- 0:01Speaker 1: Wave. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the right time. A
- 0:12Speaker 1: wave original. My name is Beaumont Jones. Thanks for listening.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Where have you get your podcast? Thanks for watching us
- 0:17Speaker 1: on YouTube. Subscribe, like, rate us, review us, give us
- 0:21Speaker 1: five stars. You only give us four stars. I'm inclined
- 0:24Speaker 1: to believe you are a hater. Guys, I have no idea.
- 0:28Speaker 1: like if you were a Knicks fan or a Spurs fan,
- 0:31Speaker 1: I don't know how you went to sleep on Wednesday night.
- 0:34Speaker 1: First of all, how about I spent all week thinking
- 0:37Speaker 1: that game was going to be on Thursday. I didn't
- 0:40Speaker 1: know the game was on Wednesday until in the afternoon.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Then he sent me a text and was like, I
- 0:45Speaker 1: can't wait for the night.
- 0:46Speaker 2: And I'm like, What's happening tonight?
- 0:49Speaker 1: Is there a game? Oh, there's a game. Had no idea. That, like,
- 0:54Speaker 1: Ryan and I sat in here trying to figure out, like,
- 0:57Speaker 1: how exactly is it that you go about talking about
- 1:00Speaker 1: this game, right? Because we're not going to do this
- 1:01Speaker 1: and we don't do this in a way where you got, like,
- 1:03Speaker 1: these quick little questions that you ask. I've been watching
- 1:06Speaker 1: the ESPN stuff and, baby, they are all over the place. Like, this...
- 1:10Speaker 1: In radio, this is the easiest show in the world
- 1:13Speaker 1: to produce. You just flip the switch and you start talking, right?
- 1:18Speaker 1: That's it. Turn on the phone lines. You don't need
- 1:20Speaker 1: a plan. You don't know anything. You just go in
- 1:23Speaker 1: here and you do it. In this fashion, we try
- 1:26Speaker 1: to get to the highlights and things like, I don't
- 1:29Speaker 1: know where to go. I woke up, I talked to
- 1:33Speaker 1: Jason Goff on the phone I want to say before
- 1:38Speaker 1: 9 a.m. his time, maybe actually like well before that,
- 1:43Speaker 1: because I just needed somebody to talk to. And my
- 1:46Speaker 1: friends in the East time zone wasn't picking up the phone.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I like to surprise Ryan with a lot of the
- 1:51Speaker 1: stuff that I'm going to get out here and say,
- 1:53Speaker 1: I just need people to talk to. I finally got
- 1:54Speaker 1: a chance to talk to the homie Rod. Like I
- 1:56Speaker 1: realized I was doing all this texting with people in
- 1:58Speaker 1: the first half and the second half was so crazy
- 2:00Speaker 1: because at first we weren't texting anymore because there was
- 2:02Speaker 1: nothing to talk about. Then it got to be so chaotic.
- 2:05Speaker 1: As everything went, that nobody had the time to just
- 2:07Speaker 1: be texting with each other? Like, it was, it's, that's
- 2:12Speaker 1: the most stunning ending to a game that I can recall. Now,
- 2:19Speaker 1: the only comebacks in line with this that I can
- 2:24Speaker 1: truly remember are not in basketball. They're in football, and
- 2:28Speaker 1: they're fairly obvious examples that you hear people bring up,
- 2:31Speaker 1: but I think they actually do fit. One of them
- 2:34Speaker 1: is January 3rd, 1993. The Houston Oilers blew a 35
- 2:39Speaker 1: to three lead to the Buffalo Bills in the wildcard
- 2:42Speaker 1: round of the playoffs. The other is the Atlanta Falcons. Honestly,
- 2:49Speaker 1: as you should have expected, blowing a 28 to three lead.
- 2:53Speaker 1: To the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. Maybe
- 2:57Speaker 1: you heard about it. OK. Ooh, that'll be a time machine. Tuesday.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Pretty soon.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Yeah. Ten years.
- 3:03Speaker 1: It'll be ten years in February 2017. Anyway. Here's what
- 3:09Speaker 1: those games had in common. The Oilers at that time,
- 3:14Speaker 1: for those of you who are too young to remember this,
- 3:16Speaker 1: were running an offense called the run and shoot. And
- 3:18Speaker 1: it's a very important detail in the story of them
- 3:21Speaker 1: blowing that lead because every down they ran with one
- 3:24Speaker 1: running back and four wide receivers, 10 personnel is what
- 3:28Speaker 1: they call it. And you get out to a 35-3 lead,
- 3:32Speaker 1: and even if you call your offense a ball control
- 3:35Speaker 1: offense because it's predicated on short passing, if the short
- 3:39Speaker 1: passing doesn't work, then the clock stops. And somehow in
- 3:43Speaker 1: a game where Buffalo trailed the Oilers 35-3 at some point,
- 3:48Speaker 1: Buffalo had more carries, more rushing attempts than the Oilers did.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Lorenzo White, their Pro Bowl running back who ran for
- 3:54Speaker 1: 1,200 yards that year, only had, I want to say,
- 3:58Speaker 1: it was either 17 or 19 carries. I can't remember which,
- 4:00Speaker 1: but that's where it was. They didn't run the ball.
- 4:05Speaker 1: And so you make it easy for them when the
- 4:07Speaker 1: clock stops. What did Kyle Shanahan and his big brain
- 4:11Speaker 1: go out there and do in that Super Bowl? Kept
- 4:14Speaker 1: throwing the ball. Your defense got gassed. You wound up
- 4:19Speaker 1: losing the game. That is what the Spurs did in
- 4:21Speaker 1: the second half. They just went out there. I've seen
- 4:24Speaker 1: the exact numbers. I can't remember now. But after they
- 4:27Speaker 1: were making all those shots in the first half, getting
- 4:31Speaker 1: all those buckets, they kept shooting early in the shot
- 4:35Speaker 1: clock threes in the second half. That just didn't make
- 4:40Speaker 1: any sense. Analogous to the football teams and their defenses
- 4:44Speaker 1: getting gassed inexplicably. Mitch Johnson had Victor playing almost all
- 4:49Speaker 1: of that second half. Like this was a 20 something
- 4:51Speaker 1: point game in the fourth quarter. You still have this
- 4:55Speaker 1: guy that we know because of the unique demands that
- 4:58Speaker 1: you put on him relative to his physique and everything else.
- 5:02Speaker 1: His levels of exhaustion, we've known about. This is a thing.
- 5:07Speaker 1: And he had him out there. He played 44 minutes
- 5:10Speaker 1: in a game where you had a giant lead for
- 5:13Speaker 1: the majority of it. It didn't make any sense. And
- 5:16Speaker 1: by the way, I thought they had him out there
- 5:17Speaker 1: for too many minutes in the first half where they
- 5:20Speaker 1: got Carl Anthony Towns out of there literally in 65
- 5:24Speaker 1: seconds with two fouls. Like... It was malpractice on so
- 5:31Speaker 1: many levels. Coaching malpractice is number one where we go
- 5:35Speaker 1: on this, right? But there's another level of malpractice that
- 5:39Speaker 1: took place in this game and it really comes down
- 5:45Speaker 1: to what kind of league the NBA wants to be
- 5:49Speaker 1: and what it is that they want to do. And
- 5:53Speaker 1: I know you're wondering what it is that I'm talking about.
- 5:55Speaker 1: And You remember a couple days ago, it was this
- 6:02Speaker 1: football player named Brendan Swordsby. He's supposed to be the
- 6:06Speaker 1: quarterback at Texas Tech. And, you know, he had done
- 6:09Speaker 1: some gambling, and he's going to be able to play.
- 6:14Speaker 1: The NCAA tried to ban him forever, and then the
- 6:17Speaker 1: court said no, and he's going to be able to play.
- 6:19Speaker 1: And then what we saw after that was a lot
- 6:21Speaker 1: of people come down on Texas Tech and say that
- 6:25Speaker 1: Texas Tech is the ones who's wrong. They shouldn't even
- 6:28Speaker 1: allow him to play at all, you know, given the circumstances.
- 6:32Speaker 1: And you had a whole lot of teams that's out
- 6:34Speaker 1: here saying, you know, well, we're not going to play
- 6:36Speaker 1: against Texas tech. If they go and continue to let
- 6:38Speaker 1: swords be play, we're not going to play against Texas tech. And,
- 6:43Speaker 1: you know, that's how, that's how, that's how they show us.
- 6:47Speaker 1: They serious, right? That's how they show us that they
- 6:51Speaker 1: serious about gambling. And at every turn, um, the NBA
- 6:56Speaker 1: has at least tried to tell us that they serious
- 6:58Speaker 1: about gambling. They had the hiccups, they had Terry Rozier,
- 7:01Speaker 1: they had Jonte Porter, whatever's going on with Chauncey Billups,
- 7:04Speaker 1: Damon Jones. You know what I mean? They got those things. Now,
- 7:08Speaker 1: if the NBA and all the teams really want to
- 7:11Speaker 1: show us how serious they are, there's only one solution.
- 7:17Speaker 1: As long as De'Aaron Fox plays for the Spurs, everybody
- 7:20Speaker 1: else got to say, no, we're not going to play
- 7:22Speaker 1: against them. You're not going to do that. He out
- 7:25Speaker 1: here threatening the integrity.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Of the gang. Crossed a line that can't be crossed.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, what other explanation you got for that shit? Right? Like,
- 7:34Speaker 1: I made a joke with somebody, a beat writer, and
- 7:36Speaker 1: I was like, shit, man, I thought De'Aaron Fox was
- 7:38Speaker 1: from Houston. When he was out there playing, it turned
- 7:40Speaker 1: out he was a lifelong Knicks fan. I ain't never
- 7:43Speaker 1: seen nobody fucking up like that. Like, and by like that,
- 7:46Speaker 1: you're like, what do you mean like that? Whatever like
- 7:48Speaker 1: that you could possibly imagine. He found a way to
- 7:52Speaker 1: dabble in it. Let me go find that one stat
- 7:55Speaker 1: that I just sent somebody about how bad he was
- 7:58Speaker 1: messing up. This is from Caitlin Cooper. Fox had 44
- 8:02Speaker 1: touches in the second half, the most of any spur.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Only five touched the paint. San Antonio scored. 387 points
- 8:10Speaker 1: per chance out of his touches. Just so you know,
- 8:13Speaker 1: that's really bad. He shot two of six with two
- 8:15Speaker 1: turnovers when defended by O.G., Guys, that's really, really, really bad.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Just on its face. That's before we get to this. Look,
- 8:27Speaker 1: Victor missed those free throws late. You can blame it
- 8:29Speaker 1: on fatigue or whatever it is. But no, you got
- 8:31Speaker 1: to lock in and make, you got to make those
- 8:33Speaker 1: free throws. Or at the very least, you got to
- 8:34Speaker 1: make one of them. Putting up an 0 for 2?
- 8:38Speaker 1: That wasn't, that was not allowed in that moment. Okay?
- 8:45Speaker 1: But he made a huge play. with that block that
- 8:50Speaker 1: got the ball back across half court where De'Aaron Fox
- 8:54Speaker 1: had it with like 14 seconds left and the Spurs
- 8:58Speaker 1: have a one point lead. And what I just talked
- 9:01Speaker 1: about before.
- 9:02Speaker 2: One of these paint touches that one of these very
- 9:04Speaker 2: few paint touches.
- 9:04Speaker 1: That's a great point. That was, that was the paint touch.
- 9:07Speaker 1: But what I say before about these cats, not respecting
- 9:10Speaker 1: the clock, Like now was the time to dribble it out,
- 9:15Speaker 1: run some clock, make them foul you, whatever it is.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Nope.
- 9:19Speaker 1: He went for that layup. And OG Adenobe came and pitched.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Blocked. Okay. Now we're coming back the other way. And
- 9:29Speaker 1: by the way, at this point, I'm at my house like,
- 9:31Speaker 1: what is happening? What an amazing game. So now it
- 9:34Speaker 1: comes back the other way. Fox did something that seems smart, right?
- 9:39Speaker 1: Which was they had a foul to give. Filing Alvarado.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Put a pin on that name, by the way. Filing Alvarado.
- 9:48Speaker 1: But Alvarado was in the process of dribbling back across
- 9:50Speaker 1: half court. Darren Fox couldn't do, he did wrong when
- 9:55Speaker 1: he did right. Okay. So now the ball comes in.
- 10:00Speaker 1: They come on the side out of bounds. They get
- 10:01Speaker 1: a ball to Brunson. Victor's guarding Brunson. Fox is kind
- 10:06Speaker 1: of shading over there for whatever reason. Victor's guarding Brunson.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Brunson shoots a 30 footer. Cause that's what happens when
- 10:14Speaker 1: the guy guarding you is eight feet tall. The one
- 10:17Speaker 1: thing we knew about that was Jalen Brunson was never
- 10:19Speaker 1: going to pass that ball to anybody.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Never. And not, not considering going at Victor.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Right. So like the thing with Fox was Fox either
- 10:25Speaker 1: needed to come all the way or like they needed to,
- 10:28Speaker 1: I saw Jason Williams on television this morning talking about
- 10:30Speaker 1: how they didn't do the blitz. Right.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Whatever.
- 10:32Speaker 1: I don't, I'm not the guy to ask about that,
- 10:34Speaker 1: but I know this, they either both need to be
- 10:35Speaker 1: committed to Brunson or Victor needed to have him. And
- 10:38Speaker 1: then Fox was going to be on OG. But no,
- 10:41Speaker 1: it didn't work that way. Brunson shoots that shot. Fox
- 10:46Speaker 1: doesn't box out OG. And then OG gets there. Now,
- 10:50Speaker 1: if you look at all those videos and all those
- 10:52Speaker 1: pictures of OG going up for that incredible tip in
- 10:55Speaker 1: that they're calling the hand to God, but that name's
- 10:57Speaker 1: already taken. We have a podcast about it next week.
- 11:01Speaker 1: You look at it and it gets back to one
- 11:03Speaker 1: of those San Antonio weaknesses. OG's going up. Carl is there.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Victor's on the perimeter. So who's down there? A bunch
- 11:11Speaker 1: of dudes not big enough for the fight that was there.
- 11:13Speaker 1: But even with that being the case, they'd have been
- 11:16Speaker 1: fine if Fox had just put a little body on
- 11:19Speaker 1: the OG.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Just classic losing the inbounder.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Sometimes you got to toot that thing up. But it
- 11:25Speaker 1: wasn't about losing the inbounder because it was supposed to
- 11:28Speaker 1: be his man. Yeah. Right? You needed to do something
- 11:32Speaker 1: in that moment. He consistently blew it. in the second half.
- 11:38Speaker 1: He and Mitch Johnson, where they had that one out
- 11:41Speaker 1: of bounds play. I think Castle wound up scoring on
- 11:43Speaker 1: it late. And I was like, what did y'all talk
- 11:46Speaker 1: about in the huddle though? This wasn't no play. There
- 11:50Speaker 1: was no scheme. He is not the, let me cook
- 11:53Speaker 1: something up right fast, and we're going to go out there.
- 11:56Speaker 1: He doesn't have that, but there's no way that lead
- 11:58Speaker 1: should have been blown the way it was without the
- 12:01Speaker 1: coach at least getting in and being like, fellas, slow
- 12:05Speaker 1: it down. We don't need these shots as of right now. This,
- 12:11Speaker 1: after one of the most top-to-bottom dominant first halves ever,
- 12:16Speaker 1: I have ever seen in my life. They wrecked the Knicks.
- 12:20Speaker 1: I thought the Knicks were completely finished. The Knicks came
- 12:23Speaker 1: out there, energy-wise, dead. Victor was punking them. He made
- 12:28Speaker 1: Mitchell Robinson completely lose his shit. He's sitting on the ground.
- 12:32Speaker 1: I'm in your head, boy. And he was. They played
- 12:37Speaker 1: such an awful game in the first half. Part of it,
- 12:40Speaker 1: of course, the San Antonio wouldn't miss, right? Like some
- 12:43Speaker 1: of that was outside the control of the Knicks. But
- 12:46Speaker 1: the truth was, as has been the case in all
- 12:49Speaker 1: these games, San Antonio came out early. But then they
- 12:52Speaker 1: just they were relentless about it. Made Mitchell Robinson elbow
- 12:57Speaker 1: Victor in the jaw just because he was mad. That
- 13:01Speaker 1: was it. There was like there was no reason to
- 13:05Speaker 1: believe that the Knicks had to resolve. I guess maybe
- 13:08Speaker 1: the Cleveland game, the game won against Cleveland. But this
- 13:11Speaker 1: ain't Cleveland Cavaliers. Like my man, Rob made a great point.
- 13:14Speaker 1: They went from walking over everybody over there, beating about
- 13:17Speaker 1: 30 points, 20 points over there. And these, they came
- 13:19Speaker 1: over here and these games, even the first game, which
- 13:20Speaker 1: was double digit, but these games are different than those.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Like it was obvious that they stepped up to a
- 13:24Speaker 1: different level of competition. And it looked like they were
- 13:27Speaker 1: demoralized by the fact that they heard too much of
- 13:29Speaker 1: that Nixon four in the street. And they got demoralized
- 13:31Speaker 1: by the fact they couldn't. And I'll throw something else
- 13:33Speaker 1: out there. I was talking to an agent about this.
- 13:35Speaker 1: He made a very interesting point, which is that as
- 13:38Speaker 1: an arena, Madison square garden is a place that carries
- 13:40Speaker 1: negative energy. like nervous energy specifically. And you can believe that.
- 13:44Speaker 1: 20,000 Knicks fans?
- 13:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:47Speaker 1: After they had lost game three?
- 13:49Speaker 2: Yeah, and they haven't won in there in 50 years.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Yeah, there was a tension. And you can feel that
- 13:55Speaker 1: through the television.
- 13:57Speaker 2: They're expecting things to go wrong.
- 13:59Speaker 1: And then it kept going. And then it kept going.
- 14:01Speaker 1: And they made, I just can't believe it. I have
- 14:07Speaker 1: sat up, it's been now that we're recording this, The
- 14:10Speaker 1: game's been over. It hasn't even been 12 hours. And
- 14:13Speaker 1: I was just like, I don't know what it is.
- 14:15Speaker 1: I don't know how you're supposed to put in words
- 14:19Speaker 1: what happened. You obviously have to blame San Antonio. This
- 14:23Speaker 1: was a collapse. But the type of collapse to me
- 14:27Speaker 1: was interesting. It did not feel like the moment was
- 14:30Speaker 1: too big for them. It did not feel like they
- 14:34Speaker 1: got nervous. It just felt like they're idiots. Like, they
- 14:38Speaker 1: just started playing idiot ball. Like, am I supposed to
- 14:42Speaker 1: believe that the pressure of a 30-point lead was too much? No,
- 14:45Speaker 1: I think they started, like, fucking around. I think the
- 14:47Speaker 1: thing that happened to the Knicks, one of the things
- 14:49Speaker 1: that happened to the Knicks in the first half, I
- 14:50Speaker 1: think happened to San Antonio in the second half, like,
- 14:53Speaker 1: or these two things are similar, right? They went down
- 14:55Speaker 1: a similar path. In the first half, the Knicks were
- 14:59Speaker 1: clearly caught up in their plan to just knock Victor around.
- 15:04Speaker 1: For sure. They had decided they was going to get
- 15:06Speaker 1: their leg back And they was going to elbow him
- 15:08Speaker 1: and they were going to bump him and grab him
- 15:10Speaker 1: at every turn. That's what they were going to do.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Carl got those two fouls early. And let me stop
- 15:15Speaker 1: and say something very quickly about that. I hate this
- 15:19Speaker 1: part of the replay rules. I completely hate this idea
- 15:24Speaker 1: that they challenged the call on whether or not Victor
- 15:28Speaker 1: committed a foul on the block. And he clearly did
- 15:32Speaker 1: not foul him on that block. I don't feel like
- 15:36Speaker 1: they should be able to go back and then go
- 15:38Speaker 1: be like, well, actually, we looked about three seconds before
- 15:40Speaker 1: that play and Carl hooked him.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it makes no sense. That's not how sports are
- 15:44Speaker 2: supposed to work.
- 15:44Speaker 1: I don't feel like you should be able to do that.
- 15:46Speaker 1: I don't feel like the replay should be a carte
- 15:48Speaker 1: blanche to go back and look at everything. I think
- 15:51Speaker 1: that you should have to be very clear. Another thing
- 15:54Speaker 1: I don't think you should be allowed to do, I
- 15:56Speaker 1: don't think they should be allowed to have them goddamn iPads.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Either challenge it or you don't. If the call wasn't
- 16:01Speaker 1: so bad that you were so sure of it at
- 16:03Speaker 1: that time that you're going to do something about it,
- 16:04Speaker 1: then we don't need to go to no goddamn replay.
- 16:06Speaker 1: You understand what I'm saying?
- 16:07Speaker 2: It's like your definition of flagrant from yesterday.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Exactly. That's why these games be taking so long. It's
- 16:11Speaker 1: because they can get back and then be like, well,
- 16:13Speaker 1: hold on, go back a little bit earlier and see
- 16:15Speaker 1: if such and such happened. No, no, no. That ain't
- 16:17Speaker 1: what we, that's not what the trial about. That's not
- 16:21Speaker 1: what we doing right now, man. Fuck out of here.
- 16:23Speaker 1: But anyway, they kept trying to assault the Spurs, basically,
- 16:29Speaker 1: and the Spurs were thriving on it. Like, it's interesting.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Once the Knicks gave up on doing that and went
- 16:35Speaker 1: back to actually playing basketball, what do you know? They
- 16:40Speaker 1: did okay. I also felt like that first half was
- 16:43Speaker 1: a lot of, did it feel like a lot of
- 16:44Speaker 1: Brunson ball?
- 16:45Speaker 2: Yes.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Did the second half feel like it? Because I didn't
- 16:48Speaker 1: think the second half felt like it until late when
- 16:50Speaker 1: you kind of wanted to be Brunson ball. Like, at
- 16:53Speaker 1: some point, they're going to get that through to him
- 16:56Speaker 1: that you are the king of the city. You are
- 17:02Speaker 1: our number two guy on the court. And Knicks fans
- 17:07Speaker 1: don't like hearing that. One of my buddies, you know,
- 17:11Speaker 1: who is not a short man, but not a tall man.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Take that, Becky Hammond. You know, like, that's what Jalen
- 17:23Speaker 1: Brunson out here doing all the time with his daddy
- 17:26Speaker 1: over there making a fool of himself some of the time.
- 17:28Speaker 1: You know, any of that. Didn't make the shot to
- 17:31Speaker 1: get it done. OG did. And shout out to you,
- 17:34Speaker 1: Josh Hart. Buddy, buddy, buddy, buddy, buddy. Josh Hart. He
- 17:39Speaker 1: missed that layup. Couldn't figure out if he wanted to dunk,
- 17:41Speaker 1: if he wanted to lay it up. That was a choke.
- 17:45Speaker 1: There was no way around it. And he got spared.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:50Speaker 1: He got 100% spared because it was, I mean, it
- 17:53Speaker 1: wasn't going to be like the end for him because
- 17:55Speaker 1: they would have gone down 2-2, but it had been
- 17:57Speaker 1: a lot of people.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Almost killed Larry David.
- 18:00Speaker 1: He did almost kill Larry David. He did almost kill
- 18:03Speaker 1: Larry David. That was wild, man. I can't imagine what
- 18:09Speaker 1: it was like to be there. All my friends who
- 18:10Speaker 1: got to go. Foxworth got to go. Kravitz was there.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Some of my rich friends. Shit, man. David Dennis got
- 18:20Speaker 1: a credential to get in there. Good for you.
- 18:22Speaker 2: I'm hating.
- 18:26Speaker 1: I'm being perfectly honest about this. One friend of the program,
- 18:30Speaker 1: I won't say his name because I don't know if
- 18:32Speaker 1: he wanted me to say this part, but just to
- 18:33Speaker 1: let you know, imagine what his night was like. I
- 18:36Speaker 1: was like, yo, how did you get to sleep? Because
- 18:38Speaker 1: I had trouble. Oh, I got to sleep because I
- 18:40Speaker 1: be doing that. But anyway, I was like, so how
- 18:42Speaker 1: did you get to sleep? He said, I couldn't go
- 18:44Speaker 1: to sleep until two o'clock in the morning. And this
- 18:47Speaker 1: morning I got a colonoscopy. Hey, that's a man that
- 18:53Speaker 1: had a lot going on.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Had a rough 24 hours.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Yeah, over 12 hours. He had a lot. No, no,
- 18:58Speaker 1: it was the colonoscopies after the game.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, but I mean prep.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Yeah, oh, that's right. Apparently the prep's not as bad
- 19:04Speaker 1: as it used to be. But yes.
- 19:08Speaker 2: It's not exactly a walk in the park either, I imagine.
- 19:12Speaker 1: I did the thing when my colonoscopy time came where
- 19:16Speaker 1: they basically, what you do is they send you a
- 19:20Speaker 1: kit And you put a stool sample in the kit,
- 19:24Speaker 1: and then you mail the kit off, and then they
- 19:26Speaker 1: let you know if you need the colonoscopy. And I
- 19:30Speaker 1: did that, and I went to go take it to
- 19:32Speaker 1: the UPS store. And I was assuming that the UPS
- 19:35Speaker 1: store opened at 8, because you would think that it
- 19:37Speaker 1: would open early, because people send packages and stuff like that.
- 19:40Speaker 1: But the UPS store actually didn't open until 9, and
- 19:43Speaker 1: I got out there at like 8.45. And let me
- 19:45Speaker 1: tell you what feels weird, just standing outside on the corner,
- 19:49Speaker 1: holding a box of dookie like nobody else knows that
- 19:52Speaker 1: you got a box of dookie but I'm just but
- 19:54Speaker 1: you do yeah I'm just there standing there holding a
- 19:57Speaker 1: box of dookie like somebody please get this dookie out
- 19:59Speaker 1: of my hands and like I kind of wanted to
- 20:01Speaker 1: warn the dude when I handed it over to him
- 20:02Speaker 1: be careful there's dookie in that box but I didn't
- 20:06Speaker 1: want to I didn't think bring an attention to the
- 20:08Speaker 1: dookie was necessarily.
- 20:10Speaker 2: It's not the first time he's been in that situation.
- 20:14Speaker 1: That's right, but I don't know if he knows that's
- 20:15Speaker 1: what's going on. Fair. That's all I'm saying. Anyway, back
- 20:22Speaker 1: to the basketball. Did you see Rich Paul got that podcast?
- 20:26Speaker 2: I'm aware.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Habershow sent me this video of it. I watched some,
- 20:30Speaker 1: and it was real tricky for Rich because the two
- 20:36Speaker 1: guys responsible for this loss primarily De'Aaron Fox. Have you seen...
- 20:41Speaker 1: You've seen the super cuts?
- 20:42Speaker 2: Yes.
- 20:43Speaker 1: The De'Aaron Fox blooper reels of all his terrible... People
- 20:46Speaker 1: cut them things up fast, by the way.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Like, for people to not get paid for that shit,
- 20:50Speaker 1: they was really... They're working. But I guess those people
- 20:52Speaker 1: who are doing that, they are getting paid, like, Sally
- 20:55Speaker 1: Struthers prices. You know? Like, 30 cents a day. You know? Like,
- 21:00Speaker 1: they over there, whatever country they in, cutting up them videos. So, like,
- 21:03Speaker 1: getting paid, in a matter of speaking, I suppose they are.
- 21:07Speaker 1: They're not... Somebody getting paid. I don't know if it's
- 21:10Speaker 1: the people that's out there cutting up them videos. You
- 21:13Speaker 1: know what I'm saying? But anyway, Rich Paul's on his
- 21:18Speaker 1: podcast and they record it fast because they're on the
- 21:20Speaker 1: West Coast. So I guess that means you got the luxury.
- 21:22Speaker 1: You can cut that after the game and not everybody
- 21:24Speaker 1: already be sleepy. But the two culprits are Mitch Johnson
- 21:27Speaker 1: and De'Aaron Fox. Both of them. Both of them his guys.
- 21:33Speaker 1: And he's like, I think that Rich... I think that
- 21:39Speaker 1: guys who decide to do this very, this being the
- 21:43Speaker 1: job that I do, I think very often they are
- 21:45Speaker 1: more serious about the job than people will give them
- 21:47Speaker 1: credit for. You know what I mean? Like, I think
- 21:50Speaker 1: that they are, they, like, for example, Charles Barkley really
- 21:54Speaker 1: cares about the integrity of the things he says on television, right? Like,
- 21:58Speaker 1: that was his thing when you talked to him about
- 22:00Speaker 1: when he fell out with Mike. And he was like, hey, man,
- 22:02Speaker 1: I don't think he's done a good job. And I
- 22:05Speaker 1: have to tell the truth about whether or not he's
- 22:07Speaker 1: done a good job. Like, I think a lot of, like,
- 22:08Speaker 1: I think Draymond goes too hard on the people he
- 22:11Speaker 1: doesn't like, right? But I think Draymond cares about his,
- 22:14Speaker 1: I think there are a lot of those guys, Kendrick Perkins,
- 22:16Speaker 1: I think, they care about their credibility. And I think
- 22:19Speaker 1: that Rich Paul cares about his credibility. And that's why
- 22:22Speaker 1: he can't do this podcast. Because sometimes you get up
- 22:26Speaker 1: and your guys are the ones that shit to bed.
- 22:29Speaker 1: And you can't do this the way that you want
- 22:30Speaker 1: to do it under those circumstances. Because it's those guys.
- 22:36Speaker 1: I don't see any other way to look at this. Like,
- 22:40Speaker 1: I feel bad because they're like, well, what about the
- 22:42Speaker 1: good things the Knicks did? I don't remember that many
- 22:46Speaker 1: of them.
- 22:47Speaker 2: There is a tip they got, you know.
- 22:48Speaker 1: There's a tip. There's a tip. And by the way,
- 22:51Speaker 1: not that they didn't do anything. But like, I didn't
- 22:54Speaker 1: feel like, boy, the Knicks, like I heard Mike Breen
- 22:56Speaker 1: start saying, oh, the Knicks started playing fantastic defense. I
- 22:58Speaker 1: did not feel like the Knicks started playing fantastic defense.
- 23:01Speaker 1: I didn't think they played bad defense, but I didn't
- 23:04Speaker 1: feel like all of a sudden now they put the
- 23:05Speaker 1: clamps on, right? Or this was like when a great
- 23:07Speaker 1: team decides we're going to come back, and now they
- 23:09Speaker 1: start taking the ball at every turn. The Spurs had
- 23:13Speaker 1: a stretch where they missed eight straight threes.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Went for Mazur.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Yeah, like I don't think that had that much to
- 23:20Speaker 1: do with the Knicks at that point. I think this was,
- 23:22Speaker 1: I mean, truly one of the more epic collapses that
- 23:26Speaker 1: we've ever seen. And I don't want to take anything
- 23:28Speaker 1: away from the Knicks because obviously they were able to
- 23:30Speaker 1: make shots. Carl got in the game. And by the way,
- 23:33Speaker 1: another game with an incredible plus minus number from Carl.
- 23:36Speaker 1: OG Ananobi again. right? Played a fantastic game and obviously
- 23:42Speaker 1: not just the tip, but just his presence and he's
- 23:45Speaker 1: hitting the shots that are there for him to hit
- 23:48Speaker 1: like that. They got him for R.J. Barrett.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Yes.
- 23:52Speaker 1: What a heist.
- 23:53Speaker 2: R.J. Barrett, Emmanuel quickly in like a terrible first round pick.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Yes, but also a reminder of how hard it is
- 24:00Speaker 1: to win in the NBA. The Spurs need an OG
- 24:03Speaker 1: or an Aaron Gordon or like, you know, somebody of
- 24:06Speaker 1: a similar ilk. They're not the exact same player, but
- 24:09Speaker 1: I think you guys see what I'm saying. But one
- 24:11Speaker 1: of those costs $ 30 million a year. You know what
- 24:16Speaker 1: I mean? That's what it takes to get one of
- 24:18Speaker 1: those guys. But I said put a pin in Alvarado.
- 24:23Speaker 1: It is a damning indictment of Mikael Bridges. that they
- 24:26Speaker 1: played Jose Alvarado for all those minutes down the stretch. Like,
- 24:30Speaker 1: part of it was needing a ball handler, but I
- 24:32Speaker 1: can only take that as Mike Brown believing that Mikael
- 24:34Speaker 1: Bridges is not up for the moment. And he's the
- 24:37Speaker 1: guy they've got that's been there. Like, OG didn't play
- 24:40Speaker 1: in the playoffs that year for the Raptors. He had
- 24:42Speaker 1: the appendicitis situation. Mikael Bridges, like, Ryan, did you ever
- 24:47Speaker 1: imagine there'd be a world where Jose Alvarado, like, was
- 24:50Speaker 1: taking shots and getting big minutes? Because the one thing
- 24:53Speaker 1: about Alvarado is Alvarado ain't going to scare.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Right.
- 24:56Speaker 1: But they had those two little bitty guards out there.
- 25:00Speaker 1: And Mikael Bridges.
- 25:01Speaker 2: When they needed big stops.
- 25:02Speaker 1: When they needed them. And Alvarado not afraid to go
- 25:05Speaker 1: to the back. Because Alvarado got more practice playing against
- 25:08Speaker 1: somebody like Victor than the rest of the guys. Because
- 25:10Speaker 1: everybody liked Victor compared to Alvarado.
- 25:13Speaker 2: That's been his whole life.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Shit, man. I might as well be Victor next to Alvarado. Right?
- 25:20Speaker 1: So he knows how to get all those angles and
- 25:22Speaker 1: get it right there and all that stuff. They doing
- 25:24Speaker 1: the whole thing. Like, I think you have to give,
- 25:27Speaker 1: I have to give the Knicks credit for this. It's
- 25:28Speaker 1: not about the plays they made. It's about the fact
- 25:31Speaker 1: that they look like they were checked out and somehow just,
- 25:35Speaker 1: I want to say kept chopping wood, but they wasn't
- 25:37Speaker 1: chopping no wood in the first half. Like nobody can
- 25:40Speaker 1: understand how in the world this happened. It's the most
- 25:43Speaker 1: inexplicable anything that I could think of. Guess what? We
- 25:50Speaker 1: got another game on Friday. Or no, Saturday. Not going

- 31:04Speaker 1: coming up on Saturday. Ryan, the wildest thing, man, I
- 31:06Speaker 1: do not think this series is over. I still think
- 31:07Speaker 1: San Antonio can win this. San Antonio has had an
- 31:10Speaker 1: opportunity to win every game this series.
- 31:14Speaker 2: They were favored to win the whole thing at half.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:17Speaker 2: I mean, and like, if you're a San Antonio fan,
- 31:21Speaker 2: you feel like this series should be 2-2 at the
- 31:24Speaker 2: absolute worst. Like, I mean, you've had two chances with
- 31:28Speaker 2: the ball with 10 seconds, and you had the the
- 31:34Speaker 2: incredibly insane unlucky turnover in game two. And then you had,
- 31:39Speaker 2: you know, you're missing a shot up one to, you know,
- 31:44Speaker 2: they're not drilling the clock out. So it just too incredible.
- 31:49Speaker 2: You said the series is not over.
- 31:51Speaker 1: So I know that I know that people find The
- 32:02Speaker 1: more woo-woo things that Victor does, or some people do,
- 32:06Speaker 1: they find that to be a bit performative.
- 32:08Speaker 2: The villain turn has happened. It is happening.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Here's the only thing I'm saying about the woo-woo stuff, though.
- 32:15Speaker 1: As somebody who knows people who do those things and
- 32:19Speaker 1: is a touch inclined toward those things myself, I don't
- 32:23Speaker 1: really think it's as performative. as other people think it is, right? Like,
- 32:27Speaker 1: I think one thing that got people is he told
- 32:28Speaker 1: Ramona Shelburne that he was walking through the arena barefoot
- 32:31Speaker 1: because it was his first time there. Hey, man, I
- 32:33Speaker 1: know the people that really care, like that being grounded,
- 32:36Speaker 1: you know, that sort of stuff. I don't find that
- 32:40Speaker 1: stuff to be performative. I think that he's really into
- 32:43Speaker 1: those things. And he went, you know, the stuff with
- 32:45Speaker 1: the monks we always talk about. I've been doing a
- 32:49Speaker 1: little reading on Buddhism lately. And the thing that I
- 32:53Speaker 1: will say that the Buddhists are big about is, and
- 32:56Speaker 1: I'm going to put it in sporting terms, is don't
- 32:59Speaker 1: lose the same game twice. Right? Like, it is one
- 33:03Speaker 1: thing to suffer. It is one thing to feel bad.
- 33:05Speaker 1: It is one thing, whatever it is. But if you
- 33:08Speaker 1: suffer because you suffered, that's when things, that's the snowball.
- 33:14Speaker 1: You understand what I'm saying? So, like, you can't lose,
- 33:18Speaker 1: let that game beat you again. And that's what Victor
- 33:20Speaker 1: seems to have a hold of.
- 33:22Speaker 2: Right.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Like I did not see from him postgame somebody that
- 33:26Speaker 1: felt beaten by this, felt defeated or whatever it is.
- 33:29Speaker 1: But the truth is, when it was time to rally
- 33:31Speaker 1: the troops in the second half, you look like a
- 33:33Speaker 1: front runner because you weren't able to like you did
- 33:36Speaker 1: not do the thing that needed to be done. I
- 33:38Speaker 1: don't think he understood. And maybe from now on, they'll
- 33:40Speaker 1: never have this problem again. Like that Tom Brady type shit.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Like you look we up by three touchdowns and now
- 33:45Speaker 1: we go down to two touchdowns. Hey, what happened to three? Like,
- 33:49Speaker 1: I'm going to scream at you the same way.
- 33:50Speaker 2: It's Nick Saban screaming at his offensive lineman up 28 points.
- 33:54Speaker 1: Sometimes you got to do it, man. Like, that's what
- 33:56Speaker 1: the stakes were, especially in a game with three-point shots.
- 34:00Speaker 1: That's what you have to do. I want to see
- 34:03Speaker 1: what the Knicks come back with. Like, this is their chance.
- 34:08Speaker 1: If I'm the Knicks, I don't want to bring this
- 34:10Speaker 1: back to Madison Square Garden because that nervousness thing that
- 34:12Speaker 1: I was talking about before, that's really going to be
- 34:15Speaker 1: there if you come back for game six. It's really,
- 34:19Speaker 1: that's not, that is not going to, one, that's not
- 34:22Speaker 1: going to be a comforting environment. And two, the Spurs
- 34:25Speaker 1: have shown us that they are not, they were not
- 34:27Speaker 1: intimidated by the loudest and most raucous that arena was
- 34:30Speaker 1: ever going to be. And honestly, I don't feel like
- 34:32Speaker 1: they were intimidated by it in the second half. So
- 34:34Speaker 1: if I had to guess, have this game on Saturday,
- 34:38Speaker 1: I think this will go to a game six. I
- 34:41Speaker 1: just don't think San Antonio is out of it. And
- 34:42Speaker 1: to be fair to San Antonio, I think we've put
- 34:44Speaker 1: them out of this a couple times already. We had
- 34:46Speaker 1: them out of it. In that Oklahoma City series, I
- 34:50Speaker 1: think we had them out of it down 2-0 in
- 34:53Speaker 1: this series. My buddy Vinny, he is the seer of
- 34:58Speaker 1: all things. He's the one to hit you and be like, yeah,
- 35:00Speaker 1: during the comeback against Cleveland for the Knicks, yep, they're
- 35:04Speaker 1: going to win this one. He did it last night
- 35:06Speaker 1: during that game. Or was it during that game? Nope,
- 35:09Speaker 1: this is what it's going to be. He is that guy.
- 35:11Speaker 1: He sees it. I don't think that he sees the
- 35:13Speaker 1: Spurs pulling this off. But I'm not sure, I'm not,
- 35:17Speaker 1: you know, he's better at this than me for a
- 35:20Speaker 1: number of reasons, right? He's been watching so many of
- 35:22Speaker 1: these games, he knows how I play. But I think
- 35:25Speaker 1: San Antonio is still in this. I don't think that
- 35:29Speaker 1: this one is going to be a wrap. I feel
- 35:33Speaker 1: like we deserve for this to keep going. I don't
- 35:36Speaker 1: want this to end. This is, even if this is
- 35:38Speaker 1: a five-game series, it has been a great series, if
- 35:41Speaker 1: it is that. Like, Hagler-Hearns was only four rounds, right?
- 35:44Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Like, I feel like it's been...
- 35:46Speaker 1: I feel like it's been that sort of game. And
- 35:50Speaker 1: I feel like the Spurs... And you tell me if
- 35:53Speaker 1: you see where I'm coming from on this one, Ryan.
- 35:57Speaker 1: I feel like everything the Spurs did in Game 3
- 36:03Speaker 1: can be replicated for this game.
- 36:06Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 36:07Speaker 1: I think that if they go back to doing the
- 36:09Speaker 1: things they did in Game 3, it'll be fine.
- 36:12Speaker 2: I mean... if Wimby still has, you know, the three
- 36:18Speaker 2: games left, like he did essentially from the second half
- 36:21Speaker 2: of game two to the first half of game four,
- 36:23Speaker 2: like if he can stretch together two games together like that,
- 36:26Speaker 2: the Spurs are certainly alive. And then you get into
- 36:28Speaker 2: game seven in your building.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Yeah. And if Jalen Brunson forgets about the other guys,
- 36:38Speaker 1: which can happen, And to be fair to him, a
- 36:41Speaker 1: lot of game without Carl and without him in the game,
- 36:44Speaker 1: I could see why he'd be like, man, getting the
- 36:45Speaker 1: ball to the rest of these guys. What are you
- 36:46Speaker 1: talking about?
- 36:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Like without Carl in the game, you can't. And it's
- 36:49Speaker 1: clear that they would try to run it through Carl.
- 36:51Speaker 1: And then you can't run it through Carl anymore. And
- 36:53Speaker 1: so find it. I'll do. I guess I have to
- 36:57Speaker 1: do it.
- 36:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:58Speaker 1: You know, so I guess you wind up. getting caught
- 37:01Speaker 1: and going back to that place. Stephon Castle, another maddening case,
- 37:06Speaker 1: by the way, in that game. He didn't play poorly,
- 37:09Speaker 1: but interestingly, he only took like seven shots.
- 37:12Speaker 2: Yeah, you called that. He's going to be a mystery
- 37:15Speaker 2: for a long, long time for those Spurs fans.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Yeah, he only took seven shots. Vassell, they say he
- 37:21Speaker 1: missed shots, but I feel like I didn't see none
- 37:23Speaker 1: of them. I felt like every time I saw him
- 37:25Speaker 1: put one up. Dylan Harper, late, didn't put up any shots.
- 37:30Speaker 1: And I think part of that, again, is they were
- 37:31Speaker 1: coming down the floor and they were rushing in the
- 37:34Speaker 1: ways they were. Now, Ryan, let me ask you this,
- 37:36Speaker 1: because I think this is the other topic. The officiating
- 37:39Speaker 1: was going to be way high on the list if
- 37:40Speaker 1: the Knicks lost that game. They won that game. I
- 37:48Speaker 1: don't know how bad, if I thought it was as
- 37:50Speaker 1: bad as people made it out to be. I think
- 37:53Speaker 1: a couple of those goal tens were bad, but that
- 37:55Speaker 1: also took the Knicks out the game in a way
- 37:57Speaker 1: that grownups are not supposed to allow themselves to be
- 37:59Speaker 1: taken out of the game.
- 38:01Speaker 2: It has become part of our discussion, these sports, through
- 38:06Speaker 2: the For You tab, is the more ref talk starts,
- 38:12Speaker 2: that snowballs into, because you can always find something wrong
- 38:15Speaker 2: with the officiating. And so once that enters the conversation cycle,
- 38:19Speaker 2: it is almost impossible for it to come back and
- 38:26Speaker 2: break contain once it gets there.
- 38:27Speaker 1: Let me tell you what is never going to be
- 38:29Speaker 1: a trending topic. Excellent officiating.
- 38:32Speaker 2: Ever.
- 38:33Speaker 1: Right? Like, it's never going to be, wow, those calls
- 38:36Speaker 1: were so good.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Everyone did such a great job.
- 38:39Speaker 1: It's never going to happen. And now, yo, we used
- 38:42Speaker 1: to go from joking about games being fixed. Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. People, like,
- 38:47Speaker 1: really think these games are fixed now.
- 38:49Speaker 2: I mean, definitely as people, you know, are more conspiratorial,
- 38:54Speaker 2: you know, putting, you know, jillian crawford on these games
- 38:59Speaker 2: or whoever like like the jokes about putting the extender
- 39:02Speaker 2: on the game yes doesn't it like you know doesn't
- 39:05Speaker 2: feel as uh wholesome as it used.
- 39:06Speaker 1: To yeah yeah yeah no like these are these are
- 39:10Speaker 1: the these are the things that we've got here like
- 39:13Speaker 1: this is what it is and so i'd be curious
- 39:14Speaker 1: to know how that goes in game five because you
- 39:17Speaker 1: talk about the extender i mean we know he's going
- 39:20Speaker 1: to be there right right He being uh scott foster.
- 39:24Speaker 2: Yeah scott foster joy crawford's the old one.
- 39:26Speaker 3: Yeah yeah scott foster retired now yeah yeah scott foster
- 39:30Speaker 3: will be there to extend that and then in game
- 39:32Speaker 3: six i guess is that's what tony brothers is going
- 39:35Speaker 3: to show up or is.
- 39:38Speaker 1: It going to be what they did earlier in these
- 39:40Speaker 1: series and they had them out there together like you
- 39:44Speaker 1: know them pictures that people put on the internet when
- 39:46Speaker 1: it'd be like two good looking women with each other
- 39:48Speaker 1: And they hug it and somebody be like, ooh, the
- 39:49Speaker 1: mac and cheese and the yams are touching.
- 39:51Speaker 2: I think it's more your algorithm than mine.
- 39:55Speaker 1: You should come over here.
- 39:57Speaker 2: Yeah, that's on me. That's my mistake.
- 39:59Speaker 1: Yeah, Scott Foster and Tony Brothers, that is the opposite. Like,
- 40:04Speaker 1: that is like some unholy version of the Omar brother
- 40:08Speaker 1: Muzon like pulling up on you type of situation. Like,
- 40:12Speaker 1: that's what that is. Wouldn't shock me. We're going to
- 40:14Speaker 1: see one or both of them. In game five and one,
- 40:20Speaker 1: between game five and game six, we will see both.
- 40:23Speaker 2: Yes.
- 40:24Speaker 1: We will see. That's all to say it is about
- 40:26Speaker 1: Tony Brothers right fast. No matter where Tony Brothers was
- 40:29Speaker 1: in this world, ain't no way in the world that
- 40:30Speaker 1: I would see Tony Brothers and think that he made
- 40:32Speaker 1: his living running.
- 40:34Speaker 2: It really is amazing the people who refereed these games
- 40:37Speaker 2: doing high leverage games. physical activity for three hours at
- 40:41Speaker 2: a time and you look at them and they look
- 40:42Speaker 2: like dudes.
- 40:43Speaker 1: And having to make decisions.
- 40:45Speaker 2: And having to cut. It's not just running. It's not
- 40:48Speaker 2: a marathon. They got to be agile. They got to
- 40:50Speaker 2: change direction.
- 40:51Speaker 1: And rotations and all this stuff. You got it from here.
- 40:55Speaker 1: You got it from there.
- 40:56Speaker 2: I'm surprised these guys don't have an epidemic of tearing
- 40:59Speaker 2: their Achilles like the players do.
- 41:01Speaker 1: No, it's a lot going on, man. It's a lot.
- 41:03Speaker 1: But we're going to see. We're going to learn a
- 41:06Speaker 1: lot about a lot of people. in game five. I
- 41:10Speaker 1: think the other thing, too, that Victor is going to
- 41:11Speaker 1: have to pick up out of this game was in
- 41:14Speaker 1: that second half, I think they just thought that they
- 41:15Speaker 1: had the luxury to be out there styling. And why
- 41:21Speaker 1: are you shooting all these threes?
- 41:23Speaker 2: Right.
- 41:23Speaker 1: There was just no reason for them to not figure
- 41:25Speaker 1: out ways to run the clock and get closer to
- 41:30Speaker 1: the basket. And they blew it. They blew the chance
- 41:35Speaker 1: to really, really, really take control, and set up the pivotal,
- 41:42Speaker 1: pivotal Game 5. Instead, it is now, for the Spurs,
- 41:48Speaker 1: a do or die. No, no. It's a must win.
- 41:52Speaker 2: Must win.
- 41:53Speaker 1: Game 5. Must win Game 5. That is where we are.
- 41:58Speaker 1: But ladies and gentlemen, thanks so much for joining us
