- 0:04[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to Three Yards Perkati, a podcast covering the Miami Dolphins and the NFL.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: Now, here's your host, Chris, Alf, and Simon.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_03]: We're on and this is three hours for carrying one for it.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_03]: I think I got Simon Clancy is here with me.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_03]: Chris Kaufman is here with me and it's a new season.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_03]: Today is our NFL preview.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_03]: We do this every single year.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_03]: We've managed to hit the Super Bowl participants a couple of times, but it's really easy because all you gotta do is just say Kansas City Chiefs into the microphone and you're usually right.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_03]: Last year I believe one of us did have that matchup.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_03]: Was it you Simon?
- 0:44[SPEAKER_03]: Had chiefs eagles I believe or did you build eagles?
- 0:48[SPEAKER_03]: I'm having bills eagles.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I know I had the rave yet.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_03]: We're void picking the chiefs at all costs and they keep showing up here.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_01]: So we got to we got to find the tape.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I'm not sold.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_05]: I'm not sold.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_05]: That's right, but I'll take it.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we got to look, I got to look for it.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_03]: It's there from last year.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_03]: As always, this show is a sponsored show.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_03]: And we'd like to welcome three new sponsors back to the show.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_03]: Underdog fantasy, you'll be hearing them in the middle of the show.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_03]: and a factor who will begin with us beginning next week once the game starts and this is our title sponsor for every single show at the beginning of the show and that's three oh five eight hundred pain just like the dolphins kick off the season you need to be ready to after an accident your first move should be calling three oh five eight hundred pain
- 1:42[SPEAKER_03]: better business bureau accredited with an A plus rating your car accident personal injury specialist fast connection with trusted doctors and attorneys always ready to take your call twenty four seven again that's three oh five eight hundred pain three oh five eight hundred pain
- 2:01[SPEAKER_03]: It's funny I said, pain because at the end of this show, we will predict dolphins went total.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_03]: But let's start here with the AFC Simon.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_03]: Anything you have to say for the AFC East, I'll go first.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_03]: I'll make a brief.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think there's going to be any change from next year.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_03]: Last year, dolphins finished second.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_03]: I think the Patriots finish.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_03]: They might jump in front of the jets this year.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_03]: I think they're a year away from being actually good if Drake may as anything.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_03]: I think the jets might be in serious trouble.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_03]: for this season, which means that Miami will be in serious trouble next season, because maybe the jets are going to get one of those great quarterbacks that are coming out in this year's draft.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_03]: So any thoughts for this division?
- 2:41[SPEAKER_03]: It's the bills division.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_03]: I don't see how anybody challenges them.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_03]: The schedule softens up as the season moves on.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_03]: They play a lot of their best games at home.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_03]: It's, you know, the road is paved for the bills to win their sixth AFC's division crown in a row.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_03]: Your thoughts Simon.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's the it's the bill's division.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, we may as well just pass just hand it to them now.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_05]: I think the pages will be better.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_05]: I think Drake may will be better.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_05]: You've got to look at the quality of Traveon Henderson and some of the guys that Milton Williams I think was a great pick-up.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_05]: I just wonder about their depth, the kind of across the roster a little bit like ours.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_05]: I think they got some the drop-off from starter to back up at the majority of positions is pretty significant.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_05]: I think they've got the best or the second best or a pure man cover corner in the NFL and Christian Gonzalez in terms of
- 3:33[SPEAKER_05]: literally following a guy around the field, nobody does it better than so tan, and then it's Gonzalo's, but he's just not as healthy as you'd like him to be.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_05]: And even now, kind of coming into the season, not a hundred percent sure when it'll start week one.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_05]: So, um, but yeah, I think it's Buffalo's Buffalo's division, and we go from there.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_05]: Chris.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think this one's pretty pretty easy.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it is Buffalo's division.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a little bit, I'm a little bit hazy on how it works out with bottom three, but that's just because it looks like the bottom three are, you know, it should normally be a bottom three and a four per team division is I guess is what I'm saying.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: But how it's going to shake out between the jets, the dolphins and
- 4:15[SPEAKER_01]: And the Patriots is really anybody's guess that I think that from a talent perspective, the dolphins do still have the edge, but we have ever reason to be very wary of to as health and of the dolphin's depth.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, that can play out so many different ways and particularly when your coaches in the fourth year and people are starting to question a little bit and the seed is starting to get hot.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: He is, I think he is the odds on favor and the NFL right now for first-head coach to be dismissed in twenty twenty five.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_01]: When that happens, what happens during the season is very path dependent.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_01]: If you start winning, you're fine.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: If you start losing, then things will lose even more because things start blowing up.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_01]: And so, so the how the dolphin started out is going to be really key in that one if they start out pretty well then I'll believe dolphin's second and and New England third and jet's fourth but but if the dolphins have a rough start then I will go with actually the New England second the New York jet's third and the dolphins last.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, the bills, dominance in the AFC East can only be challenged by this team in the AFC West.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_03]: A lot of people are trying to do that thing that they try to do every year, try to be first, try to be original and say that the Broncos are ready to take that mantle.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_03]: I think this division is actually pretty good.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_03]: I think there's some talented teams.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_03]: Nobody talks about the Raiders.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_03]: Look at that Raider roster up and down.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_03]: It's not a great roster, but if they wouldn't nine games, would you be surprised?
- 5:50[SPEAKER_03]: I would not be surprised.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_03]: But I will not do that thing.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_03]: Chiefs will win this division again for me.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_03]: You could really just, I don't know, throw a dart and you could get the order for two, three and four, but Chiefs continue their dominance and get another home game to open the playoffs.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_03]: You thought Simon AFC West.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I think the chief's offense will be really good this season.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_05]: I think the Broncos are a solid outside pick and one of those kind of teams that could make a run because I think the defense is unbelievable.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_05]: I think it's the best defense in the league.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_05]: I think it's probably the best secondary in the league.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_05]: And it'll a lot of it depends on the shoulders of the bonus.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_05]: Obviously, you know, second year call it back in terms of
- 6:31[SPEAKER_05]: what he does, what he can do.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_05]: But to me, I think, yeah, obviously, the chiefs, the charges, the biggest question about the charges is, is the same question, are they good enough?
- 6:43[SPEAKER_05]: Are they tough enough?
- 6:44[SPEAKER_05]: Is Justin Herbert enough mentally?
- 6:48[SPEAKER_05]: As much as anything else, physical tools are off the scale.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_05]: And then, the raiders will be interesting in just in terms of, you know, great head coach, the rookie running back at Ginoznessy would call it lag.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_05]: They don't have the depth.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_05]: They've got some tools.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_05]: They've got some players to hurt people, but I think Broncos charges wild card teams potentially.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_05]: I think the Broncos could be a really good team, but it's hard to pass the Chiefs.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_05]: Chris.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, for me, this is pretty straightforward.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_01]: I do understand the sexiness of trying to be first and on Denver on the upswing, and I get that.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: You can't have anybody above Kansas City in this division at this moment.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: Clearly Denver deserves a second bill like the one in that division.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that the the chargers are probably coming third and I don't know what sort of drums you're on about the Las Vegas Raiders because now that that is about a team that I would forecast to do well.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_03]: All right, moving on to the AFC North.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_03]: I think Pete Roosevelt never envisioned that we would just get on a podcast for four years after he thought all of these divisions up.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_03]: And we would just say that the same three teams will be at the top of the AFC, but I think that the same three teams will be at the top of the AFC.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_03]: I think the Ravens are going to repeat once again in the AFC North.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_03]: Browns are tragic, they're not very good.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_03]: Bengals have half a team.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_03]: That first half of the team, which is the offense, is spectacular.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_03]: But that second half of the team is what hurts them.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_03]: I think I saw a stat, which was insane to me, where Joe Burrow played four games last year, where he threw an excess of three hundred and fifty yards and had a passerating of over a hundred and ten, and did not turn it over, and they lost all four games.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_03]: which is insane to me.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_03]: I think that repeats itself.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't mean that they're gonna be bad.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_03]: It just means that they can't win the division.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_03]: So I got the Ravens.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_03]: In first, Bengal Steelers is gonna be razor thin, but I think both of them will have nine wins, which won't be even close to challenge the Ravens.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_03]: I think the Ravens have the best roster in football.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_03]: I think they have the best team in football.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_03]: So I guess I'm forecasting where I'm gonna go with this at the end of this podcast.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_03]: Your thoughts Simon, the AFC North.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I think the Ravens win it, but I love the Bengals.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_05]: I think they've got so many good players, especially in our friends and you know, just scoring.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_05]: I think they've got for me, no, I really asked for me.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_05]: They've got the best score back in the NFL.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_05]: In Joe Barrow and I do like, you know, the opportunity is there for the got a series of young players now on defense that
- 9:31[SPEAKER_05]: Mars Murphy and Dimitris Knight and DJ Turner and Dax Hill and Shamar Stewart and Joseph Asai and Barrett Carter.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_05]: These guys now need to step up.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_05]: Some of these guys now need to start making plays and helping out the Trey Hendrickson and the BJ Hills.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_05]: And the Logan Wilson's, you know, that's what they've got to find on that side of the ball.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_05]: And also to protect Joe Barrow, you know, that those guys at front have got to protect him, Dylan Fairchild comes in.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_05]: But, you know, Amiris Mims has got to take the next step, all I know, Brown obviously, you know, has got to return to form.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_05]: I think the Steelers would be third, they kind of gone out all on nothing, you're a bit like years ago and we signed everybody in, you know, atkins and all those kind of guys.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_05]: It just depends on our roaches and our roaches is health, but to me it's Ravens and mingles of the class and then the stateless could, you know, could be in the mix depending on how our roaches place Chris.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_01]: I just saw this, you know, just just as we're starting the podcast, but I think that the Ravens and Lamar Jackson have gone
- 10:32[SPEAKER_01]: fifty-two straight games it is something like that not having been outscored by more than a touchdown I thought which which was you know it's very striking of a statistic to me so I I retweeted it it said Lamar Jackson has gone fifty-two straight starts without losing by more than seven points including the playoffs which is the longest QB straight since at least nineteen fifty
- 10:58[SPEAKER_01]: And that is amazing.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: I think the Baltimore Ravens deserve, deserve to be ahead of that division.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not just because of Lamar Jackson, they have a very strong roster as Alpha alluded to.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: I actually do like the Pittsburgh Steelers for second place in this division.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_01]: I think that, yes, it does hinge on Aaron Rogers, but I think that it's going to be a lot like the Brett Farf thing where Brett Farf goes to the Jets and it really sucks.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: and then he goes off to the Minnesota Vikings and it's fine and it's good and I think that Rogers might have won the left in him, you know, at the I think he kind of showed it at the end toward the end of the year, especially when he played us in the UK team.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_01]: I think that the Steelers could actually come out, you know, wouldn't be surprised that they're really battling with Baltimore for the top of that division.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_01]: And it goes, it goes toe to toe for a little bit.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_01]: I have the Cincinnati Bengals in third for many of the reasons I've said about the questionable, you know, one side of nature of the their roster and then the Cleveland Browns.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying to figure out whether they even expect to win any games this year.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't think they do, but then again, sometimes they look like they might be sort of trying, but then not really.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's really tough to call.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, for whatever reason, the Browns always play the Bengals extremely tough.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_03]: I think Joe Burrow has not won in Cleveland in four years or something like that.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_03]: There's something going around there.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_03]: And it would seem to take one from the students, but they're going to be bad.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_03]: They're just going to be bad.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_03]: AFC South, this is the worst division in football, I feel.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_03]: Man, it's just setting up for the Texans just to waltz once again into the playoffs and get a home game in the first round.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_03]: Jagwards have an interesting roster.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_03]: I think the problem with that team is the quarterback.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think the court, you could replace that quarterback with many others and give them that offensive roster and feel pretty good about it.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_03]: Especially that offensive line that they spent tons of money on and draft fix for the last three years.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_03]: Titans are far away.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_03]: That that roster's kind of devoid of top-end talent.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_03]: Cam Ward is going to be fun to watch.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, it's the Texans and with not a large win total.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_03]: Call it ten wins and the division title.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_03]: I got the Texans your thoughts Simon.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I think it takes us all bounce back as well because I didn't have any great season last year.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_05]: Again, another team with some really good young players when you look at obviously guys at Will Anderson, Ari on tier three.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_05]: He's been apparently really good in camp and in preseason.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_05]: You've got Jayden Higgins that we'll see if it comes out of elastital.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_05]: It's like a pro ball in the future.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_05]: Obviously, Derek Stingley.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_05]: a great corner and then, you know, the other three teams are probably the bottom ten or twelve teams of the league.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_05]: I'm interested to see what Liam Cohen does and how he tries to fix that Jaguar's team.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_05]: But beyond that, the rest of the division, as you say, is a mess.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the top building for Houston, obviously.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to go with the first second place though.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_01]: I, you know, from any of the, it just, it just strikes me as a similar, a potentially similar situation as the commanders with, with Cam Ward coming in as the quarterback of the Titans.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: This is a huge unknown.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_01]: And when this situation is a very unknown at the quarterback, that's when you get the most upside versus everybody's projections.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, yes, we can do roster projections of the titans.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_01]: They are bad.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_01]: They have been bad.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_01]: They've been struggling.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_01]: Losing makes everybody look worse.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_01]: probably than everybody, then what they really are.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_01]: So if they actually did get a spark from Cam Ward, and I think he is capable because he's such a good playmaker, he is capable of providing that spark.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: If they do get a good spark from him, then we could be looking at many of the players on the roster in a very different light than we are right now.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: Right now, there's no denying that the NFL does not really respect the roster.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_01]: But I think I would put them I'm going to put them second and I'm going to say it because I think that Jacksonville probably deserves it's third billing and I just really do not like the Indianapolis Colts and we'll give it to that later this week, but but I think they're last.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_03]: All right, we're going to break and when we come back, we will talk about the NFC, but
- 15:30[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome underdog to the show.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_03]: Football is back and underdog is the best place to make picks and win money all season long.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_03]: Playing on underdog is easy.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_03]: Just pick whether your favorite players will go higher or lower.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_03]: On stats like touchdowns or saving yards, interceptions and more.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_03]: Get your picks right and you can win up to five thousand times your cash.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_03]: You can play with as little as one dollar.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_03]: One of my favorite ones is always to a tongue of a lot rushing yards.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_03]: Not that we want to running all over the place.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_03]: But you could go higher on two and a half yards and two inches has to get you three yards and you score.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_03]: So put that one in your back pocket.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_03]: Down on the app today, the underdog app today and sign up with the promo code three yards to score fifty dollars in bonus funds when you play your first five dollars.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_03]: That's the promo code three yards.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_03]: The number three yards.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_03]: Moves of fans have already won billions making picks on Underdog will you be next?
- 16:23[SPEAKER_03]: Underdog make picks win money must be eighteen plus twenty one plus in Massachusetts and Arizona nineteen plus in Colorado for some games nineteen plus in Alabama New England and present in a state where underdog fantasy operates turns apply void in Colorado
- 16:35[SPEAKER_03]: Concern with your play, call one eight hundred gambler or visit www.ncpgambling.org.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_03]: In Arizona, call one eight hundred next step, one eight hundred six three nine eight seven eight three or text next step to five three three four two.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_03]: In New York, call the twenty four seven, hope line at one eight seven seven eight hope and why or text hope and why two four six seven three six nine.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_03]: And now for the rest of our sponsors.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_04]: I'm Jalen Phillips and you're listening to three yards precarious.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_03]: and we are back.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_03]: Simon, do you know how long it's been since we've had a repeat champion of the NFC East?
- 17:14[SPEAKER_03]: Divide that by five and you got it.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_03]: It's been twenty-one years.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_03]: Wow.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_03]: So that means that we're supposed to have a new one this year.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_03]: And I know it's sexy to say commanders.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_03]: I wanted to say the cowboys, but they're self emulating.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know what the hell they're doing over there.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_03]: They traded the best defensive player in football.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_03]: And I understand not paying him, and I've said many times, I can't see myself paying a difference of player quarterback money.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_03]: And then paying him quarterback prices and trade, I don't think the cowboys can overtake the Eagles.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_03]: It's tempting to just say, yeah, yeah, the Eagles are going to do it again.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_03]: They're going to be the first team to repeat in twenty one years, but I'm just going to keep it going and say that the commander's wins division, chatting Daniels is brilliant.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_03]: I think that defense is actually pretty good.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think it doesn't deserve the reputation it's gotten in some circles.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_03]: I think that they're talented.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_03]: I think that team's good.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_03]: And I think the commanders will overtake the Eagles.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_03]: The Eagles always managed to have these, these laws, these hangovers.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_03]: They did after their last Super Bowl appearance.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_03]: They fell apart down the stretch.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_03]: They almost mirrored the Dolphins in twenty twenty three.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_03]: They actually lost gain for gain with the Dolphins until the point where they were on the road in Tampa and lost the Tampa Bay.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_03]: While Miami did the same exact thing and lost in Kansas City.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_03]: I think the Eagles take the step back, but the step back will just be merely into the six or seven seed in the playoffs.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_03]: I want to give the commanders a division and the streak makes it to twenty-two years.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_03]: Your thoughts, Simon?
- 18:57[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I disagree.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_05]: I think Eagles will win comfortably, and I think the command is where we the team that takes the
- 19:03[SPEAKER_05]: The step about I think they're actually really old.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_05]: Generally look at the roster, Austin Eccler, Debo Samuel, Zach Urts, you know, even offence, they're old guys.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_05]: And then the defense are just like the front four darlings Armstrong, Darron Payne, Javon, Kinlord, Dietrich Wise.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_05]: I don't love, you know, obviously joining unions a good player, but, you know, the lineback is Bobby Wagner, Von Miller.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_05]: you know, and then they're, you know, Martian Latimo, and then they're very young.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_05]: Try any of us at one corner.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_05]: Mike, you sound was still who played well last year at the nickel, but yeah, that's a young team.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_05]: I don't like their running game very much.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_05]: I don't think they've got explosive, you know, I think they lost the explosives on offense that they had last year.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_05]: So yeah, I think the commanders will take a step back.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_05]: I think the Cowboys and the Jarts will bat the out for being the bottom dwellers.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_05]: I don't like the Cowboys.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_05]: I don't, I think the Bradshaw on Hannah Higher is
- 19:55[SPEAKER_05]: was a really bad one.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_05]: I think trading my capacitance was one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard for a team that claims that it wants to win and whether they're setting up for archmaning over the next couple years then that's the sort of thing that you'd expect Jerry Jones to do.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_05]: But I'm interested to see what the giants do.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_05]: They've got a lot of young talent on that team and a lot of talent that people don't necessarily know a great deal about because the giants just haven't been
- 20:20[SPEAKER_05]: You know, a nationally prominent team over the last, you know, however many years, I mean, when was the last time the charts were particularly relevant.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_05]: But actually, I think, you know, you look at some of their players, you look at some of their talent.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_05]: Russell's obviously got a play, but, you know, Malik Neighbors can make it one day, Robinson, healthy.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_05]: You know, Andrew Thomas is the best tackle in the league that most fans around the league don't really know.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_05]: And then defensively, Dexter Lawrence, a top ten, top fifteen player.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_05]: In the league, Abdul Qaeda are in Brian Burns and Bobby O'Koreak is a good player and cave on Tiberdown.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_05]: Paul's in the day, but obviously we know Juwan Holland, they're one of the best nickel-backs in the league in Andrew Phillips.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_05]: So, you know, I think that's the team that's getting better and better marks and bow on offense.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_05]: It's getting better and better, and I think they'll push the cowboys to supplant them and maybe they only finish third in the division, but I think the cowboys are in for a hefty bump.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think the Eagles have comfortably the most talented roster in the NFL and also comfortably the most expensive roster in the NFL in terms of how much debt they went into to get to get that roster.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_01]: And so you know the result is should be that once again that they look they look great in that division.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_01]: because I agree with Simon about Dallas.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_01]: I think that they're hard on the way down.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_01]: I think that there's going to be a hangover from losing your best player like that.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_01]: Mike Parsons.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_01]: I do have a little bit more sympathy.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_01]: I think for them with that situation, especially as it came out later, you know, Rappinport kind of suggested that with the spring, the L-four, L-five spring, that Mike Parsons has in his back.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: that he's going to take injections to play with the Green Bay Packers, but he might not have been inclined to do that if he had stayed in Dallas.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe he did exert some leverage that affected that trade price.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that never, never underestimate the player trying to exert some leverage in situations like that.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_01]: So I have some sympathy for them, but that's the sympathy for sinking ship.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that overall the Eagles are good.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_01]: I think Washington will take a step back.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think the Cowboys will take a step back and the same assignment.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_01]: I'm interested in the giants, but not just because
- 22:47[SPEAKER_01]: of the roster and the defensive line talent, the up front talent that they have, which is considerable, but also because, again, we get into this quarterback thing where, you know, we don't know what to make of the quarterback situation, consider they have Russell Wilson, and we think that he's going to be the guy, but at the same time, you know, they also have a hot rookie in the room.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_01]: with Jackson Dart and you know what if what if he does play for all the right reasons and what if he's far better say for example than I thought he was in college then then you have the making.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah I mean well then you then you have to say well then this could be an explosive upward move from the New York Giants within the division and so that's that's kind of how I ended up falling.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I try not to get too excited about their play in preseason, but if you watch Jackson dart this preseason like man, he looks it.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_03]: He looks like he's going to be something.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_01]: But what does that matter?
- 23:57[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, well, once they play in the pros, all your draft evaluations, they go out the window, because now they're playing against the correct talent that you have to project against.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_05]: All right, this is the Eagles have just got some young players as well, the replacing kind of thanks, but you look like
- 24:13[SPEAKER_05]: Moreover, Joe Moe taking over Milton Williams and Andrew McCuba taking over at safety, who's been brilliant apparently in preseason and in camp.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_05]: Just guys that are just ready to step in, Mac Williams, who's just going to play, going to start, going to have a really impact on that team and how are you doing, how are you things just replacing, you know, good players with good players and I think that the beat rolls on for the Eagles.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_03]: All right, we're moving on to the nobody knows anything division.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_03]: The NFC West because if you if you look at five analysts, you might have five different picks.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_03]: Oddly enough, the forty nine is not one of those hot picks because they're thinning out that roster.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_03]: They're using a word that that Chris likes to use de-leveraging.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_03]: Cardinals have that look.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_03]: Seahawks have a new quarterback.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just going to go with the best roster.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_03]: I think the Rams win this division.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_03]: And I have more to say about the Rams later on in this show.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_03]: Your thoughts, Simon?
- 25:08[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, just go with the best coach.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_05]: And the best coach is is Sean McVay.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, the caveat obviously is Matthew Stafford's back.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_05]: You know, there's an aggravated disc means back and he missed like the first month of training camp.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_05]: But to me, it's the best coach team.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_05]: Stafford has a super ball winner and he hasn't shown huge amounts of decline and he put Devonti Adams.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_05]: You got put in a cooler.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_05]: There's still, you know, really good players that are kind of Williams's back.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_05]: The offensive line is really well put together and then you've got, you know,
- 25:40[SPEAKER_05]: Best young past rocker in the league, you got Kobe Turner, you got Braden Fisk, you got, you know, all those really good front seven players.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_05]: So to me, I think the Rams are the other class.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_05]: I think the forty-nighters of the team that's kind of flying under most people's rated hours, just because they had such a bad year last year.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_05]: But obviously they retain a number of, you know, over really good players.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_05]: And I've seen them anywhere from sort of top ten in the league.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_05]: I think their offensive continuity is huge and they've got, you know, obviously key building blocks and defense when you look at Nick Bosa, you look at Dumbledore and I, you look at Fred, Fred Warner, and he got Robert Salaback, you know, in terms of being the coordinator.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_05]: offensive players, your repair saw you hope makes a step up.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_05]: So I think the four in honors will be close, McAfrey can easily stay healthy, etc, etc.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_05]: But yeah, I think to me the class of that division is probably just the rounds.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, four in honors have to have to survive running a you being out for a while.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_03]: Your thoughts, Chris.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_01]: I have a lot of sympathy for trying to figure out this particular division because I think that the difference between this particular division and say the AFC East is that the AFC East does have Buffalo to essentially keep order.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_01]: within the division, whereas this division doesn't have somebody like that.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_01]: But I liken it to them because I think that there are between San Francisco Seattle and Arizona.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_01]: There is a lot of, a lot of cloudiness over who is going to emerge there.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_01]: Whereas the Rams, we say that they should be in charge of this division, but they're only going to go as far as their quarterback takes them.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that quarterback in particular Matt Stafford, I would like him to wear the dolphins are with to a tongue of Iloa, as far as, you know, the chances of keeping these players upright and healthy for seventeen games.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think I don't like the chances for either of those teams.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_01]: And so what do you do with that?
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: Because in an individual game, you're going to be like different of Matt Stafford's playing.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to be like, well, they have an emergent defense and they have, you know, Matt Stafford in a very proven offensive system, proven offensive coaching and good players.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_01]: But then, well, how many games is Matt Stafford kind of play?
- 28:05[SPEAKER_01]: And so in you asked the same question about the Miami Dolphins with two, you know, legitimately so.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I mean, I guess this is provisionally how I'd have to put it is the Rams and Charge when followed by the forty-nine or C. Hawks and Cardinals, but I don't feel great about it.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_03]: All right, move it on to the NFC North.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_03]: This is a murderous division.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_03]: Nobody talks about the Vikings and you know, JJ McCarthy doesn't have too many fans, but that team won fourteen games last year, fourteen and did not win the division because the team that won it won fifteen games.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_03]: Lines are the sexy pick.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_03]: The bears are much improved.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think I'm not one of these people.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_03]: I think that Caleb Williams is going to be garbage.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's actually going to be a pretty good quarterback.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_03]: And I think he has talent around him.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_03]: He could have a good season.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't think he was that bad last year.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_03]: Although everybody, it was fun and popular to say that Caleb Williams was bad last year.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think he was bad.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_03]: I thought he was actually pretty good for a rookie.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_03]: But the team for me is, and not because they just made the trade for Michael Parsons.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_03]: I like this team before.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_03]: I like the quarterback.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_03]: I like their offensive line.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_03]: I like I love their coach.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_03]: I like that they're a run first team in cold weather.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_03]: The Green Bay Packers is my pick and
- 29:24[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, spoiler alert.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_03]: They're going to be my pick to be in Levi Steady, Matthew, and the season.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_03]: Your thoughts, Simon?
- 29:31[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I disagree about the buzz in terms of Caleb Williams.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_05]: I see I thought he was really mediocre last year, actually.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, he was twenty-eighth or thirty-two in QBR and
- 29:39[SPEAKER_05]: Twenty twenty four average just five point one yards per drop back, which was the fewest in the league.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, he was pressured quite a lot.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_05]: Sixty eight times.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_05]: He was sacked, which was fifteen more than sixteen more than any QB last season.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_05]: But I think he brought a lot of those on himself.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_05]: I worry about their left tackle issue in terms of, you know, there's a kind of battle that's gone on throughout camp and who's going to protect the the blind side.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_05]: I do love that the skill position players cost a loveland and the burden coming into join, commit and a dunzy into the game or etc.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_05]: But I think the strength is the first three that the caveat to Minnesota is obviously Jay Jay MacArthur who they love but you know he's a rookie essentially coming in and directing that team and and to me that the real quality is the
- 30:28[SPEAKER_05]: It's the lions and the packers and I think if you look at it, the lions, that front seven, makes me nervous in terms of the ability to get to the quarterback consistently and so much pressure on the shoulder of the Raiden Hutchinson.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_05]: And you have to look at stability and I think the lions have had some instability in terms of, you know, Frank Ragnar, one of the best centres in the league.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_05]: Grand Glasgow is having to kick across from guard to centre, you can have take rattledges at
- 30:55[SPEAKER_05]: as a rookie in there.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_05]: And that's an issue, I think.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_05]: And obviously the coordinators, you lose Ben Johnson, you lose Aaron Glenn, you're bringing in to completely new, you know, new coordinators in Kelvin Shepherd, our online back on John Morton, who's going to take over an offensive, but has been an offensive coordinator before and not a great one, whereas the upheaval in Green Day has been, has been minimal, really.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_05]: In fact, the only thing that's really happened there, but you know, is that they finally drafted the wide receiver who's looked unbelievable in training, Kevin Matthew Golden,
- 31:25[SPEAKER_05]: and they brought in arguably the best defensive player in the NFL alongside Mars Gareth in, in, in, um, Micah Parsons.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_05]: So, I think it will be a battle between the blinds and the packers.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_05]: And I think they've played each other in week, so they've played each other in week one, week two.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_05]: It's very early that they've played each other in a season.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_05]: But to me, I think it will just be, just be the packers if they can keep Jordan love healthy, which, you know, hasn't always been easy.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_05]: But, um, I think the packers just crisps over the blinds for me.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, I understand the Packers' ascension, but I think that the, I mean, personal opinion is that the Lions Froster is too talented, to, for me, to bed against.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, when you're talking about the upfront, you mentioned Adon Hutchinson, I mean, the Lee McNeill and,
- 32:15[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I think that if you're looking at what's a stain, the linebacker that they have there to.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_01]: And then Kirby Joseph and you know, I think that there's just so much talent there that is for DJ Reed that is very well respected.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, maybe there is a reason that we went up there and they kicked our butts and joined practices.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I don't think there's generally that much to read in the joint practices, but
- 32:45[SPEAKER_01]: But still, I think that they are the class of it.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think losing Ben Johnson is going to end up, and then this is a theory of mine that it's going to end up that big of a deal.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_01]: I think their offense rolls on as if nothing has happened.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_01]: And so, you know, yeah, they're first in that division, I think they deserve it.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_01]: So Minnesota Vikings is where I think that there could be, you know, turn them well.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_01]: And the Green Bay Packers are obviously on the ascension upwards, so I'll give them second place ahead of the Minnesota Vikings.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_01]: But I do also disagree about the Chicago Bears.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_01]: I disagree about Caleb Williams.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_01]: I think that
- 33:25[SPEAKER_01]: Um, this rebuild is going to take a while.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, they're doing it from the lines up, you know, Ben Johnson and they clearly, uh, they clearly are focusing on the offensive lines and that's, that's a good thing.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but it, that doesn't mean it's not going to take time and, uh, and I think that this is going to take time for the Chicago Bears.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_05]: All right, yeah, I'll just want to say just like that's a very apricy point you make on the lines, but what I would say is certainly about the defensive line is that almost a week is after the year, a Lehman Neil, who mentioned as a great player, but starts the year on PUP, so I won't play the first four games.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_05]: They haven't started Thai League Williams as a rookie defensive tackle and opposite Aiden Hunches.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_05]: It's Mark, Mark is damn important, who's kicked around the league.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_05]: That I think early on certainly is my concern in terms of just that, the ability to get to the quarterback.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_05]: and so much pressure on the shoulders of Agenuch's.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_05]: But they're a great team and a big fan of the lines.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_01]: But I mean, Brian, Branch, Kirby Joseph.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, of course.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, but yeah.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_05]: And on the right hand.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_05]: And it was a great place.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_05]: There's great place.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_05]: You weren't here.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_05]: You weren't here.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_05]: You weren't here.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_05]: Me talking bad about the, about the lines.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_05]: But I just, I do wonder about just that kind of, the biggest you're about.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_05]: Because like, you go back and look, can he come up plus two first rounders to get my capacitance?
- 34:43[SPEAKER_05]: Like, the line should have been all over that.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_05]: I know they've got a pay aid in Hatches and the smart deal that the pack has made that people don't really talk about is that all the pack has made your players are under contract, they're caught back under contract, they're best playing the secondaries under contract, Zack Thomas under contract, the only person that's not under contract is the left tack or who they'll probably pay at the end of this year and they're still forty million under this year's cap.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_05]: So, you know, knowing what the cap is going to do next year in terms of how it bumps up exponentially.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_05]: So, yeah, I think it will be a fascinating race between these two teams and, you know, McCarthy could be the X-factor.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_03]: All right, moving on to the NFC South.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_03]: This division is not very good.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think that the Falcons are terrible, but they just can't challenge the blocks.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_03]: I was speaking to a couple of bucks fans while I was on vacation.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_03]: They were telling me they just got a fire at Todd Bowles because he has a team that is essentially getting gifted a home playoff game every single year in warm weather.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_03]: Usually bringing a cold weather team into their town where they just went and then there's a ceiling.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_03]: There's a cap on that team.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_03]: meaning the second round.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_03]: They just can't get past that second round.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_03]: Bucks are going to win this division and I like the roster.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_03]: I just don't like them to go deep into the playoffs.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_03]: They'll win their home game and then they'll lose into the visual round.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_03]: Your thoughts and it's yourself Simon.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I think he's out of the same.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_05]: I think Tampa win, you know, Baker is Baker and you know, I worry about how they're going to get pressure on the cool match.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_05]: They've had a lot of injuries already.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_05]: I suppose the Wildcar Chris to me is what happens with Michael Penex in Atlanta and whether or not he'll be as good as the Falcons think he will be.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_05]: He played okay in his three starts.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_05]: He's been excellent in camp.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_05]: He's aggressive.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_05]: be interesting to see how he plays and whether or not the bigger they solve the biggest problem, which is getting pressure on callbacks, whether that's James Padears, whether that's that affloid, whether that's that carousel, whether that's Ebecitae, whoever at Jalen Walker, whoever he is, they have to be able to do that.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_01]: In addition, I would just, you know, learn that at any time, the injury bothered that plague, micropanics and college could just jump back into the frame.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_01]: And, and so that's, that's, that's a major concern for me in the Falcons trying to actually ascend within the division.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_01]: I think Tampa is
- 37:10[SPEAKER_01]: certainly should be considered to be in charge of this division.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_05]: But you can probably be the beginning of getting hot for the year out for the season.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_05]: See, I'm sure it's Michael Jarrell playing one tackle.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_01]: Already already injury bugs and already potentially protection issues for a guy who was injury prone in college.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you face the music when when you have a guy who came out of college injury prompt.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 37:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and that gets in the way of the Atlanta Falcons, but it's not like I can see much emerging from the Saints and the Panthers.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_01]: I guess I have a hard time buying that the Panthers will have turned it around.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_01]: I can see why, if they do.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_01]: I guess it just all does hinges on whether you buy price younger or not.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: I don't.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_01]: And so, you know, that's where I'm left with this is, you know, yes, he definitely got better from first year's second year.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, he's definitely a sending.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_01]: I just, I don't know how much better he's going to get, but if he does, then this is the team that could rock it all the way ahead of the Tampa Bay Black community, or even potentially.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_01]: So, so that's the way I see a Tampa first, a Tampa first Carolina, then Atlanta, and then New Orleans.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_03]: All right, and now finishing up with our Super Bowl predictions.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_03]: I have the Ravens and the Packers and Levi Stadium.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_03]: I have the Ravens winning the Super Bowl with Lamar Jackson, your thoughts, Simon.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I pretty much just say it hard to see past Ravens, Packers, Eagles, Chiefs.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_05]: So I'm gonna get Ravens Packers to you.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Super Bowl, I think that Eagles, Eagles, Lions, I think I still have a lot of quite a bit of faith in them.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_01]: Not Super Bowl, NFC championship.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_01]: Eagles has to be a way to win.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_01]: That's going to be a way to win.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_01]: No, I think it is Eagles Lions, and on the AFC side, Kansas City Baltimore, Baltimore, reaches up and
- 39:19[SPEAKER_01]: and gets to the Super Bowl and beat the Philadelphia Eagles.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_01]: I think Lamar Jackson gets his first form.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_03]: Kind of a consensus we have here on the Super Bowl.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_03]: So pressures on the Ravens.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_03]: For the dolphins, I'll go first.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_03]: I think there is a possibility and this is always, you know, with to a health permitting.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_03]: There's a possibility where they'll be having a good season heading into December and will be hopelessly out of the division race.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, the schedule just checks out that way.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_03]: The schedule helps Miami, but also hurts Miami because the bill schedule softens as Miami schedule stiffens.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_03]: So you could realistically have a scenario where the dolphins are having a great season and have no shot at the division four weeks out.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_03]: I say that they lose three out of the last four, but they'll build up such a win total that they'll reach ten and that'll give them the seventh seed and probably going to Baltimore in the first round.
- 40:27[SPEAKER_03]: So I got Miami at ten and seven.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_03]: Your thoughts, Simon.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_05]: I think that when anywhere between five and nine games, I think of the callback stage healthy then.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_05]: eight or nine, but it's a big gift.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_05]: And even with him, just saying this, you know, so many holes, tight end, massive issue, secondary, massive issue.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_05]: I hate to be the conveyor of doing because the fuck means me, there's got to sit through this every season as well.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_05]: As well as everybody else at Lissons, I'd either though.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_05]: I'd be very surprised there at the playoffs.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_05]: I think so many things have got to fall their way.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_05]: So much health has got to go their way.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_05]: It just doesn't happen in a game that's so fast and physical where you're getting multi-directional shots from people who can run Olympic hundred meters.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_05]: I wouldn't be surprised if they only won five games.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_05]: I'd be surprised if they won more than nine.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_05]: So I'm going to go eight and nine is that I think now.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_05]: I call it.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_05]: All right, Chris.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to go with seven and ten.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_01]: I'm comfortable being on the low side here.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_05]: It's to go lower and I just went higher.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_01]: You worried that I just underbed you?
- 41:52[SPEAKER_05]: I thought you were going to go above me so I thought I'd just like because everybody says I'm like the the do munga so I just was just trying to like not be the do munga but I realistically think five or six but I just prices rated you.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_01]: So, but, uh, but yeah, I am going to go.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to go under that comfortably.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_01]: So, what's seven and ten, um, I think that the the health of to a tongue of a little obviously is central, uh, but it's not just that the fact I would compare him and where he is right now to when the dolphin's signed Trent Green as a free agent in two thousand seven.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_01]: Um, he didn't make it through five games, uh, before, you know, uh, and Jason Taylor's
- 42:33[SPEAKER_01]: words as I just got scrambled.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that to it could be an a very unfortunate and very similar place with respect to his contraction history.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's hard to say exactly how far you will make it through the season, but I would probably say better chances than not that he doesn't.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_01]: And so, you know, that leaves us in a place of also evaluating that from a mile high view that the dolphins, if you really honest about it, and in my business, expectations are important.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_01]: Everything is about what you earned and what you produced versus expectations.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_01]: The dolphins haven't been on the north side of expectations since,
- 43:19[SPEAKER_01]: And that was the year that they probably comfortably beat their expectations.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_01]: But since then, they've been falling short of expectations and increasingly so every single year.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_01]: And this is given that this is the same football administration.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know that I see that trend turning.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think, in fact, I think if anything, it tends to hit a capitulation bottom before it starts to get better.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't think we got quite there last year, especially giving the health issues of two to a ton of our lowest.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_01]: So I will comfortably take that low side, seven and ten.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that there's just too much that can go wrong at any given point of the season.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_05]: Well, I will say that if that it's not as bad as being bill by the check.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I like the, I like the video of his girlfriend coming up to him and somebody put a caption of his girlfriend coming up to him on the sideline saying, can I have twenty dollars to go to the stands?
- 44:25[SPEAKER_05]: The whole thing is an absolute.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh
- 44:47[SPEAKER_03]: Unless you go by the win-total and if you go by the win-total they've beaten Vegas's win-total five out of the last six seasons.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_05]: I just think that the interesting thing about the dolphins is that I don't look I'm sure families are the same around the league and they do it with their own teams right but I don't think there's a unit that doesn't have question marks over right and and pretty significant ones.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_05]: Lineback are probably the least but you start with quarterback.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_05]: Can the quarterback say healthy
- 45:15[SPEAKER_05]: And that leads into other backups good enough and that leads into is the coach good enough to design a playbook that if the start is out for six games that we can win with, right?
- 45:25[SPEAKER_05]: Running back, can a change to a healthy?
- 45:28[SPEAKER_05]: Are we relying on a rookie?
- 45:29[SPEAKER_05]: Why do see for injuries and is the number one guy going to flame out again and do we get the end of last year?
- 45:34[SPEAKER_05]: I end one of the worst groups in the league.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_05]: offensive line, can they sell healthy?
- 45:38[SPEAKER_05]: Is patchy poor good enough?
- 45:41[SPEAKER_05]: Defensive line, you know, probably the strength of the team, but can they stay healthy on the edge?
- 45:45[SPEAKER_05]: The two guys coming off serious injuries.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_05]: And there's a huge relapse on rookie into your defensive line.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_05]: Lineback is who's going to emerge as the second eye behind Brooks?
- 45:54[SPEAKER_05]: Secondary, one of the worst of the league has added some veteran players, but, you know, we're literally signing guys like a week before the season starts to come in and literally be stars, you know, in terms of a result of this.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_05]: So, safety is who is going to emerge alongside Mink of its Patrick, even the specialist.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_05]: Jason Sanders is riding paths and going to be good enough.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_05]: Jason Sanders is going to come back because he's one of the best kicks in the league and in this huge question marks about the coaches as well.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_05]: You just can't escape.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_05]: such a huge avalanche of questions going into a season.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_05]: And I know each team in each unit has the same sort of questions.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_05]: But it does feel like Miami's question marks are very, very big.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_05]: And, you know, we're having a touched upon the whole Darren Waller, Huller Ballou, and the fact that he's barely practiced and, you know, we're expecting what we, you know, he still listed the starting day in.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, what's, who knows what's going to notice more that we'll talk about on Thursday, but it's just a may launch of kind of question marks and who knows what's
- 46:52[SPEAKER_03]: Yep.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I completely agree as far as, you know, the most important thing for this team is the health of the quarterback.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_03]: Nothing else pretty much matters.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_03]: It might happen at least.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_05]: And if he doesn't tell you healthy, I don't know what you guys think about to me.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_05]: That's, that's going to be, you know, twenty, twenty, six is the reset.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_05]: It has to be.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_05]: I can't continue to.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I think that they've already kind of reset the roster for the new quarterback.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, the reset as in the physical quarterback.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the tour in my opinion, he doesn't stay healthy.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_03]: Tua is just the placeholder in twenty twenty six as a rookie is his understudy.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_03]: And I mean a rookie that you draft in the first or second round.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's always going to be a fashion.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_01]: I almost think that they can't afford to continue on with two of those in that situation, but you know, that's that's a conversation for another time, but yeah, it's it's going to be very murky and just suffice to say,
- 47:46[SPEAKER_01]: I'm very much in quarterback mode with respect to college footballers here.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, people will have noticed.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_01]: And I haven't been there in a few years to be honest.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_01]: And I clearly am this year.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_01]: So if that means anything to you, that's that's how it is.
- 48:02[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_03]: And we're going to leave it right there.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_03]: Later on in this week, we will talk.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_03]: Colts Dolphins, but till then.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks for listening to three yards per catty.
