  Hey, everybody. Good morning from the chicken

  coop. So in a world where I keep
• 0:33
  hearing about how rude people are and about how many people
• 0:40
  don't want to do their jobs and how people are lazy and no one's
• 0:43
  showing up and la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la.

  I hear it constantly. I hear it from everybody.
• 0:49
  I hear it from my clients, I hear it from my family, all of
• 0:54
  it. And, and yes, is some of it
• 0:56
  true? Yes, maybe all of it's true.
• 0:59
  Maybe in all those instances it is in fact true.

  And remember how I always say two things can be true at the
• 1:06
  same time? So this is the second side of
• 1:09
  that coin. The flip side of that coin is
• 1:11
  there are great people out there.
• 1:13
  There are hard workers out there.
• 1:15
  There are people who are doing things the right way.
• 1:18
  There are people who are fantastic at their job.
• 1:22
  There are people who are willing to help you and let you go in
• 1:26
  front of you in line. There are people who want to
• 1:29
  hold doors. There are people who will make
• 1:32
  your day different. And Tractor Supply getting stuff
• 1:35
  for the girls and I go to check out.
• 1:39
  I've got this giant wagon filled with all these heavy bags for
• 1:42
  all their stuff that they need. And two gentlemen in front of me
• 1:46
  who are buying some sort of car part I know nothing about.
• 1:49
  Looks like it may be parts of the tractor because I know
• 1:52
  nothing about that. Look at me and say, you can go
• 1:55
  in front of us, ma'am. And I looked at them and I was
• 1:58
  like, you guys are so sweet, but I'm going to be a real pain in
• 2:00
  the butt because I've got to return something too.
• 2:02
  So while I appreciate the gesture and I want to thank you
• 2:05
  deeply, I declined. And they started laughing and
• 2:08
  they said, I love the fact that you just said you were going to
• 2:10
  be a pain in the butt. I'm like, I am, I don't have a
• 2:12
  receipt. The girl's going to struggle
• 2:14
  with it potentially. So I don't want to hold you guys
• 2:17
  up. And it was this really cute
• 2:19
  moment, but it reminded me of the fact that there are so many
• 2:23
  people out there that are good and there are so many people
• 2:27
  trying to do good, and there are so many people wanting to do
• 2:31
  good and then are doing good. And we get hung up on looking at
• 2:35
  the problems. And remember, our gift of being
• 2:39
  able to see the problems is supposed to be used like salt in
• 2:43
  short doses. You don't obsess on it and then
• 2:47
  you go and fix the problems or you work around them.
• 2:51
  You do not stay in the problem. You don't keep eating the salt
• 2:54
  because it gives you hypertension.
• 2:56
  It causes your body to go awry. So the important part of this
• 3:00
  message is who do you want to be?
• 3:02
  Do you want to be the person that complaints about it?
• 3:05
  Or do you actually want to be the person that's holding the
• 3:08
  doors? Do you want to be the person
• 3:10
  that's doing these things the right way that that are saying
• 3:13
  hello, smiling at people instead of walking with your head down,
• 3:17
  actually smile at people? Do you want to be the person
• 3:21
  that's, you know, giving the, the, the, the little tiny wave
• 3:25
  in traffic for someone to go in front of you?
• 3:28
  Do you wanna pay for somebody else's coffee?
• 3:30
  Are you sharing yourself? You know, one of the my favorite
• 3:34
  things that I love to do is buy books that are books that have
• 3:38
  changed my life and leave them in places for people to find
• 3:41
  them because I think that that makes a huge difference when you
• 3:45
  read something that's really compelling.
• 3:47
  So leave a book or give a book to somebody, actually give a
• 3:50
  book to somebody and say this book really helped me in my life
• 3:54
  and I just want to pay it forward and give the book to
• 3:56
  somebody else. You know, one of my favorite
• 3:59
  things that we do out here because my girls are such a gift
• 4:02
  to me and I have 43 chickens, 42 of them are hens, one is a
• 4:08
  rooster. So guess what happens?
• 4:11
  We have a lot of eggs and people often ask me, do you sell your
• 4:15
  eggs? And the answer is no, I do not
• 4:17
  sell my eggs. I give my eggs away.
• 4:19
  I give them to my friends, I give them to all the delivery
• 4:23
  people that come here, my UPS man, my FedEx guy, my mailman,
• 4:28
  everybody who shows up and helps out and delivers things.
• 4:32
  Part of the girls food, I buy it from Tractor Supply, shameless
• 4:36
  plug for them. Part of their my food comes from
• 4:39
  online scratch and pack because they have awesome, awesome,
• 4:43
  awesome food for them. Everybody gets eggs from these
• 4:47
  girls. The fire department, I'll stop
• 4:49
  by the fire department if I have a whole bunch of them give the
• 4:52
  mix. I love doing that and why it's
• 4:55
  so important to me is because I get to share and watch the
• 4:59
  excitement of people going, Oh my gosh, this is so awesome.
• 5:02
  Especially since their rainbow package of eggs looks so nice
• 5:06
  when you get it. But it's not just about me
• 5:08
  giving away their eggs because I have too many.
• 5:11
  It's about I want to pay it forward.
• 5:13
  I want people to feel good. So that's why I do it.
• 5:16
  It's about the excitement of this person will be so happy
• 5:20
  when they get them. So figure out what you can do in
• 5:22
  this world and go out there and pay it forward and make someone
• 5:25
  smile because I'm going to be the one holding the doors and
• 5:28
  I'm going to be the one smiling and passing out eggs and doing
• 5:32
  all all these little things just like I do this podcast every
• 5:34
  day. There is no money made in this
• 5:37
  podcast. But you know what?
• 5:38
  It's why don't they ask me all the time to monetize it?
• 5:41
  And I'm like, Nope, you know what?
• 5:43
  I I'm just giving this away and paying it forward.
