- 0:38Speaker 4: gave you a pick behind the curtain because I was
- 0:41Speaker 4: trying to set my phone on silent. Partly was my
- 0:44Speaker 4: old man pause, like you know, it's funny.
- 0:46Speaker 3: I actually had that ready to go regardless of what
- 0:49Speaker 3: just happened, because they're outdated phones in this episode.
- 0:52Speaker 4: Oh okay, I just happened to wake out. Though I
- 0:55Speaker 4: wasn't mocking you in any way, I was just patially
- 0:57Speaker 4: waiting for you to be done. I actually had no
- 0:59Speaker 4: idea what you were doing. Michael Jordan and I have
- 1:01Speaker 4: a great many things in common. We've both got the
- 1:04Speaker 4: bald head, we both are fantastic, we go hard on
- 1:07Speaker 4: the paint, as they say, and we both take things
- 1:10Speaker 4: personally so well. Okay, then let's talk about the episode
- 1:15Speaker 4: and my troubles with technology. But yes, the good, the sad, and.
- 1:20Speaker 3: The literally in my notes. I can even prove it
- 1:22Speaker 3: so literally right there, I believe you. I'm not going
- 1:26Speaker 3: to look at the top bit right there on my
- 1:28Speaker 3: word document.
- 1:28Speaker 4: Let's that's very far away. I can't see it the
- 1:31Speaker 4: phone seat. It's literally you think, Dan, I was just
- 1:35Speaker 4: coming up with a gem on straight off the dome.
- 1:39Speaker 4: But no, it's all scripted. That's the kind of professionalism
- 1:43Speaker 4: we provide you at the Forefinger Discount Network. How am mate,
- 1:46Speaker 4: I'm doing very well.
- 1:47Speaker 3: I've still got a bit of a block nose, a
- 1:48Speaker 3: bit of a runny nose, had a cold last week,
- 1:50Speaker 3: but I'm feeling very refreshed because Nicola last.
- 1:54Speaker 4: Sunday, let me sleep in. Do we want to hear
- 1:56Speaker 4: the story?
- 1:56Speaker 3: Ok, we slip until eleven am. Wait what I wake
- 2:00Speaker 3: up at like eleven am. I just she goes, yeah,
- 2:02Speaker 3: you just look peace. So I just let you sleep,
- 2:03Speaker 3: and I was like, this is the latest I've slept
- 2:06Speaker 3: for a long long time. Kids didn't bother me, Nikola
- 2:09Speaker 3: didn'tother shot the kids for a walk down to the cafe.
- 2:11Speaker 3: They go to coffee, hot chocolate. I just laid in bed.
- 2:13Speaker 3: I felt so for afresh.
- 2:15Speaker 4: I'm a new man. Things are going good here. I'm
- 2:17Speaker 4: in a good place.
- 2:18Speaker 3: You know that our Facebook page is back, you know,
- 2:22Speaker 3: healthy kids, good wife, get to do the show with
- 2:24Speaker 3: you for a living, good times, good times, great classic kids. Indeed,
- 2:27Speaker 3: I'm not I'm good. I'm not sad or drugly. I
- 2:29Speaker 3: probably should be drugs. Maybe that may make me feel bit.
- 2:31Speaker 4: Maybe you should have a little bit of suit a
- 2:33Speaker 4: feed or something like that. But because yeah, you've got
- 2:35Speaker 4: a little bit of horseness in your voice. But guess
- 2:37Speaker 4: what kind of sexy. But that's good to hear. I mean,
- 2:42Speaker 4: it's good to have a Sunday morning sleeping. It is
- 2:44Speaker 4: one of the great pleasures in life, a sleeping It's
- 2:46Speaker 4: just a great time. Anytime, it's a good time to
- 2:48Speaker 4: sleep in, but Sunday morning.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Especially kids thought it was hilarious, Like can you believe
- 2:52Speaker 3: they slept this Lay's daddy alt.
- 2:55Speaker 4: Yeah, there's a reason that the song is easy like
- 2:59Speaker 4: Sunday morning. Right. All this was with the Lovely Layes
- 3:02Speaker 4: on Sunday morning, except what was sort of the opposite. Really,
- 3:05Speaker 4: I mean I woke up at like six am, as
- 3:07Speaker 4: you do, as I do, and I just had a.
- 3:11Speaker 4: I had a really busy weekend and I was thinking
- 3:14Speaker 4: about things in my house. I was over a lose
- 3:17Speaker 4: and I hadn't had an opportunity to do certain things.
- 3:19Speaker 4: That I woke and it was like a hook in
- 3:21Speaker 4: my brain. It's like there are dishes in the sink,
- 3:23Speaker 4: the bed is unmade, there's clothes all over the place.
- 3:26Speaker 4: I can't just lie here and just sort of so
- 3:30Speaker 4: I just gaveling. Land said, honey, honey, I'm just gonna
- 3:33Speaker 4: hit home for a bit and tidy up my house.
- 3:36Speaker 4: I'll be back at nine am and we can have
- 3:37Speaker 4: breakfast and watch inside Welcome to Life in the fast Lane, folks.
- 3:44Speaker 4: She's like, yes, I just want to sleep. Why did
- 3:47Speaker 4: you wake me? Look? Yeah, imagine that did She woke
- 3:51Speaker 4: up and guy wasn't next to it. I could have
- 3:53Speaker 4: been abducted by aliens. That'd been pretty cool though, for
- 3:57Speaker 4: me and her. So yep, but a good weekend on
- 4:01Speaker 4: my part as well. I think I too have been
- 4:03Speaker 4: wrestling with a little bit of a cold. We both
- 4:05Speaker 4: had that sort of soft and sultry sound to our voices.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Well, it's winter here in Australia, so everyone's getting sick.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Because I've got two kids sending him to school in daycare.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Other parents have their kids that are sick. They're like,
- 4:14Speaker 3: I've got to go to work, You're gonna have to
- 4:16Speaker 3: go to kinder You're going to have to go to school.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Send their kids to school sick. They make my kids sick,
- 4:20Speaker 4: and it comes home. The vicious circle continues. It's winter
- 4:25Speaker 4: and straight and how and do you know? Why? Do
- 4:27Speaker 4: you know? Do you know? How? I know? How's that
- 4:30Speaker 4: I invested in an uddie? Oh?
- 4:32Speaker 3: I've got about how did you udies de reckon I have?
- 4:36Speaker 3: It's just you know, just your oversized hoodies, whether because
- 4:39Speaker 3: that's been ripped off now udies and are like that.
- 4:43Speaker 3: It's like yeah, but you go to like Big w
- 4:45Speaker 3: and it's like oversized hoodie. They're called oversized hoodies, but
- 4:47Speaker 3: it's like everyone has called them ooodies.
- 4:49Speaker 4: Yes, or you know, hey, try the audie. Yeah, as
- 4:54Speaker 4: I like to say, it's a sawny, it must be good.
- 4:57Speaker 3: What I do is I'll wait to our friends at
- 4:58Speaker 3: zin pop culture. At the end of winter, they just
- 5:00Speaker 3: have clearance sales, so they always have their uddies at
- 5:03Speaker 3: ninety nine dollars, right. But by the by the time
- 5:05Speaker 3: someone they sounds like twenty eight dollars, and I'm like,
- 5:07Speaker 3: that's when I'm cleaning up, dude, this is.
- 5:09Speaker 4: Guy David's talking. Do you think I've got a payful
- 5:10Speaker 4: price for that shit? I think the algorithm heard me
- 5:14Speaker 4: say it's cold in here. There must be some toros
- 5:17Speaker 4: an atmosphere. I'm glad you said that. The movie guy
- 5:21Speaker 4: with Marlton Davis. Bring it on.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Is it possible to say it's cold in here without
- 5:26Speaker 3: saying there must be torus in the atmosphere. I don't
- 5:27Speaker 3: think it's possible, right.
- 5:29Speaker 4: I don't think it is. We're getting all Sparky Pilastri
- 5:32Speaker 4: up in it. That was his name, right, who's that
- 5:36Speaker 4: the choreographer? Was it sparky No? Spirit fingers? Yeah, spirit fingers?
- 5:40Speaker 4: And he saying cheerleaders, a ballerina has gone our word
- 5:45Speaker 4: or something? Bring it on? What's the old choreographers have
- 5:48Speaker 4: a look. I'm pretty sure it's Sparky Polastrie. I never
- 5:51Speaker 4: will doubt you.
- 5:52Speaker 3: It doesn't say his knee, Sparky Pilastri. Yeah, well done,
- 5:56Speaker 3: Ian Roberts as Sparky Polastric have.
- 5:57Speaker 4: An unforgettable name. But yeah, the older woman rhythm must
- 6:04Speaker 4: have heard me go, hmm, the pilotline of my gas
- 6:07Speaker 4: heater is out. It's still not fixed. I did a
- 6:10Speaker 4: little googles, like when I repair people Gelong region. I
- 6:15Speaker 4: think it's still searching. My heat is pretty antiquated, so
- 6:18Speaker 4: I was like, what comes upodies, how prays unsealed? Visit
- 6:23Speaker 4: our side. I'm like, they're always on. I didn't answer
- 6:27Speaker 4: your question before. How many hooodies in this house or
- 6:29Speaker 4: how many oversized footies in this I'm gonna the over
- 6:32Speaker 4: under on this.
- 6:33Speaker 3: I'm going to say seven me personally, the whole house. No no, no,
- 6:37Speaker 3: me personally, I've got about twelve.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Okay, understandable. They're fun, they're warm, oh yeah, they bring
- 6:50Speaker 4: some they bring some brightness to winter. There are a
- 6:54Speaker 4: few over it lose house. And she said, do you
- 6:57Speaker 4: want one of those? Do you know my big for
- 7:00Speaker 4: you help keep you warm? And these chili times, I'm like, hoodie,
- 7:03Speaker 4: come on, man, cool so warm, guys, a little cooler
- 7:06Speaker 4: than that, even in cool temperatures, sitting there putting together
- 7:11Speaker 4: my nose for full finger discount, so freezing, freezing. It
- 7:15Speaker 4: comes up and like I'm getting anody, guys, I'm doing it.
- 7:19Speaker 4: And that's right, just got the message ding arriving today.
- 7:23Speaker 4: Oh yeah, so when we never looked back, you'll have
- 7:25Speaker 4: twelve soon. It's all's about the US. I can wrap
- 7:29Speaker 4: myself up. Yeah, why are we talking about that? We
- 7:33Speaker 4: just talk about stuff cold. Oh that's right, yes, and
- 7:38Speaker 4: you've had a bit of a cold. But now I've
- 7:39Speaker 4: got an ooty. But guess what, We're going to keep
- 7:41Speaker 4: ourselves warm and you guys as well by talking about
- 7:45Speaker 4: the good, the bad, and the drug ly.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Yes, Now, this episode, there's two ways of looking at this.
- 7:48Speaker 3: When I first I watched it twice. So first time
- 7:50Speaker 3: I watched it went, I was.
- 7:51Speaker 4: Only looking at it one way, So tell me about
- 7:52Speaker 4: the other one.
- 7:52Speaker 3: It's just kind of like you're watching this going this
- 7:54Speaker 3: feels like several stories that we've seen before. You say,
- 7:58Speaker 3: it's just a love joy without the twist. Sure, you know,
- 8:00Speaker 3: he just falls in love with somebody and that's it, right,
- 8:03Speaker 3: Bart's friend falls in love a season two episodes, Season
- 8:05Speaker 3: three pisod maybe season season three episode where Millhouse falls
- 8:08Speaker 3: in love with a girl and Bart's jealous with This
- 8:10Speaker 3: time it's Millhouse who's jealous. That's the same kind of
- 8:12Speaker 3: story there. We've had numerous episodes with Bart being on
- 8:16Speaker 3: drugs or home run marijuana, that kind of thing, and
- 8:19Speaker 3: they go into the rawin sort of fantasy land. Similar
- 8:21Speaker 3: here with Lisa. However, I was in fact a fan
- 8:24Speaker 3: though of the Bart Millhouse aspect here where it was
- 8:27Speaker 3: nice to see Bart finally show some appreciation for Millhouse,
- 8:31Speaker 3: because Millhouse, by this point in the show, he's almost
- 8:34Speaker 3: become just like this punching bag that Bart almost resents
- 8:38Speaker 3: with him. It's almost like he's being his friend out
- 8:40Speaker 3: of pity.
- 8:41Speaker 4: But that's little. They're best friends. Absolutely. Yeah, it does
- 8:44Speaker 4: feel at times like Bart's almost got some degree of
- 8:47Speaker 4: self loathing that someone like Millhouse is his best friends, Like, oh, man,
- 8:51Speaker 4: can't I do better than this? Or he bring he
- 8:52Speaker 4: keeps Millhouse a man to make himself feel better. Yeah,
- 8:55Speaker 4: it's quite an unhealthy, dysfunctional friendship dynamic at times. So yeah,
- 9:01Speaker 4: this was actually kind of nice at the end when
- 9:03Speaker 4: there's some degree of recognition, He's like, this guy is
- 9:06Speaker 4: my friend. This guy has stuck through me through thick
- 9:09Speaker 4: and thin, even when I've treated him badly. I mean,
- 9:13Speaker 4: do you think there's enough of an acknowledgment from Bart
- 9:15Speaker 4: that he's been kind of a friend. I think he did.
- 9:19Speaker 3: I mean him going there and saying I should never
- 9:21Speaker 3: have done this, I should never have him apologizing. I
- 9:24Speaker 3: thought was a genuinely nice, sweet moment at the end there,
- 9:27Speaker 3: And I just think it was nice showing that he
- 9:29Speaker 3: showing Millhouse and showing us that.
- 9:30Speaker 4: He wants Millhouse around. Yeah. I think something that the
- 9:33Speaker 4: show does and maybe has done more frequently more recently
- 9:38Speaker 4: in terms of like the episodes we're talking about, seasons twenty, twenty,
- 9:41Speaker 4: nineteen eighteen, and whatever. Someone in the Simpsons family, usually
- 9:45Speaker 4: Homer will behave badly for the for ninety eight percent
- 9:50Speaker 4: of the episode, and then at the end it'll be
- 9:52Speaker 4: kind of like Marge, I love you, family, I love you. Oh,
- 9:56Speaker 4: it happened last week.
- 9:58Speaker 3: It literally happened last week when it was Homer was
- 10:01Speaker 3: meant to be watching Maggie and he took it to
- 10:02Speaker 3: the park, and it just ends with Homer Simpson, you're
- 10:05Speaker 3: a strong finisher.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Yes, Whether that's sort of a meta commentary on the
- 10:09Speaker 4: show itself from the writers, who knows, but yeah, it
- 10:11Speaker 4: feels like that that's happening more and more, that there'll
- 10:14Speaker 4: be bad behavior, bad behavior, bad behavior, recognition mea culper. Okay,
- 10:19Speaker 4: everything's back to normal. Everything's good. You're still the characters
- 10:21Speaker 4: we know and love. Yeah.
- 10:23Speaker 3: I do find though that in recent seasons, March forgives
- 10:25Speaker 3: Homer for doing barely anything. It's like he's been a
- 10:28Speaker 3: horrible human being for twenty one minutes. He said, one
- 10:31Speaker 3: nice thing, you've just forgiven him. But I do think
- 10:35Speaker 3: it was nice him going to buy the flowers. They
- 10:36Speaker 3: tried to do the whole bait and switch, but he
- 10:37Speaker 3: knew it was coming. He knew it wasn't going to
- 10:38Speaker 3: go to what was her name, Jenny, Jenny.
- 10:42Speaker 4: Playby and Hathaway.
- 10:45Speaker 3: I will say that having a star like Anne Hathaway,
- 10:47Speaker 3: she has said that it's one of her favorite things
- 10:49Speaker 3: she's ever done in her career, being on the Simpson's
- 10:50Speaker 3: Huge Star. She actually comes and does another role like
- 10:53Speaker 3: krusty psychic Princess Penelope. I think your name is Okay,
- 10:57Speaker 3: great role. This one here is so forgettable. How many
- 11:00Speaker 3: times is Bart fall in love with these characters? They
- 11:01Speaker 3: get a female guest fall in love with Bart, be
- 11:03Speaker 3: a girlfriend, Bart knocks her up or whatever.
- 11:05Speaker 4: It's like no, no, and it's just it's just funny
- 11:10Speaker 4: to hear those that doesn't forgettable roles. They really are.
- 11:13Speaker 4: I'm glad you brought this up because I'm glad you
- 11:15Speaker 4: said it.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Yeah, because you could have said this was trust me
- 11:18Speaker 3: Neil and Will Oh yeah whatever, there's there's nothing to it.
- 11:20Speaker 4: Yeah, Anne Hathaway is a professional. Yeah, almost to a fault,
- 11:24Speaker 4: you know. I mean, you had a lot of people
- 11:26Speaker 4: sort of ragging on it during that time when people
- 11:28Speaker 4: didn't like Anne Hathaway. It's like, oh, she's too polish,
- 11:31Speaker 4: he's too professional, she's too much of a theater kid.
- 11:34Speaker 4: She's not doing Hi, I'm An Hathaway and I'm on
- 11:37Speaker 4: the Simpsons. She's no, I'm here to play Jenny. I'm
- 11:40Speaker 4: gonna play Jenny. So yeah, what I've written down here
- 11:44Speaker 4: is like, she's not bad in this by any stretch,
- 11:48Speaker 4: but she's not super memorable. I mean, and even by
- 11:50Speaker 4: the terms of professional actors or name actors who come
- 11:54Speaker 4: on and play characters not necessarily themselves. My go to,
- 11:58Speaker 4: and this is always Edwin Norton. I thought he did. Yeah,
- 12:02Speaker 4: he was fine. The Triple Threat. Yeah, Triple Threat. Of course,
- 12:06Speaker 4: love that bit. But at the same time, I like,
- 12:09Speaker 4: I don't think I put him in my Top ten
- 12:11Speaker 4: or even Top twenty Simpson's Guest Stars or something like that.
- 12:15Speaker 4: But at the same time, he committed to the bit
- 12:17Speaker 4: and he gave a proper performance, which is what a
- 12:19Speaker 4: proper actor does. And that's what Anne Hathaway is doing here.
- 12:22Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, she's working with what she's given and
- 12:24Speaker 4: she's making the most of what she's given. But yeah,
- 12:27Speaker 4: the thing of it is, Jenny is just not that
- 12:29Speaker 4: memorable a character in all that memorable story. I mean,
- 12:32Speaker 4: she's really just sort of good. It's incorrect to call
- 12:37Speaker 4: her a chaos agent because she's not that. But she
- 12:40Speaker 4: is the one that sort of instigates a little bit
- 12:41Speaker 4: of chaos between Barton Millhouse just by virtue of who
- 12:45Speaker 4: she is. Yeah, yeah, and where she's ended up in
- 12:48Speaker 4: this quote unquote relationship. So look, I wouldn't call it
- 12:54Speaker 4: a waste of Anne Hathaway. No. I mean, if Anne
- 12:57Speaker 4: Hathaway wants to be on your show and is excited
- 13:01Speaker 4: about doing it, yeah you're not gonna say no. But
- 13:06Speaker 4: you mentioned the other episode that she's in, and that's
- 13:08Speaker 4: a better fit for it. Use great role. Look, this
- 13:12Speaker 4: is going to turn into me being Rolph Wigan. I
- 13:15Speaker 4: love Anne Hathaway. When I grow up, I'm going to
- 13:17Speaker 4: marry her. But I've always had a lot of time
- 13:19Speaker 4: for her. I've always thought she's a really talented performer, naturally,
- 13:23Speaker 4: but she's also got a real sort of wild and
- 13:27Speaker 4: daring streak in her that sometimes comes out. I love
- 13:31Speaker 4: the Oceans movie, the Ocean's eleven twelve thirteen movie, but
- 13:34Speaker 4: they made a version called Ocean's Eighth which was a
- 13:38Speaker 4: female and like women, so of course I don't get
- 13:43Speaker 4: these chicks out of my Oceans movie. No, no. I
- 13:47Speaker 4: was really looking forward to it, yes, and it didn't
- 13:50Speaker 4: turn out to be that great that. I don't think
- 13:52Speaker 4: the con was all that good. I don't think the
- 13:54Speaker 4: chemistry between the team was all that great. But what
- 13:57Speaker 4: was great was Anne Hathaway playing this movie star character
- 14:01Speaker 4: who's kind of the target of the con. She was
- 14:05Speaker 4: really funny, really sexy. It was just a great performance.
- 14:08Speaker 4: I like, why isn't the whole movie about her?
- 14:10Speaker 3: So, you know, we were a Netflix mini series on
- 14:13Speaker 3: just this character pretty much's you know.
- 14:15Speaker 4: Sort of a list who realized, oh, I've got a
- 14:18Speaker 4: talent for the con and I really enjoy it, and
- 14:22Speaker 4: you know, it's like why do we know a whole
- 14:23Speaker 4: show about her, so she's capable of really great stuff,
- 14:26Speaker 4: and hearing that she has this role later on playing
- 14:29Speaker 4: like I guess Krusty's sidekick.
- 14:31Speaker 3: Or she kind of replaces Krusty to an extent. Because
- 14:33Speaker 3: everyone likes her, you'll really like this episode.
- 14:36Speaker 4: Yeah, apologies, that's guys crushworthy moment over and we'll talk
- 14:40Speaker 4: about the rest of the episode. Yeah, but no, I'm
- 14:44Speaker 4: but I'm glad we're on the same page with that.
- 14:46Speaker 4: That's that Anne Hathaway is good, but not necessarily it
- 14:50Speaker 4: doesn't necessarily bring all that much to the table. The
- 14:53Speaker 4: character doesn't The character doesn't you right?
- 14:54Speaker 3: I also think I'm willing to give bart an out
- 14:57Speaker 3: of forgetting Millhouse as well, because picture yourself and this
- 15:00Speaker 3: older girl who's lovely attractive and it's interested in you.
- 15:05Speaker 3: That's that would consume you. Not that it's ever happened
- 15:08Speaker 3: to me, but I can imagine ten year old me going,
- 15:10Speaker 3: this older girl likes me. Screw my friends, I am
- 15:13Speaker 3: just going to be just focused on this girl.
- 15:15Speaker 4: Now. Oh, sure, you when you're at that young age
- 15:20Speaker 4: and some anyone shows any sort of romantic and interest
- 15:24Speaker 4: in you, when you're starting to sort of get a
- 15:26Speaker 4: hand along, like, oh, there is this thing called love
- 15:29Speaker 4: and romance and I don't know, maybe making out. Wow, yeah,
- 15:33Speaker 4: this is my thing. Now, why is everybody doing this?
- 15:36Speaker 4: You're working it out at the same time. Do I
- 15:38Speaker 4: do here? And then someone comes along who's like, Oh,
- 15:41Speaker 4: they're a little bit more mature than me. It's seen
- 15:43Speaker 4: a little bit more of the world. And wait a minute,
- 15:44Speaker 4: they're in just in me, a little old me. Yeah,
- 15:48Speaker 4: you become laser focused under that. This happened to me
- 15:51Speaker 4: when I was like maybe eleven or twelve years old
- 15:53Speaker 4: and there was a girl who was like thirteen or fourteen.
- 15:58Speaker 4: I was clearly like I was a mouse and she
- 16:00Speaker 4: was the cat, and she was batten me around for
- 16:05Speaker 4: her own amusement. I don't think she was being she's many.
- 16:11Speaker 4: I don't think she was being evil. I don't think
- 16:13Speaker 4: she was being doing it out of malice or spider
- 16:15Speaker 4: or anything like that. I think she just realized I
- 16:18Speaker 4: got this, I got this kid on a wire. I
- 16:20Speaker 4: can just do whatever I please and it'll probably boost
- 16:23Speaker 4: her ego a little bit for someone to be looking
- 16:25Speaker 4: at her with just heart eyes. So yeah, Bridget I
- 16:30Speaker 4: don't I don't begrudge it. Did you ever read her diary?
- 16:34Speaker 4: Never did? It's probably just same, But yeah, I can.
- 16:40Speaker 4: I can wholly relate and appreciate what happened here with
- 16:44Speaker 4: Barton Millhouse in that regard.
- 16:46Speaker 3: With Millhouse as well. Oh you fell on the sword
- 16:49Speaker 3: for your buddy, and now he's just left you. Yea,
- 16:51Speaker 3: even though he came to your houses. That I'll come
- 16:52Speaker 3: back every day and see you Mcgranted it's only been
- 16:54Speaker 3: a week, but.
- 16:54Speaker 4: Still that's I think we were just saying before we started,
- 16:59Speaker 4: before we turned the mind about you know, the weird
- 17:02Speaker 4: and elastic nature of time as you get older gets
- 17:05Speaker 4: a little bit faster. We're running out the clock when
- 17:08Speaker 4: you're young. Oh my god, these days are lasting for ever.
- 17:11Speaker 4: This week a whole week that lasts a very very
- 17:15Speaker 4: long time. So wait, May's finished. In July bended, we're
- 17:22Speaker 4: approaching the July off Ramdom. There's something else I wanted
- 17:26Speaker 4: to talk about, just quickly, in regard to the I
- 17:30Speaker 4: guess Barton Geny relationship as well. Is how I guess
- 17:34Speaker 4: sometimes you can enter in relationship with someone or have
- 17:38Speaker 4: feelings or affection or a crush on someone who will
- 17:41Speaker 4: you feel will make you a better person. You know,
- 17:44Speaker 4: there's that line. I think it's a from the Jack
- 17:46Speaker 4: Nicholson movie as good as it gets, Oh, you make
- 17:48Speaker 4: me want to be a better man. Her name is Nikola,
- 17:51Speaker 4: her name is Louis. Yeah. I really liked the idea,
- 17:58Speaker 4: and they've explored it before on The Simpsons, but I
- 18:02Speaker 4: thought they handled it pretty well here. The fact that, oh,
- 18:05Speaker 4: this person's genuinely good and they sort of see that
- 18:10Speaker 4: I could be genuinely they see that kind of potential
- 18:12Speaker 4: in me. I know that's not nice. No one else
- 18:13Speaker 4: can see it, but this person, this person sees it.
- 18:16Speaker 4: And also, well, they're kind of pretty and kind of
- 18:19Speaker 4: kind of sweet and.
- 18:20Speaker 3: Granted, butts pretending here? Oh yeah, But the thing is,
- 18:25Speaker 3: you finish what you're gonna say, and I'll continue. I
- 18:27Speaker 3: think the further it goes along is like, would it
- 18:29Speaker 3: be it'd be nice to be nice. I'm actually becoming
- 18:32Speaker 3: a better person. I'm not really pretending anymore. Yeah, you
- 18:35Speaker 3: can't clean. I used to be this guy because I
- 18:38Speaker 3: felt sorry for bart because she left him. Obviously, by
- 18:40Speaker 3: the end of it, he wasn't being this not she
- 18:43Speaker 3: was actually changing, making him a better person.
- 18:45Speaker 4: Yeah, and he wanted to be a better as sort
- 18:47Speaker 4: of you know, put Elbato behind him. He was becoming
- 18:50Speaker 4: a girl as much Cordio. So I really like that
- 18:55Speaker 4: aspect of it because I find it's something I find
- 18:57Speaker 4: very very interesting in relationships that well, certainly in my relationship. Yeah,
- 19:02Speaker 4: you you'll fall in great like or in love with someone,
- 19:07Speaker 4: and just like I really want to live up to
- 19:09Speaker 4: the example or the image that they have of me.
- 19:14Speaker 4: I want them to be proud of me. I want
- 19:15Speaker 4: I wanted to deserve them essentially.
- 19:18Speaker 3: And not that you don't to not be who you are.
- 19:20Speaker 3: You want to just improve yourself. You want to be
- 19:22Speaker 3: a better person, could be the better version of yourself
- 19:24Speaker 3: that you know you could be. But they're breaking it
- 19:25Speaker 3: out of you exactly.
- 19:26Speaker 4: Start making your bed, brushing your teeth.
- 19:29Speaker 3: What a concept of cleaning your house, doing the dishes,
- 19:33Speaker 3: waking up, feeding the cat that.
- 19:36Speaker 4: Was the only thing I had to do that morning.
- 19:38Speaker 4: Is like, I think I've fed the cat in the
- 19:39Speaker 4: day or so now.
- 19:41Speaker 3: In regards to Lisa's b plot, here she's on the medication.
- 19:44Speaker 3: While still allowed for some funny visuals with the faces
- 19:47Speaker 3: and whatnot, it didn't really go anywhere. It was just
- 19:50Speaker 3: she was on them and then she was off them.
- 19:53Speaker 4: Yeah, that was it. That was it was I've written
- 19:55Speaker 4: down here. Actually, it's like this whole Lisa b plot
- 19:59Speaker 4: is a little shallow.
- 20:00Speaker 3: Yeah, there's no afterthought to it besides Lisa's scene. But
- 20:02Speaker 3: in the QUICKI mart saying, you know, I learned that
- 20:04Speaker 3: you need to face the challenges head on and blah
- 20:06Speaker 3: blah blah. But I'm thinking the Lisa that we know
- 20:10Speaker 3: wouldn't go on these drugs.
- 20:12Speaker 4: It just felt se convend.
- 20:13Speaker 3: I know she was in a bit of a bad place,
- 20:14Speaker 3: but I still can't buy Lisa would accept medication that's
- 20:17Speaker 3: going to change her thought process.
- 20:19Speaker 4: That's right. I mean, I know that you're very fond
- 20:22Speaker 4: of the episode, and forgive me the title escapes me,
- 20:25Speaker 4: but the one where Lisa is essentially depressed and Marge Lisa, Yeah,
- 20:29Speaker 4: Marge says be depressed. Yeah, and you want to be sad,
- 20:32Speaker 4: be sad, but you want to sad, be sad. Yeah,
- 20:34Speaker 4: and we'll be with you every step of the wok.
- 20:37Speaker 4: You love it. I love it. I think it's just
- 20:39Speaker 4: a great sort.
- 20:40Speaker 3: Of acknowledged understanding of people go through things, and drugs
- 20:44Speaker 3: aren't always the answer. Sometimes you can't fix them. Sometimes
- 20:47Speaker 3: it's just you. You just be you, you be.
- 20:51Speaker 4: If you feel how you want to feel, and I'll
- 20:52Speaker 4: be here to support you through it. Yeah. Now I'm
- 20:55Speaker 4: not saying that to say, look, the talking cure is
- 20:58Speaker 4: best or the simple you know, just being there is best.
- 21:00Speaker 4: And there's no room for pharmaceuticals. There's only room for pharmaceuticals. Yeah,
- 21:04Speaker 4: you've got to be careful how you administer and all
- 21:06Speaker 4: that kind of business. But comparing mon Lisa with this
- 21:12Speaker 4: episode sort of tackling the same topic of you know,
- 21:15Speaker 4: mental health and how to treat it and how to
- 21:17Speaker 4: sort of no best look after yourself in that regard, Yeah,
- 21:22Speaker 4: this just felt oh okay, well we'll just do it
- 21:25Speaker 4: this way. And it makes for a funny visual that
- 21:28Speaker 4: she sings smiley faces everywhere. Not much to it, not
- 21:32Speaker 4: much to it, unfortunately. Yeah. Yeah, it's just the visual.
- 21:36Speaker 4: It's visual gags, that's all it is. Really.
- 21:37Speaker 3: That's for an issue that's quite sensitive. I thought it
- 21:40Speaker 3: just felt too bare bones. Because Lisa we've established in
- 21:44Speaker 3: previous episodes she's got a very addictive personality. I think
- 21:47Speaker 3: they really needed to tap into that. I can't see
- 21:49Speaker 3: someone like Lisa Marjoro's that's it, you're off the pills.
- 21:52Speaker 3: It's like, well, she's clearly enjoying them, on them, enjoying
- 21:56Speaker 3: being on them. Nay, you're just going to say you
- 21:57Speaker 3: can't have them anymore.
- 21:58Speaker 4: That's it. She's just going to be fine that It's
- 22:00Speaker 4: just yeah, yeah, I mean it's a quick fix for
- 22:02Speaker 4: a quick fix. Yeah, it doesn't work. I guess it's
- 22:05Speaker 4: a twenty two minute episode. But if you don't have
- 22:06Speaker 4: someone on drugs, you can't just say you're off them. Now,
- 22:09Speaker 4: that's not how it works. Yeah, I mean that it's
- 22:11Speaker 4: probably going to create even more of a psychological and
- 22:14Speaker 4: emotional imm balance. So it's just a Simpson it's just
- 22:17Speaker 4: an animated show. But I thought, you know, just yeah,
- 22:19Speaker 4: but on a topic like this, and look, it's getting
- 22:23Speaker 4: more and more prevalent every day. I mean, so when
- 22:27Speaker 4: was this I'm jumping on as episode AD in two
- 22:30Speaker 4: thousand and nine. Okay, I think we've been talking about, oh,
- 22:35Speaker 4: we're giving our kids too many pills as opposed to,
- 22:37Speaker 4: you know, letting them run free, and you know, all
- 22:40Speaker 4: that kind of business. Yeah, even at this stage of
- 22:43Speaker 4: the proceedings though, even in two thousand and nine. I
- 22:45Speaker 4: think it's it's a little shallow to be handling it
- 22:47Speaker 4: just like this. He did a similar episode with Bart
- 22:49Speaker 4: where he was on it's like the version of Ridlin
- 22:54Speaker 4: but what do they call it? Probably was really well
- 22:57Speaker 4: their version of version of yeah, yeah, and you know
- 23:00Speaker 4: he's becoming conspiracy theorist and bah blah. Because it was good.
- 23:03Speaker 4: It was to control his.
- 23:03Speaker 3: Ad D behavior, ADHD behavior, and this one here it's
- 23:06Speaker 3: just Leasa is depressed.
- 23:07Speaker 4: We need to make it happier. And I was like,
- 23:09Speaker 4: marginal people should not be approving this well exactly given
- 23:13Speaker 4: what we were talking about before with that, with that
- 23:14Speaker 4: previous episode and that lovely sort of I want to
- 23:16Speaker 4: say pep talk, but yeah, that sympathetic chat that she
- 23:20Speaker 4: had with.
- 23:20Speaker 3: Her Yeah, were speaking about last week's episode. By the way,
- 23:24Speaker 3: the similarities with the Homer just sort of getting his
- 23:26Speaker 3: way out of trouble. I actually found similarities just with
- 23:28Speaker 3: the stories in general, where someone who doesn't usually have
- 23:32Speaker 3: a love in their life has a love in their life.
- 23:34Speaker 3: They become a different person. But then when the real
- 23:36Speaker 3: version of the stuff comes out, the person just leaves
- 23:38Speaker 3: them and then we get a sweet ending.
- 23:40Speaker 4: It's any teeny mimo. Oh, yeah, it's a similar thing.
- 23:45Speaker 3: It's a similar kind of templates. Yeah, it's not the same,
- 23:48Speaker 3: but it's a similar template. Yeah, or certainly similar ideas
- 23:51Speaker 3: being explored. Yeah, just through Yeah, the lens of a
- 23:54Speaker 3: different character, being a better version of yourself and then
- 23:56Speaker 3: the real version of yourself, but not the real version.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Bart was different here because mo in that episode, he
- 24:02Speaker 3: at least he was making cracking those gags and whatnot.
- 24:04Speaker 3: He was trying to change for her. But just said
- 24:06Speaker 3: to Jenny here, this is who I used to be,
- 24:09Speaker 3: but I'm different now. And she's just like, nah, you
- 24:11Speaker 3: lied to me. I'm leaving, Which is why I felt
- 24:13Speaker 3: sorry for Bart, because he was actually making a genuine effort.
- 24:15Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, you would hope that someone like Jenny, who
- 24:20Speaker 4: appears to be very sweet, very generous, hopefully she would
- 24:25Speaker 4: be very forgiving.
- 24:27Speaker 3: Well, they did actually animate her face quite well in
- 24:29Speaker 3: that scene. You can sort of see the thought process
- 24:31Speaker 3: going through her mind. She's like, oh, yeah, but you're
- 24:34Speaker 3: lied to me. Oh but yeah, but you're lied to me.
- 24:37Speaker 4: That's the kind of act Anne Hathaway is. The power
- 24:39Speaker 4: of the performance comes through in the animation, but.
- 24:43Speaker 3: It's also the introduction of Shorna this episode here, Shorta
- 24:46Speaker 3: becomes a staple of the of the show. I won't
- 24:49Speaker 3: leave who Shell reveal who she is.
- 24:50Speaker 4: I know who she becomes.
- 24:51Speaker 3: She's actually related to a particular character. She's somebody's daughter.
- 24:54Speaker 3: We find out in future episodes. But I actually don't
- 24:57Speaker 3: mind the fact that this could She could have easily
- 24:59Speaker 3: just in one note character here, But I think having
- 25:02Speaker 3: a female aspect of the boys will freshen up that stick.
- 25:05Speaker 4: That's that's very true. Not to jump ahead to favorite moments,
- 25:09Speaker 4: but yeah, the greenest of green. Let's get to a
- 25:13Speaker 4: favorite moments? Should Let's do it? Have I ruined your

- 25:53Speaker 4: Hey, my favorite quote forget Jenny hod Damn Shawna. It
- 26:00Speaker 4: just seems like a good hang. But then the last
- 26:05Speaker 4: time I said this about a young lady, it was
- 26:07Speaker 4: the Hawk Twarker. She seems like a cool person. Does
- 26:11Speaker 4: she exist anymore? Not? No, not anymore, she has just vanished.
- 26:18Speaker 1: No.
- 26:20Speaker 4: Yeah, the lure of that sweet sweet crypto bucks just
- 26:24Speaker 4: just for her in And then she got involved in
- 26:26Speaker 4: some kind of weird rug pool or something like that,
- 26:29Speaker 4: and everyone's like, oh, we trusted you. You seemed like
- 26:35Speaker 4: a nice cow. But yeah, sure, that was just a
- 26:38Speaker 4: great little bit. And I'm glad to hear that. Yeah,
- 26:43Speaker 4: We're gonna get more short in our future, because in
- 26:45Speaker 4: this episode just seemed like a nice little sprinkling of spices.
- 26:48Speaker 4: It's like, oh, wow, a new character who seems kind
- 26:51Speaker 4: of interesting, and you're right that having a adding yeah,
- 26:53Speaker 4: a female element to the bully cop.
- 26:56Speaker 3: It's almost got to the point where I feel like
- 26:57Speaker 3: they don't really know what to do with the bullies anymore.
- 26:59Speaker 3: It's just that dumb people aren't really fearing of them anymore.
- 27:03Speaker 3: It's just it's kind of just.
- 27:05Speaker 4: A bland stick now. Yeah, they're just kind of pisted. Yeah, yeah,
- 27:09Speaker 4: as opposed to like a threat or you know, just
- 27:13Speaker 4: this sort of constant existential doom that exists for young children.
- 27:20Speaker 4: You have to sort of walk past a certain bus
- 27:22Speaker 4: stop or you know, I've got this person in my
- 27:24Speaker 4: class and it's gonna make my life. Hell yeah. Now,
- 27:26Speaker 4: it's just like we're gonna have to make life unpleasant
- 27:29Speaker 4: for a reason.
- 27:31Speaker 3: And it would make sense that they're trying to impress
- 27:33Speaker 3: a girl. Oh yeah, those guys in particular.
- 27:38Speaker 4: Yeah, so, no, a really good addition. Should I mention
- 27:41Speaker 4: one or two or other? I'll tell you what one
- 27:43Speaker 4: I So.
- 27:44Speaker 3: I liked, you know, when Homer was arguing with his
- 27:47Speaker 3: reflection right in the water and he hands over his wallet, right,
- 27:50Speaker 3: I disliked that Homer was the one doing that.
- 27:52Speaker 4: Okay.
- 27:52Speaker 3: I think it was the aspect of this episode that
- 27:55Speaker 3: I didn't like the most was Home was too dumb
- 27:58Speaker 3: when he hits the fly with his head, and I
- 27:59Speaker 3: just they really dumbed him down here, just to the
- 28:01Speaker 3: point where he was just a blithering idiot.
- 28:03Speaker 4: Right.
- 28:04Speaker 3: I like the gag of him arguing with his reflection
- 28:07Speaker 3: in handing over the wallet. I think it's better suited
- 28:09Speaker 3: to someone like Grandpa or something, someone who's already else.
- 28:12Speaker 3: But I think Dan himself did the absolute best it
- 28:15Speaker 3: could possibly do with the material.
- 28:17Speaker 4: I think it was just he somehow made it funny,
- 28:19Speaker 4: even though I was what she's gone.
- 28:19Speaker 3: Guy, this is stupid. I still really laugh. So I
- 28:22Speaker 3: think the gag itself, I like, I just don't think
- 28:24Speaker 3: home it was the right choice for the gag.
- 28:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I completely understand where you're coming from. And yes,
- 28:29Speaker 4: one props to Dancy for yeah, the way the way
- 28:32Speaker 4: he executed look man, not trouble. Yeah, I think, as
- 28:39Speaker 4: we said before, doing the best with not bad material
- 28:43Speaker 4: but sort of subpar or mediocre material. Yeah, so sign
- 28:47Speaker 4: of a pro indeed, But us, as you like, I
- 28:51Speaker 4: had a couple more, not too many. I think we've
- 28:53Speaker 4: been giving Millhouse. We've been big upping our boy Van
- 28:57Speaker 4: Hout in this episode. What I've written here is when
- 28:59Speaker 4: he when he takes the rap, when he takes the
- 29:01Speaker 4: fall Wednesdays and everything. Yeah, but yeah, what are they
- 29:07Speaker 4: They threatened him with like a five day suspension, a
- 29:10Speaker 4: week suspension, a week suspension. He says, a nickels a skut.
- 29:14Speaker 4: First of all, I'm assuming it's jailhouse or criminal slang.
- 29:19Speaker 4: But yeah, I've just written Millhouse what a boss? Was
- 29:24Speaker 4: just a nickel? That's great. I thought that was so
- 29:26Speaker 4: and a little out of character. But at the same time,
- 29:31Speaker 4: I can buy him saying that either by virtue of
- 29:34Speaker 4: just he's being handed with Barton, he's sort of picked
- 29:36Speaker 4: up a little bit of his attitude. So but yeah,
- 29:39Speaker 4: I think we've seen mill has do that before as well.
- 29:41Speaker 4: Occasionally he'll show sort of a bit of grit or
- 29:47Speaker 4: unforeseen depth. So yeah, I just really enjoyed a nickel.
- 29:52Speaker 4: Fantastic and I'm always happy when Wise Guys shows up
- 29:55Speaker 4: to have him be the Zamboni King. Nice. Yeah, why
- 30:00Speaker 4: year that ending? Was? It worked? Oh? Absolutely?
- 30:02Speaker 3: I was a fan of just the visual gags, and
- 30:04Speaker 3: so I liked when the three Z's land next to Willie.
- 30:09Speaker 3: It was the three ends and they look like Z's
- 30:11Speaker 3: three and it's like he's sleeping on the ground when
- 30:14Speaker 3: the schools falling apart and they all hit him in
- 30:16Speaker 3: the head. He passes out. The three Ends land next
- 30:18Speaker 3: to him his ZZ. Yes, I like when they say
- 30:20Speaker 3: we don't know that, we don't know the why, and
- 30:22Speaker 3: then WILLI pulls away his heads.
- 30:23Speaker 4: And then there was the we talked about the smiley faces.
- 30:25Speaker 4: As sort of silly as that.
- 30:27Speaker 3: Story was, I like the Wigan getting shot and replacing
- 30:29Speaker 3: the blood with the smiley faces. That's all the way
- 30:32Speaker 3: they deployed the smiley faces like that I thought pretty
- 30:36Speaker 3: imaginative and kind of bleak as well, because we're looking
- 30:40Speaker 3: at this horrible aspect of life. Oh certainly, and let's
- 30:42Speaker 3: just let's just pump ourselves full of drugs and make
- 30:44Speaker 3: it all look better.
- 30:45Speaker 4: That's the thing. It's actually a really dark story, it is.
- 30:49Speaker 4: And when you when you put it in that, in
- 30:51Speaker 4: that framework or in that context, it's like, you really
- 30:54Speaker 4: could have done a whole episode about this. Of course
- 30:57Speaker 4: you could have. That's what I was saying.
- 30:58Speaker 3: It wasn't flasht enough because rather than try and fix
- 31:00Speaker 3: the problems, it's let's just pump ourselves full of drugs
- 31:03Speaker 3: to make us feel better.
- 31:04Speaker 4: Yeah. But if you surround that idea of like, there's
- 31:07Speaker 4: a whole lot of bad shit in the world and
- 31:09Speaker 4: this is acting as like a cushion yep for that
- 31:11Speaker 4: a band aid. Yeah, and then expand on that, expand
- 31:15Speaker 4: on that, expand on that, go deeper.
- 31:17Speaker 3: Also touch on sometimes drugs are important, sometimes they needed right, certainly, Yeah,
- 31:21Speaker 3: but don't use them as a crutch to prevent yourself
- 31:23Speaker 3: from actually making a difference. I don't think you can
- 31:26Speaker 3: cover that adequately in the seven or so minutes that
- 31:30Speaker 3: you were devoting of a twenty two minute episode.
- 31:32Speaker 4: Hopefully you can fit all that out into a twenty
- 31:34Speaker 4: two minute episode or at least maybe, you know, eighteen
- 31:37Speaker 4: to nineteen minutes, because you're going to have to have
- 31:39Speaker 4: a B plot in that episode.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Because the whole reason she was like this was because
- 31:43Speaker 3: she had such a bleak outlook on the world and
- 31:45Speaker 3: where it was heading. And then they pump it full
- 31:47Speaker 3: of drugs so that that stuff's still there. Well, yeah,
- 31:49Speaker 3: now she's not seeing it. Now she's a problem because
- 31:52Speaker 3: she keeps acknowledging it because what a skinner say. There's
- 31:54Speaker 3: one line where he says, this outburst was edis this
- 31:57Speaker 3: or it was just a oh?
- 31:58Speaker 4: I think you said it was either like this is
- 31:59Speaker 4: completely overreaction or just a normal reaction, or something like that.
- 32:02Speaker 4: Your outburst was either a sign of emotional imbalance or
- 32:04Speaker 4: a passionate response to a sobering truth, basically a more
- 32:07Speaker 4: elegant way. I said, but yeah, what Lisa was doing
- 32:11Speaker 4: here was essentially the two thousand and nine version of
- 32:14Speaker 4: doom scrolling. Yeah. Yeah, and look, I hope I'm not alone.
- 32:19Speaker 4: I think a lot of people do that, at leasts.
- 32:21Speaker 4: You know, you may just start watching one YouTube video
- 32:24Speaker 4: or listening to one podcast, and all of a sudden,
- 32:26Speaker 4: the almighty algorithm things, this is what he's into, this
- 32:30Speaker 4: is what he wants to hear. I'm going to keep
- 32:31Speaker 4: telling him about how he's taking all the kids.
- 32:34Speaker 3: That's a lighted in an episode of The Simpsons where
- 32:37Speaker 3: they home is reading a paper. I think he's watching
- 32:39Speaker 3: the kids or whatever, and he puts the paper in
- 32:41Speaker 3: it and Maggie's like dressed up in all this makeup whatever,
- 32:43Speaker 3: and you go, that's it.
- 32:44Speaker 4: I'm out of here. That's me when I'm doing scrolling.
- 32:46Speaker 4: I see something, I'm like, that's it. I'm out of here.
- 32:48Speaker 4: I've had enough. Everyone has their own particular sort of
- 32:51Speaker 4: yeah threshold, I've seen enough. It's like, this isn't good
- 32:56Speaker 4: for me. Put the phone down. I had a had
- 33:00Speaker 4: this the other day. This is when when I was
- 33:02Speaker 4: talking about being at losing way here at six am.
- 33:05Speaker 4: It's like, I want to look at my phone. Wait
- 33:08Speaker 4: a minute. This is like when I used to smoke cigarettes,
- 33:11Speaker 4: and I've said many times in the past that it's
- 33:13Speaker 4: addictive as that, if not more so. And I'm like,
- 33:16Speaker 4: you know what, I'm going to lie for a minute,
- 33:18Speaker 4: be present, be in my thoughts. I'm not going to
- 33:21Speaker 4: pick up the phone, not going to look at social media,
- 33:23Speaker 4: not even going to look at like the news. Honestly,
- 33:26Speaker 4: God started twitching in my head. I'm not try I
- 33:30Speaker 4: like it here, need I need, I need external stimulation.
- 33:35Speaker 4: I ended up actually had my smart watch on. I
- 33:38Speaker 4: didn't look at anything on that, but I was like,
- 33:40Speaker 4: I'm setting the time I'm sitting the time of fifteen minutes.
- 33:43Speaker 4: I made it fifteen minutes, and I was like, okay,
- 33:45Speaker 4: time retreat. Wow. But like, I'm not looking at Facebook
- 33:50Speaker 4: or X or anything like that. I'll look at the
- 33:53Speaker 4: news that I feel like a legitilimber person then but
- 33:56Speaker 4: an then it was like, oh, I've rewired my self
- 34:00Speaker 4: in a bad way. And I don't think I'm alone.
- 34:04Speaker 3: I mean, I read so much news during the day
- 34:06Speaker 3: on my phone. None of it stays with me. It's
- 34:09Speaker 3: just it's just killing time really, as opposed to actually
- 34:12Speaker 3: reading news. The other night, I went to bed at
- 34:14Speaker 3: ten forty five, which is earlier for me. I was like,
- 34:15Speaker 3: great for midnight for eleven, I'm gonna be going to
- 34:18Speaker 3: bed early, getting a good night's sleep. I'm laying in
- 34:20Speaker 3: bed on my phone, blah blah blah. I look at
- 34:21Speaker 3: it and it was like twelve ten. I've been on
- 34:24Speaker 3: my phone for an hour. What I just said to myself, Brendan,
- 34:27Speaker 3: what are you doing? I put the phone down, I'm
- 34:29Speaker 3: laying I'm like, but.
- 34:31Speaker 4: I really need to just finish what I was reading. Hey,
- 34:35Speaker 4: crazy indeed indeed a crazy trivia. I'm going to sit
- 34:43Speaker 4: here and try and draw the connection between those two things.
- 34:46Speaker 4: But in the mean time, let's asking trivia question. Next question,
- 34:49Speaker 4: you there eating the beast. My first question for you
- 34:52Speaker 4: is what kind of shoes the skin are wear? Oh? Hey,
- 34:56Speaker 4: I did write it down. Sorry, I'm Dana's always very
- 35:00Speaker 4: diligent about it. I'm not going to check my notes.
- 35:02Speaker 4: I'll always check my notes because what's wrong with that?
- 35:05Speaker 4: He's wearing shush MutS. Yes, shush MutS, which brand from
- 35:10Speaker 4: try and science brand, Yes, not discolored. Hush hushpups. You
- 35:16Speaker 4: mentioned the letters before that were falling on Willing andes indeed,
- 35:20Speaker 4: but which letter hits Willy in the face? And it's
- 35:24Speaker 4: not the why that he pulls out for that? Gag Ah.
- 35:27Speaker 4: I'm going to say, p you're close, but it's al okay,
- 35:32Speaker 4: have am my close?
- 35:33Speaker 3: So n ops in the apphabet Okay. I see you're saying, yes,
- 35:38Speaker 3: the building blocks of all letters. I'm thinking of the
- 35:40Speaker 3: word springfield. My next question is what type of cookies
- 35:45Speaker 3: does Jenny bring to the old folks home?
- 35:49Speaker 4: Well, there were various kinds. Do I have to name
- 35:51Speaker 4: all of them your list? I can only name one
- 35:54Speaker 4: because I only put one down. But she got chock
- 35:58Speaker 4: chip for Donald? Is there low sodium or no sodium?
- 36:01Speaker 4: Low sodium for Abe? And best? One is not made
- 36:04Speaker 4: by immigrants? For Sam? And imaginary? I knew one was imaginary.
- 36:09Speaker 4: That's right. Well, there goes one of my questions. Chuck
- 36:12Speaker 4: ship for Donald, sock shit chuck shit? Did I say
- 36:16Speaker 4: chuck shit for darnalk? Did Is that what I said?
- 36:19Speaker 4: It sounded like it. I'm getting a bit mesh mash.
- 36:22Speaker 4: Excuse me, that's something from fear Factor. You guys, you
- 36:25Speaker 4: might like chuck chip cookies, but chuck shit cookies. Remember
- 36:30Speaker 4: those times when Joe Rogan was just a guy who
- 36:32Speaker 4: hosted TV. What a time to be alive, Joe Rogan,
- 36:37Speaker 4: friend of the pod, Come on board. Here's a question
- 36:40Speaker 4: for you, Dano Millhouses we used to be friends. Played
- 36:45Speaker 4: is number what six? Wow?
- 36:48Speaker 3: Now I've got a bit to discuss when we get
- 36:50Speaker 3: to that moment of the episode as well. Okay, we'll
- 36:52Speaker 3: discuss it when we get there. My next question for
- 36:54Speaker 3: you is Bart had been at the retirement castle for
- 36:57Speaker 3: how long before he started complaining?
- 37:00Speaker 4: To say, ten minutes?
- 37:00Speaker 3: Ten minutes? Yeah, yeah, it's like seven years or something
- 37:03Speaker 3: in hours or whatever what we were saying before.
- 37:07Speaker 4: Yeah, time is elastic, and when you're young stretches out.
- 37:11Speaker 3: Well you know how I'll do it with kids cause
- 37:12Speaker 3: I go, excuse me, they go, they go. They'll say
- 37:16Speaker 3: to me, how long until we get home? I'll go
- 37:18Speaker 3: fifteen minutes, fifty so long ago. It's to say it
- 37:22Speaker 3: as like a spider episode and they go, oh shit,
- 37:23Speaker 3: this like you look, that's right.
- 37:27Speaker 4: Watch your language. Did you ask me a question? You
- 37:32Speaker 4: one more? Do it? No mass. What is the slushy
- 37:36Speaker 4: that Bart is drinking at the quickie mart?
- 37:39Speaker 3: It's the Shrek five twelve ounce with a trivia question
- 37:43Speaker 3: on the bottom that gives you ten percent off any
- 37:45Speaker 3: Shrek movie besides the first two.
- 37:48Speaker 4: Correct? Do you remember the actual name of the Shrek flavor? Oh?
- 37:51Speaker 3: Bury, It's Bury something right, very blast verry blast. I
- 37:54Speaker 3: thought it's some sort of Shrek aspect to it, a
- 37:56Speaker 3: berry blast. Yeah, yeah, five twelve hours I remembered all
- 37:59Speaker 3: those details off the top of my head.
- 38:01Speaker 4: You did really well. There's a lot going on in
- 38:03Speaker 4: that Dimi yours.
- 38:04Speaker 3: All right, Let's get into some stone Cutter of shoutouts
- 38:06Speaker 3: and then we'll review the episode, sure thing, Starting with

- 39:39Speaker 4: it's one of Dando's kittens. They really want to be inside,
- 39:44Speaker 4: all right.
- 39:44Speaker 3: So the Good, the Sad, and the drugly Originally at
- 39:47Speaker 3: April nineteenth, two thousand and nine, the top three films
- 39:50Speaker 3: at the US box office at this time were number
- 39:52Speaker 3: one or number three. That number three was Monster's BESTUS
- 39:54Speaker 3: Aliens still hanging around there, apparently very successful.
- 39:58Speaker 4: This was the time when you could anything animated was
- 40:03Speaker 4: doing well, and it still does to some degree. Now
- 40:06Speaker 4: Pixar can't of be successful. Even pix I can't do
- 40:08Speaker 4: the days well rest in peace, Elio. Yeah, I know, right,
- 40:12Speaker 4: twenty one million or something. It's like, oh shit, look,
- 40:16Speaker 4: I'm not going to scoff. It's like if someone came
- 40:18Speaker 4: to my door with a wheelbarrow of twenty million dollars
- 40:20Speaker 4: in it, It's like, hey, danks. Yeah, however, my name
- 40:24Speaker 4: was Pixar and going, yeah, what's this chump change? Yeah?
- 40:26Speaker 4: So yeah, but monsters is that? I mean, yeah, there
- 40:29Speaker 4: was there was a time when just didn't even need
- 40:31Speaker 4: to be sort ip.
- 40:33Speaker 3: It could just be like, what are two things that
- 40:35Speaker 3: kids like, monsters and aliens?
- 40:36Speaker 4: Let's have them verse each other This is the kid's
- 40:40Speaker 4: version of Nuts and Gum Together at last Yeah, Cats
- 40:42Speaker 4: Versus Dogs and number two were State of Play thriller
- 40:46Speaker 4: with Ross Crowe and Ben Affleck yeap, and number one
- 40:49Speaker 4: was zac Efron zac Efron filmed Do You Reckon? You
- 40:51Speaker 4: work out what it is? I'm gonna say it's seventeen correct, Yeah,
- 40:55Speaker 4: Matthew Perry, Matthew Perry. Yeah. But by the way, the
- 40:58Speaker 4: one about friends returns this week. Oh it's back.
- 41:01Speaker 3: Yes, it's back. Baby's back as we record this, but
- 41:03Speaker 3: we're recording it to night.
- 41:05Speaker 4: Oh that's a little that's a little bonding time between
- 41:09Speaker 4: between the Dan knows, yes, talking about their favorite friends.
- 41:12Speaker 4: Let her be good, glad to hear it's back. It's
- 41:16Speaker 4: back baby. Yeah.
- 41:17Speaker 3: So seventeen again was number one at the US box office.
- 41:19Speaker 3: In this episode aired production code lab F zero seven,
- 41:23Speaker 3: written by Mark Wilmore, directed by the I say legendary
- 41:27Speaker 3: Rob Oliver, because you know why, he's the guy who
- 41:29Speaker 3: when I went to the Simpsons studio, were there with Nicki,
- 41:32Speaker 3: our friend Nicki I Saudia. I think she's now like animation,
- 41:35Speaker 3: like the senior animated production producer or whatever. She's like
- 41:37Speaker 3: in charge of everything animation. Anyway, we went there and
- 41:41Speaker 3: she was like, I said, to go do some stuff. Hey, Rob,
- 41:43Speaker 3: here these guys want Astralia Simpsons fans look after them.
- 41:45Speaker 4: And Rob's like cool, okay, well I was working, but sure,
- 41:50Speaker 4: come over here. It just like bothered in funck. Half
- 41:53Speaker 4: an hour.
- 41:53Speaker 3: He showed us how to draw March Simpson the videos
- 41:56Speaker 3: on the introde. That's Rob Oliver And I always say
- 41:58Speaker 3: he's the guy who designed the Simps s David box art,
- 42:01Speaker 3: which to me is a pretty cool thing.
- 42:03Speaker 4: I think it earns your legend status. Yeah. I think
- 42:05Speaker 4: of all the DVD's, e Aty the Time has really
- 42:07Speaker 4: cool cover up, but the Simpsons arn't like that. He
- 42:10Speaker 4: drew them all.
- 42:10Speaker 3: He designed the shape the shaped ones as well, which
- 42:13Speaker 3: for collectors was a bit bothersome because it was like
- 42:16Speaker 3: didn't fit on.
- 42:16Speaker 4: The shelf properly subtracting points for sorry, he was dole
- 42:20Speaker 4: to do it.
- 42:20Speaker 3: But like he designed the cover up for the DVD
- 42:22Speaker 3: for the Simpsons, which I think is pretty awesome.
- 42:24Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that's a pretty great thing to have on
- 42:27Speaker 4: your resume. Yeah, but the chop being nice to the
- 42:30Speaker 4: Dan Doos, he is indeed a lovely man. Yeah, chop
- 42:32Speaker 4: bold gag, I will not mock teachers out there at
- 42:34Speaker 4: cell phone. That's the cell phone bit, yes, yes, And
- 42:37Speaker 4: the couch gag. The Simpsons slashed their way through the
- 42:39Speaker 4: jungle to get to their couch, only to find monkey
- 42:42Speaker 4: versions of themselves already sitting on it. Ape Simpsons ape
- 42:45Speaker 4: Simpsons in Abe Simpson No ape Simpsons.
- 42:48Speaker 3: So the episode kicks off with Butt and Milhouse and
- 42:50Speaker 3: they're standing at the front of the school and they
- 42:52Speaker 3: both impressed themselves because they've unscrewed all the screws in
- 42:54Speaker 3: the school, and all of a sudden everything collapses at once.
- 42:56Speaker 3: We get some cool visual gigs. He like I said,
- 42:58Speaker 3: the z's with Willie, But I also really like to
- 43:00Speaker 3: the Sandwich Ralph Sandwich just snapping it up.
- 43:06Speaker 4: But but then.
- 43:07Speaker 3: Tells Millhouse, you go hi the evidence, while so I
- 43:09Speaker 3: walk around going who would do such a thing? What happened?
- 43:12Speaker 4: They do seem like a good team in disregard they're
- 43:15Speaker 4: best friends. Yeah, as I mentioned earlier about you know,
- 43:18Speaker 4: I like the ocean's kind of thing, and everyone's got
- 43:20Speaker 4: their role in that, and you know these guys are
- 43:22Speaker 4: oceans too. Essentially they pulled a pretty nifty scam, and
- 43:25Speaker 4: now it's like, okay, well you take care of this business,
- 43:27Speaker 4: and I'm going to do some distraction. No one will
- 43:29Speaker 4: ever suspect us. Like that's good, that's good teamwork. Yeah,
- 43:32Speaker 4: well done. I did watch this as well.
- 43:35Speaker 3: You know how, sometimes I feel like I'm more lenient
- 43:38Speaker 3: with it now, bosed to be real stick with the continuity.
- 43:40Speaker 3: Right now I'm just like whatever, But I feel like, yeah, whatever, yeah,
- 43:44Speaker 3: but now I watched this and I go I never
- 43:47Speaker 3: once was bothered by the fact that the school collapsed. Normally,
- 43:50Speaker 3: wouldn't you be going, well, how is the school in
- 43:52Speaker 3: the next scene? Who rebuilt the school? Did the kids
- 43:54Speaker 3: have to pay for it? What happened here?
- 43:56Speaker 4: Why did I have the bowl?
- 43:57Speaker 3: But that didn't enter my mind. Sometimes maybe realize just
- 44:02Speaker 3: go with it. Yes, it's just a show.
- 44:05Speaker 4: Yeah. I think there are certain episodes that by virtue
- 44:09Speaker 4: of the way they're put together or whatever, or just
- 44:11Speaker 4: the mood or the tone that they said, all the
- 44:13Speaker 4: way they make you feel. Yeah, it's like, you know what,
- 44:16Speaker 4: I'll let that slide.
- 44:17Speaker 3: I think this continuity is different too. For example, a
- 44:20Speaker 3: character that's been established for twenty years behaving in a
- 44:23Speaker 3: completely different way to what we are used to for
- 44:26Speaker 3: the sake of a story. Yeah, that's the continuity. It
- 44:28Speaker 3: really annoys me.
- 44:29Speaker 4: I get where you're coming from. Sort of related to that.
- 44:31Speaker 4: I think I either said on this show or maybe
- 44:34Speaker 4: on the movie Up with Molton Davis, but available in
- 44:37Speaker 4: your feed when you're thinking about ways to fix something,
- 44:42Speaker 4: and we've done this a fair bit with The Simpsons,
- 44:44Speaker 4: South Back and all manner of other things, it's a
- 44:46Speaker 4: sign that you're watching an episode that's a little underpar
- 44:49Speaker 4: or a little undercooked. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I didn't
- 44:51Speaker 4: know with this. It's like I roll with it.
- 44:54Speaker 3: This kind of like classic just Simpson's opening, bart Mill
- 44:56Speaker 3: has doing something silly, Yeah, over the.
- 44:59Speaker 4: Top kind of shenanigans that you can get away with
- 45:02Speaker 4: by virtue of it sort of being an animated show
- 45:04Speaker 4: as well. Yeah, I get the feeling we were watching,
- 45:06Speaker 4: like say Malcolm in the Middle and this happened, you'd go,
- 45:09Speaker 4: they gotta rebuild. That's cool.
- 45:12Speaker 3: But Skinner catches Milhouse, takes him away, and skinners Charmer's
- 45:17Speaker 3: heads in the toilet, so he thinks he's gonna get
- 45:18Speaker 3: pass him, but no, he can still see those shoes.
- 45:20Speaker 3: You recognizes that, what are they discolored hushpuppies? He thought, yeah,
- 45:23Speaker 3: they discolored hush puppies.
- 45:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 45:24Speaker 3: So they say we've got the how, the who, but
- 45:26Speaker 3: not the why. That is where Willy brings in the why.
- 45:28Speaker 3: There's fallen off, the the sign into his head and
- 45:31Speaker 3: Millhouse failed introduction to screwing, so they know it wasn't
- 45:34Speaker 3: just him. He's got to You've got to pick some
- 45:35Speaker 3: up there somewhere. And Charmers thinks there's a second man.
- 45:38Speaker 3: If he doesn't come clean, he's gonna get a week suspension,
- 45:40Speaker 3: which is a nickel nickel.
- 45:42Speaker 4: He says, second man, don't miss quote like we know
- 45:46Speaker 4: you're the second fun man, a fun man in Second Gunman,
- 45:49Speaker 4: which I think is I thought that was a pretty
- 45:51Speaker 4: neig gag as well.
- 45:52Speaker 3: And he says you're gonna miss Taco Wednesdays as well,
- 45:54Speaker 3: and Skinner explains to the ingredients and I was like,
- 45:56Speaker 3: that's the best way to rub it in, all the ingredients.
- 46:00Speaker 4: So we've been talking about food. It makes me feel happy.
- 46:03Speaker 4: Oh we wrap this up. Now I can go wrap
- 46:06Speaker 4: something up.
- 46:07Speaker 3: Okay, burritos, wrap yourself up in your udy and eat

- 46:48Speaker 3: bar outside the door and he's like, nah, not gonna happen.
- 46:50Speaker 3: So they say, take him away.
- 46:53Speaker 2: I'll never tell.
- 46:54Speaker 4: Consider yourself suspended, mister Willie. Take him to the big
- 46:58Speaker 4: house where he lives. Let's go a lot. Suspended by
- 47:05Speaker 4: you working? Were you ever suspended from school? Never? Suspended?
- 47:11Speaker 4: I had attention once and it was because yeah, and
- 47:14Speaker 4: it was because it.
- 47:15Speaker 3: Was after school, after school, after school detention that was
- 47:17Speaker 3: the worst, like lunchtime attention. It's like, well, we're gonna
- 47:20Speaker 3: sit after school, was like, fuck, I'm missing power Rags.
- 47:25Speaker 4: Also, yeah, if you're not home, and I was like,
- 47:28Speaker 4: why you're late. Don't got detention. You've actually got a
- 47:32Speaker 4: sort of cop to it to.
- 47:33Speaker 3: It's one of those detentions though, where teachers like, technically,
- 47:36Speaker 3: I don't really think you've done all that wrong, but
- 47:38Speaker 3: because you were part of this, you have to be
- 47:39Speaker 3: part of the detention. So he was one of my
- 47:41Speaker 3: friends were getting beaten up. I joined in to protect
- 47:44Speaker 3: my friend. Because I intervened, I then too had to
- 47:47Speaker 3: be part of the problem.
- 47:48Speaker 4: You're part of the skirmish. Yes, yeah, yeah, I was
- 47:52Speaker 4: never suspended too much of a goody goody, but oh yeah.
- 47:55Speaker 4: I always thought, oh, I think I knew maybe one
- 47:57Speaker 4: or two people who had been suspended that weren't necessarily
- 48:00Speaker 4: my friends are usually like the bad boys that I
- 48:02Speaker 4: was scared of, or you know, my girl who was
- 48:03Speaker 4: busted smoking or something like that. But it almost seemed
- 48:06Speaker 4: like the hugest deal. I remember one kid in particular,
- 48:11Speaker 4: who I think it either was about to could spend
- 48:13Speaker 4: it or even get expelled. God, it was like Shindler's
- 48:16Speaker 4: list in But what I mean, we knew he was
- 48:22Speaker 4: a screw up, a mess up. But at the same
- 48:25Speaker 4: time that seems so extreme. You ruined his life. He's
- 48:29Speaker 4: about fourteen, or it's with hindsight and red accint of
- 48:35Speaker 4: going better without him. I imagine the teachers just like,
- 48:40Speaker 4: once we remove this person from the equation, everything's just
- 48:43Speaker 4: going to run so much smoother. They're just incredibly disruptive, disrespectful,
- 48:47Speaker 4: all this kind of stuff. But yeah, imagine this age
- 48:50Speaker 4: like suspension, just feel like, oh my god, like a
- 48:52Speaker 4: death sentence or suspended boy walking. Yeah, very much so.
- 48:56Speaker 4: I mean, it's how they present it, and that's how
- 48:58Speaker 4: it would feel at that age.
- 48:59Speaker 3: What does Skinner say, take him to the big house
- 49:02Speaker 3: where he lives? Nelson hand gestures the haha, what's that
- 49:07Speaker 3: reference to? Is there a film where someone does that sign?
- 49:10Speaker 4: That's a really good question. I'm not sure because it
- 49:12Speaker 4: was too it's it's too unusual. Yeah, not too specific
- 49:17Speaker 4: to not be. So what's the call?
- 49:19Speaker 3: What's the call when you get in the march? Is
- 49:20Speaker 3: it the well the death March or the Death Walk?
- 49:23Speaker 3: What's the movie is called the Green Mark? But yeah,
- 49:26Speaker 3: but but was that a green mile reference there.
- 49:30Speaker 4: Ahead of the walk?
- 49:31Speaker 3: Does it American what is American something which called a
- 49:35Speaker 3: s L A s L Yeah, I can't really there's
- 49:38Speaker 3: going to be a reference to something. Let us not
- 49:40Speaker 3: listen is mail bag of fourfignscap dot com dot you.
- 49:43Speaker 3: We'll give you a two thumbs up.
- 49:44Speaker 4: I say, this is we wholly planned this. This is
- 49:48Speaker 4: a nice bit of interactivity for the podcast, as opposed
- 49:50Speaker 4: to just not doing.
- 49:51Speaker 3: Our research and make sure that you send you questions
- 49:52Speaker 3: through because are we going to do recording our mail
- 49:54Speaker 3: bag episode? So mail bak A four five this gap
- 49:56Speaker 3: dot com dot au send them through a s A P.
- 50:00Speaker 3: But we're now at home, and Milhouse says, because Bart
- 50:02Speaker 3: goes to visit him through the window, he's annoyed that
- 50:04Speaker 3: he's been suspended, and he's also granted as well, so
- 50:06Speaker 3: we can't leave the house either, and now he's stuck
- 50:08Speaker 3: at homelesstem to Kirk Yell at Mad Money with Jim Kramer,
- 50:10Speaker 3: you said textucks with bulletproof, which.
- 50:12Speaker 4: I too thought, by the way, not to tell the
- 50:17Speaker 4: makers of the Simpsons how to do their job, although
- 50:18Speaker 4: we do that a lot. I had the feeling you
- 50:20Speaker 4: didn't need to cut to Kurt. You didn't need to
- 50:22Speaker 4: cut to him looking at the team. Kirk, I said,
- 50:25Speaker 4: Kirk right, he said, Kurt did I I've got no
- 50:28Speaker 4: bar on the brain or Kurt Russ on the brain.
- 50:31Speaker 4: Lways they wrestle inside me. I get the feeling now.
- 50:33Speaker 4: It just would have been better if you just heard
- 50:35Speaker 4: him yelling at the TV, as opposed to cutting to
- 50:37Speaker 4: him doing it. I felt like a very family guy
- 50:39Speaker 4: s cutaway, didn't it. It did a bit, yeah, and
- 50:42Speaker 4: just hearing like he gets bad and I didn't think
- 50:46Speaker 4: it was their bad. But at the same time, I
- 50:48Speaker 4: get what you're saying. Yeah, I just would have been
- 50:50Speaker 4: funny if you have Millhouse like rolling Eyes. I was like, oh,
- 50:54Speaker 4: actually here, like you said, dark starts with a ballot
- 50:57Speaker 4: bro Yeah.
- 50:59Speaker 3: Homer now thinks that, oh he's taken, but oh, he
- 51:01Speaker 3: says the Millhouse, I'm gonna be here every day. And
- 51:03Speaker 3: he's like, thank you, you're a true friend, blah blah blah.
- 51:05Speaker 3: And they're driving away and Homer thinks that Millhouse is
- 51:08Speaker 3: the bad influence. I think he's this albato kid. And
- 51:11Speaker 3: then he drops him off at the retirement castle whilst
- 51:13Speaker 3: he has a nap around the corner. I like the
- 51:15Speaker 3: detail of him taking off his pants before he goes
- 51:17Speaker 3: to sleep. I was like, that's that's the king right there,
- 51:21Speaker 3: taking your pants to go over Nat.
- 51:25Speaker 4: I get where you're going. And I actually do think
- 51:27Speaker 4: that was a pretty funny moment in here. It's true there,
- 51:30Speaker 4: it's like, I haven't got the time for this shit.
- 51:31Speaker 4: You go do it.
- 51:32Speaker 3: But Bart's been it for ten minutes. It feels like
- 51:34Speaker 3: seven hours and kid years or whatever. Then the girl
- 51:36Speaker 3: who doesn't recoil at the sight of all the old
- 51:38Speaker 3: people arrives and Bart is immediately smitt and he sees
- 51:40Speaker 3: Jenny and she's brought cookies.
- 51:42Speaker 4: Hi, guys. I brought cookies. Chocolate chip for Donald Low,
- 51:48Speaker 4: sodium for Abe, not made by immigrants for Sam, and
- 51:53Speaker 4: imaginary for Major Preston. With this cooking, I can buy
- 51:57Speaker 4: back Private O Malley from the Zulus.
- 52:00Speaker 1: I think it is so cool what you're doing. So
- 52:03Speaker 1: what's the gag? You put xlax and the cookies and
- 52:05Speaker 1: just sit back and watch the fireworks.
- 52:07Speaker 4: I would never do that, Oh right.
- 52:10Speaker 1: I was thinking of other things that are hilarious, like
- 52:13Speaker 1: things that you think are funny.
- 52:15Speaker 4: Yeah, those are funny.
- 52:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm Bart, I'm Jenny. She had more curves than
- 52:22Speaker 1: a hot wheels track. Well, she didn't yet, but she
- 52:24Speaker 1: would after puberty.
- 52:27Speaker 3: Do you know what curves are when you ten? But
- 52:31Speaker 3: it was a nice little because it's a little inner monologue.
- 52:34Speaker 3: Pad back out and she's old. He's like, Helen, was
- 52:36Speaker 3: I have for that's her aunt Bell, who dresses just alike.
- 52:40Speaker 3: So now Lisa is doing her social studies and the
- 52:43Speaker 3: topic is Springfield in fifty years. Oh so she does
- 52:46Speaker 3: a quick Google search and water's gone, people drink soap
- 52:49Speaker 3: world wore over, last drop of oil, last available parking space,
- 52:52Speaker 3: feel forever, and the last one pretty blank. Last polar
- 52:55Speaker 3: bear hangs ouf in prison. I was like, oh shit,
- 52:57Speaker 3: oh boy, yeah, not cool.
- 52:59Speaker 4: So she down just got a very morbid outlook on life.
- 53:02Speaker 3: But I'm thinking, Lisa, she didn't know all this already.
- 53:05Speaker 3: Does She always complained about global warming and everything.
- 53:07Speaker 4: That's true. But I guess getting pummeled with bad news
- 53:11Speaker 4: after bad news after bad news, it's just gonna it's
- 53:14Speaker 4: gonna heighten your anxiety and and I guess your depression
- 53:19Speaker 4: when you were in school in the seventies and they said,
- 53:22Speaker 4: what's the eighteen seventies, Yeah, what's gonna what's the we're
- 53:25Speaker 4: gonna be like in the future.
- 53:26Speaker 3: Was it flying cars? Was that the thing? I feel
- 53:29Speaker 3: like we've got to the probably like we're all going
- 53:31Speaker 3: probably not gonna have flying cars. Just that's that's going
- 53:33Speaker 3: to be a thousand years plus in the future. We're
- 53:35Speaker 3: gonna be flying around in cars anytime soon.
- 53:38Speaker 4: No, I don't think we. I think our version of
- 53:42Speaker 4: flying cars now is drones and all that kind of stuff.
- 53:45Speaker 4: And you know where it's like, no, Douggie the pizza
- 53:47Speaker 4: Boy is not going to deliver your you know, large caprachosa.
- 53:51Speaker 4: It's gonna be Dougy the pizza Bot. It's gonna be
- 53:53Speaker 4: Dodugy the Pizza Bot or Duggy the Pizza drone droning
- 53:55Speaker 4: the pizza boy pizza. But let's just go don't you
- 54:01Speaker 4: love how that idea revolving in real time? What's your
- 54:05Speaker 4: tune in for? People have paid big money to do
- 54:07Speaker 4: what we just did they do It's only when I
- 54:14Speaker 4: was at school, and in yes, I was in primary
- 54:18Speaker 4: school in the seventies. Let's say secondary school in the
- 54:20Speaker 4: eighties feels a little less ancient, not really. I think
- 54:24Speaker 4: we were still quite optimistic about the future in a
- 54:27Speaker 4: lot of ways, and flying cars and jet packs is
- 54:30Speaker 4: kind of the shorthand for that.
- 54:31Speaker 3: Right back to the future a bit. Yeah, it's like
- 54:34Speaker 3: the world in twenty fifty is going to be like this.
- 54:36Speaker 4: Yeah. Oh you know, you can your car's going to
- 54:39Speaker 4: be powered by the little mister nuclear in the back
- 54:42Speaker 4: or what hoverboards? Yeah, or you know, I'm going to
- 54:45Speaker 4: rummage through your trash get a banana peel bush. Now
- 54:48Speaker 4: we've got a full tank of energy. You know, it's like, oh, yeah,
- 54:51Speaker 4: that'll that'll be good. Yeah, not too bad. Yeah, we
- 54:54Speaker 4: weren't really concerned about things like global warming or anything
- 54:58Speaker 4: like that. You go to too busy fucking everything up. Well,
- 55:01Speaker 4: that's true. We were creating the problem rather than actually
- 55:03Speaker 4: thinking about potential problems down the line.
- 55:05Speaker 3: So that's next week's problem, correct, Yeah, at least it's
- 55:10Speaker 3: in a bad state. Now she's seen how the word's
- 55:11Speaker 3: going to be and she's she's not a fan because
- 55:13Speaker 3: you know, the internet never lives. This is exactly what's
- 55:15Speaker 3: gonna happen to the world. People drinking soap, oh very much.
- 55:18Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 55:19Speaker 3: But we're now at school and Bart tells Nelson about Jenny,
- 55:21Speaker 3: the fifth grade girl. So she's a bit older, and
- 55:23Speaker 3: he says he feels like a better person when he's
- 55:24Speaker 3: around her, and Nelson says, yeah, to claim her as
- 55:27Speaker 3: your own by punching her in the arm or put
- 55:29Speaker 3: some gum in her hair, and he sees her pushing
- 55:31Speaker 3: a kid on the swing whilst Nelson saying puncho, puncho,
- 55:34Speaker 3: which actually pays off at the end, and that punch
- 55:36Speaker 3: a bit.
- 55:36Speaker 4: I kind of like Nelson being a bro in this way,
- 55:39Speaker 4: and I mean bro in the most positive sense, like
- 55:41Speaker 4: being being your boy.
- 55:43Speaker 3: And him and Barter friends, aren't they but the whole
- 55:46Speaker 3: he isn't really aligned with the bullies anymore, is he?
- 55:48Speaker 4: The bullies are a trio now, Yeah, Nelson's kind of
- 55:51Speaker 4: a law unto himself.
- 55:52Speaker 3: It's hard for him to go back to being that bully. Really,
- 55:55Speaker 3: he can be more of the.
- 55:58Speaker 4: Kind of guy.
- 55:58Speaker 3: But he's not really beating it up. I don't think
- 56:00Speaker 3: anymore than from my memory anyway, because it's just not
- 56:02Speaker 3: who he is.
- 56:03Speaker 4: He's now. It's almost like he's one of the kids.
- 56:05Speaker 4: He's too powerful to bother with just near bullying. He's like,
- 56:09Speaker 4: I don't need to I know.
- 56:11Speaker 3: On the alpha of the playground, we've seen that, we've
- 56:14Speaker 3: seen too much of the emotional side of Nelson now
- 56:16Speaker 3: to buy that anyway.
- 56:16Speaker 4: That's correct. Yeah, but I liked him being sort of
- 56:19Speaker 4: you know, bar it's boy here, and then the whole
- 56:21Speaker 4: thing about offering extra misguided romantic advice. But then I
- 56:27Speaker 4: put some gum in here. T two, you might get lucky.
- 56:30Speaker 4: That's a condom reference, right, correct. But I also thought
- 56:34Speaker 4: that was just really sweet. Yeah, it's like, oh, he's
- 56:36Speaker 4: looking at for him, Yeah, but he's not.
- 56:38Speaker 3: He doesn't punch Jenny insteady and suggests a picnic date
- 56:41Speaker 3: with his special PB and Jay double no PB double
- 56:45Speaker 3: J What it is? Yes, yes, she says, yep, sure,
- 56:48Speaker 3: let's do this date, but then tells Willie he has
- 56:50Speaker 3: a girlfriend, and he says, I've got one. Two she's
- 56:52Speaker 3: a bikini model from Sweden. Go out, it's true and
- 56:56Speaker 3: joking with my job's.
- 56:58Speaker 4: Actually come out. They can side for it.
- 57:01Speaker 3: Oh and now it's time for the reports on fifty years.
- 57:06Speaker 3: This could always been my favorite moments. Ralph saying vacuums
- 57:09Speaker 3: will be quiet and not scary, and I'm like, you
- 57:10Speaker 3: know what, it's twenty twenty five. Vacuums are still fucking loud.
- 57:13Speaker 3: Oh yeah, Nicole bought a robo vacuum right. Oh, not
- 57:18Speaker 3: the rumba, but whatever it is. I know she spent
- 57:21Speaker 3: six hundred bucks. We had a gift card from Harvey
- 57:23Speaker 3: Norman because we bought the lambs.
- 57:24Speaker 4: Sweet. They gave us money back on the gift card.
- 57:26Speaker 4: I am. I understand the whole Harvey Norman gift card
- 57:31Speaker 4: thing in theory, but it just seems like so odd.
- 57:34Speaker 4: It's like, buy a bunch of stuff, we'll give you
- 57:37Speaker 4: some stuff back, but you got to spend it with us. Yeah, yeah,
- 57:40Speaker 4: I mean it. I said that.
- 57:42Speaker 3: The way they get you though, so we we gain
- 57:45Speaker 3: the system. We gain the system, right, because the way
- 57:48Speaker 3: they get most people is sixty months interest free or
- 57:50Speaker 3: whatever it is, right, and then you only have to
- 57:53Speaker 3: pay a certain fee each month. There's no interest. It's
- 57:56Speaker 3: just you go have it paid up by sixty months.
- 57:58Speaker 3: By the end of it, you will have paid six
- 58:00Speaker 3: hundred dollars in fees. Then you get this. But we
- 58:03Speaker 3: just paid for the couch outright. We put it on
- 58:06Speaker 3: the after pay or whatever like that. That's of our
- 58:08Speaker 3: latitude latitude, right, yes, and then that week we just
- 58:11Speaker 3: paid it all straight away. Which means we also get
- 58:13Speaker 3: our gift card. So we paid it outright and then
- 58:16Speaker 3: we got the six hundred dollars.
- 58:18Speaker 4: So wet.
- 58:18Speaker 3: We essentially got six hundred dollars free money. But if
- 58:21Speaker 3: you wait too, that's pretty good. But if you wait
- 58:23Speaker 3: to the end of it, you've essentially paid all that
- 58:25Speaker 3: money in fees.
- 58:26Speaker 4: Well that's correct.
- 58:26Speaker 3: Yeah, So if you can afford to do it, still
- 58:28Speaker 3: sign up to the plan right so that you get
- 58:31Speaker 3: the gift card and then just pay it out right
- 58:33Speaker 3: that week and then it's all paid off, it's finished,
- 58:35Speaker 3: and you get your gift card.
- 58:36Speaker 4: See I missed that step in the middle, because you see,
- 58:39Speaker 4: I'm not as saddy as Dan though that is a
- 58:41Speaker 4: very clever consumer. He's always on the lookout anyway to
- 58:44Speaker 4: save a buck, buddy. Oh absolutely, So essentially we got
- 58:46Speaker 4: six hundred dollars for free money. No, that's fantastic, because
- 58:48Speaker 4: I mean I too bought something from a friend of
- 58:52Speaker 4: the pod Harving Norman laptop and put it on that
- 58:56Speaker 4: latitude thing and I'm like, hey, yeah, I got time
- 58:58Speaker 4: to pay this off. Fantastic. Didn't read the fine print,
- 59:01Speaker 4: so it's like, oh, okay, so no interest, but there
- 59:04Speaker 4: is that fee.
- 59:05Speaker 3: I think it was sixty months in just free ten
- 59:07Speaker 3: dollars a month fee. So after sixty months, paid six
- 59:10Speaker 3: hundred dollars.
- 59:11Speaker 4: That's great. I mean I ended up paying it off
- 59:14Speaker 4: before all that kind of stuff. But at the same time,
- 59:15Speaker 4: I am paying that fee and not that much in
- 59:18Speaker 4: the overall scheme of things over a certain amount of time.
- 59:21Speaker 4: But you know, you're right, it adds up and then
- 59:22Speaker 4: you look at it go, Okay, this guy's a bit
- 59:24Speaker 4: more money than they should. There could have been may money.
- 59:27Speaker 4: But you wanted that laptop?
- 59:28Speaker 3: Now, well I needed it according to you, this is
- 59:33Speaker 3: john you did, though I really not according to me,
- 59:38Speaker 3: according to everybody, didn't your mate come over and he
- 59:41Speaker 3: was like, yeah, this is fucked bite.
- 59:42Speaker 4: I took it to Savvy Steve the computer expert. He's like, yeah,
- 59:46Speaker 4: this is a this is about as powerful as millhouse. Yeah,
- 59:52Speaker 4: this is during the COVID times when you know, Dan
- 59:54Speaker 4: and I weren't in the same room. Have you trying
- 59:57Speaker 4: to do a podcast? It was like, guy, you're even
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: more in articulate than usual. Is your brain on the computer?
- 1:00:07Speaker 4: But yeah, but robo.
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: She bought the robo vacuum with her with a gift
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: card and she put it on and it's so so
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: what it does is it goes around, right, And I've
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: always been skeptical on them, and I'm still skeptical.
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: It's easy minutes.
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: Spend five minutes as vacuuting the house, right, But this
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: thing's going around and then it has to go and
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: empty yourself. So it goes back to its base and
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: just goes.
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: It takes like a vacuum. Shit.
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm trying to watch TV here. This thing takes
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: so long to vacuum everything. Most people say I don't
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: when I'm at work, I'm like, that's fine, right, but
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: I wait from home. It's me the fact you go
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: to the office, I don't.
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: Well, even with say a top of the line vacuum
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: cleaner like my good mate Dyson that I have. Wow,
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: this is really you know, suck up the dust that's
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: all over my place. But the same time, you and
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: I are cat men. Now, yeah, cats hate them, cats hate.
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: One cat doesn't give a ship one cat. We have
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: Coco right by the vacuum one.
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: Oh, they give a ship, They give a ship over.
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: Sometimes you know, she's on the couch or she's in
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: the way. I'll try to like, if I touch that
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: cat whilst the vacuum is on, She goes skits cats man.
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: They don't like vacuum. And here in lies the irony
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: that the reason it's messy, dear fur, is mostly what
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: I'm vacuum out. Yeah, hey, but we now return you
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: to the good, the bat, the drugly already in progress.
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: Things look at all messy and disheveled. Lisa here, she's
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: not looking at a good way at all. She goes
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: on the rant of how the world is basically over
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: and the kids are just like shocked.
- 1:01:48Speaker 4: There absolute silence. One kid jumps out the window.
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: Did one start crying or just one? Just I think
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: Ralph starts crying, jump out and in skins there's office.
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: You know, as you said earlier, your appurst was either
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: a sign of emotional imbalance or a passionate response to
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: a sobering truth. And he suggests therapy, and she says,
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: what's the point. You know we're all gonna be ending.
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: It's gonna be ending soon anyway, And he says, cause
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: I need you to return to Sports Illustrated.
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: Magazine or something. Yeah, I didn't get that at all.
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: No, they can putting things in my bag, and I'm like,
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: huh whatever. Went out on the date with Jenny and
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: Bart and she asks how else but makes the world
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: a better place? And he says he works with mentally
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: challenged a mentally challenged guy, and he sees Homer. He says,
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: there he is there. She goes seems pretty high functioning,
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: and we get the argument with the pond.
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: Don't check your fist to me. Look, man, I don't
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: want any trouble. Come on, just chake my wallet, leave
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: me alone. Okay.
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: I went out on the rowboat and they see the bullies.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: Just be Dick's teach these ducklings.
- 1:02:48Speaker 4: This is pretty evil.
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: Yeah, it is evil indeed. Yeah, And she asked Bart
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: to rescue the ducklings. So he jumps off the boat,
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: start swimming over there, questions to himself, why am I
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: doing this? Turns around, Oh yeah, tail, he asked the guys.
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: Yes, look guys, we're all men here. I'm trying to
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: impress this girl. Do you reckon? You could like not
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: do it not?
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: These ducklings, like we have the bea job a little
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: bit and he's like okay, So he takes on the on.
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: The takes one for the team. Gets a little bit
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: beaten up, and she said, oh my god, bar these
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: ducks you have magnificent You were that stopped biting you.
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: So basically he's one are over. That's also when we
- 1:03:18Speaker 4: get to see Shorna, because I said, we got the
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: beach up a little bit, because.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: Either the ducks suffers or the kid does, or none
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: of you skeet nothing from Shanna.
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: I'm Shana. I love that. Something short. I'm sure so good.
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: I don't know why I like that. I thought you
- 1:03:40Speaker 4: would have hated the shorty coatter. I'm glad you liked it.
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: Oh is fantastic. We've all known as short in our lives.
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: Oh yeah, oh yeah, I know you're bad news. You
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: are bad news, and I am doom scrolling.
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: Were now the pediatric mental wellness group. When your kid's
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: gone cuckoo and the psychiatrist, whoever it is there, thinks
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: that least are suffering from environment related despair, and it
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: says it's even worst when you know what's got a name,
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: And she says, don't worry at Lisa will be fine
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: after years of expensive treatment and have a new drug
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: called ignoratoll to ignore all the problems in the world,
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: and Marge's concerned a least is a little bit too
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: young for happy pills. Bhama says, we've done all we can.
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: We've come to an appointment in the middle of the day.
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: So then LISAA says, go ahead, numb me. And I'm like,
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: that's very unlike Lisa.
- 1:04:30Speaker 4: So if we're being generous, we could say, oh, well,
- 1:04:33Speaker 4: you know this is she's in a depressed state, that
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: kind of a response to a situation so bad. It's like, look,
- 1:04:42Speaker 4: I can't talk my way out of this, or I
- 1:04:43Speaker 4: can't feel my way out of this. Just numb me. Yeah,
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: it's a reaction that a lot of people have. They
- 1:04:49Speaker 4: just get numb to the crisis of the world, the
- 1:04:52Speaker 4: multiple crises of the world.
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: But then starts doing the dishes for Marge. And because
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: the angle is he wants marsh to tell Jenny that
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: this is the kind of thing he does all the time.
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: And Homus has a line here and the delivery from
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: Dan was so spot on that you can't tell me
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: he's being sarcastic or he's just an idiot. Where he goes, yeah,
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: bus boys get all the chicks. So is Homer just
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: an idiot? And he thinks that or is he just
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: being sarcastic towards Bart. I mean it's more than he's
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: an idiot, right, I was leaning more towards sarcasm because
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: they played him have to be such an idiot in
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: this episode.
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: That's why lead towards that. Yeah, but it's not out
- 1:05:25Speaker 4: of character for Homer to say something like that, And
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: the sarcasting was like, oh, yeah, right, yeah, bus boys
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: get all the chicks.
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: Yeah, but now the bus arrives and they're off to
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: school where they're going to prepare their little minds for
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: a future we'll never see. It sounds like someone's going
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: a case of the mondays, a case of the Mondays.
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: I'm having one right now, that's Tuesday.
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: And Hope gives her a pill. She takes it on
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: the bus. I'm going to dizzyland, and then we have
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: What a Wonderful.
- 1:05:49Speaker 4: World played some by Louis Armstrong. Yeah, one of the
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: most iconic songs of all time.
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: I think it's certainly it's such as for what the
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: song means, right, it's the perfect song to play over
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: the top of shit going wrong. Though it's been used
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: so many times in that sense, I think it was.
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: It's multipurpose in that regard. You're right, who's who did
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: the app? Who used to do that? Michael Moore? Right,
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: the shoot the American Gun was they did.
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: Roger and Me bowling for Coluine for Columbine, and they
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: played a clip of montage with all people shooting themselves
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: on live TV and whatnot, and that song's playing over
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: the top, and it just stuck with me.
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: Oh sure, yeah, his the thing. I mean, look, I'm forgiving.
- 1:06:24Speaker 4: I can't remember exactly when Louis Armstrong first recorded and
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: released What a Wonderful World, but it became very, very
- 1:06:30Speaker 4: big where with the release of Good Morning Vietnam. Oh
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: really is that? It's on that similar soundtrack of that.
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: That soundtrack was everywhere back in I want to say,
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: a nineteen eighty seven that was a hugely popular movie.
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: It's called Good Morning Vietnam. Good Morning Vietnam. My tribute
- 1:06:49Speaker 4: to the like great Robin. But it really it not
- 1:06:53Speaker 4: not necessarily reinvigorated Robin Williams's career, but it was like, oh,
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: this is what this guy does, and he does it
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: better than anybody else. Let's let him do this. In
- 1:07:02Speaker 4: various ways. From this, the Dead Party society who dressing
- 1:07:05Speaker 4: up a drag correct, yes, and then he was Patch Adams.
- 1:07:09Speaker 4: It was Geenie as well. He did, he had a
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: street there. He was hooked Jamuji.
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: Oh oh no. Robin Williams is like the movie staff
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: for nineties kids. It's like he was like our dad.
- 1:07:18Speaker 4: Absolutely, and Good Morning Vietnam was the thing that really
- 1:07:21Speaker 4: just sort of put the foot to the floor. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: I mean he'd been in a bunch of he was
- 1:07:25Speaker 4: well known from walkan Mindian, from his stand up and
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: all that kind of stuff, and he'd been in a
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: bunch of movies, but he never really found anything that
- 1:07:31Speaker 4: quite fit. It's just let him be him, didn't it.
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: It just let him be him. Yeah, I mean good
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: hunting shit. Oh yeah, absolutely. The guys are incredibly talented actor,
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: but yeah, this was just like, I don't think it's
- 1:07:44Speaker 4: a very accurate representation the guy he was, of the
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: real life guy that he was actually playing, but as
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: an entertainment vehicle, it's like, oh yeah, good morning th
- 1:07:53Speaker 4: damb and What a Wonderful World was really sort of
- 1:07:56Speaker 4: the breakout song of the soundtrack. The sound is very
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: much you know, greatest hits of the fifties, sixties, et cetera,
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: et cetera, et cetera. But you go to a wedding
- 1:08:06Speaker 4: and what a wonderful worl would play. You go to
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: a nightclub and they'd kind of close out really with
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: what a wonderful World in preclusing to unfortunity. But you know,
- 1:08:17Speaker 4: it's like, oh, here's a nice way to send people
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: out at the end of the evening. You may not
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: even feel that bad if you didn't pick up that night,
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: just like, oh, what a wonderful world? And then but
- 1:08:26Speaker 4: did You're right? It becomes multipurpers like, oh, this song
- 1:08:29Speaker 4: makes me feel so good a wonderful time? Yeah? Is
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: it only Louis Armstrong posits that we're living in a
- 1:08:40Speaker 4: wonderful world? What this use of the song presupposed is
- 1:08:43Speaker 4: maybe it's not so Yeah again, very effective use of
- 1:08:51Speaker 4: it here.

- 1:09:25Speaker 3: vomiting and things like that, and she's just seeing they're
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: all just.
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: Bringing up the smiley face, the smiley face, yeah, and
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: the and the iconic smiley face yeah, the forest cup
- 1:09:33Speaker 4: smiley for forest gum smiley face yeah.
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: But then sets the table. I don't know how easy
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: this was. I've just done all this time instead of
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: throwing all those tangents. And I'm like this as a parent.
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: Now I watch she's going, if only kid's new. You
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: say to a kid, it's time to put your shoes on.
- 1:09:51Speaker 4: Just put your freaking shoes on. What is it a
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: big deal forgive the pony mouth kid the shite hard?
- 1:09:58Speaker 4: Just do it? Look, why are you trip?
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: And you're you've become every boy? And mother dreams of
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: a girl and Jenny is surprised by that the fact
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: that the special man that Bart works with is actually
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: his father and we get the squashed in the fly
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: with his head and I was like, ah.
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: Whatever to quote the title of the Great Anam Sandler,
- 1:10:19Speaker 4: Jennifer Andison Romcom, just go with it. Yeah.
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: Then she says, or your family like this, and he
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: sees Lisa with the smiley faces. She's in her own world.
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: Yeah, she's zoned out.
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: I did like that bit though, of Wigan being shot
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: and the blood pouring out, but it's just it's just
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: the smiley face. The margin's impressed with with what Jenny
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: has done with Bart.
- 1:10:35Speaker 4: I think.
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: I think Barta's a combination of Habitat for Humanity and
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: the Jonas brothers, and nothing can ever change my opinion
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: of him. Doorbell, lightning starts running outside. You know something's happening.
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: Oh wait, it's Millhouse.
- 1:10:46Speaker 4: Because I haven't atually acknowledged him since that's true, but
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: not once watching this did I go what about Millhouse?
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: We should always be thinking where's Millhouse? Yeah? I too,
- 1:10:55Speaker 4: As of you forgot about Millhouse, so it's easy for
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: Bart to forget about him as well. And then Bart.
- 1:10:59Speaker 3: Says, here, we don't have any money, go away, and
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: he's trying to clearly he is putting on this act.
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: You know, Yeah, the real sort of Bart was coming
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: out a little bit.
- 1:11:06Speaker 4: Not now, mil Yeah, that kind of Yeah.
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: Then he hears a doorbell again, so he storms off
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: and it's Millhouse asking why he never visited him, and
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: Bart says, has been busy, and then he realizes that
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: Jenny has replaced him.
- 1:11:16Speaker 4: Well doesn't seen him again? Oh, I see what's going
- 1:11:18Speaker 4: on here? Wait a minute, don't my glasses are fogged up.
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: It's actually Jenny. Milhouse says here, I've learned a few
- 1:11:24Speaker 4: new swear words from my injured uncle. And Bart says,
- 1:11:27Speaker 4: you know, only by knowing them can you prevent little
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: kids from saying them? Yeah. He then tells Milhouse, look, dude,
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: I'm a change man. Now. I can't be doing this anymore. Milhouse.
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: Real best friends often don't speak for years at a time,
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: like John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. Just because you saw
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: one episode of one mini series doesn't mean you get
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: to use it as a web.
- 1:11:49Speaker 4: I look it up.
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: It's the mini series John Adams, Yeah, starring Paul Jim
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: or Jim Might from two thousand and eight. But then
- 1:11:55Speaker 3: says he needs to keep all these dark past hidden
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: and Jenny sends him a text saying that missus hi
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: babba bash, she's just being your cutesye, and then he says,
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: I guess you found your Abigail Adams.
- 1:12:04Speaker 4: Who.
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: These are the kind of lines that when you're watching
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: The Simpsons in the Golden Near as a kid, you
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: had no idea what it was, but he just like
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: it must be something, right, and he sort of went
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: with it, and as you got old, you're like, oh,
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: the referencing that. Yeah, now, this little bit here felt
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: like classic Simpsons.
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: It really did. And whether you know, it's a combination
- 1:12:20Speaker 4: of I don't quite get this, but it's delivered with
- 1:12:23Speaker 4: such confidence. It's funny. But yeah, these guys must know
- 1:12:27Speaker 4: something that I don't. Yeah, and obviously pretend to laugh. Yeah,
- 1:12:30Speaker 4: pretty much, But yeah, I wholly agree with you. I mean,
- 1:12:33Speaker 4: that was just a great line about just because you
- 1:12:35Speaker 4: watched one episode of that and then just watched the
- 1:12:38Speaker 4: one episode and doesn't know it else. That's the payoff. Yeah,
- 1:12:40Speaker 4: it's so good. It was very very good. Indeed.
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: Yeah, Milhousen says he's the fifth wheel on the bicycle
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: with training wheels, and he says next time he may
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: not be able to bite his tongue because it's difficult
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: as he tries to show. Then it's time for the
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: church bake sale, and Flanders asked reverend if you want
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: some of his Devil's food cake, but he says, is
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: it actually Devil's food cake? No, it's actually angel food
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: with chuck on top of Flanner's always be lying about
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: his food. Two a larmtops it's the one floor, yeah,
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: but sees Jenny. He apologizes for being late. He didn't
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: realize that the oven had to be on to bake stuff.
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: And Millhouse arrives as well, and he says he's got
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: his face his favorite Bible section or something, Revelations. That's right, yeah, yeah,
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: but she said, oh that's mine too, he says. And
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: she says to Bart, maybe we should bring Millhouse on
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: our trip to Juice Country, and Bart says no, because
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: you'll spill everything. It's a nice play on wine country, why,
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: of course, But he says, you'll spill everything, not juice,
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: not the secrets, of course, and Milhouse agrees, but he
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: says he'll see them soon, then walks backwards, slowly avoiding everything,
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: goes over the sea saw then crashes into what can
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: the shum of trash cans or something like that, and
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: Jenny says, Bart looks tense going to cookie and as
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: he's he goes to the cookies, the world Millhouse's face.
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: Then we get the plate and it says we used
- 1:13:52Speaker 3: to be friends, number six in a series. Now, these
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: remind me of a series of Simpson's plates from the nineties.
- 1:13:58Speaker 4: Right, we'll tell me what. I've got one of them.
- 1:14:00Speaker 4: There's actually six in the set, and they are like
- 1:14:03Speaker 4: twenty four carrot gold, and they just got that really
- 1:14:06Speaker 4: early nineties design to them, so they think the first
- 1:14:09Speaker 4: one came out at ninety and then each ye they
- 1:14:10Speaker 4: have released a different one. We've actually got them up
- 1:14:12Speaker 4: here so you can see them. I saved them here.
- 1:14:14Speaker 4: Here's someone selling them on eBay for nine hundred dollars
- 1:14:17Speaker 4: for the whole set. You did say, twenty four carrod gold.
- 1:14:20Speaker 4: I mean, who made these? Donald Trump?
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: Yeah they are there, gives a look, So that's just
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: the designer. They're just really nice looking Simpsons glasses. Yeah, plates, sorry,
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: plates glasses. Each plate is.
- 1:14:33Speaker 4: A like a little document of authenticity there as well.
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: Yeah, each little document, but each one or one of
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: them was just the Simpsons Family on the Couch, and
- 1:14:41Speaker 3: the other ones are sort of taken from moments from
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: season one one from season two the Three Eyed Fish.
- 1:14:46Speaker 3: The other ones are from the Call the Simpsons, Maggie
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: with the bear, We've got the Simpsons singing the Christmas
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: car at the end of the first episode, the Shock
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: Therapy one from episode three on one hours, and then
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: Lisa and Bleeding Games Murphy from Wunning Lisa playing sacks
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: on the bridge at right, and they're really lovely plates.
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: And when I saw that, I thought, what if there
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: was a reference to the old Simpsons plates number six
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: in the series, or just the fact that people collect
- 1:15:07Speaker 3: the plates.
- 1:15:09Speaker 4: I'm gonna go with people just collecting the plates. But
- 1:15:11Speaker 4: I like where your head's at.
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: Then we get don't worry be happy again, Simpsons walking
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: out that money for those those royalties. Indeed, yeah, and
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: he plays this is playing as Lisa is just sitting
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: there in her own little world, and she's about to
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: kiss a face which turns out to be Maggie holding
- 1:15:25Speaker 3: a fan and MAGGI.
- 1:15:26Speaker 4: Why are you trying to kill your sister? Look what
- 1:15:28Speaker 4: are you doing? She's zoned out, you know, she's disconnected
- 1:15:31Speaker 4: from reality.
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: Maggie. Maggie's holding the fan. Why are you trying to
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: kill your sister? She's pushing the fan towards her.
- 1:15:38Speaker 4: No, I mean that Lisa's sort just getting for realid
- 1:15:40Speaker 4: and not. Yeah, why why is Mackie trying to hurt her?
- 1:15:42Speaker 4: Because Meg's a baby.
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: Marja says that's it, and she throws them in the bin.
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: The dog eats them and he starts going towards the
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: fan as well. Then Bart says Millhouse or the Juice
- 1:15:52Speaker 3: Country that the aquarium, I think somewhere, And Bart says
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: Millhos shouldn't be here because when he's at sea little
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: he gets nosebleeds. She says that's fine. She says, no worry,
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: millh Has is fine. Then mil Has surprises them. He says,
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: I can't get nose bees when my heart's broken.
- 1:16:05Speaker 4: You can't blee out your nose when your heart's broken.
- 1:16:07Speaker 4: Good line.
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: But then tells him to stop being creepy, and he
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: points out the scared dolphin, and the dolphins says that
- 1:16:13Speaker 3: Bart made him swimming seven up and then Barta says, look,
- 1:16:16Speaker 3: I can't do this anymore. The pressure's got to He
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: gives it up and says, he comes clean, explains all
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: the various names that he's got before I.
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: Met you, I was Elbardo, Skinner's Bane, the Sultan of
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: spit Wise, the Dean of d Minus, the Ica run
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: the kid.
- 1:16:29Speaker 3: No, no, no, I like Skinner's Bane, Sultan's spit Ons.
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: It's kind of like the Babe Ruth. He's got all
- 1:16:35Speaker 3: these various names. The Sultan's swap.
- 1:16:37Speaker 4: Swat, that's a great one.
- 1:16:38Speaker 3: Yeah, And then she thinks the entire relationship has been
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: built on lies. He's like, no, it hasn't, just the
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: stuff I said, and she's thinking about it. You can
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: see it's going through a mind at a cust of bart crying,
- 1:16:48Speaker 3: she's she's dubbed him.
- 1:16:50Speaker 4: It is tough. I mean, Jenny's right in some regards.
- 1:16:53Speaker 4: I mean, he did misrepresent himself. But at the same time,
- 1:16:57Speaker 4: you know, I think you do see making an effort
- 1:17:00Speaker 4: that he's generally making the effort to improve, and he
- 1:17:02Speaker 4: is being improved by this external force by Jenny. But
- 1:17:06Speaker 4: also yeah, I mean he's got that feeling. As I
- 1:17:07Speaker 4: said earlier, it's like, wow, now I want to live
- 1:17:10Speaker 4: up to what this person thinks of me. And but yeah,
- 1:17:14Speaker 4: if it's built on that foundation, that flimsy foundation of lies,
- 1:17:17Speaker 4: and I'm sorry, it's just not going to end well,
- 1:17:18Speaker 4: and it does not in this case. But as Homer says,
- 1:17:20Speaker 4: girls come and go, but you always have your family.
- 1:17:22Speaker 4: They both broke out crying.
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: Bart is drinking his sorrows away with a five to
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: twelve ounce Shrek Berry blast. As we're saying, get ten
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: percent off if you answer the trivia question correctly if
- 1:17:32Speaker 3: any Shrek DVD except the first two at least it
- 1:17:36Speaker 3: has a randomly arise and she says she learned that
- 1:17:37Speaker 3: you can't wallow and despare you to just face things
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: as they are, take things as they come. And then
- 1:17:44Speaker 3: Bart buys ten dollars Roses that he was supposed to
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: hold for Lenny for his grandmother's grave, so instead he
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: takes the daft man's standy to his grandma's grave, and
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: she's probably appreciated that. He just basically says that, you know,
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: he's lost money because he invested in a condo and
- 1:17:57Speaker 3: they went bankrupt. Now that crane assits there thrusting every day.
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: Then it cuts to but apologizing to Millhouse, do you
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: think he's you're supposed to think he's going Jenny because
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: hes got the flowers, but no, it's actually the Millhouse,
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: and Millhouse says I was born for giving you bait
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: and switch. Yeah, and he says he'll never turn his
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: backage on him again and says punch him, punch him.
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: He does punch him a little bit, and then they
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: use his bonie kin to turn the school into an
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: ice drink.
- 1:18:19Speaker 4: The true romantic gesture. I mean, do you. I don't
- 1:18:23Speaker 4: punch Nicola only when she's out of line. She should
- 1:18:27Speaker 4: in the Mount Darby one of the best lines as
- 1:18:32Speaker 4: to your grandma. We're not condoning his action, disclaim her disclaimer.
- 1:18:37Speaker 4: But now earlier in the episode, did he actually sort
- 1:18:39Speaker 4: of give Jenny that we didn't he opted not see
- 1:18:42Speaker 4: but he actually does follow through with with milhou the house. Yeah,
- 1:18:46Speaker 4: true love. Yes, Yeah, it's actually well written this episode
- 1:18:51Speaker 4: in many aspects. Oh yeah, a lot of good construction.
- 1:18:53Speaker 4: That's trying to say.
- 1:18:55Speaker 3: It feels very same, same, the stories feel like they're
- 1:18:57Speaker 3: treading the same sort of like story, but they a
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: bit of a spin on it.
- 1:19:01Speaker 4: There's actual there's one might I say they put a
- 1:19:03Speaker 4: clock in it? Yeah, that's right.
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: Yeah, there's genuine emotion here, and there's payoffs to things
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: like the punching.
- 1:19:09Speaker 4: It's great set ups and payoffs.
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, even that line about the John Adams
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: doc the mini series that things are planted and then
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: they paid.
- 1:19:18Speaker 4: A middlely maybe just like thirty seconds later, but still yeah.
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: But overall, yeah, this was just I originally had in
- 1:19:26Speaker 3: my notes. This just feels very placeholder. It's just sort
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: of there. But reviewing it, I think I enjoyed more
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: reviewing it, Like the the motion behind the Bart and
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: Milhouse story was enough for me to give this one
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: of the thumbs up. I think it wasn't a standard
- 1:19:40Speaker 3: episode like it's forgettable.
- 1:19:41Speaker 4: It is forgettable. Yeh, I was never going to give
- 1:19:43Speaker 4: this a thumbs down. It's not a bad episode. Yeah.
- 1:19:46Speaker 4: My thumb was sort of like more in the mid section.
- 1:19:49Speaker 3: And it's fine. Yeah, it's like a huge thumbs up.
- 1:19:52Speaker 3: But it's like, there's nothing wrong with this one.
- 1:19:54Speaker 4: Yeah, thumbs aren't way up. They kind of it's all right,
- 1:19:58Speaker 4: what do we learn bomb? What did to learn from
- 1:20:00Speaker 4: this episode? I can actually attest this in real life.
- 1:20:03Speaker 4: Bus boys do get all the chicks. I will frequently
- 1:20:06Speaker 4: be over at Lose and she will have made a
- 1:20:09Speaker 4: nice in and of course I'll take care of the dishes.
- 1:20:11Speaker 4: She goes, We've got a dishwasher, like but certain things
- 1:20:14Speaker 4: don't go in the dish washer, so need the labels.
- 1:20:18Speaker 4: So I'm going to wash it this. I'm going to
- 1:20:20Speaker 4: wash it for you microwave nutsy. But yes, I can
- 1:20:25Speaker 4: test the bus boys do actually get all the chicks.
- 1:20:27Speaker 4: So I mean it's something I already knew. But it's
- 1:20:29Speaker 4: the chick that you want, not all the chicks.
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: Maybe you watch out, Louise, do some dishes to lie
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: ladies do some dishes tonight?
- 1:20:37Speaker 4: How that works out for you? I do the dishes
- 1:20:39Speaker 4: every day, my friend, I am the dish washer. But
- 1:20:43Speaker 4: you enjoy doing dishes? Oh yeah, I do it. Yeah.
- 1:20:46Speaker 4: This might be a Davis family thing. It might be
- 1:20:48Speaker 4: in our DNA because you know, I'll go see the
- 1:20:51Speaker 4: lovely Margaret Mary. Uh, that's my mother and that we
- 1:20:57Speaker 4: dishes and thinks not that many don't know. After we've
- 1:20:58Speaker 4: had like a cup of coffee or you know the
- 1:21:00Speaker 4: family's been over and had like coffee and cake or something.
- 1:21:02Speaker 4: Mum and the woman to take care of those discipline
- 1:21:07Speaker 4: my dishes. But she's very happy to stand there at
- 1:21:11Speaker 4: ninety something, a little hot sauce, a little hot water,
- 1:21:18Speaker 4: and a little liquid soap in the sink and get
- 1:21:21Speaker 4: him looking sparkling.
- 1:21:23Speaker 3: I feel the same way. Yeah, well done, I learned it, apparently,
- 1:21:26Speaker 3: and it's true. Anything else the Shrek went to, no
- 1:21:28Speaker 3: one's buying.
- 1:21:29Speaker 4: That's true. Having said that, Shrek number five coming up? Yeah,
- 1:21:32Speaker 4: next year. It was meant to be this year. Now
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: next year. Apparently Zindaya is the voice of Shrek and Fiona.
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: Don't they're going to fix the design to give you
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: a stoic nimber. We're outraged by the design. It It
- 1:21:43Speaker 3: does look different enough where I went. Obviously they are
- 1:21:45Speaker 3: in Shrek. I mean I can see why people. Yeah,
- 1:21:47Speaker 3: so Shrek have changed the Shrek design. He looks different now,
- 1:21:50Speaker 3: and I watched his going. I'm not bothered by it.
- 1:21:53Speaker 3: But still I don't see the point. Why did you
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: feel a need to have to change the designer, Shrek.
- 1:21:58Speaker 3: It's only so slightly, but it's enough where you go
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: that looks off. Yeah, either change the design or just
- 1:22:05Speaker 3: do it as it was.
- 1:22:06Speaker 4: We use the time all the time, doodling on someone's dreams,
- 1:22:10Speaker 4: like when they READID Star Wars like I didn't need
- 1:22:13Speaker 4: I didn't need to see you thet not not this
- 1:22:15Speaker 4: way anyway in New Hope. Okay, Star Wars. It looked
- 1:22:20Speaker 4: great in Return of the Jedi, So yeah, he belongs
- 1:22:23Speaker 4: to Return of the Jedi. Leave him there, correct, Yes,
- 1:22:25Speaker 4: And so when you do these alterations to things that
- 1:22:28Speaker 4: people really really love. Something I'm learning as a generation
- 1:22:31Speaker 4: XT type is how much the millennials love Shrek. Love Shrek?
- 1:22:35Speaker 4: Oh ye? Yeah, I mean, of course I know you do,
- 1:22:37Speaker 4: but I mean I thought you were just a widow
- 1:22:41Speaker 4: no people. Yeah, the kid the kids love Shrek.
- 1:22:44Speaker 3: Donkey meant the word to us. It gave Eddie Murphy
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: a new lease on life.
- 1:22:48Speaker 4: Well, as we were saying before about Robin Williams, yeah,
- 1:22:51Speaker 4: I mean, sometimes you can be in the doldrooms a
- 1:22:53Speaker 4: little bit and then you find a role that makes
- 1:22:55Speaker 4: people realize or remember it's like oh wow, yeah capable
- 1:22:58Speaker 4: of this or able to handle this or something like that.
- 1:23:02Speaker 4: So yeah, you're right, I mean, because yeah, ro Eddie Murphy,
- 1:23:06Speaker 4: it's sort of like, why do we like this? Guy?
- 1:23:08Speaker 3: Was doing a lot kids films after this, right? And
- 1:23:11Speaker 3: you know what any thing is if you were if
- 1:23:13Speaker 3: you enjoyed. If you lived through the Eddie Murphy of
- 1:23:15Speaker 3: the eighties, right where it was Beverly Hills, cop and
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: raw and delirious and all this other stuff. It's like,
- 1:23:19Speaker 3: you like the Eddie Murphy. My kids put Meet Dave
- 1:23:22Speaker 3: and Daddy Dayker on it the other day and they
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: freaking love them. Man, they loved them. It's like, you
- 1:23:26Speaker 3: know what, he was making these movies for his kids.
- 1:23:29Speaker 4: Kids like them. That's a good point. That is a
- 1:23:31Speaker 4: good point. He made the movies for us, and now
- 1:23:34Speaker 4: he's making movies for his kids. Who do you make
- 1:23:36Speaker 4: Pluto Nashville the money? You know what? I still say
- 1:23:42Speaker 4: is underrated both finger. No one's saying both figures underrated.
- 1:23:46Speaker 3: I was the only one of my I was the
- 1:23:48Speaker 3: only one of my friends that ever knew of that film.
- 1:23:50Speaker 3: And like I sometimes see it on TV, I'm like,
- 1:23:52Speaker 3: I'm gonna make sure I set thim aside to watch Bothing.
- 1:23:54Speaker 3: I love that movie.
- 1:23:55Speaker 4: Oh a lot of people love both Okay, good and
- 1:23:58Speaker 4: I'm glad not the only one, So I'm not a
- 1:23:59Speaker 4: weird well questions. Leave your remarks in the comments. From
- 1:24:07Speaker 4: miss Day forward, your names will.

- 1:24:19Speaker 3: on nineteen, only one point behind, and Brian hughesy mchughes.
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: He's climbed that ladder. He's on fifteen points. Now take
- 1:24:25Speaker 3: it away.
- 1:24:26Speaker 4: One point goes to jen Uine mistake. Oh, Jared's got
- 1:24:31Speaker 4: one points on twenty one. Now come in anyway is
- 1:24:34Speaker 4: getting away? He got one point and two points go
- 1:24:38Speaker 4: to You give love a butt name. You gotta sing it.
- 1:24:43Speaker 4: You give love a butt name. That is Steve Roberts Wild.
- 1:24:48Speaker 4: I'm Steve. He now won four points Wild.
- 1:24:50Speaker 3: He's either got two one points and a two point
- 1:24:53Speaker 3: now or two two's either way, two plus two is four.
- 1:25:00Speaker 4: Say the lone guy. It was my understanding there would
- 1:25:02Speaker 4: be no math who got the three this week? The three?
- 1:25:06Speaker 4: Just get to the three point three points goes to
- 1:25:09Speaker 4: over dosed. That is hugh'sy mc hughest. He's climb that ladder.
- 1:25:16Speaker 3: He He is now third on eighteen points, only two
- 1:25:20Speaker 3: three points behind Jared and one point behind Phil Hawkins.
- 1:25:23Speaker 3: He has come out of absolutely nowhere.
- 1:25:25Speaker 4: Boy, He's a dark or Brian Hughsey Mchughes trying to
- 1:25:29Speaker 4: steal that mantle. Well, we wish you the best of luck,

- 1:25:43Speaker 3: position on twenty one, Phil Hawkins on nineteen and second,
- 1:25:45Speaker 3: and Brian hughesy Mchughes on eighteen and third. It's a
- 1:25:48Speaker 3: very close frace. Anyone can win.
- 1:25:50Speaker 4: Anyone can win. It's probably gonna be no anyone can win. Yeah,
- 1:25:56Speaker 4: but everyone can be a part of it. And look,

- 1:26:35Speaker 3: the Patreon group with a party theme to find out
- 1:26:38Speaker 3: which is going to be the next guy on Springfield
- 1:26:40Speaker 3: Review in July because Elliott turned seven in as he
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: told me this morning, nineteen days.
- 1:26:46Speaker 4: It's great when you're a kidding you because cat very
- 1:26:49Speaker 4: very specific. I'm so excited so many days to my
- 1:26:52Speaker 4: special day. Yes, the countdown is on birthdays.
- 1:26:56Speaker 3: I feel like now though I don't want, I don't
- 1:26:59Speaker 3: make a big deal about my birth days, right, but
- 1:27:01Speaker 3: when it gets to my birthday and like no one
- 1:27:03Speaker 3: else is making a big deal, I'm kind of like,
- 1:27:05Speaker 3: it's kind of wish someone would, oh ya know. It's
- 1:27:08Speaker 3: just I didn't want to make a big deal because
- 1:27:10Speaker 3: like it's just the birthday. But now it gets my
- 1:27:11Speaker 3: birthday and go. It would be nice, though, if people
- 1:27:13Speaker 3: made an effort.
- 1:27:15Speaker 4: I think our nerve endings have been kind of deadened
- 1:27:17Speaker 4: again by social media. In a life but you know
- 1:27:20Speaker 4: when Facebook first started taking off, and you know, it
- 1:27:24Speaker 4: came up on the main page, like someone says birthday,

- 1:28:18Speaker 4: you care, because I care. Yes, guilty of anything, it's
