- 0:02Speaker 1: Yo, we're back again The Grounded Show, Episode one nine.
- 0:06Speaker 1: I said one forty nine last week and I was terrible.
- 0:08Speaker 1: I saw right, Yeah, terribly incorrect.
- 0:11Speaker 2: I can't keep up.
- 0:12Speaker 3: Yeah, man, about to hit that one.
- 0:15Speaker 4: I remember we were going to hit one hundred, like
- 0:16Speaker 4: I said, I still remember that day. We're gonna hit
- 0:19Speaker 4: one hundred, and now we're halfway to two hundred, no
- 0:22Speaker 4: facts and getting there.
- 0:23Speaker 3: What's it called?
- 0:24Speaker 1: Though we haven't been on since the event, bro it
- 0:28Speaker 1: went better than the last one, had a bigger turnout.
- 0:31Speaker 1: A lot of people said they're coming back and new
- 0:34Speaker 1: people are gonna come check it out. Whence he's gonna
- 0:36Speaker 1: be in town. Shout out to Quincy, So I already
- 0:38Speaker 1: know it's going to be a vibe just based off
- 0:40Speaker 1: of that.
- 0:41Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean my sister showed up everywhere, like all
- 0:44Speaker 4: the people showing up, Like this R and B event
- 0:46Speaker 4: that we're doing on Thursdays is growing into something that's
- 0:50Speaker 4: gonna be It's gonna be bigger than this, I feel like.
- 0:54Speaker 4: And shout out to feel good Farms. Shout out to Clinton.
- 0:57Speaker 4: He's holding it down for us, he's letting us do
- 0:59Speaker 4: our thing. He's trust in us and We're gonna we're
- 1:01Speaker 4: gonna keep trying to grow this into something bigger for
- 1:04Speaker 4: the Grounded you know, the Grounded platform, the Grounded show,
- 1:08Speaker 4: the Grounded brand. So we're gonna keep doing this.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Yeah man.
- 1:12Speaker 1: For the next one, bro, I'm picking up a Polaroid
- 1:15Speaker 1: camera and I'm gonna bring some film and I'm gonna
- 1:17Speaker 1: just take pictures of people and give him the polaroids.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Just that's funny, that nineties vibe.
- 1:22Speaker 4: My whole boys sister did that for his birthday party
- 1:24Speaker 4: and we have it on our fridge, me and wife.
- 1:26Speaker 4: He had a picture taking of us at the polaroid camera.
- 1:28Speaker 4: We have it on earth. That is dope, man. We
- 1:30Speaker 4: got to bring back this old school vibe, especially if
- 1:32Speaker 4: it's like a ninety two thousands R and B kyeah.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Yeah man.
- 1:35Speaker 1: And the right people is coming up, so that's perfect,
- 1:38Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like it's always the people
- 1:40Speaker 1: that I need to be there, you know. So that's
- 1:43Speaker 1: definitely been something that's dope. Speaking of events and such,
- 1:49Speaker 1: we just came off of the roast of Kevin hart Man.
- 1:53Speaker 1: That's been like a big topic. I haven't caught the
- 1:56Speaker 1: whole thing. I've kind of caught clips on TikTok. I've
- 1:59Speaker 1: seen Kat Williams part, I've seen the Rocks part. I've
- 2:03Speaker 1: seen a lot of the bits that Shane Gillis did,
- 2:07Speaker 1: seen one other person I don't remember off the top
- 2:08Speaker 1: of my head, but it definitely was one of those
- 2:13Speaker 1: things where we were talking a little bit about it
- 2:16Speaker 1: before we started the pot. But the thing where roast
- 2:18Speaker 1: man is a very specific thing and a lot of
- 2:21Speaker 1: times the roases for the people that seek it out,
- 2:24Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like if you're not going
- 2:27Speaker 1: into a roast knowing what the vibes are, it's very easy.
- 2:30Speaker 3: To be offended, you know what I mean.
- 2:32Speaker 1: It's almost like the same idea of like if you're
- 2:34Speaker 1: easily offended, don't go to a comedy club, you know
- 2:37Speaker 1: what I mean, because it's that environment is for that
- 2:40Speaker 1: kind of unfiltered.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Vibe, you know what I mean.
- 2:43Speaker 1: And if you're trying to have this like very tame
- 2:47Speaker 1: evening or you're trying to not toll the line, like
- 2:52Speaker 1: you got to look for something else, you know what
- 2:54Speaker 1: I mean.
- 2:55Speaker 4: And you know I'm going to tell you this. In
- 2:59Speaker 4: my other homies group chat and probably in our group
- 3:03Speaker 4: chat too, we never brought this subject up.
- 3:05Speaker 2: But could we really do a roast?
- 3:10Speaker 1: And that kind of goes You know what I mean
- 3:11Speaker 1: with what I was about to say now, is like
- 3:14Speaker 1: with the roast as funny as the funny stuff is,
- 3:18Speaker 1: they went off basically like they took a risk to
- 3:21Speaker 1: tell that joke. Sometimes origin don't pay off and for
- 3:26Speaker 1: people to like you got to know that people can
- 3:29Speaker 1: understand that, And it's one thing saying you understand it,
- 3:32Speaker 1: but it's another thing like hearing a joke like that
- 3:35Speaker 1: about yourself where you feel like it went too far.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Bro you know what I mean.
- 3:40Speaker 4: So I tell my homies they could not handle the roast,
- 3:43Speaker 4: but I couldn't handle the rose myself. Like if y'all
- 3:45Speaker 4: really made some jokes about the real me that say
- 3:48Speaker 4: that only you know the group chats know about, I
- 3:51Speaker 4: don't know if I can handle.
- 3:52Speaker 3: That in public. Yeah, that's a little crazy to me.
- 3:55Speaker 3: I think.
- 3:55Speaker 1: I think the thing about a good roast, and one
- 3:58Speaker 1: of the reasons why it's to professionals is because they
- 4:02Speaker 1: can always stay inside, like uh, they can always stay
- 4:07Speaker 1: inside a certain boundary so that at the end of
- 4:10Speaker 1: the night, everybody can still shake each other's hands. Yeah,
- 4:13Speaker 1: when you're if you do a roast with friends, Bro,
- 4:16Speaker 1: you know you always got an emotional friend that he's
- 4:19Speaker 1: gonna come up and be like, oh so I got
- 4:21Speaker 1: a big nose.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Right, that's why your wife cheated on you.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Like they're gonna say insane stuff, dog, Like you know
- 4:28Speaker 1: that they're not gonna be able to hold that back.
- 4:30Speaker 4: You know, I'm telling you, Like we talk about it
- 4:32Speaker 4: all the time, Like every time a roast episode comes out,
- 4:34Speaker 4: we're like, yo, you couldn't handle the roast. Like if
- 4:37Speaker 4: we roasted you, bro, you everybody will be fighting.
- 4:41Speaker 3: And now that's facts.
- 4:42Speaker 4: But I like they show the writer I forgot her name,
- 4:47Speaker 4: but they showed the writer of some of Kevin Hart's
- 4:51Speaker 4: jokes because everybody they they get these jokes written for them,
- 4:56Speaker 4: so it's not all of them. But she said, like
- 4:59Speaker 4: with the li thing and like where they talk about
- 5:03Speaker 4: the Grammys and like little had eight everything in front
- 5:06Speaker 4: of her, Like they complimented her with all her Grammys
- 5:09Speaker 4: that she won, but they also roasted her.
- 5:12Speaker 3: So at the.
- 5:12Speaker 4: Same time, like you're finding a balance between showing love
- 5:18Speaker 4: and roasting, And I think that is the main balance
- 5:22Speaker 4: that they had a find between every single person that
- 5:24Speaker 4: they had, like with Pete Davison's dad like, yo, I
- 5:29Speaker 4: don't know how.
- 5:29Speaker 3: He can keep that, yeah, the same.
- 5:31Speaker 1: It's like the way I feel about it is one
- 5:33Speaker 1: of those things where like some of their jokes didn't
- 5:36Speaker 1: land for me, but I wasn't like, oh man, he
- 5:39Speaker 1: really said that. It's just like they just went away
- 5:43Speaker 1: with it. That wasn't funny to me. People laughed at
- 5:45Speaker 1: some of the stuff, like the Tony Hinchcliffe thing. Bro
- 5:49Speaker 1: as many people that were saying that he went too far,
- 5:52Speaker 1: was the same amount of people that loved it because
- 5:54Speaker 1: they already know what type of time he's on.
- 5:56Speaker 4: And even him like his reaction because they're everybody went
- 6:00Speaker 4: in on him for being like, uh, what is it called?
- 6:04Speaker 3: Anti yeah? Anti semi yeah, and then.
- 6:07Speaker 4: All he's like, he's like, where is all this coming from?
- 6:11Speaker 4: It's like off of one reaction. But he had to
- 6:13Speaker 4: deal with it. That's what everybody had on it, Yeah, exactly.
- 6:16Speaker 4: So he had to deal with it because same thing
- 6:18Speaker 4: when he comes on here, and he brought that same
- 6:20Speaker 4: fire that everybody brought to him, Like you can't be
- 6:23Speaker 4: upset that you're coming with the same thing everybody came
- 6:26Speaker 4: at you.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Yeah, and dog like to be blunting, not for nothing,
- 6:30Speaker 1: Like he's a white boy, so he's making jokes for
- 6:33Speaker 1: white boys. Like maybe you don't think it's funny because
- 6:37Speaker 1: maybe that's not in the line of like the type
- 6:39Speaker 1: of comedy that you into, you know what I mean.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Like all a lot of comedians are different. Bro Yo,
- 6:45Speaker 1: shout out to my boy, wee little man. He always
- 6:46Speaker 1: makes fun of me because he'd be like that, I
- 6:49Speaker 1: don't like no white comedians, you know what I mean.
- 6:51Speaker 1: He always tells me like, yo, you you racist dog,
- 6:53Speaker 1: you know. And it's not even like we were talking
- 6:57Speaker 1: about Shane Gilliss earlier. I think Shane Gilliss is funny.
- 7:00Speaker 1: I've checked out some of his stand up. It was
- 7:03Speaker 1: he had some good bits, for sure, you know what
- 7:04Speaker 1: I mean. But it's like comedy comes from that place
- 7:07Speaker 1: I feel like, where like you relate to.
- 7:10Speaker 3: It, you know what I mean.
- 7:11Speaker 1: And it's like a lot of a lot of that
- 7:13Speaker 1: like college frat boy type humor is like I don't really,
- 7:16Speaker 1: that's not my vibe, you know what I mean.
- 7:18Speaker 4: Yeah, And there was a thing about like they're like, oh,
- 7:21Speaker 4: Kevin Hart should have had Drew Ski holding it. But
- 7:24Speaker 4: I think with the line of comedy that Shank Gillis springs.
- 7:29Speaker 4: It's good because he said it. He's like, ooh, He's like,
- 7:32Speaker 4: I'm gonna get these jokes off. Y'all might not like it.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Y'all might like it, and not for nothing, brother, the
- 7:37Speaker 1: stuff that I've seen Drew Ski hosts, he's not a
- 7:39Speaker 1: great host, Bro, He's not a great as great as
- 7:42Speaker 1: he is online and as great as his acting is
- 7:45Speaker 1: in the skits and stuff all that. Bro, Like he's
- 7:47Speaker 1: funny dog, but like, yeah, it's a difference between doing
- 7:51Speaker 1: funny stuff from the phone and being funny in front
- 7:53Speaker 1: of people.
- 7:54Speaker 3: There's a difference between.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Capturing a whole room versus like capturing a whole like
- 7:59Speaker 1: Steerter or you know, twelve thousand people in the audience
- 8:03Speaker 1: and you got to keep them on track.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Like, that's just a different thing, Bro, it's a different thing.
- 8:07Speaker 4: And I think Shane had that genuine ability to be like, Bro,
- 8:10Speaker 4: I'm being a comedic right now.
- 8:13Speaker 2: I'm telling jokes.
- 8:15Speaker 4: Y'all not gonna love all these jokes, but I'm gonna
- 8:17Speaker 4: tell these jokes. And he accepts the reaction of the crowd.
- 8:21Speaker 4: He's like, damn, y'all didn't like that one.
- 8:24Speaker 1: I think like the overall gist of it for me
- 8:26Speaker 1: is like if you if you complain about it, you
- 8:30Speaker 1: probably shouldn't have been watching the roast. Like next time
- 8:32Speaker 1: Run of the Rose pops up, don't even watch it,
- 8:34Speaker 1: just get.
- 8:34Speaker 2: It, Charlie Sheen one that justin bieber one, what is.
- 8:39Speaker 3: The Donald Trump? You remember that one back in the
- 8:41Speaker 3: day run Yo?
- 8:42Speaker 1: The Donald Trump roast was crazy because I think it
- 8:45Speaker 1: was maybe like twenty fourteen or something, and that was
- 8:50Speaker 1: when he was like flirting with running for president and
- 8:53Speaker 1: they talked about it on the on the roast, and
- 8:55Speaker 1: like I remember watching that roast thinking like like ha ha,
- 8:59Speaker 1: you know, like yeah, right, Donald Trumps president Dog?
- 9:02Speaker 3: And then who would have thunk it? Dog?
- 9:05Speaker 1: Like we well that was like almost that had to
- 9:08Speaker 1: be at least ten years ago, bro.
- 9:09Speaker 3: And fast forward and you see what it.
- 9:14Speaker 4: And have comedists come up there and just tell stupid
- 9:18Speaker 4: ass jokes like you gotta go in.
- 9:20Speaker 1: No facts, bro shout out it's rest in peace Dog
- 9:23Speaker 1: one of the Rose ghosts, Greg Giraldo, Bro Greg Giraldo Dog.
- 9:29Speaker 3: He was the red.
- 9:30Speaker 1: He was like the Tony Hinchcliff, like of the Rose
- 9:33Speaker 1: in the two thousands, bro Like Greg Geraldo got up
- 9:36Speaker 1: to that mic bro and you knew he was not
- 9:38Speaker 1: gonna give a fuck about nothing, and he was about
- 9:41Speaker 1: to incinerate everybody.
- 9:43Speaker 3: He talked about dog that was that was those were
- 9:47Speaker 3: that was.
- 9:47Speaker 1: A good runner ROAs Bro, the Greg Giraldo ROAs Man
- 9:51Speaker 1: with I.
- 9:52Speaker 4: Still watched the best of him, the best of Nikki Glazer.
- 9:55Speaker 4: I love her too, watching her.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Yep.
- 9:58Speaker 4: It's just like, it's not roast if you don't go
- 10:01Speaker 4: in like that. So people got to understand that, and
- 10:03Speaker 4: like there was a huge surge of comments or like oh.
- 10:06Speaker 2: He uh Kevin Hart did It's just everybody let him
- 10:10Speaker 2: humiliate him. It's like, bro, it's a roast, no fact roast.
- 10:16Speaker 1: What do you think we were talking about a little bit.
- 10:20Speaker 1: What do you think about people saying that he should
- 10:21Speaker 1: have not only like the Drew Skie thing, but that
- 10:24Speaker 1: he should have had more like people of color involved
- 10:26Speaker 1: because it was like a lot of like white comedians,
- 10:28Speaker 1: white holes, you know what I mean?
- 10:30Speaker 2: Topic who is in the running right now? For that?
- 10:34Speaker 3: For being on it? Well, who's the big who's big?
- 10:38Speaker 2: What color comedics are big right now? Being the running?
- 10:41Speaker 1: I think he had like uh, you know, the right
- 10:44Speaker 1: ones as far as like, uh Kat.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Williams, whoever wasn't on.
- 10:48Speaker 3: There, whoever wasn't on there? I don't know.
- 10:51Speaker 4: I mean, I mean, okay, Eddie Murphy, Dave Chappelle. I
- 10:55Speaker 4: feel like they're too big for that. I think they
- 10:57Speaker 4: didn't want to deal with all the and.
- 11:00Speaker 3: Who knows who they even invited that declined it, you
- 11:02Speaker 3: know exactly.
- 11:03Speaker 4: But who else, like who's big right now in the game.
- 11:08Speaker 1: And even to like bring that question like even more
- 11:11Speaker 1: focused who is for the Netflix crowd because it's a
- 11:15Speaker 1: it's a roast on Netflix where they're you know, the
- 11:18Speaker 1: type of events that they do live on Netflix are
- 11:20Speaker 1: like that they want you know, all of America tapped in,
- 11:24Speaker 1: you know what I mean.
- 11:25Speaker 3: So it's like they're Kevin Hartbrough from ten years ago,
- 11:30Speaker 3: whatever he crossed, He's mainstream bro.
- 11:32Speaker 2: He's he's never.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Been like like yo, I'm like a hood comedian or
- 11:38Speaker 1: like I'm like black and brown crowds, you know what
- 11:41Speaker 1: I mean. Like he ain't been there.
- 11:43Speaker 3: For a long time.
- 11:44Speaker 4: That's why they keep talking about right along three and
- 11:47Speaker 4: all the Jumanji and all that stuff, because he's he's
- 11:51Speaker 4: surpassed that that crowd, that the panel that he had
- 11:56Speaker 4: there is the panel that he's acquired up to this
- 11:58Speaker 4: point of his career.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Yeah, the people that they are deemed important are the
- 12:03Speaker 1: ones that's gonna be in the Kevin Hart Rost. They're
- 12:05Speaker 1: not gonna get regular people or whatever, you know what
- 12:08Speaker 1: I'm saying, They're gonna get everybody.
- 12:10Speaker 4: And I remember, like we talked about like Ralph Balbosa,
- 12:13Speaker 4: like he's great, He's not at that at that level
- 12:17Speaker 4: of that panel.
- 12:18Speaker 3: That was the Yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think I didn't have a problem with
- 12:23Speaker 1: like because they were saying, like a lot of the
- 12:25Speaker 1: writers were white and like I said, a lot of
- 12:27Speaker 1: the participants were white and stuff. But to me, I
- 12:31Speaker 1: never look at Kevin Hart like that. So it's like
- 12:34Speaker 1: it just seemed like that's what it was gonna be anyway.
- 12:37Speaker 1: I mean, the Rock was one of the main guys
- 12:40Speaker 1: there where it's like the Rock is not gonna be
- 12:44Speaker 1: as some like BT Roast or something, you know what
- 12:46Speaker 1: I mean, Like the Rock is always lean, you know,
- 12:50Speaker 1: the Rock is always lean into the Samoan thing more
- 12:53Speaker 1: than anything, you know what I mean. And it's it's
- 12:55Speaker 1: also what he grew up with So you know, I'm not.
- 12:57Speaker 2: Saying as much as he reps us some inside.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Exactly he was.
- 13:01Speaker 1: He was around his his his mom and his mom
- 13:03Speaker 1: is Simonan, you know what I mean.
- 13:05Speaker 3: So it's like.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Even the fact that the Rock is like one of
- 13:09Speaker 1: the featured guys there, you already know, it's not like
- 13:11Speaker 1: a comedian thing or whatever or that kind of thing.
- 13:14Speaker 1: It's like, this is a spectacle, bro, you know what
- 13:16Speaker 1: I mean, Like started with Tom Brady. I think that
- 13:19Speaker 1: all of the rest of them have been to be
- 13:21Speaker 1: produced by Tom Brady.
- 13:22Speaker 2: That's at the tone right.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's like a mainstream kind of thing, bro.
- 13:28Speaker 1: It's not like a like a hip hop culture whatever.
- 13:32Speaker 4: And I said, I might get some hey for this.
- 13:33Speaker 4: It's not the b T Awards. It was the Grammys
- 13:36Speaker 4: of Comedy.
- 13:37Speaker 1: No, not facts and even like you know, there's a
- 13:39Speaker 1: difference between those two. Even Charlemagne be talking about how
- 13:42Speaker 1: like a lot of these artists don't even show up
- 13:46Speaker 1: to the BT Awards.
- 13:47Speaker 4: And stuff like that, and it's like, I'm not judging,
- 13:49Speaker 4: but that is what you get as a performance difference
- 13:53Speaker 4: between the BT Awards and the Grammys. Yep, I'm not
- 13:56Speaker 4: saying who should be there or anything like that. That's
- 13:58Speaker 4: not my call, but that's what you get.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it's one of those things where, like, like I said,
- 14:03Speaker 1: bro Like, there's the more focused crowds, and then there's
- 14:09Speaker 1: the everything crowd. They're trying to get the everything crowd. Bro,
- 14:12Speaker 1: they're not, and Kevin Hart has been. That's what I'm saying,
- 14:15Speaker 1: bro Like. It's so funny to me that people were
- 14:18Speaker 1: talking about that with him. It's like, Yo's he's never
- 14:21Speaker 1: been that guy. Bro, He's never ever.
- 14:23Speaker 3: Been that guy.
- 14:24Speaker 4: After Soul played and after they think like a man,
- 14:27Speaker 4: he pushed all that aside and now he's way past.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Yeah, he wanted to be Hollywood, bro Like, and I'm
- 14:32Speaker 1: not even saying that in a bad connotation. It's just
- 14:35Speaker 1: it's truth. That's where he wanted to be. He wanted
- 14:38Speaker 1: to be the Hollywood guy. Same with the Rock. The
- 14:41Speaker 1: Rock wants to be the Hollywood guy. And then that's
- 14:44Speaker 1: kind of like the persona he brought to the roast.
- 14:47Speaker 1: And to me, it was like if he would have
- 14:50Speaker 1: just been more like just straight wrestling rock, like just
- 14:54Speaker 1: the rock that we used to see on raw back
- 14:56Speaker 1: in two thousand. Bro I thought that would have been
- 14:58Speaker 1: super funny, but it was like just he I don't
- 15:02Speaker 1: know Bro in wrestling and in just regular like Hollywood stuff. Bro,
- 15:07Speaker 1: he'd just be doing too much for me lately, Bro,
- 15:09Speaker 1: like he's doing too much.
- 15:11Speaker 4: Wasn't feeling it. I wasn't feeling the Rocks performance. But hey,
- 15:14Speaker 4: like I said, it's not a shocker, like, we get it.
- 15:18Speaker 4: That's that's the level of Hollywood they're on.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, And that's.
- 15:21Speaker 1: What the that's the same the same thing with Kevin
- 15:24Speaker 1: is the same thing with the Rock.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Bro, Like, that's the Rocks brand.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Now he's level Holly huge Hollywood star and that's like you.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Gotta keep it at that exactly exactly.
- 15:34Speaker 1: But yeah, man, like I said, Bro, Like, whoever whoever
- 15:37Speaker 1: thought they was gonna watch something having Hard and Tom
- 15:40Speaker 1: Brady produce and think that it was gonna culturity or
- 15:44Speaker 1: it wasn't gonna be Apollo, It wasn't none of that facts.
- 15:47Speaker 1: And and that's why people didn't find it funny like
- 15:51Speaker 1: they thought they would, because it wasn't for us.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Bro. It just that's that's how it is.
- 15:54Speaker 2: I mean, I still found it funny.
- 15:56Speaker 1: No, No, I'm saying in general, most people were like the
- 15:59Speaker 1: last the jokes fall flat, and I get it, bro,
- 16:02Speaker 1: because I see I feel it as well. Like like
- 16:04Speaker 1: I said, Bro, sometimes I'll be watching white comedians and
- 16:07Speaker 1: just none of it lands for me because it don't.
- 16:09Speaker 3: It don't hit for me. I don't.
- 16:11Speaker 1: I don't know what they're talking about. So like the
- 16:13Speaker 1: context behind the jokes and everything is like it's not
- 16:16Speaker 1: in me. So it's like I'm not catching the little things,
- 16:19Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like if somebody's you know,
- 16:22Speaker 1: going has gone through that or going through that, they
- 16:24Speaker 1: feel it, you know what I'm saying. And it's like
- 16:26Speaker 1: you're not gonna feel that the same way as you're
- 16:28Speaker 1: gonna feel something that you're more comfortable with, you know.
- 16:32Speaker 3: And that's bro.
- 16:32Speaker 1: That's something me AJ was talking about earlier too, Like
- 16:37Speaker 1: you don't you don't even always got to like limit
- 16:39Speaker 1: yourself to like the crowd that you're used to, you know.
- 16:41Speaker 1: I mean, you can always like move yourself around and
- 16:45Speaker 1: see what feels good or whatever, and you don't got
- 16:48Speaker 1: to feel bad about like maybe this ain't my crowd.
- 16:51Speaker 3: You know.
- 16:51Speaker 1: It's not like as long as you being true to yourself,
- 16:53Speaker 1: no matter what, you're not turning your back on nothing,
- 16:56Speaker 1: which is like how I feel about Kevin Hart. I've
- 16:58Speaker 1: never liked the whole Cat Williamson. I'm a huge Kat
- 17:01Speaker 1: Williams fan. I got Cat in my top three, And
- 17:05Speaker 1: to me, Kat Williams is way more funny than Kevin Hart.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Like it's not even to me, it's not even a comparison.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Bro.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Like Kat Williams is hilarious to me, Kevin Hart is
- 17:15Speaker 1: mad at best when it comes to straight comedy. But
- 17:19Speaker 1: I don't get the whole thing with Kat Williams. Always
- 17:22Speaker 1: on Kevin for doing like Bro, he's doing what he
- 17:25Speaker 1: what he wants to do, and that's that's the thing
- 17:27Speaker 1: he values and he's chasing.
- 17:29Speaker 3: If that's not the thing that you care about, why
- 17:32Speaker 3: do you care that he's doing it? You know what
- 17:33Speaker 3: I mean.
- 17:34Speaker 4: He's he's trying to be a billionaire, like, and you're
- 17:37Speaker 4: hating on him for doing that.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Yeah, Like, and if you don't, if you don't rock
- 17:41Speaker 1: with it, or you feel like he did, X, Y
- 17:42Speaker 1: and Z like it exactly and they don't got nothing
- 17:45Speaker 1: to do with you, Bro, literally got none to do
- 17:47Speaker 1: with you. So that that's definitely one of the things
- 17:50Speaker 1: like that I find like corny about Kat Williams.
- 17:53Speaker 3: Like as a person, like, you.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Know, I understand that, like talking about other people nowadays
- 17:59Speaker 1: is like the thing that you know moves the algorithm
- 18:02Speaker 1: and stuff. But you know, it's like you're you're to me,
- 18:07Speaker 1: it's like you so talented, bro, Like I don't even
- 18:09Speaker 1: need to hear that from you. You could just talk
- 18:12Speaker 1: about current events and stuff.
- 18:13Speaker 2: And comedy special.
- 18:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean he did.
- 18:18Speaker 2: It was good. It wasn't bad at all. I enjoyed
- 18:20Speaker 2: that too.
- 18:20Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like the whole read and everybody doing stuff
- 18:26Speaker 4: and shady like those jokes that we can't repetitive and
- 18:30Speaker 4: it's like, bro, people trying to make some money.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Man, Yeah, exactly, it's like the whole Like I don't know, man,
- 18:37Speaker 1: it's it's everybody's. Everybody takes the opportunities they take and
- 18:41Speaker 1: they always justify them in their mind that they're good.
- 18:45Speaker 3: The people that.
- 18:45Speaker 1: You're saying are taking opportunities that are wrong or whatever,
- 18:48Speaker 1: and their mind is not wrong.
- 18:50Speaker 3: So it's like they're on it.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Like I said, brof somebody's on a different way that
- 18:54Speaker 1: you're doing different stuff.
- 18:55Speaker 3: Like they're over there, they're literally over there. You do
- 18:58Speaker 3: you over here?
- 18:59Speaker 1: If they're going on there to do something, that means
- 19:01Speaker 1: they're not here doing this, so you already know where
- 19:03Speaker 1: you can do.
- 19:04Speaker 4: And that's why I feel a lot of the hate
- 19:05Speaker 4: is like, hey, I didn't get that opportunity, so I'm
- 19:07Speaker 4: a hate on the person.
- 19:08Speaker 1: But even like some of the people that are are
- 19:11Speaker 1: speaking out or like hating on it, were offered that opportunity.
- 19:14Speaker 1: So it's like, if you were offered it and you
- 19:17Speaker 1: didn't want to do it, why are you so vocal
- 19:21Speaker 1: about like you know what I mean? And it's the
- 19:23Speaker 1: funny thing too, where it's like they're putting a face
- 19:27Speaker 1: to the person that's writing the checks. So that's why
- 19:31Speaker 1: all of a sudden it's quote unquote bad. But you'll
- 19:34Speaker 1: take a faceless check. Like a faceless check, you take it.
- 19:38Speaker 1: You don't even care, you don't question it. You're not asking, yo,
- 19:41Speaker 1: who's signing this check. If you don't know who signing
- 19:43Speaker 1: the check, you don't care. But once you know, or
- 19:46Speaker 1: you think you know who's signing the check and you
- 19:48Speaker 1: think it's somebody different, you're like, oh no no, But it's.
- 19:51Speaker 4: Like then you're ready to protest. I will upload any
- 19:54Speaker 4: check to my mobile app. Quick, don't even blame me.
- 19:58Speaker 1: And once when you get it to that that territory
- 20:01Speaker 1: of like judging everybody and holding them up to like
- 20:06Speaker 1: the standard of like are they as good as you?
- 20:08Speaker 1: Or like are they on your level of justice? You know, bro,
- 20:12Speaker 1: you're gonna drive yourself crazy.
- 20:13Speaker 4: You can't set standards for people who have nothing to
- 20:16Speaker 4: do with your life.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Exactly, and who literally don't care about your stand at all.
- 20:21Speaker 1: Like if somebody's living their own life, they don't care.
- 20:24Speaker 1: They don't care about you, They don't think about you.
- 20:26Speaker 1: You don't you don't roam around in their mind, So
- 20:29Speaker 1: like why are you letting them roam around in yours?
- 20:32Speaker 3: You know, that's a.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Good life lesson. You're a wise man.
- 20:36Speaker 3: You know.
- 20:36Speaker 2: You know I'll be here. You know the Ronnie meme
- 20:39Speaker 2: that he didn't like.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Yeah, that's funny though, Yo, that's a that's a funny
- 20:45Speaker 1: side note. But like I typed wise in the gift
- 20:49Speaker 1: search on Apple and the first thing that came up
- 20:53Speaker 1: was like a racist looking Asian dude stroking his.
- 20:56Speaker 3: Beard like this, you know what I mean? And I'm like,
- 20:59Speaker 3: and my.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Boy that I that I sent it to, he's he's
- 21:02Speaker 1: Vietnamese and he's like, damn, bro, that's that race is
- 21:06Speaker 1: low key. I'm like, honestly, dog Is, I literally just
- 21:08Speaker 1: put wise. I didn't put anything else, and it was
- 21:11Speaker 1: the first thing that yeah exactly, yeah exactly.
- 21:16Speaker 4: Or Ronny, Man, we gotta get him on here when yeah,
- 21:22Speaker 4: he'll be he'll be a funny person to get on here.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Dog Is like he he'll be on like like the
- 21:28Speaker 1: the He'll be on like a good.
- 21:32Speaker 3: Path with the stuff he's saying, and then he'd be
- 21:34Speaker 3: on fire.
- 21:35Speaker 1: And then he'll just throw in like seven dad jokes
- 21:37Speaker 1: in a row, you know, and just like destroy all
- 21:40Speaker 1: his momentum.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Ready to hear that laugh fun here?
- 21:43Speaker 1: But yeah, man, we can kind of start, uh winding
- 21:47Speaker 1: down with the Drake talk. Man, the album about a drop,
- 21:51Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, Like when when people hear this,
- 21:56Speaker 1: the album will have already dropped. So keep in mind
- 21:58Speaker 1: that we haven't heard it yet, you know what I mean.
- 22:00Speaker 1: This is gonna drop during the day tomorrow.
- 22:02Speaker 2: I'm gonna play this for three months in a row.
- 22:04Speaker 3: Yo, Joe's ready, dog.
- 22:07Speaker 4: Iceman, Tiffany Bluestones, I didn't make plenty of rights out
- 22:10Speaker 4: of two rounds.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Joe is ready, Dog, He's been ready.
- 22:13Speaker 3: Bro, I don't know.
- 22:15Speaker 1: I don't know if I've met like a bigger Drake
- 22:18Speaker 1: fan dog. And I don't say that with happiness at all,
- 22:22Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, Like it hurts my heart
- 22:23Speaker 1: to say that. Honestly, I would say is Joe's biggest flaw,
- 22:27Speaker 1: you know what I mean?
- 22:28Speaker 3: Just the Drake fandom.
- 22:30Speaker 4: But we're still one hundred and fifty episodes deep, even
- 22:33Speaker 4: though I'm a Drake fan.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Just know that.
- 22:35Speaker 1: But like always, I am gonna listen to it because
- 22:39Speaker 1: I don't care who it is, Bro, I'm not depriving
- 22:42Speaker 1: myself of good music if it's good music, so I
- 22:44Speaker 1: always give it a chance, you know what I mean,
- 22:46Speaker 1: anything anything that, like you.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Always said, you prefer the R and B Drake or Drink.
- 22:50Speaker 3: That's my wish for the album.
- 22:51Speaker 2: Before I think it's gonna be the rapping Drake.
- 22:54Speaker 1: I'm hoping that there's a lot of singing bangers on
- 22:56Speaker 1: it because the summer's right here.
- 22:58Speaker 3: So Drake is a strategic guy.
- 23:00Speaker 1: I could see him doing an album song Iceman, but
- 23:04Speaker 1: it's for the summer, you know, kind of like a
- 23:06Speaker 1: little little play play on the on the words and such.
- 23:09Speaker 4: I could see that, and he said he's gonna freeze
- 23:12Speaker 4: the summer up.
- 23:13Speaker 1: Yeah, so I definitely could, you know, I definitely could
- 23:16Speaker 1: get down with the singing stuff because honestly, never Mind
- 23:19Speaker 1: is my favorite Drake album, like front to back, because
- 23:22Speaker 1: he's just singing and it's all like dance music, and
- 23:24Speaker 1: I like that vibe from him. I think he did
- 23:26Speaker 1: a good job with it. If you look, if you
- 23:29Speaker 1: look at my library, bro, the Drake songs I like
- 23:32Speaker 1: or hold on, I'm Going Home Brier's interlude sooner than later,
- 23:39Speaker 1: h find your love.
- 23:41Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 23:42Speaker 2: Just stop lying.
- 23:43Speaker 3: I love all it, bro, all the singing stuff, I
- 23:45Speaker 3: love it. Bro.
- 23:46Speaker 1: If Drake was just singing, bro, he would be up
- 23:50Speaker 1: there for me, Bro.
- 23:50Speaker 3: But he don't have.
- 23:51Speaker 4: But what what does his rapping? What takes away from
- 23:55Speaker 4: his rapping?
- 23:56Speaker 3: You know what? You know what what it is with
- 23:58Speaker 3: his rapping, Bro?
- 24:00Speaker 1: And since you got up, I'm gonna I'm gonna actually
- 24:02Speaker 1: get up and demonstrate it.
- 24:04Speaker 3: So check this out.
- 24:05Speaker 1: So Drake to me, right, this is how he sounds
- 24:08Speaker 1: like when he wraps. Right, it sounds like to me
- 24:11Speaker 1: when Drake is rapping, he's in a dark alley right,
- 24:15Speaker 1: like leaning back like this right, and he's flicking a
- 24:18Speaker 1: coin in his hand. He's in a dark alley, flicking
- 24:21Speaker 1: a coin in his hand. And then like when you
- 24:24Speaker 1: approach him, he's like in a play, and like in
- 24:27Speaker 1: the play, you approach him and then he starts rapping.
- 24:30Speaker 1: Like that's how he sounds like to me, rapping, Like
- 24:33Speaker 1: he's like in the dark corner, like you know what
- 24:35Speaker 1: I'm saying, Like I like care about his money in
- 24:38Speaker 1: the city where I'm from, Like you know what I mean.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Like just the style of it is so like theatrical, you.
- 24:44Speaker 3: Know what I mean. And it's just it's just funny
- 24:47Speaker 3: to me.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Man, It's funny the way he raps, Like the way
- 24:50Speaker 1: he puts his sponge lines together is funny to me.
- 24:53Speaker 3: Like, I just can't take it serious. Take it serious, bro.
- 24:58Speaker 3: Every time every time I hear it, I'm like, but
- 25:00Speaker 3: is it good?
- 25:01Speaker 2: Though? Are the good bars? They're not?
- 25:03Speaker 1: Because like to me, it's like you're just like it's
- 25:07Speaker 1: kind of like the thing that I had with J
- 25:10Speaker 1: Cole during the period when J Cole was trying to
- 25:13Speaker 1: be popular, Like you're rapping about rapping.
- 25:17Speaker 3: I don't care about that bro't.
- 25:20Speaker 1: You could be the biggest hip hop head. I don't care, Bro,
- 25:23Speaker 1: if you're just rapping about rapp. That's why I don't
- 25:25Speaker 1: like emin m Bro. Like a lot of his stuff
- 25:27Speaker 1: is like him just being like clever with the bars
- 25:32Speaker 1: and stuff.
- 25:33Speaker 3: I don't want to hear rap about rap.
- 25:36Speaker 1: I want the rap to have some kind of story
- 25:38Speaker 1: behind it, And you're doing a cool way of making
- 25:42Speaker 1: me not hear the story, you know what, Like the
- 25:44Speaker 1: hold on real quick, but just to wrap it up
- 25:46Speaker 1: one hundred three thousand, Bro. His lyrics, Bro, when you
- 25:50Speaker 1: read them and when you're really paying attention, like dog,
- 25:52Speaker 1: he's really he's really telling a tale, Bro, But you're
- 25:56Speaker 1: vibing sometimes you forget that he's this guy's rapping his
- 25:59Speaker 1: ass off.
- 26:00Speaker 3: That's the type of stuff I like.
- 26:01Speaker 1: You know what I mean, Like I don't I don't
- 26:03Speaker 1: need this, you know, scorn boyfriend rap, you know what
- 26:08Speaker 1: I mean? Like like Drake makes music to me, Like
- 26:11Speaker 1: for people that like are going through a breakup and
- 26:14Speaker 1: they at the gym getting brolick, you know what I mean,
- 26:16Speaker 1: Like they're listening to Drake like, oh, I'll show her pissed. Yeah,
- 26:20Speaker 1: Like you know what I'm saying like Rebecca's gonna feel
- 26:22Speaker 1: me this.
- 26:22Speaker 4: Summer, you know, Like, you know what my last coming is,
- 26:26Speaker 4: you're too much of a NAS fan.
- 26:28Speaker 2: I'll leave it there.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Well, I'm too much of a NOAs fan, because that's
- 26:31Speaker 1: my bag. You know what I'm saying, Like.
- 26:33Speaker 2: I like the rap.
- 26:34Speaker 3: That's the rap, and that's what I came up on,
- 26:37Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Like when I first heard NAS, It's like, damn, this
- 26:40Speaker 1: dude is saying something dog, you know. And it's funny
- 26:43Speaker 1: because I like, I like, I like NAS, But then
- 26:47Speaker 1: at the same time, I really really like my top artists,
- 26:50Speaker 1: be like Michael Jackson, Nas, Gunna, Ty Dolla Sign Future
- 26:56Speaker 1: Sometimes like I like, I like these obscure like people
- 27:00Speaker 1: that you will say, dang, you like lyrics but you
- 27:01Speaker 1: listen to them. But then at the same time, for men,
- 27:04Speaker 1: I don't categorize them as rappers. I just categorize them
- 27:07Speaker 1: as artists. Like his vibes, you know what I mean.
- 27:10Speaker 4: And to side with you, I will say, Drake doesn't
- 27:16Speaker 4: spit his hottest shit unless he's talking about women or
- 27:19Speaker 4: another rapper or some shit that he had a person
- 27:22Speaker 4: that he had.
- 27:23Speaker 2: Other than that, he doesn't rap anything.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Yeah, And it's like when when you're getting in that
- 27:28Speaker 1: mode where you want me to just listen for the bars,
- 27:31Speaker 1: I'm gonna listen for the bars. And when and when
- 27:34Speaker 1: I don't, I don't know.
- 27:35Speaker 3: I just don't.
- 27:35Speaker 1: I don't feel it, bro. Like when he raps, I
- 27:38Speaker 1: just don't feel it. But when he sings or when
- 27:40Speaker 1: he does the singing type rap and he's doing like
- 27:43Speaker 1: the relationship type stuff, I feel that, bro. Like, like
- 27:46Speaker 1: I always say, if Drake just did that kind of
- 27:49Speaker 1: music or if he did more of it, because he
- 27:51Speaker 1: doesn't have to me, he don't have enough singing stuff.
- 27:54Speaker 1: He has a great voice, and people always to be
- 27:56Speaker 1: a rapper exactly. That's the thing, Bro, He's he's the
- 28:00Speaker 1: theater kid that wants to be the street guy though,
- 28:04Speaker 1: and it's like, you're not the street guy.
- 28:06Speaker 2: I do not lie about that.
- 28:07Speaker 3: That's probably Heather Holland.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Bro, that's Republican thenander.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Everybody got the Heather Holland I found out from you.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Everybody got the Heather Holland calls Bro about the.
- 28:19Speaker 4: Heather from underwriting. That just cleared your thirty.
- 28:25Speaker 3: But yeah, man, like I said, brou I'm definitely gonna
- 28:28Speaker 3: check it out. I hope it's dope. I always hope
- 28:30Speaker 3: it's dope. Bro.
- 28:31Speaker 1: I don't classify myself as a Drake hater because, like
- 28:34Speaker 1: I said, I got Drake stuff in my library. Bro,
- 28:37Speaker 1: I wish he would make more stuff that I liked.
- 28:39Speaker 3: It's just we can wrap up with the with the
- 28:43Speaker 3: this that lead, you know.
- 28:44Speaker 1: What I mean, Well, the one Am song Albany like
- 28:49Speaker 1: where he got like the little bars to like lebron
- 28:52Speaker 1: to Kendrick Budding, Joe Budden, j Cole, doctor Dre even,
- 28:57Speaker 1: you know what I mean.
- 28:58Speaker 3: And it's like, man, I don't know that's the row
- 29:00Speaker 3: you want to take dog.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Oh no, Hey, but we'll be back next week.
- 29:05Speaker 3: Yeah we will. Drops.
- 29:07Speaker 1: We're definitely gonna get into I have a feeling it's
- 29:10Speaker 1: going to be a topic worthy.
- 29:13Speaker 3: But yeah, man, you already know stay but but
