It's still libit. Welcome everybody. Welcome to this week's edition. It's a
0:20
real do show. EPISOE number seven hundred and thirty three for February twenty nine,
0:24
I think twenty twenty four. This is your we Elimination Chamber of Recap
0:29
and Review and aw Revolution, Preview and Predictions edition of ass r T to
0:35
you. I am one after the show, I am Jeff Pack joined every
0:40
single week on My Coast go only Doctor Trey Franklin, Doctor Trey. I
0:43
think this is the first time we've done a show on Leap Day, my
0:45
friend, which is crazy the thing because we've been going for twelve years.
0:50
I mean we've had at least three Leap Days pop up, so uh yeah,
0:55
I think this is the first time. So I think we like,
0:59
this is one of those things were like, I think we're running out of
1:02
do like first times and new things for us, So to do the show
1:06
on Leap Day is pretty pretty freaking special, I think. I don't know.
1:11
I was watching Good Morning America this this morning and they had a whole
1:12
thing about there was some cruise going on and everybody on the cruise was a
1:19
Leap Day baby. So people are like oh, I'm turning eleven, which
1:23
really means I'm forty four, or I'm turning fifteen, which means I'm sixty.
1:26
So there you go. All right, Okay, you know I did
1:32
think like that would really suck if you were born on a leap day because
1:38
you never really get to actually celebrate your birth date except for every four years.
1:46
Yeah. Except I don't know if you're at this point now, but
1:49
like even my family, they don't celebrate my birthday on my birthday. It's
1:53
always on the weekend somewhere. So yes, yes, yes, I just
1:57
look at it like it'd be in that same vein. I know people on
2:00
the show saying some people around the twenty eighth, and some people celebrate the
2:02
first, and some people just celebrate it on the twenty eighth and also on
2:07
the first, so they get a two day birthday. So it's just it's
2:08
just kind of all about perspective. My birthday lands on Mother's Day some years,
2:14
and then I'm just bad all day because I have to share it with
2:17
somebody. You know, it's like, yeah, forgets you, Yeah,
2:23
she has her birthday, Like why do I want to share money. I'm
2:27
just I'm just freeding when he comes to So let me ask you a question
2:29
on real quick birthdays, what would you rather have? Would you have your
2:31
birthday on Leap Day or would you rather have your birthday on like Christmas,
2:37
where there's you're already getting gifts and celebrations. I'll take leap Day just because
2:42
you know, both of my kids, Carvin and Sammy, their birthdays are
2:45
within three weeks of Christmas. So Carmen's two weeks after Christmas. SAMs it's
2:50
three weeks. I always kind of feel bad for them because a lot of
2:53
people will load up on Christmas and then on their birthday they just get a
2:58
card, and I'm like, it kind of sucks. I'm like, I'll
3:01
take a leap day just because, you know, I think my family would
3:07
still celebrated on a day other than Leap Day, other than the once every
3:09
four years, and then I would assume they would just go all out on
3:13
that fourth year. Yeah. Yeah, I guess I would pick the leap
3:15
day as well, because I think it would be pretty cool versus having your
3:19
birthday on Christmas where it gets completely overshadowed because everybody else is opening gifts.
3:25
It's like there's no spotlight on you, there's no cake. It's celebrating Christmas
3:30
and other people are getting gifts and celebration as well. Sometimes it's nice having
3:35
your own day and be a little egotistical. Yeah, what holiday would you
3:38
like to have your birthday? Lay it on? If you could pick a
3:40
holiday, July fourth, Memorial Day? I mean I'm a summer birthday already.
3:46
Yeah, I would like something where there's like a big barbecue already taking
3:50
place. Yeah. I was torn between Saint Patrick's Day because March is one
3:53
of my favorite months and it's just used to drink and I don't drink that
3:58
often. So if I have a holiday where I could base and around and
4:00
nobody could get mad at me. But I also like New Year's Day because
4:03
midnight fireworks go off. True, it is just like a celebration for the
4:08
entire day. That is a good one as well. That is a very
4:11
good one as well. Loough Trey, I like to pick there for New
4:13
Year's Day. Other weird factoids, speaking of years days, what have you
4:18
so? I recently came across that we have done enough episodes now where if
4:25
someone listened to the Still Real to Us show every day an episode every day,
4:30
it would take them two full years. We've done enough episodes now where
4:34
someone could listen to the entire history of the still real of the show one
4:39
day, every single day, listened to one episode for at least two years
4:44
straight. Now, Yeah, we really got to get one of our crack
4:47
team of super fans to actually dig into the oh the Book of Records,
4:55
the Gaateest Book of Records, to see what number of how many podcasts of
5:00
new episodes? We're gonnas qualified because I think we're we're happy. I mean
5:04
we're prettydamn close. Like we've never done a rew now and we're what episode
5:10
whatever you say? We are down seven, we're seven thirty three. I
5:12
mean, we've never done a best of We've done a new weekly episode every
5:16
single week for fourteen years straight. Yeah, I think we're probably knocking on
5:21
the door. And then we were doing podcasts before. It was like a
5:24
very niche popularity deal at that point, it was very very I guess it
5:30
was very niche before it became very popular. So on average, we're on
5:34
average an hour, I mean take out those some of those wrestled media shows
5:36
we did that were like two and a half hours. Yes, but if
5:41
you just took. You know, seven thirty three divided by twenty four,
5:44
you're looking at roughly thirty some hours. So some can listen to this show
5:47
NonStop for a day and a half and not sleep and listen to us all
5:53
like that'd be what thirty Yeah, no that's wrong, No, no,
5:56
no, I think it's a little bit more than that. So you do
5:57
seven thirty three divided by twenty four, right, it would be six days,
6:01
like thirty it would be it's just thirty and a half, So thirty
6:05
and a half days, so roughly almost entire straight of no sleep till Jeff
6:13
and I sleep. Basically, that would be that you would be starting at
6:15
like the original launch of the NXC game show that Wade Barrett and Daniel Brian
6:21
were in until today's episode. If you listen to us for no sleep every
6:28
episode for about thirty days straight. So if you have a month that you
6:34
just hate, just I hate January and February, no offense to January and
6:40
February lovers out there, Yeah, February is probably by least there a month
6:44
because most of sports have either ended or not really started. So like,
6:48
I think you're like me, Like I'm a big baseball fan and a big
6:51
football fan. So when one season ends, the other one hasn't started.
6:57
Us I'm stuck watching NBA. I mean, sports are great in January.
7:00
You've got college football, You've got NFL playoffs. If NBA is your thing,
7:04
You've got the Royal Rumble for your wrestling fans out there. But yeah,
7:09
I mean I could do without February. I mean we can just completely
7:12
blast that one off the calendar. March is definitely my jam. March Madness
7:16
baseball, starting the build up to WrestleMania, March, April, May,
7:20
June, July, August, parts like halfway through August probably my favorite stretch
7:26
of the entire year. Do you remember now, going into your radio history,
7:30
do you remember there's an old sports radio host. It was something the
7:34
sports Babe. Oh yeah, I remember sports Babe. Yeah. And she
7:39
once said, this is back when I was a kid. I mean I
7:41
was probably eighteen years old at in your show, and she said, as
7:45
a radio person, February was the worst thing. It was terrible. Broadcast
7:50
it was it was terrible. It was definitely one of the hardest things I
7:54
used to have to do when I was in sports. When I was in
7:57
Sports Radio in Hartford, Connecticut from twenty twelve to twenty fourteen. That was
8:03
brutal, and then the podcasts before that, we would do a daily podcast,
8:07
the Wheelhouse from nine to twenty twelve started becoming like once a week towards
8:11
the end of that show, and that was difficult as well during this time
8:16
because it's I remember, we would do like a bait. We would cover
8:20
a baseball team a day in Hartford, Connecticut, and we're gonna bring on
8:22
like a beat writer and talk about the Oakland A's. It was not riveting
8:26
stuff. And then you would try to do Mount Rushmoor's, which I know
8:31
a lot of people like parody now at this point and rightfully so, and
8:35
that would get people like their juices flowid flowing a little bit. But while
8:39
it was the worst, I think it was some of the most creative stuff
8:43
that you could come up with, and kind of how podcasting has revolutionized the
8:48
talk radio industry at this point. Yeah, it's always funny me when I'm
8:52
listening to because I like, for me in Alabama we get a Greg McElroy
8:56
and called Kublick's Our Mooring Show really good, Like they're really entertaining funds.
9:01
They always want to link stuff to their podcast. I'm like, guys,
9:05
I just listened to you for three hours. I don't know how much money
9:07
can take in one day. So but it does. It does lend creativity
9:11
because you know, you have to figure out something to talk about every single
9:16
day. So that's when you know, those February months are when you come
9:18
up with stuff and you're like, ooh, we could follow this up,
9:20
you know, with something else for the podcast. And I mean you and
9:22
I were I've always talked about that too, with other stuff like drough the
9:26
pandemic era, and we were just trying to stay busy and there's nothing to
9:28
talk about. It's like, let's try this, let's try this, let's
9:33
try this. So, you know, February and you know pandemics creativity.
9:37
Yeah, well, I mean this is one of those shows that's definitely very
9:41
easy. We will recap w W Elimination Chamber, we'll preview aw Revolution,
9:46
we'll look at the latest updates of the wrestle Media card, and we'll also
9:50
pay tribute here to Sting. So this is one of those shows that is
9:54
a layup for dout Trey and I. But again which I've said here from
9:58
time to time on the podcast. One of my favorit favor episode or my
10:01
favorite episodes to do is when we don't have anything really to talk about,
10:05
and that's what makes it a lot of fun. And there's a lot of
10:09
ples, a lot of pay per views coming our way here in these next
10:11
couple of weeks. But give me a show where it's like blank canvas,
10:16
look at what's going on the news, have some like rhetorical conversation about your
10:20
fandom as a professional wrestling fan, like before the show ever recorded. Tonight,
10:24
Doctor Treyn and I spent like ten minutes about live events we've been to
10:28
and things that have happened at them that are kind of memorable and or very
10:33
memorable in some of the cases. And that's like a podcast that I'll now
10:37
keep in the back of my brain that we could always do and have a
10:39
lot of fun with. So it is WrestleMania season. It is a lot
10:43
of stuff to cover. Let's get to Elimination Chamber. Pl recap review of
10:48
this past Saturday from Optus Stadium in Burstwood, Western Australia, Australia. Doctor
10:52
Trey, did you watch live? No, I actually got along with my
10:56
wife all week. Good man, I didn't get kicked out of the bedroom.
11:03
I almost made it because I've had a bit of asomnia lately. I
11:07
don't know if I told you before like this the last month and a half,
11:09
I was figured like three to four hours a day at most, and
11:13
then I'll have one day week where I crash. It just so happened.
11:16
I made it till about two am Saturday morning before my brain just completely shut
11:20
down. So I almost made it all the way to Elimination Chamber, but
11:24
not quite. I did wake up. It was seven thirty eight am on
11:28
the East coast at that point did put it on, and I saw that
11:33
they were in the middle of the men's Elimination Chamber match. I then,
11:37
you know, reound it a little bit, watch a little bit of the
11:39
pre show for a little bit, and then carrying on my day. And
11:43
then about lunchtime on Saturday, I sat down because there was really nothing to
11:46
do, still cold here in the Northeast, and was sitting down watching Elimination
11:52
Chamber, and I loved it. I thought it was great. More We're
11:56
gonna have more pay per views that have really bad time or the United States
12:01
folks, because I think this is outside of WrestleMania. There's a string coming
12:07
up here where it's just a bunch of pay per views outside the US.
12:09
At this point, I think right after WrestleMania in Philly will be backlashed in
12:16
France. But yeah, it's it's different. I'm not opposed to it,
12:20
doctor Trey. I'm just laughing at the like the contrast and perceived stereotypical fandom
12:31
between Philadelphia and France. Yeah, it's gonna be does line up with Philly.
12:39
They're kind of a rough like roughneck crowd. They like their fights,
12:43
but France just kind of seems like it needs to be sophisticated. Like they're
12:46
drinking cappuccino slightly. Uh you know applause there smoking a cigarette probably would be
12:54
my guess. So some bringing cheese. Yeah. Yeah, they're all wearing
12:58
the the hats and the and the scarves in the stands. And there's a
13:03
mine. There's just a random mine doing the box. Yeah. If there's
13:07
not a mine at this pl E in France, I will be sorely disappointed.
13:11
Like Kevin Owens, stun's a mine at the p l E. This
13:15
is gonna be something we're gonna go back into be Like, remember we talked
13:16
about this in late February and the leap day, and here we are.
13:20
It's Kevin Owens stunning a mime uh pre show match Kabookie Warriors if he Indi
13:24
Hartwell and Cannas Larray to retain the WA Women's Tack Team champions. If we
13:28
did not predict that match. It was announced on Thursday Friday by WI dot
13:33
Com. I thought this is a great start to the show. Dowt to
13:35
Trey. I was very happy for Indy Hartwell to get this opportunity in front
13:39
of the hometown crowd. H that's basically the whole point of this match was
13:41
to give her a hometown pop and a memorable moment in her home country,
13:48
which I'm down for it. Kabookie Warriors should be going in the WrestleMania as
13:50
the champs. And shout out to Cannis Laray for having some Bluey inspired gear
13:56
at this is like she had Wow, did not recognize that it was Bingo
14:01
Bluis sidekick, Like apparently Johnny Johnny had the Bluey gear somewhere else, but
14:07
she got to wear a biggo gear. I I only saw that because I
14:09
saw Johnny posted on Instagram and I was like, as the father of a
14:13
toddler, I can appreciate the the fandom for it, but yeah, it
14:18
was a I don't know about you, but like just the overwhelming number of
14:22
Australians that WW has brought onto the roster over the last few years, compared
14:28
to when you and I were kids. It was like out Back Jack and
14:31
that was basically it. Yes, yes, yeah, basically, Well,
14:35
Skinner was from Florida. That's Steve Kerr. I thought Skinner. I thought
14:39
Skinner was supposed to be an Australian character. That was Florida. He was
14:43
a gator hunter. Okay, okay, so a little bit different to the
14:48
Outback Jacket and Skinner, but just uh, they just had a white trash
14:50
it up a little bit more to go from out Back. He was like
14:54
Louisiana or something, right. Yeah, yeah, but like just the fact
14:58
that you could basically almost have entire pally it has somebody from Australia in almost
15:03
every single match. I thought it was pretty cool. So and no iconics
15:09
and you know which is which may be sad, no, but the iconics
15:13
made their impact felt on NXT on Tuesday when the chairman from aw now is
15:18
back in NXT. It was iconics by proxy, true true true. Next
15:24
match year is Becky Lynch defeening Biancabella Live Morgan, Tiffany Stratt, Naomi and
15:28
ra Kel Rodriguez in the elimination Chamber match to win a shot at the WE
15:31
Women's World Championship at WrestleMania forty. Not surprised by this result, as Doctor
15:37
Tray and I both predicted Becky Lynch. They did hype it up on the
15:43
the event to kickoff WRESTLEMANI in Las Vegas or in the super Bowl week.
15:48
I thought Tiffany Stratton had a breakout performance in this one. It did feel
15:52
like that this match was a little bit step or two behind. I don't
15:56
know if that's the jet lag, what have you. Just wasn't as smooth
15:58
as it normally is among the ladies. But definitely you have to figure that's
16:03
ultimately tough because you know, days prior they were in the US and here
16:07
they are eighteen hours later. It feels like in Australia. I did enjoy
16:11
the match, nonetheless, I did like the finishing sequence and now Becky's on
16:17
her way to Wrestle Many forty Doctor Trey. Yeah. And just when I
16:19
was, you know, going through this whole match and watching everything, I'm
16:22
I'm paying attention to who pins who and everything else like that, and I
16:27
was like, Okay, Tiffany, of course, I just said, breakout
16:30
match for her on the brand. I mean, the crowd was totally in
16:33
the Tiffany Stratton as well. And she's got, like if she's not who,
16:37
this brand is built around the women's division, like her and Riha in
16:41
Bianca in five years and in Jade there was the boat she's got. I
16:45
mean, she's the prototypical female wrestler for WW. Just beautiful and actually getting
16:52
much much better in the ring. Liv Morgan getting getting a roll up,
16:56
getting a victory over Bianca bell Aer, I thought I was pretty chung.
16:57
And how many people can say they and Bianca Bellair and Ronda RALSI. I
17:02
mean there's just a handful of people at most, not many, not many.
17:06
So I think that's big for Live as well. Who I learned today
17:10
was a Hooters girl at one point in New Jersey. Didn't know that,
17:12
but and then Becky in the way I forgot that. Becky and Rhea faced
17:17
off once before. I thought they had never faced off in singles actually,
17:21
but they faced off once before. But were they face off? Do you
17:23
remember it was NXT actually was it one of those deals where Becky came over?
17:30
Yeah? Yeah, I think it was like during that Survivor series built
17:33
up when they first launched on live on Wednesdays. Yeah, I think.
17:37
I think you're absolutely right. So they've only faced off once before. But
17:40
for me, if we never got Becky and Ronda, this is probably the
17:45
next best on paper matchup if they keep it a singles match, which we'll
17:48
probably talk about later on. Yeah, yeah, yeah, so we'll definitely
17:52
talk about that. Yeah, I'll have to find I feel like that it
17:53
did. It took place November twentieth, twenty nineteen. It was live on
17:59
NX towards the Road to Survivors series. So I can't remember what I did
18:03
yesterday, but I'll remember when Becky and Rhea wrestled each other Judgment Day defeats
18:08
New Catch Republic to retain the Mute Watag Team Championship. Doctor Trey and I
18:11
both at the Judgment Day. I thought this was a great tag team match.
18:15
I am super happy for baiting done to get this opportunity in Perth.
18:18
Finn Baler must really respect the hell out of Pete Dunn because he really sold
18:23
the joint manipulation move on his fingers, which is not the first time he's
18:26
done that. He did it during a I think it was NXT Vengeance Day
18:30
during the pandemic era of NXC when Finn came back and Finn sold that pretty
18:37
hard as well. Priests and Ballor have really become a great tag team over
18:41
time after being thrown together. You have to figure that the window on them
18:45
remaining the tag team is probably closing, especially with that briefcase deadline coming closer
18:52
and closer. So I think if you're a fan of watching these two guys
18:55
tag with each other, which I am, you should be enjoying this right
18:57
now. Fun match to Trey as Judgment Day retains. You know, I'm
19:03
watching this match, it went like, okay, if they had this match
19:07
four months ago, probably not as much offense given to the New Catch Crew
19:11
No New Catcher Republic Public. Yeah, sorry, it's it's the it's the
19:15
whole no quarter Catch Crew and the New Catch Republic is messing me up.
19:21
But I think Finn loves giving you fellow United Kingdom wrestlers some love and his
19:27
matches, I mean and plung you, I mean you, with only four
19:30
matches on the main card, you got to go kind of give some time
19:33
to some other matches. But this was a fantastic match and a way to
19:37
really help get Tyler Bait and Pete Dunn over together to keep them as a
19:41
strong tag team going forward, especially when either they split the tag belts or
19:47
you know, somebody new gets the tag belt. And just a really really
19:51
phenomenal tag team match. And and you know, like you said, Priests
19:53
and Balor have become a very very solid tag team. I won't put them
19:59
up in the hierarchy of great tag great yeah yeah, but entertaining. But
20:04
for a tag team that was thrown together in not an odd ballpairing, they
20:11
coagulated very well together. Next match here is Drew McIntyre defitting Randy Orton and
20:15
Bobby Lashley, La Night, Kevin Owens and Logan Paul in the eliminated chamber
20:18
match to win a w World aweight Champion match against Seth Freakin Rollins at Wrestuming
20:22
forty dout Tray and I both had Drew mcatyre in this one. This is
20:26
a great chamber match. I felt like there were spots that were intentional to
20:32
welcome Logan Paul into WWE, into their world, like lastly spearing them through
20:37
the chamber pod. He I felt like he was initiated during this match.
20:41
I loved how the La Night Aj Styles story moved forward, while the surprising
20:45
Logan Paul Randy Oran story maybe beginning from this match. Fun match. I
20:51
felt like all six guys did an awesome job. I am happy that Big
20:55
Drew gets another WrestleMania title shot as his storylining character development the last several months
20:59
has really been good and really captivating. You almost forget that Drew and Seth
21:04
fought each other until they mentioned it during their promo on Monday, just a
21:07
couple of months ago at Crown Jewel in November, and I enjoyed that build.
21:12
I was looking forward to that match, and I fully expect that this
21:15
is going to be very entertaining and fun match at WrestleMania. Very happy with
21:18
Drew McIntire, Doctor Troy he is right now, I would say early February
21:26
twenty ninth. If you're saying to me, okay, who's been the twenty
21:30
twenty four Wrestle of the Year so far, I'm saying Drew McIntyre. That's
21:34
interesting. I can't knock it because Seth really hasn't wrestled, Cody's been tied
21:40
up with a hist of Roman, hasn't been on TV the AW. I
21:44
mean you could throw someone with Joe and Christian Cage up in that list as
21:47
well for just early year. But for WWE, yes, I probably leaned
21:51
Drew. Still not quite sure. Excuse me for sick. Sorry, Oh
21:57
Katie Perry's on TV. I had to stage for something. It makes sense
22:00
you're allergic, Yeah I am. Maybe you're a firework Jeff, but you
22:07
know, for for what they have going on, Like, I'm still a
22:11
little confused by Drew's promo afterwards. Wow, I sneeze in pairs. If
22:21
I sneezed once, I have to sneeze twice. So but that promo was
22:25
kind of a little bit baby facious face it. I don't know what they're
22:29
quite doing with Drew, I think, and when we get to wrestle Ani
22:32
predictions, I think I have an idea of what they're doing. But overall
22:36
that, you know, that match was fantastic. It was great. I
22:38
love like I love the analogy about the welcoming the WW like the emission chamber
22:41
because it mission. It may be immediately think of like Austin Theory and Broclesner
22:45
in the chamber from a couple of years ago with theory got f five off
22:49
the top of the chair, off the top of the pod. But yeah,
22:53
like it's I'm wondering because you're you're kind of continuing on the Kevin Owens,
22:57
Logan Paul stuff, but now logan pause, the Randy Orton stuff,
23:00
and then you have the aj Eli and isup. I wonder if they're gonna
23:04
do multiple matches or just tie all that into one big giant the United States
23:08
title match as well, So that'll be interesting which way they go with that
23:12
for those five guys at WrestleMania, because it was five SmackDown guys and one
23:18
Raw guy in that match. Yeah, Drew's character has definitely been interesting lately.
23:21
I mean, if you notice on Raw two he was high fiving fans
23:25
on his way to the ring. It's a tweener character, which if anybody
23:29
can get this reference, props to them. There's very few times where you
23:33
see heel kind of portray a Babyface is right in his conviction as to why
23:45
he's behaving the way he is because he's been so ruffled by what the Bloodline
23:48
did and everybody accepting jay Uso and immediately forgetting everything that he did, even
23:53
though he took advantage of the bloodline helping him a couple of weeks ago against
23:59
Cody Road. It reminds me a lot of nineteen ninety five Diesel, which
24:03
is a little bit surprising. I remember that because Diesel said he would not
24:07
high five anybody unless they had Diesel gloves, which obviously led to some nice
24:14
probably merchandise sales for him. I am someone who owns those Diesel gloves.
24:18
I still have them somewhere in my house. And yeah, it's it's interesting
24:25
because you don't know if he's a heel, you don't know if he's a
24:27
Babyface. Sometimes it's a natural tweeer and I'm kind of digging it. I'm
24:30
happy for Big Drew he gets this opportunity again, and we'll talk about a
24:34
little bit more about the path of Russell mainety forty coming out of this match
24:38
in just a few moments. And then finally, Dot Trey Rea Ripley defeats
24:41
Niajax to retain the WA Women's World Championship. You and I both had Ria
24:45
Ripley. It was a solid, hard hitting, physical match straight to the
24:49
point. The build up for this match was really good. We talked about
24:52
on last week's podcast. Nia Jacks was like one of the most equal competitors
24:57
heading into a match with Rie Ripley sometimes since he actually probably won the title
25:02
and Rustlman A thirty nine. It was great to see if Rhea overcoming insturmutable
25:07
odds to win this match in her own country, and it was a good
25:10
opportunity for her to celebrate his career, her career, her successful career in
25:15
her own country. So Ria Ripley retains Doctor Trey. Yeah, that's it's
25:18
exactly. The match is exactly kind of what I thought. It's kind of
25:22
the old h I use the term hoss fight for the men. I don't
25:26
know if that's an appropriate term for a women's match, buddy. It was
25:30
like just, you know, two tough, strong women just beaming the crap
25:34
out of each other. For all the knocks that Naya gets, the believability
25:41
factory of what she does, whether it's actually killing the person or not.
25:45
Uh, it always looks like it does, so I give her a lot
25:48
of credit for that, and then booking Ria like a babyface in Australia makes
25:52
a ton of stay as the crowd went home happy. Uh but yeah,
25:56
just a good solid performance by both those ladies in that match and the carryover
26:00
on to Raw this week I thought was well done as well. Pay per
26:03
forview prediction record from Elimination Chamber we both went four and oh coming out of
26:08
this one. Now we are I'm at eleven and three. Doctor Trey's at
26:11
ten and four. Match of the night and event rating. My match of
26:15
the night was the men's chamber match and I gave the event a solid four
26:19
point zero out of five Doctor Trey. I think on paper I would say
26:23
that the men's match as well, but I think for the crowd, I'm
26:26
gonna give it to Rea and Naya, just because I thought that was a
26:29
really hard hitting match and that crowd was super amped up for it as well,
26:33
like they were so into Ria and by proxy hating Naya. Energy wise,
26:40
I thought that match, especially to follow the men's chamber match, they
26:42
maintained the energy, if not amped it up a littpit so I give those
26:45
girls a lot of credit, so I'll give them the match that I and
26:48
I was at a four point two, so I really enjoyed the elimination chamber.
26:52
Yeah, it was a very very fun, solid pl to watch at
26:55
any point you wanted to over the weekend. So props to WWE for del
27:00
delivering in Perth, Australia this past Saturday. Coming out of this one.
27:03
Now the WRESTLEMANI forty card roundup, like we'd like to do here every single
27:07
week. Confirm now doctor Trey re Ripley defending the WA Women's World Championsip against
27:12
Becky Lynch and Seth Freaking Ronds defending the w W World aweight Championship against Drew
27:18
McIntyre. Your thoughts on those two new confirmed matches. So Seth and Drew
27:23
is interesting to me because of the way Drew's booking himself, because this is
27:26
where I can see Damian Prize cashing in, Because if Drew wins the match,
27:30
then Damien cashes in. That makes Drew kind of the babyface. Gives
27:34
Seth a little bit of time off to fully recover from everything he has going
27:38
on, and then Drew can feel screwed over again and still make him kind
27:45
of the anti hero, which w loves to book one anti hero out of
27:48
stuff, So it'll be interesting if that's the route that go, especially if
27:52
Seth gets tied up in bloodline stuff on night one, it has to come
27:56
back and wrestle on night two. That gives Seth an excuse to lose,
28:00
Drew a reason to win, Damien a reason to cash in, so it
28:03
ties a lot of ends together. And then Becky and Ria on paper is
28:07
one of those dream matches that we haven't really had featured, but with the
28:12
stuff we saw many night, with the live Morgan stuff, with the Nya
28:15
Jack stuff, this could easily become a four whee match, which on paper,
28:18
once again, I'd be fine with it because all four of those girls
28:22
have really deserved the liveline because they've Nya's had Nya might be my MVP of
28:26
the women's division if Ria wasn't on the show like the last few months,
28:32
Like Nya's character has been really really good for about six months now, which
28:36
I never thought I would say. So, Nya has been phenomenal live coming
28:40
backs phenomenal, and then Becky and Ri are just stalwarts of the division.
28:44
I can see that being sniffed out here right now of Live and Naya Jacks
28:48
being added to this one, I ultimately don't think they will, and I
28:53
don't think they should because I think Ria and Becky on its own is a
28:57
wrestling equality match. Maybe that's something that you do to follow up coming out
29:03
of Wrestlemanni at Backlash in France. But I would not be surprised by that
29:07
direction either, Doctor Trey. If they decided to add Ni Jackson or and
29:11
Live Morgan to this one, well, I'm just I'm just I'm hoping Wie
29:15
learns from their previous wrestle mating and I'm gonna say mistake where we had Becky
29:19
and Rawda and Charlotte got added to the match. Yeah, that was bad.
29:22
So I'm hoping we just get Ria Becky one O one and we don't
29:26
get Nigh and Live added to this match. But yes, in France,
29:30
it would make a ton of stence to do a four week Well, if
29:33
I remember correctly it, I think it was Becky added to the match.
29:38
They went to Ronda Charlotte Path for three five right, Well, Becky got
29:44
banned, yes, and was injured. Remember that bullshit that they pulled in
29:48
creatively, yeah, and then so it became Charlotte and Rauda, but in
29:52
reality we don't really think Becky was injured. It was storyline, Yeah,
29:56
that was That was just very very bad booking, all right. So then
30:02
rumored expected. I fully expect this podcast drops on Friday morning. I fully
30:07
expect Roman Reigns on the Rock versus Cody Roads and Seth freaking Rollins to probably
30:11
become official tonight on SmackDown Doctor Trey uh is Rock going to be have they
30:17
said Rocks on the show or now he is? He's on the next three
30:19
smackdowns? Actually, Okay, then I think there. I don't know if
30:22
it will get you officially added yet, but I think this will start to
30:26
lead to it being officially eye because they still have to breakdown where they're going
30:30
to do it. So there are rumors that Cody and Seth are confirmed for
30:33
SmackDown tonight as well. Well, they should have at least have the confrontation.
30:38
If they do tonight, they want to surpribed. But I think you'll
30:40
be confirmed with them the next two smackdowns, So either this one or the
30:42
next one. And then we talked about La Knight and aj styles and Logan
30:47
Paul defending the United States Championship assuming right now against Randy Orton being added LA
30:52
Knight AJ Styles not a surprise. That's been something on our list for a
30:56
while. Logan Paul and Randy Orton direction is something that's very yeah, because
31:02
I still think Kevin Owens gets added to the match. At some point.
31:06
You may have to do a three way, you may do a five way.
31:07
I mean, wrestle Mania was always big on ladder matches, you know,
31:11
thing for the interkind title ladder matches, all this stuff back in the
31:14
day. I wouldn't be surprised to see you like l A. Knight and
31:18
AJ get added into that to make it a much bigger match. Because Triple
31:22
H doesn't like super like like match counts. He likes smaller like, shorter
31:29
like, less matches more time. So I could see them just combining all
31:33
five of those guys into one match or one triple threat for the US title
31:37
and then L A. Knight in AJ Styles on their own. I wouldn't
31:41
be surprised if you see six six matches each night of WrestleMania right now.
31:45
To your point, I don't think you're gonna get like a grandiose card like
31:51
we've had in recent memory. Yeah. Even last year, he's kind of
31:55
cut the match number was cut down from previous wrestle MANI so we've seen that
31:59
progression. I mean, hell, it was like fifteen but spread out over
32:01
two nights. Yeah, I mean, I mean hell, I mean we
32:04
just did. We just did a pay per view with four matches. Yeah,
32:07
and the one before that was four matches. Yeah, like that that's
32:09
crazy load number of matches, but you're given the guys more time than before.
32:14
We're back in the day, you'd have eight matches, but some of
32:15
these matches would be five minutes, seven minutes, and that's it. So
32:19
it's what made takeovers so successful back in the day under Triple H's rain and
32:23
NXD, I mean, granted, chamber matches and the Rumble were going to
32:27
take close to, if not longer than, an hour. Definitely the Rumble
32:30
will I think both chamber matches nearly took an hour as well. One of
32:35
these days. What they said down I kind of go back through previous chamber
32:37
you know, let us your chamber shows and be like, look, they
32:38
had two chamber matches, they shot four or five matches in around it.
32:42
Yeah, yeah, you know, and it's like, oh, they had
32:44
eight matches, but two of them were chambers. How the hell they fit
32:46
that? Where we just did a ple with four matches and it still hit
32:51
three hours. I used to be that the quantity outweighed the quality at the
32:57
end of a show, which I guess could be up for an aw debate
33:00
as well. But I've been totally fine with the amount of matches that they've
33:06
put up there because the quality of the shows that they've been putting up have
33:08
been a lot of fun. I think that was the same thing that we
33:10
saw with wargames back at Survivor series as well. I think the last three
33:15
WWE pay per views, if I without anything in front of me here,
33:19
I think they were a maximum four matches each one of those cards. Yeah,
33:23
I think I'm I'm a little bit on the fence to me. I
33:29
think I would like to have maybe one or two more matches, But you
33:31
can still even at six. I think you get tired, though, I
33:35
think you get tired. Well, I think you can still, Like I
33:37
mean, back in the day, we'd have eight to ten, like eight
33:40
matches on the w pay per views. You know, I'm a. I'm
33:44
with you, But our biggest complain about aw cards, which we will cover
33:46
here shortly, is like they're way too long. Like that show will start
33:51
at six thirty with the pre show and it won't get done until midnight,
33:53
And that is way too fucking long for a company that wants to do nine
33:57
to ten pay per views this year. That no, I agree that.
34:00
I'm saying, like, for WW if they did six matches, but maybe
34:02
hey, take two of the matches, cut five or ten minutes off those
34:06
matches that are taking twenty five thirty minutes. Yeah, honey, add those
34:10
because you, once again you're getting some guys who aren't being on plas enough
34:15
to be featured. You know, I think the sweet I think the sweet
34:19
spot for pay per view length is like three hours, doctor Troy. No,
34:22
no, I'm saying you can still do six matches in three hours.
34:25
You're just taking a little bit of time from Do you think you have the
34:29
same quality? Yeah? I thought think the quality would be would be pretty
34:32
damn good. I just don't know if it would be the one. I'll
34:36
say this, the one thing they've been doing lately to compensate for that is
34:39
having bigger raws and bigger smackdowns and featuring some of the guys who aren't going
34:45
to be on the ple in prime spots on those shows, which kind of
34:49
offsets in a little bit. At least it makes it a little bit more
34:51
even. It was just, you know, if I'm spending you know,
34:53
luckily I'm not spending sixty bucks for a pay per view for WWE, but
34:59
if I was, I just you know, we didn't hear the women's tag
35:01
bells to see you know, Guph's not on the show. Uh, you
35:07
know, the US Champions and you know, like he's in the match,
35:09
but he's not featured in the I mean, well his match, his title
35:13
isn't on the line. You still got some of the younger guys that we're
35:15
seeing on a ross backdown not on the pl I'm just saying, like,
35:19
you could you know, squeeze one maybe two more in there, because your
35:22
roster's much bigger, you know, on the main roster than he was at
35:27
NXT. NXC was like, yeah, let's focus on the four good quality
35:30
matches we know we're going to get, and everything else can stay on TV.
35:35
I think I think outside of like the gimmick stuff that we've seen lately,
35:39
Like the last three pay per views, you will see like a maximum
35:42
of six car matches. And I'm actually like really digging that. Maybe a
35:46
week or two before the pay per view, like the big matches that week
35:51
is like the Intercontinental Championship on the line or the tag team titles, Like
35:54
I really like that. I think that's a really smart business sense to do
36:00
those types of matches as well. Kind of it's making up for those guys
36:04
not I mean, you know, when was the last time dom was on
36:06
a PL. You know, Domin's probably the most hated you know, wrestling.
36:08
Yeah, it's been a while, so it's like, you know,
36:12
that's what I'm saying, Like you could tatle Yeah, you could add another
36:15
match or two. I don't count the rumble, everybody's in the rumble,
36:20
but you could add another like you didn't have broad Breaker on this PL and
36:23
that's like your big New SmackDown Superstar. You know, you can squeeze another
36:28
match or two in and give those guys a little bit of feature time and
36:32
still get the same quality. You might have one squash match, one quick
36:37
match, but you know, if you threw Braun out there against a mid
36:40
card SmackDown heel and he won in seven miss just to be featured on the
36:45
pl E to show that, hey, this is the guy we're pushing.
36:47
Then that would be horrible either. See. I think you and I look
36:52
at pl e's like the way that the pay per view model has always been.
36:54
I think WWE has changed their mindset on PLS hence the name change,
37:00
and looked at it as just like an extra raw or a bigger raw or
37:05
SmackDown for that month that brings in a lot of money and it's gonna be
37:08
in a huge venue. I don't think that they look at it like they
37:12
used to. I think for the aw does I think the Big four they
37:15
may stield to me like once again in my And it's also because it's on
37:21
with it being on Peacock and gout, spinning sixty bucks and the like.
37:23
The payouts and the wrestlers are different now as well, you know, because
37:28
they used to get pay per from bonus money, and I think they still
37:30
get a pl bonus money, but you know their cuts getting they're getting money
37:35
cut in from the networks or the Peacocks have scription right, So yeah,
37:38
I think the model of payouts is different because if I had that's back in
37:42
the day, they used to throw everybody on WP on WrestleMania just that way,
37:45
everybody got a bonus, and they don't really do that as much anymore,
37:51
all right, and then some other matches here. I think we got
37:52
to keep going here with the WRESTLMANI card forty card round up coming out of
37:57
this one elimination Chamber, maybe Grayson Waller versus Austin Theory possibly. Did you
38:06
see Bishop's comments about taking Theory off TV? Yeah, I didn't. I
38:08
didn't necessarily agree with that. I think you've got to figure out what you're
38:13
doing with Theory, uh, in one way or the other. Like,
38:15
I think Waller's one of those guys that you can look at, this guy's
38:17
gonna be like the United States Champion by the end of the year. Like
38:22
I think they feel like he's the personal heel that they could build a big
38:24
card division around. But Theory's just gotta get better as promos. That's what's
38:30
I think to me, that's what's really holding it back. I think like
38:31
like Als is kind of a Basebob says, like he has a look,
38:35
he has the moves, he can do everything. You want to got to
38:37
be of a wrestler. He just like it's like Stina said back before there
38:40
wrestling namaction. He just has doesn't feel like he has a heart or a
38:44
soul and that part's not connecting with the crowd again. Uh, and then
38:47
I think one that may be building here from Raud this past week, Doctor
38:52
Trey is Gunther defending the Intercontinental Championship either against an individual or multiple people names
38:59
that were throwing a Sammy's Ain, Dominic Masterio, Chad Gable, Bronson Reid
39:04
from this past week's edition of RAW. I wouldn't be surprised if they bring
39:07
back the ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania. Yeah, if they
39:10
don't do it for the US title, I can see them doing it for
39:13
the inn cond Zone. And by the way, if they do that for
39:15
the airdo title. What a better way to get the belt off Gunther without
39:21
having him take a pitfall, because then you can fill them up as the
39:24
next heeled champion challenging whoever the babyface champion is. And the guy hasn't been
39:30
pinned in a singles match since he's been in WWE, so that's a good
39:35
way for him to take a take kind of take a loss and not actually
39:37
get pinned in the title. Yeah, it would be interesting if they're looking
39:43
to take the championship off of them, I guess that would be the time
39:45
to do it. Would be in the match where he can't get pinned,
39:47
which is always the easy way around it. Anything that we're missing here Doctor
39:52
Trey from the WRESTLEMANI forty card round up, I felt like those are the
39:54
ones that I saw this past week for rumored or expected. Yeah, because
40:00
some of the ones that we've talked about before. Lastly, the profits against
40:05
wasn't really showing on this on the PLA, things like that we haven't really
40:07
had that They're still going back and forth, but it wasn't really any build
40:10
up on any of these undercard matches I was talking about earlier switching gears to
40:15
AW. We'll preview predict AW Revolution here in just a few minutes. But
40:21
the big news on this one, Doctor Trey is obviously Sting's last match.
40:25
You never say never in professional wrestling, just ASPC Flair, but this is
40:30
going to be his last match this Sunday in Greensboro, North Carolina, Greensboro
40:37
Coliseum, in North Carolina. I have probably a shorter history, which is
40:45
going to sound ludicrous because I'm going to like say, it's forty years or
40:50
thirty years at this point for me that I've been watching Sting as compared to
40:53
you, as a guy who watched NWAWCW growing up. I was introduced to
40:59
WCW once the Northern kid here, once Hulk Hogan went over to WW in
41:05
nineteen ninety four. That's how I got introduced to Sting, and then Sting
41:07
became one of my favorite homegrown WW guys standalone WSW guys for the rest of
41:15
the entire time that I watched WW from ninety four till two thousand and one
41:21
when they closed. Obviously, Sting was the face of w CW. I
41:25
did not watch him much in TNA and Impact Wrestling the run that he had
41:30
there, but his run in TNA Impact Wrestling was phenomenal as well. Another
41:35
thing that you can speak to on this one. Doctor Trey obviously never thought
41:39
he would end up in WWE. He did. He wrestled at WrestleMania,
41:45
something I never thought he would do. Lost against Triple H. We're not
41:47
here to talk about that result and what he did what happened that day,
41:52
but obviously his career was at that point in time cut short as he got
41:57
injured in the match at Night of Champions with I Guess against then just seth
42:01
non freaking Rollins, and then he was doing We Cameos, joined the Hall
42:07
of Fame, spoke on DVD specials Now and Again, and then popped up
42:10
in AW in December twenty twenty at Winter's Coming. Has been aligned with Darby
42:16
Allen this entire time. I think his first match back was one of those
42:20
cinematic matches at AW Revolution twenty twenty one against Brian Cage and Ricky Starks in
42:25
a match that was pretty cool when you look back at the cinematic matches that
42:30
were taking place during that time. And then his entire run with AW being
42:34
typed with Darby Allen has been really well done, really well executed. The
42:37
times that he does wrestle, they make it count and it's impactful and it's
42:42
fun and you kind of forget that he is what I just read today,
42:45
sixty four years old. I don't know if I have that right. Is
42:51
he really sixty four years old? Which is amazing for sixty four years old,
42:57
but his run in AW has basically capped sixty four years old, nearly
43:01
sixty five. He'll be turning sixty five on March twentieth. AW really allowed
43:07
him to go out on his terms. Whether you like AW or not,
43:09
I am a fan of AW, and they did him right since he joined
43:14
the company in December twenty twenty, and they did him right on his way
43:16
out so far. Really looking forward to this Sunday's match and how this all
43:22
takes place. But Doctor Trey, that's what Sting has meant to me in
43:27
professional wrestling. When I look back at Sting's career, I think I'm gonna
43:30
most remember him being the face of WW. And obviously I later watched his
43:36
stuff pre ninety four in WCW thanks to WA Network DVD's YouTube what have you,
43:43
and I'll also remember this AW run. Quite honestly, I'll remember him
43:46
as the face of WW. Loved when he transformed to the Crow gimmick,
43:51
even though Starr K ninety seven to not have a great payoff him showing up
43:55
in WI Shock the hell out of me. That was really cool and a
43:59
lot of fun. I think that was Series two thousand and fifteen, and
44:04
then the AW run, I think is how I almost remember him. How
44:07
do how will you most remember Sting as we prepare for his prepare for his
44:13
last match this Sunday. Oh so, for me, I have been watching
44:17
Sting Russell for nearly forty years. I was watching Mid South wrestling when he
44:23
first debuted as the Blade Runners with him and the Olga Warrior, who at
44:28
the time I believe was known as Rock or both is Rock and I think
44:31
was Rock and Blade, and then they changed Sting's name the Sting right on
44:37
the time. And then he joined up with Ednie Gilbert and Rick Steiner as
44:39
part of Hot Stuff Incorporated and then transitioned over into w CW. Had been
44:45
from there. So yeah, it's been He's the last remnant, the last
44:51
active wrestler to my initial wrestling fandom is State and so for me, this
44:55
is kind of literally like the end of an era for me. For me,
45:01
like the imprint of the State. I remember what, you know,
45:04
Clashing Champions eighty seven going sixty minutes to a draw, you know, and
45:10
then just his progression through w CW becoming the face of the company. I
45:15
thought that the introduction of the Crow character was just so such a great actual
45:22
changing Where are you? Where? Where did you? Did you fall off
45:24
a cliff? Yeah? Sorry, I have trading time too. So it
45:31
was I mean we had to point it out. It was like all of
45:34
a sudden, It's like doctor Trey is yelling in the back of an auditorium.
45:38
Yeah, those dads multitasking one trying to make sure your kid doesn't pee
45:43
his pants while you're talking about wrestling, even though peeing your pants I once
45:46
heard was the coolest it is. He wants to brush his teeth. Wait
45:54
so but yeah, like but staying the stuff at the crow gimmick, the
45:58
coming down, that isscending from the know, all that stuff was so far
46:00
I have his time. Even you know you mentioned Dark ninety seven. I
46:07
remember when they tried to turn k Hee for like two months. It was
46:12
just awful. But even the stuff in TNA, even when he when he
46:15
came in and he was doing more like the Joker sting and that stuff was
46:19
just fun, silly stuff. And then the w W stuff and into the
46:22
Amaw stuff has been really really well done. And I give a ton This
46:28
is where like me and Tony Khan don't agree on a lot of stuff that
46:30
comes to pro Wrestling. But the way he has treated Staying since coming to
46:35
AW is something I will always be forever grateful to Tony Kahn and AW four
46:39
because they presented him in his best light given what he can do in a
46:45
wrestling ring at this point. And the stuff with Darby Allen's been good.
46:50
The stuff you know, coming on with you know, you mentioned this stuff
46:52
with Brian Cage and Ricky Stars and even having matches with you know, all
46:57
these other guys throughout the four years he's been with the company has been phenomenal.
47:00
And it's sort of things you know, you play to your strength and
47:04
minimize your weaknesses. And I think they've done a fantastic job with Staying and
47:07
giving him the proper sendoff, And to do the sendoff in Greensboro, North
47:13
Carolina, an area that has almost been kind of forgotten about by professional wrestling
47:17
when it was huge through the eighties and into the nineties is also a great
47:22
way to do his final match for AW as well. Yeah, I think
47:27
you hit the nail on the head there, doctor Trey. If you look
47:30
back at this five year AW run and you say, like, who,
47:35
what is one of the best things Tony Kahan has booked or AW creative is
47:38
done. It is the way that they've handled letting stings career close out.
47:45
It has been nearly perfection. It's been respectful. It's been the right way
47:50
to do it. In my opinion. I think the way that his WE
47:52
run or his original run of retirement ended was it wasn't It was a shame,
48:00
is what it was. On so many levels, the way that he
48:01
was booked and then the way that he went out by injury. It was
48:06
just an overall shame and that will definitely taint the WE Run for a little
48:10
bit. But his original appearance at that Survivor series like still blows my mind
48:16
and I think that was Survivor Series twenty fourteen if I corrected it myself now.
48:21
But the AW run has been phenomenal, really really good. The only
48:25
thing now that matters is how do they close it out on Sunday? Do
48:30
they close out this book respectfully? And that's something that we will get to
48:35
now here as we preview and predict AW Revolution this Sunday from Greensboro Coliseum in
48:40
Greensboro, North Carolina. The first match here Doctor Trey that will preview Chris
48:45
Jericho taking on it's gonna be an all star scramble match where the winner receives
48:49
a future AW World Champion match. You've got Christ Jericho, Wardlow, Powerhouse
48:52
Hobs, Lance Archer Hook, Brian Cage, and two spots to be announced
48:58
a match on Rampage Match, and that will decide that. I'm gonna take
49:01
Wardlow in this one because they are starting to prep him for an a W
49:05
World Champion match. Doctor Trey. Yeah, see, this one was hard
49:07
for me because I want to pick Wardlow, but I don't know if you
49:10
want to go Wardlow and Joe yet. So it wasn't it called something else,
49:16
but they changed it because of injuries and then they came back. It
49:19
was like the Meaty Month, the Meatyman Match or something like that. He
49:22
originally, yes, it was meat Madness and they had to cancel due to
49:24
injuries. Yes, I wish if I'm big ee, I want some residuals
49:30
off using that name. I think I'm going to take Hobbs in this one.
49:37
It might be my surprise pick, but I'm gonna take Powerhobs Hobbs,
49:39
even though I really think they might pull the trigger and do Wardlow. But
49:45
if you do Wardlow and Joe. Now, what's your payoff? So I
49:49
think the eventual return of MJF. Yeah, But then like, is Wardlow
49:53
actually gonna lay down for Adam Cole? Like Cole talked about, I think
49:58
the state you save it for or when you know that both guys are coming
50:02
back. So I think I'll take Hobbs because Hobbs has been booked really,
50:07
really strong over the last couple of months. So I'll take Hobbs getting to
50:12
win as any kind of surprise. Next match year is FTR taking on the
50:15
Blackpool Combat Club. Who do you like this one? Doctor Trey Man?
50:19
This now? Once again, I'll give aw crad. They've got me in
50:21
some of these matches where I'm like, I have no idea where they're going
50:24
as far as directions. Who's gonna win? I think I will take FTR
50:30
though, because I think that would put them in line for a tag title
50:34
shot, and BCC kind of floats their guys in and out of Tag team.
50:37
So I will take FTR to get the win. I have FTR getting
50:42
this victory as well. They did take the l and the Trios match.
50:45
On Wednesday's Dynamite, Christian Cave defends the AWT and T Championship against Daniel Garcia.
50:52
I'm gonna take Christian Cage in this one, Doctor Trey, and probably
50:55
not a popular opinion here by by any means, but I feel like the
50:59
AT and T champions reign of Christian Cage has been kind of dragging on a
51:04
little bit too long for my liking. See, I've enjoyed the run because
51:07
I don't know, I just like Christian Cage, especially as the heel,
51:10
like he is so good right now. I know, maybe it's it's dragging
51:14
on a little bit with all the dead family member references and maybe a bit,
51:19
but I still think that you're gonna eventually pull the trigger, Adam who
51:22
where Copeland beats him and actually gets the belt for a little bit, not
51:25
just for like, you know, a couple hours. So I will take
51:30
Christian Cage retaining as well. Next match here is Will Ospray taking on Kenoska
51:35
Takeshka. I'm really looking forward to this one, Dot Stray, Who do
51:37
you like in this? This one's tricky for me because I don't know what
51:43
the plan for Ospray is, Like, is he gonna be a baby face?
51:45
He's gonna be a heal. I know he's part of Don Kallis family,
51:47
but is he? So I'm gonna take Will Ospray to get the win,
51:52
but then Takeshka and Don Kallis beat down Ospray postmatch. I would definitely
51:58
I'm gonna take Will Ospray. I agree with your synopsis postmatch. Osprey was
52:01
acting much like a babyface on Wednesdays Dynamite and the don Colis family is not
52:07
babyfaces at all. Next match is Eddie Kingston defending the aw Continal Crown Championship
52:14
against Brian Danielson. If Kingson wins, Danielson has to shake his hand,
52:19
I'm gonna take Eddie Kingson this one, Doctor Trey. Yeah, I'm taking
52:22
Kingston as well, just because I think he's the one who took the loss
52:25
in that six man match year referencing plus guys, Seriously, you've got to
52:30
bury these hatches at some point, So yeah, I'm taking kings Plus he
52:35
just got to win the Condo Classic. Why would you take the all three
52:37
belts off of them right away? So this is the Eddie Kingson redemption Tour,
52:43
so to speak. So Eddie gets the win. Next match Year is
52:46
Timeless Tony Storm defend the aw Women's World CHAMPIONI against Deanna Brazzo Doctor Trey.
52:51
Who do you like in this one? Oh? Once again A little bit
52:52
torn on this one because I love some Tony Storm and then you have the
52:55
new upstart coming in. But aw's pretty good about not necessarily switching the belt
53:00
just because the new guy's there. This isn't like old school TNA where the
53:04
new guy shows up and they give him a belt, almost like a participation
53:07
trophy. So I'm gonna take a timeless Tony Storm with the help of Luther
53:12
and Mariah May to you know, sneak out of victory over Daanna Brazza.
53:15
I'm gonna take timeless Tony Storm retaining the championship as well. I think her
53:20
taking on the person that Doctor Trey is very excited to debut in aw AT
53:24
Big Business in a couple of weeks is probably the direction that they will take
53:29
next. Next match, Year's Orange Cassie to defending the AW Internet International Championhip
53:35
against Roderick Strong. I'm gonna take Roderic Strong on this one. Not sure
53:37
I think we get a new International champion. Yeah, and this is kind
53:40
of my payoff also for the Wardlow not picking Wardlow earlier. It is like
53:45
you can't have United Kingdom come in and just take over everything right away until
53:49
until you know Adams to be about back. So I'm gonna take Rodrick Strong
53:52
to get the win here, just because I had Wardlow losing earlier, so
53:55
or not getting pinned everier, but Roderick with the win because Roderick also super
54:00
underwear, like his performs the last nine months has been fantastic. Next match
54:05
is Samoa Joe defend the aw World Championship in a three way match against Swerve,
54:08
Strickland and Hangman Adam Page Doctor Trey. Who do you like in this
54:12
one? Uh? This one is tricky for me, but because I can
54:15
see them pulling the trigger with Swerve getting to win. But I think we
54:19
know with what happened on Dynamite with Adam Page hitting in with the crutch,
54:22
I think we get more Swerve and Page, so I think Joe retains to
54:25
head towards either Pops Warlow, Adam Cole MJF one of those guys. I'm
54:30
going to take Samo Joe retain the championship as well, and then finally Sting
54:35
and Darby Allen defend the AW World Tag Team Championship in a Tornado Tag Team
54:38
match against Nicholas and Matthew Jackson, also known as the Young Bucks. I'm
54:45
going to take Sting and Darby Allen this one, Doc Trey. I think
54:46
everything that they've been praised over lately in AW praising the way that they've been
54:52
booked for booked Sting and let him go out on his own terms. I
54:57
think Tony Kahn and company want to end this on a very nice, solid
55:00
note, and that is with Sting winning. I know most people on the
55:05
way out of the door will take the l and you know, pay it
55:08
forward, but the Young Bucks don't need it. So I'm gonna take Singing
55:12
Darby Allen win this one. So let me ask you this before so do
55:15
they then vacate the tag titles and we get a tournament for the new tag
55:20
team champions? I do believe that happens next. Yes, that's kind of
55:22
what I was thinking too, which is also why I kind of picked FTR.
55:25
So I'm gonna take Stinging Darby as well, even though there's a really
55:30
big part of me that really wants Flaire to actually go ahead and turn a
55:32
heel inside with the young Bucks. There's a huge part of me because I
55:37
don't like Rick Flair as the good guy. Well, that ship sailed on
55:39
Wednesday's Dynamite, so and that's that's what really kind of blew it up for
55:43
me because I'm like, well, that means they can't you can't have Flair
55:45
turn four days later. It makes no sense. So I will take Sting
55:49
and Darby retaining like and then you get the big send off with both guys
55:52
in the ring Hollywood tag belts Holy for Sting to lay his belt down with
55:55
his boots in the ring before exiting to talk about Wednesday's Dynamite. There the
56:00
last segment with Sting, I mean, obviously the thing that saved it was
56:05
him ascending from the top of the rafters like he would do all uh wsw
56:09
part of me earlier in the day leading in Dynamite was like, man,
56:13
I think the perfect way that Aw closes out and Dynamite is for him to
56:15
ascend from the rafters. And I never thought they would do it because I
56:19
think they stopped doing it after the Owenhart tragedy, and we really don't see
56:22
that in professional wrestling at all. Anymore. But nonetheless, it was really
56:27
really cool to see that Sting did that one last time. What did you
56:30
think about him ascending from the rafters, doctor Try, I thought that was
56:34
pretty I thought I thought he did it one more time in WCW, but
56:37
he had Brett's permission, like he w, I think you're right. I
56:39
think you're right. No, I thought it was really really cool. It's
56:44
funny to me because like, like, I just did a show this past
56:46
weekend, and Action Mike Jackson, who we talked about the show seventy four
56:51
years old ever, was like, Oh, he's too old to be doing
56:52
stuff in the ring that he does. And I'm like, wait, Sting
56:55
just dropped from the rafters at sixty five years old, So I think it's
56:59
a okay if Mike Jackson still get to the rigging time. But yeah,
57:02
you know, it was. It was so cool. And then like you
57:04
know, like I told joff Air, I had a bunch of friends of
57:06
that show. I had friends that were in the upper decks and they were
57:08
the first ones to see him dropping down. Uh you know that's why you
57:13
hear like it's like a weird build up in the crowd on TV, Like
57:15
you hear some cheering and then a little louder and the little louder. Then
57:19
by the time he hits the floor, it's like a rough But I thought
57:22
it was really really cool, really well done, and a great way to
57:24
pay homage to that Sting character that you and I were talking about from Yeah,
57:30
the Crow days, Yeah, Sting's crow gimmick from like late ninety six
57:34
to that match in ninety seven Starcade was one of the best character development builds
57:38
I've ever seen. Yeah, I mean, if you're not up to that,
57:43
if you're too young for that, now go back into time and do
57:45
yourself a favor and watch where they like started saying that Sting was going to
57:49
be joining the nWo, turning his back in WW, and then he basically
57:52
turned his back on W's W and became this crow gimmick, leading to star
57:59
K ninety seven and make life miserable for the nWo, which was super over
58:02
at the time. Don't watch r K ninety seven because it's not worth it,
58:07
but everything leading up to it is one of the greatest character development pills
58:09
I've ever seen. In my entire time of watching professional wrestling, we never
58:14
had a gimmick like that where somebody took an entire year, never wrestled a
58:17
match, never spoke for an entire year, and was more over at the
58:22
end of that year than he was before he started. I mean, it's
58:25
the crazy. I mean, for me, the closest thing to it was
58:28
the bray Wyatt stuff when he was returning the follow White Rabbit stuff, But
58:31
that was even that that was only like a couple months long where this was
58:36
over. I think it was like thirteen months thirteen fourteen months between matches and
58:42
speaking for Sting that in that run, and it was fantastic because you never
58:45
knew from one week to the next if he's gonna drop in, not drop
58:49
in, what they were going to do. And then like when the fake
58:52
Stings showed up and people were wearing the masks and all that stuff, Like,
58:57
I mean, people still copycat that now just because of how iconic that
59:00
was, and that was nearly thirty years ago. Yeah, doctor Trey wrestled
59:05
someone at Copycat had Sting. Yeah, one of my favorite stories on the
59:08
history of this podcast. With that said, let's get a couple of plugs
