- 5:50So you just get a little different version over here on
- 5:52Wednesdays today, if you've been checking the social media, we
- 5:56launched it packs the canvas. One of my sports shows segments
- 6:00that I have been looking at for a few years.
- 6:04Big Dre has been a part of that last couple of years.
- 6:07And you know, we just been going at it back and forth and an
- 6:10opportunity came up. And so here we are doing some
- 6:13more segments around the bags of canvas.
- 6:16Shouts out to Robert Lamar. So catch us over there again on
- 6:20sports collective, TV, media, radio.
- 6:23We do all types of sports, all different sports.
- 6:26So we got football, baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer,
- 6:29badminton, whatever sports you play, there's a score, there's a
- 6:32count, there's a conversation around it.
- 6:34And now you can have that conversation with us here.
- 6:36But the bags to canvas very, very, very important show for us
- 6:41here again, because of just what we're up to in the community,
- 6:45these boxers sharing their stories, getting the back story.
- 6:47So we're going to have some conversations today.
- 6:49I got Big Dre in the audience down there.
- 6:51Star Michael is here as well. We wait for Jeff Davis himself
- 6:55to come here on the deck. So I'm a line of deck up in the
- 6:57second. Again, if you have any questions
- 7:01about the causes, there's some conversation I have in the world
- 7:03as well. One of those is sickle cell
- 7:05trait awareness. Very important.
- 7:07That is my life purpose, advocating for sickle cell trait
- 7:11on my way to Nigeria, Lagos in December for the first time when
- 7:16I did my research, my sickle cell trait is, is from that
- 7:20area. So I'm going over there to, to,
- 7:23to visit, do some work, speak to some colleges and some schools
- 7:26and the community about sickle cell trade.
- 7:28Nigeria's number one with sickle cell trade.
- 7:32However, there are other countries as well, Saudi Arabia,
- 7:36Ghana, we got just multiple here in United States, they say about
- 7:423.5 million people have sickle cell trade.
- 7:45Nigeria is about 330,000,000 plus.
- 7:48So, you know, and it just breaks down that way.
- 7:50So I'm getting opportunity to go there this December.
- 7:55If you want more information about that, it's WDCON set.org.
- 7:59I'm going to play my PSA, come back and get the deck lined up
- 8:02again. Thank you for tuning us and then
- 8:03watching the front doors issue right here on the Military
- 8:06Broadcast Radio Network. Let me get this PSA up here real
- 8:09quick. All right, here we go.
- 8:30Hey. Mister Man, how you doing?
- 8:46You really want to know. Exhaustion, muscle spasm,
- 8:54Asthmatic issues, unexpected sickle cell trait typing.
- 8:58Damn are. You serious?
- 9:00When I was young I found out I had sickle cell trait.
- 9:03My mom's told me. But I didn't have no knowledge
- 9:05of it. But when I got older I had a
- 9:06child and the doctor told me my daughter had sickle cell trait.
- 9:09Do you know the fact that both parents have sickle cell trait?
- 9:12There's a 50% chance the child may have the trait and 25%
- 9:16chance the child may have the disease.
- 9:17And that's what's the count. Do you know that 2.5 million
- 9:20people in the United States have sickle cell trait?
- 9:22300 million people globally. I didn't find out I had sickle
- 9:25cell trait until I was in the Army 10 years.
- 9:27Next thing you know I had a sickle cell trait exertion site.
- 9:30I thought that was a. Black Gene.
- 9:32Or something. Nah man, the black community is
- 9:34number 21 out of 36,000 babies are being born with sickle cell
- 9:38disease. You could be Caucasian,
- 9:40Mediterranean, European. You got rid.
- 9:42Of a bloodline man, there is an inherited gene in our community
- 9:48that has been forgotten. The name is sickle cell trait.
- 9:51WDCONSCT, also known as What's the Count, is out to bring
- 9:56awareness, education and prevention to people all over
- 9:59the globe. Want more information?

- 11:192. That's right.
- 11:20So here in Fontana, here in San Diego County, we are bringing
- 11:23awareness to the Latin community, Hispanic community
- 11:25because they are #2 with sickle cell trade awareness.
- 11:27So we just want to make sure we have that conversation.
- 11:30All right, So let's just get right to it.

- 14:01What do you want to say Big Dre about?
- 14:02This well, you know, I want to first of all give thanks to God,

- 15:05Go, go, go ahead. Go ahead, Go ahead.
- 15:09No. I just want to say thanks again,
- 15:10big Dre. You know, this is this is
- 15:12something exciting. We had a we had a few
- 15:14conversations with myself and you and Robert Lamar and Jeff
- 15:17Davis me now meeting, you know, star Michael this this
- 15:20afternoon, man, just what what do you what do you want to start
- 15:25with this conversation man with. Man, all I know is that the
- 15:28dream that Mister Davis had of doing something the right way.
- 15:32I'm being real. No disrespect of the promotional
- 15:34companies out there, but I think but Mr. Davis doing this the
- 15:38right way with with Jeff Davis promotions is that we learned
- 15:41that the game of boxing is here to stand.
- 15:44And, and we're going to we're going to do some of these famous
- 15:46stars get one on on the on the on the on the show right now
- 15:50who's incredible and Mr. Davis putting that together, a
- 15:53phenomenal card with some good background and support.
- 15:56We doing our best, you know, and I, I love it.
- 15:58We have some great, great fighters fans.
- 16:00I have a list of them. I'm we're going to go over
- 16:021,000,000 Mr. Davis together and go for the fighters we got.
- 16:05And but my, my, my first question goes to Mr. Star
- 16:09Michael, you know, when, when you got the level of boxing?
- 16:11When did Mr. Casa Moore came on? Come on board and become your,
- 16:15your trainer. Is he your manager or just
- 16:17trainer? Yeah, Could you work Casa Mayo
- 16:19as my trainer? I'm I'm I got, I got to know
- 16:25Casa Mayo when I was 3 and O and we've had like 9 fights together
- 16:31and it's been victory all along. He's a legend in the spot.
- 16:35He knows what he's doing and he's always happy.
- 16:38If I take a peep right now at him, you'll see him jumping
- 16:41around and probably, you know, he's always happy and we can
- 16:47push it, but it's a little bit noisy.
- 16:49Let me let me go so he can say hi.
- 16:52The world can say yes Sir, the famous legend.
- 16:56Yes, the first hall of family is right there in the flesh coming
- 17:00up, you know, phenomenal. This is the.
- 17:04Frondoze show right here on the military broadcast rail network.

- 17:10Michael at the gym. Get the back together.

- 18:04brother? Yeah, sorry, you said what?
- 18:08Is is Michael Hunter around? Yeah, he's around.
- 18:11He's in the ring. Let me go close and then let's

- 20:00Come get them. Let me get.
- 20:03Mr. Mr. Davis, you know you, you're the the, the founder of
- 20:06this conversation. Give us some background of who
- 20:09you are and how we got to this point today.
- 20:12Wow. Well today I made 62 years old.
- 20:16I am the youngest son of of Grace and Andrew Davis who hail
- 20:19from Atlanta, GA. And I'm the youngest of 6 that
- 20:23was born and raised here in Los Angeles and born in Los Angeles
- 20:27and raised in a beautiful city of Carson, which is less than 3
- 20:29miles, actually less than one mile, actually less than that.
- 20:33An inch away from Long Beach where the venue is going to be
- 20:35held, where the venue is, where the where the boxing match is
- 20:38going to be held on November 7th at 3 PMII left Carson, went to
- 20:44Gardena High School, left Carson and went to a city of Pasadena,
- 20:50met my former wife, lived in Pasadena, Arcadia for a number
- 20:53of years, then relocated to Las Vegas, NV.
- 20:57It was there at that time, excuse me, when Sam Watson had
- 21:01gotten involved in boxing and and Floyd, go ahead, I'm sorry.
- 21:07No this background go ahead. And Floyd Mayweather literally
- 21:10lived right around the corner from me.
- 21:12At the time, I was living in a community off of Fort Apache and
- 21:16Flamingo and Floyd lived off of the street called El Capitan and
- 21:21Tropicana. So I used to always see Floyd at
- 21:23church. And, and then years later when I
- 21:27relocated back to Los Angeles, I continued my real estate
- 21:30mortgage and, and other financial endeavors.
- 21:33And Sam Watson, who's a dear friend of mine, I've known Sam
- 21:36Watson for over 40 years and I know a lot of people.
- 21:39I probably have about 5000 people in my phone.
- 21:42And that's that's. That's no.
- 21:43Joke Literally 5000 people in my phone, but there are very few
- 21:47people that I would get off the phone to answer a call, and
- 21:51that's Sam Watson. That's Sam Watson.
- 21:54Or son Brandon or son Marcus, or Dre, or you and a few other
- 21:58guys, little brother James Farr. And the reason why Because I
- 22:01know when they're calling me, they're calling me about
- 22:03something. And even those who do call me,
- 22:05if I don't get a chance to answer their phone call right
- 22:07then I will call you back. But Sam Watson was very
- 22:11instrumental. He came to me and said, Jeff,
- 22:13have you considered becoming a manager in this business of
- 22:16boxing? I think that you would do very
- 22:18well at it. And I contemplated it because I
- 22:20always wanted to be a Don Kingish right or Butch Lewis
- 22:24Lewis Ish right, or even a what's the gentleman's name that
- 22:28owns And I have his his photograph in my head.
- 22:31I used to see him all the time because he resides in in Las
- 22:34Vegas, NV Bob Aaron you. See Bob Aaron.
- 22:37All the time in Las Vegas, right?
- 22:40And so I said, Sam, that sounds like a great idea.
- 22:42I said, let me investigate him and I thought about, I said, you
- 22:45know, being a being a boxing manager, I could get fired at
- 22:49any will. It's it's an AT wheel contract,
- 22:51right. I said I'm probably more suited
- 22:54as a boxing promoter. And what did I say that for?
- 22:57He said, all right, Jeff. Well, if you're going to do it,
- 22:59you got to make sure that you do it right, because it's it's a
- 23:02it's very expensive. Everybody's going to have their
- 23:06hand out because you're, you're, you're the new kid on the block.
- 23:09And I said, Sam, I'm accustomed to being the new kid on the
- 23:12block. When I was an NBA sports agent,
- 23:15I was, I was certified around the time Jay-Z was certified,
- 23:18around the time Juan Perez was certified.
- 23:20As a matter of fact, Juan Perez is Jay-Z right hand man.
- 23:23And I know why. Juan and I were in New York for
- 23:26NBA certification where they were sharing with us what the
- 23:30collective bargaining would be for the following year.
- 23:32So I'm always, I've always been accustomed to dealing with
- 23:35things from, from the genesis of, of, of an endeavor.
- 23:40And so when I started out with this, I was like, OK, it's going
- 23:42to be very expensive. So I took my time in 2019, we
- 23:46were going to do our 2019 lead into 2020 where we're going to
- 23:49do our first promotional show. Unfortunately, we had we had, we
- 23:54had COVID, which had us take a step back.
- 23:58So when we took that step back, I did a reassessment of my life
- 24:01and what I was doing and what really meant what really meant
- 24:03something to me. And then another friend of mine
- 24:06by the name of Tony, who used to put on the Strolls boxing
- 24:10tournaments was like, Jeff, what we're going to do this?
- 24:12We got to make sure that we do it right.
- 24:14So Sam Watson was the most influential person in my life to
- 24:18tell me that I could do it. And I love Sam Watson because he
- 24:22knows me for who I am and for a brother of that caliber that
- 24:25I've known for 40 years to tell me, Jeff, you have what it
- 24:28takes. Now, mind you, Sam works with Al
- 24:31Heyman. Between Sam Watson and Al
- 24:34Heyman, they control boxing. They have probably, Drake,
- 24:38correct me on this if I'm wrong, maybe 300 fighters.
- 24:42So you cannot, you cannot be in the game without knowing who Sam
- 24:47Watson and Al Haymon are, right. And so let me just Fast forward.
- 24:51So I was on AI like to fly private.
- 24:53So I rent a jet probably two or three times a year, right?
- 24:57So I was on a jet headed to my daughter, used to go to
- 25:00University of Arizona, U of A Yeah, that's a Tucson.
- 25:04So I would fly. I had an office in Scottsdale,
- 25:06AZ and I would fly from LA to Scottsdale hangout.
- 25:11And this particular time I had gotten on the plane with someone
- 25:14who was in boxing and we were talking.
- 25:17He was like, man, you know, have you ever considered pursuing
- 25:19boxing? I said, you know, it's
- 25:20interesting that you say that because a dear friend of mine
- 25:22wanted me to become a manager and I had endeavours to become a
- 25:25promoter. So then some more time passed
- 25:28and then I called Sam Watts and Sam said, Jeff, Are you ready?
- 25:31I said, Sam, I'm ready. So this year I start putting my
- 25:34pieces together. Now, mind you, boxing is a fluid
- 25:39industry. Today you can have a heavyweight
- 25:42that's on your team and 15 minutes from now he he doesn't
- 25:45know you. I had a chance to speak.
- 25:47I had a chance to speak to Don King, what, 3 weeks ago, Dre,
- 25:51maybe 4 weeks ago at a few days after his birthday and Don
- 25:56talked to me and he and he spent five with me 5 minutes with me
- 25:59on the phone and he gave me a litany, a litany of, of, of
- 26:04instructions to do to become very successful in his business.
- 26:07In fact, I'm going to speak to Don King again probably this
- 26:10week or next week to let him know where I am in, in doing
- 26:13what I'm doing. So let me just Fast forward
- 26:15because I want, I don't want Philip Buster here.
- 26:17And so I decided to, to, to reach out to the people that I
- 26:20knew that knew boxing. Now Dre is my eyes and my ears.
- 26:24When? It comes to box, right?
- 26:26I'll call Dre and say Dre, who is this person right here?
- 26:29And Dre can give you stat for stat for stat for stat.
- 26:32I am the business guy. I am the numbers guy.
- 26:35I'm the guy that puts the that puts the money together to make
- 26:37these things happen. Dre is the guy that knows all of
- 26:41these guys. I have really no interest in,
- 26:43in, in, in knowing people's name.
- 26:45And I'm going to be candid with you.
- 26:47I really have no interest. Yeah, I really have no interest
- 26:50in knowing your stats. My interest is making in making
- 26:53sure that I put you in the right environment to be successful so
- 26:58that you can graduate and grow. And Michael and I were on the
- 27:01phone the other day and Michael can attest.
- 27:02Add to this, as we were trying to find a match for him, our
- 27:06matchmakers are barring on some of the best in the business.
- 27:09We don't. We don't give our.
- 27:10Fighters easy. Fights our fighters.
- 27:12Michael doesn't want an easy fight.
- 27:13Michael wants a fight that's going to challenge him, but at
- 27:16the same time, we want to make sure that whatever fight we put
- 27:19him in, that's also going to advance him up the ranks too as
- 27:21well. And so therefore I locked in
- 27:23with Dre. I asked Dre to come and help me.
- 27:25He graciously did. And so we put our pieces around
- 27:28Dre and his knowledge and then around my business acumen and
- 27:32then around to other people. And then this is where we are
- 27:35now. And that's why everyone needs to
- 27:36run out right now and go get your tickets for
- 27:39nosafecorner.com. November the 7th.
- 27:42It's going to be fantastic and we're going to have some
- 27:44wonderful people there. I'm not going to tell you what
- 27:47celebrities are going to be there, but I got a call or text
- 27:49today for my birthday from a world renowned trainer,
- 27:53Phenomenal guy. He just trained a guy to a, to a
- 27:55world record about a month and 1/2 or so ago.
- 27:58So I'll see you there, my brother.
- 27:59I got you. Good man, Jeff, man, thank you
- 28:03so much for for setting the table and letting us know how
- 28:06this came about. A lot of work as you said, and
- 28:10of course, Big Dre. I mean, who got Big Dre?
- 28:13Man, that guy right there is amazing.
- 28:18And, and I and I met Drake through Sam Watson.
- 28:21I met Big. Drake. 151515 I met I met Drake
- 28:29through through through Sam Watson.
- 28:31So Sam Watson and and then I'll let someone else take the floor.
- 28:35Sam Watson has insulated me around some of the best and
- 28:38brightest people in the business.
- 28:41The best and brightest in the business.
- 28:43If I succeed, I did it because he put the best people around
- 28:48me. If I if I happen not to succeed,
- 28:52then it's because I missed a step and I didn't do according
- 28:56to what the plan was laid out for me to do Period.
- 28:59Period. And that's why I'm here.
- 29:01If he's, if he falls, I'm right to the kitchen.
- 29:03That's how you're supposed to do it.
- 29:05Too much too. Much I'm not going to fall.
- 29:07I may lean, but I'm not. Yeah, I'm sorry you're going to
- 29:11leave. He'll leave, but like maybe
- 29:12Lean, let me get started. Let me get started on the deck.
- 29:16Start, man, give me, give me some background.
- 29:18Let the people know who you are, man.
- 29:19Give us some background growing up.
- 29:22Michael Star Michael Shooting Stars.
- 29:25That's what I call myself, my shooting stars originally from
- 29:29Nigeria, born and brought up in Lagos.
- 29:32I left Nigeria so I've been fighting all my life.
- 29:35I'm a fighter and I'm not talking anyone in and out of
- 29:39boxing. What have I achieved in my life
- 29:41in terms of how far I came, has already qualified me to be a
- 29:46champion. I know that and I don't need
- 29:49anybody to verify that. I don't need no bail to verify
- 29:52that. I don't need anybody's opinion
- 29:54to verify that. I believe that.
- 29:57So a boy of 40 years old, he left Nigeria, woke up and left
- 30:01the spirit and it's like I came from a family of nine.
- 30:04I'm #7 I woke up 1 morning and I'm like, I'm done with all this
- 30:09bullshit and I'm sorry, I said I'm done and I left and I came
- 30:13back. So I took like 5 years before I
- 30:16reached out to my dad and my mom.
- 30:18They actually thought I was dead because they didn't hear from me
- 30:20for five years, a 14 year boy. So my mom felt like somebody
- 30:25came back to life, you know, she was too excited.
- 30:28And now five years, I went through a lot, I slept on the
- 30:31street, I went through a lot, I did a lot of stuff.
- 30:34I had freedom and then I know freedom is not free from that.
- 30:37Five years. So I did all of that and then I
- 30:41finally made it to Asia where I met my wife.
- 30:45I have 4 bouncing baby boy right now, strong soldiers.
- 30:49And during the COVID, I said to my wife, what's up?
- 30:53If I'm going to really grow big and boxing, I need to go to the
- 30:57United States and compete with the lions themselves.
- 31:01And four years ago and she said let's go.
- 31:05My wife listen to me. She trust me because she's a
- 31:07miracle. She called me a prophet.
- 31:10I can't speak and it happens. So we came over to the state.
- 31:14The 1st place I came was the Mayweather Boxing Gym.
- 31:18The first person I spot was Mayweather.
- 31:20And now my train with Boozer Edward, former world champion
- 31:24back in those days. And then I met Castamayo.
- 31:28I work with Joey Castamayo right now.
- 31:30And it's it's all, it's all been, you know, glory for me.
- 31:35I give glory to God. Yeah.
- 31:38That's it. You know this would have been
- 31:39possible without God. I want to ask you, you know,
- 31:42coming, moving around, leaving Nigeria, that transition and
- 31:46change is, is, is, is different, right?
- 31:48For for many of us. How did, how did you deal with
- 31:51that? Why?
- 31:51What had you not reach out to your family in that transition?
- 31:55What was going on? So I was sleeping on the street,
- 31:58I was sleeping in the bin, I was sleeping in the bus, I was
- 32:01sleeping wherever I could in a different country, in a
- 32:03different man's country, in Ghana and in Ivory Coast.
- 32:07I know how to speak French. I didn't go to school, but I can
- 32:10speak French. So all of this is I learned all
- 32:13of this in the street. And those are, that is me
- 32:16fighting something deeper than boxing and bigger than boxing.
- 32:19So I conquered all of those things and I'm like, I'm here to
- 32:23stay. And it's been success.
- 32:27And I met Mr. Jeff. I called him and I called him on
- 32:31the phone and I'm like, what's up?
- 32:32What's going on? And you know what?
- 32:38Easy man to deal with. I'm a great promoter.
- 32:41And I'm like, yeah, I'll walk with you.
- 32:44Let's go, Sir, let's go. Thank.
- 32:46You. Thank you.
- 32:47Michael's not only a generous man, but he's a magnificent
- 32:51fighter and he talks about lions You see lions recognize lions
- 32:54and he comes from the great continent of Africa by way of
- 32:58Nigeria right and so November the 7th 2026 at Thunder studios
- 33:03Jeff Davis promotions with the Co main event right here,
- 33:05Michael Starr. It's going to be a fantastic
- 33:07bout. And if you don't go get your
- 33:09tickets now, you're going to lose out because once we in this
- 33:13broadcast, ticket prices are going right back up.
- 33:15So we suggest that you go online, purchase your tickets
- 33:18today and let's get this thing rocking and rolling because
- 33:21listen, boxing is not what boxing used to be.
- 33:23I just made 62 years old today. I've been going to the boxing
- 33:26matches since I was 2021 years old, right?
- 33:29And So what our goal is, is to bring boxing back to America,
- 33:33bring an American champion. We don't have a heavyweight
- 33:36American champion that I know of.
- 33:37The last one we have is Deontay Wilder, right?
- 33:40Yep. And so the one that we have who?
- 33:44That was it. You're right.
- 33:46And so the only. Heavyweight champions, we have.
- 33:48They come out of Europe, we have our, we have, we have, we have,
- 33:51we have, we have our dear brother, our dear Nigerian
- 33:54brother who's an American citizen.
- 33:55That's our American champion. He's going to represent us in
- 33:58every way, shape and form. And that's why we need every
- 34:01last one of our Nigerian brothers.
- 34:03I need you guys to come close and listen to me.
- 34:05I need to have each and every last one of our Nigerian
- 34:08brothers in California, Arizona and Nevada support our dear
- 34:13brother here because without our support, we have no boxing
- 34:17future. And so we're, we're imploring
- 34:19you all to come and support if you can log on to our
- 34:22pay-per-view, which is something we're working on right now or
- 34:25streaming, which is something working on right now.
- 34:27Support in that sense. But make sure that you reach out
- 34:29to our dear brother, our dear brothers social media platforms.
- 34:35Yeah, no doubt. Yes.
- 34:37So I can get you a, I can get you a couple of names going to
- 34:40be on the card you got yours. What happened I?
- 34:45Was talking talking. Yeah, you froze.
- 34:47No, you froze on your no. No, There you go.
- 35:07But anyway, without being redundant, we're going to
- 35:09support our dear brother here, our Nigerian brother.
- 35:12And we need every Nigerian in California, Arizona and Nevada
- 35:16to either TuneIn to our pay-per-view or our stream.
- 35:19And if you live here in in California, LA County, Orange
- 35:23County, San Bernardino County, Riverside County, come down and
- 35:26support our boxing match. We're bringing boxing back to
- 35:29Southern California. Our aspiration is to do this
- 35:31once a quarter starting in February of next year and we're
- 35:35going to do it. We have the money to do it.
- 35:37We have we have the talent to do it and we have we have beautiful
- 35:40people like our dear brother Michael over here who's going to
- 35:43make sure that he entertains you.
- 35:45This brother is an entertainer and he's a fantastic fighter.
- 35:48Yeah, Michael, let me ask you, man Star Michael, you know the
- 35:53identity that it takes to become a fighter, a boxer, right?
- 35:58When, when you when you put those, is it?
- 35:59Was it when you put the gloves on?
- 36:01When you step inside the ring? When when When is that identity
- 36:04clicking? I'm fighting like I said, I'm
- 36:08fighting for something bigger and I like, I wouldn't call
- 36:11myself a regular boxer like every other people call
- 36:13yourself, call myself a street boy and I'm fighting for
- 36:17something big, big, big, big. And I'm fighting for my boys, my
- 36:21wife, my Mama in Nigeria and all them street boy that says that I
- 36:27refuse to stay poor. These are all the people I'm
- 36:29fighting for. So he go fast, he go way back.
- 36:33The identity comes in in every stage of my life, in every day
- 36:38of my life. I'm smiling right now, it's so
- 36:41beautiful. But then I can switch in a
- 36:44second if I have to take your business.
- 36:48I have learned to differentiate it all.
- 36:52What, what do you, what do you, what would you say to your what
- 36:55do you say to your sons? You know, they watch you, they
- 36:57see you in the gym. You got one in the gym right
- 36:58with you right now. Right now, what do you?
- 37:01What do they say? What do you say to your
- 37:03children? So my thoughts, they know my
- 37:06story as far as back as the four years old.
- 37:10He know who I am. So he sees me walk in the house.
- 37:14He goes, God is the greatest because he know how far I came.
- 37:19And I tell him I take my time. I don't have friends, I don't
- 37:23party, I don't go to nightclubs. I don't do any of those things.
- 37:26It's that you see me in the gym running or I'm on a house
- 37:29teaching my kids and spending time with my kids.
- 37:31So this is who I am. And sometimes people think I'm
- 37:34weird to say I won't come to gym and laugh and dance and go
- 37:38around and shake everybody. I won't do any of that.
- 37:41But I respect every boxers and I love every boxers.
- 37:44I wish everybody to grow big. But I just take this thing
- 37:47serious because I know it is a very, very serious sport.
- 37:52I don't joke around it, I don't play around it.
- 37:57Hey, Drake. Hey, man.
- 37:59Man, I can't even follow that. But but Jeff said and star
- 38:04Morgan said. I feel like it's 12, you know
- 38:06what I mean? That's how I feel, man.
- 38:09But I wanted to tell you what was on this card.
- 38:12We got some phenomenal fighters in this card.
- 38:14We got Artemo Rodriguez of flyweight.
- 38:17We got a super lightweight Joey about it.
- 38:20Yeah. Yes, Sir.
- 38:24I'm sorry, I I was going to interject when I heard you.

- 38:28need the support of the of the people of the men in blue when
- 38:33you mentioned this other gentleman's name or Yeah.

- 38:42went to a fight I think about a couple of weeks back.

- 40:52I read. And he's the cool main event.
- 40:55Come on. So Michael, fantastic fight.
- 40:58Now to interact on that Mister Davis.
- 40:59You know, we're like a comedy act, you know, you know, So Mr.

- 41:51We're not listening. You get part and play boxing.
- 41:57It doesn't work like that and that's why my everyone from the
- 42:01Nigerian community comes out and support their countrymen.
- 42:04This brother slept on the ground, not the floor, but the
- 42:07ground. So he understands, he's bringing
- 42:10that. He's bringing that that element
- 42:13with him, what he had to grow through, not go through, but had
- 42:15what he had to grow through in order for him to be where he is.
- 42:18And that's why he's 12 and O. And we believe, we believe that
- 42:22he can go as far as he chooses to go.
- 42:24He puts the number on that, whether that's 25 and O or 50

- 44:30Is that correct? Yeah, the the vet ticks, yes.
- 44:33The vet ticks right put that on it, but what we failed to do
- 44:36over here and this is this. This is my error as a promoter.
- 44:40We didn't disclose what the prices are.
- 44:42So we have 4 price points right? So we have we have the general
- 44:46admission which is $85 right? I went to dinner the other day
- 44:50and spent $90.00 and I had a great time but I didn't have a
- 44:54fight to watch multiple fights. Watch 8.
- 44:56Rounds. Listen, 8 bouts, 38 rounds, so I
- 45:00couldn't have. Bought that for. $85 then we
- 45:03have 115 which is VIP. Then we have VIP ringside which
- 45:08is 125, which puts you in the 2nd row, third row.
- 45:12And then we have the Supreme VIP reserve which is 150 front row.
- 45:17And so just to kind of give you a perspective, we have a lot of
- 45:20entertainers and celebrities that are purchasing up those
- 45:22front rows. Why?
- 45:24Because they want to see their brother Jeff Davis wins.
- 45:26And then a lot of them want to see boxers like Michael come out
- 45:29and perform. We have other guys we forgot to,
- 45:32we forgot to mention the white sofa lounge that we have.
- 45:35We have something called the sofa lounge, which is which the
- 45:38platform is parallel to the boxing ring.
- 45:42So you sit there in the comfort of a white sofa, it's seat 6 and
- 45:46it's phenomenal. Or the auto service there.
- 45:48Jeff Davis promotions is has changed the game as it relates
- 45:52to boxing. I like to, I like to port myself
- 45:56as a classic guy. In fact, I am.
- 45:59So as a classic guy, you'd have all classic me bro.
- 46:02I know brother, thank you for that.
- 46:04And so I'm going, I'm going to, I'm going to, to, to introduce
- 46:09that style, my personal style to boxing.
- 46:12And that's pretty much almost sold out.
- 46:14We probably have about maybe 4, maybe 4 sofas left, but it's
- 46:17going to be fantastic. But what we did not mention is
- 46:20we have a brother on here by the name of Patrick Patterson,
- 46:23Cowboy. He's a phenomenal boxer,
- 46:25phenomenal boxer. He's managed by Brandon Watson,
- 46:28Sam Watson's son. And we didn't bring up Brandon
- 46:31Cannonball Adams, who's also the manager of Aaron Whitehurst.
- 46:36Now Dre knows. Brandon Cannonball, Adam.
- 46:39Like very well, very well. So you want to give him the
- 46:42Brandon's curriculum vitae? Oh my.
- 46:45God, are you talking about? He won.
- 46:48He won the contender. He beat my boy Sugar Sam Junior.
- 46:51He beat him a contender. Yeah.
- 46:53He he he fought the likes of I think that Jameel, Jameel
- 46:57Charles, he fought with 12 business rounds with him.
- 47:01I think he won that fight. But you know, he robbed him and
- 47:04he fought on a great platform, always in shape, always in a
- 47:08good mood, great father, businessman and phenomenal
- 47:11training. So he got he got he got a great
- 47:14fighter. But Miss Mr. Aaron on Whitehead.
- 47:16So I'm checking my Long Beach boy@nosafecorner.com and get
- 47:21your tickets now, people. I got.
- 47:23I got. I got Aaron, I got Aaron coming
- 47:25up on the interview, I think next on the next week, 1 on next
- 47:28Wednesday. OK.
- 47:29Good, good. And we also have.
- 47:32We also have Mr. Mercado Trujillo, who's also the manager
- 47:37trainer too, for for Eduardo Diaz and also for our other
- 47:42gentleman. His name eludes me right now,
- 47:45but that's that's what we're working on with him.
- 47:47I forget his name. Pardon me for for not
- 47:51remembering his name. I'm in a remote location.
- 47:53I have to pull over borrow somebody else's facility to be
- 47:55able to make. This make this thing work.
- 48:01Look, is your birthday. You turn a young 62.
- 48:05Don't make it sound like, you know, you look like you're young
- 48:0842, you know, you know, you know, you know.
- 48:11Don't crack. I swear, Michael.
- 48:13I said Mr. Starr. Michael look like he bought 21.
- 48:19Yeah, man, you got little soldiers already, man.
- 48:23Joseph, not to cut you off, his name is Joseph.
- 48:25Joseph, a buddy. Phenomenal.
- 48:27Yeah, Joseph. A good looking guy.
- 48:29Joseph. Joseph, Super light.
- 48:32Super light, yes, Yeah. I, I, I believe he's going to be
- 48:35he's going to be a force to be reckoned with.
- 48:37But again, you know, we we have some of the best cards on on the
- 48:41platform and and I went to a boxing match this past weekend
- 48:44at Thunder Studios that by friend of mine did Ray and it
- 48:48was fantastic, man. And it was just you know, I'm
- 48:50around boxing all day, every day.
- 48:51I live and breathe boxing now. In fact, I own three insurance
- 48:54agencies and I I haven't had any insurance business in the last
- 48:58month and 1/2, which is my bread and butter actually too much
- 49:01because I've been so focused on on my boxing promoting to make
- 49:04sure that we can we we can make sure superstars like our dear
- 49:07mother, dear brother here, Michael star is taken care of
- 49:09and and DeAndre and and the rest of our team is taken care of.
- 49:13But we need your support. No safecorner.com go by and
- 49:17purchase your 80. Five Dollar General.
- 49:18Mission ticket and let's make it do what it do man.
- 49:20We're going to entertain you. We're going to have a great time
- 49:22and it's a family oriented environment that we have here,
- 49:25man, it's going to be. Great.
- 49:26Oh, and I forgot to mention our dear brother, Terry Clayburn.
- 49:31Terry Clayburn. Terry Clayburn and his fighter.
- 49:33Go ahead. I don't want to take this.
- 49:35Man, no, no, see, I don't. You know Terry.
- 49:38Terry's one of the best celebrity trainer for a lot of
- 49:42big names. Celeb and Tisha Campbell.
- 49:44Yeah. Denzel ready for hurricane.
- 49:47I mean, Terry, go back. His boxing gym is on, I believe.
- 49:50Pico. Yes.
- 49:57And he's been there forever. But Terry a monster.
- 50:00Yeah. I've never seen him train
- 50:02people. I mean, unless they're a
- 50:03trainer. Yes.
- 50:05He just underrated. Underrated the trainers.
- 50:07These people read it, but I think it's probably kind of
- 50:10split my my, my, my name. I know you remember by Special K
- 50:14that's OK Her name yeah, Special K and I think it's is it Korea?
- 50:20Korea. I think yeah, Korea.
- 50:23Actually, she is she is super feather, super feather and she
- 50:27is hard she is very hard yes I watch her hard I see hard.
- 50:32I don't know about the other fighters.
- 50:33Hard so Jeff just so God was just incredible and Jeff came
- 50:40with the plan of patientness and humbleness to make this thing
- 50:44happen. It takes a humble man and a
- 50:47patient man to make things correctable and things
- 50:50phenomenal because you can't do that with the God.
- 50:54And I would be remiss if I didn't if I didn't mention my
- 50:56dear brother Patrick Regan. Patrick Regan is also a
- 50:59promoter, but he stepped in to make sure that my matches were
- 51:02that my, that my bouts were evenly matched.
- 51:05So I have to give all the credit as relates to to matching these
- 51:09fighters to Patrick Regan, who owns Westside Promotions.
- 51:12Beautiful guy. He's 60.
- 51:14He's he's younger than I am, but I call it my little Big Brother
- 51:18because of his knowledge and. And and wealth of information.
- 51:21That relates to to boxing and he's and he's a godsend for me
- 51:25and, and I could not pull off what I'm pulling off without
- 51:27him. Boxing promoting is more than
- 51:31just putting two guys, the matching 2 guys and say OK,
- 51:33let's go at it. Here's a check.
- 51:34No, boxing promoting is a production.
- 51:38You almost have to go into television mode in order to do
- 51:41this. What do I mean by that?
- 51:42You have to have a production manager to make sure that every
- 51:45that everything in in the production itself is running
- 51:48according to how the athletic Commission needs it to run.
- 51:52Then you have to have someone who's going to be in the back
- 51:54with the fighters to make sure the fighters know the cue when
- 51:57to come out. You have to have someone collect
- 51:59the gloves and make sure that they collect them from the
- 52:02fighters because sometimes the fighters leave with them and you
- 52:05got to fight, try to find them to get those gloves back.
- 52:08Then you got to make sure that the fighters have all their
- 52:10medicals. Michael knows about this.
- 52:12You got to make sure the fighters have.
- 52:13All the labs where we we. We're flying in about 10 people
- 52:18from different countries, from Mexico, Argentina, Colombia,
- 52:22Atlanta, GA, and two or three other states at my expense in
- 52:27order for our fighters to be able.
- 52:29To. To showcase their talent and our
- 52:32and our next move will be our best move.
- 52:35And This is why we need you all to support us because with this
- 52:39bout that we're doing here, this card that we're doing here, this
- 52:43promotion that we're doing here. When this goes over over well,
- 52:47our next three moves will be the Dignity Center in Carson and the
- 52:52one after that will be the T-Mobile Center.
- 52:54And once we get there, it is a wrap and we will never forget
- 52:58those. Bear with us when we started and
- 53:00that from Jeff Davis Promotions as the owner, I guarantee you
- 53:04that. You heard it first.
- 53:07He had bags to canvas. You heard it first.
- 53:14Star Michael Man What's? Going through your.
- 53:16Mind right now *? Yeah, I know, Michael.
- 53:21He's talking on all the thing he's saying.
- 53:24I'm smiling because I know once you get to T-Mobile Arena, you
- 53:28know, they say. They say, they say.
- 53:30Sky is the starting point. No, we'll be like, we'll be,
- 53:33we'll be, we'll be going. We, we, we, we go out of space.
- 53:37We go out of space. Once we get to.
- 53:39T-Mobile Arena. And that's just that.
- 53:42We should. Is sorry, is, is there somebody
- 53:46you got your eye on that you want to take on is, is that
- 53:48somebody or you just, you just welcome anybody?
- 53:51We don't. We don't.
- 53:52We don't. We don't.
- 53:52Want to say that yet? We don't.
- 53:57Want to say that no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 54:00We're going to let our record dictate because Star stars
- 54:05fighting quality fighters and when you fight quality fighters,
- 54:09the record speaks for itself. Not only the record, but see
- 54:12people get the record confused. You got to look at the rankings
- 54:15and stars open up in rankings by fighting qualified people.
- 54:19This is the conversation that Star told the matchmaker night
- 54:22the other day. He said give me an opponent
- 54:24that's going to work me, that's going to challenge.
- 54:27Me. So that I can, am I right?
- 54:31You're Andre Pesang. Andre.
- 54:33We had a conference call yesterday said give me somebody
- 54:36that's going to work me because I not only want to beat them,
- 54:38but I want to make sure that I that I'm better than I am the
- 54:40next time when I fight. And that's what our.
- 54:42Goal is is to make better. That's why you got to go to
- 54:48nosafecorner.com and buy you $85 ticket. 85 people for 2/2
- 54:55dinners and it's $40.50 dollars and two people $80.00 right
- 54:58there people. OK, so and like you can't, you
- 55:03can't afford to do that. And the party, you be nice to me
- 55:07and Mr. Davis and you got a party at 20 and more.
- 55:09We might give a 10% discount, but we'll bring it.
- 55:12Bring it. Listen, listen.
- 55:15I can't do as the president of the boxing operations.
- 55:17I can't refute what my president.
- 55:18'S. Telling me, yeah, bring me a big
- 55:21crowd, A nurse. I want a nurse to bring the
- 55:24crowd. Doctor, bring that crowd.
- 55:26Don't be scared. You forgot to mention too that
- 55:29the white Sofa lounge is is is dedicated specifically for that.
- 55:33If someone wants to have a party at the boxing match, they can
- 55:36have it in the comfort of the white sofa.
- 55:38Lounge. I heard it first, ladies and
- 55:42gentlemen. I heard it first.
- 55:43It sits 6 people for $200 a person.
- 55:46That's $1200 you can't beat. That if.
- 55:49If you commit, we'll buy you ice cream and a cake.
- 56:00I'm. You.
- 56:06Have to go to nosafecorner.com and reserve your white sofa
- 56:10today. Buy your ticket today.
- 56:12Purchase your ticket today. Listen, we're not on here just
- 56:15to have fun. We're on here to let you know
- 56:16that boxing is back in LA, man. Boxing is back again.
- 56:21Thank you. Jeff Davis Boxing.
- 56:23I'm sorry, Dre. Thank you, Jeff.
- 56:24Dave, thank you Jeff Davis Promotions for making this a
- 56:27reality, not just a dream of thoughts.
- 56:30You made a reality brother. Thank you.
- 56:32Birthday the 62nd. You doing your thing man Thank
- 56:35you. Brother, I love you.
- 56:36Appreciate it. And just the opportunity that
- 56:38gets created from this, Jeff, like people get to live out
- 56:40their dreams. They get to take on those
- 56:42challenges, those those development pieces.
- 56:44There's a lot that, like you said, there's a lot goes on in
- 56:46the background on your end. But for that fighter to prepare
- 56:49themselves mentally, emotionally, right, all that
- 56:52takes place. There are over 100 things that I
- 56:55have to do as a promoter to make sure that things run smoothly
- 56:59and some of. Those things.
- 57:00I have to hand off to Dre because Dre is confident in
- 57:03getting those things done and so that took a load off of me, but
- 57:07still the buck starts and stops with me.
- 57:10The. Payments start.
- 57:12And stop with me. So.
- 57:14We we do something that's unique.
- 57:16I don't believe in paying boxers with checks because checks get
- 57:20bounced and I've heard several boxers within the last few
- 57:23months going to promotions and their and their bounced and
- 57:25their checks have bounced. We pay our we, we pay our boxers
- 57:29in cashier's checks and money orders.
- 57:31That's. It there you go.
- 57:33When you when the commissioner gives you your check, you look
- 57:36in there, it's a cashier's check or a money order.
- 57:38You don't have to worry about going to the bank next week to
- 57:39get your money. Your buddy's right here, right
- 57:41now. That's how we.
- 57:43Let's go. Jack, let's go now.
- 57:48Now I got I got one last thing about the winding thing down.
- 57:52What you get those? Folks up there folks up there
- 57:55that want a sponsor now if you want your name somewhere you see
- 57:59us, man, we got some great taxes for you people out there.
- 58:02I know you go, maybe maybe we'll have a little weed spot.
- 58:05You want to put about 4-5 stacks in there, Put your name up
- 58:08there. We don't knock you what you do
- 58:10make honest little. You may have a a catering
- 58:12company. You want to put your name up
- 58:13there and show, hey, we can talk to me and Mr. David.
- 58:16We'll do we'll work out something with you if you people
- 58:19want to. We want fun sponsor.
- 58:21That's why you're the president of boxing operations.
- 58:23I I'm supposed to be saying that, but but Drake took the
- 58:25helmet that. And I'm glad.
- 58:27I'm glad that you did because we do have a few more spaces open
- 58:30for all the real estate that's on the ring, the corner pads,
- 58:34the, the, the, the, the ropes, a few spaces on the mat.
- 58:40But again, you know, when you talk about marketing, this is
- 58:44phenomenal because you're dealing, you're dealing with a
- 58:46champion right here. This is a guy who has something
- 58:48to prove, not to anybody else, but to himself, to remind him
- 58:52whose he is and who he is, right.
- 58:54Every day when he wakes up, he reminds himself that he was on
- 58:57the streets. He was in a gutter physically.
- 58:59Not mentally, but physically, because if he was there mentally
- 59:03he would still be there. Right, the Bible.
- 59:06Says the Bible says when the prodigal son came to himself,
- 59:09he. Came.
- 59:11That's the best. That's the best part of the
- 59:13whole. Talking about I got to do, man,
- 59:31that's it. I'm telling you so remember
- 59:35folks, remember November 7th Thunder Studio, Long Beach, CA

- 1:05:24thank you for tuning listening to the front dozy show special
- 1:05:26edition of a sports collective TV, media and radio.
- 1:05:30All right so you know before I get out of here, just got some
- 1:05:37things I want to get off my I want to take it off my chest,
- 1:05:40but shouts out to Jessica today on beyond 2D.
- 1:05:44If you watch that episode or you watch our show over there on the
- 1:05:47breakthrough networks beyond 2D, it's twice a month right now.
- 1:05:53We're on our last, our last seasons coming to an end.
- 1:05:56Her network is coming to an end. And today we had a conversation
- 1:06:00about opinions. And you know, for me, a lot of
- 1:06:06the things that you see me up to the sports suits.
- 1:06:11We just we just you just witnessed this whole sports
- 1:06:14segment, right? That sports segment is, is
- 1:06:17important to me because, you know, there's a lot that, as you
- 1:06:23heard, it takes to put together an event like that.
- 1:06:25Me as as as the owner of three ABA basketball teams, It's it's,
- 1:06:30it's like that. I'm not, I'm not, we're not even
- 1:06:33halfway where he is as far as what it takes to put that
- 1:06:36together. But we're growing it.
- 1:06:37We're developing it. I look at it like we got to
- 1:06:40build a house and then you sell the house.
- 1:06:43But when we talked about the show today on Beyond 2D and we
- 1:06:47talked about opinions, yes, sports, it's a part of my
- 1:06:52conversation. Veteran, I'm a veteran, being a
- 1:06:56father, grandfather, a male man. A lot of those things are, are
- 1:07:02conversations that we have here. And the biggest thing about me
- 1:07:09even being in front of you today, I was, I was, I was on
- 1:07:11therapy. The session today, right after
- 1:07:13the Beyond 2D show I went and got in my therapy session.
- 1:07:23The the power of our opinions. I want you to really take a step
- 1:07:32back. Take a step back and just kind
- 1:07:36of listen to what goes on in your mind.
- 1:07:40I'm not a therapist, not a psychologist.
- 1:07:42I'm an advocate. I'm a navigate.
- 1:07:46I'm a navigate for veteran suicide, youth suicide, mental
- 1:07:50toughness, mental health, that's all sports related, military
- 1:07:56related, but it's people see the beauty of it all is is all this
- 1:08:01connects to people. So I'm asking you if you're
- 1:08:06willing, like like Jeff said, if you willing to come to yourself,
- 1:08:12if you wanted to come to yourself like the prodigal son
- 1:08:14did that one day. We don't know how.
- 1:08:16We don't know how long the prodigal son had was gone from
- 1:08:19his father's house. We don't know if it was 2 weeks,
- 1:08:2510 days, 30 days, five years, 20 years, 30.
- 1:08:32We don't know how long the prodigal son was gone from his
- 1:08:35father's house. But one day in the midst of
- 1:08:43living in a pig pen, the pig pen is not a right or wrong place to
- 1:08:47live. Because what I got from that
- 1:08:50passage that even he was, even when he was living in the pig
- 1:08:52pen, the same wood that was built for that pig pen, same
- 1:09:00wood that was on his father's house.
- 1:09:02So when, when, when the Holy Spirit gave me that, I was like,
- 1:09:06Oh my gosh, we look at that prodigal son passage as a
- 1:09:10negative For some, it's not a negative.
- 1:09:13Oh, we look at the prodigal son. Look, see what he did?
- 1:09:15He took his inheritance, spent it all and then had to had to
- 1:09:18come back home, blah, blah, blah.
- 1:09:20Yeah, that's, that's one way to look at that passage.
- 1:09:24But if you read that passage, that's a parable and you put
- 1:09:28yourself in that passage. Can you put yourself in the
- 1:09:31passage as you being the prodigal son?
- 1:09:36Now, the prodigal son, ladies, is not just about men.
- 1:09:39The prodigal son is a parable and, and, and the prodigal son
- 1:09:44could be a woman, right? God uses man as, as, as a plural
- 1:09:49as mankind, men and women, right?
- 1:09:52So you got to, you got to read that with context.
- 1:09:54So the prodigal son is not just about a male.
- 1:09:57It's about a person and him coming to himself in the midst
- 1:10:06of living in a pig pen and eating pig slop.
- 1:10:11Some of us go to the bar and we order pig slop.
- 1:10:14We potato skins, potatoes with skins on it.
- 1:10:18That's what do they feed pigs, right?
- 1:10:22Just as an example. But I'm asking you if you really
- 1:10:25want to come to yourself and just take a look at yourself,
- 1:10:31step back and just kind of listen to where your mind goes
- 1:10:36and how many opinions not that you have about other people.
- 1:10:43It's not how you it's not just how you think about other
- 1:10:45people. Now we think about other people.
- 1:10:48I think about other people. You know, sometimes from a from
- 1:10:53a, from a happy place, we say the happy place from a joyful
- 1:10:56place, but also from a defensive place, also from a place of
- 1:11:02guarded, from a place of my teammate Jessica talked about
- 1:11:07boundaries. Sometimes we we listen the
- 1:11:10people in different spaces depending on who they are.
- 1:11:16And sometimes those family relationships are so close that
- 1:11:20we can't hear that loved one. Sometimes as a parent, you're so
- 1:11:25close to that child that the child can't hear you.
- 1:11:29But why does that child not hear you?
- 1:11:31Why does that parent not hear? Why does that sibling not hear?
- 1:11:34Why does that? Why does that feel the member
- 1:11:35not hear? Because there could be some
- 1:11:37stuff in the way. It could be some opinions in the
- 1:11:42way. So I'm asking you if you just
- 1:11:47willing to look at your opinions, not about other
- 1:11:50people, but about yourself. What opinions do you have about
- 1:11:56you? Do you have any opinions about
- 1:12:00you? Do you hear that voice in the
- 1:12:02background that tells you all the stuff that you need to do
- 1:12:06and you better not do all the chatter, But when your mouth is
- 1:12:10closed, that voice that is gone. See, when you close your mouth,
- 1:12:13when you close your mouth, then you stop talking.
- 1:12:14And then you hear the voice that's still like it's probably
- 1:12:19just saying what voice? What voice does he talk about?
- 1:12:21Like close your mouth. Like, try it.
- 1:12:23Try it. Yeah, that for the voice.
- 1:12:25What voice he talk about. Yeah.
- 1:12:27That's not you. That's not you.
- 1:12:29It's not you. It's not, it's not, it's not
- 1:12:34you. It's it's your voice that's
- 1:12:39designed to protect you, to keep you safe, but it's also a voice
- 1:12:46that is very cynical, it's very judgmental, has a lot of views
- 1:12:51and opinions about life, a lot of views, pains about your past
- 1:12:55experiences, a lots of views, opinions about life.
- 1:13:00But that voice is not you. And so when you separate
- 1:13:05yourself from that voice in your head that's giving you all these
- 1:13:08judgmental conversations and opinions, check your opinion
- 1:13:16about yourself. For me personally, I'm, I'm
- 1:13:21still in front of you today, 16 years, 13 years retired, still
- 1:13:32here because I, I was willing to do the work around my opinions.
- 1:13:37And so I can speak to that. I've done I've I've done a lot
- 1:13:41of work still some in there, they may never go away, but it's
- 1:13:46the awareness that you get that when you separate yourself from
- 1:13:50that voice in your head and you hear all the commentary in the
- 1:13:53background that it's not you. Yes, there there are.
- 1:14:01There are, like we said on the show, opinions that it's not
- 1:14:05about opinions being right or wrong or good or bad.
- 1:14:07That's not that's not what we're saying.
- 1:14:08You need those opinions. Yes, you need opinions.
- 1:14:11You need those opinions. However, you've made it till
- 1:14:14today to survive life, thrive life, live life, whatever that
- 1:14:21is, Whoever you had to become to survive and live life and
- 1:14:26thrive. We're not.
- 1:14:28We're not discounting that person.
- 1:14:30We're not discounting how you got here at all.
- 1:14:34I'm not here to discount that. I'm here to ask you to look and
- 1:14:41see if you just step to the side and look at that.
- 1:14:44Listen to that voice and how it has a lot of opinions about you.
- 1:14:51Not about me, not about your cousin or your sister or your
- 1:14:55brother or your mom or your daddy or whoever.
- 1:14:57Your Co worker, the president, not that, not them.
- 1:15:07That opinion about you. What does that?
- 1:15:09Who does that voice say that you are?
- 1:15:12Who do you know yourself to be? Sometimes we know ourself to be
- 1:15:15a certain way that's negative. Sometimes we don't talk nice to
- 1:15:22ourself. We want people to talk to me
- 1:15:24nice, but we don't talk to ourself nice.
- 1:15:29So I did the work. I looked.
- 1:15:31I have lots, lots, lots of opinions about Farrah.
- 1:15:36Lots. How does a child, how does a 2
- 1:15:40year old come up with an identity about themselves at two
- 1:15:43years old? You better believe it happens.
- 1:15:48Three years old. What are your identities?
- 1:15:52Where did where did you get those identities from?
- 1:15:56Do you have any? I'm not.
- 1:15:58I had a plethora of I'm not, I'm not good enough.
- 1:16:04I'm not worth it. I'm not loved.
- 1:16:07I'm I'm not, I'm not and not, I'm not like an experience, like
- 1:16:16a feeling. No, like I'm not like I am not.
- 1:16:23So who's that I that I say that I am?
- 1:16:27I'm not good enough. I'm not worth it.
- 1:16:31I'm not loved. I'm not fat enough.
- 1:16:37I'm not skinny enough. I'm not this.
- 1:16:39What are what are you? I'm not that could be a place to
- 1:16:42look, maybe took a sometimes you got to look and see what you're
- 1:16:48not to see who you are. We don't want to look at the I'm
- 1:16:53not. Sometimes you got to look at the
- 1:16:54I'm not first to get them out the way.
- 1:16:58And the I'm not is not that it's not a bad thing, but our
- 1:17:05opinions about ourselves, I'm leave you with that.
- 1:17:08The opinions about ourselves are more detrimental than the
- 1:17:12opinions about what people say about us, See, because I can
- 1:17:18say, oh, I love you, Faron. I love you, Faron.
- 1:17:21I love you. And people can tell me that all
- 1:17:22day they love Faron. And Faron, you're such a nice
- 1:17:25guy and you're such do such great work and you have such
- 1:17:28great. Listen, you do this great and
- 1:17:29this excellent, and this is blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 1:17:33But guess what? My mind is saying, yeah, what
- 1:17:37you want, they must want something.
- 1:17:39What's in it for you? Are they right?
- 1:17:42Are they wrong? Is that good?
- 1:17:44Is that bad? Do I agree?
- 1:17:46Do I disagree? Why?
- 1:17:50How? All those opinions, before I can
- 1:17:57even receive the nice compliment or the the nice words, my mind
- 1:18:05is already like Nah, Nope. Don't you know you're not good
- 1:18:08enough? Why would they say that?
- 1:18:09You know, you know, if they find out about you for Ron that
- 1:18:13you're not good enough, you're going to be a fraud.
- 1:18:15Look how they praised you. Look how they congratulated you.
- 1:18:17Look how they said you did such a good thing.
- 1:18:19And then here you are and and you know, you're not good
- 1:18:22enough. You're going to be a fraud.
- 1:18:24You're going to be a fraud if they find out for Ron that
- 1:18:29you're not good enough. Because that's right.
- 1:18:31That's how that's what we say. That's how we see ourselves,
- 1:18:33right? We got proof that we're not good
- 1:18:34enough. We got proof that we're not
- 1:18:36worth it. I got proof of evidence.
- 1:18:38I got by the sensations, got failures, prove that I'm not
- 1:18:48good enough, broken relationships that I'm not good
- 1:18:55enough. I got evidence.
- 1:19:01So I thought. So I thought, so you have to
- 1:19:08find something. You have to find a class from
- 1:19:11our brothers and sisters in arms veterans got to go, got to go
- 1:19:19take a class. You got to go take a class.
- 1:19:24You got to find something outside of your mind to
- 1:19:27challenge those stories up against how you think about
- 1:19:33yourself. Not about me, not about the
- 1:19:36world. Find something that you have
- 1:19:40confidence in that you can stand on principles, not cuz stuff
- 1:19:46that's conceptual principles. Find some principles to stand
- 1:19:50on. There's personal development
- 1:19:53educations out there. The the VA offers therapy.
- 1:19:57They got different types of therapy.
- 1:19:58They got mindfulness. Now we teach some curriculums
- 1:20:01over here where I where I am with the EEK athletics and LBI
- 1:20:04solutions. And the classes that I take, if
- 1:20:08you're interested in those, there's there's, there's,
- 1:20:12there's help. And you see my inside out
- 1:20:20characters back here, there's education.
- 1:20:28But are you willing? You might have to just remove
- 1:20:32that filter. You might have to 1st realize
- 1:20:37that you got to filter first. First you got to admit to
- 1:20:42yourself that you got to filter or whatever you language it as.
- 1:20:47What is that? A barrier?
- 1:20:53What you got to admit to it first.
- 1:20:58And maybe your mind is so wrapped in the past and the
- 1:21:03proof, the evidence and the body sensations that it's like,
- 1:21:06there's no way, there's no way this could get any better.
- 1:21:10There's no way that the world can change.
- 1:21:14There's no way it's getting worse.
- 1:21:18It's what is the IT? What is the IT, What is the IT
- 1:21:21that's getting worse in the world?
- 1:21:24You might have to remove your filter, but you might have to
- 1:21:281st find something that you have confidence in to stand on some
- 1:21:32principles outside of your mind. If it's church, if it's biblical
- 1:21:41principles, if it's personal development, cognitive behavior
- 1:21:44therapy act. the VA offers a lot of classes, mindfulness, There's
- 1:21:50so many programs now. And sometimes it's just our
- 1:21:58identity. Sometimes the identity is just
- 1:22:02trapped and the story and the career and the rank in the
- 1:22:09uniform and the label and the title.
- 1:22:19So we need to talk about opinions today.
- 1:22:22And, and, and Ferrant had to give up his opinions about
- 1:22:24himself. I had, you know how many I found
- 1:22:26so many opinions about myself. So many.
- 1:22:32I think I like, I think I'm on like 18, 1212 main ones for
- 1:22:40sure. And I found like 6 in between.
- 1:22:50So again, what opinions do you have about yourself?
- 1:22:56And you know what's crazy? Not crazy, but you know, what's
- 1:22:58wild is sometimes when our, when our people in our life who love
- 1:23:02us and they care for us, they might speak to that thing about
- 1:23:05us that we don't like about ourself.
- 1:23:10And then who are they speaking to me with this about the things
- 1:23:13that I don't like about myself. And then we get defensive.
- 1:23:18You can't point that out. You can't tell me about myself.
- 1:23:22How do you know? How do you know I don't love
- 1:23:24myself? How do you know how you I don't
- 1:23:27like myself? And then we get defensive and
- 1:23:33then we kill off relationships. And then now we wonder why I'm
- 1:23:37alone, I'm lonely. Your opinions, your opinions,
- 1:23:48you can have them. But what happens is when you
- 1:23:53have an opinion about another human being, when you think that
- 1:23:57you know some of them say this. When you think that you know
- 1:24:00someone, you stop listening to them.
- 1:24:05See, we don't. We don't know people, but when
- 1:24:09you think that you know me and you think that as a parent that
- 1:24:12you know your child or as a child that you think that you
- 1:24:15know your mom or the siblings, that you think you know your
- 1:24:17sister and you already know how they're going to respond to you.
- 1:24:20You already, I already know what they're going to say, so I'm not
- 1:24:22even going to ask. I already know how they feel
- 1:24:27about me, so I'm not even going to ask.
- 1:24:31I already know what they're going to say.
- 1:24:33I already know what they're going to say.
- 1:24:35I already know right there, Done, done.
- 1:24:42I had to learn that. I had to learn that.
- 1:24:43I don't, I don't even I don't know for on I'm still learning
- 1:24:48about myself. I'm learning about my feelings
- 1:24:51and my emotions and where they came from and why I feel the way
- 1:24:53I felt. And just I'm learning about how
- 1:24:57separation, being separated from my mom, not in a negative, but
- 1:25:06just separated. OK, You're going to go and go to
- 1:25:09the daycare center. You're going to go to
- 1:25:12kindergarten, you're going to go to school.
- 1:25:13Like the separation is an emotional separation.
- 1:25:21And so we're all someone's child, right?
- 1:25:24You got a, you got a parent. You got a father.
- 1:25:27You got a mother, got a mom. You got a dad, you got a parent.
- 1:25:36Sometimes our parents didn't have the information that they
- 1:25:40needed to give to us. Some generations didn't pass
- 1:25:46down information they didn't know because they didn't know.
- 1:25:50They didn't know to know to pass it to you, or they didn't know
- 1:25:53to know that. Check this out.
- 1:25:57I'm not going to raise you how my dad raised me.
- 1:26:00I'm going to raise you how you need me to raise you, right.
- 1:26:06So sometime as fathers, as dads, as parents, we want to give the
- 1:26:11child what we didn't have so that they can have what we
- 1:26:16didn't have. But guess what?
- 1:26:18That's not your life. That's the child's life.
- 1:26:22It's not your life now. It's not right or wrong, good or
- 1:26:26bad, that you do that, but it could cause a wedge between you
- 1:26:33and the child because now you're not listening to what the
- 1:26:35child's needs are. See, the child's concerns and
- 1:26:39worries will probably be different than yours, but if you
- 1:26:44put your worries and concerns on the child, that's not their
- 1:26:47concerns. Turns into rebellion.
- 1:26:52I didn't know that I had. I had to learn that there's no
- 1:26:59manual, but then we keep saying that doesn't manual to be a
- 1:27:01parent, but there's, there's classes, there's work.
- 1:27:05I went to a resilience conference summit couple weeks
- 1:27:09ago and lady spoke. She said that her and her
- 1:27:13husband were decided to have a family, create a family and buy
- 1:27:16a house. And, and, and So what they did
- 1:27:19was they went to the foster care program and took parenting
- 1:27:21classes from the foster care program to learn how to be
- 1:27:25better parents. I was like, wow, I was thinking
- 1:27:31child development classes, but think foster care broke like the
- 1:27:34perfect. It did give you classes to how
- 1:27:38to be a parent in foster care. Now they end up adopting five
- 1:27:42siblings, which was a moral story, But we have to understand
- 1:27:51that that child's life is not, it's not your life.
- 1:27:55I had to realize that my daughter's life that they were
- 1:27:57concerned about different things and it's three of them.
- 1:28:00So they each had three different types of concerns for their own
- 1:28:03lives. And here I am trying to figure
- 1:28:05it out, put my concerns on them. No wonder it's broken
- 1:28:10communication and I needed, I still needed parenting for
- 1:28:17myself at my age. So as I end this conversation
- 1:28:27tonight, if you're willing to do the work, step out of your like,
- 1:28:34you can't physically step out of your mind.
- 1:28:37You can't physically get a new heart, you can't fully get a new
- 1:28:39subconscious. But you can definitely do the
- 1:28:43work around it with the information that's in there and
- 1:28:46challenge it, test it, find some principles, find some classes,
- 1:28:50challenge that story. You know that story that pops in
- 1:28:55your head every time when your body gives you that sensation
- 1:28:59like there's something wrong, I don't belong, I'm on my own.
- 1:29:02You know where you go to that moment of self loathing when you
- 1:29:06got hope and then it goes to hopelessness.
- 1:29:08And when hopelessness turns into disappointment and then
- 1:29:12disappointment turns into despair, and then despair turns
- 1:29:16into self loathing. And then what comes out of your
- 1:29:19mouth, what comes in my mouth is why bother?
- 1:29:24Why bother? Like, why, why, why bother?
- 1:29:28I already know how it's going to turn out.
- 1:29:30Why bother? And then next thing you know, 10
- 1:29:34years go by and you're still in the why bother phase.
- 1:29:40And none of this is right or wrong, good or bad.
- 1:29:42None of this is not about right or wrong, good or bad.
- 1:29:44No opinions. No opinions about another human
- 1:29:47being. Because the brain is malleable.
- 1:29:50A human being can grow and learn and develop and change.
- 1:29:56The brain is powerful. It can grow, develop and change.
- 1:30:02So you don't know people sometimes.
- 1:30:06Our language is our biggest trap.
- 1:30:09How I talk, the words that I choose to describe my life could
- 1:30:13be the biggest trap. So what is that?
- 1:30:23Are you willing to look? I'm an advocate.
- 1:30:28And then it's, and it's difficult because, you know,
- 1:30:33even as we talk about our children and, and even our, our
- 1:30:35own, our own personal life and that world of opinions we talked
- 1:30:39about, everybody's world is different.
- 1:30:41Everybody has a different perspective, perception,
- 1:30:43interpretation of their experience of what they saw or
- 1:30:46what they see. And it's not right or wrong or
- 1:30:49good or bad. It's not for me to tell you what
- 1:30:56you should do with yourself. It's not for me to tell you how
- 1:31:02you should live your life. But I can show you some
- 1:31:07principles that you can challenge your life up against
- 1:31:11and see, see what you get. Like what?
- 1:31:19What governs your mind? I had to get a new philosophy, a
- 1:31:25new ideology, and I had to get a new theology.
- 1:31:29I I live from three, three of those, my ideology for my ideas
- 1:31:36and my thoughts, my philosophy of what I believe in and my
- 1:31:41soul. And then my theology, my spirit,
- 1:31:51and I had to put them in order. I had to find something for each
- 1:31:54one of those, for me, each one of those views that I, that I
- 1:32:00feel I live my life from, from, from what I'm learning in my
- 1:32:03therapy session about my values and my goals.
- 1:32:09I didn't know kindness was a value.
- 1:32:11I didn't know compassion was a value.
- 1:32:16My spirituality, my walk with Christ is a value.
- 1:32:19These personal development classes is a value and if I have
- 1:32:25value in those, then I'm, I'm, I'm making goals to make sure
- 1:32:31that those spaces get checked off.
- 1:32:35I was like, wow, I didn't realize that all my values and
- 1:32:38goals came from the Army, from the mission.
- 1:32:42Now I got to create my own values and goals.
- 1:32:44I've, I've, I've been retired 13 years and I didn't even realize.
- 1:32:48I didn't think I had any values or goals.
- 1:32:51I'm just doing stuff now. I get to put it in the context
- 1:33:00for my life to articulate my values and my goals.
- 1:33:12But everybody's not willing, everybody's not there,
- 1:33:14everybody's not. And it's no matter where you
- 1:33:16are, it's fine. But it's the self talk.
- 1:33:21It's the opinion about yourself. Our subconscious mind is our
- 1:33:25biggest hater. People don't hate on you.
- 1:33:33We labeled as haters. Yeah, if there's envy, there's
- 1:33:37jealousy. There are those there.
- 1:33:38There are definitely That has that's nothing to do with you
- 1:33:42has to that's something about them.
- 1:33:44Remember the I'm not I'm not good if I'm not worth it and I
- 1:33:47see you progressing and you doing something.
- 1:33:49I might be a little jealous. I might be.
- 1:33:55That's a reflection of me, though.
- 1:33:57All right, what I got for you. Let's see where we going to go.
- 1:34:10I promised you something. Oh, let me see.
- 1:34:16You know, I'm an advocate for rhabdomyosis, right?
- 1:34:20So we going to this? Oh, let's do this.
