Two Sacramento State stars are headed to the pros: pitcher Ethan Lay, picked 168th by the Twins in the 6th round—Sac State’s highest draft pick since Rhys Hoskins—and outfielder Erick Dessens, selected 393rd by the Guardians in the 13th round, the first Hornet to join them since 2015. Lay led the team with a 3.78 ERA and was a finalist for Pitcher of the Year, while Dessens smashed 350+ batting average, 10 homers, and 64 RBIs. Both earned All-WAC First Team honors.
