  SPEAKER_00: Have you guys ever had a time in your life when all you wanted to do was fit in with the popular crowd?

  SPEAKER_00: Maybe it was being a part of the in crowd in high school or the cool kids in your neighborhood.

  SPEAKER_00: For adults, maybe it was with a certain group at church or an important group at work.

  SPEAKER_00: In Matthew 7,

  SPEAKER_00: verses 13 and 14,

  SPEAKER_00: the Bible tells us a big crowd is going to be traveling down that wide road to hell,

  SPEAKER_00: while only a few will be traveling on the narrow road to heaven.

  SPEAKER_00: You know, as Christians, we are called to stand for Christ regardless of how many stand with us.

  SPEAKER_00: When God gave the Israelites the Mosaic Covenant in Exodus 23,

  SPEAKER_00: he warned them not to disregard what was right just to go along with the crowd.

  SPEAKER_00: Because he knew it was going to be hard to go against a mob.

  SPEAKER_00: Exodus 23 says, and I'm going to read out of the New American Standard Bible, 1995 update.

  SPEAKER_00: in order to pervert justice.

  SPEAKER_00: Currently, our society normalizes things that are in direct defiance of God's laws.

  SPEAKER_00: There are those in our world who would like us to believe that abortion is no big

  SPEAKER_00: deal when God clearly says,

  SPEAKER_00: do not murder.
• 1:44
  SPEAKER_00: There are those in the world who would have us believe that sexual perversion is

  SPEAKER_00: normal when God clearly lays out what is considered appropriate sexual relations.

  SPEAKER_00: The masses would have us believe because we're in the minority, we are wrong.

  SPEAKER_00: We mustn't be swayed by the world to abandon God's principles only just to appease the majority.

  SPEAKER_00: 1 Corinthians 15, 58, and I'll read out of the New King James Version.

  SPEAKER_00: Therefore,

  SPEAKER_00: my beloved brethren,

  SPEAKER_00: be steadfast,

  SPEAKER_00: immovable,

  SPEAKER_00: always abounding in the work of the Lord,

  SPEAKER_00: knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

  SPEAKER_00: Many false teachers,
• 2:28
  SPEAKER_00: they may have thousands of followers,

  SPEAKER_00: sell a ton of books,
• 2:31
  SPEAKER_00: and draw huge concert attendance.

  SPEAKER_00: And their message may be popular, but fame doesn't equal truth.

  SPEAKER_00: Abortion and sexuality are just two of the many hot-button topics where the opinion

  SPEAKER_00: of the largest group goes against God's commands.

  SPEAKER_00: For Christians,
• 2:50
  SPEAKER_00: it's going to get even harder to stand for what is right,
• 2:53
  SPEAKER_00: and I want to encourage you today.

  SPEAKER_00: Be discerning.
• 2:57
  SPEAKER_00: Be wise.
• 2:58
  SPEAKER_00: Be vigilant.
• 2:59
  SPEAKER_00: Make sure those who influence you teach and live what is biblical.

  SPEAKER_00: Most false teachings contain some element of truth, which is then twisted.

  SPEAKER_00: They can mix a little truth with a whole lot of lies and twist it to make it sound

  SPEAKER_00: like you're a horrible person if you don't see things their way.

  SPEAKER_00: Friend, it is easy to follow the crowd.
• 3:22
  SPEAKER_00: And it takes work to study the Bible and courage to stand for what is right.

  SPEAKER_00: But we've got to be diligent and stay close to the Savior so the enemy doesn't use
• 3:31
  SPEAKER_00: our apathy to draw us into the wrong crowd.

  SPEAKER_00: It's easy to get nervous,
• 3:37
  SPEAKER_00: scared,
• 3:38
  SPEAKER_00: or tongue-tied when someone is arguing with your stance and trying to destroy not
• 3:42
  SPEAKER_00: only your opinion,
• 3:44
  SPEAKER_00: but you as a person.
• 3:47
  SPEAKER_00: The Holy Spirit lives inside of each Christian, and he will help you.
• 3:51
  SPEAKER_00: He will be right there with you,
• 3:53
  SPEAKER_00: but God told us we would face persecution,
• 3:56
  SPEAKER_00: and it's going to get worse before it gets better.

  SPEAKER_00: Let's pray for strength and wisdom during these days.

  SPEAKER_00: We all need it.

  SPEAKER_00: Stand up for the Lord, guys.

  SPEAKER_00: Be prepared and ready, even if you have to stand alone.
