- 0:19I love the chase and the hunt and
- 0:20I set the pace when I'm running.
- 0:22I always take what I want and I
- 0:23always give it one hundred.
- 0:25Don't need a bank, no I'm funded.
- 0:26Play the game like it's nothing.
- 0:28I'm always thankful for something.
- 0:29Don't take for granted, stay humble.
- 0:31Now wake up!
- 0:32It's time to look at the enemy.
- 0:34Look in the mirror if he is no
- 0:36friend to me.
- 0:37It's not working out,
- 0:39maybe it's the chemistry.
- 0:40It's time to break up slowly.
- 1:02And my mic is muted.
- 1:04I don't know when that happened.
- 1:06Hopefully you guys can hear me.
- 1:09You guys know what time it is.
- 1:10It's lunchtime.
- 1:12Train Olive is already in the chat.
- 1:15What is going on, everybody?
- 1:16Favorite time of the day.
- 1:18Get to hang out with friends and talk
- 1:22about what is going on in sports
- 1:25entertainment.
- 1:26I'm going to show you something really
- 1:28wild.
- 1:29So yesterday,
- 1:30my beloved Chicago Bears took on the
- 1:34Cleveland Browns in Soldier Field in
- 1:37Chicago in the coldest game in the history
- 1:41of the Chicago Bears.
- 1:43So this is a video that's been posted
- 1:48on Instagram, and it is an RC Cola.
- 1:56This guy opens up his soda and watch
- 1:59what happens at the game.
- 2:02So you can see it's perfectly liquid.
- 2:04And as air is getting in,
- 2:07it is instantly freezing.
- 2:10That is how cold it was at the
- 2:13game.
- 2:17The soda is instantly freezing into a
- 2:21slush.
- 2:24from liquid to slush just by opening the
- 2:28cap.
- 2:31You know how devoted of a fan you
- 2:33have to be to sit in that?
- 2:37That is insane.
- 2:40I mean, Train Olive,
- 2:41she lives in Florida because of this.
- 2:44She don't want any part of this.
- 2:49Man,
- 2:49it was five degrees when I let the
- 2:51dog out this morning.
- 2:53It was so bad.
- 2:55I don't know how people do it.
- 2:57When I was younger,
- 2:58I didn't mind the cold.
- 3:00And now, like,
- 3:01I cannot stand it at all.
- 3:05But my beloved Bears are now sitting in
- 3:08first place with the loss of the Green
- 3:11Bay Packers,
- 3:12the loss of the Detroit Lions.
- 3:14We have a half-game lead on the Packers,
- 3:16a two-game lead on the Lions with three
- 3:19games to go.
- 3:21And we take on the Packers this Saturday
- 3:23night in Soldier Field in Chicago.
- 3:27Winner will lead the division.
- 3:29If the Bears win this week,
- 3:31they'll have a game and a half lead
- 3:33with two games to go.
- 3:40Uh, Trinol is not at all.
- 3:41I am from New York, New Jersey,
- 3:42and I don't miss the cold at all.
- 3:43Yeah.
- 3:44I lived in Florida for four years.
- 3:46I did not like the heat in the
- 3:48summer.
- 3:49Um,
- 3:49and we moved back North and now I,
- 3:52I,
- 3:53and at the time I didn't really mind
- 3:54the cold.
- 3:55Now, like even right now in my basement,
- 3:57it is so cold.
- 3:59Um,
- 3:59I need to probably start running the space
- 4:02heater when I'm down here.
- 4:04It is so bad.
- 4:06Uh,
- 4:06Frida says the winter has fled Northern
- 4:08Europe.
- 4:09Yeah.
- 4:13The coolest thing about being a Bears fan
- 4:14right now is we finally have a
- 4:16quarterback.
- 4:18For years and years and years of not
- 4:20having one,
- 4:21Caleb Williams is showing each and every
- 4:23week his growth, his advancement,
- 4:25and how he is potentially going to be
- 4:28one of the up-and-coming great
- 4:29quarterbacks of all time.
- 4:32So I am super pumped on this Monday
- 4:34morning for that.
- 4:38Yeah, crazy.
- 4:41Aaron Frazier,
- 4:42fifty three here in Jacksonville today.
- 4:44Yes.
- 4:44So I lived on that I-ten corridor.
- 4:47Aaron,
- 4:48I was I lived in Tallahassee for four
- 4:51years.
- 4:53It didn't get below fifties hardly ever.
- 4:57Yeah.
- 4:59Train all of the heat definitely can be
- 5:01a lot.
- 5:01It was fifty five felt like forty nine
- 5:03this morning and I was cold.
- 5:05Yeah.
- 5:06It's it's amazing how fast you get
- 5:08acclimated.
- 5:08When I first moved to Florida,
- 5:12we went swimming in the Gulf of Mexico
- 5:13in January, and it was no big deal.
- 5:17By the third year I was there,
- 5:20it was too cold to go swimming in
- 5:22the winter.
- 5:24So, yeah.
- 5:26Frida says ten degrees Celsius here.
- 5:29So well above freezing.
- 5:30Yeah, we are nowhere near that.
- 5:34So but it's supposed to warm up.
- 5:36We're supposed to hit mid fifties midweek.
- 5:40So everything will melt and then we'll and
- 5:43it'll dip back down again.
- 5:44And that's that's probably even worse than
- 5:47just straight cold is the up and down.
- 5:50Then everybody gets sick.
- 5:52It's crazy.
- 5:55Jody's at thirteen.
- 5:57Yeah, I think you got us beat.
- 5:58We were at five this morning.
- 5:59We may be may have warmed up a
- 6:01touch.
- 6:04Yeah, we are sitting at twelve.
- 6:06So we're right there with you, Jody.
- 6:08Twelve degrees.
- 6:11And Texas is sitting at forty three with
- 6:13Jay Birch.
- 6:14There we go.
- 6:16Now that we got the weather forecast out,
- 6:20it appears last night we talked about this
- 6:25leaked business plan that has since been
- 6:27pulled from the Barbell Spin website.
- 6:34And there has been some...
- 6:39talk that Wade Deebner may not now be
- 6:44buying CrossFit because of the reaction to
- 6:47the leaked business plan.
- 6:50I know Siobhan shared this earlier.
- 6:51I will share it again so we can
- 6:53talk about it.
- 6:58So got to get back to where I
- 7:01want it to be.
- 7:02And...
- 7:08Sorry about that.
- 7:09I was leafing through Instagram.
- 7:16Sure.
- 7:17All right.
- 7:19Here we go.
- 7:21So this is on Kipping It Real's Instagram
- 7:25page.
- 7:29uh it says it starts up here with
- 7:32keeping it real saying wade ebner prepared
- 7:34to be memed hard and then it said
- 7:38thank you today's horrible youtube has me
- 7:40second guessing everything the amount of
- 7:42hate my family has received is not
- 7:44deserved by everyone all false my heart is
- 7:47too
- 7:49My heart is to only help everyone win
- 7:51and grow and make money and get healthy.
- 7:54This has been hard and malicious without
- 7:56even talking to me.
- 7:57I am sad and hurt.
- 7:59That might be worse for every affiliate.
- 8:02The company is on the brink of bankruptcy
- 8:03and they blast people who may be willing
- 8:05to help but instead receive hate.
- 8:08I wish you guys the best truly.
- 8:10and keeping it asks why would your family
- 8:13receive hate he says watch the video and
- 8:15see it's been overwhelming without any
- 8:17fact checking or asking me i'm out i'm
- 8:23out um so
- 8:27It appears that the proposal that was
- 8:31leaked has done some damage,
- 8:34and Wade Diebner is now out,
- 8:36or he never was in.
- 8:38And the leaking of that information could
- 8:42be resulting in him not complying with an
- 8:47NDA that he signed with CrossFit.
- 8:51It could be that he never really was
- 8:53a proposal, and this is his way out.
- 8:59People are asking where the document is.
- 9:02It has been pulled.
- 9:03It is no longer on the website,
- 9:07so you cannot grab it anymore.
- 9:12I'm assuming that there has been a threat
- 9:15of legal action because the document was
- 9:19leaked and posted publicly.
- 9:24And that is all assumption on my part.
- 9:25I have not got confirmation from anybody
- 9:27about that, but it is no longer,
- 9:30it is no longer out there for us
- 9:32to view.
- 9:37Uh, Chattanooga,
- 9:37maybe he did know something about our
- 9:39history dropping the I'm outline.
- 9:42Yeah.
- 9:43I kind of thought that when I heard
- 9:44it too, but, um, wild, uh,
- 9:51Aaron Frazier, what hate?
- 9:52Apparently just the... I don't know.
- 9:57If you want... I don't know.
- 9:58I don't...
- 9:59If you are truly a businessman who has
- 10:02done all these deals and all these...
- 10:05like nothing that I heard yesterday would
- 10:08deter you from wanting to still purchase
- 10:13this.
- 10:13If it truly was in your heart to
- 10:15purchase CrossFit,
- 10:16I don't think anything that was said
- 10:18yesterday on any of the shows would deter
- 10:20you from continuing on.
- 10:23If all of that deterred you,
- 10:25you're not really convicted in trying to
- 10:29buy CrossFit.
- 10:33So...
- 10:35I mean, that's my thought.
- 10:45I don't think anybody said anything about
- 10:48anyone's family.
- 10:49I don't, I don't,
- 10:50I don't know what DMS he got.
- 10:52So, you know,
- 10:53we're speaking on public comments.
- 10:55I didn't see anything there.
- 10:56I don't know what he was DM or
- 10:58anything like that.
- 10:59Aaron says any criticism is hate.
- 11:02I don't think there was anything in the
- 11:03show that was hateful.
- 11:05There were things saying like there were
- 11:06misunderstandings of how CrossFit works
- 11:10and how the business plan didn't apply to
- 11:12things like that.
- 11:16And again,
- 11:17none of us have seen anything of a
- 11:20direct message that he may have received
- 11:22or his family may have received.
- 11:23We don't know.
- 11:24Right, exactly, Jonathan.
- 11:30We don't know what DM he was sent.
- 11:33So it's hard to comment that he didn't
- 11:35receive any hate just judging on public
- 11:37comment when he could have received
- 11:39private messages that we have not seen.
- 11:43At AI CrossFit,
- 11:45people get nervous and crumble under
- 11:47pressure all the time.
- 11:56So anyway,
- 11:59where I stand today is we had a
- 12:01very heated discussion last night.
- 12:07And I think like,
- 12:09I think everybody is so passionate about
- 12:12what we do and want it to be
- 12:14the best thing it can be.
- 12:20And I said this last night.
- 12:23There's a business plan that you put forth
- 12:26to investors to get them to buy into
- 12:29your idea.
- 12:30And you're probably bragging and making
- 12:33numbers more than unrealistic to get
- 12:38people to buy in thinking that you can
- 12:40make some money doing whatever you're
- 12:42going to do because you're asking them to
- 12:44put money forward to help you.
- 12:46So you are selling.
- 12:48And when you're selling, you are
- 12:50bragging you are overstating you're doing
- 12:54things like that and i said last night
- 12:56i didn't think that if you that would
- 12:59be a document that you would want to
- 13:00be public because you are kind of
- 13:04overreaching on your plan to get people to
- 13:06buy in to what you want to do
- 13:11the fact that it went public is probably
- 13:13not a good thing for him
- 13:15Now,
- 13:15should it be the thing that makes them
- 13:16crumble and walk away?
- 13:18I don't think so.
- 13:24But it would make it more difficult.
- 13:28Jay Birch is asking,
- 13:29wouldn't that make it dishonest?
- 13:32It's like your resume.
- 13:33When you put out a resume and you're
- 13:35trying to get a job,
- 13:37you put the highlights of your career in
- 13:40that resume.
- 13:41You don't tell them about the time you
- 13:43messed up on this document or messed up
- 13:45on this project.
- 13:46You are highlighting yourself so that
- 13:49people buy into you and hire you.
- 13:52In a business plan to investors,
- 13:54you are doing the most optimistic view of
- 13:58what could happen if everything goes
- 14:00right.
- 14:04And I think that that is what has
- 14:06happened here.
- 14:11Yeah.
- 14:14At AI,
- 14:15does Deebs really think it was a good
- 14:17plan?
- 14:18He obviously is coming from a business
- 14:19venture perspective and not what's best
- 14:21for the company, very different avenues.
- 14:25Here's my thing.
- 14:26I think there were good aspects of the
- 14:28plan.
- 14:29And there were things that were completely
- 14:30ridiculous that drove people away as soon
- 14:34as they read them.
- 14:41So I don't think that...
- 14:44I don't know.
- 14:45I don't know how to answer that.
- 14:47I think that there were concepts in there
- 14:49that could be looked at in the future.
- 14:52Like there was a piece in there,
- 14:54and it's hard to say this because it's
- 14:56not available anymore,
- 14:57but there was a piece in there about
- 14:59a tiered affiliate structure.
- 15:01where affiliates who needed more help,
- 15:05more interaction with CrossFit HQ would
- 15:09pay more for that service than an
- 15:11affiliate that didn't need all that stuff.
- 15:14And they would pay a lower fee because
- 15:16they don't need the mentorship, the help,
- 15:19and the interaction.
- 15:22I think that's a better concept than what
- 15:23we have now.
- 15:27Why should a businessman have to pay more
- 15:31like everybody else because we're offering
- 15:33services that they no longer need?
- 15:38That's a cool concept that I think could
- 15:41be looked at by a future owner that
- 15:43would make some changes to the way we
- 15:45do business.
- 15:47But all that's going to get thrown away
- 15:48because of the hike fees to ten thousand
- 15:51dollar bit that's in there.
- 15:53Or, you know,
- 15:54we're going to make we're going to be
- 15:56a billion dollar company five years down
- 15:59the road.
- 16:02people look at those numbers and think
- 16:04this is utterly ridiculous.
- 16:05If you raised a thousand dollars,
- 16:07you're not going to have any affiliates
- 16:08to,
- 16:08to market to and so on and so
- 16:11on and so on.
- 16:12Right.
- 16:13And so that got everybody to hit the
- 16:15stop button before they looked at,
- 16:17maybe there were some things in there that
- 16:19actually did make sense.
- 16:22Um,
- 16:24And that's the argument I was trying to
- 16:25make last night.
- 16:26I do think we need to have someone
- 16:28with an open mind,
- 16:29someone that will look into how we can
- 16:32grow in the future.
- 16:35I do think that going from fifteen
- 16:38thousand affiliates to eight thousand is a
- 16:40horrible trend that someone needs to look
- 16:43at and figure out what are the ways
- 16:46that we can rebound from that.
- 16:49And I don't think just going backwards is
- 16:51the way to do it.
- 16:53I don't know if you can name companies
- 16:57in the past that have gone backwards and
- 17:00been successful at replenishing what they
- 17:03lost.
- 17:05When Greg built this thing,
- 17:07he was the only thing in the space
- 17:09that was doing what he was doing.
- 17:11We don't have that anymore.
- 17:13There is competition now.
- 17:14There's competition for those gym members.
- 17:19So how do we change things just enough
- 17:22to be able to retain who we are,
- 17:25what we do,
- 17:26and show the world that this is better
- 17:29than the other alternatives?
- 17:34And I don't think going backwards alone is
- 17:38the only way out.
- 17:41I think people like Matt Souza have a
- 17:44nice combination of going backwards but
- 17:46looking ahead and making some changes to
- 17:51benefit the company in a way and find
- 17:54new avenues to help support gyms and to
- 17:58help support the members.
- 18:02But Matt doesn't have two hundred million
- 18:04dollars to invest in CrossFit.
- 18:08So how do we find
- 18:12the piece that makes sense, right?
- 18:15Someone who has the money to do it,
- 18:17but has the smarts and the brains and,
- 18:20or maybe hires the right people to come
- 18:23in and make the changes needed to start
- 18:26rebuilding the number of affiliates we
- 18:28have to rebuild the people going into the
- 18:31gyms.
- 18:34And I don't think that any proposal should
- 18:36just be blanketly shut off because
- 18:40Because there's going to be good ideas and
- 18:42bad ideas.
- 18:46And we need to nitpick through what we
- 18:49have to filter out the good and get
- 18:53rid of the bad ideas and put together
- 18:56some kind of compilation of a plan that
- 18:59works.
- 19:00And if it's the existing people there,
- 19:03because, you know,
- 19:06Wade has said in other messages that I've
- 19:08seen that, you know,
- 19:10there are no other buyers.
- 19:12He was it.
- 19:12He was the last hope for CrossFit.
- 19:15So if it's staying with Berkshire and it's
- 19:19staying with Don Fall,
- 19:21can they take some of the things they've
- 19:23seen in business plans that made sense,
- 19:26weed out all the bad and start making
- 19:29the changes necessary to move forward as a
- 19:32company?
- 19:34Because I don't want CrossFit to be the
- 19:36next blockbuster or to be the next company
- 19:39that refused to change and then just died
- 19:42on the vine.
- 19:44Nobody wants that to happen.
- 19:54CrossFit says, here's the issue.
- 19:56You don't need to be a CrossFit affiliate
- 19:58to do functional fitness now.
- 19:59That's my point.
- 20:00There is competition.
- 20:03But the name CrossFit still means
- 20:05something.
- 20:06The name CrossFit still means something.
- 20:11So how do we show that to the
- 20:12world?
- 20:23Frida says,
- 20:24here is one lower affiliate fee added fees
- 20:27per one local affiliate.
- 20:32No, I don't know.
- 20:34Added fees per extra service wanted
- 20:36needed.
- 20:39Yeah,
- 20:39I think that goes back to what the
- 20:41tier piece of the business plan was.
- 20:51i agree crossfit i do crossfit at for
- 20:53free at five a.m squat club it's a
- 20:55live workout with high level coaching i'm
- 21:00curious what the mindset will be from hq
- 21:02fall if it's not selling as far as
- 21:04how much effort they will be willing to
- 21:06put forth the one thing i'll say about
- 21:08crossfit is they've made changes over the
- 21:10last eight to nine months they've made
- 21:12significant changes in the way they do
- 21:14business
- 21:17Can they keep that momentum rolling
- 21:20without a sale?
- 21:21I don't know.
- 21:22I don't know what that is.
- 21:25I hope so.
- 21:27I hope they say, listen,
- 21:28we need to back off the sale.
- 21:30We need to look at everything and we
- 21:31need to make some changes to increase the
- 21:34value of the company.
- 21:38And then maybe we put it up for
- 21:39sale in a couple more years.
- 21:45Becoming a Mayhem affiliate makes a lot of
- 21:47sense.
- 21:50I'd have to see more about what Mayhem
- 21:52is doing.
- 21:55It's easy to be critical of the thing
- 22:01that exists.
- 22:04But it's much harder to then implement a
- 22:09plan, an organization,
- 22:11a system that is better than the one
- 22:14that is already there.
- 22:16I mean,
- 22:17just look at the WFP that made all
- 22:19these promises that they were going to be
- 22:21better than CrossFit at,
- 22:23and they haven't been able to hold up
- 22:24to any one of those promises.
- 22:35Vicky,
- 22:36the name of CrossFit should mean more than
- 22:40just a workout like it used to.
- 22:42The way that Doc spells it out,
- 22:44it would be just another workout.
- 22:48I don't think we can read that much
- 22:49into a doc.
- 22:50I mean,
- 22:52what CrossFit used to be is more of
- 22:54an emotion than it is.
- 22:55And how do you read emotion into words?
- 23:00So I don't know.
- 23:03I hear what you're saying,
- 23:04and I like the fact of going back
- 23:07to being more of like more than just
- 23:11a workout.
- 23:11I get that point.
- 23:15But I still think you need to look
- 23:16at different avenues and ways of doing
- 23:18business.
- 23:21And my point last night was just because
- 23:23someone else is doing it doesn't mean that
- 23:25you give up that market share to somebody
- 23:28else.
- 23:29The whole online piece, everybody's like,
- 23:31well, stream yards are stream yard.
- 23:34Street parking is already doing that.
- 23:38Well,
- 23:38it doesn't mean that CrossFit with its
- 23:40name can't enter that market and do
- 23:42something better than that.
- 23:52the value of the name comes down to
- 23:54the value of the brand and what sets
- 23:55us apart.
- 23:56Unfortunately,
- 23:57we haven't been leaning into that enough.
- 23:59And Deeb sounds like he wants to remove
- 24:00even more of that.
- 24:02Well, from everything I've said,
- 24:04Deeb's is gone.
- 24:05Deeb's is out.
- 24:07He doesn't,
- 24:07he's not a part of this anymore.
- 24:09So we don't even have to factor that
- 24:11in,
- 24:11but it doesn't mean that it doesn't mean
- 24:17that we can't have a discussion of things
- 24:20that need to change and take the good
- 24:22parts of a plan out of it.
- 24:27David Reed, rich is greater than well.
- 24:33It's easy to say that as an athlete,
- 24:35as a guy who runs a gym,
- 24:38but what has Rich or Austin or Rory
- 24:43told us about what's going on there from
- 24:45anything greater than what they already
- 24:47are?
- 24:50I have not heard a plan from them
- 24:51at all to just jump over from CrossFit
- 24:55to a mayhem and affiliate doesn't seem
- 24:58practical on my part until I see more.
- 25:10Seema Boobs, courtesy of Vindicate.
- 25:13Sister works out in her garage with a
- 25:15remote coach.
- 25:16I would call it functional fitness.
- 25:17The problem is that CrossFit would call
- 25:20that CrossFit.
- 25:21They think they have something they don't.
- 25:26Again, you're exactly right.
- 25:28They do not have a trademark they can
- 25:30lean on,
- 25:32but they do have a name that means
- 25:35something to a lot of people.
- 25:37It
- 25:41There are other people that could care
- 25:43less than what they're doing is called
- 25:44CrossFit.
- 25:46But you have to show that what you're
- 25:48doing means something.
- 25:52Shanna says emotion is punctuation marks.
- 25:59It's still not as readable as a face
- 26:01or body language.
- 26:06Vicky, I agree with you there.
- 26:07I think there are some good ideas in
- 26:09that document.
- 26:11That's all I'm saying is let's just take
- 26:12a step back.
- 26:13Now that we know Deebs is out and
- 26:15this plan is not going to come to
- 26:17fruition,
- 26:18it was out there as some ideas that
- 26:20were floated.
- 26:21It doesn't mean that everything in the
- 26:24document was bad.
- 26:26Why can't we pick through it,
- 26:29find stuff that is interesting,
- 26:32find stuff that actually could make sense?
- 26:35Maybe if you pull it back a tick,
- 26:37it really makes sense.
- 26:40I hate the idea that you say, okay,
- 26:43we're going to sell Onnit protein powder
- 26:46and...
- 26:47we're going to do a mass buy so
- 26:51that the affiliates can get it and you're
- 26:53going to sell on it protein power at
- 26:56your affiliates.
- 26:57I hate that that's mandated,
- 26:59but I like the idea of doing partnerships
- 27:01with those types of companies where you
- 27:04have the buying power of a big company
- 27:06and then people can come in and get
- 27:09supplements to sell at their affiliate at
- 27:11a cheaper price.
- 27:14Like that makes sense to me,
- 27:16but not mandating that you sell that
- 27:18protein powder,
- 27:21but using HQ's partnerships and purchase
- 27:25power to get things cheaper to be able
- 27:28to sell at your affiliate if you wish
- 27:30to.
- 27:34So taking that one idea from Deeb's
- 27:37business plan and pulling it back a touch
- 27:41to something that's more reasonable and
- 27:43makes sense for the affiliates,
- 27:46why can't something like that be done?
- 27:51As an affiliate,
- 27:52and say you're a bigger affiliate of three
- 27:54hundred members,
- 27:56you don't have the purchasing power of
- 27:58CrossFit HQ with eight thousand affiliates
- 28:02times a hundred members.
- 28:06And if they can supply that purchasing
- 28:09power to make things more cost effective
- 28:13for the affiliates to then sell at their
- 28:16locations because they want to,
- 28:19not because they have to,
- 28:21I think that makes sense.
- 28:26So there's a lot of those little things
- 28:29within that document that I think if we're
- 28:32just tweaked a tiny bit would make sense
- 28:37and could be implemented.
- 28:39And there are other things in there that
- 28:40are completely outrageous that you can
- 28:43toss away.
- 28:49And so...
- 28:52it was hard to kind of communicate that
- 28:54last night because I was arguing with
- 28:57Jamie a lot and with Carolyn a little
- 28:59bit.
- 29:00And, and so I wanted to,
- 29:03and now that it's all done and Deebner's
- 29:05apparently out, none of it,
- 29:08none of it makes sense anymore.
- 29:10that we get worked up over this.
- 29:13Now that we're not worked up and it's
- 29:14not going to be implemented,
- 29:16let's take a step back and look at
- 29:18maybe what we can retrieve from this
- 29:21document and what can be used as a
- 29:25good idea moving forward.
- 29:33Ortega,
- 29:33a lot of affiliates already buy products
- 29:35wholesale and become distributors.
- 29:37Right.
- 29:38But wholesale can mean different things
- 29:40depending on the purchasing power and the
- 29:42size of the entity buying it.
- 29:45And if you are tens of thousands of
- 29:49people you're buying it for,
- 29:51as opposed to a couple hundred,
- 29:53your purchasing power becomes a lot
- 29:55greater.
- 30:00CrossFit, I know.
- 30:02He wanted to turn it into MLM.
- 30:04I do not want that to happen.
- 30:06I'm taking that idea and tweaking it into
- 30:08a way that actually makes sense.
- 30:17RX for Time,
- 30:18that document was a complete brain dump,
- 30:20so it was kind of inevitable that some
- 30:22ideas would be good.
- 30:25However it got on the page...
- 30:28doesn't really matter if the idea is good.
- 30:37So I guess what I'm saying is let's
- 30:41not look at the source and let's just
- 30:43look at the ideas and what can be
- 30:46taken from that.
- 30:53Is that concept the same thing as Advocare
- 30:55thing they did back when?
- 31:02Advocare was a complete MLM.
- 31:03I do not think they should go into
- 31:05an MLM.
- 31:07Multi-level marketing is a pyramid scheme
- 31:11in a way that the people at the
- 31:13top make a lot of money.
- 31:14The people at the bottom of the pyramid
- 31:16do not.
- 31:17There's a lot of pyramid schemes out there
- 31:19that disguise themselves as other things.
- 31:22I do not think they should do that.
- 31:25But using your purchasing power is a
- 31:27different concept.
- 31:29It's not... It's not that...
- 31:33It's not that CrossFit is using the
- 31:35purchasing power to make the most money at
- 31:37the top of the pyramid.
- 31:40It's they're using the purchasing power to
- 31:42make your affiliate fee more valuable and
- 31:45you wanting to be a part of it.
- 31:50It's adding value to the affiliate fee.
- 31:54It's not CrossFit taking extra profit off
- 31:59the top of the purchasing power.
- 32:01It's just doing the purchasing power to
- 32:03make your affiliate fee more valuable to
- 32:07the affiliate owner.
- 32:16Seema Boobs, courtesy of Vindicate,
- 32:18you're far too logical for OG CrossFit
- 32:20fans.
- 32:20They thrive on emotion.
- 32:25What I'm banking on is that today when
- 32:27we know that there is nobody behind this
- 32:28plan and this plan is going nowhere,
- 32:31we don't have to add emotion to it
- 32:32because there's no threat to it.
- 32:35There's no threat to this document
- 32:37anymore.
- 32:38There's just thoughts on paper,
- 32:41and some of those thoughts may actually be
- 32:43good.
- 32:44So why throw it all away for nothing,
- 32:47right?
- 32:57Sarah Cox,
- 32:58why not sell products to members that
- 33:00they're already buying and pump that money
- 33:02back to affiliates?
- 33:04That's kind of what I'm saying, Sarah,
- 33:05exactly.
- 33:07And you're a business owner.
- 33:09You know if like CrossFit HQ came to
- 33:11you and said, hey,
- 33:13we have a group of eight thousand
- 33:15affiliates who want to sell X product.
- 33:20Their purchasing power on the amount of
- 33:22product that they would purchase would
- 33:25make it easier for you to sell that
- 33:28to them cheaper than selling to an
- 33:30affiliate of three hundred.
- 33:33So the people are already using the
- 33:36product in the gym.
- 33:37You're just finding a way to make it
- 33:39cheaper and the affiliates giving them the
- 33:42ability to sell it at a cheaper price
- 33:44to their members and make becoming a gym
- 33:47member a better value,
- 33:49making paying an affiliate fee a better
- 33:51value, all of that.
- 33:59Okay.
- 34:03OG CrossFit just want to be stuck in
- 34:05two thousand fourteen.
- 34:08People love this thing called CrossFit.
- 34:12They get emotional about it.
- 34:14They want to be a part of it.
- 34:16And because they were there in the
- 34:18beginning,
- 34:19they they feel like they are a part
- 34:22of the the group that took on the
- 34:25world and won.
- 34:27I get it.
- 34:28I was one of the first members in
- 34:30my affiliate in two thousand eleven and I
- 34:33felt like I owned the joint.
- 34:35Every time there was a big decision,
- 34:38me and my friends would give our advice
- 34:39to the owner.
- 34:40And what I learned is I didn't pay
- 34:43a dime for that.
- 34:44And it's really up to them how they
- 34:46want to run their business.
- 34:49And so sometimes you have to take a
- 34:51step back and pull the emotion out of
- 34:54it and understand that you can be someone
- 34:57who gives advice,
- 34:59but you can't really tell them what to
- 35:01do.
- 35:04And I think that that happens a lot
- 35:06of times in CrossFit.
- 35:10As you can tell,
- 35:11when that document was released yesterday,
- 35:14so many people were interested.
- 35:15So many people had an opinion.
- 35:17So many people said what their opinion
- 35:19was.
- 35:28But to PE,
- 35:29adding value means I need to be paid
- 35:30more.
- 35:34But in what way?
- 35:37If your affiliate fee then becomes worth
- 35:40more and more gyms sign up with the
- 35:42affiliate fee, you are getting paid more.
- 35:47Just because you're not siphoning money
- 35:49off of everything that you're doing
- 35:51doesn't mean that you're not making money.
- 36:00Jay Birch X asks, like peptides.
- 36:02Listen,
- 36:03peptides are legal unless you're competing
- 36:05in CrossFit.
- 36:08If it's legal,
- 36:09why can't it be sold in the gym?
- 36:11There are people that have low T,
- 36:14that do testosterone, replacement therapy.
- 36:18There are people that use peptides to
- 36:20recover from injuries.
- 36:21If you are not competing in CrossFit,
- 36:24I don't understand why there is such a
- 36:27stigma.
- 36:29If you're an athlete trying to compete,
- 36:32don't take them.
- 36:35But when Joe Blow had elbow surgery and
- 36:40wants to recover faster,
- 36:42and it's completely legal in this country,
- 36:45why would you not consider it?
- 36:50And maybe you have something against it.
- 36:52I don't know.
- 36:54But...
- 36:55Dude, I'm fifty five years old.
- 36:57I want to feel as good as I
- 36:58can moving forward.
- 37:00If it helps me recover from a surgery
- 37:02and helps me do my day to day
- 37:04life better.
- 37:08I'm all for it.
- 37:13In Europe, they are not.
- 37:15OK, well, that's a problem there,
- 37:16but in the United States, not a problem.
- 37:27But CrossFit won't let you compete in the
- 37:31Open if you take peptides.
- 37:36CrossFit can change that rule any year,
- 37:39any time.
- 37:47They can remove it from the banned
- 37:49substance list tomorrow if they wish to.
- 37:56So I don't know.
- 38:01The other thing is, let's be honest.
- 38:03There are people taking testosterone all
- 38:05over the place because they have low T
- 38:08and they're competing in the open.
- 38:09They just don't go onto a podcast and
- 38:10admit they've done it.
- 38:12And they're never going to go to the
- 38:14CrossFit games.
- 38:15They're never going to go to semifinals.
- 38:16They're just trying to live life.
- 38:20And we probably shouldn't be turning those
- 38:22people away from doing the open either.
- 38:31Phil the Pooper,
- 38:32I thought it was for rats.
- 38:36Everybody take them.
- 38:37Rats, people, everything.
- 38:43Unless CrossFit partners with a peptide
- 38:45company, they can do what they want,
- 38:48really.
- 38:53I mean, technically,
- 38:54CrossFit could partner with a peptide
- 38:56company.
- 38:57They can change the banned substance list
- 38:59tomorrow.
- 39:12I don't have a stigma.
- 39:15I don't care about peptides,
- 39:16says Jay Birch.
- 39:22Amanda Fillers,
- 39:23they can do whatever they want.
- 39:24It's their game, their rules.
- 39:28And if they find that medically it's
- 39:30better to take a peptide to recover and
- 39:33that they should be allowing them more
- 39:35often, then take a peptide.
- 39:42Now,
- 39:43from a performance enhancement standpoint,
- 39:46testosterone is a whole different story.
- 39:50But for a peptide,
- 39:51if you're just using it to recover from
- 39:53an injury and you're just trying to live
- 39:55life, use it.
- 39:59Use it.
- 40:07So here we stand.
- 40:09We had a ton of drama on a
- 40:11Sunday.
- 40:12By Monday, the person is out.
- 40:15The document has been pulled.
- 40:19Who knows where we're going to be
- 40:20tomorrow?
- 40:23At this point,
- 40:24I just kind of hope they don't sell
- 40:26and the people keep making changes and
- 40:29keep trying to do better.
- 40:32At least there's effort.
- 40:33It's like when a football...
- 40:34I was listening to football shows
- 40:37yesterday and they talked about that this
- 40:40guy had had to fill in on defense.
- 40:42And the best thing about him is that
- 40:44he went a hundred miles an hour with
- 40:46full effort.
- 40:47Now, was he perfect every play?
- 40:50No.
- 40:50But if you're going with full effort...
- 40:54you can make up for some of the
- 40:55mistakes he makes.
- 41:01And CrossFit has been,
- 41:02in the last few months,
- 41:04going at what I deem to be full
- 41:06effort.
- 41:07And if they keep going at full effort,
- 41:10then that's something that's going right.
- 41:12Now it's just fine-tuning it to do just
- 41:17a little bit better.
- 41:27Jaybird says they're never going to be
- 41:28tested.
- 41:29They won't be.
- 41:30I mean,
- 41:31I'm never getting tested in the open ever.
- 41:37I wish there were peptides in a pill
- 41:40form at the same potency as a shot.
- 41:42I can't give myself shots.
- 41:47Rx for Time, like soccer parents,
- 41:49we know exactly what to do.
- 41:50They just need to ask us.
- 41:52I know.
- 41:53I'd never watched a soccer game until my
- 41:55daughter started playing,
- 41:57and I yelled at the refs all the
- 41:59time about what they called incorrectly.
- 42:02And honest to God,
- 42:04before my daughter played,
- 42:05I couldn't even tell you one rule about
- 42:07soccer.
- 42:07But two weeks in,
- 42:08I knew all of them and that the
- 42:10refs didn't.
- 42:12I am completely with you.
- 42:17So with that,
- 42:19Don't forget to get your Thirdsy so you
- 42:21can sleep better, recover better.
- 42:24It doesn't have melatonin.
- 42:25It doesn't have that melatonin hangover.
- 42:28It's so nice.
- 42:29Last night it was so cold and heating
- 42:32my milk up and then mixing it with
- 42:34my salted caramel chocolate Thirdsy was a
- 42:37really nice bedtime treat.
- 42:40Use code Jazzy to get yourself fifteen
- 42:43percent off.
- 42:44Go to Thirdsy.com backslash Jazzy and
- 42:48check out that product.
- 42:51With that, it's been a fun lunch,
- 42:54nice discussion.
- 42:55Can't wait to talk to you guys tomorrow.
- 42:58We will see you all tomorrow on Lunch
- 43:02with the Clydesdale.
- 43:03Bye, guys.
