- 0:04Speaker 1: All right, we are pleased now to be joined by
- 0:06Speaker 1: longtime Big League believer Tommy Cainley. Tommy, thank you so
- 0:10Speaker 1: much for joining us. How's free agency treating you?
- 0:14Speaker 2: Thank you?
- 0:14Speaker 3: I'm here, Uh, to be honest, I haven't really gotten
- 0:20Speaker 3: into any free agency stuff yet, so I'm sure it's
- 0:23Speaker 3: gonna be picking up here in the next few weeks.
- 0:25Speaker 3: You know, we got I think the owner of meetings
- 0:27Speaker 3: at the end of the month, and uh yeah, it
- 0:30Speaker 3: should be interesting. Right now, just kind of enjoying the
- 0:33Speaker 3: family time at home. My daughter's birthday is today. She's
- 0:35Speaker 3: turning four, so it's gonna be a chaos when she
- 0:39Speaker 3: wakes up from nap here.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Before the way.
- 0:48Speaker 4: By the way, happy birthday to your daughter. But the
- 0:51Speaker 4: shirt's tired. And by the way, how are they ranked
- 0:56Speaker 4: ahead of Miami? But Miami beat him? It doesn't make
- 0:58Speaker 4: any sense bias joining conference anyways.
- 1:01Speaker 2: This way.
- 1:05Speaker 4: One team beat the other team. And here's here's my bone.
- 1:09Speaker 4: I have to pick with you. I see you in
- 1:11Speaker 4: the playoffs, right and I and you're on you know
- 1:14Speaker 4: you're sitting there, you're on the phone. I just walk
- 1:15Speaker 4: up to you and just try to give you knuckles,
- 1:18Speaker 4: shake your hand. You don't even acknowledge my existence, you know.
- 1:21Speaker 4: And then we walk into the clubhouse in Seattle, and
- 1:25Speaker 4: I think the Eagles were losing, so you had. The
- 1:27Speaker 4: Phillies lost, the Eagles lost, the Yankees lost, Notre Dame
- 1:32Speaker 4: probably had lost that weekend. You were just not a
- 1:35Speaker 4: happy person, Tommy. Don't take it out on me because
- 1:38Speaker 4: all of your teams were losing at the same time.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Okay, thank you. It's that passion, man. I don't tell you.
- 1:46Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:46Speaker 3: He's always there for everything, fandom. I loved it, always
- 1:51Speaker 3: there by the way. I love the fact that you're not.
- 1:54Speaker 3: I mean, I just walk in there and your teammates
- 1:56Speaker 3: were all over.
- 1:57Speaker 4: You about the Eagle. I think the Eagles had lost,
- 1:59Speaker 4: the Notre Dame had, I don't know they were. They
- 2:01Speaker 4: were all over you. I had never seen teammates get
- 2:06Speaker 4: on one guy more than they were. Just they just
- 2:09Speaker 4: were piling on. It was fun to watch.
- 2:12Speaker 3: I've been dealing it with with it for my entire life.
- 2:14Speaker 3: So that's from friends from some weird you know, grade
- 2:17Speaker 3: school through high school, onto my college buddies, my minor
- 2:21Speaker 3: league buddies, everybody Cratzy sure has seen it.
- 2:26Speaker 2: He's seen it.
- 2:28Speaker 5: You are a target? Why Why are you a target?
- 2:30Speaker 5: Why do you think that is?
- 2:31Speaker 4: Why?
- 2:31Speaker 5: Why do you think that is? Let's tell them to it.
- 2:36Speaker 2: I like to wear my stuff. I like to flaunt it.
- 2:38Speaker 2: You know, I don't know what ty.
- 2:41Speaker 5: You have two lockers. You have two lockers, one with
- 2:43Speaker 5: your baseball stuff and one with all your jerseys. So
- 2:46Speaker 5: you flaunt your team and then when they win, you say, yeah.
- 2:49Speaker 2: I'm baby, it's not wrong. Hey, what are you gonna do?
- 2:55Speaker 5: All right? So you ride the highs of your team?
- 2:58Speaker 5: How did you did you ride the highs of your
- 3:01Speaker 5: season this year? We talk about it, We talk about
- 3:04Speaker 5: it all the time. You you know, the Tigers were
- 3:08Speaker 5: nails the beginning of the season and then struggled in
- 3:12Speaker 5: the second half. Everybody knows it. Did you feel like
- 3:16Speaker 5: your struggles were part of your personal struggles were part
- 3:20Speaker 5: of the team struggles. Did you feel like it was
- 3:23Speaker 5: something that you were starting to get worn out? It
- 3:27Speaker 5: was the most innings you had thrown in a season
- 3:30Speaker 5: since I think nineteen, But before that it was like
- 3:34Speaker 5: when you were a baby, Like what was it that
- 3:38Speaker 5: for you personally kind of made the struggles? But then
- 3:42Speaker 5: also like how do you during that time, how do
- 3:44Speaker 5: you try to get back to like being you, being
- 3:48Speaker 5: the Tommy Kinley that had like a one to five,
- 3:50Speaker 5: one seven ERA in the first half of the season.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:56Speaker 3: I think it was a culmination of everything. I mean, I,
- 3:59Speaker 3: like you said, it's been six years since I pitched
- 4:01Speaker 3: as much and basically pitched an entire season, So I
- 4:07Speaker 3: think I probably got a little tired. I know, Uh,
- 4:10Speaker 3: I was fighting through like a little bit of a
- 4:12Speaker 3: calf thing, so I don't know if that had anything
- 4:15Speaker 3: had to do with it, but there was a culmination
- 4:18Speaker 3: of that. You know, shoulders starts barking a little bit
- 4:20Speaker 3: here and there, But overall I felt, you know that
- 4:23Speaker 3: I could, you know, keep.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Going out there and contributing.
- 4:25Speaker 3: But uh, at the same time, you know, obviously that's
- 4:28Speaker 3: when we started our little trajectory down.
- 4:31Speaker 2: So it was, uh, it was going hand in hand.
- 4:34Speaker 3: But I don't think, uh, you know, our struggles kind
- 4:38Speaker 3: of affected me personally. I just you know, I tried
- 4:43Speaker 3: to keep all the guys, you know, upbeat, like, hey,
- 4:46Speaker 3: like this this stuff happened.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Like you know, you're on good teams. I've seen this happen.
- 4:49Speaker 2: You go through spells where you lose you know, five.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Six, seven, eight, nine games in a row, and then
- 4:55Speaker 3: next thing you know, you flip switch during the corner
- 4:56Speaker 3: and you're back off. But I felt like, you know,
- 5:00Speaker 3: it happened a couple of times. Maybe it's just snowball
- 5:02Speaker 3: too much for us, and we just never kind of
- 5:06Speaker 3: really regained that, like just the magic that we had
- 5:10Speaker 3: those first couple of months. It kind of flashed here
- 5:13Speaker 3: and there in the playoffs, I feel like, but it
- 5:15Speaker 3: just never really culminated to the team. We were those
- 5:18Speaker 3: first you know, three four months of the season, and
- 5:22Speaker 3: I mean I was, you know, not generally too happy
- 5:27Speaker 3: with my performance in July.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Obviously, so.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Looking back on it, I mean, obviously that one month
- 5:36Speaker 3: was killer, But overall, I feel like, you know, I
- 5:38Speaker 3: finally pitched an entire season, you know, being able to
- 5:42Speaker 3: contribute and helping the team. Maybe not through that time,
- 5:46Speaker 3: but overall, you know, the entire season, I feel like, I,
- 5:51Speaker 3: you know, I did a pretty good job.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Maybe the numbers.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Don't show it, but hey, I feel like, you know,
- 5:56Speaker 3: I stuck with it, hung in there. You know, mentally,
- 6:00Speaker 3: it's tough to go through times like that, so to
- 6:03Speaker 3: come out of it after you know around later August,
- 6:07Speaker 3: I think is when I started to kind of re
- 6:09Speaker 3: regain that form again, and it tried to help these
- 6:12Speaker 3: guys winkrats.

- 7:13Speaker 6: help support FT.
- 7:15Speaker 4: I think y'all did a great job. You guys went
- 7:17Speaker 4: through what you went through. Then you beat Cleveland, you
- 7:19Speaker 4: beat them to go to the next round, and you,
- 7:21Speaker 4: you know, whatever you want to say about the next
- 7:23Speaker 4: series was one of the best series I was ever
- 7:25Speaker 4: a part of. Those five games are unbelievable, like ups
- 7:29Speaker 4: and downs and ins and outs and twists and turns.
- 7:31Speaker 4: But what does it mean Because you mentioned you were struggling.
- 7:34Speaker 4: I know this when I talked to Hinch, he never
- 7:36Speaker 4: lost faith in you, right, and he would still put
- 7:39Speaker 4: you out there. He puts you in situations. So what
- 7:41Speaker 4: does that mean as a player that even though you think,
- 7:44Speaker 4: oh man, I'm really kind of struggling, but Hinch just
- 7:46Speaker 4: kept running you out there in all kinds of situations.
- 7:49Speaker 4: I mean, as for me as a former player, I
- 7:51Speaker 4: would say, all right, this guy believes in me. Maybe
- 7:53Speaker 4: I am still pretty good.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I definitely. You know, I went through probably a
- 8:00Speaker 3: few weeks there where I kind of just got kind
- 8:03Speaker 3: of pushed to try to just get me into different
- 8:05Speaker 3: situations to try to get that form back. But he
- 8:09Speaker 3: was really you know, he kept going to me, and
- 8:12Speaker 3: I wanted the ball I mean, it's not like I'm
- 8:14Speaker 3: gonna shy away from it. It obviously going out there
- 8:17Speaker 3: and not performing is that's that's the that's the name
- 8:21Speaker 3: of the game is you know, perform. But uh, it
- 8:24Speaker 3: was it was I think I got mentally worn out
- 8:27Speaker 3: a little bit. He he we had a talk after
- 8:29Speaker 3: the season. He definitely agreed with me on that one.
- 8:32Speaker 3: I feel like it just kind of snowballed a little
- 8:34Speaker 3: bit too much, and and then I it was just
- 8:37Speaker 3: too late by then, and I was just kind of,
- 8:39Speaker 3: you know, looking up at the scoreboard a few times
- 8:41Speaker 3: here and there and just going, oh gosh. But he
- 8:44Speaker 3: did believe, you know, he kept getting me in there,
- 8:46Speaker 3: and later in the season I started pitching those late
- 8:49Speaker 3: in scenarios again. So it it definitely turned around, which
- 8:54Speaker 3: was the positive part of the season. But obviously I'm
- 8:57Speaker 3: still you know, not too fin it like my overall season,
- 9:02Speaker 3: because I feel like I can avoid that that month
- 9:06Speaker 3: if I just recognize it sooner and you think, you know,
- 9:09Speaker 3: I've been in the league for over ten years now,
- 9:11Speaker 3: I would have probably figured that out by now.
- 9:13Speaker 2: But still learning, so that's.
- 9:16Speaker 5: Always always making adjustments. I want to go to that
- 9:20Speaker 5: game five I want to go to what you're watching.
- 9:24Speaker 5: You're watching your offense. And I joked about it on here,
- 9:28Speaker 5: like had the Tigers continued to play, I don't know
- 9:31Speaker 5: that you guys would have.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Scored a run.
- 9:32Speaker 5: Do you see a difference in hitters approaches when it
- 9:38Speaker 5: comes to extra innings in the playoffs, because normally you
- 9:40Speaker 5: get a run around second and it's like, well, you
- 9:42Speaker 5: know what, this is probably going to be done here,
- 9:44Speaker 5: oh blooper base it, Okay, we're going Do you see
- 9:48Speaker 5: a difference because when we got into extra innings in
- 9:51Speaker 5: that game, but when you guys, we I was just
- 9:53Speaker 5: watching the game. AJ was sleeping on the broadcast. Is
- 9:58Speaker 5: there like a are you sitting in the bullpen? Like,
- 10:01Speaker 5: go can I get a line drive from somebody? It's
- 10:04Speaker 5: like strike out, pop up, strikeout, pop up, ending over.
- 10:10Speaker 3: I mean you've been in the bullpen, you know, you know,
- 10:12Speaker 3: we we definitely have a lot of stress balls down there.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Maybe a couple of times I was like that, but
- 10:19Speaker 3: still just like sitting there just waiting, you know, trying
- 10:23Speaker 3: to enjoy it. I know a lot of the other
- 10:25Speaker 3: guys seemed a little bit stressed out. I mean, it
- 10:27Speaker 3: makes sense you're younger. I was like that when I
- 10:29Speaker 3: was young, in those playoff situations, like you're ever gonna score?
- 10:32Speaker 3: Like can we get it done? But you know, I
- 10:34Speaker 3: kept believing, you know, these guys are gonna get it.
- 10:36Speaker 3: But uh, you know, obviously we didn't push one across.
- 10:39Speaker 3: You know, the crazy amount of scenarios for both teams
- 10:42Speaker 3: to you know, push it across sooner.
- 10:44Speaker 2: But yeah, it was, Uh, it was definitely.
- 10:46Speaker 3: I could see the stress and it was getting bigger
- 10:49Speaker 3: and bigger, so it was mounting. So it sucks, it does,
- 10:54Speaker 3: but you know, it was a It was a hell
- 10:56Speaker 3: of a run. I wouldn't change anything again. It was
- 11:00Speaker 3: I had a blast with these guys.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Tommy Trek Skoubahl is in all likelihood going to win
- 11:06Speaker 1: his second consecutive American League sign award tonight. What did
- 11:10Speaker 1: you learn about he? Look, we all know he's great,
- 11:11Speaker 1: but what did you learn being a teammate of his,
- 11:14Speaker 1: watching him, being around him every day, especially compared to
- 11:17Speaker 1: some of the other greats you've been teammates with, like
- 11:19Speaker 1: the Garrett Coles.
- 11:19Speaker 5: Of the world.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Yeah, his involvement definitely with the younger guys, he's same
- 11:25Speaker 3: as I've seen, you know, with other side, young guys
- 11:27Speaker 3: around the league, you know, Kershaw, Garrett. I'm sure I've
- 11:32Speaker 3: played with quite a few others that I can't even
- 11:34Speaker 3: think of off the top of my head. But it
- 11:38Speaker 3: his involvement with the younger guys and just with the staff.
- 11:41Speaker 3: You know, they're always working with each other, you know,
- 11:44Speaker 3: kind of throwing things off each other, you know, back
- 11:47Speaker 3: and forth. But just his you know, every day he's
- 11:52Speaker 3: in there and doing the same, you know, the routine.
- 11:54Speaker 2: It's always routine.
- 11:55Speaker 3: I think it's that's one of the things we need
- 11:57Speaker 3: to teach younger kids today is that routine is a big,
- 12:01Speaker 3: big thing in baseball.
- 12:03Speaker 2: And I mean I have a routine.
- 12:05Speaker 3: I know, younger I try to teach the younger bullpen
- 12:08Speaker 3: guys to have a routine, you know, keep the same
- 12:10Speaker 3: thing every day. Every once in a while, you straight
- 12:13Speaker 3: from it. I mean there's nothing you can do about it.
- 12:15Speaker 3: You hit with like a quick phone call.
- 12:16Speaker 2: But overall, like scooball like, I just thought his routine
- 12:19Speaker 2: was pretty flawless.
- 12:21Speaker 3: So I mean, he just he kept it and obviously
- 12:24Speaker 3: you see him, he's phenomenal. It was incredible to watch
- 12:28Speaker 3: him all year. I mean, he's a big left. He
- 12:30Speaker 3: throwing one hundred. It was insane. So it's a disgusting
- 12:34Speaker 3: change up. So I get to admire that while I'm
- 12:36Speaker 3: out in the bullpen watching him pitch. So I truly
- 12:40Speaker 3: enjoyed watching him pitch.
- 12:42Speaker 5: All right, Well, your routine when the season ends is
- 12:45Speaker 5: to not pick up a baseball and not watch baseball.
- 12:48Speaker 5: Did you get to see any of the World Series
- 12:52Speaker 5: or did you not see any of them?
- 12:55Speaker 2: So I could admit that I probably watched Oh boy,
- 13:00Speaker 2: maybe one inning, two innings maybe, But how hard was it? Uh?
- 13:06Speaker 2: Pretty hard? I just was like, I don't even feel
- 13:09Speaker 2: like watching this.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Just walked, just went, and I was down here watching
- 13:12Speaker 3: it late night, and I said, nah, I'm done.
- 13:15Speaker 2: I wouldn't just play video games? Can you can? You?
- 13:18Speaker 5: Can you get into that a little bit because I
- 13:21Speaker 5: know the years that I lost. I don't know about
- 13:22Speaker 5: aj the years that I lost in the DS or
- 13:25Speaker 5: the CS. And I love baseball. I love watching baseball.
- 13:29Speaker 5: I love watching baseball as much as you love watching
- 13:31Speaker 5: all the other sports that you watch. But it was
- 13:35Speaker 5: so hard for me to watch it, not because I
- 13:37Speaker 5: was jealous, but because it was like, no, I should
- 13:41Speaker 5: have been there. And then I'm like, I'm exhausted from
- 13:43Speaker 5: what we did play and all that stuff. Can you
- 13:46Speaker 5: can you delve into that feeling at all since it's
- 13:49Speaker 5: still kind of fresh the World Series just ended.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree, Cratzy.
- 13:53Speaker 3: You know you you you lose in a playoff series
- 13:58Speaker 3: like that, and it's just it's tough.
- 14:01Speaker 2: You know, obviously you don't want it to go that way.
- 14:05Speaker 3: But I come home, you know, I decompress, and like
- 14:08Speaker 3: you said, I I don't watch baseball. It's after Game five,
- 14:12Speaker 3: Like I said, I think I watched one two innings
- 14:14Speaker 3: of the World Series maybe, and uh, I just didn't
- 14:18Speaker 3: want to deal with it.
- 14:18Speaker 2: I didn't want to watch it.
- 14:19Speaker 3: I want to, Like you said, it's just stuff that
- 14:22Speaker 3: goes through your head, like we should be there. I
- 14:25Speaker 3: I know it, but you know, it's just one bad pitch,
- 14:31Speaker 3: one bad play in the infield, one bad play in
- 14:34Speaker 3: the outfield, you know, hit somebody something crazy, but it's
- 14:38Speaker 3: just and you start your mind starts racing. So it's
- 14:40Speaker 3: just kind of a I don't want to even think
- 14:42Speaker 3: about it. It's over, like there's nothing you can do now.
- 14:46Speaker 2: You know. It took me probably till the next day
- 14:49Speaker 2: to really you know it's over like.
- 14:51Speaker 3: That, I can't there's nothing I can do about it.
- 14:53Speaker 3: Like it's the game's over. It's done. So I like
- 14:56Speaker 3: come home watch football obviously that's it's football in the air,
- 15:00Speaker 3: and I come home. I just watch football and basketball
- 15:04Speaker 3: and having a grand time and then basically just getting
- 15:07Speaker 3: ran over by my kids.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Twenty four to seven.
- 15:11Speaker 4: In video games, you forgot the video games, forgot the
- 15:13Speaker 4: end the video games and the video so stuff. Forget
- 15:16Speaker 4: the most important thing. Now, you went through a little
- 15:19Speaker 4: bit of not an easy free agency last time you
- 15:22Speaker 4: were out there. Do you think because of that, you're
- 15:26Speaker 4: more like to sign the first deal that comes your
- 15:29Speaker 4: way or are you gonna rely on your agent and
- 15:33Speaker 4: try to wait it out and get the best deal?
- 15:35Speaker 4: Because spring training, right, you have to find a place
- 15:38Speaker 4: to live in spring training. You got to figure out
- 15:39Speaker 4: a place to live in the season. All those things
- 15:42Speaker 4: add up. Is it easier just if the first team
- 15:44Speaker 4: comes to you and whatever team that is, and says, hey, Tommy,
- 15:47Speaker 4: here's a one year deal, whatever number, and you're like, man,
- 15:50Speaker 4: maybe I should take this instead of wait, even though
- 15:52Speaker 4: it might be someone saying don't take it.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Yeah, it's definitely you know, I have discussions with my wife.
- 15:59Speaker 2: That's first. Is kind of.
- 16:02Speaker 3: Once you do get the offers, you kind of have
- 16:04Speaker 3: to weigh them. And I generally at this stage in
- 16:09Speaker 3: my career, you know, one thing has eluded me, and
- 16:12Speaker 3: my agent knows this is, you know, winning a world series.
- 16:14Speaker 2: So it's not and.
- 16:16Speaker 3: Everybody can't do it. I mean, you've done it. It's
- 16:18Speaker 3: definitely not easy. So that would be the last domino
- 16:23Speaker 3: that I would like to, you know, check off the
- 16:25Speaker 3: list before I right off. But it's definitely in my
- 16:30Speaker 3: mind it's definitely location. Location helps because obviously family, you know,
- 16:37Speaker 3: where the team's at. Money is obviously a factor, but
- 16:42Speaker 3: you know, there's always things that can change me. And
- 16:45Speaker 3: I feel like at this stage, I'm older now and
- 16:48Speaker 3: you know, times ticking, so I'm not I don't think
- 16:52Speaker 3: I'm just gonna jump on the first first thing thrown
- 16:55Speaker 3: out at me. I kind of want to just get
- 16:58Speaker 3: teams in there and see who's interested in kind of
- 17:01Speaker 3: pick and pry from there and see what they're doing
- 17:04Speaker 3: out in the market and all that kind of stuff.
- 17:07Speaker 3: So it's definitely like a I feel like there's a
- 17:09Speaker 3: lot of things going on for me at this stage
- 17:11Speaker 3: of my career, I just don't want to jump on anything.
- 17:13Speaker 3: And but I mean, obviously, if you don't, sometimes offers
- 17:18Speaker 3: go away. So I mean it's gonna it's gonna be
- 17:21Speaker 3: a it's gonna be interesting free agency this time around.
- 17:24Speaker 3: So I definitely we'll see at the end of the
- 17:27Speaker 3: month kind of how it starts. The weigh out, so
- 17:30Speaker 3: I haven't I know, I'm gonna have a discussion here
- 17:33Speaker 3: probably within the next few days with my agent just
- 17:35Speaker 3: to see what what what we got going here.
- 17:39Speaker 4: Okay, so you do pay attention a little bit, so
- 17:42Speaker 4: that's not true. You do pay attention a little.
- 17:43Speaker 2: With what I would staying with the free agency stuff,
- 17:45Speaker 2: I will.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Obviously O Okay, you know all that.
- 17:51Speaker 4: No Notre Dame losing again to the Coast Guard or
- 17:53Speaker 4: whoever else like you. But by my favorite part, by
- 17:59Speaker 4: the way, I know we we got to get but
- 18:01Speaker 4: my favorite part was the team. And I asked you
- 18:03Speaker 4: this question, have you ever been to a game at
- 18:04Speaker 4: Notre Dame? And you said no? And I was like,
- 18:06Speaker 4: typical Notre Dame fan because I lived in Chicago for
- 18:08Speaker 4: years and they were, oh Notre Dame fan. They can't
- 18:10Speaker 4: name five players and they've never been to a game there,
- 18:13Speaker 4: so you're not a real fan. Now, let me get to.
- 18:16Speaker 2: I can name way more players on Florida than you.
- 18:18Speaker 4: Go, fine, but that's not true. That's not true. That's
- 18:21Speaker 4: one hundred percent not true. But what I want to
- 18:24Speaker 4: know is in the playoffs when we and we we
- 18:26Speaker 4: always get to meet with the managers and we have hints, right,
- 18:28Speaker 4: and he says, oh, when Tommy throws that one fastball
- 18:31Speaker 4: and he strikes him out comes in the dugout and
- 18:33Speaker 4: so see see see, so you're known for your change up,
- 18:36Speaker 4: but you threw a couple of fastballs and you punch
- 18:38Speaker 4: some tickets with these fastballs. Is it true that you
- 18:40Speaker 4: come in the dugout and you say, see, guys, I
- 18:43Speaker 4: can't throw ninety five and I can't strike out guys
- 18:45Speaker 4: with my fastball.
- 18:47Speaker 3: I will say there's times, yes, this year I did
- 18:50Speaker 3: come in and kind of nudge them a little bit,
- 18:53Speaker 3: all the you know, the coaches and you know players
- 18:56Speaker 3: and stuff.
- 18:56Speaker 2: But yeah, I.
- 18:58Speaker 3: Mean at the end of the year, you know, I
- 19:00Speaker 3: look back on it, I do wish that I threw
- 19:02Speaker 3: more fastballs. I think it just was playing so much
- 19:06Speaker 3: better this year that we could have utilized it way more.
- 19:10Speaker 3: I especially in that last outing. I feel like the
- 19:14Speaker 3: Crawford the single, I gave up the kind of like
- 19:18Speaker 3: blue pit to write. I don't know if it was
- 19:19Speaker 3: a blue or not. I maybe I have no idea,
- 19:22Speaker 3: but it just felt like, you know, the I threw
- 19:24Speaker 3: a change up almost off off the ground and he
- 19:27Speaker 3: sticks the bat out there and it's at the right field.
- 19:30Speaker 3: I feel like, you know, you buzz a fastball. He's
- 19:32Speaker 3: probably see you later. But you know, I felt like
- 19:35Speaker 3: that was a lot throughout the year I was giving
- 19:37Speaker 3: up kind of like those you know, ass out hits.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Guys are just reaching out there and just kind of
- 19:43Speaker 3: like scooping it over the second basement into right field.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Stuff like that.
- 19:49Speaker 3: So I feel like those are the times that you know,
- 19:51Speaker 3: you come out and let the ninety five eat, even
- 19:54Speaker 3: if it was I mean, I think I got Bobby
- 19:56Speaker 3: earlier in the year on a ninety four just literally
- 19:59Speaker 3: right down the middle, because I guess people just.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Just don't expect me to throw a fastball these days, So.
- 20:06Speaker 4: No, they don't, they don't. And and by the way,
- 20:10Speaker 4: I wasn't gonna bring up the last inning, so thanks
- 20:12Speaker 4: that you did it.
- 20:13Speaker 2: What are you gonna do?
- 20:15Speaker 4: I know, but it was it was. It was great
- 20:17Speaker 4: everything I know, but I was such a great game
- 20:20Speaker 4: and it was so exciting. And then I'm like, I
- 20:22Speaker 4: don't want to bring it up because you know the
- 20:24Speaker 4: way it went. So you brought it up. I'm glad
- 20:26Speaker 4: you've moved on. But it was all of a series.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it was. I mean that obviously.
- 20:31Speaker 3: I can't do anything about that any now, so I
- 20:34Speaker 3: can talk about it obviously, But what are you gonna do?
- 20:39Speaker 1: All right, Well, Tommy, thank you so much for joining
- 20:41Speaker 1: us today. We really really appreciate it. And best of
- 20:43Speaker 1: luck and your free agency journey this offseason.
- 20:46Speaker 2: All right, thank you guys. Awesome, See you boys,
