zero episode twenty, which is called Wilhelm von Austraia. Yeah, so it's

probably about him or something. The episode titles are starting to get less good

Anyway. Remember they were gonna fight the White Way Out at the end

of the last episode that was happening. Okay, good, you remember now,

So we don't begin this episode where we ended the last one actually,

which is unusual for REE zero. We are instead in a field like of

rubble, like during the day somewhere, and this guy is like walking down

the road, just some guy. And then he takes out his sword because

he's got a sword, and he's like alone in the ruin of like what

looks like a village, like he's in kind of like an area that looks
3:05
like maybe it was a house at one point, and he raises his sword
3:07
over his head and he's about to bring it down. I guess he's practicing,

and he kind of looks over and he sees a red haired woman and
3:17
he stops what he's doing, kind of surprised, and she's just sitting like
3:23
on the wall, like maybe a foundation wall that used to be part of
3:28
the house, with her back to him so she can't see him. Basically,

I'm sure she noticed that he was there because he's like doing things,

but whatever. So then he says, I haven't seen you before. What's

a woman doing here so early in the morning. I don't even know what
3:45
that's supposed to mean. And then she turns to face him and she thinks

for a second, and she's like, don't worry about it, just come

over here, and so he walks over to her and sees that what she

has been looking at on the outside of the house wall is a little like

field or like patch of yellow flowers, like those yellow flowers from the last

episode, Remember when Wilhelm was thinking about his wife or whatever. I think,

so it's a pretty good chance that this is Wilhelm, so we're gonna

just start calling him that. So then the wind blows and like the petals

are going everywhere, because you forgot for a second that this is anime,

so of course they are. And the girl says, hey, do you

like flowers? And her hair is blowing in the breeze, and he looks

kind of shocked by the question for some reason, and then his face kind
4:36
of fades out and we fade back into current day Wilhelm So, okay,

so that was who that was in the past, when he was like a

young human person. And then we pick up where we left off last episode.

So everybody is following after Subru and rem because remember they are going to

distract the white whale, and then they like fire these light cannons at the

whale. I guess they look like maybe like laser cannon light cannon things,

and it like explodes around the whale maybe, and then ROMs like, okay,

they're gonna fire the night banish or close your eyes, and Suber closes
5:15
his eyes and then they fire a light thing and it like goes up in

the sky and then it lights up the whole sky, and Suber's like,

wow, it's just like everyone said, incredible, So he's not covering his

eyes anymore, I guess, and it like lights up the sky enough that
5:33
it basically looks like it's kind of daytime now basically, So the whale like

squints, but then reopens his eyes and looks around and he makes like a
5:44
really big whale noise, but like it's a shockwave, and like dirt kicks

up everywhere, and then after a minute, things kind of settle down and

clear, and we finally get a good view of the white whale and it

has a horn, so maybe it's a narwal of some sort, and like

some magic red symbol is like floating above it or something like looks like a

seal or I don't know what kind of magic symbols there are. Guys,

and then we see like really up close and it looks like maybe it has

some sort of fur on it, but from far away it just looks like
6:17
a whale, not like a furry whale, but it is furry anyway.

Suber is looking at it in horror and he's like, that's the white whale.

Jeez, dude, you've seen it a couple of times. And then

we see Willhelm like, look at the white whale, and then we go

to the opening theme. Oh my god, the opening theme. Back from

the opening theme, Suber is looking at the whale and he's like, it's

so huge. It's really big, and Ram asks him if he's scared,

and he's like, yeah, I'm scared, scared of the blinding bright future

where I'm praised for defeating it. Great cover Subaru and he says, now

run like hell, and they take off on their ground dragon and the white

whale starts chasing them, and Suber is like, it's fast, and then

all of a sudden, it gets cut, like a big cut goes on

the whale, and I guess Suber looks back to see like what hit it,

and Crush says, you've greatly underestimated us looking away so carelessly, I

assume she's talking to the whale and rem explains to us and Subaru that Krush

is using the Intangible sword, which is a sword that doesn't have a range,

and it's like her sword art and it's famous for its one hundred man

strike. That is such a cheat. You can't have a sword that has

no range, like you just like what no, no, But we need

it, I guess. And the white whale cries out in pain and his

face is bleeding now, and then those like light cannons start hitting it again

and it looks really hurt, and it like starts to come at them and

crushes like disperse, and then they all disperse. Then Wilhelm goes straight towards

the why and he like dismounts his dragon like right in the whale's path,

and he's like, for fourteen years, I've dreamed of nothing, but this

day that's a lot of dreaming. And the white whale screams and it's like

coming at him, and he's like running, and when it's coming at him,

it's like mouth is open and it's like tearing apart the ground. Like

it seems like a really bad thing for it to do because it's got a
8:24
hurt because the ground is hard, but it's like kind of pushing itself into
8:28
the ground, like coming right at him, if that makes sense. And

they start switching back and forth between Wilhelm and the whale approaching him, like

Wilhelm's determined face and the whale and Wilhelm's determined face in the whale, and

they must do this like ten times. And honestly, this was not good.

I did not like this. You know, sometimes you don't notice when

things are done to save money or save animation time. This is one of

them that I noticed right away, and I did laugh here. It was

not great, but that's okay. It's still a ten's scene. So anyway,

Wilhelm thinks of the past again and that girl for a second, and

he's like, you are nothing but a monster, and then he like yells

and he jumps into the air and he comes down on the whale's head because

remember he's really big, and he plunges his sword right into the whale,

and then white whale like kind of panics and he starts like flying really weird

and like bleeding because he's hurt. And Wilhelm then like runs along his body,

the whale's body that is cutting him like a big slash and like screaming

the whole way and that's mean, and Wilhelm's like, how wonderfully cooperative of

you? And Wilhelm's like, how wonderfully cooperative of you coming here to be
9:43
slain and he stabs him again and again and again, and then the whale
9:50
finally gets tired of it and it flings him off, and he's like falling
9:54
because the whale, you know, flies and stuff. And I think,

like superu and rem like get to him with the round dragon and like grab

him. But it's actually really hard to tell. I replayed this area a

couple of times because I couldn't understand what was happening, and I really just

think that they left it up to your imagination, like we see super mun

Ram coming and then kind of like going away, like maybe there's a couple

of seconds that are missing here. I don't know, but he's fine,

so whatever. And then Ricardo, that wolf thing riding the wolf rides up

and he's like, don't look away from us, idiot, and then Ricardo

like cuts him right in the teeth and then like the rest of the Hoshin
10:39
Mercenary group shows up and Mimi is like, here we go, and Hitaro

says everyone now, and then they like slash at it. And then Crush

is like, troops, get back, and she slashes right in the middle

of the whale, like right through the center of its body, and then

she's like fire it. It's flank, and all of a sudden there were

these mages and they're like, make fire and they shout algoa and they fire

it at the whale and it explodes everywhere, and everyone's like cheering and stuff,

or some people are at least, and Suber's like, looks like that

was pretty effective. I think we can pull this off. And Rahm's like,

no, truthfully, we had hoped that that attack would ground it.

Super says, it's not losing altitude at all, and Ricardo's like, we

used all of our best attacks right from the get go. If that didn't
11:35
make it fall, it's a lot tougher than we thought. And Suber's like,
11:39
the magic attacks didn't work, and rem says, it's white hair scatters
11:43
manna and disperses force. My magic wasn't as effective as it appeared either,

Okay, so it does have hair and cruisees like fire, and then they're
11:54
like fire and the light cannons again, and Ricardo says, it's time for
11:58
this campaign hack away. It's reserve power. I'm not sure what that means,

and he and the mercenary group take off and they jump onto the white
12:09
whale, who I'm feeling really bad for at this point, and they like
12:11
start attacking it obviously, but like the whale is just hanging out there in
12:16
the sky getting hurt, and it just feels sad, like I don't want
12:20
to see this whale get all cut up. But anyway, Super says,

you know, acting as a decoy now would be a hindrance, so all
12:28
we can do is watch until it makes a move, and Felix approaches them
12:33
and says, I feel as irritated as you do. I don't even have
12:37
any attacks, so like, all I can do is watch anyway, and
12:39
Suber says, but with your healing specialty, you're our lifeline. Just fulfill

that role for us. We're counting on you, and Felix looks a little
12:48
surprised and he's like, you really changed in just a day, Huh what
12:52
happened? And Suber says, if I had to say, I've just become
12:58
a slightly bitter man. And then Ram kind of cuts them off, and

it's like will Helm is and they all look and Wilhelm is running and cutting

and screaming again on the whale. And then Wilhelm like jumps and he like
13:11
stabs the whale's eyeball and it like screams and Wilhelm falls, but he lands
13:18
on Ricardo's sword somehow, because Ricardo is just on the ground, and Ricardo
13:24
like pushes him back up with his sword. I guess, so he like
13:31
jumps back up onto the whale. I don't think any of that's possible because
13:35
the whale is in the sky, but okay, But anyway, Wilhelm screams
13:41
and he hits the whale right above the eye that he's just punctured, and
13:46
then he like carves around the eye and the eye just falls out, and
13:50
then it lands on the ground with Willhelm on top of it, and he
13:56
spears the eye and he holds it up to the whale so the whale can
14:01
see his eye. Oh my god, and Wilhelm says miserable, like that's
14:11
terrible, that poor whale. Now he only has one eye, and all
14:18
he's done so far is fly around in the sky and try to eat Wilhelm
14:22
that one time. That's not that bad, and I don't know his eye
14:28
is so big and it just fell out and anyways, then some guy is
14:35
like what's that, and everyone's like talking and they're like something's odd, like
14:39
what's going on? And all of a sudden, the whale's eye that is
14:43
still attached to its head turns from like a yellowy orange to red, not
14:50
like bloodshot red, like maybe it's entering a new stage in the battle.

I don't know how eyes work. And then all of a sudden, it
14:58
opens these things on its bodies, like vents or gills on the side of
15:03
it, and it screams. It's like a really loud and it hurts everybody's
15:09
ears. It's like some sort of sonic warfare. And everybody's covering their ears
15:13
pretty much, except for like Wilhelm and like Crush, who obviously are still
15:18
in pain, but they're trying to save face, I guess. And then
15:22
all of a sudden, out of those vents that it opened, mist starts
15:26
to come out and it fills the sky. So now it's not like blue
15:31
and bright anymore, and then we returned to the scene from the past and
15:37
Wilhelm is practicing with his sword in that same area that they were last time,
15:43
and the girl asks him if he's grown to like flowers and he says,
15:46
no, I hate them great, and the girl like pouts and she's
15:52
like, why do you wield that sword and Wilhelm says, because it's all
15:56
I have, all right. Then we go back to the present and Wilhelm

and Subru are looking up at the sky and Suberu thinks it disappeared, and

REM's like, we're gonna move hang on, and then they take off running
16:11
on the ground dragon and we hear crush from somewhere in the fog say troops
16:15
retreat, and then there's a lot of screaming, like lots of screaming,
16:19
and Suber's like, whoa, whoa, whoa, And then we hear whale
16:25
noises from in the fog and lots of screaming like all around and we can't
16:29
see anyone still, and then like there's a fog blast that Suberu and Rem
16:33
like have to avoid, and Suber's like, that's what the magic fog looks
16:38
like. If that hit us, and then Krusche cuts through the fog like
16:45
literally with her sword like cuts it, and so now we can see Krush
16:48
and her troops, and Cruse says, how many men did we lose?
16:52
And one guy is like twelve from my unit. We're three short now,
16:59
and Crush says who was lost, and the guy's like, I don't know,

and then another guy's like fourteen from mine one deserted. That would be
17:07
me, by the way, and then another guy says, I'm missing six.

I'm really sorry, and so then Suweru thinks about like when he was

in the other loop with the merchants and that guy disappeared that was next to
17:18
him, but no one remembered him, and then you know, Otto saying
17:23
like, who's rem and he thinks, I get it now, people hit
17:29
by the white whales fog vanished from existence along with any memories of them,
17:33
and then out loud, he says, a fog of elimination. Okay,
17:37
no, we gotta pause there for a second, because this is probably my
17:41
least favorite inconsistency of this show, maybe the only one that I really caught
17:45
and hate. You can't have it both ways. So in the loop where
17:52
rem was lost because I guess she was killed by the white whale and nobody
17:56
remembered her. No one remembered her, I mean except for Super. But

Super is different for some reason, and that's fine with me. It's okay

with me that he remembers all this stuff but no one else does. He's
18:06
got a lot of weird things going on with him. But what I'm saying
18:10
is, in that loop, no one remembered her. No one remembered that
18:14
she existed at all. Otto didn't remember her being there. Otto didn't remember
18:18
anyone else writing on the opposite side of them when that guy disappeared, like
18:23
there's no memory, Like they're wiped, wiped from existence. You know,

Ram didn't remember ever having another maid at all. So it's not like these
18:34
people are like, ah, I remember somebody, but like I don't know
18:37
who they were, but they're gone now. No. But in this loop,

when we are losing these soldiers, they remember that people have been lost,
18:48
but they don't remember who they were. That doesn't work. No,

it's one way or the other. Realistically, if this actually worked the way

that they're saying that it worked in you know, with rem and everything the

leftover like the rest of this army force would not even remember that they lost

people, Like no one would know that the whale could basically knock people out

of existence because no one would remember them. So, you know, they'd

go into battle and they think that, you know, the guy who lost
19:22
twelve from his unit, like let's say there were twenty four, so he
19:26
lost half of his people, he would think he only had twelve to begin
19:29
with, and that there wasn't a rest of the force, you know.

So what I'm saying is it's one way or the other. Guys, you

can't lose people, but remember that you lost people. So it pisses me
19:41
off. And now you know, and I'm sorry, So I hope that

made sense. But anyway, then Krush looks to the side and she's like,

oh, you're back, And Willhelm and the Hoshin Mercenary team walk up

because they weren't there, and Willhelm says, forgive my haste damages, and

Crush says, a total of twenty one lost. It appears a whole platoon

was wiped out. No, you couldn't know that, cruseh but whatever,

it won't even be possible to properly protect the honor of the lost, and
20:14
then one of the captains is like, I'm so sorry, and then Wilhelm
20:18
is thinking of that girl, saying why do you wield that sword? And
20:25
we hear, you know, young Wilhelm say, because I could not think
20:29
of any other way to protect and then current Wilhelm like grips his sword sheath
20:34
like really tightly, and Cruse says, now that it's in the fog,
20:38
we won't know from whence it will attack. Staying close is the worst thing
20:42
we could do. Disperse immediately, and then the whale shrieks from somewhere in
20:48
the fog, but like it makes a really high pitched shriek, like higher
20:52
pitch than it's been making, I guess because everybody's confused by it, and
20:56
Crush is like, what's that? And everyone starts holding their ears and stuff,

and Suber's like, is that the white whale? It probably is,
21:04
considering that's what you're battling. And then this guy starts like screaming and he
21:10
like falls off his dragon. He's like laying on the ground in agony,
21:15
and Subru like gets off the ground dragon and he runs over and asks the
21:18
guy if he's okay. Good. Subro but he's not, and he starts
21:22
clawing at his face. The guy starts clawing at his face, not Suber's
21:25
face, and then we see that like lots of the soldiers are like laying
21:30
on the ground and like writhing and foaming at the mouth and like clawing themselves
21:33
and banging their heads on the ground, you know, like all the usual
21:37
things that you do. And Suber looks to Rem and we see that she
21:42
is shaking and she has her hand on her head. Obviously she's in pain
21:47
too, and Suber's like, hey, Rem, and Rum's like that voice
21:51
in the fog which is directly attacking our minds, similar to men of sickness,
21:55
but much worse. And so suberu is looking around and you know,
21:57
some people are on the ground, some people aren't, and he's like some
22:02
people can resist it and some can'ts I don't feel anything, and then Ram
22:07
kind of like calms down, and she's like it's okay, it will calm
22:10
now. And then that guy who's been clawing his face and stuff starts like
22:15
really really screaming again, and Suber runs back over and he's like, hey,
22:19
enough, stop it, and he's like trying to get this guy to
22:22
stop clawing his face, and the guy like pushes him away and cruises like
22:27
Felix, have the unaffected help them, and Suber is still trying to control
22:32
this guy and like make him stop hurting himself. And he's like, they
22:34
say, hurting people is harder on an army than killing them, but what
22:37
monster does that? And Felix tells Subrou to move and then he uses his
22:45
like healing light on the guy and the guy calms down, and Suber thinks,
22:49
I guess Felix can remove the effects of the fog contamination. And he
22:52
looks around and he's like, but there isn't enough time if it comes for
22:56
us. Now we're finished, And Suber stands and he grabs his chest and

takes a deep breath and he says, cruche, I'll buy you some time.

Have everyone regroup, and crushes like what And Subro runs back to the
23:11
ground Dragon and saysm I'm sorry, but I need you to accompany me to
23:15
the most dangerous place here. And he gets on the ground dragon and rem
23:18
smiles and is like, of course anywhere, and Krush's trying to tell him,
23:25
like, wait, Subro, this fog and Subaru cuts her off and
23:27
is like, anyone who can hear me, cover your ears. If you
23:32
can't, just stay where you are. And then he closes his eyes and
23:37
he says, I'll return by death to and there's a flash and then black
23:42
smoke gathers around him and over his right shoulder we see a partial face of
23:49
a woman and she's saying something that we can't hear. And then it's over
23:55
and Suber has tears in his eyes and he's like, I'm back, Well,
23:57
rem do I smell like the witch? And Rom Is like, yeah,

you wreak and Super says, that's what I wanted, But did you
24:06
have to say it that way? And Cruise is like, those who can
24:10
move get the injury to the foot of the tree, will have to use
24:12
a bit of force. And Suber says, with the Ogrum it was effective
24:18
enough to cover the whole forest, will it do this time? Honestly,
24:22
it's an unknown quantity And Rum's like, no, it's working. And then
24:27
the white whale starts coming up behind them, maybe like they feel it in
24:30
the fog, and like it looks like to us that it's coming up behind
24:33
them in the fog, and Suber looks back but instead its mouth opens right
24:40
in front of them, and rem makes like a big ic thing, and
24:44
it like stabs the white whale in the chin enough to kind of pry him
24:48
to the side so they can get past him. And Suber's like how,
24:52
I don't know why he said how, And then he looks to the side
24:56
and its giant eyes right next to them, the one that's in his head,
25:00
and Sueru grimaces, and then he like looks up and Wilhelm is coming
25:06
out of the sky, like it's falling out of the sky, and he
25:08
like stabs the whale, and then those like little mercenary twins appear and they
25:15
do like a scream attack at the whale, like they scream and like power
25:19
comes out of their mouth or something. And then Mimi's like captain, and
25:23
Ricardo's like, I got this, and he runs along the whale, slicing
25:26
it with his sword the way that Wilhelm did, because I guess that's how
25:30
we hurt him. And then he like slices the smoke pours of the whale,
25:36
maybe to stop it, and the whale like screams, and Suber's like
25:40
ram and they speed up and the white whale opens more of its smoke pours,
25:45
and it's like closing in on them now, and then Wilhelm is like
25:51
looking away from me. How unfriendly, and after I spend these last fourteen
25:55
years utterly mad for you, And he stabs the whale and he jumps to
25:59
where Ricardo is, and Ricardo's like, this is starting to get fun.

It's more sturdy than I expected. But it's not really that strong, really,

And Wilhelm's like, no, it's actually putting up a lot less of
26:10
a fight than it should. I find it hard to believe this is the
26:12
mobbies that got the better of my wife. The fact that we even got
26:17
the jump on it, and it didn't use its fog to divide our forces
26:19
from the start with. And then the white whale starts to fly straight up
26:26
and they both fall. That's a good time for me to say that I
26:29
am glad that they pointed this out, because the whale has done almost nothing
26:32
this whole time, and I was thinking, really, this is the white
26:33
whale then everybody is afraid of. So it is for some reason not doing
26:41
as much as it would usually do. Maybe he's pregnant, Maybe it decided
26:44
it doesn't like killing humans. Anymore who knows, But anyway, it starts
26:48
to fly straight up. They both fall because they were standing on it.

And while Wilhelm is falling past the whale, he's like, I'll take one
26:56
more thing before I leave, and he like cuts off it's back Finn,

and the Finn falls to the ground and he manages to land on his dragon,

this poor whale and suberu and rem like right over and Wilhelm's like,

be alert, we don't know whence it will come. And Suber is like
27:14
looking around and they're all like riding now, but it's like really really quiet.

They're just riding through the fog, and then they eventually come to a

stop and Ricardo's like, what's wrong. It ain't gonna follow. If I

was the whale, I would just leave because I lost my eye, I
27:29
lost my fin. Guy, I've been all cut up, so I would
27:33
I'd be god. But anyway, Subrou is looking around really nervously because he
27:37
doesn't think it's over. And then Wilhelm's like it comes, and suber looks
27:42
up and that like magic fog is shooting down straight for them, and they
27:48
all managed to dodge, but Wilhelm is thrown from his dragon and he lands
27:52
okay, like he's not hurt or anything, but he's on the ground and
27:56
he kind of comes to a stop near one of those yellow flowers, and
28:00
Suber is like run and Wilhelm realizes that the whale is right behind him.

It's chomping up the ground as it approaches, and he turns and shock and
28:10
then we hear that girl say, hey, have you grown to like flowers?

And we enter that flashback again and the girl's like, what is it?

And Wilhelm says, there was talk of a conferral I became a knight
