker 3: we we we're very aware of that, and each day
- 42:34Speaker 3: is a new day and we treasure that new day.
- 42:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 42:39Speaker 1: I love that. What about you, you old bugger? Are
- 42:42Speaker 1: you just going to go and fix something now?
- 42:47Speaker 4: Probably go.
- 42:48Speaker 6: I'd just like to say anyone that is listening to
- 42:51Speaker 6: this podcast, if you know you you aren't happy with
- 42:56Speaker 6: your your business, or your diet or your life regime,
- 43:04Speaker 6: it's pretty easy to fix, really, is people sort of
- 43:10Speaker 6: over complicate things, I think. But all you've got to
- 43:11Speaker 6: do is is either a healthy diet, do some exercise.
- 43:16Speaker 5: You don't have to be your maniac about it. For
- 43:18Speaker 5: a walk.
- 43:20Speaker 6: And you know it's so easy, Craig, and you know
- 43:24Speaker 6: so many people they put all the excuses up, you know,
- 43:30Speaker 6: I haven't got time and I'm too busy and you
- 43:33Speaker 6: know whatever, and do something about it.
- 43:38Speaker 1: Here it is the fucking boom. There's the primo right there.
- 43:44Speaker 1: We'll say goodbye off there but for the moment. Jan
- 43:47Speaker 1: Andy and Tips, thanks for coming on the EU project.
