The SOTU Boycott Has Trump Boiling · 2 Men In Black and White: An Honest Conversation

• Mark Hayes (00:06.639) All right, ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to another exciting edition of Two Minute Black and White, an Honest Conversation. All right, my name is Mark Hayes, along with Brock Canellos from the beautiful confines of the upper Hudson River Valley. Lots happening today as we barrel toward the State of the Union Address. Normally, it is a rite of passage that presidents take very seriously. This year, it is a hot friggin' mess. with so far 20 Democratic members of Congress deciding to opt out. Bracken Ellis, what say you? And apparently they're attending the Midas Touch event, which will be an alternative event to the State of the Union because they all know that it's not gonna be serious. It's all gonna be a bunch of word salad and mostly word vomit. BROCK GANELES (00:59.045) Grievances and lies, right, is what we would expect. mean, that's typically, I mean, I'm sure some speech writers are drawing something up today to try to, quote, keep Trump on message and to get him to talk about how he's addressing affordability and how great the ICE is doing in terms of all the criminals that they've rounded up and how he's fixed the crime problem in America. I can see all the bullshit coming. Mark Hayes (01:02.145) Yep. Yep. Mark Hayes (01:24.27) Sure. BROCK GANELES (01:29.219) He'll veer off track and it'll become a shit show, a rambling shit show as we know. And I commend any congressperson who does boycott. I would like to see, you know, a hundred percent non-attendance from the Democractic side of the ledger. I don't think we'll get that, but you know, I think being there, I'm tired of the, I'm honoring the office, not the person. Like we're so far beyond that. Mark Hayes (01:56.906) Yeah. BROCK GANELES (01:57.507) here in the second term, like you don't have to honor the office while he's in it. It's already been dishonored. So I prefer the Dems make a strong statement and do something that inspires us as the rank and file, you know, not something that they think is the courteous proper thing to do, but do what actually fuels the resistance movement against this white supremacy MAGA movement. Half of them won't do it. Hopefully at least half will. Mark Hayes (02:25.896) Yeah. Yeah. And you know, I don't understand why they wouldn't. I'm tired of hearing about, we are not in a ideology argument here. We are in a moral crisis. All right. How much money have we lost to tourism? $40 billion over the last, what, since? Trump has checked in to the insane asylum that we now know is the White House. People are afraid to come here because they don't want to be snatched up and thrown into some gulag in some foreign country that they've never been to and have no affiliation with. So this is not about ideology. This is about integrity, morality, like human decency. Like, why would you not want to be on the right side? of human decency. Where's his respect for the office? Why does everyone else have to respect the office, but he gets to do fuck all he wants? Right? Like answer me that question. How come nobody's asking or answering that question? Where is his respect for the office? He doesn't even know how to conduct himself on a day-to-day basis. I mean, the shit he posts on his social is, is loony. It's bat shit crazy. And now we're starting to hear more and more calls of impeachment. Why not take drastic measures? Because we are in drastic times, BROCK GANELES (03:58.981) What's the value in attending if you're a Democratic congressperson? Why be there? Why be there? It's like, I mean, if he invited you to dinner, would you go? No, you wouldn't be. You don't want to associate with Trump. He is literally an enemy to the core values of America and playing along and not. Mark Hayes (04:03.102) My point BROCK GANELES (04:19.979) actually confronting him at every turn is a losing game and part of how we got here. So let's learn some lessons of the past and let's act differently this time around. So a full boycott will will Mute and and take away it from his prestige and anger him and make him more likely To stay stupid shit that alienates more and more of those quote middle of the rotors who are less and less because look at Trump's poll numbers 60 % disapproval now like these are historically low numbers. Why are you sitting in the room? allowing You know a white supremacist a corrupt Mark Hayes (04:53.644) Right. Right. BROCK GANELES (05:08.161) leader who's pillaging us right just stealing money from the treasury and what is pretty much obviously a rapist and pedophile so why do feel that you need to go in and check the box of being like a polite member of Congress. just think it's so we are so far past that as a resistance strategy. Mark Hayes (05:38.286) Yeah, absolutely Brock. And you know, the thing that really gets me is, know, if you're Black or Brown, you're one of my Latino brothers or, you know, an African American. If you're other, if you're Asian, If you're South Asian, know, again, where's the value in sitting there? Hakeem Jeff, I mean, Hakeem Jeffries, do really wanna make a statement? Skip it and make a statement outside. Every network's gonna take your statement. Just wait till he's finished and tell us why you decided not to go. And you can run off a litany of reasons not to attend. You can just talk about the things that he's done to the Afro-American, to the African-American segment of society. And then we can get into others. Right? We can talk about what he's done to our Latino brothers and sisters. We can talk about what he's done to Alex Peretti and Renee Good. That should be the first two reasons you're not attending. That should be the first two reasons you're not attending. BROCK GANELES (06:54.777) You could just talk about the fact that despite the Supreme Court ruling against him and saying Congress has the power to, imposed tariffs, not the executive branch. And the fact that Trump has said that he's going to ignore that ruling doesn't give a shit about Congress and it's going to institute a 15 % tariff. just in the last 48 hours, he said that Congress is meaningless, but you're going to go sit in that seat as if you're a part of an institution that matters. He told you yesterday, you do not matter. He does not care. Mark Hayes (07:13.341) Okay. Yep. Mark Hayes (07:25.672) Right. BROCK GANELES (07:31.513) He doesn't care about the courts. He doesn't care about the Congress. So you're going to sit there and golf clap when he like talks about like ice concentration camps. And we're not going to do the pad. We're not going to do the paddles thing. We're not like they did the paddles last time. We're not going to do the booing like just fucking don't go. Mark Hayes (07:35.051) He doesn't care. Mark Hayes (07:41.256) He doesn't care. Mark Hayes (07:56.328) Right, and that's the bottom line. Skip it, stay home, let it be done with, and let's move on. Let's move on about right side in this country. Let's get back out here and get this country where it needs to be, right? Because this can't, this can't be another three years of this shit. We can't do it. We can't do three more years of this shit. There is no way America survives three more years. We're already probably not going to see the right side of the ship in our lifetimes. We will have shuffled off our mortal coil by the time they get this thing remedied because of all the damage that he's done, just from what we know. Think about what we don't know. Think about what we haven't seen, right? I mean, we got no clue as to what else this clown has destroyed in America, in our system of government. And remember, this time there are no adults in the room, right? At least at 1.0, there was a considerable number of people who understood government, understood how it worked and were not willing if they had white supremacist tendencies to inject it into governmental policy the way they have with 2.0. It's it. BROCK GANELES (09:37.797) Well, we do have a sense of it. We do have a sense of it's how compromised Trump may be by the Epstein files. Because as we see more and more come out and be more and more global fallout on other leaders, and we know he's in there a hundred times more than any other name. Mark Hayes (09:42.791) Right. Right. BROCK GANELES (09:56.313) Who knows what he's giving away? For either personal compensation or to protect his own ass. mean, it's gonna come out after he's dead and at some point everything comes out in the wash. And it's probably gonna be even beyond what we've imagined so far in terms of the destruction to American national interests. Look, it's part of why want, if these congresspeople, maybe they would Mark Hayes (10:09.107) Right. Mark Hayes (10:16.52) Okay. BROCK GANELES (10:26.317) up and then walked out maybe they would be like leading Americans saying this is the kind of protest we have to do to do in order to make our voices heard everywhere on every topic and maybe they can be leaders in that front by actually doing a walkout and doing like their own protest march and being maybe inspirational to other people to say we need to get out there because if they're just sitting in their seats frowning for an hour while he rambles on Mark Hayes (10:46.029) Right. Yep. BROCK GANELES (10:56.227) some delusional rant then we just look like kind of America looks like fools to the world and the world wonders why why are you just sitting there taking this and forcing us to take this why are you giving this man this power and you're not fighting without a fight what are you doing over there Mark Hayes (11:08.144) Right Mark Hayes (11:16.639) Yeah, yeah, we look we look weak and squeamish and feeble that we are letting An old man who can barely get up and down a flight of stairs We can see he can barely make it into Air Force one when he's walking up the stairs They're gonna have to start parking at the terminal so this guy can roll down the jetway Yeah, it's it's it's pathetic that we are allowing this to happen to this great nation. And I don't know why. And I don't know what the breaking point is. BROCK GANELES (11:55.897) Look, the Senate continues to support Chuck Schumer as the minority leader. So when the camera pans to the second most powerful person in the country, Chuck Schumer, they're going to just see a feeble old man sitting in his seat with a frumpy look on his face. And it's going to be like, OK, well, there you go. That's why America hasn't fought back against Trump, because they elect and promote weak leadership. Mark Hayes (12:24.752) Right. BROCK GANELES (12:26.191) So he's just steamrolling them and nothing's gonna change because Who's he fighting some 76 year old, you know? Weakling like so I'm more I'm preparing to be disappointed tomorrow night. I Like that guy goes not showing I like the would you tell me you heard 50? I know AOC is not showing right? Like I don't even have to worry about that. Of course not Mark Hayes (12:34.652) Hahaha, right. Mark Hayes (12:53.438) Right, right. It's the usual suspects who aren't going, you know? And you know what? If you're a Republican and you're a decent human being, you're not going either. You know, Trump is already in panic over it. Yeah, Trump's already in BROCK GANELES (13:08.165) ships down ships down if you still consider yourself a Republican you've lost all sense of of of your value system and if you're still a part of the party at this point and I'm not talking about just not running again in November like if you've hung around and you haven't walked away then you're complicit so I expect nothing from the Republicans but to clap along with the nonsense knowing full well they're listening Mark Hayes (13:17.863) Slow down. Mark Hayes (13:36.286) Yep. BROCK GANELES (13:38.319) total lunacy from a dementia-ridden narcissistic psychopathic fucking old man and they're gonna sit there as if it's the gospel. Mark Hayes (13:40.551) Yup. Mark Hayes (13:49.604) Right. Right. You know, it really is a joke at this point. And again, we're the laughing stock of the world. What is it, 148 countries that exist in the world right now, 147 of them made money with tourism last year. There's only one country that lost money in tourism and saw a decline. And bigly. BROCK GANELES (14:19.982) And it's getting, it's getting worse. getting worse. Mark Hayes (14:23.235) It's a joke. Yeah. And it's getting worse. And you feel it because that's your biz. So you know it intimately. But the Republicans have tanked our economy again. Bro, OK, if we go back and we look at years past, right, look at the 80s when mortgage rates were in the teens. In the teens. Right, like our baby boomers, right, late baby boomers like us. BROCK GANELES (14:31.801) firsthand. Mark Hayes (14:50.948) Really don't talk about it because it didn't impact us, right? A lot of us didn't have houses back in the eighties, but go look at the history. The Republicans have trashed our economy every opportunity they've had, right? Why do we keep handing them the keys as if they're gonna do something different? And we do it over and over again. It's so cyclical. Like this should be the last time they ever get their hands on. any kind of power of any branch. And whatever we have to do to break apart that Supreme Court, you know, six out of those nine morons have to go. six morons. BROCK GANELES (15:32.034) Extend the court. Extend the court, extend it to like 13 seats. Boom. mean, make it a part of the, but make it a part of the big policy list of what the democratic party is going to run on both in the midterms, if we have them and the next presidential election and like sweeping changes. Sweet. know, there's obviously an opening for massive immigration reform because the country's coming around now to say that, wait a second, we're treating our immigrants like shit. Mark Hayes (15:36.292) Yep. Yep. BROCK GANELES (16:03.335) shit, right? The country is not on board. The polling on ICE and Trump's immigration policy is horrendous. He's at like a 64 % disapproval on immigration, worse than his overall. So the country's right to have an adult conversation about what an immigration policy should be, because now we've seen that basically they're alive to the immigrants aren't fucking criminals. They're not the problem. Like 1 % of Mark Hayes (16:17.131) Right. Mark Hayes (16:24.565) Right. Mark Hayes (16:28.755) Right. BROCK GANELES (16:33.255) of them are criminals like probably lower than the than the normal populace and that they're key important elements of everyone's community. So hopefully now we can we can make some real change on that topic as well. But more I think about this, no more talk about this. Not only do we want the congressional our congresspeople on the left to boycott the state of the union, but we as individuals need to boycott the state of the union. This needs to have the lowest ratings of Mark Hayes (16:38.885) Yep. Mark Hayes (16:47.461) Yeah. Mark Hayes (16:59.526) Yup. BROCK GANELES (17:03.245) any presidential speech in the history of the country. This needs to be flat out ignored tomorrow night. Trump needs to fall flat and have shitty ratings and get what he fears most, which is to be irrelevant. and to be ignored and to not matter fuels into his insecurities that no one cares what he has to say. And that's the message that America needs to deliver to Trump tomorrow night. There's no fucking way I'm getting near a TV or radio or any aspect of that event. Mark Hayes (17:24.313) Right. Mark Hayes (17:31.364) Right. Mark Hayes (17:37.061) Yeah. Mark Hayes (17:41.615) Bro, I'm turning on Netflix just to make sure that it doesn't happen to pop up on my television. Because there is no way I'm watching this guy do anything, do anything except close his eyes for the last time. That's the only thing I want to see from this clown. I just, I don't want to see it. You know what? I just wanted to. get your opinion on this, and we didn't talk about it in our pre-show meeting, but I'm sure you'll be able to opine. That judge who blocked the release of Jack Smith's report on the classified documents case, it was permanently barred, this release of that report by special counsel Jack Smith. Why is a government investigation of One of our officials permanently blocked from the American people. Somebody riddled me that, Batman. BROCK GANELES (18:46.979) because we gave Republicans too much power over the years. Right now they have all the levers of power, so we have no mechanism for changing that policy. over, you know, we as Democrats, we're not on, or the left wasn't on top of... the way the American system works. And we allowed the Republicans to flood state houses and get all kinds of majorities everywhere so they can fuck around with the voting and fill all these judicial seats with right wing, you know, lunatics who don't care about, who care about power first and the constitution and really the American people second. So we've allowed it to happen. We can't do anything about it right now. We can't overturn this Eileen Cannon decision because they have all the power. We fucked up. Mark Hayes (19:48.929) Right. It's, it's, it's, it is insane that we, as the people, right? Cause this was supposed to be a government of the people for the people. Was, am I misquoting? Because I, now I'm starting to question it. Which people are we referring to? A government of which people and for Those people, who people? Us people? The 99 %? It's sickening. And I'm really pissed about it because I'm sick of us sitting here just taking it. Like, why are we just taking it? You know, I thought we had way more spunk than that. I thought we had way more get up and fuck that than this. This is ludicrous. BROCK GANELES (20:45.849) where we're starting to see a little bit. And it's really, I mean, you talked about it in Georgia, but these building of data centers and the purchasing of these warehouses for concentration camps is really riling. everyday citizens, both sides of the aisle, riling them up at the local level. Kind of similar, but different reasons. Right. Part of it is like soaking up the resources, like the electricity and the water for these towns that just don't can't handle this influx of either computer servers, right. To take up all that or and or the extra bodies that you're going to throw in there. Right. You have some of these communities saying, Mark Hayes (21:03.235) Yeah Yeah? Yeah? BROCK GANELES (21:33.141) their septic can't handle housing three, five, 10,000 people. So everyone's quality of life is going to go down if the warehouse. So it is actually at a grassroots level starting to trigger some anger. And actually, we're amazingly, it's creating a playing field where the left and the right are agreeing. Right. You get some of these local town halls where you got people who disagree. Mark Hayes (21:38.86) Right. Right. BROCK GANELES (22:03.025) and everything else agree on the fact that they don't want these facilities in their backyard. And there's a lot of local skirmishes going on. I think it's being reflected in Trump's weakening poll numbers because, you know, people are just getting pissed at, you know, what you'd call like little shit, right? It's not national stuff, but it's like it's stuff that affects people's day to day life, right? I don't know if all of a sudden you're in the shower and there's no water or like your toilet. Mark Hayes (22:03.379) Right Mark Hayes (22:12.481) Yep. Mark Hayes (22:17.504) Yes! BROCK GANELES (22:33.005) backing up or your electricity you're getting brownouts or your bills you know really it's coming down to money too where people's electric bills are going up because you know power is more scarce resource when the data center is soaking up so much of it Mark Hayes (22:48.374) Yeah, you know what's funny too? You know, here in the Red South, well, Red Georgia, down on the south side of the state, when you get down south, I wanna say around Tifton, going towards Valdosta and the Florida state line, I've seen several solar farms. where probably crops used to grow. And there are solar farms there now. And I'm talking acres and acres, in red Georgia. I'm not talking about Metro Atlanta, Georgia. I'm talking about red Georgia, shawty, way down south. So, I think this Republican party has really underestimated the quality of life argument that MAGA would like to hold on to, right? know, MAGA in some instances is as sophisticated as anybody else in the country, right? So they understand what's going to keep their electricity bills down, right? They understand that we need new sources of energy if we're gonna be good stewards of the planet. Right? There's a population of MAGA that understands that. And, you know, there's a population of MAGA who can add and subtract and who can see the difference in their energy bills. Right? And who's hot as hell in Texas when the grid goes out in the summertime, when they have the brownouts. Right? MAGA wants to be cool too. You know, they live inside these three, 4,000 square foot homes in South Texas. You know, got to deal with the brownout. on any given Texas fucking summer day? Do you know what the heat feels like in fucking Texas? You go south of Houston, get some of that heat in the summertime. You'll never want any part of that again. And I'm telling you that from experience. It's ugly. It is humid, hot, hazy, the whole nine. And let me tell you something, MAGA doesn't wanna live like that either. So, you know. Mark Hayes (24:58.955) They got some real problems here. Their message, as we already indicated, their message is falling flat, right? Their complaints are falling flat. Their grievances falling flat because it's impacting all of us. Maggot too. BROCK GANELES (25:15.141) Well, Project 2025, they just pushed it too far, right? They play the racism so hard that like, oh, we're going to make the other's lives miserable, that it's going to make you white people feel better about your lives. But everyone's life is going to get worse. But the people of color's life is going to get even worse than yours. So you're going to still feel on top of them. And they kept pushing it and pushing it and pushing it. But the decline in white America's quality of life on a day to Mark Hayes (25:33.024) Even first BROCK GANELES (25:45.047) the day basis has just as it's gotten worse and a little bit worse and a little bit and a little bit worse, they just push the envelope too far. We're like middle class to lower class white America is getting pissed at all this shit because the racism like you say, you can't eat the racism. You can't cool the house with the racism, right? Like you just they just took too many things away from white America. Mark Hayes (26:06.798) Right? Ow! BROCK GANELES (26:14.971) and sticking concentration camps in their neighborhood and building data centers that are jacking up their bills that they've really, really alienated their own base and the Epstein files, which was definitely a hey, poor uneducated white people lie that they told them for so long to keep them in the fall that the other guys are pedophiles. need to be scared of them. And the Epstein files is all Mark Hayes (26:41.369) Not up. BROCK GANELES (26:44.881) also Mark Hayes (26:51.053) Mm-hmm. Mark Hayes (26:55.168) Yep. BROCK GANELES (27:14.791) 47 on independence, but even some MAGA is peeling away for any one of the issues that I just brought up. That's why his approval sucks. I mean, we have the lowest rated president in the history of the country. Mark Hayes (27:15.36) Listen. Mark Hayes (27:28.733) Right. Right. BROCK GANELES (27:29.633) His following is so small right now. That's why we just can't play along like business as usual. Congress, don't show up to the State of the Union and pretend like you're in the presence of the leader of the country. You're in the presence of a demented, old, senile, old man. Mark Hayes (27:48.204) Yep, yep, and it's terrible. All right, bro. By the way, did I mention the Epstein files wasn't going away about six, seven months ago? Did I, who said that? I said that, okay. We can move on. BROCK GANELES (27:59.173) You UK ambassador to the US got arrested today. UK arresting people now. That's two in like four days. Europe's now going after it hard. What's that? Mark Hayes (28:09.886) Yep. And what was it? One of them was a royal. More arrests to come. Stay tuned. All right. Let's get up out of here with some quick hits. What do you got for me, homie? BROCK GANELES (28:25.871) So you see this story about this Congressman Tony Gonzalez, the Republican congressman in Texas? Mark Hayes (28:32.047) Yes! BROCK GANELES (28:34.629) having an affair with his aide asking for sexy pictures and she committed suicide under you know maybe mysterious circumstances and Mark Hayes (28:44.287) stupid. Mark Hayes (28:51.043) Suicide. BROCK GANELES (28:52.323) He's fighting, he's still fighting for his seat, right? He's not one of these Republicans that wants to walk away. He wants to stay in Congress. But I just found it interesting that one of the loudest voices on the Republican side who's appalled by the lack of morality of Tony Gonzalez is Lauren Boebert. Mark Hayes (29:10.513) Ha! The Boatster! BROCK GANELES (29:14.499) Lauren Boeber is appalled. Lauren Boeber said, that's a bridge too far. the groping in the children's children's theater that's okay but this is too far for Lauren Boebert she thinks Tony Gonzalez should resign because he's disgraced the seat and is bad for bad for the party and bad for the country so I just find that talk about MAGA you know starting to be a circular firing squad I thought that was funny and interesting we'll see if this Tony Gonzalez wins his primary but you know that Mark Hayes (29:21.983) The. Mark Hayes (29:45.021) Yeah. Yeah, it's ridiculous. BROCK GANELES (29:51.312) That's a bad. What's that? Mark Hayes (29:51.431) Mike Johnson. And how about about Greg Mike on the Hill defending, right? Because he can't afford to lose another vote. So he's defending this, you know, debauchery, right? So he can keep his one vote margin or whatever it is, you know? That's all it is. God, they don't care about. BROCK GANELES (30:14.213) He says, yeah. Oh yeah, he can't have him resign. He needs that seat filled with another Republican, even if it's not Gonzalez. Yeah, Mike Johnson, a man of the good book, a man of the Lord. Yeah, he has a strong sense of morality when it comes down to it. But yeah, I just found it interesting. Well, Lauren Boebert is the loudest voice of the Tony Gonzalez should resign club. Mark Hayes (30:27.197) Yeah, sure he is. Mark Hayes (30:40.115) Yep. All right. For my little USA hockey, I told you we won either way. USA hockey got out of there by the skin on their teeth. mean, well, after that second period should have been eight to one, but congratulations. They got the gold. Canada takes home the silver. You know, what a game. What an absolute dynamite instant classic. BROCK GANELES (30:41.829) where you got some niggas. Mark Hayes (31:09.584) I enjoyed every second of it, even the playing of the national anthem, the medal ceremony, and then it was all dashed to bits when Cash Patel's face popped up. But that's here and there, that's another conversation. Congrats to the Americans, I wore my USA hockey cap in honor of them, but I'll be going back to my Canadian hat, which is in the mail on a regular basis. as soon as it arrives. So, yeah, I'm not pleased with USA hockey allowing this kind of influence. You know, the NHL has a program called Hockey is for Everyone. Can't be for everyone when Cash Patel's in the locker room and his policies. Can't be for everyone when Donald Trump is calling them to congratulate them, invite them to the White House, and, you know, and then offhandedly talking about calling the women's Who by the way gave up what? Like three goals the entire tournament? I mean, I don't think they gave up a power play goal. Neither did the men, but I don't think the women gave up a power play goal the entire tournament. That is unheard of, Brock. So yeah, the women are not going. You know, God bless them. It's a different story. As a father whose son, you know, struggled with the identity of being an African-American hockey player on ice, you know, it's a real problem for me. It's a real problem for me because the game is already cost prohibitive here in the U.S. Now in Canada, everybody can play. and everybody can be on the top team. You can make the Canadian Olympic team if you're good enough, regardless of your parents W2 and their income stats, right? You see, we have two brothers on the USAT, two sets of brothers, the Kachuk brothers and the Hughes brothers. You mean to tell me out of the world's best 30 hockey players, four of them came from two different families? Mark Hayes (33:36.858) Yeah. Somebody, somebody, somebody didn't make that squad. Right? Now the Hughes brothers are great. The Kachaks are really good players. I don't want to take anything away from any of those guys, any of those four guys. But you know, I've seen it up close for so many years. It's been very, very frustrating to watch. So I have a difficult time supporting USA hockey when they try to tell me that it's for everyone because I know the truth is different. BROCK GANELES (33:41.861) Huge opportunity to get. BROCK GANELES (34:07.141) Yeah, it's not really. Mark Hayes (34:07.292) You know, when it costs 35, whenever you have to pay to play, like for fun, right? When we wanted to play in the gym, we didn't have to pay. Hey coach, can you open the gym for sure? Right? You want to go, know, stick time is what they call it in hockey. It's 10, 15 bucks a person. You got 30, 40 kids out there. It's paid for itself twice. You know, it's always about the money in the US. That's how greed is killing us. And now it's eating us from the inside out. But that's OK. You know, watched a video today where people talked about not coming to the US. Don't take your money there. They don't even protect. And one of the guys from, I think he was from the UK, he said they're not even protecting their own citizens. Why would we go there? Why would we go visit? They don't care about their own citizens. You think they're gonna care about me? Mark Hayes (35:09.308) So yeah, but congrats to USA hockey. They got the gold. Congrats to Canada played a hell of a tournament and Nate McKinnon is probably still hadn't BROCK GANELES (35:22.397) I mean the games were incredible and the sport of it was phenomenal. Women's and the men's side. Everything after the game, after the ceremony has been an American disaster. Cash Patel spending millions of dollars going over there being an idiot in the locker room, right? Like he was a 16 or 18 year old kid drinking his first beer. To Trump with his asinine memes making fun of Canada being an asshole winner, right? And just Mark Hayes (35:40.828) Hmm? BROCK GANELES (35:52.345) creating stupid shit to Trump then be making a misogynistic offhand insulting comment about the women's team that then puts the men's team in a tough spot, which I hope they step up to where they're not supporting the women's team. So everything about it got clouded, in essence ruined. What was a phenomenal moment has all been stories about Trump. Mark Hayes (35:57.372) Yeah. Yeah. BROCK GANELES (36:15.351) and Trump administration and MAGA assholery has been the story since that goal was scored. And why? How is Trump possibly the fucking story? Because he has to be, because he can't stand that the attention and the glory was going elsewhere outside of his little domain. And I think it's a pathetic show on the national stage, but not surprising. Mark Hayes (36:26.789) Yeah. Yeah. Mark Hayes (36:38.626) Right. Mark Hayes (36:44.579) Right. Sad. You know, there's a lot to be learned from losing and there's a lot to be said for a gracious winner. you know, Trump hasn't learned any lessons from any of that. Yeah, ever. BROCK GANELES (36:59.427) nothing. And that's why I want everyone to boycott the State of the Union tomorrow night. Don't even give him the satisfaction of feeling it's worth your time to listen to him speak. And I want that to be what the Congress people's message to him is. It's not worth my time to listen to you. Mark Hayes (37:05.839) Yeah, right. Mark Hayes (37:19.547) Right. and you're a BS. Shit. All right, buddy. You just got me all. Yeah, man. Hila, take the edge off. All right, bro. Have a good one. We'll rack it up and do it again tomorrow. Oh, big shout out to the fat lady sings. We forgot. BROCK GANELES (37:27.683) Okay, Mark, always a pleasure. Good to catch up. I'll talk to you tomorrow. All right. All right. BROCK GANELES (37:42.209) thank you, Mark, for the reminder. want to thank the Fat Lady Sings podcast, had me on as a guest last night and talked about some topics that we don't talk about here, which just shows that we all have our lane of what, you know, where were you talking about? A big discussion is really focused on like stories that get lost in the shuffle because of the Trump bombast, particularly about a lot of this stuff going on amongst the Christian nationalist movement and how they've weaved their way into the policy-making. and some of these commissions that Trump has created to where they're in there in essence making policy behind the scenes that all of a sudden pops up in court cases and in all kinds of laws that get spread throughout the country. So I appreciated the opportunity to get in front of a different audience. I learned a lot from her last night. It's the Fat Lady Sings podcast. She's available on YouTube as well. Thanks for the reminder, Mark. Mark Hayes (38:16.411) you Mark Hayes (38:37.166) Awesome. Love it. She's an honest broker and a big fan of the show and we're big fans of her. So good stuff, man. Thanks for stopping by. I'll have to jot it down in my schedule to make it out there one time if she'll have us both at some point. All right, bud, have a great night. We'll rack it up, do it again tomorrow. BROCK GANELES (39:00.037) Talk to you later. Mark Hayes (39:01.037) Peace.
