- 0:02Hello, welcome to He's hot, but something's off.
- 0:06I literally had to re record that one line that I've said a
- 0:11million times because I accidentally introduced the gay
- 0:16crews at travel podcast and I caught myself halfway through
- 0:19was like, no, that's not my recording right now.
- 0:21I'm just going to tell you about my day so far.
- 0:23It it's barely 3:00 PM, but as I'm recording this and we'll see
- 0:27how it goes. So as I do, when I wake up, the
- 0:33first thing I do is reach for my phone off the night stand.
- 0:37I barely move. I turn my body towards the night
- 0:42stand just enough so that I can reach my phone from the charger
- 0:49and grab it and then immediately tuck my arm back under the
- 0:54blanket. OK, literally like that.
- 0:58And the weird thing that happened was, oh, the Wi-Fi
- 1:03isn't working. Wi-Fi isn't working.
- 1:05And in my house, cellular reception is not very good.
- 1:13When I first moved into this place, it took a few like two or
- 1:18three weeks before the Internet actually worked because the
- 1:22previous owner had DSL. OK.
- 1:28Most of you don't know what DSL is, even if you're like alive
- 1:35and like well into your adihood. When DSL came out, it was never
- 1:38like a super popular technology. DSL was a way to get Internet
- 1:44and it came out for home Internet around the same time
- 1:47that cable came out. OK, like cable got way more
- 1:50popular. People don't do DSL anymore, but
- 1:54somehow I've only been here for like 5 or 6 years.
- 1:57The previous person had DSL and obviously that wouldn't do so I
- 2:02needed to get cable instead. But this particular unit was not
- 2:06wired for cable because the people that lived here before
- 2:09never had cable. So I needed spectrum to like
- 2:13come out and like hook stuff up. So it wasn't just like they
- 2:16flipped a switch. But while I was waiting for that
- 2:19to happen, I had like two or three weeks that I didn't have
- 2:21Internet and it was kind of difficult.
- 2:24But I found that if I had my phone or hotspot where one of
- 2:32the patio windows were, so like the patio off of my living room,
- 2:37I could get just enough LTE to be like for it to be doable.
- 2:43Like if I needed to do some work, it wasn't going to be
- 2:46fast, but it would be workable. So any other part of my house if
- 2:51I step just like a few feet away from that patio door, like you
- 2:57wouldn't be able to do anything. So I'm very critically rely on
- 3:01Wi-Fi and my Internet connection in my house.
- 3:04And you know, Spectrum is not that reliable here.
- 3:08It's like possibly reliable. It's gotten better.
- 3:11But like, you know, I could probably expect once 1/4 every
- 3:15few months for there to be like a short outage.
- 3:18But yeah, for some reason woke up, Wi-Fi wasn't working,
- 3:23Internet was out. So I mean, it's not a big
- 3:26problem for me to not have Internet if I don't need to get
- 3:30anything done, right? If you have to work from home or
- 3:34like there's something you need to get done online, which is
- 3:37like so many things nowadays, it's hard when you don't have
- 3:40working Internet and most people use their phones.
- 3:42I really couldn't. But today of all days, this
- 3:46morning I had a work conference call.
- 3:50I could have rescheduled it, but it's like it's I didn't want to
- 3:53and like it wasn't super necessary.
- 3:55And So what I did was I took my phone and I put it onto a tripod
- 4:01that I have like a phone specific tripod, a travel one
- 4:03that I usually travel with if I need to do filming on location.
- 4:07And I just popped it right in front of the patio door in my
- 4:11living room. And I grabbed one of the chairs,
- 4:13my dining room chairs and I just like pointed the chair outside.
- 4:18So at least I had some, you know, some nice greenery to look
- 4:21at. And I took my conference call.
- 4:23That was conference call and it was kind of important.
- 4:26It was like I needed the connection to like work.
- 4:30So the 10 minutes meeting up to it was like me trying to move
- 4:33the phone in different directions and running speed
- 4:34tests and see if it's like still OK and things like that.
- 4:37I couldn't have my camera on because that took up too much
- 4:41bandwidth. So it's like have my camera off,
- 4:43which is like whatever the other people, they had to present some
- 4:49slides and dashboards and things to me and like I was able to see
- 4:52that, thank goodness. And the audio was fine.
- 4:56So like, OK, at least have that. But after I did the call and I
- 5:01was just checking the status of the outage, it's like, oh, we'll
- 5:03we'll give you an update in like 6 hours.
- 5:06It's like OK, well this doesn't help me.
- 5:09Today's a gym day. So I was thinking, OK, I
- 5:13finished the call. It was like 11 AM when I
- 5:15finished the call. God knows how much longer I
- 5:18won't have Internet for. And I was thinking, well, let's
- 5:22just go to the gym early because, you know, hopefully
- 5:26after I've been at the gym, by the time I get back, we'll have
- 5:29Internet again and then like we'll be fine.
- 5:31I don't usually go to the gym that early and I usually like to
- 5:34have like a coffee, some caffeine, pre workout, a little
- 5:38bit of food before I go to the gym.
- 5:41But by this time, because I'm on this, I can't snack between
- 5:47meals right now. I'm still working on my diet.
- 5:51And one of the rules, one of the few rules I have about eating
- 5:54right now is that I'm absolutely not allowed to have any
- 5:58calories, even like 10 or 20 calories between my meals.
- 6:04I could have black coffee, plain tea, water, and like that's
- 6:10pretty much it. There's like absolutely no solid
- 6:13foods that I can have. So it's like, OK, still, it's
- 6:16only been two hours since I finished breakfast.
- 6:18There's still another two hours to go before I can eat lunch.
- 6:22I was like, you know what, let's just go to the gym.
- 6:24We don't have, we don't have Internet at home.
- 6:26I suppose to go to the gym. Anyways, if the Internet comes
- 6:29back by the time I get back, then we can just be productive
- 6:32in the afternoon. So I went to the gym.
- 6:35You know, The funny thing is 5 minutes before I left for the
- 6:38gym, the Internet came back up and there was a moment where I'm
- 6:41like, oh, maybe I'll just go to the gym at the regular time.
- 6:44But by the time I already like drank a black coffee and I was
- 6:49already changed into my gym clothes, I was like ready to go.
- 6:52And the coffee that I drank was the most sour coffee that I have
- 6:58drank in a while. So I have an espresso machine
- 7:01that I like do my own shots and I'll, I'll steam my own milk and
- 7:05things like that. For whatever reason, the coffee
- 7:11it's been pulling, it's been sour.
- 7:13OK. So I think it's like I need to
- 7:15descale the machine and probably because the beans are getting
- 7:21stale, they're not super great beans to start with.
- 7:23And like I think they've been sitting there for like a while.
- 7:26I've been, it's like the end of a bag, but this bag has lasted
- 7:29extra long because I couldn't have any coffee for the two
- 7:31weeks when I was doing that special liquids diet at the end
- 7:34of December. So I order brand new beans.
- 7:38They're supposed to come today. They're sitting in my probably
- 7:41in the mailroom right now. But this morning they haven't
- 7:43arrived. And I was thinking, OK, I just
- 7:46want a little bit of caffeine. I can't have any calories at
- 7:49this point, but I can have black coffee.
- 7:51So I can have like just straight espresso, which I never drank.
- 7:54It's always a latte. It's always like mixed into
- 7:55something, but it's like I just wanted some caffeine.
- 7:58So I just did that. But it's like the worst shot of
- 8:02espresso I've ever had because even when I was making lattes
- 8:05the last few days, you can tell that the shots were sour.
- 8:09It was no point. It was not good.
- 8:12But like, I just downed it anyways.
- 8:15And OK, off to the gym I go. It's quite warm.
- 8:18We're getting a little bit of a heat wave.
- 8:19It's currently unseasonably warm.
- 8:22It's 80. It's 80° right now outside at
- 8:263:00 PM. And this little mini heat wave
- 8:29supposed to be here for like the next like 5 or 6 days.
- 8:33So it's nice. I kind of prefer like this kind
- 8:36of like temperature range. I like it when it's like high
- 8:39seventies, 80 ish during the day, but then you know at night
- 8:43it will be like 50. It's like perfect for sleeping
- 8:46when it's cold at night. But then during the day it's
- 8:48like you don't need to have a whole bunch of clothes.
- 8:50So the weather is actually nice. It's the only thing that's going
- 8:52for me right now. Got to the gym and the thing I
- 8:57don't love about my gym is if you show up before like 12:30 or
- 9:02one, they've got classes that they run in the morning.
- 9:06In the afternoon, they don't run as many classes.
- 9:08A lot of the classes are like in the morning time.
- 9:11The last class I think finishes at 12:30 and then usually when I
- 9:15go at like 2:00 or 3:00 PM, there's not usually a class.
- 9:19So I got there like, I don't know, 11-30, something like
- 9:23that. And there wasn't a class active.
- 9:26What happened was all the people that took a class before the
- 9:30classes ended and they're just on the, they're on the gym
- 9:33floor, which is even worse. So like there's all these extra,
- 9:37I'm going to sound like such a spoiled brat.
- 9:40I just don't like it when there's like a lot of extra
- 9:42people. This sounds so horrible.
- 9:46OK. I just don't like it when
- 9:48there's like all these extra like post gym class people.
- 9:52Let's not get into it. I just let me just put it this
- 9:56way. It was more people than I
- 9:57expected and it was like I found the people more annoying than
- 10:00usual. I'll just leave it at that.
- 10:02I know it's not rational, that's just how I felt.
- 10:05Anyways, I did my workout, it wasn't that bad because I think
- 10:10my system has kind of been pretty conditioned to caffeine
- 10:14so I don't get like a major caffeine cake from just like a
- 10:18double shot of espresso and the beans that I have were probably
- 10:21stale so it's probably not even that much caffeine in it.
- 10:24I got a decent workout in today. That part wasn't so bad.
- 10:30And every time I leave the gym I always ask myself, do I need
- 10:33groceries? Do I need to stop by the Trader
- 10:34Joe's? And today I was just like, well,
- 10:38I went to the Trader Joe's couple days ago.
- 10:40I still have eggs, I still have bread, I still have chicken.
- 10:43I was like, OK, I don't think I need to go, but like, I kind of
- 10:48don't want to go. I just kind of just want to go
- 10:51home because I know that the Internet is already back on.
- 10:52I kind of just want to go home. I was getting hungry.
- 10:54It was coming up to lunchtime. So like, OK, let's just go home
- 10:58and just cook lunch. Got home, started cooking lunch
- 11:03and while the lunch is cooking, by the way, I got the new air
- 11:05fryer. So cooking lunch is a lot faster
- 11:08now. It used to take me like half an
- 11:09hour to do like fries and chicken in this host oven.
- 11:13Now it takes like 20 which is pretty fast.
- 11:18So I put the stuff in the air fryer and I'm thinking, you know
- 11:21what? I think I shouldn't, I should
- 11:23descale the espresso machine because I looked up, oh, what
- 11:29could cause my machine to give me sour shots?
- 11:32And one of the things is like, oh, you might need to descale
- 11:36it. The other thing is it could be
- 11:37your beans. For me, I was thinking, OK, it's
- 11:39probably both because I know we have like borderline hard water
- 11:43in Los Angeles. And you do need to descale the
- 11:47machine every so often. Otherwise it will affect like
- 11:49the taste of the coffee. I don't think I've done it in a
- 11:51while. I got all the stuff for it.
- 11:53So it's like, OK, let's just like descale it.
- 11:55And I decided to descale it twice because sometimes when I
- 12:02clean something in the house that I don't usually clean, I'm
- 12:05going to be like, let's really clean it properly so that I
- 12:08don't have to do it again. The most annoying thing about
- 12:10cleaning something half ass is you have to do it really soon
- 12:15afterwards. I just want to like do it
- 12:17properly. I want to be like, I want to
- 12:19double down on cleaning something so that I know for
- 12:24sure that it's clean and I don't have to do it again soon.
- 12:28So, so it is with descaling. It's like, OK, it's not that
- 12:31hard to descale it. Once you do, it's like, OK, I've
- 12:33got all the solution and whatever stuff out.
- 12:36Let's just like run it through twice to make sure it's like
- 12:38really properly descaled. And after descaled, I start to
- 12:41clean it. There's like a descale cycle
- 12:43with one set of solution and it's just like cleaning solution
- 12:46for like a cleaning cycle. It's like, OK, I'll descale it
- 12:48twice and I'll clean it. And I'm choosing to do it now
- 12:51because I wanted a cup of coffee.
- 12:54I wanted a cup of coffee I've got thanks to the generosity of
- 12:57one of my Patreon subscribers. You know who you are.
- 13:00I don't know if you want to be called out.
- 13:02I have a second bean grinder now.
- 13:05So the expression machine has its own built in grinder for
- 13:08beans and that's the regular caffeinated coffee.
- 13:11And got a separate grinder for beans for the decaf so that I
- 13:16can easily do decaf or regular. And I've already gone to the
- 13:20gym. I didn't want more caffeine, so
- 13:22I wanted some decaf. So that's why I was trying to
- 13:25like descale and do it. I was like, OK, let's just like
- 13:28have a cup of coffee with lunch. Nice couple of latte, nice
- 13:31couple of decaf, have it with my lunch.
- 13:33I didn't get to have my coffee fixed yesterday or earlier
- 13:36today. I can have some decaf.
- 13:37That's exactly why I wanted that second grinder, so I could have
- 13:40coffee on days where like I didn't eat caffeine anyways.
- 13:44So I'm like descaling. It's like, no, let's do it
- 13:46again. And then as I'm cleaning the
- 13:47machine, the food is done. It takes like 8 or 10 minutes to
- 13:52just scale it. Once you do it twice, that's 20
- 13:53minutes. The food is in the fries ready.
- 13:55So OK, I don't want the food to go cold.
- 13:57So I put the machine cleaning on hold, went to eat my fries and
- 14:02my chicken. That's what I was cooking the
- 14:03air fryer. And then I'm like, OK, I'm done
- 14:06eating now. I'll go back to like I'll clean
- 14:09the machine and I can like have a cup of coffee and I have like
- 14:12a slice of peanut butter toast, but I'm still hungry.
- 14:14So I started doing that And while I'm like cleaning the
- 14:18machine, I'm like, I kind of wanted to get back to work.
- 14:21I've been working on creating this PDF guide that's supposed
- 14:26to be like a pre cruise guide for people that's going to go on
- 14:30to the Atlanta Symphony cruise. That's the first week of
- 14:32February. It was on February the 1st and I
- 14:36wanted to do it just like for kind of for like to promote the
- 14:41to promote just three travels without literally running an ad.
- 14:44But I started that project a week ago and I've been working
- 14:49on it pretty much every day. Every time, every day that I get
- 14:54up, I'm like, OK, I'm going to finish today.
- 14:57I'm nowhere near finish, let's put it that way.
- 15:00Yesterday was not a gym day. So all I did yesterday was work
- 15:03on that guide like from 9:00 AM up until like dinner time at
- 15:07eight, I was working on that guide.
- 15:09I just had the briefest break for like lunch and that was it.
- 15:12And yesterday I got so tired and sleepy at night, I went to bed
- 15:17at 10. Usually even at 11, I'm not
- 15:20sleepy yet. And I just like forced myself to
- 15:23like start winding down and go to bed.
- 15:26Yesterday it was 10:00, it was barely 10:00.
- 15:30And I was like, I'm actually feel sleepy because.
- 15:33And the only thing I did was work on that stupid guy.
- 15:35So that is actually getting me to the point where I'm getting,
- 15:39I'm getting so tired from doing it.
- 15:41Like mentally I'm getting like exhausted enough that I'm
- 15:45getting sleepy early. And I actually slept longer than
- 15:47usual last night. So I'm like, OK, I really want
- 15:50to get it done. I really want to get it done.
- 15:52But the cruise is only like 2 1/2 weeks away.
- 15:55I kind of want to get it out. We got the e-mail from Atlantis
- 15:58yesterday. That's like, OK, you can go
- 16:00register with Royal Caribbean now.
- 16:02You're like the party theme. This is like a good time to do
- 16:04it. So like as I'm doing everything
- 16:08today, this story, I'm telling you about how my day has gone so
- 16:12far. It's always been a back where I
- 16:13had like, OK, we want to just like, let's just get it done.
- 16:17It's like descaling the coffee machine.
- 16:18Let's just like double down and just get it done and then we can
- 16:21move on. Same with this like PDF guy for
- 16:22the quiz. Like let's just double down,
- 16:24let's just do it, let's get it done, let's send it out and
- 16:26let's move on. I've been trying to do that for
- 16:27like literally a week. I started like last Tuesday or
- 16:31Wednesday working on it. It's like 20 something pages
- 16:33long and there's not even one single finish page.
- 16:35Well, there's maybe like 6 or 7 pages that's like done.
- 16:38But anyways, we won't go into the the slight mess that is that
- 16:42PDF guy. So as I'm like cleaning the
- 16:46espresso machine, I'm like, oh, OK, we need, we're needing to
- 16:49like just get back to work. I want to just like get this
- 16:53thing published. There's no one asking for it.
- 16:55By the way, I decided to like, oh, it will be good for just
- 16:58Joey Travels and for like get my naming out there.
- 17:01I like the Facebook groups or whatever to like get this guy
- 17:04out sooner rather than later. So anyways, I get the machine
- 17:08cleaned. The kitchen counter is not now a
- 17:10mess, but just like water and solution and stuff everywhere.
- 17:12And I need to clean it and stuff is getting dirty.
- 17:14I get my coffee, I half my toast.
- 17:17OK, as I finished and I was going to go to the office, go to
- 17:21my desk, my work computer to start working on the thing.
- 17:24I just remember that, oh, it's Wednesday.
- 17:27So I need to record a podcast, this podcast that I'm recording
- 17:29for you now for Thursday, because I always record it in
- 17:32the afternoon. So I walk in the office, I turn
- 17:36the lights on and then I recognize, oh, it's, it's
- 17:38Wednesday. We need to record a podcast for
- 17:40tomorrow. And then that's at that point
- 17:43where like, you know what, let's just cut our losses today.
- 17:47Let's just like clean the house because you know, like I, the
- 17:50kitchen is like a little bit messy with like stuff and like I
- 17:52need to like wipe the floors and the counters are messy because
- 17:54all this solution you need to like cleaning the especial
- 17:57machine almost like spilled water everywhere.
- 18:00And I know like my toilet needs a clean and I got some slightly
- 18:04extra dirty laundry that's been sitting there for a couple of
- 18:06days now that it really shouldn't sit that long, but
- 18:08some of those things are going to sit.
- 18:11So when like 30 minutes ago when I realized, oh, we need to
- 18:16record a podcast. At that point, I'm like, OK,
- 18:20we're just going to, it's just going to be tours.
- 18:22It it's not going to be like a work day.
- 18:24It's going to be like a house work day.
- 18:27It's like, OK, we had the power outage.
- 18:29We did that one work meeting. We, we cleaned the especial
- 18:34machine. OK, It's like there's like
- 18:36laundry piling up. The bathroom is dirty.
- 18:40The laundry really needs to get done.
- 18:41It's like I need to record a podcast.
- 18:43Like let's just, OK, let's just do chores.
- 18:46Let's just do chores. Let's clean the bathroom, Let's
- 18:49clean the kitchen, let's do the laundry.
- 18:52Let's get the podcast up. And then like, it will be what
- 18:57it will be the rest of the day. Yeah, it, it's, it's 3:30 now.
- 19:02So I'm going to start the laundry.
- 19:07I'm going to clean up the mess I made in the kitchen.
- 19:11I am going to clean my bathroom because that's overdue.
- 19:15Like the mirrors are getting, you know, get you know how you
- 19:17get spiders all over your mirror And it's like eventually it's
- 19:19like, OK, this is gross. The toilet needs to be cleaned
- 19:23for sure. And whatever, whatever time is
- 19:28left over in between, then I will worry about other things
- 19:32later. You know, one of the great
- 19:34things since, since the new year, actually coming off of
- 19:39that special liquids diet that I was doing over like Christmas
- 19:42and that holidays period, basically, I've had a little
- 19:47less ADHDI don't know if I'm clinically technically have
- 19:51ADHD, but it is fairly easy sometimes for me to like be very
- 19:57scatterbrained. If I can sit down and like do
- 20:01one thing and like focus on it, then I can stay focused on it.
- 20:04But ever since I finished that liquid's diet, so basically
- 20:08since the since New Year's, I've been less scatter brained.
- 20:13And it does say that if you have this Siebel condition, which is
- 20:17a condition I was trying to fix, Siebel can cause a bit of brain
- 20:21fog, which is not technically what I had, but there is
- 20:25definitely quite a strong like brain gut connection.
- 20:31So, but I did feel myself, I've been able to be a little bit
- 20:34less scatterbrained, a little bit more focused and also like,
- 20:40I don't know directly, indirectly I've had like a
- 20:42little bit less anxiety about work stuff.
- 20:44So it's actually been quite nice.
- 20:46I don't know exactly the, you know, scientific link, but it,
- 20:50it's been nice to be like, OK, that little extra bit of focus
- 20:54has been nice for like my productivity.
- 20:56So yeah, that's, that's been my day so far.
- 21:01I'm supposed I do have a backup hotspot for times when my Wi-Fi
- 21:06goes down. I took the SIM card out of it.
- 21:08I don't know why. And I can't find that tiny
- 21:11little SIM card anymore. I think I happened upon it last
- 21:15sometime last year and I was like, Oh my God, I've been
- 21:16looking everywhere for this thing.
- 21:18Here it is. I'm going to put it somewhere
- 21:19where I won't lose it. And I think I just lost it
- 21:20again. Yeah.
- 21:23So that's my Wednesdays. Wednesday as we record this.
- 21:26I usually record this on Wednesdays.
- 21:28You know what, I think last year, me, if you asked me if
- 21:31this happened last year, I think I would have been more a day
- 21:37like this last year would have made me more frazzled and more
- 21:41frustrated and give me more anxiety because I for a lot of
- 21:45last year, I had this thing like, oh, we need to get stuff
- 21:49done. We need to get stuff done.
- 21:49We need to get stuff done. There's this or this, there's
- 21:52this and that. Also kind of like the
- 21:54scatterbrain kind of if you mix that in with the scatterbrain,
- 21:56it's just like not a super great state of mind to be in.
- 21:59But I'm pretty content to be like, you know what, we'll work
- 22:02on that guide later. And yeah, like, let's clean the
- 22:06house. And the universe is guiding me
- 22:10towards this path. The universe is like, bitch, you
- 22:14need to take out your recycling. It's full.
- 22:16The recycling is full. It's like, bitch, you need to go
- 22:19scrub your toilet because it's not pretty there.
- 22:24OK. The other thing I've been
- 22:28thinking about just at the very back of my head, regular
- 22:32listeners and especially my Patreon subscribers know that I
- 22:35was dog sitting for my friend again for like, it's about two
- 22:39weeks. Louis went home like, last week.
- 22:44Yeah, he went home about a week ago.
- 22:45So it was nice to have the company of a dog without any of
- 22:50the associated responsibilities. And I remember saying on the
- 22:53podcast, like it was like a day or two after Louis went home, I
- 22:57was like, well, I don't know about a dog right now, but
- 23:00definitely when you have the dog, when the dog was here, I
- 23:04there was more, there's more structure to my routine.
- 23:06Like, you know, in the morning, you have to take the dog out.
- 23:10They have to go do their number ones and number twos like fairly
- 23:15early on in the morning. You have to feed them.
- 23:17So, you know, it's one of the advantages.
- 23:23I mean, some people see it as like a disadvantage.
- 23:25And for me, I was like, OK, like having to take a dog out, you
- 23:30know, like 3 or 4 times a day so that they can like, do their
- 23:34thing. That sounds annoying.
- 23:37But I will say that I did definitely get more exercise.
- 23:41Like, I still went to the gym, but it's like I got way more
- 23:43steps in and it wasn't like annoying, you know, like, yeah,
- 23:47like the first few days might be annoying because like, it's only
- 23:50been like a few days. But you know, during the second
- 23:54week it was just like, you just get into like a routine.
- 23:57You know, he doesn't need. Louis didn't need tons of
- 24:00exercise. He's like a small dog.
- 24:01He's only like 13 lbs. He's a poodle.
- 24:04And you know, you don't need to like, walk 3 miles with it every
- 24:07single day. He just needs like a couple of
- 24:101520 minute walks. And at home, he's very, very
- 24:13chill. So now that I've, he's gone home
- 24:19for like a week, obviously, like right after he got home, he's
- 24:21like, OK, there was one part of me that I thought, I have my
- 24:23life back. It's great.
- 24:24Not that I was like dreading and like, you know, wanting the time
- 24:29to go to pass faster. It's like he would go home
- 24:32sooner. It wasn't like that, but it was
- 24:33like, oh, OK. Like I don't have to like take
- 24:34him over for a walk and do something to do that.
- 24:37Now that he's been gone for a week, I'm like, I'm not like
- 24:40more productive, you know, I think one part of me was
- 24:43thinking, OK, if you need to spend time taking care of a dog,
- 24:45that time has to come from something else.
- 24:48And that is going to maybe take away from like my work or
- 24:51productivity time. That I don't think it's true.
- 24:55Because sometimes when you give someone, when you free up time
- 24:58in someone's schedule, it doesn't mean that they're going
- 25:01to spend the extra time productively.
- 25:02So spend the time in a productive way.
- 25:05I don't know what I just said. I think with me it not having to
- 25:10take care of the dog, the time that it freed up from that,
- 25:15maybe it gave me another like 30 minutes in the day where I was
- 25:19like actually working. But I think it just allowed me
- 25:23to be lazier. Like it allowed me to like not
- 25:27get out of bed as early because with Louis, like once, you know,
- 25:32I get back into the routine of dog sitting him.
- 25:35Like it's, it's pretty efficient, our schedule and I
- 25:38kind of it, it's good for me to have that little bit of
- 25:41structure because right now with like 0, you know, with no
- 25:45dependence, like I can sleep in as much as I want and getting
- 25:48out of bed is difficult for me. It's not the hardest thing in
- 25:52the world, but it's like every morning I just it, it's, it
- 25:55takes willpower to like get out of bed in the morning.
- 25:59So it was nice to have Louis the dog around.
- 26:04So getting a dog stuff off the table, but I'm going to revisit
- 26:09it. Like I'm just going to sit on
- 26:11those slots about dog ownership for like a few more weeks after
- 26:17I get back from the cruise to 1st week of February.
- 26:19We can re evaluate that might be a good time to get a dog because
- 26:22definitely at least when I first get the dog I want.
- 26:25I don't want to like get a dog when I have some travel bags
- 26:28coming up two weeks after that, at least for like, you know,
- 26:32the, the, the month or so after I get the dog because, you know,
- 26:35dog needs like acclimatize and all that stuff to like a new
- 26:38home and all that, your routine and everything.
- 26:40We will revisit the dog thoughts after I come back from the
- 26:46cruise in February. But yeah, that's been that's
- 26:48been my day so far. I guess if nothing else, it gave
- 26:54me something to talk about on the podcast today.
- 27:00Yeah, I I should probably, I should probably get another.
- 27:02I should fix my hotspot backup Internet thing, but that
- 27:06requires that requires money. I've been buying a few things
- 27:09that I didn't super really need. I showed you guys the sneakers
- 27:13that I got last week. Sneakers are still sitting on
- 27:16my. I'm looking at them right now.
- 27:19I'm I'm literally staring. It's 6 feet away from me off
- 27:22camera. I'm looking at those brand new
- 27:25sneakers now. Yeah, I'm, I've been tempted to
- 27:27get every so often, I tell myself, Joey, stop buying
- 27:34things. Like stop buying things and it
- 27:3790% of the time it works. I am.
- 27:40I did sell some old camera equipment.
- 27:43There were a couple, there were a couple camera lenses for my
- 27:46fancy camera that I'm looking at right now.
- 27:49I sold those two lenses. I sold them because I got 2
- 27:52brand new lenses to replace those.
- 27:54But one of the lens I got was was actually neither was neither
- 27:58one of them new I got no, I got 2 used lenses.
- 28:02Like lenses are always like it's always better to buy used.
- 28:04Honestly. I got 2 new to me lenses to
- 28:07replace the 2 old ones. So I mean, I don't, I don't, I
- 28:11think net net, I'm still spending a few extra 100 bucks
- 28:14on that even with selling the old ones.
- 28:16I'm selling my old Oh, my old. There's so much junk in my
- 28:19dining room table. This is my iPhone 14 Pro Max.
- 28:22If you're watching a video version of this, this is it's
- 28:24gathering dust because I got the iPhone 17 what in like October,
- 28:31November. So this has been sitting for
- 28:34like two or three months and I just literally like an hour ago
- 28:38did the thing I need to do online to get rid of it.
- 28:42I was going to sell it on eBay or something like that, but I'm
- 28:45going to go with a different place where they'll just send me
- 28:49a box and kept me a check. You know, this particular phone,
- 28:53this model, it's like I'm I'm if I did EB eBay, maybe I'll get
- 28:57another at best $50 at best, best case like, but this is such
- 29:02an old and Bank of phone. It's not got any cracks on it,
- 29:05but it's got so many dents and it's like an older model now
- 29:07It's like what A33 plus year old phone that you know Yeah, So I'm
- 29:12just going to get rid of this one.
- 29:16So yeah, there you go. Thank you for listening to not
- 29:19that tragedy of a day. You know, I wasn't, I wasn't, I
- 29:24kept it optimistic. You know, some days are more
- 29:27difficult than other days. And it sometimes surprisingly
- 29:34difficult to keep the glass half full in terms of your thoughts,
- 29:40which control your emotions by learning therapy.
- 29:43And sometimes little things can derail your day.
- 29:47I'm glad to say I'm at a point now that you know, some of these
- 29:52things, obviously these are very minor things in a grand scheme
- 29:55of things like not having Wi-Fi, Honestly, like I didn't really
- 29:59blink half a knife. Like, OK, whatever, I get to
- 30:01slack off. I was talking to a friend
- 30:04recently and he, he, he got sick and he got sick.
- 30:10That means that oh, he has to take time off of work.
- 30:13You know, when I get sick, even if I really didn't want to be
- 30:17sick, I've learned that, you know what, if I legit get sick
- 30:23and I can't work, I'm going to enjoy it.
- 30:28Whereas a lot of people sometimes they think like, oh,
- 30:30Oh my God, I'm getting sick. I can't go to work anymore after
- 30:34like calling sick and like I'm a loser on some pay or like blah,
- 30:37blah, blah, these and that, all that stuff.
- 30:40It's disrupting your life and no one likes getting sick.
- 30:42Getting sick doesn't feel good. OK, I've learned to just lean
- 30:46into it. If I get a cold or flu or
- 30:49whatever. Well, obviously for me, I'm in a
- 30:51position where like I'm self-employed, you know, I, I
- 30:55don't have to call in sick. But even when I did have the day
- 30:57job, I've already learned that lesson by then.
- 31:00If I'm actually getting sick, I would just call out sick.
- 31:03There's still that little bit of obligation or that little bit of
- 31:06anxiety of like, oh, like, what if someone at work needs me for
- 31:10something? It's one of the little joys, one
- 31:13of the little advantages of being self-employed.
- 31:17Because if I really wanted to, I can just say like to my, well,
- 31:23let's use only fans as an example.
- 31:25I'm supposed to post like twice a week.
- 31:27If I was properly sick for a whole week, I'm just going to
- 31:29tell my fans like, hey, guys, I'm sick.
- 31:32New videos this week and maybe some people won't subscribe
- 31:38because nothing new came out that week.
- 31:40I'm OK with that. They'll probably subscribe in a
- 31:43couple weeks time when I start reposting and there's some brand
- 31:45new hot content they want to see.
- 31:47And my existing subscribers, some of them may be just more
- 31:51cash subscribers. Maybe they don't choose to
- 31:52renew. That's OK.
- 31:53But there, I know that there are supporters out there that's like
- 31:58some of these people, a small fraction of them, they've
- 32:00subscribed to me for like months or even years, several months or
- 32:05like a couple years because I'm doing it for like 4 years now.
- 32:08Oh my God. And then they're like, they'll
- 32:10understand and then that's fine. So it's nice to know that like
- 32:15you can put work stuff on hold if you want to do it just like
- 32:23today. It's like, you know what, I
- 32:24really wanted to get this work thing done.
- 32:26I've been like heads down on this thing so hard for like a
- 32:28whole week. I got, I, you know, I, it tired
- 32:31me out so much yesterday that I went to bed early because I was
- 32:33sleepy. But then today it's like, you
- 32:35know what, let's just, we just need to do some, we, we're going
- 32:38to do some other stuff today and I'm completely at peace with
- 32:42that. The Wi-Fi going out was fine,
- 32:45The annoying gym people was fine, and cleaning the coffee
- 32:48machine was fine. I, I don't dislike cleaning
- 32:51things. Obviously the only time where I
- 32:54would prefer to not clean something is the time factor.
- 32:58Sometimes it was a little busier.
- 33:00You know what, it would be nice for someone to like clean it so
- 33:03that I don't have to spend the time doing it so I can spend my
- 33:05time in other ways. So I totally get why certain
- 33:07people kind of few people that they have maids and they have
- 33:10people come and clean their houses every so often.
- 33:12Like, I totally get it. It we can kind of it it I mean,
- 33:15because time is like the most valuable precious things.
- 33:20So I I totally get it. But I'm not so busy that I can't
- 33:22clean my own house. And I think I kind of inherited
- 33:26from my mom, like, you know what, I'm going to be judgy
- 33:29about how someone else cleans my house.
- 33:33Definitely inherited that from my mom from all the times my
- 33:36mom, it's like you kids never help me do chores.
- 33:38And they're like, we try to help, like you're doing it
- 33:39wrong. Very bad.
- 33:42And with that, we'll end this week's episode of the podcast.
- 33:47Oh, I, I'm supposed to plug stuff.
- 33:50There's there's probably some new YouTube videos.
- 33:53Did a bunch of reels from one of the YouTube videos from me and
- 33:57David, the most recent one that I posted.
- 33:59I think it went up on Wednesday somehow.
- 34:01That one's gone over 20,000 views on Instagram.
- 34:04I don't know why that was more popular than the other ones.
- 34:06I told David about it. David's like, this is a boring
- 34:08ass room. And it's like, yeah, I know, but
- 34:09it's on fire. I don't know why.
- 34:11So yeah, for me to go check that one out, my Patreon is there.
- 34:15I mentioned it, and my Patreon subscribers will get another
- 34:19episode of the podcast this week.
- 34:21The uncut episodes only go out to my Patreon subscribers and
- 34:24it's out every weekend. So yeah, stay tuned for that.
- 34:29Until next time. Bye y'all.
