- 0:11Speaker 1: Daniel, thank you for my weekly reminder.
- 0:13Speaker 2: It is all no problem. And does everybody have their
- 0:16Speaker 2: windows closed? My windows were closed.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Although I thought the bird chirping was a nice touch,
- 0:21Speaker 1: but my doors.
- 0:22Speaker 3: In my backyard, I can't. I can't help it.
- 0:25Speaker 1: It's Daniel, as the executive producer of the show. I
- 0:28Speaker 1: don't mind a little bird chirping.
- 0:30Speaker 3: It's my back it's my backyard. So I have a
- 0:34Speaker 3: We built a waterfall, right, and an ecosystem has started
- 0:39Speaker 3: to blossom. And said waterfall, said water with all, even
- 0:43Speaker 3: with the windows closed.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Right, all right, let's roll, Daniel, I'm rolling as Donald.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Are you rolling?
- 0:54Speaker 3: I am as fifty five seconds into the podcast, Daniel.
- 0:59Speaker 1: I've he got ten point nine megabytes of content for you.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Daniel, that's a lot of megabites. I'm stoked.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Hey everybody, Hello, listeners, Welcome to the program. This is
- 1:14Speaker 1: a Scrubs rewatch podcast.
- 1:17Speaker 3: We are with Sack and Donald.
- 1:19Speaker 1: We are quickly running out episodes, quickly running out of episodes.
- 1:22Speaker 1: But don't you worry. We have a whole new plan
- 1:24Speaker 1: for you had a big meeting about it, had a
- 1:26Speaker 1: very big meeting, Daniel. You weren't there.
- 1:28Speaker 2: I was not there. You were right about that.
- 1:30Speaker 1: I guess you don't come to big meetings about the
- 1:32Speaker 1: future of the show.
- 1:35Speaker 2: I trust Joel as the as the iHeart representing executive
- 1:39Speaker 2: producer of the show. I know that Joel. Joel was
- 1:42Speaker 2: so glorious in this meeting. It went really well.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Joel, how did you feel about the Star Wars corner.
- 1:49Speaker 4: I'm with Zach that that sounds like a different show.
- 1:52Speaker 4: And no, I love you and talk to you about
- 1:55Speaker 4: Star Wars. That's a dream of mine. I don't That's
- 1:58Speaker 4: all I need every week, teen minutes to make a
- 2:00Speaker 4: show that you can do ad sales.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Yeah, you can't sell a five minute show, Donald, you can.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Sell a fifteen So fifteen minutes it's all we need.
- 2:08Speaker 1: We have this out because I think we should just
- 2:10Speaker 1: clear the air here. Donald, if you don't mind, in
- 2:13Speaker 1: the spirit of just honesty, you feel like doing a
- 2:17Speaker 1: separate Star Wars show, You don't have the bandwidth or
- 2:20Speaker 1: space and time to do it.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Not even a little bit, especially if you're you're busy man.
- 2:24Speaker 5: You got young kids.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Yeah, you kids, I've got other jobs that.
- 2:30Speaker 2: He has a TV show on NBC.
- 2:32Speaker 3: Well, it's not on NBC right now. It's on Peacock.
- 2:35Speaker 3: That's where you can find it. So isn't it?
- 2:38Speaker 2: Isn't it? Sometimes on NBC?
- 2:40Speaker 3: It is on NBC when the season hopefully is renewed
- 2:46Speaker 3: if the.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Show, When do you find out if the show is renewed?
- 2:49Speaker 2: Donald? It's Donald, right, it is.
- 2:51Speaker 1: When do you find out if?
- 2:53Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 2:53Speaker 3: With a cue correct, Okay, when do.
- 2:54Speaker 1: You find out if the show is renewed?
- 2:56Speaker 2: Donald?
- 2:57Speaker 1: How will that go down?
- 2:58Speaker 3: I'll tell you, Zach, I don't know, to be honest
- 3:03Speaker 3: with you, I a ballpark. I believe around upfronts, which
- 3:08Speaker 3: is around Mother's Day. So within the next month.
- 3:12Speaker 2: May tenth is Mother's Day, I believe something like that.
- 3:15Speaker 2: So you're going to.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Find out mid May if you have a very lucrative job,
- 3:21Speaker 1: and then you might not.
- 3:23Speaker 3: And then I might be unemployed. Like so, a lot
- 3:26Speaker 3: of pressure are right now.
- 3:27Speaker 2: It's a lot of pressures. This is the a lot of.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Pressure on me and my status as the you know,
- 3:35Speaker 3: breadwinner of the family. That's the first pressure. It's also
- 3:38Speaker 3: a lot of pressure on NBC. NBC. I know I
- 3:41Speaker 3: know you've got a lot of shows, You've got decisions
- 3:44Speaker 3: to make, right, but we know what the right decision is,
- 3:47Speaker 3: don't we.
- 3:47Speaker 1: I thought the ratings were good with this show, right.
- 3:50Speaker 3: The ratings are great with the show. But television ratings
- 3:52Speaker 3: don't matter anymore. It's all about streaming ratings now, and
- 3:56Speaker 3: so what we do? You know the the However, many
- 4:00Speaker 3: people that watch television now the traditional way, that number
- 4:07Speaker 3: has diminished so much that they look for, you know,
- 4:12Speaker 3: what did the show do in thirty days instead of
- 4:15Speaker 3: what did the show do that night?
- 4:20Speaker 2: Got it?
- 4:21Speaker 1: So what you're what you It isn't like you can say, hey,
- 4:24Speaker 1: holy cow, look at the numbers we did, because the
- 4:28Speaker 1: powers that be are looking at what the streaming numbers are.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Right, and so you can have a showy days per show,
- 4:34Speaker 3: though also per show, thirty per show.
- 4:38Speaker 1: You could have a show that's doing very well in
- 4:40Speaker 1: today's numbers, in its in its live slot, but still
- 4:44Speaker 1: not get picked up because it isn't performing well on
- 4:46Speaker 1: the streaming.
- 4:47Speaker 3: Plot, in the streaming side of things, because that's where
- 4:48Speaker 3: everything has to live now.
- 4:50Speaker 2: So that's tough.
- 4:51Speaker 1: That's you're living in a bit of a limbo state
- 4:54Speaker 1: until you find out.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Until you find out. Yes, that's what, that's what. That's
- 4:58Speaker 3: that's But the great thing of about network television is
- 5:02Speaker 3: they still do long seried seasons, you know what I mean.
- 5:05Speaker 3: So there's still like twenty two episode seasons on network
- 5:11Speaker 3: television streaming it's ten, eight, six, sometimes three.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Oh. I love listening to you, count, you.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Know what I mean. I'm going backwards.
- 5:23Speaker 2: I don't know, no, I see, I'm following in the.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Diamonds cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool. Well,
- 5:30Speaker 3: you know what I mean, Like one shows picked up Count.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Well, I hope for your sake, you seem to money aside,
- 5:43Speaker 1: you seem to really enjoy the show. So for your sake,
- 5:45Speaker 1: I hope I really.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Do enjoy working with Michae O'Malley and John Cryer and
- 5:49Speaker 3: Abigail Spencer. I like going to work, and I like
- 5:53Speaker 3: being myself in front of the crew, you know what
- 5:55Speaker 3: I mean.
- 5:55Speaker 1: I like, Well, you're also such a performer, and the
- 6:00Speaker 1: benefit for you of doing a multi camon from an
- 6:02Speaker 1: audience is that you get the feedback and the laughter
- 6:06Speaker 1: and the joy from the audience, which I think is
- 6:08Speaker 1: probably very good for your mental health.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Absolutely so, NBC do it for me and my mental health.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Thank you, Yes, make your decisions. This isn't crazy that
- 6:17Speaker 1: somewhere one one person is just going to look at
- 6:20Speaker 1: a spreadsheet and be like no, no, and then all
- 6:22Speaker 1: those people, all those job out of a job. Or
- 6:26Speaker 1: in the case of this Coyote, what's the Wily Coyote
- 6:29Speaker 1: movie that got canceled? It's like all of those people,
- 6:32Speaker 1: but so much work into that movie, so many years,
- 6:35Speaker 1: so many so much blood, sweat and tears. And someone
- 6:39Speaker 1: looked at a spreadsheet and said, you know, if we
- 6:41Speaker 1: just never released it and took a tax right off,
- 6:44Speaker 1: we could, we could, we could recoup a lot of money.
- 6:47Speaker 1: And just I imagine one or two people were like, all right,
- 6:50Speaker 1: do that. It's just so amazing. And I know in
- 6:53Speaker 1: all business, I'm sure, but in Hollywood, how how many
- 6:55Speaker 1: huge decisions that affect so many people are made in
- 6:59Speaker 1: that way.
- 7:00Speaker 3: What's crazy is that it's still art, you know what
- 7:02Speaker 3: I mean, and people are betting on art before it's
- 7:05Speaker 3: even put out, you know what I mean, Before it's
- 7:07Speaker 3: even before the art is even viewed by the public,
- 7:11Speaker 3: it's already being it's already being sold and or deemed unworthy.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Of being art. You know what I mean. This isn't
- 7:19Speaker 3: real art, you know what I mean? Like, but this
- 7:21Speaker 3: shit is all art, regardless of what you make, regardless
- 7:24Speaker 3: of what. If you've got a story to tell, everyone
- 7:27Speaker 3: has a story to tell, and if you're brave enough
- 7:30Speaker 3: to put it on some type of recording and release
- 7:35Speaker 3: it to the masses, dude, that's art, you know what
- 7:38Speaker 3: I mean? And who is anyone to stifle it? That's
- 7:41Speaker 3: how I feel.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Yeah, well, there's so much money involved, so you do
- 7:44Speaker 1: have to understand the capitalism at all. It's just in
- 7:48Speaker 1: some of these cases, it's so sad when you think
- 7:51Speaker 1: of basically, artists are in Hollywood are stocks, and it's
- 7:55Speaker 1: just how it's so fascinating when you zoom out and
- 7:57Speaker 1: think of us all being traded up and down like stock. Yeah,
- 8:01Speaker 1: your show is a stock.
- 8:02Speaker 3: It is.
- 8:03Speaker 1: The Wiley Coyote movie is a stock, and they and
- 8:05Speaker 1: they buy and trade and sell it. That's how the
- 8:07Speaker 1: town works. Yeah, well, I hope you get what you want.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Donald Faon so too.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Life is life, and it is what it is, and.
- 8:16Speaker 1: You'll always find another job. You're very funny and listen.
- 8:19Speaker 1: One thing I can say for sure is that talented
- 8:21Speaker 1: people work. Sometimes they have more work, sometimes they have
- 8:24Speaker 1: less work. But if you're talented and you're kind, you
- 8:28Speaker 1: will find work. And I think you're talented and kind.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Oh you know some people might disagree. I'm sure, but.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Hey, I don't think there's anyone that wouldn't say.
- 8:39Speaker 3: I accept and receive it from you. Yo. Can I
- 8:42Speaker 3: just say one thing?
- 8:42Speaker 2: Yes, it's your show. You can say whatever you want.
- 8:45Speaker 3: I want to switch subjects real quick.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Okay, is it about Star last week?
- 8:49Speaker 3: No, it's not about Star Wars either.
- 8:52Speaker 1: We were on a call audience, a big, big call
- 8:54Speaker 1: with like ten people from my heart, and I want
- 8:57Speaker 1: to Dave Don. Donald brought up Donald brought up Star
- 8:59Speaker 1: Wars no less than five times in a half hour
- 9:02Speaker 1: zoom call.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Yeah, go ahead, Yeah.
- 9:05Speaker 1: And we were talking about future guests, and Donald's main
- 9:07Speaker 1: request was Dave Filoni. If anyone listening, if anyone listening
- 9:12Speaker 1: knows Dave Feloni, he's no, he likes you. Listen of
- 9:19Speaker 1: all our listeners, many of whom are in Hollywood. If
- 9:22Speaker 1: you have any connection to Dave Filoni, Joelle, what's the
- 9:26Speaker 1: email address? Or you can slide into Joel Monique's DMS
- 9:29Speaker 1: on Instagram.
- 9:31Speaker 5: I will not see your dms on Instagram.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Okay, you don't read the dms.
- 9:34Speaker 4: Okay, very private, Please don't say me things, but you can't.
- 9:38Speaker 4: Email us at scrubs, iHeart at gmail dot com.
- 9:41Speaker 1: And Grubsiheart at gmail dot com. We're gonna wait, wait, Donald,
- 9:44Speaker 1: calm down. We do have professional means of reaching out
- 9:47Speaker 1: to Dave Filoni to make Donald's dreams come true. For
- 9:49Speaker 1: those of you who don't know, Dave Filoni is the
- 9:51Speaker 1: head of Lucasfilms who decides all this Star Wars stuff
- 9:54Speaker 1: that is so important to Donald.
- 9:56Speaker 3: But I'm just a creative over there all.
- 9:58Speaker 1: I'm just I don't mean to minimize his contributions to
- 10:02Speaker 1: the Star Wars universe.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Donal, you don't have to roll your eyes either when
- 10:05Speaker 3: you say it.
- 10:06Speaker 1: I'm just saying that we are going to try the
- 10:08Speaker 1: professional means of reaching Dave Filoni. But in case anyone
- 10:11Speaker 1: listening is like Dave Feloni's best friend, please help us
- 10:15Speaker 1: out for don Anyway, what were you going to say
- 10:18Speaker 1: before I took a sea I.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Have discovered so last week I was talking about how
- 10:22Speaker 3: there's nothing to watch, Yes, so I revisited what done part.
- 10:29Speaker 2: One, Oh Dune part one.
- 10:32Speaker 3: And well I always loved it. Yeah, great, and now
- 10:37Speaker 3: the sequel is just dropped, and did you want just ish?
- 10:41Speaker 2: But yes, did you watch it?
- 10:43Speaker 3: I've watched it twice already.
- 10:44Speaker 2: You watched the sequel twice already. Okay, good, we finally
- 10:47Speaker 2: found some content that you like.
- 10:49Speaker 3: That's Charlemaye is one fucking Charles Salamy young man.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Yeah, Charlemagne, Charlemaye Charona, however you say his name, Charlem May.
- 11:00Speaker 1: I was like, I honestly thought that might be a
- 11:02Speaker 1: character in the movie. And I was like, oh no,
- 11:06Speaker 1: that Tim shallow May you like you some shallow man.
- 11:09Speaker 3: He's one charming young man. He's how many times have
- 11:15Speaker 3: you watched it? Daniel?
- 11:17Speaker 2: Just the one time?
- 11:18Speaker 3: But it was have you seen okay, I've seen you.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Guys know how I refuse to go to the movies now.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Sorry, we know, we know all the reasons.
- 11:25Speaker 3: Yes, I wish I would have saw this one in
- 11:29Speaker 3: the theaters.
- 11:30Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, you do that right alone.
- 11:33Speaker 3: My god, holy shit, he said this was a movie
- 11:38Speaker 3: for the theaters.
- 11:40Speaker 5: Take it down.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Well, I'm glad. Most importantly, I'm glad you found some
- 11:46Speaker 1: content that you that you like. Donald That's that's what
- 11:49Speaker 1: I like to see.
- 11:49Speaker 2: I like to see you.
- 11:50Speaker 1: You love art, you love sci fi.
- 11:53Speaker 3: This is really good sci fi too. This ain't no
- 11:55Speaker 3: bullshit sci fi. This is like the mother of all
- 11:59Speaker 3: sci This is I mean, other than two thousand and
- 12:03Speaker 3: one A Space Odyssey. Uh, this is the mother. This
- 12:06Speaker 3: is the This is the one that Lucas, This is
- 12:08Speaker 3: the one that everybody has bitten off of. This is
- 12:12Speaker 3: the one that everybody is biting off of. Holy cow, dude,
- 12:17Speaker 3: holy cow wow.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I want you to just if I could back up
- 12:21Speaker 1: for a second, I want you to think that there
- 12:23Speaker 1: is a lot of other content out there that you
- 12:26Speaker 1: might consume that would make you as excited as this.
- 12:29Speaker 1: I want you to be open to the possibility of
- 12:32Speaker 1: watching more good things.
- 12:34Speaker 3: But I can watch this and see where everybody, you
- 12:37Speaker 3: know what I mean, even in the old one as well.
- 12:38Speaker 3: I can watch this and see where everybody's getting their
- 12:41Speaker 3: ideas from. You know what I mean, and why certain
- 12:44Speaker 3: things are so important and you know what I mean,
- 12:47Speaker 3: Like this is it's the store every every hero's journey.
- 12:52Speaker 3: It seems like this is it. You can see all
- 12:57Speaker 3: the tropes, all the tropes are there, but this has
- 13:00Speaker 3: done very well. So shout out to Charlemaye for shut up,
- 13:05Speaker 3: shut up. Shout out Challow May for carrying this movie
- 13:09Speaker 3: and doing a very good job.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Same thing with Zindeya and our beloved Florence Pugh Donald.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Yeah. Man, she's not really in this one that much,
- 13:17Speaker 3: don't you know what I mean? Yeah, but she's not
- 13:20Speaker 3: in it that much, man, you know what I mean?
- 13:22Speaker 3: I know the next one, she's definitely.
- 13:25Speaker 2: The next one.
- 13:26Speaker 1: I think the next one is where she gets a
- 13:28Speaker 1: lot more to do. Yeah, And I think it's pretty
- 13:31Speaker 1: clear there's going to be a next one.
- 13:33Speaker 3: I just announced the next one. I think. I don't
- 13:37Speaker 3: know that they did, did they?
- 13:38Speaker 1: Well, the movie made nine trillion dollars. I'm not going
- 13:41Speaker 1: to make a next one.
- 13:42Speaker 2: I know that is at least the plan. It's a
- 13:44Speaker 2: three parter.
- 13:45Speaker 3: I haven't felt this way about a movie or a
- 13:47Speaker 3: trilogy in a very long time. I hope they stick
- 13:50Speaker 3: the landing. Please stick the landing, you know what I mean.
- 13:52Speaker 3: I think the last time I felt this way was
- 13:54Speaker 3: Avengers in Game.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Well, he's pretty he's he has said he wants to
- 14:00Speaker 1: make a third one. He just needs a break from
- 14:01Speaker 1: the world of done for a bit you den Villanov
- 14:05Speaker 1: French Canadian right talented people as a whole? Should we
- 14:11Speaker 1: get into the Scrubs? Donald, Why don't you count us
- 14:13Speaker 1: in like you do so beautifully.
- 14:15Speaker 3: I'm gonna wait for the plane to.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Go by, really, because some of our listeners don't want
- 14:21Speaker 1: to wait for the plane to go by.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Wait for it, Wait for it, wait for it.
- 14:27Speaker 3: Hold five, six, seven?
- 14:31Speaker 2: Stories?
- 14:32Speaker 3: You're not sure we made about a bunch of dogs
- 14:36Speaker 3: and nurses, said.
- 14:40Speaker 6: He's the stories net.
- 14:45Speaker 3: So gather here, yead here.
- 14:54Speaker 1: This is the first episode of Scrubs that I'm not
- 14:59Speaker 1: in in any way. Now I've been not been in
- 15:02Speaker 1: an episode or two before, but I think even my
- 15:05Speaker 1: name was on as a credit. I think this was
- 15:07Speaker 1: the first time I was only on as executive producer.
- 15:10Speaker 1: I thought I did six episodes, but I guess I
- 15:12Speaker 1: only did five.
- 15:13Speaker 3: There's one more episode. You come back and you and
- 15:15Speaker 3: Elliott are about to have a baby moon or some
- 15:18Speaker 3: shit like that.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Oh, that's it.
- 15:21Speaker 2: They must have delayed it.
- 15:22Speaker 1: They must have shot it and delayed it because I
- 15:25Speaker 1: thought that I knew I had done six and this
- 15:28Speaker 1: is number five. Sorry, this is number six.
- 15:32Speaker 3: With the three there's only one episode this whole season
- 15:35Speaker 3: with the three of us.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Well, audience, you know more than anything from listening to
- 15:38Speaker 1: this podcast, that we like to go into each episode fresh.
- 15:42Speaker 1: We don't like listening and watching from a place of
- 15:44Speaker 1: having a specific point of view going into it. We
- 15:47Speaker 1: like to clear our slate. We like to wipe our
- 15:50Speaker 1: whiteboards fresh and clean as we take in a new episode,
- 15:54Speaker 1: a new oh boy, and I would like to say,
- 15:58Speaker 1: are you ready with that caveat? I would like to say,
- 16:02Speaker 1: this is probably the worst episode of Scrub. It is
- 16:06Speaker 1: a fucking mess. Was abysmal. Yes, Joelle, you're laughing your thoughts, uh.
- 16:15Speaker 4: I think when I was watching, I was like, I
- 16:17Speaker 4: feel like I like this a little bit more than
- 16:18Speaker 4: last week's episode, which it was really difficult for me.
- 16:21Speaker 4: I was like, this is a slog, but this one
- 16:23Speaker 4: was to your point all over the place.
- 16:25Speaker 3: It was just what the fuck? What? No idea?
- 16:29Speaker 4: The whole cold storyline was just bananas?
- 16:32Speaker 3: What about? How about the a storyline?
- 16:35Speaker 5: Where did you hear Dad on the phone?
- 16:37Speaker 3: Where? What the hell? What?
- 16:40Speaker 2: What about?
- 16:40Speaker 1: Can I just talk about? Like maybe the nator is
- 16:43Speaker 1: how you say that word?
- 16:44Speaker 2: Right?
- 16:45Speaker 1: The lowest point Nat, dear dear, nator.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Look that up, Dannel, because I've heard it both ways.
- 16:50Speaker 3: Okay, I've heard it, Dear, I've heard it, Nader, I've
- 16:55Speaker 3: heard it Nadr. I've heard it.
- 16:58Speaker 1: I've heard both, dear, Nat, and I want to say
- 17:01Speaker 1: it right for the audience. I want them to think
- 17:02Speaker 1: that I know an s a T word here.
- 17:06Speaker 3: I've heard it nor, not her, noder, not her, not her,
- 17:13Speaker 3: not her, not her.
- 17:15Speaker 2: It's nader. Now it seems like it's nator in American
- 17:19Speaker 2: English and nadir in British English.
- 17:25Speaker 3: In my British accents.
- 17:27Speaker 1: I'm interestingscribed to. Well, I'm an American Daniel, so I
- 17:30Speaker 1: feel like I should say nator.
- 17:32Speaker 3: I will say it to my British accents.
- 17:36Speaker 2: I think for you, Yeah, that's that's.
- 17:39Speaker 1: I think that our English fans will say that you
- 17:40Speaker 1: nailed that, thank you. I think that the Nator of
- 17:45Speaker 1: nine episodes of Scrubs, maybe Turk saying, I can't believe
- 17:50Speaker 1: you get to see j D naked?
- 17:53Speaker 3: I like that, Actually, well, why do you want to
- 17:58Speaker 3: see me naked? That's never like he wants to fuck. No.
- 18:03Speaker 2: I don't know, dude.
- 18:04Speaker 1: The joke is that the joke of our whole relationship
- 18:07Speaker 1: is that we're heterosexual men who are who are silly
- 18:10Speaker 1: and flirty in a way, but we love each other.
- 18:12Speaker 1: We're not We don't want to fuck each other. You
- 18:14Speaker 1: don't not longing to see my cock? What the fuck
- 18:17Speaker 1: is that?
- 18:20Speaker 3: Why are you so offended?
- 18:21Speaker 2: I just thought it was so stupid.
- 18:23Speaker 3: You're so offended.
- 18:24Speaker 2: You're literally earnestly man that.
- 18:27Speaker 3: You long to see my cock? How come I co?
- 18:29Speaker 3: How come turnkit long to see j d'scock?
- 18:31Speaker 1: The character is not making a joke. He's earnestly sad
- 18:35Speaker 1: and jealous that he's mad.
- 18:37Speaker 3: No, he's mad that she has the privilege of seeing
- 18:41Speaker 3: you naked when she doesn't even know how to do
- 18:45Speaker 3: any of it. She doesn't know about eagling. She doesn't
- 18:47Speaker 3: know what eagling is.
- 18:48Speaker 1: You didn't think it was odd that Turk is longing
- 18:51Speaker 1: to see JD naked?
- 18:53Speaker 3: He I don't think. I don't think that's I don't
- 18:55Speaker 3: think that's what he's really saying. I think he's saying, Yo,
- 18:58Speaker 3: you're like him at all. There's nothing him about you.
- 19:04Speaker 3: And you guys get and you get to bang, You
- 19:06Speaker 3: guys get to have sex. This doesn't make sense. How
- 19:09Speaker 3: does this make sense.
- 19:11Speaker 1: I think it. I think it's really off and weird
- 19:15Speaker 1: because the whole show was weird, the whole joke. But
- 19:18Speaker 1: let me come on, I'm all worked up. The whole
- 19:21Speaker 1: joke of our relationship, which audience has loved and we
- 19:24Speaker 1: loved playing because it is really us, is that we
- 19:27Speaker 1: are these kind of guys. You and I do stupid ship.
- 19:30Speaker 1: You and I do do growing to groin, hug and laugh.
- 19:33Speaker 1: We don't want to fuck each other. I don't want
- 19:35Speaker 1: to sound talk. Why longing to see JD's cock?
- 19:41Speaker 3: Not once, You've never wanted to be like, I wonder
- 19:43Speaker 3: what it looks like.
- 19:44Speaker 2: I've seen it.
- 19:45Speaker 1: It's fine, it's fine, it's cirzy and fine.
- 19:49Speaker 3: What do we what are we doing?
- 19:50Speaker 1: It looks like it might it looks it looks like
- 19:53Speaker 1: it might hurt.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Wow.
- 20:01Speaker 3: This yo, this this show makes no sense. What's so?
- 20:04Speaker 2: I mean, it makes sense, I guess, but it's just
- 20:06Speaker 2: it's horrible. Does again? I went up before we going there?
- 20:09Speaker 3: Dad? In the morning, Dad, I just had.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Sex and then hold them later while she's fucking cold
- 20:15Speaker 1: doing it.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Oh, he's got me Doggystown Dad.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Yeah, this is on ABC.
- 20:21Speaker 3: By the way, on ABC.
- 20:23Speaker 2: This was trash.
- 20:24Speaker 1: And again, before we go into details, I want to
- 20:27Speaker 1: no disrespect to the creative people behind it. I know
- 20:30Speaker 1: they were doing their best. The actors are all lovely,
- 20:32Speaker 1: the writers are all funny people.
- 20:34Speaker 3: I was not lovely. I was trash.
- 20:35Speaker 1: This just doesn't work. And Donald was very broad. But
- 20:38Speaker 1: that's not your mind into that horrible Yeah.
- 20:40Speaker 2: You are so bad been away along.
- 20:42Speaker 3: I am very you have been away a long time.
- 20:45Speaker 3: This motherfucker man straight.
- 20:46Speaker 1: By the way, Dan, I need that as a sound
- 20:48Speaker 1: bite on my sound machine. Donald's oh yeah, Donald's line
- 20:51Speaker 1: reading from his Campbell's soup commercial.
- 20:54Speaker 2: No, it's not Campbell's folders. Folders a best part of
- 20:58Speaker 2: waking off. Damn, oh, jessy ya.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Two things I need for the soundboard are I need
- 21:04Speaker 1: the song Ocula you totally dissed me on Yeah, I mean,
- 21:09Speaker 1: I feel like iHeart pays you decently well and you
- 21:12Speaker 1: should deliver the goods. You're right, I'm I'm just kidding,
- 21:17Speaker 1: It's okay. And also I need Donald saying you have
- 21:21Speaker 1: been away a long time, in away a long time.
- 21:28Speaker 2: All right.
- 21:29Speaker 1: So Lucy gets up at five thirty in the morning
- 21:32Speaker 1: and she's overwhelmed her schedule, so she tells her.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Dad that she had sex.
- 21:38Speaker 1: She's she's trying to get all in. She has to
- 21:40Speaker 1: call her dad at five thirty, and then she tells
- 21:42Speaker 1: her dad that she's having her lady needs taken care
- 21:45Speaker 1: of and that she's in the middle of a real
- 21:48Speaker 1: sexual awakening. And then Cole wakes up and says, once
- 21:51Speaker 1: you wake up the troops. She got a storm the
- 21:53Speaker 1: beach regarding his morning wood.
- 21:56Speaker 4: And then she's like, I do have time for that?
- 21:57Speaker 4: I said, girl, what are you doing? Go to class?
- 22:00Speaker 2: Well?
- 22:00Speaker 1: She really, I mean, one thing is for certain. Even
- 22:02Speaker 1: though Dave Franco's character is the worst, she really does
- 22:08Speaker 1: love having sex with him.
- 22:11Speaker 3: Well, not only that, his jokes are starting to become
- 22:14Speaker 3: charming now too, like by the end of the episode.
- 22:18Speaker 3: By the end of the episode, I like his character
- 22:24Speaker 3: the most out of everybody. He's the funny One's the one.
- 22:27Speaker 2: What are you talking about? I thought he was.
- 22:29Speaker 1: I think he's the biggest douche in the world.
- 22:31Speaker 3: He makes me laugh so hard at some of the
- 22:34Speaker 3: things that he's saying about being stoned.
- 22:36Speaker 2: Yeah, you were just because there was a weed joke.
- 22:38Speaker 2: There was a weed joke.
- 22:39Speaker 3: There's also there's also you know how okay balloons?
- 22:45Speaker 2: What made those balloons go up?
- 22:46Speaker 3: I think it was something like this thing.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Is so stupid. I gotta say. I was just on
- 22:50Speaker 2: a zoom call.
- 22:51Speaker 1: The woman who was sign she was pitching me a show,
- 22:55Speaker 1: and she was being really just gesticulate. It was out
- 22:58Speaker 1: of a comedy sketch. She kept gesticulating, and then like
- 23:01Speaker 1: in the middle of an important point, like there'd be
- 23:03Speaker 1: fireworks because and then and then no, she didn't want them, Joelle.
- 23:09Speaker 1: This was no one. No one knows how to turn
- 23:12Speaker 1: this fucking thing off. So she was like making a
- 23:14Speaker 1: pitch to me, and every time she was like making
- 23:16Speaker 1: a point, there'd be fireworks, and I just had.
- 23:18Speaker 2: To start laughing in her face. That's very funny, Daniel.
- 23:23Speaker 1: We need to do a public service and tell people
- 23:25Speaker 1: how to turn that off if they want.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Well, it's you know, we can do it. And in fact,
- 23:30Speaker 2: I'll insert it right here.
- 23:31Speaker 1: And Daniel's going to tell you if you if you
- 23:33Speaker 1: don't want to see that new what is it called?
- 23:35Speaker 2: It's what is it? They're called reactions. They're part of
- 23:38Speaker 2: the new mac os Sonoma.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Yeah, if you don't want that on, Daniel's going to
- 23:42Speaker 1: tell you how to turn off right now.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Hey listeners, it's DJ Danel tired of those pesky hand
- 23:48Speaker 2: gestures ruining your meeting, trying to make a serious point
- 23:51Speaker 2: only to have it interrupted by fireworks. Sounds like you
- 23:54Speaker 2: have the latest Apple operating system Sonoma, and need to
- 23:58Speaker 2: turn off video Reaction, and I'm going to tell you how. First,
- 24:03Speaker 2: enter your chosen video conferencing app as normal. Once your
- 24:07Speaker 2: camera has turned on, you'll notice a green video icon
- 24:10Speaker 2: in the top right of your menu bar, next to
- 24:12Speaker 2: the day and time. Open the green video menu and
- 24:15Speaker 2: click the icon next to the word reactions to deactivate it.
- 24:19Speaker 2: If it's turned off, the icon will look gray instead
- 24:22Speaker 2: of blue. And that's it. No more thumbs ups or
- 24:25Speaker 2: hearthands embarrassing you when you're trying to ask your boss
- 24:29Speaker 2: for a raise. Now back to the show, Thank you, Dan?
- 24:34Speaker 2: All right? So what.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Public dun.
- 24:40Speaker 3: So at the end of the episode, I honestly think
- 24:42Speaker 3: cole is I started laughing at his jokes midway through.
- 24:47Speaker 3: I'm like, Okay, that's funny, that's funny. That's the actually
- 24:51Speaker 3: the better joke of the show. That's the better joke.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Well, Dave Franco is such a funny performer that I
- 24:58Speaker 1: like him so much, but I also such a good
- 25:00Speaker 1: actor that I was like, I fucking hate this character.
- 25:03Speaker 2: He's the worst.
- 25:05Speaker 3: But and he and once you get that that's who
- 25:08Speaker 3: the character is, it became funny to me and I
- 25:12Speaker 3: started laughing at some of the ship. He said like,
- 25:14Speaker 3: once the whatever.
- 25:16Speaker 5: Once you wake the troops.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Once, once you wake up the troops, you gotta storm.
- 25:20Speaker 3: The beach, meaning he needs time to fuck.
- 25:23Speaker 1: He has quite a labido. Maybe you maybe you identify
- 25:26Speaker 1: with him because he.
- 25:27Speaker 3: Has quite well, that is his character, but I like
- 25:30Speaker 3: the fact that you know there's something in there. Also,
- 25:33Speaker 3: he wants to go hang out with a patient who's
- 25:36Speaker 3: got some fucked up shit going on, and he's gonna shoot.
- 25:39Speaker 2: The ship because the guy has weed. Because the guy
- 25:42Speaker 2: has weed.
- 25:43Speaker 3: Yeah, but nobody's gonna hang out. Nobody's hanging out with
- 25:45Speaker 3: the guy. The guys in the hospital for some terminal ship.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Yeah, but he's just done there.
- 25:49Speaker 1: No, he's got glaucoma and he's only going there because
- 25:51Speaker 1: he has government weeds. We'll get there. You're jumping ahead. Uh,
- 25:56Speaker 1: Turk is really Turk's storyline is that he's mourning Jay
- 26:00Speaker 1: and then there's a New Orleans style funeral.
- 26:03Speaker 2: Yes, and Carrie Bosche says he done gone design. Yeah,
- 26:09Speaker 2: that was really fucking uncomfortable.
- 26:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean this whole show is really uncomfortable.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Now no, wait, now I have a question. What do
- 26:19Speaker 1: you call that type of funeral other than a New
- 26:21Speaker 1: Orleans style funeral?
- 26:22Speaker 2: Is that what you call it?
- 26:24Speaker 4: I want to say homegoming, but I think that's just
- 26:27Speaker 4: it's a very black aspective, because a homegoming, I don't know.
- 26:31Speaker 1: I've only seen that in reference to it, like a
- 26:33Speaker 1: New Orleans style funeral. That's what I That's how I
- 26:36Speaker 1: picture it. It was a cool looking fantasy. By the way,
- 26:39Speaker 1: they only used it for a split second. There's no fansy.
- 26:42Speaker 1: I think that's the only fantasy in the whole show.
- 26:45Speaker 4: New Orleans Tourism Board calls it a jazz funeral. Begets
- 26:49Speaker 4: at a church or funeral home and leads the way
- 26:51Speaker 4: to the cemetery more as you're joined by a brass
- 26:54Speaker 4: band that plays music that starts off heavy and sad
- 26:56Speaker 4: but soon turns celebratory.
- 26:58Speaker 2: I think that's so cool.
- 26:59Speaker 3: By the way, it's freaking awesome that I would love
- 27:02Speaker 3: a parade.
- 27:03Speaker 2: I love a parade.
- 27:06Speaker 3: I love a parade.
- 27:08Speaker 1: I think that a jazz funeral is fucking cool. I've
- 27:12Speaker 1: never been to one.
- 27:14Speaker 3: That would be an awesome way to go A celebration,
- 27:17Speaker 3: A celebration, a parade.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Well, I told you the John Redders story. I've always
- 27:22Speaker 1: thought of that. In fact of I think I told
- 27:25Speaker 1: you guys right when you hear the USC marching band, Yeah,
- 27:28Speaker 1: the USC marching At the end of the memorial, the
- 27:31Speaker 1: USC Marching Band came in because John Redder loved the
- 27:34Speaker 1: USC and they played a whole band at full volume
- 27:37Speaker 1: in this auditorium, and then it was so powerful And
- 27:41Speaker 1: I actually put that in wish I was here, shot it,
- 27:46Speaker 1: and then ended up not using it.
- 27:47Speaker 2: But I don't know why. I wish I had because
- 27:50Speaker 2: it was really cool.
- 27:51Speaker 3: There's something really special about my culture. I remember seeing
- 27:56Speaker 3: a movie when I was a kid. My mom loved it,
- 27:59Speaker 3: and it was about this woman who was like the
- 28:02Speaker 3: she was the nanny to this family, but her daughter
- 28:08Speaker 3: was actually passing as a white girl, but she was black. Yeah,
- 28:17Speaker 3: but every check the woman got, she would put a
- 28:22Speaker 3: little bit away for her funeral. So at the end
- 28:25Speaker 3: of the movie, when her funeral happens, it's this huge
- 28:28Speaker 3: parade for this woman who I forget the name of
- 28:33Speaker 3: the movie. And this is such a classic movie. The
- 28:37Speaker 3: star of the movie won an Academy Award for it.
- 28:39Speaker 3: I think she's the first black woman to ever win
- 28:41Speaker 3: an Academy Award. I'm not, am I wrong?
- 28:44Speaker 5: You're the first black woman to win an Academy Award.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Was in.
- 28:50Speaker 4: You?
- 28:51Speaker 3: But wasn't she the person that played She might not
- 28:54Speaker 3: be the person who played this character.
- 28:55Speaker 4: Then are you saying she's the same woman but not
- 28:58Speaker 4: for the ale.
- 29:00Speaker 3: I don't know. I could be wrong. All I know
- 29:02Speaker 3: is she puts the money away at the end of
- 29:03Speaker 3: the It's an old movie. It's older than I am,
- 29:06Speaker 3: and it's probably came out when my mother was very young,
- 29:10Speaker 3: and she used to love watching that movie. That one
- 29:13Speaker 3: and Mommy deris. I don't know why Mommy deris, but
- 29:15Speaker 3: that one and Mommy deris, No why that movie? Imitation
- 29:21Speaker 3: of Life, Imitation of Life, Imitation.
- 29:24Speaker 4: Of life, Starrying hating McDonald, Yeah, it's I watched it
- 29:26Speaker 4: in film school when I was through. I was like,
- 29:28Speaker 4: I didn't know we were making movies like this.
- 29:30Speaker 3: Back then, right back then. A girl who is literally passing.
- 29:35Speaker 5: Nineteen thirty four is the original real estate.
- 29:37Speaker 3: Passing in white America as a white woman. And she's
- 29:42Speaker 3: really black, and her mother is like a nanny and
- 29:46Speaker 3: all types of shit, and it's just a powerful I
- 29:49Speaker 3: just remember at the end, she puts on this huge
- 29:53Speaker 3: parade for her funeral. All the money that she put
- 29:56Speaker 3: away for the funeral, and at the end that's this
- 29:58Speaker 3: huge parade. Thought, that's a way to go. Man, Like,
- 30:01Speaker 3: if you're going to go out, let everybody celebrate this
- 30:05Speaker 3: ship I want.
- 30:06Speaker 2: I want brass.
- 30:07Speaker 3: Let everybody celebrate, don't just be. And I mean I
- 30:10Speaker 3: I dread funerals. I hate crying saying goodbye. I want
- 30:15Speaker 3: it to be if I want to. If I'm going
- 30:17Speaker 3: to cry, yeah sure, But I want to celebrate your life.
- 30:20Speaker 3: I don't want to freaking, you know, mourn that you're going,
- 30:24Speaker 3: regardless of how you were taking or whatever. You know.
- 30:26Speaker 3: I want to celebrate whoever. And I hope people want
- 30:29Speaker 3: to celebrate me when.
- 30:29Speaker 2: I'm going, you honor me. I'll play a trumpet myself, baby,
- 30:34Speaker 2: at your funeral.
- 30:35Speaker 3: I want you to play it out of your buttthole, though,
- 30:37Speaker 3: I want you to take the trumpet, stick it in
- 30:39Speaker 3: your button.
- 30:40Speaker 2: Go, I'm not doing that.
- 30:42Speaker 3: What would you like me to say?
- 30:44Speaker 1: Would you like me to perform at your funeral? If
- 30:46Speaker 1: you die before me?
- 30:48Speaker 3: I die before you. I want you to do like
- 30:54Speaker 3: something that something that you know when you were just
- 30:58Speaker 3: up and coming, something that I want everybody to perform
- 31:01Speaker 3: at my funeral. I'm not gonna lie.
- 31:03Speaker 2: What do you want me to do? I want to
- 31:04Speaker 2: start rehearsing in case you.
- 31:05Speaker 3: Know, you got to fuck up. Do some type of
- 31:07Speaker 3: monologue or something like that.
- 31:08Speaker 1: Okay, something Maybe maybe I'll sing a Corner of the
- 31:10Speaker 1: Sky from Pippin.
- 31:13Speaker 3: I prefer you didn't sing.
- 31:15Speaker 2: Oh you want me to sing?
- 31:16Speaker 3: I prefer you. I prefer you.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Oh you want me to do?
- 31:19Speaker 1: Like an monologue from a play.
- 31:22Speaker 3: Or something like that, something that touch Hi.
- 31:24Speaker 1: I'm Zach Braff, I'm six foot tall, I'm with Cia,
- 31:28Speaker 1: and I'll be performing a monologue from Glengarry, Glenn Ross, Shelley,
- 31:32Speaker 1: the Machine, Levine Perfect. And then I go into go
- 31:37Speaker 1: into like a ten minute monologue and I literally just
- 31:40Speaker 1: give it all I got.
- 31:41Speaker 3: I love it. That would be the best, That would
- 31:43Speaker 3: be the best sinned off ever. All right, joking, but I'm.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Doing awesome I think you're family and friends that that
- 31:50Speaker 1: didn't know or listen to this podcast to be like,
- 31:51Speaker 1: what the fuck is Zach doing? No, I think I
- 31:54Speaker 1: have to say this was Donald Steer.
- 31:55Speaker 3: You surprised how many people. I think you'd be surprised
- 31:58Speaker 3: how many people would be like, I'm gonna I'm about
- 32:00Speaker 3: to buy impromptu ship. Here we go. Motherfuckers come out.
- 32:03Speaker 1: And if I like, what if I roasted you instead?
- 32:06Speaker 1: If I did like A like.
- 32:07Speaker 3: A, then you'd have to go on last.
- 32:12Speaker 2: Okay, well, do we know who else is performing?
- 32:15Speaker 3: Well? Definitely definitely new edition.
- 32:18Speaker 1: Who do you want like if if if, if they're
- 32:21Speaker 1: still alive, who do you want to perform?
- 32:23Speaker 2: And assume you can get anyone?
- 32:25Speaker 3: Assuming jay z.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Z Okay, maybe he makes a rap specifically about your life.
- 32:31Speaker 3: I want him to start from the beginning and go
- 32:34Speaker 3: all the way to the end.
- 32:36Speaker 2: Yeah, start from Campbell, from the Campbell's.
- 32:38Speaker 3: Folgers, motherfucker. That's the professional ship I want them to.
- 32:43Speaker 3: I want him to start from the National Black Theater, right,
- 32:47Speaker 3: take it from the National Black Theata all the way
- 32:49Speaker 3: to death.
- 32:50Speaker 2: Okay, got it? Well, I'm going to put in a
- 32:52Speaker 2: request for that.
- 32:54Speaker 3: He's still alive.
- 32:54Speaker 2: We don't know if he's going to still be alive, right.
- 32:56Speaker 3: We don't know what it is. We don't know when
- 32:58Speaker 3: it is. You don't you definite know.
- 33:00Speaker 1: If it's soon, we could probably get Dion Warwick.
- 33:03Speaker 3: And vere this way. That's what you can do, you
- 33:09Speaker 3: Dion Warwick.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, that's what friends are for.
- 33:13Speaker 3: And you can remember.
- 33:17Speaker 1: I love that song all right, So if you if
- 33:18Speaker 1: it's soon, I will sing, keep smiling.
- 33:22Speaker 3: Smiling, keep shot shining, no, and you can always count
- 33:28Speaker 3: on me. Show that's what friends are fuck, come on now,
- 33:36Speaker 3: who else?
- 33:38Speaker 2: Who else?
- 33:39Speaker 3: I want you to get? The originals?
- 33:42Speaker 1: Wdney's not alive.
- 33:43Speaker 3: Wendy Houston is not an original on that.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Who's the originals?
- 33:45Speaker 3: It's Dion Warwick, It's Elton John Stevie Wonder and Gladys
- 33:53Speaker 3: Knight where we came in opened me and now the
- 33:58Speaker 3: song much small see and I.
- 34:05Speaker 2: Thank you here.
- 34:14Speaker 3: Well and the weather to come in from and so
- 34:24Speaker 3: if you can remember remember, he goes, oh, and then
- 34:32Speaker 3: keep smiling.
- 34:34Speaker 1: Well I can keep together, man, I have a contact
- 34:36Speaker 1: to get together.
- 34:38Speaker 3: What's that?
- 34:39Speaker 2: I can get all those people together?
- 34:41Speaker 3: Awesome for my funeral?
- 34:44Speaker 1: If I really could, I have a good connection to Elton.
- 34:46Speaker 3: I can't die. I'd have to die soon, but that
- 34:48Speaker 3: to happen though.
- 34:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know how much import is. I don't
- 34:53Speaker 1: know how important this is to you. But if you
- 34:54Speaker 1: want it, you're gonna have to die sooner than later.
- 34:57Speaker 3: If I love this, I'm gonna have to croak now.
- 35:02Speaker 1: All right, on that note, we'll be right back. Just
- 35:04Speaker 1: listen to this commercial. You're gonna love it. We have
- 35:15Speaker 1: to return to talking about Scrubs now. Sarah Chalk is here.
- 35:18Speaker 1: I guess the contractual thing for season nine was they
- 35:21Speaker 1: didn't want to pay me and Sarah at the same time,
- 35:23Speaker 1: so if I left, then they could pay Sarah.
- 35:26Speaker 3: I don't know what the contract I think that's what
- 35:29Speaker 3: it was, because I'm getting money like that. Shit. Well,
- 35:31Speaker 3: we can't keep we can't afford to both of y'all,
- 35:33Speaker 3: So one of y'all motherfuckers gotta go.
- 35:35Speaker 2: Well.
- 35:36Speaker 1: I tapped out and Sarah tapped in.
- 35:38Speaker 2: That's clear we what's happened. There's no explanation.
- 35:41Speaker 1: There's no explanation as to why at all. I mean,
- 35:46Speaker 1: even the young caster introducing themselves to her, they've never
- 35:48Speaker 1: met her. No one's ever explained why she hasn't been there. Yeah,
- 35:53Speaker 1: and she's very pregnant, really for real pregnant, not fake pregnant.
- 35:58Speaker 3: Isn't this the first time? Also, so that the show
- 36:00Speaker 3: is now opened with someone else doing.
- 36:02Speaker 1: The yes, so Carrie Boshet in the title sequence puts
- 36:08Speaker 1: the X ray now facing the right way into the
- 36:13Speaker 1: light box. So there was some sad scrubs score. When
- 36:23Speaker 1: Sarah Elliott tells you that I'm that I said that
- 36:25Speaker 1: I miss you too? Did was like? And then Elliott
- 36:32Speaker 1: refers to it as riding the eagle, which really upset you.
- 36:35Speaker 3: It triggers him.
- 36:36Speaker 2: Yeah, it would trigger you too.
- 36:38Speaker 3: I think you don't ride the eagle, you eagle?
- 36:41Speaker 2: Yeah, and I don't.
- 36:43Speaker 3: Let's do the eagle. Let's eagle.
- 36:45Speaker 2: It's just eag.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Those of you out there who like to eagle your friends,
- 36:48Speaker 1: make sure you're using that correctly. You don't ride the eagle,
- 36:52Speaker 1: you eagle. It's a it's a verb. We learned that
- 36:56Speaker 1: JD and Turk had a pillow fight club.
- 37:01Speaker 3: You don't talk about that shit.
- 37:03Speaker 1: You don't talk about it. Denise is so fucking nuts
- 37:05Speaker 1: that she jokingly tells her boyfriend that she's late with
- 37:10Speaker 1: her period and then it turns him on. He says
- 37:14Speaker 1: that he vibes on crazy. Obviously, you or someone one
- 37:18Speaker 1: of you guys pointed it out that they're so obviously
- 37:21Speaker 1: meant to be. Yeah, Donald, you're the one who point
- 37:24Speaker 1: out there so obviously meant to be Cox and Jordan,
- 37:27Speaker 1: and I really see that now more than ever.
- 37:29Speaker 3: Like it's like, oh, even when he stands next to
- 37:31Speaker 3: Johnny C, even when he's standing next to Johnny C,
- 37:35Speaker 3: he's like a I'm not gonna say a younger version,
- 37:39Speaker 3: but he is almost a they almost look alike. Like
- 37:43Speaker 3: this is the direction the show could have went, you
- 37:47Speaker 3: know what I mean, and everybody would have said, oh,
- 37:49Speaker 3: I see where they're going. I'm gonna be honest with you.
- 37:52Speaker 3: I think my character is way too distracting. I think
- 37:56Speaker 3: there are so many other stories they could have done
- 37:58Speaker 3: other than me missing JD. Then sorry Turk missing JD.
- 38:02Speaker 3: I feel like this is something that we did before
- 38:05Speaker 3: where he goes to Disneyland, and you know, it just
- 38:09Speaker 3: seems I mean, I get it. Everything it's supposed to
- 38:11Speaker 3: be poetry. It all has to rhyme and shit like that.
- 38:13Speaker 3: But that's a question.
- 38:17Speaker 2: Joelle. Please, do you guys think the.
- 38:19Speaker 4: Show would be better if Drew was the lead character
- 38:21Speaker 4: and we were following his journey.
- 38:22Speaker 2: Yes, that's a good question. I think, Yes, I do, Actually, yes,
- 38:26Speaker 2: I do.
- 38:26Speaker 1: I think that I think this is this is not
- 38:30Speaker 1: meant to.
- 38:30Speaker 3: Be Conscious's no disrespect to Carrie, no disrespect to her character.
- 38:34Speaker 1: No disrespect to Carrie. We've said a thousand times that
- 38:37Speaker 1: Carrie is a phenomenal actress, and I do take full
- 38:40Speaker 1: credit for discovering her. Okay, No, she's an extraordinary actress
- 38:45Speaker 1: and so adorable and beautiful and a sweetheart of a
- 38:48Speaker 1: human being. I wonder if we were asking too much
- 38:51Speaker 1: of the audience. Not only were we switching the voiceover,
- 38:55Speaker 1: but we were switching to the female perspective. I wonder
- 38:58Speaker 1: if it would have been easier for them to invest
- 39:01Speaker 1: again in a young male intern.
- 39:04Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 39:04Speaker 3: I don't think. I don't think it has to do
- 39:06Speaker 3: with gender. I just don't think. I just think the
- 39:08Speaker 3: character is the same character all over again.
- 39:11Speaker 1: And all right, that's better said. You're right, it isn't
- 39:15Speaker 1: just it's not perhaps it's not gender. It's it's going
- 39:18Speaker 1: for the exact wide eyed, goofy person as opposed to
- 39:22Speaker 1: trying a different angle. I also think that Drew just
- 39:26Speaker 1: is stealing the show. To be honest, I think that
- 39:28Speaker 1: he's the most grounded, the most real. I mean, it's
- 39:32Speaker 1: a great lesson for actors, new actors out there. I mean,
- 39:35Speaker 1: watch the difference between what we're all doing because we've
- 39:39Speaker 1: leaned into all the jokes. And look at what Michael
- 39:42Speaker 1: Mosley's doing. He's in a broad comedy, but he's playing
- 39:45Speaker 1: it all straight and it really makes a difference. And
- 39:49Speaker 1: that's what we used to do before we leaned into
- 39:52Speaker 1: the turn on all these jokes. Now, granted, some of
- 39:55Speaker 1: the script is doesn't help when Turk's longing to see
- 39:58Speaker 1: JD's cock.
- 40:03Speaker 4: Yeah, I just think Drew, like returning with somebody who
- 40:06Speaker 4: was like I'm not sure I can do this and
- 40:07Speaker 4: I already failed once is so much more compelling. Then
- 40:12Speaker 4: I'm really excited to become a doctor. It's hard, which
- 40:17Speaker 4: is sort of what Lucy's storyline is so far, Like
- 40:20Speaker 4: I don't want That's what it started out. What the
- 40:22Speaker 4: issue is where JD when he starts is like I
- 40:25Speaker 4: really want to be a doctor. Oh my gosh, I'm
- 40:27Speaker 4: going to have to confront a lot of difficulties. But
- 40:30Speaker 4: it's not like, oh, it's hard to be a doctor.
- 40:32Speaker 4: It's emotionally, I'm so vulnerable. Being a doctor is going
- 40:36Speaker 4: to challenge that aspect of me. But we don't really
- 40:38Speaker 4: see that so much with Lucy, and so yeah, I
- 40:40Speaker 4: don't know. I'm very invested in Drew's character.
- 40:42Speaker 1: We all so we were interns. These are med students,
- 40:45Speaker 1: And that woman who spoke about the difference last week
- 40:49Speaker 1: really put that in my head because yet again there's
- 40:51Speaker 1: a scene where Lucy's being asked to start an IV
- 40:54Speaker 1: in this episode, and we learned that a med student
- 40:58Speaker 1: would never be doing that on a patient. So you know,
- 41:03Speaker 1: there's also this difference the fact that we were we
- 41:05Speaker 1: were interns, we were further along in our in our process.
- 41:09Speaker 3: We were comparable at being we were capable, i should say,
- 41:14Speaker 3: at being in a hospital and working around people who
- 41:17Speaker 3: were in need.
- 41:18Speaker 1: Of We were at the point in the in the
- 41:20Speaker 1: journey where you're actually interacting with people.
- 41:22Speaker 3: You can do this. Now, you're you're allowed.
- 41:26Speaker 1: All right, Cole, this is what you were talking about earlier.
- 41:28Speaker 1: He's going to go leave to hang out with a
- 41:30Speaker 1: glaucoma patient because the guy clearly has legal weed. This
- 41:36Speaker 1: is long before weed was as legal as it is
- 41:38Speaker 1: now in California.
- 41:39Speaker 3: But or in any weed is legal in New York.
- 41:42Speaker 1: Bro I know, I'm just saying it's it's such a
- 41:45Speaker 1: different era that they had to clearly stipulate that it
- 41:48Speaker 1: was government weed for a glaucoma patient. And they're going
- 41:52Speaker 1: to watch Benson, which for a lot of people, I'm
- 41:55Speaker 1: sure they have no knowledge of what Benson is. But
- 41:58Speaker 1: Donald and I are of the era where we watched Benson.
- 42:01Speaker 7: That that that Robert Benson was that that that that.
- 42:12Speaker 1: He was the right hand man for it to the governor,
- 42:15Speaker 1: to the governor, and uh, the governor was kind of
- 42:20Speaker 1: a goofy guy.
- 42:21Speaker 3: Right governor. I forgot there was some dumb ass and
- 42:25Speaker 3: Benson was the one who was really running the ship.
- 42:28Speaker 3: Got it wasn't just running the he wasn't just running
- 42:30Speaker 3: helping run the freaking whatever the state was. He was
- 42:34Speaker 3: also helping run the house, like the White House and
- 42:37Speaker 3: stuff like, I mean.
- 42:38Speaker 2: Whatever, the governor's mansion.
- 42:40Speaker 3: The governor's mansion. And that's where that joke comes from. Motherfucker.
- 42:44Speaker 3: I ain't Benson. I ain't here to solve everybody's problems and.
- 42:48Speaker 1: Ship and whose joke is that that's you.
- 42:51Speaker 3: No, that's like I think it's like a Martin Lawrence.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Or all I know is that when Donald and I
- 42:55Speaker 1: checked into our loft that we rented that we've told
- 42:58Speaker 1: you about in what what was probably two thousand, the
- 43:02Speaker 1: summer of two thousand, Donald.
- 43:04Speaker 3: Two thousand and one or two.
- 43:06Speaker 1: There were two rooms and one was way better than
- 43:09Speaker 1: the other. And Donald, well, you got there first, so
- 43:12Speaker 1: you got Donald Jack did Donald Jack didn't. He's like,
- 43:15Speaker 1: I'm not fucking standing in that room. I'm not Benson.
- 43:18Speaker 3: So I slept. I slept in the hallway.
- 43:20Speaker 1: Back outside my room, outside of his room, because the
- 43:25Speaker 1: ship was so fucking it was so rustic.
- 43:28Speaker 2: I don't know if that's the word. It was, so
- 43:30Speaker 2: it's not.
- 43:31Speaker 3: Where it was like that ship was like straight.
- 43:33Speaker 1: First of all, it was an artist loft and the room.
- 43:36Speaker 1: The place was giant's probably three thousand square feet. It
- 43:38Speaker 1: was huge, but it hadn't been redone.
- 43:41Speaker 3: It hadn't been like I've tried to sleep in there
- 43:44Speaker 3: one night and it was the stuffiest room.
- 43:47Speaker 2: And dryer were in there too.
- 43:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I was like, get stuff fuck out of here.
- 43:53Speaker 1: So anyway, outside the room that I had chosen. There
- 43:56Speaker 1: was like a you know, a day bed that was nice.
- 43:59Speaker 1: It was like big and so Donald just slept there.
- 44:02Speaker 3: I was like, fuck this.
- 44:03Speaker 2: It was so funny though.
- 44:05Speaker 3: I'll never forget that summer. Yeah, it's a great summer.
- 44:08Speaker 3: That's one of my favorite summers of all time.
- 44:11Speaker 1: So Turk is finally teaching. I guess he got JD's
- 44:14Speaker 1: classroom because he's teaching, and there's a mix up with
- 44:19Speaker 1: Lucy's slides. She she mixed up ones from a bachelorette.
- 44:24Speaker 3: Her sister's bachelorette party were.
- 44:27Speaker 1: She really goes nuts. She really get that party got wow.
- 44:30Speaker 1: That was like that was like an above ground pool party.
- 44:34Speaker 3: I hate to tell you this, man, but bachelorette parties,
- 44:36Speaker 3: depending on who the bachelorette is, really the things go crazy.
- 44:41Speaker 3: They get as crazy as bachelor parties. Man. Anything I
- 44:43Speaker 3: say crazy, I mean sex, yes, and and.
- 44:49Speaker 4: At least involvement potentially, Yeah, like freaking people lose their minds.
- 44:54Speaker 3: Yo, dude, I don't know what it is about. It's
- 44:56Speaker 3: my last night and then everybody else is like, well,
- 44:59Speaker 3: then it's my last night too.
- 45:01Speaker 1: You know, you hear the stereotype of men's bachelor parties
- 45:04Speaker 1: getting crazy, and there's like women's are just like that too,
- 45:07Speaker 1: and there's escorts or strippers. But I wonder what the
- 45:12Speaker 1: real percentage of.
- 45:14Speaker 3: As Shanning Tatum. You could ask Shanning Tatum with the
- 45:16Speaker 3: real he made a freaking fortune off of Magic Mike
- 45:21Speaker 3: a fortune.
- 45:22Speaker 1: I've never seen those movies. Does he does he Works?
- 45:24Speaker 3: I've never seen. I've never seen one of those movies.
- 45:28Speaker 3: But it's about what are we doing.
- 45:30Speaker 5: With our lives?
- 45:30Speaker 4: These are classic American cinema.
- 45:33Speaker 3: See magic like it's let's watch Magic mic.
- 45:36Speaker 1: Maybe this is now going to be a Magic Mike
- 45:40Speaker 1: Rewatch podcast, a.
- 45:42Speaker 3: Magic like rewatch. Joe ellis happiest.
- 45:46Speaker 5: I would love are hitting me?
- 45:52Speaker 1: What percentage do you think of bacheloretts hook up on
- 45:59Speaker 1: their bachelor rep party weekend?
- 46:02Speaker 3: That's probably the same percentage, maybe even more than men.
- 46:05Speaker 1: Don't they called a hen do a hen do in London?
- 46:08Speaker 4: Look up with someone like fifteen maybe maybe less ten
- 46:11Speaker 4: to five.
- 46:12Speaker 3: No, I say it's I say it's the exact opposite.
- 46:15Speaker 3: I say it's more than men, really more than I
- 46:20Speaker 3: think it's five percent more than men.
- 46:21Speaker 4: That's like when we have the marriage counselorn and she
- 46:24Speaker 4: said women cheat more than men. I said, what is
- 46:26Speaker 4: happening my perception of the world crazy.
- 46:28Speaker 2: She knows, she knows. Well.
- 46:31Speaker 1: All I know is if I ever get married, I
- 46:33Speaker 1: hope that the bachelorette party slash hen do is something
- 46:36Speaker 1: very tame. Like in Napa we went for a girl's weekend.
- 46:40Speaker 3: Yeah, that's where that should be happening. We went for
- 46:42Speaker 3: a girls' weekend.
- 46:44Speaker 2: No want.
- 46:45Speaker 4: I used to live in Boystown in Chicago, and so
- 46:47Speaker 4: we would see just troves of bridal parties, like getting drunk,
- 46:52Speaker 4: and then they would wind up like groping the dudes.
- 46:54Speaker 4: The dudes are like, I'm in Boystown, I'm not here
- 46:57Speaker 4: for you. Leave me all loa, Like it's safe. It's
- 47:01Speaker 4: not cheating because you're gay. It's like it's still a
- 47:02Speaker 4: human you get just put your hands on what are
- 47:04Speaker 4: we doing?
- 47:05Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 47:05Speaker 3: I can't just put my penis in your mouth and
- 47:07Speaker 3: me be gay and say it's not cheating. That's the
- 47:10Speaker 3: fuck out.
- 47:11Speaker 4: Do you think that's what she was doing, because they
- 47:13Speaker 4: were like there was a time where she's like, what
- 47:16Speaker 4: are you doing?
- 47:16Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 47:17Speaker 5: I mean it rained with nine dollars. This is insanely she.
- 47:20Speaker 1: Was She was I imploied, I inferred that she was
- 47:23Speaker 1: blowing him.
- 47:24Speaker 3: That's what I thought. Yikes.
- 47:28Speaker 1: And then and then Cocks put that picture on the
- 47:30Speaker 1: wall and then she says, I made it rain.
- 47:36Speaker 2: Move on.
- 47:40Speaker 5: Nine dollars? Is not making it rains?
- 47:42Speaker 3: Yeah, that's that's That's.
- 47:44Speaker 1: What qualifies is making it and rain. When you make
- 47:47Speaker 1: it rain common?
- 47:49Speaker 2: Is it single? Is it singles?
- 47:52Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 47:52Speaker 5: It can be usually.
- 47:54Speaker 3: I mean you can make it rain with hundreds. It
- 47:55Speaker 3: just has to be a bunch of dollars.
- 47:57Speaker 1: Wait, but does that makes it rain with hundreds?
- 48:00Speaker 3: Rappers?
- 48:01Speaker 2: Rappers? Rappers?
- 48:05Speaker 3: I mean you make it rain with them? If you
- 48:06Speaker 3: what if you took out, like, you know, one hundred
- 48:09Speaker 3: and five dollar bills and made it rain, people would
- 48:12Speaker 3: be like, oh ship, this motherfucker made it rain. That's donald.
- 48:15Speaker 2: Have you ever made it ring? Uh?
- 48:17Speaker 3: In a Gavin De Grau video directed by me I
- 48:21Speaker 3: invented making it rain and a Gavin De Grau video
- 48:25Speaker 3: Make the Zach, you can check the stats. You could
- 48:29Speaker 3: check the stats before that video.
- 48:31Speaker 2: I don't ring mother girl.
- 48:36Speaker 1: We were by the way, this is now a time
- 48:39Speaker 1: when after this episode you should watch on YouTube the
- 48:41Speaker 1: Gavin de Graw video for Chariot that I directed where
- 48:44Speaker 1: you will see Donald Faison make it Rain.
- 48:47Speaker 2: Wow, great song too, Wow mm hmm.
- 48:53Speaker 3: Jamie King, Jamie.
- 48:54Speaker 1: King is the love interest. Remember that shoot, Donald, That
- 48:58Speaker 1: was a crazy shoot.
- 48:59Speaker 3: That was one of the open things I had ever
- 49:01Speaker 3: seen you do at that point. It was at that
- 49:05Speaker 3: point I had never seen you. I mean, well, I
- 49:08Speaker 3: take it back, you did. You did direct that episode,
- 49:11Speaker 3: but this was something that you had. You were completely
- 49:14Speaker 3: like on your own and all you had was Cabot.
- 49:16Speaker 3: Really that's it, and me and then everybody else. I
- 49:20Speaker 3: didn't know who the fuck they were. There wasn't the
- 49:22Speaker 3: normal crew and everything. At least with Scrubs when you
- 49:25Speaker 3: directed the first that first episode, at least you had
- 49:28Speaker 3: the crew had your back, the cast had your back.
- 49:30Speaker 3: You knew everyone, and we were trying to make a
- 49:33Speaker 3: great show. At this point, it was like, Doug, I'm
- 49:36Speaker 3: trying to make the best video for you, Gavin, and
- 49:40Speaker 3: I don't know any of these people, and the set
- 49:43Speaker 3: is not working the way it's supposed to.
- 49:45Speaker 2: Wasn't. It was a nightmare.
- 49:47Speaker 1: It was one of the scariest shoots I've ever been
- 49:48Speaker 1: on because I had designed this whole video as a
- 49:50Speaker 1: Wanner without the camera cutting. It was a very elaborate
- 49:53Speaker 1: moving set and we spent a lot of money on
- 49:58Speaker 1: the set.
- 49:59Speaker 3: Days when MTV would let you do that too.
- 50:01Speaker 1: That was back in the day when there were still
- 50:03Speaker 1: big budgets for videos, and we had about one hundred extras.
- 50:06Speaker 1: We needed a full day of rehearsal and we just
- 50:07Speaker 1: didn't have it, and so we tried to do them
- 50:09Speaker 1: one day. I remember it was like six pm and
- 50:11Speaker 1: we hadn't shot anything, which is called in director lingo
- 50:16Speaker 1: a fucking nightmare. But then then I pivoted, because you
- 50:21Speaker 1: have to pivot as a filmmaker when things aren't working,
- 50:24Speaker 1: and I said, this is no longer a Wunner, and
- 50:26Speaker 1: guess what we're gonna We're gonna do it in pieces,
- 50:29Speaker 1: and in between we're going to cut some really beautiful
- 50:31Speaker 1: close up shots of very handsome Gavin de Graux singing
- 50:34Speaker 1: into the lens. And so it'll be a series of
- 50:37Speaker 1: winners that are stitched together with a shot of Gavin
- 50:41Speaker 1: singing the lens. And by the way it was, it
- 50:43Speaker 1: ended up being a blessing in disguise because everybody wanted
- 50:47Speaker 1: to see him singing in close up, whereas the video
- 50:49Speaker 1: didn't have that, but uh, it was crazy.
- 50:53Speaker 2: It was crazy.
- 50:53Speaker 3: Well, the video show told the story of you know,
- 50:58Speaker 3: artist and how they get to the stage, you know
- 51:01Speaker 3: what I mean, work, Yeah, how they get from the
- 51:03Speaker 3: beginning of the beginning of it all to the stage finally,
- 51:07Speaker 3: and how there's always that young someone in your life
- 51:12Speaker 3: to distract you along the way. And sometimes it's money,
- 51:16Speaker 3: sometimes it's Jamie King. Jamie King. That's right.
- 51:20Speaker 1: If we had a day of rehearsal, which would have
- 51:22Speaker 1: been so expensive, but I could have really done the
- 51:25Speaker 1: whole thing as a wanner, woun't have been cool. But anyway,
- 51:27Speaker 1: if you're curious, check out the video. All right, we'll
- 51:29Speaker 1: take a break and we'll be right back. This this
- 51:31Speaker 1: particular ad right here is one of the best we've
- 51:34Speaker 1: ever done.
- 51:34Speaker 3: Oh man, I hope it's something for like if you
- 51:38Speaker 3: were a loved one has mesothelio and we're.
- 51:53Speaker 2: You know, I watched.
- 51:54Speaker 1: I stopped watching as much CNN as I was watching
- 51:56Speaker 1: because it's so bad for me. But I realized when
- 51:57Speaker 1: I was watching it that all the ads were aimed
- 51:59Speaker 1: at senior So I was I was getting targeted by
- 52:02Speaker 1: all these senior citizen ads. I never see I never
- 52:05Speaker 1: see young fun ads like like our I don't watch
- 52:08Speaker 1: sports obviously, which is usually where our T mobile stuff airs,
- 52:11Speaker 1: so I never even see like young fun ads. I
- 52:15Speaker 1: just see ads aimed at seniors.
- 52:17Speaker 3: I didn't realize that. I didn't realize that a lot
- 52:19Speaker 3: of old people stay up late too. I would think
- 52:22Speaker 3: they would go to bed early, because late night is
- 52:25Speaker 3: when they start trying to sell you all of that
- 52:26Speaker 3: old old ship.
- 52:28Speaker 1: You know, CNN is constantly trying to sell me something
- 52:31Speaker 1: that's like, I shouldn't clean my gutters because it's too
- 52:34Speaker 1: dangerous for me to clean my guns, and I'm gonna,
- 52:38Speaker 1: I'm gonna gonna, I'm gonna get hurt. I mean, I know,
- 52:41Speaker 1: no joke. I know people do get a lot of
- 52:43Speaker 1: people get hurt cleaning their gutters, but I am not.
- 52:46Speaker 1: I don't think the target demo for that, for that campaign.
- 52:50Speaker 1: But I can't tell you how many times I've seen
- 52:51Speaker 1: the change to this product so you don't have to
- 52:54Speaker 1: clean your gutters.
- 52:54Speaker 3: Thing Life Alert Commercial Life Alert. It still exists.
- 53:00Speaker 1: That they got a new they got a new lady
- 53:02Speaker 1: who fell and can't get up.
- 53:03Speaker 3: I can't get up.
- 53:04Speaker 2: Yeah, they retired.
- 53:07Speaker 3: She fell and didn't get up.
- 53:09Speaker 2: She never did get out. She never never got she
- 53:11Speaker 2: never did get out, she never did get up.
- 53:24Speaker 1: All right here In more Bad Scrubs episodes, Cole is
- 53:28Speaker 1: convinced that there's rankings, that's all bullshit. He's tricked by
- 53:33Speaker 1: Cocks and Drew and what about this?
- 53:36Speaker 2: This was so stupid.
- 53:37Speaker 1: Chop pants, So Turk wears sweatpants or sorry, Scrubs, let's
- 53:43Speaker 1: say chop on them because he loves pork chops so much.
- 53:48Speaker 1: Then Denise says, look, there's JD and like like the
- 53:53Speaker 1: worst sitcome ever. Turk goes, where did he wear his
- 53:56Speaker 1: pork chop pants?
- 53:58Speaker 3: It's not great.
- 54:01Speaker 1: Then Elliott says, chillax my brother, which made me cringe a.
- 54:04Speaker 3: Bit even more. It made me cringe more than freaking
- 54:09Speaker 3: the Zion thing because we we as the old Cruise,
- 54:12Speaker 3: should know better.
- 54:13Speaker 1: By the way, there's three moments in this episode where
- 54:16Speaker 1: white people say things that are very cringey, and the
- 54:20Speaker 1: second was chillax my brother. And then when Turkey is
- 54:25Speaker 1: auditioning new friends, Kelso says that he wants a black
- 54:28Speaker 1: friend to help him out with the sisters and so
- 54:31Speaker 1: he can quote get my swirl on.
- 54:34Speaker 3: I'm all about the swirl.
- 54:36Speaker 2: Okay, what does that mean? Swirrel? I don't even know.
- 54:39Speaker 3: It's like when you mix chocolate and vanilla and you swirl.
- 54:42Speaker 1: Oh yeah, well then you're a.
- 54:44Speaker 3: Snailor that's literally the name of the fucking ice cream swirl,
- 54:48Speaker 3: chocolate and vanilla swirl.
- 54:50Speaker 1: I didn't know what get my swirl on means. I
- 54:52Speaker 1: just knew that didn't sound right coming out again.
- 54:54Speaker 3: It means like when you dip you're in some uh
- 55:00Speaker 3: it would be swirling, got it or anything? That's not
- 55:04Speaker 3: win the more you know, but it has to be sex.
- 55:09Speaker 3: It's not dating, it's sex swirling.
- 55:12Speaker 2: It's only se yes.
- 55:13Speaker 1: So if I not a date with an African American woman,
- 55:16Speaker 1: I'm not.
- 55:16Speaker 3: That is not swirling. Y'all went out on a date.
- 55:19Speaker 3: It's only sex.
- 55:20Speaker 1: When we when we copulate mix, I see when we
- 55:26Speaker 1: become when our bodies swirl together.
- 55:30Speaker 3: Sure have a swirl. Now, Look, if you don't like
- 55:34Speaker 3: to swirl, you don't like to swirl, that's you. Everybody
- 55:36Speaker 3: each their own. I'm just gonna say this for everybody
- 55:39Speaker 3: out there, it's okay to swirl. If you do swirl. Yeah,
- 55:45Speaker 3: love has no color.
- 55:47Speaker 1: Right, And this is coming from someone who who really
- 55:50Speaker 1: has committed his entire life to air.
- 55:54Speaker 3: That's not true. I date. I am the rainbow fucking kind.
- 55:56Speaker 3: I have dated pretty well.
- 55:57Speaker 2: Not I have every I have dated rainbow.
- 56:04Speaker 1: If you haven't had sex with a man, I don't think.
- 56:06Speaker 3: Right, that's what I'm saying. I said, not the gay
- 56:08Speaker 3: kind of rainbow yet. Yes, yes, right, thank you.
- 56:12Speaker 1: But you're an equal opportunity.
- 56:14Speaker 3: Absolutely, And whoever floats my boat, my wife, who that is?
- 56:20Speaker 3: Who it is right now? Yeah, is the one that
- 56:23Speaker 3: has me.
- 56:24Speaker 1: Do you ever ask you wife if you're trying to
- 56:26Speaker 1: if you're trying to propose intercourse with your with your wife, casey,
- 56:30Speaker 1: have you ever said, do you want to swirl?
- 56:32Speaker 3: No? I say, do you want some black dick?
- 56:42Speaker 4: You're way too excited about that.
- 56:46Speaker 2: The man loves his wife.
- 56:47Speaker 1: Listen, the man may may every couple have a love
- 56:51Speaker 1: relationship so strong.
- 56:53Speaker 2: He's in love with this.
- 56:54Speaker 3: I want to tell you something right now. We fight sometimes, yes,
- 56:57Speaker 3: and it's horrible, and we say some horrible things to
- 57:01Speaker 3: each other, but there is no person on this planet
- 57:05Speaker 3: that I would want to spend the rest of my
- 57:09Speaker 3: life with other than her. There is not one person
- 57:15Speaker 3: she has. I don't know what it is about her,
- 57:20Speaker 3: but I really enjoy the life that we have created together.
- 57:25Speaker 2: That's amazing.
- 57:25Speaker 3: I don't want to sacrifice that or anything.
- 57:28Speaker 1: How do you make up when you've had a bad fight?
- 57:30Speaker 1: Are you the first person to say I'm sorry?
- 57:32Speaker 3: They want to see my black dick? No, I don't.
- 57:40Speaker 1: I think I think what happened was I think what happened?
- 57:44Speaker 1: You know, I say that, I think what was I
- 57:46Speaker 1: think what happened is you got vulnerable and then you
- 57:49Speaker 1: felt like you had to pull up your masculinity.
- 57:52Speaker 3: Maybe maybe maybe there was a bit of that in there,
- 57:54Speaker 3: But that's that's that's that's that. That means nothing to
- 57:58Speaker 3: the fact that you don't think I'd.
- 57:59Speaker 1: Be saying, I'm sure you do jokingly, but I'm curious
- 58:02Speaker 1: for a real answer. When you guys have a bad fight,
- 58:05Speaker 1: is it she that normally tries to make amends?
- 58:07Speaker 2: Or do you do it?
- 58:09Speaker 3: We don't make amends. We just forget about it and
- 58:12Speaker 3: move on. That's what.
- 58:13Speaker 1: Oh, that seems healthy. Let me write that down.
- 58:15Speaker 3: So it's just marriage, that's about. That's what marriage is.
- 58:19Speaker 3: Marriage is this. I hate you? I hate you too.
- 58:23Speaker 3: I'll talk to you later.
- 58:25Speaker 1: Wow, I feel like it might be good to like
- 58:29Speaker 1: occasionally talk it out and be like, hey about the
- 58:31Speaker 1: other night. I'm sorry, I was feeling this and you
- 58:35Speaker 1: were feeling that, and I I, you don't ever do that.
- 58:38Speaker 3: Yeah, but that's like, you know, that's that's the boring
- 58:43Speaker 3: part of marriage making up. But that's like fucking.
- 58:47Speaker 2: I'm asking if that happens.
- 58:49Speaker 3: Yeah, that does happen, But that's not the fun part.
- 58:52Speaker 3: The fun part isn't the I fucked up my bead.
- 58:56Speaker 3: That's there's no even in the argument. The argument's the
- 58:59Speaker 3: beat part, like the way that we I don't know, like, yeah,
- 59:06Speaker 3: sure we'll have the talk of she's coming home? Is
- 59:11Speaker 3: that her?
- 59:11Speaker 6: No?
- 59:13Speaker 3: Yes, it is the way that we have. Let's ask her. Shit,
- 59:17Speaker 3: Ka hit the song down, Casey, come down here. I
- 59:23Speaker 3: don't know nothing about raising these fools, so tell me
- 59:26Speaker 3: what to do. Don't know nothing about raising these kids.
- 59:30Speaker 3: And that's what it is.
- 59:34Speaker 2: Hi. We just played your song. Hi guys, Hi, Hi Casey.
- 59:37Speaker 3: Were you were y'all just thinking about me and played
- 59:40Speaker 3: it for no.
- 59:41Speaker 1: Well, Donald, we were talking about when couples argue and
- 59:45Speaker 1: then it gets bad, and then we were asking Donald
- 59:48Speaker 1: how like whether he or you is the first person
- 59:52Speaker 1: after it's calmed down and all the emotions out to
- 59:55Speaker 1: be like, hey, sorry about da da da da da
- 59:58Speaker 1: da da, And Donald kind of implied that y'all just
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: kind of move on, don't talk about it.
- 1:00:02Speaker 8: Oh no, No, I'm trying to communicate throughout the entire thing,
- 1:00:12Speaker 8: and he doesn't like to communicate his way up.
- 1:00:15Speaker 9: And he also doesn't like to say he's sorry and
- 1:00:17Speaker 9: admit when he's wrong. So the way that I know
- 1:00:22Speaker 9: when he knows he's wrong and he's trying to say
- 1:00:24Speaker 9: sorry is usually because he pulls it out and was like.
- 1:00:27Speaker 5: No, he told us that.
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: We were like, no, he pulls his penis out.
- 1:00:34Speaker 6: Did you tell them you pull your penis out?
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: Yeah, but we thought he was joking. We've done it.
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: Was joking.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: Oh no, that's his way of making up with him.
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: He pulls up penis.
- 1:00:43Speaker 10: He doesn't know how to say sorry, so he'll just
- 1:00:45Speaker 10: be like he'll he'll he'll ride it out for like
- 1:00:48Speaker 10: three or four days, and then finally he'll be like does.
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: This look Does this look good to you?
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: But it sounds like you? Then forgive him.
- 1:01:01Speaker 10: You guys never have the like guy you know what,
- 1:01:05Speaker 10: because I've already said and voiced everything in my I've
- 1:01:10Speaker 10: communicated everything, I've already talked it out, I've already expressed
- 1:01:14Speaker 10: every But don't.
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: You him, don't you want wouldn't you prefer him to
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: be like, hey, I'm really sorry, I fucked up because
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: of X y Z.
- 1:01:23Speaker 9: I would prefer him to do a lot of things,
- 1:01:25Speaker 9: But that's not who I'm married, and he's I know
- 1:01:31Speaker 9: him better than the back of my hand, and this
- 1:01:33Speaker 9: is how he is. And I will say once that
- 1:01:37Speaker 9: that contact has been made or that's out of the way,
- 1:01:42Speaker 9: then he's I'm sorry, you know, I just tuck like
- 1:01:45Speaker 9: that because of this, this, this, And I'm like, well,
- 1:01:48Speaker 9: just say that ship you could have saved, said that
- 1:01:49Speaker 9: ship three days ago.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: Right, just so much? Wow, Really, Casey you are you're
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: pretty pretty. You're a pretty great wife here Ca.
- 1:02:01Speaker 9: Yeah, you guys have to remember we've been together how long?
- 1:02:05Speaker 9: Since two thousand and six? I mean, this is a
- 1:02:08Speaker 9: long time. I don't have I'm you know what, I
- 1:02:10Speaker 9: don't have time to sit. I'm not deep, I'm not sensitive,
- 1:02:15Speaker 9: So it's kind of like that's but.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: You also are a very strong personality, and I wonder
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: that it sounds like you're saying you do, but when
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: the fight's going on, or you're like, do you want
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: to say, like this is not how we should be communicating.
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: You know, I do I say all those things.
- 1:02:31Speaker 6: I mean I do. He knows.
- 1:02:32Speaker 9: I mean, at least I think I say this is
- 1:02:35Speaker 9: not healthy, this is not like even just recently, we
- 1:02:38Speaker 9: had an argument and it all stemmed from like our
- 1:02:42Speaker 9: kids basketball, and I was like, this basketball is one
- 1:02:46Speaker 9: of is a big distractor in our happiness as a family.
- 1:02:51Speaker 6: As a whole. I was like, we need to dial
- 1:02:53Speaker 6: it back.
- 1:02:53Speaker 9: And you know, we fight and it goes and then
- 1:02:56Speaker 9: days later we're like, you know, we've seen penis and
- 1:03:01Speaker 9: balls and everything. Then it's like, yeah, I don't think
- 1:03:05Speaker 9: we need to do this tonight and go to practice
- 1:03:07Speaker 9: and this, and I think we need to scale it back.
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, I see, so there's a rhythm to it.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: There's so you know, even when it's Donald, I mean,
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: you know, I don't have a lot of experience of
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: Donald ever going ever, Hey, I want to reach out.
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: This is awkward and uncomfortable, but I was out of
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: line and I'm sorry. I don't have any experience of that.
- 1:03:29Speaker 9: No, I mean it, and not to be arrogant, but
- 1:03:32Speaker 9: I honestly believe there's times that y'all's friendship probably would
- 1:03:37Speaker 9: have never lasted this long had I not been the Christ.
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: It's true.
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: It's true because he doesn't. Ever, he's never the one
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: to say that, you've been the one to be like,
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: y'all need to talk.
- 1:03:49Speaker 9: Yeah, And that's what I told him the other day
- 1:03:51Speaker 9: when we were talking about something else. I was like,
- 1:03:53Speaker 9: I have no problem going with my tail between my lege.
- 1:03:56Speaker 9: I don't get embarrassed. I have no shame to be
- 1:03:59Speaker 9: the one that says this fire or even not even
- 1:04:03Speaker 9: to my husband, like even if it's a third party,
- 1:04:05Speaker 9: I have no problem to be like, guys, sorry, I
- 1:04:07Speaker 9: blew this out of proportion. I'm the reason this, this
- 1:04:09Speaker 9: whole fight happened, Like, let's get past this for the kids.
- 1:04:13Speaker 6: Like it's my fault.
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: I sometimes I'll take the blame just so we.
- 1:04:17Speaker 9: Can all communicate about it. And which is not healthy, Probably.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: No, because doesn't that build resentment because after a while
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: you're like, I always fucking am the one who ends
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: the fight. I'm always the one who puts my tail.
- 1:04:28Speaker 5: Between my legs, but I also just like it.
- 1:04:30Speaker 6: But everyone's happy, right.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: But during those three days where there's tension and you're
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: not talking, do you ever want to be like, hey,
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: this is so stupid. Can we can we can we
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: just talk this out? Like I don't want to be
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: in silent treatment mode sometimes.
- 1:04:43Speaker 9: But then sometimes I'm like whatever, good luck. You know,
- 1:04:48Speaker 9: there's times that we're Donald's like I want to divorce.
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: I'm like, all right, I want a divorce too. Yeah,
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: h no, I hate you. I want a divorce. That's
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: let's do it. But that's what I say now.
- 1:05:04Speaker 9: But there was a time, say a year ago, when
- 1:05:06Speaker 9: you were like, let's get a divorce, and.
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: I'm like, I'm gonna I'm going to divorce you.
- 1:05:09Speaker 9: I'm like, good luck, good luck doing all manual labor
- 1:05:13Speaker 9: to get to the point where you've got to divorce me, because.
- 1:05:15Speaker 8: I'm the one that's gonna have to.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: Call you Donald Donald baked down, trying.
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: To deal with people. This is what I do.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: Donald trying to call a lawyer and organize a call
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: with the lawyer.
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: I can't picture it.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: Yeah, So he'd be like, babe, babe, babe, babe, can
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: you call a lawyer for me, but.
- 1:05:38Speaker 9: Also guys, I have to say and and I'm very
- 1:05:41Speaker 9: grateful for this. We've never had a fight, h that
- 1:05:46Speaker 9: wasn't over stupid ship. Like We've never had like some
- 1:05:49Speaker 9: real crazy marriage doomsday fight.
- 1:05:53Speaker 6: We've at least I don't think so. The fights we
- 1:05:55Speaker 6: have are like stupid ship.
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: Can we give it to a different topic, Casey, One
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: more question for you that came up today. This has
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: nothing to do with your life. You were wondering how
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: what percentage of women at their bachelorette parties are actually
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: hooking up with men? Do you think that it's higher
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: even or less than men less.
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: I've been at least eight or nine, and.
- 1:06:19Speaker 9: I've never experienced anything like that the bachelorette parties.
- 1:06:23Speaker 6: I've gone to.
- 1:06:23Speaker 5: Even with the dudes.
- 1:06:25Speaker 9: They're doing the dances and all that stuff, it's more.
- 1:06:28Speaker 5: Of the cringe, like all the girls are in the corner.
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: Like, oh god, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on.
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: That's Casey's group of people.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: That's case that's your group of friends.
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: That's not that's not at all of a sudden act
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: like hold on now, hold on now, this is a
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: different demographic. I don't trust those it's like a fucking
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: bachelorette party.
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: All right, all right, thank you, Casey, thank you Casey.
- 1:06:57Speaker 9: Yes, I just had a four hour breakfast with God
- 1:07:00Speaker 9: and I'm just everybody now.
- 1:07:06Speaker 5: Seeing her.
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: I love Zach, Zach, Zach, Zach, Zach, I love you, sweetheart.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: He married, Well, he just has to show his penis.
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: You've all you got to do is basically your recipe
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: is ignored for three days and then whip out your penis.
- 1:07:25Speaker 5: I don't want a magical penis, so.
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: You must have a magical penis.
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: That should be.
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: Well.
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: We all doubted you Donald when you said that your
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: penis solves all your marital problems.
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: Wow, let's finish up the newsletters. A lie uh Lucy
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: runs out of underwear and so she wears a bathing
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: suit to work. Turkey is auditioning new friends. The funniest
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: one of all was who says that he's ready to
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: take their relationship to the next level physically, And he.
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: Said, did you say physically? He goes weird five, and
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: then he goes get there, and then he gets there
- 1:08:11Speaker 3: and winks, I'm glad that Todd is still a brown.
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: Yeah, Todd should be in more of the show, by the.
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: Way, I know, right, And look, if we're going to
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: introduce new characters, let's at least bring back some of
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: the old ones for more than just their typical line.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: By the way, Joelle said the show should be told
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: from from Drew's point of view, I think it should
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: be told from Todd's point of view.
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: I want to show that's a dangerous, dangerous show. No, no, no,
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: the fact that Todd is allowed to work at this space.
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: You're right, he's a seasoning. He's a seasoning.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: You don't want to you don't want to las to
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: have a little salts. You don't want all salts.
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: No, all right.
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: Elliott goes home.
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: After talking to patient and Lucy loses faith in her snore.
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: Lucy banged her boyfriend while talking to her dad and
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: said it was the most turned on she's ever been.
- 1:09:05Speaker 11: Lucy a free And then at that moment, right there,
- 1:09:08Speaker 11: I thought to myself, Elliott should be able to relate
- 1:09:13Speaker 11: to this shit because she is.
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: Her freak flag is way more than Lucy's. So when
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: she said that, I expected Elliott to be like, oh, well,
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: there was this one time, you know what I mean?
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: Yes, but yes, I was so confused by the dynamic
- 1:09:31Speaker 4: between these two and like Elliott is classic why and
- 1:09:33Speaker 4: she always is bleeding hert for her students where she's like,
- 1:09:36Speaker 4: I really want them to like me, and I hope.
- 1:09:37Speaker 4: And so it was conflicting because on the one hand,
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: I was like, oh, maybe this is showing a lot
- 1:09:41Speaker 4: of growth in Elliott in that, you know, She's like, no,
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: it's got to be about me. We remember from the
- 1:09:46Speaker 4: original Scrub series, like I want to be a mom.
- 1:09:48Speaker 5: I'm not sure one of be a doctor all in
- 1:09:50Speaker 5: my life?
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: How to take it?
- 1:09:51Speaker 4: Like, so the end results sort of worked for me,
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: but the initial part, like I really think Elliott would
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: understand Lucy in a much more intimate way so quickly.
- 1:10:00Speaker 5: I have so much in common.
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: They're they're the same freaking character pretty much, you know
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: what I mean. It's like they put they put JD
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: and Elliott and smashed them together and made Lucy, you
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: know what I mean, all of them. It's it's it's
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: very clear that that's what they did, and and it
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: would have been. And she is more like Elliott than
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: she is JD. You know what I mean. Her fantasies
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: are Elliott, you know what I mean, but she does
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: fantasize like JD. Did you know. It's it's it's it's
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: very it's it's very upsetting in a lot of ways,
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: because it's like we could have went so many other ways.
- 1:10:37Speaker 3: We could have just made it so that this is
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: a completely different show with completely new characters. But we're
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: trying to recreate the same shit over and over again
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: in every episode though too. It's not like just one episode,
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: it's every episode. So that being said, we should probably
- 1:10:54Speaker 3: get to the letters. Eat these balls, Zach, eat these
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: balls that eat these balls ahead your sound effects machine.
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: Right, Steve Aoki? Who wow?
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: All right, let's go break, and then when we come back,
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: we'll play the Joel Monique is Down to Get Down
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: song because we know it's an audience favorite. This commercial
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: right here changed my life.
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: And we're back.
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: Get the world out all time. Joel Monique is down
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: to get down.
- 1:11:42Speaker 6: No matter what's between your eggs.
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: Tomorrow morning you could be make an egg Joel money
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: is down, get down.
- 1:11:49Speaker 5: Oh yeah, Joel Monique is down to get.
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: And there's the Joel song. Thank you Dan for playing that.
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: All right, Joel, Let's go to letters.
- 1:11:59Speaker 5: All right?
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: You know Okay, everybody ready.
- 1:12:02Speaker 12: Yeah, Hi, My name is Jeff Richmond from Columbia, Maryland,
- 1:12:05Speaker 12: and I'm calling in to talk about how I love
- 1:12:08Speaker 12: the episode my new girl bro. And I'll make this
- 1:12:11Speaker 12: very quick, but there are four reasons why I really
- 1:12:13Speaker 12: liked this episode. I do like that we still get
- 1:12:15Speaker 12: to see the funny but heartfelt, dynamic relationship between JD
- 1:12:19Speaker 12: and Turk. I really do think it's rare in life
- 1:12:20Speaker 12: to have such a close friend, and at the end
- 1:12:22Speaker 12: of the episode, doctor Cox told Turk how rare it
- 1:12:25Speaker 12: was to be able to work with your best friend,
- 1:12:27Speaker 12: and that to me meant a lot, because having friends
- 1:12:29Speaker 12: at work makes the day so much better. The second
- 1:12:32Speaker 12: thing is is that I love that doctor Cox treats
- 1:12:35Speaker 12: Lucy the same way that he treated JD during the
- 1:12:37Speaker 12: entire series. That line about the dumb shadow was extremely
- 1:12:41Speaker 12: funny and it really honors the core of the show
- 1:12:43Speaker 12: and the relationship between JD and doctor Cox, and also
- 1:12:46Speaker 12: how they're able to transfer that relationship to doctor Cox
- 1:12:49Speaker 12: and Lucy as well. Third, how Lucy looks up to
- 1:12:53Speaker 12: doctor Reid. This episode really celebrates strong, powerful and professional
- 1:12:56Speaker 12: women working in a traditionally male dominated field, and I
- 1:13:00Speaker 12: think this entire episode did a great job with this,
- 1:13:02Speaker 12: but specifically, you know, we were able to see the
- 1:13:05Speaker 12: point of view from a young lady looking up to
- 1:13:08Speaker 12: an older female in the same profession with more experience
- 1:13:11Speaker 12: in that industry.
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: And as I rewatched this season, you know, when I
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: watched it.
- 1:13:15Speaker 12: First, I was single with no kids, and now I
- 1:13:17Speaker 12: have two young children and a wife, and I was
- 1:13:20Speaker 12: able to kind of see how my wife was able
- 1:13:22Speaker 12: to make changes in her life and her professional career
- 1:13:25Speaker 12: as we started having children, so I was able to
- 1:13:27Speaker 12: relate to that a lot. And then finally, I think
- 1:13:30Speaker 12: one of the best gags of the entire show, that's right,
- 1:13:33Speaker 12: I said it when at the very end Cole says
- 1:13:36Speaker 12: you suck Zimmerman.
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: I think that whole joke about there being class.
- 1:13:40Speaker 12: Rankings and ended up being the ranks based on their
- 1:13:43Speaker 12: alphabetical last name, and his last name was double A Aaronson, And.
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: That bit right there, I think is extremely funny. And
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: thank you. Those are my quick tidbits. Thank you, Jeff.
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: Jeff.
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: Okay, Jeff, I like you, and you sound like a
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: nice man. I just don't agree with you.
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: There you go. But you know, he made some good points.
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, but there are points about the old show
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: though the point all of the points are talking about
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: how this show reminds him of the old show.
- 1:14:18Speaker 5: You can still see her longing for the original.
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: But I think I think Joelle like asked someone in
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: her building who's a nice person to watch episode six
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: and be like, do to be a favorite. We can't
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: get anyone to say, Jeff, Jeff, Jeff, remember when I
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: watched Jeff, Remember when I watched your cat.
- 1:14:36Speaker 4: Jeff, Jeff did write it about another episode and I said, Hey,
- 1:14:40Speaker 4: would you like to say something nice abou episode six?
- 1:14:41Speaker 4: And he's so kindly sat in this voicemail. So we
- 1:14:44Speaker 4: appreciate you, Jeff.
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: Jeff, We appreciate you, to appreciate you, the fact, the
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: fact that we needed you, Jeff.
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: We needed you, Jeff, We.
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: Needed the fact that anyone can find helpless.
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: Jeff Richmond, You're our only hope.
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: I like this, Zach Yeah, system a system Yeah, Oh god,
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: come oh.
- 1:15:07Speaker 5: Voicemail.
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: That's how easy it is to get you to come.
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: I could do that ship so easy. Yoda, yoda, come on, baby,
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: you got this, You got this.
- 1:15:19Speaker 3: What's happening?
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: Ewaukee's yub Nub chicky, Why why I celebrate the live?
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: I don't kicking out alien the Ewakey's song made his
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: leg kickout. So I'm gonna I'm gonna text Casey some techniques.
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: First of all, I love you.
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: I'm gonna sing Casey the song so she knows what
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: to do next round. Next time you'll have a fight
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: and you have to get get ignored for three days.
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: Just sing just said, you don't even have to get
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: ignored for three days. And when he whips out his
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: pienis you don't even have to touch it.
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: Just yup, celebrate the life.
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, play this could have been a surprise
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: here it is.
- 1:16:20Speaker 13: Hi, everybody, This is Tamika. Thank you for inviting me
- 1:16:23Speaker 13: back for episode two. I don't know if you remember.
- 1:16:27Speaker 13: I did the highlights and low lights of that episode.
- 1:16:30Speaker 13: I did what's working and what's not working. I'm not
- 1:16:32Speaker 13: sure if you heard that, because I don't think I
- 1:16:34Speaker 13: got it to Joel in time. But for episode six,
- 1:16:37Speaker 13: I'm going to do what I noticed on what I wonder.
- 1:16:39Speaker 13: So what I noticed as I was watching this is
- 1:16:41Speaker 13: that I'm still laughing as I'm watching this episode, So
- 1:16:44Speaker 13: that means the writing is still working. And I think
- 1:16:47Speaker 13: specifically what's working is those moments of unpredictable humor. I'm
- 1:16:53Speaker 13: thinking about early in the episode when Elliott, who looked beautiful,
- 1:16:59Speaker 13: is talking to her and goes, he misses you too,
- 1:17:03Speaker 13: and Turk turns to the side and you hear the BA.
- 1:17:07Speaker 6: Could not have predicted that was coming. That made me laugh.
- 1:17:11Speaker 13: When Lucy's telling the story about how her sister has
- 1:17:14Speaker 13: to have sex with her fiance for the first time.
- 1:17:15Speaker 13: I was just sitting there listening, and then she dropped
- 1:17:18Speaker 13: the in case the stripper got her pregnant.
- 1:17:21Speaker 6: Could not have predicted that.
- 1:17:23Speaker 13: Had Denise started her rant toward Cole with I'm going
- 1:17:27Speaker 13: to get a sock and put Nickels in it, I
- 1:17:29Speaker 13: would have known she was going to end it with
- 1:17:31Speaker 13: beating him with it, because I have brothers like I
- 1:17:33Speaker 13: know how that goes. So it was unpredictable and funny
- 1:17:37Speaker 13: for me when she started out with a jar and
- 1:17:39Speaker 13: then still ended up with beating him with it. So
- 1:17:42Speaker 13: I think it's those unpredictable moments that are really still
- 1:17:45Speaker 13: making me laugh. So good on paper, for sure. So
- 1:17:50Speaker 13: what I wonder since something still isn't quite right is
- 1:17:56Speaker 13: the first thing I wonder is if med school was
- 1:17:58Speaker 13: the right setting watching people learn to do things? Isn't
- 1:18:01Speaker 13: that exciting? Watching people do the damn thing is way
- 1:18:04Speaker 13: more fun. I think about like, and I haven't seen
- 1:18:07Speaker 13: Rocky like the way dudes have seen Rocky, But I
- 1:18:10Speaker 13: feel like we don't spend a whole lot of time
- 1:18:13Speaker 13: watching him get ready to fight. We spend a ton
- 1:18:16Speaker 13: of time watching him fight, And so I think we
- 1:18:19Speaker 13: don't want to spend a whole lot of time watching
- 1:18:21Speaker 13: these kids.
- 1:18:22Speaker 3: Learn the doctor.
- 1:18:22Speaker 13: We want to watch these kids doctor, just like we
- 1:18:24Speaker 13: did with the first group of characters. And then I
- 1:18:29Speaker 13: also wonder who the target audience was. I just want
- 1:18:34Speaker 13: to also point out that I could recognize med School
- 1:18:36Speaker 13: was a way to keep some of the original players
- 1:18:39Speaker 13: engaged while bringing in some new people. But I think
- 1:18:43Speaker 13: it could have been fine just to have them be
- 1:18:45Speaker 13: the next crop of residents coming into the hospital and
- 1:18:48Speaker 13: having the existing characters be doctors in that hospital who
- 1:18:52Speaker 13: were truly doing cameos, because let's face it, y'all are
- 1:18:54Speaker 13: not doing cameos. Target audience. I'm wondering who the target
- 1:18:58Speaker 13: audience is because the existing audience, those existing fans we
- 1:19:03Speaker 13: had been watching that show for like six seven, eight years.
- 1:19:06Speaker 13: We were well past college age, I think, and college
- 1:19:09Speaker 13: kids aren't that exciting to watch unless you're in college.
- 1:19:11Speaker 13: Maybe if you're in high school. So I don't know,
- 1:19:14Speaker 13: Like I'm curious about who your target. Who the target was,
- 1:19:17Speaker 13: not you, but who the target was. Considering that, and
- 1:19:20Speaker 13: considering that it was said in med school, I wonder
- 1:19:23Speaker 13: what the audience investment would have been if Denise or
- 1:19:26Speaker 13: Drew had been the main character, because I know I
- 1:19:29Speaker 13: have found myself wondering what was going on in their head,
- 1:19:33Speaker 13: Like what would their voiceover have been. I don't really
- 1:19:35Speaker 13: care what Lucy's voiceovers are. I don't know why, I
- 1:19:38Speaker 13: just don't. I do have to give some credit to Cole.
- 1:19:40Speaker 13: I gotta give credit where credits due. He was funny
- 1:19:42Speaker 13: for like two point five seconds. It was when Drew
- 1:19:46Speaker 13: was late too. I guess rounds I don't know, and
- 1:19:50Speaker 13: he goes nice of you to join us, Drew to
- 1:19:52Speaker 13: call Cox's attention to it, and then Cox says something
- 1:19:55Speaker 13: and he goes optional, and right there you can see
- 1:19:58Speaker 13: the whole switch where like his eyes droop and his
- 1:20:01Speaker 13: voice changes to.
- 1:20:02Speaker 6: That like, oh, I gotta go.
- 1:20:05Speaker 13: You know he's now like that late nineties Limp Biscuit
- 1:20:09Speaker 13: fan bro. And I know you're probably waiting for me
- 1:20:12Speaker 13: to say, no, shade, but I'm not going to say it.
- 1:20:14Speaker 6: That was shady and I meant it. But he's being
- 1:20:17Speaker 6: he's so predictable.
- 1:20:18Speaker 13: When that's his delivery, and when he's in that mode
- 1:20:21Speaker 13: and predictable is just not funny. And I wish someone
- 1:20:24Speaker 13: had given him that note. So those are all of
- 1:20:26Speaker 13: the things that I wonder, and I wonder if those
- 1:20:29Speaker 13: things were different, if maybe there would have been some
- 1:20:32Speaker 13: chemistry between what was what was good on paper and
- 1:20:36Speaker 13: what was going on on the screen, and we could
- 1:20:38Speaker 13: have gotten some more seasons. So that's it for me.
- 1:20:42Speaker 13: Let me know your thoughts, and thank you for the
- 1:20:44Speaker 13: shout out. The other week.
- 1:20:45Speaker 6: My mother is convinced I'm famous.
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: Bye, Well, I really appreciate you.
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: Very very nice and very nice analysis from Tamika. I
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: really like the way she puts time and effort go ahead.
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: She was wrong about Rocky. There's a lot of training completely.
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: Wrong about Rocky. Is the ultimate movie of Training? Is
- 1:21:07Speaker 3: the hype that's not that's the hype before down Dawn.
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: Ahead, that ship.
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: That ship is hype music for a reason, because you
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: about to run up some motherfucking steps, You about to
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: beat the sheep ship out of some fucking beef.
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: Showing the difference. You've got to do it in Russia.

- 1:21:38Speaker 3: gotta do it in Russia. Had to do it first.
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: You had to do it in Philadelphia in the Philadelphia Hood.
- 1:21:44Speaker 3: Then fucking Polo was like, nah fuck that we going
- 1:21:47Speaker 3: to l A and you had to do it with
- 1:21:48Speaker 3: the brothers and then to beat mister t. Then you
- 1:21:53Speaker 3: had to do it in Russia. Rocky. You had to
- 1:21:56Speaker 3: do it in Russia, and you had to train there too.
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: So I'm just saying, all right, well, thank you, Tamika.
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: I did like what you said. I didn't know what
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: she was on with the jars thing. Is she mistaking
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: another episode?
- 1:22:07Speaker 3: No, So the scene where Cole says some shit and
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: Cox and Turk says, I can't right now, Denise, will
- 1:22:17Speaker 3: you handle this? She says absolutely. She goes, We're gonna
- 1:22:20Speaker 3: take all of your little dumb things that you say.
- 1:22:22Speaker 3: We're going to put it in a jar, nice big jar,
- 1:22:25Speaker 3: and we're going to fill that little jar up with
- 1:22:27Speaker 3: all of your dumb things, and when that jar is filled,
- 1:22:30Speaker 3: I'm gonna take it and I'm gonna beat you over
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: the head with it.
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: Pretty much.
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: I must have blocked that out, all right. Thank you, Tamika,
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: Thank you Jeff.
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: That was really great.
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: Joelle, thank you for helping us find those those awesome
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: calls out. Jelly audience, thank you so much for tuning in.
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: We really appreciate you spending a little bit of time
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: with us. If you get in a fight with your partner,
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: we don't endorse just taking out your penis.
- 1:22:58Speaker 3: Depends on how long y'all been together for.
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: It depends, but we do want it. We do have
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: anecdotal information that for some couples it doesn't work.
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: Listen, my wife gets the joke. She leans in with it.
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: We fight over dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb shit, and we
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: don't fight over real shit because there isn't. We don't
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: argue about that stuff. For some reason, we fight over
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: things that are I can't believe we just had an
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: argument and said I want to get divorced over this
- 1:23:30Speaker 3: dumb shit, you.
- 1:23:31Speaker 5: Know what I mean?
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: Like, I don't know about you guys and how you
- 1:23:35Speaker 3: are with your partners, but you know. I know you're
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: going to find trying. Hey, look I it works for us,
- 1:23:47Speaker 3: and thank god, she freaking gets.
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: Me my only recommendation at all, and take it from
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: someone who's not in a relationship, so I don't really
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: have any fucking leg to stand on. Would be that
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: maybe you wouldn't do the full three days of ignoring
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: each other, but suck it up and be like, I'm
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: sorry sooner.
- 1:24:11Speaker 3: Where's the fun in that though? You know what I mean?
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: Like being in a silent treatment with anyone in my life.
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: There's no we're we're we're having It doesn't work that way.
- 1:24:22Speaker 3: I wish, I wish it did work that way. But
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: you got to be in your feelings also, Man, I
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: gotta let my wife have her time to be angry
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: with me. I don't want to try and you know
- 1:24:35Speaker 3: what I mean, This is this is shit is forever,
- 1:24:37Speaker 3: you know what I mean. So if she's gonna be
- 1:24:39Speaker 3: angry with me for a day, I would I want
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: to allow her to have that shit. Fuck it. You
- 1:24:44Speaker 3: want to be mad at me, be mad at me,
- 1:24:46Speaker 3: and when you do have some shit to say, you're
- 1:24:48Speaker 3: gonna say that shit and we're gonna argue and we're
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: gonna fight about that ship, but we're also gonna make
- 1:24:52Speaker 3: love and we're gonna make up. You know what I mean.
- 1:24:54Speaker 3: This is forever, This isn't you know what I mean?
- 1:24:57Speaker 3: She said something that's true. We yet to have a fight,
- 1:25:01Speaker 3: and I hope we never have a fight about some
- 1:25:03Speaker 3: bullshit that that's gonna that's a real threat to our marriage.
- 1:25:08Speaker 3: We fight about dumb ship like that's my sock. Yes,

- 1:25:24Speaker 3: our marriage is stronger than that. I don't want to
- 1:25:26Speaker 3: chinx it anyway. My point is, you know.
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: To each you guys have a thing that works. That's
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: what we hear and uh and we appreciate you being
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: so candid with us.
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: And that's our show kind of sound.
- 1:25:42Speaker 11: Do or do not?
- 1:25:44Speaker 3: There is no try. I whipped up my penis and
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: said that before to about sure we made about a
