- 0:00Speaker 1: The Force will be with you always.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Hello, everyone, Welcome back to another episode of Star Wars.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Lion's your home on the Geek Ultimate, a Lance podcast
- 0:25Speaker 2: network for any and a Star Wars. I'm your host
- 0:29Speaker 2: as always, Katie, and things right now are super chaotic,
- 0:33Speaker 2: but I'm joined by the ever present Clay. Clay, how
- 0:36Speaker 2: are you doing today?
- 0:37Speaker 3: I am doing good. I'm like still trying to decide
- 0:41Speaker 3: where i want my stream yard like layout because this
- 0:47Speaker 3: is the first time in a very long time that
- 0:50Speaker 3: I've actually been able to like move things around. And
- 0:53Speaker 3: I think this is I think this from from where
- 0:56Speaker 3: I am sitting to where my camera is to where
- 0:59Speaker 3: I'm looking at you, because if I were to have
- 1:03Speaker 3: it where I used to have it, I'd be looking
- 1:04Speaker 3: like this completely away from camera. So I think this
- 1:07Speaker 3: works out pretty well. I'm doing good. As I told you,
- 1:13Speaker 3: I am currently sitting in a room that is just
- 1:16Speaker 3: under a thousand degrees there. There is, guys, there is
- 1:21Speaker 3: a reason why I left Texas and it's it's really sad.
- 1:27Speaker 3: And I don't know if I know. My mother never
- 1:31Speaker 3: listens to my podcasts, but Abby and I were talking
- 1:37Speaker 3: the other day and she's like, Clay, I know, I
- 1:40Speaker 3: complained a lot about missing Texas. I miss Indiana. And
- 1:46Speaker 3: it's been a week. It's literally been a little more
- 1:50Speaker 3: than a week. And I think, uh, I when when
- 1:57Speaker 3: we when we had said, like, hey, Max, two years,
- 1:59Speaker 3: I don't think we're gonna make two years. It's it's
- 2:05Speaker 3: like my I was just not born for Texas. I
- 2:08Speaker 3: don't know. I mean, I was literally born in Tennessee,
- 2:11Speaker 3: but I was not born for Texas. And I don't know.
- 2:16Speaker 3: But uh, but it's it's it's been a week. It's
- 2:19Speaker 3: been a week.
- 2:21Speaker 2: I really very hard. I had to drive back to
- 2:23Speaker 2: Greenville today for an appointment because there's just no good
- 2:28Speaker 2: neurologists in Colombia. So I am keeping my current neurologist
- 2:33Speaker 2: because we have a good treatment plan and everything. But
- 2:37Speaker 2: like I spent fifty dollars in gas today, Like.
- 2:42Speaker 3: So I have. I refuse to fill up on gas here,
- 2:49Speaker 3: which is crazy to think about because when we left
- 2:56Speaker 3: to go to Indiana, Texas was cheaper than Indiana. Coming
- 3:02Speaker 3: back Texas is more expensive than in Oh wow, which
- 3:06Speaker 3: is crazy. It's crazy to think about that. But like
- 3:11Speaker 3: we are, we've ran out. We haven't run out of gas,
- 3:14Speaker 3: but we've gotten really low on gas, and I just like,
- 3:16Speaker 3: go to a gas station. I put ten to fifteen
- 3:18Speaker 3: dollars in and I'm like, we're just gonna try and
- 3:22Speaker 3: stay on this side of town and we're not going
- 3:24Speaker 3: to go anywhere, all right. Yeah, if we go anywhere far,
- 3:27Speaker 3: we're just gonna ride with my parents and we're just
- 3:32Speaker 3: going to have to deal with the fact that we're
- 3:34Speaker 3: stuck wherever we're going to be until they're done. But yeah,
- 3:40Speaker 3: it's it's it's crazy, but there there is a little
- 3:43Speaker 3: bit of a life update from us guys. We do
- 3:45Speaker 3: have a little bit of news. Nothing, nothing too crazy
- 3:52Speaker 3: when it comes to just Star Wars in general. The
- 3:56Speaker 3: biggest thing, and I think we're gonna lead with this,
- 4:00Speaker 3: there was a headline over at comicbook dot com saying
- 4:06Speaker 3: Ray's new Jedi order finally arrives in Star Wars' next movie,
- 4:11Speaker 3: according to major new reports. My big thing though, is
- 4:19Speaker 3: this headline is misleading.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Very misleading, because like I read the article, but then
- 4:28Speaker 2: we talked about it two days later and I'm like, oh, yeah,
- 4:31Speaker 2: like the movie's finally moving forward. Great going off the
- 4:35Speaker 2: headline because I exactly wiped everything out.
- 4:38Speaker 3: People will see this headline and completely just think of
- 4:43Speaker 3: the Ray Skywalker movie. The article is specifically talking about Starfighter. Now,
- 4:54Speaker 3: there is no like con firmed reports. Of course, this
- 5:01Speaker 3: is just a rumor stating that the New Jedi Order
- 5:08Speaker 3: is a part of this movie's plot. And we have
- 5:14Speaker 3: had We've already heard these rumors. This is kind of
- 5:17Speaker 3: just doubling down on them. And when we first reported
- 5:23Speaker 3: about this, and it seems to still be along that path.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Is the rumor is along with the plot that Ryan
- 5:33Speaker 3: Gosling's character will be taking Flynn's character or Flynn is
- 5:42Speaker 3: the character, Yeah, but Gray is the is the actor,
- 5:46Speaker 3: Gray's character the child to a quote unquote Jedi planet
- 5:54Speaker 3: where we will be introduced to raise New Jedi Order. Now,
- 6:01Speaker 3: I I thought, question Mark, well, we didn't get into
- 6:09Speaker 3: that deep of a discussion when I when I talked
- 6:12Speaker 3: about it on the gig First discord. But my one
- 6:18Speaker 3: comment towards this, and I like, I doubt that it
- 6:24Speaker 3: is because the rumors were even prior to the Mandalorian
- 6:27Speaker 3: Grogu movie debuting at all. But I did say, I
- 6:34Speaker 3: really hope this isn't a a rushed course correction due
- 6:44Speaker 3: to the Mando box office I because because we all
- 6:50Speaker 3: know what that can mean. It can mean like, hey,
- 6:55Speaker 3: regardless of what this movie was going to be, we
- 6:58Speaker 3: need to force this into hear and hype it up
- 7:02Speaker 3: so that way people hopefully watch our movie, and then
- 7:05Speaker 3: it just like kind of just ruins the movie. We've
- 7:08Speaker 3: seen that happen before. I don't think this is the
- 7:13Speaker 3: case because, like I said, prior, these rumors were already circulating, circulating.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Very much circulator. We've talked about it before. And how like,
- 7:25Speaker 2: like we know, like Tom Cruise shot a lightsaber fight.
- 7:30Speaker 2: I mean, if you're doing a lightsaber fight, doesn't it
- 7:34Speaker 2: kind of make sense that the New Jedi Order would
- 7:37Speaker 2: be involved in some way, shape or form. And yes,
- 7:41Speaker 2: do we know that other characters use lightsabers and it
- 7:45Speaker 2: doesn't necessarily just have to be Jedi and Sith. Sure,
- 7:49Speaker 2: but good Guy tends to be the Jedi that has
- 7:53Speaker 2: a lightsaber, so that would make the most sense for
- 7:56Speaker 2: a fight.
- 7:58Speaker 3: And also with this article does point out that I
- 8:01Speaker 3: never really like questioned more so because I have no
- 8:08Speaker 3: legitimate past with this character, Like I have no experience
- 8:11Speaker 3: with this character. Katie, you may know what the article
- 8:14Speaker 3: is talking about, but it says here. According to the
- 8:17Speaker 3: reports Starfighter. In Star Wars Starfighter excuse me, Ryan Gosling
- 8:24Speaker 3: will play Cad, who is described as a Han solo
- 8:28Speaker 3: pirate rogue like character and is possibly a canonized riff
- 8:35Speaker 3: of a famous Star Wars Legends character, Cad being Caid
- 8:44Speaker 3: Skye Caid Skywalker. Now it does stay here, so that.
- 8:55Speaker 2: For reference, Caid Skywalker is like one hundred and fifty
- 9:02Speaker 2: years past Luke Skywalker and like the same generation, decided
- 9:11Speaker 2: to decline his Jedi heritage as the last I believe
- 9:18Speaker 2: it's like the last remaining survivor of the Skywalker line.
- 9:24Speaker 2: The Sith have taken over the galaxy, like to the
- 9:27Speaker 2: point they have a ruling system, a ruling government on
- 9:31Speaker 2: Corsant and everything like, so that that's who you're kind
- 9:36Speaker 2: of looking at. I don't know a ton about him
- 9:39Speaker 2: because Star Wars Legacy was only comics based, yes, and
- 9:44Speaker 2: I wasn't. I never really read the Star Wars comics
- 9:48Speaker 2: in like.
- 9:49Speaker 3: I have only seen like maybe three or four panels
- 9:53Speaker 3: of this character. He very much looks like a h
- 10:00Speaker 3: in Layman's terms, like a bum. Like he is just
- 10:06Speaker 3: like a like very much. So he's very scraggly, he
- 10:12Speaker 3: has a long trench coat, he has very messy hair,
- 10:17Speaker 3: and one of the panels that I have seen is
- 10:22Speaker 3: a forced ghost loose Skywalker basically saying like why did
- 10:26Speaker 3: you renounce the name of Skywalker? And like, hey, you
- 10:29Speaker 3: like you could be so much more Like so I
- 10:32Speaker 3: get the premise of who Kate is supposed to be.
- 10:36Speaker 3: I believe it is in a separate article from Comic
- 10:42Speaker 3: book dot com because there is a hyperlink. When this
- 10:46Speaker 3: particular article starts talking about this latest rumor or this
- 10:50Speaker 3: you know, updated latest rumor, it does talk about who
- 10:57Speaker 3: kid Skywalker is and they're like, oh, coincidentally, paid and
- 11:06Speaker 3: Ryan Gosling kind of look the same. I don't necessarily.
- 11:16Speaker 2: What is he supposed to be? Luke Skywalker's bastard?
- 11:20Speaker 3: Well, so that's the thing. In this article, it does
- 11:25Speaker 3: state that, like in the current Star Wars timeline, there's
- 11:30Speaker 3: not really any room to suggest that Luke had a
- 11:38Speaker 3: bastardized child, you.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Know, And I say bastard, guys, I'm not saying that
- 11:43Speaker 2: negatively basically, but basically.
- 11:45Speaker 3: The actual definition of.
- 11:48Speaker 2: His baby Mama didn't tell him exactly.
- 11:51Speaker 3: Yeah, guys, I will tell you right now. These two
- 11:55Speaker 3: people if you are looking on YouTube right now, look
- 11:58Speaker 3: nothing alike. I'm sorry, they're like, oh they look they
- 12:02Speaker 3: look similar. They both have one hair. That is it.
- 12:06Speaker 3: There is no and like.
- 12:08Speaker 2: The goates kind to match, but like.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Really but yeah, like I don't believe that they will
- 12:17Speaker 3: go as far as to say, like in like actual canon,
- 12:22Speaker 3: like hey, like this will end up being a skywalker
- 12:26Speaker 3: because if they do, I might throw my popcorn at
- 12:30Speaker 3: the screen. Yeah.
- 12:33Speaker 2: I wouldn't necessarily pitch a fit about raised Jedi order
- 12:37Speaker 2: being in Starfighter because, like I said, I don't think
- 12:39Speaker 2: it's a course correction from mand learning Grogu. I think
- 12:45Speaker 2: the course correction would be claiming he's a skywalker and
- 12:49Speaker 2: like reshoots involving that.
- 12:52Speaker 3: I would be so pissed, like genuinely, only because like,
- 12:59Speaker 3: you can't tell me or at least tease me there's
- 13:03Speaker 3: a possibility of Ray being in this movie just to
- 13:07Speaker 3: then say like, hey, I'm actually like your like.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Adopted sister.
- 13:18Speaker 3: Uh yeah, like, because then every single person and their
- 13:26Speaker 3: mother will then say, hey, forget about any plans you
- 13:31Speaker 3: had about Ray. I want more Ryan Gosling sky.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Skywalker exactly exactly, and yeah, we don't. We don't need that.
- 13:41Speaker 2: So and now that this is out there, it's gonna
- 13:46Speaker 2: get picked up by grifters and people are going to
- 13:48Speaker 2: be saying it. So we're just gonna have to accept
- 13:51Speaker 2: that people are gonna be like, oh, they're going to
- 13:53Speaker 2: replace Ray with Ryan Gosling. So we're just gonna have
- 14:00Speaker 2: to push past that and hope that lucasfilm isn't that dumb.
- 14:09Speaker 3: I I, like I said, I don't think they would be.
- 14:14Speaker 3: I think that it will like I say that, but
- 14:20Speaker 3: I mean, it's just disgusts me to kind of think about, like, hey,
- 14:27Speaker 3: you know, we we just we just go along with grifters,
- 14:30Speaker 3: and we just we we go along with the minority
- 14:34Speaker 3: instead of the majority. You know, Like that's how things
- 14:37Speaker 3: work in the United States these days, and it's it's
- 14:40Speaker 3: just said, but that's that's the biggest thing to come
- 14:45Speaker 3: out of the news this week. Nothing else has dropped
- 14:50Speaker 3: dramatically or anything else. Just so that way you guys
- 14:57Speaker 3: are aware, we will not have a live review of
- 15:07Speaker 3: Star Wars Legacy, which does come out next week, comes.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Out in two weeks. It comes out on the twenty eighth.
- 15:14Speaker 2: The embargo is up next week.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Yes, yes, correct, correct, correct, It comes out in two weeks.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Embargo is next week. We will already record. We will
- 15:24Speaker 3: be recording our Star Wars Legacy review actually this weekend,
- 15:32Speaker 3: and we will be posting it on that embargo date,
- 15:36Speaker 3: so that way you know it's out there and we
- 15:41Speaker 3: will remind you once the actual official release is out
- 15:46Speaker 3: to go back and listen. If not repost it and
- 15:51Speaker 3: shared on social media and whatnot. So yeah, other than that,
- 15:58Speaker 3: before we get onto our main time topic, which is
- 16:00Speaker 3: Doctor Afra the two thousand and twenty five run, which
- 16:05Speaker 3: is only a small five issue run, we will be
- 16:08Speaker 3: talking about what we got earlier, uh last week? Was
- 16:15Speaker 3: it earlier last week or is it early early?
- 16:17Speaker 2: Yeah? Earlier or late last week?
- 16:20Speaker 3: Late last week we got not only a poster, but
- 16:25Speaker 3: we got a trailer for the ninth Jedi. O Katie,
- 16:39Speaker 3: I shared this with you, and your reaction to me
- 16:47Speaker 3: sharing this to you was hmmm, So I need to
- 16:57Speaker 3: know what were your initial thoughts on this trailer.
- 17:06Speaker 2: I thought they were going to go more creative with
- 17:10Speaker 2: the storytelling, okay, I versus an original trilogy rewrite kind
- 17:21Speaker 2: of feel is what I feel from this?
- 17:24Speaker 3: Mm hmm and obviously that can be wrong, but that
- 17:29Speaker 3: when you say original trilogy, I think you really mean
- 17:35Speaker 3: the Star Wars go to of World Killer. That is like,
- 17:42Speaker 3: because everything else is I would say kind of original.
- 17:51Speaker 3: I'm not gonna say that they have not created an
- 17:54Speaker 3: original story. We see, uh, you know, a full band
- 18:00Speaker 3: of heroes on quotations because there is a there's a
- 18:06Speaker 3: little bit of a twist that comes along with the trailer.
- 18:10Speaker 3: But we have our band of quote unquote heroes and
- 18:14Speaker 3: there is a uh, a masked villain just like every
- 18:20Speaker 3: other That's more.
- 18:20Speaker 2: What I meant by like the masked villain, Okay, feels
- 18:27Speaker 2: it feels like we've got the bar the original trilogy aspect.
- 18:32Speaker 2: There there is a word world killer. I do see that.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Sorry guys, again, it's been chaotic. I've got a plan now, uh,
- 18:39Speaker 2: but the kyber crystal making the weapon, it just feels
- 18:44Speaker 2: very rewriting. And I know that that like that they
- 18:49Speaker 2: wanted these studios to be able to do this, But
- 18:52Speaker 2: I really thought what we had with the first two
- 18:56Speaker 2: episodes of The Ninth Jedi was super original storytelling, like
- 19:02Speaker 2: brand new chapter kind of feeling. And it feels very
- 19:09Speaker 2: re ready here and not necessarily original.
- 19:13Speaker 3: So I will say this, I do feel that with
- 19:18Speaker 3: this trailer, the plot is lost. And when I say that,
- 19:24Speaker 3: the plot of the first two episodes in Envisions season one,
- 19:28Speaker 3: Vision season three is all about our main character Kyrie
- 19:35Speaker 3: and her father. Right, is her name Kyrie Kara Kara?
- 19:41Speaker 3: Sorry I knew it started with a k Kara's father
- 19:47Speaker 3: being this lightsaber forger, right, And I don't even know.
- 19:58Speaker 3: I think we see him once in this entire trailer, Yeah.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Because there's still that focus of Okay, she wants to
- 20:05Speaker 2: get her father back. But I feel like it's just
- 20:10Speaker 2: kind of like Luke, like he was recruited very randomly apparently,
- 20:17Speaker 2: but he was actually like meant.
- 20:19Speaker 3: To be Holy shit, hold on, is this is this
- 20:25Speaker 3: a new hope in Rogue one put together?
- 20:28Speaker 2: That's what I kind of feel like.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Oh I just thought about that because of of uh
- 20:37Speaker 3: Ursa's father, uh.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Huh oh no, And that's just it just it feels
- 20:47Speaker 2: like we're just retranslating, rewriting some things. I'm not gonna
- 20:52Speaker 2: say retranslating. I'm still excited for it, but this trailer
- 20:59Speaker 2: death let me feel a net and especially with the
- 21:02Speaker 2: fact that this this premiere is all at once on
- 21:12Speaker 2: August fifth. It's not encouraging in that sort of way.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Well, that's what I also wanted to talk to you about.
- 21:29Speaker 3: At the end of this trailer, it says Star Wars
- 21:32Speaker 3: Vision presents the ninth Jedi streaming August fifth. It just
- 21:37Speaker 3: says streaming August fifth.
- 21:38Speaker 2: No, it is confirmed that all episodes drop August fifth.
- 21:42Speaker 3: Has it been confirmed that all episodes drop on August fifth? Katie?
- 21:46Speaker 3: Do you know what that means?
- 21:49Speaker 2: We've got to turn it around the entire day.
- 21:54Speaker 3: So how many episodes have we been Has it been
- 21:57Speaker 3: confirmed how many episodes this is yet? Guys, we may
- 22:02Speaker 3: have to break this up into two episodes.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it might be that we're dropping an episode on
- 22:11Speaker 2: the sixth and an episode on like the tenth or
- 22:15Speaker 2: something on that sun. Yeah.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Like or I would even say, I would genuinely even say, like,
- 22:21Speaker 3: if we just break the season and half and we
- 22:29Speaker 3: break it into two weeks, I think that, Uh. I
- 22:34Speaker 3: don't necessarily think this requires, Hey, we need all to
- 22:40Speaker 3: like let's say there's ten episodes. Like, I'm not saying like, oh,
- 22:45Speaker 3: all ten episodes need to be dropped within a two
- 22:48Speaker 3: or three day span. I think that. Yeah, if if
- 22:52Speaker 3: all episodes drop on the fifth, say it's ten episodes,
- 22:56Speaker 3: we drop one through five on the sixth, which will
- 23:00Speaker 3: be a August fifth actual live show, and then the
- 23:08Speaker 3: very next week, which would be the thirteenth, thirteenth would
- 23:16Speaker 3: be episode six through I think that's how we would
- 23:20Speaker 3: need to do it.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Yeah, and we can kind of play it by year. Yeah, so,
- 23:27Speaker 2: but we will definitely have some sort of view for
- 23:29Speaker 2: you guys on the sixth for that. The other part
- 23:33Speaker 2: of this press release, oh it does say eight episodes.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Excuse me, I'm totally blind, and the press release is
- 23:42Speaker 2: the eight episode limited anime series is part of an
- 23:46Speaker 2: all new Star Wars Visions Present spanner, which allows filmmakers
- 23:49Speaker 2: to tell longer form Star Wars Vision stories. So that
- 23:54Speaker 2: does kind of tell us that there will be future
- 23:56Speaker 2: Visions Presents storytelling efforts, which is encouraging. That's it. That's
- 24:03Speaker 2: encouraging that this went well enough that Lucasfilm was like, Okay,
- 24:07Speaker 2: you know what, we can keep doing this.
- 24:09Speaker 3: We can we can create more content for our Disney
- 24:12Speaker 3: Plus contracts is essentially what this is about. That being said,
- 24:18Speaker 3: of course, we don't know any more future projects. When
- 24:22Speaker 3: it comes to Visions, we don't know. We don't even
- 24:25Speaker 3: know the locations of the studios in season four. So
- 24:30Speaker 3: my question to you, off the top of the Dome,
- 24:37Speaker 3: through Visions seasons one, two, and three, what is the
- 24:43Speaker 3: next Visions presents series that you want to see?
- 24:51Speaker 2: Off the top of my head, this is the first
- 24:55Speaker 2: one that comes to mind, and it's the French anime
- 25:01Speaker 2: episode from season two, which was, uh, the dancer with
- 25:08Speaker 2: her daughter that was our son. I can't remember who
- 25:12Speaker 2: it was, but what her child basically was taken by
- 25:15Speaker 2: the Empire and uh like mutilated and stuff. I would
- 25:21Speaker 2: love to see a continuation of that story. Yeah, the
- 25:26Speaker 2: French episode. I really fell in love with that style
- 25:31Speaker 2: of animation, but also the story being told of a
- 25:35Speaker 2: mother's love for her child. I thought it was really unique,
- 25:41Speaker 2: really special, and I loved how the animation touched on
- 25:45Speaker 2: like the different dance elements. So there's others. I know
- 25:52Speaker 2: there's others, but that's that's the one that jumps out
- 25:58Speaker 2: at the top of my head. What about you?
- 26:02Speaker 3: So I off the top of my head, off the
- 26:07Speaker 3: top of the Dome, I have the Bounty Hunters. Okay,
- 26:16Speaker 3: this was one from season three that we both enjoyed
- 26:24Speaker 3: very much, and we both had said, like, hey, this
- 26:27Speaker 3: has a lot of potential for future installments if Visions
- 26:32Speaker 3: ever goes back to Japan. This I think does very
- 26:39Speaker 3: much have potential with the because it was with the
- 26:45Speaker 3: the woman that was at one point enslaved and then
- 26:48Speaker 3: became a bounty hunter and all of that stuff. So
- 26:50Speaker 3: I think with a really fun droid in there as well,
- 26:56Speaker 3: I think that would be a very very fun series
- 27:01Speaker 3: to jump into. The second that I immediately thought of,
- 27:10Speaker 3: which I think somebody like Snell would appreciate because he
- 27:16Speaker 3: loves Wallace and Grammet and you actually really really it
- 27:23Speaker 3: was in season two I Am Your Mother, which was
- 27:29Speaker 3: the ah the young the racing one with the pilot
- 27:35Speaker 3: Annie uh and actually had a canonically uh oh who
- 27:43Speaker 3: was the Yes, Wedge was a part of was was
- 27:48Speaker 3: a part of that one as well. So I think, uh,
- 27:51Speaker 3: the Claymation would be a really fun series to jump into.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Yeah, sure, Yeah, I'm excited for the ninth Jedi.
- 28:03Speaker 3: Well, we'll see how it goes. Yeah, And that is,
- 28:06Speaker 3: like we said, debuting August fifth, one month from now. Guys.
- 28:13Speaker 3: We have so much content, guys.
- 28:16Speaker 2: So much legacy Legacy Review next week, Eyes Like Stars,
- 28:22Speaker 2: the following week, Vision's Manga, the next week, the ninth Jedi.
- 28:29Speaker 2: It's going to be a blast.
- 28:31Speaker 4: Yes, so much reading, but guys, I think that's all
- 28:42Speaker 4: the news pieces.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Yeah, oh, how is the box office for the Mandalorian.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Let's look at that.
- 28:49Speaker 3: Let's take a quick look, because I think that we.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Have one hundred and thirty six dollars.
- 29:01Speaker 3: How much?
- 29:05Speaker 2: Oh excuse me? That was the AI for Google box
- 29:09Speaker 2: office Mojo is my typical uh place for box office
- 29:16Speaker 2: three hundred and forty point zero seven one million.
- 29:21Speaker 3: Dollars currently placed at number eleven in the box office currently.
- 29:32Speaker 2: Yeah, my hit three point fifty it might.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Which which is a lot more than what I predicted.
- 29:46Speaker 3: By the way, I totally lost that pizza bet with
- 29:49Speaker 3: Travis for Supergirl that I thought Supergirl was going to
- 29:54Speaker 3: do better than Star Wars and that crashed and burned.
- 30:00Speaker 2: So I haven't gotten a chance to go see it,
- 30:04Speaker 2: and I feel bad about it.
- 30:05Speaker 3: But it is. It's it's not looking great. But nope,
- 30:12Speaker 3: we are going to be discussing Doctor Afra Chaos Agents.
- 30:22Speaker 3: This is uh the twenty twenty five run. It is
- 30:26Speaker 3: five issues long.
- 30:30Speaker 2: Ky, we have writer, yes, Cherish Cherish Chin. I think
- 30:37Speaker 2: she goes they go by Cherry. For artists, we had
- 30:42Speaker 2: Gabriel Guzman for issues one through three, Kieran Mcowan for
- 30:48Speaker 2: issue number four, and Stephen Cummings four issue number five.
- 30:53Speaker 2: The color artist is Mike Attilla and the letter is
- 30:57Speaker 2: VC's Joe Karaman. Yeah.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Uh.
- 31:02Speaker 2: Cover art EG Sue for number one and E. G.
- 31:07Speaker 2: Cure for two through five. Assistant editors Mikey J. Basso
- 31:14Speaker 2: and Drew Baumgartner, and the editor is uh Mark Panacea Panachea.
- 31:24Speaker 2: In terms of art for this one, I kind of
- 31:30Speaker 2: liked four through five better than one through three.
- 31:34Speaker 3: Yes, I am the same, although I will admit one,
- 31:46Speaker 3: two and three did have uh emotional facial expressions down
- 31:54Speaker 3: pretty well.
- 31:55Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's stuff like this guy. Sorry guys, the
- 32:01Speaker 2: background is throwing me off, but.
- 32:03Speaker 3: The very was my thing I have. I I think
- 32:15Speaker 3: the story was okay. I do have a problem with
- 32:21Speaker 3: this series though, very.
- 32:23Speaker 2: Non emotional steaks but like interesting no stakes at all,
- 32:29Speaker 2: but like it has stakes for Afra as a character,
- 32:33Speaker 2: just not wide pressing the steaks and is a beloved
- 32:37Speaker 2: character who they think and I agree with, can still
- 32:43Speaker 2: be relevant to the cultural of Star Wars. But I
- 32:49Speaker 2: think the problem is is af as a character. And
- 32:54Speaker 2: now I have not read all of the Afra runs.
- 32:58Speaker 2: I've read bits and pieces here and there. I think
- 33:01Speaker 2: the issue with Afra is that so far she has
- 33:07Speaker 2: required a secondary she she requires a secondary main character.
- 33:14Speaker 3: Yeah, she is. She is very much co dependent.
- 33:19Speaker 2: She piggybacked off of Vader, She's piggybacked off of Luke Khan,
- 33:23Speaker 2: She's piggyboff, piggybacked off Chrys, Santan, Sana, Starros. The list goes.
- 33:29Speaker 2: On issue number five, I felt like Afra was coming
- 33:34Speaker 2: into her own and I needed more after that, Like,
- 33:37Speaker 2: I felt like we were finally getting Afra as a
- 33:39Speaker 2: solo character.
- 33:42Speaker 3: And then it ends, it ends, and it's.
- 33:45Speaker 2: Very sad, and so I think, like, we have Luke
- 33:50Speaker 2: for issues one and two, and then we have Han
- 33:53Speaker 2: for issue three, and then we have Chili for issue four,
- 33:56Speaker 2: which was very random, Like, did not see that coming,
- 34:01Speaker 2: I guess because they wanted to have two wookies play
- 34:03Speaker 2: on the same page together.
- 34:06Speaker 3: I also, I will admit, I don't like the way
- 34:10Speaker 3: that they introduce the idea of bringing Han in, more
- 34:16Speaker 3: so because I understand that you have to like get
- 34:22Speaker 3: people excited for the next issue, because not everybody is
- 34:26Speaker 3: going to be aware of things like solicitations which literally
- 34:31Speaker 3: tell you like, hey, this is what's going to happen
- 34:33Speaker 3: in the next issue. The way I would have gone
- 34:36Speaker 3: about it is like, at the very end, Loose Skywalker says, oh,
- 34:40Speaker 3: by the way, you're gonna have somebody watching over and
- 34:43Speaker 3: he like throws the data pad at her, and she's like,
- 34:45Speaker 3: Han Solo, I think he should have kept it to himself. Yeah,
- 34:50Speaker 3: because of the way that issue three starts, Afro is
- 34:58Speaker 3: kind of talking like she doesn't know what her next
- 35:02Speaker 3: mission is when she has already been told that Han
- 35:05Speaker 3: Solo was going to be tagging along with her. So
- 35:09Speaker 3: there's just some like things I would have changed for sure. Also,
- 35:18Speaker 3: if issues one and two did not prove, or if
- 35:26Speaker 3: you had any question on what kind of individual Luke
- 35:32Speaker 3: Skywalker was before this series, issue one and two proved
- 35:38Speaker 3: he is a cop. Afra specifically told Luke, Hey, not
- 35:56Speaker 3: everybody's going to be super jazzed about you being here,
- 36:00Speaker 3: So let me run the gauntlet on this and we'll
- 36:03Speaker 3: be good to go. And as soon as somebody says oh,
- 36:08Speaker 3: the force he immediately takes off his hood is like, hey, on,
- 36:14Speaker 3: behalf of the Republic, I'm taking this into custody, and
- 36:17Speaker 3: then all hell breaks loose. Yeah. If Luke would have
- 36:22Speaker 3: kept his mouth shut, stayed quiet, Afra would have gotten
- 36:28Speaker 3: everything they needed with no chaos and sewing. Now I
- 36:32Speaker 3: understand that the book would have then been four pages shorter.
- 36:40Speaker 3: Ha I understand that. But to put Luke in the
- 36:49Speaker 3: light of being this cop like figure and then an
- 36:56Speaker 3: issue too blaming Afra were the chaos that ensues in
- 37:02Speaker 3: issue one. I was so angry reading those issues. I
- 37:10Speaker 3: was like, Luke, why did you do that? It was
- 37:13Speaker 3: very easy. She was getting everything that y'all wanted. And
- 37:16Speaker 3: then an issue too, he was like, hey, because if
- 37:19Speaker 3: this is what happened on the last planet, I should
- 37:22Speaker 3: take control of the situation.
- 37:26Speaker 2: That's what got me is I didn't really care that
- 37:33Speaker 2: he did the thing. I think he lives by that
- 37:37Speaker 2: farm boy persona, and they did it a little bit
- 37:40Speaker 2: better in the legends where it was like some naivete
- 37:43Speaker 2: like everybody in the universe's good kind of feeling in
- 37:48Speaker 2: this case that naivety would have benefited better. But then
- 37:51Speaker 2: to act all high and mighty in issue too. I
- 37:55Speaker 2: was like, yeah, you really feel like a cop right here.
- 38:00Speaker 3: Oh, and also it doesn't help his case that And
- 38:06Speaker 3: again I understand this is the reasoning behind the storytelling
- 38:10Speaker 3: and the reasoning why they do it, but for the
- 38:13Speaker 3: fact that he was like, Hey, I'm gonna be the
- 38:16Speaker 3: face of this investigation and have a door slammed on
- 38:19Speaker 3: me every single chance that I get. And then Afra
- 38:22Speaker 3: literally just spends less than fifteen minutes talking to somebody
- 38:26Speaker 3: in a card game and she's like, Hey, I have
- 38:28Speaker 3: all the information we need.
- 38:32Speaker 2: That aska for you though she's spectacular, but it is
- 38:38Speaker 2: just like.
- 38:41Speaker 3: For one people, we need to we need to come
- 38:45Speaker 3: to terms with the fact that even though Luke Skywalker
- 38:48Speaker 3: can be a badass, he is just another white guy.
- 38:53Speaker 3: Like he is just another white man that does not
- 38:58Speaker 3: need to be the answer for everything.
- 39:03Speaker 2: Uh.
- 39:04Speaker 3: That's just like and you can.
- 39:07Speaker 2: Have big storytelling moments where he is that focus, but
- 39:13Speaker 2: it in it It's like Lucasilm was trying to say,
- 39:17Speaker 2: kind of when they were making good efforts, is that
- 39:20Speaker 2: Luke Skywalker is only one man, and Leah and Han
- 39:24Speaker 2: are only two other people that can't be everywhere in
- 39:28Speaker 2: the galaxy, all at once, and then all of a sudden,
- 39:30Speaker 2: now we must have him everywhere back a kid.
- 39:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:36Speaker 2: So, and we didn't have enough people show up for
- 39:39Speaker 2: the Mandalorian and Grogu, which I totally get why because
- 39:43Speaker 2: box office or movies are expensive as heck right now,
- 39:47Speaker 2: I totally get. I'm not saying that, but Lucaslm's gonna
- 39:51Speaker 2: look at that and go, well, we tried. Now we
- 39:55Speaker 2: have to do something else.
- 39:59Speaker 3: I will say this, will say this. I went to
- 40:01Speaker 3: go see Supergirl here in Texas because literally the weekend
- 40:07Speaker 3: it came out, I was literally driving from Indiana to Texas.
- 40:13Speaker 3: Seeing a movie ticket for less than twenty dollars was
- 40:18Speaker 3: very nice. But I do know if I were to
- 40:21Speaker 3: go see the same movie after six pm, it would
- 40:25Speaker 3: not be less than twenty dollars. So it's it's expensive
- 40:30Speaker 3: everywhere for sure. But yeah, as far as anything else
- 40:39Speaker 3: in the Doctor Afra series, really, I think I have
- 40:49Speaker 3: too many gripes. Other than the first two issues, I think, well,
- 40:55Speaker 3: and like when when you said like, oh no big
- 41:00Speaker 3: whenstandre percussions, I think that was Another big complaint is
- 41:05Speaker 3: that when you put this premise out to people. And again,
- 41:12Speaker 3: I think this is more so a result of this
- 41:17Speaker 3: only being a five issue series. Yep. Like by Issue too,
- 41:23Speaker 3: like by the beginning of Issue Too, it felt like, Hey,
- 41:30Speaker 3: this Gauntlet could be something.
- 41:35Speaker 2: Yep.
- 41:37Speaker 3: It really felt like it was nothing because of the issue.
- 41:39Speaker 2: And that's and that's what they tried to do with
- 41:43Speaker 2: the twenty twenty run. I feel like is they carried
- 41:47Speaker 2: over artifacts and made them big proponents. I do like
- 41:51Speaker 2: the idea of Afra being a dagger and like a
- 41:55Speaker 2: historical artifact hunter and that's how she works for her
- 41:58Speaker 2: sentence off kind of feeling. I liked that concept, and
- 42:01Speaker 2: I like when we talked about our Star Wars suicide
- 42:05Speaker 2: squad like in the Mando era, like we both or
- 42:10Speaker 2: I think I put her on there, Yeah you did,
- 42:12Speaker 2: you did, But like, I think that concept totally works here.
- 42:19Speaker 2: The big issue is not enough time and not enough
- 42:23Speaker 2: Uh not enough? Like what's the word I'm thinking, there's
- 42:30Speaker 2: not enough. I don't want to say effort, because I
- 42:35Speaker 2: know everybody put great effort into the storytelling, but like,
- 42:37Speaker 2: effort's like the closest thing I can look I can
- 42:41Speaker 2: find in my head. Sorry, guys, it's definitely not the
- 42:44Speaker 2: word that I'm thinking of.
- 42:46Speaker 3: Just want to say hi to Alex in the chat.
- 42:48Speaker 3: And also, Kevin, we do see your comments on the
- 42:53Speaker 3: Starfighter Future and how it's going to bounce back with lucasfilm.
- 42:58Speaker 3: We do believe that is true. Also, yeah, we'll.
- 43:02Speaker 2: Talk about it more after we get done with the
- 43:04Speaker 2: comic review.
- 43:05Speaker 3: Yeah, but I agree, And this goes back to our
- 43:13Speaker 3: conversations with Jedi Knights and Kylo Rinn recently, and I
- 43:24Speaker 3: say recently, I feel like twenty twenty four and twenty
- 43:27Speaker 3: twenty five specifically, there has been a little bit of
- 43:32Speaker 3: a less investment in the Star Wars line of comics
- 43:37Speaker 3: when it comes to Marvel, and it kind of hurts
- 43:43Speaker 3: because we always say like we're we're always saying like, oh,
- 43:48Speaker 3: we don't really have to worry about concept because it's
- 43:50Speaker 3: constantly coming to us because we cover everything. We cover movies,
- 43:54Speaker 3: we cover TV shows, we cover books, we cover comics. Yeah, Like,
- 43:58Speaker 3: when you look at everything, it's all encompassing and it's
- 44:02Speaker 3: a whole year's worth, but when you look at those individually,
- 44:08Speaker 3: it starts to shrink. In comic books specifically, when it
- 44:11Speaker 3: comes to Star Wars, it's been almost like a desert.
- 44:16Speaker 3: There hasn't been much of anything consistently. Everything has been
- 44:22Speaker 3: a limited series, and I genuinely think things need to
- 44:29Speaker 3: change when it comes to that aspect Star Wars specifically,
- 44:36Speaker 3: so that way we can have substance with everything that's
- 44:43Speaker 3: going on with these characters that we want to see.
- 44:47Speaker 2: Either that or you need to be upfront with these
- 44:50Speaker 2: artists and the authors who are coming in and you say, look,
- 44:54Speaker 2: you got five issues. I need a tight story and
- 44:58Speaker 2: it need to make it work. The other thing I
- 45:07Speaker 2: wanted to say, I think this is the last thing
- 45:09Speaker 2: that I had was this cover, this issue cover.
- 45:15Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 45:17Speaker 2: Originally when this came out, I was like, why is
- 45:20Speaker 2: Luke so feminine looking? And I know people like to
- 45:24Speaker 2: say he looks kind of feminine your preference. I've always
- 45:28Speaker 2: thought Luke was more masculine, but that also might be
- 45:34Speaker 2: the Star Wars legends. But turns out this is her sister.
- 45:37Speaker 2: This is not Luke very important in case you were thinking.
- 45:43Speaker 3: I well, and that's the thing when you look at
- 45:49Speaker 3: I think that's one of the other big complaints to
- 45:51Speaker 3: me is when you look at the series, like judging
- 45:57Speaker 3: a book by its cover, you look at issue one
- 46:01Speaker 3: and then you look through issue two through five, Issue
- 46:05Speaker 3: one looks like it should not be a part of
- 46:09Speaker 3: this series. It's like they decided immediately after they got
- 46:14Speaker 3: the completed work on cover on cover one, was like, hey,
- 46:18Speaker 3: we definitely need to change this. Yeah, I don't know why.
- 46:23Speaker 3: I don't. Like there's like the cover that I currently
- 46:26Speaker 3: have on our thumbnail is actually a variant cover. It's
- 46:30Speaker 3: not the uh A cover, actual cover for uh for
- 46:36Speaker 3: the series. But when you look at the covers, it
- 46:40Speaker 3: looks like the odd one out. It looks like the
- 46:43Speaker 3: Black Sheep, And it's again totally preference. Are is subjective,
- 46:50Speaker 3: totally understand the It just looks like a completely different
- 46:54Speaker 3: story compared to everything else.
- 46:59Speaker 2: And I think like he the artist for issue number one,
- 47:03Speaker 2: came back for two through three, that's Guzman, but it
- 47:09Speaker 2: does it looks like they dropped the aggressive shading a
- 47:13Speaker 2: lot in two and three, like it cleaned up because
- 47:19Speaker 2: like they're still like this is this is the beginning
- 47:23Speaker 2: of number two And I know you can't really see
- 47:25Speaker 2: it that great, but like this is very much less
- 47:29Speaker 2: shaded Luke Skywalker face compared to the one that I showed.
- 47:34Speaker 2: And I think it's because they took a look at
- 47:36Speaker 2: it and said, yeah, you know what, this is not
- 47:38Speaker 2: gonna work. Or maybe this was originally supposed to be
- 47:42Speaker 2: a one shot, because I did feel like Issue one
- 47:46Speaker 2: was kind of long, longer than the other issues, so
- 47:49Speaker 2: maybe it was supposed to be a one shot, like
- 47:52Speaker 2: attached to Star Wars, and they were like, yeah, you
- 47:55Speaker 2: know what, this has promised, like we're gonna make it
- 47:58Speaker 2: a mini series instead.
- 47:59Speaker 3: I don't know. And I also and I also do
- 48:03Speaker 3: have a small problem with the fact that when you
- 48:07Speaker 3: in the book with literally the fact that you have
- 48:13Speaker 3: no idea whether she actually learned her lesson or not.
- 48:17Speaker 3: Uh huh, Like because she is talking to her sister
- 48:20Speaker 3: and it's like, hey, I had a really nice conversation
- 48:23Speaker 3: with somebody that's somebody being Luke Skywalker about how you
- 48:26Speaker 3: can change and like you don't have to keep running
- 48:28Speaker 3: and everything else. But like once the sister said stuff,
- 48:32Speaker 3: like they're like, okay, cool, let's let's just go, and
- 48:36Speaker 3: you're like, okay, but go where are you running again? Yeah?
- 48:40Speaker 3: Or are you going to be a dagger when the
- 48:42Speaker 3: next time we see you?
- 48:44Speaker 2: Yeah? Because it goes back and forth, and the whole
- 48:46Speaker 2: title of this series is Chaos Agent. Like I feel
- 48:51Speaker 2: like if she was only going to be a Dagger
- 48:54Speaker 2: Agent for five issues, we should have had Dagger here instead.
- 48:59Speaker 2: Really because there's not there's chaos an issue one, which
- 49:03Speaker 2: is also why I kind of leaned towards it was
- 49:05Speaker 2: a one shot that got developed further.
- 49:07Speaker 3: I understand that Afra can be a loose cannon, and
- 49:15Speaker 3: like that was the whole point. That's the whole premise
- 49:17Speaker 3: is that like, hey, like we understand and value your
- 49:23Speaker 3: knowledge and skills, but you even convinced your parole officer
- 49:29Speaker 3: that you should go and steal some things Like that
- 49:33Speaker 3: was like the whole first issue, which I thought was
- 49:35Speaker 3: really really funny, but like everything from after issue too,
- 49:46Speaker 3: she is like doing good. She is not a loose cannon.
- 49:53Speaker 3: She is not breaking any rules. She's not be like
- 49:57Speaker 3: she's not becoming a rogue agent or anything. She's following
- 50:00Speaker 3: the rules. So like I think overall, and and I
- 50:07Speaker 3: think this is a silly argument, but I still think that, like, guys,
- 50:12Speaker 3: this could have done a lot better even if you
- 50:15Speaker 3: do twelve issues, because five just seems way too short.
- 50:21Speaker 3: It Like I don't know what the resolution is at
- 50:26Speaker 3: the end, Like I feel like I didn't learn anything,
- 50:29Speaker 3: Like it feels like there is no like ending.
- 50:33Speaker 2: It just ends, Yeah, which is I believe that's how
- 50:39Speaker 2: Afra has ended the previous two series is kind of like, Oh,
- 50:43Speaker 2: we're just going to kind of go off and like
- 50:45Speaker 2: see what happens kind of thing. Uh, respecting the chaos
- 50:50Speaker 2: of who Afra is. If you guys are interested, our
- 50:57Speaker 2: friend at Ryan at my knock Manner has actually completed
- 51:00Speaker 2: two interviews I believe with Chen.
- 51:05Speaker 3: They were really good interviews.
- 51:07Speaker 2: I admit I forgot to read them before we did this,
- 51:10Speaker 2: but I read them when he first released them, and
- 51:14Speaker 2: they were very good interviews. He did a really great
- 51:17Speaker 2: job and it was a fun interview with Chen. So
- 51:22Speaker 2: I would highly recommend if you're interested in that to
- 51:25Speaker 2: go check those out because I do think they did
- 51:29Speaker 2: a really good job and there's promise here. But like
- 51:34Speaker 2: you said, like Jedi Knights, there's some missing stuff here
- 51:39Speaker 2: and it feels like we got rushed.
- 51:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:44Speaker 2: Probably my favorite art in this, by the way, is
- 51:48Speaker 2: Issue four and five. Four is probably my favorite.
- 51:54Speaker 3: I out of every out of every issue, I think
- 52:00Speaker 3: my favorite would have to be issue for I think
- 52:07Speaker 3: you're right, Yeah, I think issue four, especially, Like again,
- 52:19Speaker 3: artists objective, everybody can have their own opinion, but transitioning
- 52:25Speaker 3: to what we had in issues one, two, and then
- 52:28Speaker 3: three and then switch over to what we have in
- 52:31Speaker 3: four felt like a little bit of fresh air. It
- 52:36Speaker 3: was very clean, very smooth. I love the shading, I
- 52:39Speaker 3: love the colors, and I think you're right. I think
- 52:44Speaker 3: genuinely they're just like, hey, we need some sort of
- 52:46Speaker 3: buffer between issues three and issue five. Let's just have
- 52:51Speaker 3: two wookies to duke it out. Yeah, And that's that's
- 52:56Speaker 3: the reason why Chewy and Chris An we're a part
- 52:58Speaker 3: of that that issue because it happens so quickly, because
- 53:02Speaker 3: again they're fighting for like three or four pages and
- 53:06Speaker 3: then there's the exposition and then the ending, so you're
- 53:13Speaker 3: kind of just looking at arts for a little bit
- 53:18Speaker 3: while they're fighting.
- 53:20Speaker 2: And Afro's commentary is super funny. I definitely love Afra
- 53:25Speaker 2: as a character, and Chin definitely hits Afra's character very well.
- 53:30Speaker 2: Uh but like even the guy in the beginning who's like, Abra,
- 53:34Speaker 2: we need you in the drawing by like I was
- 53:42Speaker 2: cackling in the coffee shop, oh man.
- 53:47Speaker 3: Yeah, But I think that's it.
- 53:50Speaker 2: For the comic discussion. So going to Kevin's comments before
- 53:55Speaker 2: we close out, Guys, Kevin says Starfighter trailer will be
- 53:59Speaker 2: released the public D twenty three XL Lucas film will
- 54:01Speaker 2: bounce back theatrical. We can hope for the bounce back
- 54:06Speaker 2: and we'll see what happens. I just I I need
- 54:11Speaker 2: the billionaires and the millionaires to recognize that we're in
- 54:15Speaker 2: a different situation and that we need to keep budgets trim.
- 54:24Speaker 3: Yeah. If anything, again, We've talked about this so much,
- 54:32Speaker 3: and I think Obsession is a really good explanation. Is
- 54:35Speaker 3: a really good example. Obsession had I think less than
- 54:44Speaker 3: a million, less than one hundred million. I can't remember
- 54:48Speaker 3: the exact budget for Obsession, but it has broken records
- 54:56Speaker 3: for the genre and for the type of movie that
- 55:00Speaker 3: it was wanting to be.
- 55:05Speaker 2: Yeah, did I lose you or did you lose me? Clay?
- 55:29Speaker 3: Okay, so they Katie, Okay, I'm back. Okay, both cameras
- 55:34Speaker 3: went out. I have no idea if anybody could hear anything, uh,
- 55:38Speaker 3: but we'll double check. But what I'm what I'm saying
- 55:43Speaker 3: is that with different genres, budgets can be extremely different.
- 55:49Speaker 3: And this is why I will always be a huge
- 55:52Speaker 3: cheerleader for Star Wars needs to lean into genre filmmaking
- 55:57Speaker 3: instead of just trying to be the one billion dollar
- 56:02Speaker 3: box office movie.
- 56:04Speaker 2: Yeah, not everybody's gonna hit there, so that they just
- 56:10Speaker 2: need to recognize that and recognize that four hundred million
- 56:16Speaker 2: dollars three hundred million dollars at the box office. It
- 56:19Speaker 2: is not a bad thing if you can keep your
- 56:21Speaker 2: budget better. So, yeah, I do not know about the
- 56:30Speaker 2: star Fighter trailer being released to the public T twenty
- 56:32Speaker 2: three XPL. I'm thinking probably more towards Christmas, just because
- 56:39Speaker 2: I don't think they've shown a trailer at an expo
- 56:41Speaker 2: yet for a Starfighter, and typically the first one that
- 56:47Speaker 2: Lucaslim shows is at an expo and it's private, so
- 56:53Speaker 2: I don't know how much we would get. I would
- 56:55Speaker 2: be leaning more towards Christmas or maybe October ish with
- 57:00Speaker 2: like college football, like a big game for college football,
- 57:06Speaker 2: that would probably be where I would be at for
- 57:10Speaker 2: the trailer. People easily get offended about everything right now,
- 57:14Speaker 2: Disney going to have to play it safe to keep
- 57:16Speaker 2: the family audience. Yeah, I easily offended this.
- 57:24Speaker 3: I think this was this. I think this was my
- 57:26Speaker 3: comment towards uh when we started talking about grifters and
- 57:31Speaker 3: everything else. Like, I like, I think that we have
- 57:35Speaker 3: seen very recently that there has been a little pandering
- 57:44Speaker 3: to the negativity, which is not great long term, and
- 57:52Speaker 3: I do I do think that a lot of studios
- 57:55Speaker 3: need to really be careful with that because like, just
- 58:01Speaker 3: just know that every single audience is in a bubble,
- 58:06Speaker 3: because if you're looking at long term, you're gonna have
- 58:11Speaker 3: generations and generations and it's just not gonna look good.
- 58:15Speaker 2: You have to modify for the generations that are coming
- 58:20Speaker 2: because the Generation X, the Boomers, they're not going to
- 58:26Speaker 2: be here forever. And you cannot sustain a business with
- 58:31Speaker 2: catering to one generation. You just can't. Yeah, So but yeah,
- 58:41Speaker 2: I think that cuts us here. So remind you guys
- 58:44Speaker 2: before we say your goodbyes. Next week you will have
- 58:47Speaker 2: an episode. It will not be a live episode, it
- 58:50Speaker 2: will be our Star Wars Legacy review. Clay and I

- 1:01:02Speaker 3: for Ranger Alliance. We are finally sitting down this weekend,

- 1:01:48Speaker 2: We've got one more book scheduled after July. That is

- 1:01:55Speaker 2: two of that series. So and then we'll kind of
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: be diving into a lot of comic reviews and stuff.
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: So I'm kind of looking forward to that sharpening up
