- 3:13swiftly approaching, with May 7th marking the
- 3:16crucial date. If you reside in Massachusetts
- 3:19and have summer travel plans, this could complicate
- 3:22things. Mark Shieldrop from AAA Northeast noted,
- 3:27there's a little bit of a panic out there, but
- 3:29reassured that many can afford to wait. Starting
- 3:33May 7th, adults aged 18 and older will require
- 3:37a real ID for domestic flights in certain federal
- 3:40facilities. Currently, nearly 60 % of Massachusetts
- 3:44residents have complied. but appointments at
- 3:47the Registry of Motor Vehicles are booking out
- 3:50six weeks ahead. Now on to sports. The New York
- 3:59Yankees have made a significant roster move,
- 4:02claiming outfielder Brian De La Cruz off waivers
- 4:06from the Atlanta Braves. De La Cruz has been
- 4:10optioned to Triple -A Scranton Wilkes -Barre.
- 4:13while designated hitter and outfielder Giancarlo
- 4:16Stanton has been transferred to the 60 -day injured
- 4:19list with tendinitis in both elbows. Stanton
- 4:24is in his eighth season with New York. Last season,
- 4:29he hit 27 homers and drove in 72 runs in 114
- 4:34games. In local sports, last night in Canada,
- 4:40The Sox were edged out by Toronto 4 -2. Despite
- 4:44an early lead with Brightman doubling in the
- 4:46first to bring in two runs, the Blue Jays rallied.
- 4:51Varsha's solo homer in the seventh and Guerrero's
- 4:54decisive three -run blast in the eighth sealed
- 4:57the Sox's fate. Slayton took the loss. The Sox
- 5:03now stand at 17 -6, struggling to regain momentum.
- 5:07Tonight, if Border Patrol lets them back in,
- 5:10the Sox face the Twins at Fenway for Game 1 of
- 5:13a 3 -game series. Brian Baio, with a 3 .27 ERA,
- 5:19takes the mound against Joe Ryan. First pitch
- 5:23is at 7 -10 under pleasant skies with a temperature
- 5:26around 71 degrees. Monday night, the Celtics
- 5:30host the Knicks in Game 1 of the East Semifinals.
- 5:36In top news, in a surprising turn, McDonald's
- 5:40reported a 3 .6 % drop in United States. Same
- 5:44-store sales during the first quarter, marking
- 5:47its steepest decline since the onset of COVID
- 5:50lockdowns in 2020. Chief Executive Officer Chris
- 5:54Kempchinsky noted that lower - and middle -income
- 5:57customers are tightening their budgets amid economic
- 6:00uncertainty. McDonald's is not alone. as other
- 6:05fast -food giants like KFC, Pizza Hut, and Domino's
- 6:09also experience declines. Despite this, McDonald's
- 6:14hopes for a boost in sales from a partnership
- 6:16with a Minecraft movie in the second quarter
- 6:18and the anticipated return of the snack wrap
- 6:21later this year. In business news, Spotify has
- 6:28submitted an app update to Apple. adding an external
- 6:31link for subscription purchases in the United
- 6:34States. This move follows a U .S. judge's ruling
- 6:38that Apple violated in order to allow more competition
- 6:41for app downloads. Spotify expressed in a letter
- 6:45to Apple that it finds it absurd that these basic
- 6:49services were not delivered sooner. The ruling
- 6:52issued by U .S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez
- 6:55-Rogers. stated that Apple failed to comply with
- 6:58a prior injunction from an antitrust lawsuit
- 7:01by Fortnite maker Epic Games. Apple has stated
- 7:06it strongly disagrees with the decision but will
- 7:09comply while planning to appeal. In crypto movement,
- 7:14Bitcoin is up 3 % for the week to just under
- 7:18$97 ,000. Ethereum is up 2 % to just over $1
- 7:24,800. And Goatsy's Maximus is up 3%, 2 .8 cents.

- 8:08Hingham, Brookline, and Framingham, just be sure
- 8:12to tell them, sunny morning sent you by. And
- 8:16now, back to the show. Let's talk tech. In more
- 8:21Apple news, Judge Avon Gonzalez -Rogers stated
- 8:25that Apple executive Alex Roman outright lied
- 8:28under oath during the Epic trial. The judge described
- 8:33Roman's testimony as replete with misdirection
- 8:36and outright lies. She highlighted that Roman
- 8:40claimed Apple had not set its 27 % commission
- 8:44fee for purchases outside the App Store until
- 8:47January 16, 2024. However, contemporaneous business
- 8:53documents indicated that the fee was determined
- 8:55in July 2023. Gonzalez -Rogers is now referring
- 9:01the case to a United States attorney for potential
- 9:04criminal contempt proceedings against Apple and
- 9:08Roman. She emphasized that Apple's actions were
- 9:11intended to create new anti -competitive barriers.
- 9:17And in entertainment news. In Havoc, directed
- 9:21by Gareth Evans, Tom Hardy portrays a cop named
- 9:26Walker seeking redemption in a corrupt city reminiscent
- 9:29of a gritty Gotham. The film's title suggests
- 9:33chaos, but it delivers confusion instead. Walker,
- 9:38a heart of a corrupt gang of narcotics officers,
- 9:41finds himself entangled in a convoluted conspiracy
- 9:44while trying to protect the son of a mayoral
- 9:47candidate. Despite some thrilling action sequences,
- 9:51like a chaotic nightclub scene, the screenplay
- 9:53falters with shallow characters and lackluster
- 9:56dialogue. Ultimately, Evans' directorial strengths
- 10:00in action do not compensate for the film's weak
- 10:04narrative and character development. Well, alrighty
- 10:08folks, it's time for the quote of the day. And
- 10:12today, our quote comes from the American politician
- 10:15and 35th president, John F. Kennedy. And he said,
- 10:21As we express our gratitude, we must never forget
- 10:25that the highest appreciation is not to utter
- 10:29words, but to live by them. And that's a wrap
- 10:34for this morning. You can check out our Instagram,
- 10:37YouTube, and TikTok for some captivating aerial
