- 0:14Hello and welcome to Arguing Ever After.
- 0:17I am Luke and this is my spooky wife, Amber.
- 0:20Hello, we are the Lord and Lady who lock horns.
- 0:24The count and Countess of contention.
- 0:26The Duke and Duchess of Disagreement.
- 0:28And the king and queen of quarrels.
- 0:30We have been together since Neve Campbell came back to star in
- 0:33the epic blockbuster Scream Two. We have argued about practically
- 0:38everything and yet we're still together and happy.
- 0:41In this entertainment only podcast, we will bicker about
- 0:43all things big and small and the audience gets the final say on
- 0:47who the winner is. We do not claim to be
- 0:50relationship experts by any means.
- 0:53We will debate lots of things, many of which are frequently
- 0:55submitted by our listeners. So if you have a topic you want
- 0:58us non professionals to battle over before you try it at home,
- 1:01please send it to us at arguingeverafter@gmail.com.
- 1:05Perhaps this completely unscientific method of letting
- 1:08the masses decide who is right can help settle your argument
- 1:12before you even have it. And so here we are at episode
- 1:18number. 13. The lucky or unlucky #13.
- 1:24Yeah, who knows, We'll see which one it is, if it's lucky or
- 1:28unlucky. I'll tell you when it is lucky,
- 1:30when it's a Baker's dozen. It is really, yeah.
- 1:34I don't know why people always hate the number 13 so much
- 1:37'cause I feel like, I mean, well, we have a 13 year old
- 1:40daughter, that's great. That's a good number.
- 1:43Yeah, and like you said, a Baker's dozen.
- 1:46Like who doesn't want something more?
- 1:48I love extra pastries. Right, right.
- 1:50So 13, I don't think for me, I don't think it's a bad number,
- 1:53but. Sometimes it's unlucky.
- 1:56Sometimes it is unlucky. As a matter of fact, it was
- 1:59unlucky for us not that long ago.
- 2:01Uh. Oh.
- 2:03We have already recorded this episode once.
- 2:05We did try real hard. Yeah, went through the whole
- 2:08thing and we had no sound so. A full episode.
- 2:14Yeah, yeah, it looked great. It did.
- 2:17It looked really good and I think we had a really fun time
- 2:20recording. You know what though, your
- 2:22argument was really hollow. No sound.
- 2:26Sorry for the joke people, I'm not good at them.
- 2:28No, he's not, but that's OK because this just means we have
- 2:33a second opportunity to discuss the same things we talked about
- 2:38before because our topic has not changed.
- 2:40That's true. But before we get too far into
- 2:44our topic, I wanted to say some pretty great things that has
- 2:48happened for us for #13. Drum roll please.
- 2:53Yeah, we have 3 new states. Three states.
- 2:57And we're gonna call them out cuz that's just what we do.
- 3:00Yep, the three states are New York.
- 3:03New York. Texas.
- 3:06Big, old Texas. And one that is not a state, but
- 3:10it it's listed as a state DC. It counts in spirit.
- 3:14Well I feel like they have their own license plate.
- 3:18They do, it says taxation without representation.
- 3:21Right. So I feel like that's probably a
- 3:22little unfair feeling if you for sure live there, but.
- 3:26And there's a whole reason for it, like it was written into the
- 3:29founding documents of our country that it shouldn't be a
- 3:33state. But I don't know the history
- 3:35there. My brother would know it better
- 3:38being that he lives nearby and works there at some point.
- 3:42I don't remember enough to actually have an intelligent
- 3:44delivery of the facts, but I remember there being some
- 3:48specific reason politically why it didn't have representation in
- 3:53Congress. Well, it's interesting because
- 3:55like we've been to DC and it's everything.
- 3:59So many things are free there because we're already paying for
- 4:02it in our federal taxes. I wonder if it has something to
- 4:04do with the fact that it is federally funded so much I.
- 4:06Don't I? I literally don't know.
- 4:09I don't neither but but maybe they do pay like DC taxes.
- 4:14You know what? We're losing people for sure
- 4:16talking about taxes and politics.
- 4:20Adulting Real. Fun.
- 4:22Let's get back to what we're really here.
- 4:24For so so those were the those were some states that we wanted
- 4:29to welcome to our show and hopefully welcome back.
- 4:32And then we also caught another country.
- 4:37This is awesome. It's.
- 4:39Quite amazing. It is bonkers we have multiple.
- 4:46Multiple. Listeners from Taiwan.
- 4:49Taiwan, that is crazy, and as tradition would have it, it's my
- 4:54job to attempt to say hello in the language, which this is
- 4:59going to sound wrong, but I'm going to give it a shot.
- 5:01OK, Hello. The formal hello in Taiwan is
- 5:05Lin Ho. Yes, that's it.
- 5:07There's multiple people. Yes, or it's a formal greeting
- 5:10to one person. Yeah, yeah.
- 5:12So I'm I'm into it. So.
- 5:14Yes, so Lynn Ho. Yeah, welcome and I hope you
- 5:17share it with other folks. Yeah, and happy bonkers.
- 5:21It's pretty fun. Yeah, yeah.
- 5:23So. Maybe they won't know about what
- 5:24we're doing over here this time of year, but maybe they will.
- 5:28Well. I don't know.
- 5:30We got to talk about a little bit.
- 5:32Spooky season is upon us, people.
- 5:35It is. It's my favorite season.
- 5:38It's for sure, as I've said before, you're the Queen of
- 5:41Halloween. Oh, and anyone watching that
- 5:43thinks they're the Queen of Halloween.
- 5:45I'm sure you'd be best of friends with Amber, but she is
- 5:48the Queen of Halloween. Let's join forces like message
- 5:51me and. Like wonder, Twin powers unite.
- 5:56I love talking with people who love Halloween and that who love
- 6:01Halloween decorating and all of that It's.
- 6:04It's I love that it never turns off for you.
- 6:07No. You'll be like in February
- 6:10looking at Halloween stuff. It's fun also, sometimes you can
- 6:14find some really good deals then, you know, I, I definitely
- 6:18enjoy some Halloween shopping, but it's, it's just fun.
- 6:22I, it's my favorite holiday of the year and I do think about it
- 6:27far before October. I love how the social media is
- 6:32talking about it in August and all of that, 'cause I'm, I'm
- 6:35ready. I'm ready for it.
- 6:37And I don't know, I feel like I'm not as ready as usual
- 6:41because I'm not mentally ready to start decorating the house.
- 6:44MMM. Well, that's fair, and it's not.
- 6:48I mean, the airing of this is gonna come out later, but it's
- 6:50not actually October yet. Right.
- 6:53I mean, we've done a little early decorating and we have a
- 6:56neighbor down in the street who's got their 12 foot skeleton
- 6:59up already. Big old skelly.
- 7:01Yeah. And so I feel like we should be
- 7:04supporting them. And I drove another house on the
- 7:07street already had some decorations in their window.
- 7:10And you know, Skelly Gate, that's on, it's popping.
- 7:14Yeah, well, that's all. You.
- 7:15It's a local sensation. It is.
- 7:17Look it up. It's sort of funny.
- 7:18Skelly Gate. Yeah, it's actually hilarious.
- 7:21It's. Really funny.
- 7:22They have Halloween decorations all year and they have some
- 7:25stodgy neighbor who's like freaking out and threatening
- 7:28them with the city. And of course, it's totally
- 7:32legal to do what you want on your own property, so there's
- 7:35nothing to fight. This is why we don't live in a
- 7:37HOA. Yeah, couldn't, I couldn't have
- 7:40somebody else tell me what to do with my yard or house or right
- 7:44mind your business people. Right.
- 7:45I mean, it's not that hard. It's, I mean, I say that, but
- 7:50then also I don't necessarily. We are a little judgy sometimes.
- 7:52Yeah, yeah. I mean, we had our Halloween
- 7:56decorations up and it was before Halloween and we had a neighbor
- 7:59who had already put up Christmas decorations.
- 8:02That was fun. I I was like hissing at them out
- 8:05because we had. Well, we had our annual.
- 8:07Directly but. We had our annual Halloween
- 8:09party and we were fully lighted and decorated and spooked out
- 8:15and everything and all our friends came over for our
- 8:17Halloween party and the neighbor had a real bright, real snowy
- 8:22looking, real Christmasy decoration in their front yard.
- 8:26It was. It was too much.
- 8:28It was totally annoying, was what it was, but it's their.
- 8:32Right. I thought about taking it down,
- 8:35going rogue and just taking their stuff down.
- 8:38We didn't. That's probably good.
- 8:39We didn't and it's not the the neighbor who has listened to
- 8:43this show. So that's true.
- 8:45I wonder if they had any issue with it because they also
- 8:48decorate too. They do all sorts of fun stuff.
- 8:51She's really talented at the decorating over there.
- 8:54So. But anyhow, I don't feel like
- 8:58ready, ready for it. It's a lot of work, but I did
- 9:03put on my Halloween tire cover just today because I felt my
- 9:10other one was too submarine. Which cover did you go with?
- 9:14It's a Haunted Mansion one. The hitchhiking ghosts, Yeah.
- 9:18Yeah, I love it. I'm ready for it.
- 9:19So it'll be kind of fun to it it Maybe that'll help bring me into
- 9:25the It's so much work and it. It's a lot, and this year I
- 9:28might not be as useful. I don't know.
- 9:32My, my, my body is betraying me. Well, this happens.
- 9:36This happens. Well, anyhow, so, so those are
- 9:42things that we're looking forward to and we're hoping to
- 9:45have a few spooky episodes for folks because I, it's endless
- 9:51for me the joy I receive from from this giving season, you
- 9:57know? It keeps on giving.
- 10:02It does keep on giving. Yeah, yeah, it's wonderful.
- 10:06So, but 13, right. We were talking about a little
- 10:10bit earlier about lucky, unlucky.
- 10:14And I find it interesting that that the number is unlucky in
- 10:22some places, but it is lucky other places.
- 10:26I did some research on that and I just was like why is 1?
- 10:31Why is it one way and and the other and I couldn't actually
- 10:34figure out why it was a lucky number where it was a lucky
- 10:38number? Well, tell us what your research
- 10:39said. Well, for the unlucky reason,
- 10:46people are superstitious about the number 13 and it goes way
- 10:51back. Way back.
- 10:53Way back and there was, it's really more of a Western culture
- 11:01to be afraid of, OK, and not afraid of.
- 11:04But there are, Oh my gosh, 10% of the people out there in
- 11:09America, OK, have a phobia of the number 13.
- 11:12That's a measurable number. That is crazy.
- 11:15Yeah, there's a special term. 10%. 10%.
- 11:18That's unreasonable. 10% but going back to the origins of it.
- 11:25So for in Christianity, OK, 12 is considered the perfect
- 11:34number. The perfect number because the
- 11:37apostles. Well, I but not just that,
- 11:39there's also 12 months in a year.
- 11:42I don't remember the other 12. There's the 12 hours, well, if
- 11:46you, if you're on our clock and not European clock, which is
- 11:50like 4 hour clock, yeah. So 12 is really good, but yeah,
- 11:53you were saying that a. Dozen.
- 11:55Sadly, not a Baker's, but a dozen.
- 11:58Yeah, but that has nothing to do with what the origins of.
- 12:02Oh, but I mean one of I, I guess I meant what if they they did
- 12:05the 12 because that was. Because are you saying like a
- 12:08dozen eggs has been around for like maybe 2000 years?
- 12:12I. Mean at some point somebody made
- 12:13it up. I suppose.
- 12:15There's 12 inches in a foot. OK, so but why the number 13 was
- 12:21because you had? There's two reasons actually.
- 12:25OK, because at the Last Supper, the 13th person at the table,
- 12:33yeah, betrayed Jesus. Uh oh.
- 12:36And that's Judas for anyone who doesn't know.
- 12:40So. But it had been 12, so it's good
- 12:42enough. Pronounce Judas a chariot.
- 12:45Yeah. It's close to that, I can't
- 12:52remember Scariot. OK, so.
- 12:54Sorry people did not grow up in a Christian home.
- 12:59No, you, you did not it. Turned out great though.
- 13:02Yeah, thanks. Mom.
- 13:04And then the other one had to do with Norse mythology.
- 13:09OK. And how to do with Loki?
- 13:13OK. And some dinner Loki was at.
- 13:16Was it his final supper? I I don't think so.
- 13:19I mean, that would be pretty. Good 'cause Loki's a bad guy,
- 13:21right? Well, no, he's the God of
- 13:24mischief and the brother brother of Thor.
- 13:27So he can be bad, but I don't think like like overall that
- 13:34he's bad. I feel like it could have been a
- 13:37dinner, but also I could be like mistaking that a little bit.
- 13:41But he killed somebody and they were the 13th person there.
- 13:46So I don't know why, but I remember reading about the
- 13:49person. It was like somebody's son or
- 13:52nephew. And this is a really like deep
- 13:55research, OK, but also another God.
- 13:58So I don't, I don't know how a God can kill a God, but you know
- 14:01what happens. Feel like that's the only way,
- 14:02right? I have no idea.
- 14:04I don't think, well, I guess I don't know.
- 14:06And maybe it wasn't a full God, maybe it was a partial God, but
- 14:09the person who was was the parent of whoever Loki killed
- 14:14was supposed to be a really good person or goth really good God.
- 14:18But you don't know the name. I saw it started with AB and I
- 14:22could be really wrong about that 'cause I will think of things
- 14:25and I'll be like oh it starts with the letter B and it'll be
- 14:27the letter Q. Just.
- 14:30Yeah, that's exactly what I'm thinking.
- 14:31But it's not that. And I want to say it started
- 14:33with like Baio something and it probably didn't maybe.
- 14:37That is what it is. And someone's watching and
- 14:39they're like, you're idiots. That's what it is.
- 14:41Yeah, well. Comment whatever it is because
- 14:45I'm more likely to read the comment than think about going
- 14:48back to the Wikipedia. That's true to say what was that
- 14:52you never know. I might so, but it anyhow, what
- 14:56the Christian Church wanted was doing a lot of back in the day
- 15:01when they were forming was they were finding things that pagans
- 15:08also like their types of deals, things they believed in and they
- 15:13would kind of adopt them. So I don't know if that is the
- 15:17reason why 13 became so big because they're they were cool.
- 15:21These folks believe 13 is a bad number.
- 15:24We can find a parallel bad number here because 13 is bad
- 15:28there too. So I don't I don't understand
- 15:32that but. There's also the Friday the
- 15:3813th. Yes.
- 15:40Which is a movie? Was it a book?
- 15:42I don't know if it was a book, I'm sure there's Is it based on
- 15:45actual events? Friday the 13th the movie.
- 15:48Wait, is that Freddy Krueger? Which one's Jason?
- 15:53I don't remember. Yes, Luke, it's based on actual
- 16:00events. Please don't go to sleep
- 16:02tonight. Uh, that's the wrong one.
- 16:04I meant the one with the slasher Jason.
- 16:07You think that's based on actual events?
- 16:08I don't know. Isn't that based on something in
- 16:11Minnesota? Isn't that a what the thing that
- 16:13we're at can't Lake, Lake Camp, Crystal Camp, Lake Camp?
- 16:18I don't know. I thought it was maybe it was
- 16:20filmed in Minnesota. I feel like there's a Minnesota
- 16:23tie to that movie. Yeah, but.
- 16:24That's not Friday the 13th, so we could just move on.
- 16:27It's fine. Any who it is.
- 16:29It is played around this time of year often as well as the
- 16:33Michael Myers. Yeah.
- 16:34Oh, I think that's called Halloween.
- 16:36That would make sense why they play at this time of year,
- 16:38wouldn't it? Well, I'm crushing it right now.
- 16:41Else they play at this time of year.
- 16:42Rocky Horror Picture Show Hello OH.
- 16:46The Rocky. Horror.
- 16:46Oh, and it's like an anniversary or there was some big news
- 16:49article I read. They're having like all kinds of
- 16:51parties everywhere. I want to go to 1 I.
- 16:53Think it's the 50th anniversary if I remember right.
- 16:57So. Which is crazy.
- 16:58That would mean 1975. Oh, if anyone's local and going
- 17:03to a show and has an extra ticket or is like Amber, let's
- 17:06do it. Yeah.
- 17:07And I still. Wear the leather costume in a
- 17:12black curly wig and some real red lipstick.
- 17:16Black eyeshadow just bringing it.
- 17:18I won't wear any. Anything, maybe.
- 17:24Oh gosh, no, I can't remember the maid's name.
- 17:27Maybe I dress up like her. The German one.
- 17:30Wait, is that clue I'm mixing up the movies?
- 17:32It's holy gosh. Why am I crushing it?
- 17:35Yeah, yeah, you guys, I just want you all to know if you're
- 17:37listening or watching. I can't remember stuff.
- 17:40No, it's all, it kind of just gets mixed in together.
- 17:44It's like, you know, mashed potatoes.
- 17:46We're just putting it all in there and mixing it up.
- 17:48There's not that many things in mashed potatoes.
- 17:51Well, there's at least five things. 5 All salt.
- 17:55Salt. Pepper, Pepper.
- 17:58Potatoes, butter, butter, cream. OK, that's fine.
- 18:03All right, there you go. Take that.
- 18:05All right, I was just thinking 3.
- 18:07Anyway, it's Friday the 13th. OK so for Friday the 13th, do
- 18:12you know why Friday the 13th is also now a bad luck day?
- 18:17Like like 13th bad. Why?
- 18:19It's a bad luck day for me. So it's not really a bad luck
- 18:23day for me. The movie was bad for me as a
- 18:26kid 'cause when it came out and I don't know the year, but it
- 18:29was a long time ago and I was still fairly young at the time.
- 18:34My older brothers who are quite a bit older, four and six years
- 18:36older than me, they wanted to watch this new scary movie and I
- 18:40feel like they were both well into their teens, maybe like
- 18:43they were 14 and 16 and that would have made me 10 or they
- 18:45were 13 and 15 and that would have made me 9 and I don't know
- 18:49how or why. Maybe my mom was on a work trip
- 18:51so I don't even know. Anyway, so we all watched this
- 18:54movie and I had terrible nightmares.
- 18:57I literally thought Freddy Krueger was killing me in my
- 19:00dreams. I had nightmares.
- 19:02I was crying. It was terrible, terrible.
- 19:05So, older brothers, if you're listening, that was bad of you.
- 19:11But you know what it did? It did give us a really good
- 19:14Halloween song. It did.
- 19:16Nightmare on my Street by Fresh Prince.
- 19:18Yep. And Jazzy Jeff?
- 19:20DJ Jazzy Jeff, that's what's up. If you aren't familiar, please
- 19:24look for it. It's great.
- 19:26It's. Didn't that win like AI feel
- 19:29like that won like a Grammy or something?
- 19:30No way. It might have.
- 19:33I mean, I'm not kidding. I know.
- 19:36Will Smith was, I think, the first rapper to win a Grammy.
- 19:42You. Think for I mean.
- 19:43It might have not been that. It might have been like, what
- 19:46was that? Parents don't understand was
- 19:49that was a big hit back in the day, right?
- 19:52Anyway. Well, I would say you all should
- 19:55listen to it and decide if you think it should have won a
- 19:58Grammy, whether or not again, Nightmare on My Street.
- 20:03That was our daughter's, one of her favorite songs for a really
- 20:06long time. And if you haven't seen.
- 20:10Any Friday the 13th movies it'll essentially sum it up for you.
- 20:14Don't. Watch them if you're a kid
- 20:15though, I mean. I don't know if it's scary.
- 20:18Her kid. Actually, they might be like,
- 20:19why does this look all grainy and low quality, which is what
- 20:22our daughter does. Every time you see something
- 20:23older than like, I don't know, 2000, it's like.
- 20:26It's an ancient. Movie.
- 20:27This looks like it's from the old times.
- 20:31But watching scary movies though as a kid is pretty it's.
- 20:36It's a rite of passage. It is, it's super, it's super
- 20:39important, I think, for kids to watch them and I think it
- 20:42depends on I don't, I don't know.
- 20:45It's good to have some fun scares.
- 20:47I love scary movies though. I really do.
- 20:50And I why don't? We watch them.
- 20:53'Cause you get too scared. Well, I could participate.
- 20:58Yeah, I'm sure. I don't know.
- 21:01There are some that I'm like. Do you have any on the list
- 21:03right now that you're like, I want to watch this and you
- 21:05haven't? I no, I don't, but I'm sure what
- 21:09as we get closer to Halloween, I'll come up with some.
- 21:12I'm gonna give you one free pass.
- 21:14I'll watch one and hope to goodness I don't have
- 21:16nightmares. OK?
- 21:18Freddy Krueger's coming for me again.
- 21:20Yeah, watching you, Freddy. I don't think I would pick one
- 21:23of those. I don't like this like slasher
- 21:26gore movies, but I've really liked some of those.
- 21:31Like what is it like? Get out and oh.
- 21:34That was a good movie. The one where they had like the
- 21:38they don't. Even call that a horror movie.
- 21:40Well, I don't know. Oh, the one that he also made,
- 21:43that's what's his name? Peele.
- 21:44Yeah. Jordan Peele.
- 21:46A great movie. Yeah, that was a messed up
- 21:49movie. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 21:52I like the the lead. I can't say her name.
- 21:57Neopto. Anyway.
- 21:59I can't I can't say her name, but she was amazing in that US
- 22:03movie. Yep.
- 22:05Scared the socks off I think. She was in two of his movies.
- 22:09I feel like they collab quite a bit.
- 22:11But maybe I'm thinking that movie if you haven't seen it,
- 22:15see it if you like a scary movie because I might be parsing 2
- 22:19movies because I will do that where I'll think it's.
- 22:22Sure, make fun of me for doing it.
- 22:23Here you go. No, I mean, what?
- 22:25No, just because I might think it's two different movies.
- 22:28I don't know. Anyhow, I liked that one a lot
- 22:31and I'm sure there's going to be one out there that I like.
- 22:33I just don't like too much gore, and not because I'm scared of
- 22:37the gore, it just is I like. Oh, there's a new movie that
- 22:41came out recently that people are all talking about called
- 22:45Weapons. I think it's, I think it's a
- 22:47horror movie and it's like not a gory horror movie.
- 22:50You might want to look into that.
- 22:51I, I prefer suspense, but you know, it's, it's important.
- 22:56I don't I from a very young age I've been interested in scary
- 23:00movies. My favorite movie when I was in
- 23:03first grade. 1st grade. 1st grade psycho.
- 23:07I mean, I knew you were going to say psycho, but I first grade,
- 23:11yeah. Yeah.
- 23:13Your your mother who's going to watch or listen to this?
- 23:17Let you watch. She did.
- 23:19Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho in first grade.
- 23:24Oh, my mom let me watch all Alfred Hitchcock movies.
- 23:27Oh my goodness. I think that was in preparation
- 23:31for a trip we were going on. Yeah, it's like here we're going
- 23:34to go. On vacation here, watch this
- 23:36crazy psycho, literally psycho come all slasher mad because his
- 23:41dead mom's sitting up in the house and he's having
- 23:44conversations with her. I dressing up like her.
- 23:48My godmother also would have us watch scary movies as man.
- 23:52I watched Cujo with her. Yeah, so.
- 23:55Scary movie tech. Cujo, Stephen King with a rabid.
- 24:00I mean, the dog was scary, but I don't know if I'd call it like
- 24:03a. Horror movie?
- 24:04I'm pretty sure it's in the horror.
- 24:05Stephen King, Any? Stephen King is.
- 24:07Yeah, he makes some. Spooky stuff and I saw Pet
- 24:09Sematary. With a S.
- 24:12Was it cemeteries? No, no, I think it's spelled.
- 24:15I think he spells Pet Sematary with an S.
- 24:17Oh, I think so too, yeah. Which I don't understand.
- 24:19Actually, there's probably a reason I don't.
- 24:23I don't think that matters to to me or you, but so but I watched
- 24:27a lot of those scary movies and I had a lot of fun with them and
- 24:31that's great. It kind of really probably
- 24:34desensitized me, but also again, shaped me as a human being.
- 24:38One of the reasons I like scary stuff is I get to think back
- 24:42fondly on my child. So yeah, but that originally I,
- 24:49I'm going to come back to what we had talked about in the
- 24:52beginning of why Friday the 13th.
- 24:55So again, in Western culture, Friday the 13th is worse than
- 25:01regular 13th. It's like a double whammy
- 25:05because on Friday the 13th, and I don't know how long ago, you
- 25:10know, hundreds of years ago, the Knights Templar were slaughtered
- 25:17by either a king or a Pope or something.
- 25:21I don't know. But that was done on Friday the
- 25:2413th. And so people were like, the
- 25:2613th's already bad, now Friday's bad.
- 25:28And actually, Friday is considered the worst day of the
- 25:31week to biblically speaking. That makes no sense.
- 25:37I thought it was called Good Friday in that one holiday.
- 25:42Is that lent? Did I do something?
- 25:46Wrong. Again, for all you watching
- 25:47people and listening, I did not grow up in a Christian house.
- 25:51She's got this. Look, I know it's coming because
- 25:52you did. I messed up.
- 25:54Is it What's? What's so?
- 25:56It's not, I mean. It's not Good Friday.
- 25:58So I guess what is good is that Jesus was like, yeah, I'll die
- 26:04for all of you like it. Was the day he died.
- 26:07What is the day he died? Uh oh.
- 26:09So like good my. Bad y'all.
- 26:12Good. I don't know.
- 26:13I mean 'cause I guess that needed to happen for the rest to
- 26:16happen for folks. I hope we didn't just
- 26:18unsubscribe people. I they probably might just be
- 26:21praying for you. That's probably that's toss a
- 26:25rosary my way people. I'll take it.
- 26:27Yeah, so those those, that would be the reason why.
- 26:30But Friday also was the day I read this and I I don't remember
- 26:35this being a thing growing up, but that they believe that Adam
- 26:40and Eve, well technically Eve ate from the tree of knowledge.
- 26:45On Friday the 13th. On a Friday.
- 26:47On a Friday. Yes, I feel like that's a
- 26:50stretch. Well.
- 26:51Did they even have a calendar? Weren't they technically like
- 26:54immortal? No.
- 26:58Didn't they become mortals because of the apple?
- 27:01That I No, no, no, I don't think so.
- 27:05I don't. Clearly you know more of this
- 27:07than I do. I feel like maybe and if I'm
- 27:10wrong I really. Maybe you know that I don't.
- 27:12I don't know. I'm not even sure.
- 27:14Immortal. I think you might.
- 27:16Be so the the the tree of knowledge, the apple of
- 27:18knowledge. Well, maybe.
- 27:20I probably wasn't. Was that considered the first
- 27:23sin or something? I feel like I heard that.
- 27:25Yeah, yeah, OK. Mm hmm.
- 27:27This is on a Friday. That's what they said.
- 27:29And based on my interest, I don't remember that being a
- 27:33thing in like growing up learning.
- 27:36Yeah. But I, I was curious about why
- 27:38Friday the 13th. Friday, my favorite day of the
- 27:41week. You know what other
- 27:43superstitions are out there? Yeah, a lot.
- 27:46A lot. A lot like people are
- 27:49superstitious about all kind of things like the the mirror one
- 27:54if like is it if you break a mirror or if you see yourself in
- 27:57a broken mirror? I think if you break out a
- 28:00mirror. Breaking a mirror?
- 28:01That's bad news also. Seven years bad luck.
- 28:04I feel like that's messed up because you basically are like
- 28:08breaking your face. Like if you go, you know what
- 28:11I'm saying? Are you thinking it could be an
- 28:12accident? I was thinking you got mad and
- 28:15broke it on purpose because. That no, I think it's just if
- 28:18you break it, like you drop it and all of that, you would get
- 28:22mad and break them. No, I've never done that.
- 28:25I don't think this is that's. Just what came to my brain like
- 28:27why would you break a mirror? But I could see it being a more
- 28:29of an accident, like if you were carrying a mirror.
- 28:32Yes, that would be more likely. That would be more likely.
- 28:37Yeah. So that that is something that
- 28:39is, you know, people can be superstitious about when I've
- 28:42broken mirrors, which is I think I, I recall doing it twice.
- 28:48Both times I was like oh I don't know did I do something bad or
- 28:54not? I mean like breaking a mirror
- 28:56bad also. I've broken a mirror.
- 29:00I think I've broke one. We're moving 1, so we have one
- 29:02of those ones you put on the back of a closet door like that,
- 29:05like a tall, the tall skinny mirror.
- 29:07And I dropped one and it broke. I don't think I cared.
- 29:09It's also supposed to be bad luck to have two mirrors facing
- 29:12each other. Well, that's messed up.
- 29:14Just good looking at it. You're like I'm Infinity.
- 29:17It is kind of scary. I mean like.
- 29:18Plus, it was in a Star Wars movie, bringing back Star Wars.
- 29:23You don't remember that? No, I'm.
- 29:25It's a epic, epic, epic moment. When Ray.
- 29:28I didn't see the new heroine in Star Wars.
- 29:31Yeah. Oh, it was her test of the dark
- 29:33side. To look in the mirror.
- 29:35No, but OK, not to look in the mirror.
- 29:39There was some stuff that happened well, like it was in
- 29:43like a dark part of the island and the dark side was like the
- 29:48spirit of the dark side was there and she, I can't remember
- 29:51all the details. She looked in the mirror and
- 29:53then like her face got all like like wicked and evil looking and
- 29:59I can't remember the rest of it. But anyway, OK.
- 30:02Well, it's information. I didn't.
- 30:03Zone out at all while you were talking.
- 30:06I said Star Wars, Star Wars longer than pre. 2nd, another
- 30:12superstition that because of course, then I wanted to
- 30:15research, you know, we're looking at 13 being
- 30:18superstitious. This is our 13th episode.
- 30:20I love a good theme and I was what else?
- 30:23Yeah, it is bad luck. Bad luck.
- 30:27To kill a spider in your house on Halloween.
- 30:30Why? Because they say that that if
- 30:34you see a spider in your house on Halloween, it is a dead loved
- 30:38one that has come to visit you. So don't do it, folks.
- 30:42Well, no dead loved ones come to visit us because I don't like
- 30:45spiders at all. I refuse to kill them on
- 30:47Halloween. I.
- 30:49Halloween or otherwise, I don't like a spider.
- 30:51I know, and I I really actually would never kill a spider if it
- 30:55wasn't for my family's intense fear of spiders.
- 30:59Every time I'm like I'm. Do you think we have actual
- 31:02arachnophobia? Well, I don't know y'all freak
- 31:05out. I don't know.
- 31:06I would just let them out. That's what I would do.
- 31:08And I will not kill a spider outside like that's where you
- 31:11live. You get to you get to do that.
- 31:13So but anyone if you see one, just say hi.
- 31:16You know you don't know which one it is.
- 31:18Which? Another creature, superstition,
- 31:20just came to mind. Black Cats.
- 31:23That is, there's nothing unlucky about a black cat.
- 31:25We both agree on that. So flippin cute.
- 31:29I there's nothing unlucky to me about having one cross my path
- 31:33like I'm going to get down on the ground and try to pet it.
- 31:35That's that's having something fluffy to love.
- 31:39There's never a time where that's unlucky.
- 31:42But I did come across another animal superstition that is
- 31:47unlucky. An owl in your house?
- 31:51In your house. In your house.
- 31:53Like inside the house? Yep.
- 31:56Who's got owls in there supposed to?
- 31:57Be a sign of bad luck. I feel like it just is bad luck
- 32:01but not a sign of bad luck. I can't even who?
- 32:04Came up with that owl. How did an owl get in someone's
- 32:07house? Well, Lennon was one of the
- 32:09little cute fellas that what are they called?
- 32:12The pygmy Pygmy ones. Not everywhere in the world do
- 32:16they have screens on their windows and things like that.
- 32:20Also he's. Got open windows and the owls
- 32:22are flying into them. Yeah, yeah.
- 32:25Which then? Well, OK, I don't know if
- 32:27they're flying into them, but yeah, years ago I went to Europe
- 32:31and it kind of blew my mind that they didn't have screens on
- 32:33their. Did you see any wild birds in
- 32:36people's houses? No, I did not.
- 32:38I feel like this is a far fetched one.
- 32:40Maybe that's why it's bad luck because it's like a crazy
- 32:44circumstance and they are considered to be messengers to
- 32:47the world of the dead in some. Cultures.
- 32:49People don't like owls. I like them I think.
- 32:51I think they're great. But also back to Europe.
- 32:54Yeah. And unlucky, when I was staying
- 32:58at a hotel in Europe, we got on this elevator and we were
- 33:02staying on the 14th floor except for on the on the the buttons
- 33:08where you push your thing. It was like a piece of tape on
- 33:11it and said 14. And it just happened to be right
- 33:14after the number 12. And so we get up to the floor
- 33:18and everything. It's you can see the original
- 33:2013, you know where they pried the numbers off the doors and
- 33:23they put 14. Wasn't there a movie called The
- 33:2613th Floor? I feel like I might have watched
- 33:28it. Could have been, I don't know.
- 33:30I don't remember but. Also, there's according to the
- 33:35Internet, there's not a 13th row in most airplanes.
- 33:40Huh. That's unlucky.
- 33:42I would probably say I don't want to fly in this plane if you
- 33:45were to sit me on the 13th row. Yeah, Yeah.
- 33:49I mean, there's I have enough fear going on airplanes that I
- 33:54mean, you give me one more thing where you're like, now I don't
- 33:58know why I would just be unlucky for me in my 13th row.
- 34:00But I feel like that would just be, yeah, but I don't really
- 34:04have an issue with 13. But that would be just enough.
- 34:07Like, is this an omen? Might be, might be.
- 34:11That was a movie, The Omen. It was a movie.
- 34:14So I think that one is kind of a oh, so I talked about the owl.
- 34:21Yeah. And we talked about, what we
- 34:23haven't talked about is a superstition that a lot of
- 34:27people have. What's that?
- 34:30Knocking on wood. Oh yeah.
- 34:32Yeah, and that's. I think everyone's got that.
- 34:36It's on every continent. It is.
- 34:39Yeah, there is a superstition about knocking on wood and it
- 34:43depends on where you are. You know what, in Australia I
- 34:47just remembered this out of nowhere.
- 34:49I used to work with an Australian guy and in Australia
- 34:52they say touch wood instead of knock on wood.
- 34:56OK. Like that's the like we say
- 34:58knock on wood, you know, you knock, but they say touch wood
- 35:02and then they knock. On yeah, yeah, well, it depends
- 35:06on to where you are as to exactly like you're saying, the
- 35:08type of what, what the saying is and all of that.
- 35:11You know, in some, I don't, Netherlands or something like
- 35:15that, when they say knock on wood, they knock on their head
- 35:18because, you know, why not? My head is made of wood.
- 35:21Yeah, there was 1 country and I'm not going to remember which
- 35:23one, but there was 1 country where they would, where you
- 35:28knock on wood to, you know, not be cursed or what have you, but
- 35:34you can't knock on a wooden table.
- 35:38I don't know why. Why not?
- 35:41I I don't know. That doesn't make any sense.
- 35:44No, but you have to find another piece of wood.
- 35:46But if you're knock on a wooden table, that is bad luck.
- 35:50Really. Yeah, yeah.
- 35:53Yeah, how could they take the good luck thing everyone agrees
- 35:55on and make it bad luck? It's.
- 35:57Like and know that. Every continent, you know, it's
- 36:02like when we're talking about tag.
- 36:03It's the ultimate games that's loaded by everyone.
- 36:06Yeah. Yeah.
- 36:06I only wonder if animals knock on wood.
- 36:08Do you think they do? No.
- 36:09Are animals superstitious? I don't know, I wonder if they
- 36:13are this. Is this probably as I have my
- 36:17own, I have a lot of superstitions.
- 36:18I feel like this is a stupid human thing, right?
- 36:21What if it's not stupid? I mean, right, I I subscribe, I
- 36:25fully subscribe. I mean, maybe we're tuned into
- 36:28something that you know, is is out there.
- 36:31You never know. But it goes way like to the
- 36:34beginning of history almost, you know, I as far as the
- 36:37superstition and back in the day, like the, I don't know,
- 36:43like there's history of Celtics believing that they trees were
- 36:48spiritual and they had good spirits in them.
- 36:51Of course, now if you cut a tree down, you've now opened it up to
- 36:58bad spirits. OK.
- 37:01So when we knock on wood, you know, for good luck, you know,
- 37:05they would be if they were talking about something, you
- 37:08know, they would be knocking on wood to keep the bad spirits
- 37:11away so they couldn't hear them. So they go not like if they're
- 37:14talking about something, they'd be knocking really hardly.
- 37:17So that's loud. Yeah.
- 37:19Yeah. So it's not just a knock, knock.
- 37:21They're just in, you know, the whole time because they didn't
- 37:24want to get bad luck. But I don't I found.
- 37:26That. I found that very interesting
- 37:28and a lot of it, a lot of what I was reading had to do with wood
- 37:31being considered like, like a spiritual, like spirits that can
- 37:35come through wood. I don't know.
- 37:37I don't know. It still continues today.
- 37:41Well, I'm I'm a believer in knock on wood.
- 37:44I know you do it frequently. I also, I don't do it that
- 37:49frequently, but I do tell people because I personally never think
- 37:53I jinx myself, but I think you jinx me.
- 37:56And so I'll say, you know, like knock on wood, Luke, or, you
- 38:00know, I don't know. So it's an interesting theory,
- 38:05but I feel like it's just very common and uncommon superstition
- 38:09that I found. And I have to just share this
- 38:11one 'cause I found it very interesting and it would never
- 38:14work in our great state of Minnesota.
- 38:17But our neighbors to the South, Iowa, there is a superstition
- 38:22and I'm sure it's not going to be everybody in Iowa.
- 38:24So before you send us letters and say I don't believe in that
- 38:28bogusness, letters, letters, e-mail, electronic letters is
- 38:35perfect, OK? Yeah.
- 38:40Is that the first one to leave? A funeral is the first to die.
- 38:47It's like a reverse wedding thing with the Garter.
- 38:50Uh huh. Us Minnesotans, we have the
- 38:54Minnesotan goodbye. And so I feel like it would
- 38:56never work for us because we're like, I could stay here till
- 38:59tomorrow. Yeah, yeah.
- 39:00We would just outweigh each other.
- 39:02Outweigh each other all the time.
- 39:03It is amazing. The The Long Goodbye, yeah.
- 39:07Which was, that was a movie as well.
- 39:09Why I didn't see it? I don't know if I saw it.
- 39:11I'm remembering names of movie titles a lot today for some
- 39:13reason. That's OK.
- 39:14Sometimes I do the same thing. Or names of songs, all of those
- 39:17things. It just sort of happens.
- 39:20But Luke, let me ask you a question.
- 39:22Oh, and now people, the moment you've all been waiting for in
- 39:28this corner, claiming to weigh in at 135 lbs and sporting a
- 39:35fantastic Target boutique black leopard and bat printed sweat
- 39:43suit, is my smoking hot wife Amber.
- 39:47She's going to need all that today.
- 39:50I don't think I will. In this corner we have Luke, who
- 39:54is also dressed thematically for spooky season with some of my
- 39:59favorite monsters. He has a little bit of a record
- 40:06here on our our score keeping right now.
- 40:08Currently for finalized votes, Luke has lost five.
- 40:15Why do you guys say it that way? When you're the one, you say it
- 40:18different. You're like, I've won, yeah.
- 40:20OK, you, you could have done this, but you said you, you
- 40:23delegated this to me. Delegated nothing, you've been.
- 40:27Tied twice and you won 4 so far. So I'm closing the gap.
- 40:35You are closing the gap. However, I this is, this is
- 40:40where we're at. The big question, Luke, what is
- 40:45a superstition that you hold that is maybe a little wonky?
- 40:55I mean, I don't know if it's wonky, but first of all, I'm
- 41:02just going to point out to the viewers I've grown out my
- 41:05glorious red beard. Oh, I didn't talk about that.
- 41:08That's OK. It looks it looks nice.
- 41:11I was more excited about your shirt.
- 41:12That's fine. It is a great shirt.
- 41:15My superstition that I, that I, I adhere to, slash believe in.
- 41:23I'm superstitious about it. Which is going head to head
- 41:27against yours, which you'll introduce later, I imagine is
- 41:31the number 666. And I get I get a little, I get
- 41:36a little spooked by it. I mean, I didn't even really
- 41:40want to say it. I'm going to say it a bunch
- 41:41today and I'm I'm not happy about it, but.
- 41:44You will say it. And the reason is because I
- 41:49think it was like, was it part of something?
- 41:51When we were growing up? We said something.
- 41:53I thought it was always a thing, yes, like all, like the number
- 41:57was always spooky since Christianity.
- 41:59But then see, since I don't know the history correctly, you I
- 42:04believe informed me that it was not actually that old and it was
- 42:06a more recent development or something.
- 42:08I don't know what you're talking about, but.
- 42:09The number number. No, I know.
- 42:12I mean, I don't know what you're talking about.
- 42:13That was a more recent development.
- 42:15But no, it's been a a number for a long time.
- 42:22Well, of course it's been. No, I meant like.
- 42:24That anyways, so OK, so the the reason that I don't like it is
- 42:28is it's continuing adoption in society that people generally
- 42:36associate the number with the devil.
- 42:39And I think that crosses not just Christianity, I think like
- 42:44a lot of people in a lot of different walks of life and
- 42:47faith think the number 666 is associated with the devil or
- 42:51demons or both and it's bad luck and it's a bad omen, etcetera.
- 42:56And I tend to agree. Some examples would be at my
- 43:00work, I, I work in the car business.
- 43:04So I see lots of cars and I also see lots of numbers.
- 43:09So anytime I see the number 666, if I can, depending on what it
- 43:15is, I'm going to round that number.
- 43:17Like I'm not going to use it. If it's like the stocking number
- 43:21on a car, I'm going to skip over it.
- 43:22I'm going right from 665TO667. That's not rounding.
- 43:26OK, accountant anyways. Account test.
- 43:33Account the Countess of contention.
- 43:38I also see the number on license plates and I'm like that's not
- 43:44good, you shouldn't have that license plate.
- 43:46If I was assigned the number 666 in the license plate, I would
- 43:50probably get a custom plate to replace it.
- 43:53I feel like if you have that number, they probably would say,
- 43:56OK, yeah, you can return it and we'll give you a different one.
- 43:58Oh no, you don't think? So I actually know that to be
- 44:01not the case. Really.
- 44:02Yeah. The state runs in sequence.
- 44:04They don't give you, there's not like a skip it discount.
- 44:07They let you buy some more stuff for sure.
- 44:10They would say, oh, you want to pay more money for a different
- 44:13license plate? That sounds good.
- 44:16And they let you pay extra to customize it.
- 44:19Yep. And I mean, like when I see it,
- 44:23I get like kind of the heebie jeebies a little bit.
- 44:26And I don't like it. I don't like it to be naturally
- 44:29occurring anywhere. I don't like it to see it
- 44:31written down. I don't.
- 44:35Now does 999 bother you? No, because it's just a upside
- 44:39down that's but no, of course not.
- 44:41But you know what Disney World shout out Disney World future
- 44:44potential sponsor. We will take all the free
- 44:47tickets you'll give us. They have at the Haunted Mansion
- 44:51999 haunts. Yeah, because there's always
- 44:57room for one more. There's always room for one
- 44:59more. I also wonder if maybe someone
- 45:03wasn't like some people might think, Upside down 666.
- 45:06I never did until I saw this year they made like AI think
- 45:09they call it a spirit jersey, no pun intended.
- 45:14And on the back of it, like on the front of it, I think it said
- 45:17Haunted Mansion. And on the back of it, it said
- 45:19999. And I saw it and I was like,
- 45:23it's a upside down 666, which never had I thought before.
- 45:27I was that's, you know, and I've been there a bunch and I've
- 45:29heard it and I not once did it cross my mind.
- 45:32Yeah, till I saw it in print 999.
- 45:34I was like, oh, that is sneaky. Yeah, I think they did it on
- 45:39purpose. They could've.
- 45:40They could've Anyway, so that's supposed.
- 45:42To originally be something really scary.
- 45:45OK. Well, anyway, so that's my,
- 45:47that's my superstition. I think that I'm superstitious
- 45:51about the number 666 'cause that's the devil.
- 45:55That's my, that's it. What you got?
- 45:59OK, well it. Sounds like what I find
- 46:04interesting is the origins of it is not, as we discussed
- 46:09literally in this episode, is not something that you ever
- 46:13subscribed to. So you were really like, you
- 46:16know, like society really put that in you.
- 46:20But now I have a superstition which I find I know is absurd.
- 46:28OK. I know it's absurd, but it's
- 46:31walking under ladders. I have never in my whole life
- 46:34ever walked under a ladder. I have many times.
- 46:39No, I can't do it. I seriously, I've, I've tried
- 46:44and then I'm like, like, and I'll psych myself up like Amber.
- 46:48You can do it, you can walk. You got this, you got this, you
- 46:52got this and I'll get right there.
- 46:53I'm like. Your body just turns.
- 46:57Yeah, it's taking a left. I cannot do it.
- 46:59That's great. And it's personally I, it's not
- 47:03like I knew any, it just, that's always what they said, you know?
- 47:08You were taught. I was, well, someone said it.
- 47:11I don't, I don't think my dad or mom were like don't walk under a
- 47:15ladder or anything like that. But but it is one of those, I
- 47:18can't, I bet you there's less than one person of the
- 47:21population who's like, oh, that's scary, That's awful.
- 47:25But yeah, I cannot. I cannot.
- 47:26And I've tried because I know how dumb it to me it's like this
- 47:30is such a stupid superstition, but I can't do it.
- 47:33Just like if I hear in my head while I'm out walking.
- 47:35Is that the one that gives you 7 years of bad luck?
- 47:38I don't even know. There's one of these
- 47:40superstitions that's that's. Breaking a mirror.
- 47:42Oh, it is OK, yeah. I don't.
- 47:44I don't. Probably.
- 47:45What about opening an umbrella inside?
- 47:47I don't do that. Does that give you 7 years of
- 47:50bad luck? Oh.
- 47:50It's bad luck though. It's just bad luck to do.
- 47:52It it's just bad luck. Yeah, OK.
- 47:54Yeah. I do it.
- 47:55I don't understand why. To dry off the umbrella.
- 47:58Yeah, well, you can leave it outside to dry it off.
- 48:01It would be wet. You could also no, no, you just
- 48:05put it over a overhang or under overhang and it'll dry off.
- 48:09There's no reason to open an umbrella inside.
- 48:11I will not. I don't.
- 48:13I only do it at work actually. I don't.
- 48:15I guess I don't have reason to do it.
- 48:17OK, but wait. OK, So you mean like fully
- 48:21extend the umbrella or just don't tie it up?
- 48:24Because I won't tie it up, but I'm not going to sit.
- 48:26There and push it up so it's open.
- 48:29It's raining and I like sideways bring it through the door, you
- 48:33know, 'cause they're wide so you don't want to, You can't
- 48:35actually walk it through the door unless you compress it.
- 48:39So, and I don't do this on purpose, but it's easier just to
- 48:41kind of swing it in and then set it on the ground near the.
- 48:45Door opening, an umbrella inside.
- 48:46That's just having an open umbrella inside.
- 48:48Yeah, that's, oh, maybe I don't do it then.
- 48:50Like opening would be purposefully opening the
- 48:53umbrella inside. Maybe I don't do that.
- 48:57OK, well, I don't anyway, Sorry I sidetracked you.
- 48:59We're we're walking under ladders.
- 49:00Oh, so yeah, it's just one of those things I can't do.
- 49:03I've tried. And like, I mean, even I don't,
- 49:06I don't walk around a lot of ladders in general.
- 49:08This is not a world. My job.
- 49:11I was on a ladder today. Well, a lot of times you'll ask
- 49:13me to hold the ladder and I will only hold it from the front
- 49:16side. I will not walk around, I will
- 49:18not walk under it. I also you're welcome because I
- 49:22also think it'd be bad luck for you if I walked under the ladder
- 49:25while you were on it. Maybe that's what it is.
- 49:27Maybe you'd give bad luck to the ladder Walker person.
- 49:31I no, I don't know is it? Laddery and ladder or.
- 49:35Why no? I don't think that there is such
- 49:37a thing on either, but I can't. Do it.
- 49:40Such a dork. You know, sometimes I just let
- 49:43you have it, but it so I feel like it's such a dumb, dumb
- 49:50thing, but I wanted to figure out why.
- 49:52Why do I have this fear? Because there are times where I
- 49:55think, why do I have something or why do I have this belief or
- 49:59anything like that? So then I do digging to to
- 50:02determine, is this a reasonable belief that I have?
- 50:05Or is this just something that has been put into my brain in in
- 50:09the concepts of maybe I can get over whatever this hurdle it is
- 50:13that exists. So I definitely looked at why
- 50:17walking under a ladder or where it came from.
- 50:20Where does it come from? So it comes from early
- 50:24Egyptians. Wow.
- 50:26So. That's like foundation of
- 50:30society type old. Yeah, yeah, I.
- 50:32Think I mean they're like 5000 ish Or is it 5000 BCI?
- 50:37Don't know. It's a real old culture.
- 50:40Yeah, but the reason is they thought the perfect shape.
- 50:48Imagine this is a triangle. Well, they were right.
- 50:54I mean, they built some stuff that's still over there.
- 50:56Right, right. And it's a triangle.
- 50:58I don't know why I was like, oh, I get that now.
- 51:01And so, you know, the big things that they built, you know, a
- 51:03perfect shape that they made for their gods or whatever.
- 51:06You know, of course, but a ladder leaning against a wall
- 51:10makes a sure. Triangle, well and a foldy
- 51:15ladder when it's out is a triangle that's.
- 51:18What they have back in ancient. Probably not.
- 51:21But anyhow, so anything that breaks that triangle breaks the
- 51:25I know it's a holy shape, like it's a spiritual shape.
- 51:28Anything that breaks that shape, that is unholy and bad.
- 51:34So you would not want to make something unholy and bad so you
- 51:38wouldn't break that triangle. OK, so I don't think that that's
- 51:43what goes on in my brain. You don't have like an affinity
- 51:47for triangles. You know, I kind of do like
- 51:49triangles. That might be my favorite shape
- 51:51if you were to have a shape favorite.
- 51:54That's interesting. I don't know that I have a
- 51:55favorite shape. Yes, I do.
- 51:57It's a circle. Interesting.
- 51:59Look at that. Mine is because it's also three,
- 52:02and three's a pretty cool number.
- 52:03Our opposites work really well together.
- 52:04They. Really do a circle and a yeah
- 52:07yeah, a triangle together. Paul, I have dual Paul.
- 52:10I have dual. Opposites attract.
- 52:13What does that have to do with a circle and a triangle?
- 52:15I just was talking about how we have opposites and then the song
- 52:19came into my head. See if this is how my brain
- 52:21works. I don't think there's just a
- 52:22series. Of circle random things and then
- 52:25they go and it makes sense to me.
- 52:29I don't think there's an opposite of circle except for
- 52:31maybe line. OK, I bet that I don't know.
- 52:35We must have some Mathemagician friends out there who can tell.
- 52:38Us, we have at least one. We do, we do.
- 52:42But I don't know what the opposite of a triangle would be.
- 52:45I don't know, maybe the that inverse shape of that triangle.
- 52:51I don't know. Anyhow.
- 52:52So yeah, that's my fear that I know is completely absurd.
- 52:58Not fear superstition. And I cannot change it.
- 53:02You know, much like walking on the sidewalk, if I think in my
- 53:05head, step on a crack, break your mother's back.
- 53:08I will. I can't.
- 53:09I get like, cannot step on a crack.
- 53:11OK, so luckily. I stepped on a crack and
- 53:14literally broke my mom's back. Yeah, sorry mom.
- 53:17Yeah, that's your fault. You're welcome, Mom, for
- 53:20purposefully protecting your back.
- 53:22And maybe you're right about some of these superstitions
- 53:24because like, I've walked under a ladder a lot of times and I've
- 53:29had a lot of surgeries in my life.
- 53:31How many surgeries have you had? Surgeries.
- 53:34Yeah, 0. Yeah, I'm at like hold on 1234
- 53:44knee, knee. We don't.
- 53:49Want to have seven years of dead?
- 53:51OK, sorry. Anyway people, I've had a lot of
- 53:53surgery. Maybe it's all the times I
- 53:54walked under a ladder. Yeah, also, maybe that's why our
- 53:58last episode did not the last time we tried to record this.
- 54:02It didn't record. It didn't record because you're
- 54:03like, just forget ladders, I don't care and.
- 54:07Today I didn't walk under a ladder.
- 54:09Wait, did you really think about that?
- 54:11No. Oh.
- 54:15Anyway, so we have a that's the battle.
- 54:17So we have the battle. So your superstition, yeah, is
- 54:20walking under ladders. Yeah.
- 54:22And mine is 666, the spooky devil number, and it's a versus
- 54:28battle. Yeah.
- 54:29So people got a vote for who wins this episode.
- 54:34Of really, who has a more ridiculous superstition?
- 54:38I don't think that was the question.
- 54:39Yeah, it was. The most ridiculous?
- 54:42Yeah, No, anyway, it would. They're going to pick whatever
- 54:46they're going to pick. That's true.
- 54:47So how do they vote? Darling, the best way to vote is
- 54:52through Spotify where they have polls and.
- 54:56Then we make the poll. I'm like, yeah, Spotify has
- 55:02polls everywhere. So you that's, Oh my gosh, I'm
- 55:06sorry. There is a poll app within
- 55:08Spotify and that is the easiest way.
- 55:13Or you can comment within our social medias.
- 55:17All the socials. That's fine as well.
- 55:20Are we, are we arguing ever after on all the socials?
- 55:23Yeah. OK, so we got that on all the
- 55:25socials, Yeah. You can e-mail
- 55:27arguingeverafteryes@gmail.com. So vote for, vote for the
- 55:34superstition. We'll have the very formal
- 55:37question figured out 'cause I thought we already discussed it.
- 55:41I thought it was just a versus battle but OK whatever it don't
- 55:43matter. Alright, so do that and then
- 55:46also share this. With your friends.
- 55:49With your friends, it's bad luck not.
- 55:51To well, that's not true, but I'm into the let's tell them
- 55:55it's. No, it's good the.
- 55:57Curse upon your house. Well, I'll say.
- 55:59It is it brings you good luck if you share this with 10 friends.
- 56:04Oh man, you remember those the chainmails send this that
- 56:08started as letters. You'd have to say.
- 56:11Oh my goodness. Send this to 10 of your friends.
- 56:13You'll have good luck for the next 10 days that's.
- 56:17That's the best, Yeah. I hope that we're let's go viral
- 56:21with it. These old fogies decided they
- 56:25were going to do one of those shame mail letters.
- 56:27Yeah, start it up. Start.
- 56:28Oh man. And follow us.
- 56:32Yes, rate US. If you're listening on a podcast
- 56:35and you want to watch what we look like and see our facial
- 56:38expressions, which are sometimes epic, sometimes you can watch us
