- 0:00This morning I woke up with a thought of doing a quick as
- 0:05possible summary of the Bible, what it means to each one of us,
- 0:10why we should read it. So first I will start with
- 0:14prayer. Dear God, please give me the
- 0:16right words. Please help me to explain this
- 0:19concisely and to point out the relevant things that you want
- 0:25everyone to know. I asked for this in Jesus name.
- 0:29Please give us the Holy Spirit to open our eyes and to make us,
- 0:35I guess, aware of your presence and to seek you.
- 0:39We ask for this in Jesus name, Amen.
- 0:43So the Bible, it's very important to read it because it
- 0:47tells us the truth about the beginning of the world, the
- 0:54earth, and it also tells us about the end and it tells us
- 0:59everything in between. So if you want to know what
- 1:02happened, what's going to happen, then the Bible will tell
- 1:07you that. It will also tell us
- 1:11consequences of how we live our lives.
- 1:14It will tell us the things that God deems holy and the things
- 1:19that are unholy and an easy thing for me as I read through
- 1:27the Bible and studied it over the last since 2019, I came
- 1:34across this thought that pretty much everything that if you want
- 1:40to classify something as sin, which sin literally means to
- 1:44miss the mark, miss the mark of perfection.
- 1:47So that it's an archery term and you know, not hitting the
- 1:53bullseye, not being perfect and being off target.
- 1:57That's all of us, all of us and all of us are off target of what
- 2:01God intended us to be. He made us in his image.
- 2:06Every single person, even the people that you see who choose
- 2:10to do evil in their lives were made in God's image.
- 2:15The problem is, I guess, the challenge.
- 2:18I don't know what you want to call it, the problem.
- 2:20Whatever God gave, it seems like all of his creation, everything
- 2:27he created, he gave free will. We have the free will.
- 2:33It is our choice whether we do good or evil with what God has
- 2:38given us. And that's what God is watching
- 2:43as we live on this earth in the choices that we make.
- 2:47And ultimately the choice of where we end up in eternity with
- 2:53God or eternally separated from God is given to us.
- 3:00The the criteria for it is given to us in Scripture.
- 3:04Do we want to, do we choose to obey God knowing that we won't
- 3:10be perfect in it? But do we choose to obey God or
- 3:14do we choose to rebel against Him?
- 3:18Now, because none of us could choose to obey with 100%
- 3:24accuracy all the time. None of us could do that.
- 3:28So God had a way planned for us how that would happen, how we
- 3:34could get into his presence, and that is through Jesus, like
- 3:39Jesus said, Jesus said, this is a quote from Jesus.
- 3:43I am the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the
- 3:46Father except through me. Meaning the sacrifice that Jesus
- 3:52made on the cross. It was something willing people
- 3:55didn't capture him and nail him to a cross and the way they were
- 3:59mocking him on the cross saying if you are God, you know, get
- 4:03your get off the cross or let God save you or something.
- 4:06I don't remember exactly what the mockers were saying to him.
- 4:10He wasn't going to do that because if he did that, if he
- 4:14evaded getting hung on the cross or nailed to the cross, then he
- 4:21wouldn't have been he wouldn't have died and then he wouldn't
- 4:25have like raised again. So he wouldn't have received the
- 4:30punishment the the punishment that had to happen to someone.
- 4:35But He took that punishment in our place on the cross, and by
- 4:42doing that, by willfully being obedient to the Father, he
- 4:50removed sin from us. So it says in Hebrews.
- 4:56Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sin.
- 5:00That's why God allowed the sacrifices in the Old Testament,
- 5:05because that was a temporary solution.
- 5:09It was a substitute instead of death occurring to the person
- 5:14who committed the sin who was not perfect, they were able to
- 5:18use an animal to do that and God allowed that.
- 5:23But I want to go back even further because that's that's
- 5:25kind of the summation of it. If you believe Jesus died on the
- 5:29cross for your sins and I, I can't say like if you believe it
- 5:34now, but if you've never heard the Bible or read the Bible, you
- 5:38wouldn't necessarily believe it. But the Bible will explain all
- 5:41of this and, and that's the, the summary of the, of the whole
- 5:50Bible is really about how God saved mankind.
- 5:54So we'll jump back to the very beginning of the Bible when God
- 5:57created the heavens and the earth and he created everything
- 6:01in it and it was all good. So think about this.
- 6:05God created all mankind in his image.
- 6:09So we are a reflection of God and he was happy with what he
- 6:15created. Everything was good, but here's
- 6:19where things went. Not so good as he gave free will
- 6:23and it apparently he gave, gives, gave and gives free will
- 6:28to everything, every being he creates because he gave that
- 6:34free will to beings that are in the heavenly realms.
- 6:38There are beings that have access to the earth and to
- 6:43heaven, spiritual. We don't really know all of what
- 6:48they entail. The Bible talks about some of
- 6:50them, but it talks about some creatures that we've never seen
- 6:53here on earth that are in the heavenly realms that other like
- 6:56prophets have seen. And also in the Book of
- 6:58Revelation where it talks about describes what John saw in the
- 7:06heavenly throne area. So there are some created beings
- 7:10that we probably have never seen before and they are described in
- 7:13the Bible. Paul tells us that these we are
- 7:20in Ephesians chapter 6, that we wrestle not against flesh and
- 7:25blood, meaning people. We're we're not struggling with
- 7:29people our we think we are. But what we're really struggling
- 7:33against is the spiritual forces in the heavenly realms that are
- 7:39influencing the people. Now, this really helped us with
- 7:43forgiving others, because forgiving others is in the
- 7:48Lord's Prayer, the one prayer that Jesus taught his followers,
- 7:53the Lord's Prayer. And I'll just say it, Our
- 7:56Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy
- 7:59Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
- 8:04Give us this day Our Daily Bread, and forgive us our
- 8:08trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
- 8:13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
- 8:18And that's for thine is the Kingdom, and the poor glory
- 8:21forever and ever, Amen. So it says, forgive us our
- 8:25trespasses. Are our sins the things we do
- 8:29wrong as we forgive those to others?
- 8:33So if we are holding on to unforgiveness, this is the way
- 8:38God's going to work with us. We have to realize that all of
- 8:42us are essentially in the same position, if you want to call it
- 8:47that. We are all equally mankind and
- 8:51we all are imperfect. So if we want to be forgiven,
- 8:58then we need to forgive others also.
- 9:02And that's really critical because if you've done anything
- 9:06wrong, you want God to forgive you.
- 9:08So do the same for others. It's really important because if
- 9:15we don't forgive, then that leads to anger.
- 9:19At times when someone has wronged us and we don't forgive
- 9:24them, it stirs within us and it creates anger and anger in the
- 9:28Bible is called the foothold of the devil.
- 9:32So the foothold of the devil can then start to activate in our
- 9:38lives. We have like an open door to him
- 9:42to where he has access to our life and can influence us
- 9:45because of our free will. So it all goes back.
- 9:49We can't really blame anyone but ourselves for our actions
- 9:56because we have free will. And God says, or it says in the
- 10:01in scripture, it says that God never gives us any temptation
- 10:05that is greater than what mankind has already received and
- 10:10never let's any temptation come across us.
- 10:13He doesn't tempt us, He will test us.
- 10:17The temptation comes from the evil one, but the testing is
- 10:22something God observes. What do we do when we are
- 10:26tempted and the enemy of God, which I just, I mean, the,
- 10:32there's, there's more that are aligned with the enemy of God,
- 10:35which is ultimately Satan. If you read throughout the
- 10:39Bible, he's in the very beginning of the Bible and he's
- 10:41at the very end of the Bible and he interacts throughout the
- 10:45Bible. In the book of Job, you can find
- 10:48that Satan roams around the earth looking for his next
- 10:51victim. That's why it tells us to be
- 10:53sober, to be of sober mind, because the the devil roams the
- 10:59earth looking for his next victim.
- 11:02So when we alter our mind with anything that is, is not making
- 11:07us think clearly, we are easily accessible by the enemy of God
- 11:15to do what the enemy wants us to do as opposed to what God wants
- 11:20us to do. Now it this really explains
- 11:24everything that's going on in the world.
- 11:26But a lot of people, because they haven't heard this, want to
- 11:30deny it. But it's all throughout the
- 11:31Bible. It's very clearly explained.
- 11:34In fact, at the very beginning, when God gave everyone free
- 11:38will, he was actually on earth walking in the garden with Adam
- 11:46and Eve, the humans he created. He was, he had a friendship with
- 11:51them and he gave them some rules.
- 11:56And here's where that free will comes in.
- 11:59He's like, you can eat from any of the trees here, but you
- 12:03cannot eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
- 12:09That was what it was. So that's where God's enemy or
- 12:14Satan or the devil, and it is explained that way in the Bible
- 12:18that these are all the same. So whatever you want to call it,
- 12:21I'll just say the enemy because Satan also took a third of the
- 12:26angels from heaven and who aligned with him and they I
- 12:32think it's will in the future. I don't know that it's happened
- 12:35yet. I know they do.
- 12:37Apparently angels have access to earth and the heavens, but at
- 12:41one point they are thrown down to the earth and I don't believe
- 12:47that they can go back into the heavenly realms.
- 12:50But there are angels who have sided with Satan.
- 12:54So without saying if it's an Angel, and then you get into
- 12:58like what, who, what demons are. And demons are apparently
- 13:02different than angels. And there's there's spirits that
- 13:06actually can inhabit a person. So when a person continually
- 13:13makes rebellious choices against God over and over and over
- 13:18again, apparently it gives legal right because God does
- 13:24everything out of order. And again, this goes back to
- 13:27free will. It gives the enemy of God access
- 13:33to people. And if you clean and get rid of
- 13:37something evil that's literally possessed and, and Satan even
- 13:42asked to possess some of the disciples.
- 13:47Actually, it says clearly in the Gospel that Satan left into
- 13:51Judas. Judas was one of the disciples
- 13:54that betrayed Jesus and turned him into the soldiers.
- 13:58So it literally says that Satan left into him and caused him to
- 14:02do the things that he did because he wasn't fully on board
- 14:06with Jesus. He wasn't sincere in his
- 14:10relationship with Jesus. That can happen to any of us.
- 14:13In fact, Jesus even said that Satan had asked to sift all of
- 14:19his disciples, but he was protecting them so that they
- 14:23weren't. Again, this is where the
- 14:25protection of Jesus happens. And the protection of Jesus is
- 14:29so important in our lives because what happened back then
- 14:34still happens today. And so when we read the Bible,
- 14:37our eyes are open to these things that we don't really
- 14:40know. So again, let's go back to the
- 14:43beginning of the story where God gave free will.
- 14:46Let's talk a little bit about free will and just think about
- 14:49it logically in relationships, if you did not have free will
- 14:54and someone had control over you and someone said you are going
- 14:59to just love me and you don't have a choice, you were just
- 15:03going to love me. If they had that power, if they
- 15:06were a creator and could do that, they could make things.
- 15:11OK, let's let's think about like a robot now.
- 15:14OK people, all these robotics and AI, that's possible right
- 15:18now. A robot could be programmed to
- 15:22love only the creator of the robot.
- 15:26They could be programmed like that and that could make the
- 15:30programmer feel really good, like I have this, this robot
- 15:35that loves me. In fact, I think that's almost
- 15:38where we're going here in the world when you see what's
- 15:41happening. But the real truth is, does that
- 15:46robot love the programmer? Because the robot, if the
- 15:51programmer programmed it only to love the programmer and it had
- 15:55no choice, that's not proof that that robot loves that
- 16:00programmer. If the programmer gave the robot
- 16:04ability to choose whether to love or not love, then they they
- 16:09could. If they were real, then you
- 16:13could know that either something loves you or something doesn't.
- 16:16So that's like with God and us. I mean, that's a poor example,
- 16:20but something that just came to mind as I'm trying to explain
- 16:23this. So God, when he creates us, he
- 16:27gives us free will. We can choose to choose to
- 16:31reject him. It comes with consequences, but
- 16:34is still available to us. He doesn't force anybody.
- 16:38So anyone who tries to force you in an into a religion is not of
- 16:45God because that is not God's character.
- 16:48God does not force anyone into a religion.
- 16:52When people badmouth Christians and they say, oh, they're trying
- 16:56to convert people to Christians, well, OK, maybe that's somewhat
- 17:04true, but not by force. It's always a choice.
- 17:08The only reason someone wants to bring somebody into the
- 17:13Christian faith is because if a person does that, the person who
- 17:19is brought into the faith gets to live in eternity with God
- 17:23with a bunch of blessings that God has planned in the future.
- 17:29So it's only for the benefit of the person.
- 17:33But no Christian should ever force any other person because
- 17:37God does not force us. The only thing a Christian
- 17:41should do is to make people aware of the option because that
- 17:47is not known to a lot of people. There's all these things in the
- 17:51world like you only live once. Well, we do only live once, but
- 17:55it's not just on this earth. We were created to be eternal
- 18:00beings by God. The Bible is clear about that.
- 18:03We will live forever, but the question is, where are we going
- 18:09to live? Are we going to live in God's
- 18:11Kingdom or will we live apart from God?
- 18:15And that's what the Bible tells us about.
- 18:17Jesus took care of everything so that it is open to every single
- 18:22human being on the earth, that every single human being could
- 18:28live in God's Kingdom because of what Jesus did.
- 18:32That's the only way that we can get into the Kingdom because of
- 18:37what Jesus did for us on the cross.
- 18:41We have to believe that. If we don't believe that, if we
- 18:44don't believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that's not available
- 18:48to us. If we believe that Jesus is the
- 18:50Son of God, great. And we have to remember
- 18:54something about belief. Even the demons know who he is.
- 18:58The demons believe and they shudder.
- 19:01The demons are not going to be in God's Kingdom.
- 19:03There's something else that has to happen besides what Jesus did
- 19:07for us. This is where it gets to our
- 19:09free will and what Jesus said, that you must be born again to
- 19:15enter the Kingdom of God. Born of the Spirit.
- 19:19There's two things. Born of the water and born of
- 19:21the Spirit. So born of the water, I've seen
- 19:24a couple of explanations of this.
- 19:26One of these is a human birth born of the water that comes
- 19:29with with that. The other thing that I've also
- 19:32seen is that John the Baptist, who was actually Jesus's cousin,
- 19:37baptized people with repentance. That's turning your mind away
- 19:42from sin, saying I don't want to be a sinful person, I want to be
- 19:49obedient to God. OK, that's great to have that
- 19:52desire. But God also tells us the flesh
- 19:54is weak, but the Spirit is strong.
- 19:57So if we try to do it on our own, we're going to mess up more
- 20:02than not because we are weak. That's what it says.
- 20:06And we are, if you want to say, fighting against spiritual
- 20:10forces that are stronger than us, spiritual forces that will
- 20:13tempt us, that will put together opportunities for us to rebel
- 20:18against God. And that's really what they want
- 20:21to do. They want to separate because
- 20:23God loves humans. They just want humans to be
- 20:28destroyed. That's really what they have
- 20:30their that's their intention. It says that Satan seeks to
- 20:35destroy. That's what he's looking for.
- 20:38Ultimately. He knows his future.
- 20:40He knows scripture. He knows that at the end when
- 20:43God calls the time up that he is going into the burning lake of
- 20:49fire, which is eternal separation from God because it's
- 20:53written in the Bible, it's written in prophecy.
- 20:54That is his future. And he only has a period of time
- 20:59here on earth. So he's not happy about that.
- 21:04And the reason it's a judgement from God, because apparently he
- 21:09wanted to be worshipped. He wasn't satisfied being a
- 21:13created being by God. He wanted to be equal with God,
- 21:17but he wasn't. And so he's he's deceptive too.
- 21:21So he's gone out into the world. And I think all other religions
- 21:25are Satan is really behind all other religions that have
- 21:29different gods that are not the one true God because and I even
- 21:35think this is my opinion, but it's kind of based on the book
- 21:39of Enoch. But I believe that these
- 21:43entities from the heavenly realms came and actually
- 21:46appeared to people and taught people things, which the Book of
- 21:49Enoch tells us that happened. And then the people knew that
- 21:55they were something supernatural and greater than what a human
- 21:58being was, and could see what they could do that was greater.
- 22:01So then they began to worship those things.
- 22:04And they aren't gods, they're just created beings from the
- 22:07heavenly realms that came into the earth.
- 22:10And I believe, this is my opinion again, that that is how
- 22:14all these other religions that were other entities are multiple
- 22:18gods. They didn't just make things up
- 22:21in their head. I don't believe that.
- 22:23I think they actually saw things.
- 22:26They actually had, you know, beings from another realm that
- 22:31interacted with them. And so they, they started doing
- 22:35what they thought was right. And that's why it's so important
- 22:39to have the, the gospel message that to know there is a way.
- 22:46And there's a lot of deceptive ways out there that say that
- 22:51you're, you know, I guess you'll, you'll get to paradise
- 22:54or something like that, But it's not the truth.
- 22:57The only way is through what Jesus did.
- 22:59And again, what Jesus said, you must be born of the water and
- 23:03born of the spirit. So human being birth and the
- 23:07baptism of repentance, because Jesus also said repent and be
- 23:12baptized. So baptized is being baptized is
- 23:16the outward expression of what has happened internally in us.
- 23:21When we realize that we are sinful, that we miss the mark of
- 23:26perfection, and that we are we, we will keep doing it over and
- 23:31over again, but we don't want to be that way.
- 23:34We want to be close to God. So then we decide this is our
- 23:39free will. If we want to.
- 23:42We decide that I want to be what you created me to be, God, and
- 23:48we let that be known to God. That's our surrender to God.
- 23:53God, let me do your will, not mine.
- 23:56God, please change me into the person.
- 24:00Like I want my will to be aligned with yours.
- 24:03I have free will, but I want my will to be aligned with your
- 24:08will. I want it to be good.
- 24:09I don't want it to be evil when we sincerely want that with God.
- 24:15We can ask God, we can ask Jesus for the Holy Spirit, and it says
- 24:21that. It says in the Bible that Jesus
- 24:25receives the Holy Spirit from the Father and gives it to him
- 24:27whomever he wants. So we have to believe in Jesus.
- 24:31If we don't believe in Jesus, then we can't ask Jesus for
- 24:34this. But Jesus said we must be born
- 24:37again to enter the Kingdom of God.
- 24:39That's why everything goes through Jesus.
- 24:41He is like our mediator between the Father and he is the way
- 24:46that we are able to be in the Kingdom of God.
- 24:50So being born again means to have to receive the Holy Spirit.
- 24:56What happens when we receive the Holy Spirit?
- 24:59There are gifts of the Holy Spirit that are in the Bible and
- 25:03I forgot what chapter it was, but you can probably search
- 25:06gifts of the Holy Spirit in an electronic Bible and find that.
- 25:10But those are evidence of receiving the Holy Spirit.
- 25:13When you see what those gifts are, I think there might be 9 of
- 25:15them. And there's also fruit of the
- 25:19Spirit, which I know where that is.
- 25:21Fruit is what, you know, a tree or a plant produces fruit that's
- 25:25edible that you can see that, you know, it's evidence that if
- 25:30there's an apple, it's an apple tree.
- 25:32So the fruit that comes off of from us, we can see what the
- 25:36fruit of the Spirit is. That's in Galatians chapter 5.
- 25:40I know that. So that's evidence that somebody
- 25:43has the Holy Spirit. Now what happens with the Holy
- 25:47Spirit is that our lives start to change.
- 25:52We we don't, unfortunately, we can't just say God just take
- 25:56over my life. I tried that and I still had to
- 25:59make the decisions myself. God doesn't automatically do
- 26:02things because he doesn't take away our free will.
- 26:06He lets us still have the free will, but in each opportunity
- 26:11that we have, we get a choice. We can either choose to follow
- 26:14God, choose to be obedient to God, or we can choose to rebel
- 26:19against God and the our free will stays.
- 26:23So all we have to do to be in the Kingdom of God is believe in
- 26:27Jesus and be born again. That's it.
- 26:31And anyway, so getting back to the Bible, the Bible tells us
- 26:36about creation and Adam and Eve and God are present.
- 26:40And then the enemy of God starts putting questions into Adam and
- 26:45Eve's my Eve's first, I guess, and say, well, did he really say
- 26:49this? Did he really say you couldn't
- 26:51have that, that fruit from that tree, the knowledge of good and
- 26:54evil? And then she saw it and it
- 26:57looked good, you know, didn't look like anything evil.
- 26:59That's exactly why the enemy will do something very
- 27:02deceptive. It's not going to look evil.
- 27:04It's going to seem kind of good. He's going to put it in front of
- 27:07you. But it's a what?
- 27:08It's something that God doesn't want you to do that he told you
- 27:12not to do. What is what are the things that
- 27:15God was not to do? They are in the Bible.
- 27:19We can find all of that in the Bible and I will read.
- 27:22Actually, it's probably a good time to read in.
- 27:26Oh gosh, I always tell people to read Revelation the last
- 27:33chapters. I think it's like Revelation 21.
- 27:36Maybe it's about the new heaven and the new earth.
- 27:40OK, Revelation 21 verse 8, because this one really hit me
- 27:46hard. And and there's there's other,
- 27:50there's another place in the Bible too that Paul talks about
- 27:52this. But Revelation 21, seven, it
- 27:55says those who are victorious will inherit all this, meaning
- 27:59God's Kingdom and I will be their God and they will be my
- 28:03children. But here's where this might
- 28:05affect some of us. But the out, the cowardly, the
- 28:10unbelieving. So if you don't believe in
- 28:12Jesus, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who
- 28:19practice magic arts like astrology, tarot cards, those
- 28:24kinds of things, the idolaters, anybody who has something that's
- 28:28more important than God is idolatry and all liars, they
- 28:35will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur.
- 28:39This is the second death. So when Paul talks about this,
- 28:44he describes that this is what some of you were.
- 28:48He explains and he explains our sin nature and what that is.
- 28:54I think that's also in Galatians chapter 5 too, because it talks
- 28:58about the fruit of the Spirit and it talks about the worldly
- 29:02when someone is worldly and about who?
- 29:07Let's see, OK, it says, yeah, the OK, here's what it says in
- 29:13Galatians 517. For the flesh desires what is
- 29:18contrary to the Spirit. So in our human, before we have
- 29:22the Holy Spirit, we desire what Paul is going to describe, and
- 29:28the Spirit is what is contrary to the flesh.
- 29:32So we've got this like internal, you know, this, this change that
- 29:36has to happen. We have to become a new
- 29:38creation. That's why it's talked about
- 29:40being born again, born of the spirit.
- 29:43They are in conflict with each other so that you are not to do
- 29:48whatever you want but it. But if you are led by the
- 29:52spirit, you are not under the law.
- 29:54The acts of the flesh are obvious.
- 29:57So here's where it explains OK, these are the things that show
- 30:03that we don't have the Holy Spirit.
- 30:07Sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery.
- 30:13Believe that's getting drunk? Idolatry.
- 30:17You know, we have to also think about idolatry.
- 30:19Maybe we don't worship like symbols or little gods or
- 30:24something, but do we worship football players?
- 30:26Do we worship actress, actors, actresses, musicians?
- 30:32We have American Idol. Isn't that terrible that we have
- 30:36that? But are we putting somebody up
- 30:38on a pedestal where God should be?
- 30:40You know, we have to think about our lives.
- 30:42What are we? What are we doing in, in this
- 30:46world? I mean, we can even like have an
- 30:48idol as of a Christian musician. I mean, there's so many
- 30:52different things that we can create idols of something we can
- 30:55look up to that we put a pedestal.
- 30:57We just always have to check ourselves and make sure that we
- 31:01are not putting something, even another person that we love in a
- 31:06more important role than God. God must be #1 OK, so let's go
- 31:13back to what it says about. I'm going to read through this.
- 31:17The acts of the flesh are obvious.
- 31:18Sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery, idolatry and
- 31:22witchcraft. We're in this October Halloween
- 31:26season. We have to really think about
- 31:28this because witchcraft I don't even once the Holy Spirit starts
- 31:34convicting you, many people who have the Holy Spirit all of a
- 31:38sudden turn away from all the Halloween activities because
- 31:42it's just associated with death and evil.
- 31:45And when you read Galatians 520 witchcraft, it's you know, to
- 31:51glorify any of that stuff is to glorify rebellion to God.
- 31:56So why do people do it? It's ingrained into our culture
- 31:59so that people don't think anything of it.
- 32:02But ultimately, we really have to be careful because the enemy
- 32:05of God is very deceptive and will do whatever it can to pull
- 32:12us away from God. So it continues on.
- 32:15Hatred. If we're hating anybody, that's
- 32:17why forgiveness is so important. Discord, jealousy, fits of rage,
- 32:23selfish ambition. You know, ambition is good, but
- 32:27when it's all about ourselves, it's not dissension.
- 32:31So like arguing with people, factions and envy.
- 32:34So when we're envious of somebody, drunkenness, orgies
- 32:40and the like, I warn you, as I did before, that those who live
- 32:45like this will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
- 32:50That's so important. One time I was actually at a
- 32:55church, which really disturbed me that the church was actually
- 32:59reading this and they were reading through all of these
- 33:03things of, you know, the, the acts of the flesh, but they
- 33:09stopped and did not read that last sentence that said, I warn
- 33:15you as I did before, that those who live like this will not
- 33:20inherit the Kingdom of God. That really got me.
- 33:25Thankfully I had read the Bible and I knew what came next.
- 33:30And then I even double checked. I was like, did they just really
- 33:33skip over that line? So we have to really be careful
- 33:37in churches. If churches are not telling us,
- 33:40not telling us or warning us about these things, you know, we
- 33:44can just say, I mean, all that was said at that church was that
- 33:49we don't want to do that. Well, maybe somebody does want
- 33:53to do that because it says that until you have the Spirit, you
- 33:57do want that. So, you know, it's not like
- 34:01you're not going to choose. I don't know.
- 34:04There's a lot of people that don't choose to be good.
- 34:07They don't, they don't have that desire until they desire God.
- 34:11They're not going to have that desire to live like God says.
- 34:16Until we have the Holy Spirit, we don't have that.
- 34:19But the warning is just like Paul said, I warn you as I did
- 34:24before, that those who live like this will not inherit the
- 34:27Kingdom of God. Now, a church above all places
- 34:32should be telling the people, if you, if this is you, it says
- 34:37here very clearly, you're not going to be in the Kingdom of
- 34:40God. I think a lot of people who go
- 34:42to church want to be in the Kingdom of God, and they need to
- 34:47be aware that if they keep living that life like that, they
- 34:51won't. But the Holy Spirit can take
- 34:54away those things, those things that we are naturally drawn to.
- 34:59The Holy Spirit can change us with our will.
- 35:02He doesn't take over, but He will change us.
- 35:06And then here's what the fruit of the Spirit sounds like.
- 35:09The fruit of the Spirit is Lovejoy, forbearance, kindness,
- 35:15goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
- 35:21Against such things there is no law.
- 35:23Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with
- 35:28its passions and desires. So since we live by the Spirit,
- 35:33let us keep in step with the Spirit.
- 35:36So when we have the Holy Spirit, if we belong to Jesus Christ, we
- 35:40have the Holy Spirit and that will crucify.
- 35:45I mean that'll I mean that's Paul has a sometimes he's really
- 35:48hard to understand, but that will eliminate or kill off or
- 35:56suppress. Suppress is probably the right
- 35:58word for the flip the flesh and its passions.
- 36:01If we are in that place of temptation.
- 36:04It says that well, it says if you had the spirit, you don't
- 36:08keep on sinning. And if you do keep on sinning,
- 36:11all you have is judgment to face.
- 36:14But if you, God always gives us a way out so we can overcome
- 36:21with the Spirit, it probably will involve a prayer.
- 36:24It'll probably say, God help me, Jesus help me.
- 36:28But there's always a way out. It's not always an easy decision
- 36:33for us, but there's always a way out.
- 36:36Maybe it's just that we have to remove ourselves from the people
- 36:39that were around. That's a way out.
- 36:42We have to figure out what that is.
- 36:44And again, this is our choice. It is not forced upon us.
- 36:49So anyway, that's that's just really what we need to do to be
- 36:57in the Kingdom of God. What Jesus said.
- 36:59So getting back to why do we read the Bible?
- 37:01The Bible is it's it's the way that we stay close to God.
- 37:08We read the words of God. We learn from it and it there
- 37:12are certain parts of the Bible at the very beginning, it gives
- 37:16us the creation story and then it tells us about how God uses
- 37:21people that are imperfect. The people that are used in the
- 37:24Bible all have issues, just like each one of us.
- 37:27Even the great people of the Bible, they are, they're, they
- 37:32have problems and God works with those and God can use people
- 37:37that have problems. He creates newness.
- 37:40He we become a new creation when we when we are free will ask God
- 37:45for His Holy Spirit in us. He can do things that were never
- 37:49possible on our on our own. So the first five books are what
- 37:55God gave revealed to Moses. And so those books were written.
- 38:00Then there's a a grouping of books that will go through the
- 38:05history. So God did choose a people of
- 38:09all the people on the earth. God chose a people and those
- 38:12people that he chose happened to be what we call Israel.
- 38:17And he chose those people to be an example to the earth.
- 38:21Unfortunately, they were just like all of us.
- 38:24They were not perfect. And they did things.
- 38:27They did all the idolatry things.
- 38:29They sinned against God. They missed the mark of
- 38:31perfection and over and over and over again.
- 38:36But God made a promise to them that they would, that he would
- 38:40be with them, that he would be their God and they would be an
- 38:43example to all people. And he doesn't.
- 38:47God doesn't break his promises. So Israel will always be there
- 38:52will always be at least a remnant of Israel.
- 38:56Israel will never be extinguished.
- 38:59The nations that don't like Israel and say from the river to
- 39:03the sea, that's actually a promise to God of what the land
- 39:06was that God is going to give to Israel.
- 39:10But Israel's enemies use it as saying they want Israel out of
- 39:14there, all that area. So they are again, you have to
- 39:19so that there is a spiritual war behind this.
- 39:22Even though people are saying these things, there is a
- 39:25spiritual enemy of God who is inciting these people to use the
- 39:32words of God in the opposite meaning of what it has in the
- 39:36Bible. And This is why it's really
- 39:38important today to get a hard copy Bible and to to know what's
- 39:43in it, to know the truth. Because there is a narrative
- 39:47that's going out to all the world that twist.
- 39:50It tells us that good is evil and evil is good in the world
- 39:57because people do not know God, because people don't want to
- 40:02know God, because people are selfish and they reject God.
- 40:07That's why we are the way that we are today.
- 40:11And then there's the deception of the enemy that's leading
- 40:14people to thinking that evil things are good.
- 40:19So there's a lot. We need God so badly in our
- 40:23world all over. And that's one of the reasons
- 40:26why I do podcasts like this. I hope if just one person can
- 40:31learn about God or can share this with someone else, that it
- 40:35can create a snowball effect and more people can know God.
- 40:38And when we know God, God gives us blessings.
- 40:42He wants to bless our lives. He wants, He's looking for his
- 40:46children. He has great plans in the future
- 40:50for anyone who will freely choose him.
- 40:54And that's the message of the gospel is basically we have a
- 40:58way to get into God's Kingdom as his children and the Bible tells
- 41:04us how. And it's a submission to him.
- 41:07It's an obedience to God. It's receiving the Holy Spirit
- 41:10and it's what Jesus did on the cross for us.
- 41:14The the Bible does talk about the history.
- 41:17If you don't believe about Israel being God's chosen, then
- 41:22read the Old Testament because it gives you the entire history
- 41:25and how it happened. And then Israel wanted a king,
- 41:28but God said I'm your God, I'm your king.
- 41:30You don't need one. But Israel wanted one.
- 41:33So then they had a king. Then after the second King
- 41:37Solomon died, then there was his children who were competing to
- 41:45be the next king. And so then they split up.
- 41:48There were 10 tribes that went to the north and two tribes that
- 41:51were in the South. And then they had parallel
- 41:55kingdoms going on where they had different kings that were named,
- 41:59but all of them in the northern tribe were evil.
- 42:02But God did use one. That was Jehu, who actually
- 42:06pronounced judgment on another one of the kings.
- 42:10And then half of them in the southern 2 tribes of Judah and
- 42:14Benjamin, half of them were not good either.
- 42:17So there were very, very few. And Jesus was a descendant of
- 42:20the tribe of Judah. So God used all of these
- 42:25decisions that Israel made, even though they were bad ones, to
- 42:29ultimately bring about the Son of God, Jesus, to ultimately
- 42:35save all of mankind so that we can be in the Kingdom of God
- 42:39because God became flesh. That's why Jesus was sinless,
- 42:44because he was God, because he was obedient to the Father.
- 42:47He was born of the Holy Spirit. He had the indwelling of the
- 42:51Holy Spirit at his birth. That's how he was conceived, so
- 42:57that's why he was the only one who could ever save mankind,
- 43:04because he was. He was God and is God and is 1
- 43:09in spirit with the Father and that's what he wants for us.
- 43:13He prayed that before he died to to the father.
- 43:17He said make them one as we are one.
- 43:21So in the future we will we will be unified with God in that
- 43:25spiritual way. So anyway, there's there's books
- 43:29in the Bible that give all the history of Israel.
- 43:32So if you don't believe it, you know, read it.
- 43:35And then there's books of even the ones that are like poetry,
- 43:40actually have prophecy with it within them.
- 43:43I didn't even realize that at first.
- 43:44But the songs, they actually have prophecy in them.
- 43:48And that's what's interesting when you get into the Bible is
- 43:51the more you read it, the more things start popping out as,
- 43:55wow, I didn't make that connection before and now I see
- 43:58it because there's hidden things, there's hidden treasures
- 44:02within the Bible that you find out.
- 44:03Then there are prophets from the book of Isaiah all the way to
- 44:06Malachi, and they tell us what is going to happen.
- 44:11Some things that already have been fulfilled.
- 44:13A lot of them there is like throughout Isaiah, it's
- 44:16constantly talking about Jesus and Isaiah was like in 700 BC.
- 44:22So Jesus was talked about way back when.
- 44:25And then like the Ezekiel, Daniel, Joel, Amos, they all
- 44:35Zechariah, they all talk about what's going to happen in our
- 44:39future and they align with the Book of Revelation.
- 44:44And so that's another one about the future and what will happen
- 44:48to us. Like we all may be the
- 44:50generation that experiences this stuff.
- 44:53It really looks like you will start seeing when you look at
- 44:55world events, you will start seeing that things that are
- 44:59talked about by the prophets are happening right now.
- 45:03And so we need to have our eyes open to that.
- 45:06And then when you are in the New Testament, there are four people
- 45:10who wrote about Jesus. Matthew was one of the
- 45:14disciples. Mark was a friend of one of the
- 45:17disciples, Peter. Luke was a Doctor Who
- 45:21interviewed a bunch of people and then wrote about their
- 45:25eyewitness accounts. And then John was also one of
- 45:29the disciples. And John referred to himself as
- 45:33the one that Jesus loved, which I always thought was
- 45:35interesting, but he felt closest to Jesus.
- 45:38So I really like reading the book of John because when you
- 45:42want to learn about somebody, you want to get to the closest
- 45:45friend of theirs. Tell us the you know, the the
- 45:48inside details about Jesus and you know what he was all about.
- 45:53Well, that's the book of John. That's the Gospel of John.
- 45:56So then you get into the book of Acts, which is about all the
- 45:59miracles that occurred once Jesus gave the Holy Spirit to
- 46:03his followers and they were his followers were actually
- 46:06performing miracles and and doing the things that Jesus did.
- 46:11He said, you will do even greater things than I've done,
- 46:13like, you know, bringing people back to life, healing people,
- 46:18all sorts of things that the Holy Spirit enabled.
- 46:22And now these are not for show. And there are, you know, there's
- 46:26a condemnation about that or, you know, a correction, a
- 46:31judgement about that. Like you don't do it for show.
- 46:34This is the only reason God would allow some miracle to
- 46:38happen is for his ultimate glory so that people can know God
- 46:44through that miracle that happens.
- 46:47So there's a purpose behind the miracles.
- 46:49It's kind of like the ultimate purpose is so that God may be
- 46:52known. The secondary purpose is
- 46:55whatever was asked for in, you know, are done in the name of
- 47:00the Lord. Then there's the books of that
- 47:04Paul wrote Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians,
- 47:07Philippians, Colossians, Thessalonians, and all those
- 47:12books tell us how to live. So in the New Testament we can
- 47:16find all of the the guidance on living in the first Timothy,
- 47:20second Timothy, A lot of those books tell us how to live.
- 47:24And the book of Hebrews is really good because it takes, it
- 47:27kind of summarizes the Old Testament and gives us some of
- 47:31the, the, the good facts that we need to know about what the Old
- 47:35Testament is all about. Then James, Peter, first,
- 47:40second, third, John and Jude. Those are all I guess James and
- 47:45Jude are brothers of Jesus, so like a stepbrother of Jesus and
- 47:52and so they have books in the Bible too.
- 47:55Peter was one of the apostles of Jesus.
- 47:57So he has a couple of books and then Johnny has even more books
- 48:021-2 and three and then the Book of Revelation at the very end of
- 48:06the Bible. That is a vision that John had,
- 48:09you know, some time before he died in 90.
- 48:13Adi think that's when it was written or the last book of the
- 48:15Bible was written. And so he talks about our
- 48:18future. So that is hopefully hitting the
- 48:24major points of the Bible and why we should read the Bible
- 48:27every day getting in the word more and more things will
- 48:31solidify in our minds. We will understand it the more
- 48:34that we get into the Bible. The Bible is changing so many
- 48:38people including myself like I am one who the Bible changed my
- 48:42life. Reading the Bible open my eyes
- 48:46and I chose to change my life and invited got into my life in
- 48:54a serious way after reading the Bible.
- 48:58So I hope that happens to you. If this was good for you, please
- 49:02share this with other people too.
- 49:03Thank you.
