- 0:09Speaker 1: Inside the Birds is back.
- 0:14Speaker 2: What's going on everybody? Jeff Mosher here, Adam Kaplan, and
- 0:18Speaker 2: we got a lot.
- 0:18Speaker 1: To talk about in this podcast because the Eagles were
- 0:21Speaker 1: the brass were out in Arizona this week at owners meeting.
- 0:25Speaker 1: So you got Jeffrey Leurie speaking, that's always fun, Howie
- 0:28Speaker 1: Roseman speaking, and of course Nick Sirianni speaking, and then
- 0:31Speaker 1: you get what I always loved about Owners meetings, Adam,
- 0:34Speaker 1: is it's an opportunity to go ask other coaches who
- 0:38Speaker 1: either have ties to the Eagles or had coach players
- 0:42Speaker 1: the Eagles just got right to get their opinion on
- 0:46Speaker 1: what that player could bring to the Eagles. So it's
- 0:49Speaker 1: it's a it's a smorgas board of of good NFL storts.
- 0:52Speaker 3: And I'll tell you what it's the cool thing about
- 0:54Speaker 3: it is, if you've been there long enough, you know
- 0:56Speaker 3: kind of the ins and outs to how to get information.
- 0:58Speaker 3: So yep, sometimes you go to areas you're not supposed
- 1:02Speaker 3: to be, like you might sit with a coach, you
- 1:04Speaker 3: might go to the pool. You know, if you kind
- 1:06Speaker 3: of know how to do it, you kind of weasele
- 1:09Speaker 3: your way over there and see if you know anyone.
- 1:12Speaker 3: Because What you do is you might text someone, hey, hey,
- 1:14Speaker 3: I haven't seen you in a walk. We catch up? Sure,
- 1:16Speaker 3: meet me at meet me at the pool. You know,
- 1:19Speaker 3: they'll tell me where to go, but where it's a
- 1:22Speaker 3: little bit they're a little bit. In fact, they're very
- 1:25Speaker 3: less guarded. They've got their family around. They just want
- 1:27Speaker 3: to hang out and be relaxed. Eventually you get to
- 1:30Speaker 3: what you want to ask them. Yeah, you can find
- 1:32Speaker 3: out about They're generally a lot easier to talk to
- 1:36Speaker 3: about players who are not on their team.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Yes, very much more honest, right right now.
- 1:43Speaker 3: It's someone you know, even though for years they're fine
- 1:46Speaker 3: with it. But if it's someone you know casually, it's
- 1:50Speaker 3: more like you said, hey, what do you want to
- 1:51Speaker 3: know about? What? Who you What do you want to
- 1:54Speaker 3: know about? Which players around the league you want to
- 1:55Speaker 3: know about? Or what coach you know? If there's a
- 1:58Speaker 3: new coach, what are your opinion with your opinion on them?
- 2:01Speaker 3: Or if they can for your building, if they came
- 2:02Speaker 3: for that building. You know, that's stuff important because you
- 2:06Speaker 3: want to know. In this particular cases, our show is
- 2:09Speaker 3: generally about the Eagles. Okay, well what do they know
- 2:11Speaker 3: about Sean Mannion? Like you. If you're there, you might
- 2:14Speaker 3: run into well, there you would you run into a
- 2:17Speaker 3: team president, head coach, general manager, and not all of them.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Some teams bring their their contract negotiator correct family. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Sometimes you wind up meeting like a brother, a wife,
- 2:32Speaker 1: you know, a grown up son or daughter of a
- 2:35Speaker 1: of a coach or an executive and get a good
- 2:37Speaker 1: conversation going and you.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Might just find out a little bit more about the family.
- 2:41Speaker 1: So it's it's yeah, it's it's interesting because I feel
- 2:43Speaker 1: like each of the three off season events because I
- 2:45Speaker 1: have a great I have a great I guess maybe
- 2:48Speaker 1: it would be great for reporters type story about one
- 2:51Speaker 1: of the owners meetings I went to. But like at
- 2:54Speaker 1: that we talk about the combine for the nightlife, the
- 2:56Speaker 1: chance to get out there and you know, maybe get
- 2:59Speaker 1: to know these on different level in restaurants and bars.
- 3:02Speaker 1: And then there's the senior bawl, which is not what
- 3:04Speaker 1: it used to be. But everybody's in the watching the game,
- 3:07Speaker 1: so you can sit next to someone while they're watching
- 3:09Speaker 1: practice and have a conversation. Sure, and I think the
- 3:12Speaker 1: owner's meetings is even more interesting for what you just said.
- 3:15Speaker 1: The very laid back loose environment where you can actually
- 3:18Speaker 1: like arrange a meet up with someone I happen to be.
- 3:21Speaker 1: This is my story, I happen to and this is
- 3:23Speaker 1: how it works at the at the owner's meetings, and
- 3:26Speaker 1: it's especially when it's at the Biltmore, which is in Arizona,
- 3:28Speaker 1: which is the one that was this week, right, I
- 3:31Speaker 1: was just done with a press like the morning breakfast.
- 3:34Speaker 1: The press conferences are all the morning. They're called the
- 3:36Speaker 1: Breakfast with the Coaches. They do AFC one day and
- 3:38Speaker 1: I see the next. And I was writing a story,
- 3:41Speaker 1: and I was out on the Biltmore patio enjoying like
- 3:43Speaker 1: the beautiful weather of Arizona, and I'm sitting at a
- 3:47Speaker 1: booth and like the booth behind me is I'm not
- 3:50Speaker 1: gonna go with names. I'll just say a very prominent
- 3:53Speaker 1: agent and at the time a very prominent NFL head coach.
- 3:56Speaker 1: And right then and there, within earshot, they were negotiating
- 4:02Speaker 1: a contract for a player. Now it's April, right, so
- 4:05Speaker 1: we're not talking about a five year one.
- 4:08Speaker 2: It was still a one.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:10Speaker 1: But the point is you don't really get privy in
- 4:13Speaker 1: our jobs. Just sit there while the contract negotiation is
- 4:16Speaker 1: going on.
- 4:17Speaker 2: So I thought that that was really interesting. I pretended
- 4:19Speaker 2: to not be hearing.
- 4:21Speaker 3: I turned my Honestly, there are certain agents, the great
- 4:25Speaker 3: Frank Bauer, who's got Devanti Adams, and they had Mark
- 4:28Speaker 3: Brunel and known frankent number of years. You know, Frank
- 4:30Speaker 3: the silver Fox. He would go Ruf Sindrich, a legendary agent.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Oh he's a legend.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Yeah, he's a legend. Hit him and his wife are wonderful.
- 4:39Speaker 3: They just had a They would go to every NFL
- 4:42Speaker 3: owners meetings going back to like the late eighties, early
- 4:45Speaker 3: nineties because they loved it. It was a vacation from them.
- 4:49Speaker 3: But as you said, and Joe Rosenhals would go. Drew
- 4:52Speaker 3: usually has a very long list. Number one year chasing
- 4:55Speaker 3: him down for Cleo Lemon. That's how long ago it was. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 5:02Speaker 3: I need to get I was working on. It was
- 5:05Speaker 3: some team I wanted to get the scoop. I just
- 5:08Speaker 3: remember asking him, hey, is this true? It might have
- 5:10Speaker 3: been Miami, I don't remember. I know he played for Jacksonville,
- 5:12Speaker 3: but whatever he was going, I said, hey, this is
- 5:14Speaker 3: what I'm hearing. You know, I wanted to ask him.
- 5:16Speaker 3: He was there, must well ask him. Drew Cholz because
- 5:18Speaker 3: he's got such a lung. Like you said, once you
- 5:22Speaker 3: get to the owner's meetings, which is roughly three to
- 5:28Speaker 3: four weeks in to free agency, this is when it's
- 5:32Speaker 3: bargain basement. You're just lucky to get a one year
- 5:34Speaker 3: deal with a little bit of guaranteed money. You know
- 5:37Speaker 3: at this point if you're there. So, yeah, it's important.
- 5:39Speaker 3: And again it's generally it's it's very casual. All the
- 5:43Speaker 3: teams are represented, all the gams are going to be there. No,
- 5:46Speaker 3: it's just a it's a it's a good time and
- 5:48Speaker 3: the Biltmore is phenomenal, the scenery and I'm big I'm
- 5:52Speaker 3: not a big cigar smoker, but that's one or two
- 5:55Speaker 3: times a year I dank. I'll drink a little bit
- 5:57Speaker 3: and smoke cigars is a big thing. I love doing
- 5:59Speaker 3: it there.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I am a cigar smoker and I really
- 6:03Speaker 2: enjoy that area for that.
- 6:04Speaker 3: I do that. I didn't know that about you.
- 6:06Speaker 1: I'm not an every day but I'll have Like God,
- 6:09Speaker 1: I try to, you know, when I can get away
- 6:12Speaker 1: with it the family around three or four a month
- 6:15Speaker 1: if I can, that's a good month for me.
- 6:17Speaker 2: But yeah, no, it's it is a great place. You're right,
- 6:19Speaker 2: the air is so nice.
- 6:21Speaker 1: I was in jeans, and you know, I was kind
- 6:23Speaker 1: of dressed for sixty degree weather.
- 6:25Speaker 2: I think I had a.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Hoodie on, and then I looked down and my I
- 6:29Speaker 1: remember saying the phone said, it's like eighty eight degrees.
- 6:32Speaker 1: But it doesn't feel that way in Arizona. It feels
- 6:34Speaker 1: like a nice, comfortable day where you can wear try heat. Yeah, yeah,
- 6:38Speaker 1: dry heat. Absolutely absolutely.
- 6:40Speaker 2: All right.
- 6:40Speaker 1: We got the NFL Draft coming up, so we've already
- 6:42Speaker 1: started our as you guys listening, no and if you haven't,
- 6:46Speaker 1: we've started our NFL Draft preview coverage with Greg Cosel
- 6:50Speaker 1: The Intel. With Greg Cosell, he breaks down every single position.
- 6:54Speaker 1: We go position by position and he gets a lot
- 6:57Speaker 1: of guys. We get a lot of guys, and we
- 6:58Speaker 1: go through about fifteen to twenty guys if we can
- 7:00Speaker 1: and at each position. And that's been out and then
- 7:02Speaker 1: we just had our first ask Greg Cosel for our
- 7:05Speaker 1: Patreon members and it went well. There were a lot
- 7:08Speaker 1: of really good questions about the draft and draft prospects
- 7:12Speaker 1: and the scouting. That's another good thing if you're a
- 7:14Speaker 1: Patreon member and you get to talk to directly to
- 7:17Speaker 1: Greg and these live streams is that you can ask
- 7:20Speaker 1: him about his process of scouting. He's very open on
- 7:23Speaker 1: how he does it. You know what might be different
- 7:26Speaker 1: from him compared to somebody in the NFL who works
- 7:28Speaker 1: for a specific team and has a specific scheme. So
- 7:31Speaker 1: he really brings you inside everything he does. So again,
- 7:34Speaker 1: you gotta be a tier three member Patreon Inside the
- 7:36Speaker 1: Birds dot com slash Patreon. We don't have a single
- 7:40Speaker 1: Patreon member who's ever complained. They love the births, they
- 7:43Speaker 1: love every podcast getting uploaded the night before with no ads,
- 7:48Speaker 1: no reads, just undistilled. Inside the Birds break down every podcast.
- 7:52Speaker 3: And information that we don't talk about on our regular shows.
- 7:57Speaker 3: And there's a reason for it. But and welcome to
- 7:59Speaker 3: Arlene member Brad who literally Brad, you sign up right
- 8:04Speaker 3: right during our our last night with with Greg. I'm
- 8:08Speaker 3: sorry that you missed him, but since you since you
- 8:10Speaker 3: got yeah, he will get to see the replay, get
- 8:14Speaker 3: to see mine from Wednesday with We do that one,
- 8:16Speaker 3: by the way, every Wednesday, and and next Thursday will
- 8:19Speaker 3: be the one, next one with Greg. And the good
- 8:22Speaker 3: thing about Greg is he'll go as long as if
- 8:24Speaker 3: if we have fifty people show up. It takes him
- 8:27Speaker 3: an hour. He wants to make sure everyone gets a question.
- 8:30Speaker 3: He loves it because it what's interesting is you talked
- 8:34Speaker 3: about it. It makes him think sometimes about maybe some
- 8:36Speaker 3: players that got like someone asked about Okay, who's a
- 8:40Speaker 3: good mid round sleeper, a guy that could fit in
- 8:42Speaker 3: for an Eagle with Eagles as a next receiver. He
- 8:45Speaker 3: loves ted Hurst. That's his guy this year, like our
- 8:47Speaker 3: guy last year was Jayalo two years ago was Jayala's
- 8:49Speaker 3: funem Hm, this is his and it just happens to
- 8:52Speaker 3: be mine. He brought I'll have to give him credit.
- 8:54Speaker 3: I I I know who he was. I know he's
- 8:56Speaker 3: at the senior ball. I had not done enough work
- 8:58Speaker 3: on him yet. I usually it just depends when I
- 9:00Speaker 3: talk to receivers coaches. I just started doing it. And
- 9:04Speaker 3: I know what Bill Pauline told me about guys who
- 9:07Speaker 3: go to small schools who are really great players. Grade
- 9:10Speaker 3: the player, not the school. Let the tape tell you
- 9:13Speaker 3: how good the player is. He doesn't control who he
- 9:16Speaker 3: goes against. And I'll be interested to see which team
- 9:19Speaker 3: drafts him. Because Greg said he's a pure x receiver.
- 9:22Speaker 3: That's what the Eagles may need if they trade aj Brown.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 9:26Speaker 1: All right, let's get into the Jeffrey Lurie press conference.
- 9:30Speaker 1: It was long, it was thirty minutes. He covered a
- 9:32Speaker 1: lot of topics. If you're if you haven't seen it
- 9:35Speaker 1: and you just want a good laugh. In the first
- 9:38Speaker 1: five minutes, somebody asked him about Jalen's contract extension and
- 9:43Speaker 1: what kind of year he thought Jalen had, and Jeffrey
- 9:46Speaker 1: thought he was talking about Jollen Carter. The question was
- 9:48Speaker 1: about Jalen Hurts. So his response to Jalen Carter was
- 9:52Speaker 1: kind of like it was He's good, you know it.
- 9:54Speaker 1: It was kind of like whatever, you know. And then
- 9:57Speaker 1: he realized the question was about Hurts, and he had
- 9:59Speaker 1: a kind of I go back and be like whoa, whoa, whoa,
- 10:02Speaker 1: And then he really fun.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, he showed his love for Jeon Hurst. But
- 10:05Speaker 2: he talked about a lot of things.
- 10:06Speaker 1: And I think, Adam, you wanted to bring this up,
- 10:08Speaker 1: and I thought it was really good idea of you.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Because we don't always talk about this enough.
- 10:15Speaker 1: But do you whether or not jefferre lellur is talking
- 10:19Speaker 1: through his teeth or not, whatever you believe, it doesn't matter.
- 10:22Speaker 1: The man you cannot deny the man as his finger
- 10:26Speaker 1: on the pulse of the Eagles. I do remember a
- 10:28Speaker 1: time a long time we n chip Kelly era where
- 10:30Speaker 1: there were some questions he was not always around the
- 10:32Speaker 1: team as much as he had been before, But that
- 10:35Speaker 1: was very brief, and he is. He made a comment
- 10:38Speaker 1: about how he wakes up sometimes at four in the
- 10:41Speaker 1: morning wondering about like their long snapper depth, and then
- 10:45Speaker 1: like saying, should I text Howie about this?
- 10:47Speaker 2: And all I could think of is like, man, poor Howie, right.
- 10:51Speaker 3: But.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you're right, knowing how he's probably awakened for
- 10:57Speaker 1: it in the morning thinking about the exact same thing.
- 10:59Speaker 1: But a lot of owners at him, and even some
- 11:02Speaker 1: good ones. Some good ones just like hire people and
- 11:05Speaker 1: let him run. Not as many owners are as hands on.
- 11:09Speaker 1: They let their people do their job. But I have
- 11:12Speaker 1: just such a keen understanding of what's going on with
- 11:15Speaker 1: their team as Jeffrey does.
- 11:17Speaker 3: So I remember years ago, I know we talked about
- 11:20Speaker 3: this because we got some feedback. We there were a
- 11:22Speaker 3: couple of times we said that Jeffery's too involved and
- 11:24Speaker 3: they you know, some people reach out to us too,
- 11:27Speaker 3: not to go too deep and just say we were
- 11:29Speaker 3: wrong that we're overdoing it. We weren't. I understand, like
- 11:33Speaker 3: you have to protect the guy who wents a football team.
- 11:35Speaker 3: I get that Jeffrey's an awesome guy, big fan, but
- 11:40Speaker 3: I've we've also wore our jobs to tell the truth. Right,
- 11:43Speaker 3: There are some times with the I know he didn't
- 11:46Speaker 3: make the arthega Whiteside pick to be clear, yes, But
- 11:50Speaker 3: the problem was people there at the time thought because
- 11:52Speaker 3: it was a player he really we were first people
- 11:54Speaker 3: to talk about this in other egals to people. Reporters
- 11:58Speaker 3: and bloggers run about and talked about it and whatever.
- 12:02Speaker 3: And when he gives it, when he makes it known
- 12:06Speaker 3: that a player who he likes, sometimes there's oh boy,
- 12:08Speaker 3: you know the boss likes him. Should we drink? You know?
- 12:12Speaker 3: Sometimes the guy's a little bit more well thought of
- 12:14Speaker 3: than he maybe should be. It was our only point
- 12:16Speaker 3: whenever the hell was he drafted twenty nineteen? Does that
- 12:18Speaker 3: sound right?
- 12:19Speaker 1: I think of Whiteside was twenty twenty nineteen. Yeah, I
- 12:22Speaker 1: think you're right.
- 12:23Speaker 3: Okay, second round out of Stanford. Yeah, yeah, I know that.
- 12:25Speaker 3: I know the analytics were good on him, but you
- 12:28Speaker 3: and I ran into a personal person, you know, where
- 12:30Speaker 3: I'm going here. This is one of the best knights
- 12:33Speaker 3: of Jeff and I working together. We were at the
- 12:35Speaker 3: We're going to talk about this now because it's fun.
- 12:37Speaker 3: This is literally I think Jeff almost passed out. It
- 12:41Speaker 3: lasts so hard. So this personnel executive said that he
- 12:47Speaker 3: battled with his GM because he gave him either seventh
- 12:52Speaker 3: round grade or undirected free agent. This personal guy, and
- 12:57Speaker 3: I'm not going to go quite into the scouting report,
- 12:59Speaker 3: but he was very critical that guy was. He didn't
- 13:02Speaker 3: run anywhere close to the tape showed. He didn't run fast.
- 13:05Speaker 3: He was slow. You could hear him run. How slow
- 13:07Speaker 3: he was. I mean you hear that beat. You could
- 13:10Speaker 3: hear him run, okay, how slow he was. And you
- 13:14Speaker 3: know this is why data only says one thing. The
- 13:18Speaker 3: tape tells you another. The tape tells you everything. Kay
- 13:22Speaker 3: tells you what it looks like, what his play speed
- 13:24Speaker 3: is like, the time speed is. You should always take
- 13:27Speaker 3: all the data in, you absolutely should, but you have
- 13:30Speaker 3: to make a decision based on tape study. That's the
- 13:31Speaker 3: number one criteria. No one, even data people will tell you.
- 13:34Speaker 3: We get that tape is number one, but we have
- 13:36Speaker 3: other things.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Add to that, being there being there to watch it
- 13:40Speaker 1: in person, because so yeah, right.
- 13:44Speaker 3: But we get back to Jeffrey. One of the things
- 13:45Speaker 3: I really admire about him. He is unbelieva passionate, passionate
- 13:49Speaker 3: about football. He talked about that he loves the game.
- 13:52Speaker 3: Any reporter has ever talked to him privately, It's not
- 13:54Speaker 3: a secret how much he loves football. He's obsessed with it.
- 13:57Speaker 3: You love that, you love that? There's really Now how
- 14:01Speaker 3: did you rec like? What was your thinking when he
- 14:03Speaker 3: said he's more involved than ever, which is I'm kind
- 14:06Speaker 3: of surprised by that. I don't I'm not sure what
- 14:09Speaker 3: that means other than he talked about texting howie whatever
- 14:12Speaker 3: you know for something that's trivial. But what was your
- 14:15Speaker 3: reaction or fought when he said that?
- 14:17Speaker 2: I wasn't sure if he was.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Being very literal, like he is more involved more now
- 14:25Speaker 1: than last year and the year before, or if it's
- 14:27Speaker 1: just because I feel like from what we know and
- 14:30Speaker 1: what we hear, he's very involved as far as knowing
- 14:33Speaker 1: everything that's going on, understanding football, trying to learn as
- 14:37Speaker 1: much as he possibly can.
- 14:38Speaker 2: So I don't know if he's.
- 14:39Speaker 1: More involved now than he was at this time last year.
- 14:42Speaker 1: But I thought it was just his way of saying
- 14:44Speaker 1: what you just said. He's obsessed with football, he's always involved,
- 14:48Speaker 1: talks to his players. He was asked about that copy,
- 14:51Speaker 1: so he evaded the question about the time he went
- 14:53Speaker 1: to talk on the field to Aj Brown after AJ
- 14:56Speaker 1: was going crazy on social media with all these you know,
- 15:00Speaker 1: sub comments and everything like that, and he made a remark,
- 15:03Speaker 1: I'm constantly talking to my player. I go out for
- 15:06Speaker 1: dinner with my player, you know, and so so yeah.
- 15:09Speaker 1: I mean, that's what I made of it, is that
- 15:11Speaker 1: he's not a guy. There are some owners who run
- 15:14Speaker 1: their businesses and also own a sports team, and they're
- 15:19Speaker 1: not there every single day. They know every single thing.
- 15:22Speaker 1: That's why they hire certain people to make sure it's
- 15:25Speaker 1: run that way.
- 15:26Speaker 3: You know.
- 15:26Speaker 1: There are some owners who hire a president along with
- 15:29Speaker 1: the gm and the president is making football decisions, whereas
- 15:33Speaker 1: the president of the Eagles, Domson Lensky, great guy, awesome guy,
- 15:37Speaker 1: is more of a business president and he's involved in stuff.
- 15:41Speaker 2: He knows what's going on.
- 15:42Speaker 1: I'm not trying to take power away from what I'm
- 15:44Speaker 1: saying is it's a little different than maybe the Bears.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Chicago Bears president who oversees a lot of football matters
- 15:51Speaker 1: that might be going on.
- 15:52Speaker 2: You understand where I'm getting with that.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Right, yes, yes, so, But he was asked about Julian's presidence.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Julian for people who really want to know, he's very
- 16:00Speaker 3: involved in spending the cash spend in football non football operations.
- 16:06Speaker 3: That's very well known around the league. It's it's agents
- 16:09Speaker 3: know this. It's pretty interesting by the way. Agents really
- 16:12Speaker 3: know this stuff. Yeah, they know that Eagles building, you know,
- 16:15Speaker 3: they know how he and one of the reasons why
- 16:18Speaker 3: the Egles have this great reputation is because Jeffrey treats
- 16:22Speaker 3: his people he works who work for him, excuse me,
- 16:27Speaker 3: really well, pays well, treats family as well, very responsive,
- 16:32Speaker 3: and which leads to the next thing was the stadium situation.
- 16:36Speaker 3: Their lease is up in thirty two. He didn't deny
- 16:39Speaker 3: that they're looking at potential other options around the league,
- 16:42Speaker 3: around the world. You know, that's obviously a long ways off,
- 16:46Speaker 3: but there's really no more fan friendly NFL owner than
- 16:52Speaker 3: he is. So I don't rule anything out. I think,
- 16:55Speaker 3: you know, it's obviously a long ways away. I just
- 16:58Speaker 3: would wonder where they had put it to be still
- 17:00Speaker 3: in the stadium complex. If they do it again, we'll see,
- 17:03Speaker 3: we don't. They may keep the Lincoln and just refurbish it.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Who knows, but which he kind of said, right, he
- 17:08Speaker 1: said he was looking at what they've done to current
- 17:11Speaker 1: venues in Barcelona. I think he mentioned even Cleveland. He
- 17:14Speaker 1: said Nashville a couple of time. I guess National has
- 17:16Speaker 1: been renovated a lot.
- 17:17Speaker 3: I was, Oh, yeah, it's a new one. Actually, this
- 17:19Speaker 3: is a new one. Okay, oh yeah, the new statement's beautiful.
- 17:22Speaker 3: So we'll say. But he's all about being fan friendly.
- 17:26Speaker 3: I hope when he retires at Julian will be as
- 17:28Speaker 3: fan friendly. Like I don't know the guys, so I
- 17:30Speaker 3: don't it's hard to know. Like I just know that
- 17:34Speaker 3: he's he looks over the cash with Don so he's
- 17:39Speaker 3: very involved in it. So but being fan friendly, there's
- 17:42Speaker 3: no way to know that because he's that's not you know,
- 17:44Speaker 3: he's not running the team now, so you know he's
- 17:47Speaker 3: not yet. Jeffrey's not retired yet. So it's that that's
- 17:49Speaker 3: another subject dowt for maybe over the next couple of years.
- 17:52Speaker 1: No, but that does tie into your question that you
- 17:54Speaker 1: asked me. Was I surprised on how involved he is.
- 17:58Speaker 1: And while I'm not yet surprised, I mean I think
- 18:00Speaker 1: you and I have both wondered and both talked to
- 18:02Speaker 1: people who know the Eagles or have ties to the Eagles,
- 18:05Speaker 1: are in and around the Eagles, and you know, wonder,
- 18:07Speaker 1: at what point, because we've seen Julian rise up and
- 18:12Speaker 1: now have a title within the organization, at what point
- 18:15Speaker 1: will Jeffrey be willing to or ready I should say,
- 18:19Speaker 1: to hand that baton over. And I've wondered how far
- 18:23Speaker 1: it is around the corner. If you were to listen
- 18:25Speaker 1: to the press conference, you would think it's pretty far away.
- 18:27Speaker 2: But that's just because the way he spoke.
- 18:30Speaker 3: That's why I asked you because I had the same thought.
- 18:33Speaker 3: I was like, wow, I'm he's actually saying I'm really
- 18:36Speaker 3: in because you know, it's funny years ago he downplayed it.
- 18:41Speaker 3: I was at I don't know what Owner's meanings was.
- 18:43Speaker 3: I was sitting like the third row, and I don't
- 18:44Speaker 3: think he was looking at me. But I maybe it's
- 18:47Speaker 3: just kind of funny how he brought they asked him,
- 18:51Speaker 3: so I don't know which reporter asked him something. It's
- 18:53Speaker 3: like cool. I can't wait to hear what he said,
- 18:54Speaker 3: and he deflected. He goes, no, no, no, I'm not
- 18:58Speaker 3: I don't get this, that and the other. So good
- 19:00Speaker 3: for him. I just think he's awesome. We always tell
- 19:04Speaker 3: the truth. If we didn't think he wasn't awesome, we
- 19:07Speaker 3: would say it. He's just it's hard. I don't I've
- 19:11Speaker 3: never talked. I don't know if anyone you you tell
- 19:13Speaker 3: me any former coach front office member. I can't think
- 19:20Speaker 3: of anyone who's ever had a negative thing to say
- 19:22Speaker 3: about it. Have you seriously? No?
- 19:25Speaker 1: In fact, I would say even some of the people
- 19:28Speaker 1: that we know and we've talked to who may have
- 19:30Speaker 1: not been happy with him at some of those junctures
- 19:33Speaker 1: in which they felt he was a little too hands
- 19:36Speaker 1: done or yeah yeah, they still would on a personal level.
- 19:42Speaker 1: These people love him and he's done. How can you
- 19:45Speaker 1: know he's said some really nice things for his employees.
- 19:47Speaker 3: He's a good man. He's a good man. He's upbeat,
- 19:50Speaker 3: super upbeat, great energy. I've I've I know you've talked
- 19:55Speaker 3: to him. I've I've enjoyed my private time. You're talking
- 19:57Speaker 3: him over the here. It's been a while, but uh,
- 20:00Speaker 3: I just I don't know. It's I don't know a
- 20:03Speaker 3: lot of owners, and I know a decent amount of
- 20:05Speaker 3: team presence I've dealt with over the years. But Don's
- 20:07Speaker 3: a good guy. But it's just uh, more power to it, man,
- 20:11Speaker 3: until you lose your energy, till you say you're done,
- 20:14Speaker 3: until you're ready to hand over Jolan, he might as
- 20:16Speaker 3: well keep doing it, you know.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Yeah, now why not? Yeah? Of course.
- 20:20Speaker 1: I mean the big takeaway is you heard him talk
- 20:22Speaker 1: about the obsession with the third super Bowl, and I
- 20:25Speaker 1: think he wants that to happen.
- 20:26Speaker 2: He obviously wants to happen sooner than later.
- 20:29Speaker 1: And I do feel like a part of that is
- 20:31Speaker 1: he wants to have three before he definitely hands it
- 20:34Speaker 1: off because he felt you could tell by the way
- 20:37Speaker 1: he said it, he felt like he should already have it.
- 20:39Speaker 1: He felt like that loss to the Chiefs a couple
- 20:41Speaker 1: of years ago was a spoiled opportunity. You know, he
- 20:45Speaker 1: talked about that game. He felt like you should have
- 20:47Speaker 1: that third one. He's got two. He definitely wants three,
- 20:50Speaker 1: and if they win another, we'll see what happens after that.
- 20:53Speaker 1: One thing he said or didn't say. And I credit
- 20:56Speaker 1: Jeff McLean of The Inquirer for asking Jeff asked him
- 20:59Speaker 1: about the CA spend where he's always been way ahead
- 21:03Speaker 1: of everybody else, but the last year or two not
- 21:06Speaker 1: as much, and he goes, oh, no, no, no, no, he
- 21:08Speaker 1: said no, no, and then he sort of took that
- 21:12Speaker 1: and then massaged the answer to start talking about the
- 21:15Speaker 1: salary cap and always being and how good how he
- 21:18Speaker 1: has been at finding ways to do what they do.
- 21:22Speaker 1: So he never really addressed the question Jeff's asking, which
- 21:26Speaker 1: is are you spending are you starting to not be
- 21:29Speaker 1: the guy who's going to be putting out more money
- 21:31Speaker 1: than the cap year to year. So we didn't really
- 21:34Speaker 1: get the full answer on that.
- 21:35Speaker 3: No, but what they do Okay, I heard that, and
- 21:37Speaker 3: I know what they're doing because they spent cash over cap.
- 21:40Speaker 3: We've talked about the option bonuses, the contract structure. But
- 21:44Speaker 3: what they're doing is they're building from within. They like
- 21:46Speaker 3: they if you. Up until twenty one, when how he
- 21:50Speaker 3: really turned his career around. In terms of a drafter,
- 21:53Speaker 3: he was super obsessed with free agency. Yes, he knew
- 21:56Speaker 3: how important the draft was, but he wasn't getting it.
- 21:58Speaker 3: He wasn't nailing it. Now he mostly nails it. He's
- 22:02Speaker 3: really good, except, like we've talked about third day's gotta
- 22:05Speaker 3: be better. But he's really good at it. But there's
- 22:09Speaker 3: been a there's been a philosophical shift. I think part
- 22:13Speaker 3: of it is when you start drafting really well, it's
- 22:16Speaker 3: you've become a draft and developed team. Yep, that's it.
- 22:19Speaker 3: And that's why it's become a good problem to have
- 22:23Speaker 3: because now it's like he I think he talked about
- 22:25Speaker 3: mill Williams. Jeffrey let off with that. That was good.
- 22:27Speaker 3: I this is when I thought, I think sometimes he
- 22:30Speaker 3: kind of rambles and he's evasive when he's when he's
- 22:32Speaker 3: he comes in because he's aware. He reads everything, I'm sure,
- 22:35Speaker 3: and he sees when there's criticism, the don't think it's fair.
- 22:37Speaker 3: So sometimes he comes in with a little bit of
- 22:39Speaker 3: a chip, or he doesn't. He was happy to go
- 22:41Speaker 3: in any place. And plus they didn't win the super Bowl.
- 22:44Speaker 3: And then the other thing he said, which which I liked.
- 22:46Speaker 3: I'm glad because we don't usually do this stuff with
- 22:48Speaker 3: with Jeffrey, but I thought this was good. He caught
- 22:51Speaker 3: my ear when he said, I'm really like our plan
- 22:53Speaker 3: for the season. Mm hmm, okay, not that he's going
- 22:56Speaker 3: to tell us what the plane is but how he's
- 22:57Speaker 3: outlined on what their plan is, probably knows who they
- 23:00Speaker 3: like in the draft. He knows who they're going to extend,
- 23:04Speaker 3: and he let he was in the interviews with Sean Manning,
- 23:06Speaker 3: so he knows. I mean there's some positivity here. But
- 23:10Speaker 3: they got a draft. Well, so we'll.
- 23:11Speaker 2: See, yep, yep.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Less thing with him obviously, Well, well, I wanted to
- 23:17Speaker 1: ask get let's close off the stadium thing with this.
- 23:20Speaker 1: So they've already started exploring it, the idea of a
- 23:24Speaker 1: new stadium, which puts them ahead because their lease isn't
- 23:26Speaker 1: up for still quite a bit. I think two thousand
- 23:28Speaker 1: and what was the two thirty two, so they got
- 23:32Speaker 1: a while here, you know, six years. And he was
- 23:34Speaker 1: saying the first time they did it, they only had
- 23:36Speaker 1: a couple of years, so they're well ahead of the pace.
- 23:39Speaker 2: I personally hope they do not put a dome on.
- 23:43Speaker 3: Oh we'll see, here's the problem. See, Okay, this is
- 23:47Speaker 3: the issue. He knows that the chances of any cold
- 23:53Speaker 3: weather stadium city getting a stadium I've begetting a super
- 23:59Speaker 3: Bowl is nil. I know we had one walked out.
- 24:04Speaker 3: It was the game of the Medlands. Yep, it might
- 24:07Speaker 3: have been a metal I'm sure is that MetLife?
- 24:09Speaker 2: It was?
- 24:09Speaker 3: Yeah, Yeah, it was that MetLife And it just happened
- 24:12Speaker 3: to be by a miracle in the in the winter
- 24:15Speaker 3: with the mid fifties and.
- 24:16Speaker 2: The game stuck and then it snowed the next day. Amazing.
- 24:19Speaker 3: Okay, and yeah, and you plus, I remember talking to
- 24:23Speaker 3: Jeffrey about it many years ago about it because I said, hey,
- 24:26Speaker 3: how about a super Bowl here? Said, well, you know,
- 24:28Speaker 3: hotel room's got to have enough of them. It's a
- 24:30Speaker 3: very brief conversation I've just thought about because this kind,
- 24:32Speaker 3: you know, you don't get them alone very much. You know,
- 24:34Speaker 3: why don't they ever have a Super Bowl here? I know,
- 24:37Speaker 3: I know he would answer it because you got it.
- 24:39Speaker 3: You know, you got to meet the standards of having
- 24:40Speaker 3: enough rooms, you know, super for the for everybody.
- 24:44Speaker 1: So right, So I heard Jerry Jones asked by his
- 24:48Speaker 1: by Dallas Cowboys media if he's been disappointed that they
- 24:52Speaker 1: haven't had a Super Bowl in Dallas ever since the.
- 24:55Speaker 2: The ice storm.
- 24:57Speaker 3: I was there.
- 24:58Speaker 1: It was awful, It was awful, and he said that
- 25:01Speaker 1: the league, Look, the league's the league really values the
- 25:06Speaker 1: entertainment aspect of this. And he went on to point
- 25:09Speaker 1: out how much entertainment there is in Las Vegas, how
- 25:11Speaker 1: much entertainment there is in New Orleans, how much entertainment
- 25:15Speaker 1: you can find in San Francisco. And there's no doubt
- 25:19Speaker 1: Philadelphia as a world class city, and there's entertainment, But
- 25:23Speaker 1: people don't come to Philly to party the way they
- 25:26Speaker 1: go to Miami or New Orleans or Vegas. It's a
- 25:30Speaker 1: little bit different in my opinion. And I just don't
- 25:33Speaker 1: think it's gonna be a great Super Bowl city that
- 25:37Speaker 1: will get you wavy. You might get one for building
- 25:40Speaker 1: the stadium, but I doubt you would ever get it again.
- 25:42Speaker 1: And to me, that's not worth taking away such a
- 25:45Speaker 1: great home field environment, having an open air stadium, having
- 25:50Speaker 1: games like you had against the Rams, and.
- 25:52Speaker 2: It's not it's just not worth it.
- 25:53Speaker 1: And I just don't I just don't think Philly will
- 25:56Speaker 1: meet the demands that the celebrities in the big way.
- 26:00Speaker 1: He had for wanting to party in February in winter here.
- 26:05Speaker 3: That's part of it, you know. And the other thing
- 26:08Speaker 3: is with an open air stadium. For those of you listening,
- 26:12Speaker 3: we've been to the link. There's nothing like it. I mean,
- 26:17Speaker 3: you could feel it even I mean, even if you're
- 26:21Speaker 3: no matter how high up you're sitting third level, you
- 26:25Speaker 3: still feel it. It's just nothing. The link is one
- 26:27Speaker 3: of the best home field advantages in the national football
- 26:29Speaker 3: and there's no question about it.
- 26:30Speaker 2: Absolutely all right.
- 26:32Speaker 1: So that that was just my feeling on it, and
- 26:34Speaker 1: we'll see, I don't He didn't really get into whether
- 26:38Speaker 1: or not. He kind of kept it to just the
- 26:40Speaker 1: planning of it. The fact that they've refurbished the stadium.
- 26:43Speaker 1: He didn't commit to definitely say they wanted a stadium.
- 26:46Speaker 1: So I know the big question is do you a
- 26:48Speaker 1: want a Super Bowl and b would you put a
- 26:50Speaker 1: dome on it?
- 26:51Speaker 2: And see would then.
- 26:52Speaker 1: You build a multi purpose facility that might host Final
- 26:56Speaker 1: fours and other events and things like that.
- 26:58Speaker 2: He never got to that part in case anybody was wondering, Uh, And.
- 27:02Speaker 3: What I was gonna say is you can have what
- 27:07Speaker 3: you're gonna say there. But he did dress the Hurts question.
- 27:10Speaker 3: You know, it's funny because we've known for years that
- 27:13Speaker 3: he's he's close to Hurts, but he gets he was
- 27:15Speaker 3: close to Fletcher Cox. He's been close to a lot
- 27:16Speaker 3: of players. Yes, he's very player friendly and you know,
- 27:22Speaker 3: for someone he he's not going to criticize him. You could,
- 27:25Speaker 3: you know, for folks who don't like Hurts, or who
- 27:27Speaker 3: watch tape or you know kind of what's happened with
- 27:30Speaker 3: Hurts the last few years. He's not gonna criticize him.
- 27:34Speaker 3: He is not. You know, it's.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Hurt.
- 27:38Speaker 3: I mean, and Syrianna said, every opportunity to to not
- 27:44Speaker 3: take shots but say hey this he needs to be better.
- 27:46Speaker 3: He's not gonna do that. Right, he could do it privately,
- 27:50Speaker 3: but he's not gonna do that publicly. It's not gonna happen.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Hey, if you're like me, you're desensitized to the dozens
- 27:55Speaker 1: of notifications on your phone every day. But if that
- 27:58Speaker 1: latest ping is from your secure camera, ignoring it could

- 30:11Speaker 2: All right, So that leads us to our second topic.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts, The ESPN story came out you and I
- 30:17Speaker 1: didn't want to do a whole deep dive into it
- 30:19Speaker 1: because to be honest with you, So when the story
- 30:25Speaker 1: came out a long time inside the Birds, listener reached
- 30:29Speaker 1: out to me and this person had said, Hey, I
- 30:33Speaker 1: read the story from Tim McManus and Jeremy Fowler was
- 30:36Speaker 1: very well written. It was a good story, and the
- 30:39Speaker 1: person said that they felt that they already knew a
- 30:43Speaker 1: lot of this because of being an Inside the Birds listener,
- 30:47Speaker 1: So that is not me or Adam, to be clear,
- 30:50Speaker 1: taking away from the great journalism done by Jeremy Fowler
- 30:54Speaker 1: and Tim McManus. It was a wonderfully written story. But
- 30:58Speaker 1: I do feel like we have discussed at length both
- 31:02Speaker 1: the positives and the negatives that you saw in the story,
- 31:05Speaker 1: and Adam, that's to me, I really appreciated the journalistic
- 31:10Speaker 1: element of it because that story was not a hit piece.
- 31:13Speaker 1: I don't care what anybody says if you understand what
- 31:16Speaker 1: a hit piece is and compare it to that, it's
- 31:18Speaker 1: not because it presented both sides. It gave each side
- 31:23Speaker 1: opportunities to speak on how they viewed this situation, and
- 31:27Speaker 1: very what I find very rare, especially lately, is if
- 31:29Speaker 1: you go back to the lead to lead, the story
- 31:31Speaker 1: is about the fourth down call in the in the
- 31:33Speaker 1: playoff game against Sarah converts right for verts, and even
- 31:37Speaker 1: in the story, it's the authors basically say, hey, we
- 31:42Speaker 1: don't exactly know, but this is what one side says,
- 31:45Speaker 1: this is what that size. I feel sometimes authors of
- 31:47Speaker 1: stories too often just try to put the one side
- 31:50Speaker 1: in and because they don't want to look like they
- 31:52Speaker 1: don't know.
- 31:53Speaker 2: But that story absolutely.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Left it opened up interpretation and let the reader decide
- 31:59Speaker 1: for himself, herself or whatever. And I just appreciated about
- 32:02Speaker 1: the whole story was written with very good balance. That's
- 32:05Speaker 1: how I would want to start my saying, yeah, I
- 32:07Speaker 1: thought it was.
- 32:07Speaker 3: Very well balanced because I you and I have done
- 32:11Speaker 3: pieces on over a career, when especially myself very early
- 32:15Speaker 3: on when I was running a lot when just like
- 32:18Speaker 3: Jeremy and I know both guys. I work with Tim
- 32:21Speaker 3: very closely. When I was at ESPN, I know Jeremy
- 32:22Speaker 3: very well. When I would do it's not an investigated piece,
- 32:28Speaker 3: but when I do at a background piece because when
- 32:29Speaker 3: I want to know what happened. I remember when I
- 32:32Speaker 3: worked for Scott dot Com, I did. I did so
- 32:34Speaker 3: much Cleveland Brown stuff. Oh my god, I just I
- 32:38Speaker 3: don't know why, what's that?
- 32:41Speaker 2: You poor poor soul?
- 32:42Speaker 3: I know, but I had a lot of really good
- 32:44Speaker 3: sourcing back then. And I it's just funny because Phil
- 32:47Speaker 3: and I used to work to work together. He's a friend,
- 32:49Speaker 3: Phil Savage, but I didn't know Phil then and I
- 32:52Speaker 3: did sort of an expose on the problems that we're having.
- 32:56Speaker 3: It was the Brandy Lerner was the owner, then Phil
- 32:59Speaker 3: and but you know the futility they've had for decades.
- 33:02Speaker 3: But anyway, I wanted to know why they couldn't get
- 33:06Speaker 3: out of their own way. I wanted to get so
- 33:08Speaker 3: many different people like Tim and Jeremy. Did you notice
- 33:11Speaker 3: they put team source, team source, team source, So it's
- 33:13Speaker 3: either player, a coach or phone else executive okay, and
- 33:18Speaker 3: by the way.
- 33:19Speaker 2: Or many right right?
- 33:21Speaker 3: They had and in and out of it. Also sources
- 33:24Speaker 3: around the league, who know. But what I try to
- 33:26Speaker 3: explain to people, They're not like calling me knowing that
- 33:29Speaker 3: I'm doing a piece. I'm asking them, hey, what could
- 33:33Speaker 3: you tell me about this? Because I think I see
- 33:36Speaker 3: looking at social media special especially with the ESPN piece,
- 33:40Speaker 3: the hurt supporters that refused to listen to anything. They
- 33:45Speaker 3: not only did they either think it was a hit piece,
- 33:47Speaker 3: they think the sources had something out to get Hurts. No,
- 33:52Speaker 3: that's not the way it works. No. I just I
- 33:57Speaker 3: shake my head and I you know, I you know,
- 33:59Speaker 3: I'm like you, I just put information. I don't really
- 34:01Speaker 3: answer stuff.
- 34:03Speaker 2: You do it here.
- 34:04Speaker 1: I believe I believe Jeremy had went on a show
- 34:06Speaker 1: after and was had said something to the effect of
- 34:10Speaker 1: what we were trying to write was a story about
- 34:12Speaker 1: why this offense that has all this money poured into
- 34:16Speaker 1: it underperformed. It was not supposed to be about Jalen Hurts.
- 34:20Speaker 1: Although I say, if you're going to write a story
- 34:22Speaker 1: about an offense underperforming and you don't think your your
- 34:25Speaker 1: quotes are going to be about the quarterback, I mean,
- 34:27Speaker 1: what offense is not basically centered around, right, right, But
- 34:33Speaker 1: either way, the intent was just to write about and
- 34:35Speaker 1: then that's what it became and helped.
- 34:38Speaker 3: Right, So to move this along, you know, I'm looking
- 34:40Speaker 3: at the comments, I'm like, no, that's not what they
- 34:42Speaker 3: were trying to do that you just said it. They're
- 34:44Speaker 3: trying to figure out the highest paid offense to the
- 34:47Speaker 3: National Football League. Okay, okay, you told about eleven. Why
- 34:52Speaker 3: the hell a they utter achieving? Right, that's what you're
- 34:55Speaker 3: trying to find out. And as you said, well you
- 34:57Speaker 3: got to talk about the quarterback.
- 34:58Speaker 4: For christsake, A bit like yeah, I just don't understand
- 35:04Speaker 4: some of the Hurts truthers who have come to the
- 35:07Speaker 4: they're actually it's been interesting.
- 35:09Speaker 3: If you've checked social media last year and a half,
- 35:11Speaker 3: some of the people who never listened to any criticism
- 35:12Speaker 3: about Hurts. They get it now he's got certain limitations.
- 35:15Speaker 3: There's a lot of quarterbacks do yeah. I mean, Josh
- 35:17Speaker 3: Allen has some limitations. But they're willing to listen to
- 35:20Speaker 3: this stuff like they understand it. But I agree sometimes
- 35:23Speaker 3: I think it's over the lines that some of the
- 35:25Speaker 3: criticism is ridiculous.
- 35:27Speaker 2: I agree with that too.
- 35:28Speaker 3: It's got to be tape study based and it's got
- 35:32Speaker 3: to be people. You got to find out there was
- 35:36Speaker 3: one comment where Hrt is stubborn or Hurts is tough
- 35:40Speaker 3: to coach? Would you have to talk how many times
- 35:41Speaker 3: have we talked about that for three four years? Okay,
- 35:44Speaker 3: we've known that there's a reason why there's there's a
- 35:49Speaker 3: certain inconsistency with hers. When you see it look good,
- 35:51Speaker 3: you go, where the hell's this bit? And then you
- 35:53Speaker 3: he reverts back. You know, I asked to I'm just
- 35:57Speaker 3: gonna go, you know, I'm gonna bring something up here
- 35:59Speaker 3: which I'm thinking of about looking into it. You know,
- 36:02Speaker 3: I asked the coach, I said, what do you know
- 36:04Speaker 3: as a coach? Who I know? He knows the coaches
- 36:06Speaker 3: Eagles coaches. A longtime coach offensive coach still in the league,
- 36:11Speaker 3: done pretty well for himself, said, hey, do you what
- 36:14Speaker 3: do you know about what happened in Philly? You know
- 36:16Speaker 3: Scott Scott Leffler is the quarterbacks coach and Batulo you know,
- 36:21Speaker 3: I know he's pretty highly regarded. What do you know
- 36:23Speaker 3: he goes, Well, here's what I know about Kevin and
- 36:25Speaker 3: his reputation. Good guy, very smart, very well organized. He goes.
- 36:29Speaker 3: You know that you know that he was sort of
- 36:31Speaker 3: you know, you know he and Nick are very close.
- 36:34Speaker 3: You know, he was the chief of staff. I go, yeah,
- 36:37Speaker 3: I think we've probably talked about that before. But he
- 36:39Speaker 3: might be too nice, I said, can you explain that
- 36:41Speaker 3: he goes? If you're with a dominant personality like Hertz,
- 36:46Speaker 3: he may be stoke and all that, but you don't understand,
- 36:48Speaker 3: like you have to know, he's very strong willed. And
- 36:51Speaker 3: this guy said that, And I don't know where he
- 36:53Speaker 3: got this. I'm assuming that it's from what I didn't
- 36:55Speaker 3: ask him. I just he just give me the stuff.
- 36:58Speaker 3: I'm sure he got it from the coaches over the
- 37:00Speaker 3: years that he could be not trusting. Now is it
- 37:03Speaker 3: because of what happened at Alabama getting benched and having
- 37:07Speaker 3: to transfer. I don't know. I don't know, but he
- 37:11Speaker 3: said he's kind of fearful, not trustful of some people,
- 37:15Speaker 3: and he's he wants to do things his way. Sometimes
- 37:18Speaker 3: he's like, Okay, this is kind of what I've heard
- 37:19Speaker 3: and what I know is and it's interesting. What I've
- 37:22Speaker 3: learned about this situation is coaches always know from other teams.
- 37:27Speaker 2: Right.
- 37:28Speaker 3: They may not know the first year, when the guys
- 37:29Speaker 3: has started for seven or eight years, or six or
- 37:31Speaker 3: seven or eight years, they're going to find out because they coaches.
- 37:34Speaker 2: No coaches, right.
- 37:35Speaker 3: We don't talk about this a lot, but it's remarkable
- 37:37Speaker 3: to me. And you know this because you don't have
- 37:38Speaker 3: exchange notes for nine years. It's incredible how much they know,
- 37:42Speaker 3: never working with each.
- 37:43Speaker 2: Other along the way somewhere I mean, or worked with
- 37:45Speaker 2: their best some of them.
- 37:46Speaker 3: Right right, right, But I don't know who the guy knows.
- 37:49Speaker 3: But he had some great detail. And you know, he
- 37:52Speaker 3: brought up you know, most veteran quarterbacks are tough to coach,
- 37:55Speaker 3: and they're especially when they get paid. I go, yeah,
- 37:57Speaker 3: I've said that Montell's is sitting our Patreon chats, yep.
- 38:01Speaker 3: But he did bring this up. He goes it's sometime
- 38:06Speaker 3: that they're going to run out of excuse for her
- 38:08Speaker 3: and stuff trying to protect him. I'm like, wh who
- 38:10Speaker 3: are you talking about? He goes, well, the guy's up
- 38:13Speaker 3: top because they paid him. I'm like, I he didn't
- 38:16Speaker 3: have any detail. He doesn't know you and I might know.
- 38:19Speaker 3: But yeah, like like Nick does not not that Nick
- 38:23Speaker 3: should be calling out Jalen. He should do it. If
- 38:26Speaker 3: he's got a problem with him. He wanted to play better,
- 38:29Speaker 3: go after him in private, you know, in any room
- 38:32Speaker 3: in the in the classroom environment. But you know, this
- 38:36Speaker 3: guy brought up to me that at some point it's
- 38:38Speaker 3: got to be about the quarterback playing sistant football. Like, yeah,
- 38:41Speaker 3: it's your your I said to this coach, I said,
- 38:43Speaker 3: you're kind of mirroring seventy five percent of the stuff
- 38:46Speaker 3: I've known. I've either said and then you've give me
- 38:48Speaker 3: some context. As I'm not a coach, I said, well,
- 38:51Speaker 3: how do you know how they've tried to coach them?
- 38:54Speaker 3: He goes any any number of ways he didn't know.
- 38:56Speaker 3: I don't. Again, I didn't ask him. I don't ask
- 39:00Speaker 3: they're going to volunteer it or if I sounds like
- 39:02Speaker 3: I know who the coach who he's talking about is
- 39:05Speaker 3: at this guy. But he did say that, he said,
- 39:07Speaker 3: Kevin's really smart. He goes, I've been around him socially.
- 39:11Speaker 3: I just know that people really respect him. You heard
- 39:14Speaker 3: what was it, half leays? Was it half way? You
- 39:17Speaker 3: spoke very high level of the head coach of Miami. Yeah,
- 39:23Speaker 3: of Manyon, of Kevin No, Kevin.
- 39:25Speaker 1: Kevin Batulo. Well, yeah, that was a while ago at
- 39:27Speaker 1: the at the owner's meetings. He was asking about Manion
- 39:30Speaker 1: and he really right, right, right.
- 39:31Speaker 3: Right right. Someone went on records spook, how smart that
- 39:36Speaker 3: Kevin is. But and I said, that's great. But the
- 39:40Speaker 3: thing is you've got to be able to reach your players.
- 39:43Speaker 3: And as we move this forward here this is in
- 39:46Speaker 3: the ESPN piece. Our information is similar, folks, but it's
- 39:49Speaker 3: a little different because we've been working. We've been gathering
- 39:52Speaker 3: information on the background of why this thing has been
- 39:54Speaker 3: a disaster for three years, and it's the inability to
- 39:57Speaker 3: the offensive coordinator to get on the same page. It's
- 40:02Speaker 3: Hurts is a very mercurial personality, which means different, odd, quiet,
- 40:09Speaker 3: but stubborn A. J. Brown and Jalen in their issues.
- 40:15Speaker 3: You know, people have written about have talked about it.
- 40:18Speaker 3: It's putting that all aside to move this forward. Where
- 40:23Speaker 3: I totally believe the the ESPN piece hit it on
- 40:26Speaker 3: the nail was they want the Eagles want the offense
- 40:31Speaker 3: to evolve. Okay, they wanted to be forward thinking. Yes,
- 40:35Speaker 3: Greg's Cosell said it last season one of the shows,
- 40:38Speaker 3: and I got quoted everywhere. A league source sues in
- 40:43Speaker 3: pro personnel called it a high school offense and his
- 40:47Speaker 3: and uh, this part, I'm gonna it is going to
- 40:48Speaker 3: be new. The guy said to me, it's because this
- 40:51Speaker 3: is this is what you they have to run to
- 40:53Speaker 3: get Hurts going. That's an opinion based on tapes that
- 40:56Speaker 3: he got. He's donet work for the Eagles. He never
- 40:58Speaker 3: worked there before either. Yeah, that's and that's the ESPN piece.
- 41:03Speaker 3: That's what Tim and Jeremy wanted to find out, right,
- 41:06Speaker 3: why are their issues? And then they talked, you know,
- 41:09Speaker 3: they did talk about what this offense is going to
- 41:11Speaker 3: look like with play action A true Shadahan McVeigh is
- 41:16Speaker 3: timing play action quarterback under center. That's it, right, and
- 41:22Speaker 3: that's I thought they did it. Usually when I see
- 41:25Speaker 3: these pieces, I there's stuff I could pick apart. I
- 41:28Speaker 3: couldn't pick anything apart of this because you and I
- 41:30Speaker 3: know too much. So it's like this is a really
- 41:32Speaker 3: fair piece.
- 41:33Speaker 1: Yes, it was fair, and look right, look look Jillen
- 41:36Speaker 1: Hurts kind of already let you in on who he is,
- 41:39Speaker 1: by the way. Uh He's stood in front of a
- 41:42Speaker 1: microphone after a game one day and said, the offense
- 41:45Speaker 1: is going to look the way I want it to look. Okay,
- 41:48Speaker 1: you can interpret that any way you want. I didn't
- 41:51Speaker 1: have a huge issue with it because when you win
- 41:54Speaker 1: that way and you do what he's done, and you
- 41:56Speaker 1: are a starting.
- 41:57Speaker 2: Quarterback paid in that echelon, it should you should.
- 42:00Speaker 1: Have a lot of autonomy on it and fingerprints on it. However,
- 42:03Speaker 1: you should also be judged on it. And we're not
- 42:06Speaker 1: talking about the running game here. We're always talking about
- 42:08Speaker 1: the pass offense. And to your point, it's looked like
- 42:11Speaker 1: a high school offense, and from watching it, from doing
- 42:14Speaker 1: tape breakdown, from talking to people, it's looked that way.
- 42:18Speaker 1: As you just brought up. A person said, because you
- 42:20Speaker 1: know it's catered to Jalen Hurts, Well, his strength is
- 42:24Speaker 1: throwing that deep ball down the left sideline and it's
- 42:27Speaker 1: not thrown between the numbers, and so that's part of
- 42:30Speaker 1: why the offense has looked the way it has looked
- 42:33Speaker 1: for quite why different coordinators and the story mentioned this
- 42:36Speaker 1: as well, and we've talked about this acknowledge of the
- 42:38Speaker 1: year it happened. Even Kellen Moore basically decided he was
- 42:42Speaker 1: going to run the Eagles offense after six weeks and
- 42:44Speaker 1: not the offense he wanted to run. So to encapsulate
- 42:48Speaker 1: it all and kind of put a bow on it,
- 42:49Speaker 1: move it forward. This is an important year, as you said,
- 42:52Speaker 1: because Seawan Manion's offense, in the true essence of it,
- 42:56Speaker 1: if it's going to be this West Coast McVeigh, Shanahan
- 42:59Speaker 1: Lafleur type offense, it's supposed to have the answers built in.
- 43:04Speaker 1: The quarterback is not going to in these offenses typically
- 43:07Speaker 1: don't have to change plays and do a whole lot
- 43:11Speaker 1: of checking and audibling because the answers.
- 43:14Speaker 2: Are supposed to already be there.
- 43:15Speaker 1: You're supposed to have a nice marriage between your running
- 43:18Speaker 1: game and your play action pass. There will be under
- 43:21Speaker 1: center and there will be things asked of Jalen that
- 43:25Speaker 1: we've talked about and that the story pointed out that
- 43:27Speaker 1: he has in the past been reluctant to do, but
- 43:30Speaker 1: we'd never said he's never done. He obviously did it
- 43:32Speaker 1: last year at times. Now how much they wanted to
- 43:35Speaker 1: do it more versus how much guys willing to do
- 43:38Speaker 1: that's a question to be answered. But we'll find out
- 43:41Speaker 1: because that is the offense they are about to run.
- 43:44Speaker 1: Make no mistake, it's not incorporating those concepts. Those are
- 43:49Speaker 1: the offensive concepts that Manion's gonna expected to bring it here.
- 43:53Speaker 1: And we'll find out about this ability to connect or
- 43:57Speaker 1: not between the coordinator and the quarterback.
- 43:59Speaker 3: All right, two things I want to There's one other
- 44:01Speaker 3: thing I wanted to get into with you, which I'll
- 44:03Speaker 3: just turn the because I'm interested to see what what
- 44:05Speaker 3: you recall something in your past that we covered because
- 44:09Speaker 3: this whole discussion made me think about it. But uh,
- 44:14Speaker 3: I asked someone from another team, I said, what do
- 44:17Speaker 3: you know about Sean Mannon? It was everything I've heard
- 44:20Speaker 3: is great. But the guy brought this up. He goes,
- 44:23Speaker 3: you don't know until he's got to get in front
- 44:25Speaker 3: of the quarterback. Sure, I said, can you explain that
- 44:28Speaker 3: he was? He's got to present what he wants to do,
- 44:29Speaker 3: and the guy's got to buy in. I'm like, how
- 44:31Speaker 3: does that work? Like what, like, when do you do it?
- 44:33Speaker 3: He goes, he'll do it when they're allowed to talk
- 44:34Speaker 3: to him one on one at OTAs and you're you present.
- 44:39Speaker 3: This is what it's going to look like. They I
- 44:41Speaker 3: don't know if Hurt says the playbook already. I'm not
- 44:43Speaker 3: sure what because we know they're extremely limited to you
- 44:46Speaker 3: really not, You're very limited to what you could say
- 44:49Speaker 3: to the you're not allowed to coach right now. But
- 44:51Speaker 3: as soon he goes, he's gonna get in front of him,
- 44:54Speaker 3: he's gonna present it, and he's got to speak this
- 44:57Speaker 3: certain way like he's very confident. And he and I go, wow,
- 45:00Speaker 3: that's interesting because he's a first year coordinator. Is only
- 45:02Speaker 3: this is only second year of coaching, correct.
- 45:04Speaker 2: The second only second year coaching.
- 45:07Speaker 3: I was like, wow, the way you the guy put
- 45:09Speaker 3: it to him.
- 45:09Speaker 2: I was like, Jesus, oh, listen, this this thing's not
- 45:13Speaker 2: a given. We know that.
- 45:15Speaker 3: But but but I'm gonna defend Hurts here. And we
- 45:18Speaker 3: talked about we learned a lot about Hurts last season.
- 45:21Speaker 3: This nonsense that he can't throw over the middle, it's
- 45:23Speaker 3: just not proven. The tape shows it. He doesn't do
- 45:25Speaker 3: it enough. It's true, he's risk averse. That's the tape again,
- 45:28Speaker 3: it's tape study based. It's not as Greg's. It's not opinion.
- 45:31Speaker 3: It's a fact. Right, But we and I know people
- 45:34Speaker 3: killed her for the four toneovers against the Chargers. He
- 45:38Speaker 3: made the best throw of his life on that throw
- 45:40Speaker 3: of pass, that that angry pass over the middle of
- 45:42Speaker 3: the smith where we're like, wow, it got lost in
- 45:46Speaker 3: everything because they turned it. They hurts it two turnovers
- 45:49Speaker 3: in one play. But he made some throws last season
- 45:52Speaker 3: in the Minnesota game where you go, where's this coming from? Like,
- 45:55Speaker 3: why can't we see this more? John d Flippo this.
- 45:58Speaker 3: I asked John this years ago, many times over his
- 46:02Speaker 3: career with the quarterbacks he coached, when they were struggling.
- 46:05Speaker 3: I said, what, why can't he play better? He goes,
- 46:07Speaker 3: this is why, this is. This is our process. We
- 46:10Speaker 3: rep it, We watch the tape and we go over it.
- 46:14Speaker 3: I can't I can't yell at it at him on
- 46:17Speaker 3: the sides. Why did you make that throw? You go
- 46:20Speaker 3: over it and you rep it, and that's all you
- 46:22Speaker 3: can do. At some point, this move this along and
- 46:26Speaker 3: I want to I want to get the other thing quickly.
- 46:28Speaker 3: The guy could either could do it or he can't.
- 46:30Speaker 3: And I'm hot. I was telling our Patreon folks Wednesday,
- 46:33Speaker 3: I might be in the minority of this. I for
- 46:35Speaker 3: some reason, I think Hurts is going to get this
- 46:36Speaker 3: offense because it cannot work if you don't throw it quickly.
- 46:41Speaker 3: It literally cannot work. This is not Jalen wanting to
- 46:45Speaker 3: throw the deep ball a lot. Yes, the deep bow
- 46:48Speaker 3: will be part of any NFL offense, and especially with him,
- 46:51Speaker 3: but that's going to be minor compared to what this
- 46:53Speaker 3: thing's going to look like inside the Numbers, folks. It's
- 46:56Speaker 3: not gonna be outside of the Numbers offense anymore. It's
- 46:58Speaker 3: not And you know, no, Yeah, the.
- 47:03Speaker 1: Chargers game that overtimes throwing advant that what I was
- 47:06Speaker 1: talking about.
- 47:07Speaker 3: Yeah, that was ridiculous. Yeah, so let me ask you
- 47:12Speaker 3: a question that was a reporter. Yeah, the Dream Team year.
- 47:17Speaker 1: Okay, somebody just asked me about this recently.
- 47:20Speaker 3: But because I wondered how that was one of the
- 47:23Speaker 3: biggest cluster f's I've ever seen. This is the nom
- 47:26Speaker 3: the year. Yea, this is coming out of lockout, didn't
- 47:30Speaker 3: have a lot of time. It was just bad yeah,
- 47:35Speaker 3: and then finding out the implosion of the team. Who
- 47:38Speaker 3: is the d tackle that really really spoke well, like
- 47:41Speaker 3: very but very critical.
- 47:44Speaker 2: I believe you're talking about Chris Jenkins.
- 47:46Speaker 3: No, wasn't.
- 47:47Speaker 2: It wasn't christ Jenkins.
- 47:49Speaker 3: He came from Washington. This guy great dude, This guy
- 47:52Speaker 3: was very outspoken. He told the truth on the entitlement
- 47:55Speaker 3: of the players. It was just a bad room. I'll
- 48:00Speaker 3: look it up. But how did you as a reporter
- 48:02Speaker 3: once it imploded?
- 48:03Speaker 2: No, I'm sorry, I meant Cullen Jenkins, not Colin Jenkins. Yes,
- 48:05Speaker 2: yes you got it. Yes they're related.
- 48:07Speaker 3: But I okay, what did you How did you? Like,
- 48:12Speaker 3: you had to get information, you had to find out
- 48:13Speaker 3: what that was going on?
- 48:14Speaker 2: Right, Yes?
- 48:16Speaker 3: What how did you go about it?
- 48:19Speaker 1: And so this is what year to Tom about five
- 48:23Speaker 1: years so I'm still a little bit learning at that point,
- 48:25Speaker 1: like I'm not a seasoned guy yet trying to figure
- 48:28Speaker 1: things out. But I found out more things, unfortunately after
- 48:33Speaker 1: the year.
- 48:33Speaker 2: Than while it was going.
- 48:35Speaker 1: When you're in the middle of the grind during the season,
- 48:37Speaker 1: it's it's hard, plus you don't have as many access
- 48:39Speaker 1: to people. But I found out that people who on
- 48:44Speaker 1: the surface looked like good character, good leaders. You know,
- 48:48Speaker 1: they present themselves in front of the media as good
- 48:51Speaker 1: teammates and things.
- 48:51Speaker 2: I found out afterward we're not, you know, And I
- 48:54Speaker 2: was surprised. Some of it surprised me.
- 48:56Speaker 1: There's only so much access, even when you're around them
- 48:58Speaker 1: all day long. Only some much behind the scenes access
- 49:02Speaker 1: you can have, and so many sources you can have
- 49:04Speaker 1: during the grind of the regular season. So yeah, I
- 49:07Speaker 1: found out that the chemistry was was really bad, and
- 49:10Speaker 1: that there were too many non adults in too many
- 49:12Speaker 1: rooms of guys who should have been adults.
- 49:16Speaker 3: So when you asked those questions, did you feel like
- 49:20Speaker 3: they were just trying to bury the guy that you
- 49:21Speaker 3: asked for the truth and you got it.
- 49:23Speaker 1: Yeah, No, just just because sometimes I wasn't fishing per
- 49:28Speaker 1: se like you. Like we talked about. When you go
- 49:30Speaker 1: to these off season events, you start talking to some people.
- 49:32Speaker 1: Some people may have already left the team at that point.
- 49:36Speaker 2: And yeah, I remember catching up with a few people
- 49:38Speaker 2: at the Senior Bowl and just saying, like.
- 49:41Speaker 3: Sean Desai stuff. I mean, we weren't looking for anything
- 49:43Speaker 3: on Shorna Si. It just were coming up to us,
- 49:46Speaker 3: tapping us on the Shore. I'll never forget that. Like
- 49:49Speaker 3: you were like you were kind of like blown away,
- 49:52Speaker 3: like what is got what happened? Like you knew there
- 49:54Speaker 3: was bad, but you had no idea. Yeah, like just
- 49:57Speaker 3: how it wasn't working. One guy said he wouldn't go
- 49:59Speaker 3: back there. I was on the stat like it was like.
- 50:01Speaker 2: Wow, yeah, yeah, yeah. And that's how that's how it
- 50:04Speaker 2: came about.
- 50:05Speaker 3: S want the truth out that that's I think what
- 50:08Speaker 3: happens is fans fall into this. You can't you can't
- 50:11Speaker 3: criticize your our player, he's our guy, and blame everyone else.
- 50:16Speaker 3: Blame the coach, Blame the head coach, Blame the quarterback, coach,
- 50:20Speaker 3: blame the coordinator, no matter what position is, you could
- 50:22Speaker 3: put whatever it is. Why does guy regress? It's company,
- 50:25Speaker 3: this guy's fault. It can't be our guy's fault. Right
- 50:27Speaker 3: at some point, folks, it's got to be off of football.
- 50:30Speaker 3: Why does this keep happening?
- 50:31Speaker 2: Right? Right?
- 50:32Speaker 1: I think that this our report in the ESPN story,
- 50:36Speaker 1: whatever you want to call it, about the whole discussion
- 50:40Speaker 1: or discourse on the offense and Jalen Hurts and the coaches,
- 50:43Speaker 1: to me, is the perfect exemplification of the phrase that
- 50:48Speaker 1: Greg likes to say, which is reasonable. People can disagree
- 50:53Speaker 1: you and I like to point out the phrase two
- 50:55Speaker 1: things that seemingly conflict can be true, and it just
- 50:59Speaker 1: means that it's not black and white like you know, unfortunately,
- 51:02Speaker 1: if you go on social media, everything's black and white.
- 51:04Speaker 1: Kevin Bittulo is not is the worst, Jalen Hurts is
- 51:07Speaker 1: untouchable or Jalen Hurts stinks, and Kevin Bittullo was undermined,
- 51:12Speaker 1: like it just gets way too extreme when you have
- 51:15Speaker 1: a breakdown the way the egals have. It's never gonna
- 51:17Speaker 1: be about just one thing. And I thought that story
- 51:21Speaker 1: did a nice job of presenting that. Sure Hurts was
- 51:24Speaker 1: the epicenter of it, and there was some blowback against
- 51:26Speaker 1: him because it's the quarterback of an offense that didn't
- 51:29Speaker 1: perform to its standards, But there was plenty in that
- 51:32Speaker 1: story that will let you know and what we've talked
- 51:34Speaker 1: about that two things can be true.
- 51:36Speaker 2: Do I think is Jalen Hurts stubborn?
- 51:38Speaker 3: Yes?
- 51:39Speaker 2: Is he uncoachable? Somebody used that word on social media.
- 51:42Speaker 2: This is uncoachable? No, not uncoachable.
- 51:45Speaker 1: If he was uncoachable, Adam, he wouldn't have done some
- 51:48Speaker 1: good things from under center last year and made some
- 51:51Speaker 1: nice throws. So stubborn and uncoachable, hard to coach, hard
- 51:56Speaker 1: hard coach, absolutely true.
- 51:57Speaker 2: It doesn't mean uncoachable though.
- 51:59Speaker 3: No, I I yeah, I don't. I don't know who
- 52:02Speaker 3: that source was they spoke to. Was that A did
- 52:04Speaker 3: it say team source on there?
- 52:05Speaker 2: I don't even remember if that word specifically was in
- 52:07Speaker 2: the story.
- 52:08Speaker 3: I just.
- 52:10Speaker 1: I think it was well then, and again, that's what
- 52:13Speaker 1: that's one sources viewpoint of it. I've heard of players
- 52:17Speaker 1: You and I have both heard of players who you
- 52:19Speaker 1: would absolutely say were unco like, would not listen to anybody,
- 52:24Speaker 1: would not make any adjustment.
- 52:26Speaker 2: To their game, right like.
- 52:27Speaker 1: So so you know that's why I'm careful with wording.
- 52:31Speaker 1: But two things can be true at the same time.
- 52:33Speaker 3: That's your line. Now you've loved that, I'm going to
- 52:35Speaker 3: say that I like that. Well on Twitter or x
- 52:40Speaker 3: you're not allowed to have there's no context allowed. You
- 52:42Speaker 3: cannot have context to see that. As you said, black one,
- 52:44Speaker 3: it's this or that. There's no in between, there's no explanation.
- 52:48Speaker 3: It's that's why we do audio and video because we
- 52:51Speaker 3: could actually explain it. And it's uh it's interesting. This
- 52:55Speaker 3: is a big year for Hurts though. Yeah, it's sure absolutely.
- 52:58Speaker 3: I mean, if he wants a new deal twenty seven,
- 53:01Speaker 3: he's got to play lights out. I'm so fascinated and
- 53:04Speaker 3: I'm just really interested to see how this is gonna work. Yeah,
- 53:07Speaker 3: even if they trade Brown, who replaces him? And this
- 53:13Speaker 3: what this offense is gonna look like a true West
- 53:15Speaker 3: Coast offense because Andy's was Andy's and Dougs were their
- 53:20Speaker 3: version of it. Mm hmm, it's not there's a there's
- 53:25Speaker 3: this Mike Shanahan, Mike hol Grins. I'm sorry, then you've
- 53:28Speaker 3: got the adjunct. Yes, home grid is is is home
- 53:32Speaker 3: Grind was Bill Walsh. But it gets bastardized, it gets changed. Yeah,
- 53:37Speaker 3: there's always an interpret like the Fangio Disciples. They don't
- 53:41Speaker 3: run it exactly like Vic does. It's very close, but
- 53:43Speaker 3: it's their version of it. So they're gonna tweak it, right,
- 53:46Speaker 3: you know that.
- 53:47Speaker 1: I don't think the home Grin and Andy West Coast
- 53:50Speaker 1: Tree ran the ball the way the Shanahan West Coast.
- 53:55Speaker 3: He's got to run openers. Yeah, he's Kyle's not shy
- 53:58Speaker 3: about it. It starts with a run. He's one of
- 54:00Speaker 3: the he's one, but his scheme, his ability to scheme
- 54:04Speaker 3: guys open. It's just the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen.
- 54:08Speaker 3: And botherway that got Juwan Jennings. As we speak right now,
- 54:10Speaker 3: it's still not sign. How is that?
- 54:12Speaker 1: I know, I know he'd be a perfect fit too,
- 54:14Speaker 1: but that is for another day. I think we've probably
- 54:18Speaker 1: talked as much as we probably can and given you
- 54:20Speaker 1: as much inside of our minds and our sourcing as
- 54:23Speaker 1: we possibly can on this situation, and it was good.
- 54:27Speaker 1: It was a good conversation and I'm glad we got
- 54:29Speaker 1: to it. That's gonna do it for this edition of
