- 1:44He is a Super Bowl champion. Ladies and gentlemen.
- 1:47We are now talking to FAC X Falcons X Giant X Bengals
- 1:52linebacker, the one and only Michael Boley.
- 1:55Mike, what's up, buddy? Hey, how's it going, man?
- 1:58We're good, man. I mean, obviously good.
- 2:00First of all, I appreciate you guys for having me all man well.
- 2:04First of all, I, I want to know what you're doing, but now that
- 2:07you're away from obviously sports, are you working in the
- 2:10health field? I do some work.
- 2:13My mom works here at the hospital, so I got to do some
- 2:16work over here. I got it because, you know, I,
- 2:18when I, when I see the kind of stuff that you're wearing, it
- 2:21only tells me hospital, it tells me something in the whole field
- 2:24because scrubs. I, that's hospital.
- 2:28I, I work in the, the hospital field here and there.
- 2:31So I know a little bit about that.
- 2:33You will never see me wear a scrub because whenever I wear
- 2:36scrubs, they always ask me, are you a nurse?
- 2:39No, my girlfriend's a nurse. Why the hell I would be wearing
- 2:42scrubs but nevertheless. You wear them every day.
- 2:44You are a scrub. You know what Kiss.
- 2:45My butt goba ass licker. Anyways, Michael, we're very
- 2:54happy to have you on. I obviously a lot of Giant fans
- 2:57love you on this show. Speedy's a Giant fan, Poops is a
- 3:00Giant fan. And our executive producer, he's
- 3:03sitting backstage, Mr. Aaron Fish, Fishman, very excited to
- 3:07have you on because you did win a Super Bowl with the New York
- 3:09Giants. We'll get into that.
- 3:11But first, what have you been doing doing since you've left
- 3:14the NFL? How?
- 3:15What have you? Have you been working with
- 3:17organizations? What have you been doing?
- 3:20Man I've did a little bit of everything since since I
- 3:23retired. Mostly time with the kids
- 3:29lately. I mean, I've, my twins are 7, so
- 3:32they're busy non-stop during the weeks with gymnastics and
- 3:36tumbling and cheerleading. And my second oldest is just
- 3:42started his senior season at the University of Virginia playing,
- 3:46playing left tackle. He's playing, playing pretty
- 3:49well. So, you know, spend a lot of
- 3:51time making sure, you know, I keep an eye on him and, you
- 3:54know, making sure he's, he's doing good things both on and
- 3:57off the field. Well, offensive tackle, that
- 3:59means this kids probably like 6465, maybe even bigger than
- 4:02that. How big is your son?
- 4:06He's about, he's almost 66, just just under 66.
- 4:10He's about 3/15, 3:20-ish. Yeah.
- 4:14Big kid. Oh man, I can't wait to see him
- 4:17in the NFL like Daddy Dukes so. Hopefully one day.
- 4:21All right, so let's get into that 2011 season.
- 4:24I know Giant fans love the sound of Super Bowls and Super Bowl
- 4:28championships. What was it like playing for a
- 4:32team that was very route well-rounded?
- 4:35Yeah. JPP.
- 4:36Yeah. Justin Tuck, you had an
- 4:38unbelievable OC human you are. What?
- 4:40What kind of team was that? Super Bowl champion New York
- 4:43Giants team. Man, like you said, it was a
- 4:47great all around team. You know it.
- 4:50It's crazy to think back to like how long it took us in the year
- 4:54to to get everything rolling that year, because I mean, we
- 4:58had the pretty much the whole team throughout the same year,
- 5:01throughout that whole year. I mean, we, you know, we had a
- 5:03few games here and there with, you know, some players in and
- 5:06out of the lineup, but for the most part the same team.
- 5:09And it's just, you know, it just took us that one game, you know,
- 5:12that game against The Jets for us to really just.
- 5:15Thank you. Hop on that wave and and and
- 5:17ride it out through the rest of the rest of that season.
- 5:20You know, I was at that game. It was, and I'll never forget,
- 5:22it was Christmas Eve. I was at that game.
- 5:26I got a chance to enjoy. By the way, just so you know
- 5:28that after the game, after The Jets lost that game and I
- 5:32remember that was the that was the the growth of Victor Cruz.
- 5:36If I, if I, I don't, I didn't forget, but I I got a chance to
- 5:40see my friend piss off somebody because he ran into the car and
- 5:43then they chased us all the way through the city when we when we
- 5:46had to park our car next to the tree and hide because these six
- 5:50guys were looking for us because my friend was absolutely drunk.
- 5:53But that's a whole another story.
- 5:55We were very upset. But yeah, I remember that
- 5:57season. It really made me sick to my
- 5:59stomach. And I remember it was Smith that
- 6:02missed the tackle against Victor Cruz and he ran it in.
- 6:05Eli Manning did not have his best game in the first half, but
- 6:08in the second-half, Eli Manny took over and your defense took
- 6:12over in the second-half. Made me sick to my stomach, just
- 6:14so you know. I mean, you know, we love the,
- 6:18you know. Love make people happy.
- 6:20I figured it. Made me happy because I had AI
- 6:23had a that year, because that year was the Dream Team Eagles
- 6:25allegedly that was going to happen.
- 6:27So I had a couple of friends that were Eagles fans.
- 6:29Yeah, I had nightmares that year.
- 6:30Yeah. Yeah, since you're a second tier
- 6:32Eagles fan, yes, I know they probably had that kind of thing
- 6:35too, but obviously that was supposed to be their big year.
- 6:37I still thought the Giants were good though, Like I thought they
- 6:39would make the playoffs, but they were.
- 6:40He was like, oh, their Eagles are going to wait out, they're
- 6:42going to make the playoffs and then you guys beat the Giants.
- 6:44So that whole adversity in the regular season, like the O Seven
- 6:46team was like the postseason was the difficult one, but they made
- 6:49the playoff season. You guys had to overcome of a
- 6:50lot of it in the regular season, especially with the linebacking
- 6:52corps. What was that defense like
- 6:53between the defensive line and all those linebackers like you
- 6:56and Chase Blackburn coming in? All these random guys that
- 6:59really played well. You know, I tell, I tell.
- 7:03I've been telling people over the years like having AD line
- 7:05like that, like it's it. It makes life a lot easier in
- 7:10the backyard, like you say. You mentioned JPP, Tuck, OC
- 7:17Kiwi, Chris Canton was on that line.
- 7:21Rocky Bernard, man, you know, like if you look at the depth
- 7:27that we had, like you can just throw any bunch of guys out
- 7:30there. They're going to get the job
- 7:31done. They're going to get pressure on
- 7:32a quarterback. And you know, Speaking of Chase,
- 7:36man, I love Chase. I love Chase to death.
- 7:40Chase was at home up until the week we played Green Bay that
- 7:43year. And I remember I pulled my
- 7:46hamstring. They brought Chase in and man,
- 7:49he, he picked up like he never left.
- 7:52He was like, dude, like, have you been here all season?
- 7:54Like, you know, he jumped right in the playbook.
- 7:56You know, they, they put him on the field and he was like, he
- 7:58never left. Obviously coming from the
- 8:00Falcons to New York, What people don't understand how different
- 8:04it is when you get to New York coming from somewhere else.
- 8:06What was that a big adjustment for you as far as like the media
- 8:10or like just like another day? That's all definitely.
- 8:15I mean, first and foremost, I spent the whole first part of my
- 8:18life in the South, Born and raised in Alabama, College in
- 8:21Mississippi, being there, it's, it's like, you know, I'm in the
- 8:25South. So I'm used to the South just in
- 8:27everything. And I get to New York and my mom
- 8:32has spent some time and she was travel nursing when I was like
- 8:36in high school. She spent some time in Newark
- 8:39and a couple other places around the New York, New Jersey area.
- 8:43And so she had, she had been up that way before.
- 8:45And I remember one of my first weeks out there, I'm at the
- 8:47grocery store and it's like simple things.
- 8:49I'm like mom, I call my mom. Like I don't recognize any of
- 8:52these brands of bread, like what's good And but no, just as
- 8:59far as the organization. I mean, nothing bad about
- 9:02Atlanta. You know, Atlanta was great.
- 9:04I love, I love Mr. Blank. You know, he he's a great team
- 9:07owner. You know, he did a lot of good
- 9:08things the team down there. But it was just a different,
- 9:11different atmosphere coming to New York, like you say, you
- 9:13mentioned the media man, like I remember in Atlanta, you know,
- 9:17yeah. You know, you play a game, you
- 9:19know, after the game or even after price, you might have one,
- 9:22maybe two people come by your locker want to talk to you.
- 9:27May you get to New York. And it's like at least 6 to 10
- 9:31people. Every.
- 9:32Time you're like wow, like this is.
- 9:35This is a much bigger. Media market than than what I
- 9:38was used to. So that it took it took a little
- 9:40bit of getting used to because you know, like, like I said, you
- 9:43know, they weren't even coming after practice and I wasn't used
- 9:46to like you normally you get a big crowd.
- 9:47It was normally after a game, not after practice.
- 9:50I want to get into the playoffs and how clutch.
- 9:53I mean, you got a chance to watch Eli Manning in 2007.
- 9:56Do it the way he did it against an undefeated Patriot team.
- 10:00But then go into the playoffs again and and go on a run and
- 10:05actually beat the Green Bay Packers, but didn't beat Brett
- 10:08Favre. Now he beat Aaron Rodgers in the
- 10:11same place in Green Bay. What what type of player, what
- 10:14kind of ice in the veins of Eli Manning that you can explain to
- 10:19us? What type of player is he in the
- 10:21locker? What type of player is he when
- 10:23you're playing in a big game on a football field, in a, in a in
- 10:26the absolute freezing cold of Green Bay?
- 10:30Eli's not a rah, rah guy. Like you see a lot of these
- 10:32guys, you know, especially when games get really close and it's
- 10:36coming down that fourth quarter, they're, you know, they up and
- 10:40down the sideline, they're pumping their guys up.
- 10:43That was never Eli. Eli was just him.
- 10:46You know, it's funny because him and Peyton are completely
- 10:48opposites, but you know, you, you see, like the way he
- 10:53composed himself and like, he just, he's just him, you know,
- 10:56he attacked the field and it's like something happens.
- 10:59You know, his, you know, you've seen the videos.
- 11:01His face just never changes, whether it's good or bad.
- 11:05He's just got that look on his face like, Oh yeah, you know, it
- 11:07happened. But that it doesn't make any
- 11:10sense because when I now I see him away from football, the guys
- 11:13in commercials, he's prancing and dancing around.
- 11:16He's doing commercials with Odell Beckham.
- 11:18He's he's playing practical jokes on people.
- 11:21Ex players him at Baker Mayfield.
- 11:23I see. Was he that type of player in
- 11:25the locker room? Would he play play practical
- 11:27jokes on you guys? All the time.
- 11:30My my first, my O 9, my first year in New York, remember I
- 11:36came out of a meeting, I get my phone out of my locker.
- 11:40It's in Japanese, so. For him like if you didn't.
- 11:43If you left your phone unlocked he would go through and change
- 11:46your language and luckily. Luckily I had my.
- 11:50IPad, so I could just, like, follow the steps of how to get
- 11:53my language changed back. And it's like, I'm looking
- 11:58around. They're like, oh, yeah, Eli did
- 12:00that. Yeah.
- 12:02He does stuff like that all the time.
- 12:03I'm like seriously, but it's like the it's like the subtle
- 12:07things like he, he played like a little practical jokes like that
- 12:09all the time. It's funny, we actually a couple
- 12:11of years ago had Rich Soibert, who was a guard on that team,
- 12:14and he was saying like, oh, Eli's one of the funnier guys on
- 12:17the team. But I I always did, I always did
- 12:19the funnier stuff too. And he was like, I'm going
- 12:21through all this stuff, but he was taking shots at Eli and
- 12:23stuff when he was on the show, like as a coach now it's kind of
- 12:26funny. We actually had a couple of them
- 12:27too. Brandon Jacobs has been on our
- 12:28show. Prince Abukamar we interviewed
- 12:30at the Super Bowl. Justin Tuck.
- 12:32Justin Tuck We interviewed years ago at one of Tom Coughlin's
- 12:35events, so I want to move on to Tom Coughlin like he was.
- 12:38Obviously as a Giant fan, my favorite coach was so annoying
- 12:40when they got rid of him and the Giants have not been the same
- 12:42since then. Annoying.
- 12:43Upsetting. Yes, definitely.
- 12:45But it was always thought of that way, like, like on the
- 12:47field when you're seeing him, he's like, oh, he's a tough
- 12:49nosed guy, but he was always one of the best players, coaches in
- 12:51the league. Like, did you get that kind of
- 12:53perspective with him? Coughlin was a hard coach.
- 12:55He's one of the coaches, like just on the field.
- 12:57Like he'd make you not. Like him, but then you talk to
- 12:59him off the field, he is the nicest guy ever.
- 13:02Like on that field, he's Drake. They will be followed or just
- 13:06won't be. Part of the group my first year
- 13:08had surgery pre camp. He wouldn't say it directly.
- 13:11To me, he'd come to the trainer that's standing by me while I'm,
- 13:13you know, doing the exercise bike or something.
- 13:15He'd say, what's up with this guy?
- 13:17Like when's he coming back? Try to throw like little subtle
- 13:19jabs at you. And I'm like, dude, like I, I
- 13:22had surgery. Like, what do you want me to do?
- 13:23He was hard, you know, But everybody loved playing for him.
- 13:26They loved his attitude. They loved his approach to the
- 13:28game. But he's a great coach.
- 13:30There's always seems to be be a guy that steps up.
- 13:33Obviously you had huge names on that team, but there's there's
- 13:37always that unsung hero. Who?
- 13:38The unsung hero? Is, I don't think enough.
- 13:40People give a lot of credit. To the job.
- 13:42That and I'm. Going to say it's three people
- 13:44enter a role. Beyond Grant, Kitty, Phelps, I
- 13:47don't think a lot of people give enough.
- 13:48Credit to the job that those three guys did on the defense,
- 13:52like for those. Three, because of the way.
- 13:56We did our defense like it was hard for a lot of teams to put
- 14:02us at a disadvantage because we could put because Antrey was
- 14:06playing in our our nickel cornerback.
- 14:10But when teams will. Try to do a lot of motions and
- 14:13crazy. Sets that kind of throw us off a
- 14:15little bit. And a lot of different.
- 14:17Sets and motions and all that good stuff, and kudos to those.
- 14:21Guys, for real. Leon Grant and Kenny Phillips.
- 14:25Kenny Phillips who? Who doesn't forget about Kenny
- 14:27Phillips? We are, as everybody knows, we
- 14:30are talking to former Falcons, Giants and Bengals linebacker
- 14:33Michael Boley, Super Bowl champion Michael Boley.
- 14:36And if you don't remember him, he was part of that linebacking
- 14:39corps of the New York Giants that went all the way to the
- 14:42Super Bowl and surprise, the the one and only New England
- 14:46Patriots. Now going into the Super Bowl.
- 14:48What was it like experiencing that weak week and a half all
- 14:54the way to the Super Bowl and getting a chance to step on a
- 14:56field with one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, Tom
- 14:59Brady? Where you starstruck when you
- 15:02got on a field and you saw Tom Brady on the other side?
- 15:05Where you starstruck when you are on one side of the sidelines
- 15:08and looking across and seeing Bill Belichick?
- 15:10What was it like playing against two of the greatest at both
- 15:14respectable positions? Well, just the the week in
- 15:17general was just amazing. You know, even just actually
- 15:21making it to the Super Bowl and then all the stuff that led up
- 15:24to. It you know we.
- 15:26You know, we had all this stuff going on, you know, within the
- 15:29Giants and throughout the city and then but as far as playing
- 15:34them, that was actually our third time playing them that
- 15:37season. So we played in the last pre
- 15:40season game of the year. I mean the starters.
- 15:41Didn't play, but you know, we played them as a team.
- 15:44We played them that year during the year in New England and we
- 15:49beat them there during the regular season.
- 15:52And so to kind of see them again, it was like it was
- 15:54another, you know, it's kind of like it was kind of like, all
- 15:57right, we we've seen this show before.
- 15:59Like what can we expect? You know, we're still kind of,
- 16:03you know, we everyone know, you know, everyone knows Bill is a
- 16:06great coach and they know how he is a great game plan for every
- 16:12team that he goes against. And so we kind of thought they
- 16:16would throw some wrinkles at us. So we kind of didn't know what
- 16:19to be prepared for. But to look across him and that
- 16:22at them in that moment, like it was a, it was a really in all
- 16:28moment, like, wow, like I'm on this stage against this team.
- 16:31It's like, wow. So seeing what Tom Brady and
- 16:35Bill Belichick have become now, obviously Belichick with the big
- 16:37loss the first week of college season.
- 16:39Why do you have to bring that up?
- 16:40This has nothing to do with what Bill Belichick has done as a
- 16:44head coach in the NFL. And we talked about Tom Brady
- 16:46last week, obviously owning the Raiders, too, and the NFL kind
- 16:49of giving him a little bit of special treatment broadcasting.
- 16:52Now he has this $375 million contract.
- 16:55What are your thoughts Are like both of them like since they've
- 16:57parted ways? You mean you say you say assist
- 17:02them two harder ways? Yeah, well, Brady and Belichick.
- 17:05And then and now, now the NFL changes the rules for Tom Brady.
- 17:09He's 10% owner over there with the the Las Vegas Raiders.
- 17:13And now they they decide, hey, you know what, we're going to
- 17:15skip the rules. And now Tom Brady can go on the
- 17:18field, he can go into the locker rooms and he can actually be a
- 17:22play by play, you know, broadcaster for his own team's
- 17:25games. What are your thoughts to the
- 17:27NFL changing those rules for the one and only Tom Brady?
- 17:31Surprise, you know, the league is, you know, for one, the
- 17:35league is forever changing. You know, we've all, they've
- 17:37always been one to kind of put some stuff aside to, you know,
- 17:41change some rules and kind of see.
- 17:42How it would go but. You know Tom Brady is Tom Brady.
- 17:47You know, you. You know he's arguably the GOAT.
- 17:50You know, at the quarterback position, you know, for him to
- 17:53play as well as he did for as long as he did.
- 17:56And so for then for him to go off the field and still kind of
- 17:59be a symbol for a lot of people, like you said, being a minority
- 18:03owner but also being in the broadcast booth, yeah, I think
- 18:06things better open up windows for more people don't want to do
- 18:10stuff. As everybody knows, we are
- 18:11talking to former Falcons, Giants and Bengals linebacker
- 18:14Michael Boley, and I want to apologize to the fans.
- 18:17There is no video because Michael Boley is an Arizona.
- 18:20There's a storm coming, so he's been going in and out.
- 18:23But we're very happy to have Michael on.
- 18:25I know he's a busy guy. He's got his son at six foot
- 18:28six, 330 lbs of absolute bulldozing offensive tackle in
- 18:34college right now. Hopefully he'll be in the NFL
- 18:37very, very soon and we will maybe we'll get him in the
- 18:40studio. I, I would love to see a six
- 18:42foot six, 330 LB offensive tackle in the studio right now.
- 18:46But nevertheless, Michael, before we let you go, is there a
- 18:49particular player as an offensive, as a defensive player
- 18:54that you didn't like to play and and who was the guy that talked
- 18:59the most crap on the football field against you?
- 19:02Gosh, there was a couple of them, but Victoria stands out in
- 19:05my mind. Michael Vick, Yeah.
- 19:07Oh, man, you know, and that's just for me, like as a defender,
- 19:10like, you know, that's kind of like guys now, like you hate to
- 19:13see Lamar because, you know, 1 he can, he can't throw the ball,
- 19:17but he's extremely dangerous with his legs.
- 19:21And it's like, you know, for both of those kind of guys, like
- 19:25regardless of how close or how many people you threw at him in
- 19:28the backfield, you never really had him down until you had him
- 19:31down. And so that was that was one.
- 19:36But obviously, you know, you play against, you know, guys
- 19:39like Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, you know, Aaron Rod, those guys
- 19:44are extremely smart. Drew Brees, he was another one,
- 19:49and those guys are really good at making sex at the line.
- 19:53So those are guys you hate to play against because regardless
- 19:56of how much game planning you do, they'll come up and see one
- 19:59little small thing that looks off to them and next thing you
- 20:03know you think you got it figured out and they're changing
- 20:05the whole play up. OK, Who talked, who spoke the
- 20:09most crap to you on the football field?
- 20:11I mean across the field before the quarterback, you know, calls
- 20:16the ball and and calls the play, who is speaking what offensive
- 20:20lineman, what, what wide receiver, whatever.
- 20:23Who was the guy that spoke the most crap on the other side of
- 20:27the field when you were playing against them?
- 20:30Man Steve Smith. We've heard that many, many
- 20:36times. We've.
- 20:37Had like Steve, Steve was, you know, especially when I was in
- 20:41Atlanta, Steve talked it up and he backed it up like he's one of
- 20:44those guys like he going to come out, he going to let you know,
- 20:45like it's going to be a long day for y'all and man, like it's,
- 20:52it's tough. You know, when you get a guy who
- 20:54you know, who's talking to you like that and then you know your
- 20:57mind like you know what, we got to set, we got to set this guy
- 20:59up. He's doing too much talking and
- 21:02then he comes out and he's still getting making catches on you,
- 21:04getting getting yards after the cats.
- 21:07And it's like, man, like, I can't stand this guy.
- 21:11But you know, Steve was especially, especially in his
- 21:13younger days, like Steve, Steve was like that.
- 21:16And then I remember playing Carolina when I think my first
- 21:22year in New York might have been my first or second year and I'm
- 21:27chasing there was a run play and I'm chasing a ball down.
- 21:29He came in and cracked back, blocked me.
- 21:33And so I'm thinking, OK, you know, that's Steve.
- 21:36Like he going to be talking trash.
- 21:38Like the next series. He actually came up was like, my
- 21:41bad about that here earlier. And it kind of threw me.
- 21:43I'm like, I'm like, he's I'm like he's messing with me,
- 21:45right? Like I'm like, I never seen
- 21:48Steve Smith like apologize to anybody.
- 21:50Like I'm like, I know him. Like he's got to be messing with
- 21:52me. But to me, like, I think that
- 21:54just showed maturity. Like, you know, he was getting,
- 21:57you know, he was getting older and he's like, you know what,
- 21:59I'm all that childish, petty stuff is behind him so.
- 22:05It was Steve Smith. Interesting.
- 22:07It's not the first time we've heard this on this show and it
- 22:10probably won't be the last time with all the different defensive
- 22:13players that we've had on this. Show, especially from that
- 22:15Atlanta team. We had like 4 of them, Steve.
- 22:17Smith and I, I've never met Steve Smith, but I've heard so
- 22:21many stories. I, I spoke to Brandon Marshall a
- 22:24couple of times and, and Brandon Marshall is an offensive player.
- 22:27And I'm not talking about the linebacker Brandon Marshall.
- 22:29I'm talking about the wide receiver, Brandon Marshall.
- 22:32And I, I remember who was the guy that spoke to most crap on
- 22:36the football field and he says, well, I was on the field with
- 22:38him, but the guy on one sideline to the other, it was Steve
- 22:41Smith. He said Steve Smith didn't shut
- 22:44the F up. He, he just kept yapping,
- 22:45yapping, yapping. And it didn't matter to him who
- 22:48he was playing against, how big the guy was, how small the guy
- 22:52was. He was a pest.
- 22:54He was a flea. He was a guy that didn't stop
- 22:56yapping. So not surprised.
- 22:59That Michael Bolton, I mean, you love, you love those kind of
- 23:02guys on your team, though. I mean, we had, I mean we had
- 23:04Brandon Jacobs. Brandon Brandon was taught
- 23:08before the game and he going to let you know like you're not
- 23:11going to tackle me. He let guys know he's like not a
- 23:14single one of y'all is going to tackle me.
- 23:16It's going to take a group effort.
- 23:17Yeah. Well, and every time it took a
- 23:19group effort to get him down well.
- 23:21Speaking of Brandon, Brandon Jacobs, he's been on our show
- 23:24quite a few times and decided to disappear and he owes me and
- 23:30Speedy a nice dinner and a Jets and a Jets Giants game.
- 23:35Now, Brandon, if you're listening to the show and we got
- 23:38to get Brandon Marshall, he must have changed his Brandon Jacobs
- 23:40back on the show. He must have changed.
- 23:42His number twice. I can't like even his e-mail.
- 23:44I can't get a hold of him. Ever I I I we definitely got to
- 23:47get back him back on the show because he owes us a nice steak
- 23:50dinner and a game to go to with him and his son, by the way, and
- 23:53his son huge, so huge and has a chance to make the NFL next
- 23:57year. So very excited to get a chance
- 23:59to see is it what is this is the second year of college football,
- 24:03I think, I think. He's.
- 24:03No, this is freshman year. This is freshman.
- 24:06Yeah, I. Think he was red, started last
- 24:08year. Okay, so this is his freshman
- 24:10year, so two more years of college football and Brandon
- 24:14Marshall's son is like a five star recruit offensive tackle.
- 24:18So very interesting. Both your sons are tackles and
- 24:21have a chance to make it to the NFL.
- 24:23So very interesting story. Brandon Marshall's son is 67300
- 24:27and 20 lbs. So Braden Jacobs, and he's been
- 24:31on our show too. By the way, he was sitting right
- 24:34next to Daddy Dukes. But Michael, we'd love to get
- 24:37you on the show again when you're in, you know, in a place
- 24:41where we can interview you even better.
- 24:42I know you have a lot, lot more other stories to get into when
- 24:45it comes to your giant years and your football career, but the
- 24:49fact that you came on, it didn't matter where you were sitting in
- 24:52the car or sitting on a bench at a park.
- 24:56We really appreciate the time, buddy.
- 24:58Oh no problem man, I appreciate you guys taking the time to have
- 25:01me on. Absolutely.
- 25:02And we're going to get you on again, so we're going to reach
- 25:04out to you. Oh, for sure.
- 25:07Enjoy the rest of your week and stay safe after.
- 25:11Hopefully it's not too bad of a storm.
- 25:15Yeah, you know, we get those little dust storms out here from
- 25:17time to time. Say hello to Mama Dukes too, by
- 25:20the way. All right, I will man.
- 25:22Appreciate it. Michael Boley, ladies and
- 25:24gentlemen, Super Bowl champion Michael Boley and 2011 New York
- 25:30Giants. Great story, great person.
- 25:33Obviously you can tell that this guy is, is one of the best, one
- 25:38of the more interesting interviews we've had when it
- 25:40came to those New York Giants Super Bowl championship team.
- 25:44So we've had a couple of them. They've been on the show and
- 25:48I've been, I have a connection with Hakeem Nicks.
- 25:51I want to get Hakeem Nicks on the show.
- 25:53He I want to see what he's doing now, obviously away from
- 25:58football and and and moving forward in his offseason career.
- 26:02So I know he's doing something with the foundation, but I'm I'm
- 26:05working on getting Hakeem Nicks on the show.
- 26:07So that's that's going to be fun as well.
- 26:09All right, ladies and gentlemen, we call this next same segment
- 26:13in Like Flint. Welcome to show it, my lady.
- 26:16I've often heard that you'd give me a warm welcome if ever we met
- 26:18again. In like flan flan flan.
- 26:25What about I? I had to take a shit.
- 26:27All right, ladies and gentlemen, if you don't know in like Flynn.
- 26:31So I'm going to go through certain subjects and I want to
- 26:35go into fantasy and I want to go into the running backs in
- 26:38fantasy football. We were were speaking about this
- 26:41earlier and I see their ranking and I've been looking at all the
- 26:45different Yahoo rankings, ESPN rankings and all the different
- 26:49rankings, but this one really stood out from all the rest.
- 26:52So I'm going to go through the rankings and where they ranked
- 26:55these guys, and I'm going to give you a thumbs up or thumbs
- 26:58down if I believe that they should be placed in these
- 27:02positions. I'm going to go from 12:50.
- 27:05All right #10 Chase Brown, the Bengals running back, a lot of
- 27:11people like this guy. A lot of people think he's one
- 27:14of the more underrated running backs right now in the NFL.
- 27:17He had an interesting season last year.
- 27:19He, he was up and down when it came to health, but played a
- 27:22significant amount of time last year and showed himself to be a
- 27:26pretty good offensive option for Joe Burrow.
- 27:29I just don't think he's this high.
- 27:31And I, I don't know why these fantasy drafts have rated him as
- 27:34high as they had had him. I, I was arguing with Mikey C
- 27:38today and he said I, I would have went with Chase Brown if,
- 27:41if I was drafting 10 or 11 in some kind of, you know, in any
- 27:45fantasy draft. So especially a fantasy draft of
- 27:4814. So I'm going to give this two
- 27:50thumbs down #9 Josh Jacobs. I'm very surprised Josh Jacobs
- 27:57was in higher when it came to these these fantasy points that
- 28:01Josh Jacobs, when he is hot, when he is healthy, Josh Jacobs
- 28:05can do so many things. He, he can catch the ball in the
- 28:08backfield. He's he's very good at putting
- 28:11up a yardage and and he's, he's a lot better than people think
- 28:14he is when it comes to the open field.
- 28:16I would have thought Josh Jacobs would be 6 or even 5 right now
- 28:21in in fantasy drafts. This guy could be strategically
- 28:25if he stays healthy strategically in a draft.
- 28:29I'm drafting him in my top five. So I'm going to give this two
- 28:32thumbs down by. The way, by the way, he is your
- 28:34#2 running back on your old 22 team.
- 28:36Yes, I like Josh Jacobs a lot. Kyron Williams, number 8 on this
- 28:42draft. Paul, here's the thing, I like
- 28:44Kyron Williams. He can't stay healthy.
- 28:46He hasn't been healthy for the last two seasons.
- 28:48When he is in, he's very important to an offense, a Sean
- 28:51McVay offense that is predominantly A Kuka Nakua and
- 28:55Cooper Cup over the last couple of years.
- 28:57Now you have Devante Adams. Are we going to see a lot of
- 29:00Kyron Williams this year? That's the question.
- 29:02I know we had him in the Savior tears.
- 29:05Here's the thing, I do believe he's going to be a good running
- 29:09back, but is he rated in a top ten?
- 29:12I'm going to say no. So I'm going to give this
- 29:15another two thumbs down. I, I do not believe Kyron
- 29:18Williams is in my top 10 when it comes to running backs #7 Ashton
- 29:23Genti. Ashton Genti to me is a top five
- 29:27running back this year. Top five.
- 29:30I know he's a rookie and I know a lot of people question if he's
- 29:33there and he should be there. I I I disagree, but besides
- 29:37Brock Bowers and and Myers, Myers might not be there by the
- 29:40end of the season. He's going to want to be trade.
- 29:42He's demanded a trade. Geno Smith, they're going to be
- 29:45there. And Pete Carroll, Pete Carroll
- 29:47runs the ball. Seattle, Marshawn Lynch.
- 29:50That's what. Yeah, Penny over there.
- 29:52He likes to run the ball. Run ball first, run ball second,
- 29:56then throw the ball with Brock Bowers, Astringente should be a
- 29:59lot higher than 7. So another two thumbs down.
- 30:03Jonathan Taylor, number six. I think this is a perfect spot
- 30:07for Jonathan Taylor. This is a guy that could be an
- 30:10MVP candidate this year if he has a hot season.
- 30:12They don't have a quarterback now.
- 30:15We've heard this by Coach Fish. Daniel Jones is not the right
- 30:18guy, but Jonathan Taylor's going to give Daniel Jones a little
- 30:22bit more time to set, set his feet and throw the ball.
- 30:25Daniel Jones can run outside of the pocket.
- 30:28I like Jonathan Taylor at six, so I'm going to give him two
- 30:30thumbs up. Christian McCaffrey #5 I like
- 30:35Christian McCaffrey at #5 now anymore higher than #5 I would
- 30:40not write Christian McCaffrey. The problem with Christian
- 30:43McCaffrey is his injuries and his health.
- 30:46This guy is one year older than his age and he got a lot of
- 30:50money last year and that's why they brought Robertson in.
- 30:54I I really do believe they brought Brian Robinson in
- 30:56because they don't know if Christian McCaffrey could be
- 30:58healthy. We just talking about that with
- 31:00Chris Lombardi. That's the problem.
- 31:02If Christian McCaffrey could stay healthy, this guy's a top
- 31:05three running back in the draft. So I'm going to give it 2 thumbs
- 31:08up. Jameer Gibbs, I love this spot.
- 31:12I think he's absolutely #4 in any fantasy draft, when it comes
- 31:17to the running backs, I love them.
- 31:19I think he's going to be, he's going to play a big part in
- 31:22Detroit's running game this year.
- 31:23Montgomery still there, David Montgomery.
- 31:25But this is going to be all Jameer Gibbs this year.
- 31:28David Montgomery will be 1/3. I would see a third, 3rd down
- 31:34back. That's where I I see him.
- 31:36Maybe he'll run the ball here and there on the first down.
- 31:38But Jameer Gibbs is going to be having, he's going to have a lot
- 31:41of touches this year and he's going to be so fun to watch.
- 31:44So I'm going to, I'm going to give him two thumbs up.
- 31:47Bijan Robinson #3 I first of all, Bichon Robinson, to me, you
- 31:52could put him #1 or #2 the fact that they have Derrick Henry on
- 31:56over him is crazy. But Bichon Robinson, he's always
- 32:00healthy. To me, he should be the number
- 32:03one back in this year's draft because he's always healthy.
- 32:06Plays hurt, he puts a big numbers and on that offense he's
- 32:11going to touch the ball at least 25 to 30 * a game and he can
- 32:15catch the ball in the backfield. He says efficient is any running
- 32:18back in this year's fantasy draft.
- 32:21So 2 thumbs down. I think you should be higher.
- 32:24Derrick Henry #2 like Derrick Henry, like him a lot.
- 32:28I think he's the 6th best back in in this year's fantasy.
- 32:32He had a great season last year, but he's older.
- 32:34Remember he's lugging a lot of weight and he's more of a
- 32:37second-half running back, not a first half running back.
- 32:40Over the years. This past last past season, he
- 32:43was very good all season long and he was healthy really all
- 32:47season long. So is Derrick Henry going to
- 32:49stay healthy? That's the problem.
- 32:51And I, I don't know if he would be this high.
- 32:53So I'm going to give him two thumbs down and Saquon Barkley
- 32:56number one. You can argue Saquon Barkley
- 32:59should be 1 or maybe even 2. I think he's a little too high.
- 33:02I, I have to see Saquon Barkley go back-to-back years healthy.
- 33:07I don't know if he's going to stay healthy this year.
- 33:09He won a Super Bowl. He proved himself last year with
- 33:12and almost breaking Eric Dickerson's record.
- 33:15I, I don't think he's number one.
- 33:16I think he's #2 I think Bijon Robinson was #1 in this year's
- 33:20fantasy draft. So I'm going to give him two
- 33:22thumbs down. So that, ladies and gentlemen,
- 33:24is my in like Flynn of the week. I went to fantasy and the top 10
- 33:29running backs as far as what I've seen, and I kind of
- 33:33characterized from ESPN, the NFL, the NFL Network and then
- 33:39Yahoo. This is the one that really to
- 33:41me is the closest thing where everything was rated.
- 33:44So Saquon 1, Derrick Henry 2, Bijon 3.
- 33:49I think Bijon #1 saquon #2, Derrick Henry number six, I
- 33:54would say Jameer Gibbs #3 that's where I would put it first.
- 33:59Round picking the beef flick. Yes, so that's where I would go.
- 34:02So there you go in like Flynn, ladies and gentlemen.
- 34:04I like that one. And if you're a fantasy fan, you
- 34:08don't have to follow me, but I'm pretty good when it comes to
- 34:10drafting running backs. I've done very well over the
- 34:13years when it comes to drafting running backs.
- 34:15Thank you to all the fans on the audio ends of Spotify and Apple
- 34:19and the video ends of Spotify and Apple.

- 35:43watching the Yankees absolutely bomb a game they should have
- 35:46won. Well, you should be listening to
- 35:48our show because we would just absolutely kill them.
- 35:50Aaron Boone absolutely putrid in the 8th inning when it comes to
- 35:54Devin Williams. Oh my God, horrible calling that
- 35:57idiot then. But anyways, that's it.
- 36:00We'll talk to you next week Monday.
- 36:02Who do we have? On nothing yet for Monday, but
- 36:04Wednesday Nathan was able to get a Jordan Ronin, who's the ESPN
- 36:07NFL Nation reporter for the New York Giants.
- 36:09Ah, that'll be. Fun 945.
- 36:11Jordan I very big when it comes to Giants reporting, so getting
- 36:16Jordan on is is pretty cool and I'm sure he'll have his take on
- 36:19where he thinks the Giants are going to be.
- 36:21And and by the way, the Giants will play game number one on
- 36:25Sunday. So I'll ask him what he thought
- 36:27about the New York Giants on Sunday.
- 36:29So there you go Jabba. You have anything to say before
- 36:33we go, buddy? No, the Yankees, just when, just
- 36:39when you like them, they do this.
- 36:41Yeah. Other than that, yeah.
- 36:45Nick, I guess I got another. Goody goody, just just take your
- 36:52pills and go to bed. He he lost his mojo when he lost
- 36:55his crown. And came to him.
- 36:57Goody was trying to track how much the the last pitch Devin
- 37:00Williams threw compared to the Comet he was.
- 37:03He tastes himself. Stop.
- 37:05That's not true. He's just comparing the value of
- 37:07a second edition and a third edition.
- 37:09MU 2. Actually.
- 37:12Actually, I was admiring this man.
- 37:14This man spent 33 years alone on an island because he didn't feel
- 37:17like talking to anyone. I feel like that right now.
- 37:20Block, I'm not doing any freaking tactic.
- 37:25All right, ladies and gentlemen, that's it for our show.
- 37:27We'll talk to you next week. Good night it is.
- 37:29The Worldwide sports Radio network.
