- 0:26Speaker 1: about when it comes to the Palehose. Make sure to
- 0:28Speaker 1: go check out the newest show on the Foul Territory

- 0:40Speaker 1: and Jim they host Sox Machine, Subscribe guys, part of
- 0:43Speaker 1: the Foul Territory Network. I know Josh Nelson is excited
- 0:46Speaker 1: to join us, and we are excited to have them
- 0:49Speaker 1: on the platform.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Guys, let's get to it.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Time to charge the mound's charge about I tell you
- 0:57Speaker 1: this is a bummer for the Philadelphia Phillies. Obviously wanting
- 1:00Speaker 1: to start the second half of the season strong and
- 1:02Speaker 1: we'll start with you, Todd father. They're going to have
- 1:04Speaker 1: to do it without the services of Brad Keller missing
- 1:07Speaker 1: the rest of the season. It was announced before the
- 1:10Speaker 1: game yesterday that he has a torn ucl He's expected
- 1:13Speaker 1: to miss the rest of the season. If he undergoes
- 1:16Speaker 1: surgery on that right elbow, it would keep him out
- 1:19Speaker 1: of a significant portion, if not all, of twenty and
- 1:23Speaker 1: twenty seven as well. He signed a two year, twenty
- 1:25Speaker 1: two million dollar deal over the winter. That is not
- 1:29Speaker 1: what you want to hear if you are a Phillies fan,
- 1:31Speaker 1: obviously trying to make their way in the NL East.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Yeah, and listen there, we got the trade deadline coming up.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Everything else. The Phillies are doing so darn good. They
- 1:42Speaker 3: were back so far behind the Braves. Now they're really close.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Two and a half games, fighting their way to get
- 1:48Speaker 3: back to where they need to be and then miss.
- 1:50Speaker 3: This is a bummer, and I think now their number
- 1:53Speaker 3: one concern is finding a bullpen arm Cratzy. I know
- 1:56Speaker 3: you know more about the Phillies than I do, but listen,
- 1:59Speaker 3: anytime you hear this, especially when a team is doing well,
- 2:03Speaker 3: A really good guy signed a two year deal. Basically
- 2:07Speaker 3: now you know, it goes for naught. But for him,
- 2:09Speaker 3: I think ultimately you understand he's probably upset, the family's
- 2:13Speaker 3: probably upset, trying to work his way back. Yeah, Ultimately,
- 2:18Speaker 3: when you hear these things about UCLs, for me, usually
- 2:22Speaker 3: leads the surgery and he usually means.
- 2:25Speaker 4: A long ways to go.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Does this put a whole damper on the Phillies not
- 2:30Speaker 3: making the playoffs? No, But at the same time, he
- 2:33Speaker 3: was a stud, loved them, and now you know, for
- 2:36Speaker 3: him not to be able to pitch, Yeah, what are
- 2:38Speaker 3: the Phillies gonna do? Come trade deadline cratsy? I mean,
- 2:41Speaker 3: let's circle back to last year's postseason. They took Alana's
- 2:45Speaker 3: Dodgers into every seventh inning winning. Everybody thinks about the
- 2:50Speaker 3: Dodgers starting rotation and what they did the entire postseason.
- 2:55Speaker 3: The Phillies starting staff outdueled them, held the lineup down
- 2:59Speaker 3: through this whole time, and then seventh inning or later,
- 3:03Speaker 3: the Dodgers got him, and the Dodgers got the Phillies bullpen.
- 3:07Speaker 3: They went to a bullpen that was very successful, very
- 3:10Speaker 3: successful the year before in Matt Strom and Jeff Hoffman.
- 3:15Speaker 3: The last two postseasons, the downfall, Yes, people will say, oh,
- 3:19Speaker 3: the big guys didn't hit in the postseason. Okay, you're right,
- 3:23Speaker 3: but the bullpen is where they lost these games. So
- 3:27Speaker 3: they fortified it with a Brad Keller signing. They traded
- 3:30Speaker 3: for Jonathan Boland. Boland not Boland. They were getting Jose
- 3:36Speaker 3: Alvarado back off of hysteroid suspension from last season. So
- 3:41Speaker 3: you're like, okay, those are three additions. They got rid
- 3:43Speaker 3: of Matt strom. I think there were some more things
- 3:45Speaker 3: that were involved with that, but Matt Strum's not having
- 3:48Speaker 3: a great year. All that to say, this brad Keller
- 3:51Speaker 3: addition was to keep Dombrowski from needing to move and
- 3:55Speaker 3: shake at the trade deadline, and it was looking, okay,
- 3:59Speaker 3: he had like.
- 3:59Speaker 4: A four this year.
- 4:01Speaker 5: He's pitching through some elbow pain, but right now it's
- 4:04Speaker 5: Jonathan Bolin, Tim Mayzes a very viable option right now
- 4:09Speaker 5: from the left side, and Oriyan Kirkering and then you
- 4:13Speaker 5: go Johan Duran and you're like, you essentially have two pieces,
- 4:18Speaker 5: two pieces one of those three besides Johann Duran to
- 4:21Speaker 5: clean up till they get to the ninth inning. When
- 4:25Speaker 5: you know Doran's been one of the best closers in
- 4:27Speaker 5: the game. But this is gonna hurt, and this is
- 4:30Speaker 5: gonna make Dave Dombrowski. I think Dave's like, let's go
- 4:35Speaker 5: let me cook.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Well, that's the thing, right, That's what I was going
- 4:38Speaker 1: to ask you guys and Todd, what do you think
- 4:39Speaker 1: they're really gonna need? Because if you look at what
- 4:41Speaker 1: the Yard Barker had to say heading into the August
- 4:44Speaker 1: third trade deadline, which it is a little bit later
- 4:46Speaker 1: this year, the Phillies had three holes to fill. This
- 4:48Speaker 1: was before the injury that we just announced. Obviously, with
- 4:51Speaker 1: Keller missing the entire season, finding a starting pitcher, a
- 4:55Speaker 1: right handed bat with some pop, a back end of
- 4:57Speaker 1: the bullpen arm. Now the concern shifts to finding a
- 5:00Speaker 1: bullpen arm as probably the most important move. So perhaps
- 5:04Speaker 1: it was like a couple of days ago or whenever
- 5:07Speaker 1: they realized that he was going to be on the
- 5:08Speaker 1: il forever. It was like going from starting pitching priority
- 5:13Speaker 1: to back of the bullpen priority. That's a tough hill
- 5:16Speaker 1: to climb when you need both of those plus a
- 5:19Speaker 1: bat with pop.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Yeah, And I think ultimately they have to sit down
- 5:23Speaker 3: and understand what's first and foremost. Like you said, what
- 5:26Speaker 3: is the most important thing the Phillies need. I think
- 5:29Speaker 3: it's the right handed bat. With Pops still at this point,
- 5:33Speaker 3: I think the pitching has been really well. The starting
- 5:35Speaker 3: pitching has been dominant. You talk about the guys that
- 5:38Speaker 3: they have up there that can go six seven plus innings,
- 5:41Speaker 3: and if they don't, they still have a pluthor of
- 5:43Speaker 3: guys that can do it. Of course, everybody needs bullpen help.
- 5:46Speaker 3: And then talking with Cratzy all the time, what team, Oh, well,
- 5:49Speaker 3: this team specifically, No, everybody needs bullpen help. They need
- 5:53Speaker 3: that right handed bat that can take the ball and
- 5:55Speaker 3: put them in the seats. Whenever they got Swarburn Harper
- 5:58Speaker 3: on the left side. You know there are two big
- 6:01Speaker 3: guns that can do that all day. Every day they
- 6:03Speaker 3: find a right handed bat. I still think they're gonna
- 6:06Speaker 3: be plenty fine moving forward.
- 6:09Speaker 5: Yes, I could agree with you. Derek Hill would say,
- 6:11Speaker 5: wait a minute, what the heck, bro I've been killing it.
- 6:14Speaker 5: I've been, you know, ever since you came out of
- 6:16Speaker 5: with Philly. It's only fifty at bads, but he's hitting
- 6:18Speaker 5: like three thirty. He's got This is a team that
- 6:21Speaker 5: doesn't have anybody outside of their big three guys, the
- 6:24Speaker 5: all stars from the lineup that has an ops over
- 6:28Speaker 5: seven over seven hundred, like it is a abysmally hitting team.
- 6:34Speaker 5: So there's gonna be some regression back to the norm
- 6:38Speaker 5: for Alec Bohm. There's going to be some you know,
- 6:41Speaker 5: regression back to the norm for Derek Hill too. He's
- 6:44Speaker 5: not gonna hit three thirty the rest of the year.
- 6:46Speaker 5: So I think what Dave Dombrowsi's going to do, and
- 6:50Speaker 5: I think what you have to do in a situation
- 6:52Speaker 5: is you have to add that platoon advantage. Right handed
- 6:55Speaker 5: bat Taylor Ward, I think is hidden, Like I think
- 6:58Speaker 5: he's got like an eight to ninety oh yes against
- 7:01Speaker 5: left handed pitchers. So if Taylor Ward this like magical piece, no,
- 7:06Speaker 5: but I think there's a lot of home runs left
- 7:08Speaker 5: in that bat that he hasn't.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Hit from this year.
- 7:11Speaker 5: Moving over and they would move to a small ballpark
- 7:13Speaker 5: in Philly, I think there'll be some success. Plus Dombrowski
- 7:17Speaker 5: has a lot of history with trading with the Orioles
- 7:21Speaker 5: from the last few years. But I think this shifts
- 7:25Speaker 5: away from the starting pitcher, which I thought they may
- 7:28Speaker 5: pick up a you know, a guy that probably be
- 7:30Speaker 5: a fifth starter, eat some innings to that major bullpen
- 7:35Speaker 5: piece and Dave Dombrowski did it last year and I
- 7:38Speaker 5: think he's going to do it again this year.
- 7:40Speaker 4: A guy that's.
- 7:40Speaker 5: Easily fits into that eighth inning role and then pushes
- 7:45Speaker 5: all those other guys back to more six seventh inning roles.
- 7:51Speaker 6: Big second half of the season coming up, there might
- 7:54Speaker 6: be a hot ticket, a rivalry series, a sold out
- 7:57Speaker 6: experience they need to get your hands on, and Sea
- 8:00Speaker 6: geek is the spot for that. You can find good
- 8:04Speaker 6: good pricing. They help you with the pricing green dot good,

- 8:15Speaker 7: Why would you not use see gek if you want
- 8:16Speaker 7: a view from your seat. You want to know if
- 8:18Speaker 7: it's a good seat, if it's a good deal. It
- 8:20Speaker 7: has all of it on the app.
- 8:22Speaker 4: It's easy to use. It's one click boom.

- 8:34Speaker 7: can always try to find the green dot on sekk.
- 8:36Speaker 6: And for MLB tickets you can get ten percent off
- 8:39Speaker 6: with that promo codever running all season long, Territory one zero.
- 8:43Speaker 6: That's territory ten off your next set of MLB tickets

- 8:48Speaker 6: the description to download the app and have the code
- 8:50Speaker 6: automatically added to your account so you can use it later.
- 8:53Speaker 1: I mean at this point, though, where you're looking for
- 8:54Speaker 1: somebody perhaps that just can eat up some innings. I mean,
- 8:57Speaker 1: the Phillies are in a good position right now in
- 8:58Speaker 1: the NL East. Is that somebody that you're looking to
- 9:01Speaker 1: perhaps go down on the farm. Maybe right hander Alex
- 9:04Speaker 1: McFarlane comes up eat some innings, and then Dave Dombrowski obviously.
- 9:08Speaker 1: I mean, I'm not saying McFarlane is the answer by
- 9:10Speaker 1: any stretch of the imagination, But get the guy to
- 9:12Speaker 1: eat up some innings and then figure out a way
- 9:14Speaker 1: that you can really set up the bullpen to move
- 9:16Speaker 1: closer towards the postseason.
- 9:18Speaker 5: I hear what you're saying. I mean, they have they
- 9:20Speaker 5: have wrong hell up there now, Alan Wronghell. But he's
- 9:25Speaker 5: trying to eat up innings. Whoever you're bringing up is
- 9:27Speaker 5: going to try to eat up innings. I mean there
- 9:28Speaker 5: might be like a case where a reunion with Lorenzo Lorenzen,
- 9:35Speaker 5: Michael Lorenzen.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Michael Lorenzen.
- 9:37Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, like that type of move.
- 9:39Speaker 5: I'm not saying him specifically, but there's those types of moves.
- 9:44Speaker 5: I don't think they were going to go and dit
- 9:46Speaker 5: their toes in to you know, a big, a big
- 9:50Speaker 5: piece as a starting rotation, because right now they've arguably
- 9:54Speaker 5: three guys that are performing in the top top ten
- 9:58Speaker 5: in the league and start as starting pitchers with Lozardo
- 10:02Speaker 5: Sanchez and Zach Wheeler, who's actually having a better season
- 10:07Speaker 5: and he's on the same rotation. He's in the same
- 10:10Speaker 5: staff as the guy who started the All Star Game
- 10:12Speaker 5: for the National League. So it's like, Christopher Sanchez, who
- 10:16Speaker 5: do you throw first? Zach Wheeler? You have your three starters.
- 10:20Speaker 5: Were they going to pick up a guy who was
- 10:21Speaker 5: going to throw Game four of the War of the
- 10:24Speaker 5: First playoff series?
- 10:25Speaker 4: No, I don't think so.
- 10:26Speaker 5: So I think that innings eater is probably still possible,
- 10:28Speaker 5: but it'll be a last minute like, hey, I'm glad
- 10:31Speaker 5: we got this guy.
- 10:32Speaker 4: He'll be able to eat some innings for us.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Yeah, Keller has been on the injured liss guy since
- 10:36Speaker 1: June fourteenth. Forearm ten to nightis anytime you hear that, Todd,
- 10:40Speaker 1: You're thinking Tommy John surgery, right, I mean, at least
- 10:42Speaker 1: every time I hear Forum tendon nights, that's immediately what
- 10:45Speaker 1: my mind goes to. So he hasn't been you know,
- 10:48Speaker 1: he hasn't pitched in a while, obviously since June fourteenth.
- 10:51Speaker 1: And you know, honestly, his time with the Phillies. If
- 10:54Speaker 1: you think about the fact that he's going to have
- 10:55Speaker 1: to have the surgery and then the impending lockout, it
- 10:58Speaker 1: might be over before it even really got started.
- 11:01Speaker 3: Yeah, that's you know, if you're Phillies ownership, it's frustrating,
- 11:06Speaker 3: but at the same time you understand that these things
- 11:08Speaker 3: are happening.
- 11:08Speaker 2: It's part of the business.
- 11:10Speaker 3: But I feel for him, man. It stinks because I
- 11:14Speaker 3: know every ballplayer and especially him, want to go out
- 11:16Speaker 3: there and play and help the team out as much
- 11:18Speaker 3: as possible. Nobody wants to sit at home and have
- 11:21Speaker 3: to rehab and go through all those processes of getting
- 11:24Speaker 3: back together, feeling good, not feeling good, you know, not
- 11:28Speaker 3: being able to do really anything. So again, you know,
- 11:31Speaker 3: kind of button it up. Man. It stinks for him,
- 11:34Speaker 3: it stinks for the Phillies. But you hear about these cases,
- 11:37Speaker 3: a couple of them happening every year, and you know,
- 11:41Speaker 3: hopefully he comes back bigger and stronger and quicker too
- 11:44Speaker 3: as well with all the new technologies they have.
- 11:48Speaker 5: Yeah, Keller, Keller definitely gave himself the opportunity to be
- 11:51Speaker 5: in the spot. He was kind of a failed starter,
- 11:54Speaker 5: went to the Cubs last year on a minor league
- 11:55Speaker 5: deal or a one year deal, I'm not sure, and
- 11:58Speaker 5: really made his He's you know, uped his value to
- 12:02Speaker 5: get this contract. It's eerily similar to in nineteen when
- 12:06Speaker 5: the Phillies signed David Robertson, a guy that was came
- 12:09Speaker 5: from the Yankees, was super durable winning player, signs and
- 12:15Speaker 5: he throws in seven games, blows out and misses the
- 12:19Speaker 5: next two years. They're both or misses that season and
- 12:22Speaker 5: the next season because the next season was COVID and
- 12:24Speaker 5: both of them had Tommy John and both of them
- 12:27Speaker 5: really didn't pitch throughout this contract. And this is why
- 12:29Speaker 5: a lot of teams are like, mah, whatever, We'll just
- 12:31Speaker 5: find someone else.
- 12:32Speaker 4: To do it.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Guys, we don't even know if there's going to be
- 12:36Speaker 1: a twenty twenty seven season because of the impending lockout
- 12:40Speaker 1: with all the CBA nonsense billionaires fighting millionaires. But hey,
- 12:43Speaker 1: guess what. The schedules are out for the twenty twenty
- 12:46Speaker 1: seven season. So if there is a schedule, you can
- 12:48Speaker 1: go online and check out where your team is going
- 12:52Speaker 1: to be. The Astros, we were just talking about them.
- 12:54Speaker 1: They open against the Rangers in Dykin Park. Wrigley is
- 12:58Speaker 1: hosting the twenty twenty seven All Star Game and the
- 13:01Speaker 1: raining champs. The Dodgers start the season against the Braves
- 13:04Speaker 1: at home. What do you think about that? Packing your
- 13:07Speaker 1: bags anybody? Where are you gonna go?
- 13:10Speaker 4: Todd?
- 13:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean really pretty sick. I'm really excited about that.
- 13:16Speaker 3: For the All Star Game. I think that's gonna be
- 13:18Speaker 3: absolutely incredible. I wish they just throw it out there. MLB,
- 13:23Speaker 3: let's just throw out the twenty twenties. Hey, here you go, like, here,
- 13:27Speaker 3: here's a glove, go take it with. Like, man, they
- 13:30Speaker 3: could make this so much better, man, I mean they
- 13:33Speaker 3: could do it during the All Star Game. They could
- 13:36Speaker 3: do it during you know the drafts often. Yeah, like
- 13:41Speaker 3: something you know, make it a nice hour show, like
- 13:45Speaker 3: put put some celebrities in there, some people from each
- 13:48Speaker 3: city or something. Oh here it is Ali starts with
- 13:51Speaker 3: Atlanta at home and that shows openings against Rangers. It's
- 13:55Speaker 3: good luck, you know, Like, come on, man, every other
- 13:59Speaker 3: every other league does something fun. Oh yeah, don't yeah, yeah,
- 14:02Speaker 3: Wrigley's got the All Star Game. Okay, what's up next? Like, man,
- 14:06Speaker 3: you can make this so much better. And you know
- 14:08Speaker 3: I'm complaining. I don't. I don't complain like this, but
- 14:11Speaker 3: like little things like this just drive you crazy, because okay, great,
- 14:16Speaker 3: this is awesome. Let's do it right in the middle
- 14:18Speaker 3: of the time where you know, people are trying to
- 14:20Speaker 3: win a World Series, like they're not even worried about
- 14:22Speaker 3: It's just it's got to be a little bit better.
- 14:26Speaker 1: I mean, the NFL does such a good job, you guys,
- 14:28Speaker 1: with it, the way that they each team comes up
- 14:31Speaker 1: with their own special schedule, release announcement of videos. And
- 14:35Speaker 1: I love when they go to I want to say,
- 14:36Speaker 1: it's in Nashville and they show the logos and they
- 14:39Speaker 1: don't like random people on the street have to say
- 14:43Speaker 1: what the team is and they like they they're completely wrong.
- 14:46Speaker 1: But it's such a blast. I agree with you at
- 14:48Speaker 1: Major League Baseball should make this an event, something that
- 14:51Speaker 1: people are looking forward to.
- 14:54Speaker 4: Something something. Just do your own unique way.
- 14:56Speaker 5: But if you try to sell something to somebody and
- 14:58Speaker 5: they're you're like, yeah, I would love it if you
- 15:01Speaker 5: would come to our baseball games, because we're gonna have
- 15:03Speaker 5: some in twenty twenty seven, and there's gonna.
- 15:06Speaker 4: Be games and there's a lot.
- 15:07Speaker 5: Like they're like, well, there's so many, it doesn't have
- 15:10Speaker 5: the same fanfare.
- 15:11Speaker 4: Figure it out, figure out a way to sell it.
- 15:14Speaker 4: There's so many creative.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Open Hey, guess what we're gonna be. And then it
- 15:20Speaker 3: was like, oh, like make it fun. Put three teams.
- 15:24Speaker 4: Up there and die.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Time now for injury Suck. Our friend Will Carroll is
- 15:35Speaker 1: on the program host of Injury Territory right here on
- 15:38Speaker 1: the Foul Territory Network. Will good to be with you
- 15:40Speaker 1: think so much? A big question with Sho Heeyo Tani
- 15:43Speaker 1: obviously did not participate in the All Star festivities because
- 15:46Speaker 1: he had to have his knee drained on Sunday. Well more,
- 15:50Speaker 1: can you tell us about that? And furthermore, Tyler Glass
- 15:53Speaker 1: now through a bullpen session this past weekend.
- 15:56Speaker 2: How soon do you see him back? Yeah, let's start
- 15:59Speaker 2: with the Tani. This is fairly simple. And I'm sure
- 16:02Speaker 2: Todd and Eric you've had your knee drained more than once.
- 16:06Speaker 2: It's a fairly simple procedure. You're just pulling that fluid out,
- 16:09Speaker 2: making sure that it doesn't immediately come back, and this
- 16:13Speaker 2: is just maintenance. What Otani has is some sort of
- 16:17Speaker 2: cartilage issue, whether it's just a small tear of the meniscus,
- 16:21Speaker 2: whether there's some fraying on the articular cartilage. A lot
- 16:25Speaker 2: of people are pointing back at the bipartite patella, which
- 16:30Speaker 2: is a congenital condition. His patello just didn't come together.
- 16:33Speaker 2: When you're a baby. Your kneecap is two parts. That
- 16:37Speaker 2: was fixed, so I don't think it's broken again. This
- 16:40Speaker 2: is merely a cartilage issue. It's a maintenance issue. So
- 16:45Speaker 2: they've been dealing with this for a while and I
- 16:48Speaker 2: don't think it's going to be anything more than an
- 16:50Speaker 2: annoyance with glass. Now it's progressed. You know, back injuries
- 16:55Speaker 2: are tough. They've taken this very very slow because they can.
- 17:00Speaker 2: They're the Dodgers. They got twenty other pitchers. They can
- 17:02Speaker 2: step in. They want to make sure he's ready for October,
- 17:05Speaker 2: not so much in July.
- 17:07Speaker 4: All right, let's go back to the tany thing.
- 17:09Speaker 5: And first of all, Todd and I would appreciate it
- 17:11Speaker 5: if you would not say that we got our knees drained,
- 17:15Speaker 5: because we never had kryptonite anywhere where we played, so
- 17:18Speaker 5: you can't hurt Superman and true whatever Todd is wonder woman,
- 17:23Speaker 5: I'm not sure, but either.
- 17:24Speaker 4: Way, but isn't this a fear of the overuse?
- 17:31Speaker 5: We have so much fear in baseball and even in basketball,
- 17:35Speaker 5: you know, the whole playing time manipulation so that we
- 17:39Speaker 5: don't get tired. This is actual tired. You don't just
- 17:43Speaker 5: gain fluid because like he's sweating, more like there is
- 17:47Speaker 5: something in there. And can you also hit on the
- 17:50Speaker 5: fact that he didn't do it because he didn't he
- 17:53Speaker 5: didn't go to the All Star Game because he didn't
- 17:55Speaker 5: want to fly. And how flying as a player you
- 17:58Speaker 5: have to alle he ate inflammation and this is like
- 18:02Speaker 5: the ultimate of inflammation exactly.
- 18:06Speaker 2: And with the flying throws off your sleeping all sorts
- 18:11Speaker 2: of things. So there was no reason. And I think
- 18:13Speaker 2: that's part of the timing, is that it gave him
- 18:15Speaker 2: a good excuse not to have to do so. With
- 18:18Speaker 2: the inflammation, I don't think it's a big deal. They
- 18:22Speaker 2: have been resting him more and that's been frustrating Otani.
- 18:26Speaker 2: He wants to be in there every day players do.
- 18:31Speaker 2: He's used to being there every day to ways most
- 18:33Speaker 2: of the time. So I think this is just something
- 18:36Speaker 2: new for him to actually have these sort of conditions.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Thing you have to remember here is this is a
- 18:43Speaker 2: player that's never really been healthy. He kind of feels
- 18:47Speaker 2: like Mike Trout at this point. He's had two elbow surgeries,
- 18:51Speaker 2: he's had a knee surgery, he's had hamstring problems, and
- 18:55Speaker 2: now with the knee again, it's pretty amazing what he
- 18:58Speaker 2: might do if he gets healthy.
- 19:01Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, let's go. I mean, guy's unbelievable ball player.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Let's talk about d backs down the street there, tor
- 19:07Speaker 3: Levell talking about Soroco with his glute, I want you
- 19:11Speaker 3: to talk about him. I want you to talk about Gallon, Zac,
- 19:15Speaker 3: Gallen getting a second opinion, and then Corbyn Burns talk
- 19:17Speaker 3: about those three guys as they move forward into the season.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Yeah, this one is one I'm really watching. Zach Gallen
- 19:23Speaker 2: is getting a second opinion. I hear that's either Neil
- 19:26Speaker 2: Latrosh or Keith mace Heer, and you hear those two names,
- 19:28Speaker 2: you start thinking that elbow is gonna get looked inside.
- 19:32Speaker 2: They if they lose Gallon, they would lose him for
- 19:34Speaker 2: the season a significant portion of next instead of adding
- 19:39Speaker 2: to that rotation when Corbyn Burns comes back from his
- 19:41Speaker 2: own elbow surgery, it would kind of be a straight swap.
- 19:45Speaker 2: You know, it's not horrible, but it's certainly not what
- 19:48Speaker 2: the Diamondbacks we're hoping to get. So you get those two.
- 19:53Speaker 2: We should get an answer on Gallon here in the
- 19:55Speaker 2: next forty eight hours. With Burns, he's coming back, he's
- 19:58Speaker 2: making good progress. He had a big set back with
- 20:00Speaker 2: the muscle tair in his shoulder. He's over that and
- 20:04Speaker 2: is throwing again, so he should be back right towards
- 20:07Speaker 2: the start of August.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Well, I wanted to ask you a little bit more
- 20:13Speaker 1: about the Philadelphia Phillies and kind of where they go
- 20:15Speaker 1: from here. What are the implications in your opinion of
- 20:18Speaker 1: Brad Keller being out for the remainder of the season
- 20:20Speaker 1: and possibly all of twenty twenty seven as well.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm still waiting to hear why there's a question
- 20:27Speaker 2: is this just such a small sprain that they think
- 20:29Speaker 2: it might come back, but that it's not going to
- 20:31Speaker 2: come back this season. That doesn't work out all that
- 20:35Speaker 2: often it does. There have been some MASSI Hero Tanaka
- 20:38Speaker 2: was about a decade ago that he had perp and
- 20:41Speaker 2: came back from a very very small sprain with relievers.
- 20:45Speaker 2: I think they were obviously going to tweak that bullpen,
- 20:49Speaker 2: like most contending teams are. It's one of the things
- 20:52Speaker 2: gms seemed to do this time of the year is
- 20:54Speaker 2: figure out exactly what their need is. Do I need
- 20:57Speaker 2: another lefty? Do I need another righty? Do I need
- 20:58Speaker 2: another guy who pitches from this side of the clock.
- 21:02Speaker 2: So it hurts losing Keller, but I think this was
- 21:04Speaker 2: already something that was in process. They're gonna have to
- 21:07Speaker 2: figure out what they have, who comes in, and what
- 21:11Speaker 2: they have to give up to get it.
- 21:12Speaker 5: Now, what is the process for teams right now? Because
- 21:16Speaker 5: we saw Keller was on the il for a little
- 21:20Speaker 5: while here with elbow tendinitis, and then you start talking
- 21:23Speaker 5: about fourum fight. We're getting to the point where we're
- 21:26Speaker 5: gonna right up to the trade deadline. Are teams able
- 21:28Speaker 5: to help mitigate pitchers and their injuries at this time
- 21:34Speaker 5: giving them anti inflammatories. Is there things that like, Okay,
- 21:38Speaker 5: we can push through a certain point or are we
- 21:41Speaker 5: not at that point in the season.
- 21:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:44Speaker 2: I think we're always at that point in the season.
- 21:47Speaker 2: It's one of those things where teams get a plan
- 21:50Speaker 2: and they're like, we're gonna go through. We're gonna do this.
- 21:52Speaker 2: You saw this with Garrett Cole. It was driving me
- 21:54Speaker 2: insane how long the Yankees were holding him back when
- 21:58Speaker 2: he was pitching really, really well and spring training and
- 22:00Speaker 2: then they kind of let's just reset the clock. He
- 22:03Speaker 2: doesn't pitch until May, and it hasn't ended up hurting them.
- 22:06Speaker 2: It certainly hasn't ended up hurting Coal, but he could
- 22:09Speaker 2: have had two or three more starts, and I can
- 22:11Speaker 2: see a scenario where that really cost the Yankees. Imagine
- 22:16Speaker 2: if they held him back and they end up a
- 22:18Speaker 2: game back in the division. We'll see where that goes.
- 22:21Speaker 2: They've had enough other problems to deal with, so for
- 22:24Speaker 2: most pictures, it's not like you can suddenly fill them
- 22:26Speaker 2: up with anti inflammatories, because you need to save that
- 22:31Speaker 2: for the times when you actually have an acute problem.
- 22:35Speaker 2: I think you just stick to that plan. You see
- 22:38Speaker 2: these athletic trainers, you get in the massage therapists and
- 22:42Speaker 2: the physical therapists working on everything. It's the prehab, it's
- 22:46Speaker 2: the recovery work, and it's that recovery work that I
- 22:49Speaker 2: think people don't understand how much goes into the between starts.
- 22:54Speaker 2: You hear somebody pitching on four days rest. It's not
- 22:58Speaker 2: like they're sitting back in a chair. There's so much throwing,
- 23:01Speaker 2: there's so much work, there's so much rehab type work.
- 23:06Speaker 2: I was talking to a picture today about how much
- 23:08Speaker 2: he thought his red light block was helping him out.
- 23:12Speaker 2: We'll see. But these guys are trying anything and everything,
- 23:18Speaker 2: mostly legal, to keep going out there, to keep staying
- 23:22Speaker 2: in the game.
- 23:24Speaker 3: Wow. Crazy. I want to talk a little bit about
- 23:27Speaker 3: the Braves. Ronald l'conya hamstring. What's next for this guy
- 23:31Speaker 3: coming up?
- 23:33Speaker 2: Well, he's gonna go to Gwinnette, you know, basically around
- 23:36Speaker 2: the corner from the ballpark. Braves love having those minor
- 23:41Speaker 2: league teams so close. And he hit a home run
- 23:44Speaker 2: the other night. He's doing well, but that hamstring is
- 23:47Speaker 2: we're current. Remember he had it earlier in the season.
- 23:49Speaker 2: Came back. Sam's part of the muscle tour again. They
- 23:53Speaker 2: want to make sure that not only heals up, but
- 23:56Speaker 2: heals up properly. Scar is never as strong is the muscle.
- 24:00Speaker 2: It's usually you have seventy five eighty percent in the
- 24:03Speaker 2: early stages. You have to let that that muscle really compensate,
- 24:09Speaker 2: rebuild itself, reconfigure itself. You don't want that big, massive
- 24:14Speaker 2: scar in there because his legs are such a big thing.
- 24:17Speaker 2: It's not just the speed that you see on the
- 24:19Speaker 2: base path, it's also the power. It's the explosiveness, explosiveness
- 24:23Speaker 2: that goes into his swing. So they want to make
- 24:25Speaker 2: sure he's healthy. I'm hearing they're going to use him
- 24:27Speaker 2: as DH at the start, and they may use him
- 24:30Speaker 2: as DH one or two days a week through the
- 24:33Speaker 2: rest of the season. I don't know.
- 24:35Speaker 4: I don't agree with that.
- 24:36Speaker 5: Let the man run, Just make him healthy, don't try
- 24:38Speaker 5: to like, well, take it easy, but run fast when
- 24:41Speaker 5: you need it.
- 24:42Speaker 4: Always that always fear, I'm always fearful of that.
- 24:45Speaker 5: Garrett Crochet, he hasn't been throwing baseballs right, He's been
- 24:52Speaker 5: throwing weighted plioballs. Can you explain what that idea or
- 24:57Speaker 5: thinking is.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Yeah, this is kind of counterintuitive. And for if you
- 25:04Speaker 2: don't know what a plyball is, the heck have you been.
- 25:06Speaker 2: It's just a weighted ball. It's plastic. Yeah, they came
- 25:10Speaker 2: largely out of drive line. That's where everybody has seen them.
- 25:13Speaker 2: But it's just balls at different weights. A heavier ball,
- 25:19Speaker 2: oddly enough, because you can't move it as fast, puts
- 25:22Speaker 2: less stress on the elbow. So you'll see very early
- 25:26Speaker 2: in throwing progressions they'll get out these weighted balls. They'll
- 25:29Speaker 2: throw them against what a little trampoline, They'll throw them
- 25:33Speaker 2: short distances. You're never gonna see somebody long cauting. Well,
- 25:37Speaker 2: I've seen it, but you shouldn't see it. You go
- 25:40Speaker 2: back to Mike Marshall and his shop puts, but it
- 25:44Speaker 2: really doesn't let the arm accelerate enough to put a
- 25:48Speaker 2: ton of stress on the ucl. So with his shoulder,
- 25:52Speaker 2: same sort of thing. We don't have as much biomechanical
- 25:55Speaker 2: data on that. So they're basically just making sure that
- 25:59Speaker 2: he's not over stressing that arm. He's not ready to
- 26:02Speaker 2: get out there with a wheel baseball. And you know
- 26:05Speaker 2: the timing of it's problematic, but you know that that
- 26:09Speaker 2: muscle is very very key to the entire process of
- 26:15Speaker 2: him throwing. If he's not out there. The Red Sox
- 26:18Speaker 2: trunk and very far and surprisingly they're what only about
- 26:21Speaker 2: a half game back of the wildcard right now and
- 26:25Speaker 2: two games under five hundred, So good job with that parody, Manfred.
- 26:29Speaker 5: Does this change his timeline because the timeline has When
- 26:34Speaker 5: I played, the timeline is always you're not throwing. That
- 26:38Speaker 5: means you're twice as long building up as you didn't throw.
- 26:43Speaker 5: You don't throw for a week, you have to build
- 26:45Speaker 5: up for two weeks. Now he hasn't thrown for two minds,
- 26:48Speaker 5: he has to build up. Does doing these plio balls
- 26:51Speaker 5: and for people don't know that look like McDonald's bouncy
- 26:53Speaker 5: house balls and they all come in a bag. And
- 26:56Speaker 5: Major League Baseball thinks that this is going to save
- 26:58Speaker 5: people's arms, But we have more injuries than ever, so
- 27:01Speaker 5: I think they're hurting more people's arms. But that's another discussion.
- 27:04Speaker 5: Does it minimize that build back up? Once they say yes,
- 27:08Speaker 5: you can put a ball in your hand, it helps.
- 27:12Speaker 2: A little bit, you know, as you're the thing we
- 27:15Speaker 2: don't know is how to put everything together. There's no
- 27:17Speaker 2: holistic way of saying you know you. Pitch counts are easy.
- 27:23Speaker 2: Throw counts are theoretically easy. But what else goes into
- 27:28Speaker 2: it is a picture going in doing squats. Part of
- 27:31Speaker 2: workload is whether he sleeps well or not. Part of
- 27:35Speaker 2: workload whether he's flying and sitting in hotel lobbies or
- 27:41Speaker 2: hotel bars. All these things we don't know how to collect.
- 27:45Speaker 2: There's no whoop that tells us how ready a picture is,
- 27:49Speaker 2: so we have to make guesses. We have to make
- 27:52Speaker 2: some educated guesses. The therapists are in there looking things
- 27:56Speaker 2: like grip strength and dynamometers to try to put it together.
- 28:00Speaker 2: So's he's not at zero, but he's certainly not at
- 28:04Speaker 2: a one either, So you're hoping to start him out
- 28:07Speaker 2: at somewhere like a point three point four when it
- 28:09Speaker 2: comes to the acute chronic workload, and then start building
- 28:12Speaker 2: from there up to that safe zone of point eight
- 28:16Speaker 2: to one point two.
- 28:18Speaker 1: I'll ask you really quick well on Max Fried apparently
- 28:21Speaker 1: starting to rehab assignment tonight at Triple A scrant and Wilkspar,
- 28:24Speaker 1: what is the next move And do you think that
- 28:27Speaker 1: there's any thought of perhaps them getting Scooble or Mason
- 28:30Speaker 1: Miller to ad pitching at the deadline because they see
- 28:34Speaker 1: Kancin become you know, keep pitchers healthy right now, But
- 28:36Speaker 1: first and foremost, what's going on with Freed?
- 28:39Speaker 2: Yeah, Freed's making progress. It's that inflammation in the back
- 28:42Speaker 2: of his elbow. They're hoping that it doesn't come back.
- 28:45Speaker 2: The problem is they don't know what the real cause is.
- 28:47Speaker 2: They know what the symptom is. What's the cause when
- 28:50Speaker 2: he's throwing one hundred percent, when he's throwing fifty sixty
- 28:55Speaker 2: pitches as he's going to go tonight, how does his
- 28:57Speaker 2: elbow react to that? And if I can go back
- 28:59Speaker 2: to Schooble, yeah, I think they might look for it.
- 29:03Speaker 2: Radonna's out, He's gonna be back. They've got enough pitching.
- 29:06Speaker 2: My question was Scooble for you guys, is do the
- 29:12Speaker 2: new CBA and what we're talking about with the limit
- 29:15Speaker 2: on contracts, do somebody go out and get Scooble knowing
- 29:17Speaker 2: they could extend him now that they could instead of
- 29:21Speaker 2: waiting and missing out. You know he I'm sure Scott
- 29:26Speaker 2: Boris knows a ten to eleven year contract isn't gonna happen
- 29:29Speaker 2: next year, probably, But if you could get traded to
- 29:33Speaker 2: a team that's willing to sign him. I think that's
- 29:36Speaker 2: gonna move things and adds kind of an interesting element
- 29:40Speaker 2: to the trade deadline.
- 29:42Speaker 5: I think Scooble gets his contract before December second or first, whatever,
- 29:46Speaker 5: whenever the lockout is, so, before any rules actually happened.
- 29:49Speaker 5: I think Schooble's the one. I mean, we saw the
- 29:51Speaker 5: rash of contracts before. But I want to talk about
- 29:54Speaker 5: another guy that's out right now and is on contract
- 29:58Speaker 5: but is only like fourteen years old, Connor Griffin. When
- 30:02Speaker 5: the news came out about his injury, there was possibly
- 30:07Speaker 5: able to rehabit while still playing, then four to six weeks,
- 30:13Speaker 5: then once they finally got I don't know if you
- 30:16Speaker 5: image a finger or how that works, but can you
- 30:19Speaker 5: give us a little bit more insight on his injury
- 30:21Speaker 5: and now why it's an eight to ten week instead
- 30:25Speaker 5: of the original what we had thought. Okay, maybe he
- 30:27Speaker 5: misses a month to a week more.
- 30:30Speaker 2: Yeah, because of where it is. It's a pulley tendon
- 30:34Speaker 2: in his ring finger, so he's just not going to
- 30:36Speaker 2: be able to grip. It's actually the weakest finger to
- 30:39Speaker 2: begin with. If you talked to pianists, I can remember
- 30:42Speaker 2: doing a story on this where a player who had
- 30:45Speaker 2: a tendon injury. His therapist had sent him for piano lessons.
- 30:49Speaker 2: We know Max Scher's are talking about this for his thumb,
- 30:52Speaker 2: but he's basically going to be in a splint for
- 30:54Speaker 2: about four weeks and then those next couple weeks. Where
- 30:58Speaker 2: we don't know is how long is it going to
- 31:00Speaker 2: take for him to get his grip strength back. If
- 31:02Speaker 2: he can't grip a bat, he can't play. And I
- 31:06Speaker 2: don't think it doesn't feel like the Pirates are any
- 31:09Speaker 2: rush to get him back. They know he's a long
- 31:12Speaker 2: term guy. So if they're not going to contend this year,
- 31:15Speaker 2: if they're not going to go out and make a
- 31:17Speaker 2: big deal, I think they're they're very willing to just
- 31:21Speaker 2: sit back and protect Connor Griffin, make sure something that
- 31:24Speaker 2: you know, it's one of those odd injuries. It just happens.
- 31:29Speaker 2: Nick Kurtz has a similar injury in his thumb. You know,
- 31:34Speaker 2: there's not really any way to protect this.
- 31:37Speaker 3: I want to talk about the Mets real quick sodo,
- 31:42Speaker 3: not Mets shouto shuffle, and he's been doing well, but
- 31:44Speaker 3: with that caff I want to talk a bit about that.
- 31:47Speaker 3: As April wasn't as good talk about Simeon and Robert
- 31:51Speaker 3: on rehabit signments. How are they looking come moving forward?
- 31:55Speaker 2: Yeah, Simeon and Robert both the starting rehabs. They should
- 31:59Speaker 2: be back quickly. Send in a little bit beforehand, Robert
- 32:02Speaker 2: a little bit after. But with Soto, it's not the
- 32:04Speaker 2: same calf that put him out early in April. It's
- 32:07Speaker 2: the other side. So that's sort of good, sort of bad.
- 32:12Speaker 4: You know, it's not of.
- 32:12Speaker 2: Recurrence, but now it's you know, another issue. I think
- 32:18Speaker 2: it'll slow him up the way it did at the
- 32:19Speaker 2: start of the season. They're gonna have to protect him.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Do they put him at d H. He's not good
- 32:24Speaker 2: defensive the place? Why don't they? It's not a significant strain.
- 32:31Speaker 2: I think it's one though they'll have to watch. Last
- 32:34Speaker 2: I heard they're expecting him to play this weekend. But
- 32:37Speaker 2: you know, these little niggling injuries to a superstar can
- 32:40Speaker 2: really pull them down, especially at a time you would
- 32:43Speaker 2: hope that they can kind of reset figure out where
- 32:46Speaker 2: they are. They really haven't had the team they thought
- 32:49Speaker 2: they were gonna have this entire season, and when you
- 32:51Speaker 2: look back, everything's gone wrong for them. But you know,
- 32:54Speaker 2: back at the start of the season or in the
- 32:56Speaker 2: offseason when they're doing all these moves, I was like, Oh,
- 32:59Speaker 2: Louise Robert, if they can keep him healthy, he'll be great.
- 33:01Speaker 2: Semi it. Maybe this resets him and his career doesn't
- 33:05Speaker 2: keep declining. Soto, maybe he has a great season. Boba Scheff.
- 33:09Speaker 2: I thought they overpaid a little bit, but I still
- 33:11Speaker 2: like the move. None of them have worked, even Freddy Peralta,
- 33:15Speaker 2: who is great. He's just another Brewer that leaves the
- 33:18Speaker 2: lab and starts a decline phase. So nothing's gone right
- 33:23Speaker 2: for the Mets. So hopefully we'll have a couple of
- 33:25Speaker 2: little things go right for him, see what this team
- 33:27Speaker 2: might actually be.
- 33:29Speaker 3: Well.
- 33:29Speaker 1: Last question for me roman Anthony, And the reason I
- 33:31Speaker 1: wanted to bring it up is because you had talked
- 33:33Speaker 1: about Griffin with the finger and the pinky finger and
- 33:38Speaker 1: very painful and the piano and all that. What is
- 33:41Speaker 1: going on with Roman Anthony? They sent him out to
- 33:44Speaker 1: Florida to visit the specialist in Atlanta. I haven't heard
- 33:48Speaker 1: much about it, but nobody seems to be able to
- 33:50Speaker 1: pinpoint exactly what's going on with this kid.
- 33:54Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the issue, is nothing's happening. There's been no setback,
- 33:58Speaker 2: but there's been no progress. His finger just isn't getting stronger.
- 34:03Speaker 2: And again, if you can't squeeze the bat, you can't
- 34:05Speaker 2: swing the bat, you can't play baseball the way everybody's
- 34:09Speaker 2: told us he can play. You know, the socks. Again,
- 34:13Speaker 2: they're sort of in the wildcard chase. Well they are
- 34:17Speaker 2: in the wildcard chase. They're a mediocre team, but without him,
- 34:21Speaker 2: without the young players they thought they were going to have,
- 34:24Speaker 2: it's interesting to see them sort of contending. We just
- 34:28Speaker 2: don't know. This is the third specialist he's seen, and
- 34:30Speaker 2: there's been from what I'm told, absolutely no progress at all.
- 34:35Speaker 2: So I don't know how many more specialists he's gonna see.
- 34:38Speaker 2: I don't know when they start the faith healers or
- 34:40Speaker 2: the voodoo doctors or what they're gonna have, but at
- 34:43Speaker 2: some point they're gonna need something.
- 34:46Speaker 5: And he signed a contract, so he's good to go
- 34:49Speaker 5: and make sure he's healthy by the time he's back.
- 34:51Speaker 5: Here's my last question for you. It's a general question,
- 34:54Speaker 5: but it's a question that I think teams when they're
- 34:57Speaker 5: looking at trade deadline pieces kind of of pushes guys away.
- 35:01Speaker 5: Do you feel like, from your opinion, I mean, from
- 35:04Speaker 5: your expertise. Players are can are injury prone, soft or
- 35:11Speaker 5: they have a chronic issue that if it is taught
- 35:17Speaker 5: like found it will save hamstrings. For Ronald Lcunya, Okay,
- 35:23Speaker 5: he's got a chronic issue. Mike Trout had had issue.
- 35:27Speaker 5: You know, where do you go when they're that discussion
- 35:31Speaker 5: has had are you more medical saying I bet there's
- 35:34Speaker 5: one chronic thing we can find this because his hips
- 35:37Speaker 5: are tight, his back is out of alignment, that type
- 35:40Speaker 5: of thing.
- 35:41Speaker 2: There are a lot of things you can look at,
- 35:43Speaker 2: but you know, most teams have really good medical staffs,
- 35:46Speaker 2: even the ones that don't have great results, they try
- 35:49Speaker 2: real hard. They've got good resources, they've got all the
- 35:51Speaker 2: people around. It's largely the same doctors. You hear the
- 35:55Speaker 2: same names all the time because they're the best in
- 35:58Speaker 2: the world. So no, I don't think that going from
- 36:01Speaker 2: one team to another often correct things. The biggest predictor
- 36:06Speaker 2: of injuries is previous injuries. So you know, if you've
- 36:11Speaker 2: had hamstring strains, you're very likely to have more ham
- 36:15Speaker 2: string strains, calf strains, elbow issues, you go down the list.
- 36:20Speaker 2: I don't think players are injury prone. I think Mike
- 36:25Speaker 2: Trout's an example you tossed out there. Mike Trout has
- 36:28Speaker 2: every gift God could give, save one that I know of,
- 36:32Speaker 2: and that's he just heals slow. It seems like, you know,
- 36:35Speaker 2: if you say four to six weeks, he's always going
- 36:38Speaker 2: to be at the six. You know, for every injury
- 36:41Speaker 2: he's had, and for the last couple of years there
- 36:44Speaker 2: have been a lot of them, He's just been at
- 36:46Speaker 2: the long end of it, sometimes the extremely long end
- 36:49Speaker 2: of it with that calf a couple of years ago.
- 36:52Speaker 2: So is that genetic? We don't know. Is that soft?
- 36:57Speaker 2: I'm certainly not going to say that to his face.
- 36:59Speaker 2: So I think with most players it's pretty standard. I
- 37:05Speaker 2: hate the term injury prone, but there is a time
- 37:09Speaker 2: when it's probably accurate.
- 37:11Speaker 1: All right, Well, we appreciate all the information. As always.
- 37:14Speaker 1: You can follow more of Will Carroll on Injury Territory
- 37:17Speaker 1: on YouTube and wherever you get your pods. How long
- 37:21Speaker 1: will Francisco Lindor be a met? Jim Duquette, friend of
- 37:25Speaker 1: the show. I was told that the Mets would listen
- 37:27Speaker 1: on him in a deal, but two teams that are
- 37:28Speaker 1: buyers told me it's difficult trade to consider because the
- 37:31Speaker 1: length of the contract has limited no trade clause and
- 37:34Speaker 1: that he has not played well so far this season,
- 37:36Speaker 1: so the Mets would have to take back a considerable
- 37:38Speaker 1: amount of money. Another team called him quote immovable right now.
- 37:42Speaker 1: I know that there seems to be friction guys when
- 37:44Speaker 1: it comes to Francisco Lindor and Juan Soda. We know
- 37:47Speaker 1: Wan Soda is there for a long time. Francisco Lindor
- 37:51Speaker 1: seems to not be todd What do you think about
- 37:53Speaker 1: that he is apparently on the table one of the
- 37:56Speaker 1: guys that the Mets are willing to move.
- 37:59Speaker 3: Yeah, it's one of those things where we talk about
- 38:02Speaker 3: money all the time, talk about contracts and are they
- 38:05Speaker 3: willing to take some money or is Lindor willing to
- 38:08Speaker 3: move on the no trade Cause there's a lot of
- 38:11Speaker 3: variables into these things and the players ultimately, if you
- 38:15Speaker 3: played a long time, you have this. A lot of
- 38:17Speaker 3: these guys have this in their claws and their contracts
- 38:19Speaker 3: and stuff to say no even if it was work
- 38:22Speaker 3: out for both of them. So yeah, I mean, listen,
- 38:25Speaker 3: if Lindor was playing a little bit better, yeah, of course, Uh,
- 38:29Speaker 3: it'll be a lot more buyers. But again, you know
- 38:32Speaker 3: this is good sources talking to Jim Dekatt and I
- 38:37Speaker 3: don't know. I'm not sure about this one. Uh. I
- 38:39Speaker 3: know we're gonna get more into the Mets here as
- 38:41Speaker 3: we move along, so uh, it's more to talk about
- 38:44Speaker 3: as we move forward.
- 38:46Speaker 5: I don't think Lindor gets moved, but I also think
- 38:48Speaker 5: the Mets. I also think the Mets are like whoa, whoa,
- 38:51Speaker 5: and Mets fans like, let's pump the brakes like it's
- 38:54Speaker 5: a big league shortstop who has consistently put together the
- 38:59Speaker 5: exact same season every year of his career. So I
- 39:03Speaker 5: would bet that it's going to get better. But I
- 39:05Speaker 5: also think that some of this, where there's smoke, there's fire.
- 39:09Speaker 5: Who gave Lindor that contract? Was David Stearns, who gave
- 39:13Speaker 5: Soto his contract? Yeah, David Stearns was there, but Uncle
- 39:18Speaker 5: Stevie was there. Stevie Cohen was there, you know, pushing
- 39:21Speaker 5: that that was his marquee contract. I think there's a
- 39:25Speaker 5: little bit to it, But no way he gets moved.
- 39:28Speaker 5: No way they get a package for what they would
- 39:30Speaker 5: want Francisco Lindor to be replaced with. Like you got
- 39:35Speaker 5: to find a short stop to play in New York City.
- 39:37Speaker 5: That's a big deal. Francisco Lindor is still a really
- 39:40Speaker 5: good player. I don't care what he's done so far
- 39:41Speaker 5: this year, really quickly.
- 39:43Speaker 1: What do you think has been going on with him
- 39:45Speaker 1: in terms of the errors, because you can take it
- 39:47Speaker 1: if it's a physical error, but the mental error seem
- 39:49Speaker 1: to be odd.
- 39:51Speaker 5: I think I think that was beginning of the season.
- 39:53Speaker 5: I think he was a little out of it, distracted.
- 39:55Speaker 5: But it's been less and less as it's happened this year.
- 39:59Speaker 5: But a little distracted, all right.
- 40:12Speaker 1: They say that Dusty Baker invented the high five. Not
- 40:15Speaker 1: sure if that's true or not, but I'm gonna go
- 40:17Speaker 1: with that. Time now, of slap hands. Let's talk about
- 40:20Speaker 1: the games on the docket for this evening as the
- 40:22Speaker 1: second half kicks off for everybody. Obviously, the Mets and
- 40:25Speaker 1: the Phillies played yesterday, but I think everybody is in
- 40:28Speaker 1: action tonight. So guys, looking at the schedule, what are
- 40:31Speaker 1: you watching? What should we be watching? Todd, I'll start
- 40:33Speaker 1: with you, obviously, not the Midwest.
- 40:38Speaker 3: Yeah, we're not gonna we're not gonna prolong this, okay,
- 40:42Speaker 3: So people, and whenever I go there and it's only
- 40:45Speaker 3: I like the NL Central, Okay, I do like the
- 40:48Speaker 3: NL Central. I love the NL Central, and you got
- 40:53Speaker 3: me off kilt and now I'm gonna be biased again.
- 40:55Speaker 3: You guys call me biased. I'm gonna be biased. I
- 40:59Speaker 3: am going to watch the Dodgers and the Yankees and
- 41:03Speaker 3: nothing else. Okay, you can have that, put it on
- 41:06Speaker 3: a plate and then serve it to me. I'm not
- 41:08Speaker 3: watching any other games this weekend except that.
- 41:11Speaker 1: You know what, You're a busy man. You got you
- 41:14Speaker 1: got kids, you got a family, you got tournament, all
- 41:17Speaker 1: kinds of stuff.
- 41:18Speaker 2: I give you that.
- 41:19Speaker 1: I think a lot of people are watching that game,
- 41:20Speaker 1: and you don't even have to be a fan of
- 41:23Speaker 1: either team. Eric, what are you watching? Are you watching
- 41:25Speaker 1: your pills?
- 41:26Speaker 4: What are you doing?
- 41:27Speaker 2: What are you doing?
- 41:28Speaker 4: Well?
- 41:28Speaker 5: Major League Baseball had to have them play yesterday, so
- 41:32Speaker 5: they get an off day today for the third Friday
- 41:35Speaker 5: off day of the season.
- 41:37Speaker 1: So weird.
- 41:38Speaker 5: One was a World Cup one and then two of them,
- 41:42Speaker 5: you know whatever.
- 41:44Speaker 4: Anyway, that's that's here nor there.
- 41:45Speaker 5: I guess Majorly Baseball is enough money that they don't
- 41:48Speaker 5: need Friday primetime games with one of the best teams
- 41:52Speaker 5: in the league.
- 41:52Speaker 4: But I'm going to watch more of them.
- 41:55Speaker 5: Midwest because I'm actually heading out to Milwaukee later this
- 41:59Speaker 5: later later next week, I guess I'm going to Milwaukee.
- 42:01Speaker 5: So it's the Brewers and the Marlins for only one reason,
- 42:06Speaker 5: because I want to see the Marlins going up against
- 42:10Speaker 5: the best, second best team in the National League record
- 42:13Speaker 5: wise right now. I want to see is this Marlins
- 42:17Speaker 5: team what I think they are a legitimate contender for
- 42:21Speaker 5: a solid playoff spot or are they a team that
- 42:25Speaker 5: has you know, we'll come back from the break and
- 42:28Speaker 5: we'll just see what happens.
- 42:29Speaker 4: I think it is.
- 42:30Speaker 5: I think that's the best. I think you want to
- 42:31Speaker 5: come back from break bang play the best team right away,
- 42:35Speaker 5: because if not, then.
- 42:36Speaker 4: You might come back a little malaised.
- 42:39Speaker 5: Instead, they're going right in and they got to play
- 42:41Speaker 5: the Brewers right out the jump, all right.
- 42:44Speaker 1: I like that Brewers and the Marlins. That is at
- 42:47Speaker 1: a seven forty pm first pitch, I'm going to be
- 42:51Speaker 1: splitting back and forth because they're basically playing at the
- 42:55Speaker 1: same exact time Dodgers and the Yankees. Of course, I'm
- 42:57Speaker 1: just interested in that for obvious reason. It's a matchup
- 43:01Speaker 1: of the twenty twenty four World Series and also raise
- 43:04Speaker 1: a Red Sox. The reason being going into the first
- 43:07Speaker 1: half of the season, guys going into the All Star
- 43:09Speaker 1: break rather the Red Sox rattled off nine straight wins,
- 43:12Speaker 1: and they're making it at least interesting and forcing the
- 43:14Speaker 1: issue for Craig Breslo, for Sam Kennedy, for John Henry,
- 43:19Speaker 1: for Tom Werner to figure out are we going to
- 43:22Speaker 1: are they going to buy? Are they going to sell?
- 43:23Speaker 1: What are they doing? That's exactly what they did last
- 43:26Speaker 1: season going into the All Star break, So I'm interested
- 43:29Speaker 1: to see if they could continue this. Obviously, they're playing
- 43:31Speaker 1: right now doubleheader. The last I checked, they were ahead
- 43:34Speaker 1: in this game. So to talk to Eric's point, if
- 43:38Speaker 1: they won the first one, they're probably going to lose
- 43:40Speaker 1: the second one, which means my BETTAMGM pick is wrong.
- 43:43Speaker 2: So there's that.
- 43:44Speaker 1: But yeah, a bunch of Red Sox, Rays and Yanks
- 43:48Speaker 1: Dodgers both interested in those games. And it's a decent
- 43:52Speaker 1: start too, the Dodgers on the East Coast. Finally, normally
- 43:55Speaker 1: I have to, you know, start watching them at like
- 43:57Speaker 1: ten PM because I'm biased.
- 44:01Speaker 5: No, I wouldn't say i'm biased. I'm just liking the expresso.
- 44:10Speaker 3: Listen, you're like a chick, dude, you don't forget any
- 44:14Speaker 3: little thing that and you bring it up and you
- 44:17Speaker 3: try and embarrass them, and guess what, I'm gonna go
- 44:20Speaker 3: get an express away after this too, right away?
- 44:22Speaker 4: What did what did all girls in America have against you? Tah?
- 44:26Speaker 2: That was rude.
- 44:27Speaker 1: And second comment, Hey, Eric Kratz, whose things?
- 44:34Speaker 2: Whose things?
- 44:35Speaker 1: Espresso?
- 44:38Speaker 2: Right now?
- 44:38Speaker 1: Who sings espresso?
- 44:39Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 44:39Speaker 1: The song?
- 44:41Speaker 4: I don't know, Sabrina Carpenter.
- 44:44Speaker 5: Man, get with it all right, Sabrina Carpenter had that
- 44:49Speaker 5: one drink. She has that one drink that everybody wants
- 44:52Speaker 5: from Starbucks.
- 44:56Speaker 3: That's a great weekend.
- 44:57Speaker 4: Man, you're looking your all stars.
- 45:00Speaker 3: You're right. Come on and watch us for a game.
- 45:03Speaker 4: O woll Game changer.
- 45:04Speaker 3: You'll learn it. You'll learn how to you learn how
- 45:06Speaker 3: to coach Game two.
- 45:11Speaker 1: Corret guys, that's the sound of the bat hitting the
- 45:14Speaker 1: baseball and a reward being dropped into your account. Take
- 45:17Speaker 1: a swingy today and are free to play a game.
- 45:19Speaker 1: If you get a hit, you'll score a reward depending

- 45:28Speaker 1: bet MGM. Play as the batter and select an area
- 45:31Speaker 1: of the strike zone. That's number one and number two.

- 45:41Speaker 1: Gambling problem or concern called one eight hundred gambler
