- 0:00Speaker 1: Let's talk about Apple versus open Ai showdown.
- 0:06Speaker 2: You know what, I've been talking about this for a
- 0:09Speaker 2: long period of time, and now the four stories kind
- 0:12Speaker 2: of come out. So open Ai recruited mister Tan. He
- 0:16Speaker 2: spent twenty four years of Apple. He was a VP
- 0:19Speaker 2: of product design, and all of a sudden, all the
- 0:24Speaker 2: data of how Apple sales, product ideas, etc.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Goes to open Ai.
- 0:30Speaker 2: So it's co founder with Johnny Ive. That's already interesting
- 0:37Speaker 2: to say the least, but they emailed out supplier Intel.
- 0:42Speaker 2: This is going to be one of the biggest issues
- 0:44Speaker 2: in Silicon Valley, I think, and his lawsuit is going
- 0:47Speaker 2: to be major. And going back to picking enemies, Sam
- 0:51Speaker 2: Autman has done a terrible job of understanding that relationships matter,
- 0:56Speaker 2: and you pick two of the most powerful people to
- 0:59Speaker 2: have as your enemies before you IPO in Apple and
- 1:03Speaker 2: in Elon Musk. I've told everyone else be careful what
- 1:09Speaker 2: data you put on Chat, GPT, put yes and chat.
- 1:11Speaker 2: If you remember me telling you, because I was getting
- 1:13Speaker 2: some of these rumblings about them taking data from creators
- 1:16Speaker 2: and business owners. But at this skill is insane and
- 1:20Speaker 2: it goes back to the character of the founder, like
- 1:25Speaker 2: there's a lot of things in that hit piece that
- 1:27Speaker 2: you can say we're salacious, but if you go read
- 1:30Speaker 2: that book, all of those things are not a lie.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Also too, for Microsoft, they're getting some of the blowback
- 1:39Speaker 2: and that's why they're doing their partnership now with Anthropic,
- 1:43Speaker 2: And you can make the argument they should have just
- 1:45Speaker 2: bought one of these companies opposed to just leaning the
- 1:49Speaker 2: open AI Apple, even though it all time how today
- 1:55Speaker 2: I was looking, I'm like, Apple probably would have been
- 1:57Speaker 2: at seven hundred if they would have got this AI race.
- 2:00Speaker 2: But picking the right partner is everything. And whatever the
- 2:04Speaker 2: founder character issues are, they're going to bleed into the company.
- 2:09Speaker 2: So just to let you know really quick. And they're
- 2:11Speaker 2: giving Oracle some issues as well. In the last seventy
- 2:14Speaker 2: two hours, they had a safety quit, they were sued
- 2:16Speaker 2: by the New York Times top executive departs, they shut
- 2:19Speaker 2: down their browser tool left in nine months and sou
- 2:22Speaker 2: for trade thus by Apple, and then their costs selling
- 2:24Speaker 2: product to China against sanctions. I keep telling you there's
- 2:28Speaker 2: a lot of tech companies in the United States of
- 2:31Speaker 2: America that are being spies allegedly for China or highest bidder.
- 2:39Speaker 3: That felt like a perfect segue because this is an
- 2:44Speaker 3: interesting time. I'm going to read a quote here from
- 2:49Speaker 3: kind of a person who is in that alleged spy mode.
- 2:54Speaker 1: General's name is Chang Lu.
- 2:56Speaker 3: He was allegedly utilized undiscovered authored uh other than Cache
- 3:02Speaker 3: and Bug on an unreturned Apple laptop to access shared
- 3:05Speaker 3: network folders. He allegedly downloaded dozens of highly confidential hardware files,
- 3:09Speaker 3: including technical specifications for unreleased products and proper preparatory circuit boards,
- 3:17Speaker 3: leaving messages mocking Apple about what look what I found.
- 3:21Speaker 3: So here's here's the crazy part. This suit happens at
- 3:23Speaker 3: an interesting time.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Right. We know that open ai You see what I
- 3:27Speaker 1: want with Yeah? Time is everything. Time is important.
- 3:32Speaker 3: So we know open ai is supposed to what was
- 3:35Speaker 3: supposed to IPO some way here in the next few
- 3:38Speaker 3: weeks that has been pushed back.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Interesting timing, John.
- 3:43Speaker 3: I've also has left Apple to join forces over at
- 3:46Speaker 3: Opening Eye Houston, and we covered it here. But Apple
- 3:51Speaker 3: suing them about trade secrets tells me a few things.
- 3:55Speaker 3: It tells me they know something or they've seen something
- 3:59Speaker 3: that they want to get a happy.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Because ip is in question. I want everybody to do.
- 4:06Speaker 3: This is the homework assignment tonight, Ian, this is a
- 4:08Speaker 3: homework assignment I'm giving out on your behalf. I want
- 4:10Speaker 3: everybody to search project Sweetpee, open Ai, project Sweetpee.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Why is that important?
- 4:17Speaker 3: Because second half of twenty twenty six, open ai is
- 4:21Speaker 3: going to not only release more software, they're going to
- 4:24Speaker 3: release their quote unquote or alleged hardware product.
- 4:28Speaker 1: What is it?
- 4:29Speaker 3: There's a few, There's a smart glass that allegedly is
- 4:33Speaker 3: on its way, a digital voice recorder, and a wearable pin.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Right now, we're starting to look at how we're going
- 4:41Speaker 3: to use AI going forward in the future. Will it
- 4:44Speaker 3: look like this right or will it look like a
- 4:47Speaker 3: small device that can just be attached to you. If
- 4:50Speaker 3: open ai can get ahead of that and be first
- 4:52Speaker 3: to market with that, the innovation is going to be there.
- 4:55Speaker 1: How many users will you have?
- 4:57Speaker 3: I think Apple knows that this is coming, and because
- 5:00Speaker 3: they know it's coming, let's get this out there. Let's
- 5:04Speaker 3: get off the end and let's put this suit out there. Now,
- 5:06Speaker 3: this is all just a complaint, right There still has
- 5:09Speaker 3: to be something that has to be proven.
- 5:11Speaker 1: This isn't in terms of too many documents.
- 5:15Speaker 2: And now to cut you off if you're going to
- 5:17Speaker 2: steal data from one of the largest international companies.
- 5:21Speaker 1: How about you not touch your friends about.
- 5:23Speaker 3: It or mock the people that you took it from.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Less Yes, allegedly, the timing of it, the idea of
- 5:33Speaker 3: what is coming down the pipeline. I think that there's
- 5:36Speaker 3: there's a lot more to the story and we're going
- 5:38Speaker 3: to see a lot more. But again, that talks to
- 5:40Speaker 3: leadership and also talks about poaching from talent. Right, the
- 5:43Speaker 3: fact that John I've left tells you that, Okay, Apple
- 5:47Speaker 3: from an innovation standpoint may be lacking. But open Ai
- 5:50Speaker 3: maybe where the future is now. John I brought his
- 5:53Speaker 3: company over in terms of innovation. He brought this company
- 5:56Speaker 3: over to open aim. We should be looking for a
- 6:00Speaker 3: product within the next three months, a hardware product, not
- 6:03Speaker 3: just a software one, not an update, a hardware product
- 6:06Speaker 3: from open Ai in the next I would say three months.
- 6:09Speaker 2: And open Ai took They're saying the number is four hundred.
- 6:12Speaker 2: I talked to my friend at Apple. It's more like
- 6:16Speaker 2: five hundred and fifty employees I've got poached. And while
- 6:20Speaker 2: y'all putting out that mid flip phone the Samsung had
- 6:23Speaker 2: twenty two years ago. The other part is Rashott you
- 6:28Speaker 2: talk a lot about manager relationships the way that Johnny
- 6:31Speaker 2: I've exited when they did that commercial together.
- 6:33Speaker 1: I said, it's a war. It's a war time.
- 6:36Speaker 2: So what so that even Elon to get revenge he
- 6:40Speaker 2: turned if you go look read this perspectus, SpaceX is
- 6:44Speaker 2: an AI company and he did that solely to eat
- 6:48Speaker 2: market share from Sam Altman. Now look very soon for
- 6:53Speaker 2: SpaceX and Apple to have a partnership.
- 6:56Speaker 1: The thing that you.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Don't factor up when you guys want to have a
- 6:59Speaker 2: Warren have beef as what if these teams get together
- 7:02Speaker 2: and start to wage war against you?
- 7:05Speaker 1: It's tough. I think.
- 7:07Speaker 3: I think it won't just be Apple that has a
- 7:09Speaker 3: SpaceX partnership. I see that's the next topic. But I
- 7:12Speaker 3: think in terms of where we're headed for a compute
- 7:16Speaker 3: and what it looks like here and what it looks
- 7:18Speaker 3: like in the oral economy, I know, the space economy.
- 7:21Speaker 3: I think that that he's going to create a monopoly,
- 7:24Speaker 3: what they're all going to need him.
- 7:26Speaker 1: I think that's what happened
