- 0:30[SPEAKER_02]: doing well doing well uh yeah the draft is uh make it up on me uh it seems to come quicker this year i don't know you know we get we have to drama last week right at the it's as we were diving in you know so we had the soap opera of what's become filled with the Philadelphia Eagles football team
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, maybe that's it.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_00]: You would think, because the Super Bowl runs really take you deep into the offseason, it would seem to me this year, it seems quicker than last year.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, it's just the drama I guess, like you said.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: But we're getting there, and we're getting there quickly.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: And that's a good thing.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: Get to start talking about more football instead of,
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: the latest story arc on days of our lives.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_02]: What's your, what's your big thing there?
- 1:22[SPEAKER_02]: You know, speaking of that, just just wrapping all that up.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to dive into the draft pretty deep today.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_02]: We got some good conversations to talk position groups.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_02]: We'll talk defense, we'll talk offense.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_02]: We will talk.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_02]: Really, what it looks like here to kind of manage potentially an aging eagles team, you know, over a roster that might not be as dominant or as powerful today as it was, maybe even a year or two years ago.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_02]: So we will talk about that, how to replenish and regroup with all of that.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_02]: Jenna, it was listening to our buddies over at Inside the Birds podcast.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_02]: This is an Adam cap on Jeff Mosher on there.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_02]: And Adam cap, just to just to start on this real quick.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_02]: how he's talked to other coaches around the league who believed that Kevin Patula, while, while, while good coach was potentially too nice.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_02]: to coach jail in her.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_02]: It's now, I don't know exactly what that means.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_02]: Do you think Sean Manion's going to be too nice, John, because when I look at Sean Manion, he looks like a perennial nice guy, too.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_02]: Doesn't he?
- 2:24[SPEAKER_02]: He looks like a soft spoke and nice guy.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't know, but I do wonder if that's what I'm talking about.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: I hesitate with those things.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: Because Kevin's anybody of me, Kevin is like a really nice guy, like a really personal guy.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, right.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that plows their vision of what he is as a football coach, which, um, like I haven't met Sean yet.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know how he comes across.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: I do know he was a quarterback himself, so you would think there's some, some natural sort of leadership abilities, you know, pretty high level quarterback in college.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: So you would think that comes with it, same with Kellan Moore.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody thought Kellan Moore was,
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: the all-shocks guy, you know, the, you know, but behind the scenes, he was pretty, you know, concrete on what he wanted and what he expected and yada yada.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: So I, I don't know, you know,
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: But Kevin comes across as this tremendously likable person.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: So I think everybody just defaults him.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, he's too nice.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if he is too nice or not.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_02]: Well, is it nice or is it, you know, when you hire guys, John, that.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_02]: natural that don't have experience in the in the role like some other people do I think it's a natural part of you know just the the professional evolution that the growth curve the human you know element of it where maybe they don't feel like they have the gravitas like you talk about that all the time victims you don't give a rat ass.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_02]: 40 years later, he doesn't give a rat to ask what anybody has to say, what how he wants, what the players want, what the contracts are.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_02]: He's earned that right.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_02]: You know, now Nick, Nick maybe is a special personality, but I'm sure that's grown over the years as his stature, as his success, as all of those things have built.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_02]: He had first year coaches, you know, coach in a quarterback that's had pretty tremendous amounts of success in his first six years in the league, you know, maybe that creates a position where they don't feel as empowered to coach and correct if that makes sense.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not saying that's a situation, but I could see how that would become apparent.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, you know, the experience part of its real, it's interesting, you know, it would
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: 1995 and see Vic as as a first time coordinator, you know, and, you know, what what the difference is where I'm sure there were pretty stark differences, but so yeah, I mean, that's real the experience part of it that when you get to the level that big Pangeo is, but that's where I are for any coach.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_00]: kind of put him off to the side.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, with young coaches, they have to go through.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's growing pain.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: So like in any job, you get hired for any job.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: You're not, you know, what we were talking about earlier, what I've done 2,000 of these shows like cringe on the first one.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I mean, I did fix our, by the way, I did fix our podcast numbers.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I saw what happened.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: So what between, you know, football 24 and everything else, you know,
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: It's just more comfortable for you, but similar to Jalen Hertz.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: I think with Jalen Hertz, it's not about the coaches.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: I get it like everybody wants to blame the coaches, give the coaches credit.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: Kellen Moore tapped in, Kellen, it's like Jalen Hertz, every once in a while will let you in on his internal thinking, whether he does
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: And I want back, he talked about this is a paraphrasing, obviously.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: This is going to look the way Jalen Hertz wants it to look.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: He gave those interesting quotes about the new offensive coordinators.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_00]: And he wanted to build up that foundation and then sort of shift to what I like.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I think he came to the conclusion as everybody constantly, whether they want to make excuses for him, the excuse makers want to go.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: Seven all kinds of coordinators.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, the people that don't want to make excuses for him don't factor that into the equation.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: But I think from his standpoint is he knows what the setup is here.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: It's not going to be a long time with each offensive coordinator because either they're going to be successful and they're going to get hired elsewhere or they're going to fail and they're going to get fired.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: So he kind of knows he's the constant right.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think he's wrong.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: No, he's not.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: That's that's that's that's a complete valid thought process and you know, my biggest and again, I we don't know how this has happened.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: They're not even going to be on the field until May.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: You know, the all season program for them doesn't start until April 20th.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know what any of this is going to look like.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: I got a, you know, obvious it's going to look different in the spring in OTAs and many can.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: You know, because they're changing schemes and they're going to try to do this.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: But again, that doesn't mean one of the games come around.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: They're not going to scale back to what they've done best.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: which I think is what he goes fan should be hoping for.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what Jalen was talking about.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: All right, we'll try, but I think, and even I've slipped into this saying, he doesn't like under center.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't like motion.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't, he likes a lot of hitch routes.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: The better word I'm going to try to do it is he's uncomfortable.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: He's uncomfortable on your center.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_00]: He's uncomfortable with a lot of motion.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: He's uncomfortable.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't have pitch routes, a lot of hits routes.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: And there's not wrong with that.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: As there has been by their team success as Evan is by their team success.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: Now, if you want to above and you want to incorporate more and that's what they did last season.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: When they did go on their center, he didn't say, no, I'm not doing it.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: When they did use a little bit more motion, he didn't say, no, stop it.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: He tried it, but you have to realize that it doesn't work.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: And that lack of comfort turns into lack of effectiveness.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you'd be dumb to keep doing it.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_00]: And I think the Eagles know that.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, the longer term aspect of it is, you know, if you want to pound the square peg in the round hole, completely change them as a player, which I think is silly to even discuss, but I guess we're having that discussion.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not of the blaze that they're going to do that, John.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I hope not, but unless they truly feel as though the way in which they've won is completely expired,
- 10:00[SPEAKER_02]: more like you say, throw the baby out with the batball.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I guess it's possible.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: Doesn't make sense to me.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: They want a loving game's last year.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: If the offensive line was a monochem of healthy, they're up to 12 or 13, let's fair.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it just doesn't feel like that style of winning.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, and even you spoke about this, how hard it is to win that way
- 10:27[SPEAKER_02]: You need a lot to be perfect, you know, like, for example, last year, the offensive one, people talk about that.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_02]: You often talk about how we act like last year was a five one team or the Eagles do.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_02]: Well, people act like that offensive line was a bottom offensive line last year.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_02]: Now, they weren't eagle level, but they were not a bottom half of the league offensive line last year.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_02]: Why?
- 10:50[SPEAKER_02]: No, I agree.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_02]: You know, they were still very good past.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, so they were unable to even overcome that, you know, really to any level of, they did, they don't want to live in games in the end of the day off and really struggled and I think you know, they often thanks.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: But the authors know that the run game, you know, would buy that offensive one, which is why I said fix first down and I think they believe that and everything falls in the place.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, could be a good way to look at it.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: I think you're probably right about that or I think I think, you know, the simplest answers are usually the correct one.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think it is here picks first down and you're fine.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_02]: John on the coordinator changes obviously it's become a reality and then like you said something you just kind of have to accept at this point, but how much of a negative you actually view it on him and not not on him personally, but on how hard it is to.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_02]: You know, build continuity and development and all of those different things that I'll say people that that like jail and hurts, maybe give them a little bit of an excuse for that is their merit to that and how much of this is maybe a downside of having an exterior type of coach where you're going to have turnover obviously on the coordinators when you're successful.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_02]: You have Andy Reed, consistency with Patrick Mahomes.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_02]: You have even guys like Josh Allen, who's had consistency with, you know, his play caller in Joe Brady and Sean McDermott.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_02]: Now obviously changes there.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_02]: But, you know, how much of that do you use to say, yeah, it's gonna be harder for jail and hurts to really take steps forward, but that type of change every year.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_00]: a little bit, but I'm gonna, I'm gonna push back because chairman of self is push back, now that he's got an older and he realizes, you know, like one of the things I keep hearing when I listen to national shows and I shouldn't listen, but occasionally they come across the timeline and I want to clips, but I constantly hear of
- 13:14[SPEAKER_00]: Monge got seven different systems.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: He's got five different systems.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, bullshit.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: Since the exact same offense, but a little hiccup at the start when Nick first came in, they tried to implement a more traditional than week seven, whatever it was, week seven, week eight, they scaled it back.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_00]: And then the little four game stretch with Kell and more where they try to expand into something different and then they scale back everything else has been really similar really really really similar.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_00]: So you don't have this best.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you're going from this wacky scheme to this wacky scheme to this wacky see he's been the foundation.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_00]: that they built on and it's looked very, very similar.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_00]: Now, that doesn't mean it hasn't changed.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_00]: It hasn't evolved.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_00]: He's got better.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_00]: He's gotten what just says we said with experience with coaches.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: He's gotten more comfortable and he's gotten and he's done things better.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, last year, then really 2024, I think the risk of burns has gotten a little bit too much.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_00]: but it's been very similar.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, I mean, look, if you had the same guy for seven years in something similar, that just keeps evolving, that's the best case scenario, but for those who want to say, oh, it's different, it's different every year for this poor guy.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's exactly like some fucking offense.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_02]: So, and there's great players around them.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_02]: So, I don't like it as a full excuse either, but I do think there isn't degree in what you take away, you know.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know enough to tell you how much that is.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the field, it's like, you know, you use the band, yeah, the chemistry part of it, you know, you get to know each other.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_00]: If you have the same guy, that's, that all that is real.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_00]: And having that kind of upheaval hurts.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying that doesn't hurt at all,
- 15:30[SPEAKER_00]: the the the whole idea of they've had drastically different systems every year he's been the quarterback here it's just balls I mean how could anybody watch this team and say oh they're doing so many different things well I think I think the only thing John maybe to like the naked eye maybe somebody that's not as you know intelligent on the game or or as knowledgeable about the game as you would be like well the 22 offense wasn't the same.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_02]: Now it was very similar, but for example, they used a lot of RPOs.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_02]: They used a lot of that, you know, quarterback stuff that they don't really use that much anymore.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_00]: If at all, you know, and I think the wrong game part of it's a big problem, you know, because they, the RPOs stuff, like I said, had to do with the NFL hammering.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they kind of legislated it almost out of the game.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but yeah.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they still do it, but, you know, they get too many penalties.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_00]: excuse me.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_00]: They, you know, the lack of the the running impact in his position last year really hurt them.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_00]: And I think, you know, people want who always had challenge folders that the coach has called, it's at the organization's fault, it's collaboration, it's a little bit of everybody, but everybody's got to be on the same page there.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's got to be back.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_00]: got to be back.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I get it.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you're talking about shelf life.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_00]: Let's say it's the organization.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_00]: You're talking about shelf life.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_00]: Well, now you're talking about moving on in 2027 if he doesn't play well, because you fucked up this shelf life because he took the plus one at once.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_00]: You know, if it's just Jalen, we got to convince him and if he can't be convinced.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_00]: Then you got to start thinking about moving on.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_00]: But that's got to be part of it.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm sure the coach is real-life it.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not as worried about the coaches.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_00]: That's got to be part of it.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_00]: I agree.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_02]: I agree.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_02]: No doubt about it.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_02]: John, did you happen to catch the
- 17:46[SPEAKER_02]: The comment from Levante David, probably a future hall of fame, linebacker from the box talked about when they played David.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_02]: When playing niggles, we tried to make jail and hurts beat us.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_02]: What'd you make of that comment?
- 17:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's not.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's not pretty motely contrary.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: It shouldn't be.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: I know it was.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, yeah, a lot of teams going.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_00]: and say, you know, obviously that everybody was trying to stop sake on Barclay last year, you know, speech back and only when the Super Bowl was trying to stop sake on Barclay.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, most people go in the game saying, all right, you know, it's it's pick your poison, you know.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_00]: When, especially when Jailants having a good game, well, yeah, most teams would lean towards trying to stop others and saying, all right, let's make this guy beat us.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_00]: You know, that all Hawkins bet.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Tom Bowles has been the guy who basically came up with the plan
- 18:56[SPEAKER_00]: Early in his career, we're talking about 20, 21.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he was he had a playoff in Todd Bowles, and that's where LeBonte David speaking from.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that was Todd Bowles's whole game plan.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_00]: Make him beat you.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_00]: So that's where that comes from and and Tampa had some success leaders, well, so.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah, I mean, what would you try to stop the Eagles?
- 19:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no problem at the coming.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: But sometimes you see something like that, John, and people take it a certain direction.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_00]: So I won't tell you what they're going to take.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_02]: It's just respectful.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's why I like to get your opinion, because it gives a different perspective on it, which I think was a good one.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_02]: John, do you feel as though the Eagles coaches?
- 19:47[SPEAKER_02]: And when I say Eagles coaches, I mean, Nick Seriani here,
- 19:51[SPEAKER_02]: Do you believe they don't, they maybe don't trust Jalen Hertz as much as they should as a quarterback.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_02]: And what I mean by that is when the offense struggles or the run game struggled last year, it felt as though Nick never crossed the quarterback to put more in his hands to say, okay, take it over for me.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it feels like everything is all about the run game and that's kind of how they feel like they have to live and die.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_02]: And that there's maybe pros to that, but there also might be a way to look at it where Nick doesn't have the level of trust in this quarterback that some other coaches probably do when you talk about the better quarterbacks in the national football league is that off base.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_02]: How do you see that.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think it depends how you look at it.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, if you look at the two, if you look at the two plays, everybody brings up Seattle, end of game, green day, end of game.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_00]: Going off script, changing the play, then in the case of high level of autonomy in high-level situations.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_00]: So I think what you're talking about is letting him just air it out.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think people have to come have to have to come to Jesus moment.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_00]: He's not an air it out quarterback.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_02]: And it hasn't worked and they've made him that.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, there's a lot of turnovers in 23.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_02]: And then obviously to start at 24.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so I think it's, you know, building the offense around what the quarterback has done well.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_00]: My concern is they're shifting away from that, or at least the perception is.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_00]: and we'll see if they actually do it.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, those are end-of-game high-level situations where he has the power to go off script.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_00]: That's bad term, because it's all in script, because the all-of-books are built in, but he has the power to ship it.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_00]: Whereas as the head coach, you can go, just run the play, just give him one play.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_00]: Don't change it.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_00]: which they should have done in Green Bay to be honest and it worked out anyway.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_00]: They won the game, but you know, put them in a little bit of a precarious position.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_00]: Seattle, they lost the game because of it.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_00]: So I mean, there are there are coaches who will tell quarterback that and I'm sure it happens here occasionally.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're running this, you know, and obviously the most obvious situations are end of game, where you're just running the football and saying, you know, don't audible don't don't kill the play, just run it, we're draining clock.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_00]: Eagles call it no moss, so.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_00]: But now I mean, it's pretty clear he's gotten.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_00]: Overall, he's got a significant amount amount of autonomy.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_00]: But I just don't think he's, you know, they're never going to be an air it out team, which Alan Hurts, I've said that pretty consistently.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yep, that's where they are.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_02]: John one of the thing I wanted to get your thoughts on just if you had some, you know, intel for the people as a guy who's obviously been up close and personal with this team for many years.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_02]: CJ Gardner Johnson jumped to the defense of Jalen Hertz on X this week, you know, and he puts on now kind of cryptic it was like, uh, it's
- 23:28[SPEAKER_02]: This is deeper than y'all think or something.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not, I don't need to talk about that, but I wanted to ask you if there was anything between those players that you covering the team up close and personal saw or noticed about a relationship potentially between those two guys or maybe could shed light on what CJ might be talking about.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you don't know which is fine too, but if you saw anything, I hesitate to delve into the mind of CJ Gardener Jones.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_00]: But they're very close in the locker room.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_00]: Jalen has the first stall on the left when he walked into the Eagle slot.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_00]: Eagle's locker room for those, you don't know, is this big long thing.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_00]: So Jalen heard says the first locker on the left is quarterback's start.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_00]: And it goes all the way down.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_00]: the back, the back left is line backers.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_00]: And then it flips around the top right is defensive back.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_00]: So CJ had like the second or third locker.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_00]: So they're right across from each other.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_00]: If anything, the only thing I've ever noticed is occasionally jailing would get like,
- 24:47[SPEAKER_00]: Um, you know, CJ is very, we're a garious, let's say, and Jail is very understated.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_00]: Um, sometimes it seemed like he'd be like, all right.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go over here.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_00]: He wanted to get away from the noise.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_00]: Um, other than that, but like I said, I, you know, CJ CJ, he's going to.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_00]: He might say something different next week.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_00]: That's very true.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_00]: Very true.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_02]: Good stuff, everybody.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_02]: I want to thank everybody for being here.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_02]: This morning on Bird's 365.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_02]: We've got a super chat.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_02]: We will get to.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_02]: Don't forget to hit that like button.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_02]: Subscribe to the channel.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_02]: If you're not already.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate all the great viewers of Bird's 365 this morning.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_02]: Here's Brando shreds with top brando.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for the super chat, my friend.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_02]: And for being here this morning, he says this.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_02]: Jalen has also said, we got to stop playing not to lose.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_02]: After games they almost lost, is it really his willingness to throw or to Syriani take the air out of the football every game.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_02]: Which kind of was what I was trying to ask when it comes to the trust of Nick Syriani and Jalen.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_02]: John, your response to Brando shreds.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_00]: They definitely are run heavy ever since week four.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_00]: Sequon.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_00]: So I mean, yeah, they build that the offense is built around the running game in Sequon, Barkley.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_00]: It has been over the past two years.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_00]: And they got extremely risk of earth and it worked right up until it didn't work.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_00]: So it was understandable why they ran it back last year.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_00]: Why wouldn't you?
- 26:27[SPEAKER_00]: And then didn't work and they tried to ship the little bit, little bit more play action, a little bit more and that's where things started to go around with Jeff Stoutland, changed the running game a little bit.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_00]: They were trying to fix first now.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_00]: That's what they're trying to do.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_00]: And ultimately, I think that's what they're trying to do this year.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_00]: They're trying to be for all the talk about Sean Manney.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_00]: I wrote about this on SI earlier last week.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_00]: For all the talk, it's all passing game.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's all passing game.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's all passing game.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's here to fix the running game.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_00]: He's here to fix first down.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's that's that's maybe even a bigger, a bigger gamble than he's here to fix the passing game.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the running game has been pretty damn exceptional for the last decade.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you've talked about this.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_02]: They were a lead running game and they had Miles Sanders.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_02]: You know, last year they were not.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_02]: They had 41 negative runs from that point about the about the boy.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_02]: They need a lot to be perfect playing this way When the offense of the line comes in one minor step back to the back to somewhere closer to the middle of the pack and it's like Holy moly.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_00]: It's like hard to watch You know Well, it is because if first in 10 is second and 12 like nobody's overcome in second and 12 second and third and 12 consistently nobody
- 27:55[SPEAKER_00]: Like pick your favorite high volume quarterback.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody's overcoming that on a consistent level.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_00]: You have teams that can handle it better, no doubt about that.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_00]: But nobody, nobody is doing well in third and third team.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_00]: It's just not the way it works.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_00]: They're trying to fix first down and Nick sort of gave the little Easter game about everybody talks about Vic and he didn't say Vic but everybody talks about all the all the junk that the passing games sees and everybody's kind of used to that now because there's so many big copycats so it's still not saying it's easy but then he said this offense helps you fix all the junk we saw in the run game.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_00]: in a paraphrase.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_00]: That was a little Easter egg he jumped in there.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_00]: This better equips you for all that run blessing.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_00]: All the offset.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, we know Barclays offsets to the right.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_00]: He's not, he's not going around.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_00]: Jalen hurts to the other side.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_00]: So you're, you're what, what they did so well opposing defenses that they, they loaded the side he was offset to.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_00]: And all of a
- 29:23[SPEAKER_00]: And this style, they believe, better helps you deal with that junk, so to speak.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_00]: You think, say, Juan, right back for that?
- 29:37[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to see now all running backs would prefer to run with the quarterback under center because it gives them more options.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_00]: He's not the most patient runner, and that generally would be something you saw in Super Bowl with Walker, you know, somebody very patient succeeds at that kind of stuff.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll say, but he's definitely better under center.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, all running packs are better when the quarterback is under center to say more options.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_00]: But if you're offset, you're limited and that's what teams really picked up on and really
- 30:32[SPEAKER_00]: Um, took advantage of last season.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_02]: If John, if we live in a world real quick for that, that running game evolution or or the thought process of Sean Manion and this new offense, if it does work to the degree they're looking for what changes do you expect in the passing game.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_02]: Well, they change it up will it be more hit shrouds because that's what hurts like so do you expect a little bit more of that motion moving guys around things at that nature that that that that happens in those shenan and and make they offenses.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_00]: not to the level that they do it, but a little bit more, like that a little bit more with Kell and Moore, they had a little bit more last year than the year, probably a little bit more last year, even.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe maybe a check more, but not dramatic.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't say,
- 31:28[SPEAKER_00]: and a shitload of four birds, so prepare yourself for it.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_00]: But that's the nickname they've dubbed jail and right now is four birds, by the way, by the way, you know, that is a staple of every NFL offense.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_00]: That's this a hitch route.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_00]: These people are in scene.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_00]: Like, and I think it's so ironic because nobody has used four birds more successfully than the Green Bay Packers.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_00]: Now, because they had two Hall of Fame quarterbacks.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that doesn't mean every, you know, it doesn't mean every moment for that is the right moment.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_02]: And as you pull out, you don't want to run it.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, we are going to run it, you don't want to run it and condense spaces with, you know, quarters coverage.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, like I said, nobody.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_00]: There's a shit load of green bay plays where they're scoring in the red zone with four birds, a shit load of them.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_00]: Again, you're talking about Hall of Fame quarterbacks.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not talking about Jordan Love, but they still do it.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'm talking about Breath of our Ben Aaron Rogers.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_00]: They've been doing it for a long, freaking time.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, obviously if you know they're going to be in quarters, you're probably going to go to something else.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_00]: But
- 32:50[SPEAKER_00]: You know, the idea that it's this off the out of all the reservation, what it's like, what are you talking about?
- 33:03[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's a staple in every NFL office and hits your outs, my God.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_00]: But the issue is, a college quarterback, it's a college problem.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_00]: College can put quarterbacks, road open receivers.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_00]: That's what they're used to.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_00]: That's what they like.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, right.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what every quarterback would like.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_00]: In the NFL, you don't have open receivers all the time.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_00]: And when they are open, it's very small windows and just what's there.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_00]: We're very short time.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of college quarterbacks have trouble.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_00]: making that leap to the next level because they haven't done a lot of anticipatory throwing they haven't done a lot of throwing open you know you'll see some of the old school quarterbacks the the football will be out before the receiver makes this break maybe it's a corner around the football will be out before he starts even breaking you're throwing into a landmark
- 34:11[SPEAKER_00]: And that's why timing and everything is so important in the NFL, and it's the receiver's job to get to that landmark.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_00]: And you don't see that as nearly as much in the NFL, because that's not what college quarterbacks are good at these days.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_00]: And so Jalan Hertz is not exactly.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_00]: on his own when it comes to, you know, he would prefer one-on-one and throw it to the open guy.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_00]: And that's another thing because this is going to be pure progression in theory if you're doing shanaan and make bay, it's a pure progression system.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, he's going to have to go from one to two to three to four, which
- 35:11[SPEAKER_00]: is sort of overblown as well as we pointed out, you know, the smart quarterback's already rule out where they know the coverage is.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_00]: So there's a little bit of given tape with that, but it's something he hasn't been doing 100% of the time.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_00]: So that's a change as well if they're gonna go in that direction.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_02]: Good stuff there, appreciate Brando Shred.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_02]: John, good explanation.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_02]: Saw it up.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_02]: What's up, brother?
- 35:43[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate your super chat today.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_02]: All super chats go to the top.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_02]: Guys, just 16 days out from the 2021, 26 start of the NFL draft.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_02]: Saw it up says, when is the new OC actually going to have an introductory press conference?
- 35:59[SPEAKER_02]: Just wondering because he was hired a few months ago.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_02]: So I'll set up on wondering the same thing.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's not.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's not out of the ordinary, unfortunately, for the Eagles.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_00]: They've been doing this really, I mean, Kellan Moore wasn't introduced at OTA's.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_00]: Bacon, Kellan Moore, and Warren introduced.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_00]: They don't have to do it, so they don't do it.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_02]: Kind of a pain in the ass, though, isn't it?
- 36:25[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_00]: It's a pain in the ass.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody, as you hear from this,
- 36:32[SPEAKER_00]: you know, but they don't do it.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_00]: Team policy, other people do do it.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_00]: They don't have to do it.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_00]: They're not forced by the lead to do it.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_00]: He'll get introduced during OTAs, just like Kellon Moore and Vic Fangio, who were better in guys.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_00]: Now, there's some, you know, I pointed out
- 37:04[SPEAKER_00]: their their mentality is they don't want to answer in questions that he doesn't have per view over.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_00]: That's their thought process.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_00]: So in other words, and it happened to Chris and Parker, that's why I'm using it.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_00]: Chris and Parker got asked in Dallas, you know, you're going to bring in the Kobe Dean or you're going to bring in actually and it's like it's not his per view.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_00]: He's not the GM.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_00]: He's not he's not Jerry Jones and he's got to go up there and answer
- 37:33[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I think the Philadelphia writers are smart enough to not do that, but they don't trust everybody.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_00]: So, they do it the way they do it.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like it, but it's not abnormal.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_00]: They're not hiding in because he's a first year coordinator.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_00]: They've been doing this for years now, unfortunately.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_01]: They do it with back.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to do it everybody, and it's what it is.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_00]: So last one, who,
- 38:02[SPEAKER_00]: Good, a pretty quick press conference was Jim Swords.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_00]: That's how long it's been.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_02]: Wow, that was what?
- 38:12[SPEAKER_02]: 2016?
- 38:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_00]: That's how long it's been.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_00]: That's a long time.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_02]: It is what it is.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_02]: Let's keep rolling here.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_02]: Saw us it up.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks for the super.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks everybody for being here.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_02]: Good first segment there.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_02]: Johnny Mac, a little Jalen Hertz talk this morning on Bird 365.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_02]: We will now move into the 2026 NFL draft folks, which is 16 days away.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_02]: All right, getting closer to Eagle Stam right now with nine picks.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_02]: Four of those in the top 100 picks, which means day one and two.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_02]: We will see what Degos are able to do in those rounds.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_02]: Johnny Mac moving in, what's the latest in Eagle Land when it comes to the draft?
- 38:53[SPEAKER_02]: Any latest top 30 visits, anything you're hearing from the inside or from a source of yours about what the Eagles plans or thoughts are going into the draft?
- 39:04[SPEAKER_02]: What's the latest in Eagle Land is we're just 16 days out, Johnny Mac.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_00]: a couple of new 30 visits, which I think I mentioned one yesterday, a neat bore culture, the tight end from Texas A and M, so they're obviously heavy, heavily looking at tight end, so I'm going to try after one at some point.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_00]: Four churches regarded as more of a blocker, but he has some upside as a receiver didn't catch it that much at Texas A&M, but he would he would project to me as a day three guy.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_00]: But he's another guy, I think you can find this threat, this pretty deep, but tight end.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_00]: So you're going to be able to draft meaningful people on day three, and maybe he's in the mix there.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_00]: And then Traden Stooks, who's a defensive back from Arizona, he's interesting because typically, he seems like a typical Vic fangeo, safety prospect, played a lot of slot.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_00]: Some people project him as a corner, some people project him as a safety, I'm pretty sure Vic will project him as a safety.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_00]: And in ACL terror, I think in 2024, but it came back and played well.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_00]: So I would think he'd be another day three guy as well, potentially.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_00]: Not a premium pack, but very big fangeoish.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_00]: You can see in his sort of process.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_00]: The interesting thing about those two guys do, they're both older.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_00]: which is rare for the Eagles, so.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_00]: But they tend similar to Ty Robinson last year was an older prospect.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_00]: They'll draft an older guy on day three.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_00]: So I think I think those are day three potential prospects.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_00]: That's why my goal this offseason is they're they're called 30 visits.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_00]: Not top 30 visits even though everybody says top 30 visits.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_00]: My goal
- 41:22[SPEAKER_00]: They're not top 30 players.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_00]: You have 30 visits to the use.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_00]: And sometimes you want to come in and talk to somebody.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes you want to get better medical on people like Stooges maybe they wanted to check them out.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_00]: Where is he physically?
- 41:41[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, these seem to me as potential day three prospects.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_00]: More than anything else.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_00]: And then there was Mike Rice who covers the Patriots, Boston College, obviously very close to in New England.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_00]: Jude Bowery is scheduled to have a top 30 visit with the Eagles this week offensive line.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_00]: And so obviously
- 42:18[SPEAKER_00]: They're looking at a ton of offensive linemen for obvious reasons, but they got to start to repopulate.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_00]: So no surprise there.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_00]: Again, he's not a top-tier pick, but interesting.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_00]: How much I would say I'd like to look at themes when it comes to 30 visits and they're heavily looking at offensive linemen
- 42:48[SPEAKER_00]: potential safety things like that.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_02]: So I remember Ian Cummings talked about the Nate Nate boreculture here on the show.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_02]: So we did have some some intel on him from from me.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_02]: And that would be an interesting pick.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_02]: Definitely a later round guy.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_02]: Why does he probably be like around four type of guy?
- 43:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I would think so.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_00]: That's where it would begin.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_00]: And then you know, maybe even deeper but doubtful.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_00]: So I think they'll be able to get a good tight end
- 43:19[SPEAKER_00]: But it's probably a longer term prospect, but the good part of that is Dallas, got her tier this year.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_00]: So you don't have to find somebody who has to play.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_00]: Also, Ian Rappaport had an interesting thing this morning on Eli Stowers, because I know a lot of Eli Stowers fans out there.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of teams are looking at him as purely a receiver.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you've been saying that for a long time, too.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_00]: Um, he doesn't block at all.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_00]: So that's why I don't think he's a fit for the evils unless they want a big receiver.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_00]: You know, my Gemin's like receiver if they're trading AJ.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_00]: So a lot of balls in the air, but a lot of teams are looking at him as strictly strictly as a receiver.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_02]: Now the interesting, I'm maybe that's better for him.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe his agent's happy.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_02]: And again, he's got out of position well, so that would be a question for him, but that is interesting when it comes to the Eagles draft.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_02]: John, you've often talked this summer about the Eagles need to repopulate on offense.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_02]: They've drafted so much on defense, especially at the top of the draft in the last several years.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_02]: If we play out a scenario where the offensive
- 44:43[SPEAKER_02]: Let's just say, I guess, the tight, I don't think they're taking Kenyans to dig.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_02]: So I'd probably rule that out anyway.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, do you see a world where they might take an edge russia with that first pick?
- 44:53[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, just because of the way the board falls, do you think it's more likely they would do that?
- 44:58[SPEAKER_02]: Or would they trade out at that point if they didn't?
- 45:00[SPEAKER_02]: You know, because I'm trying to think of what offensive positions would they draft with that first pick?
- 45:05[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I know the first pick doesn't mean the whole draft, obviously, but that's the one that gets the most focus.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_02]: And we've talked about repopulated in the offense outside of offensive line.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_02]: What position would they really draft there on the offensive side of the ball?
- 45:21[SPEAKER_02]: To me, it feels like offensive line or plus.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_02]: So if they're gone, what do you see the pivot being for the Eagles?
- 45:28[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they could draft.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you take a look at somebody like Bowery, who they're going to visit.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_00]: He's not a first round pick, but he's got a high ceiling.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_00]: So he's very toolsy, so to speak.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_00]: So all of a sudden, if you, because they do need an ad Russia, if they can't get
- 45:55[SPEAKER_00]: John, I think we're in a hard trade for him or something of that nature or trade or you know put max cross be back of the whatever way you want to go.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_00]: And they can't get that player maybe there's an answer us here they would prefer I do think why receivers in the equation because remember how he knows what he's going to do with AJ Brown so.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_00]: when you're talking about what positions they could take, why receiver's still in that equation in the first round?
- 46:28[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I don't think they will, but it's certainly an opportunity.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think they would take a tight end and really there's only one in that's Kenyanshadiq, which a lot of people would like.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think they'd go to.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_00]: And don't tell any of you, Vega,
- 46:50[SPEAKER_00]: The Penn State kid and I'm only calling them big if I don't know how to pronounce this last name.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_00]: I'm guessing it's O'Anani, but whatever, some moment, yeah, I think he's the best offensive lineman in the draft.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think if he's a 23, they might take him.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I could see it.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_00]: And he's most people project him as a guard.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_02]: So would that be a guy that would potentially ride the pine in your one?
- 47:17[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_00]: I guarantee beat out Kylostein or, you know, planned in, isn't healthy.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_00]: He could just slot in for landing as well.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, he's really good.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_00]: Like, and he's my safest player of the draft.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_00]: Like, he's really good.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_00]: I guarantee he's gonna be a long time starter in this league.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_00]: So I, that wouldn't surprise, but now I don't think it'll be there at 23, but again, because he's not projected by most teams as a tackle, he might fall or that might be the guy you move up to get a little bit, not a long jump up the board, but how he's recent history is who go up and get a player.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_00]: So there's other options than just tackles and
- 48:14[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I do think it becomes down to like, you know, you look at the mock to rap industry, it's become a cottage industry.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_00]: I and Acca are seems to be the guy everybody's settling on.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_00]: Boy, I would, I would, that is, that is, you know, he's got a high ceiling as well, but I, I'd rather take somebody like Bowery later.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_00]: He's got a high ceiling.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, right.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not, I'm not, there's too much.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_00]: There's, and remember, you don't have, you know, I'm Jeff Stoutland anymore.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_00]: I had that, that when I talk about safe picks, that is not a safe pick.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_00]: And sometimes you have to roll the dice and he's got, and how he loves trades and he's got tremendous trades, but boy, that's, that's too much risk for me.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_00]: But, and I've said, when it comes to Edd's Russia, my problem with Edd's Russia and in mocking and Edd's Russia to the Eagles aside, just don't see the guy.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_00]: I don't see the guy they would want.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_00]: The closest one to me would be, Cashis Howell, from Texas A and M, yeah.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_00]: And, you're really out on Edd's door.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_00]: Man, I don't think they're taking the kid that old in the first round.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I agree, but my only thought process there
- 49:37[SPEAKER_02]: don't they need a guy for right now, you know, like some team if you're the browns or you're like, yeah, you're not going to take a 25 year old dude, but if you're the Eagles and your window is now, maybe that guy can contribute, you know, right out of the box for lack of a better word.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I've well, and that's the second thing.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know any of these guys.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_00]: I mean,
- 49:59[SPEAKER_00]: I said they need a centerpiece, they don't need another rotational guy, and that's why I think they need to go to the better and round the edge rusher, but if you can't get it done, you can't get it done.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_00]: Trayvon Walker just got an extension.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, my guy, I want to Trayvon Walker, but yeah, good for him.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_00]: So that's your minimum that you'd be.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_00]: That's the minimum Grinard would take.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_00]: The minimum.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_02]: And that was pretty low considering he was the first overall draft.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it would mean Jordan Davis got more than that.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_00]: So you say you have to give up 60 where are they picking?
- 50:46[SPEAKER_00]: Just Minnesota mess right now.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_00]: They don't even have a GM.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_00]: They have an interim GM.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe you take advantage of them.
- 50:55[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it might be the other side of that where they're they're they've been instructed as interim to not move any pieces without explicit approval from the owner.
- 51:04[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the owners are even worse.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, yeah, that's so maybe you could take advantage of them convince them to take us to 68th pick.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you don't want to give up the 54 so maybe you can get them to take the 68th pick.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_00]: So you have to give up 68.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_00]: And you.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_00]: You have to pay the guy at least $25 million.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_00]: Um, that's still pretty significant.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_00]: But I do it among the Eagles, um, just they need a centerpiece.
- 51:41[SPEAKER_00]: They don't need, they don't need a contributor.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_00]: That's, that's, that's my concern with, with, with edge rusher is that
- 51:54[SPEAKER_00]: To me, that could be different makers right away are going to be long gone and that's David Bailey and our bell Reese long gone.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_00]: Any other guys are like the Che J parkers, the mess of doors, the the folks, the house, yeah, you're better off waiting for Jake is her.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_00]: I, Ramello height, who they had in for 30 visit.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_00]: Mason Thomas Zion Young or Muzugai.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_00]: He's all over the board.
- 52:25[SPEAKER_00]: He might be a first round pick.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_00]: You might be a third round pick.
- 52:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, all the more from Michigan.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_00]: You know, those guys can contribute as well.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_00]: So what's what's the difference in my mind?
- 52:40[SPEAKER_00]: That's that's how I look at and the AJ stuff they need to receive anyway.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, if you love Omar Cooper,
- 52:54[SPEAKER_02]: take on Omar Cooper Jr. Yeah, like like the box did they they took uh they took the kid last year and and they still had Godwin and Mike Evans and now he's gonna have a bigger role going into your two.
- 53:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah yeah um now I wouldn't go that route but I'm saying so there's other options than just time.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think that'd be a bad route actually considering that even if JJ is to hear this year if JJ's here this year
- 53:23[SPEAKER_02]: Well, because the only reason I ask is because if the Eagles, like I saw it, float it out at the box or the not the box, the Patriots are unwilling to give a first round draft pick.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_02]: Well, even if the Eagles are unhappy with that, this year is going to be the most they're going to get in return.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, even if AJ has a great year next year, I don't envision I'm getting a getting big compensation back for the player.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to be 30 years old.
- 53:46[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't see it.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I feel like this is the time to maximize your return.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_02]: If that's the route they want to go with AJ Brown.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, most likely, I mean, he had talking pi in the sky.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_00]: If he goes back to being 1500 yards and everything works.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_00]: And he went to the roll again and who knows, then he's happy again.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_00]: Who knows, but if you're being realistic, yeah, this is likely the end of the road.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_00]: So, um, and how he, like I said, he might, he might have to go to 2028,
- 54:26[SPEAKER_00]: It's not going to be immediate, but he'll get it.
- 54:30[SPEAKER_00]: And it might even be conditional based on 28 and 2027.
- 54:33[SPEAKER_02]: You know, see, this is what, this is where this is a tricky situation.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_02]: Because most teams are, or many teams that will trade a good player, they can settle for picks in the future.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_02]: And in fact, it might even be the right move, and maybe it would be for the Eagles.
- 54:48[SPEAKER_02]: But they're in a win-now mode, John, like I'm, I'm in the camp of,
- 54:53[SPEAKER_02]: You know, less need, F.D.
- 54:55[SPEAKER_02]: and PIXMAN, we need a win right now.
- 54:57[SPEAKER_02]: This is our moment.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_02]: This is our window.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_02]: You know, now I'm not saying you have to neglect the future, but I want to capitalize on the now before I focus so much on the future.
- 55:11[SPEAKER_02]: Does that make sense?
- 55:13[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think from how he's supposed to, hey, you know,
- 55:18[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of uncertainty.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think this is a fucked-em-packs of years.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_00]: You know, maybe last year was a fucked-em-packs year.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_00]: When they were, I still think they have a chance to be a significant super bowl container, but there's a lot of moving parts this year.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of things they could get overall.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I don't think there are picks in terms of trade and I just meant in terms of, you need to match, you know, get yours.
- 55:45[SPEAKER_00]: One of the, and it's not about,
- 55:48[SPEAKER_00]: And see, I disagree with you.
- 55:50[SPEAKER_00]: 99% of the GMs, I'm going overboard, because there are, obviously, there's a few John Snyder just wanted to super bowl.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_00]: He's pretty much in how he territory.
- 56:06[SPEAKER_00]: Let's need, that's probably the only two, other than how he, if they wanted to, and I don't even know, plus need is there.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe just John Snyder.
- 56:18[SPEAKER_00]: how we can most DMs can't take future picks, don't consider future picks because they're not gonna be around, unless they're GM and further jobs, so to speak.
- 56:28[SPEAKER_00]: How we can do it because he knows he's gonna be here.
- 56:32[SPEAKER_00]: Heates that, heates when I bring it up or anybody brings it up.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_00]: Claims he's not on scholarship, but he is.
- 56:41[SPEAKER_00]: So, when you say, we'll give you a,
- 56:45[SPEAKER_00]: You can only go three years out because they didn't change the rules.
- 56:49[SPEAKER_00]: So if you say, I'll give you a 20, 28 first round pick, well, everybody's going to hang up the phone because they don't even know if they're going to be there in 20, 28.
- 57:01[SPEAKER_00]: So why did they care about getting a first round pick for somebody else?
- 57:07[SPEAKER_00]: That's why nobody does it and the Eagles do it.
- 57:12[SPEAKER_00]: So it's one of those areas where people say like you said what the Patriots are holding still.
- 57:18[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they're probably holding still until he brings up 128.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_00]: Or he puts a condition on it that's like ridiculously.
- 57:26[SPEAKER_00]: If AJ gets 800 yards, it turns into a first round pick.
- 57:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's what you did with Carson Wentz.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_00]: Turned into a first round pick.
- 57:42[SPEAKER_00]: It, it, you know, he has the luxury that others don't have any takes advantage of it because it's it's
- 57:52[SPEAKER_00]: From his standpoint, it's devalued because of the way everybody has to approach their job.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not a devalued asset.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_00]: Only people can consider it.
- 58:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, right.
- 58:03[SPEAKER_02]: But when he had a 31 GMs, you know, don't care about 20, 28 pegs, because they might not be there, you know, you're right.
- 58:10[SPEAKER_02]: It's easier to get him.
- 58:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 58:13[SPEAKER_00]: So he uses that and he manipulates that.
- 58:16[SPEAKER_00]: And he should.
- 58:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's a good thing.
- 58:18[SPEAKER_00]: You know, again, that's why I'm confident.
- 58:23[SPEAKER_00]: Might be 2028, but he'll get it.
- 58:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, fair enough.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_02]: Fair enough.
- 58:27[SPEAKER_02]: Here's Jason 18.
- 58:28[SPEAKER_02]: What's up, Jason?
- 58:28[SPEAKER_02]: Hope you're doing well.
- 58:29[SPEAKER_02]: I appreciate everybody for being here this morning.
- 58:31[SPEAKER_02]: Here's a draft question here for Jason 18.
- 58:34[SPEAKER_02]: Excuse me.
- 58:36[SPEAKER_02]: Is there a chance we are overlooking the fact Eagles might take a defensive tackle high?
- 58:41[SPEAKER_02]: Depending on the car situation on top of the Joe Moans last year, maybe they should.
- 58:46[SPEAKER_02]: Question mark.
- 58:48[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 58:50[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, no.
- 58:52[SPEAKER_00]: They're not taking it to fence.
- 58:53[SPEAKER_00]: So, hey, it's a bad defense of tackle draft.
- 58:56[SPEAKER_00]: Probably only one going in the first round.
- 59:00[SPEAKER_00]: And that's Peter Woods from Clampson.
- 59:05[SPEAKER_00]: And he's very risky pick.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't go near him to begin with, but very talented, but very risky.
- 59:22[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to sign Jalen Carter.
- 59:25[SPEAKER_00]: And if they don't sign Jalen Carter and they trade Jalen Carter for some big splash you move, they're going to sign Morojoma.
- 59:32[SPEAKER_00]: So, I mean, they're very deep at the fence of tackle.
- 59:35[SPEAKER_00]: And people give up on Ty Robinson too soon.
- 59:39[SPEAKER_00]: Too soon.
- 59:43[SPEAKER_00]: You know, and that was based on some of the goofy hype last year about Vanilla, Gorilla, and all that stuff.
- 59:50[SPEAKER_00]: doesn't mean he can't be a contributor.
- 59:53[SPEAKER_00]: They're, I mean, that's arguably their deepest position.
- 59:58[SPEAKER_00]: So, and it's a very weak defensive tactic.
- 1:00:01[SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't mean they can't track one later, you know, fifth fits, but certainly not at the top of the judge.
- 1:00:10[SPEAKER_02]: Good stuff, appreciate everybody being here chasing good super chat.
- 1:00:13[SPEAKER_02]: I think I don't think your thought process is way wrong.
- 1:00:16[SPEAKER_02]: I do wonder about the Jalen Carter situation.
- 1:00:19[SPEAKER_02]: They're here in the owner.
- 1:00:20[SPEAKER_02]: I'm of the belief they're going to pay him job, but.
- 1:00:23[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 1:00:23[SPEAKER_02]: That was a little bit.
- 1:00:24[SPEAKER_02]: That was a funny interaction there with Jeffrey Laurie on June card.
- 1:00:27[SPEAKER_00]: And I should have mentioned power and young as well, who proved he said pretty good rotational plot.
- 1:00:32[SPEAKER_02]: Now he's he's a we've been nice to have Thomas Booker who I think's a good player as well.
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_00]: That's all right.
- 1:00:38[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's why they traded Thomas Booker, because they felt they could.
- 1:00:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because I'm right now.
- 1:00:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to make a train now and say.
- 1:00:47[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you know, the hope is you had a dearth of cornerbacks and had a surplus of defense.
- 1:00:52[SPEAKER_00]: So it makes sense from the idea, but Jacorian Bennett didn't do anything.
- 1:01:00[SPEAKER_00]: So anytime you miss a value a player and it seems like they cast an interest in using it.
- 1:01:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it doesn't look like it works out, but from a logic standpoint, that is surplus of defensive tackles, and they needed a corner back.
- 1:01:15[SPEAKER_00]: So it made sense from that, but you got to get the player of the valuation, right?
- 1:01:22[SPEAKER_00]: Like where's Thomas poker playing?
- 1:01:30[SPEAKER_00]: You're not cutting Thai Robinson.
- 1:01:32[SPEAKER_00]: Now, would he be better in the Thai, right?
- 1:01:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, but to the people of the meritocracy people, you're not cutting your fourth round pig.
- 1:01:39[SPEAKER_00]: Just doesn't happen.
- 1:01:42[SPEAKER_00]: So there was no spot for him.
- 1:01:49[SPEAKER_02]: All right, good stuff there.
- 1:01:50[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate everybody for being here this morning.
- 1:01:52[SPEAKER_02]: We will see what they end up doing at that position.
- 1:01:54[SPEAKER_02]: Jason, good super chatting.
- 1:01:55[SPEAKER_02]: It's something to keep an eye on as to jail and court of situation.
- 1:01:58[SPEAKER_02]: We will find out what they end up doing there.
- 1:02:01[SPEAKER_02]: John, when it comes to offensive line, and if we've talked a lot about the offensive line and the NFL drafts, I'm looking at the big board.
- 1:02:08[SPEAKER_02]: It does seem like there is a drop.
- 1:02:10[SPEAKER_02]: a drop in terms of once you get past a certain threshold, it's going to be later round picks now and I might be reading that a little bit wrong, but where is that threshold to you out like in terms of if they're going.
- 1:02:25[SPEAKER_02]: They're going to change their thought process or or push to it, they get it.
- 1:02:32[SPEAKER_02]: Is it max, I think, or I think, I think, Blake is the last one, you know, then you have Jennings Dunker, Caleb Tiernan, Brian Parker, Austin, Barbara Cage, Casey, I say, what those guys are all second, third to your guys.
- 1:02:43[SPEAKER_02]: I would imagine.
- 1:02:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I would think I would think, Tiernan is pretty high level to your two guys.
- 1:02:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and then you drop off to the Austin barbers of the world.
- 1:02:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:03:02[SPEAKER_00]: Anything Jennings Dunker comes in.
- 1:03:04[SPEAKER_00]: Why I think he's more of a guard.
- 1:03:07[SPEAKER_00]: So a lot of that, you know, do you have like guys are going to project guys at a certain position like Tylerstein?
- 1:03:16[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think, you know, he's a college tackle that was projected to guard.
- 1:03:22[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I don't think there's too many teams that are looking at, uh, Jennings Dunker is a tackle.
- 1:03:29[SPEAKER_00]: Um, you could play it if you, you know, and, and, and an emergency situation, but I think anybody drafted him and he's a good player and he's going to get drafted.
- 1:03:41[SPEAKER_00]: Day two, um, but I think anybody drafted him is drafted him to be a
- 1:03:53[SPEAKER_00]: And then Pragnon is a guard in most people's eyes.
- 1:03:57[SPEAKER_00]: The kid from Oregon, Chase, Basson is from Texas A&M, guard.
- 1:04:03[SPEAKER_00]: So when you look at tackle, to me, the players, and I'm keeping fan of a tackle for now, a lot of teams are looking at him as an interior player.
- 1:04:18[SPEAKER_00]: But I'll keep him there because he's so good.
- 1:04:23[SPEAKER_00]: So you have Maui yoga, you have Proctor, you have Fano, you have low move, they two Utah kids, yeah, and I'm not doing this in order.
- 1:04:31[SPEAKER_00]: You have Blake Miller, Monaro Freeling, Mike O'Topten now, and Max I and Acor.
- 1:04:39[SPEAKER_00]: They could all be potential first rompics.
- 1:04:42[SPEAKER_00]: Most of them will be.
- 1:04:47[SPEAKER_00]: Depending on the I and Acor stuff is elite hype,
- 1:04:52[SPEAKER_00]: depending on it's real or not, he could slip into the second round.
- 1:04:56[SPEAKER_00]: I would not take him up on the Eagles.
- 1:04:58[SPEAKER_00]: But hey, I don't want to take that kind of risk.
- 1:05:03[SPEAKER_00]: And I might even take Tyrannin more than I an accurate.
- 1:05:06[SPEAKER_00]: I really would.
- 1:05:07[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, really that route.
- 1:05:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think he's like a North West American.
- 1:05:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think he's boomer boss.
- 1:05:15[SPEAKER_00]: I like I think it's a very high bus potential there.
- 1:05:21[SPEAKER_00]: Whereas somebody like Tyrannin is going to be a starter starting right tackle and a pretty good one.
- 1:05:36[SPEAKER_00]: You know, so if you want value, you know, fake that kid in a second round.
- 1:05:46[SPEAKER_00]: And he can say, and then he piece a second round, pick your like, Cam Jurgen's, nobody had it.
- 1:05:50[SPEAKER_00]: Well, some people will have a problem because some people have a problem with Cam Jurgen's sitting.
- 1:05:55[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, city year behind Lane Johnson, then you got some six foot eight, 330 pound monster ready to go.
- 1:06:08[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, Cooper does this job.
- 1:06:12[SPEAKER_02]: As you're, as you're, I don't want to use to work confidence because I don't think that's the way you view it, but what is your thought process on the change, obviously, to offensive coach position?
- 1:06:23[SPEAKER_02]: You know, obviously, you know, Cooper has to manage, but did you lose a sense of the ego's know what to do when it comes to drafting offensive linemen without a guy like Jeff Stouton in the building?
- 1:06:34[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, something you mentioned here, just a minute ago, teams project whether
- 1:06:40[SPEAKER_02]: I would imagine Jeff Stowell was pretty good at things like that.
- 1:06:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm more concerned with the offensive line coach of the job than the run game coordinator aspect of the job with Stowell and I'm way more concerned about the offensive line coach, part of it.
- 1:06:58[SPEAKER_00]: And more about the day to day development and technique and all that kind of stuff, because it's not only about the guy you're going to draft this year, you already have a bunch of young guys here that could develop may not develop.
- 1:07:12[SPEAKER_00]: You got inside you got true candle you got willy lamp in you got Jake majors outside you got Camblym's you got Miles Hinton you got Holland Pierce.
- 1:07:23[SPEAKER_00]: And they signed another kid John of Juquo.
- 1:07:29[SPEAKER_00]: And what's I don't know much about having, you know, seen them yet, um, but I'm, I'm, I'm more concerned about that part of it, I have the development, I'll part of it and the run game coordinator part of it.
- 1:07:49[SPEAKER_00]: Because he didn't want to run this, you know, this running scheme.
- 1:07:52[SPEAKER_00]: So I mean, what are you going to do now?
- 1:07:53[SPEAKER_00]: You got to go.
- 1:07:54[SPEAKER_00]: You want to understand it and at least it's going to implement because that's just about implementing the concepts and that is up to the offensive coordinator and all that kind of stuff in the head coach.
- 1:08:09[SPEAKER_00]: So a much more concerned about the offensive line part of his impact than the
- 1:08:19[SPEAKER_00]: And it's going to it's you know Chris Cooper's going to be under a lot of pressure because he's replacing a legend and he's got all these young players that he's got to develop and some of you know I mean.
- 1:08:32[SPEAKER_00]: You don't expect day three players to hit but it'd be nice if you get one or two to be at least competent backups and I know the Eagles were high on Drew Kendall.
- 1:08:47[SPEAKER_00]: Last year and I know after seeing them in week 18 and we're high on camera once now he's got to get stronger.
- 1:08:55[SPEAKER_02]: And we'll see what he has done in the all season, but you know, I get a secret, yeah, I got a secret for everybody if land and Dickerson and Cam Durgens.
- 1:09:08[SPEAKER_02]: those guys play better.
- 1:09:11[SPEAKER_02]: Chris Cooper will have a successful year.
- 1:09:13[SPEAKER_02]: That's true.
- 1:09:14[SPEAKER_02]: If they don't play better, I don't know if I thought it was a super might be blown out at the end of the year and it might not even be his fault.
- 1:09:21[SPEAKER_02]: But that's how it will go.
- 1:09:23[SPEAKER_02]: So we will say, I do wonder about the drafting of players.
- 1:09:26[SPEAKER_02]: That's where I think it is going to be a difference because you're talking about a guy who comes into the league for the first time and now has, you know, a different offensive line coach.
- 1:09:34[SPEAKER_00]: So that's
- 1:09:38[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think Chris Cooper's going to be as involved with drafting as Jimmy involved at all, you know, but I think he's going to be the first guy to get his hand.
- 1:09:48[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to be that far and I'm sure how he will take into account, but he's not going to have a big impact.
- 1:09:55[SPEAKER_00]: So don't blame Chris Cooper for the draft picks.
- 1:09:59[SPEAKER_00]: I'll tell you that right now, not his ball.
- 1:10:04[SPEAKER_02]: Well, excuse me, he is the first guy getting his hand on John and to coach him up.
- 1:10:09[SPEAKER_00]: So, well, I mean, the immediacy, the people saying, oh, he stinks.
- 1:10:14[SPEAKER_00]: You know, when he gets drafted, whomever gets drafted, I'm saying the immediacy.
- 1:10:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, obviously when he gets his hands on him, it's his job to develop them the best way possible.
- 1:10:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'm saying on draft night, if you don't like the pick and it's an offensive line, and don't blame Chris Cooper, that's all I'm saying.
- 1:10:35[SPEAKER_02]: fair enough.
- 1:10:36[SPEAKER_02]: Good segment there.
- 1:10:36[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate everybody being here.
- 1:10:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to continue on draft talk with switch over to the other side.
- 1:10:41[SPEAKER_02]: Don't forget to hit that like button today.
- 1:10:42[SPEAKER_02]: Guys, appreciate all you guys being here.
- 1:10:44[SPEAKER_02]: Big thanks to Fritz and being coolies law firm for sponsor and birds 365 today and all year long.
- 1:10:49[SPEAKER_02]: We appreciate them and Brian Fritz, one of the best attorneys in Philadelphia and just in all our great guys.
- 1:10:55[SPEAKER_02]: Well, so appreciate Brian Fritz appreciate the Fritz and being coolie law firm.
- 1:11:00[SPEAKER_02]: John, let's switch over here
- 1:11:04[SPEAKER_02]: defensive side of the ball and we take a look at this defensive side and I think safety obviously edge rusher is a big conversation here.
- 1:11:14[SPEAKER_02]: You've talked about the Eagles desire and also not only not only you've talked about it, but how he rosemen has talked about it, take it from the man himself that they need to re-tool the offense.
- 1:11:24[SPEAKER_02]: Well,
- 1:11:25[SPEAKER_02]: Where is the defense coming to play here John in the draft they have four picks in the top 100 is it one of those picks is it zero of those picks how do you see the Eagles managing that because they do have more holes I would say on the defense right now than they do on the offense that's not to say they don't need to recoup the offense but.
- 1:11:47[SPEAKER_02]: safety, edge russia, you know, it does feel like there's more spots there on defense to potentially improve or get an immediate impact type of player.
- 1:11:58[SPEAKER_02]: Where do you seem going?
- 1:11:59[SPEAKER_02]: How do you see him handling the defensive side of the ball when it comes to the NFL draft?
- 1:12:05[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think, you know, I always say day three is anybody.
- 1:12:11[SPEAKER_00]: It's just take the best player on your board, gunman or offense defense, not position.
- 1:12:15[SPEAKER_00]: You're just looking for a guy,
- 1:12:18[SPEAKER_00]: and how he's mine that has traits in his body.
- 1:12:21[SPEAKER_00]: I'll use the how he phrasing to make them potential starters down the road.
- 1:12:28[SPEAKER_00]: He tells us people, you know, I can get backups, just find me starters.
- 1:12:36[SPEAKER_00]: So they're always shooting for the stars on day three.
- 1:12:39[SPEAKER_00]: So that's about upside and
- 1:12:43[SPEAKER_00]: who could develop and who has the ceiling.
- 1:12:46[SPEAKER_00]: On those, if you're keeping all four of those picks, I would say probably one is gonna be on the deep on subside, most likely at your usher.
- 1:12:57[SPEAKER_00]: But again, you know, somebody, you know, somebody's there, you like, and you think it's gonna be a really good player.
- 1:13:05[SPEAKER_00]: You go that direction, you're not slavish to the idea
- 1:13:12[SPEAKER_00]: that you need even, even though how he has stated it, they need to start drafting more offensively.
- 1:13:20[SPEAKER_00]: You're not, you're not, it's, it's players are not there that you want like 23 overall and you're forced to take that pick.
- 1:13:30[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you're not going to just take max ion anchor, ion anchor, if, if you don't like it, you know, you have to pivot.
- 1:13:39[SPEAKER_00]: And that might be edge rush.
- 1:13:43[SPEAKER_00]: And that might ship the whole equation.
- 1:13:46[SPEAKER_00]: I don't see that at-rushers.
- 1:13:48[SPEAKER_00]: I've said pretty consistently.
- 1:13:51[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe Ruben Bane because of his tiny arms, maybe if you falls.
- 1:14:02[SPEAKER_00]: You know, and they say, wow, this guy's too good.
- 1:14:07[SPEAKER_00]: We don't care.
- 1:14:09[SPEAKER_00]: that he doesn't have that, let's just take him.
- 1:14:12[SPEAKER_00]: You know, weird things can happen in the draft.
- 1:14:15[SPEAKER_00]: Cause again, you're dealing with 31 other teams that have different ideas on different players and different spots.
- 1:14:23[SPEAKER_00]: So a lot of uncertainty happens.
- 1:14:28[SPEAKER_00]: But if you're playing the odds, I would say three at a four are gonna be offense.
- 1:14:39[SPEAKER_00]: But that's just an odd play.
- 1:14:42[SPEAKER_02]: Fair enough.
- 1:14:42[SPEAKER_02]: Good stuff there.
- 1:14:43[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see what they do on defensive side of the ball.
- 1:14:45[SPEAKER_02]: What do you think John is the biggest pressing need right now?
- 1:14:47[SPEAKER_02]: Is it edged rush or on the defensive side of the ball?
- 1:14:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:14:51[SPEAKER_02]: I think so.
- 1:14:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think they could make do with safety be it partially because of big scheme.
- 1:14:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and need to partially because we already saw Marcus Seps last year was okay.
- 1:15:04[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't great.
- 1:15:06[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you want to get better.
- 1:15:07[SPEAKER_00]: They think Michael Carter can do it.
- 1:15:11[SPEAKER_00]: Who's a better and player.
- 1:15:12[SPEAKER_00]: I think he could at least make do it.
- 1:15:17[SPEAKER_00]: And they might have the best
- 1:15:21[SPEAKER_00]: holds up and that'll help the safety's.
- 1:15:30[SPEAKER_00]: So I think they can make do that safety.
- 1:15:35[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if right now, you know, he drag proved the roster and right now if you had to play a game today, you have Nolan Smith, you have Jalex Hunt, you have Arnold,
- 1:15:48[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you could, you could roll that group out in a game and unabarice yourself.
- 1:15:54[SPEAKER_00]: But I think as you saw at the start of last season, they need the headline or they need the centerpiece.
- 1:16:03[SPEAKER_00]: And that's where Jail and Phillips would have fit.
- 1:16:06[SPEAKER_00]: That's why they wanted to back.
- 1:16:08[SPEAKER_00]: And I know all of a sudden, that's pretty good.
- 1:16:12[SPEAKER_00]: Jail and Phillips Nolan Smith, Jailix Hunt, our old evocation is pretty sink and good.
- 1:16:19[SPEAKER_00]: Now, if it's Jonathan Grinard, Nolan Smith.
- 1:16:22[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's one a little quiet that tray, but that might be just because of the time of the year we're in.
- 1:16:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, as you get closer to the draft and draft night, if Grinard's getting traded, he's getting traded on draft night or before slightly before.
- 1:16:41[SPEAKER_00]: because Minnesota won't will want to pick.
- 1:16:45[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, that's pretty good.
- 1:16:48[SPEAKER_00]: If you can pull off that trade, the group.
- 1:16:53[SPEAKER_00]: So there are different ways to do it, but they need a headline on the past, Russ.
- 1:17:01[SPEAKER_00]: And that's pretty obvious.
- 1:17:02[SPEAKER_02]: Do you think, do you think we're right and off-known Smith may be a little too quick, John?
- 1:17:07[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I'm not writing them off, but I mean, I do think that you're not writing them off, but it seems like we're writing them off as a headline, as you just said.
- 1:17:15[SPEAKER_02]: You know?
- 1:17:15[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah, I don't think I don't think you can count on them.
- 1:17:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, to be a headline or but I think he's a very good player.
- 1:17:23[SPEAKER_00]: Ironically, because of his size, I think he's a better run defender.
- 1:17:27[SPEAKER_00]: He's unbelievable, set in the edge.
- 1:17:32[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, that's part of the physical
- 1:17:36[SPEAKER_00]: and being 238 pounds or whatever he is.
- 1:17:43[SPEAKER_00]: Part of the reason he gets hurt, you know, you're you're mulling with 330 pound tackles and all of a sudden you tear your triceps.
- 1:17:57[SPEAKER_00]: things like that happen.
- 1:17:59[SPEAKER_00]: No, I don't think he can be a headline or I don't think he could be a top tier, a number one pass, Rosha.
- 1:18:07[SPEAKER_00]: What I mean, it was the 30's pick in the draft, he really expected from the 30's pick in the draft.
- 1:18:12[SPEAKER_00]: That's like a top 10 guy, you know, and guys, I think most people do, he had to answer your question.
- 1:18:19[SPEAKER_02]: And it doesn't mean the right, but I do think they do 30's pick first round.
- 1:18:22[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I, you know, that's what they want, I think they want that guy to pan out.
- 1:18:25[SPEAKER_02]: They want that guy to be a headline or.
- 1:18:28[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, I think I already, like, if Nolan Smith never plays, I look at it differently.
- 1:18:37[SPEAKER_00]: If he never plays another game again for the Philadelphia Eagles, which is not going to happen, it's already a successful pick.
- 1:18:46[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, is, is Ron at the end of 2024 and in the playoffs was unbelievable.
- 1:18:52[SPEAKER_00]: Already a successful pick.
- 1:18:55[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, yeah, people have those expectations.
- 1:18:58[SPEAKER_00]: He's the first round pick.
- 1:18:59[SPEAKER_00]: Joe Tron was the 32nd pick.
- 1:19:01[SPEAKER_00]: Like I say over time.
- 1:19:03[SPEAKER_00]: I mean.
- 1:19:04[SPEAKER_00]: Look, he will forever be a first round pick.
- 1:19:07[SPEAKER_00]: He was a first round pick.
- 1:19:09[SPEAKER_00]: One of my other pet peeves.
- 1:19:10[SPEAKER_00]: So when people say former first round pick, no, you're always a first round pick.
- 1:19:14[SPEAKER_02]: Did you see what I sent you the other week?
- 1:19:16[SPEAKER_02]: The Eagles put out, I'm like, John, you're fighting an uphill battleman.
- 1:19:19[SPEAKER_02]: Even the official Eagles notification, I forget who it was, I know I sent you.
- 1:19:25[SPEAKER_02]: When they signed,
- 1:19:26[SPEAKER_02]: when they saw him.
- 1:19:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they said former first one.
- 1:19:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they said former.
- 1:19:30[SPEAKER_00]: I said, well, I know, I bet, but that's some, you know, that's some intern in the social, who has no idea.
- 1:19:37[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I'm just saying that's what the most people consume.
- 1:19:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:19:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so most people consume, which is where it comes from.
- 1:19:43[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just saying, if you're in this industry and have a good editor and most people don't have editors anymore.
- 1:19:50[SPEAKER_00]: So they probably don't have
- 1:19:56[SPEAKER_00]: if you want to get it you're going to get ripped for stuff like that.
- 1:19:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:20:00[SPEAKER_00]: He was a 20 Joe Trine was a 2021 first round pick, but even my point is, my, my, my large point with Joe Trine is he wasn't supposed to be a first round pick that year, but, you know, Tampa Bay wins the
- 1:20:24[SPEAKER_00]: We got some, you know, goodwill in the bank.
- 1:20:28[SPEAKER_00]: Let's take a shot.
- 1:20:31[SPEAKER_00]: And, but now he's a person on pick.
- 1:20:34[SPEAKER_00]: So the expectations are elevated, and obviously they didn't live up to them.
- 1:20:42[SPEAKER_00]: So he's too spots open Nolan Smith, you know, it's like, and Nolan's a little bit different because he was expected to be a first round pick.
- 1:20:49[SPEAKER_00]: Some people even had the Eagles taking him away up at the top of the draft.
- 1:20:53[SPEAKER_00]: There was a lot of uncertainty about where we'd go because of the lack of size, but everybody knew it was a good player.
- 1:21:03[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not comparing the player wise, but just from the first round, pedigree wise,
- 1:21:10[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, if you're expecting that at a 30th overall peak, headlining past Russia, you probably, you know, you probably got to temper yourself.
- 1:21:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, I'll give you some data here that would maybe back up what you're saying.
- 1:21:27[SPEAKER_02]: And then one, one counter, Miles Garrett was the number one overall pet.
- 1:21:32[SPEAKER_02]: Aiden Hutchinson was the number two overall pick.
- 1:21:35[SPEAKER_02]: Michael Parsons was the number 12 overall pick.
- 1:21:38[SPEAKER_02]: Will Anderson Jr. was the number three overall pick.
- 1:21:43[SPEAKER_02]: How about this name, John?
- 1:21:45[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe the next cross, we was like a fourth round pick.
- 1:21:49[SPEAKER_02]: Well, what do we have about this pick here?
- 1:21:51[SPEAKER_02]: This might be the exception more than the rule.
- 1:21:54[SPEAKER_02]: TJ watt drafted 30th overall.
- 1:21:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's Berg Steelers.
- 1:22:00[SPEAKER_02]: And well, Smith turned into TJ watt.
- 1:22:03[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think so.
- 1:22:05[SPEAKER_00]: No, I don't think so.
- 1:22:06[SPEAKER_00]: And there's other tray Hendricks in was not a top-tier pick.
- 1:22:10[SPEAKER_00]: Max was not.
- 1:22:12[SPEAKER_00]: Daniel Hunter was a third round pit.
- 1:22:13[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it happens, but I'm saying the expectation is not realistic.
- 1:22:22[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, Tom Brady, we know.
- 1:22:24[SPEAKER_00]: Tom Brady was 199.
- 1:22:27[SPEAKER_00]: Jason Calcic, it happens, but you can't expect it to happen.
- 1:22:34[SPEAKER_00]: Um, that's all guys developing guys.
- 1:22:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:22:40[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's easier to find.
- 1:22:43[SPEAKER_00]: The mosque, Arizona, we're all in the Aden Hutchinson's little world at number one or number two.
- 1:22:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:22:50[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's easier to find.
- 1:22:51[SPEAKER_00]: We'll have to send the top 10.
- 1:22:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's easier.
- 1:22:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's.
- 1:22:55[SPEAKER_00]: You know, this year it's David Bailey and our real race, they're going to be top 10 picks.
- 1:23:01[SPEAKER_02]: Do you think now David Bailey and our Voveries are obviously both very good players and they're going to go to the top?
- 1:23:07[SPEAKER_02]: Do you feel like they have the chance to be one of the names I just mentioned as a top, top pick like that?
- 1:23:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but I still think it's unlikely me to because obviously becoming one of those players is, you know, and it's own right unlikely.
- 1:23:22[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not the best year at the top.
- 1:23:24[SPEAKER_00]: I said, I only have two blue chip players, which is.
- 1:23:28[SPEAKER_00]: I'm surprised you don't have Bailey is a blue chip now, because I don't.
- 1:23:32[SPEAKER_00]: Blue chip means blue chip to me.
- 1:23:35[SPEAKER_00]: I used to have this argument with with Jodi, I would say.
- 1:23:39[SPEAKER_00]: You know, however many baseball teams are on now, I think 30, whatever.
- 1:23:46[SPEAKER_00]: So by definition, you have 30 number one starters, but you don't really have 30 number.
- 1:23:51[SPEAKER_00]: There's like a finite amount of ACEs, true ACEs might be 10, might be 12.
- 1:23:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's not 30, but somebody's got to be a number one.
- 1:24:01[SPEAKER_00]: And that's why I say, you know, most years,
- 1:24:07[SPEAKER_00]: And well, it's that we're going to have Devin Jackson back on Thursday, we got to get Ian back as well, and I should have asked in this by now, how many real first round picks are there?
- 1:24:18[SPEAKER_00]: And by real, I mean, how many people should go in the first round?
- 1:24:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, usually about 16 or 17 usually in a good year.
- 1:24:26[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even know if it'll be that high.
- 1:24:29[SPEAKER_00]: And then how
- 1:24:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's love, and it's scale of downs.
- 1:24:38[SPEAKER_00]: Interestingly, at two positions that are typically not valued, at least at the top of the draft, by NFL teams.
- 1:24:51[SPEAKER_00]: So that factors into it.
- 1:24:55[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of people put sunny styles.
- 1:24:57[SPEAKER_00]: Ian put sunny styles in there.
- 1:25:00[SPEAKER_00]: A high state might have three first top 10 picks, by the way.
- 1:25:06[SPEAKER_00]: Because I could see down sneak in in the top 10, and I think actually four, they're not going to be four, but they can be down going to one of the NFC East teams.
- 1:25:18[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, our real reason and sunny styles are going top 10, like I'm very confident.
- 1:25:38[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, but as far as true slam dunk blue chip players, I think there's only two of them.
- 1:25:46[SPEAKER_00]: And then real first rounders, I got love.
- 1:25:51[SPEAKER_00]: I'm looking at my list.
- 1:25:52[SPEAKER_00]: I got love.
- 1:25:53[SPEAKER_00]: I have Bailey, Caleb Downs, Argo Reese, the kid from Miami.
- 1:26:08[SPEAKER_00]: So what are we up to?
- 1:26:09[SPEAKER_00]: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, sunny styles, mansored lane from LSU, the corner, Carnell Tate, Tyson, even though I don't like them, Jordan Tyson.
- 1:26:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, my huge fan either.
- 1:26:30[SPEAKER_00]: I think Proctor's a legit legitimate first round pick.
- 1:26:39[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, I'm not counting, but in the old blue chip, she got her love and who's your second one down?
- 1:26:44[SPEAKER_00]: No, I don't even have him, he's the safest, but I don't even have him in blue chip.
- 1:26:54[SPEAKER_02]: No, you only have two blue chips, right?
- 1:26:56[SPEAKER_02]: You have love and who's your second one?
- 1:26:58[SPEAKER_02]: Was it down?
- 1:27:00[SPEAKER_00]: Ah, yeah, turn my love, tell up, down, and I think the safest
- 1:27:09[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, and I mean, I think it's a real first round pit.
- 1:27:18[SPEAKER_00]: Me and me too, I like him.
- 1:27:20[SPEAKER_00]: Um, see, jail.
- 1:27:22[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even think for an end of Bendoza's.
- 1:27:27[SPEAKER_00]: I don't.
- 1:27:29[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they just pay care cousins.
- 1:27:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, it's not going to work because they're a bad team, but the best case scenario for them is Kirk's face health in place.
- 1:27:40[SPEAKER_02]: Why am I, Kirk, cause it's guy freaking love, because she listened to the show.
- 1:27:43[SPEAKER_00]: I love Kirk, cause I love, I've always liked Kirk, cause it's been good quarterback.
- 1:27:48[SPEAKER_00]: Now, the problem is, he's got the best agent in the world, too.
- 1:27:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's got out to Mike McCartney, who if he's listening.
- 1:27:58[SPEAKER_00]: What an agent.
- 1:27:59[SPEAKER_00]: But Kirk Cousins is now surpassed as the highest paid football player of all time.
- 1:28:04[SPEAKER_00]: And he has had guaranteed fully guaranteed money since the day he's signed with the Vikings, every single year, full guarantees, unbelievable, Mike McCarthy, business hall of favor.
- 1:28:27[SPEAKER_00]: And he does a great stick on X.
- 1:28:30[SPEAKER_00]: If you follow Mike, I do.
- 1:28:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he, everybody confuses him with Mike McCarthy.
- 1:28:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's back when Mike, but, and Mike's back in the league, Mike McCarthy.
- 1:28:39[SPEAKER_00]: So it'll be, you'll see people screaming at him on X.
- 1:28:44[SPEAKER_00]: And he's, you know, he'll tweet to her in a game or post to her in a game and they're like, what, what are the coaches?
- 1:28:50[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if these people are this dumb, but I think they are.
- 1:28:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they might be who knows, Johnny Mack.
- 1:28:56[SPEAKER_02]: Good stuff there.
- 1:28:57[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate everybody for being here.
- 1:28:59[SPEAKER_02]: John, when it comes to those top hunk or those four picks in the top hunk, give me a give me a guess.
- 1:29:05[SPEAKER_02]: How many are defense?
- 1:29:06[SPEAKER_02]: How many are offense?
- 1:29:09[SPEAKER_02]: Eagles?
- 1:29:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 1:29:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:29:11[SPEAKER_02]: Three offense.
- 1:29:12[SPEAKER_02]: One defense.
- 1:29:13[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I found what I'm thinking as well.
- 1:29:15[SPEAKER_02]: We will superdense a pack of them with them.
- 1:29:17[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate everybody being here.
- 1:29:18[SPEAKER_02]: We got about 25 minutes up to go on the show today.
- 1:29:21[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, he's good to talk to everybody.
- 1:29:23[SPEAKER_02]: We are 16 days out from the 2026 start of the NFL draft.
- 1:29:28[SPEAKER_02]: There will be a three day event per usual, round one on Thursday night, rounds two and three on Friday night.
- 1:29:35[SPEAKER_02]: and rounds four through seven on Saturday mid day.
- 1:29:39[SPEAKER_02]: I think it starts at like, I don't know, noon or something on Saturday.
- 1:29:42[SPEAKER_02]: John, do you know?
- 1:29:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's usually noon.
- 1:29:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:29:45[SPEAKER_00]: Usually.
- 1:29:47[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks for these long, long day.
- 1:29:50[SPEAKER_02]: It's starting at noon, yep.
- 1:29:52[SPEAKER_02]: So starting at noon to final day of the draft will be noon.
- 1:29:55[SPEAKER_02]: That'll be around 4 through 7.
- 1:29:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's quite a bit of picks.
- 1:29:57[SPEAKER_02]: The draft is out in Pittsburgh this year.
- 1:29:59[SPEAKER_02]: So in Pennsylvania and our beautiful state of Pennsylvania, but not out there, and not here in Philly.
- 1:30:06[SPEAKER_02]: It's out there in Pittsburgh, PA. John, by the way.
- 1:30:10[SPEAKER_02]: uh... i'm gonna rip your state do new jersey is like catastrophic man i'm like what looking for places to live here you know with getting married and everything soon what that new jersey is like worse than new york and california dude like what that happened at that state
- 1:30:29[SPEAKER_00]: it's awful.
- 1:30:30[SPEAKER_00]: We're awful.
- 1:30:32[SPEAKER_00]: That's why people are fling.
- 1:30:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:30:35[SPEAKER_00]: You see the number of property taxes are awful.
- 1:30:40[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, when you get closer to New York, it's just, you know, ton of rich people up there.
- 1:30:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because they all work in New York.
- 1:30:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:30:50[SPEAKER_00]: But even here, like, hadn't feel Morris town, South Jersey.
- 1:30:55[SPEAKER_00]: That's where a lot of Eagles people will live.
- 1:30:59[SPEAKER_00]: You saw somebody just sold their house.
- 1:31:01[SPEAKER_00]: I saw Cassiana's just sold his house.
- 1:31:04[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:31:05[SPEAKER_01]: He's out in San Diego now, right?
- 1:31:06[SPEAKER_01]: But the podger is it there?
- 1:31:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:31:09[SPEAKER_00]: So he sold his house for, I think, 4.8 million.
- 1:31:12[SPEAKER_00]: That's in Morris town.
- 1:31:14[SPEAKER_00]: You can imagine the property taxes on that.
- 1:31:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't know what to tell you except I'm telling you that we're going to Florida, John, and I'm pulling you down there with me, but I'm like, I don't like to get political on the show, but the only thing I'm voting on is lowering property taxes and making life
- 1:31:48[SPEAKER_00]: doesn't mean they're right and anything else, but people got to be able to live before you can care about all the bullshit that people claim they care about, which is just virtue signalling to begin with.
- 1:32:01[SPEAKER_02]: So that's like the whole political sector.
- 1:32:04[SPEAKER_02]: John Mac, good stuff there.
- 1:32:05[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 1:32:05[SPEAKER_02]: We got about 20 minutes off to go on the show today.
- 1:32:09[SPEAKER_02]: We will close it out with the dreaded, the dreaded topic of AJ Brown.
- 1:32:20[SPEAKER_02]: I knew it.
- 1:32:21[SPEAKER_02]: I knew I was going to get it right.
- 1:32:24[SPEAKER_00]: I love talking about AJ.
- 1:32:27[SPEAKER_00]: I love talking to AJ, wish you would talk again.
- 1:32:30[SPEAKER_00]: Love the guy, love the person.
- 1:32:34[SPEAKER_00]: Hate talking about the situation.
- 1:32:36[SPEAKER_02]: Well, let's go to the other side of it.
- 1:32:38[SPEAKER_02]: How do you project him if he's here in Philly to how do you think he will fare in the projected offense that the Eagles are going to run?
- 1:32:45[SPEAKER_02]: Let's assume AJ and Brown stays here.
- 1:32:47[SPEAKER_02]: We'll go the other side.
- 1:32:51[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I don't, I don't project it to go well for the quarterback.
- 1:32:58[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't, I don't think it would go well for AJ or Devontay or Hollywood Brown, or, you know, and relatively speaking, they're good players.
- 1:33:08[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to get, you know, yard edition, jailens going to get a certain, the jailens
- 1:33:21[SPEAKER_00]: of the quarterback.
- 1:33:22[SPEAKER_00]: So, that's my issue with the projected.
- 1:33:26[SPEAKER_00]: That's the projected.
- 1:33:27[SPEAKER_00]: Ultimately, if you force me to predict, I think they will scale back from the projection.
- 1:33:36[SPEAKER_00]: I guess why wouldn't they?
- 1:33:37[SPEAKER_00]: They did it once, why wouldn't they do it again?
- 1:33:39[SPEAKER_00]: How do you think that will impact their thought process on where they are with AJ Brown?
- 1:33:45[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think they're already out that they're going to trade them.
- 1:33:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's done.
- 1:33:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think the only
- 1:33:53[SPEAKER_00]: The only talk going on right now is the weird group that thinks we're lying to them.
- 1:34:04[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, they can live in their fantasy.
- 1:34:08[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't mean that it's all smoke.
- 1:34:12[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's not.
- 1:34:13[SPEAKER_02]: They're come on.
- 1:34:14[SPEAKER_00]: No, that's what I'm saying.
- 1:34:15[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they're definitely trying to trade them.
- 1:34:22[SPEAKER_00]: That's the only way back.
- 1:34:23[SPEAKER_02]: Well, the thing I left about is like, John, if the media didn't exist, if our show didn't exist, if sports talk television didn't exist, and you only had the information of what you watch, you still might think AJ Brown's getting traded.
- 1:34:39[SPEAKER_02]: That guy was wine and a complaint at all for two years in a row.
- 1:34:44[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I don't even, I don't even understand where this, this is like one of the most obvious ones.
- 1:34:48[SPEAKER_02]: It's like the owner had a trot out over the practice field and have an intervention with them on the side.
- 1:34:55[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, AJ, please, please stop bringing the audience into us.
- 1:34:59[SPEAKER_00]: Jeffrey played that down, by the way, you know, from what you want to believe, but I will say Jeffrey is a practice all the time.
- 1:35:07[SPEAKER_00]: I said that when it came up.
- 1:35:08[SPEAKER_00]: He's a practice all the time.
- 1:35:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he is.
- 1:35:11[SPEAKER_00]: Like he is not a, you know, sometimes he's on vacation and he's a rich guy, but I've all the NFL teams I've been around.
- 1:35:22[SPEAKER_00]: He's definitely the most present owner I've ever seen.
- 1:35:29[SPEAKER_02]: What should be a good thing in a bad thing, too, right?
- 1:35:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:35:32[SPEAKER_00]: So his, his claim out in Arizona was that I talked to players and that's true.
- 1:35:37[SPEAKER_00]: I've seen it.
- 1:35:38[SPEAKER_00]: I see it every day almost.
- 1:35:40[SPEAKER_00]: He talks the players all the time.
- 1:35:43[SPEAKER_00]: So I said it at the time, I'm not sure what to make of that.
- 1:35:47[SPEAKER_00]: But in hindsight, you can say specifically when that came out, I forget and I apologize to who reported it.
- 1:35:56[SPEAKER_00]: When it did come out, AJ did stop talking to us.
- 1:36:02[SPEAKER_00]: So there is some,
- 1:36:05[SPEAKER_00]: You know, there's some thought process that he was told something.
- 1:36:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because yeah, yeah, yeah, that's exactly when he stopped talking to us.
- 1:36:16[SPEAKER_00]: And he kind of put us off and kind of said, uh, a couple times he had some wisdom teeth taking care of and he said, I'm going to talk to you later in the week, but he never did.
- 1:36:26[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so I mean, if you're just going on the result clearly something
- 1:36:35[SPEAKER_00]: where he, and I don't think it was, do not talk to those guys.
- 1:36:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was more of, if I open my mouth, I'm gonna say something because he tends to tell the truth and he just took himself out of the process so to speak.
- 1:36:52[SPEAKER_00]: So I think there's some truth to it, but Jeffrey down play it.
- 1:36:55[SPEAKER_00]: And I can't say he does talk to players all the time.
- 1:36:57[SPEAKER_00]: And he has dinners with players all the time.
- 1:37:02[SPEAKER_00]: That's true.
- 1:37:07[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, that part of it, I don't think it's that big of a deal, but as far as, you know, I look, they're trying to trade them and they're probably going to trade them after June 1st and probably not to draft right, like, should you think how I think at this stage more likely they can do it, they can fit it, they want to, you know, they're still having meetings every day, they're bringing them players they
- 1:37:36[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they'll formulate their plan for the giraffe pretty quickly here and
- 1:37:43[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they have the room, they have the cap room to take the hit right now.
- 1:37:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:37:48[SPEAKER_00]: Correct.
- 1:37:48[SPEAKER_02]: It's a longer time.
- 1:37:49[SPEAKER_02]: The cap hit is technically the same, even if they wait till June 1st, right?
- 1:37:53[SPEAKER_02]: It just is extended out enough extra year basically.
- 1:37:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:37:56[SPEAKER_00]: The only that you're still liable for the money, you're just spreading it out over two years.
- 1:38:00[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 1:38:00[SPEAKER_02]: So is there a world where the Eagles might want to just kind of hey, take it and then it's off the board.
- 1:38:06[SPEAKER_02]: You can make an argument.
- 1:38:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:38:08[SPEAKER_02]: That's why they contribute to the contracts that are coming folks at Cooper to Gene Quinion Mitchell Jalen Carter Jalen Hertz potentially you're talking about 150 million large of counties coming.
- 1:38:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're you're you're just talking about flexibility and he created the flexibility to be able to do it at any time.
- 1:38:27[SPEAKER_00]: So he could do it.
- 1:38:29[SPEAKER_00]: My thought processes, you know, he'll get a first round pick, but it'll be later 27 or 28.
- 1:38:37[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so that would indicate that would probably June June 2nd would be, um, you know, the mortal likely scenario.
- 1:38:48[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but yeah, and you know, that's not to say a hundred percent, but I can't say everybody
- 1:39:04[SPEAKER_00]: You know, if he's back, it'll probably be his ex-earth situation where I always be in stubborn.
- 1:39:10[SPEAKER_00]: And so like I'm not moving home until I get what I want.
- 1:39:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but sometimes I think that can cause more harm than good.
- 1:39:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's a difficult type rope to walk, you know.
- 1:39:22[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't believe AJ and this is something you take advantage of.
- 1:39:29[SPEAKER_00]: Even though I know a lot of people,
- 1:39:31[SPEAKER_00]: won't agree with me.
- 1:39:33[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he's a guy who's going to blow up the locker room or you know, I just he's not that guy.
- 1:39:42[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody loves him.
- 1:39:44[SPEAKER_02]: No, but he's passive aggressive, John.
- 1:39:47[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
- 1:39:47[SPEAKER_02]: Very passive aggressive.
- 1:39:49[SPEAKER_00]: But it's very similar.
- 1:39:51[SPEAKER_00]: That's why the an unfortunately for the players, it was very similar with that girl.
- 1:39:55[SPEAKER_00]: It's like Zack didn't want to be here anymore.
- 1:39:59[SPEAKER_00]: but they knew he'd be a professional, so they can do it.
- 1:40:04[SPEAKER_00]: I know people won't agree with that with AJ because of all the perceptions out there, but I think they know he'd be a professional.
- 1:40:11[SPEAKER_00]: So it gives them the luxury of being stubborn.
- 1:40:16[SPEAKER_00]: Or is it, you know the guy's not gonna be a professional?
- 1:40:21[SPEAKER_00]: You're you're going to cut bait, you know, I think they know he's going to be a professional and I know a lot of people are going to agree with that.
- 1:40:28[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't care.
- 1:40:30[SPEAKER_00]: I think they know he's going to be a professional.
- 1:40:35[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be interesting to find out when I think everybody we're going to go to some viewer comments out today to wrap up.
- 1:40:40[SPEAKER_02]: We got 13 minutes on a good in my boy rich not rich.
- 1:40:43[SPEAKER_02]: What's going on, man.
- 1:40:44[SPEAKER_02]: It's good to see in here rich.
- 1:40:46[SPEAKER_02]: I.
- 1:40:47[SPEAKER_02]: Before I get to your comment, I came across rich, I guess we're connected on LinkedIn.
- 1:40:54[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't know you were a genius, richest guy graduated from MIT, Johnny.
- 1:40:58[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 1:40:59[SPEAKER_02]: That's guys a genius.
- 1:41:01[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, I'm intimidated now.
- 1:41:03[SPEAKER_00]: I hope it's really genius question.
- 1:41:05[SPEAKER_02]: And now here you go, as you says.
- 1:41:07[SPEAKER_02]: Hypothetically, if you had the right man.
- 1:41:09[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you can't be a hypothetical.
- 1:41:11[SPEAKER_02]: And right on my team, guys, come on.
- 1:41:16[SPEAKER_02]: Oh man, I'm sorry, I hate the deal with the I said that right before a hypothetical.
- 1:41:23[SPEAKER_02]: Oh man, if you had the right value offered, would you take a blockbuster deal for AJ Brown or Jalen Hertz?
- 1:41:30[SPEAKER_02]: I know it depends, but and then he followed up said, oh man, come on.
- 1:41:35[SPEAKER_02]: I think AJ Brown's a higher rated wide receiver than Jalen Hertz is.
- 1:41:48[SPEAKER_00]: way more for a quarterback quarterback is just the be all in all you know how many desperate teams there are you know how many desperate teams would trade for a guy with two super bulls on his resume and that winning percentage what would you get shitload well all you you've floated the idea of would you ponder
- 1:42:16[SPEAKER_00]: Not maybe next year, the Eagles are still getting a shit load for Jalen Hurts next year if they want to move on.
- 1:42:23[SPEAKER_00]: Even after another bad season.
- 1:42:27[SPEAKER_00]: It is a quarterback desperately.
- 1:42:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it is.
- 1:42:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's so, it really is.
- 1:42:35[SPEAKER_00]: You know, and this guy went to set a high level and there will be teams.
- 1:42:42[SPEAKER_02]: And they got they got trash quarterback play there.
- 1:42:46[SPEAKER_02]: CJ Strauss is stiff.
- 1:42:48[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't go that far.
- 1:42:50[SPEAKER_00]: He had a bad playoff game.
- 1:42:53[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think I think he's held that team back for two years now.
- 1:42:58[SPEAKER_02]: I got a good chance.
- 1:42:59[SPEAKER_00]: That's a good chance.
- 1:43:01[SPEAKER_00]: You know how many bad quarterbacks are?
- 1:43:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm not saying CJ Strauss is one of the worst in the league.
- 1:43:06[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying I think he's held that team back specifically.
- 1:43:09[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think our certainly did, you know, yeah, I mean, look, it's a dead, he's one of the best, he's certainly one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL.
- 1:43:24[SPEAKER_00]: So it's difficult, you know, people have this Ricky Bobby mentality that it's linear, it's a failure.
- 1:43:39[SPEAKER_00]: You know, the old back, can he win you with Super Bowl?
- 1:43:41[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the answer to that is yes, but you need everything demonstrably right.
- 1:43:48[SPEAKER_00]: You need everything to be aligned.
- 1:43:51[SPEAKER_00]: So there, there's no way I'm moving on from CJ Stroud, but, you know, the idea of paying him 50 plus million dollars, which is what you have to do.
- 1:44:02[SPEAKER_00]: Looms large.
- 1:44:05[SPEAKER_00]: That's the problem with quarterbacks in the NFL right now.
- 1:44:09[SPEAKER_00]: None of them can live up to their contracts.
- 1:44:12[SPEAKER_00]: Look at that press cut.
- 1:44:16[SPEAKER_00]: That press cut is a damn good quarterback.
- 1:44:18[SPEAKER_00]: We just talked about curb cousins.
- 1:44:20[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a, I'm a, I'm a curb cousin to a damn good quarterback.
- 1:44:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't know when you're super bowl unless.
- 1:44:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but wait, I mean, look, I know Philly fans.
- 1:44:28[SPEAKER_02]: Philly fans get so mad at me for this.
- 1:44:31[SPEAKER_02]: But it's so obvious to me.
- 1:44:32[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, is that press got really the reason the cowboys haven't won't know what course not.
- 1:44:36[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's done his job pretty well.
- 1:44:38[SPEAKER_02]: I think you had three or four number one overall offensive.
- 1:44:42[SPEAKER_00]: I got, you know, if, if you talk to Kellen Moore.
- 1:44:47[SPEAKER_00]: And he gave him the true serum.
- 1:44:49[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he loves stack.
- 1:44:50[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure.
- 1:44:51[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he said three quarterback.
- 1:44:54[SPEAKER_00]: He said three big time quarterbacks.
- 1:44:56[SPEAKER_00]: You know where Jailin's gonna end up on that list.
- 1:44:59[SPEAKER_00]: They're gonna, it's ther.
- 1:45:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's fucking ther.
- 1:45:03[SPEAKER_00]: And he's a super bowl winner.
- 1:45:05[SPEAKER_00]: So I mean, quarterback evaluation is broken.
- 1:45:07[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying Jailin's better because he won a super bowl.
- 1:45:12[SPEAKER_00]: I'm saying,
- 1:45:14[SPEAKER_00]: that this is what you have to take into account when you're talking about a really good player that things have to align for.
- 1:45:22[SPEAKER_00]: So you don't just throw away CJ Stroud because of a couple bad games.
- 1:45:29[SPEAKER_00]: Where you going?
- 1:45:30[SPEAKER_00]: Davis Mills?
- 1:45:33[SPEAKER_00]: Where you going?
- 1:45:34[SPEAKER_00]: For giving up on CJ Stroud.
- 1:45:37[SPEAKER_00]: Jalen Hurts is where they're going.
- 1:45:39[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to first round.
- 1:45:41[SPEAKER_00]: Well, see, you want to, you, you're not getting to first round.
- 1:45:45[SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to take the medical here.
- 1:45:46[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not saying, I'm not saying trade.
- 1:45:48[SPEAKER_02]: Here we go with everybody else.
- 1:45:49[SPEAKER_02]: I just say trade jailed hurts.
- 1:45:51[SPEAKER_02]: You're not going to take the medical.
- 1:45:53[SPEAKER_02]: My poor rich brother, I have a medical.
- 1:45:55[SPEAKER_02]: I'm saying you might be able to came from Houston to you take the deal.
- 1:45:59[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the blockbuster would be CJ Straud for jail and hurts.
- 1:46:02[SPEAKER_00]: You're not getting anything else.
- 1:46:04[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I'm on my first round picks.
- 1:46:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, she just travels straight up for jail and her.
- 1:46:13[SPEAKER_02]: It's no thanks.
- 1:46:17[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if I was going to be met with similar similar.
- 1:46:21[SPEAKER_02]: You think the Eagles would think about that?
- 1:46:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think more teams would think about that than not.
- 1:46:28[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they're different styles, but I mean, I mean, the Eagles that all they remember, you're only doing this off another poor season by Eagles standards.
- 1:46:38[SPEAKER_00]: So let's say 10 wins.
- 1:46:41[SPEAKER_02]: continually poor passing, yeah, I think, yeah, my, are you telling me on the delusion land about CJ Strauss?
- 1:46:52[SPEAKER_02]: Because I kind of think the guy stinks.
- 1:46:53[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I watch so many texts here, you're in delusion land.
- 1:46:57[SPEAKER_00]: And my, yeah, I mean, he was terrible at the end of last season.
- 1:47:02[SPEAKER_00]: That's not debatable, but he's got a lot of gifts.
- 1:47:12[SPEAKER_00]: He's a good player, disappointing.
- 1:47:16[SPEAKER_00]: And obviously, you set the expectation so high after his rookie season.
- 1:47:24[SPEAKER_00]: So that factors into it as well.
- 1:47:26[SPEAKER_00]: But he's gifted.
- 1:47:29[SPEAKER_01]: I know against it doesn't really matter.
- 1:47:34[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, let's see, last year he was not great.
- 1:47:40[SPEAKER_02]: I'm looking right now.
- 1:47:41[SPEAKER_02]: I don't even seem my top 30.
- 1:47:43[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, we're gonna hack this guy.
- 1:47:45[SPEAKER_00]: He's 31st last year, which obviously it was a deep drop off.
- 1:47:49[SPEAKER_00]: 30 years ago, what did you click on 30, 38, 31 of 38?
- 1:47:56[SPEAKER_00]: First few years, he was 13s and 14th.
- 1:47:58[SPEAKER_00]: That's more of what he is.
- 1:48:00[SPEAKER_00]: Like I don't think he's top 10,
- 1:48:04[SPEAKER_00]: He's certainly top half and he's got the potential to go higher, but yeah, he didn't have a great season last year, which is spare.
- 1:48:14[SPEAKER_00]: That's one of the reasons why Gerard Johnson is here, um, I'm not looking at this
- 1:48:28[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I don't know, that's our company.
- 1:48:30[SPEAKER_02]: Dylan Hurts has had a least up there with Drake made Bones and 11th overall.
- 1:48:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I remember.
- 1:48:36[SPEAKER_00]: Well, remember, you know, he's, you know, he had a bad season.
- 1:48:42[SPEAKER_00]: All right, like, like, say quantum running back, you know, had a bad season.
- 1:48:46[SPEAKER_00]: We'll use that as an example, locally, had a bad season.
- 1:48:51[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he's a good player.
- 1:48:54[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, people have up-down, up-season, down-season, he had a down-season.
- 1:49:01[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think anybody's given up on them.
- 1:49:05[SPEAKER_00]: They shouldn't give up on them.
- 1:49:07[SPEAKER_00]: If he continues to go in that direction, obviously it's a bigger problem.
- 1:49:14[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, yeah, I don't, yeah, I don't, I mean,
- 1:49:21[SPEAKER_00]: You could look at every quarterback and they've had bad seasons from Peyton Manning on down now late in this career.
- 1:49:29[SPEAKER_00]: More like Texans football as you watched last year, John.
- 1:49:33[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, not a ton, but I mean, that guy was horrid.
- 1:49:37[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I know he's hard into playoff game.
- 1:49:39[SPEAKER_00]: He was hard in the year, my friend.
- 1:49:42[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, and by the way, those PFA rankings include the playoffs, which he was really, which I did a regular season, which was really shitty.
- 1:49:52[SPEAKER_00]: 21st.
- 1:49:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:49:55[SPEAKER_00]: So, I mean, like he was really shitty in the playoffs that really skewed as grades.
- 1:50:03[SPEAKER_00]: Which is under, you know, and I get it, you know, big spots.
- 1:50:06[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't show up in the big spot.
- 1:50:08[SPEAKER_00]: Number one, they've made the playoffs three consecutive years.
- 1:50:12[SPEAKER_00]: The used in Texans.
- 1:50:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think people are being, I didn't expect that defense was phenomenal.
- 1:50:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, that defense is good, but the real defense is better than good.
- 1:50:24[SPEAKER_00]: That defense is good.
- 1:50:25[SPEAKER_00]: No, it was really good.
- 1:50:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it might have been the best defense in the NFL last year.
- 1:50:29[SPEAKER_00]: No, I don't mean to dispute the defense,
- 1:50:34[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's not like they've been lights out for three years that he's been there, you know, last two years they've been really good, last year they were really, really good and they have Anderson and Hunter and yada yada yada, but again, that's, you know, people want to just, you want to say, how is it same thing here with challenge hurts?
- 1:51:03[SPEAKER_00]: The quarterbacks fault that you have a good defense, like oh, oh, it went, what do you want?
- 1:51:08[SPEAKER_00]: You don't want a good defense.
- 1:51:10[SPEAKER_00]: You want a good defense.
- 1:51:11[SPEAKER_00]: And a good quarterback.
- 1:51:12[SPEAKER_00]: That's the goal.
- 1:51:13[SPEAKER_00]: The guy need the guy has something to prove this year.
- 1:51:20[SPEAKER_00]: No doubt about it.
- 1:51:21[SPEAKER_00]: And if he has another bed here.
- 1:51:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think then you got big concerns.
- 1:51:27[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm not giving up on CJ Straud.
- 1:51:29[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't think I'd be CJ Straud defending today when I woke up, but I mean, it is hard to find good quarterbacks.
- 1:51:38[SPEAKER_02]: So you're a tech way, let me get you on the record here.
- 1:51:41[SPEAKER_02]: John McMullen, hypothetical thanks to Rich Nut, is the general manager.
- 1:51:47[SPEAKER_02]: Jalen Hurts for CJ Straud.
- 1:51:51[SPEAKER_00]: Are you doing that deal?
- 1:51:54[SPEAKER_00]: that that what remember I said after another bad season.
- 1:51:59[SPEAKER_00]: I'm right here right now right here right now I'd rather have CJ stroud for the offense they're projecting.
- 1:52:08[SPEAKER_02]: Oh man.
- 1:52:09[SPEAKER_00]: But I'd rather have challenge hurts for the Eagles offense.
- 1:52:13[SPEAKER_00]: The traditional Eagles offense.
- 1:52:16[SPEAKER_00]: But if they're going to if they're going to go the route that
- 1:52:24[SPEAKER_00]: That's all it comes down to.
- 1:52:27[SPEAKER_02]: Well, if that's a case, why don't they play in Tanner McMahon?
- 1:52:31[SPEAKER_02]: Well, good question.
- 1:52:33[SPEAKER_00]: Good question.
- 1:52:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but I mean, from a larger perspective, taking the Eagles out of it.
- 1:52:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm not giving up on C.J.
- 1:52:44[SPEAKER_00]: Strauss.
- 1:52:46[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, all right, we'll say.
- 1:52:47[SPEAKER_02]: All right, John, good show today.
- 1:52:48[SPEAKER_02]: My friend will have a hopefully Gill and B.L.G.
- 1:52:51[SPEAKER_02]: tomorrow.
- 1:52:51[SPEAKER_02]: We got Devon Jackson on Thursday.
- 1:52:53[SPEAKER_02]: I reached out to Rick Sarah tell the two.
- 1:52:55[SPEAKER_02]: So I'll see if he responds back to me.
- 1:52:57[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe we'll try and get him on Ian.
- 1:52:58[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I'm going to get all these guys on for the draft again.
- 1:53:01[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, Johnny Mac, you're final thoughts here.
- 1:53:05[SPEAKER_02]: On our Tuesday edition of birth 360, M.I.T.
- 1:53:08[SPEAKER_00]: guys get me bogged down with the hypotheticals.
- 1:53:10[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like Joe is back.
- 1:53:12[SPEAKER_00]: What the fuck?
- 1:53:13[SPEAKER_00]: Why are we talking about a CJ Strouter jail in her extreme?
- 1:53:17[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but yeah, I mean, uh, good draft talk, and we got to get into more draft talk in less drama, hopefully.
- 1:53:27[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully.
- 1:53:28[SPEAKER_01]: Well, this is what it is, this is what it is,
- 1:53:30[SPEAKER_02]: All right, man.
- 1:53:31[SPEAKER_02]: Good shirt today, John.
- 1:53:32[SPEAKER_02]: I will catch you tomorrow, my friend.
- 1:53:34[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, brother.
- 1:53:35[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 1:53:35[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks.
- 1:53:36[SPEAKER_02]: I'll say it.
- 1:53:37[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks, John.
- 1:53:37[SPEAKER_02]: There's Johnny Mac.
- 1:53:38[SPEAKER_02]: John McMullen.
- 1:53:40[SPEAKER_02]: The number one.
- 1:53:40[SPEAKER_02]: He goes beat reporter, host of birth 365.
- 1:53:43[SPEAKER_02]: Follow Matt Jay at McMullen.
- 1:53:45[SPEAKER_02]: I appreciate him doing it today.
- 1:53:47[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate all you guys being here today.
- 1:53:50[SPEAKER_02]: Tony.
- 1:53:51[SPEAKER_02]: What up, Tony?
- 1:53:52[SPEAKER_02]: Rich.
- 1:53:53[SPEAKER_02]: Not what up, Rich.
- 1:53:55[SPEAKER_02]: Big Mike.
- 1:53:57[SPEAKER_02]: Dominique, damn me another day of, I'm trolling the chat.
- 1:54:02[SPEAKER_02]: Damn me, I think you're a troll.
- 1:54:04[SPEAKER_02]: I think you're, I think you're a good one of that, too.
- 1:54:06[SPEAKER_02]: You're like, yes, well, you love AJ, right?
- 1:54:07[SPEAKER_02]: Dabney, you're a troll.
- 1:54:10[SPEAKER_02]: Dabney loves AJ because they're both trolls.
- 1:54:14[SPEAKER_02]: Ha ha ha.
- 1:54:18[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, man, that's funny.
- 1:54:19[SPEAKER_02]: That's funny.
- 1:54:20[SPEAKER_02]: I kept by the way.
- 1:54:24[SPEAKER_02]: Not often do I vehemently disagree with John on football.
- 1:54:30[SPEAKER_02]: I vehemently disagree with him about CJ Strahd.
- 1:54:33[SPEAKER_02]: I am not a CJ Strahd fan.
- 1:54:36[SPEAKER_02]: I think that guy is not as good as people thought he was.
- 1:54:40[SPEAKER_02]: Certainly not as good as where he was drafted either.
- 1:54:43[SPEAKER_02]: So.
- 1:54:45[SPEAKER_02]: Then you got, I think, guaranteed AJ's traded.
- 1:54:48[SPEAKER_02]: Dominique, come on, the possibility exists.
- 1:54:50[SPEAKER_02]: It's a minute, Dominique.
- 1:54:51[SPEAKER_02]: And minute, Dominique, the possibility exists.
- 1:54:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yes or no, Dominique.
- 1:54:59[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go through, let's go through the process of elimination here.
- 1:55:02[SPEAKER_02]: Dominique, yes or no question.
- 1:55:04[SPEAKER_02]: The possibility exists that AJ Brown will be traded.
- 1:55:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yes or no.
- 1:55:10[SPEAKER_02]: If your answer is no, then okay, you're entitled to think that I am a troll.
- 1:55:15[SPEAKER_02]: If your answer is yes, then I will ask you.
- 1:55:18[SPEAKER_02]: If the answer is yes, and the possibility exists at all, and you were the host of a sports talk show that talked about the Philadelphia Eagles, 365 days of the year, and in the middle of the offseason, would you talk about AJ Brad?
- 1:55:36[SPEAKER_02]: That's my next yes or no question for you.
- 1:55:40[SPEAKER_02]: If you're honest, the answer is simple.
- 1:55:44[SPEAKER_02]: But we all know we don't think you're honest, my guy.
- 1:55:47[SPEAKER_02]: You're not honest, my guy.
- 1:55:50[SPEAKER_02]: Damn you, you're in your own delusions, my friend.
- 1:55:57[SPEAKER_02]: Come on, man.
- 1:56:00[SPEAKER_02]: That's true, damn, that's fair.
- 1:56:03[SPEAKER_02]: Filling to Chicago!
- 1:56:05[SPEAKER_02]: What's up, my guy?
- 1:56:06[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, don't bother good to see you in here, man.
- 1:56:08[SPEAKER_02]: Good to see you in here.
- 1:56:10[SPEAKER_02]: Here's chicken Alfredo.
- 1:56:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Alfredo.
- 1:56:12[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm seriously brother.
- 1:56:13[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I get all my I get on my social media account on Sunday night Easter night because I'm like, let me get ready for my show tomorrow.
- 1:56:20[SPEAKER_02]: So I do some prep.
- 1:56:22[SPEAKER_02]: I got like 13 tweets at me from broccoli Alfredo.
- 1:56:27[SPEAKER_02]: Dude, it's Easter.
- 1:56:29[SPEAKER_02]: Why you worried so much about Jalen hurts an AJ Brad on Easter?
- 1:56:33[SPEAKER_02]: The guys tagging me in 42 tweets.
- 1:56:37[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, dude, it's Easter's Sunday.
- 1:56:38[SPEAKER_02]: I don't give a rat's ass right now about Jalen hurts an AJ Brad.
- 1:56:44[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I don't give a royal shit.
- 1:56:49[SPEAKER_02]: I really don't.
- 1:56:50[SPEAKER_02]: You're lucky I even looked at.
- 1:56:51[SPEAKER_02]: Rockley Alfredo.
- 1:56:58[SPEAKER_02]: Come on, man, it's possible we could, yeah, yeah, I wish me had him, man.
- 1:57:04[SPEAKER_02]: How much better would this team look with Traybom Walker?
- 1:57:09[SPEAKER_02]: Come on, man.
- 1:57:16[SPEAKER_02]: Answering a question with a question.
- 1:57:18[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, my, and I can't help these people.
- 1:57:20[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what you want from me, did.
- 1:57:23[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what you want from me.
- 1:57:31[SPEAKER_02]: It is what it is.
- 1:57:32[SPEAKER_02]: Fredo!
- 1:57:34[SPEAKER_02]: Woo!
- 1:57:35[SPEAKER_02]: What a Fredo!
- 1:57:39[SPEAKER_02]: Not to be confused with broccoli out of Fredo.
- 1:57:43[SPEAKER_02]: This is Fredo!
- 1:57:48[SPEAKER_02]: That's funny.
- 1:57:50[SPEAKER_02]: On the, there we go, don't!
- 1:57:54[SPEAKER_02]: On the road that I'm going to full take a gas and a dunk in coffee.
- 1:57:58[SPEAKER_02]: Nothing like it, Philly Don, a fresh folk tank, a gas, a nice hot, dunking coffee.
- 1:58:06[SPEAKER_02]: Duncan's got a sponsor this show.
- 1:58:13[SPEAKER_02]: Actually, in honor of everybody here yesterday, that was winding and crying to me about my $4 expenditure on a dunking coffee.
- 1:58:28[SPEAKER_02]: to up my number for the month of April, to two Duncan's per day, okay?
- 1:58:38[SPEAKER_02]: Two Duncan's per day.
- 1:58:40[SPEAKER_02]: It's an honor of you, Rasputin, an honor of you, everybody.
- 1:58:45[SPEAKER_02]: We are up to two Duncan's per day.
- 1:58:51[SPEAKER_02]: Two Duncan's per day.
- 1:58:54[SPEAKER_02]: How's that?
- 1:58:54[SPEAKER_02]: Where are my financial managers in the chat?
- 1:59:00[SPEAKER_02]: Zee with the designer call fees.
- 1:59:02[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a simple man, case, give me a dunk and I'm good.
- 1:59:07[SPEAKER_02]: Although I think it's all good.
- 1:59:08[SPEAKER_02]: I think we're going to have a pretty funny conversation about this in the future because I'm pretty sure.
- 1:59:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm pretty sure my fiance plans on getting a badass coffee machine and she said, I'm going to get up and make you your coffee every day.
- 1:59:24[SPEAKER_02]: And I will say this.
- 1:59:25[SPEAKER_02]: I am a sucker for things made with love.
- 1:59:30[SPEAKER_02]: It's like when when somebody makes food for you, it just tastes better.
- 1:59:34[SPEAKER_02]: Doesn't it?
- 1:59:35[SPEAKER_02]: At least that's my perspective.
- 1:59:37[SPEAKER_02]: Just tastes better.
- 1:59:38[SPEAKER_02]: So if my beautiful woman is hand-delivering me a coffee every morning, I will sacrifice my dunking.
- 1:59:53[SPEAKER_02]: I will sacrifice my dunking.
- 2:00:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, he trust me.
- 2:00:02[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, too, Jason.
- 2:00:03[SPEAKER_02]: Me, too.
- 2:00:06[SPEAKER_02]: I'm telling you, man, she gets that machine.
- 2:00:08[SPEAKER_02]: I'll send you some good.
- 2:00:09[SPEAKER_02]: Michael, do you want a coffee shop or something?
- 2:00:11[SPEAKER_02]: Why do you keep saying that?
- 2:00:15[SPEAKER_02]: Why do you keep saying that?
- 2:00:17[SPEAKER_02]: Michael, you got, you, you look, are you like a coffee blog or something?
- 2:00:21[SPEAKER_02]: You guys want to hear a little story about my entrepreneurial journey?
- 2:00:25[SPEAKER_02]: I lived in Texas for two years.
- 2:00:27[SPEAKER_02]: Let me see if I could pull this off.
- 2:00:28[SPEAKER_02]: This was actually badass.
- 2:00:36[SPEAKER_02]: see if I can pull this up.
- 2:00:40[SPEAKER_02]: No, that's not it.
- 2:00:46[SPEAKER_02]: Nothing like the entrepreneurial journey of going through the ups and the downs, the failures, the good, the bad, the indifferent, all the sleepless nights.
- 2:00:57[SPEAKER_02]: Let me see if I could find, see I think it's on my other computer.
- 2:01:01[SPEAKER_01]: No, that's
- 2:01:08[SPEAKER_02]: Dan, you guys would like this.
- 2:01:09[SPEAKER_02]: This is funny.
- 2:01:10[SPEAKER_02]: Two horns.
- 2:01:18[SPEAKER_02]: Where is this?
- 2:01:19[SPEAKER_03]: Damn it.
- 2:01:27[SPEAKER_02]: I know I got it somewhere.
- 2:01:32[SPEAKER_02]: The problem is I have three computers here.
- 2:01:34[SPEAKER_02]: So what is here, here and here, what computer is my files on?
- 2:01:38[SPEAKER_02]: I've condensed most of them, but some old stuff from the past slips through the cracks.
- 2:01:46[SPEAKER_02]: Dan, I was going to, you know, Michael, if you're still in here.
- 2:01:51[SPEAKER_02]: When I lived in Texas and I was early in my entrepreneurial career.
- 2:01:56[SPEAKER_02]: Now, it wasn't a coffee shop, but I wanted to do a coffee business.
- 2:02:02[SPEAKER_02]: And I really, I felt a pretty awesome brain actually.
- 2:02:08[SPEAKER_02]: I never launched it though.
- 2:02:09[SPEAKER_02]: It was one of those things I worked on and then I never launched it.
- 2:02:12[SPEAKER_02]: You see, like the climate?
- 2:02:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'd love to share you guys because it's freaking bad, that's real.
- 2:02:17[SPEAKER_02]: In fact, I might bring it back, baby.
- 2:02:20[SPEAKER_02]: And out of this segment, I might bring it back.
- 2:02:26[SPEAKER_02]: We get on that computer real quick.
- 2:02:28[SPEAKER_02]: I could turn my cameras,
- 2:02:33[SPEAKER_02]: All right, let me find this thing.
- 2:02:36[SPEAKER_02]: I know I got it.
- 2:02:37[SPEAKER_02]: I know I got it.
- 2:02:46[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 2:02:52[SPEAKER_02]: All right, I think that's it.
- 2:03:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, baby.
- 2:03:03[SPEAKER_02]: Ha ha ha, dude, this is classic, this stuff.
- 2:03:07[SPEAKER_02]: I love looking at this old shit.
- 2:03:11[SPEAKER_02]: I love the entrepreneurial journey.
- 2:03:16[SPEAKER_02]: And here it is, this is it.
- 2:03:18[SPEAKER_02]: This is vulnerable.
- 2:03:19[SPEAKER_02]: I have 20 of these.
- 2:03:21[SPEAKER_02]: Let me share it over.
- 2:03:22[SPEAKER_02]: Let me share it to my other computer.
- 2:03:25[SPEAKER_02]: I have dropped as a bitch.
- 2:03:34[SPEAKER_02]: But I don't like to know if it's sharing.
- 2:03:40[SPEAKER_01]: All right, here we go.
- 2:03:42[SPEAKER_02]: Here we go.
- 2:03:47[SPEAKER_02]: Here you want to see one of my entrepreneurial ventures that never got off the ground.
- 2:03:52[SPEAKER_02]: Michael, here it is.
- 2:03:54[SPEAKER_02]: I did this for you.
- 2:03:56[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 2:03:57[SPEAKER_02]: I went to the end of the yard to find this file that I haven't looked at since probably 2019.
- 2:04:03[SPEAKER_02]: This is early.
- 2:04:04[SPEAKER_02]: I was 2019.
- 2:04:05[SPEAKER_02]: I was born.
- 2:04:06[SPEAKER_02]: How old was I?
- 2:04:08[SPEAKER_02]: 2019.
- 2:04:09[SPEAKER_02]: I guess I was 20 21.
- 2:04:12[SPEAKER_02]: Here is two horns coffee baby when I lived in Houston, Texas.
- 2:04:18[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, I got to make a coffee brand.
- 2:04:19[SPEAKER_02]: All these steps around here.
- 2:04:21[SPEAKER_02]: Don't know how to drink.
- 2:04:21[SPEAKER_02]: Good coffee.
- 2:04:23[SPEAKER_02]: Boom.
- 2:04:24[SPEAKER_02]: There's the brand.
- 2:04:25[SPEAKER_02]: There's the bag.
- 2:04:26[SPEAKER_02]: How about that for the bag?
- 2:04:28[SPEAKER_02]: Pretty sick looking bag, isn't it?
- 2:04:31[SPEAKER_02]: Pretty sick looking bag.
- 2:04:35[SPEAKER_02]: There you go, baby.
- 2:04:39[SPEAKER_02]: I had concepts of a coffee brand, baby.
- 2:04:42[SPEAKER_02]: I'm bringing it back.
- 2:04:47[SPEAKER_02]: I'm bringing it back.
- 2:04:51[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna call it two dabbies.
- 2:04:54[SPEAKER_02]: Two dabbies.
- 2:04:57[SPEAKER_02]: One of my many failures in my entrepreneurial career.
- 2:05:01[SPEAKER_02]: You wanna be an entrepreneur or get ready to fail.
- 2:05:05[SPEAKER_02]: Eagle, there you go, that's actually not bad.
- 2:05:08[SPEAKER_02]: Krauss is called for you, Keith, really think you want my name to be remembered as a cup of gel.
- 2:05:13[SPEAKER_02]: Come on, man.
- 2:05:15[SPEAKER_02]: Come on.
- 2:05:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I went to a local company that sourced beans.
- 2:05:24[SPEAKER_02]: And I had it all, I went and learned all about them, the Arabicode and all that stuff.
- 2:05:30[SPEAKER_02]: So pretty cool actually.
- 2:05:33[SPEAKER_02]: I got a bunch more of these.
- 2:05:34[SPEAKER_02]: I got like 10 of these files with different bags and I had different coffee flavors and different bags and shit pretty funny.
- 2:05:43[SPEAKER_02]: Pretty funny.
- 2:05:52[SPEAKER_02]: Pretty sick, Brad, thanks, and you're.
- 2:05:54[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe I'll bring it back.
- 2:05:55[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe we'll relaunch it.
- 2:05:57[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe we'll relaunch.
- 2:05:59[SPEAKER_02]: What do you think?
- 2:06:00[SPEAKER_02]: Any investors in the chat?
- 2:06:02[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not doing this bootstrap and shit with this anymore, all right?
- 2:06:06[SPEAKER_02]: And any investors listening, come on in.
- 2:06:10[SPEAKER_02]: Come on in, bootstrap, and I'm too broke to bootstrap in other company.
- 2:06:16[SPEAKER_02]: I'm already bootstrapin' one, all right?
- 2:06:21[SPEAKER_02]: I'm already bootstrapin' one.
- 2:06:31[SPEAKER_02]: five bucks Tyler.
- 2:06:34[SPEAKER_02]: Holy shit dude.
- 2:06:36[SPEAKER_02]: You're out Tyler.
- 2:06:37[SPEAKER_02]: Get off the gear, not in the cap table.
- 2:06:39[SPEAKER_02]: Get out of here.
- 2:06:40[SPEAKER_02]: Get that shit out of here.
- 2:06:50[SPEAKER_02]: Krause syrup and glaze.
- 2:06:52[SPEAKER_02]: Holy moly doughnut shop.
- 2:06:53[SPEAKER_02]: That sounds like a twist business right there.
- 2:06:55[SPEAKER_02]: That's not really for me.
- 2:06:57[SPEAKER_02]: My best friend does it with a coffee shop Baltimore and DC called Z coffee.
- 2:07:01[SPEAKER_02]: See, I don't want to own it.
- 2:07:02[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to own a coffee shop, you know, I'll sell like what's that company that everybody knows.
- 2:07:09[SPEAKER_02]: I don't I don't I don't buy coffee as you guys have now learned the last couple days.
- 2:07:18[SPEAKER_02]: What the heck's that company called black rifle black rifle that like I would like that where you like sell coffee beans.
- 2:07:26[SPEAKER_02]: Michael, hit me up dude, let's do it.
- 2:07:28[SPEAKER_02]: I got the bag.
- 2:07:28[SPEAKER_02]: I already got the bag.
- 2:07:30[SPEAKER_02]: I'll change the name.
- 2:07:33[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 2:07:34[SPEAKER_02]: That's pretty good looking bag, man.
- 2:07:37[SPEAKER_02]: Goldberg says, for the coffee's in.
- 2:07:40[SPEAKER_02]: You bought me my second cup of the day coming up next.
- 2:07:51[SPEAKER_02]: Rasputin just to answer your question.
- 2:07:54[SPEAKER_02]: That's probably why I never got off the ground.
- 2:07:57[SPEAKER_02]: I was a broke ass 19 year old living in Houston.
- 2:08:00[SPEAKER_02]: I've told this story many of times.
- 2:08:02[SPEAKER_02]: My rent with my brother and a two bedroom apartment in Houston, right next to the ballpark.
- 2:08:08[SPEAKER_02]: It was actually a problem.
- 2:08:09[SPEAKER_02]: We used to go to Texas at the Houston Astros games because we literally lived right there and I could get tickets to the stations.
- 2:08:17[SPEAKER_02]: Our rent was two thousand bucks.
- 2:08:22[SPEAKER_02]: for the two bedroom.
- 2:08:24[SPEAKER_02]: We split it obviously two ways, maybe my brother and I.
- 2:08:28[SPEAKER_02]: So I was making, I don't know, 11, 12, 1300 bucks a month.
- 2:08:36[SPEAKER_02]: I was, my rep was a thousand beams.
- 2:08:39[SPEAKER_02]: We split a least car payment on a, first we had a little Volkswagen GTi that we bought used.
- 2:08:50[SPEAKER_02]: for real cheap.
- 2:08:50[SPEAKER_02]: The thing fell apart, the headlight came out, the whole draping came out, everything blew up.
- 2:08:55[SPEAKER_02]: So we sold that.
- 2:08:56[SPEAKER_02]: And then we released the take one.
- 2:08:59[SPEAKER_02]: It was like 230 bucks.
- 2:09:01[SPEAKER_02]: So I had half a rent was a thousand bucks.
- 2:09:06[SPEAKER_02]: Half of the car was like 120 bucks.
- 2:09:07[SPEAKER_02]: And I had about $150 for food and everything else.
- 2:09:13[SPEAKER_02]: Needless to say, I racked up about 15 grand, a credit card debt before I moved out of there.
- 2:09:17[SPEAKER_02]: moved that before I moved out of that bitch I had about 15 jesus credit card debt when I rolled out of Houston.
- 2:09:23[SPEAKER_02]: I said, yeah, that's the life of trying to start start businesses.
- 2:09:28[SPEAKER_02]: So it is what it is.
- 2:09:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, gallery.
- 2:09:30[SPEAKER_02]: That's a nice mall in there.
- 2:09:31[SPEAKER_02]: That's a nice mall.
- 2:09:36[SPEAKER_02]: Who'd be at?
- 2:09:37[SPEAKER_02]: My brother did.
- 2:09:37[SPEAKER_02]: My brother was actually on I don't know if it was scholarship, but it was like
- 2:09:44[SPEAKER_02]: uh... when you go and get your PhD certain programs will pay for you to get your PhD done so he was in the army national guard he did research at the army research lab they he got accepted into rice on a basically full scholarship so he was getting his PhD from rice at the time and make it and i don't know what he was making twenty five jesus year maybe twenty five thirty grand to live
- 2:10:10[SPEAKER_02]: So he paid the insurance.
- 2:10:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I didn't have any money.
- 2:10:13[SPEAKER_02]: I went in a death of by groceries in a not often if you're not in a good spot if you need to go in the death of by groceries.
- 2:10:20[SPEAKER_02]: You're not in a good spot.
- 2:10:22[SPEAKER_02]: You're not in a good spot.
- 2:10:24[SPEAKER_02]: So I was broke.
- 2:10:25[SPEAKER_02]: I was as broke as it gets.
- 2:10:32[SPEAKER_02]: Gallery rolled a good.
- 2:10:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I could see that keys.
