Lubbock County’s newest Texas Historical Marker is set to honor the Broadway Church of Christ, unveiling on Sunday, June 28th at noon right on their historic Broadway grounds. This church, founded in 1891 in the Nicolette Hotel, has been a Lubbock staple for over 120 years — even helping build Lubbock’s third-ever structure in 1906 and settling into their current home in 1950. This marker celebrates not just a building, but a community cornerstone that helped shape Lubbock’s story — one that’s finally getting its due.
